What's boring you about the fandom? Sorry to hear you're struggling with that at the moment.

Just wanted to say though, it is normal to go through stages of fixation and ambivalence, especially if it feels like you might have plumbed the most exciting depths of your preferred niche. (I have felt like that so many times in other fandoms lol...) Maybe it's worth exploring other parts of the fandom, you might find something that ignites your passion again. Alternatively, if you need a break or feel the need to branch out, do it. The fandom will still be here when you feel like engaging again.

(Also, if you feel like it sometime, please tell us more about your minis and joytoy figs. Are they named? Do they have backstories?)

I'm not bored. I'm just having a severe "old man yells at cloud"-moment, like I do semi-regularly. 😉

When I came to the Tumblr-branch of Warhammer-fandom it felt so very exciting - artists and writers regularly got 80 to over 100 notes in a few days on their texts and pics (not just memes and/or shitposts, mind you! The real stuff!) - and not just likes, a lot of reblogs, comments and so much discussion! So many HC were developed here for everybody to see and to participate.

But this all changed. No fire nation, though.

I'm getting a bit tired of saying it over and over myself, but in my opinion it still is true: Discord is slowly killing fandom-permanence. Discord isn't good for conserving things. Ideas vanish. Pics get consumed like fast food and digested just as fast, leaving no nutritional value for viewer or artist. Thoughts get lost, because they wander down the chat-drain and vanish into nothing. HCs get no engagement, fade and die.

The slow, ugly decay of Twitter didn't help. A lot of new people not getting how Tumblr is supposed to be played and take the easy way out to Discord, too.

A Tumblr-blog is a very intimate showcase of a person's journey as a fan. It's like a geological slice of their interests and thoughts. I love that. I want to keep that. I want to get to know other fans. And not the shallow, fleeting way of Discord.

Yeah, as I said - old man yells at totally uncaring cloud. I can't stop time. I have to adapt or remain behind.

And the other thing is my "ceterum censeo" of being bitter about people just paying attention to Primarch-content and don't care about the guys from second row who are in my opinion so much more interesting and colourful. And if they get the spotlight it's just some meme-shit or being waifu'd to hell and back.

I love being silly about characters I like. I love making up shitty sidestories, silly AUs and other absolutely hilarious OOC-stuff. But if that's all that remains from a character, that's just sad.

I need way more Credible Hulks who love quoting the books as much as I do, around me!

But anyways, I'll come around.

That I had quite a few not so very good books this year didn't help either. I need both the Eidolon- and the Xantine-book to be good, next year! And St. Martin better NOT writing any shit about Lucius attacking Fenris (I mean, WTF, St. Martin! That short story was the worst you ever wrote, man!).

I wanted to know what was your favorite French meme

This one. We post it, most of the time on Twitter, when someone wrote something particularly stupid, didn't understand the topic or blatantly lied:

"But...you wrote a bunch of nonsense!"

"Why ? Is it bad ?"

"Yes, you have to think a bit beforehand."

I love it because it's particularly petty. From the absurd dialog to the childish font to the little characters, I think it conveys all the condescension you need to answer stupid people on the internet.

There's also another a meme that I find fascinating by what it created artistically. I don't like it per se but its various iterations are quite interesting. So, it started by a screenshot from the show C'est mon choix (It's my choice) and the quote "il a pas tort" ("he's not wrong") from the guy on the left (a completely misogynistic a-hole who found no problem in the fact that the girl's BF wanted to leave her (or left her?) because she was "too fat". )

The frame of the guy saying "he's not wrong" became a meme ...

...and was posted every time, you guessed it, that someone was saying something where they were "not wrong" (often used to play devil's advocate about something a bit problematic, though). Except that, people started to "meme the meme" and to simplify the picture to the extreme. At first, it was just by illustrated versions of the original meme:

Illustrations that, with time, became more and more abstract...

...and not even posted with the mention "he's not wrong" because everybody knew what it was all about. The simplification carried on so much that color palettes and strokes were enough to convey the meme:

The joke carried on to the point where objects were enough to symbolise the meme. Sauce pans, sneakers, bags, lights even pics of a river...

...they would all make us go

...whenever a "he's not wrong" pic was appearing on the screen. Long story short, this thing is our "Loss.jpg", I guess. What I posted here is just A TINY fraction of all the versions that were made in the past 2-3 years, it's crazy. It's a bit less popular at the moment but I still see it from time to time on Twitter.

Speaking about memes, I also love all the memes coming from the show Kaamelott, absolute French classic!

1. The character everyone gets wrong

So Hob Gadling is only a minor character in the Sandman comics and show. An important character, but still minor. We know so little about him, but fandom has definitely run with him and transformed him into something he absolutely is not in canon. Canon Hob is not a hero, he's not your super supportive liberal justice warrior. The comics make clear he is usually on the wrong side of history. He's not even really a nice person.

And I LOVE that fandom has got him wrong. Because fanon Hob is so much better. Also, there is no reason why canon Hob cant become fanon Hob, since we know so little about him and he has such a rich and full history that we have only glimpsed over the centuries. There are so many ways to shape his story around canon to make him more sympathetic in canon and thats totally okay! Keep playing with your fave Sandman blorbo fandom, its awesome what you are creating with him.

3. Screenshot or Description of the worst take you've seen on Tumblr

Lol I have been on tumblr a long time and have seen some dreadful takes, but keeping to Sandman fandom since that's my primary interest right now. The worst take is a recent one, and it comes from the Sandman Companion rather than fandom. If you follow me for Sandman meta you've probably seen me discussing this extensively over the past few days with @so-i-grudgingly-joined-this-site . Dream is not a rapist or abuser in canon. I have really enjoyed discussing this point because it has actually helped me feel even more sympathetic towards Dream. It goes to show how important fandom is when it comes to discussing our fave stories that we can help lift each others spirits and find the good takes and be able to carefully consider and confidentally dismiss the bad takes. Everything is open to interpretation, but some interpretations are better than others, and fandom got it right here where actual published Sandman analysis failed.

13. Worst blorbofication

I gotta say my boy Dream. He's a terrible blorbo! Such a divisive figure! Sad wet cat of a man! Poor little meow meow to the extreme!

I think fandoms treatment of Dream of the Endless is hilarious and brilliant and hope it never stops. Fandom has transformed him into a grade A blorbo for bullying purposes and I'm here for it. He's like all those "sorry I put your boyfriend in a blender" type memes combined. He's constantly called out for his skinny white boy 2005 emo aesthetic myspace profile playing The Cure on repeat eyes always red with unshed tears entire persona and yeah its terrible. I fucking love it.

My only complaint is he's too good at being pathetic. He never wins any of the blorbo polls. Because hes too pathetic to even beat someone as pathetic as Howl Pendragon! Honestly! Fandom needs to step up and make him a bit more blorbo shaped so he actually starts winning some shit! ;-)

tng update time. last night we watched "datalore" together and this morning i caught "angel one" on my own

datalore: not terrible!! i felt really bad for data the entire time of course. kind of delighted to find out he is amnesiac-adjacent in this episode, at least as far as not knowing where he comes from or why. i've gotten used to thinking of him as friend-shaped but lore reminded me of just how creepy he actually does look because he was making the creepy faces

the planet and lab were cool though it was hilarious that one of the pieces was just an ass with the crotch faced away from us to protect data's modesty lol

i liked the bit about data having an off switch.it is ironically such a human vulnerability. we have those too! it's called head trauma.

ik what i said about picard not being a dick anymore but i noticed he IS still a dick sometimes and it's mostly to either wesley (valid) or data (may he DIE). i was glad data told him not to call lore "it" and that he APOLOGIZED. he should apologize to data more often

lore is literally just a data who is better at masking btw. like thats all it is. he thinks using contractions makes him allistic and he's like ha ha look at me i'm better than you meanwhile he has to use a little laser to remove his own facial tick and his special interest is murdering humans and good for him

one thing i HATED about this ep was once again wesley made a valid point and everyone told him to fuck off. meanwhile whenever hes fucking around they let him do whatever he wants. this is making me CRRRAZY. all this stuff about you would have listened to me if i was an adult!! i'll kill the little brat myself

however the episode was immediately rescued by the appearance of this meme:

which sent me immediately into screaming hysterics because i was NOT expecting to see it in its original format here. i quite literally had to pause the episode and explain this meme to catherine with tears running down my face

angel one: not as bad as the skip/watch lists led me to believe (i didnt have to play it on 2x speed for example) but still pretty fucking terrible. oh what if WOMEN were in charge wouldnt that be WEIRD AND SCARY? meanwhile the women are wearing what pretends to be "no makeup" in 1987 and theyre super fucking hot

i thought that blonde chick was rthe one from tos's backdoor pilot and even looked it up but no she just moves her face the same way

riker's slut outfit really was something. he was such a good sport about it that i thought it was kind of mean of deanna and tasha to laugh at him but considering how women are treated on this show they deserve to actually. tasha especially.

anyway, the morals of this were all over the place. they cant remove these people bc theyre not bound by the prime directive but they literally are interfering with this planet's system of laws etc...also the fact that like everyone is arguing for gender equality when the genders are reversed is all well and good when they live in a utopian society where genders are equal but we live and star trek was made in the real world where the genders are NOT equal so it just comes out sounding like but what about the meeeeen?? i mean. what about them?? sorry.

i. HATED. the b-plot of this episode. everyone's like oh no i wonder how this virus spreads! and then they allow worf to stay on the bridge while he does those dad sneezes. maybe this episode should have been before the other to explain data's sudden hyperfixation on learning to sneeze lol. like ik all infectious disease media hits different post pandemic but jesus christ we had more sense than that even BEFORE the pandemic

1. how long have i known about them

when i started middle school i started to get into a lot of different things, mostly manga, and hnkna was one of those!!! so i've known about elliot for a long time! my romantic feelings have apparently been simmering for all this time...

i didn't know a thing about hans until i watched frozen in 2014. december 19th, 2014. our anniversary! the very same day

so they have both been part of my life for, well, most of it!

not quite... but it could happen. hnkna can be angst city 😭

THIS ONE IS SO HARD BECAUSE first of all, elliot has SO MUCH material, and it can change depending on how i play the game... so i'll go with the first heart manga. i like his first appearance tbh. 😳 he's so willing to kill which is hot and then suddenly he's like "oh yeah i like you now alice sorry about that 😇" like boy??? idk why it's just really cute to me. get to see both sides of him 🥰

random headcanon gai is a cat person more than a dog person but hes also wildly allergic to cats. you would think because hes loud and energetic hed be more of a dog person, but this is not the case. he doesn't dislike dogs ofc, kakashi is his best friend rival etc etc + he loves pakkun, but hes a cat person. big cats especially. hes a turtle person overall, though, obviously.

unpopular opinion ACK...UHHHH. i dont know. i get really uncomfortable with specifically romantic fics or art or stuff where it's all just like. kakashi is in pain and suffering, and gai is taking care of him, you know? like. a relationship should be reciprocal...that is arguably the most defining feature of their relationship since gai characterizes them as rivals!!! people who compete, and through their competition, better each other... obviously gai cares a lot about kakashi and would lay down his life if he thought it would help kakashi, but a lot of times i worry abt it sliding towards the fantasy of a partner who is also a caretaker, and that makes me like. desperately uncomfortable. i don't think it's like. a problem to make or find comfort in that kind of content, because like there's a reason hurt/comfort is so popular, and there is obviously nothing inherently bad about wanting to be helped! or wanting to help others!!! it's just like. ack. sometimes on a bad day it skeeves me out, personally. gai should be on the receiving end of care and attention from kakashi too—and we know kakashi isn't good about that kind of thing. but like. gai is also his best friend. he makes an effort.

Hello again, while looking through your other AUs I fell in the rabbit hole that this 🦋AU seems to be and I absolutely adore hufflepuff Harry and I’m 100% behind his quest to drive riddle mad, topple the government and get everyone on equal footing in no particular order. I’m guessing he’s not wearing a mask when Tom’s the only one around on purpose to get him off balance, bc Harry with a hogwarts education and beyond worth of knowledge about how dumb the wizard of world is and how easily the fall prey to propaganda and using it against them? 5th year meeting AU(or it’s proper name if it has one): Tom “I have become what I swore to destroy” right after realizing no one would believe him when they got back, there really is no rest for the wicked is there?

If Harry had a kid, (although maybe moot point if they get together later) I know you said that they wouldn’t have the same capabilities but wouldn’t they end up picking up a few things from their father regardless? And also, if a Harry Potter is still born would he try to emulate Harry Evans (something actively encouraged by at least James and maybe Sirius, lily, reg, depending on how well they get along and like to cause chaos)

The drawer-of-things(gifts)-that-shall-not-be-named: would Harry send the most perfect gifts to Tom so he would be split between the uses/benefits and the utter loathing he has for anything that remotely makes Harry look better? Bonus points if it’s utterly innocuous and still drives Tom up a wall, even more so if someone is there to witness it.

On the engagement, would it be some hilariously simple yet complicated traditional thing that offering an iron ring and the acceptance of it mean they’re engaged when they “don’t belong to a specific family”. Also Orion being ready from the get go, he was just benefiting from the time it took for Tom to realize. And probably using the “research” Tom had (meticulously documented throughout the years) to plan the perfect wedding, is just absolutely perfect.

You're right, Harry doesn't wear a mask around Tom because he wants him to know. And this trip to the past is what Harry refers to as his 'personal therapy', so it's absolutely cathartic for him.

I'm torn on the quidditch issue, I'd have to decide while writing it.

Myrtle and Hagrid both escape Tom's path, yes. Harry makes sure of it, and Tom doesn't even find the Chamber of Secrets while he's at school.

He would be distraught once they came back from that side-AU trip into canon.

If Harry did have a kid (which he won't in this), the kid would pick up on some traits, but they'd be nowhere near as chaotic as Harry is. And Harry Potter, once he's born and old enough, probably would look up to the minister that has his name and looks a lot like him lmao - Tom would be determined to keep them from meeting.

Harry sending Tom useful gifts sounds just like him, and he'd get a sadistic kick out of doing it in front of others as well!

Orion is the fairy godmother of this AU. He's ready to throw hands for his ship, even if he has to throw hands with Tom himself. Tom hates that Harry is somehow more respected by his circle of minions than Tom is.

I don't see Tom using Harry's 'supposed' creature status as a corruption thing. But he'd have a separate file on potential weaknesses in case he can finally get permission to imprison Harry - he needs to make sure the cuffs can hold him, after all.

And Gellert would absolutely play things close to his chest. Albus wouldn't get a single hint from him because Harry's visits are the most entertaining - if bizarre - thing to happen to him in literal years.

In Supersons we see a couple of kids that are implied to be Damian and Jon's children and the boy has laser eyes and can fly, so I asume he's not adopted. The girl, who calls Bruce grandpa, can also fly, btw. So it's canon (probably by accident) that Jon can have kids and he must have married one of Bruce's kids. Soulmate au: S - songs. Any song your soulmate sings will be stuck in your head

Saeyoung x MC (reader)

The first time that your soulmate sent you a catchy song was in your chemistry class, right as you were trying to focus on your task, trying not to spritz the liquid inside your test tube all over the counter, the bongo song started playing in your head. And it was stuck on replay.

You knew it must have been your soulmate, since all the other songs that were stuck in your head were more… silent and didn’t feel like a live concert where you stood in the first row.

Of course the liquid bubbled out of the tube and the experiment failed, but despite that you knew that they existed. That you had a soulmate.

When you came home that day you talked about it with your parents, asking them what they felt when they first “heard” of each other. Your dad just panicked, as you found out, he was so nervous about this feeling, that he did not go out for weeks, hiding himself in his own little word. Scared how things might turn out, after “hearing” of your mom.

Your mom however tried to communicate with your dad, “sending” him songs that she loved, coming up with questions that she wished for him to answer with another song, and after a while he did and actually she got to meet him just a few months later. From that day on they were always together. Never seperated.

Now they were both enjoying their cup of tea and after you told them about what happened your mom got up, ruffled through your hair and smiled. It was a bright, kind smile. The one she always had playing around her lips when she was proud of something you did.

“Right now, just go with the flow my dear, see what happens.”

“I’m so glad that there’s someone out there for you my sweetie” your dad said and hugged you.

(And with that you began to listen to music more and more, exploring all kinds of songs, directions, until you got stuck in an emo phase lol)

You also got a lot of input from your soulmate who seemed to be around your age but also seemed to be pretty moody. You were wondering from time to time what got into them, if they were stuck somewhere they didn’t want to be. Sometimes you didn’t receive an earwig for days but then again they suddenly came up with the cheesiest meme song, those were the ones you hated the most, because they always popped up when you were in a very important situation. Like the time when you were about to start filling in the answers on the paper sheet right in front of you, amidst your exams, but you just couldn’t focus because your mind played YMCA on repeat. Leaving your brain blanked out with an image of a dancing mothman. (you hated it but it was more like a love hate thing)

But then on some days there were only sad songs, depressing ones and the ones that brought you shivers, leaving you crying with tears that burnt into your heart. They got so sad sometimes, that you were actually worried about them. In these times you always tried sending them a cheery sound, a song that always made you smile when you listened to it or one that felt like a warm hug for you, hoping that they would do the same, feel the same vibes of it as you do.

When the finals were finally over and you officially graduated (your grades weren’t that bad- thank god) your parents gifted you a trip to south korea, all on your own.

Walking down one of the busy streets in Seoul excited you and your senses were flooded with the smell and the sounds of the city. You looked up, searching for the blue sky that peeked out between the gray clouds, that hung over the city, from time to time. You breathed in and let your mind wander to your friends for a while.

It hurt you to see that they all found their soulmate in one way or the other but you still didn’t know a thing about your own. You were glad that they did but from time to time seeing them being all cute and lovey dovey with each other stung in your heart.

The only thing you knew was that they were under the same sky as you, which gave you at least a little bit of hope in finding them some day.

Suddenly a flush rushed through your body, notes began to form in your mind and before you knew there was another song suppressing every other thing that occupied your mind.

It started silent but got louder and louder, you knew it was them and you silently cursed your soulmate for the new song that stuck in your mind. Darude sandstorm. You would have never imagined walking down the streets of Seoul with Darude Sandstorm playing on repeat.

Then a red Herari drove by with screeching tires, the windows slightly open, probably to get some fresh air, but what bothered you the most was the sound that came from the car. Darude sandstorm. The red haired guy that sat in the driver’s seat madly dancing along to the song that played on full volume.

The traffic lights jumped to red and he stopped his car abruptly, waiting for the lights to turn green. You couldn’t decide what to do, you knew it was him, that this guy was your soulmate, but how could you stop them?

You tried sending them signs, only coming up with stop and stare, but he didn’t stare, he still watched the traffic lights.

Quick you have to do something, you thought and waved your hand, “hello, it’s me.” your mind sang, but still no response.

The lights went green and the only thing that came to your mind now was to jump. You closed your eyes, hoping that he would stop.

“Hey! Hey! Are you hurt?” An unkown voice asked, slapping your face to wake you up from your sudden slumber. You didn’t really feel any pain so you shook your head.

“Thank god, man, why did you jump right in front of my baby? You could have got yourself killed” the young man sighed, looking at you with concern in his amber eyes.

So those were the eyes of your soulmate, warm and kind, soft but with a touch of sadness lingering in them.

“I, uh, I’m sorry, I didn’t want to do this, but I would have lost you if I didn’t.” You sighed, rubbing your forehead to get rid of all the things that rushed through your mind.

“l- Lost me? What are you? A stalker? Now come on, try to get up, then I’ll call an ambulance for you.” The ginger sighed again. He helped you up on your feet in no time, rubbing his neck when you thanked him for it.

“Oh sorry, I didn’t even introduce myself, I’m Luciel, nice to hit, i mean meet you, hehe”

“I’m Mc, thanks again for helping me.” You smiled and shook the hand he offered you.

“Now, let me make a phone call.” He said and turned around to pull his phone out of his pocket. He spoke pretty fast and you couldn’t understand a word. You suddenly felt lost, all alone in a huge city. What were you even doing there? What if he wasn’t your soulmate and just happened to listen to the song? You breathed fastened and your heart started racing. Your thoughts were running wild.

Then new song came to your mind and you started humming the lyrics, softly, barely making any noise.

it’s something unpredictable but in the end it’s right, I hope you had the time of your life... (<-- Tha’ts good riddance by Green Day an amazing song!!)

Luciel hung up on the phone, his eyes lingering on your face with shock in his eyes.

“Say that again, will you?” He closed the distance to hear you better, and started singing the same lyrics you sang.

Your heartbeat fastened another time, but this time you were excited. You stared into his amber eyes. Vision blurry from the tears that streamed down your face, you saw that he felt the same. It was him. He was your soulmate, you finally found each other. You pulled him closer, sobbing into his green shirt, laughing at the same time.

“So it was you who cheered for me all the time, huh? Thank you, Mc.” he sobbed, kissing your forehead over and over again. Whispering “thank you”s over and over again.

“So it was you who sent me to the YMCA during my exams.” You chuckled, forming the letters with your hand as you spelled them. A heartwarming laugh bubbled out of his throat and he hooked an arm around you, after rubbing his eyes once more.

“My god I’m so sorry.”, he laughed, while guiding you towards his car, smiling proudly. “Now let’s wait for the ambulance, and then I’ll take you home.”

I haven't seen IT 2 but I'm enjoying that wild discourse too (it is funny but some comments like "lol they made penniwise homophobic because they saw the memes and didn’t want people to think he’s gay" makes me wonder how much they are serious or joking... "They were really hoping he's change after dating Babadook huh?" and if people really have difficulties to separate canon from memes or if they're joking too). But mostly I wonder: why people have a hard time getting it's a HORROR movie? (1/?)

(2/?) Like, it is because this movie somehow become more mainstream? Is it because there is one actor from stranger things, they thought it would similar, with "light horror" and positive representations? Is it the clean picture and cinematography that makes it looks like less a horror movie because it hasn't a "dirty" quality of image some horror movie has? Are they just discovering what a horror movie can be ('cause it is one of the few mainstream one)? (3/3) Like I don't watch a lot of horror movies but obviously not everyone of them have the good guys winnings, or have a final girl, or have happy gay/black/oppressed people/... in it, especially if the movie wants to show the dark side of humanities. Or... is it somehow weird to them to have completely evil entities in a fiction? number one: I have a feeling a lot of people watched the first because finn w/olfhard was in it and they were expecting it to be stranger things and the first movie was kid-based enough that they could hang on to that hope until the second, but like........... sorry to say that’s nowhere near how it works

number two: none of these people actually read a king book or they’d know exactly what they’d be getting into ie extremely fucked up horror like guys king never was the #1 choice for comfortable reading I don’t get how you go watch anything that’s not shawshank redemption and expect a comfortable viewing experience

number three: horror movies are by nature supposed to be uncomfortable - like, the entire point of good horror is that a) you have to put yourself in front of things that Are Not Comfortable To Look At and b) Achieve Some Kind Of Catharsis By The End or b2) Get Out Of The Movie Feeling Fucking Unsettled And Thinking About It, and I think IT is in category b), but like... going into horror movies assuming that it’s fake blood and everyone is happy at the end is ridiculous because the point is that people die during horrors and actually IT has a higher survival rate than average and the average stephen king book which says all

number four: the fact that people took a meme seriously just kills me because honestly, there is no single thing in the first movie that makes you assume pennywise is anything positive. none. and if anyone was expecting pennywise to go to pride marches even just having seen the first one... guys. it’s a killer clown. who eats children. and other people. he’s not going to pride marches. also the whole debate about the first scene is pointless because it was in the book and it was based on a real murder that happened in bangor when king was plotting the book, and the entire point was showing you that a) people are evil, b) pennywise is evil, c) the return of the ancient evil that is 100% bad comes with killing a gay person which automatically makes the killing monstrous/evil, and it’s been there since 1986, and it’s in the first thirty pages of the book so... just... read a wikipedia summary? read the first chapter? idk but people complaining about pennywise not being pro-lgbt is just out of this world ridiculous to me at least

number five: idk re your last question because I honestly don’t know anymore but it feels like today’s fandom has this thing where they make grey characters absolutely evil without a chance of repenting when they’re set up to change and then they actually end up with True Evil That Is Just Interested In That and they suddenly can’t recognize it and want to turn it into cute and cuddly or not threatening and honestly I don’t get it whatsoever. also as someone who reads horror/watches horror not to get scared (bc I don’t easily) but for how as a genre is really good for character development/having settings where people have to face their fears whether they want it or not (which is a thing I find interesting in fiction okay)/a few different kinds of cathartic viewing/reading (not counting the part where I watch bad slasher movies because I think they’re hilarious or where I find actually entertaining a lot of trashy horror ie the nightmare on elm street sequels) I really don’t know how to feel about people going into *horror* movies expecting the cute ship or stranger things 2.0 or not getting that the ancient evil creature that’s 100% evil and nothing else is a trope as old as the genre? I mean I honestly Do Not Get It, could be that lately horror movies haven’t been very mainstream and good and this one is an exception but still... it’s horror. based on a book by a guy who’s known for fucked up horror. research things maybe, but from what I’m seeing people don’t :/

tldr: I think your points are all good and tbqh most horror movies don’t do the happy ending (actually it in comparison to a lot has.. a.. relatively less bad ending than most ACTUALLY the movie’s ending has fixed one of the things that irked me most about the book’s ending so GOOD) and people are assuming that most entertainment these days is harmless, but... idk man. I just want the pennywise discourse to die because last year was enough XDD

Favorite Manga/Anime

Kay, so If I'm gonna start posting stuff onto here, guess I gotta do some journaling kinda stuff.(It is a blog after all) Alrightly then, guess I'll start off with something relevant to the original content I will frequently post, Manga/Anime. There will be a lot that I love that aren't on here, but these are my personal favorites.(LONG BLOG I AM SORRY)

Top Anime:

Honorable mention - Amon - The Apocalypse of Devilman OVA - Kay so I'll be the first to admit, I'm a total edgelord.(one of my bands is a death metal band) and this one is GORY!! It's depressing, messed up, dark. It deviates from the Manga storyline but I always go back to it, plus that ending OST is amazing.

10.)Monster Musume - I probably should be extremely embarrassed about liking this one...but I'm not, it's amazing. Perverted? Yes. Weird? very. So much weird T&A action goin on that it's nauseating at times? oh my god yes. That being said, IT'S HILARIOUS!!!

9.) Pop Team Epic - Ever wondered what it's like in hell? This show. This show is literally meme hell, to the point where you lose brain cells if you watch it too long. It's great. I recommend it, after watching a decent chunk I wanted to scoop out my eyeballs and play tennis with them. That may sound like a bad thing, but trust me, it's an amazing feeling.

8.) My Hero Academia - Kay, so I'm not caught up on this one, buuuuut it's motivational as hell. I don't think I've ever rooted for a protagonist to win at something more than I've rooted for Deku. The popularity of the show speaks for itself but, damn, what an awesome underdog show.

7.) Jojo's Bizzare Adventure - SONO CHI NO SADAME!!! JOOOOOOOOOJOOOO!!! I still need to catch up on this one too but I love this wacky, music reference filled, insane show. I doubt I can really say much that hasn't been said already bout it. So on that note ORAORAORAORAORAORAORARARA

6.) Noir - Highly underrated anime. Bout two female assassins, one played by Monica Rial. Refreshingly dark and realistic, this awesome tale is set in France and is haunting, to the point of where I still come back to it after years and years of watching it. Quality anime that has slipped under most people's radar.

5.) Mirai Nikki - I said I was an Edgelord, right? Think this one cements that status. Home of the best Yandere in all of anime, I doubt I need to sing it's praises. Yuno Gasai is a well known character for a reason. Love this insane series.

4.) My Bride is a Mermaid - I'll admit, when I first saw this on Netflix and began watching it out of boredom, I didn't think I would like it. Matter of fact, I was sure I would hate it. I don't typically like cutesy things, edgelord here, I despise things that are cute and cuddly (Cept for cats). But HOOOOLY HELL this one was funny. Best part is? It doesn't rely on pervy imagery to be hilarious, it is humor at its purest. Comedy anime at its finest.

3.) Samurai Champloo - Sa-sa-sa-samurai champloo! Woooo where do I begin? Three misfits, Edo period Japan, Hip-hop related adventures, and badass fight secenes? Count me in! Made by the same people who made Cowboy Bebop, even has Steve Blum voicing Mugen, so you know it's good.

2.) Saikano - Kay so don't judge an anime by its art style. I repeat: NEVER judge an anime by its art style. This one is cheesy, yes, and the English Dub is horrible. THAT BEING SAID, it really does not go where you would expect it to go and one scene in particular had me shedding...manly...tears-It's sad, ok?! That character didn't deserve that death scene!!!

1.) Neon Genesis Evangelion - Ahhhhh yes. The creme de la creme of #toodeepforyou. Highly intellectual and artistic, this DIY amalgamation of a series hits many notes for me and came to me at a time where I needed it most. It's slow but if you allow yourself to be patient and analyze what is at first appearance a confusing, psychedelic nightmare, you'll find yourself in for a treat. Best part of the series for me? The movie End of Evangelion. You watch the series, you have to watch the movie. End of discussion.

3.)Inuyasha - The original Manga that got me into anime/manga. Rumiko Takahashi's work is very near and dear to my heart. I just remember the feeling of reading these for the first time in Middle School, I don't think I knew manga could be this cool when I firt started. The demons were legit terrifying, you couldn't help but root for Inuyasha and Kagome. Mindblowing stuff for an 11 year old.

2.)Berserk - Probably the one manga I still retroactively read. Dear god, it's excellent. The story, the fantastic art, superb writing and character development. There is a reason I want to get the Brand of the Sacrifice Tattooed on my neck. Guts is arguably one of the most sympathetic anti-heroes ever written. This is another series that really entered my life at the right time. No matter what terrible things happen to Guts. He lives on, he fights through his literal demons everyday. Above anything else, he carries on. Will forewarn anybody hoping to check it out though, extreme depictions of violence and sexual violence. Series is not for the faint of heart AT ALL.

1.)Ranma 1/2 - Ahhhh Ranma 1/2. My absolute favorite. Every time I sit down and read this manga, I find myself genuinely laughing from one of the panels. In my opinion, Rumiko Takahashi's best work. It is an absolute comedy masterpiece. Pure craziness and absurdity. 10/10.

Peter’s heart hurt. Before now, he didn’t know that hearts could hurt, not like this. They were a muscle, yes, and people got heart burn and heart attacks and other medical problems that likely caused their hearts to hurt. But all the stuff in the movies and in songs, about a broken heart hurting so bad you can feel it? Peter always thought it was just some dramatic bullshit. Which was a lot, coming from him.

But now he was forced to- begrudgingly- admit, that they were right. A broken heart did hurt. Like something was shoved into his heart, or like there was an empty chasm in his chest. It hurt like nothing he had felt before. Peter bit his lip and turned and walked away.

What he had seen and overheard echoed in his head, repeating over and over until it was all he could see, all he could hear, leaning against the wall in a silent hallway.

It was Sam, standing in his room, his back to the door. This, at least, hadn’t been surprising- shouldn’t have been- given that it was Sam’s house. Gabi had been sitting opposite him, on Sam’s bed, her eyes locked onto Sam. This hadn’t been overly surprising either, Gabi and Sam were close friends and she wandered into the Ecklund house unannounced about as often as Peter did.

Peter had paused in the doorway and opened his mouth to speak, hoping that he wasn’t interrupting anything important by barging into his friends’ conversation. But before he could say or do anything, Sam cut him off.

“Ok, I’ve been sitting on this for a while,” Peter knew he shouldn’t be hovering, silently listening in on a private conversation. But he also had the instincts of a nosy documentarian, and his interest in what Sam was saying to Gabi was stronger than his moral impulse. “And I know I should have said something earlier, but I didn’t want anything to change,” Sam continued. “But I can’t keep pretending I don’t feel the way I do, so I’m just going to out and say it.” The alarm bells were ringing in Peter’s head at this point, but he was in too deep to back out now.

“I love you,” Sam said to Gabi, and Peter’s world all but shattered.

Back in sophomore year, if you had asked Peter, he would have sworn that Sam liked Gabi as more than a friend. But things had changed since then, they had both grown up, Sam had come out as bisexual, and something in their friendship had shifted.

From the outside, it probably hadn’t looked much different. They still bickered and teased and spend all odd hours of the day together, just as they always did. But now, Sam would lean his head against Peter’s shoulder while they sat on the couch watching a movie. His hand would linger, a second longer than it used to, when he handed Peter his phone. Peter could feel Sam’s eyes on him, soft and familiar, even from across the classroom. He hadn’t said anything, hadn’t wanted to jinx it, but it had felt like they were building up to something.

Something bigger than them, something more than just freindship, something Peter had been longing for for years now. And for a moment, Peter had finally let himself hope.

Just to have it all crashing down.

Because he was wrong. And of course he was, why would someone like Sam- funny and smart and kind- choose Peter? Why would he have feelings for Peter when Peter knew he had loved Gabi for years now. Peter had been saying it, thinking it, believing it for ages. And when he finally let himself slip, let himself believe that maybe he was wrong, maybe Sam didn’t love Gabi, maybe he had a shot- it all came crashing down around him.

Peter slumped further against the wall. He thought it was the one outside of Sam’s sister Kara’s room, and he hoped that she wasn’t inside- though it would be just his luck at this point for her to come out and discover him, midway through a breakdown. Peter just wanted to slip out the back door and disappear home, where he could wallow in heartbreak in peace.

The one good thing about him showing up at Sam’s unannounced, at least- he didn’t have to face Sam before running away like a coward. Sam didn’t ever have to know that he was here at all.

“I love you,” Sam said, trying his best to maintain eye contact with Gabi, “And it’s fine if you don’t feel the same way, Pete, but I can’t not say anything anylonger. I love you, Peter.”

Gabi’s face twisted into an expression Sam knew meant she was trying her absolute hardest not to laugh- and was failing.

“Gabs!” He groaned, collapsing face-first onto the bed beside her. He felt more than heard her dissolve into giggles. “You’re supposed to be taking this seriously.” He mumbled into his pillow before turning on his side to face her. “How am I supposed to tell Peter this if I can’t even tell it to you? And you laughing at me every time I try isn’t going to help!”

“I’m sorry,” Gabi did her best to sober up, schooling her expressions into a look of soft compassion. “I know you’re struggling with this, and I’m sorry I keep laughing.” She broke out into a grin, “But I can’t help it that I find you confessing your heart to me-as-Peter intolerably hilarious.”

“You’re the worst best friend,” Sam grumbled, shoving her shoulder.

“You love me!”

“Shut up!”

Peter was ignoring him. Which meant that he was pissed about something, because Peter had two modes when he was angry- sullen distance, and exploding in your face. The thing was, Sam had no idea why Peter was pissed at him in the first place.

It had been three days since Peter had last texted him or talked to him normally, which mean Sam had suffered through three days of ignored memes and awkward classes. And he was sick of it.

If Peter was going to be pissed at him, Sam wanted to know why. Also, Peter ignoring him was really fucking up Sam’s plans to confess at their next movie night the following weekend, so.

“Peter! Peter Maldonado!” Sam yelled, banging on the front door of his house, “Either come let me in or I swear to god I’ll go dig your spare key out of the backyard!” Which was true. The Maldonados had kept their spare key in the same place in the backyard since they had moved here, and Sam had known where it was since the fifth grade.

The front door suddenly yanked open, and there was Peter, in all his sullen, pissed off glory. How on earth, Sam wondered, does he manage to look beautiful while he’s pissed at me?

“What do you want, Sam?” Peter asked, determinedly looking past Sam, over his shoulder to firmly avoid eye contact.

“I want to know why you’re pissed at me,” Sam responded, crossing his arms. He had long since discovered that bluntness worked best with Peter in general, but especially when he was angry.

Peter’s eyes darted to Sam’s. His frown tightened, and he ground out a tight, “I’m just dealing with something.”

“Dude,” Sam said, “you’ve got to talk to me when you’re pissed, cause I don’t know what I did to make you mad, ok? So if you’re expecting me to apologize or something, that’s gonna be difficult given that I don’t know what you’re worked up about.”

“You don’t have to apologize for anything, you didn’t do anything.” Peter said, somehow managing to look angrier than he had before.

“What do you mean I didn’t do anything? If I didn’t do anything, then why are you pissed at me?”

“I don’t have to tell you.”

“Pete! What the fuck? Quit being an asshole and just talk to me! Why are you so angry?”

“Because you’re in love with Gabi!” Peter shouted, and the moment froze.

All the anger in Peter’s face sloughed off like rainwater, leaving him looking sad and vulnerable. Sam stood for a second in shock, before he whispered, “Why the fuck do you think I’m in love with Gabi?”

“I overheard you telling her-” Peter started to speak, until Sam cut him off.

“Pete, I’m in love with you.”

Silence fell over them like a blanket, and for the first time, it struck Sam that they were having this argument, this conversation on Peter’s front porch. And that he had just told his best friend he loved him for the first time in the middle of the afternoon on a Wednesday.

Sam waited, but for the first few seconds Peter didn’t say anything. “Pete,” Sam said quickly, starting on damage control for their friendship and his pride, “I-”

“I love you too, Sam.” Peter said, so softly Sam would have missed it, if not for the hopeful expression on Peter’s face. One so full of love and happiness that Sam would have had to be blind to miss it.

“Yeah?” Sam breathed, not quite wanting to believe it.

“Yeah,” Peter nodded, grinning and shining like the sun.

And then Sam kissed him.

And maybe it was on Peter’s front porch, maybe it was a standard Wednesday afternoon, maybe the kiss was awkward and sloppy at first, but Sam couldn’t bring himself to care, because he was kissing Peter Maldonado. And Peter was kissing him back.
