more thoughts (positive for a change)

sorry to keep treating this like a personal journal when most of you are here for CoB content but it remains the 1 place where i feel semi-safe talking about things w/o blasting them to 10k+ people while also having more than 0 people listening

but just feeling a little hopeful for once! i got invited to speak on my 2nd ever panel today. it looks like it's a small convention and it's far too early to know if it'll actually pan out (not even responding today bc im trying to be more strict about giving myself wednesdays off), but it's still just...really cool that i'm actually being recognized as a professional and invited to things.

i still think so much about how when i was like.....12....or something, we had to do one of those like...dream life assignments. and i remember exactly what i said- i wanted to be a mangaka in japan with a studio apartment (yes, i was a very cringy kid. i called my friends -chan and -kun too). then i got older and more realistic. realized i could do art, but never my own project, and yeah, that's what i did for a long time.

yet... here i am now?!! granted, i never moved to japan (which i'm fine w/ lol) and it turns out studio apartments kinda suck and i much prefer a 1 bedroom...but i'm making a living off of that comic i came up w/ in middle school when had 0 concept of reality and how unlikely the chance to do that would be. and... i dunno! for a kind of rare moment, i feel like i can keep doing it (knock on wood)? if it's not obvious by now, i can get kinda doom and gloom about my future (and i wont even think about the industry as a whole w/ AI becoming more of a problem every day), but just for this moment i feel kinda optimistic?

i still have no idea what my future holds with webtoon. I have no idea when I'll have something ready to pitch again or if they'll even take it, but for once I feel like that uncertainty doesn't mean all or nothing. I kinda feel confident for once that even once CoB concludes on Webtoon, I can keep doing this to some capacity, whether that's through another series, physically printing CoB, somehow continuing CoB, I dunno yet. like i dunno. i think i'm just finally having this dawning realization that i am a professional? and other people see me as such? ik, probably a dumb thing to just now be realizing but blah blah, imposter syndrome or something, etc etc.

not sure where i'm going with this but just thank you guys for your support. if you're one of the like 100 people who actually follow me here, tbh you're probably one of my more dedicated readers, so thanks for being part of making this quite literal childhood fantasy dream come true. and shout out to the people actually inviting me to stuff on the super slight chance they actually follow me here. it seriously gave me kind of a reminder that oh yeah, i am a professional and good at this

Idk if this is appropriate or not (feel free if this is something you don't want to answer) but as a casual kpop stan who really only stans seventeen and listens to other kpop artists on a somewhat frequent basis I just feel as though seventeen is reaching their peak in a way that's far from satisfying. Like idk if this makes sense but to me it seems as tho the members are struggling to keep out of "scandals" with mingyu's incident last year, minghao/seoksoon being labeled as fat phobic earlier this year over out of context clips and now with Joshua (he's not even close to being my favorite member but these rumors and pregnancy stories are honestly making me so upset rn) ...as a fan who feels a genuine attachment to these people it's hard for me to be happy because while Ik the boys deserve every good thing coming their way fame comes with a price and that price is what I'm worried about. Like I get that Pledis isn't SM and seventeen definitely see themselves as family unlike NCT who view themselves more as colleagues I'm so scared that Joshua will eventually leave like Lucas or heaven forbid anything more drastic happens. It's just that I always see these "we could never save them" posts but then the same people who post them also comment the worst things forgetting that idols are humans too. I'm super sorry for the long ask but I just read that jeonghan got hurt and that made me think of the rest of the members and everything else they've been going thru. I'm not even the type of person to get attached to people I barely know but with Seventeen it's like I'm really and honestly praying for their success because they seem that THAT genuine group of people who are just trying their best. Sorry for the rambling

i get what ur saying. dont worry abt sending a long ask! ur welcome to rant abt svt in my inbox whenever! honestly i havent stanned for too long so idk how things were before this past year but i do worry for them lately :/ theyre getting injured too often and they get no rest. i dont like how pledis/hybe are managing them at all. theyve been constantly touring japan very repeatedly for seemingly no good reason at all which has obviously tired them out (theyve been dropping like flies, LITERALLY). pledis had the opportunity to promote them in ways that didnt involve constant performances but have just chosen not to for some reason. i really hope they get to rest soon (unlikely tho since theyre likely gonna have a world tour next year).

about the joshua thing. i feel sosososo bad for him. idk and idc if hes really dating that girl honestly. i do feel like it was kinda dumb of her to consistently post herself in the same places/clothes as him if they really wanted to keep it a secret BUT neither of them deserved the hate/scrutiny they got for it. not even with the pregnancy thingy on her stories. i don't think joshua and lucas' situations are comparable whatsoever since joshua has not done anything wrong unlike lucas. im hoping pledis somehow protects him better but thats unlikely. i dont think any member of svt will ever leave bc as u said, theyre family. cant rlly compare to nct tho lol bc i only stan svt so idk any other groups' dynamics like that. i do get what ur saying tho i have friends who stan nct and svt and theyve said to me that they do see a drastic difference in dynamics between the two groups but thats neither here nor there.

lastly, i have the best hopes for svt. they keep saying theyll only go up from here and i believe that. idk how that will play out with military service in consideration or with what seems to be chronic incidents that keep happening to them (gyu, cheol, and han in the past few months) but i trust and hope they'll be okay. they have a very established fanbase and a rlly good support group with one another so i only see good things for them in the future. hope they get at least a month off soon though.

Ik you've been made a headcanon about Dark Choco Cookie and Peach Cookie. Somewhere in the Cookie Run comic, Dark Choco Cookie actually falls in love with Peach Cookie. So, what if there's a fanchild of them? Do you mind making their fan child? If not it's fine ^^

So like I’ve alluded to in my other posts today, my headcanon for Peach and Dark Choco were VERY different and probably not so viable here, but let’s say this is just the comic universe or something, and here’s Dark Plum Cookie

Honestly after reading some of the comics, I’ve come around to this ship quite a bit. But unfortunately it contradicts my old headcanons for them (okay I should probably actually explain what those headcanons were. Basically at some point someone made a thing saying that General Jujube could be Dark Choco’s other parent, and it basically made me spiral into a rabbit hole. And since I know Jujube is at least implied to be Peach’s father, that’d make the two of them half siblings, so Dark Choco was basically like Peach’s older brother. Also that Peach was a teenager), and it’s hard to really start shipping them without dealing with my old headcanons, as it’d make it look far worse than it is, and of which I do not endorse. But I like this new ship too, so I’m just debating making my old headcanons into like, an au or something where Jujube is Dark Choco’s second parent, although I kind of already do that, since my real headcanon is that Dark Choco only has one parent. But maybe having both of those coexisting is a bad look…All right, maybe I can just scrap the first headcanons, like I did with Dark Cacao and the North and South Dragons. And also make Peach older, since I know I’m just bad at guessing ages (for example, I thought Rayla from Dragon Prince was in her early 20s when she was 15). She’s probably in her early 20s

Anyways, sorry for the weird tangent, let’s get onto the actual fankid, yeah?

So I chose the name Dark Plum because I wanted a fruit similar to peaches, but dark in color. The only one I could find was plums. Unfortunately, there is already a Plum Cookie, so I added the “Dark” to indicate I was basing him off the darker and more purple ones. I mainly based him off the black splendor plum, which has this red flesh on the inside

So for his design, I wanted to go with a dark purple to be some sort of middle ground between the black and peach colors, and after seeing some dark plums with red flesh, I made his secondary color red. I think I was originally going to give him purple eyes like his grandfather, but I ended up making them red so they’d stand out more. I kind of ended up using Plum Cookie as a reference for his hair, since they’re both made of the same thing. I was going to put the red on the same places as Plum’s yellow, but I thought it looked better on the ends. I’m not entirely sure what it looks like not flowing. I wasn’t really sure what to do for his outfit, or his weapon for that matter. Originally I was debating giving him a sword or a staff, since I wasn’t sure which parent to lean more towards. I was debating a spear but I didn’t really want to since I’ve already made 3 of these with spears. I mean I still kind of ended up doing that, but it’s double sided so it’s fine. It’s supposed to be more staff like. With his outfit I sort of just ended up using the Dark Cacao Kingdom for references like normal. I had asked my friend for advice on his outfit and she had a suggestion, she just didn’t know how to translate it into English, so I just stuck with this. She said it looked good

Anyways, on to him himself. …I am just now realizing I spent so much time on his design I neglected his personality and character. Well what I do have is that unlike what the image may convey, he’s not a super serious warrior, he’s just in the middle of a fight. I mean yes, he takes fighting seriously, but he can be a bit prideful and confident in his fighting abilities and think he’s cool. He is a good fighter but he sometimes lets it get to his head. Also he tends to be a bit chaotic

I like to imagine Plum being like his godfather or babysitter or something, just so that we can have Plum and Dark Plum regularly interacting. I feel like if time travel shenanigans were to happen, Plum and Dark Plum would meet, and Plum would think he’s like his evil/shadow alternate universe self, only for him to instead be Peach’s son, along with Dark Choco. I feel like something like this could happen in the comics, they are a little insane

But uh, yeah, I think that’s all I have on him, I hope you like him!

palm springs starring Andy Samberg and Cristin milioti is such a great movie example of,

she's everything. he's just Ken.

and, and hits just the right spot between barbie (the movie by Greta gerwig) and Good Omens (the queer angel demon book turned show) (if this doesn't makes sense rn gimne a min I'll explain,,,

so this man (Nyles) has been stuck in a time loop for the longest time ever and he just takes it yk? like he's having a shitty ass life rn,, he makes a friend who wants to kill him, his gf is cheating on him, he's stuck on the day of the marriage of two people he doesn't particularly care or like and he's just having a bad time overall yk?? so he's just accepting of his fate and is just accepting of the sheer hopelessness of life and meaninglessness of his every action

and then, and then, comes our main female protagonist (Sarah) who's dealing with the consequences of her shitty choices, she's absolutely miserable at her own sister's wedding because she's slept with her fiance and she's considered a fuck up by everyone and her past is just fucking her up constantly and all that right?? and suddenly she mistakenly becomes a part of the time loop and now he has another person with him, she's not lonely anymore but she wants to escape it and they're having fun, feeling nice together and all that, and then she finds that the other mc lied to her and it's devastating ofc it is

and the way they behave is what I'm talking about concerning barbie and ken,,, because as soon as she leaves, the man Nyles is inconsolable, he tries to find her, goes mad doing everything in his capacity to find her, tries ways to kill himself just to find her again and that's it?? cause he's sorta grieving what they could've been and how he fucked up and all that,,,

but her, she goes and learns physics. like tf? every time the loop resets, she goes and sits at a cafe and learns quantum physics and figures a way out and experiments her way through it (is it a little convenient and far fetched that she could learn it this easily? with no previous background in it or anything else we know of? ofc yes? but is the suspension of disbelief similar to that in a barbie movie?? yk the answer is a yes 🤷‍♀️) and then she comes back with a way to get them both out of the situation that they are technically in because of him while he mopes around in the background waiting for her

the good omens thingy is the one that happens in the ending of season 2 wherein both Aziraphale and Crowley want to be together, but the way and the place they want to do it at is very different (gross simplification but essentially),,, and in palm springs (a movie that I watched for funsies and wasn't supposed to write this about) they both are essentially in a similar situation with Nyles wanting to be together w her but in the loop while she wants them to get out of it together and figure it out yk,,, it's also a nicer version of that conflict as they do end up agreeing on doing one of these things together rather than seperating (temporarily but still,, unlike some celestial beings 👀)

and yeah. that's it ig

PS,,, ik I'm talking about three movies here to get the full context of this but like it fits?! and I can't help it. (emphatic period and not an exclamation mark because I'm not desperate)

PPS,,, side note I feel so sad for tala (Camila mendes's character because she's like the only not shitty(ish) character out of all of them who ends up being married to a mf cheater who cheated on her a day before their wedding with! HER! FUCKING! SISTER! (AGAIN A DAY BEFORE THEIR WEDDING!)

PPPS,,, that's just the way I understand it and all of these movies together but yea,,, also it's fun to see men being 'rescued' and essentially just existing characters in place of women (but that could be just me 🤷‍♀️)

ik this'll come out of nowhere and be kinda weird but i saw your "what happens to Zelda" tag on the "she would not fucking become a housewife" post and because tloz is my hyperfixation my love my baby, i just wanna fill others in!! feel no need to respond to this. in fact I'd be kind of embarrassed if you did. In case you don't wanna read all of this here is the TLDR: Zelda and Link are two very traumatized individuals who were forced and hurt by the societal expectations and the destiny placed upon them and after many tragedies in their lives would rather live freely as they want rather than confide in similar societal norms that people want to place upon them.

long version: that post was in particular about the Zelda we see in Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom. from a young age, Zelda had the knowledge of her family's divine bloodline held over her. and when the warning of the Calamity Ganon (the physical manifestation of the Demon King's hatred) came to light, she was to train in awakening her divine powers. however at age 6, her mother died (implied assassination by the Yiga Tribe who worship the Demon King). Her father, King Rhoam Bosphoromus Hyrule, fell into a deep depression and began emotionally neglecting/abusing her. Zelda has a love for science, history, and the ancient technology of an era long forgotten constructed by the Sheikah Tribe. She used this as a coping mechanism with the expectations of saving the world put on her, her mother's death, and her father's neglect. Rhoam however believed that Zelda needed to put everything she had into awakening the divine power within her and frequently fought with and berated Zelda for her interest in the Sheikah Technology.

Eventually, when she is 16, she and five other individuals (Link, Revali, Urbosa, Daruk, and Mipha) form the Champions. Together they would defeat Calamity Ganon and restore peace to Hyrule. Urbosa was Zelda's mother'a best friend and thus took on a maternal role for Zelda. However Link, the Chosen Hero, was initially disliked by Zelda. He represented everything she thought she wasn't. Link also was part of this prophecy, as the Hero chosen by the Master Sword who will help seal Ganon. However from Zelda's perspective, Link took on his role so much easier than she did. Unlike Zelda, who struggled to connect with her divinity and couldn't awaken her powers, Link was a proficient swordsman and fighter. She resented him for it and often lashed out at him. One day, Link put his life in extreme risk to save Zelda's life from Yiga Assassins after her, and that action was something Zelda was incredibly grateful for, so she began trying to connect with him a bit. She learned that Link was actually struggling heavily. He too was thrust into this position from an early age when he was chosen by the Master Sword at age 13 or so. Since then, he was frequently seen and treated as a walking weapon before a person. He internalized that and began bottling up his thoughts and feelings, seeing himself as having to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders without ccomplaint. This revelation made Zelda see Link as similar to herself, and they connected on a more personal level about their shared stress and destiny. Eventually they became close friends and showed interest in something more between them.

Unfortunately, on Zelda's 17th birthday she went to the Sacred Spring of Wisdom to pray to the Goddesses in a final attempt to awaken her powers. She has tried everything she could think of up to that point and was at her lowest after failing to show any signs of power at all. It was then that the Calamity Ganon struck. The Calamity took control of the Ancient Sheikah Technology and turned it against Hyrule while also manifesting several monsters to attack. This event became known as The Great Calamity. Most of Hyrule's population was killed in this event, along with four of the Champions and her father. Several towns were in ruins or completely destroyed (like Hyrule Castle Town), and Hyrule Castle itself was taken, infested with monsters, and in ruins.

Link and Zelda flee and retreat to Fort Hateno where corrupted Guardians (large autonomous tank-like robots) attacked them amd the last remaining part of the Hyrulean Army. They were getting crushed and Link was gravely wounded, and at the last moment right before Link surely would've been killed, Zelda's powers manifested and obliterated the Guardians at the fort. Despite this one victory, there was no time for celebration as Link collapsed and dies in Zelda's arms.

Zelda is having none of it though, and orders a few survivors of the Fort Hateno battle to bring Link to the Shrine of Resurrection (which was an ancient sheikah shrine able to revive one person, however had gone unused for thousands of years and wasn't even known of it was still safe).

Zelda brings the Master Sword back to it's pedestal and goes to Hyrule Castle alone to confront the Calamity Ganon. In one night, Zelda had lost everything and she used that grief and anger to seal away the Calamity and herself within Hyrule Castle. She couldn't destroy it, however as she needed Link and the Master Sword. The two of them needed to do this together. So she waited in a state of stasis along with the beast for Link to awaken from the Shrine of Resurrection.

It took 100 years for Link to be resurrected, and as he was actively being healed he naturally didn't physically age. He awoke with no memories however. BotW happens and he slowly regains his memories of the Great Calamity and of Zelda. At the end of the game, Zelda helps Link from within Calamity Ganon and destroys the creature. (for clarification, Zelda also didn't physically age as her divine powers kept her and the Calamity in a form of stasis for the century that Link healed. Unlike Link however, she was fully conscious.)

Around 5 years pass, and in that time Link and Zelda (both around 22/122) have been slowly rebuilding Hyrule with the inhabitants of this new era. They have made new friends and connections 100 years after their lives were changed forever and were moving forward with their lives.

This peace doesn't last unfortunately, as a dark substance begins leaking from the ground underneath the ruins of Hyrule Castle. Link and Zelda investigate and discover the decaying body of the Demon King himself, Ganondorf. He is being restrained by a mysterious spiritual arm, but when Link and Zelda discover and approach the sight, the land collapses and falls to the floor; a tear-shaped artifact falls from the hand and lands in front of Zelda, who picks it up. Then Ganondorf, now free from the prison that the hand was keeping him in, attacks. This attack cripples Link (almost completely destroying his right arm), shatters the Master Sword, and causes the cavern they're all in to collapse. During this collapse, Zelda falls into a cavern. As she is falling, her divine powers (which in this game is further revealed to be light based cleansing powers as well as time manipulation) activate and she is sent far into the past: the era of Hyrule's foundation.

In the past she meets the first King and Queen of Hyrule, Rauru and Sonia. These two become the parents Zelda never had (and the ones she deserved, they're great) and they plan to figure out a way for Zelda to master her time powers to maybe send herself back the 20,000 years in the future to her time.

Zelda becomes very close with the people in this era and even gets to keep the tear-shaped stone she found in the cavern. Long story short; she learns of a forbidden practice known as draconification, gains some control over her abilities, Ganondorf launches his first attack on Hyrule, kills Sonia, transforms into the Demon King, and begins the Imprisoning War.

Rauru, four Sages (Sages of Wind, Fire, Water, and Lightning) and Zelda (appointed as the Sage of Time) fight Ganondorf. Ganondorf however is whooping their asses, and Rauru sacrifices himself to seal Ganondorf (eventually becoming the arm Link and Zelda find imprisoning Ganondorf).

So Zelda is utter defeated. When suddenly, a golden light appears before her and the shattered, broken Master Sword appears before her (Link in the present day gained time-based powers known as Recall from Zelda's willpower that had manifested which reacts with Zelda's time powers in the past and created a temporary link through time in which the sword was sent to the past through).

Zelda realizes that she is part of a causal-loop (where events in the future cause events in the past to happen that then cause said future events to happen). She realizes that by helping seal away the Demon King, she also helped create the Calamity Ganon that destroyed her kingdom in the future and she realizes what she must do to save her kingdom and those she loves. Thus she swallows the tear-shaped stone and undergoes Draconification. She is painfully turned into a dragon and the Master Sword gets lodged in her head to heal (as the blade heals via sacred energy as told in botw and other past tloz games).

As a dragon, Zelda loses everything that made her "Zelda". Her mind, emotions, spirit is all lost. She wanders aimlessly in the skies above Hyrule for thousands of years until the end of TotK where she, as a dragon, gets the Sword (now fully restored and more powerful) pulled from her head by Link and fights the Demon King alongside him. Absolutely destroying him and ending the plague on Hyrule.

Using an advanced version of Recall + Sonia and Rauru's ghosts manifesting and channeling their powers through Link, Zelda gets her draconification reversed (which was previously thought impossible). After being miserable and controlled for most of their lives, Zelda and Link finally get to live their lives in peace. No more "destiny", no more "fate", no more "expectations". Link and Zelda get to finally live their lives how they want to. Zelda, by her very character, wants nothing more than to explore and learn. She would not choose to be a traditional housewife raising kids because that isn't who she is. And now she is no longer confined to have to be someone she isn't.

Sorry for this info dump!! but now you know!

OHHHH. okay. i had honestly figured (along with my friend) that the post was about some awful fanfiction the op (are you the op . if you are pretend i wrote you there) saw.

thank you so much, zoey 🥺💜 um. things have maybe improved in some areas. like i have an interview on sunday. tomorrow i'm going to be looking at a place for rent. potentially saturday as well, but that place is MUCH more expensive, so very unlikely i can move in.

I have a friend who says i'm welcome to sleep on her couch for a bit, and she also says her dad and his gf are happy to house me for a while as well to keep me off the streets while i get shit sorted. I want to talk with her more about that when i see her tomorrow.

I'm also starting the process of applying to subsidized housing. My gf helped me move more things out of my room. um. but potentially going to have to move back in with my parents.

I dont want to move back in with them until i can get a job so hopefully they'll get off my ass about that, and it'll ease tensions in the house by me not being there as often. On that note, my mum hasn't apologized for the shit she said. she told me i was taking things out of context and putting words in her mouth. I haven't texted her since. My sister is pretty much saying i'm on my own for this. havent heard from my dad (big fucking surprise (sarcasm))

To say i'm so fucking anxious is an understatement ... but things are... maybe getting better? The crying has stopped for a time. I'll try to keep you posted. you're really kind for reaching out and I hope ur well too. my dms are also open 💜 ~nya

Since I see a lot of CBS headcanons, I decided '"Yk what? I'm gonna make myself some piss cakehole/cakehole piss headcanons because they need some love (I mean love I mean the 4 people that like these characters sitting in the back row) THIS IS SUPER LONG BTW BECAUSE THESE 2 BRAIN ROT ME EVERYDAY!!!!

Piss cakehole

•Despite being a absolutely menace to society murder, he’s very anti social. Like very anti going out with other freak friends (if he has any) or parties. Occasionally he’ll go to a friends place but that’s it. Kill. Sleep.Live.

•he actually Shockingly has a job, it’s Dairy Queen. He works night shifts because no one there wants be to around him but he doesn’t as long as someone doesn’t make him upset.

•He has curly hair you can’t fight me on it and he puts it in a curly man bun. (Bonus for salt and pepper hair)

•him and Cakehole are so identical, sometimes when their in good moods switch their outfits and pretend to be each other to pull pranks.

•Him and cakehole are actually the second oldest sniper freaks since being twins (around late 30’s. He’s mad at cakehole because he doesn’t age as much as him)

•He actually does care for cakehole and thinks as him as him as “his little brother” (their twins Ik but cakehole acts younger) but he finds annoying him around and often irritates him too the point he just wants to yank him. Cakehole is very aware and is on house arrest for that.

•he’s a stoner gay. Like hippie Artist gay. I’m talking 70’s belle bottoms and arched back. A feminine posing man. I’m talking cross dressing will wood. “I wanna be the f*cked up girl” From Ride the cyclone type gender. He/they type magic happening. He is gender.

•Hes also got LITTLE FRECKLES and a buck teeth? (Tooth?) like me because he’s my bgg

Cakehole piss

•Unlike his counter part, he’s very social and actually really funny around other freaks. He just needs to warm up or not being a murdering mood (he’s also kind of a loud person and has a higher pitched voice)

•He’s 89% percent high most of the time and smells like the strongest weed ever. Other percent is him being clueless.

Hey! Sorry this took forever! I had a busy week and I wanted to create some quick art for this! So let’s actually stop the wait and get started.

So basically, all the age gaps are swapped! As I said before. Within this many dynamics change.

All the main kids are still within their 8-10 range, meaning that all their differences are based on placement over inherent age.

With Karen taking on the more parental role of the family and trying to handle her brothers, especially Kenny who gets Kevin up to mischief a bit. However they are a bit more tamed due to Karen having a very logical head on shoulders. Like Kevin she still kinda shy and not talkative but a bit more approachable.

Ike on the other hand has a more complicated relationship with Kyle. Mostly due to Gerald. He wasn’t the biggest fan of Kyle first due to how much his parents fawned over Kyle due to him being an unlikely baby— due to some fertility issues that lead to them getting Ike… not to mention Kyle was and kinda still is a sick baby. He has a poor immunize system and was lucky to survive in the first place, so he’s spoiled rotten- and Ike really didn’t care for it at first. But he wasn’t heartless.

It took more time to warm up, and mostly through seeing Kyle kinda develop into a person and look up to him. It was very on and off early in life till Gerald started to compare them together. Especially with Ike being a gifted kid— and despite Kyle’s intelligence, not coming up to the same par. It really upset Ike and it only brought Kyle and Ike’s relationship closer. Being the male figure Kyle needed.

The main difference with Kyle himself is that he’s less emotionally repressive and open because Ike was able to provide security to protect him in a non-physical means. So it allowed him more space to feel things and not worry about a backlash or a full on physical defence. He trusts Ike a lot.

Often going to him for little problems. Though he’s still a mommas boy. It’s just different. But the main point is that Ike did have a messy relationship with being an elder brother but got better the older he got. Also being what they thought was an only child at first brought a lot of expectation. Expecting that seeded resentment that went to Kyle for a lot of his beginnings. Stan not evening liking Ike due to some of the meaner things he did.

Stans and Shelly relationship is the more normal sibling dynamic for the most part.

But in honesty? I think they’re almost healthier this way? Since Shelly’s anger is more being checked due to her being the baby regarding attention. With Stan guiding her though things a bit. Especially since Stan is a sensitive person and probably would crumble a bit when he was a dick if Shelly ever got really upset, which kids, even when their angry face tend to cry and whatever.

There was a lot of specific events too, I do remember there was one special reason Stan hated Ike, and lead to Stan being more protective over Kyle. Stuff about Ike and Karen being friends due to them meeting at a tutoring gig, maybe even babysitting stuff. And a lot regarding Kevin and kennys relationship mirroring that of Karen and Kenny. Since Kenny is a constantly compassionate person. But with Kevin his needs are def different than the likes of Karen.

Also Kevin being taught more like repression shit because he’s not allowed to hit due to Karen being strict because she’s a bit extreme in view points due to her environment!

I can update more and tell specific stories if anyone asks! I’ll try to make sure I draw more for it and that it comes out faster than this time!

pat and acting

i didn't think much of pat joining the play first bc it seemed like it was simply a device used to further the plot and end the bet + using kwan&riam's story as a mirror to theirs, but when u go back and rewatch, pat's theatrics haven't begun or festered from around the play. it's always been there, since the beginning, the play only gave him a platform to let that part of his shine. its been there since he was ten and thought of climbing through his rival's window to draw a truce instead of catching him in a silent corridor at school. when he's eighteen and suggests roleplaying to help that fake rival get ideas for a bus stop, and is ridiculously dedicated to his role. when he's twenty-three and pretending to be his lover's rival on his request and convinces his friends in a way even the requester hadn't.

we know pat has a flair for the dramatic from how he asks pran to pretend-punch him when his friends are fighting, when he stages a heroic entrance to save pran by joining the play, from how elated he is about being gifted the staircase confession. it shows in how he lets pran pass by him then grabs his hand in ep 6, in how he pretends to be sick to get a sponge bath from pat in ep 7, how he ropes his friends into scaring pran after he got shot and convinces pran he's badly hurt so he can kiss his cheek.

but it's obv the loudest during the play. he's so happy, so so happy to be on stage, you can tell he enjoys every second of it. like from how cheerful he is when they're closing the play. at this point, things are a mess w their friends and faculties and pran's upset, but in that moment pat can't stop smiling. and when pat told pran he was going to follow in his dad's footsteps and take the family business, ik we all wondered if that's all he's ever wanted, if he'd chose smth else had he been raised differently.

and i think he knows, that if things were different, he would have pursued performing. taking up the play at all wasn't smth he had to do to win pran's heart or the bet, but he does so anyway bc he enjoys it and now he has an excuse to pursue the thing his father wouldn't approve of. when he was scolded by his father, pran wasn't the only reason he didn't drop out of it, he just knew his priorities unlike what his father accused him of. it was acting above rugby (pran above his father). he continued the play for weeks bc it was smth he liked doing, smth he was unwilling to give up. joining the play, prioritizing it over rugby wasn't for pran, that was just an excuse he needed to give himself to choose his own dreams above his father's, bc at this stage pran was the only thing he would readily defy that man for. so using pran as an excuse, thinking of his actions as placing pran's needs first, lessened the guilt of 'rebelling' against his dad by actively going against his wishes even after a warning.

even five years later, we're shown he doesn't like keeping their relationship a secret but when pran asks him to pretend at the reunion, he does so w no complaints. he finds it fun to lie to his parents, he looked like he was enjoying himself thru out the montage. like u could see it in how pran kept smiling pat's way during the reunion bc he couldn't help it, he's seeing his bf in person for the first time in a year, but pat's so dedicated to his role he answers w eyes so fierce and intense, it convinces his friends that even their kids would be enemies.

and i think this is just one of their things now. like how pran dreams of being a musician, but might never be able to do so bc of his mom, he saves his music just for pat, makes pat his only audience, that same way, pat might have enjoyed performance arts if his father allowed him the option of pursuing it, but bc he can't, he saves his drama for pran. pran will entertain his theatrics and lend him the stage for it thru their secret relationship, while pat becomes pran's most devoted fan.

i think its cute that he likes being dramatic but i also think its sad bc he seems to genuinely like acting. and he'd make a great actor. he'd always pick cheesy romances and come home and practice his lines on pran. pran acts like he's sick of it but his heart jumps every single time bc pat never warns him before slipping into character. he'd do the sappiest things then say 'how was my acting? did it make ur heart skip a beat'. pran says no, a bold-faced lie, but pat's hand's on his neck he can feel his pulse. he's insufferably proud of his acting but only w pran and pran alone, bc he loves the effect it has on his bf/husband. he'd be pretty humble otherwise, paying attention to everything he's told by the producers, crew and other cast members. he also loves acting the most around pran, his favorite role is pran's hero. and omg inkpha and the kids would be sick of them. of pat for constantly trying to woo the man he's been w over fifteen years and of pran for pretending he doesn't like it when every inch of him is visibly squealing. also i'm sorry this devolved into hcs fskljfsl if we get s2 i wanna see them explore that bit about pat's ambitions outside of his father's dreams for him. it might not necessarily be acting, i might be wrong, but i just want to see pat learn more about what he likes, outside of what his father has dictated he should.

it’s something he loves to do alone so the fact that he lets you stargaze w him and even allows you to shift your head onto his lap while you watch the sky is a huge deal
