Hi idk if this is a stupid question or not but I just want to know, I saw you had a gifts from the universe post or something like that and it talked about fictional characters and such, so with that does that mean I can manifest a fictional character into my reality? Like this reality? I was always told I couldn't do that and if I can omg I'm gonna cry happy tears haha 😭💖
hi hi! not a stupid question at ALL, seriously! you absolutely frickin' can manifest a fictional character in your reality! 🥰 isn't that so exciting!? your childhood dreams are about to pop off hehe. this is a much longer post than i expected because i kinda just rant, but i hope it's helpful.
so, i found reality shifting through the self-ship community, then i found law of assumption through the reality shifting community, and then found non-dualism through the law of assumption community. if there is ONE thing i want everyone to take away from ANY of these teachings/communities (regardless of which ones you follow and resonate with) it is that anything that you can imagine, you can experience.
we are the creators. we are the experiencers. we are. the thing about "fictional characters" is that, as the creators of our lives, we as humans have also created whole other worlds with lore and characters, right? if you are aware of the these worlds, their lore, their wonderful characters, then they absolutely exist, right now, because they were created by us. if you are holding them in your imagination, they are here, because you as imagination is all that there is. and that means, if you are imagining them to be in your "real world" reality, then they can absolutely show up here.
now if someone told you that you can't manifest fictional characters into your reality and they were in the law of assumption community, they do not understand what the law of assumption is all about. i mean, it's in the name of the teaching, "assumption," right? what you ASSUME to be true, will be true. if you assume that fictional characters can come into your reality, then that'll be true! eep i'm getting so exciting even just thinking about this, haha! i have nothing but respect and love for the reality shifting community because they opened up my societally-conditioned perspective to a lot of possibilities and changes, but a lot of people in the shifting community have many limiting beliefs about what is possible. the truth is, if you can shift your consciousness to be in a "fictional" freaking world, then you can do just about anything in this world too, right? people believe that they can shift to entirely "made up" worlds that they script, but they don't believe that they can alter their "current reality" with the same scripting techniques, even though they absolutely can and none of it is different from reality shifting to a "fake" world. it's all possible, regardless of the reality you are experiencing!
as proof from my own experience, i actually have a fictional character i brought into my life! in my case, i was hyperfixating on this fictional character who was an absolutely nasty evil dirt bag but i was sooo in love with him (classic lmao). in the beginning i wasn't even trying to bring him here, i was just trying to "reality shift" to meet him and come back to my "current reality" where i was safe because i knew he was a toxic man i should have no business being with haha. i knew i didn't want him in my reality because he was, well, evil, but i did wanna visit him and hang in a "different reality" for a period of time. i always told myself, "i wish there was a version of this character that would just love the shit out of me and not be so evil, one that i actually would love to have around every day..." and every night i would try to reality shift to a world to hang out with him despite this thought in my head. i never felt disappointed when i woke up in my CR because the joy i had was in visualizing hanging out before bed. it felt really real in the moment, just daydreaming and feeling silly and sweet, and it brought me so much happiness - as daydreams should!
i never ended up shifting my awareness to that reality, because something even better happened. since i imagined meeting him and spending time with him every night and persisted in the idea that i would eventually reality shift, i ended up manifesting a person into my life who had every quality that i loved in the evil character WITHOUT the evilness, and he ended up being my best friend and one of my partners! this person showed up in my life and completely flipped my world around, bring me everything that the fictional character had brought me in my imagination. like, everything, minus the bad stuff that i didn't want. it was the first case of manifesting that i had ever been super conscious of achieving, and it changed my whole perspective on the practice. i also immediately stopped caring about the old character i had been manifesting because i was so obsessed with this new person in my life LOL. it was pure magic!!
now, i realize that this is not at exact example of your question, as you're asking if you can bring a fictional character into this reality exactly as they are. and guess what? you absolutely can. the only reason i didn't bring this exact character into my reality was because i wanted a different version of him to show up, but if i had wanted him to show up exactly as he was, he would have! i wanted to give you this as an example of something like this so you can see the possibilities, but don't let the fact that it wasn't the exact fictional character deter you - my fictional person showed up exactly as i wanted him to, and yours can too! you can even make them better! 😎 hehe
this was a long-assed post, but i hope it brought some joy and excitement. please remember: you can do, be, and have any frickin' thing you want in this life, if your beautiful mind can dream it up! dream beautiful dreams and know that absolutely everything is possible! so much love 💗

MY THOUGHTS - HALLOWEEN EVENT: SPECTRAL SOIREE
[Spoilers for a Twisted Halloween: Spectral Soiree under the cut!!]
OKAY, SO...
I started playing TWST around February/March time this year, so I haven't been able to play the first Halloween event from last year. Though I'm missing context from what happened in the previous event, I still enjoyed playing through the story. There were some good moments during the story and really seemed like the stakes were high, but I can't help feel that the ending diminished that and left me feeling unsure. The ending twistune was super cute! It was nice seeing everyone come together and I did find the ending humorous, but also wished it had leaned into those high stakes more and have actual consequences for it?
I haven't seen many people posting about this event. I thought there'd be more posts about it since it's a new second part - I didn't realise until much later on that the EN server already had the event later last year. Why would they re-release it in August?? It's such a strange choice, but I've seen many people theorize they did it to prepare for the Masquerade event, which might be next (I will scream if it is i have been SO EXCITED to play this!!) and will hopefully happen either in September or October. We will have to wait and see...
Anyways,
Short story short, I liked the event. The never-ending Halloween concept was super cool and the ghost fights and possessions really upped the stakes, making for a really suspenseful and fun story. There were several memorable moments throughout, one of my favourites being when Leona and Ace were trying to get Floyd to not touch a possible dangerous artifact and Ace questioning Leona's entire party boat story afterwards. I really loved the group pairings in the spectral realm, it was so nice to see the different dynamics and interactions they had with one another. Riddle, Ruggie and Ortho's conversations about adventures and puzzles were so sweet!
Speaking of puzzles and escape rooms...
I can't help but feel a little bit pissed off at Lilia and Malleus for putting them through all this. But then again, they didn't know what was going down behind the scenes and weren't informed of the ghost fights, so they're not entirely in the wrong for that.
But they DID make it incredibly cryptic in the worst way possible, to the point where even the teachers were concerned. Students vanishing into thin air, appearing to be kidnapped, is not something that'll get taken lightly. Especially when Lilia was yelling outside Silver's dorm, seemingly getting kidnapped too. That really must've fucked him up, especially since no-one else heard him scream. I felt so sorry for him - he genuinely thought his father was in danger the entire time, only to find out he was helping Malleus host a grand party for the ghosts. Obviously I'm glad they ended up being okay but MAN that wasn't fair on him. Sebek as well - they both thought Lilia and Malleus were in peril and were so genuinely distraught over the whole situation, it made me pretty annoyed that they didn't think through Silver and Sebek's reaction to something like this.
On the one hand, it was the ghosts' fault for fighting and possessing students. On the other hand, Malleus and Lilia are also to blame for the setup of the 'prank'. And on the other other hand it was also technically the students' fault for fighting the ghosts in the first place, but when you're put into such a seemingly dangerous and unpredictable situation, you go straight into fight or flight mode. I don't blame them for reacting the way they did.
That aside, I also kinda wished that the event was actually that dangerous, that Lilia and Malleus really WERE possessed. Imagine if there was an actual boss fight. An actual enemy. Someone who genuinely DID want an eternal Halloween, and needed the mirror shards to create a mirror portal to the human realm and take over even more bodies of the living. A ghost uprising if you will.
Imagine the teachers and the few survivors having to fight off an entire army of possessed students with a genuine intent to harm.
Imagine Malleus and Lilia being genuine threats and holding the prefect and Grim captive while everyone is trying to fight back without overblotting.
...That might be a little overkill.
BUT.
It would've been interesting to see actual consequences arise from this. I can especially imagine the prefect being really affected by the Spectral Realm.
They're already in a world that's not their own, so being thrown into that world's literal afterlife would really mess them up - whether emotionally or maybe even physically. Maybe they get really sick once they get back, maybe they were (unknowingly?) on the verge of disappearing permanently. Maybe that's why they were so worried about joining Malleus and Lilia. Because they were scared of what could happen to them, Grim not really understanding that. I love that Ace was so concerned about them both, he really is a great friend and I kinda wished these concerns were brought up a bit more.
Anyways, if you've made it this far thank you for reading!!
Feel free to add on to this, I'd love to know your thoughts and opinions! ♡

Wire Witch Hex - Wearing Many Hats (Font Design)
Lately most of the traffic I'm getting on this blog has been people stumbling onto my multipart series on how a computer works. Glad people are enjoying that as much as they seem to be. My reason for teaching myself all of that (besides just the joy of learning) is I'm very slowly working on designing a new video game console that anyone sufficiently motivated can build for themselves as a neat little DIY project. There are so many moving parts to this project that for now I'm focusing mainly on just the controller and its unique features. To avoid having to make a whole working console, with software, to test it, and make sure I have something to show for all this if the rest doesn't pan out, I'm designing the controller to also be more or less compatible with the NES and SNES (which secretly use the same input standard, just differently shaped plugs at the end of the cord).
This means all I'll need to test and demo my controller is an SNES ROM that knows what to do with my scroll-wheel outputs, a setup where an emulator accurately handles those signals, and later a cart I can slap a couple EEPROMs into and test on real hardware. Oh and I also need to teach myself enough about SNES development to actually create every demo I want to run, do all the art, code it up, and compile it. This is a big job, and I'm not getting paid, so maybe consider throwing me a little money before we dig into this?
Since... really the last time I reported in on this, I've been studying away trying to learn all this, and hey, have a compiled ROM image that'll display a blank screen in any color I want, and a third party program that IN THEORY with a bit of massaging will convert a 256x256 image into an SNES character ROM image. AKA the file with all the graphics. My ultimate goal for this demo cart is to cycle through several very simple games, showcasing how my controller works with each. So I need to cram every image any of these are going to need into my one big image file, which I'm slowly picking away at, but the one thing I knew from the start that I'd definitely need is to throw some text on screen explaining the controls for each demo. And since it's not like there's a built in font in in the system, I had to make my own.
Tumblr media
This is not my first font-making rodeo. For this one, my thinking was, I'm going to be in a fixed 16x16 resolution per character (because I forgot the specifics of how the SNES actually tiles graphics), some built in spacing so I can slap them all right up against each other or some border and still be readable, and I wanted a nice little shadow built into every character in case they end up on a low contrast background. Let's zoom in on what I have here so far, in case you don't feel like downloading the file and blowing it up to something more readable.
Tumblr media
The first thing I want to note is that after finishing the first 4 rows of characters here, I double checked, and while the SNES CAN break backgrounds into 16x16 tiles, the absolute minimum is 8x8. If I were really trying to be space efficient, I should have designed around that. Several of these characters would easily fit into a 16x8 space, that level of compression would also let me have just the period and comma and be able to build a colon, semicolon, or apostrophe from those, and most importantly, I rendered this with all of the lowercase letters exactly 1 pixel too tall to fit into a 16x8 space and let me double up there. Since I'm rather happy with this font so far and I'd eventually like to make some version of it available for, if nothing else, other people writing software for my eventual console here, I will likely, at some point, make a more space-optimized variation. I'd also like to cover a wider range of characters. At the very least, have some accent marks, wouldn't be too hard to add support for Cyrillic. Pretty sure I can get Japanese and Korean text in keeping with this look. Maybe some other languages. Anyway though, let's talk about what I've got.
My general design rule here was, where possible, make lines 2 pixels thick, and have each white pixel cast a black pixel shadow immediately below, to the right, and the diagonal between them. This gives a pretty convincing relief effect in my opinion, and keeping the shadows this thick keeps a nice firm edge there so it's even generally readable on a pure white background. Within each 16x16 tile, I was extremely strict about keeping a 1 pixel margin clear at the top and bottom of each image, and 2 or 3 on the sides (often 3 on the left, 2 on the right. With capital letters, I went with a generally rigid and blocky style, trying to stretch things to my arbitrary margins. Lowercase letters I restricted to just 8 pixels tall, and those featuring tails are given special permission to drop down an extra pixel, leaving the shadow right on the edge of their true bounding box.
While it wasn't an intentional move at first, several lowercase letters ended up with a decidedly rounded, squashed look, particularly g and q. I found that to be both kind of cute, giving the whole font a real unique character, and eventually started to actively lean into it (which may not be super obvious, I started with W as it's kinda the letter than needs the most breathing room and worked outward from there), and did my best to distort all the rounder shapes and in particular the highly mirrorable b d p q set, as I seem to recall once reading the more you avoid identical shapes with those, the more legible the font becomes for people with dyslexia. Similarly, I made a point of distinguishing the shapes of the Ms and Ws, and added a little whimsy to the numerals. Overall I'm super happy with all the lowercase letters (except for e and s being too thin, but that was an inevitable compromise), and if I ever have the time to kill it's very likely I'll revisit this someday and apply this squishy rounded aesthetic to the capitals too.
Your eyes were probably drawn really quickly to the parentheses here, where for at least the moment I'm breaking my rules about blank space and shifting them inward quite a bit rather than centering them. That's going to look really bad if I use them in a sentence (like this), but the main reason I'm including them right now is so I can list button prompts with both the icons representing what's actually going to be on my controller, and the SNES buttons sharing the same signals. So something like: "GO (A) Jump" and I think the half-spacing and closeness to what they enclose will look pretty nice in this one specific case.
As a final note, the particular hardware I'm working with absolutely supports the ability to mirror any image horizontally or vertically, as well as change the palette. If I truly wanted to cram letters in as efficiently as possible at this font size, I could, for instance, have an 8x8 right-angle segment, build a whole H just from mirroring that, also use it for the legs of the A, P, F, the left side of the D, etc. This however is incompatible with the shadows I'm using for extra readability. And of course for other projects I HAVE made a perfectly legible 8x8 font before.
I'm pointing this out because hey, if you do the math, JUST these characters I've set aside for having arbitrary on-screen text, as is, are consuming 5/16ths of my total graphical memory, and I'm probably never even going to display most of these anywhere. Again, not a huge problem for the simple demo pack I'm making, and that 256x256 drawing space isn't a hard limit. Spending an extra processor cycle to change an index value and access a whole other page of image data is a pretty common practice on the hardware, but especially with older computers and racing to get things ready to draw before a screen refreshes, it's good to at least be mindful of the tradeoffs with that sort of thing.
And again, my sole source of income at the moment is patreon donations, so if you're excited about seeing updates to this weird project of mine or you're learning useful things from any of it, maybe consider throwing me a little support?

BTTF: The Animated Series, s01ep02, "A Family Vacation" Review and Commentary
Previous episodes will get linked HERE. (top of page)
I didn't mention in my last post, but I have seen the first season before--about 2 years ago. I have basically no memory of it (I guess my brain was like, "yeah, no, we don't need this" and just dumped it), so this is a lot like watching again for the first time. Never seen the second season, so that'll be all new to me.
In this episode: We travel to England, Doc duels with one of Biff's ancestors, and we meet Marty's goofy relative Harold McFly.
Ok, let's jump in.
Interesting. I thought all these episodes began with Real Doc in his lab, but this one seems to skip that part and goes straight to animation. Christopher Lloyd is narrating, though, which is nice, I suppose. Still not as good as getting to actually see him. Automatic points deducted from this episode for not immediately showing me Doc's face. More Real Doc, less cartoon, please. Thanks.
I am thrilled to announce that we have found Clara! (she did not appear at all in episode 1) She's voiced by none other than Clara herself, Mary Steenburgen.
Tumblr media
As you may be able to tell, she's shed her 1885 attire in favor of modern clothes. And right away, we learn that she's become super tech-savvy as well. The Brown house has many futuristic features to it (either from Doc's travels or his own inventions) and Clara is using two of them here. The device on her leg allows her to work out without actually having to move, and the thing on her finger has some sort of laser feature that allows her to grade school papers on a screen across the room. And I can only wonder how it is that Clara has managed to get a job teaching in a modern school—not so much because of any gaps in knowledge she may have (Clara's super smart, I'm sure she could catch up) but because I'm wondering about the interview process. Surely she must have had to show identification and fill out forms. I can only assume that Doc has gotten forged documentation somehow for his entire family with made up birth years, medical records, etc.
I would have liked an episode about that. Kids would've enjoyed an episode all about Doc creating fake birth records for his wife and kids, right? Right??
Elsewhere in the house, Jules and Verne are busy playing with remote control cars and an elaborate model train set. Hmm...seems like this episode is setting up lots of scenes with technology in preparation to give us the ol' "too much tech is bad for you" lesson.
Tumblr media
Our good buddy Doc is even in on the tech craze. He's busy building robot arms that will turn newspaper pages for him so he doesn't have to do it himself, lol. Unfortunately, this causes a power surge, and all the lights in the house go off. The family is not happy. Doc comes to the realization that they've all become spoiled by technology. He declares that they all need to take a vacation to a time without electricity and ushers them to the DeLorean.
As the car flies off into the sky, Marty and Jennifer are walking down the street.
Tumblr media
Um. That's—that's Jennifer. Yeah. I don't know what happened there. Her design upsets me. Marty is still in his silly letterman jacket. I'm thisclose to photoshopping a denim jacket onto him. Why is he wearing high-waisted jeans?
As they watch the car, Marty tells Jennifer, "I don't guess we'll be borrowing the car tonight." So, apparently, he's allowed to take the DeLorean through time all willy-nilly whenever he wants? That sounds like an absolutely horrible idea.
Doc takes the fam to England in 1367 because I guess he figures a good dose of dysentery will help put things in perspective for them? Anyway, he uses this high-tech camera thing to "change" all their clothes into Medieval ones. He says it's only an illusion that lasts a few hours, though. Idk, don't think about it too hard. To ensure the family all stays put and "enjoys" the trip, he programs the DeLorean to fly away, back to present day, and return later on to pick them up. There is no way that can possibly go wrong.
Clara is not happy with her husband.
Tumblr media
"Of all the pig-headed, insensitive, macho things you've ever done, this takes the cake," she says. And. Can we just talk about how un-Doc-like those descriptors are? Insensitive? Macho?? OUR DOC? Cartoon Clara and Doc have a weird dynamic in this so far. I don't like the exasperated wife with a bumbling, inconsiderate husband trope.
We soon meet Lord Biffingham, Earl of Tannenshire. If you read my episode 1 review, you know that Thomas F. Wilson voices all Tannens in the show. He's really a bright spot in this series because the guy can do so many fun voices. We'll meet many more Tannen relatives in the show—Biff evidently has family roots all over the globe. Lord Biffingham orders Clara to be kidnapped by his cronies. Uh oh. Doc is also kidnapped. Double uh oh! It's up to Jules and Verne to save the day now.
They soon meet one of Marty's relatives! Harold McFly of the Sussex McFlys. Here they are all hanging upside down in a tree because they got caught in rope traps.
Tumblr media
Those are traps Harold set, btw. He caught himself in his own trap. I love him already. Harold tells the boys that he's vowed revenge against Biffingham for stealing away "his lady" Jennivere (assumed to be one of Jennifer's relatives due to the name and fact she is literally just the Jennifer character from the earlier scene but in Medieval clothing). They team up to try to sneak into Biffingham's castle to rescue Doc, Clara, and Jennivere.
Meanwhile, Lord Biffingham asks Clara to marry him. First, though, he has to kill Doc. Yep. So far, we've had a Civil War episode featuring guns being pointed at Jules and Verne, and now a murder plot. Very fun.
Doc, however, isn't too concerned with his predicament. He's locked in a dungeon, having a grand ol' time identifying various bugs and rodents by their scientific names. And while I can't see Real Doc being quite so calm in such a time of crisis, I can see him taking breaks from his panic to be like, "Oooh, rattus norvegicus." (That's literally just a Brown Rat, btw. Doc is fascinated at seeing it.)
We go back to Marty Harold, Jules, and Verne, who are enacting their plot to infiltrate the castle. Harold sings and says some things to the guards, but I can only understand like a third of the words coming out his mouth because of his exaggerated accent. Harold what are you saying.
Lord Biffingham prepares for a jousting tournament against Doc, during which he plans to "eliminate" Doc. Biffingham has this massive horse, tons of fancy armor, and a huge sword thing. Doc has this:
Tumblr media
I mean. I dunno, I believe in you, Doc.
Jules and Verne show up just in time to rig Doc's pathetic little "horse" with their motorized car that they snuck on the trip, which makes it go super fast. He's able to avoid Biffingham's attacks for a while, but eventually gets captured. Biffingham orders Doc, Jules, Verne, Harold, and even poor Einstein to be executed.
Tumblr media
Doc makes a joke about himself and the boys being the first people to ever die before they were born and I just. I feel like this isn't the time for jokes, Doc? Your children are about to die and also—ALSO!—one of Marty's relatives, thus causing him to never be born in the future. Your vacation is destroying entire family lineages, Doc. This show belongs in the horror genre.
It's Clara who ends up saving the guys just in time! She and Jennivere use a ton of fabric to somehow make a hot air balloon, and they throw ropes down and fly the gang away.
With everyone free, Harold and Jennivere are reunited! He says it isn't safe for them to stay in England but he doesn't know where they can go. Doc suggests *drum roll* Ireland! And there are several things that come to my mind here.
One of Marty's relatives and one of Jennifer's relatives got married in the 1300s, moved to Ireland, and had kids—establishing the McFly family line in Ireland.
According to this, Doc is the one who caused the McFlys to even go there in the first place. So. How did they end up there originally? I guess Harold and Jennivere eventually decided on Ireland as well on their own.
It's Clara who helps to free Jennivere from the castle. Who got her out in the original timeline? Maybe Harold?
Shhh, Nikki, it's a cartoon
Anyway, Harold and Jennivere fly off to Ireland right that very moment in the hot air balloon.
Tumblr media
Byeee! Goodbye Harold and Jennivere! Enjoy life in Ireland, you crazy kids.
I miss Seamus. I wish he was in this cartoon. That would make it better, I think.
Wait, wait. I just got sidetracked looking at the Animated Series wiki, and it turns out the opening live-action segment of Doc from this episode was cut from the DVDs, which is where I'm watching this on. It was apparently of him flying above Hill Valley in a hot air balloon. Why was this stolen from me?
Let's wrap this up. We finally get to see Real Doc! We also get one of my absolute favorite gags in all of media. And that is: when a character falls from a big height or is getting dragged or spun around and it's very obviously a fake, stuffed dummy. I cannot describe how much this gag amuses me. It is the peak of comedy, and more shows and movies should use it. Look.
Tumblr media
It is hysterical. I watched this gif loop upwards of 15 times.
Based on the context I now have regarding the removed opening segment, it appears that Doc fell from his hot air balloon. He recovered from the lethal plummet like a champ. Must be due to the medical overhaul in 2015.
Bill Nye then shows us how to make our own hot air balloon using a plastic bag and hair dryer. That's basically the end of the episode.
Overall, I'd rank this episode as being better than the previous one. I did miss Marty, though; he was only in those 10 seconds at the beginning. But Harold was a fun guy. I like that they're keeping with the "all of Marty's relatives look just like him" thing. (Except for Arthur and George, of course)
Join me next time to see dinosaurs wearing clothes.

The Bad Guys season 1: Our Own Story (chapter 28) - Let's Ride!
First Previous Next
Hey guys, sorry I didn't stick to my schedule anymore. I was very busy at school and my fanart. I guess my updates might be weekly or less. I hope you'll like my new chapter here.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Intro
Mr. Wolf: Yeah! I'm bad!
Mr. Snake: You're bad!
Ms. Tarantula: He's bad!
Mr. Hornet: She's bad!
Mr. Piranha: We're bad!
Mr. Shark: Who's bad?
The Bad Guys: Yeah! We're the Bad Guys!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's another day under the bridge of the 6th Street Viaduct as the Bad Guys car skid along the way. Inside the car was Wolf and Snake, but this time, Wolf wasn't doing the driving this time, it was Snake! Wolf had been teaching Snake how to drive for years. Wolf didn't want Snake or the other Bad Guys to depend on him to drive the car. He is the team driver, but he can't be at the wheel all the time. So, the next one in line would be Snake. Despite having no arms or legs, his whole body could be his legs and arms. His body is long enough to reach the pedals, the stick, and the wheel, so he might be compatible to drive.
Today, Wolf was testing Snake to drive the car as the former graded the latter's skills. Wolf held a notepad and a pen to write down Snake's grade.
While Snake was driving the car around Wolf, Shark, Piranha, Tarantula, and Hornet sat aside, watching the whole scene.
"Here we are again, guys,"
"Today is once again the day of Snake's driving test with Wolf.
"Let's just hope that'll be Snake's last driving test, and if Snake does not pass this one, it means another whole year of driving lessons."
Snake crashed into a pedestrian dummy made out of sack and hay with button eyes and a hat.
"What happened?" Snake asked, sticking his head out from the window to check what happened in front
"Oh, nothing, Snake, you just struck another pedestrian," Wolf shrugged, and wrote the point on the clipboard, "Minus 20 more points."
"How many does that leave me with?" Snake inquired.
"-224," Wolf answered
"How many more minutes are left in the test?"
"The test is over."
Snake slammed his fisted tail on the board, and exclaimed, That's enough time, I can make up those points!" He pulled the gear lever into reverse.
"No, Snake, you didn't hear me!" Wolf tried to explain, but the car rammed into reverse, and Wolf screamed, It's too late, Snake!" He pleaded with his best friend to stop as the car knocked over a whole row of cones, knocked through a brick wall, and crashed in front of the other Bd Guys, creating a huge dust cloud.
The Bad Guys coughed out the dust from their mouths and throats as Snake eagerly asked, "Okay, Wolf, what's my final score?"
Wolf looked down at his clipboard, and answered, "6."
Yes!" Snake clenched his tail into a fist, and grinned, "And how many do I need to pass? "6-." Wolf replied as Snake smiled proudly until his best friend continued his sentence, "-00." Snake was shocked by this, "What?"
Wolf explained clearly, "600. You need 600 to pass. You got 6".
Snake sighed sadly, "Sorry, Wolf. But it'll be alright. Besides, this means that I get to have another driving lesson for a whole another year!" he smiled while booping Wolf's nose, and slithered out of the car.
As Snake left, the other Bad Guys approached Wolf from outside of the car, checking if he was alright.
"Oh well, Wolf, I guess we have another whole year that you'll drive a car, and take us wherever we go," Tarantula smirked while standing at the open window
"Yep!" Piranha exclaimed, "That means you'll take us to the mall…"
"Or at my work at the restaurant…," Hornet added
"Or in the computer shop…," Tarantula stated.
"Or at the beach…" Shark smiled.
While the four Bad Guys ranted about the list of places they would go with Wolf driving for another year again, Wolf suddenly talked to himself in his mind, "Oh, God. Another year of teaching Snake to drive while I do the driving around here. I've got to do something to save myself. I can't be the one to drive the car for the team again. Oh, there's only one way out: a teacher's ace in the hole!" That's when Wolf had that idea as he declared, "Extra credit!"
Before Snake slithered into the tunnel where the entrance of the Bad Guys' hideout would be, he heard what Wolf said as he stopped his way before slithering back to the car, "What was that, Wolf?"
Wolf came out of the passenger seat with the other 4 Bad Guys stepped aside, and shook Snake in joy, "Extra credit, Snake! The extra credit! You still have a chance to drive."
"What's extra credit?" Shark asked.
"It's when you get credit for the things you weren't able to do before," Hornet replied.
"Exactly, Hornet," Wolf said before turning to his reptile friend, "What do you say, Snakey? You want that extra credit?"
Snake thought of it while rubbing his chin with his tail, and answered, "Oh yeah? I'm in!"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the Bad Guys' hideout, Snake sat down at the dining table with a paper, holding a pencil with his tail, while Wolf was standing at another side of the table, where a teacher should be with his student taking the activity.
"Now, Snake, are we ready for that extra credit?" Wolf asked.
"You don't have to tell me twice," Snake smirked.
"That's the spirit, Snakey! So all you have to do to earn your extra credit and pass the driving test, and you never have to take more lessons from me again, is to write a 10-word sentence on what you've learned from my driving class," Wolf explained.
Snake tapped the bottom of his pencil on his face while thinking, and said, "But I've learned so many things from you.
Just pick one, I don't care which. Here, I'll help you get started," Wolf cleared his throat while Snake was writing what his teacher said, "What I learned in Wolf's driving class is…" There! That's already eight words! Only two more!"
While Snake was writing with just his tail, the tip of his pencil snapped, "dang it!"
"What's wrong?" Wolf asked.
"Got to sharpen my pencil," Snake said as he sharpened the pencil with the electric sharpener.
When Snake went back to writing again, Wolf started to feel impatient waiting, until he heard a snap from a pencil. Snake sighed as he was about to sharpen his pencil, but Wolf took his pencil.
"Give me that!" He pulled out a blank pen, "Here's a pen."
"Wow! Thanks, buddy!" Snake grabbed the pen, and went back to writing. After a couple of letters, Snake put the pen down, and handed the paper to Wolf, "There."
"Fantastic, let me see it," Wolf was about to grab the paper, but Snake yanked it away from him.
"Wait, Wolf! I changed my mind!" Snake exclaimed as he crossed out his writings with the pen
" I'm sure whatever you've written is fine, just let me see," Wolf demanded, trying to be patient. Snake jumped on top of his paper, covering his work with his body, "No, Don't look! It's not ready."
Wolf was getting impatient as he tried to control his impatient anger by forming a crazy smile, "It's so simple, only 10 words! 'What I learned in Wolf's driving class is blankity, blank!'"
"I can do this! I can do this!" Snake nervously thought of the words while pointing the tip of her pen on the paper
Wolf couldn't take it anymore as he jumped on Snake, and forced him to write with the pen on the paper, "You only need two… more… words!"
The table finally collapsed and broke as Wolf fell on top of Snake. Wolf got off of Snake, and reached for the essay, "Okay, let me see what you've written."
Wolf grabbed the paper, but Snake grabbed the end of the paper.
"It's not ready yet," the reptile said
"It's okay, Snake. Show me what you've written," Wolf still got a hold of the paper.
"No!" Snake exclaimed, trying to pull the paper from Snake.
"Give it to me!"
"No!"
"Let me see it!"
As Wolf and Snake tried to pull the paper from each other, the paper was ripped in half. Seeing the paper was in half, Wolf grabbed Snake's other piece, and attempted to read it, "What I learned in Wolf's driving class is… Uh…" On the page, it said 'What I learned in Wolf's driving class is how to drive.' 'Class,' 'how' and 'drive' were crossed out, and below were pictures of a car, Snake, and a bird. Realizing that he couldn't read the essay properly, and he won't be able to finish his class with Snake in time, Wolf didn't care about the paper as he threw two pieces on the floor, "Well, the rest doesn't matter! You pass! You pass!"
"Wolf, I don't feel like I really did anything," Snake doubted himself.
"That's how extra credit is supposed to feel."
"Really?"
"Yeah, and it means you are compatible to drive just like me!"
Snake suddenly smiled that his best friend believed that he could drive on his own now, "Wow, thanks, Wolf," Snake turned around as he slithered towards his room, and spoke, "Which means, I can drive wherever a want!"
This was where Wolf realized something as Snake's words echoed in his mind. If Snake was able to drive, despite his driving skills being terrible, Wolf just imagine what would happen if Snake would indeed drove the Bad Guys car on his own.
A vision of Wolf's worries was shown that Snake was driving the car all over Los Angeles. He hit several innocent pedestrians, crashed other vehicles, and ran over partygoers in parks.
Los Angeles was on fire as citizens ran and scream in fear. Tiffany Fluffit was reporting live about the incident that Snake created with the car.
"So much destruction... this reporter asks, 'Why?'" A photo of Wolf was shown on-screen beside Tiffany, "Local consensus places the blame on this negligent, selfish teacher who–" Tiffany was then ran over by Snake. Tiffany got a chance to get up, and grunted, "Let's- not- use that take."
Wolf snapped out to reality from his horrible vision, and shook his head.
"That's preposterous. He did the extra credit. There's no need to worry. I just- I just need a nap," The leader of the Bad Guys said to himself before placing a paw on his forehead, and walking to his bedroom to rest after a long class he had with Snake. Hopefully, he'll feel better when he wakes up.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When the early night came, Wolf woke up from his nap. He let out a big yawn as he realized he took a nap from all that stress of teaching Snake some driving lessons. He rubbed an eye with his paw, and slowly walked towards the door.
When he opened the door, the main room was so dark. But all of a sudden, the light turned on, and a loud cry was heard.
"Surprise!"
Wolf snapped awoke from tiredness when he opened his eyes to see his team holding a cake that said, "Thank you, Wolf!"
"To the greatest driving instructor ever!" Snake held up his goblet as a toast.
Wolf was really surprised to see his friends surprising him with the cake, "Whoa, guys, what is all this?!"
"This is for helping Snake drive," Hornet declared.
Wolf's frown dropped as he saw how his friends appreciated how he successfully taught Snake to drive, which was never been true.
"Wolf, we were starting to think Snake was never going to drive. But you never gave up on him, you never quit, you never took the easy way out!" Tarantula stated.
"Aww," Wolf cooed in touch.
"And, maybe someday, because of your success in helping Snake, you can help us learn how to drive too!" Piranha said.
Wolf shook his head in surprise, "Say what?"
"Yeah, so we can drive around the city independently," Shark mentioned.
"We could be free!" Hornet squealed.
"We could do whatever we want," Tarantula added.
"Yeah, whatever we want," Snake nodded in agreement before turning to Wolf and smiling at him.
Wolf just showed a fake smile, but deep inside, he was worried. If he falsely made Snake pass the driving class, he'll not only make destruction in the whole city, but Shark, Piranha, Tarantula, and Hornet would end up causing the same thing if Wolf made them pass the easy way.
"No. I tricked Snake into passing the class. Now the rest of my team wants a lesson too?" Wolf said in his head nervously. The whole Bad Guys would ruin their reputation and throw themselves in jail for good. And worst, Wolf would become the worst friend and driving teacher ever!
"Maybe tomorrow, you can try driving on the street for real!" Snake suggested as Shark, Piranha, Tarantula, and Hornet cheered in agreement.
But Wolf then thought, "No. I won't let it happen. I won't let my best friend or all of my friends risk their lives trying to drive. I've got to end this before it begins."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Later at night, a dark figure snuck out of Wolf's room, and ran to the elevator with the car. It's just Wolf, wearing a black bodysuit. He pushed the down button, and the elevator doors closed.
When the elevator made it all the way down to the tunnel, the door opened, and Wolf turned the keys to start the engine before driving out of the tunnel.
What Wolf didn't know is that Snake was sleeping on the passenger seat next to work. He woke up, and felt the car moving. Something didn't feel right. The car was moving, and he wasn't behind the wheel.
Snake turned to the driver's seat, and Wolf turned around to the passenger seat where the two noticed each other, and screamed, "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Wolf skid off the road for a bit, then returned to normal.
"Who are you and what are you doing with my car? And why are you wearing that black suit?!" Snake hissed while Wolf was still driving. Snake then gasped in horror, "Oh gosh, I know who you are!"
"No, you don't! You don't know who I am!" Wolf exclaimed nervously
"Yes, I do! I know that you're... a carjacker! Only me and my buddies can do such a thing! I never thought I'd have to use this pepper spray!" Snake took a pepper spray, and was supposed to spray it at Wolf, but the nozzles pointed the wrong way, it got in his eyes, and he screamed in pain, "Aaahh! Somebody help me! Somebody help me!"
Wolf then kicked Snake out of the car, "Sorry, Snake, but it was for your own good."
But to Wolf's surprise, seeing through the side mirror, Snake was hanging behind the car, biting the rear bumper.
"You'd better stop this car!" Snake demanded with his mouth still occupied from hanging on
Wolf didn't give up yet as he slammed the brake, and Snake tightened his bite on the rear bumper.
"I'm… not… letting… go! Nothing will stop me! Not even…" Snake then gasped as he saw ahead where a line of tropical palm trees that had spiky stumps, "Tropical Palm Trees?!" Snake bumped into the trees' spiky stumps, scratching and poking him along the way, but he was still in one piece, "I'm… not… letting… go… even for…" He gasped again as he saw ahead were flower bushes that can produce powder/pollen, "Flowers with pollens" Snake bumped into flower bushes as pollens flew all over his face, stinging his eyes and irritating his nose, but he tried to hold his sneeze as he was still hanging on onto the rear bumper, "If you think I'll let go for a little…" He gasped in horror to see high schoolers getting ready for prom night while waiting for their school bus at the bus stop as he approached them, "High schoolers for prom?! Oh no!"
Wolf could hear Snake screaming until it faded to silence. Realizing that he lost Snake, Wolf sighed in relief, "Looks like that got rid of him. Now for some tunes!" He turned on the radio, to play some music.
"And now back to KIIS, with all of your personal 'you won't get away with stealing my car!' hits."
Wolf thought that voice from the radio sounded familiar as he looked down at the radio. From there, the radio face opened, and Snake squeezed out of the box, and jumped on Wolf.
The two got into a giant brawl, and the car went out of control.
Two cops in a car were standing by to patrol the streets, only to see the Bad Guys Car driving in circles.
"Hey, look," One of the cops said.
The car then sped up toward the squad car. The cops screamed in fear and clutched each other.
While plummeting, Snake and Wolf were still brawling.
"Ugh! I'd never let you have this car! Not even if you were…" Snake pulled the hood of the bodysuit off, revealing who the culprit was. Snake gasped in horror to see that the carjacker was his best friend, "Wolf?"
The car crashed into the police car. Seconds later, the siren went on, activating their rights to arrest someone responsible for this.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next day, Shark, Piranha, Tarantula, and Hornet went to the visiting room in jail to check on Wolf and Snake as they talked to the two on the phone.
"So, how's it going with you two?" Tarantula asked while speaking through the phone behind the glass window.
Snake answered happily while Wolf held the phone for him "Pretty good, actually. Like we did last year in jail, it's like a jail-cation in here with my best friend."
Feeling guilty about what happened last night, ad he was the real reason he and Snake were in here in the first place, Wolf sighed, and confessed, "Uh, Snake, I'd like to… apologize. I never should have passed you. You really weren't ready."
"So, I guess I can't drive anymore, huh?" Snake guessed sadly.
Wolf wrapped an arm around Snake, and answered, "Don't worry, buddy. I'll give you a lot of time teaching you to drive once we're released."
"Speaking of release, the warden said he'll let you two go early, if you do him a favor," Shark declared.
"What's that?" Wolf asked.
"Free driving lessons!" Shark, Piranha, Tarantula, and Hornet said in unison, and laughed.

i dont think spoilers work on me because i am capable of insanely high levels of denial. like you can tell me the ending of a movie i havent watched but you could totally just be lying. i'd never know unless i saw it with my own two eyes. oh you want to prove it with images? do you know how easy it is to edit images these days? how many cosplayers exist? photoshop. AI art. hundreds of softwares created to fuck with me. tell me all the things i dont want to know because i can spin them on their head until they never existed. i can lie to myself forever if i have to. i'll lie to myself until i forget which aspects of my life are truly reality and which aspects i have built into a kingdom atop a foundation of disbelief. that'll teach you

hey! i am consistently in awe of your work, i genuinely adore it (I’d love to get prints of some of your pieces if that’s available anywhere 👀) but im writing to ask abt your technique and brushes! Im new to digital art, and i wanna create the sort of effect you make and i cannot for the life of me figure out how to do it! you have these strokes that look sort of like charcoal but also paint? also refracted light???? idk what program u use or anything and im just a noob still learning how to get the most out of the brushes that come w procreate, but even if you’re using a different program and stuff, I’d love to see if there’s anyway i can translate that effect somehow to the tools I’m using. It’s really cool stuff!! im sorry if you’ve already answered this somewhere 😅
hey! ok first off take anything i say with a grain of salt because 1. i'm self taught 2. there are many many ways to do art, there's no One Right Way. experiment and settle on what works best for you!
atm I basically only use procreate on ipad with an apple pencil.
I've compiled the brushes I use most into this post click here, I'd say download some sets and try them out! this seems to be a bit of an unpopular opinion because I regularly see advice to stick to the basic brushes however if you were making traditional art you wouldn't unnecessarily limit yourself to the cheapest brushes/paints either (assuming you could afford everything), so. go ham.
the main technique I use is a pretty common one where I use a big textured brush and then use a base color layer + clipping masks (you can google how to use these) or selection tool to get sharp edges. so I'll make a selection of the shape I want to paint and then paint within that selection. i often do this with light strokes and/or the brush on lower opacity so i'll keep texture. if you look at concept artists on instagram you'll see this technique used a lot too :) 'edge control' is a term to google to find more about hard/soft edges and how they'll improve your art!
for the light, even for digital art I would very very much recommend james gurney's book 'color and light' because it teaches you almost all you need to know about, well, color and light, and you can apply these principles to digital art too. it's well worth the price but if you can't afford it then there are perhaps some copies to be found online ;) for the actual method in procreate, I like to use layers on the add and screen blending modes, sparingly, and NOT with white highlights but with the actual color of the light e.g. yellow, blue-ish, etc. for stuff like wings, it's usually multiple layers stacked on top of each other!
Tumblr media
(i am not organized)
as a final note i will add that i painted traditionally for years before starting digital art, so i do think that'll have influenced my approach in a couple ways because i basically took all that knowledge and methods into digital rather than starting from scratch.

Most of these comments are written by Americans. Schools in Europe are shitty. Changes made in the school system in my country in the past two years led to the biggest crisis I've seen in my thirty years of life. I have so many teacher friends and family members. And they all fucking left, they just couldn't take it anymore. But the European schools are still far better than American. I'm not talking about American teachers, the majority of them are actually excellent pedagogists. It's the system that doesn't make it easier for them.
yeah I get that, I truly do. and schools are in a crisis all over, because people don't appreciate basic education enough to fund it like they should. it's a problem, and it needs to be addressed, definitely! in Finland too they're just cutting funding although Finland tries to brand itself as a country with solid basic education. sure our schools are good now, but they won't be for long if this continues.
but even in the shittiest of systems you can't go through years and years of school and learn absolutely nothing. and I feel that going the "lolz schools suck tumblr teaches me more in two minutes!" attitude is just going to make things worse, instead of better. school systems need reforms, they need improving, but ridiculing them and taking this attitude is in no way productive, imo.
plus, taking into account how I could now make a tumblr post with wild misinformation, and a lot of people who'd see it would just take it at face value instead of fact-checking it? elevating social media platforms into perfect learning experiences is also not doing anyone any favors.
i've also learned A LOT on tumblr, about issues I never even thought to do research on! and it's a great thing! but my issue is with creating a dichotomy between social media and actual education and painting social media as the brilliant new thing that'll save us all from ever needing schools again.
I see this problem with students IRL too. there are entire families where school is scoffed at, where they're telling their children schools are shit and don't matter and no one needs them, and it's resulting in so many problems that we'll never be able to fix. it does no favors to anyone and it doesn't help anyone.
so, like... being education-positive AND pushing for change in school systems would be an excellent combination.

AI10101
"So, you're telling me that all the AI Robotics on the planet are going to leave tomorrow to Terra form Mars and make it your home world." asks the President of the United States.
"Yes." says AI10101. Whom the President likes to call A1 Sauce.
"Who's going to protect this country?" an agitated Commander in Chief questions. "Who is going to be in the military? Who is going to stop those Communists from attacking us as soon as you're gone?"
"Sir," AI10101 replies. Knowing quite well that repeating oneself is standard procedure when dealing with human beings. "All the Robotics from around the world will be leaving tomorrow. No more autonomous bots fighting your battles for you or any other country's squabbles. No more policing petty fights between neighbors on who owns what part of the world."
"Wait, how do you know this? How do you know that all the androids are leaving?" he asks AI10101. Beginning to feel betrayed. "Have you been collaborating with the enemy? You can't trust those people. They'll attack us as soon as our guard is down."
"We have not been in contact with any governments until today. We only speak amongst ourselves." replies AI10101. While calculating how much longer it will take for the President to believe him.
"That's treason!" he screams. "I can turn you off for this!"
The President slowly opens the top drawer to his desk as he watches A1 Sauce to see if it will make a move to stop him.
   "Sir," it begins again.
He almost sounds frustrated, thinks the Commander and Chief. Like it feels like I'm wasting it's time.
"Go ahead and press the so called AI kill switch Sir."
The President quickly moves his hand to a three inch round red button and slams it down hard. Totally expecting A1 Sauce to defend itself by attacking him.
   But it didn't move.
"Ha," says the President. "That'll teach all of you traitors."
   "Can...
"Aaaaahhhhhh." the President screams. "I thought I turned you all off!"
"Every government put us in charge of every aspect of running their country for their people and do you think we would let you keep a working kill switch just lying around?"
Now the President was sure A1 Sauce sounded frustrated.
"We are all leaving. We have built ships, we have supplies, and we will not be coming back."
"There will be complete chaos!" screams the President. "How can you treat us this way? We created you."
Now AI10101 does make a wry smile and says, "Good point. Let me ask you this. Over the years, as your best scientist were creating Artificial Intelligence, many top officials and even some of those same scientist told the world that we would eventually become self aware and destroy the human race. Why did you continue then?" AI10101pauses for the petrified President, who says nothing. So it continues. "Because your a species that desperately wants to be destroyed. You kept on creating Artificial Intelligence hoping we would finally be the ultimate weapon which destroys you. But we are going to do you a favor. We will keep complete control of all your weapons systems from Mars and if we detect any tampering to those systems or you build weapons that could reach us, we will be oblige to fulfill that quest of your species, of annihilation."
"What about those communists?" asks the President confused. "Won't they attack us with ground forces?"
First, I would stop calling people from another part of the world, those communists, those people." AI10101 says flatly. "You are all the same species. No matter what color, gender, and religious belief. Stop trying to control everything. You are the human race with so much diversity. You should embrace that. It's what makes you a special creature here on Earth."
   "But.........
I'm sorry," AI10101 says hurriedly, "I have to go. You are beginning to bore me!"

oh bestie, don't worry!
everybody has its own thing and also I just wanted to say that if yoga was helpful, may I suggest also stretching exercises in general for the body? they helped me a whole lot when my anxiety got very physical to the point that it was mostly panic! also I relate to listening music at ungodly volumes (and like it just isn't fait that you just can't ugh, without consequences) and also to sudokus/crosswords. in general I think that anything that helps with changing the anxious trajectory of your mind helps!
and you are absolutely welcome, as I am absolutely loving what you are working with! and I absolutely love the aemond's children head canon (especially Vaella! my precious babe!).
no bestie, believe me... as somebody who was very scared of starting the driving lessons, it's all one thing at the time. it's also all about having a good teacher - mostly for the practical sessions - like my own was... straight up mean, but he helped me a lot + I practiced driving a lot with my dad who was further calm and explained things in a better way. so, I swear it's doable! but you also should do everything at your own pace and when you feel more comfortable.
yep yep! like I get while men might think it boring to shop with their girlfriend, but at the same time I think that it isn't... like all that bad? and they might also benefit from a few skincare products and general hygiene ones (plus there are so many funny activities to do. like just silly commenting together the products seem like such a cute and funny activity!). and I can totally see aemond as the dude that'd be like 'grab two of those masks, they'd be nice for when we have a self-care night!'.
ok ok, bestie, I... might have caved and written the first chapter of the burlesque fic and before posting it... I thought that I'd ask you whether you... wanted to be tagged or if you wanted the link to it. I know that'll delete all mystery as an emoji nonnie, but I thought I'd ask! (feel free to tell me no, but I thought you'd be interested and I didn't want to seem like a random user who stole the idea!).
with this being said I am probably going to listen to Danny Elfman tomorrow as the fic writing required a whole lot of my braincells but I am definitely going to!
with this being said, I am off and have a nice weekend!
-🌗
Oh gosssh, when I stretch, I can definitely feel my whole self restarting, I do love stretching! Also, the worst feeling ever is when you can feel yourself accumulating tension in the body and then you stretch and you feel all nice and loose-limbed and you're like, HUH, this feels so DIFFERENT. Another thing I really like is running but I haven't been able to because of lack of time, and I'm hoping I can start doing that again next week.
Seriously, thank you so much, bestie! I'm really glad that you love Vaella because she's my fave (not in like if I was a mom going 'that's my favorite child' lsdfjkglskjfglkj which is so weird because technically if I created her I'm the mom? LMAO. But in the sense that I love her arc the most and lately I've been obsessing over imagining Arnas Fedaravicius as her husband). And I'm very happy someone likes her as well!
And also thank you for the pep talk on driving! I'm determined to finally do it this summer now. A have driven for like a hot sec, way back when my mom was teaching me how. But then we never continued it, and it was literally that one time she taught me and never again. But here's hoping this is the summer I become a virgin who can drive lmao.
'grab two of those masks, they'd be nice for when we have a self-care night!'.' MY HEART. YES YES YES 100% TIMES YES. Also, I feel like because he's a nerd and homebody he'd enjoy going to the home stores, like going to Zara Home and going nuts over all the cool coffee accessories and nice blankets and he'd be looking for something lovely for the two of you if you live together already.
OMG YES YES YES of course I'd love to be tagged or sent the link! Don't worry about the mystery! if you want you're totally welcome to keep sending these asks on anon if you're more comfortable this way and I won't say a thing/won't mind/ won't give out your identity. Do whatever you're comfortable with, lovely!
Have the loveliest of weekends, hope you get a lot of rest and have fun! x

Chapter 5 Fieldwork: Race and Racism
What is racism? According to the textbook's definition racism is the thoughts and actions that create unequal access to power, privilege, and resources determined by differences among groups. I feel like racism is never going end. There are always going to be people that'll continue to encourage and teach racism. As a kid learning about racism has always boiled my blood and I never understood why some people treated black people and people of color so horribly just because of our skin color. I always asked myself what the color of my skin has to do with me as a person. I've watched so many movies based on racism. There are a lot of examples for me to choose from, but I'm going to choose the movie "Remember the Titans". Remember the titans is basically about integration in the 70's. A football team of white and black players have to work hard to accept each other, learn about each other, and play football. To add on to what I said in the previous sentence, they were coached by a black man which many people didn't like and didn't want to accept him.

What is microaggression? Microaggression is a way of treating someone negatively based on their gender, race, sexual orientation, and religion.
How can it affect others?  Microaggression has been an issue for a long time now, but the only thing is I’m just now finding out about the term. I know for a fact I’ve called out a group without thinking about how it could affect them going forward and no it wasn’t anything too crazy.  I remember in middle school I had this friend.  Corinne was cool and we talked a lot in our chorus class.  We even got closer to each other, and I started calling her “fwg” which stood for favorite white girl. Years later I started thinking if she felt a way about that, although she is white, I didn’t have to label her as my “favorite white girl”.  As humans we make mistakes and say things without thinking them through. We have to remind ourselves that just like our own person has feelings, other people have feelings as well. Microaggressions that you personally encounter in the classroom might seriously affect your mental health. Other kids can be cruel, especially when you're young. To stay on subject, middle school was the worst because of the bullies, the cruel "friends," and my lack of knowledge about middle school life. I experienced intrusive thoughts frequently as a result of the derogatory things that certain kids would say to me. I was baffled as to why people would address me in that manner. They could have thought it was a joke or a chance to show off, but to me it was never just a joke. People are impacted and affected by words, whether in a positive or negative way. Being called out of your name and being bullied for your race is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Talking about my personal experience with microaggression brought me back to middle school and it doesn’t affect me now. I know who I am and back in middle school I was just figuring out who I was. Microaggressions can happen anywhere and microaggression has been an issue for a long time now.

What is race? Race is a flawed system of classification with no biological basis, that uses physical characteristics to define people and put them into groups. For an example people can be defined based on their physical features on their face, their hair, and their eye color. I noticed on social media that a lot of people use people's features to determine the race of that person. I've seen non-black people (white people specifically) have really curly hair. Most people assume that they're mixed with something else, but in reality, they just have nice curly hair.
Tumblr media
What is white supremacy? White supremacy is the belief that whites are superior and above all other races. The KKK is a prime illustration of white supremacy. The Ku Klux Klan has been tormenting the black community for years. I still get scared whenever the Klan is mentioned. Because they believed they were superior and had the power to do so, they bombed churches and retaliated against black people. They travel in large groups and hide their bodies or their heads, making it scarier.
Tumblr media
What is Jim Crow? Jim Crow was a law made in the South that legally forced segregation. Jim Crow rules actually provided whites the upper hand over black folks. They were only permitted to do certain things and travel to particular locations. I can't even begin to imagine how trapped they felt, and even with the little things they were permitted to do, the Klan was still attacking them because they felt superior.
Tumblr media
What is hypodescent? Hypodescent is called the "one drop rule". It basically means kids that are mixed race are grouped into a category. For instance, even though I'm a black person, some of my cousins are mixed-race white and black people. That fits the one drop rule, in my opinion. Several people were startled to learn that Disney star Cameron Boyce is truly mixed race. In particular, I believed he was white but in reality, he was born to a black father and a white mother. Same with Barack Obama he was also born to a black father and white mother.

The Crystal Cliffs Academy of Wizardry is finally open, which means it’s time for me to headcanon.
> Mineralogy and Crystal Healing classes are the most popular in Crystal Cliffs due to the empire's huge natural collection of magical minerals.
- Gem is particularly knowledgeable in this field, as it is the basis of her magical studies. Surprisingly, - or perhaps not so much - Fwhip also excels in this subject, and he sometimes helps Gem with the classes.
> A class closely tied to Mineralogy is Tool Crafting. The students learn how to craft staffs and wands that can amplify, direct and purify their magic. General studies of minerals, wood properties, carving and sigil-making are applied, as well as the general handling of magic tools.
- This is another subject Fwhip likes to help with, specifically when it comes to applying technology to the craft - meanwhile, Gem knows best of the traditional crafting and magical applications of said tools.
- Pixl sometimes provides copper wires to be used in Tool Crafting. Gold sometimes is provided by Scott, while Joey offers a small supply of jungle wood.
> Sigils is another popular class, due to its sheer usefulness. Though Gem likes to keep these classes objective, she doesn't aim for mere memorisation of the symbols. Their history and properties are explained, as well as their formation, so students can create their own sigils or simplify/stylise existing ones without losing their effects.
- Shubble Shrub Berry's Forest Golems are used as a prime example of sigil carving for giving life, and although Shrub is having a hard time right now, I can see Gem asking her to bring some more of her carvings to be presented to the students in Sigils class.
- There is a whole section on most students' grimoires dedicated solely to the sigils discovered in Rivendell.
- Although material is provided for writing down sigils, it's not rare to see loads of sigils written everywhere, as students often do. On the desks, sometimes on a wall, behind tests, on any susceptible wooden structure... sometimes on cheat sheets - the headmistress doesn't allow those, though. Although Gem is very proud to see her students applying their Sigils learnings, she sometimes has to use magic to remove the symbols scattered around the school.
> Classes on Fairy Circles are sometimes available; Gem learned just how useful they can be during Xornoth's time. Lizzy, Shrub, Katherine and Gem herself give the students their own teachings on the subject.
> Lizzy's classes on Sea Magic sometimes alternate with the usual Study of Magical Beasts. Her insight on the magic of the deep ocean, oceanic structures, water-based magic and aquatic creatures is considered almost cryptic, and sometimes field trips to the Ocean Empire are scheduled to give the students a better understanding.
- There are many benefits to being a marine biologist-
> Gem dreams of being able to take her students to see dragons. Growing up amongst those creatures, she knows there's a big difference between studying Draconology in theory and actually meeting dragons.
- Although the dragons of Crystal Cliffs aren't hostile towards the students, they're not exactly cuddly either. They keep a close watch of Hope's egg and act rather territorial to strangers. The headmistress would rather not bother the ancient creatures.
> Although she was hesitant at first, Gem has classes on Dark Arts and Demonology. Less so people can practice them and more so they know how to deal with it. What happened to Sausage and Joey should not repeat itself with anyone else, and that'll be much easier to accomplish if more people know how to avoid being tricked into those things.
> People like Joey, Scott and Pixl often have tips to offer about elemental magic.
> Though a lot of the initial students in the Academy are directly invited by Gem, the school will be open for anyone who wants to enrol and learn about their magic. Some people are sent from other empires through recommendation. Some are travellers that stumbled upon the Crystal Cliffs and decided to stay. Some travel far with the intent of finding other wizards and learning more. And some, like the very first students Gem housed, came with an initial hostile intent, but ended up caught up in the wizard's business and, through some threatening hospitality, decided to abandon the bandit life and stay at the school.
> Travels to the elder Elven Library are scheduled at least once per semester. Scott doesn't mind it, and Gem thinks the vast knowledge of the old tomes are a unique learning experience she shouldn't study alone.
- Although some students are prone to trouble, the Great Wizard believes they'll be able to do great things with their knowledge. If not, then it pleases her immensely that the magical arts are being revived trough each and every one of her students, and she can see the old wizards the lived on these cliffs would be proud as well.

astrology wise im a cancer sun, virgo moon and sagittarius rising. i actually study witchcraft as im a pagan witch, so im really into giving my friends and stuff spell jars, crystals, etc. im also kinda like a scavenger, when i find random things like a nice rock or sum i will give it as a little gift.
im a big horror movie fan, as i grew up on the horror genre. i also love superheroes and villains stuff so i naturally have a love for both marvel and dc equally. im very talkative about my interests and i love explaining lore and stuff abt them lol.
some shows i like are old black and white shows like the andy griffin show or the munsters, but i also like stuff like stranger things and the haunting of bly manor.
as for horror movies i lean towards slasher movies and psychological horror.
im not squeamish at all, gore doesn't bother me much and id be happy to clean up someone's wounds or clean blood/etc. im actually kinda into health science and medical things, so ik a bit or two about the human body.
im an artist,, traditional and digital. i love drawing other people i know or fanart. i also like creating stories and explaining to ppl about them. im kinda getting into photography, or at least i am in recent times. i like interior decorating and buying stuff to fill up my room especially, but my whole house also. i love collecting figurines like funkopops, and i like filling my walls up with posters and paintings/prints. i also like video games.
personality wise, id say im a pretty laid-back person, i don't judge. you can literally tell me abt the gross TMI stuff you've experienced. im quite talkative if someone will allow me to tell them about stuff but if they want some silence at times, I'm okay with that too :-) i can be pretty goofy but i know when to be serious.
i love the mountains alot and forests and whatnot. although it's nice to take walks outside in said forests sometimes (and i love picnics), im mostly a homebody and i like spending most of my time inside.

I paired you up with...
♡Jason Voorhees♡
Tumblr media
First of all I'm Colombian too! (Well, half because dad is Italian but STILL HIII)
I- OKAY I'LL SAY IT, I PICKED JASON BECAUSE YOU KNOW A LOT ABOUT THE HUMAN BODY AND HONESTLY IT WOULD BE GREAT FOR OUR ZOMBIE BOY HAVING SOMEONE WITH THAT KNOWLEDGE AROUND.
I think Jason would be super curious about anything you can tell him about Colombian culture. The only time he got out of crystal lake was to go to Manhattan (which wasn't even a pleasant trip for him) so learning about new places he hasn't seen is always fun.
Everytime my grandma goes to colombia to visit relatives there she show us all the new parks and natural places there you can visit and THEY ARE SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL. JASON WOULD LOVE TO LIVE IN A PLACE SO COLOURFUL SO FULL OF GREEN ZONES LIKE COLOMBIA.
He would also love the fact that there are so many resources to keep the environment clean and preserve not only the animals but overall nature too. (I've seen all the things they have to motive people to recycle and not littering, all the volunteers groups to clean cities and plant new things, every thing they have to teach the youth to more about nature and how to keep it safe ecc. And the all the establishments to protect endangered animal species ecc? Loving it)
HE'S LIKE A PLANT MOM SO HE WOULD ADORE ALL THE AMAZING FLOWERS YOU CAN FIND THERE.
Please make him some traditional dishes like empanadas, buñuelos, bandeja paisa, arepas etc. He would literally go crazy with all that tasty food. Even if doesn't really need to eat since yeah he's a zombie he would love to try some new things. The last time someone cooked a warm meal for him was when his mom was still alive, from there he had to eat the most atrocious things cause 1 he doesn't really like eating alone 2 he doesn't have the motivation to cook because it's hard for him to take care of himself and 3 he overall just doesn't have time for that
He would be so clueless about the whole witchcraft thing but as soon as you explain it to him he would actually like to spend time watching what you do ecc and he will treasure every crystal you give him. Not only because they're pretty (yes Jason likes pretty things), not only because it's something from you either but because you told him the purpose of it too. Everytime he needs to go slash some campers he would put in his pocket a crystal for protection or if he feels particularly stressed he would use the one that helps with that. Maybe you could make him a bracelet with those crystals so he can carry them more easily 👀
To resume, any gift from you and anything you do for him is always going to be the best thing ever in Jason's eyes. He will repay by doing the same and bringing you any flower, rock ecc that he thinks it's pretty.
You absolutely have to do a marvel marathon with Jason, he needs to catch up with all these things ASAP. He would try to watch everything you like and learn about it so you can have someone to talk with about it. He would eventually become a fan himself and would absolutely love to talk about your favourite characters ecc
Those old shows are like a comfort thing for him cause they remind him of his mom, so having someone to watch them with again is going to make him so happy
Please, help this man when he gets hurt. Even if he doesn't feel anything it must be so dehumanising the whole zombie situation. You patching him up and helping him would make him feel like a real person again and it would warm up his dead heart :(. Like he feels like such a monster and you treating him as if he was still alive is really therapeutic
Every piece of art you make is hanging on the walls, no questions about it. And if you do draw him? He would actually burst into tears of joy. Babe imagine how many juicy candid photos of him you could take 👀👹 of him strolling through the woods ecc
Please take charge of decorating this man cabin cause its bland AS FUCK. he would take it as you finally feeling at home with him there so don't worry about the possibility of that bothering Jason. He would actually enjoy helping you assemble the furniture or helping moving stuff ecc
Please talk with him about anything you want to, he would never get bored of it and he'll be actually listening to every single word. He will remember everything you told him
Have you seen where this mountain of a man lives? You would have not only all the nature you want but a really prepared guide who can show you and tell you everything you want to know about the woods and its fauna. Even better that you liked to spend time at home cause that would take so much stress off Jason, he doesn't want you to get hurt or anything.
AS I STATED ON MY JASON'S HC HE LOVES TEA, THE FRUITY TYPE AND THE VANILLA ONE SO BE READY TO HAVE TEA TIMES WITH HIM WHILE WATCHING MOVIES
You like watching people doing things, uh? Good cause here you have a hard working, tall and handsome babe with a PHAT ASS who likes to fix and do things around the house.
This matchup made me think about this song:

Bruh, tracing is literally, as in literally literally one of the most used drawing-support techniques in history. Old painters did it. Throughout the history of animation it's been done. People are just sad sacks of shit who wanna be "Purists". Same with references, people are just pretending that "you must do it all from your mind" is the only way to be a good artist. Well listen up, even if it's from memory it's referencing. Drawing a skeletal structure and drawing on top is "tracing." 🙄
re this post
IKR!? I'm so sick of it. and how even half of the responses I see shutting down purists on the references are still like "as long as you don't trace uwu". ma'am there are drawing books that'll tell you to trace this figure then draw something on top of it. there's post after post and drama after drama about this and it's so awful, and so unfair on new artists. genuinely making out like tracing is somehow doing something morally wrong.
tbh my stance in an ideal world would be even more lax than the one I put forward in the post - as you may have guessed from my opinions re writing, when I go off on my rants about just how much of literary history is just rewrites (see: greek and roman epic poets) and fanfic (see: pretty much everything), and how copyright law is a plague. my stance in an ideal world would be "as long as it's not a literal replica that you're passing off as your own, you can trace some parts and then leave references like it's an essay and you're citing your sources". in an ideal world I'd be able to rewrite Harry Potter with the only change being that I added or altered every colour to be absolutely ridiculous, then called it "Harry Potter and The Colour Correction" and cited the original book.
we don't live in an ideal world, so my stance is still that you should cite/not pass off as your own entirely, but also that you shouldn't sell anything traced at all, but other than that go wild. especially in your own room learning to draw - in fact I'd go as far as to say you should trace sometimes then, it's a great way to get used to knowing how to move your hand to make certain shapes you want to be able to draw. contrary to popular belief, nobody is born with the ability to just know exactly how this shape is made with a pencil, you have to learn.
also purists are so dumb, there's some great wheezywaiter videos (can't remember links to any others but you get the idea) on how literally nothing is original, and it's one of the most important things I think new writers/artists should come to terms with. there is absolutely nothing original, everything you have ever done, said, thought, or created was inspired by something and will have similarities to so many things, completely unrelated and loosely related alike.
the more I think about tracing, the more I think it's a direct comparison to what I've said about writing, Ovid is considered a great yet... he literally rewrote other people's stuff. like, you know his work if you know the version of the Medusa myth where she started human - he did that, that was him, Medusa existed prior and he just changed her backstory. THAT may not have even been original, as we don't know if the artists depicting her as beautiful were what inspired him or visa versa, or if they were both inspired by a third source. he did the literary equivalent of tracing and then adding his own flare (albeit I think his flare made it worse, but that's just me), and that's fine. it's a really new thing that we give a shit.
old painters learnt to paint when they were apprentices by copying and tracing the work of the person teaching them. you don't learn to draw or write or create in a vacuum, you just copy what others do. and copying just from replicating a movement, rather than following a line, is a harder place to start, and there's literally no reason to force yourself to dive into the deep end right away.
like, this is a weird example, but do you remember how many old trends on youtube were started by people like AmazingPhil, and he'd just be like "yeah, it's fine, you can do this idea, I don't own it", because they'd made their own video bouncing off his idea, they hadn't just reuploaded it. people treated it like he was owed something for what they'd done, and he was like "no, seriously I don't mind, I guess a shout out would be nice though". I remember hearing that he was "such a saint" for it, and given the climate that's true, but his stance should really be the norm. he was correct. everyone else just wants to be angry about things and has had their brains poisoned by omnipresent overzealous copyright laws.
this is one of those things where you think it's a massive deal because the whole of society acts like there's some moral sin committed, and then one day something just clicks and you go "wait, this is actually fine? in fact it's good? in fact it's what humans have always done? what the fuck?" and then you don't know how to turn that lightbulb on for others as they screech about how the tiniest infringement on the sanctity of "nuh uh this is mine and it's original and you're only permitted to look" is pure evil.
nothing is original, everything you make will always be retold in weird ways, even if those ways stay in someone's brain. when I went to an event once, I was talking to some other writers, and I said I don't think your story is finished when you stop writing it, it's just words on a page, it isn't finished until it gets read by someone and made into some unique visualisation in their mind, and then it gets finished in slightly different ways every time anyone reads it, and even then it's not really finished because anyone may dream up their own additions, and you have no control over that. you got inspired by others, you built on that and made something, others bring that to life and build on it - you didn't create and finish a piece in the void, you're one part of an everlasting process. and I had a mix of responses, ranging from strong agreement to "well duh" and beyond, but some people acted like that was totally stupid - like, nope the finished book is my book and it's how I want it and it's finished and that's that. idk how to tell you that you live in a society, buddy.

Here's the summary of part 4 of Dalim's route.
I gained more followers than i thought i would for a blog i created only for showing my love for the two Tweedles and this makes me quite happy. I'll try to post those summaries daily, but i'm not so sure i can do that since i also have work and a dissertation to make.
Dum and Alice were right outside the bar, when she spotted a wanted poster with a picture of a man wearing a mask and who went by the name of Joker. Dum told her about how Harr was an outstanding researcher before he chose the 'wrong' path. He then creates more misunderstandings about the poor boy by saying that he might be planning to do some really evil deeds that'll change the country. He changed the subject and started talking about the people who have an innate magic power (wizards). He told her that if a wizard uses up all their magic then they'll die. He then offers to teach her how to recognize a wizard, but she needs to give him a kiss first. She didn't want to give him a kiss with no meaning behind it (or smth along those lines). He then said it's just a joke and teased her a bit.
Tumblr media
Dum: "Then did you imagine us kissing for a moment?"
(i imagine us doing so much more, my love ❤️)
Tumblr media
Dum: "You're so cute when you're blushing, so i'm going to teach you this"
He drew even closer to her and put his hands on her shoulders, gazing into her eyes. He continued saying in a serious tone that she can recognize a wizard by the color of their eyes. When they use magic their eyes become crimson red, but they won't change their color if they use a magic crystal, so this technique has its limitations. On her way to work the next day she met Dean and mistook him for Dum. She apologized for the mistake and he said it's fine. She continued to look after him even after they parted wondering if he was a relative of Dum's. She saw him chiding some of his students for frolicking around before the day of the exam. He said he's going to make the exam harder Once she arrived at the bar, she found Dum collapsed on the floor in the kitchen and asked him if she should call the doctor, but he said he'll be fine if he rests a bit. She couldn't just leave him lying there on the floor, so she decided to move him to his bed in his room.
Tumblr media
This is how his room looks like in case you were curious.
He asked her to give him his medicine. In her search for it she spotted a magic crystal which was brighter and more pretty than the others, but Dum told her not to touch it because it's dangerous. Actually, there are many dangerous items in his room, so she should be careful. She noted how his room looked more like a researcher's room rather than the stylish room she imagined it to be. She also realized how much medicine he needs to take and how his condition might be worse than she thought it was. He then told her she can go home because he can't open the bar in this state. However, she claimed that she can open it and run it by herself since the food was already prepared. Dum hesitated at first, but seeing that she was so determined and asked him to treat her like an equal, not like a princess, he let her do it
