Unpopular opinion: Bilbo is the one with all the bad bed habits, and Thorin is about ready to rip his hair out at night having to deal with it. Yes, I will elaborate.
Thorin has been living on the road for almost 150 years. That has probably made him a light sleeper, and the scene where Fili and Kili try to convince Bilbo there are orcs out there, and he immediately wakes up with a jolt kind of proves this. I think that’s way too long for the comforts of Erebor to erase.
Meanwhile, Bilbo has been living alone...for a long time with all the comforts he can afford (which is basically anything he wants). I bet he snores and he hogs the covers and he mumbles in his sleep and he flops all night long. He’s not had to compromise any of those points for someone else so why would he? Sure, he was irritated with Gloin’s snoring on the quest, but I take that as a sort of “Princess and the Pea” moment. Bilbo can’t really, fully sleep anywhere unless it’s on a nice, pillowy, goose-feather mattress with silken sheets of the highest thread count he can afford.
So imagine the first night in Erebor where they do sleep together. Thorin has traveled with Bilbo all this time, he knows Bilbo is a relatively easy sleep partner. Only now Bilbo has his comforts again, and he rolls to the middle of the bed, pulling the covers along with him. He grumbles in his sleep, he stretches out like a cat, kicking Thorin at different points (and always right when Thorin is finally asleep), and he snores right in Thorin’s ear. Because that’s another thing he’s come to discover is Bilbo likes to bury his nose in Thorin’s neck to keep warm at night, and now a damp spot is forming from the condensation that is rather uncomfortable.
Bilbo wakes up that morning having had the best sleep since Bag End. And Thorin is wondering if he can actually get used to it, or if he needs to talk Bilbo into separate beds...

Sleepy Lo’ak headcannons
Lo’ak sleeps weirdly and it scares the shit out of Jake.
He’ll fall asleep in weirdest places.
Jake once found him tucked under Grace’s tank as a child.
He's found him curled up cutely in Norm’s link unit when the guy tried to link up to his avatar.
Lo'ak has been found wrapped up in the vines of a tree, having fallen from his ikran and gotten himself stuck for long enough to require a quick power nap - Jake definitely made Norm trek all the way back to base camp to get him a camera.
They've found him when he was supposed to be fishing, knocked out on the rocks with his toes dangling in the water, the bait nowhere to be found, and his spear swept away by the current.
He almost looks dead since he's so deep that he’s barely breathing, his limbs a dead weight. He kind of reminds Jake of those cats that refuse to wake up regardless of how many times you lift their head, it’ll drop like a dead weight back onto the pillow. Lo’ak is exactly the same. His head flopping back into his hammock at a broken neck angle, his breath barely stuttering.
You can bet he’ll be complaining about the neck pain for days to come, especially with some of the positions his head falls in.
Once he’s asleep, there’s no waking him up until he’s ready to rise and shine. Which was a godsend when he was a baby, all curled up in his sling against Neytiri or Jake’s chest, snoring away. Either parent could do anything with him. Have him around the clan during meals, take him out on their ikrans, have him in the lab. Anywhere, regardless of the noise level, he’d only come around when he wanted to be fed. A real dream compared to Neteyam who had constantly fussed for attention.
And then there’s now sleeping. If Lo’ak happens to fall asleep in someone else’s hammock, good luck getting him to move short of tipping him out of it. Kiri has had to sleep in his one too many times, when he’d mistaken hers for his whilst half awake.
In the reef village, he’s terrible for rolling onto someone else’s mat, knocking or bullying them out of it with sleepy elbows or sheer speed and force, only to curl up and refuse to move for the rest of the night.
It’s funny when he kicks Jake off of his shared mat with Neytiri, since Lo’ak’s mat is across the room with Kiri and Neteyam between them.
It’s not so funny when Jake sits bolt upright in the middle of the night to the sound of Tuk sobbing and the sight of Lo’ak curled around her mat like it's some kind of stuffed animal. Being an ex-marine, Jake is mortified in admitting that his youngest son won that wrestling match and he had to convince Tuk to sleep on Lo’ak’s mat for the night.

Sirius didn't sleep long. He went to bed usually really late after cigarettes, chats with James and being immersed in his own thoughts. And the next day, he didn't mind waking up early if he had to. He was never sleepy.
But he slept less when he had nightmares (which were constant), and he couldn't stop thinking about something that was troubling him. He usually got sleepy after those nights. He fell asleep in class and The Marauders worried. Of course he acted like everything was okay.
Remus appreciated his hours of sleeping. Even though he tried to stay up, there was a time when he couldn't take it anymore and he had to go to bed. He didn't wake up at all during the night. And the next day, no human force could wake him up easily. The Marauders took turns to wake him up while they got ready. And often got insulted by an irritated Remus. Even after sleeping like a baby, he was constantly tired.
There were times of course when Remus couldn't sleep because something was worrying him. But when he fell asleep, he didn't wake up anymore.
That's why when they got together, it was Sirius who fell asleep way after Remus and woke up first (mostly everytime). So it was Sirius who watched his little angel sleep. Sirius loved to just lay there and obverse his Remus. He knew perfectly well how he moved, how he hugged his pillow, how he whispered things, and how he slowly woke up. He knew the entire process by memory. And he adored it. He fell in love with Remus every time. And he couldn't believe how lucky he was. Remus was even more beautiful in those moments.
Sometimes, when Remus couldn't sleep, he would observe Sirius. Or when Sirius had a nap during the day. Remus would watch him with the same fascination. Remus was also known for staring at Sirius during the day.
But in the night or very early in the morning, it was Sirius who watched his beautiful prince sleep. It was his little secret. He would never admit such cheesy gesture. But he loved doing that.

Between TK and Carlos, who's the one:
talking in his sleep? (And by that I mean making little noises that don’t necessarily make sense)
snoring?
moving around until the other one pulls him into his arms?
Please discuss 😉

{Let’s Talk Sleep Habits…}
Oh my, Darling… I’m sorry. I’m proud of you for reaching out about this. ♥️
Some things you might try are going to end at the same time every night, removing all screens/technology in the 2 hours before you go to bed, drinking some calming tea/herbs to help calm and lull you to sleep, listening to white noise/calming noise, sleeping in a dark room, etc.
Everyone is different, everyone’s body is different. But those are some tips that tend to work well and gear people towards a healthier sleep cycle.
Getting good sleep is extremely important. Your sleep sets you up for success in the next days to come. Adults need at least 5-6 hours of sleep per night at a minimum. Teenagers should be getting more like 8-10 hours every night. Don’t underestimate the importance of your sleep. Thanks again for reaching out, sweet anon! I hope you have a lovely day/night!! 💞💞💞

Sleeping habits :
Cletus usually likes to have an entire plush bed to himself, but when sharing with Goal he feels secure being the little spoon.
Rufus is a wriggler, and would sleep anywhere he can, but when with Toni he seeked out her soft skin to rub his scratchy beard into.
Argus would tell you sleep is for the weak and doomed, though he is actually a master of pretending to be awake, and can even be found sleeping standing

okay update for anyone wondering.
I have been writing the next chapter for Sleeping Habits. I actually have made it through my writers block (knock on wood) and I even finally figured out a godamn plot despite struggling to come up with one for some time.
Unfotunatly either the ides of March or fanfiction writer luck has struck me and I was badly bitten by a feral cat. I'm in the process of getting rabies shots and have been put on a round of antibiotics but my hand is kinda fucked right now.
So, I know i don't really have a posting schedule or anything but if anyone is wondering whats taking so damn long, there you have it.

domaystic 16: sleeping habits
On AO3
Written for @domaystic
John rolls over in the bed, rocking the mattress as he repositions to get comfortable. The wool blankets are caught between his knobbly knees and they move with him, sliding off Rodney’s body as he turns to face the wall.
Rodney instinctively pulls the blankets back over himself with a practised hand and turns the other way, his butt bumping habitually up against John’s sorry excuse for an ass, which takes up far more space in the bed than anything so small and bony should.
It’s cozy, and the shared warmth between their bodies lulls Rodney into a restful sleep.

Last night, after around three decades on this earth, I finally experienced what it feels like to go to bed and just...sleep.
My "bedtime routine" is putting on any random t-shirt to sleep in, plopping myself on the bed and then spending the next hour or so getting up every few minutes because I need to pee, I'm thirsty, the t-shirt is too tight/itchy, the room is too hot or too cold, the pillows aren't right... until exhaustion takes me and I pass out.
Last night I decided to be smart. I chose a comfortable t-shirt. I went to the bathroom, I drank enough water, I set a good temperature and placed my pillows, all of that before laying down. I was comfortable and all my needs were taken care of before going to bed, so all I had to do was sleep. "I'm a genius", I thought.
And then it hit me.
Is this what people mean by "getting ready for bed"?
Like, all my life I thought it was just a phrase and now I'm finding out "nighttime routines" have a reason for existing. So you can just lay down and sleep.
Why did no one tell me?!

From the show, I guess Hoyeol likes to sleep wrapped like a burrito or like a caterpillar. So I imagine that in happy after military AU when he and Junho live together, Junho hugs that mess of blankets and Hoyeol in it (Junho runs warm, he sleeps in a t-shirt or no t-shirt. Hoyeol is constantly cold)
Plus, no matter how big the blanket bundle is, Hoyeol still hides his nose in Junho's neck.
I imagine something like this:

Sleeping Habits
Yuiji
Yuiji regularly deals with insomnia. If he can't fall asleep, he'll go bug Azuki until he's bored or go on walks in the dead night. It worried his mom when he started doing that as a middle schooler, but she's been ignoring the door creaking open and close at 2am once he graduated to high school.
Yamato
Entirely depends on his day. Normally, he falls asleep pretty easily and he likes to stick to a regular sleeping schedule even when he doesn't have school because he's naturally so bad at waking up. However, any embarrassing or anxiety-ridden incident will keep him up as the memory runs again and again in his mind.
Hongou
Hongou knocks out immediately. He'll promise to videocall Mayu, but he'll get too comfy on the couch and accidentally ghost her. He'll lay down on his bed to take a nap and fall asleep with his phone on his face. He's the type of person to wake up with the sun though and doesn't need to use an alarm clock.
Nacchan
Nacchan has a really bad sense of time. She'll tell herself that she's going to sleep at a certain time but will inevitably get distracted by something like a capybara hot springs compilation video or get carried away with crocheting a daisy coaster and have to scramble to brush her teeth and sleep an hour after she was supposed to. Like Yamato, she's also naturally bad waking up, but she has five alarms set to wake herself up. Her brother is a light sleeper and hates them.
Seki
Seki usually has a pretty set sleeping schedule and just wakes up with a ring of an alarm on his phone. However, occasionally, he gets really invested in a new video game, and his sleeping schedule will get absolutely demolished. His hyperfixation usually only crests for about a week though before he returns to normalcy.
Mayu
Mayu has a Type A pre-sleep routine. She has all her steps of skincare to go through and doesn't let herself surf on her phone right before she sleeps. If she ever sleeps through her alarm or goes to sleep accidentally later than she intended, she'll be a bit grumpy for the rest of the day. She definitely relies on caffeine to get through these days.
Sakura
What is a sleep schedule? Sakura sleeps when he wants and wakes when he wants. He begrudgingly sets an alarm on school days, but other than that, does not abide by any regular schedule. If he's in the middle of a riveting drama, he will sleep when the birds are chirping and wake up at 4pm with no remorse. He hates taking naps though; they give him headaches.
Akiyama
Akiyama is a doomscroller. Social media algorithms have him on lock and he just can't escape scrolling through instagram reels of impressive skateboard tricks, thirst traps, and cute dogs. Miyano had to force him to delete TikTok when it was first released because Akiyama just couldn't escape. Other than staring at a blue screen for a little too much before he sleeps though, Akiyama's got a pretty standard sleep schedule. He'll wake up and sleep regularly for school and wakes up a bit later on his weekends.
