One day when you're older, you will be able to feel proud that you made it through so many times even when you felt lost and out of options. Don't give up just yet. You cannot change the past, but you can accept and handle the present in a way that you can build yourself a happy future. There are good things waiting for you, good people too. Don't miss out on a good future because you are too attached to the past and too anxious over the present. Just because it has been hard, it doesn't mean it will be this hard forever.

I don’t want to live my life waiting around for the couple things I feel will “finally make me happy.”

I did that already - and I have things that my past self thought would make me happy.

Life doesn’t just hinge on those couple of things.

I suppose a part of living is to try to connect to the present moment as much as possible.

Action to move some semblance of forward is just as important as understanding the satisfaction you have in the present moment, no matter how little or in whatever form.

I know nothing about bluebirds, except that which I know about most birds. They take care of business. They eat. They drink. They make nests. The sing as best they can. They make love and care for their eggs and, once hatched, take care of their hatchlings until they're able to fly off and do it all over again. My Stunt Double du Jour is taking care of his eggs? Am I? That's all any of us needs to worry about, isn't it?

My first time talking to an outsider! This is a little weird, but exciting too!

It's been a good day! I haven't been asked to do much, so I've been walking in the woods near my house, taking in the scenery.

I don't have plans or goals. I'm happier that way. Mama always says I shouldn't think about the past or the future. A woman's place is in the present.

Lemon soda sparkles in a strawberry glass.

I’m 24 and going slow. I got myself this far, so it’s

It’s lusciously living the seconds,

and the honey wrapped blunt burning in my

hand, fingers tipped in dragonfruit polish.

It’s trusting the process, denim speaker bumping

turquoise, salmon, and royal blue

blanket spread beneath me.

It’s the resurgence of forget-me-nots, 

the escaped mint at the edge of the patio,

the wind in my hair, in the grass and petunias.

It’s the Maya Angelou in my lap

and the birds trilling away.

It’s so crazy how life changes and how the painful choices led sometimes to amazing things. It’s so weird not having the people I used to have in my life. This would be one of those big moments I’d be sharing with them. However, sometimes the best decision is letting them go. Mourning lost friendships can be so very painful. I hope you’re doing the best and your life is going in the direction you want. I’ll miss you forever like crazy. I hope I made the right decision in letting you go. Hopefully, you can feel this virtual hug and have a weird strange random moment full of happiness. Here’s to our futures 🥰
