Part 2: Errors in the Design
The next time they meet Steven, and by extension, Marc, sees Y/N studying the gift shop’s poster display for the Ennead exhibit. Her expression is filled with concentration as she studies the statues of the poster on display.
“I told Donna that they missed a couple,” Steven says. The woman before him startles slightly, her head snaps up as he speaks. “Sorry, didn’t mean to startle you.”
“Smooth,” Marc chides from his reflection on the display. “Why not just give the poor gal a heart attack?” Steven ignores him.
She smiles and shakes her head. “No worries,” she assures him. “And yes, I see that. I’m sure they think no one will care.”
“But you do,” Steven counters. “And I do. People come to a museum to learn about history, and they can’t even represent it right.”
“True, but what are a mere docent and a gift shoppist to do?” She sighs and leans against the counter. “I am quite sure a number of supervisors signed off on this, without even the slightest clue what was missing. Or that these statues look ancient, sure, but are they really all that eye-catching? The Middle Kingdom alone was filled with beautiful carvings and vibrant colors like you wouldn’t believe,” she tells him. “Colors that may have lost their vibrancy with time, harsh sands, and the unrelenting desert sun, but they didn’t all fade. And they were all-natural, authentic, and made painstakingly by hand.” She looked closely at the central figure of the top statues. “Oh but you would love this, wouldn’t you, old man,” she mumbled as she studied Osiris’ statue. “You were the end all, be all.” She shook her head. “But you’d be nothing without my feather, you old mummy.”
“You really are passionate about all this,” Steven says gesturing to the poster, and other nearby items.
His voice snapped her out of her reverie. She nods. “It's a bit foolish to put so much time and effort into something that has been gone for ages,” she admits. Ajak would probably scold her for speaking of their time alongside the god of the dead so openly with a human. Y/N hoped Steven would attribute her heated take on it all as just part of years of enthusiastic study. 7,000 years, and it was still so easy to forget that people didn't know she had been there. People can’t know. Ajak, and probably Osiris himself, would shake their head at her. Or trap her in her own statue. He could try, taming an Eternal was something even Osiris never tried.
“If it’s foolish, then I happily consider myself a fool,” Steven says, earning a smile from her.
“I guess we are just a pair of fools longing for a time lost to the sands,” she says with such longing it made even Steven feel homesick for a moment. He could tell she put her heart and soul into everything she did.
“You miss it, don’t you?” He asks as he leans against the counter.
“More than you can know,” she states but smiles at him. “I miss them but being here helps. A little piece of home. And I have my friends, though they’re more like a family than just friends.” She takes a moment to study him. “I think you’d like them, Sprite tells stories that can capture the imaginations of everyone around. And Sersi, oh she’ll love you. A passion for times long gone, yeah, you’ll get along great.”
“They sound lovely,” Steven admits.
“They are,” she nods, but her phone goes off notifying her of her next tour group. “Well, duty calls.”
A few days later Steven is just leaving after a long shift of Donna micromanaging when he hears his name being called. He looks up to see Y/N on the steps of the museum with some people. Despite his exhaustion he smiles.
“Steven!” She waves him over. “I’m glad I caught you. Come meet my friends.”
“Oh, okay,” he says as he joins hers.
“Steven, this is Sersi and Sprite,” she gestures to the two women with her, “Ladies, this is Steven.”
“The guy from the gift shop?” Sprite asks, a mischievous look forming on her face. “The one you-”
“Lovely to meet you, Steven,” Sersi loudly cuts off Sprite. “Y/N always loves showing off the little souvenirs you find her.”
“Oh well, she-” Steven starts, seeming flustered.
“Look Dane’s here,” Y/N says quickly to save everyone from this embarrassing conversation. Dane greets Sersi sweetly before Y/N introduce her friend.
“Why don’t you join us for dinner, Steven,” Sersi offers. “Pub’s only a few blocks away.”
“He just finished a long shift, you guys can’t just-” Y/N start.
“Say yes, or I will,” Marc threatened from the reflection of a watch.
“That sounds lovely,” Steven agrees. As the small group heads towards the pub, a strong breeze kicks up and Y/N stops for a second and looks back. She does a double-take when she thought she saw a figure on a roof, but it was gone when she looked back. Something about it felt oddly familiar.
“Hurry up, Y/N!” Sprite says as she grabs her arm.
“You alright, Y/N/N?” Sersi asks as Sprite drags her closer, but Y/N keeps looking back.
Y/N turns around to see them looking back at her. “I…yeah.” She brushes it off. “Guess that last school group tour took more out of me than I thought.”
“Do you need to go home and rest?” Steven asks. She smiles at his concern.
“No, I’m fine,” she assures him.
“You’re sure?” He asks again.
“Yes, I promise, I’m fine, really.” She nods and begins walking again. “Yes, let’s go.”

A/N: HAPPY 1-YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO MOON KNIGHT!!! Gods, I can't believe it's already been a year...where's our season 2 announcement?!
~Previously~
Diana was woken up by rapid knocks on her door. She got up from her bed, grabbed her glasses, put them on her face, and made her way across the threshold of her flat to get to the door, moving albeit sluggishly to said door. When she unlocked and opened the door, she feigned surprise at seeing Steven on the other side.
"Steven? What's wrong? Are you okay?" she asks him in concern.
Steven stares at her for a moment, taking her in.
"I...y-you...I...uh...saw you in this dream I had," he tells her.
She tilts her head, "Oh? What happened in your dream?"
She opens her door a bit wider to let Steven inside. He hesitates for a moment before stepping into her flat. She closes her door behind him and then turns around to look at the brunet. He held his hands close to his chest as he looked around her flat before meeting her gaze through her glasses.
"Um...well...I woke up i-in an unfamiliar place and in pain...then I was getting shot at so I ran...I tried to blend in, in this village...I remember seeing your face in the crowd and then...there was this man, Harrow I think he called himself...and he seemed to be judging people?...this elderly woman died...and then Harrow seemed to recognize me...he called me a mercenary which I quickly objected to...then he asked for this..."
"Stop."
Steven had been wringing his hands together as he recalled his strange dream when an unseen voice spoke up, making him pause in his recollection. Diana tilted her head to the right just a little at his sudden lull, looking at him in curiosity.
"Steven? What did this Harrow man ask you for?"
The brunet's tongue poked out from between his pink lips to wet them before quickly disappearing back inside his mouth, an action that Diana had watched subconsciously.
"Don't tell her anymore."
The unseen voice said a bit more firmly to Steven. So he hesitated for a moment and recollected his thoughts.
"I-I...I don't remember. You uh...you know what they say about dreams. The longer you're awake...the faster the dream slips away." he tells her.
Diana stares at him for a minute, not believing him for a moment but, she wasn't going to let him know that. If he believed what happened was a dream, then she would go along with it.
"Yeah, that's what they say, isn't it? And I totally get it, sometimes I try to recall dreams only for them to fade away before I can remember all the details," she says.
Her gaze trails over his body, checking for any outward injuries as it hadn't been easy for her to keep up with him during the car chase.
"But you're okay though, right? It didn't become a nightmare?" she asks in concern.
"Yeah, yeah. Woke up 'fore anythin could happen." he assures her.
"That's good, I'm glad. Nightmares are the absolute worst," she mentions.
"Yeah, they absolutely are." he agrees.
Steven starts to fiddle with his thumbs now, as silence has fallen over the both of them and he had no idea why the mystery voice didn't want him to tell his dear friend about what had happened.
"W-well...I think that...I should head back to m-my flat. Things to do." he says after a lapse.
"If you want. I don't mind if you stay, we could hang out if you want to."
"I've gotta feed Gus and since it's my day off...there's a historical show that I don't want to miss."
The dirty blonde nods in understanding and opens her door again to let Steven out, bidding him farewell as he went across the hall. He returned the goodbye and then entered his flat. She closed her door and pressed her forehead against the wood, sighing.
~~~~~~~~
Diana had decided to take a walk later that evening. She had changed her clothes, now wearing a soft gray dress and her black ankle booties. She had been walking down the street for a while before deciding to come to a standstill, basking in the moonlight and the way it felt on her skin, eyes closed as she took in the feeling.
She then feels a gush of wind blow past her, causing her to open her eyes and look around. She also felt that familiar presence once more. As she looked around for whatever the presence was, her blue-green eyes caught a recognizable figure across the street.
It was none other than Steven Grant, sitting alone at a steakhouse. It was then that she remembered why he was there but also what day it was. He had shown up late to the date he was supposed to have and yet, it looked like he was planning on sticking around.
She could see the dejected look on his face, the sad looks he was getting from surrounding patrons, and felt her heart clench in her chest. So, the dirty blonde did the only thing she could think of. She brushed invisible dust off her top before making her way across the street.
"Duckie!" she inwardly cringes at the old-timey nickname that came out of her mouth as she approached Steven.
"I'm so sorry for being late, traffic was god awful...an absolute nightmare. Eventually, I just decided to walk the rest of the way." she apologized.
Steven looked at her with wide eyes, taking in her appearance, and couldn't quite believe she was real for a moment before he snapped out of it and swiftly stood up from his seat.
"No worries darling, I'm just glad you were able to make it." he rounds the table to pull the chair out for her.
She gives him a soft smile before taking a seat and letting Steven push her in. Then he returns to his own chair and pulls up to the table. He then looks at her once more, still trying to wrap his mind around the fact that she's here right now.
"I'm so sorry, Steven. The last couple of days, I got busy and stuck in my head...I forgot to tell you that today was Sunday." she says softly.
He shakes his head slightly, "I'm still so lost...it was Thursday last I remember and suddenly it's Sunday. And Dylan told me to lose her number..."
Diana reaches across the table and laid her hand on top of his.
"Well, don't worry about it...she didn't deserve you anyway. You can do a lot better than her."
She internally cringed once again. Was she really about to do this? After a few weeks of friendship, was she really about to jeopardize that? Ever since that tour, he'd given her due to her recommendation...she had quickly developed feelings for the brunet and it was new to her. Even after being on Earth for seven thousand years, she's never felt the feelings that Steven gave her before.
Steven tilted his head as he looked at her, wondering where her mind was at. Before he could ask what she meant, the waiter came by with the steak he had ordered after getting off the phone with Dylan. Diana grabbed the man's wrist before he could set the plate down though.
"Sorry sir, but we can't have this steak."
"Diana, it's alright," Steven interjected, not wanting to waste the waiter's time anymore.
She looks at him for a moment before letting go of the waiter's wrist. He sets the plate down on the table and was about to walk away.
"Can you bring us a salad too? Thanks," she calls after him.
"You didn't have to do that. I would've been fine with the steak." Steven tells her.
"Steven, you're vegan. I'm not about to let you eat something that goes against that," she stated.
The brunet gives her a small smile, touched by her looking out for him. He was glad to have a friend like her, even if it took him a bit to get used to her outwardly signs of affection. Which reminded him...
"What did you mean, earlier? When you said that I could do better than Dylan." he wonders.
The dirty blonde paused in her movements, having taken to cutting up the steak when he asked his inquiry.
"Um...just that...well...ya know...uhh..." she trails off, not quite wanting to really put the words out there.
Seven thousand years of existence and she wasn't prepared for this moment. She's battled Deviants for a few centuries, watched her best friend walk away from her, and tried to help as her good friend had imprisoned an entire small town to make herself the perfect life, and yet admitting that she had feelings frightened her.
"Diana?" Steven calls her name gently to regain her attention.
Blue-green eyes met his dark brown ones and she takes a deep breath before slowly letting it out.
"I'm sorry...this isn't easy for me to admit aloud." she apologizes.
He gives her a soft smile, "It's okay, you take your time."
She takes a moment to think her words over before saying them aloud.
"F-for a while now...uh...well, more like since you eagerly gave me a tour...I um..." she takes a pause for breath, "I might've...started to um...I may have uh...shoot this is a lot harder than I thought...hang on I can do this...I may have startedtohavefeelingsforyouromanticfeelingsthatis" she confessed it all in one breath.
Steven had given his undivided attention to Diana, waiting for her to speak her mind and then he had to process what she had said in the end. His dark brown eyes went wide once it processed.
"Y-you...uh...r-really? M-me? Are...are you sure? B-because why would you...I mean...you could do so much better than me." he tells her, his insecurities making themselves known.
Diana set her fork down and reached out to hold Steven's hand, "What are you talking about? There is nobody better than you, Steven. You're sweet, intelligent, caring and not to mention handsome. I honestly believe that there isn't a guy out there who is better than you. Besides, even if there was it wouldn't matter to me because I'm choosing you." she confesses with conviction.
Steven stared at her in awe as her confession rolled off her tongue with ease, his cheeks turning a bright pink at her words. Subconsciously, he squeezed her hand a bit tighter. He thought over his words carefully before replying to her confession.
"I...I feel the same way. I just...are you sure that I'm the one you want?" he asks in uncertainty.
"Yes, absolutely. No matter what, always and forever," she says with complete certainty.
The waiter finally returned with the salad and set it down in front of Steven before walking away.
"Okay, now that your food is also here and we've gotten confessions out of the way. Let's eat." Diana tells him.
He nods in agreement and the two of them enjoy dinner together. They made small talk about Egyptian lore as they ate, smiling and laughing with one another. Once they finished eating, the pair argued over paying the bill.
"I should be the one to pay the bill. I'm the one who ordered the steak in the first place." Steven tells her.
"So? I added the salad." Diana argued.
"Please, let me pay for this?" Steven requested.
She sighs, "Okay, okay. Fine, you can pay for this dinner. But I'm paying for the next date."
He smiles and pays the bill then the pair get up from the table and go for a walk instead of heading straight back to their flats. They continued on with their conversation from dinner as they walked under the moonlight, now talking about anything and everything.
Diana listened intently as Steven rambled on, smiling softly as she watched him talk so eagerly, hands waving around as he spoke. Eventually, the duo made their way back to the building of their flats, riding up in the lift together and heading towards their respective flats.
"Oh Gods, I...I meant to give these to you when you joined me at the table." Steven holds the box of chocolates and bouquet of flowers out to Diana.
The Lunar Eternal giggles slightly before taking the gifts from his outstretched hands.
"Thank you very kindly."
He smiles softly at her, looking at her in adoration.
"Will I see you tomorrow?" he asks.
"Of course, silly. We still have work." she smiles.
"Right, you're right. See you tomorrow then," he says.
"Absolutely, I'll make you breakfast. Try and get some sleep, Steven," she tells him.
He gives her a nod and turns to unlock his door but before he could head inside Diana stepped up and gave him a peck on the cheek, watching his cheeks immediately turn pink.
"Goodnight, Duckie~" she smirks at his flushed face before taking a step back from Steven and enters her flat.
Once recovering from Diana's sudden affection, Steven stepped into his own flat and closed the door behind him, applying his strip of blue tape to the door before going about doing the rest of his routine for the night.
~~~~~~~~
When Diana went across the hall the next morning to wake Steven up and invite him over for breakfast, there was no answer. She thought it was a little odd since she had mentioned that she was going to be making breakfast for him but, thought nothing more of it.
She got ready for work and knocked on Steven's door once more but still got no answer. It was then that she had a feeling about what was going on. Being as old as she was, she was very observant...noticing the tiniest of details in a person or in her surroundings. It's how she and the others managed to survive for so long, that and taking care of the Deviants once and for all.
When she had been following after Steven and she noticed the slight difference in him, she did some research. Steven's alter must be in charge and he doesn't even know it.
She made her way to work but when she got there, she could feel a dark presence inside the building from the stairs out front. The dirty blonde quickly made her way inside and instantly began searching for Steven, having a gut feeling that he was in trouble.
She found Steven in the Egyptian wing of the museum, being questioned by Arthur Harrow. She hid behind a display, not wanting to be seen by him or his followers yet, listening in on the conversation to pinpoint the exact moment to get Steven to safety.
"There's chaos in you," Harrow tells Steven.
"There's what?" Steven asked in confusion.
A door opened up behind Steven and Diana took the opportunity to come out from hiding and grab Steven's arm, quickly pulling him along while also keeping her head down so Harrow couldn't recognize her. When she felt like they were a safe distance away from Harrow and his followers, she let go of Steven and turned to face him.
"Are you alright?" she asks in concern, worried about him.
"Y-yeah, think so. Thanks for savin me," he tells her.
"Of course, that man seemed really scary," she comments.
"You have no idea." he mutters.
He looks around one more time before coming to a realization, "Oh bollocks, I'm supposed to be doing inventory."
"No worries, I'll help you out. And I won't be taking "no" for an answer. I offered so I'm following through with it." she states.
He sighs, "Okay, alright. I won't argue with you."
"Good, because you wouldn't have won it anyways." She smirks.
She then takes his hand into hers, "To the stockroom, we go! Allons-y!"
He can't help but smile at her upbeat mood even though they were just going to be logging in inventory. He follows behind her as she leads him by his hand towards the stockroom of the museum.
Once they reached the doors to the stockroom, Steven lets go of her hand to pull a set of keys out of his pocket and went through the key ring in search of the right key. When he finds it, he inserts it into the keyhole and unlocks the door to the stockroom. The brunet holds it open for his companion and the dirty blonde gives him a smile before entering the room, he enters in after her.
"Alright, hopefully with the two of us working through this...we'll be able to get at least partially through some of this stock," Diana says, trying to be optimistic about their situation.
"I think we can do it. Let's get started." Steven says in return.
The two get to work, Steven goes behind the counter to man the scanner while Diana brings a couple of boxes over to start off with. But she decides to set the boxes in front of the counter where he can't reach them and hops up onto the counter, moving around til she was sitting sideways so she could see Steven and crossing her legs so she was sitting criss-cross apple sauce, before she leans over to grab a few items then set them on the counter in front of her so Steven could scan them.
The pair worked in the stockroom until closing. The lights shutting off indicating that it was closing time. Diana hops down from the counter as Steven rounds said counter. They began to make their way out of the museum when they heard a strange sound coming from the room behind them, it almost sounded like a wounded animal.
"Oh, bloody hell," Steven mutters.
The janitor that was mopping the floor doesn't seem to notice the sound though. Steven and Diana share a look with one another before looking in the direction that they heard the noise come from, eventually deciding to head that way.
"Hello? Donna?" Steven called out.
Diana trailed behind Steven, now on guard for anything lurking in the darkness. The wounded animal sound changed into the sound of a dog howling.
"J.B?" Steven tries.
"Pets allowed in the museum?" Diana questioned.
Steven shrugged. The new, unofficial couple continue slinking through the darkness of the closed museum, looking for the dog in question.
"Here, boy," Steven calls before whistling.
The dog seems to stop making noises as he calls out for it, which the duo notes.
"Hello? Where are you, you little bugger?" Steven wonders aloud.
He turns towards a glass display, looking at his duplicated reflection before continuing on. But, Diana lingers behind for a couple of moments and notices that the two reflections don't move on.
She suddenly heard a loud growl from behind her and she turned her head, yet she couldn't see anything. That made her hurry to catch up with Steven, wanting to protect him from the unseen threat that was lurking around.
"Here, boy," Steven calls out again before whistling once more.
"Steven, we should just go. The dog might've found another way out." Diana tells him.
"There ain't no way. It would've had to pass us to get out." Steven says.
"Steven...I don't like this. We should go." she fakes being scared, hoping it'll make him want to leave.
Steven stops walking and turns around to look at her, taking in her frightened expression.
"It's alright, luv. We'll find the little bugger and then leave," he assures her.
He turns again and starts walking once more. She groans softly in annoyance before following him. The duo turned a corner and then they hear a monstrous growling sound.
Steven immediately started to back away slowly and Diana let him move behind her, moving into a protective stance. He ducked down behind a display case, pulling her down with him. She laid down in front of him, back against his chest with his arms wrapped around her chest, when the intercom speaker chimed overhead.
"Steven Grant of the gift shop. Give me the scarab and you won't be torn apart." Arthur Harrow's voice came over the intercom.
The growling seemed louder and then Steven seemed to have an idea. He unwrapped his arms from around Diana's torso before grabbing ahold of his bag and tosses it aside as a distraction. Something seems to jump out of the shadows but, Diana couldn't see the monstrous creature.
Steven nudged her to get up before motioning for her to follow him and they crept along the darkness, trying to stay out of sight of whatever was lurking around. He accidentally backs into a display and nearly knocked over a vase but, was quick to catch it.
"Run!" Steven says after a brief moment of silence.
He grabs Diana's hand and pulls her behind him as he starts running. Even though she can't see whatever was chasing after them, she could definitely hear it jumping onto the walls as it hunted them. They run throughout the museum, trying to get to safety.
The monstrous beast seems to land on Steven and Diana quickly shoves at the invisible thing in hopes of pushing it off of him before picking him up and pulling him along this time. She keeps a level head as he screams in fright, left arm bent up close to his chest as it had been mildly injured.
The pair run down a corridor and Diana pulls down a shelf just as the creature burst through the doors. Steven attempts to open a door but, of course he has to scan his employee card which takes too long in a moment of flight. He finally managed to get a door open and quickly grabbed Diana's arm to pull her in with him.
Steven quickly shut the door of the bathroom behind her then slowly backed away from said door as the creature attempted to get in. She stood in front of him as she stared at the door.
"We are to not interfere in human conflicts unless Deviants are involved."
Of course this would be the moment when Ajak's words would ring in Diana's mind, reminding her that the Eternals were forbidden from impeding in human conflicts. Her hands clenched by her sides preparing for a fight even though she knew she shouldn't fight this battle nor could she see the offending beast.
"No, what...Control of what? What are you talking about?" she hears Steven ask.
She looks over her shoulder to see him talking to his reflection. Steven suddenly spins around, attention focused on the door and not Diana looking at him.
"Damn it! No! No! No!" Steven says, slapping himself in the face before turning to the mirror again. "You're not real. None of this is real."
He looks back at the door, now with dents in it, fear evident in his dark brown eyes.
"Oh, God. I'm gonna die. I'm gonna die, I'm gonna die." he mutters to himself.
"Hey," Diana calls out, making Steven turn from the mirror and to her.
"You're not going to die." she says, unbeknownst to her, at the same time as the man in the mirror.
Steven looks back at the mirror on his left and stares in to it. Diana looks over as well, but all she can see is himself reflecting back to him. She watches as he turns his head away from the mirror and seems to be thinking things over before he was slowly nodding his head.
Her blue-green eyes widened in alarm when Steven started to seize, eyes rolling back into his head. The bathroom door came crashing down in that exact moment, causing the dirty blonde to spin around and try to discern where the creature was.
Unfortunately, before she could...she was smacked aside, back slamming into a sink then crumpling to the ground. She then watches as Steven's body becomes enveloped in a white wraps until it becomes a suit with a hood, cape and a crescent moon on the chest.
The Lunar Eternal watches the fight that occurs in the bathroom, although it looks one sided to her. Staring at the white outfit, the familiarity finally clicked within her and she finally understood what the familiar presence was. The creature was pummeled into the ground and defeated, "Steven" turned around and went to walk out without Diana until she spoke aloud.
"Of course, it all makes sense now."
The masked vigilante turned around and looked at her, solid white eyes gazing down at her before he picked her up off the floor and took her with him, throwing her over his shoulder.

Because my brain has been so fired up lately after I finished my first book draft(Yes I'm writing a book probs talk abt it later), I have so many headcanons written down for Iolia in general/the character crossover city. So, here are some of them, and if you don't know what I'm talking about just click here or view them without context lol. Enjoy!
Ocean[RTC] tries to get involved with anything in the city. And I mean EVERYTHING, especially seats of power
The RLS(real life show) people would probably stick close together cause y’know, you don’t see sentient objects, talking cookies, or GEM PEOPLE everyday.
Also the MK and Eternals casts would likely stay close due to being in the MCU together & everything(The Eternals also probably recognize the Egyptian Gods as well)
The Zetsubou Vacation cast would either A) be extremely confused abt this predicament and thankful they can’t die here or the more likely scenario B) they’re 100% done with this bullshit and just wanna rest.
Tsukasa, Lance, Sokka, and Mista go out for coffee chats every Thursday to catch up on what each of them has been doing
Five Hargreeves occasionally hangs out with Scorpion to try and escape his family for at least a little bit
Until Klaus comes barging in and starts chatting it up with Toby
Pidge and Fugo’s games of UNO or any card game really are HEATED
Usually ends in Fugo raging out while Pidge cackles like a maniac
Angie Yonaga, Noriaki Kakyoin, and Ena Shinonome hold group painting sessions and love to gossip about their friends during them
Rohan was originally a member of this but hasn’t been able to make it due to the toxic shit he spewed every time they met
Akito got introduced to Ocean via. Mischa and lets just say the Volatile Ginger Energy emanating from the two of them was too much for the Museum to handle(Techno kicked them out)

After the climactic release of the historically successful Avengers: Endgame – the 22nd film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the penultimate release in their “Infinity Saga”, the culmination of 11 years of brand-building, the second-highest-grossing film of all time – Marvel decided what the world really needed was more Marvel.
Armed with classic Hollywood hubris – the misguided conviction that the public would never tire of what they were selling – Marvel Studios rolled television production into their main business model, with “Phase Four” delivering more television shows than movies. The effect was a flooding of the market and a dilution of the brand, not to mention the release of the worst MCU movie, Eternals.
Forcing narrative crossovers between television shows and movies had the adverse effect of turning the former into homework and the latter into ads for the former. This practice was an act of artistic self-sabotage, ruining what could’ve been Marvel’s most sublime film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, by burdening it with a host of tonally-off, studio-obligated B-stories crowbarred in to promote upcoming television titles.
After a run of disappointing films that weighed down once-fun franchises with po-faced gravity – Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – and a slew of ordinary television shows – The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Moon Knight, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Secret Invasion – we’ve officially reached a state of Marvel fatigue, with questions looming around the state of the superhero industrial complex.
It’s in this cultural moment that Loki, the acclaimed solo show for the titular character, arrives for a second season. It doesn’t just have to live up to an inspired first season but also has to push back on all the bad vibes, a difficult task given the heavy presence of Jonathan Majors, the breakout star who was arrested in March on domestic violence charges.The great charm of this season is that it cultivates the feeling that it could head anywhere and be anything. Loki doesn’t just explore free will as a theme, it actually feels as if it artistically possesses it.
The good news is that, whether or not it can be spun as state-of-Marvel narrative correction, season two is a worthy successor. Blessed by the fact its titular character, Tom Hiddleston’s charismatic God of Mischief, remains a slippery figure, Loki is allowed to move forward with no clear lines drawn between good and bad, protagonist and antagonist, hero and villain. Characters hold convictions until they don’t, make choices that will have ramifications, agitate for themselves, then for the greater good, and try to navigate a world whose rules shift beneath their feet.
It’s largely set, once again, in the Time Variance Authority, a comic bureaucratic labyrinth charged with policing multiversal time lines. Offering obvious symbolism at a time when Marvel is struggling to retain coherence in the midst of its “Multiverse Saga”, the TVA prizes the one true “Sacred Timeline”, pruning infinite possibilities back for the sake of cosmic narrative purity.
The TVA is an inspired retrofuturist space steeped in Eastern Bloc mid-century design and early Terry Gilliam films, satirising the pernickety dictums of workplaces and government offices – “limit your lunch break to 17 minutes!” proclaims one poster. From its dated tech – ’70s-style computer monitors, reel-to-reel tape machines, chrome hi-fis – to its curved surfaces, coloured floor tiles and lurid-emerald key lime pie, it’s a rare work of inspired production design by a studio otherwise synonymous with green-screening its way to rush-job eyesores built by an army of non-unionised offshore digital effects artists.
Everything in the TVA looks shabby and neglected, evoking its place as an office lost to time. The plot machinations of season one found an Avengers-adjacent Loki commandeered by the authority – Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson), upper-management Ravonna Renslayer (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) and others – to pursue a variant of himself, Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino), through time and space.
It ended with an explosion of multiversal time lines and revelations about the true history of the TVA: its top-down system of authority a matrix of illusion, its mind-wiped employees existing in a state of suspended limbo, its time line-culling operation seeming a lot like a morally questionable act of mass slaughter.
In the fallout from that climax, season two finds characters questioning whether the TVA is an entity worth preserving or destroying, not to mention the meaning of their own existence and the ramifications of choice. It’s a study of free will and moral responsibility, housed in 45-minute episodes of action-oriented television. Its chief writer, Eric Martin, both lionises liberty and weighs up its gravity, while happily dealing in the all-American fear of governmental oversight.
The collapse of the TVA’s artificial reality – “everything you’ve been doing is wrong and all your gods are dead”, Mobius deadpans in classic Wilson fashion – leads characters to their own convictions. Mobius seeks peaceful resolution. Renslayer seeks to preserve her power and the authority’s agency (“all that matters is order versus chaos”). The once-bellicose B-15 (Wunmi Mosaku) has a moral reawakening. The dogged Dox (Kate Dickie) is more committed than ever to the cause. The weaselly X-5 (Rafael Casal) wants to explore his new-found independence and maybe become a movie star. The oddball tech guy with the on-the-nose name, Ouroboros (Ke Huy Quan), is there to both provide comic relief and to save the day from a temporal calamity that may destroy all worlds, or something to that effect.
Loki’s playful riffing on time means every benign use of the word pops – “it’ll take some time”, “remember that time”, “take your time”, “time to go” – and its first four episodes dance along the Earth’s time line at various points of history – 1868, 1893, 1977, 1982 – with plentiful hijinks, dabbling in genre tropes, meta use of Loki’s skills of illusion and misdirection, and creepy fast-food-franchise sponsored content.
Looming over all is the presence of the big bad of Marvel’s Phase Five, Kang the Conqueror, played still, to this point, by Majors. He’s seen here in two variants: a squirrelly 19th-century nutty professor named Victor Timely and the all-powerful end-of-time figure met at the end of last season, He Who Remains. These twin characters are connected but separate enough that they symbolise the series’ focus on free will. One may be fated to become the other, but does that mean that he – and the future – can’t change?
The great charm of this season is that it cultivates the feeling that it could head anywhere and be anything. Loki doesn’t just explore free will as a theme, it actually feels as if it artistically possesses it. While it may not be enough to combat the waning influence of comic-book screen output, this season does feel like a disarming counterpoint to recent Marvel Studios product. Rather than feeling conscripted or forced, a puzzle piece that exists solely to build a bridge between branded content, Loki remains its own thing: a nimble exploration of big themes in a colourful, comic, oddball package.

20 questions for fic writers
I was tagged by @majorbaby :3c
Tagging @dustbunny105 @lyledebeast @tirednecromancer @optimisticfruitcup @itwoodbeprefect @lukestarkillerisgay and anyone else who wants to try it out
How many works do you have on AO3?: 51
What's your total AO3 word count?: 318,236
What fandoms do you write for?: MASH, X-Men, Transformers, and Star Wars primarily, with a few other fandoms mixed in as the spirit moved me :3
What are your top five fics by kudos?: Matched Set (DBH), Turn, Turn (Sandman/Old Guard), Better Than I Know Myself (Moon Knight), Resolute (Star Wars), Expedient Means (DBH)
Do you respond to comments? Honestly not usually. It just wasn't much of a thing in the corners of fandom I came up in, so I never formed the habit or expectation. I do appreciate all comments and periodically try and go through and respond, especially to very nice ones!!
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Come and See (Hannibal) ends with murder/suicide...
What is the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Genuinely don't know. I feel like a lot of my fics have tonally similar endings, where they're happyish or hopeful, but there's an element of uncertainty of bittersweetness...
Do you get hate on fics? No.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Ahaha... Yee. Pretty much exclusively gay or robot sex. This year I descended fully into The Id Vortex which was genuinely a psyche changing experience in a positive ways highly recommend.
Do you write crossovers? I had forgotten the Sandman/Old Guard fic was a crossover until I looked up my fics by kudos XD
Have you ever had a fic stolen? No
Have you ever had a fic translated? No
Have you ever cowritten a fic before? No
What's your all time favorite ship? TrapHawk was a primordial OTP that has fully taken over my brain kdjdjd...
What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will? Only You Can Find Me or as I call it X-Men Band AU... I fully have like 4 acts outlined, and very elaborate backstories for all the characters in the AU, but it took a lot of research into really weird stuff to actually write, and it just got to be overwhelming, and I kind of lost confidence/momentum in it...
What are your writing strengths? I don't know how to describe it. I think I'm pretty solid? And I have read enough I know what annoys me and I don't do those things XD I think I generally do a good job of keeping things in character and clearly motivated, I think I do a good job setting and maintaining a tone, and I try to be pretty intentional with the scenes I write. I also am pretty fast once I get going.
What are your writing weaknesses? I have a bad habit of "listing" (and this happened and this happened and this happened), and I think I don't elide as much as I could. I also worry about being too introspective or self-indulgent, and I think I have a pretty specific writing style and I always worry my narrators sound too similar. I also do 90% of my writing on my phone so I'm locked in eternal battle with typos and autocorrect correcting the wrong thing.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? I indulge in this sometimes- was having a little too much fun with the sci-fi conlangs in Star Wars fic lol. I've done it a few times in other fandoms for color, but I try and make sure that what's being said is clear in context or translated afterwards.
First fandom you wrote for? Agh, like Digimon fanfic in 2001 or something crazy XD
Favorite fic you've written? Genuinely struggled to pick one, but I think Making the Most of It was both really fun to write, really fun to read, and I am proud of how it turned out- it accomplished what I set out to write and then some...

Apparently they put a Moon Knight reference in Loki, and people are trying to figure out the implications*
Meanwhile I'm out here wildly swinging a bat around, trying to keep the MCU canon away. Part of what made MK so enjoyable, in my opinion, was that you didn't need to know jack fucking shit about literally any other property to know the whole story of MK. I don't want to have to watch fucking 3 separate movies and Loki and I don't know She Hulk and some kind of Eternals/Miss Marvel crossover TV show. I only want to watch MK. If they make a MK season 2 and it requires hours of homework to watch in order to understand the whole sotry I'm gonna fuckung cry
*This is in no way a statement against people who find enjoyment in the interconnectedness of MCU canon. This is me saying I personally don't enjoy it and want the thing I like to stay it's own singular existence.

MCU Theme Song Ramble
Quick ramble about Marvel theme songs and the psychology of theme songs in film in general aaaaa
Character Themes
MAN I LOVE THE MOON KNIGHT THEME SO MUCH I’M LOSING IT AAAAAAAA
that one and the Ant-Man theme make me miss band 😭
Ant-Man theme with the piano vs forte sections is so smart since he shrinks, which is a classic example of exemplifying a character’s traits in their music
then the unique musical scale with the Moon Knight theme as well!! Love that they hired an Egyptian composer
((not entirely related but I know that Indian classical music has its own musical scales so I’m wondering if there’s a similar concept in traditional Egyptian music))
Themes in Crossovers // Motifs
Someone commented about how excited they are to hear the Moon Knight theme in a film or smth and honestly same
ashkdisifisid I'm so excited to see new smaller crossovers or smth
Like not whole Endgame team up again, but smaller team ups since that gives more screen time to individual characters (and thus more time for their themes)
just hearing theme songs to introduce characters is so good 😭😭
Like, the best feeling is watching a crossover film and getting a surprise appearence (or expected character showing up suddenly) which is revealed moments before they’re seen via a theme song
because then your brain can recognize it (if you’ve heard the theme before) even without you realizing
so you can have that moment of “huh…I know this from somewhere…where do I know it from?” OR “OH IT’S THEM!!! IT’S THEM THEY’RE HERE!!!!!” The psychology behind it !!!!!
Also I’m sad because I’m wondering if they’ll ever use the original Avenger’s theme again or if that era has passed :’)) if they do it won’t be for a while huh
Unless I’m forgetting something it’s been used in recently lol
Helping Tell the Story
I'm such a nerd ugh just having theme songs to represents parts of a story is so Big Brain!!
In Eternals they said in the behind the scenes that they used themes for each time period instead of individual characters
(which makes sense since it’s an ensemble/a lot of new characters; it would be both overwhelming to hear and difficult to make that many)
and it's so SMART because then you can more easily tell what time period it is based on the music
which is important in that film since they do jumps without explicitly mentioning them
More Psychology
I just find it so fascinating since our sense of hearing impacts our enjoyment, even in media where the main focus is the visual aspect
Like there’s so much that goes into that specific topic, but theme songs that have previously established emotions are so cool
Going back to the theme recognition I mentioned in the “Crossover” section:
this type of music recognition is so interesting to me since motifs (the musical term) are often repurposed in slightly different ways in different themes or OSTs which can give subtle hints to a character as well
so even a few notes played a certain way can trigger that recognition and excitement!!
Winter Soldier Theme
OHH my gosh edit I completely forgot until I saw in a YouTube comment that the Winter Soldier theme is a PERFECT example to use for this topic!!
Not only do they use callbacks in the different variations of the song, but it’s usage in the The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is in the bar scene
SPOILERS BTW
which is so IMPORTANT because it’s the first time since the removal of his brainwashing that Bucky’s had to fight as the actual Winter Soldier again and not himself, even if it was just an act
so it’s a really cool callback of sorts that also solidifies that he’s changed since it didn’t play in other scenes

Part 3: The Alter
Since the outing to the pub with Y/N’s friends, Steven had easily been accepted into the small group of pals. She had been right, he got along great with them. Which led to the pair spending more and more time together. Sprite would tease Y/N that they were practically a couple in all but name. Sersi would shush Sprite and tell her to be nice.
One night, Y/N says goodnight to the security team as she heads to meet Steven by the lobby doors. She smiles at him when she sees him, but she raises an eyebrow when she sees how nervous he looks.
“Are you alright?” She asks when she finally reaches him.
“Me? Yeah, I’m great,” Steven says.
She narrows her gaze at him. She can tell he’s lying by the beat of his heart. It wasn’t a malicious lie, so she didn’t push. “Okay.” She nods. “So I have to run home and feed Bas, then we can go to Dinner?” She wraps her arm around his hoping to calm whatever has him so on edge.
“Do not chicken out,” Marc said in the door's reflection. “The longer you drag this out the weirder it will be.”
“Yes,” he nods. “What about the dog?”
“Sprite took him out, she figured he needed some fun because I’m so very boring,” Y/N grins.
“You’re not boring,” Steven states.
“To Sprite everyone is, the dog is the only one that rivals her energy. The cat hates it.” She chuckles.
Sersi and Sprite are still out when she enters their home. She picks up Bas from where the cat had been brushing against Steven’s feet. “I’ll just be a minute,” Y/N says as she disappears into the kitchen.
“Do it now, so we don’t have to do it in public,” Marc says from the reflection on the coffee table.
“Are you crazy? That will ruin the evening,” Steven says in a harsh whisper at Marc’s image.
“We are crazy, look at us! You prefer to make a scene?” Marc counters.
“Fine, fine,” Steven relents. “We can do it now. Try not to scare her.”
“You sure you’re alright?” Y/N asks as she walks back into the living room. She’d heard his voice but he didn’t have his phone out.
“Yes, we’re fine,” Steven says.
“We? You got a mouse in your pocket?” She jokes.
“Not exactly,” Steven lets out a nervous laugh, “can we?” He gestures to the couch.
She narrows her gaze at him, to study his body language and focuses on his heartbeat. An old habit from the day of handing down judgments. No human can lie to her. They just can’t. It’s how the feather knows the truth. Arishem had seen to it. She shakes herself, takes a seat on the couch and waited for him to start talking.
“There is something I need to tell you,” Steven starts.
“You can tell me anything, you know that it wont leave this room,” she assures him.
 “I’m me, but I’m also not me,” Steven says.
“Okay?” She looks at him in confusion. “What does that mean? Are you going to tell me you have a wife and kids somewhere and like a double life?” It’s a joke but she doesn’t miss the way his heart rate spikes.
“Ex-wife, no kids, and even that is not entirely-” He starts. She holds up her hand and takes a centering breath.
“Hold on, are you or aren’t you Steven Grant?” She asks, really honing in using her powers.
“I am.”
He seems honest. So she nods.
“And I’m not, let me explain.”
“The weird thing is you’re not lying. I can tell you aren’t. So please yes, explain.”
"Have you ever heard of dissociative identity disorder?" he anxiously asks.
"Like...like multiple personalities?" She asks for clarification. She didn't know what she was expecting but that was absolutely not it. Humans still managed to surprise her after 7,000 years.
"Yes, exactly that," Steven seems to relax slightly. "I really like you, and your friends are great but we didn't think it was fair to go much farther and not tell you."
"So when you say we, you mean you and another you," she says gesturing at him. "Both in there, in you." It wasn't the craziest thing she had heard. She knew literal gods that took over minds and bodies. She had felt fractured and broken minds and hearts be judged through the ages. She had felt their pain in a way. Part of her missed having Druig and Phastos there to help her understand these things. The human heart was easy for her to understand, the rest of it was harder.
"Yes, that is what we mean." He smiles at the fact she was clearly trying to understand. They appreciated the effort.
"Okay," she nods.
"You don't have to be afraid," Steven assures her.
"Way to not be ominous," Marc says but his tone becomes less sarcastic as he adds, “Doing just great, man.”
"I'm not.” She could feel how genuine he was trying to be. He was trying to show her who he really was, or rather how they are. She chuckled to herself. “Have I met him? Them?"
"Marc? No."
"Marc, just the one?"
"Yes." She hears his heart rate change.
"That's a lie isn't it," she sighed, he had been doing so well. "I won't think any less of you. Just don't lie to me."
"How does she-" Marc starts but Steven ignores him.
"There is but he only ever comes out in absolute life or death and we know nothing about him."
"Okay, that sounds terrifying but okay."
"How are you so calm?" Steven asks her.
"Because you have not met the rest of my family. Pretty sure one of them is a klepto, and another is in a cult." She knew that was an understatement, Makkari was easily bored due to her speed and loved collecting things. She’s just had several millenia worth of precious things. And Druig ran a cult, but that was a detail for another time. "Don’t get me wrong, I still love them. They are my family, but Sersi and Sprite are the more normal ones. Phastos too, but he lives in the states."
"Wow okay, so you aren't scared? Or angry?"
"No, can I meet him?" Her curiosity starting to get the better of her. She loved that she could still be so surprised, especially by Steven, and well Marc too she supposes.
"Fine," Steven agrees. She watches as his whole being seems to shift. Her powers pick up on how his body language, his mind, and his heart feel different.
"And you're Marc?" She asks, only somewhat skeptical.
"That's me, and I know it's weird but-"
"Okay, nice to meet you, Marc. We are going to have a chat about that wife thing but," She stands up and straightens her jacket. "But I'm going to need a drink and we have dinner plans in like 10 minutes? Don't care which one of you it is, but I lost half my lunch break to a kid nearly destroying a priceless vase, so we can talk about that over food, yes?"
Marc glances down at his reflection and Steven is clearly in shock. Marc shrugs. "Dinner works for me."
"Do you really have an American accent?" She asks as they head out the door.
"Well I am American, so yeah."
"Of course you are," she chuckles.
"You're really not freaked out by this?" He asks as she locks the door.
"Trust me, Marc, you are far from the strangest person I have ever encountered. Fractured psyche aside, just wait until you meet Kingo. He is something. And he will ask you more questions than Sprite and talk your ear off. But he is busy in Bollywood and I haven't seen him in ages." Another understatement but she wasn't even sure if she would see Kingo in Marc and Steven's lifetime. Not outside of one of his films at least. No need to overload him, them. Still weird to think about, but she'd adjust and balance as always. It was her nature.
"Huh," was all Marc replied.
"You were expecting a different reaction?" She asks as they exit the building and start down the street.
"Honestly? Yeah. Layla didn't believe me, and she had already met and thoroughly confused Steven."
"Let me guess, your wife?"
"Uh, yeah."
"Smooth," Steven says from a window.
"So about that…" she starts to ask.
"Drinks first, I am going to need lots of drinks," Marc admits.
"You and I both, pal. You and I both." She laughs, looping his arm through his as she does with Steven.
The wind kicked up as they walked. Y/N could have sworn she saw a familiar silhouette crouched on a roof across the street but it was gone when she looked back. She squeezed Marc's arm tighter. If they noticed the figure or her actions, neither Marc nor Steven mention it.

Nach Mera Hero (Alfasl Alsaadis)
Tumblr media
A/N: I’m not very good at writing fight scenes yet...
~Previously~
This wasn't where she expected to end up...in Germany just outside the Austrian Alps. When Diana had decided to follow "Steven", noticing that slight difference to him, she didn't expect for him to travel to another country. She followed him from a distance, not wanting him to see her.
A fight occurred and "Steven" managed to hold his own for awhile until he ended up face first in the grass. As much as she wanted to step in and protect Steven...she couldn't bring herself to actually do it, remembering that she was forbidden to interfere in human conflicts that didn't involve Deviants.
Then Steven, there was that change again that told her it was really him once again, got back up and he seemed to be having a one-sided conversation with the air before he pulled something out of his pocket, staring down at his hand for a moment then suddenly spinning around to look up at the building behind him.
And then shooting started, so Steven ran to avoid being hit. Diana quickly followed after him, tailing him into the village below. She easily blends into the crowd of villagers that are out and about, still following Steven at a distance. The dirty blonde freezes immediately when Steven's head turns in her direction, he looks directly at her but doesn't seem to recognize her...then he shifts his gaze back around. She notices how a group of people seem to part ways to let one man traverse between them, some of them slightly bowing or reaching out to touch the man. Subconsciously, she followed the others in crowding before the man.
"What a beautiful day. It's like we're in Heaven. Only it's not Heaven, is it?" the man speaks to his audience.
He turns around then, "It's a darkness. Sometimes it hides in our very hearts. We are here to make the Earth as much like Heaven as possible. Who'd like to go first?" he asks.
A man from the crowd stepped up.
"You're a brave man. Offering your soul for judgment." the man who had been speaking, places the top of his cane in between the volunteer's hands. "Wanting to serve our goddess even before she wakes." The cane starts to swing like a pendulum. "I judge you in Ammit's name with but a fraction of her power."
Diana notices the tattoo on the speaker's right forearm, was that of a scale which began to move before turning green.
"This is the face, of a good man." the speaker announces before embracing the man.
The crowd makes a noise of awe before the man returns to his place and the speaker turns back towards the audience.
"Who would like to go next?" he asks.
An elderly woman speaks up this time, "Please, Harrow. I must know." she tells him.
"Call me Arthur," he tells her.
"Come," he stretches a hand out to her, "Will you accept your scales, regardless of the outcome?"
"Yes." the lady answers.
Harrow places his cane between the woman's hands and watches as it swings. His scale tattoo turns red this time.
"I'm sorry," he apologizes.
"I've been good my entire life," she pleads her case.
"I believe you," he tells her. "But the scales see everything. Perhaps it's something that lies ahead. Well...I wish you could live to see the world we make. Yet, Ammit has decided."
The elderly woman suddenly turns gray and falls backwards. Two men pick up her body and carry her away. A man with a gun approaches Harrow and speaks with him, Diana couldn't hear what was being said from where she stood. Harrow suddenly says something in Ancient Egyptian and the entire crowd kneels before him...except for one person.
"Oh, bollocks." Diana hears Steven curse to himself.
"You...I know you." Harrow says, looking directly at Steven.
"Me? Hi, uh..." Steven waves before standing up.
"Mercenary."
The crowd stand up and look at Steven at Harrow's comment.
"Mercenary? No, no. I'm not a mercenary. No, I'm a gift shop-ist. I work at a gift shop. My name's Steven Grant. Uh...I'm trying to get back home. Back to London. London. Don't know why I'm saying it like that."
Diana mentally face-palmed herself at Steven's rambling but remained where she was. Not wanting to be the center of attention.
"Well, Steven Grant of the gift shop."
"Yeah?"
"Will you return the scarab?" Harrow asks him.
"The...the what? Oh, all right. Yeah, the...oh, you mean..." Steven pulls the scarab out of his pocket.
Then things started to get interesting. Steven offered the scarab to Harrow only for him to close his fingers around the object. He wanted to hand over the object yet he seemed incapable of doing so. Diana followed him once more and watched as he managed to single handedly take out a small group of people, then defend himself while on the road and yet, she knew that it was the alter who was doing the fighting while Steven remained clueless about it all.

It genuinly bothers me that the only things in the MCU I still give a shit about are Moon Knight, Shang Chi (which I liked as a king fu movie, not a cape flick) and the upcoming Armor Wars
Eternals was the second genuinely BAD movie in the series (the other being Thor 2; Thor was bland, Incredible Hulk didn’t fit in, and IM2 is my favorite broken mess of studio interference). Dr Strange two was a lesser echo of the first; visually spectacular, narratively hollow. Love and Thunder WASTED both Jane and Valkyrie, and undid the lingering effects of Ragnarok that Infinity War and Endgame hadn’t ripped away. Spider-Man FFH was an excellent follow-up to endgame, and presented a lot of promise, but NWH killed any of that and, while an excellent crossover piece, failed to be anything on its own. I WANT to believe Hawkeye will reignite some love when I get to it, but when the cinematic stuff doesn’t even have me bouncing with anticipation in line, it’s not looking good.
Wandavision didn’t catch my eye. Loki seems interesting but I’m not that interested in seeing more of HIM. Falcon and Winter Soldierwas alright. But like…damn how can you call alright an acceptable standard when continuing the most successful THING since Harry Potter and Pokémon?!

Okay so for like crossing over with any MCU heroes for Barry I have a couple of ideas one where everything from the Arrowverse could still be his canon (I still would like Crisis to be the cut despite the fact I’m actually enjoying this season of the Flash....I don’t want to think about the Forces storyline as the past but i also would love for it to be Team flash just discovering the multiverse like in season 2 and maybe it could be like how Barry met Kara and the Superfriends?)
Or I could use my MCU verse and maybe Barry is a newer hero. Like maybe it was right before the Blip he got his powers and then blipped out for five years...or he got started during the blip.(definitely wouldn’t do Flashpoint until after the blip just for reasons) ...if you want he could have bumped into the Avengers but I still like the idea of him mostly sticking to Central City but maybe it was while they were trying to figure out time travel he discovers he can time travel...I’m unsure if I want to do Flashpoint so early in Barry’s hero journey but it could serve as a lesson for him about time travel And maybe he accidentally runs to another Earth since the mutliverse opened up. (Like I might mention the other arrowverse heroes but it mostly would be Oliver like in the beginning of the Flash maybe Black Canary and Arsenal could be mentioned since they were all active when Barry was just getting started).
And to be clear even if it’s mutliverse stuff I still will be willing to rp with any MCU hero because I want Barry to meet them all...

i hope we get a crossover with moon knight and the eternals and have layla meet and become friends with makkari because i feel that they would get along perfectly i mean considering the eternals during their lifetimes might have possibly came into contact with khonshu, taweret and the all the other Egyptian gods/ deity’s, just think that would be really cool to see.  and i am assuming the celestials would know of other gods.
