I’ve been wanting to write a story based off the song Deja Vu by Olivia Rodrigo but I can’t decide which character to do it with so here are the top two from the first poll! Please note that this story will be full of angst and won’t have a happy ending so just choose wisely please!!
Ethan Landry and Austin!Elvis were the two most voted for so now I’m going to be holding a poll for them two!

Jason: So. Talia just called.
Jason: Anyone want to tell me why Ra's just had the Joker killed as a training exercise for his newer ninjas?
Tim, who casually mentioned to Ra's that Joker was higher on his list of annoyances than he was so that he could have him eliminated without getting his hands dirty: 👀👀👀

Protective fae!Dick, please? This is my favorite AU, I can't get enough of your writing
That’s so sweet 🥺💚
Okay at this point I can admit I have thing for (over)protective characters so I’m all too happy to oblige lol.
Anyway, protective fae!Dick:
He doesn’t notice he’s being overprotective most of the time. When the people close to him mention a minor inconvenience his first instinct is to remove that inconvenience from the equation altogether. It’s a steep learning curve, because when Bruce first took him in he didn’t realize he’d have to stop Dick from killing half the Rogue gallery in the span of a few months. “But they hurt you,” he’d pout, “and it wouldn’t be really killing, anyway. I’m just… recycling them.” “…” “I could let them keep their consciousness—“ “N O”
Friends, while cherished, do not get to claim the same level of protectiveness. Dick would always come to their aid, of course, but for each request for help he keeps a tally mark in his head; accumulating favors. Only his family are exempt from this.
While there have been a couple close calls over the years, none will ever compare to the time he came back from a mission to find a member of his family gone. To this day Dick refuses to talk about the first couple weeks after he found out. And around the same time each year every plant and tree seems to wither and rot for a while before suddenly bursting back into full bloom. Jason has to return to the manor for this time each year, or Dick will absolutely track him down and drag him back himself. Neither he nor the manor lets him leave until Dick is back to his cheerfully self.
Any close calls with the family after that automatically result in several weeks of house arrest for the respective family member, courtesy of carnivorous deer and some over enthusiastic tree roots that enforce this rule with absolute prejudice.
If someone tries to kill a member of the family while Dick patrols with them/is close by, the only thing the batfam can do is damage control. Because while they can usually stop him from killing the perpetrator, it probably isn’t very ethical to allow a borderline eldritch being to cry their brains with his strange magic either.
Alrighty that’s all I’ve got for now <3

TARGET   :   TODD, JASON. LOCATION   :   @sonburied ASSIGNMENT   :   gone girl ( 2014 ) sentence starters. ENCRYPTED   :     ❛ We could have had this fight four hours ago. I’m late. ❜
Tumblr media Tumblr media
she’s pouting   ---   something she rarely does. her hair is done. her skate bag is packed. and he’s leaving. no, that’s not fair. he’s all she has and he’s leaving. did he forget? have to cancel and didn’t tell her? no, that’s not fair. maybe he didn’t use the word promise, but it was implied. they were supposed to go ice skating. the rink was finally open and she’d been yearning for months and months. she’d done everything right. she behaved, she asked politely, she prepared everything herself. why is he leaving? why can’t she go with him, at least? what if something bad happens? what if he ends up a crumbled pile of viscera in a creek just like ar   ---   no. no. she’s not letting her brain go that far. that would never happen to jason. it can’t ever happen to jason. he’s infallible. he’s perfect   ---   well. usually. right now, he’s an asshole.
❝   no! we’re having it now!   ❞   no, no. no! she was doing so good! why does she have to go and ruin it by being shitty now? he’s busy. he has things to do. this isn’t a personal attack, why does she always have to get so defensive? why can’t she just let things be? her stomach feels sick. she feels like she’s watching herself from outside of her body, watching herself be an ungrateful brat ruining one of the last good things she has in her tragedy of a life. maybe it’s good. maybe the suffering of jason leaving her will be biblical.
❝   you were supposed to take me skating!   ❞

i see this jason todd who actually looks his very young age (instead of the 30yr old man that comics like to portray)
Tumblr media
and feel my heart breaking just imagining bruce beating him up, almost killing him, mind-breaking him, and just overall being a total piece of shit father towards him.
a huge chunk of the reason why people don't view bruce's actions towards jason as abusive or wrong is because jason doesn't look his age. he's drawn to be this 35yr old father of three who looks even older than dick (and way too on par with bruce) that people see their fights as one between batman and any of his regular rogues. when they fight, it just looks like batman is fighting a man his age and not an actual young person. it doesn't look like batman is fighting his son who's barely even drinking age (and who def wasn't drinking age in utrh). their fights are portrayed in a way that eliminates the very real power struggle between them.
this applies to jason's entire character as well. a lot of people don't sympathize with how he died or his actions as robin or his fights with the other bats because he doesn't look his age. he always looks older and scarier than everyone else. tim has many sympathizers from the titans tower incident because jason just looked like a grown man fighting a 12yr old (even tho i disagree, tim was built and like 17 lmfao).
anyways, i just wish comics would actually draw jason to look his age, which literally ranges from 19 to early twenties. he's young- so young, and it's so annoying to see him drawn and written as someone older than even bruce.

Your name is Tim Drake and you are nine years old.
Today, tomorrow, and soon, you're going to save Robin.
----
Tim stares at his reflection on the sink tap. It trembles, along with the plane, as he contemplates his situation.
His face is rounder, now, with unfamiliar baby-fat rounding out the sharp lines he'd come to expect. Even with the subpar reflection, Tim can tell that his dark eyebags are all but gone, replaced with youthful skin.
Magic. He's being quite literal, seeing as he's been tossed into the body of his younger self at the hands of a crazed magician.
He could find a way back... or he could create a completely different timeline by fixing everything that went wrong. It's not like he has anything to go back to, anyways. That crazed magician was actually competent and killed everyone he ever cared about. Tim barely got away with his life. He could go back to save that shell of a world- surrounded by people whose minds were broken beyond magical and medical repair- or stay here, fix his own personal troubles and cut off the magician before he could start with his world domination bullshit.
Well, Tim already has an idea of what he wants. So he begins a list, after having oriented himself.
Save Robin
There's no point trying to convince Bruce that he knows where Jason's being held. So, Tim finds himself on a plane to Ethiopia a day before Jason's meant to die. This was long before Barbara even thought of being Oracle, and the tech is ancient in his hands. In short order, nine year old Tim has a trust fund with millions in it, all siphoned from billionaires like Lex Luthor and his own parents.
Tim toddles back to his seat, after washing his hands because he still can't shake the extra bit of paranoia that came with a missing spleen. Oh. Tim blinks guilelessly at his seat neighbor, smiling like Timothy Drake, Angel of a Son as he reels from the realization that he still has his spleen.
Tim adds another box to his list:
Keep Ra's away from my spleen, creepy bastard.
What else...? Ah, the League of Assassins.
Damian
Tim pauses. Holy crap. Damian's only six right now. Tim moves Damian's box upwards in urgency. Tim might have a mildly antagonistic relationship with his younger brother back then, but he wants baby pictures of his siblings, dammit. He's gonna put that photography expertise to good use if it's the last thing he does.
Watch over Z, Owens, Pru
'They're alive!' His mind screams. Cold rationality slaps the sentimentality down with a quick 'But they won't be if I fail.'
His mind wanders to Dick Grayson. He scowls as something pops up in the back of his head.
Catalina Flores
Contact Nightwing- in space
He's gotta call Dick back from that Teen Titans mission, Jason's gonna need all of the support he's going to get.
Find Cass
Train Steph
Save Duke's family from Venom
Tim taps at that last point. He'll save them. But that might mean Duke might never join their family.
But he'll be happy and Tim... will deal with it. He'll be the only one mourning, anyways. To end on a lighter note, he adds something that he should have done ages ago.
Give Tam a raise.
Tim sighs as he gets out of the airport, the hired escort he found and vetted, delivering him to a predetermined hotel. They think his parents are already inside. He laughs and does not say anything to make them think otherwise. He has so many things to do, Tim laments as he settles down to track the Joker's movements. Here. That's where Jason's being held. Being tortured.
He can, however, knock two things off his list in one go. Tim picks up the burner phone he acquired. He doesn't have time, or else he would have done this sooner and saved them all the trouble.
[RR: Are you in Ethiopia yet?]
[Deathstroke: Payment confirmed. In Ethiopia.]
[RR: Third building by the docks.]
An hour.
[Deathstroke: Confirmed. Target spotted.]
Ten minutes.
[Deathstroke: Target eliminated. Bringing Robin to Safehouse.]
Twenty minutes.
[Deathstroke: Basic first aid applied. Leaving.]
[RR: Secondary payment sent. Confirm?]
[Deathstroke: Confirmed. Pleasure doing business with you.]
Tim sprawls on the king bed. He sighs a breath of relief. He'd check on Jason in person, if he weren't paranoid about leaving traces that would get back to him. Tim's pretty sure that Deathstroke's going to get hunted down in the near future, regardless, so he made sure to add a huge tip on top of the extra fees for burning one of Deathstroke's safe houses and the emergency first aid. He taps into the rudimentary camera Deathstroke had given him the access codes to, to stare at Jason's rising and falling chest. On a further table, the Joker's head laid in a preservation box.
He bypasses all of the security on the Teen Titan's tech to send Dick a message.
[Robin has been retrieved from the Joker. Contact Batman for details.]
Then, he sends Bruce the location of the safe house. Tim spends the rest of the day staring at Jason and watching his father in another timeline break as he huddles close to the broken body of Tim's Robin.
Timothy Drake destroys the burner phone.

I just want people to think about what a canon Danny Fenton meeting a canon Jason Todd during the Under the Red Hood storyline
On one side we have a 2000’s midwestern teenager that definitely went through the DARE program in school that’s about as subtle as a brick
On the other we have full villain Jason, running a drug ring, willing to decapitate enough people to fill a duffel bag with heads to do it.
Now is there a point to Jason controlling crime instead of eliminating it? Yes. Does he have a moral code with an emphasis of reducing harm to children? Also yes
Would Danny have any understanding of moral ambiguity and not dive head first into a situation just one the basis of “drugs are bad though?” Of course not
That boy sees a dead guy walking and running a criminal empire and he’s picking a fight
Meanwhile Jason would be thinking of how to get this kid out of his way without kneecapping a 14-15yo
And the thing is?
Jason probably could just kneecap Danny, Danny is a dumbass that has to consciously turn his intangibility on, and Jason has better aim than the Fentons
And that’s unrelated to the plot to get Bruce to kill the Joker
Idk I just think it’s interesting to think about, especially without the fanon pit rage, because that’s all Jason. Like, don’t get me wrong, I like dead on main, but they’re not instantly clicking in this scenario
Idk what are your thoughts?

the batboys playing jenga except dick and tim treat it like an olympic event and are SO serious about the game. one of them will be pulling a piece and jason will start talking and has to be shushed violently.
damian's typically the first eliminated and sits to the side being pissy about it until he gets bored and walks off.
jason's like, really bad at it, and gets angry about it too. he only joins in for the opportunity to shake the table when it gets close to endgame and gaslight tim or dick into just thinking they lost.

The Medium and his assistant
Amity Park was a roller coaster, but after eliminating the GIW, talking to the Fentons, and getting some sort of alliance with the ghosts, Danny felt like he didn't have much else to do. He took Ellie's advice to travel a bit, but tried to make it a little more exciting.
Although the money he had been given could last forever (and longer with Vlad's card in his pocket), he wanted to earn his own money. So he made his trip a fun job, turning part of his vehicle into a trailer. Thus was born his career as a medium and fortune teller, traveling around the world, listening to the dead, advising people, etc.
Technically, thanks to Clockwork Danny could see the future, but he doesn't need it, or at least not always. And talking to the dead was practically his day-to-day, so he thought he had chosen well.
During one of his trips, when he passed through Gotham he found a zombie (which turned out to be a halfa!), the poor thing was lost, and wandering, so he helped him and did the most sensible thing possible: he offered him a job. Jason, who hadn't been back for a long time and his memories were scrambled, decided that he needed a vacation anyway, for his own sanity (not seeing the Joker's face was a bonus) and accepted the offer. Of course, he covered his face in case someone recognized him as the son of a millionaire, Danny approved.
Both traveled around the world, offering their services and bothering a certain Constantine who complained every time they had the same client (Danny replied that it really wasn't his fault, but the British man was still upset). A year later they returned to Gotham.
The Batfam assumed that Danny's business was a scam. But Bruce was desperate, he wanted to talk with Jason, to hear about him, even if it was a scam, so he visited them. When Danny asked who he wanted to contact, Bruce replied "Jason Todd."
Danny, who knew full well the identity of his employee, raised an eyebrow and glanced surreptitiously at his assistant, who was avoiding his gaze. He sighed before continuing his 'work', glancing at Jay from time to time.
A few days later, Dick Grayson showed up with the same request, and Danny made sure to kick Jason as soon as he left.

❝   about me, jay? never.   ❞   but there’s a hardness to her face even when she tries to soften it for his sake, a look he’s never seen before in all their time partnering up. even now, it seems like she’s ready to boil over, like something horrible is happening under the surface, something even she can’t contain   ---   that’s how he knows it’s serious.
❝   i’ll be away for awhile, long term contract deal.   ❞   why is she telling him? why did she stop to tell him? why isn’t she already on the move? jason can’t possibly matter this much to her   ---   can he? maybe this is just a bad time, he just caught her at the wrong time. even then, she knows that’s not true. if she hadn’t wanted to be found, she wouldn’t have been or maybe it’s all really fucking pointless.
or maybe she’ll never see jason again and maybe he’s inspired her, given her the delusion that she could be something, a shadow of a hero without giving up her nature and maybe he deserves a goodbye   ---   maybe he deserves something a lot more honest. her head is spinning. she doesn’t know. she’s getting angrier and dizzier by the second.
❝   listen   ---   could you check on my pets for me? just here and there. i’ve got a sitter, but she gets busy sometimes.   ❞
getting invested in people is a stupid, stupid weakness, the very thing making her red with rage in this moment and if she stops now to tell jason any fraction of truth, of how she feels, of where she’s going and that she may never be back, he might be able to stop her, to keep her here. to help her. she doesn’t want to be helped anymore.
