Includes:Stu Macher,Billy Loomis,Jason Voorhees,Micheal Myers,Hannibal Lector(series)
Stu Macher
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After Stu read the response he headed over to the house right away and ran in looking for the “guy” who texted him
It took you a minute to tell him that it wasn’t real and you proved it as well and then he stops and stares at you causing you to giggle as he tackled you onto the bed tickling you
“You thought you where funny?!” He said threw his teeth which caused you to laugh harder and shake your head no. Then after you both layed in each other arms and hung out
Billy Loomis
Tumblr media
Welp-
Billy don’t take you seriously anyways so why would be now?
I mean billy couldn’t even believe you since well- you are you-
Trust maybe one day you’ll get him and it will be good
Jason Vorrhees
Tumblr media
Translation:baby.want to hang out? Baby busy? Who? (You know his fingers are kinda big so he sometimes misses the keys)
Poor baby didn’t understand what you was talking about but knew it was not right
The audacity you had to do such prank on a innocent man like him
Once you came outside he looked at you confused with his head tilted
“I’m sorry my baby ignore what I said” you shake your head facepalming
He grunts to the door as if to ask is someone in there with you
“No I’m alone baby I swear I just just joking with you” you gently rub his stomach then pat it “lets go big boy” he blinks then follows you just happy your here
Micheal Myers
Tumblr media
Yes that is a picture of the outside of your window
He knew you wasn’t busy. He’s always watching you.
You peaked out the window seeing him standing there staring at you. You giggle nervously and open the door for you
He went inside and looked around then walks back to you as he picked you up over shoulder. “Micheal I’m sorry!-“ you laugh as he takes you to the bedroom and sits you down forcing you to watch the TikTok he sent you.
Hannibal Lector
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Okay.
Oh lord. He never speaks with the single word. You know you definitely upset him.
He called your phone as you answered “hey Hanni-“ “y/n. Where are you?”
You show your office room with just yourself and your desk and other things. “I’m here alone Hanni- it was a prank-“
He looked at you as he kept his normal nonchalant expression but his eyes slightly looked around the room then he leans back “oh really?..”
“Yes I promise” you sit the phone down looking at him.
“Well in that case..how about you show me just how busy you are right now.” He slightly gave a sly grin as he looked at you.
You blink as you look back- lets just say you probably would prank him again after that-

Hi, i really like your "life as a female proxie" post and was wondering if you could write a second one😊
Sure thing!
Life as a female Proxy /"things you love"
Warnings: blood,violence,NSFW mentions,suggestive content
It was the mundane, really. The early hours of the day,the smell of the forest, the somewhat warm funny feeling you shared with some of the other creeps, knowing you are all stuck as slaves to a tall being that lacks a face almost as much as it lacks a heart.
The respect the others had for you, some more than the others, the way some passed you and titled their heads that made the strings inside your head tighten about the fact that a faceless creature entrusted you with this responsability.
Maybe the slurs..the constant anger towards your position above the other proxies and below The Operator,it reminds you that you are being seen, that you're not a ghost or a random demon you have to hunt.
Your dreams, where numeros entities showed up,entities where Candy Pop,Jason and often LJ were present, and even if they loved to fuck with your brain, they all acknowledged your power, and sometimes even seemed to guide you to a "better world",almost as if they wanted to have you all for themselves.
The feeling of normality once every two months or so when four residents were assigned to go out to buy necessities for the mansion.Going out in public, being able to make jokes,as if roleplaying normal 9 to 5 working people.
The sex.You could ask for it,you can get it either way, your position certainly gives you this advantage even against the ethics. Not only every resident shared a human known loneliness, but you could wait for some problematic thing to happen that has to be reported to the big boss and you could blackmail any fucker into finishing you off, they can live on without any sort of punishment after that.
The power.Nothing really stops you from being a menace in the mansion.I would say that you can use Slenderman's preference to you to your advantage, but he expects you not to..but after all you're a mortal being,he would be disappointed but not surprised.Nothing stops you from ordering people around, from degrading others, from being a bitch like others chose to be.
The late nights after finishing a week old mission. The last night before heading back to the mansion is filled with a family like atmosphere, almost like all of you are siblings and teasing eachother around.
"It's fucking burnt Brian." Masky commented on the toast his friend gave to him.
"Not as burnt as your head.Quit the drugs." the brunette answered calmly."Are they even allowed?"
"Not sure.Is the witch gonna tell on us?" Masky locked eyes with you as you simply shrugged while crossing your arms.
"W-Well?Are you?" Toby asked while a tic escaped from him."Why do you care Rogers?Your burnt as well?" the white masked man asked while taking another bite.
"No.It's seems..white." he answered while looking at the piece of bread in his hand.
"Fucking idiot.." Masky facepalmed himself while Brian chuckled as you placed a reassuring hand on Toby's back.
The love. The eternal need, the awful dreadful and oh-so-terrible lust, desire, total despair to be loved, accepted and fully knowing you belong. The quiet giggles between some residents, the close bond between Masky and Hoodie, the gazes that some shared that made tension rise in the room..even between demons like us,love wins against all odds.

imagine joe burrows little sister dating a umich hockey boy (maybe one of the sophs) and when she tells him he gets all protective
Burrow’s Sister
Tumblr media
Here’s the long awaited Burrow!Reader fic..
Enjoy
I’m including Sam in this… well bc I love Sam. I don’t have an actual excuse
Also you didn’t specify which year so SURPRISE! Enjoy and find out who the boy i went with is!
———————————————————————————-
“Of all schools, it had to be someone from Michigan?” Sam chuckled as you walked down the hallway with him, looking for your brother.
You had came down to visit and catch the Ravens game during your school break and obviously see your family while you were in town.
Being close to Sam, Sam had agreed to help you around the facility to find your brother. Plus, Sam was like another brother to you. You had been around, especially when you came down to see your family and Joe, long enough to know most of the boys that were still in Cincinnati since Joe had been there.
When you came down, Joe and Olivia were more than happy to host you, especially because while you did love your parents, they could be overbearing at times and Joe knew this. With him not getting to see you often due to school for you and football for him, he was over the moon when you asked to stay with him.
“I mean..” you awkwardly laughed, “you can’t still be holding a grudge years later Sam.”
“Hey! Once a Buckeye, always a Buckeye.”
“I hate you.” You sighed before letting out a soft chuckle.
Sam tossed his arm around your shoulder, “C’mon, I think he’s in the weight room.” He said, “Can’t wait to watch him flip.”
**
You chickened out.
You did not tell Joe about Johnny. Joe was already upset about some things and you decided not to press the issue with telling him about Johnny.
“You-“ Sam facepalmed as you two walked out of the weight room, “You should have told him. Because when Jason-“
“Johnny.” You corrected.
“Right- shows up Sunday, Joe isn’t going to be too happy with you and liable to go all protective on you. You know how he is.” Sam said, “Don’t forget how he was about Tristan.”
“Yeah I know.” You sighed, “but don’t forget he was right about Tris tho- as much as I hate to admit it.”
“Oh trust me. He didn’t shut up for weeks about him being right.” Sam mentioned as he opened the front door for you, “We’re all just glad you wisened up because he was literal trash.”
“Oh I know.” You chuckled as Sam walked you to your car, “I’ll see you later Samuel.”
“I told you to stop calling me that!” He playfully shouted as he started to walk back towards the building.
“Never!” You yelled out the window, his flipping you off as you pulled out of the parking lot.
****
“Hi baby.” Johnny grinned as he walked up to you in the parking lot. You were currently tailgating with Olivia and some of the other wives and girlfriend, waiting to enter the stadium.
Johnny had to arrived later than you because of Michigan playing Ohio State that Friday and Saturday night. You were worried he wouldn’t make it, but he assured you he would be there and that he wouldn’t miss it for the world.
“Hi honey.” You wrapped your arms around his waist, feeling him pull you in close as you heard the murmurs from around you.
“Going to introduce us?” Olivia asked as she gave Johnny a small wave, him offering a soft smile as you pulled away from him.
“This is Johnny. My boyfriend.” You said, your voice fading out with the last words as you looked towards the sky, tucking your hands in your back pockets.
“Boyfriend?” Olivia choked on the sip of beer she took, Paige lightly smacking her back as she let out a splutter of coughs, “Joe is going to murder you for keeping this from him.”
“Oh I’m prepared and I’ve warned Johnny.” You nervously chuckled, “Besides, how mad can he be?”
**
“Don’t be mad.” Olivia said as she laced her hand with Joe’s, him not seeing you with your parents just yet. More importantly, not seeing Johnny just yet.
“Why would I be mad?” He asked as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
“Oh, just wait.” She sighed, “We also might have a slightly unexpected guest tonight.”
“What do you mean slightly?” Joe cocked an eyebrow at her, her shrugging.
“Oh you’ll see.”
Joe and Olivia had finally made their way over to your family. A scowl appeared on Joe’s face the moment he saw you wrapped in an unfamiliar faces arms.
His little sister? With some man he didnt recognize? Who had facial hair? No way.
“And you are?” Joe asked, his chest puffing out slightly as he eyed Johnny up and down, clearly judging him.
“John Beecher.” Johnny unraveled his hand from yours, holding it out to shakes Joe’s, who just ignored it.
“Got it.” He snidely replied as Olivia nudged him the ribs.
“Play nice.” She whispered causing him to roll his eyes at his girlfriend, “I’m assuming well see you at home?” She asked as she watched you nod.
“I think we’re going to go to mom and dad’s and then we’ll be over to settle in. J has his stuff in my car so we’ll get him unpacked for the week.”
Olivia nodded, bidding you both goodbye as Joe followed her to his car.
“Week?!” Joe practically shrieked as they both got into the car, “No fucking way is that.. fuck boy staying with us.”
“He seems nice Joe.” She sighed, “Give him a chance.” she continued, “Don’t forget. You were once that boy too and she’s not twelve anymore.”
Joe let out a grumble under his breath as he started the car.
**
“He’s not staying here.” Joe grumbled to you ask you sat down beside him, you rolling your eyes.
“Olivia said it was okay.”
“Well you’re not staying in the same room.”
“Liv said it was fine.”
“I did.” Olivia said as she walked into the room.
“You’re being just as overbearing as mom right now J.” You replied, it coming out a little harsher than intended, “Maybe I should have just stayed with mom.”
“Maybe you should have.” He remarked, “At least I wouldn’t have some random dude that’s probably boning my sister in my house.”
“Fuck you Joe.” You hissed as you stood up, “When you’re over whatever this is, then we’ll talk.” You continued, “Until then, just leave me alone.”
“Where are you going?”
“Somewhere where you’re not.” You said as you walked up the stairs to the room you were staying in.
Olivia glared at Joe, him tossing his hands up at her, “What?” He asked, his voice laced with slight hostility.
“You Joe.” She grumbled, “You’ve gotta give this whole protective bullshit up. This is absolutely insane. You’re going to push her away with this.”
Joe let out a groan, knowing she was right as he looked towards her.
“Why are you taking her side?” He asked.
“Because I’ve been in that position with brothers who didn’t like the guy I was dating.” She said causing him to raise his eyebrows at her.
“Oh yeah? Who didn’t they like?” He questioned.
“You.” She stated.
“Wait there’s no way they didn’t like-”
“Don’t try and defend yourself now Burrow. They hated you.” She said, “And you wanna know why?” She watched his reaction, continuing once she saw him nod, “It was because they thought you were exactly how you think that poor boy upstairs is. A complete fuck boy who was going to hurt their sister. Use her and leave her in the dust when he went pro.”
Joe stayed silent as he listened to Olivia speak, “I think you need to give him and chance and I think you need to give her more credit than you do. She’s a smart girl. She’s been hurt once and I know she won't let the same mistake happen again. You and I both know this.” She stated, “I think you need to go makeup with her Joe.” she patted his leg as he let out a sigh, knowing she was right, “I think you should get to know him before you start judging him. He seems like a nice guy and your sister really likes him babe.”
**
The tension in the room was thick as you sat down.
“I heard.” He said, “I can leave if I need to sweetheart. I don’t want me being here to cause a rift.”
“It’s not J.” You let out a heavy sigh, “Joe is just being Joe. He was like this with the last guy. It’s just a protective thing- he just doesn’t want me getting hurt.”
“I understand that Y/N, but I also don’t want to be the reason you two fight all week either.”
“I’m not doing this.” You stated as you pinched the bridge of your nose, “He’ll get over it. He’s just- he’s Joe. I’m his little sister.” You said as you looked towards Johnny, watching his face change, “I’m his only little sister.” You reiterated, “He’s naturally more protective. He’s always been like this. It’s nothing new-“
“It isn’t.” You heard Joe’s voice butt in, both yours and Johnny’s head snapping towards the door frame, seeing Joe standing there with his arms across his chest, “and it’ll never change.” He said as he walked into the room.
“When did you-“
“I’ve been standing there a couple of minutes.” He chuckled, “but that’s besides the point Y/N.” He continued as he sat down on the desk chair before rolling over to be in front of you and Johnny, “I’ve just been thinking and I was being an ass. You’re my little sister Y/N-“
“Yeah we’ve established that.”
“Okay smartass.” He chuckled, “as I was saying, I’ll always be protective. That’ll never stop. But what will stop is me questioning your choices. You’re a smart girl. You know what you’re doing.” He said, “I have faith in that.”
“Did Olivia tell you to say this?” You scowled. Your brother would never-
“No. She didn’t.” He said, reassuringly, “Maybe a little nudge, but this all from me, not Liv. I need to realize you’re not a child anymore. You’re a young lady who can make her own decisions. You’ve got this.” He said, “and I know you’ll come to me if anything happens and you know I’ll be there. In a heartbeat.”
You leaned forward, quickly wrapping your arms around Joe’s neck, him reciprocating the action, “Thank you Joe.”
“You’re welcome.” He said as he pressed a kiss to the side of your head before you detached yourself from him.
He gave you a grin as he stood up, the chair sliding backwards hitting the wall with a soft thud.
“I’m Joe.” He said as he held his hand out to Johnny, Johnny immediately standing up as he realized what was going on.
“Nice to meet you Joe, I’m Johnny.” Johnny said as he shook his hand.
“Now c’mon downstairs, I think we need to get to know you better.” Joe grinned, “I think you’ll be sticking around for a while.”
“Does this mean he doesn’t have to move his stuff?” You laughed as you watched Joe whip around, his eyes glaring at you before them softening, “Too far?”
“Just no funny business, okay?” He sighed.
“Deal.” You letting out another laugh as you three made it down the stairs.
Olivia was sitting on the couch, her watching their every move as she saw Johnny and Joe start to joke around as you both sat down beside her, Joe on the other side.
With a soft smile on your face, you cuddled into Johnny’s side as his arm was slung over your shoulder as you watched two of the most important men in your life starting to finally get along, warming your heart to no end.
“Thank you for coming.” You whispered as you looked up at him.
“Thank you for having me.” He grinned as he pressed a kiss to your forehead.
“Gross.” Joe muttered under his breath before letting out a chuckle at your reaction.
“Fuck off Burrow.” You whipping your head around, staring at him.
“You first.”
“Go to bed you little shit,” he said as he reached over, giving your head a light shove, “You all will have an early morning.”
“Wait- why?”
“You’re crazy if you think we don’t have stuff planned.” He said as he stood up, “Goodnight kid.” He wrapped his arms around you, giving you a tight squeeze.
“Goodnight Joe.” You whispered into his chest, wrapping your arms around his waist, your cheek smooshed against him. “Love you.”
“Love you more.” He said, “Now get to bed. We’ve got a long day tomorrow.”
You gave Olivia a side hug as you and Johnny made your way up the stairs.
“I think he likes me.” Johnny grinned from beside you as you two brushed your teeth, getting ready for bed.
“Oh really?” You laughed as you spat the toothpaste into the sink, “I think-“
“Please don’t diminish my hope.” He chuckled.
“You know I can’t do that.” You smiled as you turned towards him, your hands on his shoulders, slowly making their way down his chest, “You know I love ruining your day.” You joked.
“You could never ruin my day.” He said, pressing a kiss to the top of your head, “Never ever.”
You gave him a quick kiss as you two finished getting ready for bed, quickly setting an alarm.
You two laid there for what felt like ever, but in reality, it was only 30 minutes before you rolled over to face him.
“You know, he does like you.” You said, your eyes scanning the profile of his face.
“I figured.” He said, “I’m glad he does. I know he means a lot to you.”
“Good.” You replied, “You mean a lot to me too.” You said, “ Just as much.”
“Good.” He said, pulling you into his chest, you both slowly drifting off to sleep.

Damian Acting Like A Teenager? Impossible.
When Damian entered the halls of Gotham Academy, the first thing he notices was the change in the dark atmosphere. It felt oddly kinder and more lighthearted. Everywhere he turns, there are whispers focus around the new girl. At first, he didn’t care about the gossip, well, that was until he met her.
It was an unusual encounter, something that he would look down on.
It was the passing period, and she was running down the halls in a hurry as he was walking to his next class, one that he didn’t particularly care for; they bump into each other, causing a standstill in the halls. Everyone wondered how the dark prince would react to their newly dubbed princess of sunshine. They expected a yelling match, which, of course, occurred, but what they didn’t expect was an eventual best of the worst of alliance ever made.
Several months passed since the two had met and several weeks since the blooming of Damian and Marinette’s friendship, and not a single student could say that there weren’t surprised.
The moment Marinette had broken down any (and all) walls that the boy had placed, she was able to make the stoic teen become his age. It started small with a joke here and there; then it progressed into card games followed by video games. To this day, Damian swears that he’ll beat her at a shooting game at one point, to which Marinette would respond with a laugh and an over-the-shoulder wink. The young Wayne swears that he has never blush a day in his life, but the photographic proof on Marinette’s phone says otherwise.
The school soon became accustomed to being Daminette’s playground. At first, the teachers were opposed to the idea, but after seeing how slightly more open Damian has become, they slowly agreed to the concept of allowing the duo to have less strict rules. That and they didn't want to be sued by the Wayne family.
Which now brings us to this moment: Marinette swings on a swing set while Damian practices his form with a katana; don’t ask how he managed to get it past security-- cause there is no answer.
“You know, maybe we should do something wild?” Marinette thinks aloud, looking up to the sky with a mischief smirk on her lips.
Damian doesn’t turn to her; he only sets the blade down to his side. “What mayhem do you have in mind?”
Marinette giggles uncontrollably.
Let’s assume that whatever Marinette had in mind would rule the yearbooks for years to come.
~☾★☽~
Since his partnership with Marinette, Damian has been hiding his characteristic change at home. Surprisingly, it was simple. A few death threats here and there, maybe sneaking out moments every so often. No one at the Wayne cared enough to pay any attention to it. It only then became a shock when Damian left for school along the lines of being late. Alfred had offered to take him to school to which Damian declined and got onto his “normal” motorcycle and speeds off.
“Does anyone else seem to think that Damian is acting strange?” Dick asks, pipping his head down from the ceiling. He’s on the chandelier again. Poor Alfred, maybe Dick should dust the chandelier for him as an apology.
Tim walks in with a large, filled to the brim, coffee mug in hand, “Which one?” He absently wonders, taking a long sip. The dark circles and bags around his eyes explain it all.
“I do concur with Master Richard; the young master has been acting somewhat strange for quite some time now.” Alfred appears out of nowhere, thus starting an array of concerns.
It wasn’t long before Jason came in shouting demands with the head of the household trailing behind him. Alfred reprimands Jason for the yelling as he hands Bruce a cup of coffee.
Not caring enough about the conversation and looking like a madman, Jason shouts, “Look, I can’t explain it, but we’re going to need Demon Spawn for something huge.”
“Uh, why would we need Baby Bird?” Dick asks, dropping onto the floor and twisting his body. “Not that I don’t mind getting Damian involved.”
“Look, there’s no time to explain,” Jason facepalms and begins to push everyone towards the door despite the lack of proper wear they have on.
After several protests and one change of clothes, the Wayne household now stands in front of the gates of Gotham Academy.
“Is it me, or does this place look less you know Gotham-y and full of life?” Tim ponders, narrowing his eyes, as he takes a long sip from a to-go coffee cup with Red Robin’s emblem.
“No, no, Timmy, I see it too.” Dick whispers as Jason struts past the gates and onto the school’s property like a man on a mission.
Bruce sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose, “Come on, let’s go get your brother so Jason can stop being Jason.”
Tim shrugs before passing the gates himself, with Dick following him.
Upon entering the school, they could immediately see that it was either a passing period or free time from the number of students in the halls. Some student dared to pull out their phones while other whispers amongst themselves.
Bruce makes his way to the attendance office, where the attendance assistant, Joyce, resides sitting at the desk.
“Hello Joyce, I’m here to pick up Damian. He has a, uh, dentist appointment this evening.” Bruce speaks, hoping that she wouldn’t catch the lie.
“Well Mr. Wayne, Damian is, uh…” After lingering in her thoughts, Joyce turns to someone besides her. “Do you know where Damian Wayne would be at today?”
“Try the art room.” A feminine voice answers, followed by a series of typing noises.
Joyce turns back to the Wayne family and smiles, “He should be in the art room; it’s down the hall to your right, you should not miss it, as it’s in the only hallway that has a series of artwork posted on the walls. Before you go, please sign here."
Joyce hands Bruce a sign-out sheet, to which the man signs and ushers his wards to search for his youngest.
“They’re so screwed.” The same feminine voice speaks, causing Joyce to break out laughing.
It took a total of four different locations for the men to find the youngest Wayne.
First, they went to the art room like Joyce’s co-worker told them to do.
When they got there, Damian wasn't there, but the teacher did show Bruce a couple of Damian's artworks. Bruce couldn't help but feel proud.
While looking around the room, one of the art students told them they last saw Damian playing Pokémon Go near the gym; he was trying to catch a legendary Pokémon that spawned there.
So, of course, after an awkward eye contact with one another, they walk to the gym. Once again, Damian wasn’t there but a different student in his stead. He tells them that Damian was making ice sculptures out of ice cream at the cafeteria. The student then goes on to explain that Damian had some wicked skills with a knife.
Jason, with wide eyes, practically shouted at the student that he was crazy and that Damian would never, and he means NEVER would do something that stupid. The student shrugs it off like it was an everyday occurrence. It was Dick that had to hold Jason back from thrashing the teen. Bruce then apologizes to the instructor for their disturbance, as Tim walks casually behind Dick carrying Jason.
By the time they got to the cafeteria, it was damn near empty aside from a few students still eating. There were no signs of ice cream or the tools that would go into making an ice sculpture. Tim had to ask a few students to see if Damian was in here at some point in time. One of the workers overheard the question and answered him. Evidently, Damian was there earlier making sculptures out of ice cream before handing it out to students.
When they asked the question that has been slowly driving the four insane, the worker replies with: “Upstairs racing on these old colorful scooter board down the halls."
After three locations and no Damian, Tim wanted nothing more but to have a mental breakdown, and he would have if it wasn’t for Bruce holding him up and taking his coffee away.
So, they quickly found themselves on the second level of the school. There was no sight of Damian Wayne, though there were wheel tracks smudged into the flooring.
“Are you kidding me?” Jason shouts out into the ceiling. Thankfully, there were no students in the halls to hear it. Well, that might have been the case if it wasn’t for a teacher to open their door and shh the male. It took every bone in Jason's body not to show the teacher his middle finger.
After a beat of silence and walking down the hall, they overhear a familiar voice.
“Angel, you are desperately in the wrong here. The bear only wears one color, so it has to the color red.” Jason stops dead in his tracks and turns to railings.
The voice was too good to be true.
Looking over the staircase, they find an alcove, and sitting in it is none other than Damian Wayne himself, but he’s not alone.
“I’m telling you, Wayne. Pooh’s favorite color is yellow.” The female answers before taping her fingers as she makes her points, “He loves honey, which is by default a yellow color. He's never seen with a yellow background, and if yellow didn't clash with his fur, he would definitely be wearing it.”
“I disagree. Winnie the Pooh has been drawn on numerous of occasions with red items, not yellow. Case in point, the red balloon, his shirt." He counters. The conversation continues with banters and statements; whether it was true or false is up to debate.
This was not happening.
Tim.exe has stopped working.
Jason.exe has stopped working.
Jaws dropped, a low groaning sound.
They cannot be witnessing this. The most deadliest of the Wayne’s is currently arguing about Winnie, the motherfucking, Pooh’s favorite color.
Bruce has no words. He's practically in the same stance as his middle children. Dick, on the other hand, pulls out his phone and begins to record what remains of the conversation.
No one dares to move or utter out words. This version of Damian is the apocalypse. Nothing in the world is okay.
Slowly, the four Waynes exit the school; no one saw them leave.
Legend has it that Damian never went home that day despite being excused from his classes. When he had returned home, his family didn't utter a word to him. He was meet with either a profusely blinking, unwanted hug or laughter, as they were still in shock at what they just encountered. It wasn’t until a couple of months later that all hell breaks loose. Damian had introduced the family to Marinette.

Useful Part 2
fluff with a little hurt and comfort. If you want answers as to the lack of angst, look through my recent posts for an explanation.
—* — * — * —* —*
“Wait, you have a WHAT?” were the first words that the rest of the Gotham-based vigilantes heard when they finally were able to track down where Damian had gone. Dick looked over at Bruce, who was noticeably tense. No surprise there, the man had just found out that he had a second biological child. One who was apparently a superhero already, without his intervention, and also apparently had a tragic background in the League of fucking Assassin Assholes. Not to mention that Damian’s track record with meeting siblings wasn’t great, even if this one wasn’t actually new to him. Nobody had any real fear of Damian relapsing on his no-kill rule, they knew he had matured far too much to be at risk of killing for something as immature as sibling rivalry anymore.
But there was still fear. Because this new Wayne was an Unknown Factor, and as a rule the Bats hated Unknown Factors. And they had no idea what the relationship between the two had been before they had been separated, or what it would become now.
“That wasn’t Damian’s voice,” Dick helpfully pointed out the obvious. Bruce only frowned, doing his best (and failing) to hide his anxiety about what they would find. Silently, the group inched forward to the edge of the abandoned building they were on top of so that they could look over at what was happening. What they saw was a girl, presumably the same one who had been in a ladybug onesie and had fearlessly begun to ask them to leave Paris— until she had laid proper eyes on Robin and fled, that was. That girl was sitting down next to an unmasked Damian, who had his arm around her shoulders and let her lean into his side. He even smirked cheerfully at her question before continuing to speak to her.
“A dragon-bat. I knew you’d love hearing about him, I’ll introduce you when you come visit the Batcave. His name is Goliath,” Damian admitted smugly. Despite the familiar attitude and pride behind his words though, his spying family couldn’t help but notice that he kept periodically rubbing the girl’s (they really needed to find out her name) shoulder in reassurance. None of them missed the tear tracks on both of their faces, or how red the girl’s eyes were. Clearly they had missed something big.
But nobody wanted to try to figure that out yet. This scene was too precious, too breathtaking for them to interrupt just yet. They had never seen Damian this vulnerable around someone outside of their little circle before, someone from the Time Before Bruce, no less. Most of the time, only Nightwing was able to see this side to Damian. And usually the roles were reversed, with Damian being the one consoled. They had never seen him in the position of the comforter before. The pillar of support.
It really cemented just how far he had come.
So they watched silently as the girl flinched, pulling away a bit and hunching in on herself. The laugh she let out was small and overflowing with self-degradation.
“You make it sound as if the rest of your family actually wants me to visit,” she replied sourly. Damian gently cuffed her over the head, frowning.
“Two things,” he held up two fingers from his free hand. “One: They will. They accepted me, and I was— well, you remember how I used to be. Once they actually meet you, and process the fact that there’s another Wayne now, they will bombard you with more welcoming than you will know what to do with. Two: It’s Our family, Marinette. Not mine, ours.”
Well, at least they had a name now. But it seems like they had bigger issues now, like Marinette’s clearly damaged sense of self. Jason and Tim traded knowing glances; it wasn’t hard for them to guess where, or how, she might have been damaged enough to think so lowly of herself.
They watched as Marinette shook her head.
“I don’t know. It’s one thing to try to… to get to know you again. We used to be close before… everything,” she haltingly argued, voice small and frail and uncertain. But she never once looked away from Damian’s eyes, trying to convey as best as she could what she was feeling. “But they’re different. They don’t have any reason to trust or like me, Dami. And I’m bad at, well everything, but especially,” she waved her hands frantically as if indicating the whole situation they were in. “I mean, listen to me! I can barely articulate right now, and I’m talking to someone I’ve known my whole life! I’m a mess. Nobody wants a mess.”
It was Damian’s turn to snort, and he pulled her right back into his side. “Please. If anything, that’s exactly the type of child Father goes looking for. We’re all a mess. Especially Father, trust me.”
“You’re just trying to make me feel better,” she accused suspiciously, but sank into his sideways embrace anyway. Damian chuckled.
“No, I’m being honest. He’s terrible at emotions, not that I really have much room to talk. We all are pretty bad with them. But he’s the most obvious when it comes to that issue,” Damian smirked over at his sister conspiratorially. “For example. He still tries to tell people that he works alone, and pushes people away because he has this intense desire to protect, but doesn’t know how to say “I don’t want you to get hurt, stop worrying me,” so instead he says “Go away, I don’t need you,” only for us to see through that nonsense and remind him that the amount of people in his team is in the double digits already. He doesn’t want to admit he cares about us and is vulnerable—”
“Sounds familiar,” Marinette teased with a watery grin, startling a short laugh from her twin. He nudged her a little roughly (but not to roughly) and playfully glared at her. Marinette just giggled.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” he lied with a grin before waving his free hand in dismissal. “Anyway. Another example. He has no idea how to tell a stranger, “hey, I’m your father and I will not reject you. In fact, I’m completely willing to adopt you right this moment and whisk you away to Gotham and relative safety and hire an entire team of therapists to help you and buy you half the world if you asked for it,” so instead he and the rest of our emotionally constipated family just lurks on the edge of a building in broad daylight eavesdropping on us and expects us not to notice.”
“Wait what,” Marinette’s gaze instantly whipped up towards the sky, taking only half a second to locate the aforementioned eavesdroppers. Everyone except Bruce at least had the courtesy to duck down and pretend not to be there when they noticed she had seen them, leaving Batman standing seemingly alone on the concrete roof. Marinette blinked once. Twice. Then turned to Damian. “I’m gonna blame the fact that I didn’t notice them on emotional turmoil, because there is no way I’ve gotten THAT rusty.”
Damian smiled, but didn’t laugh. He knew that was a deflection to try and distract from Marinette’s quickly resurging self-consciousness. Her hands were already trembling again, and the fear from only minutes ago had resurfaced. The insecurity. He could practically see the words “I’m not good enough,” written in her irises.
“You’ll be fine,” he whispered, standing up and pulling her with him. “If anyone has to worry here, it’s me.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” Marinette whisper-hissed right back, eyes wide in disbelief and confusion. “You’re— You! Mister Perfect!”
Damian rolled his eyes, and his self-deprecating smirk matched the laugh Marinette had given just a few minutes earlier. “For the League, maybe,” he shrugged. “Never the Wayne family. Which is why I know you’ll be fine. If they put up with everything I’ve done and still call me one of them, they’ll accept you with barely a second thought.”
Marinette’s next argument was cut off by the sound of a dozen soft footfalls stirring up dirt not far ahead of them. The BatClan had landed from the rooftop.
Marinette gulped.
But if there was one thing— one thing she still remembered from her days as Marie Al-Ghul, it was how to fake pride and confidence. She straightened her shoulders automatically, lifted her chin, and pulled away from Damian’s supporting arm around her shoulder. Damian let her.
A little bit of old resentment flared up in him as he saw Batman walk up close enough to comfortably talk with them. Resentment that he no longer held onto, but that had haunted him nearly every night of the first two years he spent with his dad. The realization that maybe his twin was the one that was meant to be a Wayne. Marie had the blue eyes, the compassion, the more specifically detective-oriented mind. The calm head. Sometimes. Marie was exactly who he imagined when he thought of a naturally born member of the BatClan. Stubborn, clever, morally just. She had risked immediate death just because she refused to fight him, for crying out loud. Because she didn’t want to hurt the boy who used to be her best friend. The only ally she had ever had, growing up.
Meanwhile, he still had issues reigning in his anger sometimes. He had too much blood on his hands, he was more of a battlefield tactician than a long-term strategist. Still stubborn, but also completely unaware of the pain he brought others with his words or actions a lot of the time. He used to be such a rage fueled little demon, and thinking about how his sister fit the classic Wayne outline more thoroughly than he did had made him destroy more than a few practice dummies in frustration.
But now, looking at Marinette trying so hard to appear strong and proud when he knew she was still so shattered inside, relief overpowered the old and dull resentment. This was what she needed, he could sense that easily. She, just like him all those years ago, needed Bruce and the others to start to heal her and reforge what the League had badly molded.
“... Marinette, I suppose?” Damian nearly facepalmed at his father’s awkward attempt at a conversation starter. Marinette herself was clearly too keyed up and overthinking things to even register any amusement at the lame attempt, merely nodding with an overly serious expression on her face.
“Marinette Dupain-Cheng, Monsieur Wayne. Or that’s my name nowadays, that is,” She stumbled a little in her response before clenching her fists and forcing herself to continue as calmly as she could muster up. “My birth name was Marie Al-Ghul.”
Bruce’s eyebrows visibly furrowed underneath his cowl. “Was?”
“I…” Marinette finally looked away, shame creeping back onto her face. “I was explicitly told that I was stripped of the Al-Ghul name and would be killed if I ever dared lay claim to it again. So I not-so-legally changed it. And I was later adopted.”
Several sharp gasps or the hiss of breath through teeth bit through the quiet breeze. Nobody was necessarily surprised, Marinette could see it when she looked through her eyelashes and examined the winces and sympathy on the faces of the vigilantes before her. Batman’s shoulders were stiff, as if someone had paralyzed only his shoulder blades.
“And the people who adopted you?” Batman pursued. Marinette couldn’t read his tone very well, but it sounded vaguely angry so she quickly raised her hands in a placating gesture and her eyes widened significantly.
“They’ve been amazing! They don’t know anything about my past, or who raised me, but they are endlessly patient with me. I mean, honestly! Sabine caught me when I was trying to steal one of her gold bracelets in Hong Kong— and I know I’ve never been as good of a combatant as Dami, but I’ve always been better at sleight of hand and stealth so honestly that’s impressive— and she saw my dirty eight-year-old face and for some reason decided, ‘yeah I want this one as my daughter’ and roped Tom right into it and next thing I know they somehow tailed me to my hideout? I still don’t know how the hell they managed that, but Tom had a huge plate of steaming buns and I was so hungry and suddenly it’s two years later and I’m adopted and we’re on a plane to Paris—” Marinette threw up her hands. “I still don’t fully grasp what happened sometimes.”
She belatedly seemed to realize that she had just gone on an entire breathless rant at the speed of sound, and slapped her hands over her mouth before lunging into a deep bow. “I apologize! I spoke horridly out of turn!”
To her surprise though, she was met with a soft laugh instead of a scolding. She jerked in surprise, whipping her head up only to see Batman holding a hand over his chin to hide his large grin. It only took another second for the boys behind him to laugh a lot LESS softly. Nightwing strolled over casually and swung an arm around both her and Damian’s shoulders, playfully nudging her brother with his knee.
“I think she fits right in, don’t you little D?”
“Of course,” Damian scoffed, though his eyes were playful. “She is a Wayne by blood. She ‘fits in’ more than you strays.”
“Dami!” Marinette whipped back to him and puffed out her cheeks. “That was uncalled for!” she barked. Damian held his hands up in surrender.
“Relax,” he said as soothingly as he could manage. “They know I’m joking,” he dropped his hands and a knowing smirk took over his face. “And besides, now you’re relaxed so my plan worked,” Marinette could only blink at that. She… did feel more relaxed, actually. “Also. I told you you’d be accepted easily. They already consider you one of us.”
“Wha— there’s no way—” she frantically looked at each of the older men around her, but each of them just shot her a smile or grin and a short nod. Her shoulders and jaw both fell, and it broke a little of everyone’s heart.
Marinette looked so utterly shocked, bewildered to be accepted as if it was still something profoundly foreign to her. And there was that disbelief in her eyes, that distrust that screamed that she expected some sort of lie here. That told that she thought this would all crumble away at any second. If anyone had any reservations about bringing her into their inner circles, it vanished right that moment. She needed support, or she’d crumble away and they all knew it.
“How about we start by talking about the situation with Hawkmoth?” Red Robin spoke up, walking forward to stand beside Batman. “I assume that’s a little more in your element?”
Damian silently vowed to thank Tim later for that. In a silent, completely anonymous way of course. Couldn’t have Tim thinking they were friends or something now, could he? Marinette instantly straightened up and nodded, her confidence returning with a little more sincerity this time.
“Yeah. Yeah, let me transform again. It’ll be easier to explain.”
—*—*—*—*—*
It was three weeks later, on Marinette’s third now-weekly visit to the Batcave, when the question finally came up. Jason had asked to spar with Marinette for the first time, having seen her in action as Ladybug and wanting to test the girl when she didn’t have superpowers to rely on. Damian hadn’t been down in the cave to warn him, and the result was Jason’s gut sinking as Marinette scrambled as far away from him as she could, eyes wide and chest heaving in the beginnings of a panic attack.
“Shit,” Jason muttered before he quickly knelt down and did his best to talk her down, to calm her until her breathing slowed and her pupils were back to normal. It wasn’t long afterwards that Marinette started hugging herself, refusing to look at him. But he wasn’t going to just back down, he wanted to solve this issue. If even the mere suggestion of a spar was enough to set her off, he needed to figure out why and fix it.
So he carefully lowered himself so he was sitting only a foot away from her, resting his arms across his knees casually.
“Sorry,” he apologized. “Didn’t think it would be a sore subject. That’s on me.”
Marinette just shrugged, but didn’t answer him. She just buried her face in her arms and took a shaky breath.
Jason let the silence linger for a while before trying again. “Does this have to do with certain Asshole Assassins?”
That startled a slightly hysterical bark of laughter from her, and she had to wipe away a few tears when she raised her head and finally turned it in his direction slightly. Not enough for her to be looking at him,  but just a subtle turn to show that she was listening and speaking to him. “Yeah.”
“You know, you never told us why you got disowned,” Jason tried to make his words as casual as possible, but wasn’t surprised when Marinette still stiffened and took a sharp breath. He didn’t push. The stage was set, and he’d wait until either she took the opportunity to open up or told him to leave well enough alone. Her tongue flicked out to wet her lips, and her foot tapped on the ground a bit. Clear signs of her anxiety around the subject, and Jason’s hopes vanished a little. He would probably have to wait longer for her to be ready to share.
But, to his pleasant surprise, he was wrong. She took another few minutes to gather her thoughts, but she did eventually open up to him.
“I refused to fight Damian,” she admitted. “It was… We were seven. It wasn’t supposed to be a fight to the death, but it was a very important spar. We were using live weaponry, and we were told to fight until we couldn’t anymore. Whoever fell first would be relegated as a mere soldier, and have to fight for status like any other assassin in the League. The winner would officially be named as G— as Ra’s Heir. I didn’t want to fight, because I knew Damian would win but I also knew that it wouldn’t be as easy as Ra’s probably expected if I gave it my all like he wanted. I knew both Damian and I would be heavily injured if I did as he asked, and it wouldn’t be worth it. If I misjudged anything, any single hit, I could have accidentally injured Damian permanently and ruined his worth in Ra’s eyes, and that wasn’t an option. I didn’t care that throwing the fight was as good as giving up my life, because at least I could be sure that Damian kept his. I could make sure that he was treated well, or as well as anyone could hope for in the League anyway. I could, with only a few words, make sure he became indispensable. Ra’s and Talia never liked me as much as Damian anyway, I figured… I figured it was nobody’s loss,” She swallowed heavily, clenching her eyes shut. “I was always just the spare. The extra. Damian was their crown prince, the one with actual value. Even to me. I saw him, and I saw everything I wanted to be. I… I tossed down my weapons and let him stab me, because I figured I owed it to him for being such a failure in comparison to him. That I owed it to him to do everything I could to make things easier for him, since I was just an unnecessary obstacle—” strong arms wrapped around her, and she turned to sob into Jason’s chest as he just silently held her.
“Idiot,” Damian whispered, making Marinette jump. Her twin sat only a few feet away, though only Jason would have known when exactly he had gotten there with them. He shook his head at her. “I never would have gotten as far as I did without you,” he whispered, looking up at the cave ceiling. “You were the only real rival I had. When you left, everything was either too easy or nearly impossible, nothing was the same as trying my best against someone who was just as good as me. And when I got here and met the others, I didn’t think any of them were worthy of taking your position, you know,” he scoffed a bit as he got lost in his memories. “That’s why I hated Tim for so long, I think. He reminded me of you so much that I wanted nothing more than to punch him for daring to replace you—”
“Heh, the Replacement twice over, huh?” Jason joked. Damian chuckled with a small eye roll.
“Plus, he just has a really punchable face,” Damian added, trying to distract from the emotion behind everything he had just admitted. “Part of me thought you were dead. The other part refused to believe that. And seeing Tim and how some of his mannerisms were the same as yours,” Damian shrugged a little. “It stung. Especially that second year, when I started to regret that you never had the chance to come here and join them with me. Meet them with me.”
Marinette sniffled. “... Who are you and what have you done with Dami? He’s never this sappy.”
Damian flicked a pebble at her head with a good natured glare, successfully diffusing the serious air a little. Marinette wouldn’t ever be normal, and it would take a while before she was no longer fragile, but she could get there. Especially now that her bridges with her brother had been mended, and and a whole new family had cropped up to help support her.
She was glad Damian had convinced her to try, again.

Tumblr media
he’s the cook out of the both of u
i literally just imagine him knowing how to cook, probably from years of watching alfred and maybe going to cooking classes on the side
doesn’t honestly know what to do with free time so he applied to a few classes tbh
if you stitch his initials into the curl of your sweater, he’ll melt honestly
same if you carved yours into a few of his
u both have this corny thing of a little heart shaped pin that he wears onto his sweaters also
jason makes fun of you both for it
“fucking nerds”
one night you talk to dick about him and the rest of the batfamily needing one night of a break and to do something fun
thats when you and him come up with a mystery crime game
like u know those ones where u rent a room and everyone gets their own character to roleplay and everyone has to find out whos the killer
yeah thats what u two come up with LMAO
u and richard are not the best at fun ideas
you explain the plans while the rest of them are looking at u like ur crazy
dick is just smiling widely
somehow u get them too all argee
and everyone takes their active role
bruce is a famous detective, tim, cass and jason are siblings whos father just got murdered, duke is the dead dad, barbara is their mother, damian is the butler, alfred is the one in charge of the will, and steph is a family friend while you and dick are guests are the ‘party’
“why am i the butler? is this jasons doing?!”
“no demon child, ever thought maybe its just your role in the family?”
dick facepalms
“both of u stop, the order is random now lets begin”
the whole thing is just a mess and everyone fighting
also declaring that the other is the killer
everything is so messy and stupid that bruce cant even link who murdered duke
“this is unorganized and ridiculous! how can i connect the dots when none of them match!”
in the end everyone finds out steph was the killer, who was the child of an affair and apparently duke was her real father and she wanted revenge
“no way did Blondie outsmart us”
you and dick hype steph up while the rest wants to kill u three
“good family bonding everyone :)” dick 2021
he also loves traditional winter things to do
ice skating and being amazing at it, surprise surprise
shows off sm and laughs when u fall on your ass
also does the whole “oh look ifs mistletoe :9” while literally holding it over your head
you prefer to stay at the wayne manor for christmas time tbh
and fall as well
especially how lively it starts getting around that time
for christmas crime fighting slows a bit and everyone’s running around for christmas gifts
and alfred is always baking something and the manor gets that christmas smell of pine and the coldness outside
building snowmen is without a doubt
same with snowball fights
there’s definitely a point in there where you learn how to start stitches for when dick comes home all banged up
always patching him up and applying medical because you know he’ll never do it
same with reminding him of it
a lil routine of you putting healing creams on the needed places before you two go to sleep
him getting use to sleeping with you everynight that its hard for him to fall asleep without you
you guys are losers and mock bruce whenever he’s talking serious
jason joins in too
bruce always ends up turning around and glaring at u both
for some reason he always has cold ass feet? and he loves to touch you with them and laugh when you scream at it
also has freezing hands and forgets to wear gloves most of the time in fall and winter
so it leaves with you of the duty and taking his hands and rubbing and blowing on them
as well as placing them in your pockets
he loves kissing u the most when you’re both just walking out in the freezing snow
you look so pretty with tinted pink cheeks and your nose heating up
plus your little sniffles
he’ll never tell you but 50% of the time he leaves his gloves at home on purpose
he enjoys watching you get annoyed at him and grabbing his hands in your tiny ones to warm his up

How the Cookie Crumbles
To say his brothers fought would be an understatement: They warred. That. That was the better word. However, it was Dick who was the peacemaker among them. The mediator extraordinaire, translating all his brothers’ woes and misunderstandings into less doom-pending transgressions. But to say this unofficial, yet very necessary part he played was tasking was yet another understatement of unspeakable proportions. It was a FUCKING LOT.
“I swear to God, Drake. You and Brown are a special kind of stupid.”
“Shut up, Damian! It’s a good idea!” Tim grumbled in reply.
“Yeah! You’re just mad you didn’t think of it first!”
Dick’s face fell upon hearing the argument and considered turning the other way, but he’d learned the hard way that his lack of interference could result in bloodshed. Damian did have a history of stabbing Tim, and Robin had an impressive body count, according to Jason. I’d better  make sure he doesn’t add two more.
“Well, fuck me and my  entire life,” Dick droned in frustration. “What are you three bitching about now?”
“Damian keeps saying our idea is stupid,” Stephanie tattled.
“Yeah!” Tim added with crossed arms. “He says we lack the fortitude for good ideas!”
“You do!” the current robin exclaimed.
“Damian?”
The youngest batboy rolled his eyes and reasoned, “Listen, I know these two brain donors barely have two brain cells to rub between them—”
“That’s not the only thing they rub!” Jason called from the other room.
Damian again rolled his eyes in contempt and continued, “And I’ve accepted, as a member of this family, that everyone gets to act a little stupid from time to time. However, as much as I would like to respect their commitment to their shared stupidity, I feel as if they are abusing the privilege and it needs to stop before one of them gets hurt.”
“Wow, he actually cares,” Jason added from still in another room.
“Have you been sitting there listening the whole time?” Dick asked, near facepalm.
“Affirmative,” Jason confirmed, entering from the hall.
“And you did nothing to stop them fighting?”
“It’s funnier this way.”
“Do I always have to be the responsible one?”
“Affirmative,” all four said with little thought.
“Okay then,” Dick sighed with reluctance. “Damian, I know you find it hard to accept the choices of others, but you need to understand that free choice and expression is about accepting that others may not make the same choices as you, and that’s okay. It’s the same as you choosing not to take my dating advice and ask Raven out because you’re afraid of rejection—”
“Shut up, Grayson! This isn’t about me!!!” Damian spat.
“Damian has the hots for Raven?” Jason teased. “You have good taste, Mighty Mouse. She got a great—”
“Don’t even finish that sentence, Todd!” Dick and Damian ordered in unison.
“I was gonna say personality,” Jason droned. “Get your minds out of the gutter. I mean for fuck’ sake.”
“Sure you were,” Tim replied with a glower.
“Yeah Tim, cause you never stare at her tits while you talk to her,” Jason added, throwing him doubly under the bus.
“Dude, are you trying to get me killed?” Tim said, shooting an elbow into his brother’s ribs as Damian and Stephanie both glared. Spurring Dick into a further mood for murder.
“My point being is, just because you don’t like other peoples’ ideas, doesn’t mean they’re stupid.”
“Tell them the idea, guys!” Jason urged, stirring the pot.
Stephanie and Tim looked at each other and nodded, as though they’d discovered the holy grail itself. “We’re gonna write a series of YA novels and sell them on the web!” Steph sang optimistically.
“Yeah, it’s a huge and diverse market,” Tim added.
“And with established characters, we’ll make a killing.”
Dick’s brow furrowed. “That sounds like fanfiction?”
“It sounds like utter bullshit,” Damian sneered, not single fuck given.
“It’s not bullshit,” Tim snapped. “YA novels make up a huge portion of the market. People love those things.”
“Then name one YA novel that has sold more than a manga in the last 10 years?”
Tim shrugged. “I can’t think of one at the top of my head, but there they definitely exist and sell.”
“Yeah, so does my fanfiction based on this family,” Jason added under his breath.
“What?” Everyone asked.
“Nothing. Continue.”
“So anyway, I told Damian it’s a foolproof plan.”
Dick rolled his eyes with a bit of doubt, but who was he to judge or discourage their creativity. I mean, he dropped out of college after all? “I’m not saying I believe it’s bulletproof, because frankly, nothing is. But I’m curious why you would consider telling Damian? I mean, he hates most things.”
“And Drake. I hate Drake.”
“We’re all very aware, Dami,” Dick drawled in annoyance. “But yeah, why would you tell him anything important to you? Especially that?”
“Well, we kinda needed a loan. I knew Bruce would undoubtedly say no and, well, Damian has money.”
“Because I make good business decisions.”
“I don’t know why I thought of asking you?”
“You didn’t, Jason told you to,” Stephanie confessed, recalling an earlier conversation.
“Jason, really?” Dick tsked.
“Hey, Damian does make good business decisions. Who do you think cleans and invests money? It’s certainly not Alfred.”
“Because Alfred would have nothing to do with your blood money, Jason. And Damian, I’m very disappointed in you!”
“Grayson, I don’t know what high horse you are riding on today, but you better come off it. Father told me if I wanted money, that I needed to earn it and that I should get a job. So I got one.”
“Laundering money for Red Hood’s criminal Enterprise is not a job!”
“Actually it is. Mighty Mouse made us an LLC and everything. I own several Wash & Folds, all legitimate! Thanks to Hell Spawn here! I’m actually considering making him a partner.”
“So will your LLC fund our YA Novels?”
“Oh fuck no!”
“Come on, Jay! We have a solid business plan,” Stephanie pleased.
“You’re business plan is a bunch of meaningless numbers written on the back of a napkin and poorly illustrated versions of us,” Damian said, holding up the napkin in question.
“Okay, so it’s not the final draft, but we’re working on it!” Tim said pointedly.
“Yeah, as tempting as this all sounds, I didn’t make my money making half baked business decisions,” Jason reasoned
“No, you made it by taking over Gotham’s drug trade,” Dick clarified with disapproval.
“Which was a solid business decision.”
“Why do I even talk to you?”
“I don’t know why I talk to any of you,” Damian scowled, arms crossed, grateful there was no shared genetics between him and his adoptive kin. “I don’t understand what father saw in any of you.
“I can’t answer that,” Jason replied. “However, I can tell you, from personal experience, what he saw in your mom.”
“Do you wanna die, Todd?”
“Do you wanna not have a job?” Jason wanted. “Also, been there done that. But hey, if I died twice then I’d have buffy status so don’t threaten me with a good time, kid.”
“On that note, I’m leaving,” Damian grimaced. “I have to meet Raven, anyway.”
“Oh,” Dick sang. “You have a date!”
“It’s not a date.”
“Bet you wish it was a date,” Stephanie teased. “Y’know, if you just stopped acting like a dick all the time, I bet she’d go out with you.”
“Shut up, Brown.”
“Oh no,” Dick smiled. “I know it’s hard to believe, but he’s nice to Raven.”
“Hey keep that shit up,” Jason added. “If you’re nice to her, she’d be nice to you!”
“I hate all of you,” Damian proclaimed and stormed away.
“Fuck you too! See you at work Monday! Jason called, earning a tiger middle finger.
“He might be an asshole, but he’s a good kid,” Jason nodded with a sense of pride, causing to Dick to silently scoff. “Still needs to get laid though.”
“Bruce is gonna be so pissed when he finds out you pulled Dami into your bullshit.”
“You’re using Raven’s pet name for him now?” Jason mocked. “And fucker’s gonna have to prove it first; there’s a reason I hired ‘Dami’ for that job.”
“Dude, fuck you; dig your grave,” Dick lamented. “And don’t come at me with one of your tired ass death jokes, they’re getting old.”
“Suit yourself,” the Outlaw glowered as silence set in.
“So Dick,” Tim dared sheepishly. “You, um, wanna invest in--”
“Absolutely not,” the elder hero replied.
Leaving Jason to chuckle. “And that’s the way the cookie crumbled.”
If you enjoyed that feel free to leave me kudos 👉 here on Ao3 lol. If you have any remdom prompts send them my way; maybe I’ll feel inspired 😘

As they packed up their once called home, they drove to the Dupain-Cheng Bakery one last time.
At least Paris didn't need to worry about any akumas.
As they Marinette opened the door to the Dupain-Cheng Boulangerie et Pâtisserie memories came flowing in, as tears slowly made their way down her cheek.
Tom, and Sabine closed the bakery for the day, their daughter was moving out, well she already did, but this time out of country.
Mariette rushed to her parents.
"I'm gonna miss you Maman, and Papa." Marinette said as she wiped down a stray tear, and pulled her parents into a big hug.
"Don't worry, we'll visit soon." Adrien said as they followed into the bakery, as he brought the 4-year old down to give a hug to his parents in-law, more like parents.
As the Agrestes said their final goodbyes they then left the Dupain-Cheng Bakery.
The drive to the airport was filled with silence, not the uncomfortable kind though, more like appreciating the place they grew up in. As they drove by the bridge they happened to pass by Andre the ice cream man.
Andre passed a wink to the couple, the Agrestes. The duo that was most likely his hardest ice cream combination to get together.
"Well.. goodbye Paris." Marinette thought as she drifted off to sleep.
The airplane ride was pleasant. Emma, surprisingly, didn’t make much of a fuss. Marinette spent the duration of the plane ride either sleeping, or sketching. Adrien on the other hand spent it sleeping as well, but also thinking how he ended up this lucky with this family.
As they made it to the Gotham Airport, Adrien carried little Emma, while they looked for a certain butler.
"I see him, Adrien. He's at the blue sign, let's go." Marinette said tiredly, as the Agreste family passed through the busy crowds.
"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Agreste, I hope your flight was pleasant. The limo is over here." Alfred said, as he led them to the shining black limo.
'Why do all rich people have limos, a car would be just fine.' Marinette thought as they all went towards the limo.
"ADRIEN!! OMG IT'S ADRIEN!!" One fangirl screeched out as she jumped up and down, and pointed towards an exhausted Adrien Agreste.
"Really? I thought we left this back in my model days." Adrien said, as he quickly brought his family in the limo.
"Let's just hurry." Marinette said as she made her way in the car.
As the Agrestes made their way towards Wayne Manor to stay for the night, the drive was peaceful, though oddly surprising for Gotham.
-----------------------
Alfred held the door for them, and they made their way into the manor.
Marinette quickly made her way to the guest room to lay Emma down.
-----------------------
It was the middle of the night, everyone was asleep, (maybe not Tim) and Bruce's office still had the lights on.
Marinette quietly made her way to the doors, and knocked the door lightly, trying not to wake anyone up.
"Come in." Bruce wondered who was there at this hour.
As Marinette made her way in the office, she gave Bruce an awkward hug.
Though Bruce was caught off guard he still stiffly returned it.
"I just wanted to thank you for letting us in your house." Marinette said shyly, as she let go.
"..you're welcome." Bruce said, as he turned his direction to where Marinette was staring. 'Oh'
"..Is that a batarang..?" Marinette asked confusedly, as she studied the clearly bat-shaped object.
"Oh. My-" Marinette started, tired of this superhero business, as she paced back and forth. While Bruce on the other hand was wondering how he could've made that slip up."
"It's not what you think-, okay it is-" Bruce started, but gave up because it's too late for this.
"So.. that means you're Batman, Jason's Red Hood, Tim is Red Robin, and Damian is Robin." Marinette quickly said in one breath, but she probably meant to say that in her head.
"Wait- did I say that out loud." Marinette said, as she facepalmed, and suddenly found the floor quite interesting.
"I-" Bruce stammered, and pinched his nose, and tried to think why did all of his bio children have super detective skills.
"Well since this is awkward I think I'm gonna go. Byegoodnight~" Marinette said, as she sped her way to her room, and immediately tried to go to sleep.
As she launched herself in bed, her movement had woken up Adrien, thank God not Emma.
"Bug?" Adrien asked as he turned to her.
"..Yeah?" Marinette said guiltily.
"Why do I feel like something big happened?" Adrien said in a knowing tone.
"Because I accidentally revealedmyknowledgeofthewaynessecretidentities." Marinette said as she gave a sheepish grin and suddenly 'fell asleep'.
"Oh, Kwami." Adrien muttered, as he too fell back asleep.

Bruce entered his room that night wondering where he went wrong

The feeling of home Part 3: Video calls
“Hey Cass, have you seen… “ Dick froze, stopping mid-sentence at the sight in front of him.
“Oh My God! Hi! You must be Cass’s girlfriend!” Dick exclaims in excitement, causing the girl on the other end of the video call to giggle.
“Hello, I’m Cass’s girlfriend,” she began. “Sorry but I don’t have any more time to chat today. Maybe we can do a group video call later?”
“I’m sure all of us would love that!” Dick claimed with a grin.
“Je t'enverrai un texto plus tard mon amour” (I'll text you later my love), Cass’s girlfriend informs her lover with a smile.
Cass gave a bright smile and wave in return, a slight blush noticeable on her cheeks.
The second the call disconnected Dick let out a squeal.
“You two are so cute!” A grin clear on his features.
‘What did you need’ Cass asked in sign language, her blush still visible.
“Oh ya. Have you seen my Escrima Sticks? We have to patrol a bit and I can’t seem to find them. Any of them actually, including my spares.” Dick informs her as they start walking towards the cave.
‘Tim hid them as revenge for replacing his coffee with decaf’ Cass signs to him.
“Ugh. Of course, he did!” Dick groans in exasperation. “Thanks for the help, Cass! Can’t wait till we can officially meet your girlfriend!”
________________________
“Hey Alfred, can we have some popcorn? Something tells me this is gonna be fairly entertaining.” Jason claims as he sits down on the couch. He would go make the popcorn himself, but he was still banned from the kitchen.
“Of course Master Jason. Would anyone else like some refreshments or snacks before the call starts?” Alfred questioned.
The Waynes proceed to tell Alfred what food and drinks they wanted. Those who weren’t banned from the kitchen followed Alfred to help. There were very few Waynes still allowed in the kitchen, only Cass and Damian haven’t been banned, yet.
Once Cass, Damian, and Alfred had been in the kitchen for a bit, preparing the snack, Alfred turned his attention to Cass.
“There’s no reason to be so nervous, Miss Cassandra. I’m sure everyone will like your girlfriend.” Alfred spoke before focusing on preparing the popcorn.
Cass let out a slight whine. It was a mix between frustration, nervousness, and excitement.
“Tch. If this person was able to catch your attention and make you a smiling mess like Grayson with Kori, then I’m positive the rest of us will like her.” Damian states before walking out of the kitchen with a tray of snacks. Cass followed him out of the kitchen with her tray of snacks, Alfred not too far behind.
“Everyone ready?” Dick asked when everyone was settled into their usual spots.
Everyone gave some form of ‘yes we are ready’ Cass started the call.
…Calling...
A click was heard as the call screen was replaced with a person.
“Hello! It’s lovely to meet you all. I’m Marinette, Cass’s girlfriend.” Marinette informs them with a sweet smile.
“It’s nice to meet you as well Marinette. I’m Bruce Wayne, Cassandra’s adoptive father. This is my eldest Richerd, although he prefers to be called Dick. This is my third eldest Jason, my second youngest Tim, and my youngest Damian.” Bruce introduces.
When they were still planning the call on a day all of them would be free, Cass asked Bruce to introduce them to her girlfriend for her. All of the Waynes agreed to let themselves be introduced by Bruce since it made sense due to him being their father.
Marinette seemed to scan the room before nodding to herself. The acton seemed to make Cass let out a held-back laugh, confusing the Waynes.
Tim looked back and forth between the couple.
“What’s so funny?” He asked after not being able to figure it out.
“Hmm? Oh. Sorry, I’m used to Cass’s way of communicating. Pretty much, I just lined up who was who based on Cass’s description of you.” Marinette explains to Tim.
“Gasp. You talk about us!” Jason exclaims turning towards Cass.
Cass just gave him an eye roll for his antics.
“All good things, I hope,” Bruce says with a chuckle.
Marinette raised a brow in Cass’s direction, causing Cass to react by folding both of her lips inward and making a zip motion. Marinette had a smirk growing on her face while Cass had a glare that was slowly becoming more intense.
“Of course, all good stories.” Marinette states with a grin as Cass facepalmed.
“Stories? What kind of stories?” Bruce asked, looking in his daughter’s direction.
“Very entertaining stories if you must know, but shouldn’t you already know what the stories are about since you’re the ones who lived them?” Marinette asks, a grin still settled on her features.
“Renard faisant le chaos” (Fox making chaos), Cass huffs under her breath, causing Marinette to laugh.
“Nous faisons tous les deux le chaos. Non?” (We both make chaos. No?), Marinette states with a sharp smile that promised chaos, but with soft loving eyes.
Cass simply huffed and turned her head away. After a few seconds of silence, the couple started laughing, Cass not bothering to hold it back this time.
The Waynes didn’t seem to understand what just happened, even the ones who spoke French were confused. However, they didn’t mind the confusion, it was very rare for them to see Cass this happy. The Waynes all came to a silent agreement that they all liked Cass’s girlfriend and would be doing these family video calls more often.
The call continued late into the night, a few of the Waynes excusing themselves to ‘head to bed’.
After all, not all the bats could have the night off at the same time.
Tonight’s patrol consisted of Batman, Robin, and Red Hood since they had the easiest excuses to leave and go to bed.
Bruce had a meeting in the morning, Damian had school tomorrow, and Jason had a meeting with the W.E. security department. All of this was true, and technically Tim could have used the meeting excuse, but everyone knows Tim would never willingly go to sleep.
When Bruce, Jason, and Damian came back from patrol they were surprised with the rest of their family still being on the call.
Alfred made eye contact with them and shooed them off to bed.
“My Apologies, but I do believe we are now in the early morning hours. I believe everyone should at the very least, try and get some rest.” Alfred suggested.
Goodbyes and Goodnights were exchanged before the call ended.
While the Waynes moved towards their bedrooms, Alfred had a small smile playing on his lips.
‘The little guardian will surely be a good influence on them.’ Alfred thought before heading to bed himself.

Jasonette July Day 9: Pixie
Written by: The Maribat Pit  @jasonette-july-event
Prompt: Pixie
Rated: T
(By popular demand, a slight continuation of Game On @aespades, @certainmuffinbagelcalzone.)
A/n: Edits have been made because I noticed the paragraph errors AFTER posting this.
Marinette was really starting to miss the days of working with Chat Noir at that moment, and that was saying something.  “Bugaboo” and “My Lady” were starting to feel more tolerable when she wasn’t being called that every second of the day.  Being called “Pixie” regardless if she was Ladybug or Marinette, was really starting to get old, fast.  For reasons that she could not understand, that’s what Jason insisted on calling her.  Sure, she was a lot smaller compared to him, but that coupled with needing to hang back and let Red Hood and Arsenal deal out the heavier hits was starting to get on her nerves.  She was just as experienced as them, she had a mentor just like they did, and had been saving lives for just as long as they had.  Ever since she had joined them, she thought that she would be fighting alongside a team again.  Now she was either supporting them or using her sewing skills to add improvements to their suits.  She was in good hands, some might say hands that were a little too good.  All this frustrated her to no end because she liked Jason, she would have thought that someone who had been a vigilante from a young age would understand what it felt like to be constantly underestimated.
“Unbelievable,” she snapped one night as she came home from another mission.  She pulled off her pink flats and threw them across the room as she entered her apartment.  She didn’t even get the chance to use her Miraculous, she was effectively closely guarded bait on that last mission.  She slumped on the bed in frustration and Tikki hovered over to her, her antenna drooping in concern.  “Some days I want to wipe that smile off of that stupid face, just to prove I can.” Marinette grumbled into her pillow.  She didn’t hate Jason, she knew that there was some good in him.  Roy was the more optimistic and cheerful of the duo, like Jason, he had also been mentored by a more experienced hero.  Jason was a lot more reserved and cynical by comparison, though he wasn’t a complete Ice Prince like his brother Damian.
“Maybe it’s because they’ve been doing this for a little bit longer.” Tikki suggested, after Marinette complained about it for the umpteenth time.
“Batgirl and Black Bat are only a few years younger than me,” she reminded her, “and there’s no doubt that they could hold their own in a fight.  No one gives them stupid nicknames, just shortened versions of their real names out of costume.” Tikki awkwardly scratched the back of her head.  “I bet you that he barely remembers what my real name is.” Marinette was getting increasingly furious at the thought “it’s always ‘Pixie this’ and ‘Pixie that’. I know I’m shorter than him, but I have taken on giant robot dolls, literal monsters, and I once rode a dragon!” Marinette yelled.
Marinette throws a pillow at Tikki, only for it to phase through her. “What does he think I do as Ladybug? Create Christmas presents with my Lucky Charm?!”
At this very unfortunate moment Jason happened to return back to their apartment with Roy in tow. “What’s got you riled up, Pixie Pop?” Jason quipped after seeing the frustrated look on her face. This was the last straw for Marinette, “Stop calling me that! Does it please you to demean me? Does it bring you joy to fucking bully me day in and day out?” Jason and Roy take a step back from Marinette’s outburst. Marinette continues “I have kept Paris safe ever since I was 13, I didn’t have the World's Greatest Detective or a Robin Hood cosplayer helping me. It’s always you two off saving the day while I’m the distraction. Do I have to remind you that I’ve beaten Robin and Red Robin?”
“So have we, right Roy?” Jason says look backwards to Roy. Roy meanwhile was slowly walking backwards with his arms up in surrender.
“Don’t drag me into this please.” Roy pleaded.
Marinette continued her rant, “So why do you keep calling me Pixie Pop like I'm some pet or stuffed animal?” She storms up to Jason and pulls him down to her height by the collar.
Roy sensed the tension and wanted absolutely no part in making it worse, “You know what? I’m gonna go get us some shawarma.”
Jason looked over at Roy “Really, Roy?” A slight scowl made it clear he knew Roy was essentially leaving him to face Marinette’s wrath.
“All I know is that they are open at four in the morning and I’m hungry, so I’ll be right back.” Roy said, and he left the room.  Just as he thought Roy was out of earshot, Jason heard sprinting down the hallway.  Roy had abandoned him to face the burning blue fire in Marinette’s eyes.
Marinette let go of him, she didn’t need them, she had made that absolutely clear.
“I’m done,  I don’t expect you to understand what it’s like to be underestimated all of the time.” she muttered harshly, “to always be kept at arm's length, because no one trusts you to do anything right.”
Marinette had no idea just how deep her words cut him, and Jason couldn’t really blame her.  As far as she knew, compared to his brothers, he might as well just be ‘the one with the guns and leather jackets’.  He hadn’t really told her about what had happened all those years ago, he didn’t even like to think about it himself.  Roy was one of the few people who understood what he’d been through. It was true that both of them started out as sidekicks, maybe the red in their costumes helped them stand out from their mentor’s shadows.  Their time as young crime fighters had left their scars. They were blindsided when they found someone who had been a heroine since she was 13, and took to it with the same determination they had when they were younger, more innocent, more naïve.
As Marinette flitted around the room, gathering her things, every nerve in Jason’s body was screaming at him to stop her.   He reached out and grabbed her by the arm, trying not to think about just how small it felt around his hand.  “Look, I’m sorry,” he began. What could he say to her? That he knew exactly what that felt like? That the last thing they wanted was for her to end up like them?  That every hit they took in a fight was one that she wouldn’t have to, so that she wouldn’t turn out broken like they were?  The problem was she didn’t see them as broken, she saw them treating her like glass.  If she was put through the same ordeal, Jason had no idea what he would do.  If she shattered just like they did, then in a way, they would have failed her.  If she came out still whole, still brimming with light, then what did that say about them?
Marinette pulled her arm away, “I’ll show you, then you’ll be sorry” she told him bitterly.  With her backpack in hand and shoes on her feet, she pushed past him and walked out the door.
Jason remains staring at the open door, regretting how he had treated her. He grew fond of her during their time together as ‘Red Arse Bug’.  She had a cute face, cute voice and she wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. “Stupid, stupid” he says to himself, facepalm at each syllable. Even with the now hostile relationship with Marinette, he knew he had to follow her. He had to stop her from making the same mistakes he did, so that she would not become like him. He put on his helmet and left to search for clues as to where Marinette would go and what she would do.
Marinette wandered through Gotham city, unsure what to do now that she stormed out of the apartment she shared with Jason and Roy. She felt like everyone belittled her, Selena did, and now so did Jason. She needed to do something eye-catching, to prove to everyone that she didn’t need their help.
As she wanders past the Iceberg Lounge, she gets a spark of inspiration. If she could take down the Penguin single-handedly, nobody in Gotham would doubt her ever again. With unyielding determination she calls out “Spots On” and turns to Ladybug, ready to take on one of the cruelest crime lords in all of Gotham. Ladybug walks up to the front door and kicks it down, sending the door flying and knocking any unfortunate goons behind it. Penguin’s gang whipped out their guns, tire irons, pipes and anything that could count as a weapon and were now charging in to stop the intruder.
Marinette swings her yo-yo to wrap around one of the goon’s ankles, before swinging him around crashing him into several others. A guard points his rifle behind Ladybug, she spins around, sending her yo-yo towards the gun and pulling it from his hands. As the guards begin to group up together in an attempt to minimise the effectiveness of her yo-yo, Marinette looks up and begins to smirk. She flings her yo-yo upwards and hooks it onto a chandelier. She yanks it down, sending the chandelier crashing onto the unsuspecting guards.
Marinette dusts her hands and proceeds to walk through into the main hall. She proceeds to kick down that door too, she is then greeted by The Penguin surrounded by his gang. “I’m taking you down Cobblepot.” She shouts, swinging her yo-yo as if it was a lasso, preparing for a fight.
The Penguin stands up from the seat of his large chair. “What are all you idiots waiting for?” He shouts all around him. He points his umbrella at Ladybug, and begins shooting his umbrella gun. “Get her!” The penguin roars, at this cue every gangster charges at Ladybug.
Marinette gracefully dodges and weaves around Penguin’s army, knocking each one out one by one. Until only The Penguin remains, she wraps her yo-yo around his umbrella, easily disarming one of Gotham’s most wanted. She walks towards The Penguin, slowly unravelling her yo-yo in anticipation of tying him up and sending him to Arkham Asylum.
The Penguin takes out a little remote control from his suit pocket, “It's not over yet.” he snarls and pushes a button. At that moment the entire building shakes.
“Born on a Monday” a voice groaned, followed by another loud thud. “Christened on a Tuesday.” the same voice groaned. Then a giant hand shoots up from beneath the floor, “SOLOMON GRUNDY” roared the giant as it emerged from the floor.
Red Hood and Arsenal had been watching the fight from a careful distance outside the Iceberg Lounge.  “Well, she’s managed to take on Penguins goons just fine,” Arsenal observed through the small pair of binoculars,  “she’s certainly had plenty of time to get very creative with that yo-yo”.
Red Hood’s hand was still itching to reach for one of his pistols, ready to jump in at the first sign of trouble. “By the way, how was your shawarma?” he asked sarcastically.
Arsenal looked over at him, raising an eyebrow “Hey, I’m not the one who said the one thing that just made her angrier, you were on your own there.”
“Nice to know you had my back.” he grumbled.
“Oh I do in a fight, you just decided to be an ass and poke the angry girl with a stick.” Arsenal pointed out.
Their banter was interrupted by an earth shattering thud, following a loud groan “Born on a Monday.” At that moment their blood ran cold. Red Hood and Arsenal rushed towards the Iceberg Lounge. Both worried for Ladybug and aware of what comes after that dreadful nursery rhyme.
“What are you two doing here? I can handle this.” growled Ladybug as Red Hood and Arsenal arrived.
Before either Red Hood or Arsenal could answer, they were interrupted by Solomon Grundy smashing the ground where Ladybug was standing. Ladybug gracefully dodged the punch, grappling onto a ceiling lamp to swing towards Grundy with a kick.
The giant grabbed Ladybug while she was mid-air and threw her towards her partners. Red Hood catches her, holding her tightly as the two fly across the room. He shields her from the shock, taking the brunt of the impact as they crash into the wall.
Red Hood groans “You okay?” Ladybug looks up to see she was relatively unharmed, but Red Hood had taken the brunt of the throw. Concern visible on her face as she sees Red Hood’s damaged helmet, and the bruised and bloodied face beneath.
Their quiet moment together was interrupted by Arsenal's cries for help. Every arrow he had in his quiver wasn’t making a dent in Solomon Grundy. Ladybug decides to cast Lucky Charm in desperation, and swings her yo-yo up. The ladybugs converge to form...a polka-dotted stick of dynamite.
“Arsenal!” She called. “Tie this to the end of an arrow, Red Hood and I will keep it busy.” She tosses the dynamite to Arsenal and tells Red Hood to tie Grundy down.
Ladybug using her yo-yo grabs on to Solomon Grundy’s left arm while Red Hood uses his grappling hook to hold on to his right arm. Leaving Grundy exposed and immobile, giving Arsenal the opportunity for a clear unobstructed target.
Arsenal draws and aims the special Lucky Charm Explosive Arrow. The giant zombie growls “Arrow Boy no hurt Grundy.”
“Arrow Boy yes hurt Grundy” quipped Arsenal, before releasing the arrow causing a thunderous explosion into Solomon Grundy’s face. The giant slumps, Ladybug and Red Hood quickly release their hold and watch its body fall back into the hole in which it came from.
Solomon Grundy’s body lays motionless in the basement of the Iceberg Lounge as the three peer over the hole in the ground, “Let’s get outta here before the GCPD or worse, Batman arrive” Red Hood points to the front door, and the three of them leave the lounge to head back to their apartment.
As the three arrive home, they each find a nice comfortable spot to collapse onto. Jason claimed the sofa, slumped down Roy in the middle of the living room floor and Marinette sat at the dining table. “I vote for a week off.” groaned Roy.
“I second that motion” agreed Jason.
“I still have design work to do.” Marinette told them, not really looking at either of them at that moment.  She was torn between appreciating their help, and frustrated that she hadn’t been able to handle the situation herself like she thought.
“Still that was one hell of a fight, and hey, you still managed to take on a squad of goons by yourself.”  Roy said, “I’m so proud” he said dramatically pretending to wipe away a happy tear.
He nudged Jason in the leg, “um, yeah, good work” he said awkwardly, slightly lost in thought. Marinette smiled slightly, before turning her attention back to her little fairy friend perched on the table.
“So does this mean Red Arse Bug is back together?” Roy asked enthusiastically, Marinette wasn’t really paying attention.
The name still needed work, for one thing.  For once Marinette felt like her powers were being used in harmony with their abilities, but she wasn’t sure if it was a feeling that she should get used to.  Marinette could still vividly remember seeing Jason’s bruised and bloodied face beneath his helmet.  Jason stood up and walked over to the fridge, looking for ice to dull the swelling on his face.
“Not with that name,” Jason grumbled, not entirely sure if Marinette was willing to stay after their argument.  Someday, somehow, he would tell her the full story of what happened to him.  Right now, that was a whole Pandora’s Box that he just wasn’t prepared to open.  Nestled at the bottom of that box was hope, a hope that no one else would meet that same fate.
“...Lucky Shot?”  Marinette suggested as she carried Tikki over to the sofa and sat down.  Both Jason and Roy looked up, it made some sense, seeing as they both used projectiles and she had her lucky charms.  Jason tentatively made his way back to the sofa, ice pack in hand.
“Sounds better than ‘Red Arse Bug’.” Jason remarked, as he sat back down.
“Well, let’s see if our little adventure made the news” Roy said, as he reached for the TV remote.  Jason tuned out Vicki Vale’s voice as she reported on the fight that took place at the Iceberg Lounge.
As Roy slept at their feet, Jason knew if they were going to continue working together as a team, they couldn’t keep her in the dark any longer.
“Hey Marinette.” Jason speaks softly. Marinette's ears perk in surprise, hearing speak her name for the first time. “I’m sorry, for what I said and how we treated you. You’re right.” He gestures to the sleeping Roy on the floor, “Both of us started out as sidekicks, we both grew up in the shadows of Batman and Green Arrow. Both old men with impossibly high standards, everything we did was never enough.”   Marinette listened intently as she shuffled closer to him on the sofa.  “We’ve both been to hell and back, Marinette. Literally in my case.” he explained, Marinette glanced down at Tikki for a moment, as if silently asking if her magic was somehow involved in this.  “But always remember, we have each other’s backs, just like The Three Musketeers.” Jason told her, Marinette giggles at his literary reference.
“Roy’s Porthos, you’re Aramis, I guess that makes me D’Artagnan.” Marinette chimes. Jason loved to see that hopeful smile on her face.  What scared him the most was the idea that something or someone would try and take that away from her.  They couldn’t keep treating her like glass, and they couldn’t keep treating her like a sidekick if they wanted to keep her from making their mistakes.  They were all going to fight like hell to make sure this world didn’t break her the way it broke them.  Marinette leaned in close and rested her head on his shoulder.  He felt her calm even breathing, fanning his neck as she slept peacefully at his side.

CW: angst, meeting the family, references to the n-word, people sucking
I decided to go ahead and finish it when I got a sudden burst of creativity when I came home.
*
Nina snuggled in bed, a happy little sigh leaving her lips. Sidney looked at her, a fond smile on his face. It had been a month since they were back together and life was almost perfect. Well, they were 6-3-2, 14 points earned which was okay but not where Sidney wanted the team to be. It was still early in the season, it was mid-November so there was plenty of time to right the ship. He and the boys would fix it. Sidney sighed before attempting to try to go back to sleep. However, he heard the sound of a door opening and he sat up, pushing the covers down inadvertently.
Sidney racked his brain. It was Sunday, Marta, his housekeeper’s day off. Mario or Nathalie would have called before coming over. He had no idea who the hell it could be. “Fuck,” Sidney breathed. There were only two people who would do a surprise visit and one of them was a week earlier for the Moms trip.
Lightly brushing his fingers over Nina’s side, Sidney urged, “Pretty girl, wake up.”
It was roughly 8am so it wasn’t hard to get Nina, an early riser by nature to wake up. “Urgh, mawning,” Nina mumbled as she cracked open her eyes. Sidney looked anxious and agitated which made Nina focus.
Sidney opened his mouth, then closed it. If he was right, he was fucked and his pretty girl was probably going to run away screaming. He finally said, “Um, someone just opened the door and there are exactly five people other than me who have a key. There are two who’d do a surprise visit.”
Looking down, Nina was thankful that she had on one of Sidney’s shirts and shorts while sleeping. “Well, fuck, at least I’m not naked,” she said pointedly. Sidney had the grace to blush as Nina continued, “If it’s what you think it is, you need to get that under control,” pointing at his rather obvious morning wood. Sidney pulled the covers back over himself and Nina
Then a voice called out, “Morming, Sid!”
Sidney sighed in relief. It was Taylor, not his mom. Nina noticed it and arched an eyebrow. “Eh, it’s my sister, pretty girl.”
“Shit,” Nina fretted. This was going to be awkward, she didn’t even know if she wanted to meet his family but now, she was going to,have to. At least it was a sister.
The door creaked open and a blonde-haired head peeked in. “Boo,” Taylor said. Then her eyes perked when she saw who Sidney was with.
Nina groaned. Her hair was in a scarf, it was obvious she slept over and fuck, fuck, fuck. A devious smile spread on Taylor’s face. “Nice to see that you finally let a girlfriend sleep in your room, Sidney.”
“Shut the fuck up, Taylor,” Sidney yelled as his little sister giggled before closing the door.
Nina facepalmed. “That was fun. Fun fun fun.”
Rolling onto her front, Nina mumbled, “I’m not ready to meet your family.”
“I’ve already met yours,” Sidney reasoned.
“That was because Yanni was part of your Lil Penguins program. That was work related for you, doesn’t count.”
Trailing his fingers down Nina’s back, Sidney replied, “True but, it still counts. What are you doing next weekend?”
“I’m going to be in Philly for a wedding.”
Nina turned onto her left side, facing Sidney. Sidney sucked his bottom lip into his mouth before letting it go. “Don’t get any ideas.”
She slipped off the bed, pulling the scarf off her braids, letting them fall down her back. Rummaging through her clothes on the floor, Nina pulled out her bra. Pulling her shirt off, she put it on to the sound of Sidney’s groans. Nina rolled her eyes. “I’m stuck having to meet your sister because she decided to give you a surprise visit. I’m not meeting her without wearing a bra.”
“But you look so amazing without one,” Sidney replied.
Nina shook her head before leaving his bedroom. Making her way to the kitchen, Nina literally bumped into Taylor. “Oh my god, I’m so sorry,” Nina gasped.
“I’m okay,” Taylor reassured Nina, taking the moment to check out this girl that Sidney was now seeing. She wasn’t exactly what Taylor was expecting but one thing that Taylor liked about Nina was that she had kind eyes. Taylor had heard about her over the years, especially that Nina had kept rejecting Sidney. Her brother rarely heard the word no so that made Nina intriguing to her.
Taylor offered, “Have you had breakfast yet?”
“No, and I’m hungry.”
Opening the fridge, Taylor took out the ingredients to make omelets. Nina sat at the island, a pensive look on her face. “You know, I totally didn’t expect to meet you this way. This is awkward as fuck.”
“Eh, don’t feel bad, I should have given Sid a heads up,” Taylor replied. “Plus, I’ve heard about you over the years.”
“Oh really?”
Taylor laughed as she cracked eggs. “Sidney couldn’t shut up about you. First it was he met this nice girl at work. Then, it was that you kept telling him no and he was confused. Later, he was beating himself up because he managed to fuck up before he could even ask you out. I really enjoyed that, I liked that you kept not only telling him no but when he pissed you off, you didn’t forgive him right away. I love my brother but his ego needs to get cut down sometimes.”
“True, he has a huge ego. He needs to take himself less seriously,” Nina concurred. “But it’s probably impossible to get him to do that.”
Taylor shrugged, pursing her lips. “At least he means well,” Nina added.
Nodding, Taylor replied, “He does mean well, most of the time.”
“Already ganging up on me?”
They both laughed as Sidney entered the kitchen. “Why are you here, Taylor?”
“I went on a camping trip and I decided to be nosy and visit my big brother before heading home,” Taylor chirped. “The look on your face was worth it.”
“Hahaha. Should’ve called,” Sidney grumbled.
Taylor quipped, “Oh, did I ruin your morning sex plans? I’m so sorry.”
Nina snorted as she laughed. Sidney gave her hurt eyes and Nina blew him a kiss.
“Don’t worry Sid, I’m not staying long. Just enough to rest and then get back on the road,” Taylor said.
“You drove,” Nina asked. Sidney was now standing right behind her and she could feel his hands massaging her shoulders.
Taylor nodded as she flipped the first omelet. “You’re not what I expected, Nina. You’re way too pretty for a hockey player like my brother.”
Sidney wanted to kill his little sister as she continued to chirp him. Well, not only chirp him but ruin his planned lazy morning sex. But as he watched his sister and Nina interact playfully, Sidney could admit there was a slight good point. Taylor and Nina were hitting it off and Sidney knew that Nina would meet his family soon. This was a good sign.
**
However, after practice four days later, Sidney was wishing his sister had never stopped by. Nina had been incredibly busy all week and Sidney knew he wouldn’t see her until next week due to her trip out of town. He was feeling extra irritable and hearing his name over the tv didn’t help.
“So, two weeks ago, Sidney Crosby admitted that he was having relationship issues that were affecting him on the ice.”
Tanger went to change the channel on the tv in the lounge, muttering, “Fucking ESPN.”
“Shh, keep it on,” Sidney urged, crossing his arms over his chest. He wanted to see what kind of bullshit ESPN was saying now.
A couple of the guys stopped to check out the TV. Kevin Neghandi laughed as he responded, “Yeah, he admitted that after breaking a slump. Ever since, he’s been on a 2 point-per-game streak. But this really isn’t about him.”
“Huh,” said Geno, scratching his head.
Buccigross continued, “There was a picture of Crosby and his girlfriend posted on the internet, a nice picture. Someone posted it and made a derogatory statement about his girlfriend, Nina Jackson. This player is a player for Clemson.”
Neghandi laughed again. “Ms. Jackson has a younger brother named Jason Jackson. He was also the number 20 prospect, number 1, 5 star tight end. He also now plays for UNC.”
Sidney chuckled as he realized exactly where this was going. The guy on the tv continued, “Clemson and UNC had the rare Thursday night game last night. #1 Clemson went to the Tar Heels, ranked #22 and got spanked, 56-30. Jason Jackson had 10 catches, 200 yards receiving, and 3 TDs. His response in the postgame.”
The tv showed a clip of Jason talking to the media. A reporter asked, “What inspired you to have such a big game tonight.”
“Lowell decided he needed to talk about my sister on the gram so I had to put him in his place,” Jason drawled.
Sidney’s phone buzzed and it was a message from Nina. my brother is so dramatic 🙄
Nice to know he’ll always have your back, Sidney sent Nina.
**
Nina smiled happily as she looked at the Thai food on plate. She was so hungry and excited to see Jamila face to face in person for lunch. Her friend looked more vibrant than usual, as life was treating her good. They made small talk until Jamila said, “I heard something about you, that you aren’t single for the first time in forever.”
“Oh really?”
Jamila looked at her best friend. “You’re dating Mayo boy.”
“What?!?” Perplexed, Nina stared at Jamila while Jamila rolled her eyes.
“Sidney Crosby is like Mayo. Super white. Damn, my dating habits really did rub off on you. Welcome to being a basic bitch like me.”
It was Nina’s turn to roll her eyes. “Stop being so fucking dramatic, Jamila Brown.”
“I was an actress, I’m supposed to be dramatic. Tell Mayo boy if he ever breaks your heart, I’ll kill and cremate whatever’s left of him after your father and brother are finished with him.”
“Are you really gonna nickname him that?”
Jamila smirked at Nina and Nina sighed. Shrugging elegantly, Jamila replied, “I’m a part of Philly sports Twitter. I got lots of other names I could call him.
“Be a bigger bitch, Mila.”
“He gets a better nickname when he lets you fully run his pockets. And don’t give me that look, don’t be afraid of being called a gold digger. They are probably calling you worse names. Make Mayo boy run that card up when he takes you on baecation. Once that happens, I’ll upgrade his nickname.”
Nina sighed as she looked at the menu. Jamila reached out and put her hand out, covering Nina’s menu. “You know I’m just playing, right?”
“I don’t want to talk about it now, let’s talk about Toyin’s wedding instead,” Nina murmured.
It was Jamila’s turn to sigh. “I’m sorry, Nina. I’m sorry for being a bitch. I shouldn’t be taking out my bad mood on you. I hate men.”
“Not forgiven yet,” Nina snarked.
Jamila looked pensive as she said, “I like this guy but I don’t want to admit I like him. He’s like too perfect, too nice, well not that nice. He actually gives a fuck.”
“Let me guess, you’re scared and about to do something super stupid,” Nina dryly replied.
Jamila gave Nina a shocked look before she slumped in her chair. “I don’t want to,” she pouted.
Nina reasoned, “Then don’t. Just ride it out for once.”
“Easy for you to say,” Jamila replied.
Nina shrugged as her phone buzzed. It was a message from Sid, well really just a picture of him sweaty post-practice. Nina left him on read, she would get him back later for that. “Stop being stupid, and stop self-sabotaging.”
Jamila rolled her eyes as she ate her food. After swallowing, she arched an eyebrow. “Mayo boy sent you a message?”
“Yeah, but I’m focusing on you. I’ll see him next week… and his parents.”
“This is going fast,” Jamila commented.
Nina bit her lip before saying, “I guess he had to wait eighty-four years, I mean five years, so he’s going to take advantage while they are in town.”
“Interesting.”
Nina pointed out, “At least I’m giving my relationships a chance, unlike you.”
“Fuck you.”
Jamila gave Nina an exaggerated nasty look as Nina quipped, “I’m strictly dickly, bitch.”
The conversation switched to safer topics. However, throughout the wedding weekend, Nina had the thought in the back of her mind that maybe things were going a bit too fast.
**
“Well, Taylor says she likes her. I checked out her instagram account and she doesn’t even mention you. Lots of nice vacation pictures though.”
Sidney looked at his mom from across the table. Trina had a pensive look on her face. Troy raised his eyebrows before leaning back in his chair.
Sidney reasoned, “I want you two to meet her. Give her a chance. Nina is amazing, I’m lucky that she even likes me.”
“Why wouldn’t she like you, you’re Sidney Crosby,” Trina scoffed.
Sidney shrugged. “Nina’s a PhD student and everything. It hasn’t been easy for her either.”
“Interesting,” Trina said.
Nina herself was feeling extra nervous. She wasn’t sure if she was ready to meet Sidney’s parents, especially after having to turn in a huge paper and part of her thesis to her advisor. But, as she shook her head and smoothed down her shirt, they were in town and she was going to try to make her best impression.
Midway through dinner, Nina began to wish she was somewhere else on this Friday night. While Troy, Sidney’s dad, seemed nice, it felt like Trina was judging every single thing she did. Every reply Trina made to Nina’s questions was in a dry voice, as if it was boring her. Nina felt a bit discouraged. Sidney obviously loved his parents but it felt like his mother didn’t like her.
On the other hand, Trina felt like Nina was looking down on them. It seemed like she was mentioning her PhD program, her thesis, like she was too smart for them and her boy. Trina sipped her water as there was a pause. She didn’t know about this girl but at least, every time she looked at Sidney, Trina could see the stars and hearts in her eyes.
Nina looked at Sidney, her palms sweating. She didn’t know what to say as she looked down at her plate. Her appetite was gone. Sidney, himself, didn’t really notice anything as he answered his father’s questions about the beginning of the season. Then Troy turned to Nina.
“So what do you plan to do now that you’re with Sidney,” Troy casually asked.
Nina replied, “I have about two more years left before I finish earning my PhD. I plan to continue to work and I may teach a class or two.”
“You still plan to work,” Trina asked.
Nina nodded. “Yes. I love what I do and I’m not wasting my degrees.”
“Why do you want to work?”
Nina could tell that Trina intended that question to be light but Nina could still feel the claws. She was tired of this passive-aggressive bullshit and ready to curse her out. But Nina couldn’t so she measured her words carefully. “I did four years of undergrad, three years of school for my doctors in physical therapy, and I will do four more years for my doctorate. Why would I stop working after earning my degrees?”
Trina paused; she had expected some trite, suck-up answer. But it seemed like Nina was serious. “I would think that if you were with my son, you’d rather not work.”
“I’m not built to be a housewife.” Nina laughed. “I love what I do and if I’m expected to stop for Sidney, then maybe I need to reevaluate some things.”
Trina felt like she lost control of this conversation. All she wanted was to see what kind of user her boy’s dream girl was. Now, she had the feeling that her son was going to get dumped and it was going to be her fault.
Sidney laughed. “I don’t expect you to be a housewife. You would be so bored if you were.”
Nina flashed Sidney a quick grin before adding, “Nathalie has let me know the responsibilities though. I’ve done lots of volunteer and charity work over the years so that isn’t new at all. I’m excited about the toy drive, I remember when my parents just got out of the army and cash was tight. I got my favorite doll as a kid from a toy drive.”
“That’s nice,” Trina said. Maybe this Nina girl wasn’t completely stuck up, she thought as the night continued. After a couple of hours, Nina said her goodbyes. It was getting late and she was spending the morning taking her little sister to volleyball practice. After she left, Trina let out a sigh as Sidney turned to her.
“You have to lay off on Nina, Mom.”
Trina turned to look at her son. Sidney was giving her his most serious look and she sighed.
“I like her but I don’t know if she’s the one for you, Sid. It seems like she’s one step from leaving you,” Trina said. “I don’t see her sticking with you if things go bad.”
“Just because she plans to work?”
Sidney gave his mother an assessing look. He knew she meant well but this wasn’t for her to decide. “This isn’t your problem.”
“Fine, I like that she has her own life. She’s not obsessed with you and she plans to be her own person,” Trina conceded. “But she’s different.”
He knew this was going to be hard, asking his mom to back off but Sidney knew he had to do it. Nina hadn’t said anything last night but Sidney could sense that she was tired of how his mother was acting. Sidney also knew that if Nina decided to cut ties, it would be completely over. Sidney started, “Compared to Nina, I’m a dumb hockey player. But what I have with her, I’ve never found with anyone else. If you have a problem with that, that’s you. But be civil to Nina.”
“Really, Sidney Patrick Crosby,” Trina said, incredulous. But the look on her son’s face was something she had never seen before. Even though she didn’t believe her son would really pick any woman over her, a voice at the back of her mind told her that if Sidney ever did, this would be the woman he’d pick over her.
**
It was Saturday night and Nina pasted another smile on her face. If Trina got snide again, Nina didn’t know if she could be nice about it. But at least they were in public. As they sat down for dinner, a couple of guys came up. Sidney and his family had perfect PR smiles but the guys stopped in front of Nina.
“Hey, aren’t you Jason Jackson’s sister?”
Nina grinned. “Yes.”
“Why did he have to have such a great game against Pitt today? He killed them,” one of the guys said.
Nina shrugged. “Pitt should play better defense.”
After the guys left, Troy asked, “your brother plays college football?”
“Yup. He was the top prospect in Pennsylvania last season. Games on tv and everything.”
“I didn’t know that,” Sidney murmured.
Nina giggled as she replied, “All you do is eat, sleep, and breathe hockey.”
Sidney blushed as everyone laughed at that statement. However, through the night, more people came by the table to give Nina props for her brother’s monster game than to try to get a glimpse of Sidney. Jason had 184 yards receiving and 2 TDs for UNC today and there was already buzz about Jason being on the fast track to the NFL. During a lull, Trina stated, “You must get asked about your brother a lot.”
“I’m used to it. Once ESPN comes to your brother’s games when he was a sophomore in high school, you have to get used to it,” Nina said with a shrug. “I’m old enough that it really doesn’t bother me.”
“How does your brother deal with it,” Sidney asked, curious as he remembered some of his early experiences with fame.
Nina replied, “College football is a different beast than the pros. So, he’s on scholarship and his days are pretty much regimented with meetings, practice, classes, more meetings, video study. I ran track when I was in undergrad so my experience was slightly similar. Main difference is that Jase gets paid for his likeness in video games now and a percentage of any jersey sales with his name and number.”
“You ran track,” Troy asked. Unlike his wife, he felt a bit more open towards Nina. It was obvious that she didn’t need Sidney for anything and Troy could see that his son was able to relax in a way with Nina that he hadn’t been able to relax with a woman before.
“I had a partial scholarship. I ran the 4x100 relay and the 100 meters. I didn’t have the athletic ability to race for a living but I did decent,” Nina stated, feeling a bit shy. It had been a long time since she even talked about her track career. “I was state champ my senior year and my team won silver at the Penn Relays my sophomore and junior years of college. Now, I just run to stay in shape.”
“Wow,” Sidney said, impressed. “Sounds like you loved it though.”
Nina flashed Sidney a grin. “I did, I love running. What most people forget is that you can’t just run for health, you have to run and do strength training and yoga or Pilates.”
“Have you been to any of your brother’s games,” Troy asked. “Seems like they are doing well.”
Nina replied, “We went to the season opener. I will never go to North Carolina in August ever again if I can help it. I’m going to their game next weekend at Virginia Tech. We’ll probably go to the bowl game since my little sister will be off school that week.”
“Seems like you stay busy,” Trina mused.
Nina couldn’t help a little glare as she managed to say without malice, “I plan my calendar in advance.”
Trina said, “That sounds good. You have a life outside of everything.”
“And I will continue to have a life outside of everything,” Nina said with a syrup-sweet smile.
**
Nina quietly washed her hands, glancing up to the mirror. Trina was looking down on her hands as she washed hers. Tentatively, Nina asked, “Are you having a good time on this trip?”
“I enjoyed the Moms’ trip,” Trina replied.
Nina looked down at her hands as she dried them. This was so awkward and she wanted to cry.
“Sidney Crosby is here, and so are his parents,” somebody exclaimed just outside the ladies bathroom. Trina and Nina both shared a look until another person said, “And his n-word girlfriend is here with them too.”
Nina opened her mouth but Trina put up a finger. The second person continued, “His mom doesn't look too happy with that black girl. Maybe you could get a chance, finally.”
The door opener and the two women came in, laughing. The laughter stopped when those women saw Nina and Trina.
“You don’t have to worry about getting a chance with my son because there’s no way I’d let him be with someone like you when he’s with a lady like Nina,” Trina stated.
The two women shared a look but Trina stared them down until they left. Nina let out a breath she didn’t know she was holding. “No wonder my son is always saying that it hasn’t been easy for you,” Trina offered. “Don’t worry, I’ll make sure they get kicked out.”
Nina sniffled as she said, “That’s the first time I’ve heard it in person. It’s usually nasty messages online. I really, really hate it. But I guess I’m going to be stuck with this for the rest of my life.”
Impulsively, Trina reached out and grabbed Nina’s hand. “From the way that my son looks at you, nasty women like those will just have to be angry forever.”
Nina giggled as they shared a look. It felt like there was a truce and she was going to take it. After Trina talked to the manager and got those women booted, Nina definitely felt like there was definitely a truce.
**
“Don’t take anything seriously. If they don’t like you, they’ll say absolutely nothing to you. If they make jokes, they like you.”
Two weeks after meeting Sid’s family, it was his turn to meet Nina’s family. The team was home for American Thanksgiving and they didn’t have a game until Friday evening this year. So Sidney was going with Nina to meet her extended family. He was feeling extra nervous and desperate to make a good impression.
Sidney grimaced as Nina giggled. “Plus, it’s Aryanna’s birthday so they won’t be too mean. I think.”
“Anything else I need to worry about,” Sidney asked.
Nina reached out over the console and touched Sidney’s hand. “Relax, it’s not a game. You can’t lose.”
“But, I want them-”
Cutting Sidney off, Nina said, “I know, you want them to like you. So be the dork that you are instead of faking like you aren’t a dork.”
Sidney felt a bit insulted but Nina gave him a dazzling smile. “I like it when you’re being dorky, anyway.”
**
Sidney tried hard to follow Nina’s advice. There were so many people that he couldn’t keep them all straight so he focused on making sure he remembered the names of the older people in Nina’s family. There was Mawmaw, the family matriarch, Tracey and Vernon, Nina’s parents, Aunt Tasha who baked the sweet potato pie that he was having his third slice of, Aunt Dee, Uncle Tony, and Uncle Bashir. All of the cousins kinda blurred together but Sidney figured he’d learn their names quickly.
Overall, he felt like everything was going well. Sidney answered everyone’s questions and he guessed his answers were good since one of Nina’s older cousins told him his new nickname was White Boy. Nina had snickered while some of the younger ones giggled. Right now, Sidney was talking to Aunt Tasha. “What would it take to get you to bake me a pie of my own,” Sidney asked.
Tasha laughed while Tracey smirked. Tracey interjected, “Oh no, Tasha gonna be bragging about this forever. ‘Guess who came to Thanksgiving and loved my sweet potato pie? Sidney Crosby loved my sweet potato pie.’ She will never shut up!”
“Don’t be mad that you can’t bake a pie as good as me, Tracey,” Tasha chided, laughing. “Nina makes a better pie than both of us but that girl don’t wanna cook.”
Tracey smirked when she saw the look on Sidney’s face. “Oh no, Tash, now this boy gonna be begging my daughter to make him a pie.”
Everyone laughed as Nina was in a different room. Mawmaw chided, “I’m happy that one of my family don’t got to be in the kitchen like that. I wish I could’ve been the same at her age.”
Sidney decided to scroll his phone as the older women began to argue. Then he felt someone tap his shoulder.
“White boy, you wanna play spades?”
Sidney looked at this cousin of Nina. He was sitting at a table with Vernon, one of her aunts, and another cousin. “No,” he replied, shaking his head.
The cousin got a devious grin on his face. “It’s easy, you should play for Shantara, she can’t play for shit.”
Sidney’s competitive instinct told him it was a bad idea. And from the way Vernon was eyeing him, Sidney knew he was right for shaking his head. “Nope. I’ll learn by watching.”
“Nina’s white boy smart,” Aunt Tasha hollered. “You play spades and renege, boy, someone about to go for those knees.”
“Stop torturing, Sid, Deonte,” Nina scolded as she sat in Sidney’s lap. “At least wait til the second visit before hazing him over spades.”
“I like this boy, Nini. Keep him, he’s betta than that last boy you brought here, bless his heart. Didn’t know how to talk to people,” Mawmaw advised.
Nina wanted to die as the rest of her family snickered. Holidays: the time of the year where your greatest fuckups get rehashed for shits and giggles.
Nafis snorted. “What’s his name... it wasn’t that Ron boy, was it? Naw, it was James’s old friend, Jordan. We all knew he wasn’t shit, I mean, nothing, when he made Tommy mad.”
Nina winced as remembered that. Tommy was one of the sweetest guys and hard to rile up, but anyone who could make cousin Tommy mad was a douchebag.
“Her pets like him. Tess curls in his lap and Steely lets him pet him,” Vernon said.
Everyone stared at Sidney, eyes wide. Stuttering, Aunt Tasha said, “T-t-that cat and d-dog hate every damn body other than Nini and her family. I be damned.”
Mawmaw laughed.
The rest of the dinner went without incident. But at a quiet moment, Vernon pulled Sidney from the group to a quiet spot in the yard. It was late November in Western Pennsylvania so no one else was there.
Vernon Jackson had seen more of his fair share of crap in his life. Growing up in Ward 8 of D.C., Vernon had dodged dealers, hustlers, stick-up kids, etc. to survive. His grades weren’t great so Vernon went into the army to ensure that he escaped. Through being deployed in the Gulf War then to Mogadishu, Vernon had done his best to make sure that all his children had more than he did growing up.
Now, his sweettart, his eldest, his sweet girl, Nina was grown. She had done more than he and Tracey combined. But looking at the man he was sure his daughter was in love with, Vernon began to wonder if he made a mistake.
Oh, it was obvious that Sidney Crosby was in love with his daughter. But the feelings of love could fade and given his history, Vernon couldn’t trust that Crosby would do the right thing.
So as a loving father, Vernon pulled Sidney to the side. “I just wanted to ask you something important before I give my blessing to this.”
“Yes, sir,” Sidney responded.
“You know your children will be considered Black?”
Vernon watched Sidney’s face after asking that question. Lust and infatuation was nice but this was his little girl. The last thing he wanted was his daughter hurt because she fell for someone not just clueless but maliciously clueless about race.
Sidney quietly replied, “I know. People will see them as Black and will think the worst of them first.”
Not bad, Vernon thought. He expected a colorblind response.
Then he heard Nina call out, “Dad? Sid? We are about to cut the cake!”
Vernon and Sid both grimaced but for different reasons. Vernon because he couldn’t really have cake because of his diabetes, Sid because cake wasn’t on his meal plan. Vernon told Sidney, “before you start making plans for rings, you need to start thinking about how you are going to start speaking up about race. Think about that.”
**
Sidney kept Vernon’s words in his mind through the week. Trina had told him what happened in the bathroom that night but Nina told him that his mom had handled it for her. But as he waited for Nina to open her door, Sidney couldn’t help but think what he could do to avoid situations like that from happening for Nina. But words failed as Nina opened the door and gave him a shy smile.
“Hi pretty girl,” Sidney drawled as he walked in, closing the door. He hung up his coat on her coat rack before sitting on Nina’s couch.
“I missed you daddy”
“Missed you, pretty girl. Did you have fun?”
Nina straddled Sid’s thigh and replied, “it was a good time even though UNC lost. The VT campus is beautiful. How was the road trip?”
Sid laughed as Nina played with his hair. “It went well but Geno got hurt. He’ll be out for two weeks.”
“That sucks.”
Sidney hummed his assent as he wrapped an arm around Nina’s waist. He missed his pretty girl and it seemed like she missed him too. They sat there together for several quiet moments before Nina whispered, “I really missed you, daddy. It’s been too long.”
Sidney gave Nina a slow smile as she began to grind on his thigh. He felt the same way as he kissed Nina, soft and slow. Then as they broke apart, the sensual haze on Nina’s face turned into horror.  “God damn it,” she muttered.
Sidney frantically asked, “What’s wrong, baby?”
“I just felt my period show up, three days early,” Nina said, rubbing her temples. Her period was cock-blocking her after a couple weeks of no dick and she wanted to die. “I just felt cramps and as much as I’d like to slide to my knees and suck you off, it won’t happen tonight.”
Nina groaned as she closed her eyes, head down. Sidney just started to laugh.
“Cmon, pretty girl. Let’s just watch movies tonight.”
“Movies sound good,” Nina replied, “I just refuse to watch Friends, ever.”
Sidney giggle-honked as Nina moved from straddling his thigh to curling into his lap.

Annabeth discovers she loves baking
The bad news: she’s really bad at it.
But nobody dares tell her.
The thing is everyone’s so used to Annabeth being really good at everything:
She trashes Percy, Leo and Jason at video games.
She’s been giving Piper a run for her money on their karaoke nights, and now there’s debate on who the best singer is.
Hazel’s starting to regret giving Annabeth horseback riding lessons, cause she’s getting scarily good.
And she’s even taught herself Chinese, to the point where she’s speaking it better than Frank.
So, when she starts getting into baking, all her friends are thinking, looks like here’s another thing Annabeth is a badass at. On the plus side, there’ll be free cookies right?
Wrong.
There are free cookies. But as it turns out, Annabeth is really awful at baking.
It started when Percy’s parents were away for the weekend on Sally’s book tour, they let Annabeth stay over so Percy wasn’t alone.
And Annabeth just went into a frenzy. Making batch after batch of burnt cookies, feeding them all to Percy.
Except he didn’t dare tell her how bad they were, he just kept swallowing as many as he could. And she would just keep making more.
The thing is Annabeth was completely oblivious, she just loved watching Percy eat for some reason. And she would smile and ask him, “Do you like it?”
And poor Percy’s just forcing mouthful after mouthful down his throat and nodding enthusiastically. He figured she’d get better over time.
Well, the seven demigods had a reunion at Percy’s place a couple months later.
Annabeth’s decided to bake a cake and some cookies as well. But by that point, each of them had already experienced Annabeth’s baking before, so they knew it wasn’t going to end well
Frank and Hazel are determined to avoid the inevitable, and they actually bring a cake they bought, to the apartment.
But when Annabeth finds out, she just says “I reckon we could finish two cakes, besides mine’s almost done!”
Upon hearing that Leo just closes his eyes and starts to groan, but Piper slaps the back of his head and tells him to not be rude.
She hates it as well though. But she figures somebody’s gonna let it slip sooner or later.
Anyway as the night goes on, Annabeth just brings out trays and trays of cookies.
And Jason can’t help but ask why she made so many. “I swear it’s not humanly possible for someone to eat this many cookies.”
He’s lying though. It is possible. If the cookies were good. It just wasn’t possible for someone to eat that many of Annabeth’s cookies.
She doesn’t know that. She just laughs cause she explains how Percy really loves them and how he can’t stop eating them. She was scared there wouldn’t be enough, so that’s why she made a ton of them just to be safe.
She goes back into the kitchen to get more. Everyone just stops chewing and gives Percy dirty looks. They’ve pretty much had enough at this point. It’s literally been months of burnt, horrible cookies, forced smiles and painful chewing.
And that’s how the evening goes, whenever Annabeth gets up to leave. Everyone is just begging for Percy to end it, once and for all.
Once the coast is clear, Piper and Frank spit out mouthfuls of cookie into the bin. Hazel and Leo just stare at the son of Poseidon and shake their heads.
“How could you man?” Jason’s just pleading with his bro, “Why haven’t you told her? Whyyy?”
And Percy’s basically given up at this point. He just can’t do that to her, he can’t tell her it’s bad.
It’s gone on too long, and they’re all in too deep he explains, they’re just gonna have to wait until Annabeth gets better.
And Piper’s mouth just hangs open. She’s in complete, utter disbelief. “Percy, honey, are you insane?!!?!”
“It’s been months man,” Leo’s chiming in now too. “She’s getting worse!”
“I’m pretty sure the last one I ate had a blonde curl in it.” Frank’s almost in tears and he’s begging on his knees at this point. “Please Percy, you have to tell her.”
“And tell her tonight Percy,” Hazel orders. “After we’re gone.”
“Why me?” Percy complains. “Cant someone else tell her?”
They all facepalm when Percy says he can’t because he’s told her so many times he loves her cookies, he’s pretty sure he doesn’t even hate them anymore at this point
“Why would you do that Percy? why?” Jason picks a couple cookies from the tray, checks to see if Annabeth is in view- she isn’t, and he tosses them in the bin.
Leo clicks his tongue. “It’s time to own up man.”
Percy looks like he wants to cry, he just shakes his head saying he can’t do it.
But by then, Piper just wants all the pain to end, and she’s blatantly pouring charmspeak into her words. Telling Percy, “Gotta tell her Perce, it’s better she finds out from you than someone else. And it’s better you be honest than have us keep lying about it.”
“Lying about what?”
Annabeth’s frowning, staring at each of them. They were clearly talking about her.
Everyone’s gone silent. Nobody dares meet her eyes. Even though she’s wearing an apron with a cartoon on it, and she’s got ridiculous rainbow mittens on, Annabeth is still so very scary when she’s mad.
“Lying about what?” She demands. “What’s wrong?”
Nobody replies. Frank quickly excused himself to the toilet. Jason and Piper suddenly found a real interest in the design of the coffee table. Hazel’s nervously playing with her hair, staring at the wall. Leo starts fidgeting with the springs in his pocket. And Percy’s just staring at the floor, he figured he could probably list hundreds of monsters he’d rather fight right now to avoid being here.
“Hello, anyone?” Annabeth’s practically got steam coming out her ears at this point. “I know you can all hear me!”
Piper looks up, makes eye contact with Percy, who’s silently pleading with her to not do this, but she turns away and looks at Annabeth. “You should ask your boyfriend.”
Annabeth cocks an eyebrow, staring at him expectantly. “Well?”
Percy’s mind has gone blank. He can’t think of anything to say. Other than the truth. Piper’s charmspeak is still echoing in his ears, and it’s taking literally all his strength not to do what she says.
He can’t take it anymore though. He opens his mouth and starts saying, “Well, we all kinda think-”
“We?” Leo’s shaking his head. “Don’t speak for me man.”
Jason feigns annoyance. “Yeah Perce, it’s what you think.”
Percy stares back at them. Are they being for real? But everyones face is just telling him, hey, you got us into this mess, now you gotta fix it.
So what can he do? He clears his throat, he puts on his bravest face. “Annabeth, I have a confessions to make.”
Annabeth has got her hands on her hips. “Mhmmm.”
“I think the-”
Ring!
He’s cut off by the doorbell. Someone’s knocking impatiently. And Percy is the most relieved man in the world at this point.
Frank goes to open it. And it’s Nico.
“Oh hey Nico,” He starts saying. “What’s up? Do you wanna come in?”
Nico pushes past him and walks straight into the living room. Everyone stares at him.
“What’s up man?” Jason asks.
Hazel goes for a hug but he signals for her to stop. Instead he turns to Annabeth.
“You gave me a box of cookies yesterday.” Nico says. “And I tried one.”
“Oh yeah!” Annabeth grins. “Did you like them?”
Nico stares at her, he can’t tell if she’s joking.
“No.” He says.
“Oh,” Annabeth pouts. “I didn’t know that, everyone’s been telling me they’re great.”
Then Nico narrows his eyes, as he looks at all of them - Jason, Piper, Leo, Frank, Hazel, and Percy, all sat on the sofas, collectively holding their breath.
“Cowards.”
He spits out the word, staring down each and every one of them, before disappearing into the shadows.
And that’s how it’s done folks.
This is so long, but I just couldn’t stop writing hahaha, Nico’s a badass though

Batboys with a Short S/O
Dick:
Such a cheeky bastard when it comes to your height
“Dick help me with this!” And you’re just bouncing to get the object from the top of the fridge.
“Nah I prefer to enjoy the view.”
He’s not the only one who enjoys the view.
Before the two of you were dating, you would sometimes stare at his bubble butt which he’ll feel like someone was staring, turn around, and then you would just avert your eyes.
You never get caught.
He’s punny too
When people mention your height he just gasps and...
“She’s not short! She’s just fun-sized.”
Don’t get me started with stores.
If he’s paying for the groceries and you’re next to him, he’ll just look down into his wallet and be like-
“I believe we’re $3 short.”
Oh how much you wanted to smack him for embarrassing you like that
Forehead Kisses
He also loves to pick you up.
Throws you over his shoulder, places you on his shoulders in crowds, and places you on his lap at home.
At the end of the day, unlike his brothers, he’ll help you up the shelf.
But on patrol, he would check up on you to see if you’re safe on your nightly trip to the store.
If someone is going to try something, he tends to handle the situation by snatching the offender in silence so you don’t have to worry about anything.
Jason:
Type level 1 asshole
When you’re struggling for something on the shelf
-remember Jason is the tallest out of his brothers-
He would take that object...
“Aw thanks Jay-”
And place it a shelf higher.
“-Oh Screw you!”
He likes to see you mad
Oh I’m sorry
He likes to see you...
FIESTY
Like Dick, he throws you over his shoulder
Cuddling and fitting in one bed is never a problem
Hehe
You and Jason winning against his brothers in the game Chicken Fight
Make fun of him when he’s hitting his head against the door frame when he’s entering a room.
Him adoring you when you’re in his jackets or hoodies.
His clothes + your tiny physique = absolute perfection to him.
Best ways to mess around with you is by smacking your ass then run off as you chase after him with your short legs.
Like Dick, he checks on you during his patrol.
But if he isn’t there, he knows you can handle the situation.
I mean, he trained you so hard that you could actually flip him and catch him off guard when he’s not going easy on you.
But if something bad happens, like a villain decides to kidnap you and you can’t take them, then you click an alert on your phone that’ll not only notify Jason but also the Batfamily that you’re in deep doo doo.
Let’s just say, you’re in for a show.
You being more worried about the villain’s well being than your own because knowing your boyfriend…it’s not going to end pretty.
Jason will get very, I mean very angry and he won’t hold back to the smartass who decides to take his loved ones.
He might as well leave a message for the other villains....
Tim:
Aw you’re so adorable
but he’s SUCH
TEASE
Like when you both were ordering some food
“And what would the lady like?” The cashier asked.
“A small fry.” You facepalmed.
“Ok what about dessert-”
“-Strawberry shortcake.”
“TIM.”
When you’re helping Alfred cook meals, Timbo just pops in, takes a cookie, and stare at you.
“Do you want a stool hon?”
You throwing your wooden stick at the laughing boy
EVEN when you’re giving him a kiss he had the AUDACITY to even-
“Do you need a ladder?”
You pushing him and walking away all angry while he rushes to your side to apologize while chuckling.
He sometimes leans on you and make you an arm rest but you just elbow his dumbass to stop.
Gives you piggyback rides
Stays close to you in crowds.
When he loses you, he’ll always find you since he’s one hell of a detective.
But if you’re ever kidnapped, he’ll get a slight panic attack but always find you.
The funny thing is that he doesn’t give a shit when cornering the crook that decides to lay a finger on your hair.
He also trains you and gives you amazing spy gadgets for self defense.
You used to have peppers pray but now you got a penny in your pocket that you take out, click, and ta-dah! A bo-staff that comes with optional electricity currents.
Damian:
When you both were younger, you were taller than him by a mere 3 inches.
But believe me when I say this
When he is at the age of when his growth spurt ignites
He starts to make fun of your height.
“Oh I didn’t see you there L/n.”
“I was right in front of you, you troll.”
“Oh is this the last Caprisun you were trying to get from the self?”
“Yeah, can you give it to me, ple-”
“Finder’s keepers.”
But once he becomes 19 or so...he’s huge.
Taller than Jason and his dad.
Someone help your poor soul that you only grew a couple more inches while your significant other is tall as a mf mountain.
For arguments, even when you're right, you would shiver a little from him hoovering over you.
But don’t worry, he backs down when you’re right...sometimes...
Does he still make fun of your height?
Ofc!
It runs in the family, he’ll say something about your height here and there. but not as often as he did in the past.
Observe:
“Beloved.”
“Hm?”
“I didn’t know you could stoop so low for pickpocketing that dwarf back there.”
“What? I didn’t pickpocket-Ooooh...You think you’re so funny.”
He really loves you but he doesn’t like to do PDA.
The sole reason why doesn’t do it often is because you pull him down to your level.
If that ever happens he would glare at everyone around the perimeter to mind their own business.
When you hug him you can hear his heartbeat.
People are so confused of how you, a bright smol bean, is dating a tall, cold-hearted, and stoic man.
But if they are very curious for the answer, they prefer to ask you.
When you and Dami are both are outside on a sunny day, his shadow is your shade. You would tease him about that and he just walks faster so that you would suffer with him.
Like his brothers, he trained you to self defend and gave you emergency devices that you can activate if ever in tough situation.
But he still worries about you, he checks up on you from time to time.
If anyone dares to bring harm to you, he’s going to pull a Batman move.
Like if you’re walking back to your car and someone decides to hurt you or make a wrong move then Damian will legit dive down, grab the person in silence, and pull them back up to the roof for a “friendly” interrogation or leave them to hang upside down while the police finds them.
You getting kidnapped is pretty rare.
Considering the fact that he scares the hell out of Gotham(more than his dad),he hides any tracks of you interacting with him as batman, and most of the time you’re in the Manor.

Chapter 16: After Remembrance
"So let me see if I got it…" Janna said crossing her legs on Marco's bed, he tried not to get annoyed on her dirty sneakers on his sheets given he was asking a favor to her "You want me to perform some kind of witchery-"
"Enchantment." Marco corrected.
"Whatever, you want me to try to make magic in a world that has become void of it to recover your girl?"
Marco shifted on his computer chair replying with an awkward "Yes?"
His childhood friend frowned a bit in deep thought, "Don't get me wrong Marco, but how in the hell am I supposed to do that?!" resting a bit back on his bed she continued "you said yourself that when she left it also erased not only her existence but every trace of magic here, including my own magic as you say. How would I be able to use magic if there's none around or in me?"
"You see, here is the catch. I don't think you're completely void of it."
Janna exchanged looks with his dog before both of them looked back at him as if they were reconsidering the option of calling the hospital to take him in.
"OK, let me explain." He took a breath, "When Star had come to this dimension, we had no idea that magic truly existed. In fact, there is- or at least had by then, a bunch of magic creatures living among us and we had no idea because we were used to our routines and livelihood. But Star had to adapt and she had to question and understand everything and while she had to discover and learn, she ended up showing and doing the same for us."
Janna rested her chin on her hand in a tedious position "Your point being?"
"My point is that there was magic here before Star came along. Magic that was from here, from Earth. Like, very low and not much, but once was enough to connect our worlds and dimensions, then we can do it again."
"That… kinda makes sense." She agreed with a nod "But if she blocked the other side it would still be impossible."
"She might have blocked the way directly to Mewni and other dimensions I knew the way over. But it's impossible for her to have blocked all dimensions back and forth."
"So what? Your plan is to go aimlessly into a random dimension and find a way over into another until you jump onto Minnie?"
"Mewni, and yes. I will get the right way eventually. I know I will." Marco said determinedly, "I had to hunt down the entity that was responsible for creating the material for transportation through the dimensions and I did it. If I was able to do that by then, nothing will stop me from reaching out for Star. And I know for a fact, there's a place that connects all dimensions."
A place that once almost got destroyed by desperation and naiveness, by that's another story and a detail he didn't need to disclose right now.
"Except the fact I can't use magic." Janna reminded him.
"Not really, that's what I am trying to say. Star might have cut or blocked the magic traces that were unnatural from here, but she can't get rid of what is natural."
"Uh…" Janna squinted her eyes, having trouble understanding "I kinda get your point, but not what you aim at…"
"Look, think about this like… the seasons!"
Janna gave a flat look as if that seemed more confusing but gestured to him to go on.
"You see, in Spring it's the prosperous time, when flowers grow, fruits are there and things blooms, then comes summer and while the temperature is high, we still can get the supriments spring gave us, then comes autumn and that's when the hard time comes. Leaves fall, fruits are not that much, some plants die, all while we prepare to the winter, when it's cold and we need to survive without much food-"
Janna facepalmed herself "You know that's totally not how it works, right?!"
"Just listen!" He sighed "after the time at lowest, what comes next?"
"Spring?"
"Exactly!" Marco replied her bored tone with excitement, "It comes the time when it flourishes again! You understand?! It's a cycle!"
Janna frowned, understanding his logic but still questioning it "You think Star speeds up the cycle?"
"She did something. Knowing or not." He shrugged, turning to her once more "Nature finds a way. It will make magic flow again, if it follows the seasons or not I have no idea, but I know it does follow a cycle. He have magic in our history, we got historical events that none can explain, and that follows some impact, and it goes around the world not just a place particular, and we had quiet times and then the new things again and-"
"Breathe, boy" Janna said standing up and sighing a bit as she forced Marco to sit down and take a moment, "Did you take your medicine?"
"We don't have time to-"
"We made a deal." She crossed her arms standing up in front of him as she looked at him sternly from his bed. "You keep yourself sane and under the medical conditions, as long as you're stable and healthy I'm willing to help you." The dark-haired girl looked around and asked again, "So, did you take your meds?"
Marco sighed and thought for a moment, "I did take them this morning." He looked at his phone for a moment and took a breath of redemption, "It is a bit past the time for me to take some I guess…"
"Well, then." His childhood friend gestured to the door, so he could go ahead and get the medicine wherever they were. Marco did as she suggested, knowing she was asking for the best of him and she was indeed looking out for his health. The last thing he needed now he was getting his memories back and was determined to find Star, was to have a breakdown and lose control (his last one was still healing in his eyebrow), he ain't got time for that.
He got his meds and went to the kitchen taking a cup of water as Janna promptly got herself to sit on the couch with Barko Jr. After taking his meds and sitting on the couch he was about to continue when Janna gestured him to wait.
"Take a breath. You were getting anxious, so take a few minutes. I'll wait."
"We don't have time for this, Janna."
"Then you're gonna have to deal with this alone." She looked at him, her face completely serious, "We made a deal, and I'll make sure you stand your word even against your own wishes."
Marco huffed, dropping himself on the couch "What is this, your crush on me is back?!"
"Hm, kinda. Considering you're the best candidate? Maybe." At his unbelievable stare she smirked "What? You can see me dating Alfonso? Ferguson? Jason?! ugh, no. The girls aren't much better and the hottest take went halfworld away" Janna made a dramatic gesture "So I might as well take care of my last option in case the worst happens."
"Wow, thanks" Marco replied to her in a sarcastic tone.
"You're welcome. Don't worry, once our kid gets my talent and hits big, that will make me meet my true guy. I'll dump you right away."
Marco frowned "I really have no idea if you're serious or not."
"Me neither" Janna replied.
He looked at her in complete confusion and decided to let it go since it wasn't going anywhere. Taking some breaths instead as he watched the clock he was able to feel himself calming down slowly and organizing his own thoughts.
"You had always liked spooked stuff, remember?"
"So what?" Janna said, turning to lay with her feet up, "Does that have to do with anything?"
"Remember the time church used to hunt witches and other beings, but mostly witches?"
"Yeah, many women got killed, they never apologized and all that jazz… Why are you giving me a history lesson?"
"You are a descendant of the Witches…" He frowned "I don't remember quite much clearly yet, but… I remember you found out one ancestor of yours was hunted down, claimed to be a witch and got to escape, you found there actually two types of such thing and used Star magic to… Do something… I can't remember well, but I know you used her magic to make your own flow again from the sleepy state it was in."
Janna sat straight and looked at him in shock "Are you telling me, I'm magic?"
Catching her tone of both disbelief and sassiness, Marco joked back at her "You're a Wizard, Janna."
"I'm a what?"Janna whispered before laughing with him, "Seriously, you're telling me I'm a witch?"
"Pretty much. You used to say the others called you something else because they didn't consider you one of them, but you got it."
Janna stood up and paced slowly in the living room, murmuring to herself as she was making her own conclusions from the information he gave.
"OK, if what you say is true, then there might be a way to awaken what was inside of me. I mean, she didn't destroy the magic, she just erased what existed from her existence, right?"
"I guess? I don't know that much actually. It's just a theory"
"That makes sense," Janna prompted "if she truly had erased every magic or destroyed then that would erase even the ones who weren't involved with her… Like your dog and, well, me."
"You?"
"It's just as you say, if I already had a bit in me, even if too little to make a difference, doesn't change the fact I got it and could try to do again what I did last, if she had went far enough it would have erased the existence of those who have some magic connection in them, me." She pointed out.
"So you think you can do it?"
Janna smirked, grabbing her purse and fishing for her phone as she began to type "Only one way to find out."
.
.
.
It was weird enough how her mother had been hovering over her lately, but having Tom, Ponyhead and Kelly aside every other person around to do the same was becoming maddening.
Star knew she had been sick, whatever her cough was, made everyone worried since they didn't find a solution. It was recurring more and more, if she coughed in front of them there was a desperation to show in their eyes so quickly she had to find out what they were hiding.
The little petal in her hand told her it was a lot more than they let her know.
The doctors have told her if she ever coughs something, she has to go to them immediately, and so her friends often offered to give her a doctor if there was any signal of her cough…
If she wanted to find out what was going on, she couldn't trust either side about the petals in her cough.
Besides they should be busy and worried about something else, she was getting married soon for the sake of her kingdom, they should be trying to find a way out of the war menace.
Just like she should be if she wasn't busy organizing a wedding ceremony she would rather not have anyways.
"Why do we have to make it big?!" She moaned tiredly to her mother.
"You're a princess, simple as that. The people need to know and have security for their new king, the wedding it's not just about tying laces, but also about showing the people you have a ground and know what you're doing, in the fateful decision you're making by marrying this man." Moon replied and put her papers down.
"Can we like, make an agreement, sign stuff and bep bop do? No one is interested in anything else aside from keeping Mewni safe at this point."
Moon turned to her and took a breath, "Is that why you agreed to the marriage?"
"Well, yeah…" the princess replied, turning away from her mother. "It's not like I had many choices anyway."
"I'm really sorry for all of this Star…" her mother replied with a sad voice, "Of all people, I really wish you had the chance to make the choice like I did in my time."
"You're not helping much…" Star observed looking at another stupid list of things to get for a wedding. Why did they need a golden cornucopia?!
"I know… That's why I invited someone that knows about this to talk it out with you."
Turning to her mother, her eyes turned curious "Who did you invite?"
Moon smiled at her, "It's a surprise."
She rolled her eyes and continued to look in her to-do list about what there was to still afford for the ceremony. She couldn't wait until the papers had been over so she could get to…
To what?
Star shook her head and tried to focus again. There was no one for her to meet after that, she had been so sleepless and stressed about things happening that she had been catching herself into errands that didn't exist or lost in corridors trying to find a room that wasn't there.
Maybe she should see a doctor after all.

.
.
Marco stood blinking at a board that Janna made with pins, pictures, lists and scribes around and even a red string that connected to a question mark.
"Uh… what am I looking at?"
Janna sighed, "You're looking at the fact that you were right." Crossing her arms she looked away "Damn I was hoping you weren't so on point."
"What does the criminal board have to do with this?"
"This is an investigation board, thank you very much." Janna said and pointed at her notes, "I went around my stuff to figure out the blanks points or odd stuff that I couldn't remember how happened or that the explanation was just plain weird."
Marco frowned at a picture of her and pointed, "What does a picture of you in a pink dress have to do with this?"
Snatching the picture from his hand, Janna followed her notes as if there was never the said picture there, "So there are a lot of those blanks around like, why the heck I have a recipe for cupcakes? I don't even cook, and if I did, I wouldn't be interested in cupcakes!"
Marco looked around the said notes noticing the odd that Janna was mentioning. She was right about most of them, the pictures of scenarios and selfies were not her thing, just like notes on clothing, books, and… that Korean version of Twilight?
"What matters is that you're right. Whatever I had in me or that composed those pictures enough to make me interested, was changed."
He nodded, "and how are you finding proof I was right to help us?"
"It helps because I began to look into my stuff to see if I could find anything else and, BOOM!" Janna shoved her phone in his face.
"A… contact list?" He asked, confused.
"Yep. I went through my contact list, I don't know the majority of these names and some weren't even real numbers like this… Thomas the Train?! Why do I have the number of a toy train to begin with?"
Marco tried to bring her focus back again, "Well, and did you find anything that helped us?"
Janna began to tap her phone again, "Actually, I did!"
Turning the phone to him again Marco was to stare at the eyes on the screen looking right back to him. It was a woman a bit older than them, she was red haired and skin a bit paler than his, her brown eyes blinked at him then she smiled and waved at him from the screen.
"Tami, meet Marco. Marco, this is Tamir LesTrange" Janna said, motioning between them.
"Hello!" Tami said, smiling from the other side.
"Hi…" he replied and looked at Janna, "how exactly is she supposed to help?"
Janna put her phone on his table where the stranger could see them both, "Tami remembers what I can't, or at least most of it. To begin with how we meet and what we are."
"Hey! I thought you said you believed in me saying you were a witch?"
There was a giggle and Marco realized it came from the screen, "There's a difference between believing and fact checking," Tami explained, "she was trying to recover what was lost in the spell of your friend."
"Wait, you remember too?!"
"Kinda" the red haired replied, "your theory of Earth's own magic isn't completely wrong, but also has some fantasies into it. I can remember what is related to me, Janna and the betweens, but if you ask me specifically about that friend of yours, well, I'm afraid I'm not much help." She shrugged embarrassed.
"So, how can you help us then?"
This time Janna replied to him, "Dude, she's a Witch."
Marco blinked twice at Janna and then at the phone before letting a gasped "Whaaat" escape his lips.
"A witch, Marco." The other laughed, "Oh boy, Potter references never get old!" The red haired girl shook her head and continued "I'm one of the natural magic users from Earth, see?"
On a movement with her hands, there was a wave of energy that made some stuff on her desk float before getting down again by another gesture to make it disappear.
He looked at the lady's hands in shock. It was one thing to know magic existed and have memory of it, but to see it was something completely different. To see the proof in a live video of another magic user was… almost unbelievable.
Wow, he gets why the others had trouble believing him.
"OK, Tami, can you explain what you told me before to him?" Janna asked.
"Why don't you say it?" She questioned.
"I forgot already."
With a sigh, the woman on the other side began to speak to Marco. "As I told Janna, your theory is in the right way, but not quite. Our world is about cycles, from the survival and animal one, to life and magic one. So yeah, there are parts of history that magic is stronger and others that are not, but aren't related to seasons, but with world history itself and around."
"World history?"
"Yep!" Tami nodded, "It's one of the biggest and sadly most natural occurrences in humanity, history repeats itself. Kind of like a curse even. People study history to not make the same mistakes, but while they do, the other part is making up and learning that stuff and find themselves agreeing with the past and making their own conclusions to do over again and as a result it happens again."
"That… is awful, is there nothing to do?"
"It's human nature. To find themselves in a group and try to engage into their battles to survive and the goals to fight against the opposition. The only way to stop the cycle would be to put everyone in a stance of ultimate survival: work together or die."
"Like stone age." Janna replied.
Marco shook his head to focus again, they could talk about history lessons later "What does this have to do with the magic?"
"Oh yeah!" The woman said changing her sitting pose "Well, the reason is because once there was a limited or over-limits magic on Earth is pretty simple, the Inquisition and Witch hunting events."
"So the Inquisition was right?"
"Nope." Both women replied and Janna continued, "they did kill a lot of innocents while hunting. Most people dead weren't related to magic even, or didn't even know."
Marco tried to follow their line of thought "Uhh… That means?"
"That means that, whatever your girlfriend did, she can't change history. She at most repressed what was already around. So we can recover the state to what it was and make magic flow around Earth, however I don't know about the portals stuff, that was never knowledge of our world magic."
"We still have to try." He replied determined, ready to get up. "It's the best chance We- I have to."
"Easy there, Romeo." Said Janna pushing him back down to his bed, "So far we gave you the good news."
He sighed, of course it wouldn't be that easy. "Ok, tell me the bad news."
"Well, for beginners…" Janna started, "Thomas the Train it's not the only contact missing. There's a bunch of them, for both me and Tami."
Tami looked at him with a sad smile, "That's true. And while I'm good friends and a mentor to Janna, I'm still a minor witch. In fact, Janna was stronger than I was. I lost contact with the Witches and other creatures more or less around the data your friend had cut the magic flow."
"Did something happen to them?" Marco asked in worry.
"I don't think so." The witch replied "I think they sensed something to come and took the ways to be safe, even if we lost contact with others. They probably left the others safe from consequences out of it, like Wiccas and minor witches, and in Janna's case, an illegitimate Witch."
"Illegitimate witch?" Marco asked his friend.
"Long history to another history and time. Now," Janna said, focusing back on the matter, "the point is, all the people who have better knowledge on Earth magic or how we could make the portal thing work again are out of reach and the others who are left aren't powerful enough to connect to other worlds."
Marco crossed his arms and thought for a while, looking between a magicless-witch Janna and the witch on the phone before an idea struck him again. "What if we reunited you?"
"What?" Both of them asked.
"Alone you can't do much, but… United, maybe we could bring enough power to make a connection, even to another world…" Marco took his magical scissors out of his pocket and showed them "From there I can get to other places until I reach the right one to get to Mewni."
"YOU HAVE AN INTERDIMENSIONAL SCISSOR?!" Tami screamed from the other side of the phone "Damn, you were someone important! Do you have any idea how hard it is to get one of these? A human even?!"
"I have vague memories of it." Marco shrugged, smiling sincerely to her "So, we can get contact with others you girls find and reunite to try to make these work, how about it?" Tami smiled sadly at him again and Marco could already sense the bad news again, but this time it was Janna who let out a sigh as she crossed her arms.
"You think I didn't want to meet her or bring her here for a reason? Would have been a lot easier and better" She pouted.
He looked at Tami questioning in silence what Janna meant, but observing the scenery behind her, more specific about what he thought until then it was a poster until the moment he saw a bird flying there, it dewelled him the reason of why Janna was upset and the bad news.
Marco let out a groan as he hid his face in his hands, to which Tami confirmed in voice what he just concluded, "I'm in Japan."
"And as far as we had been, well, mostly her since they refuse to talk to an illegitimate witch with no powers, most wiccans and witches left are in the same situation. We are scattered around the world" Janna replied.
He let his back fall into the bed and groaned louder. It could not be easy, could it?!

When she was told she had visitors, Star had expected to be one of her friends checking on her again for the fifth time that week, or maybe even a surprise visit from a messenger from her fianceé kingdom with more stuff arranged or to be arranged for the wedding.
She didn't not expected to meet Eclipsa sitting in the garden drinking tea as she waited for her.
"Oh dear!" Eclipsa smiled "There you are! It's so good to see you! Come sit!"
Confused, Star obliged to what the other queen requested, "Hi Eclipsa… I'm sorry I wasn't expecting you."
"Really?" She replied surprised, "Your mother invited me, I thought you do know."
The princess blinked confused, "You were the one she told me about? I didn't know. She just said it was someone I could talk about and it was a surprise."
"Well, she told me about what you had been dealing with and… I can understand. I think from all the people I'm the closest that can understand you, that's probably why she told me to come talk to you."
So that was it. Her mother was still worried, despite her doctor saying she was ok and that she agreed with the meanings behind the wedding. Yes, she was still trying to find a way out of the war menace, but it was more a precaution and safety than anything else. Besides, so far the plan is going very well and… If it came to worse than she had to make sure someone was left to look after what she left.
"I'm fine, really." Star sighed.
"It's natural for a mother to be worried, more so in this case in which the daughter was forced into a decision she wasn't ready or didn't want to take." Eclipsa replied "It's a different situation, but we both had to go with the decision for outside factors."
It was only then that Star was reminded of the fact that Eclipsa was married before Globgor, despite already being with him and having her relationship established. Solaria didn't accept their relationship and arranged her wedding with a prince from a fellow kingdom in hopes that the marriage and kingdom obligation would make Eclipsa forget her forbidden passion for a monster of all people. Star didn't know much details aside from the fact that Globgor broke his promise to never feed himself from human flesh again by consuming Chastican, getting away to have Meteora and get captured shortly after and separated for all those years.
So far, Eclipsa was really the one who could understand the situation the most, even if the reasons for the arranged marriage were different, neither had been out of love, but because the obligations of the crown required so, for the safety of the people. For Eclipsa, because the former queen's prejudice against monsters was so powerful, she took a blind eye to who she put her daughter with. For her, because the war menace was a risk to the whole of Mewni and other possible dimensions and kingdoms Mewni had been in peace, not to count the possible multiverses.
She looked up to Eclipsa again, the queen being patient in Star taking her time to speak if she wished. Eclipsa has always been a kind heart that didn't deserve what happened to her. Star was really glad she was able to help get Eclipsa's happy ending by letting her rule the Monster Castle, which was her rightful place given Globgor once was the king of monsters. Maybe she couldn't fix the time and all that happened, but she could at the very least help.
Besides, it was a great help given that monsters and Mewmans still had much distaste on each other to just live together magically, it needed time to adapt, and so far having the kingdoms nearby with a free pass to both sides was showing to be really helpful. Even those who disliked the idea, at the very least respected the new ways of living… Well, after the battle that is.
Eclipsa also had been kind to them by giving the Crown back and rebuilding Mewni. So now they could rule together and work so both kinds would live and work together, the progress has been promising so far. Both crowns had been working hard to make it possible to unify in the future.
"Do you think…" Star said unsure "Am I doing the right thing?"
Eclipsa thought a bit, "There's no way we can know. For as long as I know you, Star, you have been writing the history your own way, taking what you thought was best by following your heart but taking your mind into it." She smiled at the princess "You proved yourself over and over again, you showed every single one that you can do more than one can imagine and even yourself. When we think you're done, you come with something new and that is what makes you the best queen of us all. Even now, I have no doubt you have something in your mind of how you can make things right and fix, and if you don't have the answers… you're on the way there." She looked into Star's eyes and smiled "Am I wrong?"
For the first time in a long time, Star smiled. Eclipsa had her right, she was trying to find a way to fix things up… But she didn't know the cost of it. And if she were to admit…
"I am scared." Star replied.
"I would think it weird of you not to be. You're about to face something new, but then again, you can always overcome the obstacles given. You and Marco."
Star blinked, her heart racing to the name familiar and dearly but yet new to her. She repeated in a whisper to her lips, she could even see the image of a boy with a red hoodie over his head…
A loud childish laughter distracted her. Both of them looked beyond their table to where Globgor was playing with Meteora and… Since when Eclipsa had another child? Star felt her chest tight and the coughs coming up, but she couldn't take that since the feeling of dread and anxiety had been washing over her. To the memory of her holding the other girl as a newborn baby, to her older brother introducing them, and the images flooding back.
Her head hurt, breathing was hard, and she couldn't even walk in a straight line when she got up abruptly to leave the garden abandoning the worried calls of the other queen. She just had to leave that place. She had to be quiet and think, she had to…
Remember.
She remembers now. The friendship, the love, the heartbreak. Earth, the school, her friends, the time spent between dimensions, the fights and all that came along. She remembers him always by her side and their hands together, she remembers his little sister, who they had promised to let grow with Meteora again, she remembers Diaz, who asked to be called as her parents too, she remembers why the earrings were so important. She remembers Angie telling her goodbye and Rafael holding her close…
She was so stressed up by then she didn't get to think about Mariposa, who wasn't around and didn't get mentioned by them.
She feels the tears on her eyes and coughs some more petals as she falls on her knees. She remembers the sickness and what happened. She remembers why it's so important that the plan works and she gets someone to take care of what's left once she's gone…
Eclipsa steps behind her carefully, and kneels to the ground, trying not to scare her after how she fled the garden. Her hand makes gentle circling motions until Star is calmed enough to speak if she wishes.
"Mariposa…" Is all she can say.
Eclipsa bites her lip and sighs, deciding to say once for all. "As you know, after how well Meteora and her bonded, we agreed with Diaz to have them grow together. The vacations here and school time on Earth… Since me and Globgor were going on the vacation trip early and Mariposa wasn't in school yet, we invited her to come."
Star slowly turned to look at Eclipsa as she continued, still sniffing for what she was about to hear, "That's when they contacted us and told about what was to happen. We spoke to Moon too and… We talked. A lot. So we decided that Mariposa was taken care of by us, and Diaz sent all her material to study, and also things to be remembered by. We thought about moving to Earth or they moving here, but… It didn't solve the problem in the end. Angie said they had Marco to take care after, and they had been parenting once, they would miss Mariposa everyday, but it would be the best. Rafael agreed they couldn't take Meteora away from us to take care of given she had magic, and that we had been apart for so long and we finally had our second chance…"
"So Mariposa is trapped in here."
"Mariposa is growing up with Meteora…" Eclipsa sighed, "She's too young to understand she can't go back to Earth. We have all the stuff from her to know and we're gonna tell her, but…" The queen took a breath, "The Evanescent magic took effect here too… Mariposa doesn't remember anything about Earth aside from what we told her."
Star choked as she started crying harder, she didn't mind to know if the petals were choking her or the tears, believing she deserved at this point. She just tore a family apart and erased a little girl's memory of her own family. Mariposa didn't remember her family back on Earth and by this she could only guess that the portals cutting severed those ties and by that maybe the Diaz couldn't remember her too.
She deserved to suffocate on those petals.
Now that she thought about it, the Diaz were looking into a family album when she left… They weren't looking into her pictures only, but the ones with Mariposa.
"What have I done?!" Star whispered crying in pain "Why no one told me?!"
"Oh dear…" Eclipsa caressed her head "You had already so much… None of us wanted to give you that pain and burden. It was a parenting decision for adults to take, and we did. We didn't want you to take the blame or responsibility."
"What for?!" Star continued to cry "How can I ever forgive myself from separating her from her family, for her losing her memories? for them to lose their daughter?!"
Eclipsa smiled sadly and was about to speak when she saw someone else in the room. Star looked up to see the little girl with brown skin and the cute mole as her brother, those big brown eyes confused looking at them as she slowly approached, her hair a bit longer than she remembered and she looked at Star sad.
"Don't cry…" She said, patting Star's face.
Star smiled sadly, trying her best to not scare Mariposa as she picked her up and hugged tightly, she looked so much after her brother it hurt. She continued to whisper how much she was sorry until she began to calm down.
Eclipsa stayed there supporting Star by staying by her side simply. It didn't miss her eyes the smudged makeup that covered the broken hearts, nor the petals on the floor.

Janna walked into Marco's room letting out a whistle. There were papers all around, his computer open with at least thirty tabs open, there were scribbles, notes, and red strings on the floor, maps, pictures and even other stuff that Janna didn't pay attention to in the middle of her process.
"I understand why you weren't surprised with my board now."
Marco chuckled as he marked something in another note, "I'm the crazy guy, remember? This is organized close to how my mind had been before. I don't like to admit it, but those pills do help."
"Are you taking them, by the way?"
"Yup." Marco took the bottle out his pocket and shook so Janna could see and hear the pills inside before he put back in his pocket, "They are necessary, so I take them. I wish I didn't have to? Yes, but for now I need them and that's it."
Janna clapped to him and Marco rolled his eyes. He knew medicine was important, and took time for him to accept he needed the mental medicine just like any other sick person would need. If they were for the heart he would take them, so why not take them for his brain?
"You said you had news." The former witch replied, trying to step further into the room, "Is this it?"
Marco got up and bit his marker end thinking a bit more into how to voice his thoughts.
"I think I know how to open the portal." Janna stopped in her tracks, not daring to make any movement until he continued "If this place was once connected to Mewni through magic, it means it should be connected again, even if just a little. Might not be enough to create a portal, but the magic is already in both places, Earth is already connected to the magic dimensions as so. We could reunite a number of people to try to gather enough energy for the scissor to work, but even so might not be enough, and focusing them on one place might not help the magic to keep flowing."
His friend decided it was safer to step back and lean on the doorframe, "Ok, so, we need to reunite or not?"
"We need everyone to stay where they are." Marco replies nodding "If you had been scattered all around the world, there might be a reason for it. Tami said that the natural course is that the flow comes back little by little and the other witches and whatever are waiting the time for it, so I thought, 'what if that's it?' you know?" Marco said happily. Janna blinked slowly to him and continued her deadpan stare so he could continue for her to understand. "She cut the unnatural magic, her own and what came with her, the witches might have been influenced by the flow of her magic around, that's why they left."
Janna thought for a second, "Actually, that makes sense. If it wasn't much and suddenly there's a new one around they might have been caught by the new magic too… They could have lost all the magic like I did for mixing it up."
"Like filling a cup of water with orange juice. If you want to get rid of the mix you need to get rid of both." Marco said "And because they had the influence, they couldn't risk to stay. However!" Marco said pointing to a scheme drawing on his wall, "Tami said she and the other left were more natural magicians, that used Earth and natural sources, that's why they are out of risk!"
There was a gasp heard and then a voice replying to him, "It's natural magic!"
The trickster took her phone out of her jacket and showed him her mentor on video call who was clapping and smiling happily. "Well, that explains how I was so oddly and suddenly put in Japan."
"You weren't there before?"
"Nope!" She replied "I made a test to come here, but I was sure to fail because of some missing papers, but then they suddenly were found and approved at the last second." She thought for a second, "I wonder if there are others who have done this too."
"It might if we go by Marco's theory." Janna replied. "Maybe the Elders knew that we could restore the magic flow by ourselves and made a way to scarce us around the globe." She shrugged.
"If that's the case," The boy continued "I thought that if you all used your magic at the same time, it might be enough to get magic on Earth flowing on the levels that it was again."
The red haired woman frowned a bit in worry, "I'm not sure, it might need a lot of people doing it at the same time, and there are the timezones, not to say so far the ones I had contact don't have that much power enough to make our magic connect one point to another to make it flow." She sat back on the chair and crossed her arms thoughtfully.
"Marco, are you really asking us to do that? We would be risking to expose ourselves and be hunted down to death again for what? So you can be with your girlfriend?"
Marco gulped. She had a point, there were many factors to make it harder. to make one witch to pass the magic from a point to another, then that required that some ignored the timezones, and…
And this was the best chance he had to see Star again.
"Yes." He replied "I'm asking you to do this so I can go to her. I will cross every mountain, swim every ocean just to fix what I've broken. If I need to go around the world to talk and ask one by one to agree then I will. This is the best if not the only chance I got to be with her. So yes, I'm being selfish and asking you all to take the risk to restore the Earth magic and I can be with Star again."
There was a moment of silence before a loud squeal and giggling from the phone startled both in the room, "Okay!"
"Okay?!" Both Janna and Marco replied surprised.
"Okay." The witch nodded, grabbing some papers and writing something in them, "I'm a big fan of love, and that confession? That got me. So yeah I'm going to do it. I'll talk to my friends and the ones I got in contact to plan this and will get back to you. Ah! I can't wait to help you two get back together!" Suddenly the woman began to transform the notes she wrote into paper birds and sent them to the window. "I have much work to do, I'll see you later!" With another set of squeals and giggles she hung up.
Both teenagers stood there looking at the phone screen locking it up in shock. It was rather… easy. And that was exactly why Marco wasn't sure if it would work, if there is something he learned about this whole thing is that nothing would come easy to him.
Still, he had high hopes and for that, he grabbed the bracelet that once belonged to her and held it tight, hoping that soon he could give it back, that then he could hold her hand - if she allowed, he had to recognize that he had every right to reject by how things messed up.
"I would love to stay," Janna commented but stopped for a second, "Wait nevermind, I'll stay and look around your stuff to see if I get any other stuff to this mad plan of yours"
"Gee, thanks" Marco shrugged and moved for her to come into his room. "Be my guest. I'll get some air."
"By the smell of this room, you do need it."
He ignored the comment even through his blush. He knew she was just teasing him… right?
He was walking down the corridor when he saw his dog lying in front of the guest door crying. Once he saw Marco, it got up and began to scratch the door asking to be open for him. He was ready to open the door when he touched the handle and suddenly began to hear a song from the other side.
When I wake up, yeah I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be the man who wakes up next to you!
He stopped for a moment, he was sure the room wasn't in use for a long time and that there was nothing on the other side of that door. So that could only mean…
When I go out, yeah I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you!
Marco opened the door, but instead of looking into the visitor room that was very much like his, he saw a huge room, with an aquarium, stairs, and even a balcony. He stepped into the room with a fond smile on his face as he watched in admiration the figure on the bed jumping and dancing to the song blasting in her speaker.
If I get drunk, Well I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be the man who gets drunk next to you!
It was another of her times singing super glue songs, she was jumping on her bed as she sang the lyrics, laughing happily as she did so, her golden hair dancing up and down, her bed already a mess from her dancing.
And if I haver, well I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be the man who's haverin' to you!
He couldn't help but smile openly at the memory, it was such a happy and innocent time. She was just there dancing and singing to a good song and enjoying the moment, while he was making nachos down the stairs. She was smiling so brightly and it was such a good memory that made him laugh a bit to see her like that.
There was a noise beside him, she didn't notice because of the song and how distracted he was by the scene, he found himself years young putting down the table some nachos only to lean on the doorframe crossing his arms and watch her performance of happiness.
How he didn't realize by then he was already falling for her? That fond and loving smile and the joy he remembers to feel just to watch her jumping to the song and be happy for a moment… It was enough to make him smile and be happy himself.
He laughed, they were really oblivious.
Star soon took notice of him standing there watching her and motioning to him to get up her bed and join her, he gave an eye roll pretending to be reluctant but joined her more than glad.
"When I'm lonely, well I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be the man who's lonely without you!"
They began to dance together, both laughing above the bed as they continued to lip sync the song.
"When I'm dreaming, well I know I'm gonna dream, I'm gonna dream about the time when I'm with you!"
They began to run in circles in the bed, getting dizzy and then switching to another game.
"When I go out, well I know I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you!"
They began to try to ticklish one to another. Sometimes missing and others getting right making another fit of laughter go up.
"And when I come home, yes I know I'm gonna be, I gonna be the man who's coming home with you"
They both sang together getting louder and louder until they reached the chorus and began to shake their heads, messing up their hair hard as they sang one to another as they jumped in her bed.
"But I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 500 more! Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles to fall down at your door!"
The song went on, and Marco grabbed a pillow to hit her, Star laughed, grabbing another to defend and attack him. They stayed like that until the chorus came back again and they sang together breathless.
"But I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 500 more! Just to be the man who walked a thousand miles to fall down at your door!"
They both give a last jump and fall laying down on her bed in a fit of laughter with their belly hurting and red faces from all the energy wasted just for the fun and singing together and having a fun time.
The laughter began to fade in the air as the memory faded and gave place to reality. His dog was laying down on the bed that was just like his, he stepped closer and sat there looking at the bracelet once again.
"I miss her too." he told Barko, embracing the animal and caressing it's fur until he fell asleep.
At the door, Janna looked down at the floor before taking her phone and dialing some numbers. She couldn't let him go on like that, if Marco needed to meet the girl again to get his closure, then he would meet her. Even if she had to ask some favors she had been saving.

.
.
"MOON!"
Her name echoed into the room and she flinched, but still took a breath. She should have expected that Eclipsa would find out about what was going on sooner or later, and given she took Star as a granddaughter/nephew it was no surprise she would be furious once she found out about the whole thing and not only what Moon let her know.
"Before you take out your fury on me, take a seat so I can explain…"
"You erased her memories!" Eclipsa slammed her fists on the table, "You took away her memories about the boy she loved!"
"I had my reasons to do so and you would understand if-"
"And she has broken hearts! Her magic is unstable, she's been crying non-stop! Moon, have any idea of what you have done?!"
"I have plenty of ideas of what I did and I did what was best for her!" Moon replied, raising her voice.
Globgor came into the door a bit after being accompanied by River, Glossaryck and Baby. The monster tried to calm down his wife by gently pulling her to sit, but she refused, still staring at Moon like she could punch her, maybe she would.
"What right do you think you have to take away her memories?!"
"It was hurting her far worse than it should!"
"And taking away was the answer?! That's not up to you to decide, Moon! You out of everyone should know this!"
"Sweetie," Globgor tried again, "let's hear what they have to say."
"I did what I had to do to save my daughter, you would have done the same!"
Eclipsa gasped more angrily than before "What harm could the memories of Marco could have caused?!"
"The memories are killing her! From inside out!" From the moment of shock of the other queen, Moon took a breath and looked down, she admitted in defeat the truth about the condition. "Star has the Deadly Flowers."
Eclipsa let out a breath and finally let herself be led by her husband to sit down as he stood beside her holding her hand, now just as worried about the princess' condition as his wife was.
"What stage is it?" The king of monsters asked.
Moon sat down, River coming by her side as her hands massaged her temples, "She was vomiting the flowers weeks ago. We didn't have many options, so…"
Globgor nodded and Eclipsa looked at him confused, as he clearly knew of the sickness better, it wasn't fully disclosed how many monsters fell victim to such sickness. As he explained what the disease was and the cure methods, Eclipsa felt more heartache for the princess that was playing with the two children in her room at the moment.
"So… you took the flowers out?" She asked.
"We did," River replied, "but she seed is placed in her heart so…" He looked down sadly and Globgor continued for him.
"The flowers will continue to bloom over and over again, and quicker every time, until it comes to a point where… There's no way out."
Eclipsa felt her eyes water and held her husband's hand tight, "There must be something we can do! Some potion or-"
"Don't you think I've been trying?" Moon replied looking up with teary eyes, "I sleep every night without knowing if my daughter will be there in the next day, or for how long… And she's about to marry someone she doesn't love because Marco is back on Earth where we cannot reach anymore."
Eclipsa sniffed and stood in silence for a moment with them. It was a serious situation, and if Star had come to pass before the wedding would be even worse.
Even so, she knew she should, but couldn't bring herself to tell them that Star had partially recovered her memories and the flowers are back. Star made her promise not to do so and now she gets why, she's afraid of losing them again and by now… That's all she has left of her happiness back then.
"So we… wait?" Eclipsa said reluctantly.
Moon closed her eyes with River, showing how much pain they have to admit that all they could do was to provide the best they could while they could, but they couldn't afford a cure or miracle to get her rid of her pain and death.
Eclipsa wished for a moment that she could have convinced Diaz to move to Mewni, this could have solved so many things… but they didn't know back then. Even if they did, once Star severed the magic ties, they would have been sent back to the place they belonged, without magic.
But if was like that, then-
"Wait, Star erased her magic back from Earth, then the same happened from here, right?"
"That's right." Glossaryck confirmed.
Eclipsa then looked up a bit more hopeful, "Then how's Mariposa still here?"
It took a moment for the others to understand what she meant, but when they did, the same feeling of a sparkle of hope that got into them.
"That's impossible!" Moon said, still hard-believing "Earth is magicless!"
Globgor got up and turned to them, "Eclipsa has a point, we had been taking care of Mariposa ever since the portals closed. The only thing that changed was that she also lost her memories, she is still affected by the magic, and possibly what happens back on Earth for that to happen."
The Mewni queen got up and turned to the magic guide, "Glossaryck, is it possible?"
The blue creature thought for a moment, "Earth has its own natural magic like all dimensions, but would be very unlike - not to say impossible to make it connected back or flow enough to connect again. It would be necessary to have an incredible amount of magical power to reconnect with their own magic to make it flow enough and then later they do it again for someone from this side to make the connection."
"We didn't have to do that the first time," River complained.
"The ties weren't severed or blocked then. Just out of use" Said Baby. "Besides, Earth has been out of Magic users for many years, and we have no communication now. They would have to make this plan on their own with none of our communication. No one knows about this to make it happen."
Moon was about to try to argue with another solution when Tom and Ponyhead got into the room in a hurry and were screaming with something in their hands. The queen was about to ask for them to calm down and sit when Tom put the device with a point blinking and made her go speechless.
"I don't know how, but somehow, they are up to something!" Tom said.
The others got around Moon to look into the screen and see what they were so amazed about too and felt themselves in shock as much as the teenagers were, but in a good way. Glossaryck groaned rolling his eyes, but smiled still after everyone gave a hopeful laugh.
On the other side of the room, Ponyhead was dancing in the air chanting happily "I cannot believe it! Earth-Turd did it! Earth has magic again!"
_________
This is for now.
On a brighter note, I'm out of the horrible writer block the finale and few other things gave me. That is to say I'm finally writing the final chapters to go.
Thank you again, and onwards to the finale!

Chapter 2: Gone
Description: So... I know many Daminette fans don't like Damian being younger than Marinette so 🚨SPoiler AleRT 🚨 Damian is gonna be younger for a while but an event happens that gets their ages exchanged. (Sort of)
Warning; swearing, angst.
Summary: Where half the population fades away.
-----
Previously:
"Check the international news" Damian said appearing out of nowhere, Marinette nodded switching her tabs to international news
"What the fuck is that?" Chloe asked pointing at the phone
Boy... the world was in for a life changing ride.
***
"It's a spaceship" Marinette answered listening carefully at the reporter "In New York"
"Should we help or something?" Chloe asked
"No, the Avengers seem to have it under control, besides I think the adults will take care of it." Tim reassured "I don't think there's any of anything to worry about this literally happens all the Time!"
"For once, Drake is right I don't think we should waste our time on this." Damien added
"I guess..." Marinette nodded hesitantly but deep down,  something told her that something bad was gonna happen.
"Why is it donut shaped?" Chloe asked as Damian facepalmed.
***
"So are you dating Damian or Tim?"
Marinette choked on her water as Chloe burst into laughter. The rest just stared unable to understand what was so funny.
"What's so funny?" Tim walked towards them voicing everyone's thoughts
"Is that coffee?" Marinette interrupted, eyes shining at the cup in Tim's hand
"Yes..." he said, narrowing his eyes
"Please gimme" Marinette very 'kindly' requested. now, she had this look that clearly said 'if you dare deny my wishes, you're totally dead'
The entire group of friends 'ooh'ed and "ahhh"ed but Tim wasn't gonna back down.
"Oh, you want this?" Tim asked waving the cup around
"Mmm-hmm, weren't you saying that Chivalry isn't dead? You can prove that by handing me the cup" Marinette smiled cunningly.
"Hmm you're right" Tim nodded taking a sip before spitting it back in and handing it to her, bowing "sorry, I had to check if it was sweet enough for my lady"
The boys in the group howled and whistled, Marinette looked at him in absolute disgust "This is why I won't date you"
"I never asked you on a date" Tim smirked "And I have a girlfriend so.."
"Ugh, I swear I threw up a bit and swallowed it" a red haired girl named Margret gagged.
"Same here" Chloe scrunched her nose
The loud laughter soon died down, it turned Into hushed conversations about the spaceship in New York
"Do you think we're are gonna die?!"
"No" Tim denied "It left earth long ago so...No."
"What do you think it didn't destruct the world like all the other times?"
"maybe they just wanted to plant so they could regroup food for the rest of their planet?"
"Could be" Marinette giggled as the bell rang signaling the end of the lunch break "meet you guys at the lockers after school?" Everyone agreed, waving goodbye to each other.
School ended pretty fast, some teachers even gave updates about the spacecraft, which was long gone and there wasn't anything to worry about. "Schools officially done" Chloe yawned "Now I gonna go to the manor, take a nice warm bath and have my beauty sleep"
"Yeah, today was weirdly boring and tiring, being head boy sucks!"
"Speak for yourself" Chloe snorted "at least you don't have to keep dancing saying 'Go Gothamites!' "
"I don't know today seemed pretty fun" Marinette smiled
"everyday is fun for you." Tim and Chloe deadpanned
"Hey losers." Damian said walking towards them with no emotions...as usual "Except for you angel you're an absolute win-win." Damian remarked, sending her finger guns
"Oh great! Now I have to listen to his unbearable flirting!" Tim threw his hands up in frustration
Marinette sighed "here they go. Again." Before any of them could speak a black limo pulled up in front of them, the window rolled open revealing Jason wearing sunglasses.
"Get in losers, we're going shop- I mean, home!".
Damian rolled his eyes "Why are you wearing sunglasses in a car with black tinted glasses?"
"Where's Alfred? He usually comes to pick us up." Marinette asked making herself comfortable in the car "We thought we'd give you a ride" Dick smiled at her "how was school?"
"Fine" Damian answered "what about the alien spacecraft?"
"Gone" Jason informed "with Iron guy, spider guy and another guy."
"Another guy?" Chloe asked
"Some wizard. don't worry, justice league is already searching for them" Dick smiled again "you guys want to buy anything-"
"Coffee!" Tim and Marinette yelled in unison interrupting the old robin
"-except something you're addicted to like coffee, nail polish or katanas and bloody murder?" Dick blinked at them
"No" all of the huffed
"Awwwwww you kids are so cute!" Jason gushed before leaning back to ruffle their hair
"God! what is hell is wrong with you? it took me so much time to get this perfect hair!"
"Jason I swear to God no more croissants for a month"
"Dude, what the fuck?!"
"Touch me again Todd, I will chop your fingers off."
"You still think they're cute?" Dick asked
Jason shook his head no.
***
Marinette slumped against the soft mattress at Wayne manor relaxing herself the doors suddenly opened and a monkey barged in, jumping on her. And as monkey she meant Stephanie Brown
"Lets do something funnnnnnnn!"
"Steph I'm sorry, I'm tired. go hangout with you're boyfriend." Marinette whined, pushing her off.
"But whyyyy?"
"I'm tired Steph and why are you acting like a kid?, you have a boyfriend. Go make out with him or something"
"But Timmy is busy" she whined
A knock on the door interrupted Marinette "come in."
The door pushed open and Titus ran in jumping on the bed and licking Marinette's face "Titus!" She laughed "Good boy"
"Dinners ready" Damian said from the door way.
"We'll be there" Marinette smiled
"Where my affection when I need it?" The blonde next to Marinette asked to no one in particular, before standing up and walking towards the Damian "lets go! For a delicious dinner awaits us"
Marinette, Stephanie and Damian entered the dining room together, where everyone was seated laughing and talking. "Hey kids" Selina smiled a glass of water in her hands "didn't get to see you all day."
"Yeah" Marinette smiled taking the empty seat between Chloe and Dick, she looked around at the wonderful sight, a year ago Marinette would have never believed that she would be living at Wayne manor, eating mashed potatoes with them. "You okay?" Chloe asked
"I'm fine." Marinette smiled before remembering "Bruce? What-"
"Uh...guys?!" Cassandra's panicked voice exclaimed, everyone snapped their heads towards her fading hand. "Oh God" Dick gasped as he too started fading away
"Bruce" Selina called before completely fading out. The same happened to Steph, Cass, Chloe, Alfred, Dick, Duke, Kate and lastly...
Marinette.
That day, Half the world was wiped out because of the infinity stones.
Never to return ever again.
