I was soo happy you with what you did with Eileen and now I’d love to know which LIs you see with Jay! 💖
She’s a serious gal at first, even can be a bit intimidating, but once she starts getting close with someone the sweeter she becomes.
There she is 🖤💅🏼
The Men>
🤍Logan🤍
Ofc gotta include Logan. He’ll more than understand the whole aspect of “intimidating but sweet” thing Jay has because he can relate. Her quietness and indifference to his recent history made her one of his top people to escape and find company with when trying to settle back in Sandrock prove to be mentally taxing. Also, she needs to stop stealing his goat.
The Ladies>
🍇Heidi🍇
Heidi is friendly and tries to make everyone feel included. She’ll be sweet to Jay and invite her to do things. Let her know she values her as more than a builder doing her bidding for some projects. Heidi’s got such an endearing personality, she’d probably crack Jay’s cold demeanor and mask.
Forbidden Route>
🏅Pen🏅
One I’ve realized but sat on for a bit of time. Jay’s one of the few builder ocs out there that actually made Pen feel something. Initially, it began with her going off on him and wanting a rematch after the disastrous sparring lesson- once of course, Jay was able to wake up and stand straight. But Pen got a kick in how her cold and intimidating demeanor actually seemed like it was fake. That her rbf was just making it seem that way. Until after pestering her, he slowly realizes she protects herself and that she’s actually sweet and kind. Something in him clicks and he unknowingly begins to grow attached and protective of her. He’s less of an asshole where she’s concerned. And she’s the one he has to lie to at the end as he carries a faked cruel smile when he’s dying inside.

6. What’s their opinion on the Church of the Light?
7. What’s their opinion on the Research Centre?
8. Are they interested in the old world?

secondly, the fact that it then comes down to two dialogue options, one which very clearly states that you're breaking up with him but another which Does Not (“we’ll talk about this after i kick your butt!”) is what i’m holding on to the hardest rn.
i can't believe it doesn't get followed up on(at least not yet?) like i can't believe that if you go and see him in the cell right afterwards he doesn't even have any special dialogue for you if you’re dating him?? the audacity??
i am fully imagining my builder storming in there hollering “everyone but pen needs to face the wall, this is a conversation for me and pen ONLY. pen, get your ass over here, we are going to Have That Talk NOW, i am not fucking around about this. babe what the FUCK”
I will say once all the Duvos shit is handled, there IS more of a followup in jail with Pen. And it is. An even bigger emotional gutpunch AND THEN THERE'S ONE FINAL BIT AFTER THAT AND IT HURTS SO FUCKING BAD BRO
AND YET THE DIRECTOR/WRITING TEAM GOES :
'yeah we don't really care abt pen, his stuff is done. it's your fault for romancing him lol. u want romance content? go rebound with logan or become fang's surrogate mommywife'

for the WIP title tag game: "amnesia"
Ooooooh I'm so excited for this one. I don't have much yet except that it's a My Time At Sandrock post-main-quest longfic in which as a result of a bad accident, everyone's favorite yakboy monster hunter, Logan, loses all memory of the entire plot of the whole game and his relationship with everyone's favorite senior builder.
I do have this short snip which kind of gives the vibe:
Sure, he'll gain a lot when he regains his memories, but what will he lose? What did the desert take from him? How had he been worn down by four years in the endless sands, letting it scour his bones clean?
Thank you!!

AU five headcanons thing where everything is the same except...vampires (make of that what you will)
Hey, anon. Sorry for the late answer, I have been busy, but I finally have the free time I hit this.
Have been having fun coming up with an answer. Really love vampires lol.
At first, vampires living in the desert seem pretty unconventional, but in reality it's the best place to hide. It's the last place people would suspect, plenty of stuff from the old world to help vampires, and since it's the city state that gets the least amount of attention, Sandrock has become a sanctuary for vampires over the years.
Everyone has a story for how they became a vampire. Some were turned and others were born. The only one they aren't sure is a vampire or a human is the builder and that's still up in the air. Some are not even sure if they even know they are living in a town with vampires.
They are pretty good at hiding it whenever they have tourists or guests. It's pretty easy to lie to people about why almost the whole town only comes out at night and has heavy blinds on the windows. After all, it's easier being nocturnal in the desert.
Except with the Duvos situation. Most of the Duvos army was so smug about how easy it was taking over the town until the sun set.
Either way, the town of Sandrock is pretty peaceful and just wants a nice community. At least how the Alliance sees it.

Now that Project ME is confirmed to be set in the northern Eufaula desert, how will that affect Sandara's story since she's from around that area too? I feel like there's potential there, also the fact that we see a younger Logan there ;)
Well, I thought they were never going to use this area, and oh boy I was so wrong haha! So now it's going to be a bit challenging to strike a balance between my fan lore and the official game material, but I'll try,
It will definitely have some big impact on her story as I need to work out the relationship between her native tribe and the settlement first. The only thing I'm quite sure of now is that since we know it's supposed to be set somewhere in the past I can play Menkya, Sandara's older sister, for this game.
Logan will already have to face this fierce archer while I'm still looking for ways to intertwine his presence with Sandara nearby too.
As more information about Project ME becomes available, I will surely have to adapt Sandara's narrative to fit within the evolving My Time game world as best as I can. But it's both super entertaining and exciting at the same time to have this opportunity to develop my character way more than I could have imagined!
I signed up for the beta, so we'll see. And yes, definitely a lot of potential I must say I’m super curious about young Logan temper ;)
I’d love to hear any additional ideas from other members of the fandom if you have some too. My mind is already buzzing with so much possibilities right now x)
Thank you for asking Paofia ♡

Videogames I wish were real #2
A farming game but it all takes place underwater. You play as a merfolk person. You cultivate corals and algae and some sort of underwater fruits and veggies. Your cattle are oysters and jellyfish. Your mount is a seahorse. Instead of the usual mining mechanic being descending into a mine, in this game you ascend through the mine. The higher you go the more monsters you find. Sometimes you'll also find land animals, and, if you're very very lucky, even humans! Your charming lil aquatic town is near an ocean trench. A very deep and very dark ocean trench. You descend there sometimes too. The deeper you go, the rarer the creatures are. They always fetch some nice prices back in town, because very few people dare to venture into the deep darkness, and the archeologists in the museum always pay well for some of the unique specimens. There's a reverse fishing mechanic. You tie something buoyant to your pole and let it flow to the surface. The things you fish in the surface range from surface trinkets to materials or trash. There's a tunnel that leads to an underground cave with air and good soil where you cultivate some surface fungi and plants that don't need sun. Pretty early in the game a human cruise ship sinks. You're the only one that dares to go near. While the exterior chambers are submerged, there's plenty of inner rooms where there's still air, and that's where you find a human hermit. Upon befriending them you learn they stole and sank the ship on purpose. The hermit is self sufficient, and you trade stuff sometimes. They don't speak of whatever happened to the surface people. You've been told there's no danger of the tragedy spreading to your people, so you don't ask. You tend to your farm and your animals and befriend and romance npcs and keep living your best life in your lil underwater town.
Similar videogames that actually exist: Stardew Valley, Coral Island, My Time at Portia/Sandrock, Story of Seasons, Harvest Moon... and any other farming sim you can think off, basically

Sharing some of Logan’s lines I got while playing the multiplayer and also some screenshots!
"Not everyone's welcoming around these parts, Builder. You want respect? Gotta earn it."
"Lot of people talk a good game, but don't have it where it counts. If push ever comes to shove, hope we can count on you, Builder."
"If you don't see me around, well, that's probably 'cause I'm out taking care of the 'thing' that goes bump in the night. When monsters look under their bed, I'm the guy they're hopin' not to see lookin' back..."
"Listen: you see a monster comin' towards town, you take 'em out. Don't care how "cute" they look. Every single one of them would do us in, given the chance."
"You want some combat tips? Yeah. Hit the other guy before he hits you."
"Why don't a guy like me join the Civil Corps, you ask? I don't care for the uniform."
"You wanna do right by me? Help anyone who needs helpin', do anything that needs doin'. Work hard, don't complain so much. Matter of fact, act like that and I reckon you'd be doin' right by all."
"When duty calls, you answer. For me that means takin' out monsters that rear their ugly head around town. For you, that means puttin' this town together to the best of your ability. You watch my back, I'll watch yours."
"Long as you're here helpin' out around Sandrock, you're family. Mess with anyone here? You're messin' with me."
Now for the screenshots:
Tumblr media
Intro with Logan. It previously used to be Howlett but now with the story being completely scrapped it seems Logan replaced him.
Tumblr media
Official art without the hat and mask!

My man sleeps with his hat on and eyes open 😭
Tumblr media
Monster hunter base done! You can even enter it, got some screenshots of the inside (that i’ll use for… references 😏) and yeah, he’s lifting weights in the background, like usual lmao.
That’s it so far! I got more like giving him a heartknot, going on dates, etc. that I will eventually post… maybe.

After a number of personal tragedies, a young woman named Mitty leaves her home in Highwind to properly kickstart her career as a Builder in Sandrock. While she's still unsure of herself and hampered by her low self-esteem, she begins to find true happiness again as she meets the people around her. Someone who catches her eye in particular is the town's only doctor, Fang, a young man who seems just as lost as she is, if not more so. Feeling he needs companionship more than anything, Mitty vows to bring happiness to his life, little by little. However, she won't be able to suppress her growing feelings for him forever...
Swan's Treasure is my ridiculously ambitious blatantly self-indulgent personal fancomic series for My Time at Sandrock starring Fang and my OC, Mitty. I very much simply make this for fun, but this series grew much bigger than I was expecting, so I decided to make this index page to make it easier to navigate to each comic, especially since they're becoming less and less self-contained as I continue!
It is highly, highly recommended that you have played My Time at Sandrock before reading, as it is necessary to better understand the characters and story more. (I will die if i try to adapt every last piece of lore in the game, lol). That, and it is genuinely a fun game and I highly recommend it if you enjoy crafting sims + RPGs + both! As such, these comics will contain major spoilers for the game, so proceed with caution!
I may hop around to tackle story beats I may have missed or skipped over, so these are listed in chronological order.
Pushing Forward [part 1] [part 2] - Mitty leaves Highwind and moves to Sandrock to begin her career. She meets and makes several new friends, including the town's only doctor...
Earrings and Diagrams - Mitty continues to work for the people in Sandrock, which leads to her crossing paths with Fang again when X steals her earrings to try to impress CoCo.
Cheery Picnic - With some ideas from X, Mitty and Arvio invite Fang to a picnic to get to know him better. (The one that started it all!)
Mapo Tofu Weekend - After she and Fang get into a bit of an argument during a sandstorm, Mitty’s convinced he won’t want to see her again, so she’s surprised when he visits her and asks her to try the Mapo Tofu he made for her.
A PSA in Overwork (And Also Interfacing With Your Bestie's Boss) - Mi-an faints due to overwork and is ordered to take a week off by Fang. Yan uses the opportunity to shove all the commission work onto Mitty.
Doctor's Orders, Don't Interfere - A short follow up comic to A PSA in Overwork, Mitty and Fang go for a walk on a particularly hot day.
Shiny Hunting - In an effort to get them together, X and CoCo go out looking for jewels for Fang and Mitty. Things go downhill from there.
Season 2 Episode 36a Graveyard Shift - At Mort’s request, Mitty helps Fang tidy up the cemetery.
I Still Love You, Even Though I Miss You - Fang and Mitty spend the Day of Memories festival together and talk about their passed loved ones.
I’d Love More Dress Options - Fang wants to gift Mitty something, but doesn’t know what.
Painful Memory - A certain bandit attack in Sandrock triggers a harsh memory for Mitty.
She Clearly Feels Better, Doctor - A short follow up comic to Painful Memory, Mitty finishes sewing her new work outfit and shows it to Fang.
The Validity Test - Mitty gets a surprise visit from Nia. However, she seems pretty suspicious of Fang...
Regrets That Don't Disappear - Elsie asks Mitty to ask Fang about the incident that led to Logan becoming a bandit, but he won't say a word, even to her...
Bird Cage - Mitty tries to check up on Fang after their last meeting, but he seems to be doing even worse than before...
Things Changed While You Were Gone - Trudy comes back to Sandrock, noticing something has changed while she was away.
Don't Lose Your Patience - Fang listens in on a fireside meeting that quickly goes south.
Mahjong Break - Fang goes to check up on Mitty and gets roped into a Mahjong match at the Game Center.

Hi! I'm starting this blog partially because I've been lurking on Tumblr for a while and I want an excuse to push myself to interact with people, partially to practice my writing skills, and partially because I have a lot of passionate nerd rants about random topics that my girlfriend says I should share with more people. I hope to be writing a long-form post every week or two for now, but I hope to interact with other people, particularly the wizardposting community, in between. Feel free to ask me (nearly) anything, especially opinions on games of all kinds, TTRPGs, computer science, or arcane constructs!
This is a side blog, my main blog where I reblog random stuff unrelated to this is @dacid44.
Long-form stuff/Nerd rants (will be tagged with #nerd rant):

Fang/Ginger Concept
Tumblr media
This has been sitting in my docs for months so I might as well put the WIP on my blog! Hopefully I will have the juice to finish it this summer (-ω-  )💕
↓ Plot outline below: ↓
Ginger and Gust travel to Sandrock on the now-completed road from Portia in hopes of finding a cure for Ginger’s so-far terminal illness from the reclusive Dr. Fang, who has rumored success with curing, or at least alleviating symptoms for, mysterious and unknown illnesses.
After meeting with Dr. Fang, Ginger is prescribed a strict regimen of medications. The medicine is unusual but very potent, and Ginger must also return each month (weekly in-game) for treatments as well. Ginger enjoys the bus rides to Sandrock—even though its sun is even harsher on her than Portia’s—and Dr. Fang is much less scary than his name sounds.
Fang has already started practicing speaking to his patients more clearly with the help of the builder and he tries his best to be friendly. Ginger is easy to speak to, and her voice is soft, so he doesn’t find himself on edge very often. Gust is very distrustful of Fang’s intentions outside of his treatment plan for his sister, but the medicine is helping, so he keeps his snark to a minimum.
(During one visit, since they arrive at night, Ginger and Gust are stuck in the saloon during a sandstorm the following day. It’s worrisome, because Fang was very specific on when Ginger needed to be given her next dosage, but they hope one day of difference won’t hurt. Fang arrives at the saloon that afternoon in his sandstorm hat—looking a great deal cooler than he is—to deliver it to her by hand.
Ginger thinks he was really amazing to do something like that, but Fang is used to Sandrock’s cruel weather, and thinks nothing of it. Ginger offers to at least pay for his lunch, and Fang tries to refuse, until Gust insinuates it’s very rude to refuse hospitality that way. Fang is much more aware of social formalities these days thanks to his builder bestie, so he agrees to eat with them. Ginger talks to him nonstop for the entire meal.)
(They spend some time together each time Ginger visits, as he is her only acquaintance/friend in Sandrock, and she wants to tour the town and surrounding areas as much as she is allowed. There are cute things like parasol holding and talking (when Russo accompanies her on the trip instead of her brother), but little else. It’s very pleasant for both parties.)
Ginger begins to feel better, and her treatment changes to every-other month. It seems like an awfully long time after seeing the doctor so often the seasons previous, and she writes him a letter to check-in. Fang mentions this to the builder and she asks if he has written her a reply. He has not. The builder explains that it is good manners to respond to a personal letter like that, and Fang holds the builder’s opinions quite high, so he tries his best to formulate a response.
After a rough start, speaking in a written form turns out to be much simpler than talking in person. He tries to thoughtfully answer each of the questions Ginger asks him, and then gives the letter to Jasmine to send back to Portia.
Upon her next visit, Ginger is elated that he wrote her back, and loves the idea of having a pen-pal in Sandrock. Fang has never heard of such a thing. Ginger explains, and Fang is reluctant, but agrees to always send a response if she writes to him.
They begin to write to each other frequently, and Fang enjoys it more than he thought he would. It is simpler to say what is on his mind when writing, and he can always look back on what Ginger had said to make sure he understood correctly. Ginger is having a lot of fun with it, and sometimes includes little trinkets she made by hand. Fang doesn’t really know what to do with them, but supposes they are kind gestures and he should say thank you.
In a letter from the first of Spring (*for the dramatic effect), Ginger tells Fang that she sat out on her balcony and watched the sun rise, and stayed in its rays as they fell over the trees. Russo was so concerned when he found her doing that, but she had sat in tearful, happy awe for nearly fifteen minutes by then, just enjoying the feeling of the sun on her hands and face. She promises to not make a habit of it yet, but that she was so eager to see if she could. Fang is very happy to read that—he is always happy to see the positive effects his care can bring.
The next visit, Gale accompanies Ginger and Russo to meet Dr. Fang for himself. He is his usual jolly self and thanks Fang deeply for his work that has brought his beloved daughter so much joy and energy. He invites Fang back to Portia for a small, expense-paid vacation as a show of thanks, and Ginger pushes hopefully for Fang to accept. He’s wary, but agrees to go. Ginger is so excited, and asks her father if she may spend the day with Fang while he visits with Mayor Trudy. Gale agrees to that as well, and takes Russo with him to let the young'uns have a nice playdate.
Fang and Ginger have an actual playdate, and do a few activities around town at Ginger’s request. Fang tells her about the Whack-a-Mole game instead of playing it, since neither of them are very athletic or aggressive, but he has played it with the builder once before. Mostly they walk around town and talk from sunset to evening, and after it is dark enough, Ginger asks Fang if there is somewhere safe in the desert to stargaze.
He takes her out a ways (someplace with grass?), and they stargaze there for a while. They go from sitting to laying, and it would be obvious to anyone except for Fang that Ginger is crushing on him very hard. She moves in close enough to rest her head against his shoulder, and talks about how excited she is to show him around Portia. Fang is very surprised by the close contact, but it’s not unwelcome, so he doesn’t move away. He really has no idea what to do, so he just lays there like a bump on a log.
Once it’s officially late, Fang escorts Ginger to the inn, then heads home to pack a bag for his impromptu trip. X teases him a little bit about his date, but Fang tells him that the builder already explained the difference between playdates and dates to him.
Come morning, Fang and X meet the Gale family at the bus stop, much to Ginger’s absolute delight. She takes his wrist to guide him into the bus, and along the way asks her father if she can pretty-please sit beside Dr. Fang for the ride back home. Gale can’t say no of course, and Ginger giddily ushers Fang into one of the bench seats with her. She offers him the window seat, and Fang asks if she prefers the window seat from the way she talks it up. She does, so Fang nods for her to sit there despite her insistence that she has landmarks to point out to him. He says he can easily see out the window from the aisle seat to see what she is pointing out, and Ginger thinks he’s very gentlemanly for it.
They spend the bus ride talking, mostly Ginger while Fang listens, and they arrive back in Portia in the late afternoon. The townies are very welcoming for the doctor that has helped their ailing sweetheart so much, and it’s a little overwhelming for Fang. Dr. Xu is very excited to meet him, and asks him in length about Seesaian medicine. Ginger is a little too soft-spoken to save Fang from being bombarded just yet, so Gale is kind enough to wave everyone off until the next day, “give the doctor some breathing room”, etc.
Ginger is more than happy to take Fang back to the mayoral manor and show him around instead. She gives him a tour, shows him his room they made up for him, and then tells him when dinner will be ready if he’d like to rest before then. Fang definitely needs a lay-down after so much socializing, and takes her up on the offer. He lays in this giant fluffy bed and thinks about the stark contrast between his world and Ginger’s, but is too tired to think about it too much. After a short nap, he tidies up and goes downstairs for dinner as instructed.
Obviously Ginger made sure his seat was beside hers, much to Gust’s suspicion and annoyance.
The next day Ginger happily shows Fang around town, and tries to not worry too much about the fact that her brother has accompanied them literally everywhere. It’s fun even though they’re not technically alone, but she still wishes she could get some time with just the two of them. Fang seems less comfortable with Gust’s hovering, mostly because Ginger doesn’t seem to notice at all Gust’s constant mad-dogging.
That night, Ginger sneaks out of the house with Fang, to show him the beach in the moonlight (a sight she’s very familiar with) and to spend some time talking without a chaperone.

I wanna know things about cutie Hestia 💗
3. Which city state would they most like to visit, and why?
4. Who are they closest with in Sandrock? What’s their relationship with that person?
7. What’s their opinion on the Research Centre?
18. What’s their favourite holiday?
23. What song do you associate most with their time in Sandrock?
(also bonus one How did you find her name ? I adore the sound of it ! ♡)
Tysm for the ask! <3 And thank you for loving Hestia so much :’)
3. Which city state would they most like to visit, and why?
Hestia has pretty much been everywhere at this point, due to her childhood, but if he had to choose he’d either like to go back to his hometown of Portia or Walnut Groove.
4. Who are they closest with in Sandrock? What’s their relationship with that person?
Hestia is closest with Fang, who she’s in a romantic relationship with! She’s been pretty insistent on getting to know Fang ever since he first moved to Sandrock, and it seems his efforts all paid off in the end. She also has a little bit of romantic history with Owen from their teenage years, and considers him to be her best friend.
7. What’s their opinion on the research centre?
As a builder, Hestia works in close tandem with the research centre! Without them he wouldn’t be able to have a lot of the things that he has now, plus her general interest in old world machinery means that she spends a lot of time in the research centre, mulling over new diagrams with Qi. In the church vs research debate, Hestia tends to lean towards the research side.
18. What’s their favourite holiday?
Hestia is incredibly fond of the Day of Memories. He’ll always take a day off of doing commissions when it rolls around - it gives her time to honor her late father, as well as the sacrifices that were made to get the world where it is today.
23. What song do you associate most with their time in Sandrock?
I have a whole playlist dedicated to Hestia, but if I have to pick one song, it would have to be Horses are Faster by Ian Munsick!
I could pull up some specific lyrics, but I won’t do that to keep this post short!
As for the final question, how Hestia got his name! I have a habit of naming all of my insert characters after Greek gods/goddesses! For example my Portia builder is called Cupid! Hestia is the Goddess of Home and the Hearth, which I thought suited a builder type role quite well ^^

hello! I’ve been reading your posts about Pen and ☠️ man I hate when that happens, when a character or concept gets scratched from a game last minute and you can just tell. Pen is that. It sucks because from the beginning I immediately knew there was more to his character than they wanted us to believe. My only hope is that Pen’s story isn’t really done? Maybe there will be mention of him in the upcoming game? But even then would that be a satisfying resolution for Pen?
Hello! I agree, he has so much potential, AND YET. We've been given mere crumbs ☠️
I don't know if his characterization got cut during development - iirc his romance was a kickstarter milestone, so they probably added his romance content to his already developed story (and if he was supposed to be the Big Villain since from the start, then they perfectly knew they were giving us another Aadit-like romance... PATHEAAA)
His Chinese version feels much more cohesive and complete. English Pen is... heh. He's still funny and sweet (and sad), but the difference between the two versions is abysmal and, frankly, depressing. The English localizer butchered his character imo.
Perhaps, if fans keep asking for it, they will finally give us more stuff. Logan already appears in the upcoming game (which isn't really "upcoming" - it's a mobile game developed by another company to which Pathea lent the concept), so that's out of the question. Our last hope is receiving more updates and DLCs for Sandrock, and the devs just said in their Discord channel that they are aware of people's desire for more content that isn't centered on Logan and Fang. Their exact words were: "Thanks for your feedback. This is some of the most requested feedback we get. I can't say for sure if everyone will get all the content we would like but we are going to do our best to get as much done as possible."

Logan and the Builder as Andy’s adoptive parents:
So this ended up being more how the builder and Logan became Andy’s adoptive parents than what they’re like as parents lol.  I’ll try and find an ask game for parents and do that for Logan and the builder, or just send in asks of headcanons you want!
CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR KNIVES OUT, THOSE ARE UNDER THE CUT
Andy is actually what cemented the builder’s belief that Logan wasn’t entirely guilty or completely bad to the bone.  After snooping investigating his house with Elsie and Mi-an, they’d already started to doubt the narrative the town was giving them. Meeting Andy was just confirmation.  You don’t get a kid that sweet and well taken care of by people as evil as Sandrock said Logan and Haru were
When Andy first revealed himself after his gambit as Bronco the Kid, the builder’s immediate thought was, “I can’t believe I’m a parent now.”  Not even knowing how he ended up with Logan and Haru, the builder just knew this kid needed someone in his corner.  (It wasn’t too long ago they were new to Sandrock and a stranger to everyone in town.  They couldn’t imagine going through that as a kid)
When Logan takes the Super Shock Shield and tells Andy he’s out of the gang, the builder knows that Logan is trying to protect him.  Whatever outlaw business he’s up to is too dangerous for a kid, and Sandrock is a more stable nurturing environment than life on the run.  Once again, supporting their view that Logan is not as rotten as the town would assume
Seeing how much it upsets Andy though, the builder doubles down on parenting.  Taking him sandfishing, bringing him gifts, hanging out in general.  Even though we can’t do it in the game, the builder totally brings Andy along on their horse to get ores and collect resources around the less dangerous areas of Sandrock.  Basically showering this kid with love and affection so he doesn’t feel alone or unwanted at all
When Logan and Haru return to Sandrock, the builder has mixed feelings.  It’s great seeing Andy so happy to be back with his original adoptive family, but they’re also gonna miss the kid
Except Andy has BondedTM with the builder during his time in Sandrock and insists on visiting them often.  Logan gets dragged along, as does Haru, but not as often.  It’s clear Andy has imprinted more on Logan out of the two of them
This is because although Haru was always nice and supportive of Andy, they didn’t BondTM the way he and Logan did.  Logan knows what it is to be an orphan in the world, saw that in Andy, and strove to make things better for the kid so he wouldn’t feel the crushing loneliness Logan did after his Pa died
Because of this, the builder and Logan end up spending a lot of time together.  Even without this, they were falling for each other, but their mutual parenting of Andy definitely helped.
The first time Andy gets sick Logan is out of his mind with worry.  He’s completely torn between wanting to make sure Andy is okay so he doesn’t get as sick as Howlett and remembering what happened when Howlett got “treatment” for his illness
Eventually, he just panics and takes Andy to the builder like !!! ?!?!? ??!!!! and the builder talks him down.  They take Andy to Fang’s, get him some medicine, and everything works out fine
Naturally, while Andy is recovering he stays at the builder’s to be closer to Fang, so of course Logan stays there too
This event is what will eventually tip the builder and Logan into a romantic relationship
Up until Andy’s teenage years, the builder is the helicopter smothering parent for sure, and Logan is the fun dad who teaches his kid monster fighting stuff they’re probably too young to know
But it backfires cause as Andy gets older, he wants to go out and use all the monster fighting stuff Logan has taught him and the poor man is backpedaling
As Andy gets older, the builder wants him to be self sufficient, like their parents let them be.  -You don’t up and move to a town in the middle of nowhere if you’re not at least somewhat accustomed to living on your own- this translates into giving him more freedom and responsibilities
Logan is remembering what hell shenanigans he, Owen, and Justice pulled in their teenage years and beginning to Mildly Panic.  However, the builder reminds him that they’ve raised Andy to have a bit more responsibility than Logan did in his childhood
