Seeing other people's versions of Groudon and Kyogre inspired me to try my hand at designing them in my world! Here they are both genuine giants, titans and true aspects of ocean and earth. And, more alarmingly, they never lost their primal forms. They can't ever lose them actually! They're more forces of nature then anything else. It's only in more recent centuries that they've calmed, in a sense. Their powers are controlled, but never diminished.

Groudon towers over 200 meters in height while Kyogre easily stretches to a length of over 400 meters. There are tales that say Groudon's heart beats with the core of the earth, and that Kyogre holds the entire world in it's coils.

These designs are mostly just me messing around and are subject to change in the future, but they were fun to make!

Part one / Part Three

"You should stop turning down those job offers, they offer you a good amount and your other clients seem not to ask for your help much lately."

You sighed looking at the request manager, he took your silence to mean that you didn't really care, you never have anything stable in this world, there were always better and worse times so it wouldn't really worry you.

"Just take care to let me know if there are other people than 'Mr. B', their requests are ridiculous."

The man raised both hands, nodding to your petition, after that you left the alley where you met the manager, returning to the busy streets of Tokyo in the middle of rush hour, where everyone was walking down the street without worries, you mixed among those people until you reached a suburb of small houses. You opened the rickety door with a nasty creak, looking at the garbage that flooded the floor, you couldn't ask for more for the minimum amount of this place and location, anyway it was time to move to another apartment.

Not only because you needed to change 'home' from time to time, but because lately you had felt less safe with your environment, it all started when you accepted the first request from 'Mr. B', they only asked you to kill a man, you did your job but also you discovered the identity of that 'B' who turned out to be not just one person but rather several.

You don't usually remember faces or names that aren't necessary for your missions, so you had to rack your brains to remember those two faces you saw, then you linked them to that group you saved in that brothel a month ago. Luckily only you could see how the guy with the pink mullet and the guy with the scar who tried to stop you that time were there, they seemed to be watching your movements with a satisfied smile when they saw little drops of blood fall from your face.

You interpreted that 'Mr. B' was all that group that you barely remembered the appearance of, you thought that on that occasion they were only there to check that you did your job well, but you noticed how they started to track you after that assignment, although of course, they could not find you and their only way to see you would be for those orders, which you did not accept.

The next two months your usual customers disappeared without a trace, it's not like you received daily orders but it was strange that all your requests were now only from 'B', it irritated you because it meant a heavy blow to your name in the underground, by refusing to take orders to Bonten, no one else did it as if they felt threatened.

But the worst of all was that every step you took you felt their eyes on you, every corner you turned you saw their shadow on you, it bothered you enough to think about killing them but you seriously thought about it and it would get you nowhere, you didn't used to kill to reputable or well-known people because that would cause a more intensive search for you and those guys seemed to be at least successful because they were handling a ridiculous amount of money.

You didn't even know their names and they always seemed to be on your trail, you never let them get too close to you, but lately they seemed closer and closer to finding you directly, you got fed up, you weren't leading a quiet and peaceful life, but inside from the garbage of your work you could always have a rest from all those deaths, you could always have a little space to pretend that your life was not rubble and everything was normal.

"Looks like I'm going to have to do some special work or I'll go completely hysterical."

As you were getting ready to leave that same night, all of the Bonten executives gathered at their meeting point earlier today, all sitting at a round table waiting for Mikey to start the meeting, though he waved for Takeomi to start since he was already busy eating his taiyaki.

"As you know we have been looking for that assassin from that day, we have always followed clues but we never managed to find the person, but today, we will complete the capture plan."

They all nodded in sync, some more eager than others, after all the stupid game of cat and mouse made them feel more irrationally attracted to you, Mochizuki always enjoyed watching you mix so well with people but quickly lost sight of you that he needed more from you, Sanzu and Rin enjoy seeing you staining you with the blood of your targets, Kakucho seems to appreciate your fighting style, Takeomi sees you as a difficult puzzle to solve and Ran and Kokonoi were perhaps the least attached to that exalted image of you, but they were curious about you.

"Is everyone clear about their part of the plan? We can't let anything go wrong, she never leaves a trace and knows how to erase her tracks, so we'll have to resort to more violent methods than just watching how she goes on our faces."

The meeting continued for a few minutes, explaining each phase and step while unknown to them you were in the room ventilation listening to everything, your blood boiled listening to how they talked about how they would make you bow down to them, it was your breaking point.

"Once we capture her, we can do what we want with her?"

"Only what I allow."

Mikey got up answering Sanzu who rolled his eyes for the answer, the leader patted his shirt to remove all the rest of the crumbs, with that everyone knew that the meeting had ended although to their surprise three bullets hit the table right in front of the site from Mikey, immediately after you kicked the grate and jumped on top of the table pointing your two pistols at everyone.

"I am going to make one thing clear, do not interfere in my life, I don't know what you want from me, but I'm not looking for anything from you."

You kicked Rin's arm as he tried to grab your leg, immediately firing Sanzu's pistol to disarm him, then ducking to avoid Ran's staff.

"What about the expenses for destroying that brothel?"

"You speak as if-" you jumped from the table hitting Kakucho's hands with the butt of your pistol, moving as far away from them "as if you lacked money, I know you are 'Mr. B', there is no point in charging me for that."

"We don't need reasons to want you as our slave! If we want something we have it and you would be a great possession to us."

"Oh just go to hell, Chunzu, I don't care about you or your supposed leader Mokey, I'm asking for peace of mind! and I want you to take this as a warning."

You took a little momentum, doing a slight somersault on the table, you shot at the large window breaking the glass into small pieces, you ran towards the broken window to jump through it, the arms of Mochizuki and Rin trying to reach your body unsuccessfully, you spun in the air and fired one last time before your body was thrown from the top floor of the building, disappearing into the darkness of the night and the buildings.

The bullet made Mikey's dyed hair move slightly, a couple of cut strands slowly descending to the ground, everyone fell silent watching their leader look at the window you had thrown out of, Kokonoi snapping everyone out of their daze.

"Mikey…?"

"If she want to play that game we'll play, before it was a whim, but now it's a necessity, I want her here."

He turned now looking at the wall where the lead bullet had been nailed, brushing the hole and scratching slightly to remove the small object, he smiled observing the shape and caliber.

"Let's start… analyzing this."

He took one last look at his most trusted executives before walking off fiddling with the 10mm bullet, they all looked at each other with a new flame burning in their eyes, you're only making things worse, you should have run but it was too late to get rid of them.

For your Ronal/Tonowari adopted!spider, I can only imagine how the Sullys react to the 'loss' of another... let's not call it son, they didn't earn that. They are still grieving and I can imagine it hitting Tuk even harder rhan Kiri bc I don't think Tuk would understand that it is what is best for Spider. Kiri I'm sure would be sad but happy that Spider is so cared for and loved. (1/2)

I totally agree, they would feel like they lost another one of their family, because to them spider was like a family dog to them, they cared about him, but he wasn't an equal.

jake - he'd feel guilty, but partly in denial. I think his neglect came partly on his focus on his "real" family, so he'd want to hide from it I think part of him did love spider, he got used to being around, and did want to keep him around; but spider was never his son, he has no intention of truly treating him like a son, and that realization hits him hard and fast. he would want to argue, but I don't think he'd have much to really say.

neytiri - I think to have it laid out in front of her how much harm she caused a child, human or not, especially by another na'vi who had suffered so greatly at the sky peoples hands, would make her feel kinda bad. I think neytiri had a sort of dissconenect when it came to spider, she couldn't see a child, or a victim, she only saw his human body and it got in the way of everything else. she is pissed ronal put her down like that, and hurt on behalf of her children because she knows they're losing another brother, but deep within her, she's so relieved; it wasn't fair to either of them, they both hurt in eachothers presence. I also think spite would make her sort of against it, but at the end of the day, she knows that spider going with ronal is better for them all.

lo'ak - I agree that losing spider right after neteyam would probably make him flip out just a little, even if only in his head, cause he can't lose anyone else. he never really noticed the difference between himself and spider so I think he would be angry as well, angry that spider was leaving 'over nothing'. but I think as he grieve's and recover's as much as one can recover from that he starts to really notice how much happier spider is, not necessarily in the way that he's moved on from neteyam, but in the way that he looks healthier, less empty. he see's displays of affection between spider and his new adopted family he never saw spider receive before, and realizes that they were different, no matter how his mom and dad treated him, he had more then spider. I think their will always be a bitter ache in lo'ak after losing both his brothers so close together, but I think he'd come to realize its for the better. plus, its not like he never sees him again, like they're not brothers, its just a little different now.

tuk - tuk would be heartbroken. I know from the perspective of being a little kid and losing someone like this, you always find a way to twist it that you are to blame. she would think that somehow she's at least part of the reasons spider is leaving, and even when she's convinced otherwise, she still doesn't understand why he has to go, why they can't be family anymore. she makes sure to visit him everyday, and always asks him to come home before she leaves. both of them are broken over it. he can't bring himself to say anything against jake or neytrir, she doesn't need to know how they treated him, she doesn't need to understand, she's still young and innocent; but by not explaining, her little mind comes to every possible conclusion, and most of them are more painful then the truth.

kiri - she understands, though not nearly as badly, the disconnect between her and her adoptive parents. she saw the difference between her and spider, between them two and the 'real' sully's. life was complicated, feelings and love and family was complicated, she didn't necessarily blame her parents, nor spider, but she was saddened by the turn of events. she was angry, and anger weighed her down like a stone; she was angry that her parents never gave spider the love he deserved, mad that spider was leaving for another family after all they went through together, mad that everything was falling apart. but like lo'ak she saw how much happier spider was and couldn't hold it against him, he deserved this, he shouldn't suffer the fate of being loved like a pet and not a son.

I think everyone would be feeling all the feelings very quickly and it would be rough, but its better then they could all hope for. tonowari mediates, doesn't let ronal get too angry, keeps the peace as the kids meet in the middle of the conflict, and makes sure spider is always doing the best he can amongst the chaos.

“so... my ovaries are hungry? can't we give them something to eat?”

this time heeseung exploded in laughter at your questions. that was going to be a long night.

you both knew that brain surgery was going to be risky and complicated, especially painful for the next few weeks.

the thing was that you were both ready for it, jay waited a long time in the waiting room, but he also waited a long time for you to wake up. after your surgery you acquired a post-surgical meningitis, so it took longer for you to recover.

and now, there you were, laying in your bed, semi-sitted, connected to a bunch of supplemental oxygen and IVs. at least you had jay trying on beanies for you to make your day less painful.

“look we have this beanie, which is cool, it'll make you look badass.” he tried a black beanie, a cute smirk on his lips.

you pouted a little, waiting for him to show you the next option.

“we have this one, which is green, it's pretty-” “its really cute.” you weakly stated, your voice tiny and shaky.

jay fully smiled, and then nodded.

“you think it's cute? you want to try it on?” you nodded, trying to grab it, but your hands were trembling, so jay carefully putted the beanie on your head, being careful with your bandage.

“see? you look pretty, like always. really beautiful,” jay lovingly caressed your cheek.

he tried to make things better for you, so he gave you a well deserved ride.

“and i think this is the neonatal unit. look at how cute they are, love!” jake cooed at the sight of the newborns behind the glass.

“you think we can go in?” you asked trying to adjust your IV.

you suffered from a heart defect that required surgery, a very long surgery to repair your heart valves.

sunghoon pretended that everything was completely fine, that he was calm, but like heeseung, he was freaking out.

without you knowing, he had researched everything that would happen during your surgery and every care that you would need for your recovery.

he wanted you to be as comfortable as possible during your stay, so he carried in a bag some plushies and your favorite fluffy blanket.

sunghoon was at the border of tears when they told him that you had some complications, including massive blood loss, but he still tried his best not to show it.

“there you go, baby. are you comfy?” he then placed your blanket on top of your body, being careful with the breathing tube, and the rest of your equipment.

even though you were still sedated, he still talked to you as if you were awake, as if you would respond on any second.

his eyes trailed through every single new detail on your body, the breathing tube, chest tubes, the IV meds, and most importantly... that big badge at the center of your chest.

you looked so fragile, and sunghoon just wanted to protect you and take care of you.

twelve long hours passed, and even though the machine breathing for you was gone and you were only left with supplemental oxygen, your eyes hadn't opened yet. and that was stressing your boyfriend out.

“wake up, dummy. you've been asleep for too long.” he caressed your hair in a way that would calm him down.

but when your eyes fluttered open, all of those worries went away.

“hey, sleepyhead.” his hand then trailed down your pale cheeks. actually, your entire face was pale.

“you feeling okay?” he asked.

“yeah... but i feel a bit cold.” sunghoon nodded, quickly pulling your blanket further up.

His smile was everything for you, it showed how much he loves you, and how much care he had for you.

Okami!reader acting as a 'mentor in sour armor' (like the trope) for Kuni. Where okami is jaded af by their life experiences but slowly grows attached to Kuni's humanity. Where it kinda reminds them of their younger self or somethin. So they (unwillingly) become Kuni's parental figure. "Oi kid, where are you going?" *points to nobushi camp* "Don't think about it (not until I show you how to fight-)". Okami trying really hard to keep him on the right track but their bitterness leaks to Kuni.

okami mc is just another person with heavy baggages from war and all the celestia shit that they just cant helo but mirror it through the changes in their personality. trauma and past experiences can really do shit, the same goes for kuni and okami knows that all too well, so they try to lessen his burdens but that's easier said than done :'>

besides, okami mc is just not too bothered with the way he is, they've seen worse and probably has no care left for anything other than their self and soon kuni bc he's their baby now oof fuck off ei

and it really is what influenced kuni! okami mc is not exactly egging him to go be bad, but its more like a "go do whatever u want, doesn't matter to me as long as you're being yourself ig" and kuni thought their nonchalance is equivalent to "they have low expectations, i need to prove them wrong" or "would they be more excited if i go berserk the same way they were when they first saw me?" because honestly they both suck at communication. okami mc in a way they just couldn't care less, and kuni because no one taught him how to express himself. just two equally fucked individuals who are trying their best but not enough sigh :/

so when kuni goes scaramouche and okami mc doesn't seem to try and stop him, he thought he's going in the correct path. so in some ways, it's part of what made him scaramouche, but mostly because he's still incredibly angry at the world. it doesn't help that okami mc also has a grudge towards the shogun okami mc lore let's goooo so scara just thought "yeah im also doing a favor for my adoptive mom/dad, they also hate the shogun lmao"

Like, the fact that both Black Panther and BP:WF are the only movies to get oscars/noms, and is very popular with fans and both movies are good superhero movies. Just because it's not some superhero movie curated to their tastes doesn't make it any less good. They just have bad taste, the opening line of "I thought the herb granted them permanent power" or whatever goes to show they didn't even bother to understand the rules and basics of the Herb and the Black Panther's world, and how that could be taken away from them. This is like if someone goes "omg I cant believe there is a man who can fly and shoot laser beams out of his eyes but a stupid green rock called kryptonite can hurt them and make them lose their powers". Like at some point you just have to understand that people do not want to suspend disbelief and actually engage with the characters and their world, they just want to criticize it because it's not something they liked.

And this is an issue when it comes to superhero stuff ALOT and to some extent fantasy works in general but not sci-fi, where people go "well why couldn't the hobbits fly to Mount Doom and destroy the ring" and they don't care to engage with the material/understand stuff or suspend their disbelief, and the reason I say it doesn't apply to sci-fi is bc sci-fi stories all have that pseudo science/answers that makes it less unbelievable than like giant eagles, or underwater people with feathers on their ankles. Superhero media really gets the worst of this "well why couldn't they---" because the superhero genre itself is usually rooted in lots of real world settings/comparisons. Them hating on Namor is ridicolus because I have lurked around and read comments from every type of fan and you know all those older Namor fans from like the early Marvel years who have been fans of his character for decades? I literally came across comments from them saying "even though they changed his backstory it's still the same character from the comics and it stayed true to his character" and this is what I have been saying since I saw the movie. lol. Some random youtuber farming for hate likes's opinion means nothing.

I'm not gonna watch this video again but I remember not being impressed with anything they said. They're takes are ice cold and stupid and ignorant of the movies/characters so why would I want to waste time again listening to them.

It was just really funny they were like trying to be "cool" and critique the plan: "their killer strategy to defeat namor was to lock him in a room with heaters and dry him out" and I was like LMAO. BUDDY. THAT IS EXACTLY THE MOST SUREFIRE WHY TO DEFEAT/WEAKEN NAMOR, it's LITERALLY in the comics, its been a thing for decades!!

idk man im not gonna shit on ur onions but i used to be pro breeding myself but that was when i was living in the netherlands where theres barely any strays whatsoever, and the shelters are more or less empty (last i checked, my local shelter only had three cats). then i moved to turkey, lived there for like 4 years, and the amount of strays devastated me so much. the stray kittens even moreso, with most ended up getting blind bc their moms didnt care for them properly enough. they were good kittens too, loving and affectionate, and they wouldve made great lap cats. and then id hear of people just getting british shorthairs and scottish folds instead (for some reason turks Love british shorthairs and scottish folds the most, with the latter being Bleh). and it just, idk? i had to bury like nearly 10 kittens while at the same time hearing about someones british shorthair. so yeah, in some areas and countries, i really do feel like being anti breeding is. the more moral choice tbh

I do understand how people come to that moral stance. The way I personally look at it is that people will always go get the animal they want; and if a person chooses to purchase rather than adopt its usually because it was easier to buy what they wanted than to adopt it.

When I decided I wanted a bengal, I actually did try to adopt before I went the breeder route. I've got several applications on file with major nationwide bengal rescue groups, but given that transportation usually is not an option, a cat hasn't come up in my area. And when one has, it either couldn't live with other cats or someone else was approved first.

But a bengal was what I wanted, so I stuck out waiting for several years before getting Cheza. I didn't go adopt one of the other (perfectly good) cats in the shelter because I was specific in what I wanted. I'm still on the adoption list from the rescues though, and should the opportunity arise I'd adopt a bengal (or potentially one of the f6 or higher savannas depending on the individual) from them rather than purchase a cat.

I'm also of the opinion that "both is good" and I'm happy to have adopted a weird mutt dog and a little trash cat and will do so again in the future.

for the record this is specifically life series scott and impulse but i tend to incorporate elements of other series into my headcanons too 👍

they're both:

very logic-orientated people. they tend to gravitate towards looking for the solution that makes the most sense rather than acting on instinct.

the designated "responsible one" in their respective groups, a role neither of them really asked for but kind of just ended up finding themselves in. it's not that either of them Hate having to be the responsible one but they certainly tire of it at times.

^ because of that, they also tend to somewhat isolate from said groups when things go wrong cus they're used to relying on themselves instead of looking for help. think (former) dogwarts impulse.

i joked abt this with the screenshot already lol but both of them have a bitchy streak. impulse's is alot less talked about and tends to be "tamer" than scott's but it's definitely there (it's more noticeable when skizz is nearby)

both can hold grudges FOREVER while acting like they couldn't care less.

when they're freed from that "responsible one" role, they both tend to enter this freaky gremlin mode where they start giggling and pulling dumb pranks.

they're both smooth-talkers who can hide their real emotions really well ESPECIALLY compared w/ other ppl in the series. sometimes they do it on purpose other times it's almost more of an instinctual thing.

the key difference is that impulse is more emotionally mature than scott. scott closes himself off in fear of being vulnerable while impulse is always to sit down with you and have a heart-to-heart. impulse has "settled down" a lot more, so to speak, and isn't quite as dramatic or in need of attention or approval.

it results in impulse feeling like a lot warmer of an individual, he's not intimidating because he's not trying to be (even though he very much has the ability).

anyway uh i rlly want to write or draw some sort of one shot where impulse takes scott under his wing a bit. i think they'd be good for eachother's character development is all.

Like ok, if I start with one of my earliest animes, Death Note. Yeah, Light/L has an appeal. I get it. But the story of the show is so damn good... that I really don't give a hardcore damn about the pairings. Light/L stands out bc the show WANTS you to think about them together (not as a pairing, but as two sides of a coin, etc etc)

Durarara, same. Shizuo/Izaya would be the Light/L of Durarara. But this anime is less so about the story what story and more so about the characters and their journeys. The appeal of Shizuo/Izaya is that its fun. They're both doing their own thing but then cross paths and when they do its like FIREWORKS, and the show knows it. It wants you to feel that way when they bump into each other.

FMAB (I mean c'mon, my pairing of choice was two characters that exchanged a sentence in the second last ep), that show is insanely well written. I couldn't think of ships the whole time.

I could say the same for Attack on Titan. Like I said throughout watching it, that I shipped Levi/Hange from day 1, and not hardcore. But I wasnt hoping and praying for them to be onscreen together, or to have pairing-esque moments. I was enjoying the show for what it was and if they HAPPENED to be onscreen together I was like :))) also I just kinda shipped everyone with Levi bc in my head Levi in relationship scenarios with all these different personalities was hilarious but then he had to go and be a dad to everyone so I then kept him exclusively for his wife Hange

Then take some underrated shows like 91 Days, ACCA, Baccano, Saiki, Ushio, etc. They're just so well written that pairings are so back of your mind, even if you have one or POSSIBLY two.

For me then, if I take HxH... its a weird one cause there's not exactly a lot to choose from pairing wise. But regardless. I went a good portion of the show not caring about any ship. Didn't want to. The writing was just so good. But then Meruem/Komugi entered and didn't become "my ship for that show", but one of my top 5 fave pairings of all time, the pairings I actually legitimately care a lot about. So HxH hit a little different with that one pair.

But its just something I've noticed about myself. If the pairing isn't a ride or die I'm obsessed with it pairing, its usually from a show that's so well written, I probably just have a pairing from it for the fun of it. EXCEPT HxH. The one exception.

Whereas you can take shows like YGO and Inuyasha, and the writing isn't jawdopping, and I have a good few pairs from each, and those pairings are prob my fave parts of those shows, that's just basically how I know I know which shows I consider better written than others, by my pairing quantity lmao Doesn't mean I dont love those shows tho, they're just not exceptional writing

Then you have shows that, if I didn't have pairings to get me through the experience, I'd probably still be watching them to this day, like an episode a year or something Zexal

It hurts me to see so many Tamlin defenders these days it's all so triggering for me.

My parents relationship is exactly like what happened with Feyre but only the fact that she never got the chance to get out and she's still stuck and now it's too late. I see Feyre in my mother everyday but I live in a country and community that doesn't care for women opinion and they're considered as being "dramatic", "over-reacting" and "selfish". Exactly the things they call Feyre.

My mother knew while they were engaged that this wouldn't end well but her parents didn't listen to her and they said you should marry him and fix him, bring him children he will be better... bc my father been through some traumatic stuff as well. (Honestly while I was reading acotar and acomaf, I find it a cruel joke) So that was the way to justify his actions. And bc my mother didn't wants us to hate him, she would say this to us as well that it's not his fault but we grow up and we realised this isn't normal as much as he wants to claim he's traumatised. (Sounds familiar?)

my mother gave and gave and gave but never received anything from him still receives nothing from him. And you know what he does to make her shut up and don't complain? He buys her things or for us. He used to pay for my grandparents treatment. Just like Tamlin who paid for Feyre's family to keep her were she is so she wouldn't leave him.

My mother can't go out without being questioned that where is she going, how long she's out, when will she come back? She doesn't have a job!!! And the fact that he's doing it to me and my sibling as well is also very disheartening... I can't go out with my friends without being questioned bc its dangerous outside and you don't know what's coming for you... (I'm being serious this is exactly his words)

And he never hit us or hurt us in physical way that is visible, he hits with his word how he degrade my mother and sometimes us. So no one really sees what we've been through no one believe us bc there's no evidence of it...

And knowing that ppl don't even consider Tamlin an abuser but just a misunderstood character and deserving better treatment from readers while the ppl around him suffered? Yeah... its feels like people are not seeing us just bc he's hot or have money or is powerful or whatever...

I wonder if someone tells them they're overreacting and being dramatic how they would feel? To not be seen and tell them "you're acting childish suck it up"? How would they feel?

And only bc you did some nice things doesn't make you less of an abuser we need to remind that to ourselves... (just bc tamlin help in a war HE CREATED (bc he thought Feyre was his trophy) and help Rhysand to live doesn't make him less of a shitty person that he is...)

ps: this is just my experience I know for a fact that a lot of ppl experienced worse than us. its okay if you ignore this but I only wanted to get this out somewhere that might some ppl see and rethink what they're saying...

First, I'm honored you shared your story with me and I am so sorry that both you and your mother are still in such a difficult situation. It's easy for someone on the outside looking in to say, "why doesn't she just leave already?" but anyone who has first hand experience of what she's going through (either because they have witnessed a love one going through it or they themselves have) know how difficult it can actually be to walk away. They might be struggling with years of their significant other chipping away at their self esteem to the point that they truly don't think they are worth more than the treatment they've gotten, they might be in a position where they can't set off on their own for financial reasons, they might fear for what the significant other might do if they were to leave. And I do understand why, as you are currently living this, it is triggering for you to see people romanticize Tamlin or explain away his behaviors as "he was struggling so he couldn't help himself." Of course he was struggling however, that never gives someone the right to take their struggles out on others. I don't think we'll ever be able to stop those who are fans of the Justice for Tamlin rhetoric but hopefully you take some comfort in knowing that the author herself has been vocal about how wrong Tamlin's behavior was. Others can interpret the text however they want but at the end of the day, SJM, the creator of his character has told us that he is a toxic male, that the High Lord of Spring is a "douche" and I think that's all that should matter to you. You feel his behaviors were not acceptable and the one who wrote him agrees. I'm not necessarily opposed to seeing Tamlin begin to heal but I personally don't think he's redeemed himself at all at this point and I have no interest in seeing him fall in love again, regardless of his one "heroic" gesture in the war. He still physically assaulted his friend afterwards and threw Lucien's clothes on his front door. A year after the war and he's still making no effort to try and be the High Lord his people need. It's not that someone who was abusive doesn't deserve the opportunity to better themselves but I don't think they deserve forgiveness until there are actual steps being taken to actually better themselves. Since Tamlin still, as of SF, has not made any progress in the right direction, I understand why it's frustrating when excuses are being made for his behavior. Again, I am so sorry that you and your family are going through this. Growing up in that situation often effects our own relationships and self esteem and I hate that you have become a victim in something you never had any say in. Sending you lots of love ❤️

i would have loved to have more moments revolving around thomas's family, but, as you said, there's so much going on, so many important stuff that absolutely need to get sorted out/developed more and we have just one book left. and despite its quite huge it still remains one book. so, to be fair, i don't think we'll get too much focus on the minor characters (tid cast, eugenia, etc.) but still there's a tiny part of me that really hopes we'll get at least glimpses of tom and eugenia's dynamic and their relationships with their parents....also another thing im hoping for is a scene in which tom comes out to his family i know i know im delusional i just want so much to read about gideon, sophie and eugenia's reaction like....they already know? if not, are they surprised about thomas's revelation? what do they say to him? and what about alastair? what are their thoughts about him? of course they will adore the boy and instantly forgive him for the rumor issue, but i would love to actually read all of this jwksj

and yes. i would have very much liked more focus on the lightwoods tbh and i know, im biased, but i just love them so much, i can't help it!?! like, as you pointed out, learning more about barbara and her relationship with oliver, tom's opinion on him, the way he interacted with both of them.....and i can just imagine how difficult must be to handle so many characters at once for an author, but honestly i would have probably emphasized more on tom and barbara's relationship? and not just bc im a sucker for the lightwood-collins family, but also bc it would have given us definitely more context to understand better thomas's behaviour in choi and how much his sister's death affected him.

overlooking thomas and barbara's relationship, such as tom's suffering after her death, just enforce the idea that what he's going through is not that serious, it kinda minimizes the gravity of what he's living and makes the reader less sympathetic toward him and also contributes to reduce thomas's character to the other half of thomastair

and i don't care if he's a shadowhunter and got used to the idea of death, he's still a 18-year-old traumatized boy constantly terrorised to lose the ones he loves.

and this fear is so tangible if you linger on some aspects of his story. like his tendency to put his needs/desires aside and keep everything inside for the fear of losing more people (because saying he was in love with alastair at the time of the academy would have made his friends uncomfortable and pushed them away or simply going to james and cordelia's house because he couldn't face the possibility of eugenia's death all alone.)

all these things....they give immediately the idea of how much scared and broken thomas actually is.

and (imo) the fact that we haven't gotten the chance to properly grow fond of barbara and her relationship with tom, makes it difficult for us to understand the extent of the actual nightmare thomas is living.

Hi I'm the previous anon who sent the ask about Marcela and wow I read your follow up post and I completely agree. It's just very sad that everyone knew he cheated on her:

-Hugo for sure knew he screwed around with models. Even on the night of Adriana Arboleda's event when Armando refuses to party with the models (since he was chasing Betty) , he says that he cannot imagine what kind of beautiful woman he must have on the side for him to ditch them. All the while designing Marcela's wedding dress.

- Everyone at El Mesón de San Diego. Seriously, the way that woman approached him and was all over him trying to get him to sleep with her once again before he got married. Then, when Betty asks him to kiss her there, and he refuses supposedly because of Marcela, but she states she knows that's not really an issue because he had made out with other beautiful women in that very same place and it hadn't tarnished his image nor destroyed his relationship with her. This is a place that Armando told Betty it was surrounded by his and Marcela's acquaintances and friends. So they all knew he frequently cheated.

- María Beatriz. She quickly deduced that Armando was cheating the night of the collection launch before the board meeting and their wedding. When Armando tells Marcela that couldn't celebrate with them after because he had to go back to Ecomoda, María Beatriz once again deduces he is having an affair. In fact, she seemed to be the only one who had Marcela's best interests at heart because she tells her not to marry Armando if she knows he is having an affair.

I don't think neither Armando nor Marcela had people in their lives that truly cared about their well being. They either only cared about keeping up with appearances or didn't care for them as individuals at all. If they had had that someone, the relationship would have been over way earlier and would have been less destructive for both. In fact, it's crazy to think that Marcela never had concrete proof of his cheating when it seems like everyone in their immediate circle knew about it (aside from Betty which was obvious but nobody would believe because of her physical characteristics).

tehee a little post to share my thoughts on best ops coz i got nothing better to do at 4 am :3 though I'll just talk of the ops that go up to DP rn.

gonna be generally talking of nightmare mode there unless it doesn't have one or I mention otherwise, also from either a dps or heal perspective (my tanking experience is limited to the dread master arc ops on hm and even then I've only done them once or twice).

but anyway. to start off with ev or kp - i think they're actually kinda neat as ops to start out with, u got your basic mechanics and stuff. even a heal check on some of the bosses, though healing can oftentimes depend on how good the group is at taking damage rather than the encounters themselves. though ultimately I really don't care too much for these and don't find them particularly engaging.

then for the whole dread master arc ops - over time I've kinda grown to loathe SnV personally? I wouldn't say i actually hate it, but you got bosses like olok that are just a drag and then spending over 10 minutes on a "you cannot fight forever" styrak pull only to wipe due to an unlucky failed push during a manifestation rly changes a person. also I'm shit at pushes if I need to do them lol. I find that ops aight as heals tho. warlords are a pretty cool fight also.

then u got ec, can be fun to ie. reflect on as both dps and heals, some cool heal checks if ur healing. neat to do every once in a while but no strong feelings abt it. TfB is pretty fun and I think I prefer it over ec but doesn't mean I'd always wanna go for it over the other (ec def feels more chill..?).

leaving us with df and dp for now - this one is kinda funny bc Brontes might just be my favourite legacy nim fight, but I could also kinda couldn't care less for the other bosses except for maybe draxus (but even him I preferred before the boss hp nerf and r4 gear, from a dps perspective). I also kinda actively loathe grobthok because the magnet (which insta kills on nim) gives me the fear if I'm melee. but Brontes is just a fun fight to try and optimize at least with certain specs and particularly burn is something you can do a lot on (so much fun on IO honestly). anyway compared that to DP - feel like every boss has some fun or interesting things going (although I will say calphy can get a bit annoying esp if you wipe later in the fight and then have to do the phases again which sometimes feel like they drag on). council fight is pretty cool. also getting the timer on dp is extremely satisfying, since its probably the tightest one and you can afford one wipe (or two if its early into a fight) at best. overall I think I like DP out of the legacy ops the most but Brontes individually might be my favourite end boss out of them.

leon however likes to hold a grudge over the dumbest shit ever and catboy (say it with me now) finds it HILARIOUS how mad leon gets about it so they're really the only ones who call each other leo 2

at first, catboy and the turtles only really run into each other on insane coincidence bc they both have access to the police scanner and so of course end up meeting to fight the same dudes

this happens like 7 times before they end up. actually communicating and letting each other know when the other has something handled

the turtles are 100% FASCINATED at how well the big smashy technique works, which catboy just explains away as "super-physical improv", thus revealing themselves as a theater kid. it works so well because catboy has no idea what their next move is gonna be, so there's no fucking way the opponent will either. they're literally just making shit up as they go and as the opponent reveals their weaknesses over the course of the fight.

is actually pretty cool with being a mutant (FURRY)

they definitely bond with mikey over art. they would show him the wonders of air-dry clay while talking about true crime and ghosts and shit. cooking and baking shenanigans also ensue and they would probably fight over their views on rupert swaggert (catboy HATES him bc hes a fucking asshole who makes cooking unfun and less accessible)

would show raph Endless cute animal pics, mostly their own, and discuss wrestling (catboy isn't a huge fan like raph, but they can appreciate a cool persona and ADORE extreme wrestling with glass and chains and shit because it's more real and thus more exciting). they'd probably spar a bit too, though catboy requests frankenfoot to sit out bc they don't want papercuts and also they think frankenfoot is too cute and would definitely throw the match for him.

despite the whole name thing, catboy and leon would get along pretty well. while leon has never been in a theater class or improv class, catboy clocks him as a theater kid at heart Immediately. they'd compete to see who can do a one-man music video best (catboy wins most of the time despite the fact that they can't dance for shit bc they do them Constantly just for funsies and also. yknow did 3 years of theater class). they somehow manage to turn everything into a competition: for catboy, it's always for fun, just a friendly game. leon, however. no matter what the premise is, he takes it probably more seriously than he should and more often than not ends up making a fool of himself. catboy also makes a fool of themselves pretty often though, which definitely makes leon feel better. when it's a gaming competition... it's not usually a gaming competition actually. catboy doesn't really like fighting games (they've only ever really played smash and got absolutely decimated by the guilty gear bot their first time playing), so sometimes the gaming competitions are more like "who can make the most fucked up dog in wobbledogs" or something. these competitions are more evenly split in terms of outcome.

splinter takes a while to warm up to catboy, for obvious reasons. catboy, however, has very strict limits when it comes to what they will or won't eat, one of them being "i am never fucking ever going to eat ANYTHING alive" and another being "i'm not killing it myself, my heart can't take it". catboy has never seen a lou jitsu movie, but nevertheless find it absolutely amazing to be in his presence. they like dumb insignificant trivia, so they ask him endless questions about what it was like to be a film star, what it was like to be in the studio for hours at a time, what other film stars he knows personally, etc etc.

they like to make fun of draxum a lot. like come on dude, you were a warring warrior scientist and now youre Wet Beast Supreme??? it Infuriates him to no end, but they also like to ask him alchemy and magic questions with genuine interest so he's kind of torn between hating and tolerating them. he hasn't killed them yet, so catboy considers this a good sign

they have a little bit of a crush on april KNFKEMSKDMSKMDKSJ they like how spontaneous and gung-ho she is, especially when it comes to absolutely bonkers hidden city shit. they think shes ultra mega cool and considers themself lucky to know her. they don't actually talk much though, due to them both being college students and busy with. yknow school shit.
