Hi my name is Gravemind and it's december 31st at 530 pm and i'm writing a post
um.
fnaf came out when i was like. 9? idk. and it instantly became very special to me. i was one of those kids with a golden foxy oc. i was one of those kids shipping myself with toy bonnie. springtrap became an instant fave of mine and i've always loved the idea of the robots having thought outside of being possessed
i'm a young man who's been struggling with depression for a long time. I lost most of this year and last year, to be honest. i haven't been into fnaf since the fourth game, but getting back into it has been. great. for me. i started drawing again. i planned out and created a cosplay. i downloaded a social media. i got into an old hobby again. i started talking to people.
there are a few of you who have been here since i was 16. following on from my old pokemon projects. the ones i abandoned because i just didn't love pokemon the way i thought i did.
thank you for sticking with me. it means a lot. it means a lot to know that my art is worth something outside of the borders of fandom. that it's fun to look at either way. that i still can create compelling stories about grief and manipulation and shit no matter what my muse is.
i'm an adult now. i have studies to do and books to read and a body to take care of. i fucking pay taxes. who the fuck pays taxes? and why am i allergic to cashews now?
it means a lot to know i've made it this far. and what i have to say is i'm glad everyone else has made it this far, too
to those of you who are new, who have only seen this, my most recent project. i value you, too. every person who likes my post, leaves a comment, or anything of the fucking sort means a lot to me. there are like, thirty of you! reading my shit! that's more people than i can fit in my house! our house party is fucking ruined guys! some of you sit on the lawn please!
anyways i also bought the fnaf cookbook recently so if you guys want to help me make more pizza for the party that'd be lovely. i have chocolate to bribe you with.
I'm glad to be alive, and I'm glad whoever is reading this is alive, too.

Um hi can I get a Johnny (could be forever Johnny, it doesn’t matter to me) comforting his girlfriend who is having a panic attack from being too overstimulated in a loud room.
I just had an anxiety attack because of this exact reason and it wasn’t fun. But if you don’t want to that’s fine!
Loud
A/N: Hi! I hope this is okay, I have anxiety attacks because of this as well so I've written it the way I know it and what works for me to handle it if that makes any sense?
Tumblr media
‘Are you sure you want to hang around for this one, honey?’ your boyfriend, Johnny Knoxville, asked as you walked hand in hand into the building where the Jackass guys would be filming today. Johnny had planned a surprise on the other guys for today; everyone else thought that they were turning up to set to watch Johnny perform a stunt with a snake when in reality, Johnny and Chris were going to lock them in a room, turn the lights out and scare them. They were calling it Silence of the Lambs.
The reason Johnny was double checking whether or not you wanted to watch was because he knew that you had quite bad anxiety that was easily triggered by loud noises; that and the fact you had had a bit of a rough night the night before so you were already feeling crappy and knowing the other guys, it was going to get really loud in the room.
‘Yeah, I’m feeling alright at the moment so if it does get too much, I can just leave. It’s not like I’m going to be locked in the room with you,’ you laughed. As much as you were looking forward to watching this particular skit (you always found it funny when Johnny would freak the other guys out), a part of you couldn’t help but be nervous just in case it did get too much.
‘Well, if you do step outside, let me know and I’ll come with you,’ he said, pressing a soft kiss to your temple. You hummed in agreement, knowing that you wouldn’t do what he asked, not wanting to interrupt the idea he’s been planning for months. The two of you walked into the room where the other guys were sitting and everyone got up to greet you both.
The professional Johnny had hired to give everyone a “health and safety” talk was doing a brilliant job, even you were starting to get nervous and you knew that Johnny wasn’t even performing the stunt being spoken about.
‘Dude, why are you doing this to yourself,’ Poopies said in a tone that suggested he was in complete awe of Johnny.
‘It’ll be fine! I’ve done worse!’ Johnny replied, not being able to control the laugh that left his lips, everyone chalking it down to him being excited. Shortly after, Jeff called everyone out of the room so they could get set up ready. You felt Johnny’s hand grip yours lightly, gently tugging you to a halt.
‘You still okay, honey?’
‘Yeah!’ You smiled at him and he leaned down to kiss you quickly before you joined the others.
---
You had watched Johnny prank Poopies and Zach and you were still okay so you decided to move a bit closer to the screens to get a better look at Dave and Ehren’s turn. You ended up sitting in between Jeff and Spike who were both in on the prank as well. It was about halfway through the prank and so far, you were fine; that was until all the noises started at once.
All of a sudden, your ears started to pick up every little sound from the microphones and you quickly felt your heartbeat pick up as your head started to pound as the noises started to get too much. It wasn’t long before tears started to prick your eyes and your breath started to constrict in your throat.
‘I’m going to step outside for a minute,’ you quietly said to Spike, not wanting to draw attention to yourself. In response, he simply smiled at you and put his hand gently on your back, silently checking you were okay to be on your own.
‘Do you want me to call Johnny out?’
‘No, he’s having fun, I won’t be out long, just need to calm down a bit,’ you replied before heading towards the door.
As soon as you got outside, all the sounds muffled and you felt yourself sink to the floor, back against the wall and drawing your knees into your chest. You could hear your breath start to come out faster as you began to hyperventilate and you buried your head in your knees. Sounding like it came from far away, you heard the sound of a door opening and closing and you jumped when you felt a hand land gently on your arm, relaxing when you saw that it was just Johnny.
‘Hey, honey,’ he said gently, manoeuvring until he was sat pressed tight against you and you buried your face in his chest as you finally let the sobs break from your chest. ‘Hey, you’re okay,’ he said, running his hand up and down your back and resting his cheek against the top of your head, letting you get it out of your system before trying to have a conversation.
After a while, you felt your tears start to dry up and you lifted your head from its place on Johnny’s chest. ‘Sorry,’ you whispered, trying to bring a hand up to wipe your tears only to fall short when you realised that you were still encased in Johnny’s arms.
‘What are you sorry for?’ he asked incredulously, bringing his own hand up to wipe the tears from your eyes, keeping has hand cupped against your cheek.
‘The fact I was already feeling a bit on edge before we left the house this morning but I still tagged along and now you’ve not been able to finish the skit you’ve been so excited about,’ you said, starting to ramble.
‘So? I don’t care that I wasn’t able to finish a fucking skit. You needed me and I’d rather be here for you than for any of those guys in that room.’ He said, kissing your temple and running his thumb along the back of your hand.
‘How did you even know I’d come out? I told Spike not to tell you.’
‘Yeah, and we’re going to talk about that when you’re feeling better. We’d finished with Dave and Ehren so I called through the mic to check on you which is when Spike said that you’d stepped outside.’
‘How’d it go?’
‘Amazing, honey. You’re going to love it when you watch it!’ Johnny then started telling you all about Dave and Ehren’s reactions to the various things him and Chris pulled in the pitch black room which was the perfect distraction. Soon your head had fallen back to Johnny’s chest, all of your energy spent as you just listened to his voice. ‘You cold?’ he asked when he noticed you shiver slightly.
‘A little bit,’ you nodded, ‘I’ll just grab my jacket when I head back in there.’
‘Oh you’re not going back in there, baby,’ he said as he leaned forward to pull the red checked shirt he was wearing open over a black t-shirt and wrapped it around your shoulders, pressing a gentle kiss to your nose as he held it tightly against you. ‘We’re going home and we’re going to spend the rest of the day on the sofa, cuddlin’ up and watching films or you can read your book, whatever you want to do.’
‘But what about filming?’ you asked, hating the thought of dragging him away from his job.
‘They’ve got plenty they can do without me today,’ he said simply, hoisting himself up from the floor and helping you up. Once you were both on your feet, he wrapped an arm around your waist and the two of you headed back to the car.

Summary of May:
I don't know how this month went by so quickly. The last two weeks have just been brain static lol
Um… it looks like I spent most of the time trying to get myself to finish that bridal alt and then got stressed by other stuff happening which I have not gotten on top of or recovered from. Not a great month for studies, but I managed to get at least a little bit done and started catching back up with my Ges Draw Party videos, so… I'll take it
I am happy that I've been exercising more though! Even got one of my 'started walking in one direction and accidentally walked nine miles while exploring' days in, which is one of my all-time favourite things to do and which I really should do more of. Anything over 10k steps in one go is sooooooo good for my mental health. Also been having fun playing Ring Fit and running outside.
Plan from April:
at least one day/week playing games (not art but important to relax with) ✗ I REALLY NEED TO DO THIS BECAUSE I AM NOT GETTING ENOUGH BRAIN REST
Draw May 4th/5th pieces ✗ did May 4th, couldn't decide on what to do for May 5th + was kinda late starting
Rough (pose) sketches for all 4 FEH alt ideas and finish current one before 8th ✗ well this is fun (I do have one pose sketch and a bunch of ref for another idea though)
10x scared ✗ 6
4x 100 comp ✗ aghhh
Proko - review notes + watch shoulder critiques ✓ finally something I have done!
Proko - pecs and breasts I guess ✗ started, but decided I needed to keep going on shoulder anatomy because it's more important to understand
4x Ges Draw Party ✓ YES!!!! WIN (I did 7)
DAB Lesson 7 - 4 vehicles ✗ 2 though
1x master study - comic background or screencap study with perspective ✗ did do a Moebius flying boat study sketch though so xD
June plan:
at least one day/week playing games (not art but important to relax with) (DO THIS!!!!)
use my organisation spreadsheet consistently
meet communication deadlines
review Proko notes
3x FEH alts
10x scared (shoulder tracing)
4x 100 comp
1x FEFDraw video
4x Ges Draw Party
DAB Lesson 7 - 2 vehicles
1x master study - another Moebius ship
notes and improvements from finished stuff:
ACTIONABLES: USE PHOTO REFERENCE FOR EXPRESSIONS!!!!! JUST DO IT ✗ however have been trying to use face photos more for perspective, do hair studies ✗ doing better at this tho, decide whether majority of piece is going to be dark or light and base contrast around that ✓, draw out ribcages (+ shoulder bones) for every sketch ✓, use photo/RL reference for EVERY HAND - even doodles ✗ but most of them + using reference WAY better this month by trying to take perspective into account , do a separate detail pass the day after ‘finishing’ something ✗ too impatient lol, use photo reference for folds ✓
5MIN SCARED IDEAS: find good hair examples and trace ✗ …I might have done this? it's in my study file but might be from last month, trace torsos for gesture ✓ , review/learn leg muscles ✓, draw one hand ✓, identify fold type in clothing photos ✗
heath: bad line quality (I thickened some of the lines in a really scribbly way), armour not correctly 3d, folds don't make sense, still not sure of structure of torso
b/odhi: bad values makes it hard to look at (too much contrast), figure not conforming to perspective in places, hand is awful, doesn't look like he's sitting on the boxes because of where the horizon line is, messy/scribbly lines on the ship, ambiguous positioning of up arm vs the thing that's supposed to be to the side of it
lyon: hair is kinda clumpy in a bad way (needs flyaways or something along the length of hair sections, I think), torso anatomy nonexistent lol, I don't know if that's where ears are supposed to go
mid/een: not happy with the expressions I ended up with, m's legs look too long even though he should proportionally be ok??, lack of shoulder anatomy knowledge intersected with lack of perspective knowledge and made his arm look really weird BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHY, shaky adherence to horizon line, a's far wrist is way too small, her torso is also all kinds of messed up, had trouble reconciling anime stylised face + actual real face anatomy (flat vs. planes of face), HOWEVER I think the rendering came out pretty nicely and the bow was surprisingly straightforward to draw. all the things I'm annoyed about here are, I think, the result of me hitting my skill ceiling and not knowing enough to solve problems - so I am trying to be more okay with that xD
ACTIONABLES: draw out ribcages/shoulder anatomy for every sketch, trace heads + ears for placement, study Otomo 3/4 faces, draw box in perspective + horizon line (at least H.L.) before placing characters, keep tracing shoulders
5MIN SCARED IDEAS: draw one hand, shoulder/ribcage tracing, review/learn leg muscles, draw one hand, trace heads + ears, Otomo study

SESSION TWELVE of the BatIM Call of Cthulhu game, aka Continuing to have a Great Time At The Masquerade! : )
Joey and Bendy destabilised early on, meaning Joey went through the ENTIRE masquerade UNABLE TO STOP SMILING
getting some mixed messages here, Joey
Sometimes u dress ur characters up as rabbits for fun but then you have a lot of emotions about them losing their minds and then u gotta draw them losing their minds while dressed as rabbits... anyway Jack being mind-controlled did NOT help Sammy hold onto his mental stability at this nightmare party in case you were wondering,
ANYWAY HAVE, MORE OUT-OF-CONTEXT QUOTES, UNDER THE CUT
[Sammy is played by me, Joey is played by Boo (inkyvendingmachine), Henry is played by Maf (inkcryptid), Jack is played by Mochi (whatyouwantedmetosee) and Thren (haunted-hijinxer) is our GM!]
[GM] Joey, make a POW roll also... [Joey] Oh, boy, [GM] ...because Bendy was also told to enjoy this party, and you guys just passed a plate of food, and he wants to eat! [Jack] FEED YOUR SON! [Joey] No!!! [Henry] HES A HUNGRY BOY! [Sammy] A GROWING BOY!
[Henry] Henry will look back to see if Moonlight is trying to follow them! [GM] He will see that Moonlight has grabbed onto the railing of the stairs and is hobbling slowly down them. [Joey] *extremely evil-sounding cackling*
[Jack] All Cthulhu Official Dice actually come weighted, to make you fail.
[Henry] Gotta try harder than that, bitch! [Henry] ....that wasn't in character. [Jack] It's in character, but he's only thinking it. [Sammy] That's the golden text you see on the wall if you use the seeing tool
[Henry] My Luck is 68, I don't know what y'all are doing! [Jack] We're spending Luck so that we'll fail! [Sammy] BEING UNLUCKY! I've barely spent any Luck, I'm just NOT A LUCKY GUY
[Henry] Oh, Avedon's here, [GM] There's a gunshot, and he tries to shoot Fowler! [Joey] Um, well, uh, whoops!, rest in peace Fowler! [Sammy] Yeah, that'll sort itself out, let's go! [GM] Moonlight seems to reconsider from telling people to grab you guys, to grabbing Avedon instead. [Joey] Oh! THANKS AVEDON, your sacrifice will, not be thought about in the slightest!!!
[Sammy] Is... weird question, does this room look like it matches the architecture of the rest of the house? [GM] [GM] [GM] ...make a sanity check.
[Sammy] It would be a like, Come on Jack, do you know where you are, shake it off, snap out of it, kind of thing. [GM] Why don't you make a... a.... oh boy, [Sammy] One of my REALLY persuasive social skills?
[GM] This probably just registers to Jack as, Sammy griping about a party, which isn't that strange. [Jack] Yeahhhh, he wants to leave. He always does that. I wanna stay at least a little longer! [GM] That just means it's Jack's job to find them something fun and good to do. [Sammy] Oh boy, [GM] I don't think Jack is being compelled to be aggressive about this necessarily, he just feels like he's Jack at a party, doing the things Jack normally does, and trying to have a good time! [Sammy] Ah, and everyone else is being weird, [GM] Yeah! Everybody's being really weird! You're at this nice party, and now you're in this weird room? The party's back there somewhere! [Jack] I mean not that he's opposed to bein' dragged into side rooms at parties by cute boys, but,
[GM] The table looks like a table that Henry has in his house, actually. [Sammy] Have I ever been in Henry's house? These are questions I didn't expect to need to ask tonight.
[Sammy] Jack, this is weird! You see this is weird, right?! [Jack] Well yeah, it is kinda weird that we're in-- what are we doing here? [Joey] Joey is going to grab Jack's arm, and point to the next door, and go "Party is this way!"
[GM] Peter looks worried... [Sammy] Sammy looks worried too! Well, Sammy looks angry, but in a worried way.
[Joey] Joey is going to scream frustratedly. [Sammy] Is there ink in this room? [GM] There is not. [Jack] Is there a party in this room? [GM] Definitely no, only the party you bring with you.
[Joey] Joey is going to scream again. [Joey] He's also going to kick the door. He might stub his toe. [Sammy] Through all this, Joey is smiling. I just need us all to remember that. [Joey] YES. Also his tail is furiously going. [GM] Bendy is also upset! There is nothing to eat here.
[Joey] Joey is going to try to feed Bendy some ideas, [GM] He doesn't want ideas, he wants food!
[Joey] So.... what happens if you fumble a sanity roll?
[GM] See, here's the silly part. At this point, right? At this point, the best place to do the tasks you want to do, involve either getting the stone out of the room with the safe, or having the staff that Henry is currently holding. [Sammy] So you would arrive, by completely different means, to the same place that we are! [GM] Clearly Joey is inside the safe.
[Jack] Bad and naughty Joey Drews get put in the safe to atone for their sins!
[Henry] Henry is going to channel his inner Joey Drew and round the corner and say "No, sorry about him, we're just here on inspection, we need to check the safe." [Henry] Which is probably a Fast Talk, which I hope it isn't, because my Fast Talk is a 5. [GM] Unless you wanna try to turn that into a persuade somehow? [Henry] I'll do Persuade! [GM] What are you doing to persuade them, rather than just lying? [Henry] *rolls* I failed... I'm gonna push it... [Sammy] *uneasy noises* IF YOU PUSH IT AND IT GOES BAD, IT GOES WORSE [Henry] AH! HAHA! I ROLLED A SIX! [Sammy] THAT'S STILL NOT LESS THAN FIVE! [Henry] WELL IM DOING PERSUADE! [Sammy] That means you have to NOT LIE! [Henry] ....Fuck. [Henry] Okay, uh, there's an emergency, we need the contents of that safe. [Sammy] THATS STILL A LIE??? [Joey] NO actually, THAT'S TRUE! [Henry] It IS an emergency!!
[Sammy] Sammy cannot believe that this is working.
[GM] Bendy does wonder what his plan is for getting out of the safe. This does not seem like a fun party place. [Joey] Um, [Joey] Joey says it's a surprise.
[GM] Henry, the safe does indeed open! And there's a Joey! [GM] Bendy says "Oh wow!" [Henry] Henry tries his best to keep a straight face, like yes! this is exactly what he came here for! [Sammy] (Sammy is NOT keeping a straight face) [Jack] (Straight? In this party?)
[Jack] He's probably saying something like, "What are you doing, he's one of us!" [Jack] And that could go either way. That could mean "No, he's chill, I will persuade you to stop!" Or that could mean, "We are also criminals!"
[GM, as the guards] Then why does he look like the Yellow King's messenger? [Henry] *not missing a beat* We get that a lot.
[GM] Something falls from the sky and lands in front of him. And it's a person! [Joey] Is he alive? [GM] Very much not. [Sammy] How... how Illusion of Living canon-compliant is this Joey...?
[Jack] So... it would probably occur to Jack that this is weird for a party,
[Henry] Joey don't touch it! [Joey] Why not? [Henry] There's runes around it. I don't know if you can touch it. [Joey] Joey's gonna touch it. [Henry] *long-suffering sigh* If you get zapped, I'll tell you I told you so!
[Jack] Jack really wishes we were just back at the party right now, you guys... [Jack] Only bad things have happened. [Jack] Pete's traumatised, Joey's goopy, the Lurker ate all of the snacks,
[Sammy] Can I try to break free from Henry? Sammy's gonna try to run over there. [Henry] At this point, Sam can go, if he wants. [Sammy] Okay, cool. Then Sammy's gonna go and put ink in his mouth! [Henry] Goddammit. I was hoping you were going to check on Joey!
[Joey] You can’t take all of the sanity hits! You have to leave some for other people! [Jack] Says you! You got so many temps!! And an indefinite!!
[GM] Bendy probably is complaining loudly about WHY DID HE WALK THROUGH THE RUNES??? [Joey] Oh! I thought he was going to complain about the party, or lack thereof, [GM] That’s part of not having fun at the party, he’s not into that! [Joey] Well, [GM] This is not a fun party activity!!
[GM] But he doesn’t think it will destroy either of them, if you do it right! [Jack] That’s a nice, way to end that sentence,
[Sammy] Let us hurry! May I take the stone? [Joey] Joey shrugs. [Sammy] Sammy will, uh, attempt to reach inside of... whatever this is, and find the stone. [Henry] Reach INTO your LOCAL boss, and you will find A Friend And Boy,
[Sammy] Is there anything in this room that I can pick up, and then hit him in the head with? [GM] Henry has a stick... uh....there’s a projector.... [Sammy] Can I pick that up? [GM] No, you cannot. [Sammy] It would be REALLY funny if Sammy dropped a projector on someone else’s head. [Sammy] HOW THE TURNTABLES!!!
[GM] ...Can you impale with a rocking horse...???? [Sammy] I don’t want to impale, I want to knock him in the head so he passes out!!! Rest your head, it’s time for bed!!!
[Jack] I don’t think Jack has any plans after this! [Jack] I meant that in the sense that he doesn’t know what he’s doing next, but the way I phrased it, now it just sounds like he’s hitting on Fowler, like, he doesn’t have anything to do after this, are you free? That’s not canon.
[Joey] I don’t know how this will go, [Sammy] Good luck! [Joey] But Joey would like to-- [Sammy] Sammy believes in half of you! [GM] w-which Sammy? wHICH HALF?!
[Jack] I know you said “note.” But my brain at first processed that word as “milk.” [Henry] *laughing* “Did you get my milk, Fowler?” [Jack] He drank the last carton and he didn’t buy more! [Sammy] “I’m going to the store, want me to get anything? *jumps into the lake*”
[GM] Combat Jack! [Jack] *exasperated* He’s not a Combat Boy! Jack is soft and warm, like mashed potatoes!!!
[GM] Norman is wondering to Henry if he oughta be concerned about you all getting what you want out of this. [Henry] .....Maybe.

Alrighty, so this is an idea I've been having about the bartender for a while: if you remember sans' workshop, I actually thought about the idea of sans being gone, and grillby finding the key and beginning to explore the skeletons' past.
Just a random idea, and I also love how you write your stories, I can literally imagine the scenario happening❤.
Oh, I really like this one! I hope you don’t mind that I went in the angst direction with this. It turned out to be a little long and might not have been exactly what you were looking for, but I hope you like it anyway! Also thank you so much for the compliment, I’m thrilled that you can enjoy it.
I Never Knew You. I Never Will.
Word count: 2951 Warnings: Genocide route and all that entails Summary: Grillby can’t find Sans after the evacuation. When he finds himself in Sans’s lab, his world comes crashing down around him.
Preface: This takes place near the end of a genocide run. The remaining monsters have been evacuated to the True Lab by Dr. Alphys. Determined to avenge his brother, Sans left the safety of the lab to judge Frisk.
Grillby felt like he was floating as he made his way through the crowd of monsters around him. This had to be a nightmare. It couldn’t be real. He watched from outside himself as he searched the crowd for familiar faces, stumbling as he was pushed aside by a monster rushing to greet their spouse. People were calling out for each other, sobbing as they found their family members or wailing as they realized their children hadn’t made it. It couldn’t be real.
It couldn’t be.
He couldn’t see any of the Snowdin guards. Where were they?
No, he couldn’t understand, this wasn’t real.
He couldn’t find his niece. He heard someone screaming her name above the crowd and realized it was him. Where was she? Where were Grillby’s brothers, his parents? He hadn’t seen them in so long. They had to be okay.
It wasn’t real.
It couldn’t be real.
It was.
Reality came crashing down. Grillby snapped back into awareness and choked, sickened by the lingering smell of dust as sheer panic gripped him. His friends were dead. His family was dead. They’d been fine just yesterday, how could they be dead? What kind of monster- no, what thing could do this? He struggled to breathe as he felt his whole body seizing up. It was all he could do not to puke, head spinning as he leaned against the nearest wall. He couldn’t breathe, his vision was spotty, was he dying? Was this what it felt like, for your soul to break apart?
Grillby sank to his knees, trails of steam pouring from the corners of his eyes as he sobbed. Everyone he loved was dead.
No. Wait. He was forgetting someone.
Where was Sans?
The fire elemental jerked his head up, frantically scanning the crowd. Sans had been the one to come for him and tell him to evacuate to Hotland. He’d taken Grillby’s hand and told him there was no time to explain. They’d taken a shortcut to Alphys’s lab, skipping Waterfall to be sure Grillby wouldn’t get hurt by the rivers and rain. Sans told him a human was attacking every monster in sight. He told him to stay put, then left to help with the rest of the evacuation. It had only been after the fact that Grillby realized Sans had been wearing Papyrus’s scarf, and it was covered in dust.
Alphys’s underground lab had quickly filled with frightened monsters. The remaining members of the royal guard had spread the word and were getting people out as fast as they could. Sans could only take one person at a time using his shortcuts, but he still managed to get dozens of people out. Despite it all, they weren’t fast enough. The human was destroying everything in its path. They got to Waterfall, Hotland, and the Core faster than everyone could get out. Survivors started showing up covered in lingering dust.
Grillby forced himself to his feet. Sans had to be nearby. All the survivors had been moved to safety, hidden underground. There was no reason for Sans to still be searching. There was no reason for him to be anywhere but by Grillby’s side, safe and sound. Where was he?
The bartender spotted Alphys handing out blankets and walked over, desperation gripping his soul as he stepped in front of her. “Dr. Alphys, have you seen Sans anywhere? He was helping with the evacuation. He should be back by now.”
Alphys stopped in her tracks. “H-he isn’t here?” She looked around, nearly as worried by the news as Grillby. “He s-said he was taking a- a shortcut home. He was o-o-only going to grab some- some more blankets and food.”
Dread enveloped Grillby’s soul, threatening to break it. No. No, this couldn’t be happening. “Why would you let him go back out there?!”
“The h-human is, um, in New Home,” Alphys stuttered out in her defense. “Sans c-c-can teleport. He doesn’t h-have to get, um, anywhere n-near the human. It should b-b-be safe by now. I’m sure, um, h-he’s probably safe. He’ll be back any moment now! I’m s-sure of it!”
She didn’t sound sure enough for Grillby’s taste. He pushed past her, continuing his search as he went from room to room. Sans should have been back. What if he’d exhausted himself and couldn’t teleport again? What if the human doubled back, searching for survivors, and found Sans?
A flash of red caught Grillby’s eye. A long piece of red fabric was left draped on one of the medical beds. Papyrus’s scarf.
Grillby pulled out his phone, shakily picking the dusty scarf up. Surely Sans had his phone on him, right? The phone rang… and rang… and rang…
“Congrats, you’ve reached the voicemail of Sans the skeleton. Picking up the phone is too much work right now, so I probably won’t answer if you call me back. You can leave a message, but I probably won’t check my voicemail either. Just text me. Or call Papyrus. See ya.”
The fire monster wanted to cry. He called again and again and again. It went to voicemail every time. He tried texting him, begging Sans to answer…
But nobody came.
Grillby was moving towards the elevator of the lab before he truly comprehended what he was doing. Alphys saw him and rushed after him, grabbing his sleeve. “W-wait! Where are you going?”
“You said Sans was at home, didn’t you?” Grillby answered quietly. “I’m going to find him.”
“You c-can’t! It’s not safe-!”
Grillby turned around, his flames burning hotter as he snapped at her. “But it was safe for Sans to leave, was it?! Don’t be so hypocritical! If you’re truly concerned about the safety of monsters, let me go!”
Alphys fell quiet, trembling a bit. She let go of Grillby’s sleeve and hunched over. She hated being yelled at. Grillby immediately felt guilty, taking a deep breath. “I’m sorry,” he said softly, “I shouldn’t have raised my voice. I just-”
“N-no.” Alphys wiped at her eyes and adjusted her glasses. “You’re right. I sh-shouldn’t have let Sans go. Let, um, let me find a r-rain jacket for you. It will be dangerous for y-you to get through- through Waterfall on your own.”
Grillby was quiet for a moment, then just nodded, letting her leave. She came back moments later with a rain jacket, rubber boots, and an umbrella. The fire monster took them and thanked the scientist, heading towards the elevator. He didn’t say goodbye. In the situation they’d found themselves in, a farewell felt like a curse.
Grillby managed to make it through Waterfall mostly unscathed, folding his umbrella as he walked into Snowdin. The place felt like a ghost town, every window dark and every home abandoned. He tried not to think about it as he approached the skeleton brothers’ house. The door was standing open, filling Grillby with dread. He choked down another wave of panic as he stepped inside the dark living room. “Sans?” Grillby called out, voice feeling muffled by the oppressive, eerie silence. “Sans, are you here? ...god, please be here.” He pulled out his phone again as he walked up the stairs, dialing Sans’s number and waiting.
A default ringtone went off in Sans’s room.
The bartender should’ve felt relieved, but if anything, the sound scared him more than the silence. If Sans was here, why didn’t he answer the phone? Respond to the texts? Grillby tried the door and found it locked, struggling with the knob despite knowing it was useless. “Sans! Are you there?! Please, answer me!”
But nobody came.
The panic Grillby had been holding back consumed him. The fire that made up his body grew as he stepped back, leaning against the railing before moving forward and kicking down the door.
The room was empty. Sans’s phone was ringing on the bed, abandoned.
For the second time that day, Grillby found himself sobbing, kneeling on the floor as he desperately tried to force himself to breathe. This couldn’t be happening. He couldn’t have lost Sans, too. He didn’t even say goodbye. He didn’t even get to tell him…
Dizzy with exhaustion, Grillby looked up at the phone again. On the bed next to it was a piece of paper, folded around something. Dragging himself to his feet, the bartender stumbled over, sinking to the ground again as he picked it up. A key fell into his lap. It was small and silver, and it looked old. The note it had been wrapped in had a drawing of the house, with an arrow pointing to something in the back. As Grillby’s gaze drifted down to the base of the drawing, he choked on another sob.
Hey Grillbz,
If you’re reading this, you probably did something stupid like go to my house by yourself with a homicidal psychopath on the loose. Don’t worry, I get it. You did this last time, too. Anyway, this go around, I’m not gonna be here when you show up.
That key you’ve got goes to a basement behind the house. Go in there. You’ll figure out for yourself where I’ve gone.
When you do, please don’t follow me.
I love you, Grillby. I’m sorry.
~Sans
Grillby read the note over and over, crying as the implications sank in. Whatever Sans was doing, it didn’t sound like he planned to come back. Well, if he thought that Grillby wasn’t going to go after him, he was dead wrong. But first… the bartender had to figure out where Sans was going.
It had taken a minute to get the door behind the house to open. The lock was old, and it stuck for a moment while Grillby jiggled the key to get it in. It finally swung open with an echoing creak, light from outside barely able to illuminate the inside of what looked to be a small home lab of some kind.
Grillby stepped inside, drawn to the large machine in the back. The damage to the odd machine and the char marks on the floor did nothing for Grillby’s anxiety, but the lack of dust around it at least assured him that it probably wasn’t the dangerous thing Sans had been alluding to. The fire monster stepped away from it, moving towards the desk and the piles of paper there. The first thing that caught his eye was a drawer slightly ajar, something inside reflecting the light that Grillby gave off. He opened it the rest of the way, immediately recognizing the badge inside as he picked it up. “This… This is the insignia of the royal scientist. Why would he have this?” Grillby mumbled out loud. Now that he was thinking about it, why would Sans have any of this? It didn’t make any sense. Sans was a sentry, and he had been the entire time Grillby knew him. The skeleton had never mentioned living in Hotland or having a scientific career. The bartender was starting to question how well he knew his best friend, setting the badge back in the drawer and turning to the papers.
The first page was written in some sort of font that Grillby couldn’t understand. Looking at it made his hurt, so he moved it to the side, skipping over it. The next page was thankfully readable. It described something called ‘DT’, and the effects it could have on a monster’s magic if infused properly. The records of the experiments had been partially burned, but most of what Grillby could read was too complicated for him to understand. He never thought Sans was dumb, but the complicated equations were far beyond anything Grillby had seen before. He hadn’t guessed Sans had that level of intelligence, or put that level of work into any one project.
The last few pages had the most burns out of all of them. Some sections were written in that headache-inducing language, with a lot of the notes Grillby could read seemingly added later. It looked like a comparison between the effectiveness of multiple attacks before and after the use of DT. The last few notes made Grillby burn lower, nearly going cold.
In conclusion, DT can be used to temporarily increase stamina and allow a monster to use their magic more effectively, summoning attacks and creating patterns like nothing seen before. However, drawing that level of magic from a monster’s soul can cause their soul to become unstable, tearing it apart. A monster could not withstand the effects of DT long-term without turning to dust.
I could handle it, just for a little while. If it came down to it, I could use the machine on myself and keep the kid from hurting anyone else.
Papyrus… Alphys… Grillby… 🕈︎✋︎☠︎☝︎👎︎✋︎☠︎☝︎💧︎… I’m so sorry.
“No,” Grillby whispered, his eyes widening in panic. “No, no no no no please tell me you didn’t- Sans-”
Sans was going to fight the human.
No matter the outcome, Sans was going to turn to dust.
Grillby ignored the sting of the rain as he sprinted through Waterfall. He didn’t have time to worry about his HP. Sans used that machine on himself. He’d managed to build it, surely he could reverse it if Grillby just reached him in time. His mind was reeling, trying to catch up with everything he learned. Sans had once been involved with the royal scientist. Was that how he knew Alphys? And what was with that strange handwriting? Why would Sans hide it from him? The rain didn’t bother Grillby this time, but he felt a sting in his soul as he realized just how little he knew about Sans. Everything he learned about him throughout their friendship… was it all a lie? Just a cover-up for whatever Sans had done in the past? It didn’t make sense. Nothing made sense anymore.
Grillby’s footsteps echoed in the corridors of New Home as he sprinted down the main path. Alphys had said that the human was in New Home somewhere, undoubtedly heading towards the castle. If Sans were to face them, it would be there. He only hoped he could reach him in time.
Sans fell backward as he felt the human’s blade slice through his ribcage. Looking down, he watched in distant shock as blood started to seep from the wound. He knew the whole battle had been pointless… Frisk would just load their save file each time they died, coming back over and over until they killed him… but it still felt so surreal. The fight was over. Sans lost.
“Heh… heh heh…” The skeleton laughed breathlessly to himself as he looked up. The human was expressionless, uncaring. How? How could they have so much apathy, after everyone they hurt?
It didn’t matter. Sans forced himself to his feet, coughing as blood dripped from his mouth. It would be fine. Frisk would reset, everyone would come back, and then they’d die again. The warm golds and oranges of the hall began to blur together as the bloodloss made Sans woozy and he stumbled, leaning against one of the pillars. If he closed his eyes…
He could almost pretend he was sitting at a familiar bar, the bartender smiling at him as he cracked jokes and drank from a ketchup bottle.
“Welp. I’m going to Grillby’s,” Sans said weakly, tears filling his eyes.
“Papyrus… do you want anything?”
Footsteps echoed in the final hallway as Grillby ran, desperation gripping his soul. He almost ran right past it. He skidded to a stop as his mind processed what he’d seen. His mind went empty and numb, and he turned around, walking a few paces back the way he’d come.
At the base of one of the pillars was a blue jacket, sitting in a pile of dust.
Grillby screamed.
No. No, it couldn’t end like this. The fire elemental fell to his knees and picked up Sans’s jacket, wailing as he held it to his chest. When he did- God, he was covered in dust. Sans’s dust. The thought made him drop the jacket and turn away, gagging and throwing up until there was nothing left.
Grillby wrapped his arms around himself, the humidity in the room increasing as he sobbed. He thought of Sans’s smile, his jokes and laughter, the way he always winked at the end of a bad pun. Was any of that even real? Did Sans enjoy being around Grillby, or was it all a façade? Grief and betrayal settled heavily over the bartender, threatening to drown him. He dry-heaved again, choking as he desperately fought for air.
I love you, Grillby.
Grillby... I’m so sorry.
The words washed over him, pushing those feelings away. It didn’t matter. Whoever Sans had been before, it didn’t change what the two of them had. Grillby wouldn’t let it.
Grillby picked up Sans’s jacket as he stood, shaking the dust off and putting it on. The heat in the room became sweltering as the fire monster was filled with rage. That human... that human had taken so much from him. His friends, his family... the skeleton he loved. They couldn’t get away with it. He wouldn’t let them.
The fire monster walked towards the end of the hall, eyes burning with murderous rage. That human was going to pay for what they-
The world stuttered.
Grillby hummed to himself as he wiped down his bar, getting ready to open for the day. Hm, that was strange. Lifting the cloth, he noticed that it had quickly gotten fairly dirty. There was dust all over Grillby’s hands, coming off on the towel. He shrugged to himself as he wiped them off and got another towel.
It was probably nothing.
Thanks for reading! This one accidentally turned out kind of long. It’s pretty stream-of-consciousness, but I’m too busy to edit it today and I’m too eager to post it to wait.

Dunno if I'm making this a thing or if it's just the mood I'm in today.
Either way, here it is!
Another tree, another field, some more cows, a couple horses... more trees! Hitomi sighed again. This had to be the most boring drive she'd ever done. There were no buildings, aside from a few farm houses here and there, and all the other drivers on the road were clearly not from around there, simply passing through. “Now where is that turn?” she mumbled aloud, squinting at the road signs, trying to find the right county road. Finding it wasn't easy, but as soon as she turned there was a sign that directed her farther west to reach the town she was looking for. “Thirty more miles? This place really is in the middle of nowhere.” A faint sound of discomfort from the kennel next to her made her look over. “I know Jasper. We're almost there. Then you can get out.” The feline whined, turning around again and laying down. He meowed pathetically. Poor thing, that sedative really helped, but it's starting to wear off. Hitomi tried not to speed too much despite her eagerness to get to her new house. A ticket was the last thing she needed in a new place.
When she finally pulled up in front of the small house that was designated as hers, the first thing she did was pull Jasper out. She fumbled with the keys to unlock the front door, struggling with the lock a minute. Jasper yowled a little more loudly until she opened the door to his carrier. In spite of his desire to get out, the cat sat and stared out of the carrier for a long time, sniffing and peeking out of the door. Hitomi shook her head, leaving her pet to get used to the space. She went into the kitchen, fighting her way past boxes, to set out a water dish for Jasper, knowing he would be thirsty after the long trip and the effects of the sedative. “Here Jasper, come get a drink.” Unsurprisingly, she didn't hear him budge. With a sigh, Hitomi looked around the space. There was a lot to do before she could relax. Before unpacking... she needed food.
The grocery store was tiny. Hitomi wondered how it fed a few hundred people, but there wasn't anyone else in it. With the majority of the community making their living by farming, they probably mostly fed themselves, she realized. The older woman behind the counter kept eying her suspiciously. Hitomi had been eyed like that before, but it was when she was fifteen and in a convenience store where stuff got stolen all the time. She'd never stolen anything in her life, but that didn't mean the shopkeeper didn't suspect her. This was a more confused suspicion. Her first day in town and she hadn't been able to introduce herself to anyone yet. It was natural for the woman to be a little wary.
Walking up and down the aisles, she found the essentials she needed. Milk, eggs, cereal, bread. The produce didn't look the best, at least, the things not grown in that area looked a little iffy. She got what she could from the frozen aisle and then decided she was going to have to start a garden. She looked everywhere for cat food and couldn't find anything. She frowned. How could they not have cat food at the store? “Something you need help finding?” Hitomi fought the urge to jump, turning slowly to find the woman standing just behind her. Quiet old bat! She stared a moment before nodding.
“Uh, cat food.”
“Ah. Well you won't be finding that here, darlin'. You'll have to go over to the feed store. He carries all we need for our pets.” The woman's face was a little less threatening now that she was smiling. Hitomi tentatively smiled back. “You're new here.”
Hitomi's smile faltered a moment. Was it really necessary to state the obvious? “Yes. My name is Hitomi. Hitomi Kanzaki. I'm the new fifth grade teacher.” Sticking out her hand, Hitomi was surprised by the strength of the woman's hold.
“Oh! Pleasure to meet you! We've been wondering when you would get here. I'm Gladys Larson. How's the house?” Her enthusiasm was infectious and Hitomi's smile returned. The house was fine, a little old-fashioned when it came to the decorating, but she'd fix that with time. “Well I'm glad you like it. What was it you were looking for again?”
“Cat food? And I think I want to start a vegetable garden out back so...”
“Now don't you worry dear, I'll just take you right on over. Van's not used to strangers coming in and he needs someone familiar to introduce them.” Hitomi stared at the woman a moment before following her up to the counter. She paid for her things and Gladys had her put them in the big refrigerator so they wouldn't spoil while they were gone. “He's a sweet boy, a little rough around the edges though,” Gladys told her in a conspiratorial whisper as they crossed the main street and walked a few store fronts down. Hitomi glanced back at the grocery, surprised that the old woman had no problem leaving it unattended. “Here we are,” she laughed, opening a door into one of the larger stores on the street. A bell tinkled as they entered. “Van, Honey! I've brought in the new teacher. She needs cat food,” she called. Hitomi heard some shuffling and a head poked out from behind the cash register. Her eyes widened and she took a slight step back.
He was gorgeous. Hearing Gladys call him a sweet boy who was a bit rough, Hitomi had anticipated a teenager who was afraid of people and possibly had an acne problem. This man was nothing like that at all. He was tall, as she saw when he stood up, with dark shaggy hair, a strong chin and intensely brown eyes. She was startled when he frowned in her direction. “Gladys, you know where the cat stuff's at.” And that was it. He didn't try to introduce himself or ask her name. The grocer didn't seem fazed at all, leading Hitomi back toward the food. Apparently this was also the hardware store, the opposite side filled with shovels, mulch, hammers, wheelbarrows and planters.
“Don't mind him dear. It will take him a while to get used to you.”
“I can hear you...” the store owner grumbled loudly, sitting back down behind the counter.
Gladys grinned and shook her head. “Yes I know Honey. Best set of ears in town.” Hitomi bit her lip, glancing back at the counter. She found the food she needed, but she wasn't sure what to do about her gardening idea. Maybe it would be best to come back another time... like never. “That all you need dear? What about your garden?”
“I-I'll come back later once I'm more settled in. I really should get home and feed Jasper. He'll be mad. I'm sure he's freaked out in the new house by himself,” she explained.
“Oh! Poor dear. Well you just run along to my store and grab your things. There's the town social tonight, you should come to meet everyone! Seven o'clock at the hall. It's just down the street from here. Can't miss it,” she pointed down the road the way Hitomi had come in from. She nodded, thanking Gladys for her help.
Stepping up to the counter she set the bag of food down and waited. The man behind the counter seemed to be ignoring her, listening to some soft music from a radio on the floor. “Um...”
“Just take it. It's a welcome gift.” Hitomi bit her lip. He still wasn't looking up at her and she was a little offended. There was no need to be rude to her!
“Thank you. It's... it's Van right?”
He snorted impolitely. “Yea.” Waiting a moment to see if he would say anything more, she sighed when nothing else came. Taking the food and turning away from the counter, Hitomi scowled, leaving the store and marching over to the grocery store to get her things and go home. Once the two heard the sound of her car pulling away, Gladys approached the counter. “What?”
Gladys sighed, leaning on the countertop. “That's no way to treat a young lady. She was simply trying to be nice.”
“I don't need nice,” he huffed in response.
“Hitomi is very pretty. And she can't be any older than twenty-five. You're just about the only person her age.” She shifted, drawing Van's attention. “I saw the way she looked at you the moment she saw you. She thinks you're good looking, and she'd be right.”
“Knock it off Gladys,” he growled, but he couldn't hide his faint blush.
“You planning on staying single your whole life? Has to be awfully lonely...”
“You need something else?” he interrupted. The old grocer smiled slightly, taking the hint. She said her goodbyes and wandered back over to her own store. Van sagged, sighing heavily. She'd sounded young, so Gladys telling him she wasn't more than twenty-five hadn't come as a surprise. She had a nice voice, a bit unsure, but that was likely from being new in a new place. “Hitomi, huh?” He turned the radio up a little and relaxed. There wasn't going to be much of anyone else in for the rest of the afternoon. He took out a book, his fingertip smoothing across the page as he read.

YES thank you so much for this prompt i love my baybie boy
Tumblr media
04. shouji mezo / reader
————
Three knocks is all it takes before the wooden door is swinging open, revealing a very familiar face.
“Oh, you’re here!” Mrs. Shouji beams. She claps her hands together and grins nice and wide. “I wasn’t sure when you’d be arriving.”
“Yeah, sorry about that, I texted Mezo but I don’t think he saw it.” Sheepishly you rub the back of your head, your other hand occupied with the plastic bag you’d carried over from your place to his.
“No worries!” She steps aside. “Come on in. He’s just resting up for now, you can go right in.”
Your brows knit. “Would he be fine if I just… Walked in?”
Mrs. Shouji shuts the door and follows behind you as you wander to the kitchen, hoist your bag up and set it on the counter. As she helps you unwrap a very well packaged container of soup, she giggles.
“If it’s you coming in I’m sure he’ll be alright. Just don’t jump on him- he’s a confused waker.”
“I see,” The idea of Shouji awakening with that blurry, momentary confusion is a fun one to play with. Messy hair, glazed over eyes, those pensive brows. Internally you fawn over him. “Thanks for letting me over, by the way. Is he doing any better?”
Mrs. Shouji sighs and slumps her shoulders. “I’m afraid not. Yesterday he was up to eat dinner but he headed right back to sleep after he was done. Hopefully it just stays at a fever and nothing else developes.”
“That would be scary… Hopefully this helps him feel better, even if it’s just by a little bit. I hate to see him unwell…”
One of her hands reaches out, touches at your shoulder. “And that’s exactly why I’m glad he has you.”
Her statement, albeit harmless, makes you flush. This would surely be a moment that Shouji would internally gush over- his mother openly approving of you, supporting you. Even without him you feel the pride bubbling in your chest.
“T-Thank you, so much, that seriously means a lot.” You smile.
“No need to thank me,” She turns around and retrieves a bowl from the cupboard, pours the soup from the plastic container and hands it back to you after settling a spoon in the broth. “Just tell him mom says ‘hi’ when you go in.”
“I will!” Nodding eagerly, you hold the bowl. You take your leave from the kitchen and wander down the hallway to his room, stand outside and stop for just a moment. Even with his mother's blessing, you still feel strange just… Barging in without his permission. You’d wished he would have send you a confirmation message that he knew you were coming, even if it was nothing more than just a random emoji. As you reach out you hope that he doesn’t get all sorts of offended by this.
The moment you open the door you can just sense the sickness. His room is as dark as a cave, closed blinds and a tightly shut window to keep him from getting too cold. A fan for white noise sits at his nightstand and points towards his bed, and the winds rustle literally the only visible part of him: his hair. A large mass atop his bed serves as the outline of him, and you can’t help but smile at the burrow he’s created. It’s almost like a plan, buried, barely visible by the top.
You giggle despite his suffering.
But, then, you remember why he’s created his little hole and it makes you frown all over again in worry. What had started out with what he thought was allergies had turned into something worse, a fever that was rather adamant about sticking around. Exhaustion, heavy limbs (all six of them!) were his downfalls. From the moment he mentioned he wasn’t feeling very well you were worrying like a mother hen, and no amounts of his assurance could help.
This was not how he expected to spend his winter break.
“Um.. Mezo?” You whisper, using your heel to shut the door quietly behind you. It clicks just softly enough to keep him from stirring. With the curtains suppressing the sunny day outside, if not for the emptiness of his room you would have had to squint your eyes to navigate your way to him. As you draw closer, you feel yourself freezing in your place. You hadn’t seen it from afar, but the mound of white, messy hair isn’t the only part of him that's visible to you.
Even with the sickness, Shouji sleeps soundly. On his side, back facing you, he tucks his chin with the blanket pulled just above his neck. Even though you know it’s unfair to take advantage of his rest, you can’t stop yourself from looking. Your eyes, geedy and searching, trail all the way from his shut eyes down to the rest of his face, exposed for the first time. Your heart leaps in your chest at the sight of him, the first time.
His nose pushes out, strangely animalistic in it’s own way. Like a muzzle, almost. His lips stretch along the broadness of his face, and you feel a flutter in your heart. This is what he’s warned you of so many times before. All your relationship, even before you’d come close with him, he’d told you time and time again that while he understood you’d love him in any form, he didn’t like the idea of you seeing what lie beneath his mask.
But god, he was so cute. You wanted to kiss every part of him, fever or not.
A smile creeps onto your face. You reach out, gently press a hand to where you think his shoulder is, and shake him softly.
“Mezo,” You whisper. “Wake up.” While he makes a sound in the back of his throat, eyebrows knitting, he doesn’t entirely wake, so you try again. “I have soup.”
That seems to grab him out of whatever dreams he’d been casted into. His eyes open to face the wall, blinking slowly. As if in a trance, he turns to you in silence.
“…Mom?”
You giggle. “Nah, just me.”
For some reason it takes him a long, long moment to process that information. Over his shoulder he just stares at you with perplexion. You get an even better of his features and it makes you want to reach out and smooch him on his lips finally, because his hair is a mess and he just looks so damn cute with doe-full eyes that can’t quite concentrate.
“Everything okay?” Your voice falls just above a whisper, and you turn to set the soup down on his nightstand beside the fan just so you can reach out and pet over the top of his hair.
Something about the contact seems to shake him alive. His eyes widen, he yanks away from you and throws the blanket over his head in an almost childlike manner, terrified. Naturally you reach out and try to sooth the outburst, take hold of the covers and gently pry it away, but for the first time, he fights you.
“You saw…” He mumbles from beneath the covers, and you sigh.
“I saw.” As you pull away you sit down at the edge of his bed. “You made it sound like it was something of a nightmare.”
You can almost feel the way his eyebrow raises. The pregnant pause he takes make you frown. “...You don’t find it ugly?”
“…Do you?” Your brows knit as you look at him, the shape of him under the mound of blankets.
“No necessarily.”
“Then what’s the problem…?” Resting your hands on your lap, your shoulders slump. “Did you think I’d find you ugly?”
“Not ugly, but… Scary.”
It strikes you like an arrow through the heart. You’re suddenly hyper-reminded of the child he’d encountered in his youth who’d bumped into him, looked up at the hulking form of his body and didn’t cry at the shape of him, but his face, and his face alone. It hurts your heart.
You sigh sadly. “Can you look at me?”
Very slowly, cautious almost, he pulls the blankets down to his nose. Just barely can you see the slope that extends outwards. When his nervous eyes meet yours, you smile as warmly as you can manage through the sensitivity.
“I’ve told you time and time again,” You begin with a quiet voice. “That I love you no matter what you look like. You don’t have to hide from me.” Reaching out, you gently tug the blanket. “So can you please… Stop hiding?”
Even though it’s easy to see that he’d rather not, he does anyways. He brings the blanket down and awkwardly grips the fabric he surrounds himself in like it’s some sort of outlet for his anxiety.
Before he can even dream to cover himself again, you crawl closer, bring your palms to his cheeks and barely touch the edges of his lips. Your thumbs caress him. “I love all of you, no matter what. It doesn’t matter if you look like this, it’s what makes you, you.”
“And my face… It… That doesn’t scare you?”
Your heart hurts again. “Of course not. You’re not a scary person, Mezo. You’ll never scare me off, especially with something like how you look. Besides,” The corners of your lips rise. “Now, I can do this.”
There’s a moment of silence, uncertainty. He stills himself and wonders what’s to come, and you beat him to any sort of punchline.
The kiss is chaste, barely there, but it’s a milestone paved of gold. Fever be damned, you peck his lips and pull away with a shy smile while your heart does flips in your chest.
He flushes all the way from his ears to his neck and there’s no way the fever had made him that red. You giggle, he touches his lips with one of his hands and blinks at you.
“I know you’re sick and all,” You start, “But I couldn’t help myself. You’re just so cute.”

Chapter 9
Kihyun
After the stunning revelations of the night before, I was having a slow day at work. It wasn't that I was off by much, but that I was exhausted, so I was a little slow on the uptake.
It was nearing three when we wrapped up recording for the day. Generally, we have more stuff to do, but today was an easy day. We were released to the dorm, and I went to go grab a nap. Sadly, though, all I could do was twist and turn. I decided to get up and read the next chapter.
Bryn PoV
It had been a few weeks since I talked to anyone. I had sent Kihyun's money back the very next day, slightly afraid it wouldn't make it. But seeing his face on my phone three hours later had me smiling.
"Hey! What's up," I asked.
He sighed. "Did you seriously send it back already?"
"Yep."
"Why," He asked. "Anyone else would have kept it."
"But I'm not anyone else. I hate asking for help. If I ask for anything, I never ask for money."
"Why," he asked.
"I make enough to be comfortable."
"Comfortable, huh? What's comfortable?"
"Pay the bills and have a little left over. Out of curiosity, why do you ask?"
"Just wondered. There is so much more I want to ask, but I-I'm not quite sure how to ask."
I laughed. "It's always been my experience, that it's better to just get it out there."
He swallowed, thickly, "Umm. Ok. Uh. What do you do?"
After taking a deep breath, I answered, "I own a yarn shop and I am a Natural Health Consultant."
"Wow," He whispered. "What does a Natural Health Consultant do?"
I chuckled. Most people wanted to know about the shop, not my degree. "I-um-I work with peoples primary care physician to get folks the best healing possible. It's generally in the cases of heart disease, diabetes, and stubborn skin rashes," I laughed.
"Now, that is cool," he smiled. "So, is it just a side hustle?"
"No," I laughed, "But most people don't see a Traditional Naturopath, they see an N.M.D. However, most integrated medicine places here have at least one natural health professional they work with, depending on the clients needs."
"Wow. You really are more than just a pretty face."
"Who told you I have a pretty face?"
"Joey let me see pics. You're beautiful, by the way."
I could not help the blush that slowly spread across my face. "Thank you. I think you are pretty handsome, yourself."
"Aww," he gushed, "No, I'm not."
"Agree to disagree, there, Sweet Pea."
"Joey," he asked.
"Joey," I agreed.
He chuckled, "Do you get the feeling he's trying to set us up?"
Laughing, I answered, "I do. But I think he may be right. You know he sees stuff, right?"
"Yeah, I know. I was the first person in our group he told. Oh God. Umm. I need to be honest. I'm not sure how to say it, so I will just lay my hand down here. I-uh-I-um-I have dreamed about you since I was a kid."
I could tell he was biting his lip.
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Tell me something no one else would know.
"Ok," he started. "Um-You have nightmares where you are lost in the woods and screaming for someone."
"How did you," I started.
"I have them, too; but from the other side. I can hear you screaming but I can't seem to find you."
"Haka," I asked, softly, tentatively.
"Hey," He answered.
If I hadn't been sitting at my desk, I would have been on the floor. "Oh, God," I whispered. After a pause, I said, "I don't know whether to scream, cry, or throw up."
He laughed. "Well, hopefully none of those things. Please don't scream, hearing it in dreams is bad enough. Please, don't cry, because I'm not there to fix it. And Please, God, Please, don't throw up."
"Sympathetic puker?"
"Yes," He answered. "I want to see you."
"Not a good idea. Not with what is going on in the world, right now."
"True. A year from now? I hate to try to plan that far ahead, but maybe, just maybe, things will work out."
"Well, there is normally a convention in Hawaii in early summer."
"I will try to save as much PTO time as I can between now and then. Cross your fingers and hope."
"Fingers crossed," I said.
"I've got stuff to do, so I will talk more later, Ok?"
"Sure, I answered.
"I'm gonna say this, and please don't freak out, but I have felt it for a long time and," He rambled.
"Haka," I yelled, cutting him off. "I know. I already know," I said before I bit my lip. "I know how you feel, trust me, I do. I feel it, too. You aren't crazy, nor are you alone." I swear I could feel his smile and his relief. "But, my dear, I am nothing to write home about."
"Are you kidding me," He started, "I have been in love with you since I was 15. Woman, I could write volumes about you, and still have several lifetimes worth to say. You, Woman, You are amazing."
Blushing, I replied, "I don't see how."
Kihyun PoV
I could feel her blushing. "Then I will keep telling you until you have no doubts. You are amazing, you are awesome, and I," I stopped.
"I know," she whispered.
"Good," I replied.
I started to nod off so I set the story off to the side for the night, and got ready for bed. She curled up behind me and snuggled into the back of my neck.
'Night, Haka. Rest well, my King.'
'Night, Mami.'
I was so focused on sleep, I did not notice the slight tickle in my chest that happens with her sometimes. If I had, I would have felt the slight sorrow and could have held off the nightmare that night.
As it sat, she came and tucked me in as usual, but a few hours after I had fallen asleep in her arms, I had the worst nightmare.
I was, again, in those woods, and this time I was the Elk. She was there and that band around her ankle had her trapped. She was screaming as the band and rope that had her hobbled became razor wire cutting into her skin. I could not do a thing to help her.
But, my blind panic and pain must have ruffled the thread between us because in that moment, as I made my decision to lay down with her for support and comfort, I felt her spirit beside me, soothing me and telling me, 'It's just a dream, Love. I am here. Wake up, Haka, it's just a dream.'
In my state of half asleep and still with the residual images in my head, I rolled to where I felt her, and curled around her.
Her touch was both soothing and calming. 'Tell me what you saw?'
I shook my head as echo's of the images assaulted me again. I could still smell her blood in the air. I could still feel her fingers scramble for purchase on my pelt as she struggled to stand, could still hear the echo of her screams as the razors went deeper into her skin.
'I'm going after Joey. I'll be right back, my love. Hold on,' I heard her whisper in my hair.
In less that 20 seconds, a firm hand was on my arm. I had no more than sat up.
Honey POV
I was sound asleep when I felt a small but strong hand on my arm. 'Joey, Wake Up,' was all but shouted in my ear. I knew that voice. My sister. The fog stubbornly refused to lift.
'C'mon. Get up, Lu-Lu! Kik needs you,' was shouted as an outer presence shook my arm.
I was up and off like a rocket at that. She is the only person I will EVER allow to call me that version of 'Red'. And I know that her calling me that in the middle of the night means right now. I took off down the hall, following the sobs.
There was Kihyun, sitting on his bed, tears pouring down his face. I recognized the panicky look on his face as one I had seen on my own several times. I felt the presence of my soul sister, her spirit sweeping past me to settle next to him. He seemed to sag against her spirit, drawing strength and serenity from her. I couldn't hear the conversation, but I knew, somehow, she was soothing him.
It hit me then, just how perfect they are together. I could almost see his head resting against her shoulder as her arm was around him, petting him, in a fashion.
He suddenly shook his head and said, "No. I don't even want to think about it or what it means. Cause if it means that they are gonna hurt you before you get away..." he trailed off, as he shook his head. Then he near shouted, "No. It's a chance I won't take. I won't allow you to sacrifice yourself like that. Not for me, not again."
Then, I heard her again, 'Then tell him or I will.'
He sighed and whispered, "Alright, my love. I'll tell him." Looking at me, he said, "Best get everyone up, I only want to tell this story once. Seeing it once was enough."
Everyone got woken up and gathered in the living room as Kihyun settled into an easy chair with a pillow and a blanket.
From the far end of the couch, Min growled, "What happened, and why are we all awake?"
From his chair, Kihyun answered, "Another nightmare. She thinks I should share this one with you."
As they all sat back, Kik seemed to turn his head slightly and nod then whisper, "Love you, Ghost."
The unseen presence in the room swept off and left us.
I looked at him curiously.
"She went back to her place to handle some things there with the kids," he sighed and started, "Tonight, as I laid down to sleep, I cuddled with my Queen like I normally do. There is a thin silver thread that connects our souls, much like the red thread, but far older. I didn't notice the small flutter of her sorrow, and somehow, unconsciously, it became a nightmare.
"I have had nightmares before of her being trapped in the woods. This time, I was an elk. And while the normal vines were gone this time, there was this black band around her right ankle that attached to a rope and had her more or less hobbled to that bit of earth.
"As I came up on her, she was fighting to get it off. I leaned forwards to help her but the second I got within, I'd say a foot or so, it turned into razor wire and was cutting her foot off.
"I couldn't do anything to help her, and she could not get loose. The more she fought to loosen it, the tighter it got. Then, as she scrambled to hold on to me, I could smell her blood. She wrapped her hands in my pelt and was trying to stand, but the razors cut her deep. I could hear and feel her screaming. As I settled in next to her to offer what comfort I could, Her spirit woke me up. When it became obvious, I needed a bit more help, she woke up Honey. I have never been so afraid for her."
Min stood up and directed him back to bed, saying, "Go get a bit more sleep," as he left the room. When Min returned, he asked me, "What did you see about her?"
"Other than the way she sat? Not much. She is damned good at cloaking. So good she is damned near a chameleon."
"Do you think she would come back and let us see," asked HyunWoo, his brow knotted with worry.
I nodded, "She might."
Min sat down on the rug, between the coffee table and the entertainment center. "If we are going to help our soul sister, we had best get comfy, it may be harder than we think to fix it."
About that time, a presence entered the room.
'He's back to sleep. I figured you would want to talk to me.'
I nodded. 'Let Min see your ankle.'
I have never seen Min turn that exact shade of green before turning that shade of red. When he does, it generally means it is BAD.
'What the hell, Sis! Are you actively trying to make yourself lame,' Min shouted. 'There is a curse here. This is beyond my help. Stay here, I need to go get Ate,' Min said as he stood up.
Ten seconds later, He and HyungWon were walking into the room.
A second after that, Kihyun was scrambling back down the hall.
HyungWon was looking at Sis's ankle when Kiki opened his eyes enough to see what was going on.
'Baby, what's wrong?'
'Joey wanted Min to check out my ankle. Min went after Ate,' she said.
'This curse is very powerful. It will take all of us, together, to break it. Boys, get ahold of it. Kihyun, hang on to her,' he said before yelling for Changkyun.
When he rounded the corner at a run, HyungWon said, 'Mahipiya. Washte. IkiyA nitha Ate kichi Ina.'
Changkyun gathered the woman in his arms and nodded at her whisper, before growling at Kihyun.
"What?" asked HyunWoo.
"That is your nephew."
"Of course he is," HyunWoo grumbled as he sat up, only to be cuffed in the back of the head by HyungWon.
"We have bigger things than your sister's descendants to handle. Unfortunately, I fear this will be too much for us to handle,' He said as he sat back and grabbed his phone, sending out a quick text.
In less than 15 minutes, Hoseok was knocking on the door.
'Ahh. Glad you could make it on such short notice," HyungWon said as he opened the door.
A/N)--
Once again....I tried with the Lakota.
Mahipiya. Washte. IkiyA nitha Ate kichi Ina.--Cloud. Good. Help your father with your mother.

Laize { A New Character }
.
.
Hey guys! So um, get ready because This is gonna be a long post due to how many images I'm going to insert and how much about this piece I have to say :). So recently I've been dabbling a lot in my art style and experimenting (as I've mentioned a lot in my previous posts). Currently I'm trying to develop my style to a more solid one. Like my posts before, the style I refer to is that really BJD inspired art style. However I like the idea of being able to do more than one style. And I noticed in a few artists I really like (specifically in their Commissions stuff) they sometimes have two or three style you can choose to get from them (not including chibi). And I thought hey that's a pretty neat idea! But I barely have one style in place so how could I possibly start trying to do another? So I figured I'd focus on two, the BJD inspired one, and one that's more..what I'd call pointy and geometric? Basically the second style I'm going for is inspired by Jhonen Vasquez (the creater of Invader Zim and Johnny The Homicidal Maniac for those who don't know, just search up either of those and you'll immediately see and maybe recognize his style), and kind of Tim Burton cause why not? I picked those two styles specifically for me to focus on, because I noticed that whenever I doodle I tended to always draw something that leans towards a BJD anime-ish style or a pointy geometric sketchy style. I feel for me personally this is the best way to develop my skills a little more ^=^ and with this piece I also feel like It worked out extremely well!

A bit about Laize
So Laize is a character I decided to make recently for some very specific reasons. Normally, I don't do a lot of vent art. The reason being because when I do, I never feel like the characters I use for it and what not fully express whatever I'm feeling. I tend to vent more through writing things as a result but I always feel this yearning to vent through drawings and doodles too. Even when I use myself as the drawings subject it just never feels fully right. So I decided why not instead, make a character the can represent some of the things I struggle most with. I'm an extremely anxious person, my anxiety can be off the scale in the blink of an eye and it doesn't take much at all for something to cause me to start shaking. So my anxiety is one of the biggest struggles I have in my daily life, and also one of the hardest things for me to express fully. This character is meant to help with that. I guess you could say they are a venting OC? But I personally wouldn't call them that, see I feel like they are much more. I do plan to use them for things other than vent art anyways. But it's a character meant to be more personally and more self identifying to me (but still not a self insert either btw. They aren't supposed to actually be me). Also, I'm sure you've noticed my use of they/them pronouns, that is due to my decision of making them nonbinary (like myself). I felt it was appropriate for a character this important and this personal yknow? Anyways that's all the info I can give about them for now~

I'm browsing through your blog (and loving it!!!) and omg I've enjoyed your Flower shop / Tattoo artist AU so MUCH! There was just something about it, so soft and calming and pretty
aaaaahhh THANKS!! i’m really happy that you liked it! that’s one of my favorite AUs as well, and i think about nei’s beautiful art for it all the time ////// i think even now the innocence and unabashed shoujo-ness of that au is itself like a peaceful garden for me haha, i’m glad that it could calm you too!
some time back i also had another similar au, this time with flower-tattooed touka college student and young grad student/teacher haise….hm, i guess i never posted that here. i’ll go ahead and do that now just in case you’re interested!
maybe this time, a transient summer romance. touka is struggling a bit and retaking some courses in the summer (or maybe taking a cram school?), whereas haise is a grad student (…..or teacher), seemingly successful but maybe secretly in a low point of his life. questioning his life choices and etc., teaching part-time literature but also working at a flowershop to make ends meet.
maybe touka drops by to use the flowers as reference for paintings and haise is really impressed by her discipline, but then is surprised that she has N O NE when it comes to the class that he teaches her. in their tutoring sessions, he finds himself staring at the colors on her skin ((like in the previous au)).
anyway anyway anyway….eventually he learns they are tattoos of flowers. he is initially, SHOCKED. “how could you do that…”touka is defensive, covers up her arm again. “do what?”“i mean…” flabbergasted haise. “what if you realize later that you made a mistake and want to take it back?”touka’s eye is sharp. the slight kindness he had warmed out of her out of many days is iced over.
“even if i did happen to think it was a mistake….i would live with it. which is what everyone has to do, with everything. the only place where life is perfectly plotted out with no error is here.” furiously, she pushes his books back at him, and then leaves.
eventually…they gently make up. touka’s warmth returns, and haise begins to rethink his life. soon, touka passes the class/test/whatever, and they both smile at each other in celebration, as well as with……..a tiny stab of sorrow. that means that touka is off now, to pursue her dreams, elsewhere.
so…..touka has some days remaining. haise is no longer teaching her, but as she bows to him and starts to walk away, he chokes out something – an invitation – maybe – to have, um – coffee? with him sometime?? touka smiles at him. “ok. but…”
she has plans, for a new tattoo. but she can meet after, and is free for the rest of the week too. he is curious about it but doesn’t ask. the rest of that week they meet every day for coffee, and finally, on the last day, touka invites haise to her apartment ((nii-san is gone)). shakily he undresses her as gently as he would any of his precious stories and names and kisses every flower that he sees. finally, touka sits up to show him her shoulders, both of them completely covered with bandages taping them up. she tells him that he can remove them, and he gently peels them off, revealing….
branches full of cherry blossoms ///// covering her shoulder blades like wings. still just a little red and shining with their newness, but a gentle pink. the flower that he told her over and over again stood for a short-lived life ending helplessly at its prime. suddenly, he is overcome with the idea that this marking on her, is because of him. their many evenings together, reading quietly, sometimes laughing. he has never been that way to anyone before, and he kisses her and draws her into his arms.
a relationship between them is something bound to not last long, due to their situations…but for the first time, he thinks…. it’s ok. even if it ends, even if it’s a mistake…it’s okay.
their slow night together then, wanting to savor every millimeter and second with each other. haise continuing to trace every marking on her body even after she falls asleep against him, wanting to remember every stroke and curve.
the next morning…their parting. as sharp as a stab, even though they are both smiling at each other. haise watches the train go off into the distance, trying not even to blink. he watches until even the sound of the train is gone.
((and then hopefully……….they actually do meet again. maybe at a conference of their different schools? and maybe then everything is fine after all lmao))

Weekend Fun
Clare: smiled at Dakota and then glanced at Stacy when she spoke. She nodded. "Okay. That makes sense, I just think I'm the one who is getting to better end of the bargain." She didn't elaborate because Dakota already knew how miserable things were at home right now and she was trying to keep Stacey out of it. "It will be. There's no point in rocking the boat until it becomes necessary." She didn't know when that was going to be. Once she turned 18, her parents wouldn't be able to use the whole Dakota having custody of a child thing to keep them apart because Dakota would no longer be a minor either and they'd no longer have a stay so in who she dated anyway. Clare knew she couldn't wait that long to tell them though. She would only be turning 16 this year. "Dad won't be home." She promised. If she had to she could tell her parents an abridged version of why Josephine couldn't come over when he was there but it probably wouldn't be necessary to complicate things further. Clare smiled at Stacy and Dakota, and nodded in agreement. Then she looked at Dakota's mom curiously when she said she was going to adopt Josephine. From what his mom was saying it might be what was best for Josephine but who knew how Josephine really felt. Family matters were complicated. If Dakota considered Josephine his sister and his mom agreed, it changed things in her mind though. Her parents couldn't dispute whatever 'story' Clare told them. Adoption was actually something her parents advocated for and respected so Clare didn't forsee them asking nosey questions about that if it were true. Not that she should be thinking about herself right now. Josephine needed out of a bad situation. Clare shrugged to say that was fine when Dakota said she'd be sleeping in his room whenever she slept over. She doubted Dakota was ready for a physical relationship after everything she'd learned about him today and he knew she wasn't. It might be uncomfortable sharing a bed but they'd get used to it. Plus she wouldn't be staying the night often. At first she was confused when they started talking about a grandmother. She didn't know their grandmother lived with them. She got why having her there full time might not be great, Clare couldn't handle more than a few weeks at a time with her grandma. Then Clare got it, their grandmother died and they thought the room was haunted. Clare couldn't help laughing. "No, I don't need to be brave and go in there. I've seen Poltergeist a dozen times so the TV cutting on by itself is kind of creepy..." She playfully poked Dakota's shoulder. "How am I supposed to impress your grandmother if I sleep in your room though, she might come in there and throw a shoe at me." Her eyes widened when Emi talked about the deceased old lady giving her candy. If she wasn't actually haunting her own room she'd obviously left a lasting impression since her family was taking good care of the room and everything in it. Clare smiled sheepishly. "Right of course not, I should've thought of that. How do tourists find their way around? We might have a really hard time even with Emi's help and a Japanese dictionary app. Of course we should be able to use our phones to get directions in English. Hopefully." She looked at the paper. Clare knew the Japanese used symbols instead of words in their language. But she certainly hadn't known what it was called or how the symbols looked. "This is really cool Emi. I've never seen anything like it." Clare told her. "How does learning sounds work? Still, it was very clever of you to figure out how many strokes you needed. You're good at drawing." Clare didn't think she would be able to learn much Kanji. French was hard enough to learn and they had the same alphabet. "I believe it, I knew the languages they use in places like Japan and China was more complex than ours and the hardest to learn but jeeze." She exclaimed to Dakota. "I don't know how I feel about octopus. Have you tried it Emi? I might like it better than I would Sushi. I hate fish so raw fish doesn't really sound appetizing to me." She admitted. "Besides if it's grilled I know they at least took the eyes out. I'm not sure about the tentacles though. Food aside, it sounds like so much fun!" She grinned. "Good idea, I bet there's a lot more to do and I wanna dance with you." Clare said shyly. If she was going to have on pretty robes they shouldn't go to waste. "I can't wait. I hope I don't embarrass you too much, Emi, because I'm going to be taking lots of photos." She chuckled. "Okay fair point. What was Time Square like, were they filming anything? But the toy stores always looked really cool on Home Alone 2, were they like that?" No wonder he got lost. "I don't need pom-poms just clapping. Aww a banner would be nice, no one's ever done that for me before." Clare beamed at him. She was lucky to have a thoughtful boyfriend. "Do you like robots?" She asked Emi hopefully. Clare returned the chaste kiss before raising an eyebrow at Dakota. "But we weren't even dating until today, someone must've been pretty confident I would say yes." She teased him. Clare kissed him again. She hadn't even known he liked her and would never have dreamed of going on a date with him. Clare followed Dakota when he carried Emi out to the car. "Of course." She said quietly. "I know where the kitchen is now so I'll put them in the icebox." Clare buckled her seat belt and reached for Dakota's hand.
Kota: nodded at Clare's words as she spoke about Jos and her parents. "She won't throw a shoe at you. She's only ever hit Bren alive and dead." Dom stated. "Let's not talk about Bren until he passes." his mom said and they nodded. "You don't really need to make an impression on her. She doesn't leave her room. Never has, so if you don't go in there, you're fine." Kota stated honestly. "I never met her and I don't plan to. I also stay in Dallas' room a lot." Stacy assured. "Plus part of Grandma's always with us." Dom said honestly. "Not really, that part of her is always in my closet. Like I want Grandma with me when I use the bathroom." Kota stated. "Part of her is in my purse." Kelly shrugged. "Am I the only one that keeps part of her with me?" Ash asked and Kota looked around. "Apparently." Dom answered. Kota listened as Clare asked Emi questions and wondered if she could answer them, though he knew if she couldn't he would. "Um..." Emi trailed off looking for words. "You know how you learn the ABC's then the sounds the letter's make?" Emi asked. "We do something like that. We learn our alphabet and the sounds they make. The symbols change when you form words just like the sounds of the letters in the ABC's change." she tried explaining and wrote " す し" on a paper and showed it to Clare. "That's the sound for Sushi. The first symbol makes the shu sound." she said and took the paper back only to write "寿司" on a paper, then showed Clare again. "And that's sushi when it's written out. I memorized the symbols off a restaurant that way I'd know momma was getting sushi for dinner." she explained. "The sounds are easier and we learn them first. We don't fully learn how to write until we finish middle school since there are over a thousand symbols that take so long to learn." she huffed the last part and thanked Clare about her drawing. Hearing her ask if she had octopus she nodded. "I only had it fried. I watched someone try to eat it still living and it looked dangerous, they couldn't get the octopus out of their mouth." she explained. "I won't eat it at restaurants because they serve them whole and they dance when you put soy sauce on it. Momma got mad because I liked to make them dance so much and wouldn't eat them." she shrugged. "As for sushi, you need to try a California roll, no fish." Kota said looking at Clare. "It's rice, seaweed, fake crab, and avocado." he added and looked at Emi. "Everyone already takes a lot of photos so it's not embarrassing." she smiled at Clare. "Yea, they were just like they were on Home Alone 2, they weren't filming when I was there though." he explained. "Everything is huge in Time Square including the pizza." he added. "I haven't seen a robot. They were only in Tokyo." She stated honestly as she ate her food. "I was hoping you'd say yes." Kota smiled into the kiss. Once Emi was buckled in, Kota held Clare's hand the entire ride home. As soon as they got home, Kota smiled and unbuckled Emi and watched everyone get out of the van. "Um, can I carry Emi?" Stacy asked catching Kota off guard and to look at her. "The light in the house is on. I really don't want to deal with Bren." Stacy whined a bit causing Kota to get out of the car and look at Dallas when he stepped by them. "Is Bren home?" he asked curiously. "No, mom's inside and there's no yelling." Dallas assured causing him to sigh in relief. "Thank goodness he's not coming home." he said honestly. "I agree." Stacy sighed in relief as well as Kota lead Clare inside. He could immediately hear his mom fiddling with stuff in the kitchen and walked there holding Emi and Clare's hand still. "Bren got expelled." his mom said honestly. "I'm putting him in public school with Ash." She added and Kota looked behind him to see Ash. "I want videos. Lots of videos." he stated. "Anyway they didn't say when they're sending Bren home. Clare, if you're here feel free to hit Bren as much as you want want." His mom stated as she started to bake. "He was switched at birth." Kota stated. "Sadly he wasn't, I did a DNA test the moment you boys came up with that theory. Mom and I started to believe he really was switched at birth." Kelly said and Kota shifted Emi a bit. "I'll take her, thinking about Bren coming home is blowing my mood. Cuddling with Emi tonight will take my mind off it, just get me her pajamas." Kelly said to Kota and he let go of Clare's hand to get Emi's pajamas for his sister. Once he got back he handed Kelly the pajamas and took Clare's hand. "I'm done with worrying about Bren coming home. We have one day of peace left and I plan on spending it with Clare and Emi. I'll worry about what to do with him after he comes home." Kota stated and started to walk to his room with Clare, picking up the bag for her as they walked. Once they got to his room, he shut the door behind them and took off his slippers, then his shirt. "The bathroom's right here." he said opening a door that has a sign that has Japanese writing on it. "The sign says bathroom since Emi mistook the closet next to it for the bathroom since the doors are the same." he said honestly as he stepped inside and took out a small box. "There are tooth brushes in here, take your pick, we don't have pink though." he said knowing there were all the other colors but pink and a lot of styles and brands. "I'll be out here when you're done." he said and shut the door behind him as he left. While he was waiting for Clare to finish, he changed into his pajama bottoms and got a blanket for Clare, then laid on his bed and covered up in his black blanket.
