#What are Jinns attracted to?
Signs of jinn in the house
What is Jinnat? Well, it’s the opposite of anything and everything good about life. One of the ways of explaining Jinnat is to think of gloom, sadness, depression, anxiety, and all the things that are bad in life. These are some Signs Of Jinn In The House. We all have the good and the bad in us. But, when we are not operating from our highest self, we can allow anything and everything to…

A happier galaxy where the disaster lineage is somewhat less on fire constantly and senior padawan Obi-wan has developed a fixation on Mandalorians:
Sometimes Feemor regretted just how much he had given away when he had spent 5 expensive months bribing a traumatised Obi-wan to call him brother when he was 14. His dignity, for one, his access codes and shadow cloaking techniques, another. So he had a very dignified reaction when he was awoken to the shine of his younger brother's eyes in the dark at the foot of his bed. "I wou-stop screaming it's just me-I would like a Mandalorian. How do I procure one?"
"How the fuck should I know?"
Obi-wan scowled as if Feemor was being difficult, he wasn't, he wasn't quite awake enough for that yet. "You're a shadow, you're supposed to know things."
Ah, if being a shadow granted you the secrets of the universe instead of just a great many planetary governments, Feemor wouldn't spend so much time wondering what dark rituals Dooku had committed to result in Qui-gon Jinn. (He already knew what regular rituals Qui-gon had committed to result in Obi-wan)
"I know that I'm about to punt you out of my room right now."
"...My birthday is coming up, I believe I deserve compensation for all the traumas."
Obi-wan's eyes were very big now. Feemor sighed. He flopped back down into bed. He resisted the urge to pull his blankets back up and roll over. 'Oh sure when it's time to see mind healers everything's fine but now-'
"Shouldn't you be asking Master then?"
"Master would not approve of how I plan to use the Mandalorian."
He squinted at Obi-wan for a long moment. Obi-wan stared back. He did some quick mental maths and tried not to feel old. Eh. Fine. Feemor swung his legs out of bed. "You had me at 'Master wouldn't approve'."
"Do you think I could get one by walking into little Keldabe and asking very nicely?"
As it turns out, yes he could. A few too many in fact, apparently Jedi, their ancestral enemy, in the Mando district attracted attention, who knew? Feemor knew, Feemor would have known if only he had been properly awake when this semblence of a plan was proposed. He stalked through the cantina towards Obi-wan who was leaning slightly forwards against a pillar, ah...speaking, to a Mandalorian with painted orange armour while surrounded by a larger crowd of Mandos. At least they seem mostly amused. He ignored the youngers squawk as he yanked the back of his robes so that he moved away from the Mandalorian and spun him around.
"You cannot solve centuries of animosity by batting your eyelashes."
"I'm not batting my eyelashes " Obi-wan sniffed," I'm shaking my ass, there's decidedly more effort involved."
"I miss when I was an only child." Feemor sighed deeply. He used the force to scruff the neck of Obi-wan's robes and dangle him slightly in the air. He ignored the shouting from beside him and bowed politely to the staring Mandos. "My apologies for the disturbance, this will not happ-" He considered his brother who was now yelling out his personal comm code with a wink. " Please excuse us, this very probably will happen again, we shall workshop it. May the force be with you all."
I don't have a fully planned AU but it is Codywan!!! cause I love those bitches but have some more dialogue I came up with for this AU. I'm imagining them both as like 20-23, Obi's close to knighthood. He's still a padawan for this because I think him causing Qui-gon headaches is funny. Feemor fully thinks this complicated courtship dance Obi's created is funny, he likes studying his little brother like a bug, he just wasn't prepared for him to just waltz into little kelbade and start hitting on people, though he really should have been.
Hand wavy timeline with Jaster alive but the clones are still clones, Jango was kidnapped and held in stasis or something, Jaster claimed them as Mandos. This is really just about Obi's first and biggest diplomatic achivement being friendly Jedi-Mando relations purely cause he was in his thot era. This also somehow saves the galaxy from the sith.
I like to imagine that Cody's brothers recorded that little exchange between Fee and Obi on their helmets and uploaded it online where it went viral on MandoNet before going viral galaxywide because wait holy shit is that a Jedi saying that????. Qui-gon gets called in for a very weird meeting where the council's like ok so the entire holonet has seen your padawan being horny on main but also this is like the biggest jump in our diplomatic relationship with the Mandos in centuries so like can we keep this up somehow? This results in Obi-wan being holonet famous, first through vode recordings but then he starts a space tumblr and twitter account and he's famous now. Then his friends and other jedi start accounts because wait we're allowed to do that? and those become big as well and this is literally the best PR the jedi have had in hundreds of years. the holonet loves them. the sith are fuming.
Obi-wan, scoffing: What were they gonna do? Shoot me? Feemor: Yes. Obi-wan: I don't believe in blasters. Bly: ...like as a concept...? Obi-wan: No, spiritually.
Obi-wan: I'm sure there's a nice Mandalorian we can find for you Feemor: I'm not sure those 2 words belong together Obi-wan: No of course not, we can't find a nice one, then they'd be all alone, we need to find an absolute bastard of one so that you two match :)
Obi-wan: Oh so Master gets to take in pathetic life forms but I don't? This one's already domesticated! Wolffe: Debatable. Feemor: Cody's a person! Not a stray tooka! Obi-wan: Master takes in stray people all the time! That's how he got me!
Qui-gon: How do you explain this behaviour Padawan ? Obi-wan: The force pushed me towards the Mandalorians Master, it was quite insistent on me developing better relations with them given our difficult history. Feemor: Fascinating, please do elaborate, I'd love to hear the theological implications of a force-assigned kink.

Three Way Call: Baby and the Bees
Blake: (staring at her post-partum body changes while standing in her underwear in front of the mirror) I don't know, Weiss. What if Yang doesn't think I'm.... attractive anymore?
Weiss: (deadpans) You're kidding, right? This is Yang we're talking about. YANG. The Yang who saw you wearing grey sweatpants and a baggy, crop top sweater while you were sick and thought you were the the sexiest thing to hit Remnant since Jinn.
Blake: Yang thought Jinn was hot?
Weiss: Didn't you?
Blake: You thought Jinn was hot????
Weiss: .................Either way. Yang is still going to droll over you no matter what, so stop being so self-conscious.
Blake: Easier said than done.
Weiss: (pulls out her scroll and puts it on speaker)
Yang: (answers her scroll) What's up, Weiss?
Weiss: Blake is naked in your bedroom right now.
-The sound of clattering plastic echoes through the speaker-
Yang: Sorry! Sorry! Dropped my scroll. Say what again????
Weiss: (takes a picture of Blake and hits send)
-More clatters-
Yang: Hhhhoooooooooooooh.....
Weiss: Yang?
Yang: Woof
Weiss: Down, girl. I'm about to take the kids for the night. Have fun. (Hangs up) There. Does that quell your concerns?

Notion: the Ever After *is* the Crown of Choice, and Team RWBY (but especially Ruby) used its power in choosing themselves while they were there.
Maybe CC was some kind of corruption of the relic's avatar?
the crown's vault is hidden here:
Tumblr media
ozpin and his obsession with symbols gives the game away from the beginning; beacon's initiation is an allegorical re-enactment of ozma's mandate:
"it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well"—but partnership is based on "the first person you make eye contact with after landing." that imitates ozma's form of reincarnation. (he isn't able to talk to oscar until oscar makes eye contact with his own reflection, and he doesn't get to choose "the souls with which he [is] paired.")
"you will meet opposition along the way; do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path, or you will die." the grimm in these woods are a stand-in for salem. why would ozpin warn the kids not to hesitate to destroy grimm? because he's remembering how he hesitated regarding salem.
"you will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene." like the god of light watches humankind without intervention while ozma tries to fulfill his task.
the abandoned temple is a metaphor for remnant itself—a godless world abandoned by its divine creators because humanity rejected the gods.
in the abandoned temple are "several relics," and each pair is to "choose one and return to the top of the cliff," where they will be judged—"we will regard that item, and your standing, and grade you appropriately."
<- i wonder where he hid the relic of choice!
moreover, the sheer number of grimm in the forest is alarming—and unusual. there's several ursai, a huge pack of beowolves, a king taijitu, a deathstalker, and a nevermore; in after the fall CFVY get driven to the ruins and then surrounded by large numbers of grimm. contrast RNJR's trek across anima (qrow picking off grimm one or two at a time, long stretches of narrative in between serious encounters) or the uneventful journey from brunswick farm to argus, or the menagerie arc and its complete lack of grimm. or even forever fall forest, with its lone ursa.
the emerald forest is comparable to mountain glenn in terms of grimm density, without the wyvern or the criminal enterprise to draw them to the area. why are there so many grimm in the forest?
the grimm are drawn to the relics. surrounded by population centers, that attraction might be lost in the noise, but if ozpin planted a relic in a vault in the wilderness…? :)
as to the ever after, the cat's domain is knowledge and i'd argue that it's jabber who's associated with choice: he symbolizes the discovery of free will as much as he does the creation of death, in that the brothers made him to fulfill a specific purpose and he became something they did not expect or approve and could not get back under control, and it was at this point that the brothers split between choice-as-duty vs choice-as-freedom which is the foundation of their ideological disagreement.
my wildest and most tenuous guess (i wouldn't even call it a theory because it's largely just vibes-based) is that the spirit in the crown is. prometheus. to wrap everything with salem and cinder and the divine rebellion theme up in a tidy "stole-fire-from-gods" bow
my more grounded theory is that the crown's true power is something akin to the ozian golden cap, which 1. would explain why ozpin is so particularly afraid of salem getting THAT one, and 2. dovetails neatly with the god of light's understanding of choice as a dichotomy between obedience or defiance. the flying monkeys are enslaved by the golden cap and bound to obey any command given by the cap's wearer, up to three times. the relic of choice is a crown, an object that connotes absolute authority. if jinn can answer any question and ambrosius can create anything given the instructions for how to do so, then what is the spirit in the crown bound to do?

Jamil Viper (Jinn!Jamil x civilian!reader)
genre: horror
note: Interpretations of jinn varies depending on experience and personal ideas of it so my experiences and opinions on jinn may differ from others, actions bear similarity to gaslighting tactics, twisted infatuation
summary: He can’t be here. How can something you can’t even see or prove be here. In your house, in your room, and trying to slither into your heart.
series index
Tumblr media
Things weren’t making sense anymore. You thought you were going crazy but your friends did their best to console your nerves.
They told you that you were overthinking but you swore that something was different in your house. Something that couldn’t be explained away by typical sense or reasonable explanations. You lived alone so you would know when something’s amiss in your home.
But at first, you checked it off as your mind being forgetful. You probably forgot that you already cleared the living room of trash.
Perhaps you forgot that you rearranged the ornaments and decorations in your room like you were meaning to.
Maybe you did leave your clothes out the night before which was why it was on your bed when you woke up. With money left in your pockets.
But was it really in your head when you felt warm arms encase you as you slept through the night, every night?
Either way, your friends commended you for getting more organized and put-together but the praise didn’t make you feel better, not when you feel your life being out of your control. While it was helpful, it was getting a little unsettling at times.
It finally reached its peak when your friend invited a classmate to your hangout night, Kalim.
Kalim was a pleasure to be around. He was sweet, optimistic, and always willing to lend a helping hand. It was alway a blast whenever he came over. He was happy to compliment you and your home, even when it started to get hotter as the day went on, even strangely into the night. He was like a breeze of joy that you were glad for considering the anxiety you held in the past weeks.
But that wave of ease left as soon as Kalim and your friends went home.
“I-I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to make you mad”
You cried as the atmosphere in your home turned heavy, as though the presence in your home refuses to let you ignore it like it allowed you to before. Portraits and decor were shaking to the point you were scared that it might fly towards you in anger.
What’s worse was his voice.
“He is not welcomed here”
“He cannot stay. This is not his home”
“This is my home”
A charming and mysterious voice of seems to that of a male penetrated your head, leaving you helpless to his words. It rings throughout and digs deep into your soul until it leaves a mark into your mind. Were it a different situation, you may have found yourself attracted to the melodious tone of such a voice. But now, it sends shivers down your back and you fear the creature’s retribution should you ignore his command.
You felt like an idiot for leaving this be. You came to enjoy the good fortune that you’ve been receiving from the entity. You felt lucky that things had been working in your favor that you didn’t think that there may have been ulterior motives to the strange being’s kindness.
You were a fool to think so.
Suddenly, a pair of lean arms slithered across your waist, reminding you of the movements of snakes. You didn’t look down in fear of what you would see but you recognized this sense of warmth emanating from what vaguely feels like someone’s limbs. You whimper as the same heat that warmed you in the night felt more like dangerous flames close to your body, tempted to burn with each touch.
The voice whispered once more, closer to your ears as though you could imagine the being’s lips dangerously by the shell of your ear.
“This is mine”

Hello dear obikins, and welcome to our fourth day of submissions for our second deadline!
We a nice little batch for you on our ao3 collection today, so feast on these wonderful creations. Don’t forget to leave kudos and comments to show the authors your appreciation!
twitter thread here.
the muse: pleasure in bloom by Anonymous
What would the artist focus on? Because so far, Obi-Wan had surprised him. The artist had focused on the sharp of his Adam’s apple, the muscularity of his back, the sullen scowl of his brow. Anakin didn’t know what he’d expected, unsure what about him would be defined as beautiful or interesting. He knew, faintly, that he was considered attractive, and that the artist was too, but if he analysed it, he came up empty. With the belt off, his jeans fell to the ground.
Serendipity by Anonymous
An accidental discovery on the holonet leads Anakin to a personal discovery about himself. And his Master. The rest, well, that's a happy accident.
and we have two updates!
Chapter 5 of Eight of Cups is up!
Anakin’s knighting ceremony is canceled. Somehow, Qui-Gon Jinn has joined the land of the living again, and the Council is too busy figuring out what to do. Washing their hands off the matter, the Council decides to make Qui-Gon Anakin’s and Obi-Wan’s problem. For Anakin, this is a dream come true (minus the mishap with his knighting). He has always wanted Qui-Gon as his Master. Unlike Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon would understand him. This is his chance to experience what having Qui-Gon as sort-of-Master would be like. The answer is as surprising as it’s disappointing. It sucks a lot. Rather than understanding, Qui-Gon misunderstands everything. Half the (disparaging) stuff Qui-Gon says about Obi-Wan flies over his head, too, but Anakin’s convinced Qui-Gon’s trying to drive a wedge between Obi-Wan and him. So, on second thought, Anakin prefers to remain Obi-Wan’s Padawan. Really, there’s no need to reschedule his knighting ceremony.
Chapter 2 of Tethered and Bound is up!
Anakin and Obi-wan can never catch a break, and this mission is no different. Unfortunately this time their misfortune comes in the form of three Dathomiri witch sisters, a seemingly unbreakable spell with a potentially fatal outcome, a very short time frame, and an extremely oblivious Jedi Master.
If you’d like to speculate on who the authors are, join us in our discord server to chat!

Awhile back, someone asked me what I knew about jinn that affected my perception of the Relic Spirits. Simply put, the closest analogue RWBY has to jinn as presented in both mythology and religious texts, are the Grimm. Prehistoric creatures who arise from nothing/nowhere, who live in their own groups, stronger and faster than humans, preying on (metaphorical) rot, attracted to negative states of mind, and occasionally marrying a predisposed human woman (points at Salem's "marriage" to the Grimm within the Pool).
The Relic Spirits, are just that, anima. Animism is a religious belief system — not an organized religion — that ascribes spirit or spiritual energy to all living things, many aspects of the world, and sometimes common concepts surrounding human nature. It's considered humanity's oldest belief system, found world-wide, and pretty ubiquitous among indigenous populations. Consider a recovering human population who idealized the capacity for making choices, based on knowledge, that might require destroying past things, in order to create new things. This collective belief could easily have generated the four spirits.
We know that animism is a fundamental aspect of RWBY's worldbuilding, not only because an entire continent name provides that cue, but due to the characters belief in aura and semblances. Aura is manifested anima (spirit, soul), and semblance is more explicit exposure of that soul. Indeed, animism is fairly common in western fiction, though it's never called that. (Such as the Force in Star Wars). Aura is not the only evidence, though. The second clue are the faunus.
We have two competing fairy tale explanations for the emergence of the faunus. One is extremely punitive, focusing on a group of humans and sapient animals being forcibly dominated by an unnamed, horned god. It's the sort of story that humans, within an organized religion centered on the Brothers, would tell. Given that RWBY's core narrative rewards choice, and portrays authoritarian behavior negatively, I feel this version is the less reliable of the two, though it does contain at least one very salient detail.
The second version portrays a group of humans who inadvertently travel to a strange, magical land, and are given a choice. They may enter the Shallow Sea, but doing so will reveal their true nature and thereby transform them. Some of the humans are willing to expose their souls this way, others are not. If this story is more reliable, then it absolutely explains the inheritance of traits among faunus.
Now, I take the entire World of Remnant short about the faunus with an entire shaker of salt because it was narrated by Qrow, with results in a fundamentally unreliable narrator because he's human. He even opens with an admission that information is limited. But back to the Shallow Sea. If traits are aspects of anima, rather than genetics, then it makes sense that two spiritually similar parents would produce a like-minded child, but two spiritually dissimilar parents would produce a unique one, a gestalt of select traits being another animal entirely.
All these examples of anima only appeared after the Brother's left Remnant. This tells us that the planet itself is a wellspring of anima and that infuses all life native to it. While the Grimm are alive, are sapient, and I would argue do have souls, they are not of Remnant. Neither are Salem and Ozma, until his spirit begins hitching rides within the bodies of humans 2.0. And if the Brothers weren't able to create humans with aura, then it suggests they're alien interlopers, though it's possible they're the equivalent of unruly, inexperienced children who eventually went back home. (Witness the two suns within the Ever After).
I do not believe the Brothers created anything beyond the Grimm and Humans 1.0. They came upon a nascent world, brimming with aura, and populated by sapient (talking) animals, and colonized it with complete disregard for whom or whatever might already be in charge. They decided to come up with their own superior being, and ultimately threw a tantrum when their experiment didn't work. Because the planet itself has its own core anima, it's own god... of animals.
Ultimately, humans are just talking animals. If we follow the logic of the Shallow Sea, the faunus are't humans with extra animal parts; humans 2.0 are faunus who are missing theirs because their ancestors balked at exposing their souls in such a fashion. Other World of Remnant videos note that as humans 2.0 spread, they came into conflict with faunus, suggesting the latter were in those regions first, which makes sense if their existence is more harmonious with the planet's core system.
Regardless of who bumped that human population back up, we have already seen one of those missing talking animals in the Ever After, and I think we'll see the God of Animals — the planet's own primary anima — while the protagonists are there. Some tea will be served. The four spirits of human nature will eventually be freed from the shackles imposed by the Brother Light, because they are meant to interact will all of humanity, not enslavement to serve an unwitting jailor. Indeed, Brother Light would not have enslaved the four spirits of human nature if Remnant's anima weren't a dire threat to the Brothers' control.
I think, that when the time comes, the entire planet will face those Brothers and say, "You have no power over me."

A Dyad in the Force (Obi-Wan Kenobi x Reader) - Chapter 1
Tumblr media
~Chapter 1~
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...
The engines roared as the Nubian Royal Starship flew across the stars. They were rapidly approaching a large, desert planet, one that laid far beyond the outskirts of the Trade Federation.
"That's it. Tatooine... there's a settlement," The young man with the long braid said, looking out at the planet they were approaching. He was dressed in tan robes, with a brown cloak around his body. The rest of his hair was tied back into a ponytail, resting on the back of his head.
A taller, older man with long brown hair looked at the boy, speaking in a low, coarse voice, "Land near the outskirts. We don't want to attract attention."
The ship slowly entered the planet's atmosphere, proceeding to make its landing in the desert. As the ship steadily landed on the sand and the engines' roars died out, the young man suddenly felt something, as if an invisible force was tugging from inside of him. Just as he was about to question it, the door suddenly opened and the older man, Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn, walked into the room. He quickly dismissed his thoughts and looked up at Qui-Gon, "The hyperdrive generator's gone, Master," the young padawan, or Obi-Wan, spoke, "We'll need a new one."
Qui-Gon let out a soft sigh, "That'll complicate things," he looked in the other direction before looking back at his padawan, "Be wary. I sense a disturbance in the Force." Obi-Wan perked up a little, realizing that it wasn't just him who felt the shift, "I feel it also, Master." Qui-Gon nodded in response, "Don't let them send any transmissions." And with that, the Jedi Master left, leaving the young man to deal with the ship.
Obi-Wan nodded softly and took a few steps back, trying to figure out what exactly to do next. While his head said to continue checking the ship, his heart was saying something different. He felt the Force calling him to something, but what? He tried to ignore it and keep working, but the call was too much to bear. After a moment of hesitation, Obi-Wan sighed in defeat and walked around the ship, trying to find a decent spot to meditate in. He hoped that by clearing his mind he would find peace and would be able to continue his work.
Obi-Wan soon found himself a small closet, sitting cross-legged on the ground with his hands resting on his thighs. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, focusing on his breathing as he felt the Force around him. He slowly began to levitate off the floor as he ventured deeper into the Force. He began to see glimpses of his Master, the handmaiden, the Gungan, and the droid as they walked around Mos Espa, trying to search for a shop that had their needed parts.
"The few spaceports like this one are havens for those that don't wish to be found."
"Like us."
The young Jedi aimed to continue watching, but suddenly he felt a very strong call in the Force. The images suddenly changed from those of his Master to those of an unknown figure. Darkness began to surround him, and he levitated higher off the ground.
Obi-Wan walked over to the mysterious silhouette, readying his lightsaber just in case. He slowly approached, saying only one thing, "Who are you?"
The person quickly turned around and snarled at him, revealing themselves to be a beautiful woman with golden eyes. She quickly drew her red lightsaber and struck at Obi-Wan, with him just barely countering the attack. He strained softly as he pushed against the lightsaber, "You're.. You're a sith!" He growled softly and looked into her eyes, and suddenly everything stopped.
The woman disappeared, leaving Obi-Wan alone. He looked around and saw images of someone who appeared to be an older version of him, along with a girl who looked oh so similar to the Sith he just fought.
Future Obi-Wan held the girl in his arms, "Starlight...promise me you'll be safe, ok? I couldn't-"
The image quickly whisked away into another, one of him sitting across from the girl, "Y/n, look at me. You can do this. You can find the-"
Just like before, the vision went away before he could see the full moment. Obi-Wan looked around, extremely confused, "Wait..who is she?-"
"Obi-Wan.." A female voice called out, "Obi-Wan..."
Obi-Wan looked around, desperately trying to find the source of the voice, "Hello??"
"Obi-Wan...Obi-Wan....OBI-WAN!"
Obi-Wan's eyes shot open as he plummeted to the ground, barely catching himself with the Force. He panted as he wiped the sweat off of his forehead, looking around him. Who was that woman? And why was he with her? Attachments were forbidden by the Jedi Code, so why did he appear to be close to her?
Obi-Wan shook his head as he stood up, walking out of the closet and going outside, trying to rid his mind of the non-stop questions. Once out of the ship, he took a deep breath as he looked around him, "Sand...some buildings...more sand...sand again..." The young Jedi sighed, "...not sure why I came out here, honestly. It's just sand."
As he prepared to turn around and head back inside, he felt it again- the tug within the Force. He quickly scanned the area, stopping when he felt it again. Obi-Wan bit his lip and looked back at the ship, hesitating for a moment before he began to run, following where the Force was beckoning him to go.
---
You suddenly froze as you felt something tight in your chest. Dropping the pieces of metal you were sorting, you immediately run outside of the dusty, old shop, and look out on the street. Breathing heavily, you take a look around, unable to shake the tug which is relentlessly pulling from inside of you. That was the second time you had felt that strange sensation today. As you were trying to focus on the feeling, you sensed a familiar presence coming from behind you. You furrowed your brows as you heard him approach.
"Y/n, get bata tah work! Mee did nopa give u permission tah leave do post!," The shop owner said to you in Huttese, in the ever threatening tone he always spoke in.
You growled softly, your eyes hueing into the yellow shade of gold without you knowing. You snapped your head back at the owner, "I'll be there when I'll be there!" You breathed heavily as you could feel your anger rising.
The shop owner wasn't having it. He simply glared at you and said, "Noah, ateema! Mo else u won't get do portion che do week!"
You looked down, your anger growing as you realized you couldn't win. You swiftly stormed back into the shop, your eyes glowing brighter and deeper with each second. How you longed for the day when you could get out of there; burn that dusty old shop down to the ground and leave. As many times as you planned to attempt that, you always remembered the one crucial fact keeping you from fulfilling your dream: you had a tracking device inside of you. All the slaves had one. And you knew that even if you were able to execute your revenge, you would be blown up in an instant.
Hating the very meaning of your existence, you went back to your work station and continued sorting the pieces of scrap metal, the darkness only growing inside of you. The other slaves could only cower in fear and move stations as the gold in your eyes shimmered, seeming so light but yet exuding so much darkness.
---
Obi-Wan continued to run into the town, his cloak flapping as he quickly followed the Force. "Hot," he grumbled, "Why does it have to be so hot??" He stopped for a moment to breathe, wiping the sweat from his forehead as he looked around. Just as he was about to continue running, his eyes suddenly caught a glimpse of a small store that sat on the corner of the street.
"Obi-Wan.." He heard a voice say from inside his head.
Obi-Wan breathed heavily as he started walking towards the store.
"Obi.."
The Force beckoned the young Jedi towards the store. With every step he took, Obi-Wan could feel another tug within his heart. As he finally entered the shop, a shiver went down his spine as he immediately sensed the darkness coming from nearby. As the shop owner approached him, Obi-Wan quickly dismissed him before moving towards the back of the store, searching for the source of darkness, of which the likes he had never felt before.
In a moment of pure connection, Obi-Wan suddenly felt a Force signature wrap around his, and he realized that it was the one of the girl in front of him; you. He took a deep breath and approached you, not standing so close as to avoid startling you, "Excuse me, miss?"
---
You had sensed a strange presence ever since he had entered the shop, but you were struggling to put your finger on exactly what it was. Within a moment, you felt as if a part of your soul had just been intertwined with another. Before you could even question the sensation you just experienced, you heard a voice coming from behind you.
Annoyed that you were disrupted from both your work and your thoughts, you snapped your head towards him, and your deep yellow eyes met his soft blue ones.
The moment the two of you locked eyes, it was as if the entire galaxy had suddenly stopped. As if life itself had ended, and was reborn with the two of you. You hadn't the slightest idea of what was truly going on, but you felt a light inside of you. One that wasn't there before.
Obi-Wan, on the other hand, could sense the sheer darkness coming from you. Out of pure instinct, he reached for his lightsaber, wanting to rid of this evil for the good of the Force. However, the Force itself quickly stopped him, calling him to focus on you. As he truly looked into your eyes once more, he noticed how the color was changing.
As you felt the warmth and light inside of you, the yellow in your eyes indeed began to fade. It wasn't long before they were the beautiful shade of y/c that they always were. The ones that shined as bright as the twin suns you saw each day.
Obi-Wan let his hand pass by his lightsaber and he quickly cleared his throat, smiling softly, "Hello there."
You gave a small smile back, "Hello.." This was the first time you truly had a chance to take him in. Your eyes immediately caught on to the long braid hanging over his right shoulder; you had never seen anything like it. You followed the braid up and soon found yourself looking into his eyes again. You had seen thousands of eyes in your lifetime, but never any as beautiful as the ones right in front of you. Never in your life have you seen such a beautiful shade of blue.
Obi-Wan noticed you staring, and he chuckled softly, causing you to quickly look down and go back to your work. The young Jedi stood next to you, looking at you with a warm smile, "So..what's your name?"
"Y/n," You replied, not looking up from your work. Did you actually wanna be working? Absolutely not; but it was better than embarrassing yourself again.
Obi-Wan sighed softly, "What's your last name?" He paused, waiting for your answer only to be waiting for nothing. He looked at you, "..you know you can look at me, right? I promise I don't bite."
You took a deep breath, hesitating for a moment before turning to look at him, "I don't have a last name. It's just Y/n."
Obi-Wan had a softer expression on his face, "Really?" He looked down as you nodded in response, "I see...so, where are you from?" Was he trying to get information to give to the council? Yes, yes he was. It was his duty as a Padawan and a Jedi. Although honestly. he also wanted to get to know you for himself. He was so intrigued by you, and just by being at your side, he was feeling something he had never felt before.
You sighed, "You're really asking me every question possible, aren't you?"
"I'm sorry, I could-"
"No, it's fine." You said, "But just to warn you, I'm not that interesting."
Obi-Wan knew that was a lie, but he continued to listen to you nonetheless.
You took a deep breath in, feeling a little defeated, "I don't know where I'm from, ok?"
"Well..what about your family?"
"I DON'T-" You groaned before taking a deep breath, trying to stay calm, "I don't have a family, got it? For as long as I can remember, it's always been me." You looked down as you remembered the few small glimpses you had of your childhood. You don't recall a father ever being there, but you do remember your mother. She was beautiful and kind, but she was weak. She couldn't protect herself against the dangers of Tatooine. As much as she 'tried' to protect you by hiding you away, you sometimes wished she would've kept you with her. That you wouldn't have been found and that you never would've become a slave. You curled your fists, your eyes beginning to turn yellow again as you felt the darkness come back.
Obi-Wan could sense your emotions and pain through the newly formed bond, but he knew better than to read your mind and find out what was troubling you. So, he decided that he would try to comfort you. He stepped closer, but before he could say anything, the shop owner came back over, glaring at Obi-Wan, "U ya! Why are u talking gee myo shag! She sa supposed tah be working! Ateema either bedwana something mo leave myo shop!"
The young Jedi looked back at him, raising his hand, "You will-"
"You will leave us alone!" You looked at the owner, your eyes glowing yellow. As you spoke, you suddenly felt a strong sense of power rush through you. You smirked softly as you let the darkness consume you for a short moment.
The shop owner spoke back, "Mee will leave u solo." He turned and walked away without saying a word more.
Obi-Wan simply looked at you, stunned speechless after what you had just done. More importantly, he could sense the immense darkness coming from you, and it worried and terrified him at the same time.

Paranormal Star Review
Title: Urban Academy #3 Semester 3
Author: Mazzy J. March
Pages:101
Rating:⭐⭐⭐(3/5)
Synopsis: There’s someone after me. My body knows. My senses know. They are after me, and they won’t stop until I succumb. I have enough going on without this new facet of my life. I have three guys who all are trying to claim me in one way or the other. I have school. I have a job at the bar, and, I still fill in at night for the academy, as their janitor. Then there’s the suitemate who reminds me that I’m human every five seconds. Some days I think we’re friends. Others, I lock my door at night. It’s our thing. My scent is getting me in trouble. Yeah, I knew that shifters scented their mate in different ways, but I’m attracting a whole hell of a lot more than shifters.
Jinns, warlocks, demons, shifters, and vampires alike are flocking to the bar for a look and maybe a grab at what one alpha called the new, ripe peach in the Moonlight. I’m wearing the amulet Josephine told me to but it doesn’t seem to deter the perverts. Being walked home by Storm, someone attacks us. I scream. I flail. I trip, fall and hit my head. I see blood on my hands and hear ringing in my ears. Whoever has been stalking me has finally caught their prey–and their prey is me. I was just about ready to accept Storm as my second mate…but I may have waited too long.

so i'd like to clear up a little something for non-muslim viewers of ms. marvel!
djinn are an actual concept in islam, but they're not what the show says there are.
before i explain, there are two points of view when it comes to things like this; religion and culture.
religion is what we believe, and culture is what our beliefs are sometimes confused with.
when i talk about culture here, i'm refering to the pakistani culture i grew up with. and when i talk about religion, i'm refering to proven facts that i've read while studying my religion.
so in culture, we believe that jinns are 'evil' beings. doing certain things like whistling summons them, and you must take precautions to keep them out of your house. i'm sure that when muslim-desi kids complain that they've lost something, their moms go "oh, so some jinn came along and stole it?". or perhaps when you met up with your cousins at a family gathering, you all exchanged "jinn stories" that your aunts and uncles told you.
but in religeon, jinns aren't evil! some of them may be, yes, but they can be compared to humans; and many humans are evil themselves. jinns are beings created from "fire" and live amongst us everywhere. we obviously can't see them, but they can see us. they do things as we do and live as we live; they have their own beliefs and families and everything! they're attracted to places like mosques and madresas.
different kinds of muslims - depending on which imam you follow and what country you're from - have different kinds of beliefs and culture. i'm simply sharing what i've learnt, and if you, as a muslim, disagree or have different beliefs, thats fine! but dont go around shunning other muslims and saying they're wrong.
and that's some background knowledge for you ms marvel fans!

Why wasn’t ruby’s question to jinn “what is salem and ozpin hiding?” a lot of jinns story was from both their perspectives and it was weird that ozpin knew so much of what happened to salem without her own personal bias…
It really was just an excuse to have an exposition dump around the college level gods story that MK really wanted to do, rather than actually giving us interesting characterisation for both Ozpin and Salem.
'Cause what we got was all the mystery around Ozpin boiling down to a traumatised abused man trying his best to protect the world from his abusive wife, who murdered him and his children, and a sexist bunch of tropes of a woman who was just too emotional to think logically and bumbled through her story and now wants to die ig??
And the gods are assholes. Great Greek storytelling there.
I honestly would've had the story without the gods. It just over complicated the story by adding another set of Big Bads after Salem did that to Cinder, and actively takes away Salem's agency because she's now just reacting to what all the men around her had done.
Especially since Ozpin didn't see half of what happened in the actual flashback. How can he hide something that he doesn't know? Now we got our heroes forcibly dragging someone's abusive past out, getting mad at THEM for not being able to defeat their abusive ex, physically and verbally assaulting them right after retraumatising them, and then not once showing any sympathy for him until they had to do shit without him.
Who does that remind me of? Oh, it's Blake. It's literally Blake.
The girl who hid her abusive past with an evil ex, who wants to kill her and all of humanity, and can't beat him until her friends actively show her support and understanding despite how her fuck ups personally impacted them.
The difference is how the show treats them. Blake is constantly coddled even when she's being told off, the worst done to her is Sun explaining to her how her mentality is bad for her and her friends right after waking up from nearly dying, Yang letting go of her anger long before Blake returns and only getting annoyed when she actively infantilises her, and everyone understanding why Blake left and being all happy smiles when she comes back.
But with Ozpin, everyone immediately suspects him when they find out he gave Qrow and Raven the ability to turn into birds, a power that has no downsides and is actively a gift that Qrow does not care, meaning they're overreacting again. Then they get annoyed when he keeps the secret of the relic attracting Grimm, something that isn't brought up again in the show even with them having the lamp out in the open for the rest of the time they had it.
And then they forcibly get an outside force to tell them his past, something that Ozpin/Ozma does not want to tell them because it's fucking traumatising, and then they get angry at him without any ounce of empathy for the shit he went through.
Like??? These are our heroes???? Okay.

Read your post about spirit keeping. Thank you!!! Someone has got to say it! Buying spirits is unethical!
Buying a person/entity/spirit/any sentient pragmatically never sounds right no matter how someone tries to spin it.
I mean, the whole idea is supposedly trapping/binding someone to an object and selling them for some stranger to take interest and buy them -- leaving it up to the imagination of how bad or good it can go.
I find the whole concept sad when I also see a scenario when an up and coming "spirit keeper" say, "My demon/angel/jinn came in the mail today!" I find the whole concept just depressing if a spirit is sold to play the role as your friend/parent figure/lover, etc. I find it also creepy when someone sells a presumed spirit for wealth, power, and sex -- and it attracts a certain individual to that "product."
It can also be a parasite who sells this idea to an unsuspecting conjuror and it ends up in someone's life doing heaven knows what.
...
...Or, they're talking to no one and it's all a scam.
NOW, the only thing I can agree with is helping someone introduce themselves, and helping on discerning a spirit/entity that stepped forward upon request for a companion to work with...then seeing where it goes with healthy boundaries and solid house rules.
I like to tell people: spirit work is like meetup.com -- not Ebay. (Which ironically is where a lot of them do that kind of stuff too)
--
Edit:
(In response to a reply)
I would highly suggest you look into my other posts about my thoughts about spirit keeping covering more on this.
Take it with a grain of salt. ----- That is NOT what binding is. It is not simply giving someone your phone number, as it was lightly put. Binding is the practice of tethering someone's energy to an item in ties with that person or to the person directly themselves. It is King Solomon style of "connecting" with spirits. Binding can also a very intimate action that requires one-on-one consent with time and lots of effort. It's like a marriage if you want to see it that way.
I do understand that there are a few hearted conjurors who may have utilized this method to do the job of using money for the vetting process, but it is never necessary to bind a spirit to a stranger or to an item, and expect/demand complacency and a bond because you spent good money for it.
The classic spirit keeping scenario still paints as an example of someone snatching a bird from its habitat and putting it in a cage and "finding it a good home for someone."
I think of the scene of Finding Nemo where the human abducted Nemo and claimed he "saved him," and tried to give the fish away to an irresponsible owner.
Tumblr media
I personally never seen a seller discern the person's energy whom they're giving the spirit to either. They just take the money and give it to then without a thought, and I've seen so many cases of people abusing the spirit/entity, or the person's life crumble down due to the spirit/entity enacting revenge. I always encourage people to please not bind a spirit to anything or anyone, because that's not what binding is. ... I recommend these as good starting points if you're interested, and these are just few examples. -Make offerings, but make sure you aren't being pushed to always give something and not have anything in return. -Go outside your house and see your local spirits. One or two might want to connect with you and be attracted to your energy and personality. -Ask for god(s) or a powerful entity/spirit for protection as you ask for a spirit/entity to step through and seek companionship on their own will. (You can repeat this process with different spirits that you feel that's coming through, you don't have to settle with the first spirit/entity but make sure you thank them for coming after a few moments of introduction. I recommend meditating first. --- If these sound underwhelming or less grandiose to you, then maybe reconsider and reevaluate what you really want in the connection. NOW, if a spirit wants to bind with you off the bat, exercise caution -- that'll be for your safety. Some are strong enough to wield power over your energy. ... Another thing is "matching." I hardly find that true -- so why are they still advertising the spirit on what you're getting. You want a "vampire lord?" You can just search it up on the search box and find your "best match." You want a faerie because you personally love and are hyper fixated on faeries? Filter the search box again and "find your best match." Maybe you can say you feel pinged to their energy and all that, but please, exercise pragmatic approaches too. If I see a seller who sells the service of you filling out an application and taking the time to find the right companion for you instead and see whoever comes out? I might say that's much better, but it takes a lot of vetting on your part to discern what the conjuror picks for you too and hoping it's not going to be a toxic relationship. There's also always that mentioned emphasis on what is safe for the person in question who owns a spirit, but never the context of the spirit who's also needs safety in connection with certain people. We can wield as much harm to some of these spirits/entities as they can harm us. Keep that in mind.

Fandom Snowflake Challenge #14
Introduction Post* Meet the Mods Post * Challenge #1 * Challenge #2 * Challenge #3 * Challenge #4 * Challenge #5 *Challenge #6 * Challenge #7 * Challenge #8 * Challenge #9 * Challenge 10 * Challenge 11 * Challenge 12 * Challenge 13*
Remember that there is no official deadline, so feel free to join in at any time, or go back and do challenges you've missed.
I love how Snowflake inspires fans to leave their comfort zones and fly away from the mother ship. Fic readers discover writing talents, soon to be followed by illustrating fics, even sketching doodles from their own stories to show all the in-between steps of Loki shapeshifting into a mare. (It's canon!) So today is the day to spread your wings.
Challenge #14 Try something new. Post your answer to today’s challenge in your own space and leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Do you read fic? Then how about writing a little 'missing moment' scene, such as the day after Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn describes his ever-eager Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi as merely competent in Phantom Menace? Dip a toe into a community related to your interest to share insights, write a ship/fandom/character manifesto or just plain gab. If you listen to podcasts, explore one in a new fandom.
How about making icons or vids? Feeling fannish broadens horizons, so remix your own fic, bake that Death Star cake, crochet an awesome Kermit The Frog cap or write an unpopular character. You'll get creative juices flowing in cosplaying or planking to the tune of I'm Just Ken.
Extra added attraction: anything you do may be used for Challenge #11, Create A Fanwork!
As for me, I am a mod for the first time ever on the internet. *insert echo effect*
Check out the comments for all the awesome participants of the challenge and visit their journals/challenge responses to comment on their posts and cheer them on. (And because we were gifted with paid time for the month of January, you can search comments! So don’t forget to list the fandom(s) in your comment so people can search for it.)
And just as a reminder: this is a low pressure, fun challenge. If you aren't comfortable doing a particular challenge, then don't. We aren't keeping track of who does what.
