You didn’t say this enough, but your best friend was a goddamn genius.
“Aren’t you the most beautiful princess in the entire world?” you asked, carrying Alpine in your arms while she purred. “Hm? I think you are!”
Bucky was busy with the coffee maker as you walked into the open kitchen but he had heard you talk to Alpine so he grabbed a coffee cup.
“Coffee?”
“Yes please,” you said, extending your arms to hold Alpine up. Bucky poured coffee into a cup and turned around, but jerked his head back as soon as he came face to face with Alpine.
“Jesus Christ—”
 “Say good morning to my daughter.”
“I thought she was our daughter.”
“I’m a single mom who works two jobs.”
“Not one word of that is true.”
“No, it’s from—” You shook your head slightly. “Whatever. Say good morning!”
Alpine meowed at him as if demanding him to say good morning and Bucky chuckled, then scratched at her head.
“Good morning, little hellspawn.”
“How dare you, she’s an angel!” you said and put Alpine down so that she could go to her food bowl and Bucky handed you your coffee.
“Thanks,” you said and jumped to sit on the kitchen island, crossing your legs and Bucky leaned back to the counter, sipping his coffee.
“So,” he said. “Ready for today?”
You heaved a sigh and nodded your head. “Mm hm.”
“Nervous?”
“I’m never nervous,” you replied way too fast and Bucky shot you a look.
“Charm.”
“It’s just for other people to see,” you said. “It’s not like it’s a real meeting anyway. I’ll see Steve, have a coffee, learn what’s been happening on his territory the last couple of days and come back.”
“Exactly,” he said. “And you know Steve.”
“And I know Steve,” you repeated. “Uh huh.”
“I can go if you don’t feel ready—”
“No, I’m going,” you said. “I’m ready. It’s about time.”
Bucky took a sip of his coffee and cleared his throat.
“Do you think your father will shoot me?”
You huffed out a laugh.
“That’s what’s on your mind?”
“Well I didn’t get much sleep last night thanks to you insisting that our little demon—”
“She’s the most precious princess in the world.”
“Yeah, her,” Bucky nodded in the direction of Alpine who was still happily eating her food. “Sleeping in the bed with us, so I’ve had some time to think.”
You waved a hand in the air. “Both of us have been shot at before, don’t act like it’d be something new for you.”
“That is not comforting at all, Y/N.”
You rolled your eyes.
“He won’t shoot you,” you said. “It would fuck up the truce.”
“Not because I’m his son-in-law?”
“That too,” you said with a shrug of your shoulders. “But you know, he cares more about the business than he cares about me, so.”
Bucky let out a laugh, but raised his brows when he saw the look on your face.
“You don’t actually believe that, do you?” he asked and you scoffed.
“Come on,” you said. “He doesn’t trust me with his beloved business, it’s very obvious he likes Ian more than me—”
“Choosing someone as heir is very different than liking them,” Bucky said with a bitter smile. “Trust me, I would know.”
You tilted your head. “George loves you.”
“Oh, he really doesn’t,” he pointed out. “I assure you, he doesn’t. I had a boss growing up, not a father.”
You blinked a couple of times, your stomach doing an unpleasant flip.
“Bucky…”
“He adores Becca though,” Bucky said as if you two were just talking about the weather. “He would die for her, same as Arthur with you.”
“That’s not—have you been to therapy?”
He gave you a confused look. “Why would I go to therapy?”
“Maybe because you didn’t have the best childhood?” you asked and he waved a hand in the air.
“Nah, I don’t need therapy,” he said. “I’m fine.”
“See, I don’t think—”
“But my point is,” he cut you off. “your father has worked for that truce for years, deep down he knows Ian is not the right heir, but he is ready to let him take over and start a war if it means you’ll be away from the business.”
“It’s just to honor my mom,” you replied after a beat. “Has nothing to do with me. If anything, he likes her memory more than he likes me.”
“Either way, it doesn’t sound like he cares more about the truce, does he?” he asked. “I’d say he made his choice between you and the truce years ago. It honestly might be the only thing me and Arthur have in common.”
Your eyes snapped up to his. “How so?”
“Well,” he said, giving you a small smile. “I’d happily sit back and let the whole city catch fire if it meant you would be safe. Fuck the truce.”
You stared at him in silence and he winked at you, then put his cup on the counter.
“Good luck for today!” he called out as he made his way to the bedroom and you let out a breath, then turned your head to look at Alpine who jumped on the counter.
“We’re not falling for that,” you told her. “No we’re not.”
                                                         *
Even you had to admit that Bucky was pretty smart; an official meeting with Steve as the first step of you getting involved in the business made perfect sense. Not only would it show that you had allies, but also it would be a very relaxed, casual meeting for you and him both.
Knowing it was different than feeling it though, because nervousness was pounding through your system as you stepped out of the elevator, and followed his assistant to the waiting area just outside Steve’s office but as soon as you stepped in there, Ian’s head shot up.
“What the…” he said and you smiled at Ryan who was at the corner of the room, and took your seat across from Ian.
“Fancy meeting you here,” you said airily and Ian’s frown deepened.
“What are you doing here?”
“I have an appointment.”
“About what?” he asked like a demand and you arched a brow.
“Careful with your fucking tone,” you growled and he scoffed.
“What on earth do you have that would require a meeting with Rogers?”
“I don’t think it’s any of your business,” you stated. “You don’t see me ask you the same question, do you?”
He gritted his teeth, glaring at you but before he could retort, Steve’s door opened and you both turned your heads.
“Hey, sorry for the mix up,” Steve said, leaning against the door frame. “Y/N, come in.”
“Excuse me?” Ian asked as you stood up. “Rogers, I’ve been waiting here for almost half an hour now.”
Steve shrugged his shoulders. “You know how hierarchy works, Ian.”
“Yeah and I’m here representing my uncle.”
“You don’t have a title yet,” Steve deadpanned, making you purse your lips to hold back your grin while Ryan raised his brows, looking between Steve and Ian. “She is a boss’s wife. Arthur will tell you the same thing, that’s just how the rules are. My hands are tied here. Y/N?”
“It was nice to see you, tell my father I said hi,” you told Ian and walked into Steve’s office before he closed the door. You turned to him with a smile, then took your seat across from his desk.
“So,” you said. “Was there really a mix up, or did you do it on purpose? Don’t get me wrong, I’ll buy you coffee if you did it on purpose.”
He let out a chuckle and took his seat behind his desk.
“As much as I love to piss him off, it really wasn’t on purpose,” he said. “I’ve been on this call with Chicago for over an hour now.”
Your head shot up. “Hm?”
“Yeah which is no use as Bucky and Sam keep telling me,” Steve said. “Chicago doesn’t do business with anyone. Especially this new guy Rhett, he recently took over, basically rules the whole city and—oh, you went to college in Chicago, right? Do you know him?”
You tried to control the smile threatening to pull at your lips, then shrugged your shoulders.
“Just slightly,” you lied through your teeth and Steve nodded his head.
“So yeah he’s definitely not interested,” he said. “I guess some things stay the same even when the king changes. I hoped he would be more open to it than his father, but…”
Well well…
Wasn’t this an interesting piece of information?
“Anyway,” Steve said, clearing his throat. “This is a briefing then?”
“Eh, more like catching up.”
“Will your father shoot me?”
“I swear, sometimes you and Bucky share one braincell,” you pointed out, making him laugh.
“Listen, it’s a valid concern,” he said. “I should know if I should double up the security around here.”
“He won’t, it’d fuck up the truce,” you said. “I mean don’t get me wrong, he’s definitely not going to be happy but…”
Steve hummed. “But it’s better than Ian being the heir.”
“I mean, Ian believes that he is the heir already,” you said. “And he’s not alone in that, many people believe that as well.”
That made him think for a moment before he shrugged his shoulders.
“You know how it goes in the business,” he said. “Half of the people who support him do that because they think there’s no alternative.”
“But there is."
“Exactly.”
You nibbled on your lip, then took a deep breath and leaned back in your seat to shoot him a smile.
“So,” you said. “Shall we?”
                                            *
Your meeting with Steve went very well, and by the time you left there, you were in a wonderful mood. Not even the sight of Ian when you left Steve’s office, so you decided to meet up with Becca and Leila as planned. Apparently Leila would be a bit late, so you and Becca went to your favorite brunch place while you waited for her and ordered drinks.
“So then things are good between you two?” you asked her as the waitress brought your mimosas and she nodded her head fervently.
“It’s amazing between us,” she said. “I mean I was worried she wouldn’t come to the wedding but once she did and we talked…”
“And the car chase?” you asked and she heaved a sigh.
“I mean, it did scare the hell out of her,” she said. “But it has nothing to do with me or our relationship, she says.”
“She’s a keeper.”
“She really is,” Becca said. “How about you and Buck? Did you two get used to being parents yet?”
You let out a laugh.
“We’re getting there,” you said. “Alpine is my little princess, I love her so much already.”
“See? I was right, as always,” Becca said with her nose up in the air while you sipped your drink.
“Yeah yeah…”
“Speaking of parents,” she said. “How pissed off will your dad be?”
“I mean I’m guessing Ian ran off to tell him all about today,” you said, checking your phone for what felt like the hundredth time. “I expect a phone call at the very least but I doubt it’ll just end there, he will want to talk to me face to face.”
“Tomorrow?”
“I’m meeting Ethan tomorrow, so probably no,” you said, making her raise her brows.
“Oh, has he stopped being so bitter about your marriage?”
You gave her a small smile.
“He was just surprised,” you said. “I get it.”
“You do realize you owe him nothing though?” she asked and you shrugged your shoulders.
“I know,” you said. “It’s just—things were kind of weird between us and I don’t like it.”
“Right,” she said, doubt laced in her tone. “So we’re both going to pretend he doesn’t have feelings for you then?”
You rolled your eyes.
“Even if he had feelings for me,” you said. “Nothing could happen between us. I don’t have time to waste on romance, I’m trying to take over a goddamn empire here.”
Becca clicked her tongue before sipping her drink and you licked your lips.
“So I’ve been meaning to ask you,” you said. “Before George announced he would retire and Bucky took over, while he was still the heir…What was it like?”
A shadow crossed Becca’s eyes and she huffed out a bitter laugh.
“He wasn’t exactly nice,” she said slowly, making you frown.
“Your dad?”
Becca gave you a sad smile.
“We used to joke about that,” she muttered. “I had a dad. My brother on the other hand had a boss most of the time.”
You blinked a couple of times but before you could ask anything else, Becca’s eyes found someone over your shoulder and a smile lit up her face, making you follow her line of sight.
“Hi there!” Leila said and gave her a kiss, then hugged you as you got up from your seat. “Sorry for being late!”
“No problem at all, we just sat down,” Becca assured her as you all took your seats and Leila turned to you.
“So how’s the honeymoon going?”
You smiled at her, trying to pull yourself together.
“Oh, you know,” you said, clearing your throat and motioning at the waiter. “Madly in love, that sort of thing. Drinks?”

“-What are you doing here? Someone’s going to see you!” You whisper shout, pulling the person in by their wrist and peaking your head out the door into the hallway to see if anyone is around. Thankfully there wasn’t.
You were looking through your suitcase before a series of knocks interrupted you. A little confused as to why someone was knocking at your hotel door at 11 at night, you went to open the door and noticed it was your secret girlfriend Millie Bright.
The main reason your relationship is a secret is because of the color of your uniforms. Hers being the dark blue for Chelsea and yours being the bright red for Arsenal. Two players on rival teams falling in love; ironic isn’t it?
If you both played for the same country it would be a little different, but sadly, you don’t. What’s worse is that you play for the USWNT, everybody’s sworn enemy it feels like, although everyone loves you no matter where you’re from. They obviously don’t hate players from the country, but since they’re extremely competitive, they have to keep up their tough front.
“Well, nice to see you too, love.” Millie snickers, slumping down at the end of the hotel mattress with a big thump, squirming in her place to get comfortable. She opens her arms for you to slot yourself on her lap and hug your arms around her neck.
“Sorry, I’m so happy to see you. I’ve missed you.” You sigh, pecking her cheek softly while nuzzling your face into her neck, trying to get as close to her as you can. Her tattooed arm trails underneath your shirt, rubbing at your stomach as she presses tiny kisses along your jaw.
“I’ve missed you too. I have also missed letting the TV run while I get my way with you.” She whispers suggestively, continuing to trail kisses in any place she can reach, making you hum in pleasure.
“Ooo! Look at the sky!” You hop off the blonde’s lap and open the sliding door to go onto the balcony, leaving the defender winded by your sudden disappearance. She sighs with a fond smile, shaking her head before getting up to follow you.
Millie’s arms loop around your waist as her chin finds a place down on your shoulder. Her muscular figure wraps around you comfortably while you both gaze up at the stars in the sky.
“They’re beautiful, aren’t they?” You ask, rocking back and forth slowly with the taller girl’s body against yours.
“Almost as beautiful as you.” She teases, placing a kiss on your neck.
“You’re so cheesy.” You say in fake disgust with your tongue hanging out your mouth to prove your point further. Her fingers pinch your side, warning you to keep your mouth shut.
“I guess listening to Sam’s and Kristie’s calls all the time rubs off on ya.”
You both look at the sky and the people walking up to the hotel for a little bit until you catch a familiar blonde looking up at you with a puzzled face and a hand over her eyes to block the light from the lamppost. Of course, it had to be the Lionesses captain and your fellow Arsenal teammate.
“Shit! Mills go inside. Code red, I repeat code red!” Before your girlfriend can protest, you’re already shoving her through the glass doors and shutting it along with the curtains.
“Now what was that for?” Millie stands with her arms crossed over her chest, wondering why exactly their peaceful stargazing was interrupted by you yelling and pushing her into the hotel room.
“Leah might have just seen us from the sidewalk.” You bite your nails at the confession before peaking out the glass door to see if the girl is still down there. Running a hand through your hair, you begin to pace back and forth wondering if Leah has seen you with the Chelsea defender.
“Leah as in my England captain and your teammate Leah?” Millie asks, trying to process everything that just happened while making sure you’re talking about the same person.
Before you have the chance to answer, the sound of knocking appears at your door, causing your eyes to widen. You look out the peephole and notice Leah standing there with her familiar scowl on her face.
“Oh my god, we’ve gotta hide you.” You push at her back and drag her into the bathroom, gesturing for her to get into the shower.
“I don’t want to go in there!” Millie protests while whispering so she doesn’t alarm the girl who is currently still standing on the other side of your hotel door.
“Either you go in there right now, or you stay and explain to your captain that you’re in a long-term relationship with an Arsenal and United States player.”
“In the shower, I go.” She hops in so you can close the curtain right away and head over to the front door. You look at the mirror next to you and fix your appearance to the best of your ability.
Opening the door, you greet the other defender with a smile, “Hey, Lee. It’s pretty late, what are you doing here?”
You welcome Leah in, gesturing for her to sit either on your bed or on the little chair in the corner, but she chooses to stand.
“I just thought I’d say goodnight to my dearest friend, but I thought I saw someone else on the balcony with you.” She quirks an eyebrow towards you, waiting for you to answer her not-very-obvious question.
“Nope, just me.” You chuckle nervously.
After a few seconds of silence, Leah lets out a big sigh, “Thought I’d just say hey since I saw that you were up. Guess I’ll get goin’” Just when you’re about to think she’s leaving when she heads over to the door, she turns around and asks, “Do you have any extra tissues? Russo and Mccabe just finished watching The Notebook for the first time and used it all.”
“Umm yeah, I’ll go grab that for you-“
“No, it’s okay. I know where it is.”
Leah misses the panicked expression on your face when she heads into the bathroom. She looks under the sink and grabs the extra box before making her way back out by you. You almost sigh in relief when she doesn’t notice the tall figure standing behind your shower curtains, but you refrain yourself so she doesn’t ask questions.
“Goodnight, Lee. See you tomorrow.” You wave her out the door, closing it and locking everything you can so no one with a key card can get in. Hands grab at your waist making you jump at the sudden contact but relax hearing the familiar voice of your brick wall of a girlfriend.
“That was a close one. I think that calls for a long night of cuddles, don’t ya think?” She asks, jumping onto the mattress with her arms wide open, waiting for you to join her. You laugh at her childish pout and shuffle your body to fit into hers, resting your head on her chest.
“I love you.” You mumble sleepily.
Millie places a peck on your forehead whispering back, “I love you too, sweets. Get some sleep.”
“You actually saw Mills in the room with her?” Beth asks with a shocked expression on her face.
“Yes! Her bun was literally peaking over the shower curtain. Y/n/n thought I didn’t see Millie on the balcony with her when it was so obvious seeing how much bigger she is compared to our tiny Gooner.” Leah states as everyone rolls their eyes at yours and Millie’s attempt to hide your relationship.
The Chelsea and Arsenal players caught onto your relationship quickly when they caught you sneaking off into a materials closet to snog each other’s faces off. With the many attempts of the two of you trying to keep it a secret, they thought it would be fun to let it keep happening to get a little laugh in.
Everyone 100% supports you guys in every way. They think you both complement each other well and you’re basically a match made in heaven.
“Don’t get me started when I saw Millie get all lovesick on the phone a few weeks ago. When I asked her who it was, she tried to say it was Daly.” Sam shakes her head, taking a sip out of her drink. A bunch of the girls, both red and blue, decided to hang out in one of their rooms to have a meeting about you two.
“Do you think they’ll ever realize that they’re not as subtle as they think they are?” Niamh questions to which the whole group responds in a series of no’s, shaking their heads at your guys' obliviousness.
“Making my way downtown, walking fast, faces pass- ah!”
One second you’re walking around, next you’re being yanked away by an unknown source. You had time to spare before you had to go out on the pitch and practice, so you decided to stroll around and get a little pregame walk in.
“Beautiful singing there, love.”
“Warn a girl next time, almost gave me a heart attack.” You exclaim, pushing at her chest in fake offense which doesn’t even make her move an inch because of her string build.
She grips your waist and softly presses you up against the corner wall. Her lips begin to pepper all over your skin, from your cheeks to your collarbones.
“Mills, someone’s going to catch us.” You protest weakly, too consumed by the feelings of her kisses pressing lightly at all the right spots.
“We’re tucked away in a corner, no one will see us, darling.” Her voice vibrates against your neck, causing you to let out a soft giggle, melting the heart of your lover. “I miss you.”
You grab her cheeks with both of your hands and swipe the loose strands of hair that have fallen out of her bun. “You just saw me last night, baby. We’ll get to see each other again.”
“Yeah, but I had to sneak out in the early morning so no one would notice me leaving your room which is hardly romantic might I say.”
Your eyes remain on hers, roaming every detail of the different hues of blue splattered in her eyes. She smiles back at you and places her hand over yours that continues to stroke her cheek.
Snapping out of your little love bubble, you clear your throat and ask, “Is there any reason you stopped me from my regular pregame stroll?”
“Oh just wanted to come and wish you luck, but also let you know that there are no hard feelings after we destroy you.” She smirks, straightening her posture and showing off her new captain band.
“That’s so funny because I was just going to say the same thing.” Millie rolls her eyes at your mocking tone and threatens to walk away, but you grab her wrist and pull her back into you. “Good luck kiss?”
The defender huffs but leans in anyway, never being able to deny you. It first starts as an innocent peck but then you pull her back in for another and things start getting more heated. After a minute of her tongue in your mouth, you pull away gasping for breath while giggling slightly in the slight haze you’re in.
“Thank you for that, hope it makes you feel better after Arsenal beats Chelsea’s ass!”
And it turns out, you weren’t wrong. Arsenal won 2-1 with a goal from Lacasse and Russo. There were a few chances of you scoring a header but with a certain captain’s hands on your waist, whispering her thoughts about you had you distracted.
Safe to say that you’re not on your best game when playing against Millie Bright.
You’re now shaking hands with all of the other team when you approach the blonde. You both begin to talk while drinking out of your water bottles just chatting away. Millie leans in for a hug which you accept and take in her big embrace.
“Oi! You were already off kissin’, you can be separated for a little bit now.” An Irish accent interrupts you, making you pull away with a shocked look on both of your faces.
Your fellow Arsenal teammates stand next to Chelsea’s as they all stare at you two with amused expressions. Millie stands awkwardly, stuttering at the fact you two were caught while you gasp and point your finger at all of them.
“You all knew?!”
“Hardy har har, we get it. We weren’t as secretive as we thought we were.” You roll your eyes at everyone’s continuous teasing.
After the game, everyone agreed to go out and have a few drinks at the pub down the street since there’s a little break in the season and everyone has free time. The whole group besides you and Millie decided it was time to share all the times they either caught or suspected the two of you, many of the stories being incredibly embarrassing.
Millie is sitting on the booth with you on top of her, legs sprawled across her lap. One of her hands rests comfortably on the spot where your skin is exposed, right next to your belly button while her other holds onto her bottle of beer. You continue to sip on your cocktail as everyone turns to their separate conversations.
The blonde below you taps on your stomach, making you shift your attention to her, seeing her neck crooked up with her lips pursed. You let out a small laugh and lean over to press a few short but equally sweet kisses to her lips. Millie smiles in delight before the sound of fake gagging can be heard from across the table.
“Can’t you guys go swap saliva in the privacy of your own room?” Katie once again interrupts but ends up getting hit on the back of the head by Caitlin.
“You all better turn away because what I’m about to do is not PG!” Without warning, Millie grips your jaw with one hand and pulls you into a sloppy kiss, kissing the life out of you and dramatically making loud noises to peeve the other girls, causing your nose to crinkle at the disgusting sounds.
You push her away and hang your tongue out, showing your obvious fake displeasure. A few of the girls whooped at the public display of affection while others covered the eyes of the innocent ones. Everyone gets their laughs and jokes out, trying their best to patter on your so-called new relationship.
You’re laughing with Leah and Alessia about their little game disagreement when you notice how quiet Millie has been. You look over and see her staring into space so you wave your hand in front of her face, bringing her back onto earth with a small smile.
“Why don’t you let your hair down, baby? Loosen up a little.” You rub your thumb on the apple of her cheek while swiping away a strand of hair that fell down on her cheek.
“Mm, might have to wait till after we get to the hotel because the things I plan on doing to ya require my hair to stay out of the way.” A deep crimson red coats your cheeks before you look over to the side, sipping on your drink to avoid the lustful stare from the tattooed woman.
“Cheekyyy,” Sam says having slid over closer to you two for whatever reason.
Millie is quickly guiding you out the door, bidding your goodbyes to everyone and ignoring the wolf whistles that follow you out the door. After your rewarding night, you both equally decide to share your relationship with the world, so when you have up to thousands of notifications, you shut your phone and nuzzle your face right back onto your girlfriend’s chest.

Everything Has Changed
Natasha Romanoff x Female Reader
You’re vying for the Avengers to choose you as one of the Shield agents to go on a mission with them. Nat performs her own evaluation and you grow closer
Note: Some soft Nat! It was going to come out yesterday but my nephew was born lol. Enjoy this one!
Natasha Masterlist 1, Natasha Masterlist 2, Natasha Masterlist 3, Main Masterlist
“Agents, we will have a very special guest for training today,” Maria Hill’s voice sounds from the entrance of the gym.
You and all of the other agents stand up straighter in her presence. Soon, she’ll be choosing the best agents to go on a mission with some of the Avengers.
You have been working extremely hard to make sure that one of those agents is you.
Agent Hill walks to the center of the room. You keep your attention on her as she instructs everyone to warm up. It’s hard to pretend not to notice when the special guest arrives. Her steps are light, but her presence is undoubtable.
Still, you keep your focus on warming up with the other agents. Some simple stretches and laps to get your blood flowing.
“Okay, focus up,” Maria says, bringing everyone together.
Chatter erupts at the sight of her standing next to Maria. The Black Widow. Natasha Romanoff. You were all expecting the usual special guests, like Steve Rogers or Agent Coulson.
“For training today, I’ve asked Agent Romanoff to join us. As she will be on the upcoming mission, she has some say in what agents will come along,” Maria explains. “Agent Romanoff, is there anything you’d like to share?”
Natasha takes her time before she answers. You wonder what is running through her head as she looks at each and every agent in the room. You swear her eyes linger on you for the longest amount of time.
“I’m not one for speeches,” Natasha finally speaks. “That’s more Cap’s area of expertise, as I’m sure you all have had to deal with.” A few chuckles fill the room. “Let’s see what we’re working with.”
Agent Hill gives everyone assignments for the next hour of training. She and Natasha walk around and observe. You never hear Natasha say as much as two words as she watches. At the end of the hour, the agents circle up again.
“I will choose a few of you to spar with me,” Natasha explains. She says a few agent’s names before she says yours at the very end. Your heart drops to your stomach.
“The rest of you can be dismissed,” Maria Hill adds. The five agents that were chosen, including you, remain in the room.
Natasha goes in order that she called the names out, so you are the last to spar with her. Everyone else lasts under a few minutes with her.
“You ready?” She asks you, a smirk on her face.
“Yes ma’am,” you reply, trying your best to sound confident.
Nat swings first, not pulling her punches at all. She lands a blow on your ribcage. You respond by taking a lunge at her, but she blocks your attempts at hitting her. You try not to let it rattle you.
“Try again,” she says. “Follow my eyes. Try to see what I’m going to do next.”
You nod and reset your feet. This time you manage to block her first swing, but the second one lands hard on your abdomen. You fall back a bit but regain your balance. This process repeats for a few minutes before Nat calls it.
You sigh and fall back in line. Maria dismisses you all for the day after explaining that the five of you are to attend a Stark event tonight. There is more to the job than just fighting, she says.
The rest of the day is spent with you preparing for the next day and getting ready for the party. Stark events are notoriously good opportunities to network, so you prepare yourself for being socially burnt out by the end of the night.
Once you arrive at the party, you find the other agents and get a drink together. There is a lot of laughing and cutting up. Someone brings up Natasha and things get a little more interesting.
“I’m just saying someone that beautiful cannot be as good as they say she is,” one agent says.
“I don’t know, man. I’ve heard she has more kills than anyone else here combined,” another adds.
“Guys, come on she’s just a pretty face,” someone says.
“No,” you jump in, your voice a little too loud. “She’s a hero. You guys know that. She is not just a pretty face,” you say.
You storm off and don’t notice that Natasha was standing near you. She heard everything. Nat walks by the agents and they all look away sheepishly. The bartender hands her the drinks she asks for and she leaves the room.
Standing on the roof of the building, you look out onto the city. You don’t know why it got under your skin so bad that the other agents were calling Nat’s abilities into question. Maybe you just don’t like bullies.
Your thoughts are interrupted by the sound of heels on the concrete. You turn around to assess the threat.
“Sorry if I startled you,” Natasha says.
“No, that’s okay.”
“Mind if I join you?” Natasha asks, offering you a smile. You nod. She walks your side and holds out a glass to you. “I wasn’t sure what you were drinking.”
“Thank you, Agent Romanoff,” you say, accepting the drink.
“Natasha is fine,” she says. “Or Nat.”
“Y/n,” you offer her your first name.
“I know who you are, y/n,” Nat says.
“Oh.”
Nat takes a breath and rests her arms on the edge of the building. You don’t know what to say, but it doesn’t feel awkward.
“Maria will tell you tomorrow, but you were selected for the mission,” Natasha says.
You can’t help the smile that creeps onto your face. It’s what you’ve been working for for so long now. You take a sip of your drink and look out at the city again.
“Are you excited?” Natasha asks, taking note of your body language.
“Yeah,” you answer. “Thank you for choosing me.”
“It was a group decision. You’ve earned it, y/n. You went toe to toe with everyone, including me,” Natasha says.
“I’m pretty sure I didn’t go toe to toe with you,” you say with a light comedic tone to hide your frustration.
“You did,” Nat argues. “Well, more than anyone else did. Seems to them I'm just a pretty face."
"You heard that?" You ask her, turning to face her. She nods. "I'm sorry."
"It's alright," Nat says. "I'm used to it. I also heard you defending me."
"Oh, yeah."
"You don't think I'm pretty?" Natasha asks, a hint of teasing in her tone.
You're sure your face cannot hide your reaction to her words. A heat creeps up your neck.
"Oh, no. You're so beautiful, Natasha," you say.
"You're beautiful, too. Very much so," Nat replies.
You smile shyly. Natasha feels herself falling for you. You realize how late it is when your phone dings in your purse.
"I should probably get some sleep so I can be ready for the mission," you say.
"Right," Nat agrees. "Maybe after the mission, we can see each other more often."
"I would love that," you reply.
"Goodnight, y/n."
"Goodnight, Natasha," you reply.
Before you step away from her, she leans close and drops a kiss on your cheek. It's soft, and delicate but perfect.
You can't wait to get to know her better.

[15] CALL ME BACK — last friday night
Tumblr media
9.57pm: ning yizhuo’s party
the moment you had replied to wonyoung, a voice rang out from the crowd, yelling your name. you turn your head, making eye contact with the tall beauty, smirking at you.
“hey, sweetheart,” wonyoung waves slowly, her eyes dragging up and down your body, “gracing me with your presence?”
you laugh, “only for a few minutes, i’ve got to settle things with sakura.” wonyoung tilts her head, reminiscent of a puppy. her bunny eyes stare at you, “what? i can’t hear you.”
before you even attempt to repeat what you said, wonyoung interrupts, “let’s go somewhere quieter.” her cold hand grasps around your wrists, pulling you to a secluded room upstairs. ningning’s party playlist and the sound of people cheering drowns out, only leaving the soft ambience of ariana grande’s voice in your ears.
“so!” wonyoung smiles, “what were you saying?” she settles on the massive guest bed, taking her heels off and massaging her swollen ankles.
“kkura and i have to talk, so i can’t stay for long,” you repeat, eyes trailing around the room. you wonder how wonyoung even knew that this room would be empty. in a party like this, it would be expected that all the rooms would either be full of people smoking, or having sex.
“talk? talk about what?” wonyoung asks curiously. you sigh, thinking about the impending headache of an argument that is your relationship.
sakura was a lovely girlfriend; she always took care of you and never complained about your clingy nature. but she never really liked the company you kept around, mostly avoiding hangouts that you tried to arrange between them.
(“i’m friends with jungwon, but you can’t be friends with my best friend?”
“jungwon’s not my best friend, so your argument is invalid. i’m not going five feet near park sunghoon.”)
“i didn’t tell her about this party,” you frown, “she found out ‘cause sullyoon tweeted about it.”
“oh? you didn’t? why not?” she asks, getting up and rummaging through the cabinets.
“don’t know. just didn’t think it was important enough to tell her.”
it still wasn’t, in your head. you didn’t need to tell sakura if you were going to a party or not. it wasn’t like you lied straight up to her.
“maybe she has some trust issues, it’s kinda common nowadays,” wonyoung suggests, pulling out a bottle of alcohol, “found it!”
“how’d you know it was there?”
wonyoung grins, “ning told aeri and aeri told me. secret stash hidden away from the party.”
she sits back down, taking a chug out of the bottle.
“what’s up with your relationship then?”
you take a moment to think.
“it’s mostly a me thing though, sometimes i just do things to annoy her,” you mumble as wonyoung hands you the bottle, “mhm, thanks. her reactions’ funny. i do it just to make her angry.”
wonyoung laughs, “ah, is that why?”
“yea, she gets annoyed easily,” you giggle, thinking about sakura’s furious texts flooding your phone whenever you did something.
“you’re interesting,” she remarks, “deliberately making her angry. when did you guys meet?”
“we met at a party, park jaemin hosted it. she was introduced to me by one of yoona’s friends, i think her name’s haewon? sakura was the one who asked me out first, it was quite cute,” you smile, the memory of a stuttering and blushing sakura appearing in your mind.
you continued with your story, taking sips every time wonyoung passed you the bottle.
“cute,” wonyoung comments.
“hm?”
“your relationship,” she clarifies, “it’s cute.”
giggling, you nod. “sakura’s a cutie. ugh, what was i supposed to say to her again? i think she’s mad at me.”
“you’re meeting her later?”
“yeah, i need to apologise…” at this point, your words were completely slurred. wonyoung watched in amusement at how you struggled to stand up.
“i don’t think you’re in the best condition to talk to her, or even walk. maybe you should sober up first.”
you nod, completely out of it. wonyoung’s angelic face was just a blurry figure in your eyes.
“let me… just sleep… wake me up in 5…”
“okay, y/n. sleep well.”

“Neteyam?” You call as you walk further through the forest, listening to the trees blow in the dangerously silent wind. You had just woken up moments ago but it was still night, forest darker then it had been before you got there which was weird because the forest was anything but dark. “Neteyam!” You yell but receive no answer, calling to your Ikran but she was nowhere to be found.
A tall silhouette came into view making you sigh in relief, walking up to it slowly with one last call to his name. You smiled as he began to turn around, just a few feet away from his body.
“Nete-“ Your once love filled eyes turned into pure fear as the silhouette turned, gripping your neck in their hand as their face started to become clear to your eyes. “D-dad” You couldn’t breath, his hand was too tight against your neck and only got tighter, staring at you with the most hateful look you’d ever seen.
You choked out a cry as you clawed his hand, but he wouldn’t let you go—your breath getting caught in your throat quickly. “Y/N” a voice called faintly but it wasn’t your fathers, your mind not even processing it as you struggled to breath. “Y/N” the voice repeated, your vision starting to get foggy. “Y/N!”
With a blink of an eye you found yourself gasping for air in a whole new area, hand clasping at your chest with every shaky breath. “Y/N, look at me, Sweet girl” you jumped as you felt hands touch the small of your back, still gasping for air as you looked toward the figure. “It’s okay, I’m right here” you looked at your mate mortified, eyes widening at him without you even noticing. “Come here”
He pulled you into him and you soon began to cry, his hand grabbing yours to place against his heart. “Hear my heartbeat? Just focus on that, Baby”
“I-I-“ he shushes you once more, hand stroking your hair gently as you continued to cry, holding onto him the hardest you ever could. “He almost killed me…”
“It was just a nightmare, Ma’Tìyawn. Nothing will happen to you while I’m here” His words are as true as Eywa herself, his comforting arms only tightening around you. Another day, another nightmare—this was nothing new to either of you. It hurt him horribly to see you so scared, feeling all the emotions you felt in your dream because your queues were still connected. “Don’t cry, beautiful girl. I’ve got you”
You wanted to apologize but you knew what he’d say so you bit your tongue, resting your head against his chest. You sigh as you felt his tail hook your leg, his hands roaming your hair as he kissed the top of your head.
“It felt so real… his hands—god, his hands, Nete” Neteyam didn’t want to hear of it any longer, shushing you once again in hopes you’d leave it alone. He was more worried about what was to come, how you two would soon walk home to the clan mated.
“As long as I’m still breathing, nothing will ever hurt you again, you hear me?” He lifts your face into his hands, eyes sincere with plead and you nod, wiping away your tears. “Let me deal with him when we get back, yeah?”
You remembered… the fact no one knew this had happened—that you had to explain it to them soon, just as you were to walk into high camp. You were nervous but you knew this is what everyone wanted, they wanted you to be Tsahìk. It was so much pressure. You didn’t know how to be Tsahìk, or even act like one—lessons with Neytiri and Mo’at we’re gonna be a long process.
“My love, your nervous” you look beside you and realize where you two had connected, head ducking down slightly once you realized he could feel everything you felt. His hand calmly rested in yours, thumb caressing over your skin. “Do you…have regrets?” He hesitantly asked and you quickly shook your head.
“No, of course not. I’m afraid I won’t be the Tsahìk they want me to be. I’ll fail…” He watches you closely as you reach down to your queues, thumb brushing over the root of them with a sigh. It was a terrifying feeling, falling in love and actually pursuing it. You had no idea how to give him what he needed, how to be the leader he needed you to be.
“I don’t want to worry about that now” His voice interrupts your thoughts and you look up, watching his lips peak into a small smile. “It’s gonna be okay, I promise” Eywa, how beautiful he was. His eyes always seemed to sooth you, always so sincere when he spoke to you. He wanted you to feel comfortable, safe whenever you touched. He would never let anyone lay a finger on you again.
“Can we stay here a little longer? Just… alone?” He smiles and nods his head, laying back onto the grass with his arm open to you which you happily accept. He can feel your nerves relax as soon as you lay your head against his chest. You didn’t want to think about the future either, just wanted to stay with him for as long as you could. His fingers began to stroke through your long hair and you couldn’t help but stare up at him, admiring his features without saying anything.
You swore you could fall back asleep just in his arms. You felt so weightless, like nothing could even get close to you as long as he was with you. You felt safe. “Your so pretty, Nete” The words slip from your mouth but before you could react he lets out a small chuckle, shaking his head.
“It still feels surreal. I’m mated to the most beautiful girl on pandora” You push his face with a laugh, hiding your head in his chest so he wouldn’t see your burning cheeks. You were laughing but he truly was being serious. He waited so long for this moment, spending so many days debating on whether it would come true or not. This was his dream. “Kids gonna be so pretty, I’m gonna have to fight off any boy that tries to fuck with our daughter”
Your laugh slowly dies down and he looks at you slightly worried he had taken it too far, his ears falling back against his head. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to-“
“How many do you want?” You ask, fingertips tracing circling over his chest. You could tell he was still on edge, but he knew you meant it. You always wanted kids—always talked about how well you’d treat them because of how you had been treated growing up. You wanted to give them a good life, good parents.
“A lot” He lets out a nervous laugh but your indistinct giggle is enough for him to lighten up, your eyes meeting his with a smile. “Like… four? Five?” Neteyam was always a family man. He wanted to treat his children the same way you did, and had the motive to treat them better then his father treated him and his brother. He needed a big family—it’s where he belonged.
“Boys and girls?” He nods his head instantly. “So if we have five, how many girls do you want?”
“I want three girls and two boys, but I want the oldest to be a boy” You smile, he wants girls. you couldn’t help but look at him in awe—admiring how his eyes lit up when he talked about it. “I don’t want a lot of boys… stresses you out” He notices your eyes on him mid sentence, a small smile appearing on his lips with a laugh. “What?”
You shook your head. “Nothing. Your just so cute, wanting a family with me and all” You snuggle into him, heart full at the sentence you had just said. You and Neteyam… parents? Oh Eywa, it sounded so good. “I used to stay up all night dreaming of this. Just the two of us, you know?” His heart is doing backflips, stomach filling with butterflies at your words.
“Eywa, I’m so in love with you” You smile against his neck, pressing a small kiss against his jaw. You could cry just over your relationship. You’d never felt so safe, so calm in another’s arms. Your mate would admit his love for you in a heartbeat, over and over if you needed him to. “As much as I love being here with you, they have been paging me all night” You notice his pager against his necklace, letting out a small sigh before nodding.
“I’m just nervous… it’ll be okay” you reassure him but before you could get up, he cupped your face, pressing a soft but passionate kiss to your lips. It felt like his way of telling you it would be alright, and that he wouldn’t let anything ruin this day for you both.
“Don’t be nervous, Syulang. The people love you. Plus, we need to move into our own cave now, huh?” A smirk appeared across his lips and you rolled your eyes, pushing him. “All alone, every night… man, we’ll have 5 kids in no time-“
“Neteyam!” You cover his mouth and he only laughs, watching your face turn into a mug. “Not funny”
“Really? Cause with what happened last night…” His hand reaches down between you, pressing onto your stomach with a smile. “We’ve already started”
The two of you made it back to the village about 15 minutes after, Neteyam’s hand locked into yours just waiting for someone to see. You hoped it was Neytiri, knowing how badly she had been rooting for you guys. She would be the easiest.
“Neteyam!” Oh no. The little voice calls to your mate, running up to the two of you with the biggest smile on her face. You knew she’d draw so much attention, and now you were royally fucked.
“Tuk, did you see him-“ Neytiri’s eyes fall on the sight before her, her pupils lighting up with excitement. She made her way to you, pulling you into a tight hug with her hand soothing your back, whispering little reassuring things into your ear. “Great mother… you are mated?”
You nod and she almost shrieks out of excitement, the clan now coming to see what had been happening. Neteyam grabbed your hand and pulled you further, walking to the people who had been coming to you. Only one person stood out.
Mo’at.
“My sweet grandchild, I am never wrong!” She pulls you into a hug and you laugh, wrapping your arms tight around her. “I was hoping that’s where you went, boy. You’ve been ignoring us all night!” He laughs, hugging an arm around her while she still hugged you.
“Does this mean we have a Tsahìk?” Tuk’s little voice asks and the family all looks at each other, Neteyam’s hand squeezing your own. The simple nod of your head makes the clan cheer, and you couldn’t help but smile. You were nervous, but these were your people.
“You can’t keep me in here forever, sully! I’ll find my fucking daughter!” Your head turned at your fathers loud voice, almost jumping from your mates grasp. He placed a hand against the back of your head, squeezing your hand.
“Hey, hey” He soothes, turning your head to face him. “I’m right here, your safe. Your safe now” Neytiri smiles at you two, giving mo’at a slight look. Neytiri taught Neteyam to protect you growing up, but now? Great mother, nothing was getting passed him. “I’m going to deal with it, okay? I’ll be back”
He kisses your head before you could say anything, voice hesitant as you watched your mate walk toward the caves where the yelling came from. You hated that you felt so empty without him next to you, now biting your lip to try and stop your nerves from getting the best of you.
“Come, child” Mo’at grabs your hand and you turn to face her with slightly widening eyes, watching her face soften. “It is okay, he will handle everything” Neytiri’s hand cups the small of your back, giving you a reassuring look. “I will show you to your new cave—that is, if your looking to-“
“Yes. We are” Neytiri smiles, noticing how you’d lightened up when she soothed you. “I will follow you” And you did just that. Mo’at did you a solid giving you one of the more deserted Caves that happened to be bigger then most. Only the best for her grandchildren, right?
You enter the cave and almost instantly fall in love. It was a beautiful cave under the trees, and it had an opening on the back wall which looked out onto the waterfall behind your new home. You imagined it all here, the moment you’d bring home your first child.
“Do you like it?” Mo’at doesn’t miss how your eyes begin to water, her hand rubbing your shoulder with a small smile. “Sweet child, don’t cry” it was bittersweet. You grew up in a broken home with a broken family, The Sully’s being the only thing you ever had—and now, you were soon to become the Tsahìk of your clan and live a normal life with the boy you loved. You couldn’t believe it was real.
“I love it, Mo’at. I—oh, Eywa” You sniffle, wiping the tears that fell from your eyes. “Thank you… thank you both so much” you couldn’t help but stare at the beautiful water, remembering you still had to take a bath due to last nights events. Neytiri must’ve known what you were thinking because she almost instantly reassured you.
“We will give you time to get used to your new home. Let us know if you need help grabbing things from your old one, okay?” She combs your hair and you nod, giving her a small smile.
Soon enough, the two mother figures left the cave to go on about their day, most likely planning something much bigger for you and Neteyam later on. The only thing that had been holding Neteyam back from becoming Olo’Eyktan, was the fact he didn’t have a mate. Now that he did, you knew things would move fairly quick.
You let the water take you as you walk into the small waterfall stream, the loud crashes of the water somewhat soothing you in the fact you had been alone. You could still feel Neteyam’s hands against you, and his voice in your ear. You must’ve been losing it. This mate bond was far too strong.
Neteyam on the other hand, but standing right behind you with his eyes flush just taking in your perfect body. He was mesmerized by your looks, your voice, your hair, hell—even the way you smelled. You were so beautiful.
“Need some help with that?” He asks as you try to wet your back, body quickly turning toward the loving accent you were so fond of. Your eyes were big with excitement and he loved every second of it—pulling you into his arms so you’d wrap your legs around his waist. “I was only gone for 30 minutes”
“30 minutes too long, Mr. Sully” you tease, wrapping your arms around his neck as he pulled you into a kiss. You felt your queues connect, eyes squeezing shut at the still fairly new feeling. “Did you see the cave? It’s so beautiful, Tey. We have a waterfall and-“
Neteyam watched in awe as you continued to ramble about your new life, only imagining what things are gonna be like from now on, what it would soon be like once you two started a family. He imagined you would be even more beautiful then before, pregnant and carrying his child? After years of feelings hidden away, you two were finally one—and he couldn’t wait to start a family with you.
“I love you, Syulang” He blurts out and you stop talking, looking at him while your cheeks burned with heat. He lifted his head toward you, still holding you up with his hands—pressing a passionate kiss to your lips.
Everytime your lips touched, you’d get lost in yourself. You’d forget where you even were whenever he was with you. You don’t know what came over you, but one hand set on the back of his neck, pulling him closer into the kiss while your other hand roamed his chest.
“My love, Not right now but later” Fuck. He knew you so well. You whine against his lips, tugging his hair gently back, earning a small moan from his lips. “You make it real hard to stay on task, Pretty girl”
Just as you were about to reply, the sudden snap of a twig caught your attention quickly, and your head snapped toward the direction it came from, pulling away from Neteyam’s grasp. Was someone watching you?
“Let her go!” Your mother yells, your now bleeding body fallen onto the dirty under you. Your father continued to beat you, objects cutting you and leaving bruises
“Daddy…” you tried to wipe your tears, you tried to stay strong like your mother had told you, but you couldn’t when your body had been this destroyed. Your were 9, it wasn’t your fault.
It wasn’t your fault
It wasn’t your fault
At this point, he was trying to take in the many cuts and bruises along your back, placing a soothing hand against your body. Your ears stood tall as you searched for what made that noise, up until he engulfed your body against his.
“Can we check it out—what if-“
“It’s not him, baby. He’s locked away. He can’t hurt you” You didn’t believe him. You didn’t believe that your father would leave you alone because you knew he’d find a way. He always finds a way. “My love, you can’t stay this way forever”
His hand softly caressed your stomach under the water and you couldn’t help but close your eyes, letting a small tear roll down your cheeks. That fact only made you cry, the fact he could hurt your child if he got out… it terrified you.
“I’m sorry” He shushes you, turning you towards him and pulling you back into his chest, your head laying in the crook of his neck. You felt like such a burden. You didn’t want neteyam to have to deal with this, you wanted him to be able to love you easily.
But Neteyam didn’t care that you were harder to love. He didn’t care that you woke him up every night because of your nightmares, he didn’t care when you zoned out because of your memories—he loved you. His broken hearted girl, he loved you so much.
You were all he needed, and he wanted every part of you.

House Party.
————— ♡ —————
Pairing: Mammon x Female Reader
Genre: Flirty fluff, teasing, implied nsfw.
Synopsis: Your situationship with Mammon has been going on for far too long, and it’s time one of you did something about it.

Tumblr media
————— ♡ —————
The music is loud and the party is in full swing. You briefly wonder why you came, and why you came alone, but a feeling of relief washes over you as you spot a certain… special person.
“Hey, you.” You say softly, pressing your body against his back.
Mammon immediately turns around and rests his hand on your cheek. “Hey, doll. I was hopin’ I’d run into ya tonight.”
You smile at his words and look around. “Are you having a good time?”
“Oh yeah.” Mammon puts his arm around your waist, adding a slight grip and pulling you close to him. “Real good time. You?”
“I just got here.” You can’t hold back a genuine grin as you look up at him. “But I’m glad I found you.”
“I love hearin’ stuff like that from ya.” He leans down as the music gets louder, getting closer so you can hear him. “You look damn good tonight.”
“So do you.” You say as you play with the collar of his shirt, looking directly into his eyes.
“Mm.” Mammon hums, pressing a soft kiss against your neck. You tangle your fingers in his hair and sigh, your words barely audible over the volume of the party. “Just make me your girlfriend already...”
Mammon pulls back and smirks. “You want me to?”
“We’ve had this flirty hookup thing going on for, like, two years.” You laugh, “I’ve had actual relationships that were shorter than whatever we’ve been doing.”
“Yeah, I know.” Mammon looks at your face carefully, his gaze dropping to your lips. “Two years and you’re still not my girlfriend. Hm.”
You get close to him and press your forehead against his. “Two years and you’re still not my man. Hm?”
Mammon scoffs. “I could be your man.”
“Could you?” You ask, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah.” Mammon pulls you closer, “I think I’m gonna be your man, actually.”
“Oh?” You laugh softly, “And what makes you so sure?”
“Because you’re gonna come home with me.” Mammon leans down and kisses your neck again, moving up closer to your ear. “And I’ll do things that’ll make ya never want to leave.”
“Oh…” You can barely think of a response as Mammon takes your chin between his thumb and forefinger, making you look into his eyes.
“Oh.” He repeats you with a smile. “Yeah. You are.”
“Aren’t you eager?” You smirk, poking his cheek. You suddenly feel the need to cool down, and think of an excuse to disappear and compose yourself for a moment. “I’m gonna go get a drink.”
Mammon nods and watches your body move as you walk away. He absolutely loves your figure - you’re just his type and he’s never been shy about letting you know.
“Hey.” Mammon jolts as another voice startles him. He looks over to see Solomon, and rolls his eyes. Solomon snorts with laughter. “What’s got you so worked up?”
“Nothin’.” Mammon turns his head, his cheeks clearly red. “Just..” Mammon trails off, finally ending his sentence with your name.
“Oh, yeah. She’s something, isn’t she? I’ve wanted to ask her out for a while.” Solomon smiles and waves at you as you make your way back over.
“Don’t even think about it. She’s mine.” Mammon practically hisses at him and Solomon continues to laugh, holding his hands up and walking away with a shake of his head. Mammon’s mind immediately snaps back to the beautiful way you sway your hips as you walk up to him, Solomon completely forgotten.
“One for me, one for you.” You hand Mammon a drink, and he grins, clinking his glass to yours. “Cheers.”
The two of you continue your night together, drinking and dancing, mingling and having fun, but always staying at an arms length from the other. As the night starts to wind down, Mammon slides his hands down your sides, resting comfortably on your hips. “Hey, doll. Look at me.”
You do as he says, tilting your head as you question what he needs.
“I was serious about you comin’ home with me.” He leans down and whispers in your ear, “I’m gonna take you into my room, get ya nice and comfortable, and then I’ll make ya forget how to say anything but my name.” He kisses your neck, pulling you as close as you can get. “How’s that sound?”
“Oh.” You turn away, blushing. You could often have a pretty playful back and forth of flirting, but once in a while he’d hit you with something like this - and it always had you tongue tied.
“I could really use your company tonight, baby.” He whispers, “You’ll come home with your man, won’t ya?”
“My man?” You giggle, looking back up at him.
“Yeah. Your man.” Mammon repeats, and you could feel the seriousness of his tone. He takes your hand and presses it to his chest. “You make my heart race, and you make me so damn hot, ya know that?”
“Hah.” You look down, nudging him softly. “You’re just drunk.”
“Maybe a little.” He shrugs, “But I’m not wrong. What, do I need to press you against the wall and show you how badly I want ya?” Mammon leans down so his lips are almost touching your own. “How ‘bout that?”
“… You wouldn’t.” You smirk, practically daring him to follow through.
“Watch me.” Mammon does just as he promised, pressing you against the wall and kissing you. His soft lips press to yours as his hands travel down your body. You kiss him back with fervour, unable to resist the temptation that he’s been dangling in front of you the entire night.
“Got an answer for me yet, baby?” He whispers against your lips, continuing to kiss you and sliding his tongue into your mouth. His hands wander behind you and he grabs your ass, groaning with desire.
“Yes, yes.” You pant, “I’ll go home with you. I was going to the entire time.”
“Good girl.” Mammon smiles, kissing you once more. “Just lemme finish my drink, and we’ll be on our way.”
“Really?” You cross your arms and raise your eyebrows, “You’ve spent the entire night begging to take me home and now I’ve gotta wait?”
“Of course you have to wait.” Mammon smirks, pressing his finger to your lips. “I’m havin’ too much fun playin’ with ya. Don’t tell me you’re all impatient now, sweet pea.”
“I’m not.” You playfully pout and look away.
“Mm. Right.” Mammon tilts your head to look back at him. “And I’m not dyin’ to make you mine. We can lie all we want, but it doesn’t change what’s true.” He grins and grabs your hand, pulling you towards the door. “C’mon now, I don’t need ya gettin’ desperate.” He teases with a playful wink, and you make your way back to the House of Lamentation.

“I need to head down to the gym for a bit, are you going to be alright here?” Lando asked as he gently lifted your head off his legs.
You dropped the hotel guide you were flipping through after unpacking your bags and sat up so he could get up off the couch. “I’ll come with you.”
“You’ll come to the gym?” he asked as his eyebrow cocked up in surprise.
“Don’t be silly,” you scoffed as you waved the hotel guide his way. “I’ll be in the spa. They have a full salon service.”
He pulled you to your feet and into his arms as he brushed his lips softly over yours, teasing you until you rose on your tiptoes to deepen the kiss. A small groan escaped his throat as he pulled away and combed his fingers through his hair. “I already don’t want to go.”
“Sorry.” The smile on your face contradicted the apology and Lando chuckled at the sight, knowing you were not feeling sorry at all.
“Come on then, before you distract me again.” He slipped a room key into your pocket and laced his fingers with yours before heading to the elevator. As soon as the elevator doors closed he looked at your reflection in the mirrors and remembered the intense ride up. “This was a bad idea. This is very distracting and it’s your fault.”
You turned to face him, head tilting as you looked up through your lashes with an innocent smile. “It’s not my fault you are so easily distracted.”
“But you are the distraction.”
You caught your bottom lip between your teeth at the heat in his eyes. “Is a workout really that important?”
His hand reached past you to the panel, his finger aiming for the floor button you had just left, but then the doors opened at the leisure centre and you skipped out before he could hit it.
“Mr Malvern would be very disappointed if you missed a cardio session because you got distracted,” you teased as you pressed your key card to the gym entrance and opened the door for him.
He tried to stifle his smile as he looked down at his shoes and stepped off the elevator, his body brushing yours as he passed the doorway to the gym. Unable to resist his own teasing, he dipped his head to yours as he walked by. “There’s more than one way to get a cardio workout, love.” His lips brushed your cheek as light as a feather before he was gone, throwing a wink over his shoulder as he left you struggling to remember how to breathe.
You were still half in a daze as you headed to the other end of the hall where a pair of opaque glass doors awaited, his words playing on repeat in your head the entire way.
Tumblr media
“Is this something special for tonight?” the beautician asked as you placed one hand under the UV light and she painted the other nails.
“Hopefully,” you admitted with a smile mostly to yourself as you looked over the menu of services. “What’s the go with waxing?”
“How do you mean?”
“It’s, um, been a while since I’ve been with anyone, if you know what I mean…do guys expect a Hollywood or Landing Strip or anything?”
She screwed the lid on the nail polish and placed it down on the table. “In my experience, if he's worth a grain of salt, he won’t care. But, it’s a Hollywood that we get most requested.”
You felt like a new woman as you stepped out of the salon with your nails done, a fresh blowout in your hair, and not a single strand of hair on your body from your newly tinted and shaped eyebrows to your toes. The beautician had been one to remind you with each strip of wax, ‘beauty is pain’ and she was right, but the result did wonders for your confidence.
Though you couldn’t see the sun outside, the time on your watch said it was only 6pm as you stepped into the suite. Lando said his surprise wasn’t going to start until 9pm so there were still a few hours that your imagination had many ideas on how to fill. Just the thought of what you were planning was enough to leave you giddy, with an edge of nervousness.
You had been with René since you were both teenagers, learning how to love with all the finesse of two bumbling toddlers learning to walk. It hadn’t been pretty at times, and the both of you had stumbled as you found your footing, but before you knew it you were running together hand in hand. You had thought it would be that way forever.
You didn’t have the naivety that came with the rose tinted glasses of young love. You were older now, not just physically but in your soul. While other women your age faced breakdowns in relationships or lost their partners to infidelity, yours lost his life.
Before René died you had thought widows were grey haired grandma’s, they weren’t in their 20’s, they weren’t you. Until it was.
Now you had to learn how to love once again, learn what the other enjoyed and disliked, make mistakes and learn from them. It was exciting and saddening at the same time. It was more confusing the longer you thought about it.
A sweet scent hit you as you stepped inside and closed the door. “Lando?”
“Just a sec,” he called from the bedroom and you followed his voice to find him in the bathroom, bubbles overflowing the tub and rose petals sprinkled all around the room.
His back was to you as he bent over the counter and you could see the definition of each muscle as he moved, lighting a scented candle like the dozen already flickering in the darkened room. The sweatpants he had changed into after his workout hung low enough on his hips to reveal the two dimples at the base of his spine and the warmth of his skin called you closer until you could wrap your arms around his waist and rest your cheek on his shoulder blade.
“Hey,” he greeted softly as he blew out the match and turned in your arms.
“Am I interrupting a little me time?” you asked with a smirk. “You should have put a sock on the door if you wanted privacy.”
Lando’s laugh echoed off the tiled walls before he swept you up into his arms. “You’re gonna pay for that, smartass,” he promised as he stepped into the bath and sank down into the hot water with you still fully clothed. Water overflowed the lip of the deep bath and flooded the floor but you didn’t care as your head fell back with a laugh.
“I just had my hair done,” you managed to say through the giggles as you flicked bubbles out of it and tried to save it before seeing the mess on the floor. “Housekeeping is going to hate you.”
“I can take the trouble,” he said with a smile. “You’re worth it.”
Shifting onto his lap, you placed a hand over his heart and felt it beating beneath your palm. “I had plans, you know.”
Settling back into the curve of the bath, he relaxed beneath you with his hands on your hips. “Yeah?”
“Mhmm,” you hummed as you took his hands, gripping the hem of your shirt as you drew them up your body. “I think you might have had the same one.”
His smirk grew as he pulled the shirt over your head and tossed it aside. “You were going to bathe me and massage my feet by candlelight too?”
“I might be skipping a few steps.”
“So impatient,” he tutted as his thumbs drew circles over your ribs, each circle inching him closer to the lace of your bra.
Your patience had been infinite all your life. You had been a patient girlfriend, putting your career on pause so you could travel with René and support him early in his career. You had been a patient fiancée, delaying the wedding when René needed to focus on racing and planning was a distraction. You had been a patient wife, waiting until René retired before trying to start a family so he didn’t miss out on the things that matter.
Your patience had finally run out.
“It’s selfish,” you corrected as you leaned forward, your lips hovering over his as you looked into his blue eyes that reflected the dozens of flames flickering around the bath. “I want you, Lando, and I don’t want to wait any longer.”
You could feel beneath the sweatpants how much he wanted you too but there was hesitancy in his eyes. Or maybe it was more akin to regret.
“What are you thinking about?” you asked quietly as he sighed.
“Fucking Max.”
Your jaw fell slack before you recovered. “Not what I expected,” you muttered as you started to climb out of the bath.
“No, that’s not what I meant. Fuck,” Lando groaned as he pulled you back down onto his lap. “I want you too, so so so badly, but I ordered us dinner and it’ll be here any minute. That was Max’s suggestion, I knew I shouldn’t have listened to him.”
A knock sounded at the door and a muffled ‘room service’ reached you a moment later.
“Come in,” you called back and the front door clicked open before the rattle of a trolley clinked as it was rolled into the room. “Leave it there thanks!”
“Certainly, ma’am, just call reception when you’re ready for the dishes to be cleared.”
Your eyes hadn’t left his as you waited to hear the door click shut.
“Food is going to get cold,” he warned at the telltale sound that you were alone once again.
Your lips had gone dry from the deep breaths you had been taking to steady your racing heart and he watched your tongue roll across them, your stomach somersaulting at the hunger in that stare. “I don’t care.”
Fresh water sloshed over the lip of the bath as he sat up closed the distance between his lips and your skin, his teeth grazing over the supple skin of your breasts. “Off,” he ordered as he pulled the cup of your bra down and sealed his mouth over your nipple.
You obeyed in an instant, reaching back and unclasping it before dropping it to the floor with your shirt while his tongue drew his name from your lips. Your hips rocked over his but your shorts and his sweatpants kept you from what you needed most and a frustrated whine escaped. “Lando, get me out of these damn shorts.”
A small pool was forming outside the bath as you climbed out with Lando following quickly. There was a furious need to keep close and your fingers tugged at his hair to bring his lips back to yours while he fumbled with the button on your denim shorts before pushing them past your hips. You relinquished the hold on his curls to pull the string of his sweatpant loose and your core clenched as the white material of his boxers had turned clear with the water, leaving nothing to the imagination.
The sodden sweatpants caught around his ankles as he took a step closer and you gave a small squeal as he stumbled into you, the soapy bubbles covering the tiles giving no purchase as the ground rushed up to meet you. Lando tried to help catch you but with his pants tangled all he did was end up splashing onto the floor beside you, shock and horror plastered on his face.
You wiggled your fingers and toes, satisfied you weren’t hurt, before a giggle escaped and you lay down on the warm tiles as more laughter filled the air. It took a moment, a heartbeat even, for Lando to join you and sprawl across the floor with his deep laugh echoing yours.
“This is not what I had planned,” you said between the giggles you couldn’t stop. “Are you alright?”
“Ego’s a little bruised and my confidence could do with a bandaid,” he said with a chuckle, pulling you into his arms so your head could rest on his shoulder and not the hard floor.
You shifted in his arms, cupping his face as you smiled at him and washed away the worry that lingered in his eyes with a kiss.
This kiss was a far cry from the desperate need earlier, it was soft and slow, reassuring. It was a promise that you hadn’t changed your mind because you had ended up in a mess on the floor. It had actually endeared you to him even more, if that were possible. Up until now everything he had been planned worked out perfectly that you were worried you would fuck it all up. But he was human. A handsome, kind, perfectly normal human who was trying his best and it made your heart swell with emotion.
 Retreating from his embrace, you grabbed the sweatpants from where they were still tangled around his legs and pulled them free.
“What are you doing?” he asked as he pushed up onto his elbows, his abs tensing as you crawled up his body, your fingers slipping into the waistband of his boxers.
His breath shuddered as you pulled the material away and bit your lip at the long hard length that sprung free. “Giving you a bandaid.”

YOUR POV
You and your band were preparing for a award show backstage. As you finished practicing y’all’s final song, you let out a deep breathe as nervousness flooded your senses.
You felt a hand on your holder as you turned around. It was your drummer, kasity. “Hey y/n, I know your nervous but… it’ll be okay! We will do great!”
“Yeah yeah I know, thanks kasity!” You smiled, feeling better. “Y/B/N! Y’all are on in 5!” You heard your crew yell. You took another deep breath before standing backstage and waiting to go on.
“And for our next performance…” the host spoke into the mic, “Y/B/NNNN~” the host said as you ran on stage singing your most popular song as you lean down to interact with the screaming crowd.
As you went to look back up, scanning over the croud, you saw him. Bill Kaulitz looking into your eyes with a certain look in his eyes.
You blushed as you turned away from him, singing your heart out as the crowd screamed your bands name in excitement.
After a few songs, you and your band walked off stage after you said a few final goodbyes to the crowd
BILLS POV
I was sitting in the crowd with my twin brother waiting for the next performer to start before my thought we’re interrupted by the host.
“And for our next performance… we have the lovely, talented, Y/B/N!!” Ah shit. I’ve always had a crush on the lead singer, y/n
As if on cue, y/n came on the stage, singing my favorite song of theirs. Unexpectedly, she looked even prettier in person.
She smiled and jumped around the stage, singing the song with a smile on her face. God, she looked beautiful.
She bent down to interact with the crowd and as she looked up, and we made eye contact. It was like the whole world stopped and it was just me and her.
I could see blush spread across her face that made confidence flow through my body. She looked up and continued the performance.
It seamed as time speed up, to my disappointment. And as quickly as she appeared, she disappeared. I searched for her the whole night.
Though with all the people I always ended up losing her. I went home with a feeling of sadness in my bones but also a feeling that I’d see her again.

BILLS POV
I was standing up talking to gustav as we waited for the next artist to come on stage and perform.
This event gave me déjà vu for so reason but I pushed the feeling down. “Okay! Our next performer is…. Y/B/N!!!!” The host spoke.
My eyes widened as I turned my head around quickly, seeing her again. Oh my god.
Finally it was happening, after almost 16 years. I’d finally found her again. Her body swayed to the music as she sung.
It was like history was repeating itself as she scanned the crowd with her eyes before locking eyes with me. She had to do a double take before her eyes widened as well.
It looked like her shock was short lived as she smiled a gummy smile at me, making me reciprocate her smile.
She didn’t take her eyes off mine the whole time and I didn’t take my eyes off hers.
YOUR POV
I finally found him. We smiled at each other every now and then sadly my performance had to come to an end. As I left the stage, I smiled at him again before I couldn’t see him anymore.
Once I could finally go out into the crowd, I was swarmed by people but my mind wasn’t off him. I needed to find him.
While walking around, I bumped into somebody. “Ah I’m so sor-“ I gasped at I looked up at the man I bumped into.
“Hi…” bill said looking down at you. “Hi..” you said as you laughed with him. The whole night was filled with you both laughing and enjoying each others presence.
Thought the feelings between the both of you was not unnoticed by Tom, Georg, and gustav. They decided to send you both up to bills room to grab something, in hopes that something would happen
Once you were up there, you and Bill are on his bed, just talking about life and his everything’s been. “Can I kiss you?” Bill blurred out.
“W-what?” Your said your eyes growing wider. “Shit sorry I don’t know why I said th-“ Bill was cut off by your lips on his.
He melted into your kiss as he kissed you back, hands moving up to cup your cheeks as he pressed closer to you. The kiss was slow at first, but soon grew hungry.
His tongue teased against your lips and you parted them, moaning as his tongue touched yours. Bills hands squeezed your hips and a small whine left your lips as yall made out
You tugged at the back of bills shirt with a soft whimper. With a breath, Bill pulled his shirt over his head. “Eager, my love?” He said with a goofy smile.
“Shut up and take off your clothes.” You said as you pulled your dress over your head. Leaving you in only your bra and underwear
“Don’t gotta tell me twice.” He murmured as he worked at his own suit. He eyed your body as you unclipped your bra, now going for your underwhere
He reached out to grab your wrists. “No. That’s for me.” He groaned quietly before lifting you. A squeak left your lips as he did so, not expecting him to lift you up like that.
You instinctually wrapped your legs around him as he took off your underwear, distracting yourself by tangling your hands in his hair and dragging his lips back to yours.
You felt bill leaning you back into the softness of the mattress. His lips left yours, returning to nuzzle your breasts before moving down your belly.
He pressed kisses against your abdomen, working his way down to your hips. You whined, lifting your hips to get more contact from him.
Bill snaked one hand up to grip your waist, his hot breath fanned over your core as he spread your legs. “You okay miene leibe?” He cooed, nudging his nose against your inner thigh.
“Yeah.. I’m okay” you said as you smiled down at him. He made sure to take time to mark your thighs until he had you squirming and wining for him.
It wasn’t until you begged did he finally flatten his tongue against you, licking a broad stripe against your core.
A whine left your lips as you arched your hips, wanting him to do that again. His hands kept a firm grip on your thighs as he fucked you with his tongue, making you wine under him.
You whined his name, rocking your hips as he pumped his finger slowly into you. “Bill, please.” You breathed, tugging on his hair.
“Please, what?” Bill asked against you, flicking the tip of his tongue against your clit and making you yelp at the contact. “I need you.” You whined, tugging on his hair again. “Need me how, sweets?” He chuckled and smirked
You know how!” You wined at him. “Say it.” He responded. You tugged on his hair again. Bill’s response was a swift smack to your thigh, and you gasped at the sting on your skin.
He licked his lips and raised a brow at you expectantly. You frowned at him. Bill shrugged and once again smacked your thigh.
A whimper left your lips. “Say. It.” Bill growled at you, turning his head to kiss your thighs. You groaned, huffing in defeat as you laid your head back against the pillows.
“I need you to fuck me.” You mumbled. “What was that? I can’t hear you.” Bill hummed, fingers tapping against your thigh impatiently. “I need you to fuck me.” You repeated a little louder.
Bill smirked, kissing over the mark he left on your thigh. “Ask me nicer.” Bill said. “Bill, I swear to God-” you were cut off by bill.
“Just ask me. Ask nicely and I’ll fuck you.” You huffed, as you smoothed your fingers in his hair. You gently started to massage at the roots where you had tugged and you felt bill turn into a puddle between your thighs.
“Billy..” You spoke sweetly. There was silence. “Billyy?” You tried again, “Hm?” He finally responded. A blush settled on his cheeks.
“Bill~” You cooed, starting to massage again. “Yes, pretty baby?” Bill breathed against your skin as he pressed a kiss to it.
“I need you to fuck me, please?” You pouted at him. “I need you to make me cum on your cock.” You wined at him.
“Scheiße” bill groaned, pressing his face against you. You giggled as you slowed your massaging of his scalp, instead tugging once again. This spurred bill back into action.
He moved up your body, pressing his lips to yours. You groaned as you tasted yourself on his lips. You pushed his boxers off, managing to wiggle them off of his body and toss them aside somewhere in the room.
“Such a sweet girl. Letting me fuck you.” He cooed as he pushed his dick into you. You moaned, biting on your lower lip as he pushed into you.
You wiggled your hips, arms wrapping back around his neck and settling a hand in his soft, blonde hair as he sunk into you inch by inch.
Your walls fluttered around his length, begging for more. When his hips met yours, you let out a shaky breath. “Oh, my god.” You breathed, feeling a pleasant sting as he stretched you for him.
Bill pulled back before snapping his hips into yours again. A deep groan left his lips as he started a rough pace. Your mouth fell open in a pretty ‘O’ shape, moans and bill’s name falling from your lips easily.
 “Taking me so good, pretty girl,” bill moaned as he fucked into you. “Look so perfect under me while I fill you up.” You almost wanted to die at how he spoke to you.
Bill’s hard thrusts became rough and sloppy and you let out a high-pitched whine. You were starting to feel the coil tighten low in your belly.
Bill chuckled and kissed your pouting lips. He cupped your face in his hands and spoke, “Im never gonna let you go again baby.” You smiled before you and Bill moaned loudly.
You both came as your legs shook against bills. He didn’t get off but just held you, much to your relief. After a few minutes, he slowly got off you and slipped your underwear back on you.
He put his underwear back on as well before crawling into bed with you and holding you tight. This was definitely a start of something special..

Moonlight (pt 1)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Matt Sturniolo x y/n
A story where a boy who is terrified of love lays his eyes on a girl who's determined to save everyone else, but herself.
prologue, pt2
Warnings: language, death of a loved one
_______________
“As long as the moonlight shines, you're not unseen or unknown. You are just as important as the moonlight and as long as you shine, you'll never not be enough” I repeated to myself as I gathered my books and put them in my school bag with shaky hands. I have found myself repeating that exact phrase over and over again for the past few months, hoping it would bring me some kind of solace. Well, it didn’t, but I just couldn’t stop myself from doing so. It was the last thing I had from him.
First days of school always made me anxious, however, this one specifically was totally different from the rest of them. I felt as if my whole life had been demolished and reconstructed within 6 months. Actually, that would be a lie; it wasn’t reconstructed at all, I just pretended that it was. There were still obvious pieces of my shattered heart around, pieces of myself that were left behind at home, pieces of myself that died with him the night he did. I felt as lost as ever, as empty as ever. I didn’t know how to move on. Shit, I haven’t even processed the fact that he’s not here anymore. I didn't think I could feel safe again, happy again. Genuinely happy.
I stared at my new, blank, almost empty bedroom and sighed deeply with a heavy, hollow heart; a feeling that had been living in the empty rooms of the beating organ that kept me alive for months, rooms where they were once filled with laughter and joy. I didn’t feel like I could be strong anymore. I didn’t feel like I was someone. No, y/n. Remember.
“As long as the moonlight shines, you're not unseen or unknown. You are just as important as the moonlight and as long as you shine, you'll never not be enough” his voice echoed through my head. I shook my thoughts away and finally grabbed my bag and headed towards the kitchen where my mom was. I had to be okay.
“This is how you’re going to school?” she judged while her criticising glare scanned me from head to toe. It hurt, but she wasn’t completely wrong; I had no makeup on, didn’t even attempt to style my hair or find a cute outfit to wear like I would normally do, having always wanted to make a good first impression. I couldn’t bring myself to care this time. I just threw one of my brother’s old hoodies and a pair of leggings, my dark circles and tired eyes being the only accessories.
“Yes,” I bluntly replied and went to grab an apple for lunch before leaving. I didn't want to deal with her at the time because if I did, I would corrupt into tears right then and there. In front of her. Embarrassing.
The moment my feet stepped out of my door, I put my headphones on and started blasting music from my phone. I’d rather be consumed by that than my own thoughts. Not that I didn’t like music. In fact, it has been my pharmacy and my escape from reality these months and one of the things I’ve been passionate about my entire life. It’s just that I had lost interest in it for a while.
School wasn’t that far away from my house, only 10 minutes by foot. Yet, the walk there felt like an eternity. At least it was a pretty walk. The birds were already singing, the bees were already searching for pollen in the already bloomed flowers and the aroma of wet grass could be smelled. Even though spring wasn’t my favourite season, there were some elements of it that were truly beautiful, just like everything else in life. Even the things you don’t really like can be beautiful, you just have to accept the fact that they have that potential.
I faked a smile. I had to be strong. I had to be okay.
“Everything is okay. You're okay,” I whispered as I reached the corridors of the school. I took a deep breath and finally stepped in after a moment or two of hesitation.
There were already kids in every corner of the school. Some were on their phones, some with their friends and some already making out with their partner.
‘It’s 7 in the morning,’ I thought to myself with disgust and went to look for my locker. I ended up doing circles around the same corner of the building.
234. 234. 234.
Where the fuck is that goddamn locker?
I probably have seemed like a creep or a weirdo as I was looking for it, because a lot of eyes were on me and a few giggles could be heard from, what I assumed to be, the popular kids. My heart tightened at the realisation, but I still shot them a smile. Not a sorry one or an awkward one. A nice, genuine smile. Soon later, the chattering stopped. Before I could continue my search, a voice was heard right next to me.
“Do you need any help?” a guy from my right asked and I jumped.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to scare you, you just looked very lost,” he chuckled at my reaction. I placed my hand on my chest, trying to calm my breath and heart beat down while chuckling faintly with him.
“Do you do that often?” I sighed and looked up at him. His eyes were pretty, a shade of brown I had never seen before. A golden brown, just like honey.
“I guess you’ll have to find out,” he shrugged and I hummed. We just looked at each other for a few moments before I spoke again.
“I actually do need some help, I’m looking for my locker. It’s 234,” I said, shyly.
“Oh, so we’re neighbours!” he beamed and motioned me to come with him. He was nice.
“I’m 232,” he added and looked down at me. I smiled.
Our lockers were just down the hallway, a spare one the only thing that separated them from each other’s.
“I'll see you around often, then” I joked while trying to unlock it and failing miserably. I couldn't make myself seem more of a fool than at that moment.
“Here,” he giggled, “let me do it,” the boy reached his hand towards the little piece of paper I held that had written down the code.
“I'm Austin, by the way” he smiled and unlocked the locker for me.
“I'm y/n,” I grinned back at him. “Thanks for the locker,” I tilted my head towards it and reached for the books in my bag to place them inside. He kept looking at me and stayed with me, even though his friends were calling out for him from around the corner.
We kept talking for a while until the bell rang. That was when anxiety washed all over me. I'd rather go back home than get inside a class with other teenage people I didn't even know and who'd probably be judging me just from my appearance. I didn't even know where the classroom was.
“I'm sorry but, could you show me where Mrs Whitley teaches? I'll probably get lost if I go on my own,” I shyly asked him, already feeling like a burden to him.
“It’s the class right there,” he pointed his finger to the door right across from where we were. I thanked him and quickly got on my feet. The last thing I wanted was to be late.
Austin was a nice kid. He seemed kind, and rich, something I definitely wasn’t. I felt small in front of him, almost like an ant that was met with a boot, but his soft features eased my nerves. Plus, I needed friends, even though socialising was the last thing I wanted to do. I honestly didn’t even feel like talking or even existing. But, that’s just how life is; you got to get over shit, shallow it, bury it six feet under the ground and keep the show going.
When I reached the classroom, cold sweat gathered on my forehead. Too many kids. Way too many. Too pretty, too rich, too not me. I was intimidated. I felt my breath hitch as I scanned for any empty seats. My shoulders relaxed when I found one next to a boy that wasn’t like the rest. He wasn’t surrounded by other people or talking loudly. He was instead focused on something under the desk, his eyebrows furrowed and tongue slightly sticking out in concentration with messy, brown hair plastered all over his forehead. Maybe he wouldn’t mind.
“Is the seat taken?” I approached him and his head immediately turned towards me. He just looked at me startled, his eyes darting to my features and clothes. He didn’t say anything. Small. I felt small again.
“I- I guess I’ll sit somewhere else, sorry” I sheepishly apologised with my gaze on the floor, too embarrassed to even look at him. I was about to walk away when I heard the screech of the chair. I turned my head to him, seeing him having pulled out the chair for me and having returned his attention to whatever he was doing before I interrupted him. I sighed in relief and placed my bag on the floor before sitting next to him.
“Thanks,” I whispered, “I’m y/n,” I smiled at him.
“And why would I care?” he harshly replied, making my jaw drop.
“O-Oh I just- I thought you might want to know,” I innocently said. Okay. Not as different as the others, it seems.
“Well, I don’t. This isn’t kindergarten, sweetheart. No one’s friends with anyone here, grow up,” he chuckled at my cluelessness, his eyes never meeting mine. I just shook my head.
“I was just being nice,” I mumbled, my fake confidence slowly disappearing.
“Go somewhere else to be nice to ‘cause it ain’t working on me, angel” he cocked with a smirk. I just stared at him with an open mouth.
Before I could reply to that, the teacher entered the class, making the whole class stop talking. I knew what was coming and I wanted to crawl up into a ball and pretend like I wasn’t there.
“So, where’s our new student? Come on honey, we don’t bite!” she looked around the room, trying to decipher a new face.
‘You may not, but he might’ I thought to myself, talking about the boy that was sitting next to me. I chuckled at my thought.
I hesitantly raised my hand and breathed in deeply.
“There you are! What’s your name, sweetie?”
“It’s uh,” I trailed off and saw a couple of heads turning towards my direction, “It’s y/n y/l/n.”
“And what brings you to Somerville, y/n?”
‘My brother died,’ I almost blurted out, but thankfully caught myself before doing so. I didn’t want anyone’s pity. I didn’t want people to pay attention to me and my problems. I didn’t want the attention. I didn’t need any of it.
“My mom found a good job here, so we moved out from Long Island,” I lied. I hated lying. I hated liars. But I’d rather lie about that than have people feel bad for me.
The teacher went on talking about my home place, telling me random facts about it that I didn’t care about. I just nodded at whatever she was saying just to not come off as rude and disrespectful. I wasn’t listening. I was just acting like I was.
What was the point of any of this? School is shit, high school even more so. I didn't even have any plans for college or my future in general so, why was I even going through this? Nothing fucking mattered.
“Made friends with our photographer, I see” she suddenly commented, making me snap out of my thoughts. I felt the boy next to me stiffen at that. “Matthew right there has been making our yearbooks this whole time, isn’t that right?” I turned to look at him with a surprised expression. My eyes darted down to his hands that were still under the desk, which were holding a digital camera. I was surprised. And intrigued.
“Yeah,” he breathed and shot an almost insulting glare at the so sweet teacher, before lowering his gaze once again at his gadget. I almost slapped him across the face for that. I felt bad for her.
----------
The day was miserable. I was exhausted. The whole masking-my-feelings thing made me ill, both mentally and physically. I felt like throwing up. I didn’t know why, though. Maybe because I haven’t eaten properly in weeks, or maybe from my visible exhaustion. Whatever it was, I felt sick.
I sat alone at lunch, looking soullessly at the apple in front of me before I pulled out my notebook. I could hear my stomach rumble from hunger, but I knew that if I actually ate the fruit, I would actually throw up. And that was something I really didn’t want to do. As I started writing on it, I took a glimpse at the cafeteria, observing how other kids laughed and smiled with their company. I smiled too. I loved seeing people happy. Maybe I could experience it as well one day again. But, who on earth would want to willingly spend their time with me? No one. Not even my own mother does.
A clicking sound startled me. I looked towards it, seeing Matthew nearby, with his camera again in his hands. He stared blankly at me, seeing that I had heard him taking a photograph of something. I looked behind me, seeing what that something could be. I sighed at myself. There was a gorgeous, blonde girl who had a smile that radiated so much warmth and love that I almost felt close to tears. She was breathtaking. The complete opposite of whatever the fuck I was. I turned my head back towards him, him still being in the same exact place, with his eyes stuck on me. I gave him a soft, sad smile, and continued writing and scribbling on my notebook.
“So you're a nerd too?” Matthew suddenly asks me.
“Uh, no, I don't think so,” I kindly said.
“Well, you look like one,” he laughed. I just looked at him blankly.
“There's nothing wrong with that,” I simply replied and went back into my sketching. He just stood there, looking at me.
“Anything else?” I asked, slightly irritated at his constant, unapologetic staring.
“Well, I think-”
“Y/n!” Austin greeted from behind Matthew. I smiled at him, mentally thanking him from saving me from Matthew's presence.
“Hi, how was class?” I asked with a soft voice. “Boring as fuck, I almost fall asleep,” he faked a yawn, “You got anyone to sit with? You can come to our table, if you want to,” he added.
I shot a glare at Matthew who was observing the whole interaction, not having interfered once.
“Yeah, that sounds good,” I happily accepted and gathered my stuff before going to sit with them.

pairing: midoriya izuku/gn reader summary: watching Izuku reach the end of his life for the ninety-ninth time doesn't stop you from going back to the day you met him for the hundredth time. word count: 1.2k chapters: 1/1 contains: angst, time loop, temporary character death, established relationship, reader has a quirk, no use of y/n • ao3 link
Tumblr media
How many times have you stared at the green fading away?
For the ninety-ninth time, the yellowed hospital curtain swayed with the gentle breeze of spring, the season of new beginnings, of life. But not for you. Over the many, many repeats, it became your nemesis—the season of endings, of death.
Fingers intertwined with his, you grazed your thumb over his scarred knuckles. Tears burned your eyes and parched your throat, but his weakened state had you in a chokehold; you couldn’t cry—not yet. So, you swallowed painfully and forced the smile he loved so much onto your face.
“I wish you didn’t have to see me go,” he said, his voice a broken whisper. "I'm sorry for putting you through this, love."
You cupped his cheek tenderly and leaned forward, kissing his freckles that looked like the constellations you pointed to whenever the night sky was clear, as he held you in his arms on the small balcony of your apartment. It was one of the first things you noticed about him when he had walked into your flower shop and nervously asked for the prettiest flower bouquet you had.
Your response was far from professional, as you laughed lightly and told him, “Beauty is subjective, you know.”
His cheeks flushed a rosy color at your words, yet his lips curled into a boyish grin. “That's...uh—” Scratching the back of his neck, he averted his gaze. “I’m not really sure what to look for. I’ve never bought flowers for anyone except my mom before. Could you, maybe, help me choose?”
“Mm, sure, but there’s a price,” you said, tapping a finger to your chin. His eyes, vivid green like a meadow in summer, grew wide. “Tell me a bit about the lady or gentleman that’s about to receive them.”
A curly lock fell on his forehead as he sighed with relief, his broad shoulders relaxing in the formal shirt he wore. You eyed his tie briefly, suppressing another chuckle at how imperfectly cute the knot was, then stepped from behind the counter and nodded to him to follow you.
As promised, he told you a bit about the lady he was about to go on a date with. "She reminds me of the sun, always radiating warmth and energizing everyone around her," was his description of her; nothing sophisticated, yet you could feel the care he put into the simplicity of his words.
Your smile didn’t falter once as you listened to him talk and answered his questions. Every day, you dealt with all kinds of people, but not many of them radiated the sincerity he did. Needless to say, your heart skipped with appreciation for this handsome stranger.
A breath of fresh air, that was what he was—one that you had never regretted inhaling deep into your lungs.
A profound love, that was what he became—one that you couldn’t bring yourself to let go of.
Your best friend, your lover, your hero, your everything now lay in a pristine hospital bed, hooked to beeping machines, surrounded by air that smelled of antiseptic and something stale, and with death creeping in closer and closer.
“Would you choose me again?” he asked, his voice losing its color.
“Always.”
With the remnants of his strength, his fingers brushed your cheek, and he whispered. “I love you. If only we…had more…time.”
It was those final words that made your whole world collapse each time, that made you grip the front of your shirt and place one last kiss on his lips, that forced your head to settle on his chest and listen to his heartbeat growing fainter.
“I love you too,” you said, asphyxiated by your tears. “I c-can’t—I can’t let go. I…I don’t k-know how. Please.”
And you begged and begged for him to stay just a little bit longer, even as he drew his last breath and his heart came to a halt underneath your ear. Even as the beeping machines screamed and screamed until they lost their sound. Even as the room became stiflingly crowded with frantic people who tried to rip you away from him.
Death never cared, never granted your wish. So, neither did you care about it, always making sure to get in its way and disrupt the natural flow.
Throughout many lifetimes, you’d heard people vow to each other to meet in the afterlife or another life, believing they were each other’s forever. You’d seen them hold onto that belief as the love of their lives faded from existence. And they almost convinced you, but you weren’t them, and they didn’t have what you had—a nemesis of a quirk that became your greatest blessing after you met him.
Unwilling to surrender to their idea of forever and viciously stubborn, you chose to stare death down in defiance, laugh in its face, and pay the price.
Every.
Single.
Time.
Gripping his still-warm hand, you whispered “I’ll see you soon”, and closed your eyes for the ninety-ninth time.
As you opened them for the hundredth time, your dimly lit flower shop welcomed you again. It wasn't long until, drenched by the pouring rain battering the windows, he pushed the door open and stepped inside. Water dripped from his clothes, his hair, and the flower bouquet you sent him off with earlier. He looked like he’d been to hell and just come back. His green eyes, once vibrant and sparkling with life, were muted and brimming with tears when they found yours.
“I realize this…this might seem odd to you, and I apologize for showing up like this, but I…I just…” He let the flower bouquet fall to the floor, allowing his hands to hide the tears that slid down his freckled cheeks. “Is it crazy to admit you were the one I thought of after she broke my heart?”
“A little, but I guess I made an impression,” you joked, and stepped away from the counter, opening your arms. “Need a hug? It’s free. I promise.”
He peeked through his fingers, giving you a long, uncertain look, before his hands lowered and he nodded hesitantly. “...If you don’t mind.”
His arms, strong and safe, wrapped around you, seeking comfort from a stranger. Your arms, weak and numb, wrapped around him, finding what he represented: home.
“Thank you,” he muttered in the crook of your neck as you patted his back softly. “Is there a way I can make it up to you?”
“You can start by giving me your name.”
Droplets of water gathered at the tips of his hair and fell on your cheeks once he raised his head. Green eyes searched yours, basking in the honeyed light of your shop. He looked at you with curiosity, while you looked at him with familiarity.
A meeting of two broken hearts—a first time and a repeat. Today, someone broke his heart, and he cried for a lost love. But today, unbeknownst to him, he stumbled upon another someone who loved him beyond reason, beyond death, beyond time.
Taking a step back, he extended his hand to you. “Midoriya Izuku.”
The smile that he would come to love once again curled on your lips as you took his hand and placed your name in the palm of it. Along with your heart and soul. For the hundredth time.
Because for Izuku, you would defy death and relive it all again.
The time loop would never be broken.
And your love would be everlasting.

1901 (Sebastian Sallow x F!MC)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
so. I generated the middle photo with midjourney months ago and people on tiktok seemed to like it 😂 probably because we are desperately in need of some happy endings….
which brought my aching little heart to write a painfully self-indulgent one-shot based off of said picture (ft. my two brainchildren). this is from October and I’m cringing; I feel like I’ve improved a bit since but we’re here for vibes so who cares.
Synopsis: the year is 1901, and after a lifetime of dealing with the turmoil he became so accustomed to, Sebastian has finally gotten everything he could ever want. a night with his wife and best friends reminds him exactly how lucky he is.
Warnings: slightly suggestive reference (but still keepin it SFW), dad!Seb and Ominis, tooth-rotting fluff, aged up characters, alcohol use, pregnancy, not edited just raw word vomit
The stone and wood that made up Hogsmeade had hardly weathered since the first year Sebastian could remember coming, when he was a sprightly six year old boy with his parents. Back then, the buildings had looked larger than life. The people seemed wonderful and strange and extraordinary; their wands aloft to float signs or move merchandise. He had tugged on the folds of his mother's skirt upon staring with rapt attention, whining, "Mummy! When do *I* get to make things fly?"
"Soon, sweetling." His mother had smiled, the most beautiful sight he could comprehend at that tender age. "Soon, you yourself could be flying above the clouds."
Now, Sebastian found himself doing just that.
Cold wood bit into the callouses of his palms, which gripped the handle of his broom securely as the biting October wind tousled his dark hair into knots. He might have already frozen solid where he sat, had it not been the warming charm on his coat and the heat of his wife's smaller body pressed up against his back.
She shouted something just then amidst the roar of the wind in his ears. Sebastian turned for a split second to get a glimpse of the wide grin on her flushed, freckled cheeks.
The most beautiful sight in the world to him now.
"What?" He chuckled, turning back around as they neared the stone path leading into the quaint village.
"I said; they're going to have our heads for being late, so you better take full responsibility." Raegan repeated with her lips grazing Sebastian's ear.
Another laugh was dragged from his dry throat. Raegan had a special ability that when beyond just her fire-wielding, ancient magic, and skills on a broom. She was also one of the only people in the world who could make him laugh without really trying.
"I don't suppose you want me to tell them WHY?" Sebastian replied wryly as they landed and climbed stiffly off of the broom. The feeling of solid ground beneath their feet was a certainly a relief after miles of dark skies above the Highlands.
Raegan gave him a taunting little smirk that he'd come to understand was one she reserved especially for her husband. "Doubt you'll have to. It's hard to hide anything from those two. Ominis will probably sniff us out the moment we enter the pub."
She smoothed down the wild, russet tangle of waves Sebastian had run his hands through just an hour ago as they walked hand in hand over the bridge. He smiled at the memory as if he could still feel the softness of each lock between his fingers.
"I have considered the theory that he's part bloodhound."
The pair came to the familiar, flickering facade of the Three Broomsticks, pausing just outside when Sebastian tugged on Raegan’s hand to bring her to a stop beside him (a feat in itself, really).
“You know…” he mused, eyes crinkling at her questioning look. “Technically, we had our first date here.”
“If you call nearly getting…what were the words you used? Pulverized by a troll a romantic outing.” She laughed.
“Don’t forget the bar fight you nearly got me into. Honestly, it’s a wonder I managed to stick around for so long, with all the trouble you bring.”
The words were made in obvious jest and followed by an affectionate press of his winter-chapped lips to her temple. Because they both knew damn well that trouble was Sebastian’s middle name (it could replace Alexander for all he cared), and that chaotic whirlwind of a fifth year when they’d met was precisely what had him falling head over heels for her in record time.
“Well, as much as I love a good troll fight…the only thing you have to be scared of tonight is Ominis.”
A half-hearted scoff had Sebastian’s breath clouding in the air. “I wasn’t scared.”
“I’m surprised you didn’t wet yourself.”
“I was not scared!”
Raegan grinned indulgently at her husband, who rolled his eyes at the all-too-familiar teasing. Still, Sebastian found himself imitating her expression as he pulled her flush against his side and leaned down to fit his mouth to hers.
How many times had he enjoyed the saccharine taste that clung to every bit of her skin? It was far, far too many to count, surely, and the proof was in the way their lips moulded together like two pieces of a well-loved puzzle.
A rush of warmth hit their wind-chapped skin once the couple had finally broken apart, Sebastian opening the door for his distinctly kiss-drunk wife.
The Three Broomsticks was just as he remembered, too. Sirona, ever the dedicated businesswoman, spotted them instantly and offered a friendly wave. That was almost certainly Mr. Pippin and Mr. Hill chatting jovially over pints, and that blasted portrait of Ferdinand Pratt that had somehow withstood the ire of the patrons.
Raegan breathed the smallest of fires into her cupped hands before rubbing them together to generate more heat. It was not needed, though; for their friends had clearly planned ahead and already snagged the table just adjacent to the roaring hearth in the back center of the first floor.
Ominis's corn silk hair seemed to reflect its golden light, acting as a beacon for the Gyrffindor and Slytherin alumni to meander their way through the crowd and plop down eagerly at the round mahogany table.
"I was just about to send a Patronus if you hadn't shown up in the next five minutes." Diana gave them both an exasperated look, her brows shooting up as she took in their disheveled appearances. "Did you fly here?"
"Of course we did. It's a gorgeous night." Raegan leaned in to give her lifelong friend (sister might have been a more accurate term) a hug, despite the smaller girl's grumbling.
Ominis, who had his arm slung casually against the back of his wife’s chair, shook his head at Sebastian and Raegan like a disappointed father. It was a gesture so familiar to them both that it had been permanently seared in the back of their minds.
"Well, while you two were wasting time doing god knows what and flying fifty miles instead of Apparating like reasonable people, we've already been through half a flagon of wine." Ominis held up his half-full goblet as evidence.
The Hogwarts Professor was usually not one to indulge so heavily, but with the start of a new school year keeping him busy and his youngest daughter clinging to the chaos of her terrible twos, Sebastian supposed he had more than enough reason tonight.
"Well, you know me. I'll catch up in no time." Sebastian said with a roguish grin as he poured the rich, sweet-smelling liquid into a goblet that had clearly been waiting patiently for him.
Ominis, ever the gentleman, waved his wand to take serve Raegan from the flagon next, its contents tipping into a fourth cup.
"Oh, er...none for me, Ominis; thank you." Raegan said politely, the flush from the cold now returning for an entirely different reason.
His eyebrows furrowed into a mask of disbelief, as though the very fabric of the world had suddenly been torn open. "Are you ill? Or has someone taken Polyjuice Potion and replaced your wife, Sebastian?"
Raegan couldn't help but pair her laugh with an eye roll at Ominis's over dramatic display of surprise over her refusal to drink. Though she supposed it was true, there were very few times in her life she'd turned down a casual drink.
"Oh my-"
Diana's soft gasp broke the suspenseful silence, her pale, delicate fists causing ripples in their goblets as they collided with the table's surface. "I knew it! I told you that dream was a vision, Ominis!"
Now it was Raegan and Sebastian's turn to look confused, their shifting eyes replacing the self-indulgent grins they'd donned long before they'd arrived in the village.
"What dream?" Raegan asked, grabbing her friend's hand to recapture the raven-haired Seer's attention. "What did you see?"
Sebastian could see the tension in her grip, the light reflected by the fireplace that shone in her brilliant amber eyes. She had been dying to share this news; and if he knew her at all, Raegan was nearly bursting to deliver it herself before Diana could answer.
But it appeared her curiosity had won out over her flair for the dramatics at the present moment.
Diana beamed when she met Raegan’s imploring stare. Her voice had lowered, as if sharing an important secret.
"Last week, I dreamt of a little girl. She had the most beautiful auburn hair. Plus these adorable freckles and big, brown eyes. She was playing outside your house with a boy who looked exactly like Samuel, if he were ten years older."
Sebastian and Raegan both sported round, awestruck eyes that flickered to each other before they returned to Diana.
"Wait, I'm having a girl?" Raegan squealed, getting miles ahead of herself while Sebastian put the pieces of the puzzle together in her head.
"It's a girl?!" He gaped at the same moment.
Now, his other two friends were forgotten; his gaze solely on his exuberant wife, tears brimming despite himself.
A girl. It seemed all too perfect. A daughter and a son. Just like him and Anne, and Raegan and her brother Ronan.
"Oh...sur...prise?" Diana smiled sheepishly. "So, are you going to say it, or not?"
"It seems pointless now, since you’ve stolen my spotlight," Raegan raised her brow playfully in the beautiful Seer's direction. "But yes...I'm pregnant!"
Ominis's face broke into a huge smile, its brilliance so rare the honor was rarely bestowed upon anyone , save for the three people seated at the table now.
"Congratulations, Raegan. And you, Sebastian."
Diana began to gush as she hopped up from her seat, throwing her arms around her best friend once more. "This is amazing! How far along are you? Do you have any names picked out yet? How's your morning sickness? Mine was positively awful with both of the girls, I couldn't-"
Ominis chuckled affectionately at her elation. Gently, he placed a guiding hand on her arm to bring her back down to Earth - which was usually her least favorite place to be. "Darling, you're doing it again. Let her breathe for a moment."
To her credit, Diana looked positively pink as she relented and settled back down in her chair without losing her grin.
"Sorry, Rae. I'm just...so happy for you two."
"To answer your questions as my poor wife gathers herself, Di," Sebastian echoed Ominis's affectionate sound with his fingers intertwining through Raegan's. "She's seven weeks along, which is why we weren't sure about telling you just yet. But i suppose now is as good a time as any. And, for names, we were thinking-"
"Kassady Anne." Raegan jumped in for him, squeezing his hand as if she could pour all the love she had into that one gesture.
Diana almost teared up at this revelation, as Ominis let out an uncharacteristic, "aww". The namesakes of Raegan's late mother and Sebastian's only sister. It hadn't been a very difficult decision to come to. Though Sebastian had tried to insist on Anne as the first name in their hypothetical discussions.
"Fair warning," Ominis broke in, a knowing grin stretching his pale face. "Your second child will be your undoing. Little menace; our Gwen."
"Hey, I'm a second child." Raegan retorted, though her offense was clearly falsified. Nothing could break through the bubble of pure joy that seemed to radiate from her like the rays of the sun.
"I think you're proving his point, my love." Sebastian smirked. He barely dodged the well-aimed elbow to his side with a soft sound of indignation.
Ominis raised his glass once more after happily listening to the familiar sounds of his friends' excited chatter. "To Helen, Gwen, Sam, and Kassady-may they leave their own remarkable legacy on the world under our expert guidance."
The four of them all laughed, the sound like a chorus of church bells signifying the end of a long, fulfilling day. Three glasses of wine and one filled with water were raised in celebration, connecting the circle of lifelong friends with a resounding clink.
It had been over ten years since they'd all first sat in this pub together. Back then, the topics of conversation had centered around the goblin rebellion, Professor Black's latest warpath, and the homework that had led to countless sleepless nights.
In a way, things hadn't changed all that much. Except the rebellions now came in the form of arrests made by Raegan at the Auror's office or the tantrums of Ominis and Diana's three year old daughter. War was still in the backs of their minds, but for the most part their arms had been laid down in favor of peace.
And the sleepless nights, well...
Sebastian's mind again wandered back to the blissful visit of his youth. How he'd been unsatisfied with his feet on the ground, longing to soar above the rest.
Now, he got to feel like that every day of his life. No broom required.

Tumblr media
Second Person POV:
"Udaku, please escort princess Y/N to her room. Make sure she doesn't attempt to pull anymore stunts." your father ordered Shuri.
"Yes, sir." she said with a single nod of her head.
Earlier you had once again left the kingdoms boundaries against your fathers orders to spend time in your favorite spot, the dandelion field. It was located a little ways beyond the kingdom walls that your father forbidden you to exit without a guard for your safety, as you were the princess of Wakanda.
But you didn't care. You quite frankly hated the fact that you were born into royalty because of all the responsibilities it came with. Your parents were always very strict with you, telling you how your focus should be on learning to run the kingdom instead of "playing games and your precious flower field" in their words.
You just wished that you were normal person living a normal life. On the other hand, your knight, Shuri Udaku, couldn't understand why on earth you would ever want to run away from the royal life. You lived in a beautiful palace, had all the delicious food you could hope for, and people who would protect you and do chores for you.
She was annoyed, but found it hard to hate you because you were always so sweet to everyone. Honestly, she thought you were gorgeous and she didn't like to think about it, but she might actually have real feelings for you.
But she couldn't help but be jealous of you. She didn't understand why you had so many privileges, yet didn't want them. Meanwhile, she was living off of the minimal salary she earned from being your knight.
You noticed the subtle glares and irritable heavy sighs Shuri would give you, but you didn't get why she was like that to you. You tried to be nice and make conversation when you first met, but it just seemed like she didn't want to and was only there to do her job, then go home.
So you began to be just as unfriendly to her as she was to you, creating tension between the two of you. If she wanted to be stone-hearted towards you, then you would do the same to her.
As you stood up from the large dinner table, Shuri stayed at your side, walking you to your bedroom.
"Have a nice night, princess." she spoke blankly when you arrived at your door.
She turned to walk away but you stopped her, "Are you like this towards everyone?" you asked.
She turned back around to look at you, "I'm not sure what you mean by that, princess."
"What I mean is that you're always so cold to me. It makes it seem like you hate me or something." you said, explaining what you were trying to say.
"Look, I'm just trying to do my job so I can earn money to afford to live in an actual house with four walls and a roof. Something you'll never have to worry about." she snarked.
"I'm sorry that's the case for you, but that doesn't mean you have to act like a total jerk to people who haven't done anything to you. Seriously, what is your problem?" you voiced, wanting real answers for her behavior towards you.
She just blinked at you for a few seconds, "Good night, princess." she muttered before turning around and walking off.
You sighed, feeling defeated and confused. You didn't know what you did to make the knight dislike you so much. You really just wanted to be able to talk to her without your conversations turning into snarky remarks.
You didn't like to think about the feelings you might have for her either. You've seen the way she laughs and smiles when talking with other guards, and deep down you think it's adorable despite how poorly you two get along.
So let's just say things were complicated.
As the day was now coming to an end you got ready for bed, changing out of your dress and into a white silk nightgown. You read a few chapters off the book you had started in the dandelion field earlier before setting it down and turning off the lamp on your bedside table, falling asleep for the night.
~~~
Meanwhile, it was very late at night, nearing 1:00 am when the gates at the front of the kingdom had been breached. Your parents were immediately informed of the situation, and they had no doubt in their mind that it was their rivals attacking for the second time.
They've always had their minds set on capturing you, but no one knew why. That was the reason why your father was so strict with you leaving the kingdom  and who you left with.
The more skilled defense force immediately sprang into action and started fighting back, but they came prepared with more numbers this time around. So it was clear that they might actually succeed in their goal this time.
Your father searched for Shuri, finding her in the armory where she was putting on her gear to go help, "Udaku! You're my best knight, I trust you. I want you to get my daughter, and take her to the safe house I told you about during your training. Go out the back gate, and don't come back until I send someone out to get you, understand?"
"Yes, sir. I won't let you down. The princess will be safe with me." she responded knowing not to question the king, going to follow his orders.
She ran up to the palace bedrooms and knocked on your door, not even waiting for a response before entering knowing that you were probably asleep.
"Princess," she whispered, gently shaking you awake. You tiredly mumble a few incoherent words.
"Princess, I know it is the middle of the night, but you need to get up now. Your father has ordered me to take you to the safe house as those people are back to get you again." she quickly explained.
You sat up to look at her as best as you could. The only light in the room being the moonlight that shines through the window, "Why should I go with you? For all I know you hardly like me, so what makes you think I'd believe you care about my safety?"
"You will go with me if you'd like to continue living freely. Who knows what they will do to you if they finally get their hands on you." she responds, and you just roll your eyes.
Throwing the covers off of your body, you stand to your feet and begin to go through the drawers filled with your clothes.
"What're you doing? We have no time for that, we need to go before they block the back gate off." she grabs your hand and leads you out of the room, rushing down hallway that'll get you outside the quickest.
Trying to avoid all of the commotion, she hopes that she has enough time to get to the stables. Her horse would be the most efficient way to get you out of here, so she makes fast moves of getting it out of the stall.
"If we don't run into any interferences and all goes as planned, then we should get there in no more than thirty minutes." she spoke, helping you onto the horse.
"You must be so excited to spend a half hour this close to me." you muttered under your breath, wrapping your arms around her waist to hold on.
"Ok, can we not do this right now. There are people actively trying to kidnap you, so we don't have time for this." she said, sounding annoyed and you just huffed as she quickly led the horse out of the stables and in the direction of where you needed to go.
When you arrived she helped you off the horse and guided you inside the small, secluded house. It was located in the woods, so all of the trees made it uneasy to spot, especially at night.
"What're we supposed to do now?" you asked, turning on the dim light and looking around the unfamiliar room.
"Sit and wait. Keep you out of harms way until your father sends someone out to come get us." she answered blankly. "If you want to go back to sleep, the bedroom is in there." she pointed towards the only other door in the house besides the front door.
You of course were tired considering you were woken up from your sleep in the middle of the night, and then drug half an hour away from your kingdom.
So you entered the bedroom, closing the door and dusting off the sheets before climbing into the bed. Laying there awake for few minutes, you didn't think you'd get to sleep anytime soon now that the scary reality of the situation was setting in.
You still tried to fall asleep until you heard yelling in the distance coming from outside. You sat up and looked out the window that was right next to your bed. You saw the warm lights of lanterns through the trees, but the people who were holding them did not have warm intentions.
They were the people who were looking for you.
You were about to get up to get Shuri until she opened the door and rushed to the window, looking out of it just as you were.
"Do they know we're here?" you asked with a shaky voice.
She stared out the glass for a few more seconds before answering, "I don't think so. It's night, so we're well hidden." she answered, standing up straight to leave the room.
"Where are you going?" you spoke with a small voice.
"To go keep watch. Someone has to make sure you stay safe." she responded as she started to shut the door.
"Wait. Please stay with me." you quietly whimpered out.
Shuri turned around to spit out a snide remark, but bit her tongue when she saw your eyes glistening with tears.
"...please." you repeated softly, "I'm scared."
Her heart practically shattered into pieces at those words. Everything she convinced herself to feel for you before disintegrated as compassion and the desire to comfort you took over.
She immediately took off her heavy armor, leaving her in her black compression shirt and pants. She climb into bed with you, letting you curl up to her, gripping her shirt so tightly she thought it might rip.
Her hand went to rub your back over your lace nightgown, "Shhh it's okay. I'm here, I'm so sorry." she whispered.
"I know you hate me because I annoy you or whatever, but can you please just stay here the rest of the night?" you sniffled.
If it was possible, her heart broke even more hearing you think that she didn't like you, "Of course, but I don't want you to think I hate you."
You looked up at her through teary eyes, "What?"
She sighed, "Princess, if anything I'm infatuated with you. I know how I treated you, but I was jealous. You had everything I didn't have, yet you didn't want it. You wanted to run off and read books in a dandelion field." she lightly chuckled at the last sentence.
You were shocked, but confused at her words, "You could've just talked to me about how you felt."
"I know. I know, and I should've. But I'm not very good with that kind of stuff so I tried to convince that if I acted like I hated you, then those feelings would go away, but I just can't anymore." she said and you stayed silent.
"Now you’re probably the one that hates me." she mumbled mostly to herself.
"What? Shuri, I could never hate you. I just thought you did, so I reciprocated. All I wanted was for you to like me because I knew I liked you." you admitted and her heart fluttered hearing you say that.
She gazed down at you, everything in her body was screaming at her to kiss you, but she could see how your eyes were struggling to stay open. So she opted to just save it for another time when the circumstances where also better.
"I'm sorry. I guess I kind of fueled the fire." you spoke quietly.
"No, don't apologize. I should be the one saying that. But you look like you're gonna pass out any second, so go to sleep." she said in a hushed voice and you giggled, laying your head on her chest.
She wrapped her arms around you, mentally lecturing herself for the way she acted and not telling you sooner.
But both of your secrets are out, and it seems like the only way for your relationship to go now is up.
Once Upon a Time
Dark!Dorian x reader
A/n: Ive been a sucker for Dorian lately I cannot stop thinking about him. I’m also loving @shadowdaddies dark!Manorian series rn, definitely go check it out.
Warnings: dark!dorian, manipulation
Tumblr media
“There you are pet. I’ve been looking for you everywhere.” Dorian’s voice sent chills down your spine as you bask in the afternoon sun. The thrill he gives you after being together the last two years still brings a smile to your face. Like you’re being chased by him in your own home. You look up at him from your spot in the plush grass. The castle gardens are so beautiful this time of year, you can never resist spending your days out here when the weather finally turns.
Dorian sits next to you lightly kissing your forehead. A small blush creeps on to your cheeks as you softly respond, “Hi.” He smiles at you, holding your chin between his thumb and forefinger Dorian tilts your head back a little so your eyes meet his sapphire ones. “What are you doing out here sweet girl? Shouldn’t you be wedding planning.” Your face falls. You’re not avoiding planning the most exciting day of your life. You just needed a break from how suffocating the dining room felt with all the flower samples, and napkin samples, and everything else that was carted into the palace for your approval.
“I just needed a moment to myself.” Dorian gives you a sympathetic pout before pulling you onto his lap so your back rested against his chest. “I know things like this can be stressful my love. I’m here if you want me more involved. Come find me next time and we can sit together, ok?” You nod against his strong chest, settling into his warm embrace.
It took a lot to earn Dorian’s trust just so you could come out and enjoy the gardens. While you are allowed to wander the castle on your own Dorian prefers to be with you when you find yourself outdoors. When he found you this time you could tell he was slightly panicked that you didn’t at least have a guard with you. Dorian was always afraid that you’d be taken from him or that you’d run. But you’d never do that. Dorian keeps you safe, you couldn’t imagine life without him.
“Before we go back can you tell me a story? I just want to stay out here for a bit longer.” A small chuckle leaves his full lips. “What story do you want sweet girl?” You think for a moment, “The one where you first saw me and then we met.” Dorian smiles at you as you stare up at him with this innocent doe eyes. “You got it.”
Dorian adjusts you so you’re in a more comfortable position cuddled up to him. “Once upon a time there was a girl who lived in Rifthold. She was the most beautiful girl the King of Adarlan had ever seen. He was absolutely enchanted by her. She’s so kind and sweet, how could he resist her? The king had to meet. One day he took a trip to her flower shop in the city. When they finally met he was so nervous to speak he couldn’t get a word out.
“She was just so smiley and bubbly he couldn’t interrupt her. When the king laid in bed that night all he could think of was the flower girl. Days and weeks went by where he watched the flower girl from afar. When the king finally learned her name it was all he could think of. Y/n. He kept repeating it, practicing saying it for the next time they met. Slowly but surely they fell for each other and the king couldn’t bear another day apart.
“The king watched his sweet y/n. A man walked into her shop and he ended up being belligerent and rude. The king couldn’t have that so he dealt with the man and brought his sweet y/n to the castle where she would be safe with the king forever.”
You remember that day. Gods you were terrified as you hid behind the counter and prayed for Dorian to save you. Everything had been a blur that evening and when you woke up the next morning you were in Dorian’s bed. All your stuff had been moved to the castle. You had tried to leave, something had felt wrong to you. But Dorian had insisted that you must stay until he deemed it safe for you to return home. Eventually you didn’t want to return home. You wanted to stay with Dorian and he was more than happy to have you stay with him.
You turn to straddle him, wrapping your arms around his neck. “I love that story.” You say softly. Dorian brings his hands up to hold your face, stroking your cheek with his thumb. “And I love you sweet girl.” He softly kisses your lips then your nose. “Let’s go back inside darling. We can do wedding planning together, hmm.” “Sounds perfect.” Dorian scoops you up in his arms heading back to the dining room.
He did everything to keep you from seeing his anger at the lack of guards in the garden. Barely any were by the gates. Dorian would be having words with Chaol about that. Gods forbid you ran and he couldn’t find you.
I'd love that 🥺
yes thank u for biting I’ve wanted to write more for this ship since the last one I wrote <3
——
Jane breathed deeply, smoothing her pink dress before she knocked, a bout of anxiety coursing through her as she twiddled with the skirt, so far from her usual dark attire but she knew the light pink would look pretty next to whatever yellow ensemble her date would don. Coupled with the yellow hair clip she’d stolen from Nymphia the last time she spent the night, Jane felt pretty and lighthearted, but more nervous than she’d ever felt before a date.
Though, the moment Nymphia opened the door to her apartment, she was like a breath of fresh air, knocking the wind from Jane all at once.
“Hi,” Jane said, her thick accent coming through like it always did when she was nervous, thrusting a bouquet of yellow roses into Nymphia’s hands. She cleared her throat. “Sorry, my accent always comes through when I’m anxious.”
Nymphia laughed, making Jane’s heart skip a beat. “Hi, Jane, and yes, I know” she said softly, sniffing the sweet smelling roses and taking Jane’s hand. “You don’t have to be nervous though, this isn’t a normal first date. We’re already girlfriends, who just happened to have not had a real first date.”
The sentiment was simple, but it worked in making Jane’s nerves disappear. She fake gasped, feigning offense. “So those drunken nights where we sat on the floor and ate takeout after fucking for hours weren’t dates to you?”
Nymphia laughed, throwing her head back. “ of course they do, this is just our first date outside of that little routine. You look beautiful, by the way.”
“So do you, a vision in yellow,” she laughed, comfort suddenly blooming in her. This was nothing to be nervous about, it was technically a first date but a first date with Nymphia who was just about as comforting as a soft warm blanket and a cup of hot tea on a cold day.
“Well, you know me, mellow in yellow some might say.”
Jane rolled her eyes lightheartedly. “Are you ready to go? I’ve got a very special day planned for us.”
Setting her flowers on the side table near her front door, she grabbed her things and took Jane’s arm, chattering idly while they walked to Jane’s car.
Nymphia’s easy chatter carried them all the way to their destination, a pretty botanical garden where butterflies fluttered about, landing on the people who walked through.
“Oh Jane,” Nymphia swooned, about to jump out of the car in excitement, “I’ve always wanted to come to a place like this!”
Jane blushed, a light dusting of rose petal pink over her cheeks. “I remember you telling me that a while ago.”
Standing on her tip toes, Nymphia pressed a gentle kiss to Jane’s cheek. “Everyone’s wrong about you, you know? You’re totally not a bitch.”
“Wow, that’s the thanks I get for making your dream date come true? I get it,” Jane chuckled, shaking her head.
“I’m just kidding, I love it. Thank you for taking me here. Should we go?”
Hand in hand, Jane led Nymphia to the entrance of the garden, paying for both of their fees and leading her inside to the paved walking path.
“This really is beautiful,” Nymphia said after a bit of comfortable silence while they walked.
Jane shrugged. “It’s nice, but really, it’s you I can’t stop looking at.”
Just as she said that, a big yellow butterfly landed on Nymphia’s head, fluttering it’s wings like it found a home there.
“Hold still,” Jane said softly, pulling out her phone and snapping several pictures, setting her favorite as her Lock Screen, “there,” she said proudly, showing Nymphia her new background.
“Hey, wait, that’s not fair. Now you’ve gotta let me take one of you!”
As of on queue, a blue butterfly landed on Jane, right on her shoulder.
“Your turn to hold still,” Nymphia giggled, pulling out her phone and repeating what Jane just did, choosing her favorite photo carefully and setting it as her phone’s Lock Screen.
They stayed at the garden as long as they were allowed, watching the sun set from one of the stone benches. Nymphia laid her head on Jane’s shoulder, signing contently. “This has been a perfect day.”
Jane found her hand, lacing their fingers together. “Do you think we could have more of these?”
“I sure hope so,” Nymphia replied whistfully, “you know, someday I want to take you to Taiwan. It’s really beautiful there and I think you’d love it.”
‘Someday’ made Jane feel a bit anxious, briefly worried that there wouldn’t be a ‘someday’ with Nymphia but the look on Nymphia’s face and the gentle way she kissed Jane’s bare shoulder told her otherwise.
“I think I’d really love that.”
Not Quite A Walk In The Park
The asks in my inbox are coming, I swear! A few of them have just tottered off plan like unruly toddlers for the moment...and while working on wrangling them back on track, I got a little distracted and couldn't quite leave this one alone. Can be read as a stand alone, but in my head it follows on the day after I Only Have Eyes For You
~*~
You’re rarely on time for anything, never mind early, but here you are waiting for Melissa at your agreed meeting spot twenty minutes ahead of time.  You’re a walking cliché of a girl in love but you can’t bring yourself to care.  This is your second date with Melissa Schemmenti, the woman you’ve been pining after for months, so you figure you’re allowed to be a little excited.
As familiar red hair catches the sun, you can’t help but smile.  As she approaches, you take advantage of the fact that you’re now allowed to look without care of being caught.  You want her to know you find her stunning.
“Hey you!” you grin as she draws level with you, leaning in to press a kiss to her cheek.
“Hey,” she mumbles in reply, her cheeks blushing prettily.
Offering her an arm, you nod in the direction of the café.  “Shall we?”
She looks at you for a moment before linking her arm with yours.  You think perhaps it’s just that you’re not used to walking so closely with her, but she feels stiff next to you.  The further you walk, however, the more concerned you become when not only are her steps stilted, but her words.
Passing a bench, you bring you both to a halt, sitting and bringing her with you thanks to your linked arms.  You stare at her intently, but she keeps her eyes firmly on her feet.  “Okay, I’m not usually one for confrontation but what the hell is going on?  Last night you were all ‘I don’t want you to leave’ and today you can barely look at me.”
“I had the night to think.”
So few words and yet they knock the breath from you.  It takes you a few attempts to get any words to leave your mouth, despair and anger fighting to be heard first.  “So what?  You regret last night already?”
She shakes her head, letting out a sigh, looking small and defeated.  “No.  No, that’s not it.  I just don’t wanna make you have regrets.”
You frown, not understanding.  “What?”
She extricates her arm from yours, wringing her fingers together in her lap.  “I never thought I had a shot with you.  I’m literally old enough to be your mom and you’re going to want things I can’t give you.  You should be out living your life, not walking an old geriatric like me around the park on a Sunday.”
Oh.  That you weren’t expecting.  You’re so used to Melissa being her bold, beautiful self that this flash of insecurity takes you quite by surprise.  You had hoped you had made it clear the evening before that when you looked at her you saw her exactly as she was and saw exactly what you wanted.  “What things?” you ask, finally.
“What about kids?” she mumbles.
“What about kids?” you repeat incredulously.  “I kiss you once and I want kids?  I’ve never wanted kids.”
Her eyes fly up to meet yours.  “What?  But you’re-“
“So good with them?” you cut her off.  “You have no idea how many times I’ve heard that.  I love what I do in teaching, but I don’t want kids of my own, Melissa.  I never have.  Is this really what you were so hung up on?”
“It’s a big thing,” she replies defensively.
You nod.  “It is, yeah.  Do you…is that a deal breaker for you?” you ask hesitantly, half terrified to hear her answer.
She shakes her head, her hair falling across her shoulder to hide her face.  “Joe…he made me think I did.  That being a ‘proper’ family was what we needed.”  She pauses, and a long moment passes before she speaks again.  “It ended up in a miscarriage.”  She lets out a shuddering breath.  “In a way it was the best thing that could have happened, what with the way things turned out.”
Your heart breaks for the woman sitting next to you, and you reach out, covering her trembling hands with her own.  “I’m so sorry that happened to you.”
“I survived,” she says with a shrug of false bravado.
“You’re amazing, you know that?” you say quietly, reaching to tuck her hair back over her shoulder so you can see her face.  Her lip trembles and her eyes are glassy with unshed tears.
She lets out a wet laugh.  “You know flattery won’t get you any further than it already has, right?”
You smile back at her, please she feels she can tease you again.  “I’m not saying it to get anything.  I mean it.  I think you’re amazing, Melissa.”
She sniffs, wiping at her eyes.  “I just don’t wanna hold you back from the life you should be living.  You’re young and-“
You’ve tried words.  This time you cut her off with a kiss.  Pulling back, you lean your forehead against hers.  “I never thought I had a shot with you either, Melissa, but now I do, I don’t want it all to go to hell because we’re on different pages in different books.  How about next time you invent some weird life I’m apparently missing out on you run it by me, huh?  Because from where I’m sitting, I hit the jackpot.”
She blushes.  “I’m sorry.  I didn’t mean to ruin today.  I just got all up in my head.”
You nod, pulling back so you can look at her.  “I know this is all new and scary, but please believe me when I say I want to be here, with you.  It’s all I’ve wanted for months.  Just ask Ava,” you laugh, only to quickly think the better of your words.  The woman knows too much.  Has heard you drunkenly confess your love for the red head.  “In fact no, don’t ask Ava.  Definitely don’t ask Ava!”
Melissa raises an eyebrow, intrigued at your sudden outburst.
You stand from the bench, offering your hand.  “Lunch?”
“Don’t think I don’t see you changing the subject,” smirks the red head.  “I think I might quite like to hear what Ava has to say.”  She reaches out, taking your hand, but doesn’t move.  “You really wanna do this?”
You take a step forward, dropping her hand in favour of cupping her cheeks, your thumbs stroking over prominent cheek bones.  “I told you before, I’m not playing games here, Melissa. I want this.  I want you.”
Those brilliant green eyes look up at you for a long time.  You do your best not to flinch under the scrutiny, hoping she sees whatever she needs to see in your face.  Finally, a smile begins to tug at the corners of her lips.  “I want this too.”
You lean down to press a gentle kiss to her lips, lingering over the contact.  “Good, because I skipped breakfast for this.  I’m starving.  Sit still much longer and I’ll eat you!”
