Pretty much all of my flowers enjoy the Eorzean holidays. To varying degrees of course.

Lily is partial to heavensturn, as it originates from her homeland.

A’tyla and Yasha are both enjoyed of Little Ladies’ day, as the festival started in their home city state. (And they both went thru a little Princess phase, Yasha’s being much later however)

Tatiava and Eulanne adore All Saints Wake, Tati for the spooks, Eulanne for the void sent company. (Eulanne feels less of a monster around true voidsent.) (Jana is very confused why the city states allow voidsent to be about freely, but she hasn’t attacked any since her incident the first time it rolled around.)

Jana, Beat and Mai enjoy the moonfire faire, as the summer breeze and beach fun is a delight. (Beat and Mai use it as an excuse to visit Limsa every year, as technically they are wanted by the Yellowjackets for unlawful piracy years back. Not that it is really enforced anymore, but you know.)

Benoit and Lhei don’t take part in holiday celebrations much, Benoit because of his lamentations (and spoilery things I’m working on for his revamp) and Lhei gets too lost in her work to notice the holidays happening.

A’tyla gets the most into the gift giving of Starlight, whereas Yasha and Tati spend time with their partners enjoying the cheer.

Marisol is neutral to the holidays. She will gladly take part in them, but she is always hunting for new experiences. The L’Rae twins are also neutral, tho Deta does try to celebrate some of the holidays of their shard with Pola. Myste will happily share in the celebrations, but does not actively seek them out. Whereas the Archeologist enjoys every holiday equally, seeing them with fondness of an adult watching their kids grow up. (She’s a bit older than most of the celebrations.

Hatchingtide isn’t beloved or beloathed by any of my characters. It kinda just happens.

Your coronation ceremony will take place the next day and there will be a ball in the evening. Half of Suda turns up to the parade ground for the ceremony. There are about 40 important people on the stage - other knights, heads of the noble families, some archmage from the other side of Persia. The Crown Prince of the neighbouring Legisal Empire is there.

Adam (playing Billie): Do they pass the sword and crown down the line of nobles?

DM: That actually was my plan, yes. Every dignitary tries them on to prove once again that nobody but you has the grace to wield them. Some of the heads of the noble houses are visibly disappointed. There's a moment of tension when the Legisal Prince tries them on and even scattered boos. They're passed through all the knights including you guys, but skip Billie.

Tati (playing Seraph): Do the crowd notice she's skipped?

DM: Definitely. Finally it comes to Emperor Cherish. Instead of handing them back to the Master of Ceremonies when he's tried them on, he turns to Billie and goes down on one knee. The crowd is dead silent.

Adam: I take the crown.

DM: It blazes into shining gold and brilliant emeralds as soon as it touches your head. There's a ripple through the crowd.

Adam: I turn to Cherish and go down on my knee too. I put my hand on the sword without taking it.

DM: The dented iron blade transforms into its full blue and gold glory with you both holding it, almost too dazzling in the sun to look at.

Adam: And then I grab it and jump up and cheer!

DM: The crowd erupts. The cheering is deafening. You were already beloved in this city. The cheers go on for a long time.

"Wed her to me." Malleus' voice is strong, and he speaks without hesitation. He stares at his grandmother with a fire in his eyes that Tati has rarely ever seen.

"When I offered up my crown, you said I could have anything. I want Tati. I'll take her as she is, and wed her in the tradition of our house." His grandmother watches her grandson with an unreadable look.

For once, Tati doesn't know what to say. Malleus' grandmother's disapproval of her wasn't a surprise, but she had no idea he gave up his crown just for her.

It's no secret that she's been happier since being with Malleus. And she'd like to think Malleus was happy with her. But this...was unprecedented.

"Very well. You may wed her. And after your union, you aren't to come back to Briar Valley."

"Malleus wait-" Tati tries to stop him, but it's no use.

"I agree to the terms. For as long as I am with Tati, I am happy." The princess stares at her ex-prince in shock, his words blindsided her.

"Malleus, you can't be serious. I ain't worth this. Briar Valley is your home, we don't have to be married for you to lose everything." Malleus wasn't being reasonable, not to Tati. There had to be an alternative, a way to fix this.

"The human speaks truth, Malleus." The fae ignores the elder fae as he approaches Tati, taking her hands in his before holding them to his chest.

"My beloved, you fail to understand. I would give up my life for you. I would go to the ends of the world for you. My status is nothing if I can't have you. You are my home, Tati. If I am with you, I am where I need to be. If I lose you, then I will have lost everything." He stares deep into her eyes as he speaks. His voice is laden with emotion, and Tati can't look away from him.

She loved Malleus too. All of him, in his entirety.

"Malleus...you make me sick. But, I love you too. More than you know. So," Tati takes a breath, "if this is what you want, then let's get married."

The spark of joy from the young fae male is evident as a smile breaks across his face. The young woman presses a light kiss to his cheek before enveloping him in a hug. At this point, they were the only ones present. In their own world, together.
