Hey, I just wanted to say to everyone who’s supporting me in this very unfortunate and just plain shitty thing that’s happening on AO3 - thank you. I really do appreciate it. AND just for those who have absolutely no idea what’s going on, I’ll explain it.

So, basically around three weeks ago I wrote and posted a smut fic on AO3 about two characters from Jackson’s Diary (if you don’t know what it is, it’s a Webtoon) and I immediately received an ENORMOUS amount of backlash, due to the fact the one of the characters was 17 - ergo, underage. I thought “well, that’s a reasonable thing to get titchy about”, so I re-tagged the work and stated in the A/N that the specific character was aged up a couple months, just to smoothen everything out. But, SURPRISE, it didn’t work. I started getting more backlash, which then turned into hate. It just kept coming and coming. At this point I was like “Jesus, how does one short fic cause all this?”. Then I received several requests (actually no, orders) to take the work down. Now, I’m new to writing fanfiction. I’ve been into reading it for maybe 4 years now, but I’ve only just started publishing works and this is the first fandom that I’ve officially joined, and I didn’t know that specific people had power over what I can and can’t write, sooo...yeah. But then, things took a turn.

I was scrolling through the fandom one day when I found a post titled “Please stop”. I was curious and clicked on it, only to find that it wasn’t an actual fanfic but a call-out post, telling all the people (aka me) who post smut fics (I literally posted ONE) to stop because it’s a.) disgusting, b.) is a basic representation of pedophilia and c.) is basically child p*rnography. Now I was astonished at these accusations. I aged up ONE character by a couple months, now I’m being called a pedophile? I explained that I myself am a minor, even younger than the underaged character, but of course that didn’t change anything. I tried to explain politely in the comments section that I didn’t mean anybody any harm whatsoever, and I was then harassed (and that’s not an overstatement) by several people, being told to take it down. So, my naive little brain couldn’t take it anymore so I took the work down. I then posted an apology. Now the reason I did this was not because I regretted writing the work, no no, it was just to stop all the goddamn disgusting comments about me. But it turns out I’d only added fuel to the fire.

I started receiving even more vile comments, some including death threats, others untruthful accusations about how I was a groomer or a child sexual abuser, others just calling me the most disgusting person alive. This had a serious effect on my mental health. I’m naturally a very happy person. I love making people laugh. I love making people smile and feel good about themselves, but now I felt like shit! I felt like I was all the things people were calling me. I was told to kill myself because everyone hated me. I don’t think there was a single supportive or positive comment on that post. I left it up for ages, until one day I came across a comment (from the same person who posted the “Please stop” fic) talking about a TikTok video about it. And I thought...”oh no”.

I IMMEDIATELY got my ass over to TikTok and saw the video, and...let’s just say I didn’t take it well. The comments were...unexplainable. Calling me the most vile words a person can be called. Accusing me of pedophilia, for the thousandth time! So many comments...horrible things said by people who don’t even know me! Judgement of my character, of my virtues, and they just kept coming. Then there was ANOTHER post by the same account, which then brought in MORE hurtful comments. By then I’d had enough. I had a full-on mental breakdown, trashing literally everything. Then anxiety started. I’m still in school, and I kept thinking “what if somebody at my school knows I did this?”. I started becoming anxious all the time, and it was all I thought about. Until somebody actually supported me and posted about the whole thing on Tumblr, which brought in SO many wonderful people! And I’ve tried explaining it to people on TikTok and AO3, but nobody will listen. But here I know people will listen. I’m sorry for sharing my whole boring story with you all, and by the way, it’s still ongoing so if you want to go have a look, it’s still up on AO3 with more comments every day!

But yeah, I just wanted to say that I really appreciate all my supporters in this difficult time, you really do make my day.

how to install dashboard unfucker (for desktop)

hi i use desktop and i use the dashboard unfucker extension by dragongirlsnout and you should too because it's awesome. i don't know much about computers so it was intimidating to set up but ended up being really easy.

but first:

what is dashboard unfucker?

dashboard unfucker is an extention that makes being on tumblr bearable again.

(ID: 2 screenshots of tumblr with urls/posts etc censored. the first is with the new layout, with labels on the left, the ad-free button, "check out these blogs," "explore all of tumblr," the radar, and no easy way to access your own blog. the second is with the extension enabled, the left hand side of the screen is empty, posts are wider, navigation icons are back at the top right, and the only thing on the right-hand side of the dash is the dashbaord unfucker and limit checker and tag replacer from xkit. end ID)

i got it for layout changes like these- the first is cramped and ugly and i feel like i'm on twitter. the second is warm and comfy and i can make my posts wider (i dont like all the empty space). (limit checker, tag replacer, and post color were done on xkit and palettes respectively, not unfucker, btw)

with the dashboard unfucker you can:

hide the following/blog subs/for you etc tabs

get rid of the changes/staff picks/etc carousel

hide recommended blogs and tags

add profile pics back to posts

hide the radar

hide the explore page

hide tumblr shop

hide user badges

highlight bots in ur activity feed

show who follows u in the activity feed

make posts wider/slimmer and move the dash posts position to the left/right

revert messages design (and make the messages box bigger)

revert activity feed to the old design

display vote counts on polls

show poll results without clicking (no more skewing polls or "see results"!!)

disable tumblr domains

add polls to reblogs

disable "post without tags?"

show ns.fw posts

and other things that i probably missed copying this from the settings!!

so how do you do it? it seems scary but it's easy actually. take my hand

(note: i did this on firefox and tested it on chrome, i'm not familiar with other browsers, also use firefox if at all possible fuck chrome)

how to install dashboard unfucker

step 1: install either tampermonkey, tampermonkey beta, greasemonkey, or violentmonkey (if you don't already have it)

note: im using tampermonkey as an example because it's what i use

step 2a: go to firefox extensions/chrome web store/your browser's equivalent

step 2b: look up "tampermonkey" and click "add to firefox/chrome/whatever" and confirm

step 2c: you're done! yayyy

step 2: click this link. look under "installation" where it says "Click on unfucker.user.js to install or update". and click that

(it should open in a new tab and look like this)

step 3: click install! (when i did this it didn't look like much happened and i got scared. dont get scared take my hand)

step 4: go to www.tumblr.com and to the right of the dash it'll have the dashboard unfucker label to the right!

(ID: the default dash again, but with the dashboard unfucker title at the top right of the right-hand side of the dash. end ID)

step 5: click the little gear icon and all the options will pop up! u can fuck around with em to ur heart's content. i recommend exporting after ur done and saving it somewhere in case u have to uninstall/reinstall to troubleshoot or smth

you're done! now u can see the results of polls without clicking them and other such things

(ID: a poll i have not voted on. it has 17 votes and 23h 56m remaining. the title is "poll :)" and the answers are "answer 1" "answer 2" and "see results". there are no percentage labels, but the amount each answer has is indicated by light blue bars in each result, as they would be if i had voted. end ID) note: i'm not sure how/if this aspect of the extension is indicated for screenreaders

🖍 I think I've pretty much liked drawing since I was a pretty young child to be honest? the first time I remember being really proud of something I drew though was when I drew a really cool looking dragon when I was nine and I took it into school to show my teacher lol

🐻 basically just whichever character I'm enjoying at the moment!! I definitely draw to destress so if my brain has a silly fun idea, those are the ones that make me the most happy and definitely bring me the most comfort <3 see for example; every time a muppet appears in my art haha

🦋 oooo interesting!!! I really don't know, I'd have to get someone else to compare! I'd say that, because I learned to draw portraits by studying photos of myself for school (we had to take our own ref photos) certain features definitely slip in haha. I definitely give characters my chin during sketching and have to change it so it actually looks like them

bonus: I started drawing glee fanart when I was 16!! this was the klaine/brittana drawing lol; there were probably more sketchy doodles over the years that are unfortunately lost because they didn't get put in folders or they're stuck on my old broken ipad. I was watching the show from the start all the way through for the first time and my brain was unlocking a new obsession so I guess I just wanted to be able to capture the characters well and find a way to express how excited I was about finding this new love!!! I posted it to tumblr and didn't expect it to get much attention because people assume nobody really cares about glee anymore, but it got some nice comments and I was very happy :) of course, I didn't properly get involved with glee art tumblr until this year and I wish I'd done it sooner!!!

I always give super long answers to things so I hope these aren't too much 😭💕

okay anyways the akkuya thing is finished at 1.2k now which is longer than i expected but i'm not complaining fr. will probs post it later today hehe

Well, I’ve finished my treatment for the kidney infection :D.

I have another doc appointment this Thursday and psychiatrist appointment on Friday LOL!!!

For now I’m also taking acid blockers to help with my digestion / internal inflammation.

Mostly my biggest L has been nutrition—

I’m doing my best to be healthy and what not but my body nerfs me in some type of way — appetite, digestion, blah blah blah

Tldr;

I lost an unhealthy amount of weight because I can’t digest anything and I could barely eat anything for like a week;

My sis told my mom she thinks I should be institutionalized because she’s afraid I’m going to die from malnutrition 🦆.

Anyways, things are starting to … hopefully, get better ❤️‍🩹.

I’m actually ABLE to eat so >:].

I feel the need to state here— I don’t have an eating disorder (in the traditional sense). About a year and a half ago I was suddenly unable to eat: wheat, peanuts, egg whites, milk/anything with lactose 🤪

That’s like. Almost every food ever. LOL.

Most things are made with wheat flour, or eggs or blah blah blah.

So completely changing my diet had me fked up for 6 months; I adjusted — but then my health continued to worsen, and in July we finally learned I had an intestinal infection called H. Pylori—all of July I was treated for that.

The first week of august was okay….and then I slowly started to worsen, more and more and more, until the Nov 1st ER trip <33. Where they told me I had a kidney infection. (And as stated before, I just finished treatment for that.)

Anyways; I LOVE food I LOVE eating; but bro. Do you know how much it fvcking SUCKS when it genuinely hurts to eat? When I am constantly fighting against having no appetite, and the constant nausea after like 3 spoonfuls of food—do y’all know how desolate and desperate that can make a person? Blah >:O

Right.

Half the problems I’ve had with productivity in November can be directly correlated with low blood sugar making it so I can’t think worth of shxt 🫥👻

Mentally —

I think I’ve been okay? I mean whew. Literally last Monday to Wednesday I went through the WORST fvcking paranoia. Y’all would not even BELIEVE— 😩

This Friday I’ll be reconvening with my psychiatrist on what we should do (med wise 🤪).

So yeah — those are the basics of my situation.

(Lmao just now realizing idek if I even told y’all the extent of my intestinal and digestion issues 🥸.)

So, This is my first post, I don't really know how Tumblr works, so it's now my diary I guess. I literally made a Tumblr account for this (and for memes)

SO, context for this, my school had a "music in schools month" spirit week this week, and yesterday's thing was dress up as your favorite artist/wear music merch. I am trans (what a surprise) and I'm out to practically the entire school (I live in the south soooo it's interesting), also my parents are extremely transphobic/homophobic (my family is catholic) so there's no way in hell I'm coming out to them.

Moving on to the actual story, I wanted to use this opportunity to dress up as my gender (I'm mtf) and decided to wear a skirt. (I was trying to dress up as that one picture of Conan Grey in a skirt, but instead of a plaid blue skirt I had dark green with pink lines and instead of a black sweater vest, I had a sorta striped brown sweatshirt) Immediately there was a problem because the skirt was too short for school dress code, so I had to slightly unzip it and shimmy it down to where I could actually survive the day without admin getting onto me.

So I go to my first class and I'm doing great, I'm actually like, really happy and productive for once, and I don't realize it for about half an hour, but when I do, I start crying for some reason? like happy tears, my friends are using my preferred name/pronouns, and I'm living as myself, not really doing anything, just existing, and I loved it.

Next up is my second class which is chorus (yayyy music) and no one really cared that I was in a skirt. people gave me compliments but no one was like "omg, you're in a skirt? That's so great for you" which was kinda nice because it made me feel like dressing up as my gender wasn't something weird. We sung some music and it was great!

In my third class nothing really happened in the class itself, but I needed to go to the restroom, so I went, and I went to the mens because yeah, and immediately there was a cloud of smoke because there were a few people vaping in there. There were all standing in front of the only open stall so I asked nicely if they could move o I could use the restroom, and one of them responded "I need to use the restroom first" and I was like, sure, whatever, but then he very loudly exclaims "what has the world come to today" and that kinda hurt, not really because he's a douchbag, so I decided to tell the staff that they were vaping in the restroom because of that and they got in trouble.

In my last class which was band (yayyy more music) nothing really happened, but it was fun.

Taking April Off

The end of April will actually be my one-year back in the fandom; I posted my first story on the 23rd, and first post here on the 26th. 

So yayyy! Thanks for the welcome and the memories. 

But I do need a break. I can feel writing become a stressor instead of an outlet, and for now I need to think of myself and try to mentally regroup from the chaos that was this past year. I am so thankful to have had you all through it, and no, I am not going away. I will still interact on tumblr some, probably still read because I love the stories you all create.  I might play on gordonthesquid some.

So the plan for now -

I’m going to get through the epilogue for Hold Fast and see what I can accomplish (if anything) the rest of March, but then I am doing a no writing April. I need the time to find my groove again, to find value in the amount of effort and sheer self I am putting into writing, and figure out how to fit it into my life again.

yea!! basically what i do is .Well ok here's my entire artistic process actually LMAO

first i just take a long screenshot of like. tumblr blue or black for the dividers, and then i type out like.

and then add the color to the follow (usually blue) and bold to the url and notes, and then an emoji for the pfp!

for tags i just shift+return (on puter) to put em in, i used to make them small but its time consuming

i also used to use emojis for the rb/like/etc buttons but again. time consuming. &also sometimes emojis show up different for differnt people. like ive used the white heart emoji for the like button but idk if thatll show up for u . also spacing is harder cuz it has to look ok on mobile And desktop

Here's a little life update bc I haven't been here in ages ! 🙈

So after two completed semesters, i'm on my final semester doing the master thesis in the lab, full time. The first two semesters were all online basically so it is now that im getting to know more people here :) I'm supposed to be finished by Feb 2022 if everything goes well ! 🤞🏻

On the other hand, lately I've been feeling super creative and motivated to do art and I'm actually now trying to start up a small business thing with my drawings, for the moment i have a few drawings of Taylor for sale as well as prints of them so yayyy. I'm also doing custom drawings 😌 (I am one message away 😊)

I switched my long time IG account to an art account and I'm posting there my art journey. I'm getting pretty good I would say !!! You can swing by @ longlive_illustrations on insta and have a look 🥺

2021 was like a breakthrough year for me as a writer, when I finally decided that in order to refer to myself as a writer, I needed to write! I’ve been blessedly welcomed into two beautiful fandom communities this year, Irondad and Severitus, and it all makes me so happy 💛 I posted 17 fics on Ao3 last year which is kinda crazy to me and it was a little difficult to narrow them down, but here we go! I’m bad at tumblr so I’ll just link all works at the bottom of this post 👇

1. Scissors

this is hands down my favorite work of mine, because it comes from a very personal place for me. I think that the main reason it’s so dear to me though is because of the tremendous amount of support that community has shown me, like just the outpouring of love towards my personal story and then the people in the comments sharing their own stories and struggles with mental health… it’s a fic I was very nervous about posting because of what people might think and in turn I feel like it’s become such a safe place to discuss the sort of things that the story is focused on and it just really means a lot to me that strangers on the internet are not only willing to be so kind to me but also brave enough to share their journey as well.

2. Illicit Affairs

this is kind of a dark story presented in such a light tone lmao I was super excited when I first started writing this and boy it flopped so hard, for like five solid chapters I didn’t think that anyone was reading it and I felt so discouraged but at the same time, you gotta write for yourself, right? I figured that this was a story that I wanted to read so I’d better write it. About midway through writing the original ten chapter layout one idea crossed my mind and pretty much changed everything, and so it took me awhile to finish but I’m so proud of it and the response it’s received now is mindblowing to me and while I was so relieved to finally finish that final chapter, I just couldn’t seem to let go of my innocent Hufflepuff Harry so I’m continuing the story as a series with one-shots, one of which is already posted and there’s a couple more in my docs just waiting to be polished up.

3. Itsy Bitsy Spider

only Irondad fic listed here? Okay… yeah XD there’s like four other ones that I posted this year are okay, but I feel like this one is a lot better. I was so excited to hop on the Friendly Neighborhood Gift Exchange, but I also had no idea what to write and was so nervous as to what my giftee would request… luckily @asyouleft said that they were cool with anything and so that somehow ended up here XD I had been reading a lot of Homeless Peter fics and identity reveals are always cool, and I thought I could have something like that occur around Christmas and while it’s barely mentioned in the fic, it does happen 😂 I almost didn’t do the whole repetitive “there was a spider” thing at the beginning of each scene but I mean… there was a spider XD

4. Calamity

gahh… I look back on this fic and see nothing but a contingency mess, but it’s one of my most popular fics and I guess I have to appreciate it for being the first real fic I’ve written. I mean I’ve been writing fic for several years but it was very, very bad and I didn’t really even seem to realize it which is the sad part 😂 I started when I was thirteen tho so let’s just say this was my first fic as an adult. Uh, anyway, I start to feel self conscious about my work after about six months (or hours but like whatever) so I haven’t actually looked over it in quite awhile, but I guess it’s what kickstarted me into really writing fic so yayyy!

5. The Boy Who Swung

this is a chaotic mess and I’ve never had more fun writing anything. I always like to incorporate humor into my stories bc that’s my coping mechanism or whatever but I never imagined that I would write a full on crack, or a crossover fic, but here we are. the best works to me are the ones that teach you how to write more and/or differently, and I feel like this one taught me that I don’t have to try quite so hard in order to achieve my writing goals because it didn’t take me long to write and it was perhaps the first time I really actually enjoyed writing something lmao

It’s so reassuring to read how different everyone’s experiences are with masturbation, organism and sex. I’m 27 years old and have never been in a serious relationship or had a sexual experience, and that always made me feel worthless or that no one would ever be interested in me.
