Say Goodbye to the Past: 5 Tips for a Brighter Future
Saying goodbye to the past is often the first step towards creating a brighter future. Letting go of old hurts, regrets, and disappointments can be challenging, but it is essential for personal growth and happiness. In this article, we'll explore five proven tips to help you leave your past behind and embrace the promising possibilities of tomorrow.
Embrace Acceptance:
The journey towards moving on begins with acceptance. Acceptance involves acknowledging the reality of your past and making peace with it. Instead of dwelling on what could have been or should have been, focus on accepting things as they are. By embracing acceptance, you free yourself from the burden of resentment and regret, paving the way for a brighter future.
Practice Forgiveness:
Forgiveness is a powerful tool for letting go of the past and moving forward. Whether it's forgiving yourself or others, releasing resentment and anger is essential for your emotional well-being. Remember, forgiveness is not about condoning past actions; it's about freeing yourself from the emotional weight of the past. By practicing forgiveness, you open yourself up to new opportunities and experiences.

Live in the Present Moment:
The past is gone, and the future has yet to unfold. Focus on living in the present moment, fully embracing the opportunities and experiences that come your way. Mindfulness practices such as meditation, deep breathing, and gratitude can help you stay grounded and connected to the here and now. By living in the present moment, you free yourself from the grip of the past and create space for joy and fulfillment in your life.
Set Boundaries:
Moving on may require you to set boundaries with people or situations that no longer serve you. Whether it's distancing yourself from toxic relationships or limiting exposure to negative influences, setting boundaries is essential for your emotional well-being. Remember, it's okay to prioritize your happiness and protect your peace of mind. By setting boundaries, you create a supportive environment that nurtures your growth and development.

Seek Support:
Finally, don't be afraid to seek support from friends, family, or a professional therapist. Surround yourself with people who uplift and encourage you on your journey towards a brighter future. Therapy can provide you with valuable tools and insights to navigate the challenges of letting go and embracing change. Remember, you don't have to go through this journey alone. Reach out for support and guidance as you say goodbye to the past and step into a brighter future.
Understand This:
Saying goodbye to the past is a transformative journey that requires courage, self-reflection, and resilience. By embracing acceptance, practicing forgiveness, living in the present moment, setting boundaries, and seeking support, you can pave the way for a brighter future. Remember, the past does not define you, and the future holds endless possibilities. Say goodbye to the past and embrace the promising possibilities of tomorrow.

You ask the universe for growth and change, and it turns your life inside out and you mistake it as punishment or some type of dark period? Relax. Growth and change comes with unfamiliarity and uncertainty, so trust what you asked for is coming, let things unfold for you.

feel like morgan/lucina is kinda underrated like i get why. but also like… duuude… take it from lucinas perspective: the kid of the fell god that betrayed your father turns against you despite years and years of friendship and most definitely knowing eachother since birth (do you honestly think chrom and robin wouldnt set their kids up on play dates immediately? really??) and despite how much you love them you know they’re beyond saving and you have to leave them behind to succumb to grima when you go back in time to save the world, accepting that youll never see them again! oh shit buts whats this… they show up in the past anyways? having forgotten all the time you spent together, the trouble they caused, everything you meant to them? but its them, its morgan and for the first time in years youre able to see them again happy, carefree, and in complete control! should you feel sad? scared? overjoyed? i dont know! but slap some yuri on that and you got a crazy ass little sideplot all im saying!!!

I wanted to see your LCSYS take on the differences in the prisoners' uniforms in the Milgram Hallucination event:
The outfits all zip in the front, even those that wouldn't in the art. Shugo wears a coat instead of a cape. Ryota doesn't have half of his uniform tucked in. Minami is wearing a skirt under her costume. (Hi Nott!) Maybe I missed some.
Hmm, that's a neat detail! Because presumably they'd have their uniforms on hand, and they should just wear those. The fact that they had to create new ones leads to a few possibilities: 1. Milgram didn't realize what a hit the songs would be, and figured they wouldn't need these random straightjackets anymore. They got rid of them after the experiment, 2. Milgram gave the prisoners their uniforms to keep and they're the ones that threw them out, not caring to remember their life of restraints, or 3. Milgram does actually face some real-world consequences for being incredibly shady, and all their possessions are currently being investigated by the government. I personally think option 3 is funniest, and enjoy picturing Jackalope planning a live concert and selling merch while simultaneously trying to cover up a huge potential scandal/legal battle behind the scenes asdfsdf.
Amane's case is slightly different, since hers has to do with her own clothes. I like to think it'd be a sign of her leaving her old life behind and starting over. When Mahiru takes her in, (with Amane's permission,) she completely replaces her wardrobe to remove any painful memories that may be attached. There are a few things she liked too much to part with, maybe including her purple hat :) When it's time to perform, Jackalope offers to find her a skirt just like her original, but she prefers to do without it.

Okay, the little “History is…” talk in the new Amelia Project is making me emotional. Because, as a history buff, my absolute favourite part of history IS the people and the individual stories! One of my favourite things is to read the correspondences of people who never thought that their stories would ever be worth telling or would be important to the historical record.
“History is just wars and dates.”
“No. It’s people! It’s like… it’s like… what is it like? It’s like reading sci-fi but instead of the future it’s the past. But it’s still all stories and cultures and people and they’re different and you never really meet any of them-“
It’s such a lovely way of putting it. And, as Kozlowski points out, the past is still tangible and still impacts and exists in our modern world. Even if it bears little resemblance to what it once was 100 or even 500 years ago. Wars and dates are how we categorise the past, what we define eras by. But it does not give an accurate representation of the living, human parts of the world. How people still played practical jokes, how cultures were evolving or clinging to stay alive, or how for all of time people have always been here just as we are now. Just in different settings. And you know what, that’s beautiful.
The past is horrific and brutal and ugly. It’s also inspiring and worth remembering the stories that make it all up, the threads in the tapestry that is continuing to be woven. It’s about significant names such as Moliere and his death but it SIMULTANEOUSLY about the joy of that one day you found the perfect waffle.

Narmada and her sister Sharika are the daughters of prominent Tamil feminist and human rights activist Rajini Thiranagama, who was murdered when they were children. Every time they speak of her I move away from grief that her life was so brutally cut short, to joy that she spent those years living a life more full of light and love than many can fit into a hundred. Nothing can compare to the legacy of being remembered this way by your children.

Thoughts on the hc that Dazai has a glass eye?
I'm just imagining Dazai getting injured on a case on his blind side, and Kunikida berates him and drags him to Yosano.
And Yosano is like "Really, again? How did it happen this time?" And Kunikida says "Idiot wasn't paying attention."
Dazai "No I was, its just my blind side."
And they both freak out because why? How? Huh? But his eye looks fine?
Yosano: Well, I can schedule an appointment and we can see if we can get you surgery or something-
Dazai: Oh its unsalvagable, I'm blind on that side.
Kunikida: Why does your eye look fine then??? (He thinks Dazai is fucking with him)
Dazai just smiles, reaches up and pull the glass eye out. Kunikida screams.
- Goblin anon
Oh my gosh alsksjdjfjf honestly I think this hc is great just for that potential moment of screaming confusion on Kunikida’s part, Dazai absolutely would do that XD
I guess in general I haven’t thought much about the implications of Dazai bandaging that eye! I know I’ve definitely seen fics and stuff where his vision is off in that eye in one way or another (@feralrookie wrote a fantastic soulmate AU where Dazai’s soulmark is on that eye and it gutted me in the best way). I think it’s really fun to see where different people go with it :0
I do think it’s interesting that he swaps which eye he bandages in the Beast universe…that feels like it has Implications but I’m not sure what they are, I’m not very skilled at analysis lol —Although, slightly related, I do love the moment in the Dark Era where Oda pulls those bandages off as he dies, because it seems like a visual representation of how much Dazai was hindering himself in the mafia (seriously, if there isn’t anything wrong with that eye, that means the dude was shooting guns without precise depth perception seemingly just for the heck of it) and then Oda pulls them off as he tells him to go live in the light and just aaaaaaaaaaaaa I am never not going to be emotional about the dark era ;;
…anyway this got off topic, basically all this to say I think that I think it’s cool how many different interpretations of it there are, and you could definitely do a lot with the glass eye headcanon alskjdjdjd

You know what? I live for the Black Widow AU that I saw floating around some time ago (I don't know if it's still a thing). It's such an interesting concept, and it got me thinking of another AU.
Captain America AU
Imagine, it's the early 20th century and WW2 is just starting, but women were allowed to fight in the army. There in NYC are the Carpenter sisters.
Tara Carpenter is a sickly little thing. She has asthma, was born early, and is always ready to pick a fight with people much bigger and stronger than her. She looks up to her sister Sam and is desperate to fight in the war with her when Sam volunteers.
Samantha Carpenter is a perfectly healthy woman. She's been working her way up the ranks of the U.S. military to become one of the people to put an end to the war. She worries that if she doesn't hurry, the opposing side might nuke the United States and Tara -
Tara might die.
But Tara wasn't afraid of death.
It took a lot of perjury, but Tara managed to enlist in the army with the help of a certain doctor (whose name I'm too lazy to look up rn). Seeing such a thin, sickly girl in the army, the other recruits and higher ups don't believe in her.
Despite their lack of faith, Tara has heart. And with her heart, she was recruited for a secret program. She was going to become a super soldier.
She signed on to be a lab rat of sorts. It hurt, the administration of the serum, but she came out...
Looking exactly the same. But on the plus side, she has better reflexes, stamina, and no asthma! Sam was going to be so proud of her when they finally met up.
Only for disaster to strike.
Sam, trying to protect Tara, ended up being thrown from a train and off the side of a mountain. Tara, devastated with the loss of her sister, was determined to end it all.
And end it she did. Only, Tara didn't expect to wake up nearly a century later in modern America. S.H.I.E.L.D. was eager to recruit her into this "Avengers Protocol", or whatever.
She also didn't expect H.Y.D.R.A. would come back with a familiar brunette on their side. Her left arm shines with metal, and her eyes became hardened over the years.
Tara knows this is Sam, her older sister who she thought she lost forever. The person she would die for.
They call her the Ghost Face now, but Tara knows Sam is still in there.
Why would the Ghost Face hesitate multiple times to kill her otherwise?

transfem kon proposal could have been good if was good
#it was not. good#and i know theres a lot of transphobic assholes happy we didnt get it bc of that#but pretending that everyone who criticizes it is doing so only bc they cant handle kon being a trans woman. is just.#you cant see past the blind want for representation#again i would kill for canon transfem kon but everything about that idea was bad#and her characterization of kon was horrid and so clearly based on yj tv show#remember how when her first bit of kon writing came out and everyone was mad about it bc it was Bad and put him in a relationship with mgan#who he. never spoke to in comics before but suddenly theyre in an established relationship#and it was all around not good kon writing. but then the proposal came out and suddenly everyone is oh we were robbed..#as if anything about it was good except for the general idea of making kon a trans woman#also im sorry but i saw her replies on twt where she was saying being trans is about burning your past and leaving everything behind#or whatever. as if being trans is the same for all of us. and as if it makes sense for kon who isnt in a bad situation re family?#but of course it would seem that way if youre coming from yj tv show. where most of the clark and kon misconception comes from afaik#and her whole issue with conner and kon as his names? bc they were given to him by another person??#i know that we like. if we were to get trans woman kon. it would have to go with changing her name and everything#bc u know dc cant conceptualize any more complex trans person than someone who instantly changes their name and fully transitions in a sec#but the way she talked about the name issue as if its bad that clark named kon. as if he wasnt so overjoyed at getting that name.#'he said not to call him superboy and we kept calling him superboy!' girl he said that bc he wanted to be superman. of all the many ways#u can find trans allegory in kons story. that single line aint it#so sorry but every time im reminded of this i get so sad and disappointed u took the best concept and fucked it up so bad#and now all people think of when trans kon is mentioned is fucking sk*******#its so over (its not bc im about to forget about it again and ignore its existence)#txt#im sorry for being a bitch again but did u read that. thats not the kon we know. dont tell me thats the point bc its about transitioning bc#u do not become a whole other person when u realize youre trans#and sorry but i do think itd be nice to have trans kon without just turning him into a (new) oc

Yoyoyo to any trans person who reads this, I have a question.
Do any of y'all just feel absolutely nothing about your birth gender? Like just apathy towards it? Just wondering bc I literally don't care or feel anything when ppl misgender me, but I feel comfortable and more myself when people do use the correct pronouns/gendered terms for me. Just haven't seen anyone else feel like this on social media.

Soooooo I have started getting into the Obey Me! Series & Nightbringer is my first game
I have a general idea of what happens in terms of story beats prior to this game, but as someone who has 0 context of the specific relationship details, I kinda feel bad for Solomon. Clearly something between him & Barbatos led to this time travel situation, but as the mc who doesn’t really know shit, it must be way worse for those 2 to fix the situation.
I have chosen the options where the MC remembers nothing multiple times and I can tell from the writing Solomon is just like “yay I have a wife- oh fuck they don’t remember me..kinda? Sorta? Okay time to romance & go along with whatever the mc decides”
I like his character but I can’t help but notice already from the jump that he is withholding information about the circumstances of the time travel & not addressing the paradox being made by letting mc participate in major past events; I get he has chosen the simp life (understandable given the circumstances) & the dialog implies mc is slowly regaining their memories, but the fact he’s taking advantage of the situation to be #1 husband while again just letting mc create a goddamn paradox (especially when some of the dialogue options are incorrect or have nothing to do with the original time line) that could maybe erase their future is just ¿?
Barbatos is implied to know more and he can see all the timelines so I understand his beef. I’m with him, w h y is Solomon taking his sweet time to return him and MC to their timeline? Has he done this before because he’s too calm and complacent about the situation? Also mc isn’t a human??? Who is this demon the mc has possessed because Solomon didn’t change bodies nor species when he showed up. It’s actually weird he’s revealing himself to the brothers and essentially creating a paradox that wouldn’t have fully happened because of the mc’s physical changes. And what will be the long term consequences that’ll happen when the MC does leave their body if it is indeed possession and not just a side effect to the event that led to the time travel?

Want to write a fic in which Q has a breakdown of a sort and shows up at Bond's door in Jamaica. In years of their acquaintance, he has never asked Bond for anything and Bond owes him this much, he thinks. A break. A break from his life and responsibilities and a chance to collect himself before he becomes a real person again. (That's a decent ex post justification at either rate never mind that in his anguish all he could think to do was to go find Bond.)
And he regrets it immediately the second Bond shows up, tries to leave. But Bond stops him, because he may be too much of a headstrong ass to do anything about it but he has been living in a purgatory of his own making, drifting, and seeing Q here after all these years- it's a reprieve for him as well. Bond knows better than to ask questions too once he ascertains that Q is not there in business.
And the fic is just them spending a week together. A week of sailing and long walks on the beach, lots of sex (naturally), dinners they make followed by drinks in the town. Late night conversations. Do you remember when's. But those carefully steer clear of the old hurts that linger, of the Aston Martin and Madeleine and the zero postcards Bond sent. A question, unvoiced, of what they could have had in a different life. Of regrets that are too late to remedy now.
(OR ARE THEY???)
