「TO MAKE YOU PROUD」
anon request: Hi can you do one but it's not in any of your prompts, but its an eight female member ot7 of course it better if its an ot7 , so can you do where the female reader decided to take online classes but the guys dont know and when its time for her to graduate she tells the boys that theyre going somewhere but doesn't tell them where but when they get there it turns out its her graduation day. Thank you, i just found your account and i love the way you write 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
pairing: bts x f!reader (platonic)
genre: crack!!!, fluff, a tiny bit of angst
warnings: university LOL
words: 2.8k
never let it be said that you didn't like being an idol.
you love how you bring smiles to fans and how your parents talk about you with pride, you especially love the second family you found within your members
you love bts, perhaps more than anything else
although you receive a great amount of love from those around you, the anxiety to live up to those standards accompanies you like a shadow
that brings you to here: your computer light illuminating your face and graham cracker crust on your lips at an hour you should definitely not be up at, staring at one tiny little button that could change your life (you like being dramatic)
now, you have performed on more stages than you can count; given plenty of interviews and have embarrassed yourself a multitude of times in front of millions of people
nothing compares to the nerves you feel as your cursor hovers over the tiny blue button that glares back at you mockingly
'ENROLL'
who knew that one word could be so scary?
never let it be said that you didn't like making people proud, either.
you hit the button and slam your laptop closed, trying not to wake up your groupmates as you muffle a scream into your pillow
you really should've slept like namjoon told you to hours ago
~*~
you were being weird, and the maknaes could practically smell it
on one occasion they actually did. you smelled like you hadn't taken a shower in four days and you definitely looked like it too. was the extended break the company had given bts getting to you?
on your side, you were determined to keep the college classes you signed up for in the degen hours a secret, but damn. your professors made it really hard when they all decided to collectively assign three papers and a test at once
it had been roughly a month since they've started, and you wanted to die
idol training? a piece of cake compared to whatever fresh hell your professors conjured up. did they like torturing you?
what they said in their comments on your past assignments pointed to a boldly printed, neon colored: 'YES'
as you started to drink your fourth coffee of the day, trying to stay coherent enough even though it was only one pm in the afternoon, the maknaes decided to confront you about... whatever has happening to you
jungkook slid inconspicuously into the seat next to you at the dining table and blinked at you with those damn doe eyes
"so... whatcha up too?"
you almost snort your coffee in his face.
jimin, taehyung, and jungkook all look at each other worriedly
"do you need to see a therapist y/n? we know being on break for the first time in a while can be hard, but you really don't look too good." jimin says like the sweetheart he is
before you can reply, a ding from your phone grabs your attention and you look at it only to see the new gut-wrenching comment your writing teacher made on your 'side-effects of the fame of idol life' paper
'i like the enthusiasm, but you almost seem to be invested to the point of being pushy. stop that.'
you whine and slowly lower your head to the table in a dull 'thump'
teahyung sends a text to the group therapist
~*~
it has been about six months since you have started to take online classes, and you like to think that you have gotten marginally better at covering up the lack of sleep and the effect the comments your professors (which honestly, they must be out to get you personally) have on you
your schedule had been resuming as normal starting a few weeks ago and you already missed the blessed days of nothing to worry about except the brutality of college
as you go to put on concealer, you find the bottle suspiciously empty. have the maknaes used your makeup again? (you refuse to believe that you had used the whole bottle that you had only bought two weeks ago)
as you slink into yoongi's room, looking just as tired as you feel, to steal some of his makeup (which will eventually send him into stealing jin's and then from jin to jimin and so on until namjoon has enough and forces you all to get your shit together), he is typing something on his phone with his back to you
"yoongi-ah, i need to makeup"
then he turns around and startles because why do you look like that
yes, why indeed
"you look terrible"
you stare blankly at him and then turn on your heels, "ok, thank you. bye."
he sighs at the ever-persistent pain-in-his-ass that is you and turns you around, genuine worry in his eyes; asking silent questions and giving soft reassurances in case there was anything you needed to get off your chest
you almost tear up because how did you become so lucky
you haven't had your first coffee yet and you get sensitive and squishy when you're tired
once again, you question why you decided to put yourself through this
why do people pay to go through a personalized hell of their own making?
anyways
apparently, you get all broody without sleep as well
you realize you have been staring at yoongi for a few minutes without saying anything, looking like you have no thoughts, head empty
hoseok bursts into the room with all the decorum of a cracked-up butterfly and announces that breakfast is ready
he looks at you and does a double take
"woah."
your forehead meets your palm
yoongi sighs and drags hobi out of the room, "two shots of expresso?"
"add three" you say miserably
another therapist visit you have earned, you realize, as you get the notification that yoongi added it to your calendar
~*~
you skip into dance practice with a beaming smile on your face and practically throw yourself onto hoseok, and because he's hoseok he catches you and twirls you around
for the first time since starting your courses, your excited demeanor isn't caused by enough expresso to kill a small hippo
it's your one-year anniversary! you are halfway there to your degree!
you thank the god that is your mother for forcing you to take all those fancy advanced classes when you were in high school
the urge to actually scream "yippee!" like a cartoon character is surprisingly overwhelming and who are you to deny yourself?
"yippee!"
and because the guys are endlessly supportive, they chime into whatever you're celebrating without even knowing what the hell they are congratulating you for
they have long since gotten used to your strange habits and have learned to play along
i mean, what the hell, right? supporting you in whatever crazed manic episode that has been ongoing for the past 12 months is the least they can do for you
(your therapist said to be supportive)
god decided to give you a call and you answer it without hesitation while still being awkwardly held up by hobi. "hi, mom"
you pat his back to let you down, give him a fist bump, and then leave the room exactly like you came in it
"did she have her mom's contact as god?"
~*~
you, like the past year and half, feel like crying.
it's about that time when you have to start your senior project as an 'accelerated student'
whatever that means
you basically have to come up with a thesis and write a paper on it pertaining to your major, in which usually you would get two years to do
like an idiot, you have six months because you didn't start it when you first started classes
(you would like to see someone else try to balance college and being a world-wide famous idol, okay?)
so, here you are at one am, holding a bottle of apple juice to sooth your inner child, and some flavor blasted goldfish, trying not to cry your eyes out over the blank document that you have been staring at for over ten minutes
you take a deep breath, put your apple juice down, rub you hands together, smack your face, and then force yourself to write down something, anything
'music'
that's how far you get before your phone rings, and because luck is never on your side, you see namjoon's contact who is probably going to tell you to go to bed for the third time
you answer and before he even says anything, your eye's tear up
"joonie..." you whisper, sounding all too much like the sleep deprived child you are
because he is essentially your father, he picks up on it immediately
"y/n-ah," he sighs, because this has become a common occurrence, "what do you need help with?"
"everything," you blubber miserably
so, namjoon stays on the phone with you until four am (even though he is literally down the hall, but he is 'too cozy to move'), helping you come up with a draft thesis statement and introduction you were supposed to turn into your teacher a year ago, and because he is the best person ever! (you change that to his contact) he doesn't ask why you need help writing a thesis, as they know you won't tell them what you've been doing
you both walk into the kitchen the next morning looking, and feeling, like sacks of shit
"uhm." is the eloquent response jimin gives to the look the both of you have on your faces
jin wordlessly hands you both coffee with too much expresso and kisses your foreheads because he is amazing and he hopes it will hold you two together until at least the meeting with the staff is over
you and namjoon's phones go off with a ding! at the same time, and you both have matching therapy appointments
yay! the lunacy is spreading!
~*~
you are in the home stretch
you can smell it, feel it, even fucking taste it
and as you hover over the finally for-the-love-of-god-get-this-paper-out-of-my-fucking-face-thesis submit button, you countdown to yourself like an astronaut about to take off
"three, two, one..." you take a deep breathe, "lift off!" you hit the button
as soon as it says upload complete, you cry tears of joy
victory has never tasted so fucking sweet in your life (although maybe that was the cosmic brownie you had a few minutes ago)
~*~
within the next week, you talk to management about letting the boys attend your graduation ceremony and of course management says yes (they knew you were taking classes, even though you didn't tell them. talk about scary corporate companies knowing your every move)
and when the day arrives when you finally get your diploma, you are more nervous than you've been since your debut
the boys are a big reason why you've decided to pursue your education, and even if they didn't know it, you wouldn't have been able to make it without them
you aren't one to be sentimental, but you kinda want to cry at just how much you feel
you made it. achieved one of your dreams, not only for you, but for them.
you take a deep breath and you let the sense of fulfillment take over your heart and you let it sit there
your phone goes off, and it's the management telling you that the graduation event is ready, and that in kahoots with the online school you attended, they are ready to have the ceremony
"ok boys! time to roll out!" you scream, even though they have all sitting in the living room ready for thirty minutes because you made sure they would be ready by the time you had to go
"y/n, can you please tell us where we are going?" teahyung asks as he links arms with you
"nope!" you chirp, and because you are mean you add, "it's a surprise!"
jungkook comes up to link his other arm in yours, "does this have anything to with how you've been acting for a while?"
damn, he really is the golden maknae
you are suspiciously silent and everyone is suddenly weary of where you are taking them
you weren't going to murder them in a fit of hysteria, right?
but looking at your smiling and blushing face, they all can't help but smile with you and trust
the ride to the venue is only about fifteen minutes and you can't help but be excited and talk animatedly with your members
you almost spill the beans about where you're going but manage to not give too much away (barely, you kind of think the franticness is due to caffeine withdrawal)
before you know it, the eight of you are pulling up into the parking lot and the others look out with perplexed frowns on their faces
you look at them with a smile, "you trust me, yeah?"
they look to you and grin, "always."
you all walk in and when you get inside the venue hallways, you split from the group and manager sejin (just barely) corrals the boys forward without you
you run to get ready and put on your cap and gown, and you have to take another deep breath when you look at yourself in the mirror, because wow. if you knew a graduation gown would look this good you would have graduated college a long time ago
(you only just manage to keep the tears from ruining your makeup)
when the boys enter into a private room and see all of the other people sitting down in the stadium seats, their first thought is that you are holding some sort of surprise concert or something. they honestly don't have any idea what you are going to do, and they joke about how you are going to perform a magic show or some other equally ludicrous event
the lights dim and all of their attention is on the empty chairs sitting in the middle of the auditorium, and then all of a sudden a spotlight shines onto the graduates who walk in from the side entrance
speakers start to blast the school anthem (not that they know that) as the graduates make their way to their seats and boys gasp when they see you on the big screen
"is that-?"
"no fucking way."
"what is she doing?"
because there you are, flashing a peace sign and sticking your tongue out to the camera man who's broadcasting it to the big screen, walking to your designated chair
you will always and forever be a dork
they all laugh incredulously and can't help but have to sit down in shock
none of them can speak as the principal of the school introduces the class of 2023 graduates. he goes through what the school stands for and blah blah blah
when the time finally comes where you have to line up and get your diploma's, namjoon, hoseok, seokjin, and jungkook are crying, yoongi hides his smile behind his hands, and teahyung and jimin has ceased to function as they watch on, barely able to breathe
they all hold their breath as you finally walk up on to the stage and shake the principals hand
"y/n l/n, 2023 graduate with a degree in the arts of music writing and production"
the boys have never cheered so loudly in their life, and you swore you could hear them from your spot up on stage
you smile so big and wide and take a second to stand on the stage and bow, and the boys who weren't crying before definitely are now
its all a blur as you make it off of the stage and ushered into the private room the boys are in. you don't even make it three steps in before you are surrounded on all sides
"i can't believe you did this."
"y/n, you're amazing."
"i knew you weren't just going crazy."
there are voices all around you. some are laughing, some are praising you, all are crying
jin pulls you from the group in a hug that lifts your feet off the floor, "is this why you manhandled me into making you so much food the last few days?"
you laugh and whip at your eyes, "yeah, i wanted to have a good dinner when we got home" he sets you down and pulls you into his side with an arm around your shoulder
"i am so, so proud of you." he whispers into your hair
taehyung comes up on your other side and hugs you around the waist, "we all are"
your eyes tear up and before you know it you are wailing like a baby again
"i love you guys more than anything in the world," you whine out, a blubbering mess
they all smile and make fun of you, and there is nothing that can beat the feeling that wells up in your chest
never let it be said you don't like making people proud
later, a horrendously ugly photo of you crying with the guys all around you is uploaded to all of your social medias and your face is made into a meme, but, hey, you made it out alive, and that's all that mattered
(even if you did have to see a therapist)
[end]
a/n: what better way to jumpscare ya'll with an update other than with crack? but in all seriousness, i am so so so sorry this was so late anon! you've waited literal years, and i would write an ao3-usque excuse but i don't even deserve it ;( as always, i hope you guys have an amazing week, and i love you bunches (please imagine that in a skrunkly old grandma voice) ♡♡♡

✩ summary: Namjoon would say that he truly lives the normal life. As an alpha, he works the job he wants, he goes out when he has time, and he has never received a single late-fee on payments. He's living the mundane life- until an unknown omega literally drops into his life. Where did she come from? Why him?
✩ cover: me
ch.1, ch.2 ...
Namjoon
“This fish must have a really good hiding spot, I haven’t been able to find it since yesterday.” Y/N kneels in front of his nightstand where a small decorative bowl of water and plants sit in a bed of rocks.
Namjoon has been trying to work all morning. (Trying to answer all of Y/N’s questions while he also listens to the track over and over again while trying to make edits on it while Y/N is lingering around his desk like a lost puppy.)
“There’s no fish, it’s just a moss ball.”
“A ball of moss? I guess that’s a pet, just like a potted plant would be. Why did you decide to get one?”
“They’re cute.” Namjoon gives a genuine answer and a shrug.
“Very cute.” She agrees with a whisper almost too quiet for him to hear with one un-covered ear.
The room quiets down for a moment of familiar peace, only for Y/N to flop back onto Namjoon’s bed with a heavy sigh. This change in his routine isn’t annoying or unwanted, but the sudden change is proving to be harder to get used to than he thought it’d be. He really can’t risk taking a last-minute day off of this project, and even then he always has projects. He can’t be mad people like his work, so-
“Do you want me to see if one of my friends would take you out to do something today?” He turns to ask, meeting an excited looking Y/N whose head pops up immediately at the prospect. Her scent sweetens beautifully- he’ll definitely have to make her happy or excited more often.
Jimin is easy to convince, especially when Namjoon tells him he’ll pay him for a day’s worth of work. He doesn’t even have to pay the kid to skip work for a day, but he thought it’d only be right- especially since Y/N can take his card, allowing them both to just have a budget for the day.
The only catch- he didn’t tell Jimin what he’d be doing.
“Wait, she’s that omega from last night!” Jimin is more excited than anything at first, probably hoping Namjoon has been lying about how lonely he’s been.
“Her name is Y/N-” She gives an excited wave to Jimin, “and you are going to take her out and do something with her today.”
“Something?”
“Anything she desires or you see fit, because I can’t put off work and she doesn’t want to be inside right now.” Namjoon tries to explain as simply as possible.
“Wait..” Jimin can’t help but let out an awkward laugh, obviously not fully understanding the situation. “I’m sorry, could I get a proper introduction from her instead of you talking about her like she’s a dog.” Jimin’s quip sounds light-hearted but it smacks Namjoon in the face.
“I’m Y/N, I’m Namjoon’s gifted omega from The Goddess.” She gives him another small wave. “I’m excited to meet one of Namjoon’s friends. What was your name again?”
Jimin gives an annoyed look to Namjoon. He knows that look all too well. Namjoon is avoidant and focused only on his life, especially during work hours. He doesn’t like to multitask, and will always focus on his work over anything else.
“You have an omega gifted from The Goddess, a literal gift for you, and-”
Namjoon must be looking at him in a certain way to get Jimin to stop talking. He knows how awful he looks, and he definitely isn’t proud of it, but he really couldn’t put off work for anything. He barely got time to visit his parents when his grandmother passed away- this definitely wouldn’t be reason enough. He’s helpless and hopeless in the same moment, a shell of what an alpha should be. The least he could give her is an experience with an alpha that is pleasant and soft until he has time to focus on her.
“I’m Jimin, it’s nice to meet you Y/N.” Jimin coolly shifts his attention to Y/N with his memorable smile. “Are you hungry? Should we get some food first?”
“Yes! Whatever’s your favorite is fine.” She meets him at the door, turning only to give Namjoon a soft smile that he doesn’t deserve. “I’m going with Jimin, I’m letting you know per our rules.” She can’t contain her excitement while looking at him, her heavenly sweet scent pooling out to make his heart ache and clench uncomfortably at the realization that she’ll be gone without him- happy and experiencing new things. He steps forward  to meet her as she finishes putting on her new shoes.
“Here, use my card for whatever you do today.” He slips the card to Jimin to keep in his wallet, then looks back down to her. “Be careful please.” He looks at her with intent then to Jimin with a trusting nod.
“I will. I’ll make sure to stay with Jimin.” She knows what to say to comfort him despite just having met. What should he do? How should he meet her halfway right now?
He instinctively reaches out for her hand, she lets him have it with no question. With her hand he wraps her around his own wrist, directing himself towards her neck. She understands his gesture immediately, bringing him up to rub his scent into the soft skin of her neck- her jaw, her cheek.
“Thank you, Namjoon.” She whispers up at him, awe glittering in her eyes. All he can do to keep himself calm is not open his damn mouth, giving her a small smile and nod. It felt right, that’s all that matters. It’s not a big deal that he just scented an omega for the first time.
-
With everything moving very fast in his book, Namjoon has finally decided to do some long awaited research.
It’s quite easy to find blog posts and ‘asks’ on sites that are trying to reach out to others that share the same experience of ‘being gifted’. He reads through all of them, trying to understand why it all feels like it’s absolutely meant to be, instead of feeling forced and strange in unpleasant ways.
‘I was gifted an alpha, one that I think is far too perfect for me- what do I do?’
Many hit far too close to home, and he takes even more time rereading those and their replies.
‘I was gifted an omega and know of no one else, personally, that has had the same experience. I understand we connect just as I would with any omega that was to be my mate, but why is it so overwhelming and intense emotionally. It feels like I’ve known them forever.’
He scrolls through the replies, stopping to take all the information he can find into consideration. He starts with the top commenter, a reply that has over 5k thumbs up.
‘Sadly, The Goddess and her ways are not scientifically researched and we cannot run tests on anything associated with Her. But, please know you’re not alone when you describe your experience. I have taught gender studies for the past 15 years and have gotten a question similar to this a few times- as well as read many writings containing interviews of mates containing a gift, doctors who have come into contact with those in the mated pairs, and even random users on social media such as you. I will always tell them the same thing. Do what feels right. Our second genders will always want to protect and claim when we find the one for us, that is no difference in this case. And even more special in these instances, you are to be a perfect match, making your scents and chemistry far more heavy and attracted to one another. I always recommend lots of communication and time to be put into these pairs, as your gift is learning so, so much and you now have a sort of responsibility to them. Our second genders make caring and dedication an easier adjustment, but these could go against your once beliefs, so I would say just make sure to take things at a pace that, again, feels right. Forcing space or uncomfortable time in between what is supposed to be a literal gift from The Goddess hurts you and your mate. Please read further if you are still confused, I’ll add some recommendations down below when I’ve compiled a list!’
Before he scrolls through the list of reading recommendations, he checks the replies to that specific comment. If there is someone talking about different instances, he can find some that want to talk about their experience under that post. He’s lucky, and finds a variety. Some say they waited until their partner’s rute or heat, while those gifted with a beta waited until their own mating cycles. That would give him time, he thinks. Others said the pull towards their partner was far too strong, making them immediately obsessed with each other in ways that they’ve never experienced before.
As he scrolls and scrolls his phone ringing stuns him out of his focus. Seokjin is calling, which means-
“Yeah, hyung.”
“Why did I just learn from Jimin that you have a gifted omega? Why the fuck didn’t you tell me.”
“It’s been…stressful trying to adjust.” A moment of silence has Namjoon checking the phone screen to see if his hyung hung up on him. Yep, he’s still on the line. And yes, he will be getting an earful.
“You have your fated mate and you’re stressed? You- What are you doing having your omega spend time with another alpha while you’re at home working?”
“She wants to explore and try new things and I’m always holed up in here, hyung.” Namjoon says with more irritation than he wants to admit is adding up. “I can’t risk losing my job.”
“You are the company’s top producer, they could cut you some slack and give you time off while you deal with life-changing events.”
“No, no they won’t. I’m stuck in a contract that makes it impossible to have a sudden time-off. Everything I plan is at least 5 months in advance.”
“I’m going to tell you something right now that will pertain to multiple things in your life, maybe even all of them. Okay?”
“Okay.” Namjoon sighs into the phone, staring at his computer where five emails just sent today are waiting for his response.
“You’re talented and successful in ways that many could only dream of, but if it’s not working at this company, you need to try something else. If you need time to adjust to something and your work is heavily against you progressing in life, then you need to try something else. If you’re not happy, try something else. You understand?”
It takes him by surprise every time Seokjin gets all fatherly on him. He’s never offered the same to Seokjin, but he also knows that his hyung would never want advice from a sour, work-obsessed, plan-crazy kid that doesn’t know how to have serious romantic relationships or even healthy relationships with anything in life.
“I understand.”
“Whatever you need help with, just let me know. Send over your contract and I’ll read it  over by this weekend. And Namjoon?”
“Yeah?”
“Do you like her?”
The question catches him off guard. Of course he does, she’s perfect.
“Yes.”
“Act like it. Talk to her about more than just mundane life things, ask her questions, learn everything you can about her and please, dear Goddess, allow her to know you.”
“Yes, hyung.”
-
Jimin
“What is this place?” Y/N’s hands and nose are plastered to the passenger side window, looking out at the large rides and glittering lights that can be seen even in the afternoon.
“My favorite place, an amusement park.”
“What a fitting name, I’m very amused.”
Jimin can’t help but be absolutely floored by the comment. She’s too precious, far more precious than him- and that says a lot. He parks in the large, annoying lot of the park and looks over to her to gauge if this is something she actually wants to do.
“Good, because we’ll eat here and then ride some rides, sound good?”
“Yes, please.” She immediately unbuckles and pops her door open to begin the long walk to the gates.
After paying for two day passes and starting another journey to Jimin’s favorite food stall, he watches as Y/N takes in everything as if she’s going to be reciting every last ballon color spotted to Namjoon once we’re done.
“So, this is your favorite place?” She suddenly looks to him to ask.
“Uh, yeah, I came here a lot growing up and I still like getting my favorite snack and riding a couple rides like once a month.” He answers honestly.
“How fun!” She again turns to continue eyeing whatever as they walk. Jimin is far too curious to keep quiet about their living arrangements, and how exactly Namjoon is coping with everything. He goes to ask, when Y/N gasps and meets a kid about seven feet in front of them and points at the ice cream cone in his hand. The swirls of the cone are a pastel blue that perfectly compliment the obvious vanilla white of the rest of the ice cream. The top of the cone is already lapped at, but it really does look good.
“Where did you get that?” She asks, looking between the boy and their parent that holds their hand.
“‘Patty’s’, it’s just around the corner, big blue sign.” Their parent answers with a smile before continuing on with her small child also smiling up at Y/N.
“I really want to try that.” She turns to Jimin, more so asking than suggesting. How could anyone say no to her?
“You’re in luck, that’s where we were heading anyways.” Jimin sing-songs, leading the way to the small establishment. “Let’s eat first though, so we don’t get sick.”
Jimin orders for them, Y/N content on sitting at their table to save the spot and look out the large windows at all the passersby. He doesn’t wait long, happily tapping away at his crossed arms as he leans against one of the walls. He brings the tray filled with goodies to the table, Y/N beaming up at him and then to the tray he's holding.
"Wow, they all look so good. What is everything?"
"I think you'll find that Joon-hyung and I have similar taste- greasy, fattening, yummy foods. This is a corn dog, the least exciting. It's like a little kid's favorite food, easily palatable. These are spicy, sweet dipped chicken strips. Literally the perfect food- seasoned fries on the side. And the best for last, strawberry shortcake funnel cakes."
She eyes the food hungrily, trying to decide what to taste first. The look on her face is pure expecting excitement- he doesn’t understand how his hyung could pass up the chance to see her try new things again and again and again. She has a fresh new outlook on everything, and is excited to do everything. Even he can understand why she was gifted to him- but, would it even matter if he's too scared to allow himself to see the way she does?
"Go ahead, try in the order I suggested. We'll half-sies everything so we don't get too full."
It's extremely easy for them both to finish. Y/N eats well and makes everything look like it tastes better than it does. He's happy to have someone that enjoys his favorites as well. After promising her an ice cream after their fun, they head off to their next destination.
"Okay, now we walk to digest a bit and then, we ride."
"Eee! How exciting! What are they like?" She asks, looking up at the tall roller coaster nearest to them.
"Thrilling, scary, exciting. There are smaller ones and then, of course, the big ones. We'll start small just in case you don't like the adrenaline."
"Okay!"

Namjoon
It's already seven in the evening and Namjoon is actually done with his work early. He can't help but immediately hate his empty apartment, deciding to keep himself busy by preparing a late dinner. A large pan of pasta later, Namjoon gets tired of waiting and instead just calls Jimin. Luckily, his friend picks up immediately.
“Where are you guys at?” Namjoon asks, trying to hide his concern.
“She won’t get off the damn swings hyung. We left the amusement park and, because I forgot to get her the ice cream I promised, we stopped at a small ice cream shop just for her to find a children’s park. I’ve been watching her swing for the past 15 minutes.”
“Just tell her it’s late.”
“Again, she’s not a dog or a child, she just wants to have fun, I can’t say no to her.” Jimin explains.
‘I feel sick.’ Namjoon suddenly hears being yelled in the distance.
“Shit, I think she’s gonna be sick, I gotta go.”
“No, don’t hang up-” The line clicks to show it’s disconnected. ‘Fuck’ he mumbles to himself before grabbing his keys and an extra jacket before leaving as quickly as possible.
He doesn’t know where they are, but he can guess. Leaving the amusement park, there are about 15 dessert shops in the vicinity, and only one ice cream shop is close enough to a playground to be the right one. He finds Jimin’s car parked in front of the shop he guessed correctly, quickly unbuckling and bringing along his jacket to head to the park.
“You’re going to be fine, just bend forward, put your head as close to your knees as you can. Oh- I smell hyung.” He hears them before he spots them, but quickly makes his way towards the voice to find Y/N sitting on the swing, now stationary and leaning forwards as far as possible. He quickly closes their distance, just about ignoring Jimin to kneel in front of Y/N.
“Hey, how are you feeling?” He asks as softly as possible, his instincts kicking in to assess her in ways that don’t even make sense in this situation. He’s holding onto her ankles and squeezing up her calves as if she hurt her legs, inspecting. Then he feels her arms, immediately putting the jacket around her as she is cold to the touch.
“Mm-okay.” She mumbles to him, “I jus’ need a second.”
“Okay.” He stands, a glare pointed at Jimin without thinking twice about who he needs to point his anger and adrenaline towards. Jimin immediately puts his hands up.
“Do not get scary alpha on me after I did what you told me to do. I made sure she didn’t get sick earlier, this time around she was just too fast for me to keep up with her.” He defends himself, causing Namjoon to calm down just the slightest. He gets a grip on himself, knowing he shouldn’t be mad at Jimin. He helped him and unknowingly showed him that he shouldn’t have let Y/N do this without him. He let her have fun and allowed her to try new things. He’s extremely thankful- he just needs to get a tighter grip onto his alpha.
“I’m sorry. And thank you for spending time with her while I was busy. I will- I’m trying to change my work situation, so-”
“Well that’s good- just, just open up to her about things, yeah? And let some of this alpha out once in a while to fucking cool it a little.”
“Yeah, okay.” He will admit, he didn’t even think about how he’d act the second he got there. But he didn’t think he’d immediately point fingers and push some kind of blame onto the person he asked for help. “You can head home. I’m sorry I didn’t call earlier.”
Namjoon sticks out his hand to wait for Jimin to plop his credit card into his hand. Jimin does so with a sad smirk, obviously thinking his hyung would forget something so crucial in the moment.
“It’s okay. She’s sweet and she sees things differently, it was nice to feel excited about things again.” Jimin gives him a smile and a pronounced clap on his shoulder as he walks past Namjoon and in the direction of his car. “Can you get home safe?” He points a finger to Y/N.
“Yeah don’t worry. Text me when you get home.”
“Same to you.”
Namjoon waits for Jimin to get to his car before turning back to Y/N, finding her in the exact same position. He again kneels in front of her, assessing her scrunched up face. He relies only on his instincts, letting his alpha take over more than he’s ever allowed.
“Come here, I’ll carry you.”
“What if I throw up on you?” Namjoon rolls his eyes with a smile, his alpha yearning to touch and soothe after their time apart.
“I don’t care about throw up, I care about getting you home to be warm and safe. Plus, I have medicine at home to help your stomach.”
“Goddess it hurts.” Namjoon can’t help but be endeared by her in this state, soft and needy.
“Come on.” He urges again, standing up to offer both of his hands to her. She looks up and immediately holds onto him, standing and putting the jacket on with a shivering sound.
“Now, hold on tight.” It’s the only warning he gives before bending down and hoisting her up by the thighs. She gives a small noise but immediately seems to understand and wraps her legs around his hips and her arms around his neck. Her face digs into his neck without a second thought, causing Namjoon to stutter his steps. He corrects himself and heads for the car, happy to have her around him and snuggling into his warm skin.
He misses the warmth immediately upon setting her into the passenger seat, and buckling her in so she doesn’t have to move a muscle. The ride is silent, allowing Y/N to rest and warm up with the heater on. Again, he hurries to her side of the car upon their arrival to the apartment. He picks her up again, this time she’s prepared and snuggling into him with comfortability- his neck immediately opens for her as if she’s always been there to carve a space for herself. On their way up to the apartment, his alpha is calmed down enough to talk more comfortably.
“Did you have fun today?” He asks into her shoulder.
“Mmhmm.” Her hum is felt in his skin, shooting down his spine to slather goosebumps onto his skin.
“That’s good.” He breathes out.
It’s silent again until he’s unlocking the apartment door with one hand holding onto her. She’s clinging onto him just as much as he is to her, so it’s easy enough. He shuts and locks the door, only letting Y/N down once they’re back in his bedroom. He sets her onto the bed.
“Wait, I have outside clothes on.” She worries.
“Don’t worry, let me grab some medicine, stay there.”
Though he promises to only return with medicine, he stops in the bathroom, starting up a warm bath and setting a towel out onto the counter before proceeding back to his room.
“Here, you can just chew it, and then you can have a warm bath to help with the ache and to warm you up, yeah?”
“That sounds so good, Namjoon, thank you.” She takes the pink tablet from his hand, immediately popping it in and chewing it before heading for the bathroom. He clings onto the way she says his name, wishing briefly that he didn’t keep things casual for now- Goddess he wants to hear her call him her alpha once again.
“Call me if you need anything.” He says instead, turning to the bed to strip off the blanket he sat her on, making sure it was his own blanket when setting her down. He finds another blanket in his closet, replacing it and grabbing Y/N’s top blanket to throw in the dryer. He then stops at the kitchen, putting water into his electric water heater. He grabs one coffee mug, setting a tea bag into the cup and turning to his cooked dinner to put it away into tupperware for the next day.
Once the tea is done, he brings the hot mug into his room to sit on her side of the bed. He sets out that same pair of sleep shirts he cleaned for her earlier that day and grabs another random shirt for her to slip on. He changes his own clothes, paying attention to the sound of a draining tub. Perfect timing. He turns to meet Y/N, her perfectly sweet scent, and her very bare arms and legs. He didn’t exactly think about that.
“I’m sorry, go ahead and get changed, I’ll be in the living room.” He says without a second thought, heading out and plopping down onto the couch with a sigh. He’ll plan that better next time to make sure she’s as comfortable as possible. It doesn’t take long before she’s calling him in and he hurries to grab the blanket he warmed for her.
“Here, so you can be even warmer.”  Y/N holds onto the blanket like he’s gifted her  something far more magnificent. Nothing he does will ever deserve this response, but he soaks it up anyways.
“Thank you.”
“And there’s warm tea on your nightstand. Do you want anything else? Do you want something light to eat?”
“No. No this is perfect. I’m already feeling better thanks to you. But-” She looks down at the blanket she’s holding, seeming to figure out how to ask something. Namjoon waits, wanting her to take her time with whatever she needs.
“Could I hug you? Is that something you wouldn’t be ready for?” Namjoon finds the question precious in timing. He had just suggested she cling to him earlier, allowing her to find comfort in him. He also appreciates her taking his feelings into consideration anyways. He can’t say he’s been obvious in his wants anyways- it’s been a constant push and pull in this short time, wanting to give in and not just to make sure he’s pure in all his feelings.
Without answering verbally, Namjoon allows his alpha to take what he wants now that he has the consent from Y/N. He pulls her in with both of his arms, warm blanket squished between them and adding to the warmth that blooms in his chest.
“I missed you.” She mumbles a sigh into his chest.
“I missed you too.” He responds honestly. His sappy feelings and the come down from letting his alpha have more of a role in their relationship has him wanting to be more honest than ever. He can also thank Seokjin for that.
“Can I suggest another rule?” Namjoon asks, the two still clinging to each other.
“Mmhmn.”
“Please let me know when you want something from me. I’m not used to being intimate in- anyway really. This is new to me, but I want to work to be better for you and to learn as much as I can. So, just let me know if there’s something I can do for you.”
Y/N pulls back to stare up at Namjoon with her arms still securely on his waist. Her soft features and emotional eyes search him for something he can’t figure out.
“I appreciate everything you give me. I know that giving yourself to someone is hard in any case. You’re still a good alpha no matter what. I feel safe with you, and I want to learn everything about you. I just want us both to be comfortable- so please let me know if you need something from me as well. It’s 100/100, not 50/50.”
Namjoon can’t help but bring his hand up to cup Y/N’s cheek, her eyes still glittering up at him. A soft smile pulls at her lips that draws Namjoon’s attention immediately. If he was far more reckless, or far more comfortable taking without devotion, Namjoon would kiss her there and then. But, he’d never think about giving her less than she deserves. Only by accident will he, and only before this moment will he.
“You’re so pretty…and you’re far too good for me.” he whispers as his thumb caresses the skin of her cheek in gentle circles. She goes to open her mouth, probably to counter his statement. He speaks first. “I’ll learn to be good for you. I promise.” The statement has Y/N inhaling a shaky breath and keeps her silent for far longer than Namjoon realizes.  If he could, he'd sit and take in her lovely scent all night and all day, relishing in the feeling of happy omega and the fact that he's the one that did that. But, he knows it's already late and he has kept her from sleep for too long.
“Let’s get you to bed.”
Despite the day and their confessions, their night is the same as the one before. Namjoon can’t let one day with fresh promises be this turning point that just allows him to be rewarded the gift that is Y/N in full. He must earn her in ways that he still needs to prove to her and himself. They will get there. They will get to a point where both Namjoon and Y/N take and give with practiced passion and love. Because that’s what she deserves.

Your fingers trail the petals of the orchid once more as Namjoon and Yuuki keep the discussion going. Apparently, all of you standing to leave won't actually be a successful action. Seokjin laughs at the animated Eun who observes her husband and whispers something to him before Namjoon exhales in exasperation.
Another group also speaks next to them but more quietly, Jungkook is apparently following the conversation but he glances at you more than he doesn’t. So does Sofie when you notice you are being observed. Jungkook looks at Kyung, who asks him a question and Sofie raises her eyebrows to point out the obvious. You roll your eyes, going back to the fragile being.
Making use of your phone, you take a picture of the orchid under the fairy lights and candle flames. The image registered could as well come out of a super production, where said flower would be a magical creature or the key to an excruciating spell that saves humanity or sorts. The thing is much simpler although it's not its meaning, it definitely charms you.
Distracting you from your stupor, Hoseok offers you a ride back home, approaching with Sofie. She jokes about your sudden obsession with the plant and you point out its beauty.
It doesn't go unnoticed to you the way Jungkook looks at Hoseok as you make arrangements as to where he should drive you. He doesn't look jealous; he seems disappointed, and it takes you a minute to understand he would have liked to drive you. He knows, as much as you do, that since you haven't come out clean about knowing each other, it's not possible. The others think you have just met today and since you haven't talked much with each other, it would be odd that he would take you home. Needless to say, giving the impression of questionable intentions.
At this point in the afternoon, in which continuing with the pastries and tea would lead to the whole event being called the longest upper in history, the whole circle has noticed he is into you. Or at least you think he's been too obvious. You really need to have that conversation with him.
When the chatter dies and Eun finally looks at the clock, she covers her mouth. "We really should leave."
A change of shift is being made when you reach the counter to pay but Taehyung is the one to attend Namjoon when he asks for the bill and excuses for the time spent. "No worries, you probably have the largest bill of the day anyway," says the guy, unexpressive, making Namjoon laugh at his humour. Some of you join the mood but Kyung doesn't seem to get it and raises her eyebrows as if thinking him rude.
"It was a joke," mutters Yuuki at her side and hugs her from the waist since she's a little bit shorter. Kyung hums.
They couldn't be more opposite. Yuuki is soft and almost naive but very smart. On the other hand, Kyunsook is on the rigid side, stick to the rules, if you must, but at the same time she has the kindest heart and that's why they get along so well. Yuuki works as a preschool teacher and Kyunsook is a judge in a different city.
Both work and live in Suwon but you don't see them as often as you used to while in high school or even university. Studying in different universities as you and Sofie, you didn't see them daily but Yuuki was there often. Kyung, however, was a stickler to her schedules and after high school, you were lucky if you saw her on the weekends or holidays. Her parents were most proud of that but you are pretty sure it cost Sook a depression of sorts, although she never spoke about it. After her honorific grades gave her an excellent entrance on her career she seemed to breathe a little, but soon she would be trying to fight her ascend to judge. Now that she's in it, she sometimes confides the regret of it to you.
Yuuki loves children and she's been working at the same school since she finished her studies. She used to meet up with her boyfriend after work but they broke up two months ago and now, apparently, she's ready to start dating again. It makes you feel like you are too absorbed in your work like you aren't there for your friends enough.
You see the new waiters picking up the plates from the tables and one coming out from the garden with the last plates left. When Yoongi comes out at Namjoon's request, he is dressed in street clothes. You could swear he looks familiar but you can't place why or really think it through because Jimin comes out without the apron. The plain black T-shirt remarkably defines his muscles, you lick your lips at the centre, feeling them slightly dry somehow. He looks at you over Hoseok’s shoulder when they hug friendly to say goodbye. He hasn't missed your stare, although you look away discreetly. The smirk on his lips is very telling, but his eyes show a hint of a dark emotion.
He can't understand why but at the back of his mind, he is worried you might ghost him tonight. Maybe because you left his bed and disappeared when he didn't want you to but especially because he can see what's going on between you and Jungkook. He's caught him staring at you countless times, and before the light left, Jimin could swear he'd seen Jungkook trying to conceal an erection by putting a hand near his waist, at the thigh.
He is also certain, the guy knows or can read something is up between the two of you. His jealousy is so obvious, that he wonders if Jungkook wouldn't have jumped him if they were in a less public space. Not just by that but also by what Taehyung has insinuated. He looks at Yoongi receiving compliments. He doesn't want to think about it.
'But what if she cancels?' speak his demons. He is really eager to be with you again. To have you under him, feeling the soft skin of your abdomen on his lips, grabbing the plush flesh of your thighs. He wants to taste the nectar between your thighs and the one of that portal of giggly sounds he so much wishes to hear. He wants to bury himself in you and be a prisoner of your warmth, in your depths. His mind writes poetry of your body and only stirs the hunger for what he is only a few hours to have. He drives himself mad.
He almost succumbs to the urge to touch your arm when Hoseok introduces Sofie and you to him. His friend winks at him at the use of your name, letting him know he understands you are the girl he spoke to him about. However, he contains himself.
So do you, reading the way he swallows after saying your name as you both bow to each other, the passion contained inside his body. His proximity, sending a shiver down your spine. Now, just a few hours feel like an eternity, even if you are still to go home and get everything ready, in case you invite him in. Your mind immediately checks the mental map for the state of your house before you leave. 'Draw the curtains. We don't need the Nam's seeing that.' you think. 'I wonder if we'll reach the bedroom…' You know you need a shower to get rid of Jungkook’s musky scent, the problem will be what to wear, so you might just overdress on clothes that might stay on your body for only five minutes. Not that you would want them to stay longer.
He looks at you, deep in thought as you leave and it's driven to his own mind as he walks to the dressing room for his things. He can't even understand what has been keeping him so damn frustrated the last two weeks. It was a one-night stand, you had your right to leave like that. That should have been it. But it’s not. Having sex with someone hasn't had those after-effects on him before and by the way his mood shifted after seeing you again, he knows; tonight won't be the last time you will see each other. He will make sure of it.
When he woke up on Sunday morning looking at the cold side of the bed, as he was sleeping on his tummy, he buried his face in the pillow and growled. Partly, for the hangover, but mostly, for the fact that he almost knew for sure you had left before the sun was up, not so long after the last time you two had sex.
He turned on his back, looking at the white surface of his ceiling matching the white walls all over the apartment. Being his free day, he should then have thought about planning some calls for the week and finally getting the place made into a home; adding colour to the walls, maybe a patterned wallpaper, some rugs, changing the sofa, since it had followed them from the other apartment. But it was impossible. Having sex with you had been a relief and a release of all the stress work had been giving him for the last couple of months after the restaurant became popular. But you leaving before the day had started, was starting to sour what should have been a good mood.
Your scent came to him from the sheets like poison, directly running through his body at high speed. His hand trailed his torso and found the now erected shaft, but at the first pump, he grunted, sensitive nerves making his skin rise in goosebumps. The grip loosened and his hand rested on his chiselled abdomen, as he let out a breath through his nose.
He stood up to use the bathroom, noticing the LED from his phone over the nightstand. It could be either Taehyung from his hometown, with his zero tolerance for alcohol, or Yoongi reminding him of next week's new schedule.
The last couple of weeks, they had been training a three-headed crew to relieve some work from their shoulder. Three shifts would be settled at the beginning of the week, an eight to four shift with two working people, a twelve to eight shift for support with two people and a four to twelve shift with another two people working. Now it would be Monday to Sunday so they could have profits every day of the week but also have a decent time of resting. If said shifts work this week, in the next one the definiteive planning will be put in; Monday to Friday, the three shifts but Saturday and Sunday there will be only two, from eight to four, where the three owners will be in and four to twelve for the workers. Of course, they will be monitoring through the cameras and come in if called. Two of them will have to keep their phones  on volume each weekend but for the rest, they can be doing whatever.
Initially, Yoongi wanted to take the support shift but Taehyung told him off since one of the first reasons to get it started was because Yoongi had only been able to work on his music on Sundays for the last two months; too tired to do so after the long shifts the new business was putting on them. So Yoongi was now on the morning shift, to have studio time in the afternoon, Taehyung on the support shift, and Jimin on the night shift. They also settled that the last two would be switching shifts every couple of months while the workers kept the same timings.
'We have workers… ‘ he thought ‘That feels so weird.’  After washing and drying his hands, he unlocked the phone and played the audios. He looked around his room and the living room in case you’d left your phone number somewhere, as he listened. “Brotheeeeer, how are you doing? I’m with my cousin, for some drinks and I just felt bad that you weren’t with us…” he looked at the time the audio was sent. It was 2:30 a.m., around the time you were getting in his car. He hadn't checked his phone since he messaged Hobi, so by that time, the LED had been definitely unnoticed.
He went so far as to look on the fridge door but there wasn't one anywhere to be found, and he felt his pride hurt. Whether he wanted to see a girl again or not, he'd always gotten at least the phone number. He bit his bottom lip and caressed his neck, feeling the tingle of a memory of your lips on his skin, it made him close his eyes and when he realised, he opened them wide.
He sighed, with the audios he wasn’t paying attention to playing in the background. “YOOOOOO! I think I drank too much… weah *sounds of something falling* Oup! I’m going back to my cousin’s now. Were you sleeping? I hope I didn’t wake you up…" Jimin picked on that last bit and smiled sourly.
He had been wide awake, feeling your skin, tasting you, teasing you. Getting to feel you, with emphasis on the feel. He was supposed to make breakfast but instead, he threw himself over the bed and pulled your pillow against his face and chest, while grunting in frustration again. What could he have done wrong? “Oh, Hobi says he’s seen you leave with a lady. He took one back to her home. She was too drunk and he was worried…" keeps talking the drunk voice from the speaker of his phone. "Hyung’s a real-life prince, isn’t he?” he heard in the background while breathing in the pillow. “Shit!” he said, picking up his phone, still hearing Taehyung talk but not paying attention.
Since Hoseok had started talking with a woman who stumbled at his side, who he guessed was the one Hoseok accompanied, he had gone inside for some drinks and then met you. He’d messaged his hyung while you were away but didn’t get a reply, then completely forgot to check out the response. When he opened their conversation, he immediately smiled.

He frowned at the thought of you leaving again.

But hell if he didn't care.
He would normally put the sheets in the washing machine in the morning, without hesitation but the more he smelled them, the more he was tempted to keep them. As if his brain was fried and couldn’t make any attempts at rational thought. Then he came to that realisation and told himself he was being stupid. ‘It’s a one-night stand! Move on!’ He threw the pillow across the room and stood.
He wasn’t a lovesick teenager, although he wasn’t a fuckboy either, but it was done and over. He needed to act accordingly with his actions, he had brought a lady, without having a conversation about expectations. He had thrown himself directly in the pool and had a fun time. That. Was. It. So he pulled them off the bed energetically, with a slight frown, then manhandled the pillow and threw it back to the bed before making the washing machine do its duty.
He went to put on his boxers with the mental plan to make himself some hungover breakfast before showering. But as he went to the kitchen, to his every move, your scent would fill his nostrils, driving him insane.
He decided the breakfast could wait.
Hoseok and him, met up for lunch, an hour later, at a restaurant in the centre. One of Hoseok´s students worked there while he made his firsts attempts to work as a dancer, in order to maintain himself while being in Seoul, so he had told his proud professor to visit.
The boys' night had taken a twist and they needed the unwind, the talk, still. Hoseok was slightly frustrated with one of his teachers, who wasn't punctual at work. The man, Yoshiro, was really good at his job but was lately having problems with his wife and had been sleeping in a hotel, mostly getting drunk at night. Hoseok wanted to encourage him to solve the situation or at least to stop drinking, to not throw his career down the drain for a personal situation. At least like that, he would still have his job even if he and his wife separated. But he didn't know how to approach the subject without interfering too much with his private life.  Unfortunately, Jimin’s brain couldn’t come across any ideas, since his only thoughts were of you.
Sleep had taken you for a bit since you were exhausted, but when his slight movement woke you up and you saw his angelical, dreamy face, you pushed one of his threads of hair away from his face and smiled. You panicked at the way your heart skipped a beat when he said your name in a whisper.
You stood, slowly, making sure you didn’t wake him up, even got slightly scared when he rolled to his tummy as a response to your presence leaving his side. You took your underwear from the floor and only put on your bra, knowing your after-sex kit was inside your purse.
It was to tempt luck when you used the bathroom at the end of the hallway, to clean yourself and put on clean panties, but still did it. Then, after, you snuck your head inside his room to see if he had woken up. To the sight of his still sleeping figure, those pouty lips looking red from use, you rushed for your life out of his apartment.
On the way back home in the taxi you had been quiet, regretting your decision and reaffirming in it, over and over. Internally, somewhere, you wanted to stay and see him wake up,  take a coffee with him even. That was the main reason to tell yourself you had taken the right decision by leaving like a white glove thief, unnoticed. That was something you couldn't allow yourself to get into, involved, in something more than casual sex.
You didn't admit it to yourself then but it was because of Jungkook. Almost eighteen months ago and the rationale of you couldn’t get past an abandonment trust issue. Jungkook coming into your life right after an encounter with your own feelings; simply seemed like a bad joke from destiny to you.
Another sigh from Jimin gave Hoseok the cue to stop talking and make his friend spill out whatever was troubling his mind. That stirring of the kimchi, instead of devouring like he would normally do, had him worried something bad could be going on. “What’s with all that sighing, Jimin-ah? Are you ok, brother?”
“I just can’t get her out of my mind… She was so…” he touched his lips and shifted on the chair, trying to find a way to define what he was feeling. “I can’t even explain.”
“Was it that good?”
“It was… I have no words,” replied Jimin breathlessly.
“You think… She might be-?” asked Hobi, this time more serious. He knew his friend enough to know he wouldn’t really have problems describing what he felt if it wasn’t something new.
“She left, without leaving her phone or any way I could contact her,” groaned Jimin, putting his head back on the chair, looking at the ceiling. The idea Hoseok suggested made him change his expression. He’d always believed in love at first sight, the nature call, things coming at the right time by themselves and his friend knew that well. The emotions he had been feeling suggested it, now that he could put a reason to it all. But how was he supposed to see you again?
“If she is, Jimin. I think you’ll see her again,” suggested Hobi, drinking from his rose wine looking at the city view, as if he could read his mind and was sure of that statement. Jimin cheered to that in silence and drank his glass in one go.
The idea still didn’t give him peace of mind. What if he had ruined it?

Jimin Of BTS Talks About His Solo Album In New Interview With W KoreaSahil PrasharJanuary 18, 2023Comments OffOn Jimin Of BTS Talks About His Solo Album In New Interview With W Korea1289
Jimin has been making lots of headlines recently, with the rumor of his solo release in February, the announcement of his association with Dior, and his collab single release with Taeyang of BigBang. Jimin also recently surprised fans with a solo magazine cover with W Korea which seemingly marked the beginning of his solo era. Jimin looked amazing in the pictures for the magazine, dressed in all Dior. Jimin is also confirmed to be attending the upcoming Dior show at Paris Fashion Week, which will also be his first fashion show appearance of his.
Jimin talked about a variety of topics in his interview with W Korea magazine.
Jimin was asked about his parents his’reaction when he first told them that he was going to become a Dior ambassador. He answered, “My parents always say with a happy expression, ‘I’m really proud of my son.”
Q – Did you find the answer to ‘what I want the most’, which will be the starting point for Jimin’s solo album?
ans – “I couldn’t find a grandiose and clear answer. I don't think there's a more appropriate expression other than 'I just want to do my current job better for a long time'. So I’m looking back one by one, reflecting on my past feelings and organizing them”
About PJM1: “I’ve been asking the producers, ‘what about this?’ ‘what about that’. I've been working on music. I definitely felt a lot of 'enjoyable' feelings ^^ The more I did it, the more I enjoyed it, so I thought that our members told me 'I wish I could work on music' so that I could feel these things ^^ Connecting it to creation and work was another matter. It wasn’t that easy or fun”
Q – You can imagine and draw your future for a while. What do you expect and hope for Jimin as time goes by?
ans- “I want to be a person who can afford it. If I want to be able to relax in things like music or the stage, I have to become a person who is good at it In order to be able to afford it, my heart must be as strong as that, and I need to create a more solid environment. I want to become a person who can keep my promise to be that way”

Exclusive Interview With Jimin From BTS In Collaboration With Dior
In this special collaboration with Dior, Jimin from BTS shares with us about his feelings and how to be mindful in the midst of being debuted as Dior Global Ambassador
Tumblr media
It’s a pleasure to meet you as this  month’s cover artist for  DAMAN  Magazine, and congratulations on becoming Dior’s new ambassador!
DAMAN: We understand you will also be attending the upcoming fashion week this year. Can you tell us how you feel about experiencing the fashion week for the first time? Jimin: First, I would like to thank you and tell you how happy I am to be meeting with DAMAN. I feel very grateful and blessed to have become an ambassador for a prestigious global brand like Dior. I hope I can take this opportunity to learn more about fashion and contribute something to Dior. I’m a little worried about fashion week as this is my first time and I think I’ll be very nervous.
DA: Do you remember your parents’ first  reaction when you told them you became an ambassador for Dior? Or when you were invited to the White House? JP: My parents always look very happy and tell me they’re proud of me. Those were also opportunities for me to realize how proud I am to be a part of BTS.
DA: How are you feeling these days with everything that’s been going on? Are you mostly doing okay? Do you have any worries, or do you feel lighthearted despite being busy? JP: There hasn’t been a drastic change in how I feel, and I don’t feel heavyhearted. But since I’m in a period when I’m preparing many new things that are soon to be revealed, I do think a lot about my direction and plans for the future. It’s a time that’s filled with more thinking than doing. [Laughs]
Tumblr media
DA: What are some topics that really get you going ones that make you talk louder, in a different tone of voice? JP: I become very absorbed in the conversation when I’m talking about the BTS members or people that I love and care about. (doesn’t everyone?) They are the ones I know the most about and therefore enjoy talking about the most.
DA: In the first half of 2022, you sang a soundtrack song with your friend Sungwoon Ha, BTS came out with a major album that marked the end of an era, and you guys were also invited to the White House. We’re curious how you spent your time relaxing after all of that. What did you do for  yourself? Were there some things that you  came to better understand and accept about  who you are as a person? Did you take some time to look back on your thoughts, or did you try something new? It must have been your first time experiencing this kind of rest since you debuted as BTS. JP: I tried to be mindful of what I was feeling in the moment. I tried to record those feelings in as much detail as possible because I was afraid they might disappear if I didn’t. For some reason, I felt like those feelings had to be documented. To be honest, both BTS and I have experienced a lot of changes in recent years. And since I was able to stay strong throughout those changes, I felt that if I wrote down the thoughts and feelings I had during that time, I would be better equipped to handle similar situations in the future. So, I took some time to look back on them, especially on the kinds of thoughts that made me feel happy or overwhelmed in the past.
DA: In your interview with Weverse Magazine released in June, you said that you wanted to spend some time working closely with your producers and just keep trying things. Do you feel as if the more you create music, the more something inside you is being released? Or does it just fill you with more thoughts? What did you end up finding out? JP: I can confidently say that I’ve experienced a lot of joy. While I was creating music, I asked a lot of questions like “How about this?”, “How about that?”. The more I worked, the more I felt so much joy that I began to understand why the other members recommended it to me. However, I found that translating my past emotions into music wasn’t purely easy and fun. [Laughs]
Tumblr media
DA: We heard you are collaborating with  Taeyang on his new album. Both of you are  artists who are highly skilled at both singing and dancing. From what we personally feel, we think both of your vocals carry a delicate kind  of sensitivity. What are some things you thought or felt while discussing with and working alongside Taeyang? (Did he tell you why he wanted to collaborate with you on his new album?) JP: Taeyang has always been like an idol to me. You could almost say I came this far dreaming of one day collaborating with him. I learned a lot from watching his performances when I was young, so when he asked me to collaborate with him on his new song, I couldn’t believe it was real. While working with him, I realized he was even greater than I thought and was touched by how thoughtfully he looked after me the entire time. He caused me to renew my resolve to become a good singer and performer.
DA: We think that when you take charge of  things and do something really important,  the problem is knowing what it is you really want to do. Once you figure that out, all you have to do is carry it out. That process just involves its own difficulties. But unless you figure out what you should do or want to do, it feels like you haven’t even started the real game. One day, we will get to listen to your solo album. Did you figure out  “what you want most,” which would serve as  a starting point for your album? If you have already figured it out and are in the process of making it happen, what did the figuring-out process look like? JP: I haven’t reached a clear, grand conclusion. I don’t think I can come up with anything that sounds impressive except that I just want to become better at what I do and be able to do it for a long time. I think that must be why I’m taking time to look back on my past thoughts and feelings.
DA: We were very inspired by what you said  in your interview with Weverse Magazine  about doing your “absolute best”, it’s similar to perfectionism but slightly different. To show people your absolute best, I think you first need to have a clear concept and topic in mind. Since performing on stage is also a form of  acting, we think if you were to compare it to that, it reminds us more of an intense kind of appeal that comes from a passionate actor rather than the more relaxed and subtle kind. I’m curious about your thoughts on doing your absolute best. Please feel free to use examples. Is it something you can achieve through an enormous amount of hard work?
JP: This may sound harsh, but I think what’s ultimately important is the result. I think you get a different result by giving your absolute best, and that result leaves a different impression on your audience. To get that “different result,” you have to focus solely on one thing and work really hard for it.
DA: Working as the executive producer for your solo songs, “Lie” and “Serendipity,” your first self-written song “Promise,” and the special album BE must have served as meaningful experiences before embarking on your first solo album. Were there some things you learned or realized later on in relation to those experiences? (For J-Hope, it seems like listening to the mixtapes he made in the past helped him collect his thoughts before working on his solo album.) JP: To be honest, creating music has become more intimidating for me. [Laughs] I knew how fun and interesting it was, but I found it’s not easy to write lyrics that everyone can relate to and feel touched by. That’s why I felt even more amazed by the other members. I was filled with both a desire to do it myself and a fear that I may not be able to.
Tumblr media
DA: What type of activity fills you with the most happiness? What do you think really makes you happy? They can be small, everyday things. (Since ARMY is a given, let’s leave that out. [Laughs]) JP: I know talking about my fans sounds very typical, but I really can’t leave them out [Laughs] For many years, I’ve shared all kinds of happy moments and sad moments with my fans. And when it comes to smaller things, spending time with my friends is my only hobby and pastime.
DA: Can you tell me something about your temperament that you enjoy? JP: I guess my sense of curiosity? I think I’ve always been very curious since I was young. I always had to look up things that I didn’t understand or wanted to know more about. But then I wasn’t very faithful about following things up. [Laughs] And I was always curious about a lot of useless things.
DA: When would you say little Jimin discovered dancing for the first time? Was there a moment when you felt exhilarated by the responses you received after dancing at a family gathering or a noraebang (Korean karaoke)? Or maybe you were deeply moved by the way Zoro from One Piece swirls his swords around? When did you feel sparks flying? JP: I clearly remember the first time I discovered dancing. I was in middle school, and I was talking to my friends in front of the classroom. There was some kind of announcement letter on a desk about extracurricular activities, and it contained the word “breakdancing.” My friends and I said, “If we learn this, we can become popular. Let’s do it!” And that’s how we all started dancing [Laughs].
DA: What kind of teenager was Jimin Park back then? Can you tell me about some scenes that come to mind when you think of your old neighborhood? I think I could picture you inside those scenes. JP: I remember everything about my old neighborhood and the places near my school. The most memorable scene would have to be… playing at my friends’ houses after school. Tomorrow, we’d go to this friend’s house, the next day another friend’s, and so on. We would cook ourselves ramyeon and play around. I kind of wish I could go back to those times. [Laughs]
Tumblr media
DA: Were you ever so moved by an artist that you almost felt shocked? It doesn’t have to be a musician. (One musician said that, after only being familiar with hymns and children’s songs, they bought a Michael Jackson cassette tape in elementary school and realized that music can ‘completely wreck you’. According to them, their life never got any better since Michael Jackson, and they felt they were happily cursed.) JP: I was really sad that I didn’t get to see Michael Jackson while he was alive. I was shocked several times listening to his music, and I was also shocked by the performances of numerous artists like Chris Brown and Usher, as well as those of K-pop idols such as BIGBANG.
DA: When you’re performing at a concert,  you’re surrounded by the roars of everyone in  the audience like stars in the galaxy. There are also the bright lights, the performance, the teamwork, the catharsis… After being on stage, when you’re back  in the quiet of your home, what kind of thoughts do you have before you fall asleep? What kind of state are you in? I would like to hear your description of that combination of euphoria and feeling of emptiness. JP: From the moment the curtains fall at the end of a concert to the moment I return to the hotel and fall asleep, that roar keeps pulsing in my ears. There are moments when that thrill returns after a concert has ended, but it’s not always euphoria or a feeling of emptiness; it’s a mixture of all kinds of emotions. I’ll be visited by this enormous euphoria that I can’t even describe, but then I’ll feel this emptiness when I’m lying alone in bed. To be honest, right now I’m only left with touching memories, and I miss being on stage. I really want to perform again, and I especially can’t wait to do a concert with the other members.
DA: Did you ever cry because of how difficult things felt, either when you were a trainee or after you debuted? Is there anything you’d like to say to the past Jimin in those years? JP: There were so many times when I screamed and cried because I was so tired and exhausted and felt like I didn’t know what to do. I don’t really have anything to say to the past Jimin, because I’m here after having gone through all those years. [Laughs]
Tumblr media
DA: Are there any memorable kind words that someone said to you? Sometimes, people can say something that wasn’t even intended to make you feel better but somehow touches you. JP: There are lots of things that are memorable to me. I’ve heard so many beautiful words from my fans, probably more than most people get to hear in their entire lifetimes, and I’ll never be able to repay their kindness. And I’m still hearing them now. There’s also my manager, who gave me a hug and told me he was sorry he didn’t understand everything I was going through; the staff who cried with me; friendswho just came to be there for me at my house for several days; and my family. Another thing that gives me the most strength and at the same time makes me feel very apologetic is when the other members tell me that everything’s okay without saying anything else.
DA: Among the things you did in 2022,  what is one thing you’d like to compliment yourself on? JP: I went to the other members and told them how I’ve been feeling lost for a long time. They gave me so much consolation and helped me prepare my solo album. I want to compliment myself for turning to them when I was having a hard time. [Laughs]
DA: Once you strip off all the fancy modifiers that are used to describe you, all the marketing stuff that is required in the entertainment industry, and all the layers of packaging as a celebrity, what is the core that is left of Jimin Park? JP: A silly guy who likes to drink soju with his friends at a pojang macha (street stall) in a sweatsuit.
Tumblr media
DA: What do you think you need the most right now? JP: Time. I need time to look back on my twenties, accept the fact that I’ll soon be in my thirties and think about the direction I want my life to take. I also wish I had more time to prepare my album, have fun with my friends, etc.
DA: We’d like to hear about the future you’re anticipating and drawing for yourself—in all kinds of aspects including music, as a person, etc. You can choose how far in the future you want to think. JP: I want to be someone who’s relaxed. When it comes to work (like creating music or performing on stage), that means I’ll have to be good at it. When it comes to my state of mind, I’ll have to become stronger and create stronger surroundings. I want to become someone who can protect those things.

Beauty | kth - Chapter 16
Tumblr media
Pairing: Taehyung x OC (Reader) , slight Jimin x OC
Genre/Tags: Strangers to Lovers, Idiots to lovers (kinda), single dad; humor (-ish?), slow burn, angst, fluff, smut
Chapter Warnings: just mentions of unrequited love and a little cussing
Word count: 12.2k
Series summary: Who defines what beauty is or where it comes from, and what does it even mean?
Working in an industry that is hardly about anything else, and being the father of a gorgeous little girl, Taehyung always thought he must have a clear view on that issue. You, on the other hand, lost sight of the sheer concept of beauty a long time ago.
But maybe you both have no idea after all.
And perhaps the beauty of life itself will teach you the true meaning behind it.

Chapter 16
Tumblr media
“What are your plans this weekend?” Namjoon asks his two best friends while all of them are gathered around in the kitchen on this beautiful Friday evening.
“Jungkook and I are going to Busan with ___,” Taehyung informs him. “Something about a wedding party or something like that.”
“And we’re finally going to meet ___’s parents,” Jungkook joins in, plopping down in the chair right next to Namjoon. “I’m so nervous. I hope they like me.”
Upon hearing Jungkook’s mumbled words, Namjoon peeks over at Taehyung, who’s already shaking his head in disbelief while he sarcastically grins back at him.
“Uh… I don’t like to ruin your mood, but I think you need to hear this,” Namjoon says, looking at his youngest friend, who is currently hunched over his cereal bowl. ”Kook, you are not a part of Taehyung’s relationship with ___.” He states, taking a bite out of his bread right after.
Jungkook immediately frowns, crossing his arms over his chest. “Excuse me? I don’t think that’s your business. If that was the case, one of them would tell me that themselves.”
“Kook, you are not a part of my relationship with ___.“ Taehyung cleverly displays, looking somewhat proud of his joke. Meanwhile, Namjoon falls into a fit of bit back giggles while Jungkook looks very unpleased.
“Who asked you? It’s not like you ever have a say in anything anyway.” He cooly scoffs, ignoring the way his friends don't stop laughing at him. “___ invited me. I don’t care what you think.”
“She only invited you to tag along as a third wheeler,” Taehyung says, still grinning brightly. “She just didn’t wanna leave you to be the only one to stay home.”
Jungkook takes a big slurp from his cereal before he looks up again and throws Taehyung a very unimpressed look. “That’s solely your take on things, bro. She didn't ask Namjoon.”
“I don't live here. And I just told her last week how busy I am.” Namjoon counters.
“Whatever.” Taehyung decides to not dwell on it any longer and just continues eating his breakfast instead.
Unfortunately, Jungkook is already on to the next matter, remembering how he still has something to ask his Hyung.
“Hey, since we’re already talking about ___ anyway, do you think you could lend her to me on next week’s Saturday?” He asks, casually nibbling on an apple now, as if he’d just asked about the weather.
“We have a work thing, and apparently everybody’s bringing a date. I was bragging about my ‘girlfriend‘ a while ago because I didn't wanna be the only single one blablabla. The only problem is, I don’t have one. So I was thinking about taking ___ to avoid any annoying questions my coworkers could ask me.”
Namjoon has already started coughing from choking on his tea but stays silent as he waitingly looks at Taehyung, who, on the other hand, takes a moment to just look at Jungkook with an unreadable expression on his face.
“Yea, sure. Why are you even asking?” he suddenly and unexpectedly grins, joyfully patting his best friend’s shoulder.
“Really?” Jungkook smiles brightly, “Tha—”
“No, not really. Are you mental?” Taehyung’s face abruptly changes to a frown as he looks not amused at all. “She’s my girlfriend, not my car, you moron.”
Jungkook directly starts pouting when he notices that his simple request is being denied before he even has a chance to present all the arguments he had prepared.
“As if you’d ever give me your car…”
“Hey, what’s going on?” Unaware of what they're bickering about once again, you join them, looking from one guy to the other. You can feel the tension but don’t really know what it’s about just yet.
“Taehyung is being possessive again and does not want to share.” Jungkook whines, acting like a child that’s telling on his friend to a parent.
“What do you not want to share?” You ask, looking at your boyfriend with raised eyebrows, thinking he’s just trying to annoy Jungkook again.
Seeing how you already seem to take Jungkook’s side (as you always do), Taehyung cooly leans back against the counter with a smirk. “Go on, why don’t you tell her, Kook?”
Expectantly you look at Jungkook, ignoring Namjoon’s silent “Oh boy” in the background.
“Well, you,” he shrugs, sounding completely unconcerned. “I asked him if I could take you as my date next Saturday.”
“Excuse me?!” You bark, already seeing Taehyung and Namjoon both stifle their laughs. “I’m not a car!”
“See, that’s what I said because I love and respect you,” Taehyung speaks up, proudly grinning at you. Unfortunately, he is being ignored since you're way too irritated with Jungkook to notice.
“Where did you get such an idea, Jungkook? You could’ve just asked me yourself instead of acting like he has to let me off the leash,” you scoff.
Jungkook gasps, suddenly realizing how he came across and understanding your outrage. “No! I didn’t mean it like that! He was here first, so I simply wanted to ask him first.”
“I swear, you’re so annoying sometimes,“ you say, sounding way calmer now. You trust Jungkook when he says he didn't mean it. After all, you know him very well by now. He just sometimes speaks before he thinks.
Noticing you’re not genuinely mad at him, Jungkook hesitates a moment but can’t forget the fact that you didn’t exactly say no to his request yet.
“So… that means you’re willing to do it?”
Not even a second passes before an unerring "No" leaves your lips. “But why don't you just ask a girl who doesn't already have a boyfriend? I mean, you’re Jungkook. It shouldn’t be that hard to find someone who wants to be your date.”
“But taking you would be so much more convenient,” he groans, resembling Hyejin after being told she can’t eat any more chocolate.
“So, you’re lazy,” Taehyung states, speaking out what everyone else has been thinking anyway as he comes up behind you and wraps his arms around your waist, connecting them around your front.
“Well, yes, obviously. Do I have to spell it out for you?” Jungkook snaps, earning laughs from everybody else, even though he’s openly struggling here.
It is really outrageous that his friends never support him in anything.
And the fact that you and Taehyung can’t keep your hands off each other for more than two minutes?
The disrespect is ridiculous.
“I hate all of you for being in relationships and leaving me out. It’s so typical of you to do that to me,” Jungkook groans again after witnessing you giggling when Taehyung carelessly plants little kisses on your neck.
It's like you don't even notice he and Namjoon are still here with you.
It’s disgusting. And... yeah, okay, maybe it’s a little cute, but he doesn’t need to see this all the time. It makes him feel left out.
“Hey, Tae. Hit me up with Nari, will you?”
“What?” Taehyung asks, finally tearing his eyes from you in shock. “Why Nari?”
“Because she’s hot, and she’s sassy. Just like me.“ Jungkook shrugs with a smile on his face. “We’d be a power couple. And we’d beat all of you in literally anything.“
“We’re not having a competition, Jungkook,” you laugh. “You don’t have to beat us in anything.”
“The point is that I could with Nari if I wanted to.”
“Okay, first of all, you and Nari together would be my worst nightmare. I don’t even want to imagine it. Secondly, she’s not sassy, she’s straight-up mean to me, and third—” Taehyung halts for a moment, looking like he just realized something. “You know what? You’re right. She really is just like you.”
“Great, it’s settled then. You're going to ask her next time,” Jungkook smiles brightly, not caring about the frown on his best friend’s face.
“Wait, I didn’t say—”
“I think that’s a great idea!” You join in, interrupting Taehyung’s little protest as you crane your neck a little bit to look at him. “You’ll do that, right?”
Jungkook grins victoriously. It may be easy for Taehyung to say no when he’s the one who asks him, but he can never resist you.
And he’s right. Taehyung doesn't look particularly happy or okay with it, but in the end, he nods in agreement.
“Yes! Thank you, ___,” Jungkook comes running to you, cheering happily before planting a big kiss on your cheek.
“What about me? I’m the one who’s doing all the work.”
“She’s the only reason you said yes,” Jungkook simply states, ignoring the scoff that leaves Taehyung’s lips right after. After all, he knows he’s right anyway.
“Oh, before I forget, I need to go and discuss the latest Miraculous Ladybug episode with Hyejin,” Jungkook then says, already on his way to her room. “That Lila girl? I swear she’s making me so mad, ugh. I hope she finally leaves for good.”
The remaining three of you look after him for a while, not knowing what to say. It’s like Jungkook switches from adult to child in the blink of an eye, and he does it numerous times a day.
What a fascinating human being…
“I can't believe you're making me do this, ___.” Taehyung sighs. His voice is muffled due to him nuzzling his face into your hair.
“He does everything for you. You should show a little gratitude from time to time,” you argue, nudging his stomach lightly with your elbow. “The least you can do is hook him up with someone.”
“I’m doing it,” Taehyung sighs with an eye roll while you smile up at him. “You’re lucky you’re cute.”
“I know. I like to use my superpower for the common good,” you joke. Grabbing an apple, you finally take your stuff when you realize it’s time to leave for work already.
You give Taehyung a kiss, yell a loud goodbye throughout the apartment and hurry out, leaving the troublemakers alone for the next couple of hours.
Tumblr media
The drive to your parents' house was probably the most exhausting drive you've ever had to endure.
With Hyejin and Jungkook constantly fighting and bickering in the back, you and Taehyung seriously felt like you were in a car with two children until he started to join in and leave you to be the only adult — as always.
By the time you finally arrived at your driveway, the sheer exhaustion and annoyance can clearly be seen on your face.
“I swear, if you two don't behave now, I will—”
“Stop fighting! All of you.” You interrupt Taehyung, throwing each of the three an equally annoyed look. “I don’t wanna hear any more, is that clear?”
“But—”
“Not a word.” One last threatening glance at them, and you finally turn around, walking ahead to the door, closely followed by Hyejin, who’s sneakily slipping her tiny hand in yours. It's an attempt to appease you and apologize without actually having to do it.
You have noticed that this seems to be her little ploy whenever she tries to calm her bad conscience, and you’d lie if you said that you don’t find it cute. In any case, she already knows how to wrap you best around her finger, and at one point, this will probably turn into a problem. But for now, you won’t worry about that.
You’re not Taehyung after all, worrying about the future all the time.
You can hear the boys still argue behind you, and it takes a lot of self-control to not snap at them once more, but you somehow still manage to contain yourself.
Fortunately, the door being ripped open even before you have a chance to knock is what turns your attention away from them.
“You’re just in time,” your father's loud and enthusiastic voice greets you right before you’re forcefully pulled into a big hug. “Who would have thought you'd ever find your way back home again? I thought you forgot about us once and for all,” he jokes as he finally lets you breathe again.
“Dad, I call every week,” you say with a chuckle as you glimpse up at him.
You miss your parents, you really do. And you try to call as often as possible, but you have a life in Seoul. A life that no longer just revolves around you. And as ridiculous as it may sound, besides trying to help Taehyung, whose job has come to be very demanding for a special project, taking care of Hyejin, having a job, and at times even having to take care of two households depending on where you're staying for the time being, you just don't find the time to visit your parents properly. Even though you are not an eternity away from each other.
That's just the way it is, and you know that they don’t actually hold it against you. They always tell you how happy they are for you, and they love whenever you tell them about what’s currently happening in your life. Not once have they made you feel bad about not visiting enough.
And still, the fact that you didn't even find the time for more than a quick video call on Christmas gnaws at you.
All the better that you finally got everyone together to join the annual Jung Wedding Celebration Party.
For some reason, Hoseok's parents hold this event every year to celebrate their marriage with all of their friends and their families, and it’s such a wholesome and sweet idea.
When you were younger, Hoseok used to be so ashamed of it, and it always turned into the perfect opportunity for you and Jimin to tease him about it - even though you always loved attending these events.
This year, you're more than excited to go. It is the perfect way to properly introduce Taehyung and Hyejin to everyone you care about. Especially your parents.
Taehyung has been there before when you were video calling them, but that wasn't enough for your parents, and it wasn't enough for you either. Of course, there is nothing like a personal encounter.
And since it would be simply wrong to leave Jungkook out in this, you couldn't resist taking him with you.
“So good to finally meet you in person,” Taehyung appears right beside you, shaking your Dad’s hand with a big smile.
“Likewise, son, it was about time,” he says, mimicking his expression.
“I know. Really sorry it took so long.”
“Oh well, don't worry about it. Better late than never, am I right?.” Your Dad says as he pats Taehyung’s shoulder. “I know what it’s like to be young and in love.”
Taehyung halts for a moment and looks at you, seeing how you only shrug and smile at him after.
But before he can even say anything about it, you can hear your mother screaming with joy before she suddenly appears behind your father.
“Oh my goodness!” You hear her gasp loudly before you see her forcefully pushing your father out of the way. “Aren’t you just the cutest little thing I’ve ever seen?!”
Thinking that she spotted Hyejin, you look at your mother with a proud smile on your lips, only to be surprised when you see her squishing and patting Jungkook’s cheeks in adoration.
The boy, however, offers her his brightest bunny smile, giggling shyly while he blushes. “Aaah, noooo, ___’s Mum. I’m really not that cute!” He gushes, but it’s obvious how much he enjoys the attention.
“Oh shush, you're so adorable! Do you like apple pie?” She asks him, already taking his hand to drag him into the kitchen, leaving the rest of you just standing there in pure astonishment.
Where exactly did you learn your manners? Certainly not from your mother...
“Uh… I’m just gonna take a wild guess and say that was not Hyejin?” Your Dad breaks the silence, looking at Taehyung in question.
Before he can answer, Hyejin already makes herself known with a frustrated whine. “Nooo, I’m Hyejin!” She groans, stomping her little feet on the ground. “And I like apple pie too!“ she complains, obviously not happy with the situation.
You see your Dad’s eyes instantly soften as he smiles down at her, but your mother once again storms out of the kitchen and heads straight for Hyejin with quick steps. “Of course, Darling, I’m so sorry!” She gasps, quickly crouching down to her level as she inspects her.
“Oh my, aren’t you a beautiful little lady? And so adorable too.”
You smile, proudly resting your hands on the little girl’s shoulders while she giggles and kicks her head back to be able to grin up at you.
“___ made my hair. Do you like it?” She innocently asks your Mum while spinning around to show her what you have done to her hair.
“Oh, I can imagine. I styled ___'s hair the same way when she was your age, you know?”
Hyejin gasps as she looks at you with big eyes. “Really?”
“Sure,” you nod. “Where do you think I learned that from?”
“Come on in now. The pie is still warm, and you can eat as much as you want,” your mother then says, making a gesture with her hand to show everyone to come inside.
It doesn’t need more for Hyejin to happily run past everyone and join Jungkook in the kitchen, making Taehyung quickly apologize for her, though everyone just laughs about her eagerness.
You are especially happy that she seems to feel comfortable so quickly and is not shy at all, even though your parents are practically strangers to her. This makes you insanely happy.
Taehyung takes your hand, and you both follow everybody else into the house until you’re all gathered in the kitchen together, where Jungkook is already sitting at the table, happily eating away from the pie you should be sharing.
Tumblr media
Jungkook left to go visit his own parents before the party this afternoon after he ate almost all the pie by himself and had the best time with your Mum. Honestly, if you didn't know any better, you would say he is her long-lost son or something.
It’s a little cute, but also relatively creepy. You cannot explain.
Anyway, now it’s only you, Taehyung, and your parents talking about anything and everything and really getting to know each other while Hyejin is somewhere in the back, playing. Much to Taehyung’s dismay, however.
“Hyejin, no playing with your bouncy ball in the house, alright?” Taehyung warns the little girl after she almost broke a mug with it.
However, he doesn’t get far before your mother scoffs at him with a scowl.
“Oh hush, let the girl have some fun around here. It must be pretty boring for her anyway.”
“It’s just that she tends to be pretty clumsy from time to time, and I really don’t want her to break anything,” Taehyung explains, still watching her a little concerned.
So far, everything has worked out very well, and his daughter breaking your parents' stuff the first time they actually meet her and him is the last thing he needs.
“Oh well, we don't own anything worth protecting anyway.” Your father shrugs, making your Mum offer him a look that has him shut up in the blink of an eye.
It makes Taehyung chuckle beside you because it actually reminds him of him and you, and you seem to share his thought since you also quietly laugh when his eyes land on you.
“Although, this is not true at all,” your Mum says in a strict tone while still glaring at your Dad, “Kids must be allowed to be kids and play. ___ also broke all kinds of things back then. That didn’t make us poor either.” She says, winking at Hyejin before she turns back around to go back into the kitchen to continue making the tea she originally left for.
Your Dad seems to see this as an opportunity when he quickly bends down to Hyejin's height. “Hyejin, there is a huge green and red vase in the living room,” he whispers, only for her to hear. “How about you go and play near it? See how high and hard your bouncy ball can jump, eh?”
“Dad!” You seethe at him while keeping Hyejin close to your side.
Feeling caught red-handed, your father groans and rolls his eyes at you. “What? You know I hate that ugly vase,” he mutters as he glares at you.
“Then go and tell Mum that, or break it yourself, but don’t drag Hyejin into your schemes,” You scold him, hearing Hyejin’s little giggle.
He scoffs, looking as if you just told the world’s worst joke. “That woman actually thinks it’s pretty. She’d kill me!”
“Then I guess you’ll just have to live with it,” you laugh, shaking your head. “Leave Hyejin alone.”
You smile down at the little one and wink at her. “Do you want me to show you my old room? Maybe I have something in there that could be of use for you.” You realize that your mother is probably right. For children, there is hardly anything more boring than being surrounded by chattering adults.
She nods eagerly with the biggest smile already forming on her face, taking your hand and pulling you up from your seat.
You turn to Taehyung, place a quick kiss on his cheek, and tell him you’ll be right back before you let Hyejin pull you away and take her upstairs with you.
That leaves Taehyung now alone with your father, and even if he seems like a very calm and collected man, Taehyung sure is a little nervous. Especially now, when he looks at him with a testing glare, about to say something.
Just breathe, Tae, it’ll be alright.
“So, now that we’re alone,” he breaks the silence. “Let’s talk about the important stuff. What do you say?”
Taehyung knows that look, and he definitely recognizes that tone. Your Dad is about to test him. He's about to see if he’s good enough for his daughter and if he can trust him with you.
So he braces himself for the questions that are about to come, determined to win your father’s heart over and make him accept him as a part of his family - Accept him as the man by your side.
“Tell me, son,” your Dad leans a little forward in his chair to look directly into his eyes. He suddenly has a very serious expression in his eyes, which doesn't help Taehyung's nervousness.
“What do you know about cars, and do you like them?“ Your father then asks, leaning back in his chair again to muster Taehyung while he waits for his answer.
Uh… what?
Taehyung admittedly is a little taken aback, to be honest. He was expecting questions about his job, his intentions with you — even about his former marriage, but… cars?
“Darling,” your mother’s voice interrupts the little moment of silence he just shared with your father as she quickly comes back into the room with a fresh can of tea in her hands.
“What did I tell you? Please don’t bother him with your unhealthy obsession with moving vehicles.” She looks at Taehyung right after while she shakes her head with a sweet smile on her lips. It resembles the way you always smile at everyone, and it warms his heart to see it.
“Please excuse him, Taehyung. He’s a fan. He always gets a little anxious towards the weekend because he can’t be with his beloved cars.” She sighs, ignoring her husband's protest.
“Oh, that’s cool.” Taehyung grins. “___ told me a little about that, actually. But I’m afraid I’m not quite as knowledgeable in this area.”
Never before has he wanted more to know at least something about cars. And to be honest, he feels a bit betrayed because you didn't educate and prepare him enough.
“That’s alright, no worries. I’d love to educate you.” Your Dad responds, sounding eager already.
Not really knowing what to say, Taehyung only nods even though he’s not the biggest fan when it comes to cars. He likes his own, yes, but that’s about it.
“Taehyung, Darling, would you go upstairs and tell ___ to come down? I need to talk to her about something.”
Upon looking at your mother, Taehyung sees her winking at him with a knowing grin on her lips as she ignores your father’s protest once more. Nodding, he’s already on his way, drowning out your parent's bickering.
He likes your family already.
They’re welcoming and kind and overall even more friendly than he expected. It feels like he’s known them for years, and he’s so relieved to see that everything is running so smoothly.
It's hard to imagine how he would react if they didn't like him. It certainly would make him very uncomfortable, especially since he knows how attached you are to them. It's a good thing he doesn't have to worry about that anymore.
Taehyung finds you and Hyejin in the first room on the right once he reaches the top of the stairs.
You are about to unpack a pile of old Barbies with Hyejin that have obviously been stowed away in a box under your bed for years when you notice him in the doorway.
“Missed me already?” You grin while Hyejin stays unbothered and continues looking at the newfound treasure.
“Your Dad was just about to educate me on cars, but I think your Mum started a rescue mission and sent me up here.”
“Typical,” you groan, rolling your eyes. “He taught Hoseok and Jimin the steps on ‘how to do an oil change at home’ when I first brought them here. It was so damn annoying. Long story short, Hoseok found his calling that day, and Jimin was grounded for a week because he came home with his clothes drenched in motor oil.”
“Guess I can be called lucky after all.“ Taehyung chuckles, casually walking around to inspect your old room.
There is quite a lot to see here. For example, every wall is covered in photos and posters of celebrities you used to look up to.
The wall right behind a small dressing table is full of photos of you from years past. Most of them show you with Jimin, but there are some with a boy Taehyung doesn't know. He assumes this must be Hoseok, the friend he has yet to meet but has already heard a lot about.
It is fascinating for him to see what your life was like before he knew you.
Your old room truly tells a lot about what you were like as a teenager, and Taehyung finds himself consuming every detail of every single photo. He is so engrossed in it that he doesn't even notice when you suddenly stand next to him.
“I was pretty, huh?” You grin proudly, now also taking a look at your old memories. “I was quite popular before my accident. At least in terms of looks.”
Taehyung sighs as he slings his arms around you. “You were a pretty teenager, yes. Now you’re a beautiful woman.” Grinning down at you, he pecks your lips but doesn’t deepen it, knowing fully well that Hyejin is still in the room with you.
So he involuntarily lets go of you again and instead takes a seat on your bed while he watches Hyejin play with your almost ancient Barbies until he decides to lay on his back since he does feel a little tired from the car drive here.
But as soon as he stares at the ceiling and sees what's up there, he's immediately wide awake again.
“Babe.”
Confusion clear in your face, you turn your attention from Hyejin to your boyfriend when you hear the unpleased tone in his voice and find him laying in your bed, unlike a couple of minutes ago.
“Yes?”
With his gaze still fixed on the ceiling, he raises his arm and points upward, automatically making you look up as well.
You immediately cover your mouth with your hand when a loud snort comes through. You don’t know whether to laugh or be ashamed when your eyes fall on a life-sized poster with no one but Kim Seokjin printed on it, handsomely smiling down at you.
While you still desperately try not to laugh, Taehyung straightens up and pouts at you.
“I can live with all these photos of you and Jimin together. They don’t bother me, I’d even say they’re somewhat cute to look at, but this right here has to go. Now.”
At this point, you can’t help it anymore. You fall into a fit of laughter while he stays completely serious.
“Aww, come on… He looks too good in it for me to just throw it away.” You joke, knowing it only riles him up more, but you’re enjoying this way too much.
“Oh, you think that’s funny, huh?”
A cheeky grin spreads across his face, making you stop laughing abruptly.
This grin usually doesn't mean anything good.
“I was just joking. I didn’t even remember that it was up there. But I’ll throw it away, don’t worry.” You gradually step on the bed and rip the poster off your ceiling just to tear it to pieces right in front of his eyes afterward, making a proud smile replace the grin on his lips.
“Just so you know. This is peak toxic behavior. You’re literally breaking my heart right now. It hurts so much to be doing this to his handsome face. My inner seventeen year old is slowly dying.”
Taehyung only laughs, not taking your little rant to heart because he knows you don’t really mean it. Also, you’re very cute when you pout.
“The things I do for you, I swear.” You are still grumbling to yourself while you reluctantly stomp to the trash can next to your desk and carry the remains of your former biggest gem.
“I’ll make you a poster with me on it if you want. I look much better anyway.” He shrugs his shoulders while actually thinking about making one. He's a photographer, he's hot, and it's a flipping great idea. It's hard to believe he never thought of it before…
“No, thanks. I see you every day anyway.”
“Okay,” Taehyung scoffs. “And here you are, calling me a heartbreaker.”
With a small, contend smile on your lips, you walk up to him and cup his cheek with your hand. Right when Taehyung leans in, thinking you’re about to kiss him, you draw back again and lightly pat his cheek a couple of times.
“Suffer as I have suffered.”
And with that, you simply walk around him and return to Hyejin, who is still playing with your dolls, lost in thought, completely oblivious to everything going on around her.
Amused by your overly exaggerated response, he chuckles under his breath and shakes his head. This really has to be love because he still cannot wait to spend the rest of his life with you.
Tumblr media
It has been almost half an hour since you arrived at that place on the beach where the celebration is taking place. So far, you have met most of your old acquaintances, and among them are the actual hosts, which are Hoseok's parents. Even Jungkook has already found you and rejoined you after making a brief stop at his own family.
The only one you haven't seen yet is Hoseok himself, but knowing him, he's probably just busy with a dozen other people right now - you'll meet sooner or later anyway.
Nevertheless, there is one person here who you have seen from the beginning but still haven't spoken to. You just don't know how exactly you're supposed to walk up to him and if it would even be okay. And that's also the reason why you’re secretly just watching him whenever you get the chance to.
“You know you can go over and talk to him, right?”
You whip your head around with such force, feeling caught as you look at Taehyung, who’s wearing a neutral expression on his face.
Upon realizing you aren’t sure what to say, he sighs as he places both his hands on your shoulders and looks you deep in the eyes. “You want to talk to him,” he states. “Go. I’ll be alright.”
“No, it’s okay,” you shake your head. “You’re here with me, and I don’t wanna be disrespectful—“
“You aren’t disrespecting me by wanting to go talk to your friend, ___,” Taehyung states, purposely calling Jimin your friend instead of calling him your ex-boyfriend.
He is your friend, and Taehyung really doesn’t have a problem with you keeping in contact with him. Whatever happened before he was in the picture simply doesn’t matter. It’s in the past. You’re his now, and he’s yours, and nothing will change that.
“I’m gonna be okay for a while. I’ll just chill some more and get more of that amazing cake.” He declares, trying to make you see that he really means it. “And if I, by any chance, should get lonely, I still have Hyejin and Jungkook with me.”
In a sudden movement, you’re on your tiptoes and place a big kiss on his lips, kissing him for a couple of seconds. “Thank you for being so amazing,” you mumble against his lips, making him grin before he gives you a light push to silently tell you to go already.
You do, smiling at him one last time before you turn around and walk towards Jimin, who’s still sitting at that same spot, building what looks like a sandcastle with a couple of kids.
“Ugh, great Eunwoo!“ You hear him groan loudly as soon as you’re getting closer. “You just destroyed my flag! Do you even realize how hard it was to attach such a tiny leaf to an equally as tiny stick? Nayeon and I worked for hours, and you just stomped on it with your clumsy little feet.”
You watch as the little boy, probably not older than Hyejin, only glares at him before sticking his tongue out and walking away, making you stifle a laugh while Jimin only gasps and shakes his head in disbelief.
“Can’t believe you have a crush on this guy, honestly, Nayeon. You could do so much better.”
You clear your throat, trying to get his attention, and he turns around, looking at you with big eyes.
“Hey, stranger.” You grin, awkwardly biting your lip as you look at him.
“___!” Jimin immediately rushes to stand up, ignoring all the whines the group of little girls and boys let out when he leaves them sitting there to finish the castle without him.
You smile at him, jutting your chin at the kids sitting a few feet behind him. “Is this a bad timing?” You ask.
“No! No, I was just… uh—”
“Having a fight with one of your classmates?” You joke, laughing at the way he rolls his eyes at you.
“Let me guess because I’m childish?” He asks, smiling when you start to giggle slightly. “Yeah, very funny, haha. Try making a small flag using only the resources you find in this area, and then have someone destroy it right after. Then we’ll talk again.”
You cannot help but laugh at that, especially since he sounds and looks serious about it.
“You look great,” he then quietly notes after a moment of silence passes between you two. “Very healthy. Very happy.”
“Thanks. You do too. I’m actually here with Taehyung.“ You say, feeling stupid right after, but Jimin only smiles while nodding his head.
“Yes, I know. I saw,” he admits. “Wanted to come over, but… I didn’t really know if it’d be okay,” he chuckles, scratching the back of his head.
“Of course, it’d be okay,“ you say, frowning. “He’s cool with it,” you shrug.
Jimin looks past you briefly before his eyes meet yours again. “Hmm, sure. That’s probably why he can’t stop peeking this way and looks like he’s about to pee his pants.”
Turning around, you try to see what he means, catching Taehyung looking away quickly when he sees you looking his way. You bite your lip to suppress a grin at that.
“Shut up,” you chuckle, smacking his arm as he chuckles to himself. “Shall we walk a little?” You offer, and Jimin immediately complies, putting his hands in his pockets as you walk side by side along the beach.
“I was just kidding, by the way,“ he starts. “I’m sure Taehyung is cool. I just didn’t wanna disturb you guys. Thought it would be better to wait and see. Let you come to me if you really want to talk,“ he shrugs.
“I mean….We did say to keep in contact,“ you say, obviously aiming at something in particular, and you know that he knows what that something is as soon as he lowers his head in shame.
“Have you changed your mind about that?” You ask quietly, fearing his answer.
Fixing his eyes on you again, he shakes his head, looking almost regretful. “Of course not, no.”
“Then… why didn’t you answer any of my calls?”
“Well, the thing is… it’s even harder than I initially thought it would be.” He admits with a sigh, combing his fingers through his hair. “I’m not mad at you - or him. I really try to be nothing but happy for you, but... it’s not easy when I still have to deal with my own feelings, you know?”
“You could’ve told me, we could’ve talked—”
“No, that’s the thing ___,” he sighs. “There are just certain things that I can’t talk to you about anymore without it being inappropriate.”
You look at him with a pained expression, knowing he’s right even if you wish he wasn’t.
“So… what can I do about that?”
“Nothing, honestly. It’s not something you can change, really. It will come with time, I’m sure. Until then, I guess I'll just have to pull myself together.” Jimin shrugs.
“Have you… tried dating again?” You ask, not really knowing why. It’s just something you have been wondering about for a while now, seeing how there’s nothing and no one keeping him from starting over as you have.
Even if the thought somehow triggers a strange feeling inside you, he still deserves just as much to find happiness with someone else now that it didn't work out with you. He is not a loner. He never was. And it would really be a waste for someone like him to stay alone.
But Jimin deliberately shakes his head, denying your sly guess with wide eyes. “No, no. That’d be too soon. For now, I’m just… chilling. Trying to get my shit together, you know? It would be unfair to drag someone else into this whole mess when I have a lot of other things to deal with first. I shouldn’t get involved with someone else for as long as I’m not ready to focus on them completely.”
“Not even Minji?”
Even if you’re trying to sound as nonchalant as possible, the regretful expression on Jimin’s face when he whips his head around to look at you is hard to oversee.
“I’m not asking out of spite, don’t worry,” you giggle, trying to reassure him. “But she would be the most obvious if you’d be actively looking for someone wouldn’t she?”
Jimin clears his throat as he looks back down to his feet, both of you gradually making slower steps now.
“I honestly don’t think Minji wants anything to do with me anymore.”
“Don’t say that.”
“No, really. I wasn’t very… nice to her,” Jimin cringes, putting both of his hands in his jean pockets.
You shrug, obviously not taking the whole thing too seriously because you know it’s probably not as bad as he makes it out to be. “Apologize.”
“Yeah, well. As I said, I’m not looking for anything right now. So I’ll just concentrate on work and dance for the time being. And then I will see what the future holds.” Jimin answers, smiling a little while looking over the ocean.
You both came to a halt at a couple rocks a while ago, just chatting about this and that. It feels good to talk to him like this without it being weird or awkward. A couple of times, Jimin even asked some questions about Taehyung and Hyejin out of pure interest, and that makes you really happy.
It shows the two of you can really be okay and that one day it will be completely normal again to have regular contact without any strange atmosphere.
“We'd better get back to the party and the others. To be honest, I feel uncomfortable leaving Taehyung and Jungkook alone for too long. One of them will with no doubt end up with a black eye.” You tell Jimin, noticing how it has been quite some time since you left.
Jimin snorts loudly, sporting a bright grin as he jumps up from the rock to get back on his feet. “Sounds like you have a fable for chaos, eh?”
“Don’t flatter yourself,” you say, accepting his hand when he offers to help you up as well. “These guys are worse than you and Hoseok ever were.”
“Now, if that isn’t disturbing.”
You both share a laugh as you walk back to the scene. You didn’t walk far, so it doesn’t take you long to reach your destination, and you’re surprised to see that your boys seem to have already met up with Hoseok, who seems to be telling them something right now.
“—and then her pants ripped, and she flashed everyone her underwear. That’s when we knew she’s a part of us.” He finishes, making everyone involved laugh, including Jimin, who immediately recognizes the story even from a slight distance.
Your eyes turn wide when Hoseok's loud and bubbly voice reaches your ears, and you can feel your face getting warmer. “We agreed on taking this to our graves, Hobi. I can’t believe you would betray me like that!” You greet him with a light slap to his head, making him wince in fright before he catches your sly smirk and beams down at you.
Embracing you in his bone-crushing hug, he starts to laugh. “I thought your relationship is close enough that it's okay to tell them the story of how we three became friends.” Hoseok justifies himself.
You only roll your eyes and grin as you push him off of you to stand next to Taehyung, who is already pulling you closer by wrapping one of his arms around your waist.
It’s cheesy to say it out loud, but he missed having you close. Even though he was more than well entertained by Hoseok during the fourty-five minutes you were gone.
Even if it was his idea for you to talk it out with Jimin, he couldn’t help but wonder what you two were talking about. He would have liked to be there, but it was the right decision to give you some privacy. Still, he couldn’t keep his mind from wandering, and that was when Hoseok came around to distract him with his funny and open nature, acting as if they’ve been friends for years and as if Taehyung wasn’t the guy who got together with his best friend’s ex, causing said best friend a lot of heartbreak with no doubt.
Taehyung is amazed at how friendly everyone here is to him and Hyejin. Not that he predicted them to be rude or anything, but he did expect most of the people here would be a little more reserved towards him.
Nevertheless, he’s more than happy to be proved wrong.
“How have you been, ___?” Hoseok asks you, noticing how you immediately lean into your boyfriend as if it is the most natural thing for the two of you.
It makes him happy to see how genuine you are with each other. Until now, he only knew Taehyung from Jimin's stories, and although he described him as a nice and friendly person who will be good for you, it is still reassuring to see for himself that you’re in good hands.
“I’m very good, thank you.” You grin, subconsciously looking up at a smiling Taehyung. “What about you?” You direct the question back to him, pointing in Jimin’s direction. “Is he giving you a hard time?”
“Oh, we’re having so much fun together. Right, Hobi?” Jimin beams, slapping Hoseok’s back before he tightly puts his arm around his neck as if he’d keep him in a headlock.
It takes some effort, but Hoseok finally gets to throw him off with an annoyed look in his eyes when he looks at you. “He’s driving me insane, ___. How did you manage to live with him for years?! I’ve been doing it for not even a whole year, and he already carelessly broke several of my things and furniture. He even killed my fish.” Hoseok says with a plastic smile plastered on his lips that screams help.
You gasp loudly, looking at Jimin in shock, slapping his arm. “You killed Hope?!”
“Hey, it's not like I purposely killed him - it was an accident. So was Hope #2,” Jimin argues, rubbing the spot on his arm where you hit him. “Hope #3 wasn’t my fault, though. Even if Hobi insists on something else.” He adds, holding his hands up innocently.
You don’t even know what to say, being way too shocked as you look at Hobi, who gives you a confirming nod. “What a coincidence that he was completely fine until I left you alone with him,“ he mutters, kicking a stone with his foot.
“It really was a coincidence, though!”
“How do you even kill a fish?!“ You ask a little confused
Jimin looks at you with wide eyes, scoffing loudly. “The real question is, how do you not.” He scoffs. “Those things literally live in houses made of glass. I mean, it’s like they’re asking for it,” he uncomfortably laughs.
Before you can say anything to that, you can hear Jungkook snickering beside you. “He literally killed his Hope,” he notes with his signature wide bunny smile, looking at everyone individually to see if they’re laughing at his joke.
Unfortunately, but unsurprisingly for you, Jimin is the only one who does. It still makes Jungkook’s smile grow bigger with pride, at least until Taehyung pats the younger boy's back, quietly telling him to shut up.
You step a little closer to Hoseok and pat his chest. “I’m glad he’s your responsibility now. Good luck, Hobi. You’ll need it.” You chuckle, presenting him a wink.
He sarcastically smiles back at you as you laugh.
Your conversation is interrupted a short while later when the little girl from earlier suddenly appears and impatiently pulls on Jimin's sleeve, which attracts everyone’s attention.
She definitely doesn’t look happy as she stares up at Jimin with a frown on her face. “Are you coming back or what? Eunwoo is so annoying! He walked all over the moat and broke the bridge!”
“What? We did such a good job on that bridge!“
“I know!” She whines, already pulling on his sleeves again.
Jimin sighs before he looks at you all. “Sorry guys, I am needed for some important issue. See you later, alright?”
Just when he’s about to turn around and go with the little girl, he halts and looks like he’s thinking of something. You all watch in wonder as he tells the little girl to go ahead and then diverts his eyes on Hyejin. Crouching down in front of her, he offers her a little smile to try and break through her shyness.
“Perhaps you wanna join us?” He then asks her, raising a brow in question while still keeping a friendly smile on his face, especially when Hyejin tries to hide behind Taehyung’s leg as soon as he starts talking to her.
“We’re currently building a pretty neat castle right over there, and it’s going to be amazing once it’s done,“ he continues. “But it’s really a lot of work, and we could need an extra hand.”
This seems to pique Hyejin’s interest because she slowly comes out from behind Taehyung's leg and nods her head slightly. She slowly and uncertainly extends her hand to Jimin, who directly takes it with a broad smile.
“Would that be okay?” Jimin looks hopefully at Taehyung while he stands back up again with Hyejin’s little hand still holding his. “We’ll just be right over there. You can see us from here.”
Taehyung looks a little conflicted, but you slip your fingers through his own and offer him a comforting smile. “Don’t worry, you can trust him with her. Jimin teaches a group of children Hyejin's age at the dance studio in his free time. He’s really good with them.” You assure him, knowing Hyejin will be in good hands.
“Yea, go have some fun, dear.” Taehyung complies, ruffling Hyejin's hair and making her giggle loudly as she excitedly looks up at Jimin.
“Thank you. I’ll keep my eyes on her the whole time.” Jimin ensures, already being dragged away by Hyejin, who suddenly seems more than eager to join the other kids.
“Aaand off he goes,” Hoseok voices, chuckling at his best friend, who rather spends his time building sandcastles with kids instead of socializing with the other adults.
And while he and Jungkook start another conversation, you take the time to sneakily place a kiss right on Taehyung’s neck while mumbling a quiet “Thank you” in his ear.
He only pulls you closer, kissing the top of your head as a response before you join the conversation of the two guys.

Hoseok became an uncle just five months ago. Seeing his little baby niece for the first time was one of the things you were looking forward to the most, and she is also the reason you welcomed his sister as soon as you saw her in the crowd for the first time.
You introduced her to Taehyung, and she introduced both of you to Chaeyeon.
Now you've been in a conversation with Hobi's sister for more than fifteen minutes, and yet you only have eyes for the little bundle in her arms that won't stop smiling at you - and her Mum seems to notice that as well.
“Hm, she really seems to like you, ___. You wanna hold her for a second while I quickly go to the restroom?”
Taehyung sees the excitement in your eyes as you look up from Chaeyeon for the first time in a long time, nodding your head eagerly.
“Yes, please, if that is alright with you.”
“Sure thing, just please keep her away from Jimin,” she declares, rolling her eyes as she passes the baby over to you. “He was about to steal her earlier, and you know how Jimin can get. I don’t trust that guy at all. He never gives her back once he has her.”
She makes a serious face, but it’s obvious she doesn’t really mean it like that.
“Don’t worry, we won’t let uncle Jimin catch you, right? No, we won’t, we won’t let him catch you,” you speak to the baby, using your best baby voice while you poke her tiny hand with your index finger and rock her in your arms.
Taehyung just stands there, watching you intently as you interact with the baby, playing with her little hand as you hold her in your arms and smile down at her with a loving smile.
“Aaaaaaand, you’re imagining it.”
Jungkook’s voice is what suddenly pulls him out of his thoughts, making him blink at him in confusion.
“Imagining what?”
“Don’t act like that.” The younger man smirks. “Imagining her having your babies,” he teases, wiggling his eyebrows right after.
Taehyung sighs, simply looking at you again. “As if that’s a bad thing,” he mutters, trying to keep his voice low for obvious reasons. ”I’m a family man, and I do want more kids. It’s only natural that I wanna have them with the woman I love.”
“Oh, you’re so dreamy,” Jungkook sighs. “I think I’m about to cry,” he jokes, wiping a non-existing ear from the corner of his eye and earning a light punch to his arm right after, but both men laugh about it.
“Not right now, of course. In a couple of years, maybe.” Taehyung shrugs, smiling at you when he sees you looking back at him and waving the baby's chubby little hand at him as if she’s the one to do it.
“Ah, can’t wait. I’d love to be an uncle again.”
Taehyung smiles faintly, but the two don't elaborate on their conversation as you hand the baby back to its mother a short time later and instead rejoin them with a broad smile on your beautiful face.
“God, that was such a serotonin boost,” you sigh lovingly as soon as you reach them. “Did you see her chubby little cheeks?” You’re not talking to anybody, in particular, just longingly looking at her making grabby hands at Hoseok and Jimin now as they’re talking to Hoeseok’s sister, who’s still carrying her in her arms.
It’d be a lie to say you aren’t jealous they get to see her almost every day.
Feeling the warmth of Taehyung's body engulf you when he hugs you from the back and wraps his arms around your front, you allow yourself to fully lean into him and enjoy his embrace while you keep watching the guys play with the little baby just a couple feet away from you.
“Ugh, she’s so cute. Why do babies have to be so adorable? I just wanna squish her little cheeks all day long,” you sigh and turn your head just a little to see Taehyung already smiling down at you.
“Wanna go home and make our own?” He unexpectedly suggests, gradually leaning closer to your ear so no one else can overhear your conversation.
You can’t help but laugh at his comment. But even if you have to admit that it throws you off track at first, you can't deny that your heart certainly skipped a beat right there. “Excuse me, Taehyung, but what about ‘let’s take things slow‘ do you not understand?”
He tightens his arms around you to try and keep you in place when he feels you wiggling in his arms and chuckles in your ear. “I’m just kidding, don’t worry.”
You throw him a look, already seeing him smirk down at you.
“Or am I?” He cheekily whispers in your ear right after, earning a light slap to his arm.
“Stop this. Try to behave. I can’t take you anywhere, you giant man-child.” You joke, rolling your eyes while you’re already walking away to join your friends again, closely followed by your whining boyfriend.
“I’m just kidding! I didn’t mean it.” His laugh sounds more like a whine as he follows you, desperately trying to keep close.
“Oh, he’s so not kidding,” Jungkook mumbles to himself, shaking his head as he watches the two of you act like teenagers.
You didn’t even notice him standing right next to you and being able to hear every word. Pathetic.
“Being in love must be amazing, huh?” He mutters, looking down at the little dog, which somehow appeared out of nowhere, sniffling his shoe. “Ew, what the heck. You’re an ugly one.“ Jungkook contorts his face in disgust as he watches the little guy drool all over his shoe.
“That’s not nice.” A soft male voice suddenly appears, making him look up again.
He’s surprised to see that it belongs to Jimin. The older guy just picks the happy little fluff ball up into his arms and grins brightly when the dog starts to wiggle in his grasp.
“Perhaps he’s not the brightest and sometimes forgets to put his tongue back into his mouth. And he’s severely cross-eyed for some reason, which makes him look a little stupid, but he’s not ugly.” He counters, cuddling his face into the little dog's fur.
Jungkook feels a little ashamed, even though Jimin doesn’t look mad. He's still sorry for insulting that little guy in his arms, which actually does look kinda cute now that he’s looking a little closer.
He starts petting his head a little awkwardly in an attempt to apologize, giggling when he starts to lick his wrist.
“See, he’s very friendly after all.” Jimin chuckles as he puts him back down.
There is a brief moment of silence between the two before Jimin takes the initiative and says something first.
“You’re Jungkook, right? You’re here with ___ and Taehyung.”
“Yes, I’m the third wheeling disruptor.” Jungkook jokes, making Jimin laugh slightly as well.
“Fun.”
“I made it sound worse than it actually is. I’m from Busan too, so I connected this trip here to visit my parents and some old friends again as well as meeting ___’s.” Jungkook briefly explains, watching Jimin nod understandingly.
“You all must have a pretty tight bond, huh?”
“Well, Taehyung has become my brother, and ___ just fits perfectly into our little group. She’s the ideal addition to us like it was fate or something. Everything is a hundred percent better now, even if we were already happy before too.”
Jungkook finishes with a chuckle when he realizes just how cheesy that sounds, but it is what it is in the end. And at times, it really seems as if you had been summoned just by seeing how happy you make not only Taehyung but especially Hyejin.
“That’s very good to hear. She deserves a happy and loving family. It’s what she always wanted.”
Hearing Jimin's response, Jungkook is reminded that the man he is telling all these things to is actually someone who has been through all this with you before. And all of a sudden, he wonders if telling Jimin about all of this might come off as a little insensitive.
He doesn't want to rub in Jimin's face how his best friend got the girl instead of him and that he makes her really happy.
For a while, Jungkook and Jimin just stare at each other without saying anything, and it’s really awkward. The thing is, while Jungkook feels awkward because he just now realized he’s talking to the Jimin and fears he’s violating the bro code, Jimin is currently debating in his head if this Jungkook guy is having a seizure or something.
“Uh, are you okay?” He asks somewhat cautiously because he isn’t sure if this guy is scared of him or just about to shit his pants for some other reason.
He seemed completely fine a second ago, so what’s his problem now?
“Yes.” Jungkook struggles to answer since he’s kind of holding his breath now as well, resulting in him slowly getting dizzy.
Okay, he can’t do this for much longer, but how is he supposed to get out of this situation now?
To his luck, Taehyung also appears out of nowhere, looking as confused as Jimin when his eyes land on his best friend. He was just getting another beer while you got stuck in a conversation with Hoseok and his family when he saw Jungkook looking like he was about to die. So he decided to be a good friend for once and see what was going on with him.
To be honest, he regretted the decision halfway through.
“Do you need a restroom, buddy?” Jimin tries once more, sharing a look with Taehyung, who has yet to say anything.
With Taehyung here now as well, Jungkook just feels completely overwhelmed. He just hopes Taehyung doesn’t think he replaced him or something.
Growing quite concerned by now, Jimin instead turns to Taehyung, who’s calmly sipping from his beer as he enjoys the show.
“Is he alright?”
Looking pretty unbothered, Taehyung just nods. “Oh, he’s just Jungkook,“ he says. “We never really know with him.”
And suddenly, Jungkook runs away, leaving the two boys to stand there on their own.
“See? He’s fine.” Taehyung smiles.
Jimin returns it, shaking his head a little in disbelief. Maybe what you said earlier about these two being even more chaotic than him and Hobi really wasn't an exaggeration.
It’s getting late now, and the sun is slowly going down. You probably won’t stay for that much longer, and Jimin hasn’t had the time yet to talk to Taehyung alone. He’s happy he might have gotten his chance now. He just hopes Taehyung is up for it as well.
“Thank you.”
Surprisingly for Jimin, Taehyung is the one who says something first, rubbing his upper arm a little awkwardly when their eyes meet.
“For what?”
“For including Hyejin earlier.” He says, clearing his throat. “She was extremely happy about that.”
“My pleasure. She’s really talented, by the way. She can build a mean moat, let me tell you.”
Taehyung and Jimin both fall into a fit of quiet laughter before Taehyung takes another sip from his beer bottle.
“If anything, I should thank you for trusting me with her.”
“___ trusts you,” Taehyung says, sounding pretty unbothered. “And if she trusts you, I have no reason not to.“
Jimin nods at that. Taehyung’s answer does not come as a surprise to him. In fact, it was pretty predictable. But he’s still happy Taehyung seems to share his interests in keeping things as friendly as possible between them.
The atmosphere surrounding them is still uneasy, and Jimin guesses it will probably be like this for a while, but at least they can act like decent human beings, especially when it seems to mean a lot to you.
Taehyung clears his throat again, seemingly wanting to say something, and Jimin looks at him in suspense.
“Look, I know I’m probably not your favorite person,” he feels his cheeks getting hotter when he sees Jimin watch him carefully. “But… you’re very important to ___, so I guess…you’re important to me too? Uh—”
Taehyung halts to cough in discomfort, realizing how stupid he sounds. He should have thought about what exactly it is that he wants to tell him before approaching him, seeing how he’s not the best with words.
Unfortunately, that realization comes a little too late.
“Wow,” Jimin breathes out, awkwardly patting Taehyung's back a few times. “I’m not gonna lie, that’s probably the most uncomfortable anyone has ever made me feel uhm… Well, I still appreciate the effort, Taehyung.”
“Ugh, can’t you just—” Frustration clear in his voice, Taehyung looks at the slightly older guy, whose enjoying his flustered state a little too much. Taehyung can clearly see the smirk he’s trying to hide.
He must feel so superior right now, huh?
“I was trying to apologize, and it would be really nice if you could just… not make it harder than it already is.”
Jimin laughs at that, his eyes forming two little half-moons and a little dimple appears on his cheek.
“Hey, if you're already as much as taking my girl, you at least have to deal with the fact that I'm not going to make it too easy for you.” He jokes, grinning brightly from ear to ear.
It’s obvious he doesn’t really hold a grudge against him, and Taehyung can feel the relief wash over him from the realization.
“I’m just kidding,” Jimin then says, suddenly looking a little more serious while still keeping a friendly smile on his face as he puts a hand on one of Taehyung’s shoulders. “There isn’t really anything you have to apologize for. You make her happy, and you treat her well. That’s all I care about.”
“Wow,” Taehyung says, copying Jimin’s earlier expression. “You’re a good liar.”
Surprised by Taehyung's rebuke, Jimin halts and looks at him with big eyes before pressing his lips into a line and nodding his head slightly.
“Fake it till you make it, eh? I wish you all the best, though. I really do.” He promises, and Taehyung doesn't even notice the slightest detail that might indicate he's not serious.
He’s not done yet, so Taehyung stays put as he waits for him to continue. “I want to be nothing but happy for her - for you both. But I’m still human... and I can’t change my feelings, I’m sorry. It will probably take a while for me to reach that state.”
“I’m not blaming you for that, and I know she doesn’t either. I don’t even want to put myself in your shoes. It must suck to see the person you love be with someone else.”
“Christ, you really don’t apologize much, do you?” Jimin mumbles, side-eyeing him.
“That obvious?“
“Yes. You’re shit at building people up.” He shudders and takes a big gulp from his own beer bottle, which had been forgotten until now. He looks at the ocean with a sigh, being fully aware of Taehyung’s penetrating gaze on him.
“Maybe I'll get lucky, and all your hair will fall out or something. That would do a bit of justice at least.”
Taehyung scoffs, cocking one brow as he watches the older guy dreamily looking at the horizon.
“Wouldn’t change a thing, bro. I’d still be handsome as fuck.”
For the first time, Jimin laughs loudly, turning his head to look at Taehyung, who also tries to bite back his grin.
“Fuck you, man. And to think you're probably right about that too...”
Clicking their beer bottles together, they laugh as they stare at the water.
For a bystander, they probably look like two guys who have been friends for years, casually having a drink together as they talk about the memories they shared together when they were younger.
Taehyung even has to admit that he is almost enjoying this moment right now.
Jimin is not a bad guy, and he knew that before, but he is actually pretty cool. He has a sense of humor and is easy to talk to. That is more than Taehyung expected before he met him for the first time.
“Although it makes things harder for me, I'm glad you're at least a cool guy, Taehyung.” Jimin’s quiet voice suddenly reaches his ears, making him guess that the older guy must’ve had a similar thought process just now.
He turns his head and sees Jimin looking at him with a half-smile that doesn’t reach his eyes but still looks friendly enough to make Taehyung realize he means what he’s saying.
“Do yourself a favor and love the shit out of her, trust me. You won’t regret it.“
Taehyung sighs, wavering for a while to clear his head.
While he cannot sympathize with Jimin's pain since he has never lost someone he loved, he can still imagine how hard it must be for him. Just the thought of not holding you in his arms one day makes him anxious and is just plain cruel. And then having to get along with the guy who took his place instead? Unimaginable.
Taehyung doesn't really realize until this moment how much you must mean to Jimin when he is ready to try to get along with him. He hates to admit it, but he admires Jimin for his effort.
“You know, under different circumstances, I'm sure we could be good friends.”
“You think so?” Jimin is surprised by Taehyung’s rash statement. Especially since it came out of nowhere, but even when their eyes meet, he doesn’t look like he’s joking around or regretting his words.
“Yea. You’re pretty okay, and I feel like we share many similarities that would make us good friends.“ Taehyung shrugs, making Jimin’s smile grow a little wider. “I mean if we get past the fact that we're both in love with the same woman.”
“Someday then.” Jimin offers, holding his bottle up once more with a content smile on his lips.
“Someday.”
The two men toast to that and fall into a comfortable silence right after. It isn't that awkward anymore, and Taehyung is sure that this conversation was needed. He doesn't want bad blood with anyone, and he really meant what he said. Nothing speaks against having a much better relationship with each other one day. This is probably also in your interest.
“Should I be worried?”
Speak of the devil, your voice suddenly rings out, getting louder as you’re slowly approaching the two men.
You've been watching them for a while, but you didn't want to bug in. It didn't look like your intervention was needed, so you just let them do their thing and held back. However, it looks like they're done with whatever they were doing there, so you thought it was okay to come over.
Taehyung turns to you first, with a soft smile. “We’re just talking.” He responds as he already spreads his arms to make room for your body like he always does. He just loves to hold you close.
“Are you getting cold?“ He then asks when he notices how the wind is slowly getting stronger. It is also getting colder now that the sun is setting. Not to mention that it's still only spring and nowhere near as warm as summer, to begin with.
“I’m fine, but we should leave soon anyway. Hyejin is about to fall asleep on Jungkook’s back, and I think he’s also getting tired. He has been carrying her for a while now.” You tell him, feeling sad you have to leave already even though it was a long day and you have been here for many hours.
It's still a pity that you're going back to Seoul tomorrow morning when you would actually like to spend more time with your family and friends.
Lost in thought, you’re just standing there engulfed in Taehyung’s embrace when you see some guy walking past you.
And even if you at first do not pay any attention to him, your two companions immediately notice how his gaze lingers on your face.
When you also catch his stares, you raise a brow in question to ask him if he has a problem, but you hear an annoyed grunt right next to you.
“The fuck are you looking at?” Taehyung instantly barks at the guy, making you flinch in astonishment. At the same time, you hear Jimin grunting out an equally annoyed “Fuck off, man. Nothing to see here.”
Surprised by their sudden aggravation, you look at them and see that they already exchange surprised looks with each other as well.
Taehyung is just about to say something and opens his mouth before Jimin interrupts him.
Wide eyes looking between Taehyung and you, he raises his hands in surrender while taking a step back. “I’m sorry, I was just—I’ll back off. Looks like that’s your job now, and you’re perfectly capable of it. It was just force of habit, I guess.”
Jimin chuckles awkwardly, hoping he didn’t start something now. He knows his place - he really does. It’s just that he sometimes subconsciously wallows in memories, and situations like this one with the dude giving you a dirty look, trigger something inside of him. It is not easy to break old habits, and calling people off for being rude, was one of his favorite boyfriend duties while being with you. But it’s not his place to do that anymore.
You also look a little nervous, daring to glance at Taehyung, who has an unreadable expression on his face. But then bubbles up a chuckle in the midst of shrugging his shoulders. “You know what? In cases like this one, I really don’t mind.”
You don't know what they were talking about before you joined them, but the way they interact now, laugh, and even joke with each other makes you feel good about all of this.
And even if you know that everything is still a bit chaotic and that it will probably take a while until it isn't anymore, it means the world, knowing that Taehyung and Jimin are trying to get along for your sake.
Better yet, you get the feeling that not only are they doing it for you, but oddly enough, they even like each other.
You will be okay.
They say beauty fades with time, but the truth is that there are many kinds of beauty. Each person has a different conception of it, but something you should never forget is the beauty of life in itself.
You found yours in someone who loves and supports you. Someone who would do anything for you as you would for him. Someone who gave you a family in times when you thought you were at your absolute worst.
You found it in Hyejin, who is pretty much the most perfect little gift and without whom you would never have achieved any of this. And you have found it in a bunch of wonderful friends (both new and old) who you can always rely on.
You will all be okay.
And what the future holds is uncertain, but you know that a beautiful one awaits you as long as you get to spend it with your little bunch of slobs.

Still Want You [Jin x Reader]
28. No Son of Mine - Part 1 ✎
You can’t help but smile when you walk into Tae’s living room, two steaming mugs of tea in hand, to find him still pouring over the script. If you had a free hand, you’d snap a picture of him for the group chat. Jimin and Jungkook would roast him endlessly but you know they’d be proud too. Tae has worked so hard. He deserves this.
He barely looks up when you set the hot mug in front of him and you have to stifle a giggle when he lifts the hot tea to his lips and burns his tongue.
“Careful,” you say belatedly, “it’s hot.”
“Thanks for the warning,” he grumbles, swiping at his lips with the back of his sleeve.
You settle down on the floor between the couch and the coffee table, wrapping your palms gingerly around the hot ceramic, and grin at your best friend, “Where did we leave off?”
Tae eagerly points to a random line on the screen that you don’t remember reading at all but you shrug and rattle off your line. You’ve been at this for about an hour now — and you’ve read scripts with Tae a million times before this — but the novelty never wears off. Maybe it’s because Tae’s eagerness never wanes.
He’s wanted to be a professional actor for about as long as he’s known how to walk. He has been in every school play and he would have auditioned for child roles if his parents would have let him. You know he’s faced a lot of resistance with them but maybe this will finally prove to them, once and for all, that he has what it takes.
“y/n!” Tae calls, waving his fingers in front of your face. You blink at him and he rolls his eyes, “Line.”
“Sorry!”
You are mid sentence when the front door swings open and Jin steps inside. Despite the fact that you both left the club hours ago, he doesn’t look like he’s had time to clear his head at all. You bite your lip nervously when he stops in the middle of the living room staring at you and Tae blankly.
“Hi, hyung!” Tae chirps, his tone light, like nothing bad happened at all today. You glance at his face and you can see the uneasiness in his eyes but if anything, this once again proves his acting chops.
“I made tea,” you tell Jin, “Do you want some?”
He doesn’t say anything but he nods ever so slightly and you’re on your feet, off to the kitchen, away from your nerves and the tension your boyfriend has brought with him. You aren’t sure what the damage is yet but it must not be good if he can’t even speak to you.
You’re certain Hobi wouldn’t have told Jin what happened. He’s too ashamed but it’s still possible he could have made you look like the bad guy even though you were just trying to help. And a lot has happened since then. Hobi could be mad at you for any number of reasons in the years since then.
You suck in a deep breath and pull another mug down from the cupboard, filling it with warm liquid. You have to go back to the living room now and face the consequences of whatever happened tonight but you just hope there’s a way forward that doesn’t involve Jin losing his best friend and coming to resent you for it.
As you walk back towards the living room, you hear Jin say, “He told me she’s playing me. That the only reason she’s with me is because I treat her like her dad did.”
“Man, no offense, hyung, but fuck that,” Tae snaps, “he’s just mad because y/n knows his big secret. y/n loves you for you. She knows you could never be her dad and she would never want you to be.”
“She’s told me a couple times that she felt like her dad sent me to look out for her though. I wonder sometimes if maybe the line gets blurred for her,” Jin sighs.
You grip the mug tightly, ignoring how it burns your skin.
He really thinks you’d get your feelings for him confused with missing your dad? You try to see it from his perspective before you get too irritated. You have talked a lot about how he makes you feel safe and how there are certain things he does that do remind you of your dad. But you always thought of it as your dad giving his blessing, not that Jin was there to replace him.
“You’ll have to ask her about that but I definitely wouldn’t take Hobi’s word for it of all people,” Tae says.
You take this opportunity to step back into the living room, before they go any further down that rabbit hole without you.
Jin is sitting on the floor beside your abandoned mug of tea and he smiles tiredly when he sees you. This all must be so exhausting for him trying to figure out what the beef is between you and Hobi and being met with resistance at every turn.
He reaches for the mug as you come around the table again and carefully sets it down on the wood grain. You bite your lip, knowing his mom will be mad if he leaves a ring on her furniture, but then his hand is in yours and he’s pulling you down to him.
“Thank you,” he whispers, pressing his lips to your temple before he turns back to the tea and takes a careful sip.
“I don’t want you to treat me like my dad,” you tell him, deciding it’s better for all of them to know you overheard their conversation, “That’s not why I’m with you.”
Tae starts to gather up his things and says, “I’ll give you two some privacy.”
“Actually,” you stop him, “I’d like you to stay. It’s time to talk about Hobi.”
Tae settles back down and crosses his arms over his chest. “I would just like to state for the record that I have been tolerating Hobi because y/n asked me to but I do not like him.”
You narrow your eyes at him, “Tae, you can just admit that he said something out of anger and held a grudge for a really long time and you’re mad about that but he’s still a family friend who you have conflicting feelings about.”
Tae raises a finger to stop you from rambling on, “That takes way too long to say and he told you he hoped your dad died and then a week later he did. I don’t like him!”
“He WHAT?” Jin roars. His eyes are blazing and you shoot Tae a scathing look for bringing up the part about your dead dad before you’ve had a chance to explain the events that led up to that comment.
To Jin, you offer what you hope is a pacifying smile and pat his hand until he calms down enough to listen.
“It’s not like he murdered my dad,” you reason.
“He manifested it!” Tae argues.
The two of you scowl at each other again. Maybe you shouldn’t have asked him to stay for this after all and you’re just about to tell him so when Jin asks, “If you knew what he said to her, Taehyung, you should have told me when it happened.”
“y/n asked me not to!”
“I don’t give a shit what y/n asked you to do. If he said that to her, you should have told me!”
Tae bows his head, cowed, and mumbles, “Sorry, hyung.”
Jin turns back to you, obviously holding back his frustration just enough to ask you, “What happened?”
You drop your gaze to your lap. Pulling your hand from Jin’s, you toy with imaginary loose threads on the hem of your dress. This is a big story and you need the words to come out right.
Stealing a deep breath, you begin, “So the drama teacher used to let Hobi use the theater’s sound boards after school to record and one time, I came early to set up for one of the plays and he was still in the sound booth. That’s how we started working on the plays together. And that’s why I started to develop a little crush on him.”

Tumblr media
Jimin had left that night when you and Taehyung had broken up. He couldn't bear looking into his eyes, knowing that he caused all this hurt to both you and him.
But when he walked back into the apartment the next day, he quietly sat down next to Taehyung for the first time since he found out about you and him and found Taehyung smiling at him.
Despite that, Jimin could tell that it didn't reach his eyes.
Throughout the next weeks, their relationship got better again. Still, he caught Taehyung stare at his phone so often and whenever the message from that special someone didn't come, he put it down and closed his eyes, visibly disappointed and sad. Jimin never mentioned you to him in those weeks, not knowing how to even bring it all up, but Taehyung didn’t seem like he wanted to talk about you anyway.
Simultaneously, Jimin tried calling you multiple times, but was never able to get a hold of you.
It was only when his mother finally called and told him that you had come home that he decided to drive up to Busan in hopes of mending the relationship with you... if that was even possible at thit point.
You weren't there when he arrived though.
“Where is she?” he asked his mother as soon as he stepped foot inside the house.
“I don’t know... she went out a few hours ago and hasn’t come back since,” his mother fidgeted with the kitchen towel in her hand, “I’m worried, Jimin.”
Jimin knew were you were.
Where you always were when you were upset and couldn’t stand being at home.
It was only a 10 minute walk to a secluded area at the beach where him and you used to spend all your childhood at. You often knocked heads with the family and whenever you did, you came here to think. The only one that you ever told about this place was Jimin, the only one in the family that you always knew you could lean onto.
Funny how times had changed.
And indeed, there you were, sitting in the sand, staring out at the beach, not moving a muscle when he sat down next to you.
That’s a good start, right?
Jimin tried to find the right thing to say, but he couldn't. Nothing made sense when it was all his fault, when he was simply too proud to see you and his best friend dating, thinking that it was somehow wrong.
But what was wrong was you and Taehyung feeling this way because of him. He had only seen Taehyung, but he saw how heartbroken he was. He could only imagine what you must feel like, as Taehyung was the one that broke up with you... for Jimin.
“I looked up to you my entire life, you know? Way before you became an idol, even. Every time someone would ask who I wanted to be when I grew up, I answered Park Jimin. People would laugh, but I didn't care, because you were my biggest hero. You were the one person that always made people happy, were always happy to bring smiles into people’s faces and where always there when I needed you. And I was always so proud to call you my brother,” you turned your head to look at him, him looking right back at you with wide eyes, “Now I wish I didn't even know you.”
“You don't mean that,” he said quietly, but his voice broke nonetheless.
“I guess it doesn't really matter anymore.”
“It does,” Jimin instantly grabbed your hands, “Please, listen to me. Let me explain why..-”
“BigHit was very kind and introduced me to someone from Marvel. They offered me a role in their newest movie,” you interrupted him mid-sentence.
BigHit? Jimin was taken aback at first, but then his blood instantly started to boil, knowing damn well they did that because they wanted you to leave for Jimin and Taehyung to mend their relationship, even if it meant further breaking that of him and you.
They couldn’t care less about your relationship with Jimin.
“I'm leaving next week and if things go well, I might stay. Being a Hollywood actress surely isn't so bad.”
“(Y/N), listen to me,” he shook his head to get BigHit out of his thoughts, “I just want you to..-”
“No, Jimin,” you got up, him instantly doing the same, “I don't think you realize just how much I meant what I said before.”
“But we're family! Stop saying these things, they don't make sense,” Jimin was a very emotional person. He couldn’t hold back his tears when he realized you were slipping out of his grasp fast. You were still staying strong though, “You're my baby sister. The one I'm always supposed to protect, the one that I can't lose...”
You gulped down hard, knowing the impact of what you said next, “You already have.”
You walked away after that, not being able to see the dispair in his eyes, before he slowly crumbled and started sobbing.
And even though you wanted to be cold, when you walked away, a few tears escaped your eyes, knowing that you just lost the love of your life and brother in a matter of weeks.
But that was ultimately the reason why you had to leave. The loss of such important people, where everything reminded you of both, you wouldn’t be able to function anymore. So you decided that leaving was the best option.
Your mother must have known about this beforehand, because when Jimin walked back into the house, she instantly opened up her arms for him, her son cradling against her chest and crying into it like he was a young boy again.
“It’s going to be okay... she’ll forgive you,” she whispered into his hair, gently rubbing over his back, “Just give her time. Time and space is what she needs most right now.”
He knew that she was right, but not doing anything and just letting you leave was so fucking hard for him. He ended up staying at his parents the entire week, not knowing what to do with himself otherwise.
And it was only when he came home a week later and you had already left for the US, that he looked right into Taehyung’s eyes and knew he had to be the one to tell him that you were gone.
“Hollywood,” he repeated, a small smile spreading on his face. Jimin couldn’t see his eyes, but he assumed that it didn’t reach them, “She always dreamt of that.”
“Yeah... she did,” Jimin gulped down hard and continued to stare at Taehyung, because he could tell that he wouldn’t hold out for much longer.
And indeed, within seconds, he started sobbing, so hard, that Jimin instantly pulled him into his arms and tried to calm his shaking body best friend down.
And once again, all that Jimin could think was: this is all my fault. I destroyed their lives... their future.
In all these months that you were gone, Jimin didn't give up, even if his mother told him that it was no use. He kept trying to text and call, not caring that you never responded. The only way he could see was through promotional photos from set, through interviews and the only way to really know what was going on with you was when his mother told him about it.
With each and every day you slipped more and more away from him, until one day he realized that he completely lost you, yet Taehyung was right at his side, holding his hand at a concert and smiling at him, showing him that he was still here... because he chose him.
Taehyung chose him over you.
And as Jimin was looking into his best friend’s eyes, filled with tears, Taehyung instantly knew what he was thinking about... or rather who.
Not wanting ARMY to catch on, Taehyung pulled him into his arms and held onto him firmly.
“It's my fault,” he whispered into his ear, “We lost her... because of me.”
And unfortunately, he was right.
That night, Jimin and Taehyung sat down together on their balcony at home and talked about the entire thing for the first time... ever.
“How did it start?” Jimin asked.
Taehyung was hesitant at first, but then he started pouring his heart out, seemingly happy that he was finally able to share this story with someone, “It was when we had a concert here years ago. She came to watch it and I was having a really bad day. I locked myself in a room and just cried... or at least I thought I locked the door. She walked in on me having that mental breakdown. And you know her... she worried like crazy,” he let out a laugh, “She always worried about me. Right from the start.”
“She got that from our mom,” he said with a small smile.
“She stayed with me that day until I stopped crying, held my hand and told me that things would get better again. And the next day, she texted me this entire paragraph about how good I was doing and how proud she was, not just of me, but of the band. I felt... really bad about her worrying so much over me, so I asked her if she wanted to have dinner with me. She agreed, but then we couldn't agree on a restaurant and ended up eating Ramen at the Han. We talked all night long... just talked...”
Jimin listened tentatively, but his eyes became sadder within each second again, especially when he saw how much this still affected Taehyung. The more he talked about you, the more his eyes lit up, but then that flame quickly disappeared again when he realized this was all in the past.
“We did that once a week, then. Just meeting up to talk. We did nothing else for four months. And then one day I looked at her and I realized that I had fallen for her... without me even having noticed it. It just hit me right in the face. Like... wow. I really love that girl, you know?”
“Did you tell her?”
“Couldn't. I felt really bad for even having these feelings. Because... you know,” he looked at Jimin, but he didn't say that it was because of him, “I hid it for months until she called me one night, completely drunk and asked me to pick her up. I did, drove her home, got her into bed and that's when she began crying, poured her heart out and told me that she had fallen in love with me, but hated herself for it, because she knew that loving me would hurt you. And she couldn't hurt you, not when you meant the world to her.”
Great, he thought this couldn't get any worse.
“We put the cards out on the table a week later and realized that we only had two options. End it before it even began or try and keep it a secret so that you wouldn't get affected by it. We picked the second option and promised to not tell you until we warmed you up to the idea. But... that obviously hadn’t worked out.”
Jimin gulped down his drink in one go, swirled it around in his mouth for a moment, then quietly said after a moment: “Why'd you choose me when you loved her so much?”
A question that he had always wondered about.
“I thought it was the right decision.”
“You thought?”
Taehyung looked up at the stars, “You did so much for me in the past... I wouldn’t be here as the person that I am if it hadn’t been for you. So at the time, it made sense. But now that I see my empty future... I see that I fucked up. Because she was my future.”
Jimin didn't reply, just lowered his head in shame.
“I even bought her a ring, you know?” Taehyung laughed, though only to hide the hurt, “But that's on me that I didn't give it to her. I thought I still had time.”
“Maybe you do.”
Taehyung looked at his best friend, the sad smile back on his face, “It’s easier to forgive a brother than it is to forgive someone like me. And I can’t even blame her,” he pulled out the ring from his pocket, a beautiful ring that looked a lot like an engagement ring, but Jimin didn’t ask any further questions, “I’d pick her any day now over everything and everyone. But I don’t have that chance anymore. So all I hope for now is that you and her will be happy again.”
Jimin sighed deeply, “If I could turn back time, I would. I would do things differently, give you my blessing and tell you that I'm happy for you.”
Taehyung just leaned back, still playing with the ring as he continued to look up at the stars, “I know you would.”
Tumblr media
You had successfully avoided your family for a while now, always putting your career first and not looking at anything other than. Your parents were often angry, up until you literally flew them out because there was no way you’d step foot into Korea again so soon.
But while you were now one of Hollywood’s upcoming actresses due to your hard work, your oldest brother had found love and was getting married. And well... this one, you couldn't get out of.
“Thanks for coming,” your brother hugged you when you finally arrived at the venue, “I missed you so much.”
“I missed you too,” you smiled, “And I'm so happy for you. I can't wait to finally get to meet the lucky woman.”
“Ha, you're just saying that, you'll tell embarrassing stories about me the moment that you meet her.”
You just wiggled your eyebrows, then smiled even brighter when you heard your mother let out a loud squeal and pull you into her arms, your father hugging both of you, not wanting to wait any longer for his daughter to be in his arms.
“Finally, my beautiful daughter,” she leaned back a little, tears in her eyes, making you and your brother chuckle.
“Mom, you're not supposed to cry yet.”
“Ah, stop it,” she hit your brother and then turned him around, “What are you even doing here, you need to get ready. I'll help you. And you? Don't run off, alright? I want to spend some time with my daughter.”
“I won't,” you chuckled and watched them disappear, your father just following them with a chuckle.
And of course, there was one person missing in the mix. Should have known that he’d show up sooner, rather than later.
“You look beautiful,” the voice made you take in a deep breath, then let it out once you were looking at him.
He wasn't the confident man that you once know standing there. He was unsure, nervous, sad, but at the same time, happy to see you.
“Thank you.”
“I wasn't sure whether or not you'd come. If I had known..-”
“Don't be ridiculous, you're his brother too.”
“I wasn't talking about me.”
A second later, Bangtan joined him, Taehyung immediately stopping when he saw you.
After all this time, you thought that you were over it. You thought that if you were to ever see him again, you’d just keep your cool, smile and be graceful about it, but your heart seemed to break all over again.
If it hadn’t been for Jeongguk, you maybe even would have started to cry as all the memories were flooding back in. Especially the ones about the break-up.
“I saw your movie,” Jeongguk beamed, “You were so cool!”
“Thanks,” you shook your head a little, now focusing on the youngest member so that you didn’t have to look at either Taehyung, nor Jimin anymore, “I should.. probably go inside and say hello to everyone.”
Jimin took a step forward, his hand reaching out, but then he quickly dropped it, just like his shoulders did.
None of them were affected by you, only Jimin and Taehyung. Both of them were left standing there, even though the others followed you inside.
Taehyung was the first to speak: “I shouldn't be here. I'll only make her uncomfortable.”
“No, please. Please, stay.”
It was the desperation in his eyes that made Taehyung nod, ultimately.
Still, he didn't feel like he belonged here anymore. Not when he broke your heart and ruined so much in your family.
And throughout the entire wedding, he couldn't focus on anything but you. And as if you could feel his eyes burning into the back of your head, he often found you turn around to look at him, Taehyung quickly averting his gaze to look somewhere else instead.
On a more positive note, the celebration was beautiful, your brother's wife was glowing and he was the happiest you had ever seen him. Even if you had wanted to leave early... you couldn't. You had missed this, missed him, missed your mother and father, missed the memories all these three brought you.
And if you were being honest... you even missed Jimin.
A conversation that you had with your mother a while ago came back:
“He visits a lot these days, you know? Jimin, I mean. He always goes up to your room and makes sure that it’s cleaned... just in case you’re coming back anytime soon.”
“I won’t,” you said plainly.
You heard your mother sigh on the other end of the phone, “You know, (Y/N), I will never presume to know what it must have felt like, your brother doing this to you and your partner betraying you like this. But do you want it to be like this for the rest of your life? Do you want to hate Jimin forever?”
“I don’t hate Jimin,” you hadn’t even thought about it, were even surprised when you said it, “I just.. don’t know how to forgive him.”
“You won’t know until you talk to him again, my love. You can ignore him for the next years to come, but you won’t come any closer to forgiving him. So if that is truly what you want... then talk to him.”
And so after you gulped down your champagne and took a deep breath, you walked outside and joined your brother that was standing on his own.
“So, you'll be the next to get married?” Jimin was so surprised when you started to talking to him as he was getting some fresh air outside, but you didn’t look angry. Maybe unsure of how to talk to him, but not hostile.
“What? With whom?” he laughed nervously, “I haven’t had a girlfriend in years.”
“Ah, I'm sure mom has a few girls that she's eyeing. What was that one girl’s name... the daughter of the baker.”
“Please, don't. I still have trauma from that awkward date that she forced on me,” you both snorted and suddenly the atmosphere between you felt like what it once was. And Jimin hated to ruin it, but he had to know: “Are you okay? I mean.. we haven't talked in a long time and I only hear what mom tells me.”
“You know how it is when your career is at its peek. A lot of stress, but a lot of rewards too.”
“I wasn't talking about your career, I was talking about you.”
You pondered over your next words for a moment, then you said: “I had a lot of time to think about everything. About my life,” you began to smile, even if only just a little bit, “I don’t know when I’ll be able to look at you and not feel hurt. But... when I look at you now, I also realize that I’ve missed you. And if my heart tells me that, then I can’t really hate you, right? So I would like to... I don’t know. Talk. A little. Maybe.”
And his entire stance changed instantly. His shoulder slumped, he began taking in a sharp breath of air and he was on the verge of tears.
“No, don't cry,” you shook your head, even let out a little laugh, “I’m just saying that I’d like to try again. You’re my big brother and... mom is right. I don’t want to spend my life trying to hate someone that I still love. Deep down.”
“I'd like that,” he said, pressing his fingers into his eyes when he couldn’t control the tears anymore.
You just smirked.
Tumblr media
The wedding was slowly dissolving. The first guests had left hours ago and now it was only the family left, but even those were beginning to say their goodbye’s.
At a table, Bangtan was sitting with your brother, laughing wholeheartedly.
But one person was missing.
You walked back into the room where your brother and his wife had gotten married and found him standing at the altar, staring at it.
It was hard for you to come up with something to say, so you just waited until he finally noticed that you were here.
“Always thought I’d see you in a hall like this with a wedding dress on while you’re walking towards me, you know?” Taehyung said with a sad smile.
“It probably would have been like that if you hadn’t chosen my brother that night,” you approached him, to Taehyung’s surprise.
“Yeah, I don’t think he looks as pretty as you would in a wedding dress.”
This caught you off-guard. So much, that you actually began to laugh.
He always knew how to break the ice.
“Did you know that he used to wear mom’s dresses and play teaparty with me when we were kids? I thought he looked really pretty.”
“That’s very valuable information that I will bring up at the right time, thank you very much.”
Given your uncomfortable and awkward hello earlier, he hadn’t expected you to talk so casually with each other, but... maybe time healed some wounds.
Taehyung wanted to take a step forward to be closer to you, but he wasn’t sure if you were okay with that, so he just stayed right there.
“I regret it every single moment of my life, you know? Every waking moment I think of you and hate myself for what I did to you. For what I did to us.”
You didn’t reply, just gulped down the clump in your throat.
“If only I had made the right choice that day... if only I had tried to convince Jimin that I was good for you and that you would be safe with me... then maybe it would have been us standing here today.”
In regards to Taehyung, you also had a lot of time to think. Whereas you always just felt hurt in the beginning, you tried to put yourself in his shoes eventually.
What if it had been Taehyung’s sister that objected so much to your relationship that you knew it was either her, your best friend, or Taehyung? Would you have picked him and thrown away a year-long friendship?
Would you have picked him over the girl that knew your deepest and darkest secrets? That walked through hell and back for you? That loved you unconditionally and would forever, no matter what?
The answer to this question was the reason that you were the one to take a step towards Taehyung.
“But it is you and me standing here today.”
His breathing got uneven, even more so when you took another step towards him.
“How can I fix this, (Y/N)?” he whispered, “I’ll do anything... I swear, anything.”
You reached out until your hand cupped his cheek, your thumb brushing over the softness of his skin, “I don’t know how long it would take...”
Taehyung wrapped his hand around your wrist, making sure that you didn’t pull back.
“You have my life, (Y/N). I don’t care how long it takes, I will do anything to convince you that I’m not making the same mistake twice.”
It wouldn’t be easy, forgiving him, nor Jimin was something that you could do in a matter of minutes. But you wanted to try, so that your heart could finally get rid of all the hurt and hate.
So you wrapped your arms around him and hugged him, breathing in the scent that instantly brought back memories, but this time, all the good ones.
And so you smiled, Taehyung pulling you closer and burying his face into your neck.
“I’m so sorry, beautiful.”
And while the two of you were standing at the altar, hugging, Jimin was standing in the entryway with a smile and let out a happy sigh.
“Please be happy together... because I love you both so much.”

BTS Reaction: When Your Child Says Their First Word
Jin:
“Appa, can you say appa for me baby, please?”
You smiled watching as Jin sat your daughter down in front of him, sounding out the sounds for her to speak, he sighed, watching as her mouth stayed shut.
You chuckled, walking over to sit beside him, “you can’t force her to say something she doesn’t want to, she’s a baby Jin.”
“But I want her to call me,” he groaned, rolling his eyes as she giggled, telling the frustrations in her father made things worse.
“She’ll get there,” you assured him, “you’ve been practicing with her, so it’s only a matter of time, isn’t it Y/D/N?”
“Eomma.”
Your eyes widened, looking across at Jin who sighed in despair. “Seriously! All the time I taught you appa, and eomma is your first word, that’s not fair.”
Your arms wrapped around her, raising her high into the air. “I always knew that I was your favourite parent, you’re such a smart girl.”
Jin’s head shook, “I can’t believe I’ve been betrayed like this,” he frowned, “appa better be her second word or I’ll be gutted.”
“You better get her practicing then.”
Yoongi:
“I think it’s about time you went to bed.”
Yoongi followed your son as he crawled around, yawning his head off as he waited for one of you to take him off to bed so that he could sleep.
You smiled, watching him scoop him up, “sleep,” he giggled, tickling his waist, “is it about time that Y/S/N went to sleep.”
“I think we should sleep too,” you sighed, standing up from the sofa, “he’s had me running around the house all day, I’m exhausted.”
“Do you think mummy and daddy should go to bed too?” He asked your son, grinning widely as his smile grew.
“Sleep.”
Both of you froze, listening to him repeat the word a couple of times, “Y/N, was that his first word? Please tell me I’m not dreaming.”
“No, I really think sleep was his first word,” you chuckled, resting into Yoongi’s side, “you’ve obviously taught him well in that case.”
Yoongi smirked, kissing the top of his son’s head, “it’s definitely time we put you to sleep, you’ve had a very successful day.”
“I can’t believe he just said his first word.”
Hoseok:
“E. G. O. Ego. Can you say it for me baby?”
Your eyes rolled as soon as you walked into the kitchen watching as Hobi encouraged your daughter to speak whilst feeding her dinner to her.
You sat down beside them both, “you’re going to have to teach her softer sounds first, that’s hard for her to understand.”
“She just needs to practice,” he assured you, meeting his daughter’s eyes as her lips parted, staring across at him.
“She looks like she wants to say something,” you noted, joining him by her side, watching her smile grow, holding closely onto her toy.
“Ego.”
Both of you turned to look at each other, the sounds were loose, but it was clear to you both what she had said. “I knew she’d do it if I helped her out.”
You chuckled, as Hobi scooped her up into his arms, “I can’t believe you got her to do that, clearly she has her favourite parent already.”
“She’s the best,” he chimed, pressing a kiss to her cheek, “I’m so proud, she actually just said her first word, did you hear?”
“I did, I can’t believe it was ego.”
Namjoon:
“Something really special happened today, have a look.”
You held your phone up to the laptop screen, showing a video you’d taken of your son. “He looks so grown up; I wish I could be there.”
“You wait until you watch this,” you told him, pressing play on the video as you followed your son around the house.
“I’m watching,” Namjoon told you as he leaned into the camera to watch closely, watching as his son’s mouth opened wide.
“Appa.”
He froze, as you replayed it a couple of times to hear it clearly. “Someone must be missing their daddy, it was his first word Joon, he wanted to ask for you!”
He frowned, shaking his head as tears brimmed in his eyes, “I can’t believe I missed my son’s first word, what sort of father does that make me?”
You sighed, “you can’t help being away. You know when he grows up, 0he’ll be so proud of all that you’ve achieved Joon.”
“I hope he still says it when I come home.”
Jimin:
“Say hello to everyone then sweetheart.”
The boys’ eyes lit up as Jimin walked into the studio with your daughter in his arms. Each of them rushed around, holding onto a part of her body.
Namjoon smiled widely, “she’s getting so big, it’s scary sometimes how much she’s growing,” he commented, watching as you nodded in agreement.
Jimin grinned, waving her hand, “are you going to say hello to everyone?” He asked, hearing her little giggles echo in response.
“Say hello to us,” Taehyung cooed, taking a hold of her hand, “show mummy and daddy that we’re your favourites after all.”
“Hi.”
The room erupted into cheers as the squeak of her voice spoke for the very first time. “She actually said hello!” Jungkook laughed, pressing his palms together.
Jimin’s eyes met yours, “I can’t believe she said her first word for these six idiots and not for us, it’s not fair.”
Your head shook, “let’s just enjoy the fact she said her first word rather than getting jealous of these boys for now.”
“I’ll never get her to say appa now.”
Taehyung:
“And these are all of daddy’s fans, they’re the best.”
You walked into your son’s bedroom, finding him sat in Taehyung’s lap looking through an old scrapbook Taehyung had, pointing out to all of the fans.
Your frame perched on the end of the bed, looking at what he was showing him. “It’s going to be a long time until he really realises what all this is.”
“I’m teaching him,” Taehyung chuckled, “I’ve been trying to get him to say army for a while, I always said I would.”
“I’ve been listening,” you giggled, capturing your son’s attention. “Y/S/N, do you know what all of daddy’s fans are called?”
“A-army.”
The book was dropped, Taehyung picked your son up, twirling him around the room, “I always knew you’d say it if I taught you for long enough.”
Your head shook in disbelief, you knew how much Taehyung dreamed of this moment, but never did you think it would happen.
His smile had never been so wide, “If army is the only word he can speak for the rest of his life, I’ll still be a happy man.”
“Army really is everything to you, isn’t it?”
Jungkook:
“Look who’s here to say hello, fresh from a nap.”
You lifted your daughter up so that Jungkook could see her on the screen, waving as she tried to grab through the screen to take a hold of his hand.
Jungkook’s smile grew, waving to his little girl, “hi baby,” he cooed, only wishing the screen wasn’t between the two of them.
“Who is it?” You chuckled, bouncing her in your lap, hearing her light giggles. Jungkook’s heart broke, knowing you were so far away.
“Y/D/N!” Jungkook shouted to get her attention, making several funny faces on the screen to try and make her giggle.
“Appa.”
You looked as she repeated the word one more time, tapping against Jungkook’s head on the screen. “Did I hear her right? Or is the connection dodgy?”
“No, you heard her right,” you quickly told him, looking at her innocent smile, unaware of quite what she had just done.
He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, being so far away from the two of you. “I can’t wait to hear her say that in person.”
“We can’t wait for that either Kook.”

The florist who created Jimin’s Parent’s Day bouquet posted about the experience of creating the flowers!
Tumblr media
Jimin is such a loving and dutiful son. 💜
Because his father is a public figure, we often see his interactions with Jimin. It’s nice to remember how much Jimin loves his mom, too!

PROLOGUE
Spring of Sophomore Year - 11:52pm
"If it gets any hotter in here, we'd need jackets to enter the fucking gates of Hades."
My stellar observation goes by unappreciated, but I'm not shocked. The music thumps heavily through the house at a deafening decibel and the only methods of communication are screaming or sign language - I had done neither.
Earlier, when my roommate Luna told me about this particular party, I had hesitations for several reasons:
This party is being held at the Beta Tau Sigma (BTS) house - a house known for its wild parties, excessive drinking, and dangerously attractive brothers.
I am not a huge fan of the aforementioned features or the trouble that always seems to accompany them.
It's Harry Potter Weekend and I am going to miss the fucking Goblet of Fire for this.
Long story short, Luna convinced me to go with her with promises of pizza and our own Harry Potter marathon tomorrow. Her promises in mind, I square my shoulders and motion for Luna to follow me to the slightly quieter kitchen on the other side of the living room.
As we cross the crowded room, Luna tugs on my wrist and tilts her head subtly towards the corner where four very large, very attractive guys are playing a rowdy game of beer pong, while three (equally attractive) others lounge against the wall watching. Taking a closer look, I notice that the two at the far end of the table seem to be winning. The one with light pink hair takes his shot and curses loudly when he misses. Annoyed, the other shoves him out of the way, lines up to shoot, and pauses. Our eyes meet.
A shiver runs down my spine as his dark gaze rests on me. His jaw is clenched and chiseled, his lips are set firmly but wickedly full. His black t-shirt stretches over wide, solid shoulders and I can almost make out the muscles that ripple beneath. His right arm is still poised to take his shot, and I can't help but notice how his bicep strains the fabric of his sleeve and how his large, tanned hand completely dwarfs the pong ball.
I barely remember to breathe as I realize his gaze is making his own assessment of me. I can feel his dark eyes rake over me, and it makes my skin buzz. His eyes trail over my black crop top down to my ripped black jeans, and blatantly checks out my legs.
Suddenly, his pink-haired partner elbows him, shattering our little moment. Shakily taking a breath, I turn to Luna who has an eyebrow raised at me. She grabs my hand and practically drags me into the kitchen. I sip my drink and fight the urge to look back.
The minute we enter the mostly empty kitchen, Luna whips around to face me, "Were you just openly eye-fucking Kim Taehyung, (y/n)?" I choke on my beer.
"Who?" I croak, still coughing to clear my windpipe of what I'm certain is shitty Natty Light. Rolling her eyes, Luna shakes her head at me like a disappointed parent, "Kim Taehyung. You know, the pledge master for BTS? Was just with his frat brother Park Jimin?"
She pauses dramatically, seeming to be waiting for some kind of response. I stare at her blankly.
Scoffing, Luna continues, "They were the ones playing pong just now, dumbass. The blue-haired one is Taehyung. You know, the one you were mentally undressing-"
"Okay," I cut her off, "I'm sorry to say that I haven't paid much attention to the members of our 'legendary' fraternities."
Pretending like I never interrupted, she resumes, "-with your eyes. Everyone knows who they are. You just live under a rock that you call the library..."
I close my eyes and pray for deliverance as Luna trails off.
"Can I get you another drink?" A deep voice definitely not belonging to Luna breaks the short silence. Opening my eyes, my vision focuses on the voice's source – a cute BTS pledge. His eyes are focused entirely on Luna, who suddenly seems unnaturally shy. She sends me a searching look, and I nod in response. Smiling, she turns back to the boy, "Yeah, I'm Luna by the way, and this is (y/n)."
“Jaehyun," he answers, giving me a head tilt while placing a palm on Luna's back. He slowly guides her from the kitchen towards where the keg was in the living room. Sending a glance over her shoulder, Luna meets my eyes and I wave my phone at her as a silent reminder to update me. She winks and disappears into the living room.
Sighing, I lift myself onto the kitchen counter to give my feet some reprieve from these heeled boots and reapply my blood red lipstick using my phone camera. Satisfied, I check the time.
12:01am. Not nearly late enough for Luna to want to leave - especially now...
Suddenly, a now-familiar buzz sizzles across my skin. Drawing my gaze up from my phone, two unopened cans of beer held by long, strong fingers meet my vision. I drag my eyes up past thick wrists and corded arms. Up goes my gaze past flexed biceps, across a broad chest, and finally my eyes meet his.
He looms over me, all broad and imposing.
"Hey," his husky voice - just slightly deeper, raspier than Jaehyun's - murmurs, "I'm Taehyung. I brought this for you."
Taehyung's intimidating; his stare is direct and unwavering. Heat rolls off him in waves, and if this party was hotter than hell, that must make him the devil.
Our fingers brush as I accept his slightly outstretched offering, and I swear I would feel the reoccurring zings for the next week. "Hey, thank you. I'm, uh..." I trail off, Taehyung's dark eyes staring at me from this close make me seem to lose all power of speech. God, do eyes that color really exist? Apparently, they do – deep brown mixed with flecks of amber, hypnotizing.
I clear my throat and try to force my last two brain cells to work together, "I'm (y/n)."
He's smirking slightly now, the gesture pulling forth the cutest flush of pink in his cheeks, "Nice to meet you, (y/n)." And I swear he says my name like he's caressing it, tasting it for the first time.
Damn, he's unholy. Where is my snarky, inner bad bitch when I need her?
"Did you win your game? Seems like you might have been a little... distracted," I smirk, there she is. I crack open my beer and revel in the emitting hiss.
A flicker of heat bursts through those brown eyes as he leans closer still, enveloping me with his intoxicating cologne. He smells like autumn woods with a hint of fresh lemon; he smells like trouble.
Taehyung sets his beer down and places his arms on either side of me - caging me in. "Things were going just fine 'til this girl came strutting through the room in some tight fucking jeans," his tongue flicks over his lower lip, "So, yeah, you could say I got a little distracted."
"I do not strut," I object, narrowing my eyes at him - daring him to contradict me.
He's undeterred, "Yeah, you do, jagi." His eyes are full of mirth and he's clearly enjoying getting a reaction from me, "It's hot."
I bristle, unsure if I should accept that 'compliment' at face value, "Does this work on most girls? You know, the whole cornering her while you give her lame compliments thing?"
He looks surprised for a second, but then his head tilts back and he lets out one of the most endearing laughs I've ever heard - all unrestrained and unabashed pleasure.
Still chuckling, he tilts his head, eyes darting all over my face - lingering on my lips, "Where did you come from, (y/n)?"
Within seconds we're making out like unsupervised high school students, right in the middle of the damn kitchen. I let out an embarrassing moan when he bites my bottom lip then sucks on it. Expertly coaxing my lips apart, his tongue meets mine in a feverish tangle while his hands grip my waist - pulling me into him.
The way that Kim Taehyung kisses is unlike anything I've ever experienced. It's hot and demandingly deliberate with a possessiveness that sends a ripple of electricity through me. I'm playing with fire, making out with him, but at this moment I can't find it in me to give a single fuck.
Blazing lips suck and bite at the side of my neck and –
"(y/n)?"
The franticly questioning voice draws nearer as I open my eyes and tear myself away from Taehyung's wicked mouth. Luna's there, peering around Taehyung's shoulder, and I can immediately tell that something is seriously wrong.
Shoving Taehyung away from me, I jump down from the counter and stumble - completely forgetting I was in three-inch heeled boots. Taehyung’s hands shoot out around my waist to stabilize me, "Whoa, easy there, (y/n)."
"Get your lecherous paws off her, Kim," my eyes dart to Luna, shocked at her tone but proud of her vocabulary, "(y/n), we have to go."
"What's going on?" I'm at a loss, and I hate it, "Are you okay? Where's Jaehyun? Do I need to chop his dick off?"
Taehyung lets out a choking sound beside me, but I pay him no mind - chicks before dicks, hoes before bros, besties before testes, etc. etc.
"What I'm planning is much worse," Luna mutters with a strange glint in here eye as she pulls me away from Taehyung and levels him with an icy stare, "Listen, Kim, I know all about your little task for the pledges. Seriously, forcing them to get with as many girls as possible before they get their letters? Are you that much of a chauvinistic asshole?"
I whip around to face Taehyung, who seems to have become intensely interested in his beer, "Is this true?" He says nothing. I stalk up to him, shoving a finger in his chest, "Is. It. True."
His beautiful, guilty eyes flicker up to meet mine, and my heart sinks.
"Fuck. You." My words come out as a whisper but are still vicious enough to make Taehyung stagger back.
With that, Luna and I stalk out of the party - heads held high and arms linked.
Returning to our dorm, we make a pact to avoid all frat boys and christen it with pizza. She never tells me how she found out about the stupid pledge task; I'm smart enough to know that she must have had her reasons.
But I wasn't smart enough to stop thinking about Kim Taehyung.
I played with fire.
I should have known I'd get burned.

A/N: Hope you guys like this and are still interested in this story after so long between updates! the last few months have been kind of a struggle for me getting out of china during the coronavirus stuff, every single one of my family members was quarantined for 2 weeks besides me, but luckily none of them ever came down with the virus and they’re all okay! I hope we all are able to remain healthy in the next few months.
Also, it’s worth noting that namjoon and Jimin's manor house is not on the map provided in chapter 2! That manor house is a different one! this chapter is a little heavier in the plot and family sweetness vs. the Yoongi x reader romance. hopefully, you don’t hate it!
Part 1    Part 2
Tumblr media
- You have no idea what the dragon council will decide. If they’ll let you keep Hoseok or decide that it’s better if he remains with his own kind. and that- not the dragons you might meet or the thought of being in a city that hates your kind- is what scares you the most.
- It’s a fear that Yoongi shares, but you try not to let it bother you- or to let Hoseok know that you’re scared. All of you ignore the possibility that Hoseok could be taken from you. But because of that, you also ignore the first missive summoning you to the council.
- For the second missive, the council deemeds it best (given how Yoongi had received the first emissary) to send a messenger hawk. You ignore that letter as well, but the next one that comes delivered while the four of you are away for the day off to a nearby village for the few things that Yoongi can’t get via plundering, contains less than cordial language.
- There is another smaller message tucked into the scroll, written personally for Yoongi and not ‘Yoongi windborne, commander of the western battalion’ or whatever title the council decided to give him after the last war (it hardly means anything- the dragon council’s garrison hasn’t been called in well over 100 years).
- The note is small and in a scrawl he recognizes: Come and visit! Jimin misses you. I hear you have a son now? And a mate? We’d both love to meet them. Namjoon’s chicken scratch writing is still the same after all these years, Yoongi flips over the other side of the note. I’m trying my best, but I can only hold them off for so long – KNJ
- Though it’s been years since the last time they spoke, and even longer since they’d seen each other in person, Yoongi’s heartstrings tug uneasily as he thinks of Namjoon sticking up for him in front of the other councilmembers. Once upon a time, Namjoon had been one of Yoongi’s lieutenants, though they’d been much more than that, the horrible business of war binding them closer than friends and more like family.
- He, Seokjin, and Namjoon had all found each other during the last war. yoongi had been without his family by that point, and searching for a cause- anything really- to occupy his eternity. Yoongi had been appointed as a commander after he’d been successful in a few minor battles. Namjoon had been assigned to his battalion, a dragon from the north with no formal training come south to prove himself.
-  Seokjin brought to the same place as a medic who owed allegiance to neither side and only wished to make the war less bloody. Yoongi was the only commander that allowed Seokjin into his camp, as he was stalwart about treating both sides, enemy and friend alike, and yoongi was the only commander who would support him doing both. They’d been fast friends, outcasts among the ranks, and they were friends still.
- After the war they’d all scattered to different parts of the globe, Namjoon- because he had a dream- a dream to make the world better, and like all fools, had decided to go into politics. A mixture of grief and hopeful sorrow (and love- endless love) had driven Seokjin north.
- Yoongi still remembers it, the day that they’d paused on their march to join another battalion settled in for a warm afternoon in the human kingdom. the world so flat deep into orchard lands and taken refuge in peach fields that had turned to ashes in the coming months as the war had ravaged the countryside. He remembers hearing the shout, Seokjin leaping up from where he’d been reclined against Namjoon’s cool side, the dragon barely shifting let alone actually shifting.
- Yoongi runs with Seokjin, seen the teen- the young man sitting below a ladder, a knife meant for cutting peaches from their tree embedded in his arm. he’d seen the way that Seokjin had looked at the man as he pulled it out, the wide boxy smile as the human marveled at Seokjin’s magic.
- There is a reason why Seokjin never comes south anymore, the peach fields remind him too much of Taehyung not to hurt.
- But maybe Taehyung and Seokjin’s story is better placed for a different time.
- Yoongi like Seokjin, hadn’t wanted to go back to the city, too used to being on his own at that point. And still- the guile of war hadn’t ebbed the grief of losing his own parents. It’s rare now, that Yoongi thinks of them time finally healed those old wounds. When he looks at you- he knows he has a new family now, and this one he’s determined not to lose.
- They’d lost contact mostly because of Namjoon’s appointment to the dragon council- a feat in its self for a lowborn tundra dragon from a tribe like Namjoon. Yoongi hadn’t bothered pushing the contact- knowing that they’d remain friends no matter how much time separated them. He’s glad that’s still true even now.
- Over the next few days, Yoongi mulls it over, but he knows he can’t outrun the council forever. Fall has already gripped the mountains by the time Yoongi finally takes the four of you to the dragon city to meet with the council.
- Both you and Jungkook greet the awaiting hundreds of thousands of dragons with something like mixed trepidation on your part and wonder on Jungkook’s. Hoseok is another matter: he clutches at your hand the whole flight to the city, both he and Jungkook tied tight between your legs for safety. And though Jungkook might nod off most of the time lulled to sleep by the gentle up and down movement of Yoongi’s back in the sky. Hoseok curls close to you, nuzzling into your shoulder periodically. Glad to be so close.
- He can’t fly yet, but you know from the way his wide red eyes look at the puffy clouds that he’s feeling some sort of call to the wind that both you and Jungkook are immune too.
- Well... maybe Jungkook feels it too in some way. When he’s awake and not curled up, he and Hoseok shout into each other's ears over the sound of the wind, sometimes holding out their hands in mock flight.
- Your hands remain firmly around either of their waists, holding on harshly to a support rope in front of you. Somehow you don’t think you’re ever going to get used to flying, your stomach dipping with every new headwind.
- The journey is long and hard- but you couldn’t imagine making it on foot if flying takes a week. The first two days you don’t escape the frozen mountains; you’re lucky for Yoongi’s warm back between your legs to keep you from really feeling the cold. You keep your same old shawl- the first one that Yoongi gave you wound tight around your neck.
- before you’d left Jungkook had found his old baby blanket shoved deep in an old chest of Yoongi’s with a few old storybooks, It had surprised both you and Yoongi when he’d found it- and started wearing it much like you wear your shawl. “It has my name on it- so it must be mine” he’d said, proud over the fact that he could read.
- Hoseok had looked a little shy and unsure, fingering the red scarf whenever he can, until you’d gone to the nearby village to get some supplies for your journey and gotten him a matching one. Though his is blue so dark it’s nearly black, and has a hood that he can tug up to hid his horns if he ever needs too!
- He’d hopped up and down when you’d given it to him, wanting you to scent it before he put it on, snuggling down into in and hiding his mouth in it with a little happy dragon noise. He and Jungkook look like quite the pair, Jungkook’s black hair and red shawl, and Hoseok with his red hair and black shawl.
- You pass over woods on the other side of the mountain range, dotted with waterfalls and visible streams that grow over the next few days into rivers that wind in and out of view. You start to spy hollows and carefully carved out dens in the few mountains you pass, or even nests. You pass over tall hills dotted with red poppy fields and farmland, and even camp in one late at night.
- The tall blooms hanging over your heads as you sleep in your sleeping bags. you wake at first light with red petals dotting your hair, Jungkook and Hoseok sleeping on as Yoongi slowly picks them out, giving you a kiss to your face and chest for everyone. Ending his morning kisses with a scalding one just over your heart.
- When the little settlements that dot the countryside start to grow more numerous, more like large towns, Yoongi flies higher just to stay out of sight of the others of his kind.
- He doesn’t know how your and Jungkook’s presence so deep into dragon lands will be received, especially out here in the country where many are loathed to forget any of the wars in recent memory or the one that’s currently blooming. The citizens of the dragon city, on the other hand, are far more accepting, even overly curious if Yoongi remembers well- it’s been about 100 years since he last set foot in it, things could have changed.
- But Yoongi is still a little too worried for comfort, the last time that you land to make camp, everyone can feel how tense it is. It must be the hardest for Hoseok, already wound tight by anxiety and further stressed out by Yoongi’s off-putting scent of discomfort. The youngling spends the whole night shifted and scent marking both you and Jungkook, huffing every time either of you try to move away from him.
- There are some precautions that they have to take before you enter the city limits. Both you and Jungkook are carefully scent marked and each given something of Yoongi’s to wear as claiming items. Yoongi gives each of you a bracelet made from one of his shiny black scales that he made a few weeks ago. Any dragons that see you will know you’re claimed and spoken for- even if he turns away for a moment and you’re caught without them.
- In the end, it’s only the curiosity of what Yoongi is doing that makes Hoseok shift. Hoseok sweetly makes both of you one too- though his are rougher and not quite as elegant- a simple twine necklace with one of his red feathers for each of you to wear around your necks- that way everyone will know you’re apart of Hoseok’s family too.
- “Do you like it?” he asks after he steps up to where your legs are crossed around the campfire and puts the long string around your neck, you wrap your arms around him and pull him into your lap. Making him erupt into giggles “I love it Hobi I’m never going to take it off” he presses his cheek to the top of your head, scent-marking you before he darts away to give Jungkook his.
- on the day you enter the city, Yoongi is careful to circle the city from above, you can smell the ocean even if you can’t see it yet high above the clouds. He’d warned you before- to hold on, that entering might require some fancy flying. When you first breach the cloud line from above- you’re shocked, what you first assume is a cloud of brightly colored birds grows in size as Yoongi falls into the steepest dive he dares with you on his back, gliding into a slow spiral down.
- You’re glad you’re a little too scared from the dive to even look around- or else you’re sure that the sheer number and dimorphism would scare you. you break through the second layer of clouds and the city rises up to meet you.
- The city is in the center of a massive island miles across, on one side of it- the city rises up slowly to the edge of a cliff, a tall castle at the highest point. But even on the other side, you can see the cliffs are dotted with hanging buildings. On the less steep side of the city, tall buildings are wound through with canals, colorful ships docking to unload their wears from far off lands.
- You’ve never seen so much glass in one place, in the human realms, glass is costly and usually used sparingly- but this castle is nearly made of the stuff, piercing the sky like a faceted quartz crystal. The city it’s self-looks almost like a human city if not for the taller towers, landing pads, and wider roofs for sunbathing dotted with Jem colored scaly beings that look lazily at the sky when Yoongi descends.
- You’d never realized how Yoongi might compare to others of his species, but even here- his black wings seem to block out the sun, he’s easily twice as large as the average size. luckily none of them fly too near to you- the thousands of dragons dotting the sky too preoccupied with their own destinations to wonder at yours.
- You’re glad you’re a little too scared from the dive to even look around- or else you’re sure that the sheer number and dimorphism would scare you.
- The entire fiasco of landing takes about a minute but feels longer.
-  When you land, it’s in a square in the shroud of the castle with steep walls and a large hall- faceted like a cut stone. The wide black landing pad is tiled with white stones in the shape of a coat of arms. The hexagonal black stones are warm underfoot as you slide off of Yoongi’s back the insignia- whatever it might be, indiscernible now that you’re at ground level.
- Attendants rush forward, some of them puzzled and others, who recognize Yoongi dropping into deep bows.
- Though Jungkook had been excited when he’d first learned that there was a whole city full of dragons- now he’s shy, tucks himself into your legs when you slide onto the stone. Hoseok falls into a flurry of feathers, shifts halfway down Yoongi’s back and steps in front of both of you, his feathers raised and puffed up to make himself look larger.
- It’s strange, you’d never imagined the different ways in which dragoness could present its self In human form but now you see there is some sort of dimorphism between shifting species. A young woman with wings rushes forward as if to take your bags, but halts when Hoseok hisses at her. There is even one with a tail poking out from underneath her skirt, and a group of small soldiers who look more dragon than human even though they’re still bipedal.
- A pretty looking soldier with silver scales sparkling along his shoulders like the armor he also wears steps up, a spear held in his shaking hands not at the ready, but held almost as if he is unsure of the threat. Yoongi steps in front of the three of you smoothly- the shift ending with a flap of his robes, suddenly toe to toe with the soldier who looks like he’s about to faint, eyes widening at the sight of Yoongi’s human form.
- He’s quick to drop the spear, and back up, you almost think you see Yoongi smirk. “I am Yoongi Windborne, victor to the battles of frozen fires, of tialug pass, the stolen city, Commander of the eastern battalion and victor to the 33 year war, I have come to the council when summoned, take me to them.”
- A dragon woman with no visible mark beyond her slanted emerald eyes steps forward, the pin on her chest of a large fire-filled flower (what you decide you must have seen in the center of the coat of arms. Later Yoongi will tell you it’s the symbol of the council) she introduces herself as The main caretaker of the castle and drops into an elegant bow “I will take you to them master, follow me.”
- The palace guards recede; Hoseok sifts back and straightens, Yoongi nods and then gestures with his hands for you to follow without turning from the woman. You would reach out and take his hand if it weren’t for Jungkook and Hoseok clutching either of yours. Jungkook is wide-eyed and a little bit frightened, but his wide brown eyes dart to take in absolutely everything he can. Hoseok is still and as tightly wound as a statue, his back rim rod straight holding your hand so tightly in both of his that it’s starting to hurt.
- “Your family may wait here,” the caretaker says, as you break out into a small antechamber. It’s a little enchanting, the open-air courtyard with a raised pool in the center pastel colored fish swimming lazily in the clear water. Great bushels of puffy pink flowers hang from the ceiling above- giving the whole thing an almost cloudlike aesthetic, small glass orbs hang periodically that seem to glow dully with muted light hang on unseen strings.
- “I’ll give you a second to settle in,” the caretaker says then turns her back to the two of you, farther on down the hallway you can barely hear it, the sound of clamoring voices and a small shout, a loud booming laugh. You figure you must not be far from the council room.
- Your boys look up at you, and you lean down, pressing a kiss to either of their for heads. “Would you give your father and I a minute?” they both nod, their mismatched black and red curls bobbing as Hoseok transfers his death grip from your hand to Jungkook’s and lets the younger pull him in the direction of the pool.
- Hoseok holds onto Jungkook, smiling down at Jungkook when he says something about the fish, the elder trying to stop the younger as he tries to climb up and over the ledge and into the pool, laughing when Jungkook pouts, “Don’t let them take him Yoongi- please- I can’t- if they do-”
- Yoongi shushes you gently, his wide hands combing over the back of your hair. He makes a comforting noise in the back of his throat. But his grip is tight, his body too tense to be entirely comforting. “I won’t let that happen, I promise” You nod, hold onto him extra tightly. Yoongi leans forward to scent mark dully against your cheek. The slow circles he draws with his nose tempting a watery giggle.
- He leans back, pressing his forehead against yours hard, eyes opening, more resolved, a rage you’ve never seen in his eyes before. You imagine not for the first time what he must have been before you. You always see Yoongi so soft its easy to forget he once lived the life of a warrior. His eyes flash with a rabid hidden fire, something that flares to consume and destroy.
- But it’s gone as quickly as it comes, his eyes softening once they focus on you. The giggles from Hoseok and Jungkook dancing along the tiled wall of the pool distracting him.
 - “I’d burn down the whole city before I let them hurt you.”
- Together the two of you walk towards your children. You pull Jungkook away to a corner, wanting to look out over the city and the wide windows. Leaving Hoseok and Yoongi to talk.
- Yoongi crouches down to Hoseok’s level and hugs him tightly, the flechling holds back twice as hard. “My little flechling” Yoongi says, barely keeping his tears at bay. The words tugging out of him before he can think better on it…but there are some things that need to be said. yoongi might not have a chance after today.
- He hopes, not for the first time- that he’s not fucking this whole father thing up. He hopes he’s Judging correctly that Hoseok even so small and young will be able to make this choice.
- With everything he’s been through, he deserves to be treated like a grown-up but protected and cared for like the child he is. What Hoseok wants matters the most in this, regardless of what you and Yoongi want.
- Yoongi knows that Hoseok hasn’t had an easy few months- not by a long shot, losing his family and the long months of healing had been hard. But yoongi hopes that they’ve done the best that they could.
- “You know how much I care for you, how much Jungkook and y/n care for you too, we love you and we want you to stay but none of that matters if you want-“ Yoongi’s voice falters, and he doesn’t get the chance to finish his sentence before Hoseok is tugging back with a vice-like grip shanking his little head back and forth furiously knowing Yoongi’s words before he’s spoken them, little curls bobbing and flopping up to curl against his golden horns.
- “I want to stay- I want to stay with you and them, please- please don’t let them take me away.” he cries, clutching onto the back of Yoongi’s neck.
- Yoongi strokes down his back carefully, his arms a cage around his son to protect him from all that would harm the young dragon. Their horns knock together a little, as Hoseok scent marks Yoongi in the clumsy little kid sort of way that makes Yoongi’s heart clench painfully.
- “Of course not, I’d never let them take you from us hobi, i promise” from the corner, Jungkook giggles and calls for Hobi to come and see the view of the city below, oblivious, half hanging out of the window and probably in danger of falling if it weren’t for your hand fisted in the back of his shirt. Hoseok nods, and Yoongi knocks their foreheads together once before he lets Hoseok go, his hand lingering on Hoseok’s small shoulder for just a moment longer.
- Yoongi is ready to face them.
- The Dragon Council quiets when Yoongi enters, some of them even stand while the caretaker announces him by rank and title. Yoongi himself even rolls his eyes at a few of them- the council and their formalities must have anointed him with more than a few in his absence from the city. The council room is the same as yoongi remembered it. The sealing is hexagonal and faceted with glass like a jewel, the councils two dozen seats set up a few feet so that whoever remains in the anti-chamber below to meet with them needs to look up to make eye contact.
- He spots his old friend in the crowd, Yoongi sees the ice drakes face breaks out into a happy smile at the sight of him. Namjoon’s chair falling back as he stands up too quickly at the sight of his long lost friend. A smile that Yoongi returns with barely a press of his lips- later, there will be time for a more solid hello.
- The discussion and clamor is almost immediate. Yoongi quickly needs to reign in his temper.
- “While it’s not unheard of for human’s to be apart of a hoard, it is a little unconventional. Are we certain Yoongi is the best caretaker for the flechling? Should he not be put with some of his own kind? Someone with more natural inclinations?”
- Before Yoongi has a chance to growl out his anger at the impertinence and the disrespect they’re showing you- his mate- and not just a thing- Namjoon speaks up for him. The air chills in the wide throne room as Namjoon’s temper spikes.
- “You seem to discount Yoongi’s loyalty to us, despite the fact that it’s not in his natural inclinations.” namjoon throws their words back in their face,  Namjoon is right, Most solitary species of dragons are more likely to tell the council to fuck off rather than follow their thinly veiled orders framed as requests.
- “He’s never hesitated to come at your beck and call. If he wants to look after him and the flechling also wants to stay with his adopted family, I vote to allow him that, and transfer custody of the child to Yoongi.”
- Namjoon has gotten far more eloquent during his time as a councilman, Yoongi realizes. As he watches the way that Namjoon takes the room's attention and focuses it. There is barely a trickle of his northerner drawl left in his voice. He’s not the same rough winged and backwater hatchling Yoongi had first met- nor the battle-hardened soldier he’d left on the edge of the city limits all those years ago. Namjoon’s done well for himself.
- “Also, he’s been verry clear during his explanation that the human woman is his mate Jaebeom- would you forgive such disrespect if the same indifference was shown to your mate?” the other dragon growls in reply and then mumbles something about Namjoon’s own choice of mate being unconventional at best and a conflict of interest at worst, but Namjoon is stalwart.
- “There is another nuance to this issue as well, there are proper channels for this sort of thing, I for the life of me can’t imagine why Yoongi did not bring the child to us when he first found him and instead left us to find out that he’d been illegally harboring the child-“
- Yoongi’s voice is a growl as he interrupts, “my s- Hoseok was injured, councilwoman, I assure you legal formalities were the last thing on our minds when we first found him.”
- That prompts a whole other vein of discussion. “A human healing a dragon? how preposterous!” “How do we know that she even healed him well enough?” “The fledglings flight abilities could be at stake! We must have him looked over by the healers at once” “You definitely should have brought him here if he was injured- the only ones who could heal him properly is us.”
- “I think we need to ask the child what he wants.” Comes the final vote, from an elderly woman in the back, she’s been a member of the council for most of her life and the wings that drag behind her when she stands are blown through with arrow holes and rustle like delicate paper. Yoongi wonders if she can even fly anymore.
- Not too surprisingly, you refuse to let Hoseok go into the chamber alone, and Jungkook too because you won’t let Jungkook be alone in a strange place either. Your family files into the room, and though more than one of the council members seem to view your very presence to be an insult the rest of them seem to relax momentarily.
- And of course, it helps that Hoseok enters the council room in his dragon form, makes them seem more at ease somehow, like they where worried he was being forced to stay in his human form (but come on really? You can’t help but be a little indignant at that.)
- At first, Hoseok will not step into the middle of the room, won’t leave your side by where you stand with Yoongi. you stoop to put a hand on his back, “Hobi it’s okay honey they just want to talk to you” Hoseok lets out a pained whine that makes more than one dragon in the room stiffen, you too, your hand smoothing over his feathered wing as they flutter a little agitatedly, snapping once. “I’ll go with him mom,” Jungkook says, tugging on the little mane of feathers on Hobi’s neck and leading him into the middle of the room.
- Hoseok goes, needing to be reassured every few feet by a soft word from Jungkook but he gets to the small raised circle, a podium just large enough for both of them to stand, without much fuss even though Hoseok looks like he’s about to bolt.
- “They seem to have a close bond” one of the council members notes to the open room, the awaiting dragons appraise Jungkook and Hoseok with every step. Hoseok holds the end of Jungkook’s scarf in his mouth for comfort.
- The closer they get to the Centre the more Hoseok shakes, his feathers standing on end making him look twice as puffed up. “We are! He’s my best friend!” Jungkook chirps, unbothered by the council members' scrutiny.  some seem to bristle at Jungkook’s enthusiastic response and Namjoon stifles a snort, raising his eyebrows in Yoongi’s direction. the look seems to say “a spunky one you’ve got there” Yoongi barely suppresses a grin.
- “Will you be shifting any time soon?” a councilman snaps out when they’ve been hovering in the center of the room for a few seconds, Yoongi is careful to grab your arm tightly, making the snarky response die in your throat as a growl of his own ripples out of his throat. The look he sends you is apologetic, but you interfering will likely make it worse. Yoongi’s hand remains tight on your forearm, his thumb rubbing in soothing circles.
- “Sorry, it will only take a second,” Jungkook says, answering for the two of them Surprising both you and Yoongi. Maybe it’s something in the way that Jungkook says the words you think. Maybe it’s the unwavering trust that Hoseok has in Jungkook or the fact that he was the first one to crack through Hoseok’s shell when he’d come into your care. You have to admit- you have no idea what’s happening, and neither does Yoongi really, as Jungkook cups Hoseok’s cheeks in his hands.
- In dragon form, Hoseok’s head rises at just about eye level with Jungkook. The younger presses their foreheads together for a second the same way they always do. The council watches with confused looks at first and then wide eyes, the elder council woman’s eyes hardening and her hands tightening over her walking cane, her eyes bright as she looks down upon them.
- The council watches with bated breath as Jungkook presses his forehead against Hoseok’s hard,  “Hobi, shift.” he commands, his quiet voice lingering in the dead silence of the chamber. By the time Jungkook pulls back Hoseok’s red hair is tangling with his black, and he blinks, suddenly more clearheaded as he peers up at the council. “Sorry, I can’t- I’m not so good at shifting still and Jungkook helps me when I need it.”
- You can’t imagine when before you’d seen it and then you remember- months ago- when that dragon had almost attacked the three of you, you and Yoongi had been busy with your bruises while Jungkook had gotten Hobi to shift. You can’t imagine what just happened really, but there must be some significance, whereas before most if not all of the council had held ire in their gazes when they looked at Jungkook- now their eyes are wide with shock and curiosity.
- You don’t like it, the way they stare at them like some sort of novelty. You watch from beside Yoongi, his hand fisted in the fabric at the small of your back, he can tell your whole body is fighting to go to your sons and put your body between the two of them, but he holds you tight to his side, knowing if you interfere you’ll only make it worse.
- “Well that settles it,” the councilwoman says, and almost immediately the others try to jump in, she raises her hand though and they fall silent, “all of you know as well as I do, that to separate a soulbond could spell certain death for either of them, if the hatchling has chosen the human boy then we need to respect it.”
- A soul bond? What is that? You want to wonder out loud, but if the faint widening of Yoongi’s eyes is anything to go by, it must be a big deal. That you might not have understood but it seems mostly unanimous, the few dragons who seem displeased are overridden by the vast majority who seem to be in agreement.
- As quickly as you’ve been summoned, you’re asked to leave, a little more politely albeit. Yoongi is asked to stay however, and he leads you to the door nodding that he’ll only be another minute or so before he can rejoin you.
- “How do you do that Jungkook?” you ask as you leave, one of your son's hands in each of your own, Hoseok’s is sweaty. Jungkook just shrugs looking a little indigent in the way that only a 6-year-old can muster. “I don’t know? Do you think they’ll have food for us when we get back? I’m kind of hungry.” you give Hoseok a look and he shrugs his small shoulders, “it’s just easier when he asks, it’s like, I can’t do it when I ask my body too but it listens to him,” you make a noise in the back of your throat.
- As it turns out, those few minutes really are a few hours, there is a fair amount to discuss. Despite the grumblings and arguing that extends well into the day, Yoongi is allowed to keep Hoseok as his charge as long as he agrees to yearly check in’s with the council, and quarterly medical check-ups to make sure his ability to fly is not impeded by his past injury as he grows into adulthood, and to introduce him to more of his kind whenever possible.
- There is another matter too, most younglings go to some sort of vocational school if they live within the city limits, magic school (if they’re so inclined like Yoongi was) or at least flight school so that they can learn best how to control their larger scaly forms. Normally, if they live outside of the city limits, schooling is left up to their parent’s discretion, but Hoseok- with his injured wing- is a special case.
- “The fledgling will be under mandatory schooling for 2 months out of the year, whenever his parents decide, during which time he will socialize with his own kind, and complete certain physical exams to ensure his body is developing correctly despite the injury, and learn to fight.”
- The burst of flame is almost immediate, as well as Yoongi’s rippling snarl that seems to shake the walls and make the windowpanes of the room rattle in their casings. When the smoke clears, Yoongi is toe to toe with the old councilman who has spoken the final missive- or sentencing, depending on your viewpoint.
- In the antechamber down the hall, you notice the glass orbs that hang from the ceiling swaying slightly though your children do not. You gnaw on your lower lip, sending the closed door, and the guard that's come to stand outside of it- with an anxious glance.
- “My child will not- under any circumstance- learn to fight- just so you can make him some soldier in your armies the same way you did to me. That, over everything else I will not allow.” He spits, fire dripping from his mouth even in human form.
- The old councilman cocks an eyebrow in Yoongi’s direction, unperturbed by his show of aggression, “this is our final say, take it- or leave the child in our care.” the threat hangs in the air for a second, everyone’s hair sticking on end, Yoongi’s hands tighten on the edge of the podium, breaking the edge away from the rest of the stone the rest of the podium creaking under his strength. Namjoon at the far end of the table- even stands up as if to come between Yoongi.
- With another snarl, Yoongi hurls the stone at the nearest window, which shatters in a fantastic splay of glass, then turns and walks away from the council- knowing that really- he has no other choice. behind him, he hears someone say something that sounds suspiciously like “overgrown baby” and “temper tantrum.”
- Yoongi’s temper has barely dissipated by the time he reaches your antechamber but is immediately cooled into syrupy warm sweetness when he sees the sight that greets him.
- There is a small food cart in the waiting room where he left you, though it looks absolutely raided. The honey cakes and small sandwiches taken apart by little fingers. Another plate only holds crumbs now, a small pile of tangerine peals piled on the floor (where Jungkook and Hoseok had sat and played a game while you’d paced and worried over the fate of your family).
- The fish in the pool now firmly in hiding after the last hour of terror inflicted on them by the two boys that are now taking a rest on the padded chaise lounge in the corner. Jungkook is piled with his head on your stomach the lower half of his pants soaked to the bone, his sticky face pressed to your stomach. The 6-year-old is never one to forget a nap, especially on a mid-afternoon as warm as this. The light from the dying sun making the room rosy and golden.
- Hoseok, on the other hand, is stretched out lengthwise, his head rested on your shoulder while you recline propped up a little on the velvet pillow. His eyes are barely open as you stroke down his back and over his hair. You hum something soft and melodic and relaxing as Hoseok holds you tightly around your middle. Hoseok sits up at the sound of Yoongi’s footsteps, the softness of your lilting lullaby silences. And Yoongi finally lets his smile break out.
- He holds his arms open, “come here Hobi” he says, and the youngling breaks out into a run, fully waking Jungkook. All of you pile in around Hoseok, squeezing the life out of him as the words spill from Yoongi’s mouth “you’re ours- you’re ours” and Hoseok happily snuggling into your tummy, then Jungkook’s head.
- “Okay! I can’t breathe! Stop squeezing so hard!” he says eventually, and you all separate from him with a few lingering touches, and Hoseok feels snuggled down and happy like he’s safer than he’s been in the last few months. Hoseok holds on a tiny bit, pressing his cheek to the side of your leg and holding around your knee, unwilling to let go even now.
- Before any of you can talk even further about what you might do next, or where you might be staying tonight, long confidant strides echo down the hallway as the council seems to get louder, stopped for a break perhaps or adjourned for the day, and a massive man in a dark blue robe rounds the corner.
- You barely catch the sight of his slicked-back silver hair- and his icy blue eyes before he swoops up your mate into a bone-crushing hug. Yoongi actually squeaks- though the sound is more of a result of all of the air being crushed from his lungs by those iron looking arms. “Min- fucking- Yoongi- you asshole making me wait that long” the much taller man starts talking a mile a minute before your mate has a chance to respond beyond a wide grin. The kind of look you thought was reserved for you and your family but- whoever he is they must be close.
- “You should have told me you where coming! And not just wiped into the council room like that- but honestly- it was worth it to see the looks on their faces- how are you? How was your journey? Jimin will be so happy to see you!” Namjoon withdrawals- knocking foreheads with him once and quickly before he pulls apart, though your mates face is equally as smiley, showing his gums and slight fangs “councilman Namjoon- who would have thought they would let a low blood like you join their ranks,” he teases.
- The grin Namjoon returns, looking down shyly- “it wasn’t easy- but I think I’m finally starting to make some headway with how they treat the lower races- oh!” he brakes off, suddenly looking down, “who might this be?” Jungkook peers up with him with wide eyes, still tugging on the long embroidered edge of Namjoon’s robes.
- “Excuse me!” Jungkook chirps, “I was wondering how you got so tall?” Yoongi stifles a laugh, you smile, and you can finally see the small nubby horns poking out of the top of Namjoon’s head start to turn from their silver that blends in with his hair- to a slight pink. Namjoon casts Yoongi an anxious glance, both of you stifle your giggles. “Ugh? Vegetables? I guess?”
- Jungkook makes a scowling face. His nose scrunching up cutely. “I was hoping you wouldn’t say that” Jungkook grabs Namjoon’s hand, giving it a little shake, “I’m Jungkook,” Namjoon looks a little bewildered but gives it a shake back, prompting both you and Yoongi to fall into giggles. “I’m Namjoon?” his sharp icy blue eyes flicker from Jungkook to Hoseok, who gives Namjoon a likewise small smile and a handshake, his small hand dwarfed by Namjoon’s large one.
- “You must be Hoseok and Y/n, it’s a pleasure to meet both of you as well” you hold out your hand and Namjoon stoops low to press his forehead against it- a strange thing- you’d almost been expecting him to kiss it. Later, Yoongi will tell you that it’s customary for other dragons to greet each other's mates that way, so as to not incidentally scent mark them with a hug, or a more familial press of a forehead to the others.
- Eventually, the conversation shifts to your plans for the rest of the stay in the dragon city. When Yoongi lets slip that you haven’t found a boarding house for tonight yet Namjoon invites you to stay at his manor house as long as you need. He doesn’t take no for an answer either, no matter how Yoongi tries to back out of it.
- The sun already set so you can’t exactly see everything but the moon hangs over the sea like an old friend, lulling the three of you on Yoongi’s back into the soft wakefulness that only a stressful day can bring. Yoongi and Namjoon are  two opposites, Namjoon’s wings taking in the moonlight and almost reflect it, whereas Yoongi is an unseen shadow as he follows the lighter colored and smaller dragon east until the city’s glow is faint on the horizon.
- The yellow light of windows dot the countryside along with other mansions, Yoongi tells you later that most of the councilmen prefer to live within the city limits, but Namjoon felt he needed a little more breathing room.
- The manor house (or small castle really) is built for a dragon, tall windows with shutters and tall glass windows. it’s bricked not with red stone but smooth white river stones stacked on each other. It’s extensive gardens and pathways extend all the way to the edge of the Seacliff, the ocean turning below a spare 50 feet from the back patio.
- a massive greenhouse swallows the western edge of the building, almost dwarfing the manor house, it’s so dark and dense with foliage that you barely see it until you land in the lawn, the grass tall and speckled through with wildflowers turned grey in the ample moonlight is soft underfoot. when you slide off of Yoongi’s back to land softly.
- It’s late enough that neither Namjoon or Yoongi protest when you decide to turn in basically the second you make it into Namjoon’s entryway. The head housekeeper is a kind-looking woman with a cloud of curly hair that almost hides her dark brown horns, her eyes almost as orange as the candlelight, pressing you to take all of your things up to the guest wing while a youth helps her carry your bags.
- Both of your sons rub their eyes sleepily, almost knocking into one of the tall vases full of flowers tucked into the alcove by the door. And the though Hoseok furiously apologizes no one seems too mad at him, the housekeeper seems to look at them with softness too, Hoseok basically holding Jungkook up, something else in her eyes as she looks to you and offers to bring up some soup and some warm milk as well.
- Yoongi holds gently to your arm as an attendant helps Namjoon divest of his councilmen’s robes, your sons already trudging up the stairs after the woman who helped you with your things. “I think Namjoon and I have some catching up to do, will you be alright with the boys?” Namjoon chimes in “our guest suite is extremely comfortable- if you need anything please tell Muji and she’ll get you whatever you need.
- You nod slowly at namjoon, Yoongi’s hand coming up to grip yours lightly on the railing of the staircase. “Of course,” you say, putting your hands on his shoulders, leaning in to give him a kiss that he returns soft, his hands splaying on your hips, hands twiddling with the lacing that sits on the small of your back. “Enjoy your talk you old lizards” you tease, making yoongi and Namjoon laugh. You head up the wide staircase,
- Namjoon’s house is lit with enough of those glowing orbs that you don’t need a candle to see, and below you hear Namjoon mutter to Yoongi, “to think after all these years you’ve finally found one to make you soft” “oh shut it Joon- you’re twice as bad if not worse with jimin.”
- The guest wing in Namjoon’s house is comfortable with a main bedroom, a secondary bedroom with two smaller beds, a study, a sitting room, a bathroom, and a balcony that looks over the ocean the door already open to let in the cool sea breeze and alleviate some of the balmy heat that lingers from the day.  Hoseok and Jungkook are a little more subdued in their exploring. Now that you think about it- you realize you’ve never stayed in a house this grand.
- Your old cottage was a hovel, and your student dorm at the medical school you’d attended only slightly worse, even when you’d been a child, you’d been passed from relative to relative, always shoved in back rooms or closets for space. You’d never- not until Yoongi- really been given enough space.
- It’s not that you were abused or mistreated, it just that having such a large family in such a world with so little hardly made it easy. You rarely think about your family now, or what little of it might remain. You hadn’t been well taken care of as a kid, left mostly to your own devices, and you don’t feel guilty- you never have, for suddenly disappearing with Yoongi a little over 3 years ago.
- But oh, how different your life is now, how different a life you’re giving your children. Hoseok shifts and climbs onto the big bed in the main bedroom. “careful of your claws Hobi” you remind him as he settles with a humph in the generous display of velvet throw pillows perfectly arranged at the headboard. Jungkook beside you lists into your leg and you tug him up into your arms, nearly already asleep and relaxing against you fully.
- Hoseok only wakes when the housekeeper shows, plopping a bowl of soup and some bread on the small table and setting down a dish of warm milk on the bedside table. Hoseok’s snout pokes out from under the pillows and he hums in thanks, his tongue darting out to lap it up.
- You thank her while you try to wrestle Jungkook into some pajamas, the youngers so uncoordinated in his sleepiness, you don’t realize until you’re in-between the rich sheets and pressed to the cloudlike softness of the mattress that it’s the first time you’ve slept in a real bed in a few years.
- You also realize you’d seen hide nor hair of Namjoon’s mate, but you guess that can wait for tomorrow. Yoongi’s told you more than a few stories about the dragon and fairy couple, and you’d begun to look forward to meeting Jimin a little bit.
- In your sleep, you dream you’re running through a garden, searching along the edge of a camellia path for someone, something, red and white and pink flowers leading the way. You hasten into a run and break out into a wide space, a dark curly colored head shoots up, hands hovering over a lily blossom, dark eyes on you.
- “You shouldn’t be here.” he says, voice deep and melodic. his lips purse, and he plucks one petal of the lily, you watch as the petal hardens to glass in his hands, shattering with a tinkle when he drops it. “but I guess I’ll be glad for some company after so long.”
- You wake with a start, the sun shining through the open balcony doors and the smell of lily’s stinging your nose, the sea ebbs and flows the lul of crashing waves clams your sudden panic. Yoongi’s face pressed into the nape of your neck. He grumbles when you sit up, pulling you back in close, “too early” he mumbles, pressing slow and sleepy kisses against your bare shoulder, the strap of your nightgown slipped down. You don’t remember when he came in, but you guess it must have been late.
- You turn to press a kiss to his sleepy face, eyes still closed, his mouth tugging up into the gummy smile that you love so much as you cuddle in closer. But your bed is suspiciously cold and absent of your children, and you know with a new place to explore they must have been too excited to sleep, you internally blanch when you think of the mischief they must be getting up to.
- but the bed is warm and even more comfortable When Yoongi grumbles and turns to scent mark you, and you hope that namjoon or the housekeeper is keeping an eye on them, at least for a little while longer so you can enjoy a quiet morning with yoongi. The events of yesterday come crashing down on your shoulders like a lead weight. yoongi stills by your throat, sensing your sudden discomfort. You ask Yoongi about the soul bond.
- he sits back against the pillows tugging you close to rest your cheek on his bare chest. his rough hands drawing aimless circles on the skin of your back. “It’s an old kind of magic Usually between two dragons not of the same family. it’s kind of an assurance to keep groups together really.  It’s been a long time since they’ve regularly happened- and usually- it only happens when dragons are under stress” he looks down at you where you pepper kisses on his chest. “Now that I think about it, it kind of makes sense that Hoseok would need one after losing his family.”
- “Is it usually romantic or platonic??” you ask, feeling something strange curl in your stomach, trepidation maybe “it’s not like a mating mark is it?” you can’t help but feel like you’re out of your depth here, there is so much information about dragon kind that you’d been unaware of. you hadn’t realized how little you’d known about their basic political system or even their education system until you came to the city and heard about the flying school and magic academy.
- “No, it’s platonic mostly- it’s more like-” Yoongi gives a frustrated sigh “Namjoon has a soul bonded partner that isn’t Jimin- you know Seokjin-“ “your sorcerer friend that I haven’t gotten around to meeting yet? how many others do you have across the globe that you won’t introduce me to?”
-Yoongi nips at your jaw playfully, “can you really blame me for wanting to keep you to myself my love?” he growls, suddenly flipping you over and pressing your back into the soft mattress, his hand riching up your thigh- taking your nightgown with it.  the pads of his fingers are careful and slow as they press in.
- By the time you and Yoongi truly rouse to join the rest of the house for breakfast on the patio, your sons have absolutely terrorized the staff and Namjoon, who seems to eye them with something like appreciation, the book in front of him forgotten. Watching from the head of the table with amusement as Hoseok shifts to be able to reach across the table for more butter better and then shifts back.
- The fresh bread smells sweet and cinnamony and Jungkook seems to already have eaten his fill with sweet elderberry preserve smeared across his face. Jungkook prattles to namjoon a mile a minute and asks about a billion questions about the ocean, mermaids, and pirates from the sound of it.
- He drops off abruptly and smiles when you and yoongi appear from the double doors. “mom you gotta try this it’s so yummy!”  Hoseok pouts back, “I’m telling you the strawberry is better,” he holds out a little peace for you to try and the lump of jam slides off the side and onto the table cloth.
- You apologize for the mess but the same head housekeeper just gives you a smile and says that they’d both love to show you the ocean when you’re ready for some exploring today. They’d already made the climb down to the water's edge, and Hoseok tells you that there is a little private beach at the bottom and a set of stairs perfect for you and Jungkook to take.
- Jungkook and Hoseok’s hair is already curly from the saltwater. as you comb through Hobi’s curls and sit down next to him, yoongi sits across from you next to Jungkook, already prepared with a cloth to wipe his cheeks. yoongi grumbles, “how in the world did you get it in your hair Koo?” he says as he dabs at Jungkooks black curls.
- Both Yoongi and Namjoon are a little more subdued than the rest of you- having stayed up late into the night to talk, but you make polite small talk with namjoon about the book he’s forgotten about, and he promises to show you the library at one point “though really- Jimin’s the one who has a thing for collecting books”
-“No wonder the two of them get along,” you say, nudging yoongi with your foot. and it’s true- a seizable portion of Yoongi’s hoard in the mountains back home consists entirely of books. rare ones, old ones, “do you hoard books or more of just- some of the usual stuff?” you don’t see any cases of splendor, fine fabrics or jewels, only the brightly colored roses that line the patio glimmer.
- Namjoon blushes, his horns- once again turning pink in his silver hair, “Uhm no- I hoard other things- you know I’m an ice dragon right?” you nod. Even as the sun starts to warm into mid-morning namjoon looks unbothered by the warmth. a gust of cold air coming from him whenever he shifts in his chair. “well- the reason why I moved south in the first place is because my hoarded object is plants and there aren’t very many that grow where I’m from.”
-Suddenly, the variety of roses and the gardens that swath the property makes sense, as well as the greenhouse that almost dwarves it. “of course, I’m not that great at taking care of them- Jimin helps me a lot- really where is he- I should go get him or else he’ll sleep away the day-”
- It's funny, one-moment Namjoon’s staff are setting you out some sandwiches, namjoon is just sitting up to go get jimin and the next moment a man, a very naked full-sized man, is falling down onto the table. His bare feet knocking the teacups over,
- You have a face full of very pert ass, nothing on him save for the lacelike wings spurting out of his back, his blonde hair curling at his nape. “you called for me? lover?” he purrs “I was wondering when you where gonna come back to bed-“ he starts, voice low and seductive,
- You barely get your hands in front of Hoseok eyes as yoongi smacks both over Jungkooks. Namjoon- sat on the other side of the table- gets the full view going bright red, his horns the same color as the roses behind him.
- “Jimin!” Namjoon screeches, tone scalding. Yoongi starts to laugh.

a/n: A ‘hoarded object’ is the object that a dragon feels the instinctual urge to collect. there are four types of dragons, the type that does not hoard at all, the kind that dosent mind what they hoard as long as it’s shiny (Hoseok, though he does show a preference over gold things vs. silver), dragons that have a slight preference (yoongi- he’s not really sure if he likes books a lot, or if it’s his hoarded object),
and the last type, dragons that hoard one thing and only one thing, this can be literally anything- lamps, pets, teacups, rubies, beta fish, or in namjoon’s case- plants, though he does have a preference for things that flower and bonsai cherry trees.

The melody drifting up the barren hall floated through the air like it was made for your ears alone.
The poetic rhythm of the keys made you pause, listening enviously at the talent of whomever was playing.
But who was playing? It was 8 am on a Friday, the room should be vacant. Pulling up the music rooms schedule on your phone, you weren't wrong. The first spot of the day was yours for the entire semester.
You knocked lightly. The sound stopped and the bench made it's familiar dragging noise across the concrete floor.
Pulling the heavy windowless wood open by it's cold handle you peeked inside. He scrambled, seemingly embarrassed, shoving his sheet music into his backpack.
"You should be more careful with your notes, don't want to ruin any masterpieces."
"No fear in that," he mumbled.  "They're just a bunch of scribbled ideas."
Pulling the zipper shut he slung it over his shoulder.  "Sorry, I didn't know this was your time slot."
"It's fine." you tried to smile at him but he kept his eyes down.
"Don't you have the schools app? I can check to see when you're supposed to be here." You tapped the widget,  "What's your name?"
"It's fine, I'm actually not on the schedule."
"Oh, why not? You sounded great. If you missed the cutoff you can still be added to a wait list. People drop out all the time."
He looked up and grinned. By God if he wasn't the most beautiful boy you'd ever seen.
"I don't belong here."
"Don't say that. I was listening and you're really talented, you deserve to be here just as much as any of us."
"I don't though." His eyes met yours and you were done for. "I don't go here, I'm not a student."
"Ahh, I guess that's a problem."
"I already said I'm sorry," he got defensive. "I'll just get out of your way."
He started towards the door.
You tugged his backpack. "So is breaking into schools and playing piano a weird hobby of yours?"
You tried to lighten the mood, "you've got a little Phantom of the Opera University edition kink?"
He laughed. "I'm not technically breaking in, I do have a key fob." He held up the school ID. "It's my roommates. And if you want to know about my kinks you're gonna have to get to know me a little better."
You stepped closer and took it from his hand.
"Park Jimin, Performing Arts." Handing it back you eyed him up and down. "So what's your story….."
"My name's Yoongi."
Pulling a chair out from the corner you sat and rummaged through your backpack until you pulled out your breakfast.
"Listen Yoongi, I was just going to sit here. I need logged practice time for course credit."
You peeled your clementine, "So if you want to stay and play, be my guest."
He looked at you unsure, "Why would you do that for me?"
You smiled and shrugged. "I like your face."
Turning red he plopped his knapsack back onto the floor and reclaimed the bench.
You waited until his fingers were just about to land on the keys. "I do have one condition though."
He froze, "Yeah, what's that?"
"You have to take me for coffee later and tell me your story. Agree?"
"I Agree. But you didn't have to give up your time for that, I was going to ask you out anyway."
You probably wouldn't have given up your time but you were intrigued. Park Jimin was an amazing dancer. The curious boy who was here on scholarship was often the subject of conversation in the dining hall. Not only was he good looking but he was a mystery. He hung out with the strangest group of friends, seven misfit boys who were proud to not fit in. In this small University town they stood out as odd, everyone referred to them as The Lost Boys. Yoongi, now being revealed to you as one of them, seemed harmless enough and the opportunity to get to know a piece of them was too good to pass.
Walking and talking up the worn concrete path you made your way through the bustle of pajama clad students trying to get to class.
"Don't you have to be somewhere?"
"Yeah, but I don't care. I'd rather get to know you."
"You should go, I'm not so important that you should lose a day of school over me."
"It's all bullshit anyway Yoongi, it's not going to get me anywhere."
He stopped abruptly, now just outside the small coffee shop. "You sound like a spoiled brat."
You were shocked, who the hell was he to speak to you like that?
"I'd kill to be in your position and you don't even give a shit about just squandering it away."
He pulled the door open and looked at you crossly. "Still want that coffee?"
You stepped in front of him and shot him a dirty look. "I do. You owe me AND because I'm a brat I'm going to order the fanciest thing on the menu. TO GO!"
He silently walked behind you, following to the counter while you placed your ostentatious order. You stood studying him while he asked for an iced Americano. His blond shaggy hair skimmed his chocolate eyes and his sexy lips seemed to  always sit in permanent pout. They looked like they'd be nice to kiss.
"You want to stop staring at me and take your expensive drink. You're holding up the line."
You blushed, knocked from your daydream admiration by his deep voice.
You huffed while pulling the chair out, making a show of your annoyance, situating yourself at the corner table.
"I thought you were getting it to go?" he barbed.
"Why would I do that when I can be a pain in your ass a little bit longer? You promised to tell me your story, let's hear it?"
His inhale was deep. Anxiety? Apprehension? A mix of both? His eyes stared at his coffee while his fingers fiddled with the straw. "I want to be a musician."
"Well I figured that much."
"Listen, if you really want to know can you just shut up? This isn't an easy thing for me to talk about, I don't just tell everyone."
"If you don't want to tell me don't"
He cut you off. "But I do want to, for some stupid reason."
"What reason?"
He exhaled with a smirk. "I like your face."
You smiled, "Then please continue."
"I want to be a musician. I write music and lyrics and it's all I've ever wanted my entire life."
He took a sip of coffee. "My parents didn't approve of my choices so I decided to move out on my own and live my life how I wanted."
You nodded in understanding.
"I didn't take into consideration how hard exactly that would be, but I'm a proud man, and there's no going back."
"So what do you do? You're not a student, do you work?"
"Yeah, I deliver food and groceries part time. It doesn't pay much but the basics are covered."
You looked down at your shitty expensive coffee in guilt, maybe you were just a spoiled brat.
"So whenever I'm not working I try to get as much practice and writing in as I can. I use Jimin's fob to get into the music room and that's where I am most nights...all night." he shrugged in omission.
"So no time for a girlfriend?" you felt silly the moment it left your lips.
"I didn't think so." He looked up for the first time since the conversation started. "But," he smiled, "I think given the right person priorities could definitely be changed."
Talking into the afternoon time flew away. Several less expensive coffees later he looked at his phone and frowned. "I've got to go to work."
He stood up and gathered his things. "But I'd love it if we could see each other again."
You stood to go too. "Next Friday 8am? I can let you in with my fob?"
"That sounds really nice." His hand reached out and his fingers brushed across yours as he took the tray from you. "But I was hoping I wouldn't have to wait that long. We're having a party tonight at our place...will you come?"
Tumblr media
You sat on the edge of the sofa watching the group around you getting drunk and philosophical. Definitely nothing like a frat party, these guys were a different breed.
His roommates were all handsome in their own way and something about them just set you at ease. No pretensions, no apologies, they were just who they were having fun.
Finally seeing him walk through the door your heart raced when his eye caught yours.
"I'm sorry I'm late, they kept getting orders."
"It's okay. Your roommate..." you pointed to Seokjin. "The one with the really broad shoulders, he kept me entertained with some pretty good jokes."
He scrunched his nose, "really, really sorry."
You pulled a bottle vodka out of your purse and raised your brows. "Are you ready for some fun."
He grabbed your hand and pulled you up from the couch until you were close enough to hear without having to shout.
"I'd like to grab a shower. Do you want to wait in my room for me? I mean...if you're uncomfortable down here by yourself."
It was a no brainer, the sexual tension and chemistry you'd had all day was like a current of electricity running between you.
"Lead the way."
You looked around his room while he was showering. Sure the mattress was on the floor but the bed was made and his clothes were hung neatly in the closet. His dresser was stacked with notebooks that were overflowing with lyrics. Pieces of paper with doodles and random words loosely spilling from between the pages.
Pictures, they must be family, small resemblances in their smiles and it looked like he had a brother.
He had a shelf full of colognes. Picking up the Paco Rabanne he walked in as you were pulling the cap off to sniff it.
"Sorry, I wasn't trying to be nosey, I just wanted to know what you smelled like." Idiot, of all the creepy things to say.
He smiled, "It's alright, I'm not hiding anything."
"No," your cheeks flushed when it finally registered that he was half naked in front of you. "I guess you really aren't."
"Shit, sorry. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable. I just forgot to grab my clean clothes before I went in." He opened a drawer to pull out a shirt.
"It doesn't," you blurted embarrassed.
He pulled his hand away from the clothing and raised his brows quizzically, "So you don't want me to get dressed?"
You walked towards him, he was gorgeous. Water droplets still clung to his muscular chest like he couldn't afford the time away from you to fully dry himself.
"I think," you stammered, "That I'd actually prefer if you didn't."
You placed your hand on his bicep and waited for his response.
It didn't come from words, it came from two soft warm lips attaching themselves to yours.
"You're a good good kisser Min Yoongi. Is your mouth that good at everything?"
"You mean like singing?" He teased your lips with his while he popped the button on your jeans.
"No," you giggled.
"Then you must mean biting?" His teeth lightly bit the flesh of your thigh as he kneeled to lower your pants and underwear.
"Nope, that's not what I meant either."
"Oh, I know, you must mean eating?" His warm tongue found your clit and gave it a little flick. "I think I'm pretty good at it."
You ran your fingers through his hair while he looked up at you hungry.
"Prove it," you moaned."
Stepping out of your pants you leaned back against his dresser. Ass resting on the edge he opened your thighs, a low mumble of, "fuck" drifting out of his mouth before he dove in.
His large hands held you open while his silky tongue explored every crevice of your sex sending your senses into a frenzy. Coming up for air every so often he'd moan at the loss of your taste before inhaling and going back in for more. He wasn't methodical, his mouth was unpredictable. One minute his tongue would be deep inside you and the next he'd have his lips around your clit sucking softly.
"Come over here with me."
He led you to the bed, taking off your shirt before guiding you down. Your eyes ran over his body stopping at the bulge under the tightly wrapped terry cloth towel. The wetness in between your legs grew just thinking about getting to see it.
He laid down beside you, holding your face and kissing you while you reached to undo his shroud.
Smiling, he pulled your hand away, "I'm not done with you yet. Tell me what you want me to do to you."
You had to rub your legs together for friction, he was driving you wild. "This morning, when I watched you playing?"
He smiled like he knew.
"All I could think of was how sexy your..." He stopped your words by hooking two fingers  into your mouth and rubbing them against your tongue.
"You were thinking about how good these would feel inside you?" He kissed your neck, "You really know what you want huh?"
"Some people even say I'm spoiled."
"Do you always get your way?"
He plunged them inside of you changing your words of, "I hope so," into a long drawn out moan.
Kissing his way down your neck and over your collar bones his mouth lingered on your breasts. Skimming his lips across your nipples he watched as they hardened into excited little buds. A small smile graced his face, he was clearly proud of how he was making your body react.
His long piano fingers played skillfully inside of you while he latched onto your nipple and suckled. Your heart beat loudly like it was part of the parties soundtrack, the music  reverberating through the floor as he fingered you. The whole unfolding scene felt like a dream. Dizzy and intoxicated from lust and heavy breathing you didn't want to wake up to a reality other than this one.
A thud outside the door snapped you back, your thighs clamping shut on his hand as you pulled the covers up to hide yourself.
"It's locked, nobody can get in, don't worry." He pulled the sheet back off of you to continue his work.
"Are you sure they can't get in?"
A loud moan rang through the hall and the thuds against the wall gave away the truth.
"I'm sure they have their own agenda."
You flopped back trying to regain the moment while his fingers  stroked your walls.
It was distracting at first, people fucking right outside his door. But a few minutes of listening to their pleasure, of hearing their moans and the pleas of harder, you were more turned on than ever.
He watched you unravelling at the  pornographic sounds. "You wanna cum when they do?"
"Please..please," you begged in time with the drag of his fingers.
The sounds escalating on both sides of the wall seemed to add fuel to the fires of both immanent orgasms. Just as the stranger in the hall screamed her end, Yoongi pumped and sucked harder until you finished longer and louder than your unknown counterpart. He laughed as he pulled his fingers out of you, the strings of excitement cleaned off with a lurid suck of his own digits.
Your head was still reeling when he pulled his towel off. His thick beautiful cock looked so hard and ripe as he reached in his drawer for a condom.
"Can I put it on you?" You took it from his hand and ripped the package open. Holding it between your fingertips you got closer and ran your tongue around the head of his cock. The taste of pre cum on his freshly washed dick made you ready for more.
Giving him a few deep sucks and pumps you needed him now. He watched while you rolled the thin latex tightly over his twitching thickness and straddled him, wasting no time to begin bouncing on his cock.
Your kisses were messy, hands entwined in his hair, your breasts grazing against his skin with every thrust while you rode him. "Fuck, you feel so good."
His hands gripped your ass squeezing as he moaned underneath you. Orgasm building like a hurricane, the eye of the perfect storm became more imminent with every slide of your pleasure point against his soaked pubic trail.
"Make me cum Yoongi."
He flipped you swiftly onto your back and his hips picked up the pace to the finish line. Thrusting in between your open thighs his cock drove you to convulsively cum, your cunt squeezing his own warm liquid into the condom between you.
He lay with his arms around you in silence. Your head on his chest listening to his heart slowly make it's way back to a normal pace.
"I can't promise you anything more than who I am. I don't have anything to offer you but dreams that may or may not come true."
He stroked your hair as he spoke his truth. "I'm working hard, but I can't guarantee that I'll ever amount to anything more than a delivery boy."
You sat up on your elbow and stared at the man you'd just fallen in love with. "I want to share all of my time with you Yoongi. In fact, I insist you take it. I've heard you play and I believe in you."
You waited until your lips were just about to land on his. "I do have one condition though."
He tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear, "Yeah, what's that?"
"You've got to promise you'll write me a song. Agree?"
His fingers splayed caressing your back, he couldn't help the huge smile that took over his face when he kissed you.
"I agree. But you didn't have to give up your time for that, I was going to do it anyway."

Closing his locker with his foot, Jimin tries to carefully balance his books placed precariously on top of each other in his arms as he walks back to the dean’s office where he’s also arranging most of his stuff to take home. It’s already been a week since he’d officially graduated medicine from Busan National University, and he had only kept going back to school to gather all his belongings so he could start reviewing.
“Jimin, is that you?” The question almost knocks clumsy Jimin off his feet, surprised at how there was still any other person in the office besides  Kyungjo who was also collecting his stuff to take home. Jimin sets all of his books down first on a desk and turns, only to come face to face with none other than Jeon Jungmin himself, associate professor and chairman of the Jeon Medical Center.
“Professor Jeon! Good evening Sir...It’s already late, professor?”
Jeon Jungmin laughs, patting Jimin on the back, “I was going to say the same to you kid. You should go home.” Jimin flashes the older man a small smile, “Ah...yes, Professor. I’m just grabbing the last of my stuff then I’ll be on my way. This won’t take long.”
“It’s fine, Jimin. The staff know you well anyways,” Jungmin sighs, then rests his weight on a pillar as he puts his hands in his pockets. “You know, Jimin...you’re a very bright student...I think even one of the best in Korea if I do say so myself.”
The young man momentarily pauses with what he’s doing, taking in the professor’s words, “Oh, I think that’s a bit of an exaggeration, Sir.”
Jungmin chuckles as he shakes his head. “It’s true - you’re driven and you’re smart. It’s a fixed formula for someone who achieves great success in life later on. Your parents must be very proud. I would be too, if you were my son too.”
“Thank you, Professor. Everything I do, I do for my parents.”
The older man lets out a deep exhale and gives Jimin another pat on the back. “Just wanted to let you know that you’re going to be a fine doctor Jimin - and the Jeon Medical Center would definitely need fine doctors like you. I realized I shouldn’t be telling you this, but I really hope you will choose JMC for your post-graduate internship. We have a good program here,” Jungmin’s voice goes down to a whisper, “If you wish to, just let me know…”
Someone enters the office and bows to the both of them and recognizes the same man as the professor’s driver. The man collects the professor’s briefcase and coat with one nod of Jungmin. “Well, I’ll head off first, Jimin. I can give you a ride home if you’re done with those.”
Jimin shakes his head quickly, declining the one and only Jeon Jungmin’s generous offer. He’s unsure about the other offer though, but if he lets himself get a car ride home with the chairman himself, the latter might take it as a favorable answer to his proposal to which Jimin is still undecided. “No thank you Sir. I’ll be alright. This might still take a while after all,” Jimin says with an awkward laugh, tapping the top of the stack which was rivaling Jimin’s height.
“Alright Jimin. Get back home safely. And I...hope to see you again very soon.”
Jimin gives him a curt nod. “Good night, Professor.”
He continues on with his remaining tasks, wanting to finish quickly so he could finally go home and rest. “Is he gone?” Kyungjo’s voice startles Jimin, the book in his hands nearly causing the tower of books to collapse. “My god! Stop doing that!” Jimin scolds his friend as it wasn’t the first time Kyungjo’s sleuthing had given Jimin a fright.
“Yeah, he left already. You done with your stuff?”
“Uh-huh. All set and ready to step into the real world,” Kyungjo replies, waving his hands in the air. Jimin narrows his eyes at the other boy, judging him silently. Kyungjo has a particular inclination towards alcohol and Jimin wonders if today was one of the days where his friend indulges himself yet once again.
“Have you heard about his actual son? What was the kid’s name again...uh…” Kyungjo snaps his fingers in mid-air as Jimin asks what was the issue with the chairman’s son, likewise reminding Kyungjo it wasn’t best to talk about it in the dean’s office. “Ah! Yes, Jeon Jungkook. Heard that their relationship got so bad that Jungkook completely cut himself off from the family once he graduated high school and went to Yonsei instead of BNU because of his daddy issues.”
Jimin, unsure how to handle and process that kind of information, simply shakes his head at Kyungjo. “It’s wrong to gossip about other people's lives like that.” When Jimin looks over at his friend, Kyungjo is no longer listening, fumbling with the remote as he turns up the volume of the office television.
“In other news today, two thousand five hundred sixty one students of Seoul National University graduated this afternoon 25th of February, 2023. The ceremony was held at COEX Convention Center in Samsung-dong, Seoul to accommodate the number of graduates this year. With a yearly average of at least two thousand three hundred graduates, this year’s commencement ceremony records the highest number of graduates in the history of the national university.
“Not only did they record the highest number of alumni, but this year also marks the first year to have a foreign national graduate as the school’s valedictorian.” Jimin is listening just as intently as Kyungjo now with both boys focused on the TV screen. “Jeong Yeorum, also known as Summer Jeong by her colleagues, graduates with flying colors today from Seoul National University’s College of Medicine. Here is part of her valedictory speech this afternoon.”
A girl appears on screen and she stands behind the podium with a bright and reassuring smile on her face. “As we embark on the journey of the rest of our lives, I implore you all, to do what you love, because I believe it’s what you’ll do best. There will be countless times of trial, but keep in mind that perseverance will always prevail. Always aim for the moon, because even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars. Class of 2023, good luck. And remember, graduation is only the beginning.”
“Wow!” Kyungjo claps his hands enthusiastically as he marvels at the girl. “The twenty-six year old, who along with her  family migrated to South Korea back in 2015 when her father was reassigned to an office here in Seoul. The valedictorian says she’s not entirely foreign to Korea as her paternal grandmother is actually a native of Jeju. Jeong Yeorum then attended a co-ed high school in Mapo District, where she likewise finished her secondary education with academic distinction.”
The reporters, equally impressed with the girl’s achievements, couldn’t help but add their own comments to the news report, “Wow...I guess some people are simply born for greatness.”
“I agree with you there, Dongho-ssi. We might be looking at the next Bae Jeonjoo, the only woman in the group of doctors who pioneered neurosurgery in South Korea. Ms. Jeong Yeorum, if you are seeing this, we’re rooting for your promising career. Fighting!”
As soon as the news anchors proceed to report other news, Kyungko turns off the television and mentions the time. “Well, she was pretty cute, wasn’t she? Totally my type! Maybe when we get to Seoul to review, we’ll get the chance to meet her...and make her my girlfriend!”
Jimin rolls his eyes at Kyungjo, placing a firm grip on the shoulder, “My friend...you are either drunk, hungry, or high. Either way, you should go home. Don’t worry about me, I’ll just close up here.”
Kyungjo shrugs his shoulders. “You’ll still go, right? To Seoul?”
“I will. Don’t worry.” Jimin gives the other boy a reassuring nod.
“Still half half with the rent, a’ight? I’ll be counting on you, Jiminie...and don’t let me down. Also, tell me when you’re leaving for Seoul so I know when I’m not supposed to bring hot city girls home...they have the tendency to be...loud sometimes.”
This boy was definitely high, and whatever substance he’s taking, Jimin wants none of it.
“That’s your cue, Kyungjo. Go home and take a cab instead.”
“I can drive! I’m not high or drunk!” Kyungjo puts his hands up in the air in defense. “Hey, look, I can even moonwalk!” He proceeds to dance wildly as he exits the office, leaving Jimin questioning how he even became acquainted with Kyunjo in the first place.

You barely hear the sound of your name being called on stage when the audio of Hoseok’s loud whooping completely dulls that of your professor’s. “Oppa! Nobody would be able to make out my name with your audio input!” Playfully shoving your cousin’s phone back into his hands, you continue to mumble your complaints about the poor video quality.
Indignant with your words, Hoseok retorts, “Hey! I’m not a professional videographer, alright? What’s important is the actual moment happening and not how the moment was captured!” Hoseok hooks an arm over your neck, bringing your head to his chest as he gives you a noogie. “Oppa, my hair!!”
Pulling yourself away from his grasp, you quickly pat your hair down but not delivering a solid smack on Hoseok’s back. As you’re fixing your hair, you weren’t able to put much thought into where you were walking, ultimately, and accidentally bumping into someone in a blue and black graduation robe similar to yours.
Quickly, you look up, apologizing profusely at the person. “Oh! I’m so sorry- I…” “It’s okay,” the guy smiles a little, “_________, right?” You’re sure the surprise is evident in your face when he mentions your name when he barely even talked to you during the entirety of med school. “Yes! I mean...hello, Jungkook..” Clearing your throat, you quickly think of something to divert the impending awkward silence, “Well...um, congratulations to you for graduating as the batch valedictorian!” It now dawns on you that he really did graduate on top of the class, “Wow! You’re real smart!” comes your thoughts, unconsciously voicing them out.
‘You’re real smart?’ Really? That’s the best you could’ve done?
Jungkook chuckles, slightly taken-aback by your audible observation. “Oh yeah...um, thanks.” From behind you, you hear Hoseok clear his throat before speaking up. “Hello!” You hang your head low momentarily, already imagining Hoseok making fun of you later for this.
“Right, Jungkook, this is my cousin, Jung Hoseok. Oppa, this is my classmate - Jeon Jungkook.” The two men shake their hands briefly before Jungkook speaks up, “Well, I’ve got to go now. Congratulations to you too Soomin. And Jung Hoseok-ssi.”
As soon as Jungkook gets out of your sight, Hoseok nudges you with his elbow. “Please tell me that man was Jeon Jungmin’s son,” he says, shaking his head in disbelief. Nodding your head, you raise an eyebrow at him.
“Got a crush on the dude?” Oh god. Here we go again.
“No! Jeez.”
“Why were you so awkward around him then?”
“We barely talked in class. Hell, I don’t even think we were within at least fifty meters from each other.”
“But he’s a handsome man?”
“Maybe you’re the one that’s got a crush on him?”
Hoseok glares at you.
“Do you think maybe you’d know which hospital he might be interested in taking his PGI? Woocheon perhaps?”
It’s your turn to glare at him. “I told you. This incident was only one of our very few interactions ever. I think the last time he talked to me was when he borrowed a pencil during a class and that’s it.”
“Well...if you’d discover where, let me know. Because if he does apply for Woocheon, and we’d happen to get the girl from SNU too....” Hoseok nods his head slowly, stroking his chin “Woocheon will have the A-Team interns this year, you included.”
You roll your eyes, resting your arm against the car door that Hoseok opens for you, “You really think that’s going to pay for you ruining my hair?”
“No, but you’re going to thank me if Woocheon manages to snag the dream team!”
