Finding myself bored this evening, I will do a completely useless analysis no one asked for in this longish post. Since this show will never leave me alone and neither will my years long obsession with old ocean liners (especially the ones laying at the bottom of the ocean), here it is:

I don't know how it is today (the new cruise ships are no longer a thing of beauty to me, even though I've seen a similar thing there too), but at the time, every steamship company had its color displayed on the ship's funnels. We had major rivial companies such as Cunard Line, White Star Line, and Norddeutscher Lloyd.

Cunard Line ships had their familiar mostly dark red funnels with a black top.

White Star Line ships' funnels were yellowish with the black top.

And we also have the example of Norddeutscher Lloyd ships having full yellow funnels.

Now, these colors were there so that you could tell the difference, aka which company does a certain ship belong to (among other things such as design, call sign, etc), unless it's painted in dark gray or black war colors or as hospital ships.

Now, I don't know if Bo and Jantje or other people involved in the show went that deep into all of this, but the show doesn't follow these rules. Here, we have Prometheus and Kerberos belonging to the same company, but having different colored funnels. Kerberos red and Prometheus yellow. You can clearly see it in multiple shots, like the archive or the poster itself, and there's also a sketch:

You can see the real examples in history, such as the White Star Line: Titanic and Olympic (yellow with black top)

Cunard Line: Lusitania and Mauretania (this is particularly interesting because it was said by the people involved in the show that Kerberos was based off of Lusitania) red with black top

Or Norddeutscher Lloyd: Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse (all yellow)

So, looking at the show following these rules, it would suggest Prometheus and Kerberos did not operate for the same company. But it's obvious those rules do not apply in the show, and I don't think the reason for that was that the showrunners didn't care, know, or find it relevant, I think it's simply because it was important for the audience to see the difference between these two ships. The difference is quite obvious when the Prometheus was found, since it was all dark and only floating, while the Kerberos was fully operating. On the other hand, in the graveyard, aka the archive, without the different funnels, it's impossible to tell the difference. I am convinced that the difference between them is very, very important for the plot. I have already written about that, so I will not repeat myself. Anyway, enough with the useless trivia.

It has been established that Yoda's species has an incredibly long lifespan, and age very slowly, both physically and mentally, as Grogu is roughly 50 and still acts and looks like a toddler.

Bear with me, now. that would make Grogu, and other young Yodas very vulnerable for quite a period of time. Grogu would make quite the tasty morsel for say a Golden Eagle.

Now, take Humans, for example, when they're born they are soft, squishy, can't do shit, gotta feed them, and whatever. But Yoda's species is almost certainly reptilian, Grogu's parents laid some slimy eggs some place and left. Yoda's are sort of frog-like, but I, for some reason, don't picture them laying frogspawn, it's far too vulnerable.

Instead, I suggest, they lay their eggs like sea turtles, and, once a year, hundreds of Yodas crawl out of the sand and rush towards the water. Perhaps such an event where Intergalactic Geographic films it for their nature documentaries.

In Conclusion, the Star Wars universe probably has those nature documentaries where they have a 10 minute segment of baby Yodas being devoured by seabirds and crabs. Which may also explain why there's so few of them.

Mermaid Things...(pt. 1?)

So, I was sketching as one does and like I normally do I was sketching mermaids. So, I began thinking about cute little things mermaids would have or do. I am a firm lover of fantasy mermaids, so this is not realistic at ALL.

🧜���‍♀️Coral Hairclips! Like,, the claws some ppl put in their hair but coral. I feel like that would be such a cute little mermaid invention. Imagine a mermaid trying to,, idk,, heal a little baby seal and their hair getting in the way. The coral claw clip!!!! I also thought about a clam clip but the coral one feels cuter. ALSO!!! CORAL CURLERS.

🧜🏽‍♀️Clam Press. The underwater silk presses. Like that is such a cute idea right? Ever since I was little, I loved Barbie and I believe there's one where she pretends to work at a hair salon for some reason. So, I constantly am thinking of hair inventions it seems. ANYWAYS,, yes you take the clam, close it on the hair strand, and pull. In fictional perfect mermaid world, straight hair!

🧜🏼‍♀️Octopus/Squid hair dye? Imagine, a mermaid wants their hair dyed. I feel like there are probably a lot of ideas someone could come up with for how fictional fish ppl would change their hair, but my wrinkle-less brain isn't cut out for it. What it is cut out for is this. Take some ink from whatever Cephalopods and mix it with something of the desired color. For example, ink and purple coral. Grind up the coral and mix it with the ink. Hair Dye!

(A little off topic, I have this octopus character that works at a Spa and Salon and he is overworked, underpaid, has many children and is a single father. But he loves his job and he uses his own ink to make the dye. He is orange.)

🧜🏾‍♀️Seaweed Wrap. This one is so, so overused but I love it! A merperson wrapped in seaweed. The results? Shinier tail, softer skin, glowy skin, maybe more???
