I feel like my stardew material farming methods are actually really bad if no one talks about them because is it weird that instead of deforesting cindersap I completely filled the quarry with mahogany trees, and then wood chipped all of the hardwood from that into wood, and half of that is wood for my machines and half I turn into coal so I have a lot of wood and a lot of coal for like no effort except the heaps of setup????

Like is

Cut down cindersap -> grow own regular trees while waiting for it to regrow -> it regrows -> repeat

actually more efficient than

Fill whole quarry with mahogany trees (~900 hardwood from a full harvest) -> turn into wood with wood chippers (average ~130-150 wood per 20 hardwood converted) -> continue processing hardwood until out or forest regrows (about 2 or 3 ingame weeks) -> profit
