Daily update post:

Yesterday, there was a terrorist attack, two people were stabbed in the area where my mom's cousin and his wife live. I found out about it as I was returning from a medical appointment, going through a road where in Nov, a terrorist shot to death a young Israeli man.

Based on what the IDF has found of Hamas' armaments (which surpassed Israeli estimates), based on how things stand now, Hamas would be capable of continuing to fire rockets into Israel for at least 2-3 more years. That's why, even as the fighting continues, there are new defensive measures that will be built along road 232, the same road mentioned in the NYT's article about the Hamas rapes during the Oct 7 massacre.

Speaking of that article, apparently despite the insane amount of evidence in it, and mentioned recently in regards to the subject of the rapes, some are trying to deny that this part of the massacre happened. This is a perfect response (IMO) from feminists.againstantisemitism on IG:

Cyberwell, a watch dog that monitors antisemitism on social media, has reported a sharp rise in antisemitic posts since Oct 7. And not just of the new, anti-Zionist kind. There has been a rise in 1000% in posts accusing Jews of killing Jesus (yes, the Jew crucified by Romans almost 2,000 years ago... funny how you never see people going around saying Italians killed Jesus... almost like the whole thing isn't about who actually killed Jesus, and more about providing yet another excuse for antisemitism, a hatred that pre-dates Jesus), and 1600% in the hashtag saying that Hitler was right, the guy whose antisemitic, genocidal ideology, the attackers, maimers, rapists, kidnappers and murderers of Oct 7 would happily co-sign. And here's a reminder that what starts online, doesn't stay online. There have been unprecedented levels of antisemitism in many places, including in New Zealand. What got to me the most is the report on antisemitic incidents targeting school kids, and that only 40% of parents report these (sometimes 'coz previous cases have not been treated right, or the school is seen as being ill-equipped to deal with antisemitism). A 2021 survey found that 60% of New Zealanders agreed with antisemitic statements, so it might be argued that this recent outburst has been waiting to happen for a while, just waiting for an excuse to.

Here's another piece that I sadly could only find in Hebrew so far. It reveals some more of the interrogations of Hamas terrorists, this time covering how Hamas terrorizes civilians in Gaza. Here's my loose translation of a testimony's summary, from a Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist (Muhammed Darwish Amare). Another testimony, found at the same link, this one is of a former Hamas member (Zuhady Ali Zahdy Shahi): "I felt that we civilians are human shields. Why should we protect them? We want to be saved, too. That's Hamas' mistake. People left their house [during the fighting], and there was a safe passage, because the army told us to go south, that there will be food and water there. They drew a safe passage for us, and then we ran into [Hamas terrorists], who made us go into one of the neighborhoods. They told us, 'No one is going south, there are bombings, and no one can continue on the street.' We went into the Shifa hospital, and we got stuck inside. [The terrorists] sat among us, with the civilians. They were scared of the soldiers. I even argued with one of them, and told him, 'Your place isn't here, with the civilians, but downstairs [in the terror tunnels].' He told me that the moment the war would be over, he will punish me, he started threatening me." When asked what he thought of the IDF, Shahi said, "Truth is, based on what I've seen, I wish you would stay with us. If they would have stayed where we lived, we wouldn't be starving. The moment the army came into Shifa, we were scared of what would be done with us, but it was the opposite. They brought us food and water, and sat with us. We felt safe."

This is 56 years old Ilan Weiss.

His 53 years old wife Shiri and 18 years old daughter Noa were kidnapped by Hamas, and released in the hostage deal. Ilan himself, who was a member of the emergency team at kibbutz Be'eri, left his house on the morning of the massacre, as first reports came in, and wasn't heard of again. He was considered missing (meaning, it was unknown whether he was kidnapped or killed on Oct 7). Today it was announced that his body was identified, and he had been murdered during the massacre. May his memory be a blessing.

saw a post criticizing lore rekindled a while back, and one of the points made was "it's unfair to rachel that someone else can profit off and make money off her work"

do you profit off lore rekindled??? i don't remember if you ever said that you were monetizing lore rekindled, so i'm unsure where this piece of information came from

I literally do NOT profit off Rekindled in any way shape or form, it's a Tumblr comic that's free to read, zero subscriptions, paywalls, or ads.

I did just recently open a Patreon and apply my Twitch channel to become affiliate, but 1. my Patreon doesn't have any paid members yet , 2. my Patreon won't be offering rewards that limit the reading experience of Rekindled (it's gonna be like random doodles n junk), and 3. I haven't even streamed since I applied for Affiliate and people are watching the streams for art and lo-fi, not for any sort of exclusive reading experiences that wouldn't also be accessible on Tumblr (you just get to watch me slowly work on Rekindled while playing FF XIV LMAOO) All of these restrictions I have in place is to prevent exactly what folks assume or accuse me - profiting off Rachel's IP. At the end of the day I just wanna create an AU fanfic project, even if it's created out of disappointment for what could have been.

I *do* spend a few hundred a month though for my assistant. So I'm working on Rekindled completely at a loss, out of my own pocket. So in that regard, even if I were to monetize any part of Rekindled... it wouldn't be for my own profitable gain, I'd maybe be able to cover some of my assistant fees 🤣 (but that's just hypothetical food for thought, because as I said above, I don't want to monetize Rekindled because of the potentially legal and ethical issues in doing so. Making money is also just not why I'm making Rekindled because it's something I wanna just do for fun! Money complicates things, turns shit into a job :'0) And let's be real, in that hypothetical scenario, I don't think any money I could generate on my free to read Tumblr project would come anywhere close to threatening Rachel's bottom line 🤣

And this isn't to throw anyone under the bus but when people get suspicious of Rekindled profiting off LO, I can't help but think of the actual fans of LO selling handmade LO merch on Etsy and LO-style adoptables and other arts and crafts dedicated to their favorite comic. And I'm not gonna judge them for that, more power to 'em if people wanna buy their cool stuff (and some of it is really REALLY cool, like I wanna buy their stuff too LOL), I just think it's ironic that people separate the two because... I'm not a diehard fan? Or because Rekindled has gotten popular here. Beats me. All that "popularity" is still just a niche remake of a niche comic in a niche medium. It's not Spiderman Lotus levels of big 🤣 but I know it probably feels that big to people who are engaged with this fandom and spend a lot of time in it.

There's an opposite side of being a yes man that perpetuates similar behavior on the other side - when you come up with reasons to rag on someone just for the sake of it because you can't rationalize them NOT being the all 100% pulp of evil LMAO (and I see people do this even to Rachel and it's not fair imo, like people who use the Lolita thing as a way to accuse Rachel of being a legitimate pedophile? Like no, I don't think we should be normalizing serious accusations like that. I think she's just misinformed in a lot of ways at worst and suffering from dark romantasy porn brainrot at best LOL).

Like, as an example, I've also seen people claim stuff like I'm in the fan spaces telling people not to read LO and to read LR instead? Which like... why would I do that, LR isn't for the fans anyways and I don't gain anything by being a dick in their space 🤣 If my own readers are doing that, that's out of my hands (but respectfully don't do this please!!! there's a reason I don't use the standard LO hashtags and only stick to the anti ones!!!!) but again (and this is a big assumption so take with grains of salt) I think people just like to claim these things because they feel it's just naturally the right thing to do when someone who has opinions they don't like actually puts them into action. Because now they can't say shit like "well if you think you're so much smarter than Rachel why don't YOU write the story!" and "you don't know what it's like to manage a comic!" so they grapple onto whatever other argument they can even if it's misconstrued or entirely pulled out of thin air and not backed up with any legitimate evidence.

Their perspectives make sense to them. My perspective makes sense to me. I don't blame people for being suspicious when they see someone like me pour this much time and effort and money into a project like Rekindled, they assume it HAS to do with something they can rationalize from their own point of view, like wanting to "steal" Rachel's work or profit off it or take it for myself out of "jealousy".

Sorry to disappoint y'all with a boring answer, but I'm just someone who was once a huge fan of LO and couldn't let it go. I'm just someone who's way too hyperfixated, with a lot of passion for making comics and experience to match. I'd still be making it even if I didn't have an assistant. I'd still be making it even if I was stuck working with nothing but paper and pencil. Because I love making it and I love what it means to me, and I love that it makes other people feel the same way I do about it.

WIBTA for ghosting someone in RP?

This is a very chronically online problem, I'm aware, but I could use Tumblr's input. This is kinda long, so tl;Dr at the end.

So I (ftm), Z (nb), and O (f) (ages unimportant, but we're all adults) have a server for a shared fandom of ours. There are other people on the server too, but they're relatively unimportant to the problem.

One of the major channels to note was an rp channel. Things started off peachy keen! Everyone was having a grand old time! However, little problems started to pop up. O began introducing some ocs to the rp group chat, which, while outlandish for the setting (her ocs were ghosts from 1500's Minecraft Germany or whatever? I'm still not entirely clear since she's bad at continuity). And while I'm not against more out there ocs, the issue was how she used them, constantly trying to solve problems instantly. They felt more like MacGuffin's than characters. But whatever, she's our friend so we didn't really care.

Then, the racism incident happened.

It's a cool name, but sorta makes it sound more important than it was. Basically O had "monster form" at the end of each of her characters names, since apparently they had human forms too. Well, in an argument, a character referred to the group of ocs as monsters (since, how else would you refer to all of em at once?), and in one of her ocs replies they said smth like "oh btw thanks for the racist remark".

IMMEDIATELY in the ooc chat, Z and I both go "hey man, we're not playing the racism game", which... caused O to leave the server temporarily. Fun.

The relevance of the racism incident is to show why we can't just talk to her ooc about the upcoming issues.

((Very offhandedly she also keeps trying to pressure Z specifically into rping? Even though Z has made it clear many times this month that they are busy with the holidays??))

Anyways, time passes and O keeps wanting to tack on useless shit to her characters (both canon and ocs) for literally no reason. From "Bruno esk powers" to "shapeshifting genitals", it just felt like feature creep.

Eventually this comes to a head when she asks if her 32 year old character could be a WWII veteran.

You know. In the text chat based rp where characters use hashtags and emotes and talk about Twitter.

After a small back and forth between Z and O in the ooc chat, Z just kinda, gave up. Part of the reason they made the server was to transfer their previous rp writings to a server they own, so they don't have to worry about it getting deleted. (Before anyone assumes Z is just being strict, trust me. Z had been very accommodating with letting me and O make inputs and have our characters make an impact. This wasn't an issue of O's lack of control, but rather lack of care about the setting.)

Z admitted in a group chat with just me and their partner that they basically are just going to give up on their previous rp, and just let O do whatever she wants.

This really, and I mean REALLY, ticked me off.

Now, I will not start a ruckus about it on the server itself since I know Z hates confrontation, but now I've just settled on to give O the cold shoulder in rp, not replying to her ocs, barely interacting with her canon characters, etc.

I feel like in character I have a valid reason to ignore her (her ocs made one of my ocs upset, and my other characters are upset for him), but I can't tell if this would be too mean?

ALSO quick little note I forgot to mention above, but it's basically just the three of us in the rp chat, so with Z busy for the holidays, I'm the only other person who O would be able to rp with, if that impacts the vote.

TL;DR - Someone in a rp server is being a right ass and we cannot talk to her about it without potentially starting a huge fight, now I want to ignore her in rp. WIBTA

July seventh, 2019 Bang Chan Dating scandal Seriousness: 8.5/10

During their Clé promotions, Pixie is seen being awfully close to her members, specifically Bang Chan. Many Pixie antis start accusing the two of dating, turning into a fandom war. Many go on to say that the reason she is in Stray Kids is the "fact" that she is sleeping with Bang Chan.

While JYPE usually doesn't let their idols respond to the accusations, they had to give Pixie explicit permission, because if she wouldn't have made a statement with permission, she was going to do it anyway. This is her official response.

Stay, To say that I am beyond tired and frustrated is an understatement. The fact that you go as far as to say Chan, a full grown adult, is dating me, a minor, is frankly disgusting. I am disappointed. In the middle of your hate towards me, you bring down the man that is THE glue that holds Stray Kids. The reason I had been so close to the boys is because, believe it or not, we are all like family. Bang Chan is like a brother to me, and I doubt he sees me as anything other than a little sister. While many international fans praised the idol, many Knets were appalled by her blunt response. Pixie was already unpopular with Knets, so this just brought her down.

While many were hating on her apparent "rudeness", many praised her for sticking up for her leader. While they see her as "unladylike", they believed her sincerity for the response. It is not a day many recognize, because many people chose to forget the incident. Many Pixie antis still use this as "proof that she is a terrible person".

Along with her dating scandal, an American user by the name of Notsokayla had tweeted "proof" of Pixie bullying her severely in middle school. Many Knets were outraged at the allegations, starting the hashtag, #Pixieunemployment.

However, amidst the speculation, many people connected the dots of her trainee time and her alleged bullying and realized it hadn't added up. She had confirmed in a knowing bros episode that she had done most of her learning in South Korea instead of the states.

It was soon revealed that she had lied, and Stay flamed her on the internet. Right now, the tweet has been removed and Notsokayla is not on any platforms, as her name and face are infamous.

August 9th, 2022 Lesbian scandal Seriousness: 9/10

During her MANIAC promotions, Pixie is a guest MC along with WonYoung. She is seen multiple times flirting with the girl and with the other female idols she interviewed.

Many were angry at her blatant flirtation. Many people saw it as real, and the boycott train was racking up. August 9th, she was officially put on a short hiatus for the next two months, resuming her activities for MAXIDENT performances.

Pixie was allowed to make an official statement, much to JYPE's dismay. And what did she do?

She posted a picture of her on Instagram with a Bisexual flag. She writes in the captions:

Since you guys love to be nosy about what goes on in my personal life, yes I am Bisexual. However, I will not put my life on hold because people can't handle girls flirting with girls. I am NOT in a relationship with WonYoung. I am NOT in a relationship with a female idol. Leave my sexual life private, God damn.

August 18th, 2022 House fire incident Seriousness: 10/10

During her hiatus, she had gone home to stay with family. Her friends had stayed with her as well for a few days, just to stay with her family.

While she was gone to pick up her niece, a childhood friend turned Sasaeng had been so jealous she was spending all of her time with her family, he had lit her house on fire, effectively killing her parents and sister in law. The guys were not in the house at the time, which believed to be a good instinct.

The funeral took place after his immediate incarceration(he gave himself up in the name of "love"), and many reporters swarm the chapel to get a glimpse of the idol group that was invited.

Any sane person boycotted the media outlet after the blatant monetization they were trying to make of the situation. JYPE is currently in the middle of suing the outlet for emotional distress.

Now, Fei Bo and Fei Dio live in Seoul in a strict protection order given by JYPE and local enforcement. Pixie refuses to give out any information about her brother's wearabouts, as that what took her parents last time. At this time, they are not on any platform except as a guest in some Pixie instagram posts.

A new soloist by the name of GBam had printed and posted pictures around the JYPE building of her nudes she had when she was 15.

He was apprehended soon after and JYPE had to make a statement, knowing that if any one of the members had made one, they would have to be fired.

Since their dating ban had been lifted two years prior, they had officially announced their three year relationship by June 22nd, 2023. They had wanted to keep it as private as possible but since they announced their relationship, they became one of the most famous power couples.

Pixie had been wearing baggier clothing than what she originally had, and when she did a photoshoot for NIKE, many people could see she had gained a bit of weight. Especially where her uterus was.

Many people speculated she had gotten pregnant due to her relationship. She answered this during a instagram live the next day. She had laughed hysterically, before denying the claims.

"I am on my period, that's why i look more bloated recently. Yall are weird for wanting to have me wear more revealing clothing..." She proceeds to side eye them and end the live.

In France, she is photographed with Lisa and a few other female friends, one of which being her backup dancer. In the background, you could see a pregnancy test with a faint 'positive' sign. Because of this, many people were to jump on this.

To respond to this, she took a photo of her doctor's note(only leaving in her name and the results). She had gone to the doctor to get tested for pregnancy. She was not pregnant.

As ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Debuts To Strong Audience On Netflix, Creative Team Looks Ahead To Expanding Live-Action Adaptation

The results are in, and Netflix‘s Avatar: The Last Airbender seems to be a hit. 

The live action adaptation topped the streamer’s weekly English-language TV list with 21.2M views in its opening weekend. According to Netflix, it reached the Top 10 in 92 countries. It was edged out as most-watched title of the week by the Swedish natural disaster film The Abyss.

That’s a strong showing for the eight-episode series, which was another big swing for Netflix as it continues to dip its toes into anime-inspired content. In fact, Avatar managed to surpass One Piece in its debut weekend.

As with One Piece, Netflix was firing on all cylinders to launch the series, partnering with Serena Williams and even taking over the Las Vegas Sphere. So far, the Avatar global social campaign has reached 1.53B impressions, which is on par with both One Piece as well as Netflix’s hit series Wednesday. The main trailer alone has amassed 85M views to-date, while the #AvatarTheLastAirbender hashtag has generated 1B global views on TikTok in the past week.

Avatar marks Netflix’s second successful live-action anime adaptation, after a rocky start in the genre with its adaptation Shinichirō Watanabe‘s anime classic Cowboy Bebop. While die-hard fans of any animated series are likely to have a few things to say about their live-action counterparts, the streamer appears to be finding a groove when it comes to how to bring these stories to life on the small screen. 

“We’re trying to make a show for the most viewers possible. That doesn’t mean that there’s anything we’re gonna leave behind from the animated series. There’s not more purposeful deviations in order to make it acceptable for a broader audience,” Avatar executive producer and director Jabbar Raisani told Deadline. “I think it’s really attempting to be as faithful as humanly possible to the animated series, but also knowing that we have to fit it into this eight-episode, driving narrative that keeps us streaming.”

Other than missing story elements, which are obviously necessary when adapting from a 20-episode animated season of TV, one of the larger changes audiences might notice is the tone. 

“There inherently has to be a tonal shift as you’re moving towards live action, because things that work in anime won’t necessarily work with real people,” Raisani explained.

While animation can often boast a more exaggerated tone, that isn’t as possible when it comes to live action. 

“One of the things I did, specifically thinking of directing, was just working with the actors on different versions of the take. So with Sokka, with his humor, for example, we would do a version that was the flattest read, and then we would get more and more big and campy and over the top,” Raisani said. “Ian was great at giving a range. That allowed us in post to say, ‘Okay, let’s go funny’ or ‘We can go bigger’ or ‘Oh, man is now starting to break the tone and it feels cartoony. It doesn’t feel like he’s in the same show as everybody else.'”

Something viewers may notice remains faithful to the animated series is the dynamic camera movements, many of which came directly from the source material. 

Raisani described an Episode 4 scene where Aang backflips over a boulder. Not only does the scene come from the animated series, so does the shot used to capture it. 

“I literally just looked at the animated frame [and said], ‘Okay, we want to make this literal frame but with real people,” he said. 

It’s a bit preemptive to say whether the series will end up among Netflix’s most popular, since the series will have a 91-day premiere window and would need more than 83M views to achieve the feat. However, it certainly bodes well for a renewal. The good news is that the creative team appears to be chomping at the bit to expand the story and address anything that might have been missing from Season 1. 

“There’s stuff that we filmed that I love that isn’t in the show. There’s stuff that I love the idea of that we filmed and it just didn’t fit,” Raisani said. As a fan of the original animated series himself, he knows that audiences might be yearning for more than what they were able to fit into the first season.

“If we get another season, then we will certainly have those things, because I know what we missed now and I know how to do better the second time around,” he said, adding: “The animated series is a really good guide…for where the show can go.”

More specifically, Raisani said he’s already exploring new ways to shoot scenes that involve bending that would give the actor more agency on set and, in turn, make the final product feel more organic. He pointed to fire bending as one of the trickier elements to master, explaining that each actor had a light on their hands to emulate the fire, but they weren’t able to manipulate it themselves, which presented some restrictions. 

“If they could trigger their own bending… I think we would have a more seamless product,” he mused. “So stuff like that you’ve just got to try it and then you learn and then you do it again, but better than last time.”

Unless one is aware is a members birthday no one could tell bcs it was all silent even in the fandom,Personally I forgot to celebrate JK's birthday this year until so late that I saw some posts from fans. It was dead silent even on other socials that's why I didn't remember same as other birthday this year. But with jimins fandom started trending hashtags on twitter again occupying 23+ trends. But what I don't get is why this pjms spend so much money on birthday events everywhere in Korea is just about his birthday. That's an obsession and a weird one if you asked me. Again this year police are involved because of how much fans are crowded at his birthday events and magnate. I'm from Brazil and I have two friends who bonded a flight to Korea busan for jimin's birthday is that normal? Like I'm not saying they shouldn't do all this for Jimin but this looks like a mental obsession and infatuation. Here in Brazil majority of bts fans are all jimin biased so its a jiminland just like Korea. And I see the same crazy events here every jimtober.

In short, I don’t feel that it’s unhealthy to be personally attached to an artist or celebrity, and it can improve your life in several ways! In the same way that we’re fond of our favorite book or television characters, we can enjoy what celebrities offer us while remaining cognizant that the relationship is one-way and that it’s important not to invest too much time and energy into what is ultimately not a mutual bond.  

Additionally, remembering that celebrities are human as well is just as crucial. Idolizing them is incorrect, and it’s important to remember that they don’t have all the answers to your problems. Therefore, for the time that you spend interacting with a celebrity, try to spend a similar duration in your real-life relationships and participating in other activities that you enjoy. Jimin is one member of bts that's fans idolize the most! I never seen such obsession with other fans so why jimin? Why treat jimin like he's some god? People idolize Jimin so much to the point that it gets scary! Jimin is an amazing human,a talented sexy and pretty man,and so successful at his young age. He wouldn't be happy seeing how people idolize him.the obsession people have with him is unhealthy!

[FOUR YEARS AND AN ANIME!!!]

WE DID IT, EVERYONE!!! As of this week's chapter, Undead Unluck has officially been running for four whole years!!!

I don't recall, though, did UU take an extra week off at some point? It should be at 192...Ah well, it's not super important! We've officially hit the goal I've been asking for since day one, and I'm over the moon about it! The hashtag is no longer a wish for the future, but a celebration of success!

At the time, I did expect that it would end around now rather than merely approaching the final phase, but hell, I'm not complaining! I don't know if I necessarily want UU to hit the eight-year mark, it might start to feel like it's dragging by that point, but I also can't really imagine it doing that anyway

If we assume that we have five arcs left before Ragnarok (Top, Tatiana, Kururu, Backs, Ruin) and we generously assume that each is 10 chapters (only Rip and Latla's arc has lasted more than 10 since the loop), we should have at most another year until the final battle, though it likely won't even take that long since most of these recruitment arcs are more like 3-5 chapters per recruit. From there, the previous Ragnarok arc was about 40 chapters, so we'll overestimate again that the next one will last a full year

In other words, depending on how much Tozuka decides to take his time, I think we should be seeing UU running until June 2025 or January 2026! It's a bit sad to see the writing on the wall like that, but as far as I'm concerned, we're playing with house money right now! I'm glad that my favorite series turned out to be such a hit, and that it should get to resolve itself as it pleases! So few series get to go out on their own terms, I can't be upset when one of my favorites becomes one of the lucky ones!

Onto the chapter itself, this was such a cool fight! Andy holding off all ten of the Superior Rules by himself for three minutes is such a badass display of how far he's come, and shows us some cool ways he can use his soul techniques! We've heard of him using his soul to move his body before, using it to overcome Nico's copy of Unmove, but seeing him actively replacing his lost body parts with his soul?? Now that's sick!

100-Twist Vortex Bullet, Soul Vulcan, Soul Road...it's all derived from what we've seen, but all on a whole new level! Even the soul chains are taken straight from his fight with Ghost. It's like a perfect showcase of how far Andy's come in the last four years of serialization!

BUT! For how strong he is now, for how much stronger he apparently is than the rest of the team, he was only able to hold off the Superior Rules for three minutes. In other words, while you might think he's become an invincible one-man army that could do everything on his own, you would be absolutely wrong!!! He had to let the two weakest Superiors go to temporarily match #1 (who we can reasonably assume is UMA Soul), so while we can assume he'd be capable of facing Soul one-on-one, we also have to assume that Andy is still nowhere near Sun's level. It took everyone together to hold off Sun for 11 minutes, including Rebellion!Victor, and at least half of them died in the process. Andy, as he is now, could only hold off all ten Superiors for three; if he'd had to hold on for 11, they probably would have all escaped, and since we can assume that all ten together don't measure up to SUN, we can conclude that Andy is not so strong that he could solo Sun

Andy will be a tremendous asset to the final battle, but he will not be the single deciding factor. To beat Sun, it won't be enough to simply have everyone together, everyone will need to raise their level to be capable of at least soloing a Superior Rule like Andy did to Sick. In other words, Andy's display of power here isn't merely a way to tell us how strong Andy is now, but telegraphing how strong EVERYONE is going to be by the end!!! Even if they never quite make it to Andy's level, we can expect that our team is going to be absolutely made of monsters, and I! Can't! Wait!!!

It had been categorically two days from the annual ball and business that centred around you had developed into something heavier and diligent than you could’ve ever imagined, you were already an incredibly courted woman but it had seemed like the numbers of men that had wanted to entreat and propose to you had generously increased. Normally, you were used to viciously large numbers of attention but what you had been going through now was nothing compared to previous assiduity and heed.

Your mother was of course delighted to see the after effects of how well the annual ball year had been treating you along with your father, but you, yourself? You were unsure, even though you were normally an assured lady, the amount of absorption you have received had made you anxious about making the wrong move, moreover, had made you anxious in disappointing your family.

You had spent majority of your day getting ready by the help of your maids and other servants that mainly served you in your home, they had put you in one of your best gowns and hairstyles, every second you had felt one of them tug you by your hair or by your limb to get you into the perfect image the realm knew you as.

The dress they had put you in had light pink tones and the silhouette of the gown had made your waist appear thinner than it naturally was, the display was beautiful and quite simple but with the way your curls had framed your face, it had made your appearance elevate into the alluring and refined mask you have grown accustomed to. Your breast was pushed up to the heavens, howbeit the dress wasn’t as tight as the fabric you wore in the annual ball.

Currently, you had been accompanied by Jean Kirstein, a rich man who belonged to a kind-hearted family and was heir to the Kirstein mining bequest. You had always known Sir Kirstein to be a handsome man with his regal features and slightly long hair, he knew how to dress and had the charisma that would make any type of women blush and flutter under. He was not one of the first suitors to appear to you today and if you were being ingenuous, you were tired and wanted to sit down and eat cake, but you had commissions to conquest, it was the least you could do for your family.

Jean had belonged to a successful mining company in Oscaar, so your parents were blithe to hear about Sir Kirstein entering the van Richesse quads to court their daughter. However, when you saw, him be guided to your direction, you were in fact surprised to see him. “I’d say that you attempting to court me is quite tactful in your ends,” you commented, your hands were clasped behind your back and you had a smile written on your face while the side of your eyes checked the suitor who walked beside you.

Chiefly, the suitor who walked beside you was known for his interest in Lady Mikasa Ackerman, a cousin of Levi Ackerman, forthwith, she had lived in the country of Oscaar that was known for its great beaches, the country of Oscaar was also known for its great alliance with the du Aurous country. The two nations had been associated with each other ever since the First Great War and you had loved going there for holiday.

“Well, Lady Mikasa doesn’t have her sights on me as much as I do for her,” Jean kindly informed, his body had slightly twisted towards your direction and you could tell by the look of his face he had attempted to hide his hurt, “she’s been too infatuated with Sir Eren Yeager, that gripping man,” he silently uttered, his brief intel had commenced you to perk up the both of your eyebrows, briskly astonished by what you had been told.

Hastily, the moment you had shared with Eren two days ago in the annual ball had quickly brushed in your mind, how so you had wanted to forget what had happened but the way he had played and toyed with your clit had caused your cunt to pulse with greed. Quickly, you had tucked your bottom lips behind your teeth as you had attempted to make yourself forget and return to the conversation you had currently shared with Sir Kirstein, quickly, you had smiled, in efforts to also make him forget about what had made him capsized. “Well, Sir Kirstein, has there been other ladies that have caught your attention?”

The consultation had lasted for a few moments until one of the staff of the manor had sauntered towards you, their slim figure accompanied by a definite face that had Sir Kirstein automatically look down in respect. “Sir Ackerman has arrived Lady van Richesse,” the staff respectfully stated which had induced you to kindly bid Jean a farewell, before you joined Levi into a consultation; yet, before Jean had left, he had made sure he marked a kiss against the back of your right hand formerly leaving the grounds with the staff that had guided Mr. Ackerman to you.

“Jean Kirstein?” Levi thoughtfully pondered and without speaking you had beckoned your head in response to his brief ask, in thought, he had hummed in response ere, looking around the courts of the van Richesse garden, “I noticed how upset I left you the other day,” Levi dryly stated and without a verbal answer you had returned your clasp hands behind your back while accompanying the Ackerman.

The silence between the two of you was brief and to make sure he knew that you weren’t upset anymore, you gently smiled in his direction. “I got over it,” you dryly aided, you had then moved both of your closed hands in front of your stomach and straightened your back, you were being honest, you did get over it, the abundance of pleasure Eren had given you two days ago had walked forcibly over the dull emotions Levi had shortly left you in. Furthermore, you had conjectured why Levi had arrived to the van Richesse manor, did he come all the way to make you feel better? It did not really seem like something he would do, even if you had barely been familiar with him, you could tell Mr. Ackerman was not a man to come all the way to apologise.

“So why am I gifted with your presence good sir? Did you come all the way to make sure I wasn’t upset?” You curiously questioned, by some means knowledgeable that your question wasn’t after a fashion correct. Amused, Levi glanced away from you, his smile cramped but bona fide.

“I didn’t know Jean Kirstein was a suitor,” he placidly restored, deliberately avoiding your question, miffed, you had bucked both of your eyebrows upwards but decided not to comment his calculated avert.

“I didn’t know he would be one of my suitors as well, knowing how he has his sights on your cousin, Mikasa,” you truthfully informed, your face stamped with a jocose smile, “but Sir Kirstein said that she doesn’t feel the same way as him, so now he’s trying to court me.”

“Well do you like him?”

Undaunted you gently bounced your shoulders; you have known Jean Kirstein for quite some time but you never really considered yourself to be romantically attracted to him. “Well, he’s handsome and charismatic but that’s all I can say for now.”

“Lady van Richesse!”

Erwin Smith’s figure slowly unblurred into the both of your visions, his shape optimistic and proud, once the tall man recognised the dark-haired brute that stood beside you, he had attentively beckoned his head in deference. “Mr. Ackerman, good to see you,” his eyes shape-fully inquisitive to why Levi Ackerman had been in the van Richesse courts, it had been established that Mr. Ackerman was not looking for marriage so truthfully, he had been taking up the time other men who were engrossed for marriage could’ve been in.

“Sir. Smith,” Levi kindly greeted, the stance between the two of them, you could discern that both of the gentlemen might’ve known each other thoroughly.

It took small gestures for Levi to understand that Erwin had wanted to accompany you for now, he was quick to switch places with the Smith man and he had barely bid the both of you a goodbye, you had pressed your lips into a thin line, slowly becoming familiar with how coarse the shorter man could be. “We’ve known each other since University, he is one of the smartest men I know, but incredibly impolite when he feels like it.”

“Noted,” you dryly chuckled, sincerely, you did not want to see Levi leave, verily, no matter how blunt and straightforward he was, you liked his presence. Mayhap, it was his deep voice, dry humour and steel blue eyes or perhaps it was just due to how vehement and carnal you thought him to be.

“I’ve been told today has been very busy for you, Lady van Richesse, I already knew you were heavily cultivated but the number of men that have arrived to see you today has made me even more competitive than I naturally am, should’ve expected it from the Realm’s Diamond,” he calmly spoke, however, no matter how calm he attempted to display himself, there was a slight shakiness to his tone that had delineated that he was slightly bothered.

In spite of his bugged demeanour, Erwin had sleekly smiled and it seemed that his eyebrows had lives of their own as the two pieces furrowed down making his face seem more animated than it usually was, respectfully you had held in your laughter and stayed curious to what he was going to say. “What makes it worse is that you’re not clear on who you’re going to pick, but I know for sure you’re not going to pick Sir. Argent.”

Indecently you had burst into laughter, everyone with working eyes or ears could tell that you did not like Sir. Argent, moreover, it was clear to everyone that the over-sized man would be nowhere found in your list of men you’d likely pick. “You never know he’s quite the charmer,” you dryly exaggerated.

“If he’s one of your top three suitors then that means I have to get my star quality up,” he promptly delivered, barrenly you laughed and continued to jaunt down the healthy grass of the garden, time had passed within the interval you shared with Erwin Smith, and during your shared time with him you couldn’t stop thinking about the Ackerman who had presented himself to you a couple of moments ago, compared to Levi, Erwin was a fresh breath of air and hadn’t made you feel as intense as darker styled man.

Furthermore, Erwin was the last suitor for the day and you had been relieved to finally be left alone, you had quickly made way to the path of your home building and had noticed that the night lights had been afire for the people who were still outside. You couldn’t wait to take off your garment and rest against your cot, perhaps you would even slip in a moment where you’d please yourself, it normally helps yourself feel better.

“[Y/N]?”

Tired, you had curved your body to the owner of the voice, your state too exhausted to make note to who labelled you. On the other hand, you could tell that this person wasn’t from your home, and what had made you slightly alert was that they had called you from a first name basis, only your closest ones or the imperial of du Aurous called you by your first name.

“Sir Argent, how did you get in here?”

Your eyes wide, his appearance had jolted you to be alert, you hadn’t expected it but you had felt a rush of fear speed through your nerves. You had looked around the atmosphere, pondered who allowed Sir. Argent into the van Richesse grounds, perhaps it was your intuition that had grasped the nearing danger, and you were an inch close for calling for guards. “I was doing business with your father,” you had held back your snort, no matter how much you loved your father, you disliked the fact that he was willing to do business with anyone, yet you kept your reaction and thoughts to yourself, protective over yourself, you had hugged your body then gently looked the Argent man up and down.

“It’s late,” you shortly replied, “you should be going back to the home you’re staying at for now,” you kindly suggested, as you slightly twisted your body to return to the direction of your chambers you gently beckoned your head towards Sir. Argent’s route then took a couple of steps away from your current spot.

“Today must’ve been very tiring for you,” Sir. Argent directly commented and lightly you sighed.

“It has been, so I wish for you to you allow me to get some sleep for tomorrow,” you curtly replied.

“I know what you did with Eren Yeager at the night of the annual ball.”

Fuck.

Your intuition was correct, you had sensed the danger the moment you observed it was Sir. Argent who had called you; and knowing the type of man he is, he would be the type to spread gossip if something did not go his way. “If word gets out that you’ve been defiled by Eren Yeager, you’ll no longer be perceived as the Realm’s Diamond.”

“The realm will not listen to a fat and greedy person like you,” you rudely retorted.

“But they’ll listen to a man,” he delivered.

Speechless, you had watched him move closer to you, his gaze malicious and intentions impure, “your value will go down and all the suitors that you have in your palm will disappear one by one.”

Angry you had gazed up at him, you could feel your stomach churn by the gaze and scent of that belonged to him, but you had to keep up your confident stance, your fists clenched you had once again looked him up and down. “What are you playing at?” You seethed, your nose had flared during the moment you had tried to hold back your tears, all the hard-work gone down the drain, all because of this incompetent man.

“I’ll give you the choice to marry me,” he simply answered, “and if you do, I won’t say anything and live by the fact that you are impure and had allowed your cherry to be popped by an inefficient man. I’ll be generous and give you two weeks to make up your mind, but for the sake of yourself and for your family. I hope you make the correct choice,” his speech ended with an achieved smile, he was quick to bop your nose with his right index finger, his face so close to yours, you had sworn he had aimed to kiss you, but he didn’t, him not kissing you was the only relief you had felt within the conversation he shared with you.

Moreover, within the five next seconds he had finally left, leaving you in a conflicting mess, never you had felt so threaten by an outsider due to the usual protection you’d receive from your parents, howbeit, with the intel he was willing to spread you knew you wouldn’t gain the protection your parents would normally give to you but the pressure to marry Sir. Argent.

ROTTMNT Leo x GN/Rabbit Yokai!Reader

Warnings: Fluff, Embarrassment, Aged-up Turtles

Synopsis: You've been visiting Run Of The Mill Pizza maybe a little too often just to see the blue clad turtle of your affections and draw him. You're pretty sure he hasn't noticed you at all, bad news for you, he has and he is far too curious about why you watch him.

A/N: First things first, I am just getting back into writing so sorry if the pacing is off or theres any small inconsistencies! I'm definitely going to do my best going forward. If there's any spelling errors, just know I write from my phone primarily so its inevitable (sometimes I go through and re-edit after posting just to feel something). As well if any of the characters are written slightly out if character it's because I've never written any of them before so this is a learning curve. Also! I’m tagging this fic with the hashtag “#Tmnt Muse Fic” so if you’re looking for updates either check my blog directly or that tag :) ALSO, This is a repost from my old side blog since I wanted to make a main blog for this stuff. Anyway, I'm just here to have fun! So! With that being said, let's get going, shall we?:

You had been calmly seated in a booth at Run of the Mill Pizza, glancing around occasionally and drawing the people that sat in the other booths. The thing was, however, you were waiting for your favourite muse who often came here with his three brothers.

Just the thought of the blue clad turtle set your heart a flutter, and when you finally saw him come into the restaurant with the other colour coded turtles, you couldn't help but sigh under your breath, staring dreamily in his direction. 

It took you a moment to get yourself under control and soon you found yourself eyeing the group as they chattered away with Señor Hueso on their way towards a booth in a further away corner than you would have liked, but nonetheless you were happy to have caught sight of them. 

Grabbing your trusty navy blue conte pencil, you angled yourself in your seat just right and began sketching the red eared slider who had long since won your heart even if you'd never actually interacted before beyond almost bumping into each other once a few months back. You were a simple rabbit yokai after all, and you couldn't help your feelings. 

You were careful and precise with your actions, eyes flicking up to your muse often as you drew him, absolutely losing yourself in the process.

The sketchbook you used was already chalk full of many studies of the turtle and each and every one of them seemed to be greatly improved from the last. 

Something you were grateful for in the few months of this was that he had never noticed what you were doing. You, after all, assumed it might make him uncomfortable that you drew him every time he happened to enter your line of sight.

Though, in a way, you were also disheartened by this news. A part of you- the part that wasn't afraid of his immediate rejection- longed for his eyes to fall on you. You imagined the gaze would be warm and friendly. 

Having lost yourself in the details of your sketches by adding some slight shading and rich red conte wherever necessary, you didn't notice that the slider had come over until it was too late and he was leaned forward on your table looking at you, with amusement. To your advantage, however, your sketchbook was perfectly just out of his view. 

Clearing his throat, the man watched you jump in surprise and slam the book against your chest so hard it nearly knocked the wind out of you. "So, are you just going to keep watching me every time I come in here, or are you actually gonna talk to me?" He asked, tone somewhat smug and amused. 

Eyes flitting between his face and the tabletop with your half eaten pizza, you began to fidget, swallowing thickly at the question. He had noticed?! Of course he noticed- you had never exactly been the most secretive while watching him- 

Waving his hand in front of your face as he noticed the way you'd seemingly frozen up, the slider cocked a brow bone. "Uh- hello? Did I lose you?" 

"You noticed?" You blurted the question out without a moment's thought, shoulders raised in a tense manner.  That had not been what you wanted to say to him, in fact, you had wanted to apologize for possibly making him uncomfortable all this time, and yet you couldn't get anything else out. 

Giving you a confused look, the turtle pieced together that you were stuck on that particular detail and chuckled. "I know, I'm so observant. Thank you, thank you!" He offered with a light chuckle, but soon added a more serious, "okay okay, when you have three brothers, at least one of them is going to point out when someone is staring at you constantly. I did notice it happening on my own at first though!" He rambled absently.

You groaned and tucked your face into your hands, hiding the steadily heating skin from his gaze. 

Deciding to take the chair directly across from you and spin it around so he could sit on it backwards and rest his arms on the back to use as a head rest, the turtle spoke up again, "so, you gonna explain why you stare so much? I mean, I know I'm hot, but I didn’t assume I was "the most distractingly hot guy in the room" hot." 

"I just- no reason." You blurted dumbly, barely peeking up at him through your long ears which had flopped into your face from the position you had ended up in, curled over yourself. 

"Sure... and that's why you hid that book of yours the moment you noticed me?" 

"Yes..?" 

"And Donnie calls me a bad liar." He snickered under his breath. "But for real, are you actually not going to show me?" 

Grimacing, you try and force yourself to relax. "Nope. You'd have to kill me and then deal with my spirit to be able to look." 

The bluntness of your delivery caused the slider to breakdown laughing, wiping an imaginary tear from his eye. "I will see whatever it is some day." 

"Keep dreaming." You blurt, your mind already racing at the implication of him actively talking with you again.

"Ooo, I like that, the bunny has a bit of bite to them." He teases, standing up slowly. "I'm Leo, by the way, in case you were curious." 

You went to reply, still mildly surprised with the situation, but just as you manage to offer your name in reply, he's already walking back to his table and all you can do is stare at his carapace. "I'm... y/n-" 

You set the book back on the table, setting your conte pencils neatly on top of it, running over the conversation in your head over and over again. 

When you eventually get home you're still reeling, entirely unsure of what to do with yourself.

“Did you get that piercing for whoever you took the photo for?” Your thumbs shake over the dimmed glass screen of your phone as you lay on your bed in the dark, debating on hitting send. Blackout curtains drawn to deepen the pitch black even though you know there’s still a few more hours of sunlight left.

You can’t even scroll Twitter in peace anymore without seeing him despite how you’d filtered his name from any content the algorithm was set to recommend to you. You’d thought of blocking out their band name but you still held love for his band mates, still liked to see their successes on something you watched them work so hard for. You didn’t think you’d be blasted with a reposted nude of your ex boyfriend under the hashtag of his bands name as well as the atrocious #demoninthesheets.

Vision blurring temporarily as the sting of fresh tears well in your waterline before you swipe aggressively to keep them from falling.

How many times will you cry over the same thing? Torture yourself by reopening that year old wound instead of properly healing and moving on? Throwing yourself into work hasn’t been enough

You don’t want to talk to him, to Gyuutaro, again; at least that’s what you tell yourself even though you hover over the mocking illuminated blue send button. Thumb tremoring before long and it seals your fate for you but some sort of fated mistake, calling that to absolve yourself of more guilt even though it already sits heavy on your chest. You’d known hitting send wouldn’t lessen the weight by any means but you’ve grown used to the pain.

Accustomed to it, you’d think you’d miss it if it were gone. It’s been the only constant for you anyway since your relationship fell apart with the lead singer and longtime boyfriend. But he was more than that, more than just a talent to the music industry. He was everything.

The boy you’d found in the alleyway outside of your apartment at such a tender age along with his much younger sister, starving, dirty and cold. Welcoming them into your life with ease, growing with them. An older sister to Ume by proxy before stepping into the roll of her mother as you’d grown into your teen years. You and Gyuutaro emancipating yourselves and moving into a too large home for one other orphaned man, building a family with bonds stronger than blood while you two grew closer. Making promises for the future while sharing all the pivotal firsts in your life with him.

First crush, first love, first boyfriend, first time; so in some cruelly comical fashion it’s fitting that he’d become your first heartbreak too.

Torn to shreds as other women began to give him the attention that only you had poured so lovingly into him for most of his life. Lusting for the physical attributes about himself that Gyuutaro had always hated, brazen comments at first regardless of the copious amount of photos with you in them all of his socials held. Insulting advancements made on him with flagrant disregard for the obsidian band he refused to take off despite still only being engaged.

You swipe at your bleary eyes again, shaking your head with an aggressive growl at yourself to stop it, it doesn’t matter anymore but the lie just reverberates within the echo chamber of tormenting thoughts. Mockingly chiming alongside every admission to immense affection Gyuutaro had filled your empty head with.

I love you, te amo, aishiteru. A lie in every language.

Laughing wryly to yourself over the thought as you watch the delivered notification shift into its read time stamp before foreboding bubbles bounce for a moment. A response coming through soon after.

“Whaddya want me to say?”

Good question, it’s not like you even really meant to send it. Staring at his name in your phone with the useless little stop sign emoji next to it as if that would halt every impulsive desire to speak to him whether it was good or bad. Forgoing deleting his contact because you know it by heart, you’d instinctively repeat it and worsen the need to send a text from the fear of forgetting it.

“Nothin I guess lol” that it was for you maybe? That’d be pretty fucking stupid though.

The bubbles bounce and bounce and bounce on for what feels like ages. You’re worried he’ll send a block of text, worried he’ll be another aggressive voice you’ll hear to repeat every insecurity you’ve had but they disappear completely after a long moment. Heart in your throat and as soon as you sigh and place your phone face down onto your deflating air mattress it vibrates with a new notification.

“Can I call? It’s gettin taken down”

You want to, you do, you want to hear the voice that’s always comforted you and put you at ease but right now your company is that weighted pain in your chest. That ache that spreads slowly into each limb and it’ll feel numb before long, no need to exacerbate the throb any further when you’re already past the initial sting.

“Probably not a good idea,” I don’t wanna hear whatever girl is with you now stays left unsent. Backspaced quickly, typing it out was cathartic enough. He’d really call you then, again and again until you answered, “maybe later. I’m gonna take a nap.”

You sleep so much now, he knows later never comes but it wasn’t the first time he asked it won’t be the last but you assume maybe it will.

“Call me when you wake up? I wanna talk.”

Sending him a curt sure before silencing the device before tossing it to the floor and turning to face the wall, curling within yourself. Hoping you won’t dream of what once was and what could’ve been.

Beth's Diary #1: Before The Storm

Hello and this is Beth's diary "hashtag one". I'm currently working as a guitar technician in Portland, Oregon. I constantly feel like I'm at the wrong place driving on the wrong lane of my dreams, you see, my whole family is from LA and everybody knows I wanted to become a profissional writer since high-school. I have skills for writting any kinds of stuff. From poetry to song lyrics, from short stories to novels. I even started a project for a Netflix tv-show with the help of a senior/war veteran about his life in the army. It was actually a comedy full of good fortune. I'm excellent on starting new projects but horrible to conclude them. And well, here I am now, brought by destiny, to LA! After a full night of work and partying. It's raining like crazy and I love it. It helps refreshing my memory and mind. It's alot going on concerning my internal battles. I'm near my youngest sister's home and I catch myself in a crossroad: You see, it's been a long time since I've been trying to prove myself and value to my family, the world and I. But when I say family, I only mean my youngest sister. My parents are separated and they're nuts. Dad was an alcoholic and mom is a drug addict. Even though me and Ellie tried SO hard to get a better life, forced into some part-time job becoming a full-time career - so to speak - there are just too many scars of life that holds us down somehow. Ellie might be the youngest, but she still the strongest. Always has the right answers to everything. Perhaps she got the turn around she deserved when she had her 3rd child, Kassie. Oh sweet Kassie, that cute little blondie angel she is. I miss her so much. I like to give her the best influence I can give her. My heart was beating differently to the rythm of the drums, few minutes ago at the live show. My life just took an unexpected turn tonight as I discovered I'm pregnant. This revelation sent me shockwaves to all my senses, including my burning eyes.

I'm completely unsure of how to navigate this chapter of my life and here's a toast to the worst case scenario, coz I'm doing this alone as I don't know exactly who or where the father is.

That's it. I'm gonna need Ellie's help to figure this one out. Again. I'm calling an uber L.A.X. to get there. *Beth leaves the pub and gets in the car while getting all wet by the heavy rain. Beth decides to make a quick stop at a shop to buy Kassie a gift and her father too. For Kassie, a nice bracelet for badass rock chicks only. As for Kassie's father, a toilet shape coffee mug with a saying ''Lazy man's beer mug". She laughed so hard when she spotted that one. Back in the uber driver's car, she can't help but feel a twinge of envy towards Ellie. Watching her youngest sister effortlessly juggle the responsibilities of motherhood while maintaining a stability and a sense of grace left Beth feeling weak and lonely.*

Beth swallowed her pride mixed with crying and sobbing and leaned on her faith of her sister's support. "Thanks for the ride!" I said, before getting off of the car. The heavy rain was the least of my problems at that moment. I didn't feel myself uncomfortable about the thousands of drops of water more than the life growing inside of me by each second that passed. I look up to the sky and I see the building she lives in. So tall and painted in red. Kind of gave me the creeps when coincidentally a thunder struck the sky. "Come on Beth, look alive" - said that to myself as I ring the door bell. I hear she yelling at the kids who were supposed to open the door for her. As she approaches the door, I take a step back. There's Ellie looking to the other corner of the coridoor, confused. I do a sneaky move and go near her while she's on her back to me. She slightly turns: "BOO!"

another thought/question/invitation to ramble! I was wondering if you have any thoughts on the TV interview clip? There's a lot going on in there in terms of it being, as far as I remember, the only content of "past Wally" we have interacting face-to-face with a Physical Human Person so far. But specifically...am I the only one who is Really Weirded Out by the host asking Wally about his love life? Just the tone and the way he chuckles afterwards hit my arospec autistic brain right in the "no no no no bad" zone because like!!

it's not Bad to think about children show's characters in romantic relationships! Wally is an adult. He's a very childish person, but he's a grown man who could very well talk about and share his experiences in that department, as it were. But it's the context of this being like the first thing the man asks him combined with how confused and Uncomfortable Wally sounds until Barnaby comes on stage. Like why is the first thing this guy wants to know about this little puppet "hey are you dating anyone?". why not ask him about oh I dunno, how he's adjusting to the "celebrity lifestyle", or ask about his hobbies outside of painting or whatever else he does on the show?

Why did this man see a little puppet and instantly jump to asking about who he is smooching or getting dirty with. It's just such! an odd thing! by far the most subtly unsettling part of the site so far and I'd Love to hear your thoughts on it, if any

that's funny, i feel like i was one of the only people who Wasn't all that bothered by that? like, it's definitely not an interview question i would have thought to ask wally, especially as an opener (although it does sound like they had been talking for a while beforehand before rick was like "SO WHO ARE YOU MACKIN' ON") but in in-character interviews for the muppets (which this recording was very clearly a reference to) they did actually ask about the characters' love lives quite a bit, ESPECIALLY kermit's, regardless of whether or not it would have been considered a little trashy to ask the same of human celebrities.

i do think the whole interview serves to highlight how much wally is... Not a kermit-like, though (at least, not the way kermit was characterized in the 70s.) wally isn't really one for dry wit or discussing the intricacies of show biz; pretty much all of his lines in that interview seem like either him just saying what he thinks and then playing along when the audience thinks he's doing a bit OR him falling back on a script when he doesn't know what to say/has learned that A Specific Phrase tends to go over well with people. and yeah, obviously it reads a lot like a Hashtag Autism And/Or Acearospec Moment, but it's also kind of what i mean when i propose the question "is it that the wally we see now is that different from the one we see in official welcome home media in-universe, or is it just that his situation has gotten much worse since welcome home's heyday?" (assuming we're operating on the terms of linear time and not any extradimensional bullfuckery like the "welcome home may not have even Existed" theory would suggest.) wally may be aware that welcome home is a show, or at least that it was created for Us, but it's also his whole life. that's a lot to grapple with, especially in the middle of a conversation with someone who only really seems to acknowledge the first half of that sentence. of course, it's likely that this is because rick doesn't actually know that wally is sentient/aware/what have you; like as far as he's concerned, he's just doing a really good bit with the guy puppeteering wally, but that depends on whether or not anyone knows who the puppeteer is, and that's something we don't have enough info to get into right now. but like, obvious metaphor for subtle dehumanization is obvious, right?

Shortly after news broke Monday of a fatal shooting at a private Christian Nashville elementary school, police said the suspect was transgender. This detail, according to trans people in the state, has poured fuel on an already combustive environment that has led many of them to fear for their safety.

Police say Audrey Hale, who was killed by responding officers, fatally shot three 9-year-old students and three staffers at The Covenant School. Though police have said there is no known motive for the shooting, some conservatives have blamed the shooting on the suspect’s gender identity.

Within 10 minutes of police saying that the suspect was transgender, the hashtag #TransTerrorism trended on Twitter. Around the same time, Republican lawmakers — including Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, and conservative firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga. — insinuated in social media posts that the shooter’s gender identity played a role in the shooting. And by Tuesday morning, the cover of the Rupert Murdoch-owned New York Post read: “Transgender killer targets Christian school.”

“We are terrified for the LGBTQ community here,” Kim Spoon, a trans activist based in Knoxville, Tennessee, said. “More blood’s going to be shed, and it’s not going to be shed in a school.”

Denise Sadler, a drag performer who is transgender, said she had already hired four armed guards before Monday’s shooting to secure a drag show she is hosting at a gay bar in Nashville this weekend. Following the anti-trans rhetoric spawned by the shooting, Sadler said she is now planning to hire eight.

“You don’t know if [the shooter’s gender identity] is going to trigger a community of people who already hated us to come and try to shoot us to prove a point,” Sadler said. “At the end of the day, there’s a lot of hurt going on, there’s a lot of anger going on, there’s a lot of confusion going on.”

During a press conference Tuesday, Nashville Police Chief John Drake said a motive for the shooting was still unknown. The day prior, however, his response when asked if Hale’s identity was connected to the motive left the door open to speculation.

“There is some theory to that,” Drake said. “We’re investigating all the leads.”

It is also unclear how police knew that the suspect was transgender.

Trans men are assigned female at birth and identify as men, while trans women are assigned male at birth and identify as women. When asked Monday whether Hale was a trans man or trans woman, Drake said “woman,” though Hale’s LinkedIn account and interviews with those who knew Hale indicate otherwise.

Bill Campbell, the headmaster of The Covenant School from 2004 to 2008, said Hale attended the school as a child in 2005 and 2006 and identified as female during that time. As an adult, though, it appears Hale may not have identified as female. Hale’s LinkedIn page, which has since been removed, states that Hale used “he” and “him” pronouns. And a friend of Hale’s, Averianna Patton, who said Hale messaged her shortly before the shooting, said Hale signed the message “Aubrey (Aiden),” using Hale’s given name along with a traditionally male name.

Aislinn Bailey, the acting president of Tri-Cities Transgender, a trans-led support and advocacy group based in Johnson City, Tennessee, said her initial reaction to news that the suspect was transgender was fear.

“I knew that as soon as anyone mentioned that, it was immediately going to become the center focus instead of what should be the focus, and that’s gun violence in this country,” Bailey said.

She condemned the choice by police to release information about the suspect’s gender identity when they did not appear certain about it.

“I think it was unethical and highly suspect that information like that, which they had to have known could cause backlash on the trans community — releasing information like that without it being verified, that’s unconscionable as far as I’m concerned,” Bailey said.

She added, “We were already fearing for our lives. Now, it’s even worse.”

Over the last several years, historic numbers of bills targeting LGBTQ people have been introduced in state legislatures across the country, including in Tennessee’s. This year, state lawmakers filed more than 400 such bills — more than half of them targeting trans people specifically — according to the American Civil Liberties Union and a separate group of researchers who are tracking the flow of legislation.

So far this year, Tennessee lawmakers passed two bills targeting LGBTQ people: A first-of-its-kind law that will criminalize some drag performances takes effect Saturday, and another that will ban gender-affirming care for the state’s minors becomes effective July 1.

Nathan Higdon, the chief financial officer of Knoxville Pride Center, is helping organize protests against the new drag law in Nashville and Knoxville this upcoming weekend. Higdon said that while he and other organizers are “scared shitless” that the conservative backlash over the shooter’s suspected gender identity will prompt violence, they’re going forward with the events as planned.

“The people who hate us are always going to hate us,” Higdon said. “We can’t not do these things. We just can’t not show up.”

Threats and attacks of violence directed at the LGBTQ community have spiked recently, with drag performances becoming a particularly popular target.

Last year, there were at least 140 incidents of protests and threats directed at drag events, which have deep roots in the queer community, according to the LGBTQ advocacy group GLAAD.

Just last week, one man was arrested and another was left bloodied as dozens of people protested a Drag Story Hour event in New York City, and on Sunday, an Ohio church alleged on its Instagram account that it had been vandalized with Molotov cocktails after advertising that it would be hosting a Drag Story Hour event in April.

Jace Wilder, the education director for the Tennessee Equality Project, a Nashville-based LGBTQ advocacy group, said the suspect’s gender identity “does not change the horror of what they did no matter their reasoning.”

“It is unfair and inappropriate to ask trans people to speak on this person and the lives they took,” Wilder said in a message to NBC News. “We, just like all other Tennesseans, are mourning. There is no politics I could possibly care about right now when children are dead. End of story. I pray and will stand with the families of all the victims and for peace for our community and I hope we can all show up for them and each other in this time.”
