Ohh so jealous you're by the sea. Do you get amy boats in view?
Thanks for answering!
Asks! 19 & 20. Favorite thing about the day and favorite thing about the night.
Hi @whatgaviiformes! <3
Favorite thing about the day? I get to see the sea from my apartment window, in all seasons. I live quite nearby to it so I can visit anytime I want. ☺️
Favorite thing about the night? Hmm... Mostly drawing and writing. I'm usually very active at night (RIP to my sleep schedule, lol 😂)
Thank you for the ask Gavii! ^^
The ask list

Some asks :)
1 what are 3 things you’d say shaped you into who you are?
24 what’s one thing you’re proud of yourself for?
26 fave colour and why?
26b most used yarn colour?
1. 3 things that shaped me into who I am...
Teachers: I had some excellent and supportive teachers growing up that I didn't want to disappoint. Between them and the work ethic I inherited from my mom, I made my academics a large part of who I am and always strove for straights A's when I was in school. Although I'm no longer taking classes for anything, I've brought that desire to perform well to my work.
Fantasy: I'm cheating by putting a genre here, but I read A LOT growing up. It was a few stories in the fantasy genre that made me realize that reading wasn't about what the school curriculum decided would be the most educational and enriching. It was about journeys, escape, seeing something from another perspective. And yes, the obvious one is in this list but I also read a lot of Tamora Pierce, and Madeleine L'Engle (though that's probably more along the lines of sci-fi).
Team sports - I was in softball and synchronized ice skating, so that gave me the heart for teamwork and accomplishing something together. I was also in the girl scouts, so that contributed too.
Obviously there are others, but those are some things that established a few of my core values very early on.
24. One thing I'm proud of myself for...
It actually is my crochet. It's one of those skills that keeps on giving since there's so much you can learn within the craft. And I know there's a niche of the craft I can say honestly I know I'm pretty good at. I'll be humble over everything else, but the thread work was something I picked up on my own, learned through tutorials I found myself and just gave a try. There's always room to grow the skillset, but right now that's one thing I am proud of and how I feel unique in the crafting space. Now the interest in doilies however is a different story. They are not a quick turnaround to make.
26. Favorite color and why
I like a lot of colors for different reasons, so I probably need this to be more specific 😁. Just based on aesthetic my favorite color is blue, and I like anything in the spectrum of blue. In clothes, I gravitate towards burgundy - it was my school colors twice, so I have a lot of hoodies in that shade. For you all, 💚💛. Can't forget those.
And 26b- when it comes to yarn- also probably blue since I am not making clothes all that often. I do have a lot of doilies in burgundy and purple since I made those for the table centerpieces for my wedding (and those were the colors), but if you remove those my Instagram tends to keep coming back to blue. I use everything, though. Brights, pastels. The one shade I don't see a lot of in my crafts or stash is brown.

Fic: Grannies - part 3
A/N: Sorry this took so long. Unedited.
Summary: Gordon’s committed to the bit. The bit just happens to be an obnoxious amount of granny squares
Part 1 here | Part 2 here
Also just added to AO3
In this part: Virgil
“Your brother,” Virgil says, sinking heavily across from Scott at his work desk. The words trail… “Infuriating.” The chair was only there some of the time - mostly when more than one of them had to be on a conference call.
Scott raises an eyebrow, his typing unhindered by his younger brother suddenly resting his cheeks on the wooden desk in defeat. “And? What did Gordon do now?”
It’s of no consequence to Virgil that his big brother can tell just who’s the problem. It's obviously Gordon. They all have their little tiffs every now and then, but none of them would ever headdesk over the youngest, John's too far away for arguments to linger, and since Virgil is coming to Scott…
Virgil and Gordon work together too closely sometimes.
The interesting part is Gordon's off duty; he was called out to Eddington to spend some time on site with his marine research and would continue to be on leave for another four days.
“He leave you with a parting gift?” Scott asks. “Replaced your hair gel with Vaseline? Reorganized your paints? Switched your phone to pig latin?”
“Ugh, do not put those ideas out in the Universe,” Virgil warns, warily raising his head from his hands to glance around the villa. He doesn’t put it past Gordon to have ears around, especially those named Alan. Feeling safe that no one is hiding nearby, he swings back to Scott, his eyes narrowing as he catches sight of familiar stitching resting on the desk underneath Scott’s coffee. “You!”
Virgil clambers for the square, pushing the mug to where the desk is bare. Luckily, Scott’s mostly drunk it through and so the liquid barely swirls halfway up the side in his haste to grab for the fabric below it.
He glares at Scott.
“It’s finished.” He raises the granny square up to Scott’s eye level, his fingertips white where he holds up the coffee-stained yarn. “How is this one finished?”  The confusion on Scott’s face dissipates, and Virgil notices the quirk of his smile that tells him Scott is biting the inside of his cheek to keep his expression in check.  “Why are you laughing? Stop it,” he says.
Scott takes this as permission, of course, to crack a smile, and Virgil’s eyebrow twitches indignantly.
“This is about the blanket, then?” Scott calmly and gently pries his coaster from Virgil’s fingers and straightens it back on the desk, followed by the mug in its proper position. “Before you start shouting betrayal, Gordon is still a shit and equal-opportunity pest. John wove in the ends for me last time he was here.”
“John did?”
“Yes.”
Virgil deflates; the sigh deeply lodged in his chest as he squeezes the bridge of his nose. “Do you think he’d be willing to do about, oh, 200 more? And how do you know about the blanket?”
“Neither one of you are entirely subtle.”
“Gordon figured it out, didn’t he?”
Scott hesitates. Nods. “There’s really only so much you can do with them. Retaliate, or make something. Gordon knows you well enough to know you won’t discard them. So…”
“So, he already knows I’m making something. Left all of these ends unwoven on purpose? Chose the most offensive colors known to humankind, specifically to annoy me?” Virgil shakes his head, groaning. “Nevermind, I don’t need you to answer.”
“You know who he is,” Scott says with a grinning shrug. “I can’t let you disown him.”
“Pity.”
“Is that what dragged you down here all defeated?”
Virgil points a finger. “I am not defeated. I’m frustrated. And I’m not sure there’s a point to all of it if there’s no element of surprise.”
“Virg-”
“I’ve been trying for,” he checks his watch, “five hours to arrange these squares together, and nothing looks right. So what do I do? I take a break, weave in some ends, come back to it after. And after - I have more ends and still no design.”
“That sounds pretty defeated to me.”
“He wants me to go insane!”
“He wants you to embrace his chaos,” Scott amends. “Come now, Virgil. You got this. Let us help,” he encourages, and Virgil has no choice but to sigh as his brother reaches for the comm to Thunderbird Five. “John, we have a situation.”
Their brother smirks when he answers. His hair is a shade darker than usual and waving in its wet, unstyled shape, indicating that John’s only recently gotten out of the shower. He’s dressed, but hasn’t switched his glasses for contacts. “You know, that’s my line,” he responds dryly. “Good Morning, Virgil.”
It’s 3PM.
But it is the first time Virgil has had a chance to speak to John since he spent the bulk of his morning with the project at hand. Virgil usually checks in with their distant space monitor during his morning coffee, so Virgil internally scolds himself for the rude gesture he was about to make and recognizes the irritation he feels is not John’s - or even Scott’s - fault. He waves instead.
It’s easier to let Scott explain. As the oldest of them, he has a way of focusing on facts and details for emotionally charged situations. It’s one of the reasons he’s a great commander. Of course, if he’s the one emotionally charged, that’s a different story.
“Show me his stitches, again?”
Now, John however, he’s concise - often three steps ahead before he clues the rest of them in.
Scott picks up the coaster and pushes his chair back to come around the desk to give John a better view. Once Virgil spins his chair to fully face John’s hologram, Scott places a hand on his shoulder.
“Yeah, you’re not doing that,” John tells him, matter-of-fact. “Crochet what ends you can when you join squares together. Measure everything so I can get enough fabric, and I’ll help you put a lining on it.” He says the list of instructions with the same inflection as when directing a rescue, his hands flying across the resources in front of him.
It’s not a bad idea. With a lining, the most weaving he might need to do would be ensuring all ends were on the “wrong” side of the squares.
“What about if something pokes through the spaces of the granny square?”
John raises an eyebrow at Virgil’s question. “He’ll deal. He knew what he was doing when he didn’t finish them off properly. Don’t worry, we’ll find something so obnoxiously fishy, he won’t care. I found a pattern here with anemones in little hats.”
Virgil can’t help but giggle at that, and John smiles at him brightly, his eyes larger behind the wire frames.
“I’ll keep looking,” he tells him. “We can keep workshopping ideas.”
“Thanks, Jay. Now about the arranging,” Scott says. “I have some ideas about that, Virgil, if you’re willing to show me what you have.”
Grateful, Virgil nods. “Another set of eyes would be great.”
“F-A-B! Let’s go make order out of chaos.”

This is a must read
I finally finished this fic which I’ve been working on for a while. I’ll let the tags and the summary/first little bit speak for themselves as I’ve got no more words left. It’s 12,000 words as one thing so I’m just linking the Ao3 as opposed to making into into a do you like the colour of the sky and star situation!
Edit to add LOOK FABULOUS FANART OF MY FANFIC BY @lying4sport https://www.tumblr.com/astranite/748183025848909824/this-is-fabulous-and-i-love-it-and-thank-you
Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Thunderbirds Are Go (Cartoon 2015) Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: John Tracy & Scott Tracy Characters: John Tracy, Scott Tracy Additional Tags: Hurt/Comfort, this is what it is fundamentally but we do dive into the angst and the fluff, Autistic John Tracy, Scott Tracy has ADHD, Scott Tracy Has PTSD, Autistic meltdowns, References to Depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder - PTSD, Chronic Illness, that’s how i’m treating John’s space issues, this is all written from a disability and neurodiversity lens and lot of my own experience, there’s alot going on but there’s also alot of love here, and acceptance, its about hope its always about hope ultimately, things are hard and they wont just fix themselves but it does get better, we just have to keep hanging on. all of us you and me together, its not a straight line there are alot of up and downs and emotions in this fic, as in life and everything because thats whats its like but its not impossible
Summary:
John threw his arm over his face as the lights suddenly turned on and tried to burn out his eyeballs.
Scott muttered apologies, voice kept considerately quiet. John heard the flick of the switch and the click of the door closing as all settled back to blissful darkness. Shuffling noises continued: the thwump of what he guessed was a very expensive suit jacket tossed carelessly over the back of a chair, a muffled curse as something was tripped over and the cracking of Scott stretching out his back. Then footsteps hushed by deep pile carpet came back to his side of the room. John kept his eyes screwed shut, arm still draped across his face. He could feel his own heartbeat, a touch too fast and in time with the throbbing pain in his head. The hotel sheets were a ridiculous thread count, all silky smooth with crisply made corners, but they scraped against his skin because they weren’t the same worn, soft ones he had at home or his sleeping bag up on Five which was also home. He’d be getting smotherhenned any second now that Scott had found him, but honestly, he was too tired to care.

In case you missed it.
I'll send around a couple more times before FishTank Week to keep the prompts fresh.
Thank you all for your excitement! I've been feeling a little outside of fandom happenings lately so this little event has been a great way to recenter myself. I can't wait to see what you all come up with. For the love of FishTank. :)
FishTank Week 2024! - May 12-18
Tumblr media
Well, you all asked for a rinse, repeat, and most of you wanted prompts ASAP, so welcome again to FishTank Week, 2024 edition! We had such a fun time last year bringing out all our yellow and green and fiiiiish and music. I hope 2024 brings new ideas, new inspiration, and always all the FishTank things.
FishTank? Yes, Fishtank, the name we use in the thunderfam for the brother relationship of Virgil and Gordon. Brotp for some, but otherwise still so fun to explore anyway!
When is FishTank Week? This year it'll run from Sunday May 12th through Saturday May 18th. The significance of the week? Loosely calculated as the day between their birthdays, but honestly any excuse 💚💛
How do I celebrate FishTank Week? Like last year, we are releasing a series of prompts (see below). If they inspire you to write or create art, you can choose to post those on the exact day or anytime that week. Fic, Reblogs, Recs, and Art are welcome and appreciated all week long. Anything's welcome, so don't forget mood boards, music, head canons. Whatever you can think of!
We'll be active that week as well reblogging, and with some QOTDs and daily posts reminding of the prompt(s).
I'm not interested in FishTank: *hugs* totally fine. Our tags this year will be #fishtankweek and #fishtankweek2024 if you want to block them.
Questions: Reblog, comment, or you are also welcome to reach out to me directly.
Thanks to @emtb319 and @idontknowreallywhy for collaborating this year. And @gumnut-logic for letting me use a daily dose screen shot for the below.
Tumblr media
Prompts - we've added some options within the prompts and some alternates for you to use as you like. Inspiration is the goal, and the only guideline is FishTank. The others can make an appearance too. We won't make you clean TB 4 for having a wayward Tracy, Kyrano, Creighton-Ward, or others around for the fun. But definitely Virgil and Gordon.

15: "We're a team, always" | "Did you doubt me?"

Good luck fish wrangling, and happy creating!
See you on the 12th,

Few hours left to get your thoughts in
Knowing FishTank week is May 13-18, in about a month, when would you like to see the prompts? Are you a plan ahead and wait to share kind of person? A quick inspo during the week kind of person? Somewhere in the middle?

Yaaaas. And some Johnny, excellent!
I am not surprised to see how much the others are making their appearance. It's interesting, poor Gordon, for such a critical moment in his life, how the story happens around him. But it makes sense - so we can experience the family moving mountains to save him.
I'm loving the world building you've put in here too.
Thank you for fic!

Glossary (contains backstory spoilers)
Many thanks to @onereyofstarlight, @idontknowreallywhy, @womble1 and @sofasurf for all their amazing support of my writing.
Here we continue with the fic about Gordon, but this bit focusses on Johnny and a little backstory.
Sorry for the delay in writing. I will get there eventually.
I hope you enjoy.
-o-o-o-
John was beside himself. Cóic’s thoughts were a turmoil and her heart anguished.
“It was not your fault, my love.” He reached up, ever so glad of his lanky height to reach her eyebrow feathers and rub her gently. “You know Gordon-“
She snorted, warm breath catching his long hair and tossing it about.
“Yes, he has a history of rapscallion-hood, but you know his heart. He would not have acted any other way, even should he have known this outcome. He did this for us.” He let his forehead rest against her white and gold cheek feathers, soft in their strength. “As did our father.”
That was a raw wound in his heart. Losing their father and king, his strength…all because…
It was Cóic‘s turn to interrupt his train of thought, sour that it was. He reached his fingers to his left temple, closing his eyes as her mind enveloped his.
It truly was magic. To be held like a child in the arms of a giant. Cóic had inherited the memories of the Ages, those who had come before, and the wisdom that entailed. But she was still young, unable to access it all until she was fully grown. Kyrano had spoken of it as a burden and part of John feared his beloved dragon would lose some of herself the day she came into her knowledge.
And feared he wouldn’t be good enough.
His father had spoken to him from a very young age about the importance of the gift he had been given, the honour it was to help guide a Matriarch into adulthood.
His mother’s family had been stewards of the great dragons across the Western Ocean and when the Matriarch of the tribe chose him to be the companion of her unborn child, the O’Treasaigh family had been ever so honoured.
His mother had held him in her lap telling him stories of the old ones and legends of their tribe leading back into the darkness of the past. How the tribe had grown strong and safe with the dragons, the great Thunderbirds. And how, in each generation one was chosen for the next Matriarch, the next great Thunderbird. Chosen for his mental prowess and agility, his strength for love and for kindness.
The Matriarch had chosen John.
And Gaat had not agreed.
John hadn’t been aware of it at first, until one day their father announced they were returning home.
As far as he and his brothers were concerned, they were home. The land of the Matriarch was all they had ever known. They were, of course, aware that their father was from across the ocean, very far away indeed. And they knew the story of how he had entered these lands held in Óen’s claws, a half-dead bedraggled mess - Kyrano’s words, not John’s.
The tales of Ériu, a land of eternal green and bounty, of their grandfather, Flaithri O’Treasaigh, king of their lands, and their grandmother who had trained in the Temple and knew all the medicines and was so kind to their people.
It would have been harder to leave if Gaat hadn’t forced the issue. John was still young when it all happened, but he remembered the fires and the screams. His mother grabbing him and Cóic, still in her egg, and bundling them up in furs so warm.
Of Óen’s bellows and fire, all the family’s dragons taking to the air in the darkness, his mother’s reassuring words as she held him close, his father’s voice firm and strong.
John shook himself. He often drifted when held by Cóic. He suspected she had interest in his memories and his point of view. They were so different, yet together they were one.
The family had returned to Ériu to great fanfare. The Flaithri was over joyous to have his son not only return, but with a wife and three strong sons.
The revelation of dragons took a longer time to settle, but eventually the O’Treasaigh family settled back into a new comfort, a new home that was as full of history as their previous.
The Kyrano family had travelled with them, their mother’s brother exercising the right to ensure her safety. Scott had once confided in John claiming Kyrano wanted to get away from Gaat as much as any of them. Gaat was a half-brother to both their mother and Kyrano, and a half they could both do without.
But as time passed and they all settled, it was good to have another family from across the Western Sea to share memories with.
Gordon and Alan were born one after the other and the Flaithri doted on both the young children. Five strong sons were cause for as much celebration as three.
The day Cóic hatched, John’s life changed.
He had slept with the egg every night, kept it warm as his mother instructed. It had so long been his companion, it was second nature to keep it safe. Until early in the morning dark, he had been awoken by movement and shattering eggshell.
She had bowled him over in eagerness, landing on his chest, still dripping with egg fluids. He had been bewitched by her beautiful turquoise eyes - to this day, he still was - though it had taken some time for her gold-tipped white feathers to fully come in. As a hatchling she had been rather scrawny, more like a bald bird than a dragon.
The wave of fond mock-offence had him smiling and he suspected that his response was her purpose in sending it.
It also brought him back to the present and separated him a little from her embrace. Today was one of mourning but in it there may be hope.
Cóic rumbled deep in her throat.
John startled. “Have you a response?”
The matriarch had sent out a request, across dragon minds seeking one willing to give everything for a heroic young prince. One willing to make the sacrifice to save him.
How the dragons saw his people, why they served, associated, and loved their human counterparts was not clear. While Cóic never hesitated to share her thoughts with him, there was seeing and feeling, but understanding was not a given. Dragonkind had its mysteries and its purpose and it was other than what humans pursued or recognised. It was also something John could only accept and trust.
But the call out across the seas and the land looking for one willing to give everything for a stranger…only clarified dragon difference. It was a hope, but it was also a terror, an unknown.
Cóic warbled, her heart lifting. She touched her great head gently to John’s.
She had an answer.
Her reassurance was a boon. Gordon could be saved.
As his fingers drifted through her neck feathers and he climbed into her saddle, his hope was joined by fear and his heart ached.
