Good 4 U (3)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hi guys :)
This is the next and maybe last part of Good 4 U. I had some request for it, so here it is :)
TW : Jealousy mostly. Wälti Reader.
PART 1 | PART 2
______________________________________________________________
Time passes at London and you love your life in here. You love the fact that you can see your sister every day, her girlfriend that you love too. You like the city and the life you are slowly creating in here. You miss travelling sometimes, but when it’s the case you just leave for a couple of days and after that you go back to your house in St-Albans.
And to Katie, obviously. Your girlfriend is really understanding with you, she doesn’t seem to have something bad to say when you leave. She just ask you to be careful of course, but she always manage to be the one driving you to the airport or coming for you when you’re coming home. You have a great bond together and you can see you falling for her a little more every day.
You still work at the café, usually beginning early in the morning because no one wanted to have this schedule. But you like it, even if you have to wake up early, you have your day off at 3:00pm and you are able to make a lot of things after. Usually you see Katie, but sometimes it’s some other friends.
Katie being away for a game last night, you didn’t sleep at her house, or she didn’t sleep at yours. The team slept in a hotel and they are supposed to be back this morning. It’s Monday morning and there isn’t a lot of customers today, so you take the opportunity to go tidy up in the stocks.
“I’m coming” you scream when you hear the doorbell of the door resonate.
You are just putting a cardboard in place when you feel two arms around your waist, making you jump off your skin. You turn around and push the person with all of your strength, only to face the cheeky grin from your girlfriend.
“Are you crazy?!” you almost shout.
“I’m sorry” Katie laughs.
Despite everything, she opened her arms so that you could come and hug her. You glare at her before going for her, passing your arms around her neck while she passes hers around your waist once again.
“I’m glad you know how to defend yourself though. Were you going to hit me?”
“Definitely” you mumble against the skin of her neck, before kissing it. “I had to learn how to fight, it was an exigence from my dad if I wanted to travel the world.”
Katie just hums, not really fond of the idea of you being forced to use your skills in a dark alley on the other side of the globe. Your security is maybe the only things making her worry when you leave alone.
Katie releases you, but it’s only to take delicately your face in one hand to kiss you. You smile against her lip, kissing back.
“I missed you” you whisper against her lips before kissing her again.
“I missed you too. Did you have a great night?”
“Yeah. Coopurr, Teyah, Ella and I watched the game. And after I went home to sleep.”
“I will definitely tell them that you mention the cat first.”
Katie’s looking at you with a grin and you laugh slightly. Her house is full of people sometimes, but you like it. And you like her roommates too, even if it’s hard sometimes to just have time with her. Thanks god, Lia sleeps sometimes at Caitlin’s so you can have your girlfriend only for yourself.
The doorbell resonates again, and you lean over to see who it is. But Katie distracts you, kissing the hollow of your neck and making you shivers. And, before you can see who it is, she turns your face against her to kiss you once again.
“Y/N?”
“It’s Liam” you whisper against Katie’s lips.
She sighs but release you, before following you in in the main room of the establishment. Liam laughs when he sees you and Katie.
“Oho, kissing the customers in the background now?”
“Shut up”
You smile feeling the red coloring your cheeks and watch Katie when she passes you to go and settle on the other side of the counter. Of course she slaps slightly your bum in the process.
“A mango-strawberry smoothie and a coffee pretty please” she smiles.
You chat with Liam and Katie while making her drinks, letting Liam draining the coffee machine.
“What are we doing this afternoon?” Katie asks.
You smile, loving the fact that it’s now “we” not “you” anymore. You raise your eyes on her, thinking before talking.
“Can we just… go home? I miss having you just for myself. Lia is at Leah’s tonight”
“I would love that” Katie assures you before taking the drink you are handing her.
She starts to drink it and you take the command of two men during this time. You still chat a little bit with Katie while she enjoys her smoothie, until the doorbell ring again and Liam greets the newcomer. You have your back facing the entrance so you don’t see her at first.
“Hello there, how can I help you?” Liam says happily.
“Oh uh… I’m looking for someone naming Y/N?”
You frown, turning in the direction of the voice and need two seconds to realize who was asking you. Your peripherical vision see Katie looking at the girl with suspicion.
“Maria? What are you doing here?”
You go around the bar to greet her and take her in your arms.
“I was in London and I remembered you said to my sister that you were working in a café. I asked her the name of it and here I am!”
“It’s great to see you” you smile.
Not forgetting your girlfriend, you take Maria to Katie, smiling at the Irish woman and her very neutral face.
“Katie, this is Maria. I lived in her sister’s house when I was Costa Rica. And Maria, this is Katie, my girlfriend.”
Katie takes Maria’s hand to greets her, but the exchange between the two women is very cold. You don’t realize it though, Liam remembering you that your boss wont take long to come.
“I’m really sorry but now isn’t really the good moment Maria. Give me your number, I’ll call you later, ok?”
Maria nods, write her number on your notepad before hugging you goodbye. When she’s out, Katie following her with her eyes, your girlfriend turn herself in your direction.
“I got to go; I have some laundry to do. But we still hang on together after your job, right?”
“Of course” you smile.
Katie smiles and kisses your cheek before paying for her drink and leaving the café. You can’t stop your pout when she left, but a group of people are entering the place soon after and you have to focus on something else.
********
Some hours later, you are at your house, lying on the couch against Katie. She cooks for you while you took your shower and now you both are just sheeling in front of Lord of the ring. Katie’s choice, but she beats at rock, paper, scissor.
“Who the hell keeps writing you like this?” Katie groans when your phone vibrates on your pocket one more time.
“Maria” you answer, taking your phone in your hand.
“What does she want?”
“Seeing me”
You have your eyes on the screen to type your answer, so you don’t realize Katie’s reaction. She’s not really happy, for a reason that she can’t explain, she thinks that something is off in Maria. But Katie just take a breath before talking.
“And when are you seeing her?”
“I don’t know for now… Maybe she can come watch next Arsenal’s game? So she can see that my girlfriend is talented in addition to being hot and beautiful.”
Katie laughs and kiss you softly, her arms taking you against her. She doesn’t like Maria, but she does like the way you’re not hiding your attraction for her. Maybe she’s stupid to be jealous about a woman who is just able to hug you, unlike her. You choose her, after all, right? You literally change your lifestyle for her.
“Will you wear my jersey?”
You bite your lips, looking at her. For now, you only were wearing a Wälti one, supporting your big sister. Leah already tease Katie about it in front of everyone, but deep down you know it count for her. It will probably attract people eyes though and you don’t know how people would react at a possible relationship between you and the Katie McCabe.
“Is it really a good idea?”
“Why not?” Katie frowns.
You smile slightly, using your thumb to erase the wrinkles between her eyebrows.
“Won’t people ask questions if you come hugging a girl wearing your jersey after the game?”
Katie just shrugs before tightening her hold around you.
“I don’t care”
You laugh and roll your eyes, cuddling back against her, like you were before taking your phone off of your pocket.
“I will wear it” you answer finally, after some more thinking.
“Awesome” Katie grins before losing all interest in the film and start to kiss you.
********
Like you said to Katie, you invite Maria to watch the game. Katie gave you tickets in the family and friends area and just like your promised you’re wearing her jersey. It’s the first thing she looks for when she came on the pitch. She doesn’t know why it’s suddenly so important for her to see you with her name and her number, but she’s happy for having stressed you about it when she sees you. And Maria. And how much Maria is close to you.
“Who’s with my sister?” a frowning Lia asks Katie during the drill.
“A friend from Costa Rica” Katie grumbles back, focused on her ball.
“Oh, yeah. She talked to me about it.”
That makes Katie looking up, her eyebrows frowned once again. Seeing the way she’s looking at her, Lia stops what she was doing. Kyra was next to them, but it doesn’t change the things for Katie.
“What did she say?”
“Nothing much. Just that she has a friend from Costa Rica in London.”
Lia shrugs, Katie hums and Caitlin just appeared behind her girlfriend and her friend. The Aussie seems a little concerned.
“What’s happening?”
“Katie’s girlfriend is here with another girl and Katie doesn’t seem to like competition” Kyra grins, before running away laughing when Katie glares at her.
Caitlin and Lia laugh too. Katie prefers to look for you in the stand, crossing her eyes with you. You wave at her and she smiles at you, but Maria soon takes your attention, touching your arm before talking again.
“Will you be able to focus entirely on the game?"
Katie turns herself in the direction of Caitlin, who seems genuinely worried for her friend. Katie thought it was a teasing at first, but then she saw her gaze and rolls her eyes.
“Of course I will be.”
“Plus, there isn’t any competition. My sister is crazy about her.”
Lia rolls playfully her eyes, making Katie smirks. Now that she understood and saw how much Katie cares about you and how crazy about Katie you are, Lia is nothing but supportive about your relationship. Katie as always been a friend of her after all, it’s not for nothing. She knows the Irish woman’s qualities.
The game went great. It was not always easy for Arsenal, being a gooner is sometimes hard, but the girls managed to win, and, in your opinion, Katie played very well. She got subs at the 75 minutes, and, from the bench, she kept an eye on you.
She doesn’t have anything to blame you, to be honest. But the way Maria is looking at you is going to make her crazy. The way she’s constantly touching you, the way she’s looking at your lips when you are focused on the game in front of you… She’s getting really mad.
Her knee doesn’t seem to be able to stop getting up and down and her arms are crossed on her chest. Next to her, Leah looks at her with concern, patting her knee.
“What are you up to?”
“I’m going to kill that bitch.”
Leah frowns at that, looking in the same direction as Katie. She finds you and Maria, leaning on the metal fence at the bottom of the rows of seats. You are looking at the game, Caitlin and Lia are still on the pitch. Maria, in another hand, is discreetly looking at you. From the corner of her eyes, but from Leah and Katie point of view, it’s more than obvious. You don’t have a single clue.
“Who it is?” Leah asks.
“A friend. My ass.”
“Don’t go into a fight in public please.”
Katie’s fuming and Leah doesn’t know what to say. If someone was looking at her girlfriend like this, she would lose it too.
“Do you think something happened between them?”
Katie stays silent for some times, looking at you. She hates that idea, obviously. She knows you had your life before her, of course. But if she can stay away from your exes, she won’t say no.
“No. I hope she would have told me."
“I think she would have.”
Katie grumble, letting herself go against the back of her seat. She can’t wait for the end of the game. She just wants to run to you, takes you away from Maria and returns her to her homeland.
When the game is finished and the players can start their lap, Katie makes a beeline to you. You smile at her when she came to you, not expecting her to hug you as hard. But you hug her back anyway, enjoying her proximity like always.
“You’re all sticky.” you tease her when she lets you go.
She smirks at you and get closer for being able to whisper in your ears.
“I never heard you complain about that when it’s in the bedroom though.”
You became bright red and with a wink Katie left to go with the team to hear Jonas’ speech. You just have to look at Maria to know that she heard what Katie said, your girlfriend’s boldness seeming to surprise your friend. You choose to not add anything, waving back at your sister.
Some hours later, you are with some of the Arsenal players, celebrating the important victory. Most of them are scattered all over the establishment, the same one where you first met Katie. Katie who is currently with her arms possessively passed around your shoulders to keep you against her. Maria came with you, the Irish woman couldn’t say no when you ask her if your friend can come too.
She can stop flirting with you, whispering sweet nothing in your ear, stilling you kisses when you expect it the least and covering you with attention. Between that and the alcohol you drank, you’re having a hard time not to forget where you are. Especially right now, when Katie is biting your earlobe.
Over your shoulder, Katie intercedes Maria’s furious gaze in your direction and she can’t help but smirk.
“Let’s go home?” Katie whispers in your ear and you bite your lip.
You’re dying to accept, but it’s still early and no one left for now, you don’t want to be the first to leave.
“No one left now. And I feel bad leaving Maria all alone.”
“She’s not alone, she have more than ten people to pass time with.”
You hesitate a little more and Katie sighs, taking off from you suddenly. Her reaction loses you a little and you search in your memory what did to makes her react in this way. You gently take her hand in yours and you’ve relieved when she lets you. But, just after, Maria managed to get your attention again.
Katie doesn’t say anything for longs minutes, trying to ignore the laughs that Maria is drawing from you. It lasts some minutes, before Katie snapped, suddenly getting up from the bench and training you with her, taking you by the hand that was still in yours.
“What are you doing?” you ask.
But Katie doesn’t answer, dragging you outside, where you looked at the stars with her for the first time. The memory came once again in your brain, but the upset face of Katie makes you forget it for now.
“Do I have something to worry about?"
“What?”
You frown and Katie sighs. You understood what she said, you are just too surprised to react correctly right now. Katie repeats herself, making you feel like she’s going to explode soon.
“Maria. Do I have something to worry about?”
“No, why are you asking that?”
“Because she never stops looking at you like she’s going to push you against the next wall to ravish you!”
Your face becomes perfectly smooth under the surprise, only your slightly raised eyebrows cause very slight wrinkles on your forehead. Katie never raised her voice with you, but you never had any real fights either. Although we can’t talk about screaming right now, she’s rather carried away by her emotions, which you can’t blame her.
But Katie thinks the opposite and you see her face tinged with panic.
"I’m sorry, I just..."
Katie sighs again and passes both hands on the face taking a big suction before looking at you again.
"She’s clearly fancy you, and I can’t stand it. If at least she did it respectfully, but she didn’t. You told her you have a girlfriend, and she passes her time eyefucking you. I don’t like her.”
It’s your turn to sight, taking cupping one of Katie’s cheekbones with one of your hands. You are smiling slightly though, and you can feel Katie’s tension under your fingers.
“Of course not, you don’t have anything to worry about, Kate. I’m not in the slightest interested by her. I’m only looking at you, no one else.”
Katie bites her lip and come closer to you, looking deep in your eyes. Right into your soul.
“And you and her have never been a thing?”
“Never” you smile, your hand now cupping her jaw.
Your thumb is stroking the corner of her jaw when she leans in the obvious desire to kiss you. You let her, of course, passing your hands around her waist.
“Can we go home now please?” Katie asks softly.
“Of course we can.”
You’re completely surprised at how much jealousy has taken hold of Katie. The proud and strong Katie McCabe, turned into a fearful little kitten. You could tease her about that, but you decide not to do it now.
The little kitten quickly turns into the tigress that is Katie when you arrive home, anxious to remind you who you belong to.
On the other hand, the next day and the days after, you will not hesitate to tease her.

the ninety-second minute.
two minutes into the four of added time. by this point, your legs are burning. the sound of the crowd ringing through your ears and rattling around your brain. you tried to stay focused, overly aware of the time ticking away. your season debut, a sold out emirates and you were finally off the bench and on the grass at the start of the second half. the first half was a mess, truth be told. the team had conceded a goal twelve minutes in and didn't score the equaliser until minute thirty-seven. it felt anticlimactic, the players and fans reeking of disappointment at the display in front of them. how the team had been playing and how they were playing seemed like a humorous juxtaposition.
the blur of red and white fell into the background as you felt the ball at your feet, walti hitting the ball perfectly through a gap in the opposition and picking you out. this startled you out of your train of thought and your feet moved faster than your brain could compute as you started running.
you breezed up the field, weaving through the opposing players with the ball still on your feet. beth was ahead of you to the right of the box, screaming your name above the noise. you could hear a few others behind you too, leah calling out behind you to pass it across the box to beth. you looked up, eyes flicking from the ball to the scenes around you in second intervals. you were covered, their defence closing in on you as you crept closer and closer to the goal. your eyes found the keeper ahead of you, arms open and bouncing on her feet. you could feel the bodies around you closing in, you couldn't turn and now you couldn't place beth as she disappeared behind them.
ninety-three.
you tried to stall for just a second, still fighting through the wall with the ball below you. you looked around, eyes searching for a red. you had no choice, you took a deep breath. a gap, just look for a gap you thought, scanning between the bodies. then you spotted it, a crack in their defence. there it is the voice in your head egged you on, then you ran again. arms raising to your side to give you the last kick of power you needed, body twisting as your foot retracted.
the stadium and people around you seemed to slow as soon as the inside of your foot made contact with the ball, eyes locked on it as it picked off the ground and began soaring towards the goal in front of you. it was up and over the keeper even as she jumped, launching herself up in an attempt to avert the ball outside of the posts. instead, it trickled above and over her fingertips, top right corner. back of the net.
you watched as it made contact with the net, rippling out as the crowd jumped to their feet. screaming and hollering a mix of your name and cheers, at the sight and sound your knees buckled. hand's breaking your fall as your head tilted back, eyes squeezed shut as you cried out a sound of relief and elation. the screams around you grew as your teammates flew towards you, arms wrapped around you tightly as they screamed and congratulated you. lifting you off the ground and into the middle of the group, patting your head and singing along with the crowd as they chanted for you. katie was the first to speak directly to you, hands on either side of your head as she raised her voice above the racket from the crowd. “there’s my star girl!” she screamed, smiling from ear to ear.
the whistle blows. the game ends.
you, along with the other girls take your victory lap. soaking in the love from the fans and taking a few minutes to enjoy the moment alongside each other. when the celebrations had ceased, pictures had been taken and the fans had slowly began to make their way out of their seats and towards the exits - you and the girls retreated back through the tunnel and towards the changing room.
once inside, the celebrations continue in the form of dancing and singing. the group all swaying and holding one another whilst ‘the angel’ blares through a speaker in the corner of the room. voices echo of the walls as you butcher it, laughing at the sight surrounding you. beside you stood beth, arm slung across your shoulder and hips knocking yours as she swayed to the beat of the song. she leant towards you, her mouth not too far from your ear as she whispered a small and teasing.
“well done, star girl..”
—————————
three hours later you stood outside of a local bar, a team favourite. a small, proper british, weather-spoons styled bar tucked away in a corner of north-london. there was a shelter above you, shielding you from peering eyes and people wandering by. you were standing with your head down, eyes glued to your phone and back pressed against the brick wall.
you typed vigorously, cracking a smile every few seconds as a new message popped up at the bottom of the screen.
y/n : i am NOT walking in alone
meado : just go in! we will be there in 2 minutes!
y/n : beth. i am not being the first one here!!
le : stop being a baby
km : can score in front of 50k but can’t be first in??
y/n : i actually beg you shut up
lia : we are around the corner!! are you out front?
y/n : yes, save me
before you could continue on your rampage, your attention was directed to the sound of an irish accent bellowing towards you. lifting your eyes off the screen in front of you, you were met with the source of the sound.
“are you ever quiet? or do you not possess the ability?” you teased, smiling as she engulfed you in her arms and pulled you towards her chest.
“nah, but ye’ know ye’ don’t mind,” she replied “do you not possess the ability to walk into a bar alone?” she added, emphasising her point with the tap of her finger against your shoulder, smirking when you rolled your eyes.
“shut up, mccabe.”
you and katie have been friends for years, and teammates for even longer. people often liked to comment on the pair of you, fans would speculate and ‘ship’ you together. sure, there was the odd flirty comment passed between you, or a single instagram post that painted you as a little closer than friends. but nothing ever came from it, and nothing was said. you got on like a house on fire, even though people were continuously confused about how you actually got on, considering how different your personalities are. katie was a loud and outgoing character, a joker. you, on the other hand preferred to slip into the background most times. but somehow, it worked. on the pitch, and away from the pitch.
katie ushered you inside, making small talk as the pair of you walked towards the back - sitting down into a booth beside each other and thanking the server as he scattered a number of drinks menus around the circular table.
over the next few minutes the rest of the girls started to filter in, saying hello’s and getting comfy around the table as conversations kicked up. as the seats started filling you felt katie shimmy off the seat and move somewhere away from the group. you sat beside leah, discussing a mutual and old friend you had recently bumped into. sharing a bout of laughter at resurfacing memories.
the drinks began to circulate and music started to flow through the room, everyone relaxing into the occasion when katie slipped back into the seat beside you. she placed two drinks down on the table, and then slid one in front of you - her hand tapping your thigh twice under the table as she did so. you smiled to yourself with a hand clasping around the glass and tapping twice with your finger nail, thanking her silently.
the other girls were used to this by now, beth and viv would call it a ‘secret language’. joking about how you spent so much time together you could communicate telepathically. the two taps could mean anything, a thank you, an okay, an ‘oh my god did you hear that?’. it was completely subjective to the situation, but either way you always understood each other.
another half hour ticked by, and the team still remained around the table. drinks in hand, all engaged in the same conversation but still managing to speak over one another. the room was stuffy, and your skin was crawling for a bit of fresh air.
you made it outside, the door closing behind you and blocking out the music. you took a deep breath, allowing the chill in the air to fill your lungs as you took a seat at one of the rickety tables. you placed your bag to rest on your legs, fingers sifting through your bag, then lifting to your lips followed by the click of a lighter.
you inhaled, eyes closing for a second then looking down at your phone - flicking through your social media. you stayed like this for a few moments, eyes locked on the screen until a voice made you jump. moving swiftly to tug your arm under the table, shielding the sight of your cigarette from view.
“that’ll kill ye’ you know..”
“jesus christ, katie you scared me!” you complained, moving your hand to rest on the table-top once more, unbothered by her presence or possible acknowledgment to your bad habit.
“don’t understand why ye’ do it, it ain’t even nice.” her accent seemed to get thicker once paired with the alcohol she had consumed, “don’t like watchin’ you do it..”
“don’t watch me then,” you quipped, smiling sarcastically as you raised it to your lips again.
“put it out, let’s go inside.”
“i’ll be in in a minute-”
“put it out.”
that’s new. you thought in regards to the way her words caused your stomach to churn, unable to fight your hand as you flicked the cigarette to the ground and stubbed it out with the sole of your shoe.
“happy now?”
“very.”
her eyes were trained on you, watching as you stood from your seat and made your way over to her. slipping a piece of gum between your lips.
“gonna stand there a check me out all night mccabe? or you gonna come inside..?”
—————————
you weren’t entirely sure how it had gotten to this point, but you were sat on the edge of your seat absolutely seething. eyebrows furrowed and teeth clenched beneath your pursed lips. eyes fixated on the scene unfolding in front of you.
beth could feel the tension in your body from beside you, placing a hand on your back and asking if you’re okay not entirely convinced when she received your answer through gritted teeth.
katie stood at the bar, leaning against a stool as she spoke to a woman. not just any woman, a beautiful blonde woman. who was laughing obnoxiously loud and dramatically at something katie had said, leant right in towards her ear with a hand on her shoulder.
you had watched this for long enough, the sight alone enough to cause a strike of anger and jealousy in the depths of your stomach. you rose to your feet, ignoring the way beth called your name lowly and under her breath but failed to restrain you. you walked towards the pair now stood far, far too close to each other. timing it perfectly as katie created space for you to slip into her side, tucking your arm around her waist.
pretending to be interested in something happening in the room you spoke sweetly “shall we get going babe? you’ve got to be up early.” before turning to finally meet katie’s eyes, she was shocked - gobsmacked even as you stood next to her putting on a performance. you flashed her a smile before you turned towards her company, “oh my! sorry i didn’t see you there, am i interrupting?”
she was up and gone before giving you a reply, scoffing and grunting towards katie as she left. you laughed to yourself, removing your hand and filling the now empty seat. katie, however, was less amused. muttering a “what the fuck was that?” with a scrunched up face.
“what was what?”
“thanks.” she spat, marching away from you. she crossed the room and you watched her walk into the bathroom - trailing shortly behind her, calling her name. when you made it into the bathroom it was quiet, as if it was empty. you advanced towards one of the stalls, pressing your fingertips to the door and pushing gently.
“katie?” no reply and the door opened to reveal an empty cubicle. “katie?” you said again, huffing slightly as you pushed the second one open.
this time, the door flew open and a hand grabbed your wrist - pulling you inside. before you had the chance to register what was happening your back was pressed up against the now closed door, with a body laid against your front.
you gasped at the contact, a familiar perfume flooding your senses before you eventually opened your eyes just to be met with a pair of blue ones you had seen so many times.
“i used to enjoy this silly little game of yours, you know. but now, i’m getting a little tired, love.” she whispered, still keeping you pinned with your arms by your side and legs shoulder width apart.
“i don’t know what you-”
“what i’m trying to say is, if you really wanted me that bad, you should’ve just said so.” she added, lifting her hand to tilt your head. her lips on the skin of your neck instantly, peppering kisses below your ear and down to where your collarbone sits. raising and falling cautiously with every deep breath you took.
you didn’t fight it, instead you sighed into her touch, body relaxing against hers. you could feel her smirk against your skin, teeth grazing the skin of your jaw. you wriggled one of your hands out of her grip, laying it across the back of her neck. palming it gently as you pulled her back, looking at her properly.
she scanned your face, watching as your head twitched in a tiny nod - never breaking eye contact with her once. her features softened, but her lips twisted into a cocky smirk. moving towards you and attaching your lips together.
you had kissed once before, in a stupid game of truth or dare about five years ago. it was small, a peck and lasted maybe three seconds.
this kiss, right now, was the polar opposite. lips moving against each other roughly, hands tugging at each other clothes and skin. the kiss was fast paced, and twisted with lust and want. it was erotic and urgent, as if you might disappear and the moment will be gone if you even dared to come up for air. your lips pressed together so hard you thought they might bruise.
your lips were on fire when she pulled away, trailing a path of hot kisses down the same path she took earlier. nipping and licking along your jaw and neck as you whimpered from above her, shifting your weight from your right to left foot and back again. unable to contain the heat spreading through you. it started in the pit of your stomach, angry and fierce at the hands of katie’s actions.
“katie..” you whispered, clawing at the clothes on her back. she didn’t reply, to focused on the task at hand. “katie.” you said again, this time it came out like a hiccup, breath hitching when she nipped at a particularly sensitive patch beneath your ear. “katie, please!”
“what, love?” she pulled away with a smirk. eyes deep and lips parted as she gasped for air.
“i need you,”
“i’m right here.”
her answer didn’t satisfy, laced with cockiness as she licked her lips. your leg lifted to bend hers and press between your legs, inhaling sharply when you felt the contact on your heat - tugging your lip between your teeth as the irish woman groaned and lifted a hand to sit at the side of your face, stroking her thumb along the skin as you grabbing and palmed at her leg to bring it closer.
“is that what you want, love?” you knew it was rhetorical, a question that didn’t need an answer. but still you nodded vigorously, rolling your hips against her thigh which now sat in the perfect position for relief. “you wanna got off on my thigh now hm?” she added, the words alone enough to send another rush of heat through your abdomen.
you couldn’t form words, already starting to rut against her thigh when her hands began to creep up your top, teasing over the fabric of your bra at the feeling of your fully hard nipples.
“go on, baby, get off on my thigh..” she encouraged, one hand sitting firmly on your hip to guide you and the other being used to lift your top further. taking one of your nipples between her fingers, watching as your teeth laid harshly into your bottom lip - eyes rolling into the back of your head.
“you like this, huh? getting yourself off, right here? being a good girl for me, aren’t ye’?” she whispered into your ear, teeth softly grazing against the skin of your ear lobe.
“want your fingers, katie,” you whimpered, the pressure through the layers of clothing not providing you with enough.
“hm, that’s not how we ask now is it?” she questioned, eyebrow cocked and hands stilling you on her thigh. “why don’t you ask properly n’ i’ll see what i can do..”
“please katie, i want your fingers..” you whined, body distraught at the loss of contact. katie let out a satisfied ‘hm’ at your words, pressing a quick kiss to your lips when her hands dropped to unbutton your jeans. she shoved them down till they sat around your mid-thigh, fingers ghosting over your clothed slit as she sighed.
“look at you, made such a mess. proper ruined these are..” she teased, adding pressure through the fabric before skilfully moving them to the side. allowing her fingers to slip through your folds, smirking against you when she felt how wet you were. “jesus, love. absolutely soaked.” you felt a blush creep onto your cheeks as she teased you, not fully committing to where you needed her most.
you groaned in frustration, head laying back against the cubicle door when she finally pressed the pads of her fingers onto the bundle of nerves, chuckling when she felt your body jolt forward and thighs tense at the feeling. “right there, baby?” she whispered, burying her head into your neck once more. you nodded, hips moving to grind against her fingers - swivelling in small circles and moaning out into the room.
through the laboured breaths you managed to croak out a meek and stuttered “please fuck me, need your fingers,” mouth agape and limbs on fire when you felt her move her fingers down to the source of your arousal. allowing one of her fingers to slip inside you, enough to feel you clench around her and whisper out a beg for more.
when she added a second, your head fell forward. attaching your lips together again, your moans slipping beyond her lips. your teeth grazed against the skin of her bottom lip now, in exchange to yours and she grunted out a low “behave.” when you pushed your luck.
you could feel the coil in the pit of your stomach bouncing around your organs and numbing your lower body when her fingertips pressed against your g-spot. knees buckling and eyes screwing shut, fingers gripping her bicep - leaving crescent shaped marks in the exposed skin beneath her sleeve.
“fuck, right there- oh my god.” you moaned, unable to hold them in any longer, your mind clouded by pleasure and entirely focused on chasing the high that was rapidly approaching.
“right there?” she punctuated her point by curling her fingers deeper, “ye’ gonna cum for me? show me how pretty ye’ look makin’ a mess of my fingers?” she knew just what to say to have you squirming and send your mind racing.
you felt you tighten around her fingers, grunting a “cum for me.” into the crook of your neck, not slowing or stilling her fingers until she heard you cry out. using her lips to muffle your cries as she rode it out, letting you catch your breath for a few seconds before removing them all together. bringing them up to your lips, which you accepted gracefully. hollowing out your cheeks, tongue flattening against them before finishing with a pop.
katie held you up the same way she had been until you were confident on your feet again, helping you to straighten your clothes and push your hair out of your face. you felt an awkward silence rush over you both, inhaling deeply. you were sure she could hear your inner monologue when she jokingly let a “well then, thats never happened before..” break through the silence, causing you both to laugh.
you pushed her hair away from her eyes, slipping your hands onto her cheeks and bringing her forward to connect your lips again. this time softly, more careful and loving. you both relaxed instantly, smiling as you pulled away.
it hadn’t happened before, no.
but would it be the last time, no.

R.L: Karma is a bitch
Tw: Cheating, nothing else.
A/N: Just wanted to pop out something little tonight. Enjoy <3
I was cursing myself for forgetting my tape. I was also cursing myself for allowing my former teammate, Leah, borrow it. We were mid tournament in the champion league and my team had made the cut. It wasn’t like we were bad, but we were not playing our best as so many of our key players was out due to injury.
I had told Ruesha to hold my seat in the bus, as I sprinted towards the hotel lobby. The tape was with Leah, and I saw her earlier going to her room so I was convinced that she was there. “fuck” I mumbled after waiting for the elevator for 15 seconds. I decided on sprinting the stairs for the full 4 floors, not giving a dam about my previously teared acl. I got up looking red as ever, and started desperately banging on Leah’s door. “LEAH!! I NEED MY TAPE!!” I could hear someone inside, but she didn’t open. “Jesus Christ” I mumbled as I kicked the door. “LEAH, I SWEAR! OPEN UP, I NEED MY TAPE!!” I yelled as the door swung open. My eyes widened and my jaw dropped. I was out of air and of words. My brain was imprinting this image that I didn’t need to see at all. I saw Leah standing there butt naked behind a tiny towel with her hair going in all directions and when i looked into the room, I saw Caitlin Foord also naked.
She handed me my tape. “Here..” she said as she shut the door in my face. The wind of the door hitting my face. I shook myself back to reality. “Oh my god” I said as I backed away and ran back down. “RUESH!!” I screamed as I ran into the bus. “You will NEVER believe what I just encountered.” She looked scared out of her mind. “Do I wanna know?” She asked carefully. “YES!!” I said as she was still not convinced.
“Okay, so I ran into the lobby and the elevator wasn’t quick enough, so I had to run up all the stai-“
“You, what now?
“That’s besides the point!! Ruesh, I saw Leah naked with Caitlin” I said as I shook her by her shoulders. Her jaw dropped, her eyes dropped and everyone around us was equally as shocked.
“Are you sure? Like 100% sure?”
“Ruesha YES! I could’ve spotted Caitlin in a crowd of thousands!”
Everyone was still staring at me and everyone had huge eyes. Ruesha started giggling which turned into laughter which turned into hysterically laughing. The rest of the bus laughing with her. “What can I say Ruesh, Karma is a bitch.”

jeez imagine Leah always catching you staring at her abs and then one day she’s teases you and lets you actually touch them
Abs
Leah Williamson x fem!reader
SMUT 18+
Tumblr media
Saying you have a staring problem would be far from the truth.
Unless you are talking about admiring a certain someone, that someone being your very own teammate, Leah Williamson. It’s not like you purposefully stare at her, but what are you supposed to do when she is working out in a sports bra and glistening in sweat? Her abs are on full display, and who are you not to look? You’re only human.
Right now, you’re on the pitch practicing for the season coming up. You and your good friend, Katie McCabe, are doing simple passing and dribbling up and down the turf. A football goes flying past your feet from you being too distracted.
“Oi! What are you doing? We are doing the easy drills here, Y/l/n!” You blink to yourself and let out a big sigh, turning your attention back to the brunette. Subconsciously, you look back at the very thing that had you distracted in the first place. Katie follows your line of sight and sees Leah with her jersey lifted and wiping the sweat off her face. She looks back at you with an unimpressed look and smacks you on the head.
“Ow!’
“Get your head out of the gutter. You can thirst over your friend after practice.” She scolds while your cheeks begin to turn red from embarrassment.
“Okay, you’re right. I’ll race ya to the cooler!” Your feet get a head start, and you start running toward the chest that holds all the refreshing drinks, pushing Katie back to delay her speed.
“Oh no you don’t!”
Sadly, that isn’t the only time the Irish woman catches you gazing at the blonde. Arsenal just won the match against Liverpool. The team is all relieved but exhausted and just wants to head back to the hotel. All of you are getting changed in the locker room; some small conversations happening on the sides, but your eyes drift over to Leah. Fresh out of the shower, her wet hair lays over her shoulders and back, and most importantly, she’s shirtless.
Your head stays down, but your eyes still stay on her stomach. Her muscles flex with every little move she makes, making you clench your thighs. “Seriously? Again?” A voice startles you, causing you to let out an unintentional squeak. Leah looks over at the two of you and quirks an eyebrow. You smile at her and wave your hand, telling her it’s nothing.
Looking around, you make sure no one has their eyes on you before smacking Katie’s shoulder. She lets out a little ow and rubs the sore spot. “You can’t just scare me like that!”
“Well, I wouldn’t scare you if you were paying attention to your surroundings instead of looking at—” Her voice begins to rise, so you slap your hand over her mouth, glaring at her. She removes your hand from her mouth and puts her arms up in fake surrender.
The bus brings you back to the hotel room to stay the night, and everybody is assigned a roommate. You get roomed with Katie, Leah with Caitlin, Beth with Viv, and so on. Everyone heads to their designated rooms, but not you. Katie turns to you with her lip jutting out in a pout and pleading eyes.
“What do you want, Katie?”
She blinks her eyelashes consistently and finally asks, “Can you and Caitlin trade? Please?”
You look over to the Australian who is right next to her, also giving you a bit of a pout. Huffing, you offer your key card to the green-eyed girl, “Here.” Both of the girls smile and smush you in a hug. Caitlin hands you the opposite card, so you start to head to the room with your briefcase rolling beside you.
When you enter the room, the bathroom light is on with the door closed. Placing your briefcase by the front door, you make your way to one of the mattresses and flop down on your back.
“Oh, didn’t know you’d be in here.”
Surprised you didn’t hear the bathroom door squeak, you immediately sit up. “Katie and Caitlin wanted to room together, so we switched.”
“Are you saying you don’t want to room with me?” Your eyes widen, and your head shoots up. As you are about to defend yourself, you see a teasing smirk etch over Leah’s face, making the tension in your shoulders go away. She chuckles at your reaction while she turns her attention back to putting her clothes back in her bag. In all her glory, she stands with a Nike sports bra and a pair of basketball shorts on her body. “You do need to stop doing that.”
Your eyebrows furrow in confusion. “Huh?”
Her body turns towards you, and she crosses her arms over her chest. “You’re staring problem,” she continues to look over at you as your mouth opens a little. “If you think I haven’t noticed you on the pitch or in the locker room, you’re wrong.”
While you try and stutter a response, the smug look never leaves her face, and she slowly starts approaching you at the end of the mattress. Your eyes are looking everywhere but at her, and you blurt out, “I’m sorry!”
“Can you at least look at me?” Her tone is gentle, along with the soft smile on her face. In response to her question, you shake your head no. “Why not?”
“Because I’ll be distracted.” You mumble in embarrassment.
“Distracted by what exactly?”
“Don’t make me say it.”
Her pointer finger curls under your chin to lift your gaze at her. She bends down to your height and moves her face right in front of yours, both your noses almost touching. Her hands reach out and grab both of yours, placing them on her abs, making your face turn redder than a tomato. You retract your hands and move further up the bed. “No need to be shy, baby.” Leah crawls up towards you, making sure to leave a little space in case you get uncomfortable.
Your legs are stretched out in front of you, and your hands are placed on your lap. Leah places both her arms on each side of your feet and her knees sit on the end of the bed. You look down at her, her hair in a ponytail, biceps flexing, and abs still on display. “Leah, what are we doing?”
“Well, from the looks of it, we're sitting here staring at each other.” She jokes, which only gets her a look in return. “Okay… okay, you really want to know?” You nod at her, and she makes her way up and hovers over you. Your breath hitches when her nose brushes against yours and her breath fans against your face. She starts to lean in, looking at your lips, before pausing and directing her eyes back to your eyes. “Can I–”
One second she’s hovering over you, the next her lips are smashing into yours. Your hands are wrapped behind her neck, fingers threading through her hair, while her hands ground themselves at both sides of your head, holding her up. Your lips fit together like two puzzle pieces, and you never want to part, but unfortunately; both of you need to catch your breath. Leah is the first to separate the two of you, but not without leaving a nibble at your bottom lip.
Your hands trail down from her shoulder, to her chest, then finally down to her stomach. Her cocky attitude starts to make its way back over her body. Smirking down at you, she leans in to kiss your lips again. One of her arms replaces itself, so her forearm is now resting on the bed as her other glides down to the hem of your shirt. The cold feeling of her fingertips on your skin makes you gasp, allowing her tongue to snake its way into your mouth. Your tongues roll against each other, and you let out a small moan at the sensation.
Her lips make their way to your jaw and pepper down to your pulse point. She alternates between biting and licking over your sweet spot, leaving a red mark, and moving down just a little to repeat the process. “Leah,” she continues to suck on your skin, “Leah, the team will see.”
“So let them.”
You couldn’t even protest. The feeling of her skin on yours, her lips continuing to brush in the best places on your neck. It was surreal. You never thought this would happen; you thought you’d only be gazing at her from afar and that’s it.
The thoughts running through your head are soon interrupted by a particular rough bite. You hiss and dig your fingernails into her abs, causing Leah to let out a similar noise. She pulls away and tugs on your jumper, asking permission to take it off. You nod and sit up to help make it easier to slide off your torso. Without wasting any time, you grab her hand and place it on the strings of your pants.
“Please take them off.”
“Patience, darling.” She tuts, almost like she’s trying to make you explode.
Slowly, she pulls the strings of your sweatpants, untying them to get them looser. Her fingers grip the sides of your pants and pull them up to her, so your hips joist up, yours touching hers. While she begins to pull down your pants, she arches her neck down to kiss your lips again, diving her tongue into your mouth hungrily with no hesitation. Once your pants are off, she tosses them across the room and grabs your hips to flip positions.
Her hands slide from your hips down to your ass as she creates a slow, steady rock of your hips. Every so often, one of you pulls away to get a gasp of breath, and then you dive right back into each other.
Leah pulls back, her lips red and swollen. “Move up more, baby.”
Your eyes meet hers; her pupils are blown with lust. The movement of your hips stops for a moment. “What do you mean?” You gasp, still a little out of breath. Instead of telling you what she had in mind, her hands that remain on your ass pull you up, making you sit on her stomach. Before you have the chance to ask her why she moved you, her hand grips your neck and pulls you back down to attach your lips to hers. The other hand that remains on your behind encourages you to go back to rocking your hips back and forth.
The blonde flexes her abs, and right when you rock, it hits a pleasurable spot for you. She smiles into the kiss when you moan in her mouth. “You’re soaked, Y/n/n. I can feel how wet you are through your panties, baby.” Heat starts to rush up your neck, but not enough to stop the rhythm of your hips. Leah’s thumbs move to pull the elastic of the fabric that’s stopping her from fulfilling your needs. You lift your body, allowing her to pull them down to your ankles, so you can take them off yourself. “Come on, doll. Keep grinding, and maybe I’ll let you get off.”
You reach behind your back and unclip your bra, sliding it off your arms. She hugs your waist, pulling you in while you continue to slide your body up and down her stomach. The defender leans in, wrapping her lips around your nipple, and swirls her tongue around it. Between that and the continuous rub of your clit, you turn into a moaning mess.
“You’re doing so good for me, do you think I should reward you?” You nod your head, “I think I need more convincing than that, doll. I want you to beg.”
You’re quick to give her what she wants, desperate for a release. “Please, baby. I’ll do anything you want, just please give me your fingers.”
“That’s what you want? You want my fingers?”
“Mhm.”
Without warning, she grabs your waist and, once again, flips your position. She stands up and walks toward the end of the bed, leaving you with no time to react when she grips your ankles and yanks you down. Her hands massage up and down your thighs before she moves to place a kiss on your belly button. Your breath continues to race as you wait with anticipation for Leah to connect her lips where you need her the most.
She’s now down to your inner thigh, so she moves one of your legs onto her shoulder. With every other kiss, she leaves a hickey along with a praise. “You’re so gorgeous,” a kiss. “My good girl,” a bite. “Dripping for me,” a lick. You whine out of impatience, making her chuckle. “Impatient girl.”
Her tongue finally makes contact with your pussy, licking a long strip up to your clit. Your back arches, and you let out a booming moan, definitely bothering whoever is in the room next to yours. While her lips wrap around your bud, her right-hand makes its way to your core. She pushes her middle finger inside you while her tongue continues to lap around clit. It’s not long before she adds her ring finger, too.
The noises that escape your mouth make Leah feel like she’s on top of the damn world. Being able to please you so well, and also getting to do it with you. You, you feel like you’re on cloud 9. The dragging of her digits in and out of you while her mouth works magic on your clit made your head spin. She maneuvers her fingers around until she hits a specific spongey spot, which makes you let out a gasp mixed with a moan.
Leah lifts her head and continues to drag her digits in and out of you at a rapid pace. Removing your leg from on top of her, she moves up so she’s face to face with you. She gives you a mind-blowing kiss and moves over to your ear to whisper, “I know you’re close; I can feel you tighten around my fingers, baby. I want you to cum when I tell you to, okay?”
You manage to slip out an okay between ragged breaths. Her pace picks up, and her thumbs put pressure on your clit, making you feel like you’re body is going to implode if you don’t cum soon.
“Please, Leah. Please, I need to cum, baby. So, so badly!”
“Just a little longer.”
Your head snaps back on the bed as you moan and whine at the same time, “I don’t think I can wait any longer.”
“Go ahead, cum for me.”
The tightening in your stomach soon snaps, making your back arch and your eyes squeeze shut. The screams you let out are almost loud enough to worry the rooms next to you. Once your high begins to settle, your body shudders as your back returns to the bed. You move your hand to stop Leah’s strokes, overstimulated from the long wait.
She crawls her way up on top of your body and places kisses on the bruises forming on your neck. You pull her into your body, wrapping your hands around the back of her neck, guiding her lips to yours.
After a few more minutes of making out, you pull away, “You are really good in bed.”
“Really?” Her tone wasn’t insecure; it was the opposite. This was another trophy to add to her collection of reasons to be cocky. You roll your eyes and pull her back into a smiley kiss.
“Now, I think it’s only fair I repay the favor.”
“I won’t stop you, doll.”
“Aye, Leah. Seems like you had a good time last night,” Lotte wiggles her eyebrows and smirks towards the defender, “might need to request a room that’s soundproof next time.” Leah rolls her eyes and walks towards the buffet. Everyone starts asking questions about what the brunette is talking about, trying to nag more information out of her. “Well, our beautiful blonde friend here had someone over for some private exercises.” The smug look never leaves her face.
You bite your lip and pull your jumper further up your neck, so no one sees the colored marks on your skin. Katie sits right across from you, and you see her eyes go wide. She then darts her eyes towards Leah and then you. She opens her mouth and points toward you, confusing your teammates, who are startled by her. You abruptly stand up, heading towards her and grabbing her arm. “Katie forgot something in my room; we’ll be right back.” A fake smile plastered on your face as you drag her down the hall. You scan your key card and then push the Irish woman as quickly as you can before shutting the door and standing in front of it.
Meanwhile, the team sits in the lounge, confused as to what they just witnessed. No one even thought of you as an option since they assumed you were still rooming with Katie. “Okay, now what the hell was that about?” Beth asks out in the open for anyone to answer. Her girlfriend, Viv, just shrugs right next to her and continues biting into her breakfast. The rest of the girls reply with I don’t know, and head back to their conversations. “Leah, maybe you should go check on them.”
In response, Leah nods and heads towards your room. She felt relieved when Beth asked her to go check on you because she wanted to do it anyway but couldn’t without raising any suspicions. When she knocks on the door, it swiftly opens, and she gets yanked in by her arm. Before complaining, she looks and sees Katie at the end of one of the beds with an unreadable look on her face, while you stand right next to the taller blonde.
There’s a long silence in the room before it’s interrupted by Katie, “So, you two... are together?” She quirks an eyebrow, looking at the both of you.
You look at Leah for some help, but she’s just as baffled as you. “Well, we never really put a label on it.” Biting your lip, you look at the girl right next to you, making sure it is the right thing to say. She gives you a soft smile and a nod, before wrapping her arm around you and rubbing her hand up and down your arm. Katie silently nods before mumbling something incoherently.
“What was that?”
“I said about fucking time.” Katie cheers, lifting her arms in the air and letting them drop, which shocks both you and Leah. “I could not stand dealing with watching you drool over her,” she points at you, causing a smirk to form on the blonde's face right next to you, “and having to hear you talk about how breathtaking she looks all the time.” Your friend fake gags as you blush at the thought of your longtime crush gushing over you.
Leah clears her throat, “I’m glad we finally put you out of your misery, but you can not tell anyone yet. Please.” It was very rare if you ever heard Leah beg. The defender always had a reputation for getting what she wanted without having to look small, as she likes to call it.
Katie gasps and places her hand over her heart, “Did the Leah Williamson just say please?” You let out a quiet giggle, earning yourself a soft smack on the arm.
“Okay, you two, let’s not wind each other up. We just don’t want the rest of the team to make such a big deal out of anything right away; we’re just having our first date tonight. Unlike Miss Ego over here, I will beg you, so please, please, don’t tell anyone yet.” You put your hands together and place them in front of your face as a sign of mercy.
“Yeah, yeah, I won’t say anything.” You squeal and go to hug your friend. Leah comes over and pats her shoulder as a way of saying thank you.
“Okay, we better head back to the lobby before someone thinks one of us killed a person.”
After a few dates and making you guys official, you finally decided to tell the team. They were all stunned but so happy that there was another power couple in the group. If you thought the teasing from Katie alone was annoying, you were in for a big surprise.
It was team bonding night at Beth and Viv’s place, and you all decided to have a movie night together. Everyone picked little white strips out of a hat that had movie titles on them, so no one had to argue about what movies to watch. Both you and Leah are sitting on the floor with her back leaning against the couch, while you sit between her legs and your back against her chest. Her arms are wrapped tight around you, and a blanket covers the two of you.
“Aww, look at the love birds!” Lotte teases while Jen stands up and hugs herself, making kissing noises, causing the team all to laugh. Leah grabs the pillow closest to her and chucks it at Jen.
“Ouch!”
You smile and turn your head awkwardly to look at your girlfriend. Her facial features soften, and then she returns your loving gaze. She leans down, placing a soft kiss on your lips. Your right hand comes up and grabs her cheeks to lean her further towards you. You set multiple pecks on her lips, causing both of you to smile in the midst of them. Without your knowledge, Steph catches the sweet interaction between you two on camera and saves it.
That same video was used both when you guys told the fans and also on the day of your wedding.

late night visits II k.mccabe x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i think this is the longest fic i've written so far but as she deserves, katie is so lover girl coded and no one can convince me otherwise
late night visits II k.mccabe x reader 7.3K words
"katie!" the irishwoman glanced up with a squint, standing taller to try and see over the crowd of drunken bodies packing the bar. finally she spotted her friends jammed into a booth toward the back and pushed her way through toward them.
"jesus is there like a two for one special on drinks tonight or what?" katie huffed as she took the vacant seat beside leah, looking around at the hordes of patrons around them. the little restaurant and bar was hardly unknown, however it rarely got this busy.
"guess our little secret isn't so secret anymore." jen chuckled, sliding katie a rum and coke she'd ordered her earlier as the irishwoman sent her a grateful smile before necking it. "slow down katie! it's not a race." beth laughed with a shake of her head as the irishwoman grinned.
"almost every bar in manchester was like this it took like a half an hour to even be served!" alessia piped up, seated beside leah and across from jen. the small group of girls deciding at training earlier today they'd go out for a drink tonight since there wasn't a match this weekend.
the invitation had been extended to the whole team but a lot had plans to go and see partners or family in the short few days break.
"oh we don't have that issue here, do we katie?" jen teased with a smirk as the girl in question rolled her eyes. "i don't even know if she's workin jen, lay off!" she defended. :please like you haven't memorised her schedule by now." leah joined in with a chuckle.
"i feel like im missing some context here?" alessia piped up with a confused frown, not quite following along with the light hearted teasing.
"katies sleeping with one of the bar tenders." beth eagerly filled the younger blonde in as viv smacked her on the shoulder with a look of disapproval. "are you?" alessias curious gaze turned to katie who groaned.
"sometimes. it doesn't matter anyway its none of any of your businesses!" the brunette warned sternly, sending a particularly harsh look toward laura who couldn't seem to stop herself from laughing at the situation.
"wonderful. you can get the next round then!" leah grinned and gave her a shove almost sending the girl flying onto her ass out of the booth as katie shot leah a glare but nonetheless stood to her feet.
"russo you're coming with me, i need extra hands and you're the least annoying one present tonight." katie gestured toward the girl who scrambled quickly over leah.
"thank you…i think?" alessia frowned as katie slung an arm over her shoulder, tugging her away from the group who resumed their chatter. "so is she here?" the blonde asked looking around eagerly as they finally got to the bar.
"that one." katie gave in with a sigh, nudging alessia and pointing you out where you were busy making cocktails at the other end of the bar. "she's gorgeous." alessia stated with a nod of approval as katie couldn't help but chuckle, small talk made between the two as they waited for someone to come take their order.
someone who katie secretly hoped was you.
meanwhile you joked around around with a few regulars, making sure to maintain the bright smile on your face despite how much harder you were needing to work tonight, the growing frustration inside you that as per usual your boss had understaffed for a busy night to save money.
"well well, i thought i heard security talking about trouble brewing." you greeted the familiar irishwoman with a grin as you wiped your damp hands on your apron, katies own face curling into a smug smile as she shamelessly checked you out.
admittedly the brunette was somewhat of a weak spot for you, there was just something about her cheeky grin which oozed confidence, paired with that strong accent and effortless charm she made your knees buckle.
you wound up a messy of sweaty limbs tangled in one another's bedsheets far more often than you'd care to admit, reaching out to one another at all sorts of hours with all sorts of excuses for your late night visits.
it should have been a seemingly easy relationship, you used one another for whatever was needed without really holding any responsibilities for how the other felt.
the first time you'd slept together was a few months ago and you'd both agreed it was just a one time thing. merely a drunken fling as you and katie had shared a few drinks once you'd clocked off for the night, which inevitably ended in your sweaty bodies pressed up together in her bed a couple of hours later.
yet months later and here she still was, looking you up and down with a hungry glint in her eyes probably imagining the lustful activities she hoped would be happening later on.
there was just one small problem to all of this, which was that you secretly wanted more. you wanted her in a way where it didn't feel transactional, where you weren't just a late night thought but rather could be someone meaningful to her.
but you knew that wasn't on the cards for katie and so you'd convinced yourself into a firm state of delusion where it didn't hurt to continue on like nothing had changed and you didn't secretly hope for more.
your friends had begged you end it, seeing how much it knocked your normally confident persona down, playing on your self esteem and picking at insecurities you didn't even know were there as you couldn't help but wonder why she only wanted to keep it casual if it was such a seemingly common occurence.
you couldn't quite say when things had started to shift,. as at first you were more than satisfied with just being friends with benefits, barely meeting the friends part since you hardly knew anything about one another.
maybe that's what had made it easier in the early stages, that lack of knowledge and impersonal connection. you didn't know anything about football nor did you care to change that, so of course to you she was just a girl, not some big celebrity superstar athlete.
thats not to say she didn't show her athletic prowess in other ways, the irishwoman had the best stamina you'd ever seen and could go for hours without even needing a water break.
and when the relationship was only transactional, impersonal and occasional, you were fine with it.
but lately, lately things had been different. and it had all started a couple of weeks ago.
once the two of you had finished for the night, katie had stuck around. she begun to ask questions, about you, your work, your family, and to your shock seemed actually interested in the answers.
she hadn't stayed the night, only for a couple of hours and a cup of tea but it was out of the ordinary behavior from your usual arrangement. though you'd tried not to dwell on it too much, knowing that overthinking it was dangerous.
but then it had happened again the next time, and again the time after that. katie once more asking you question after question, and if she wasn't doing that she was telling you the more intimate details of her life and her family, or debriefing about a particularly hard training session or her concerns for an upcoming match.
without even realising it she'd kicked down your walls and she'd done the worst possible thing in a friends with benefits situation, she'd begun to accidentally indulge you into what it could be like if the two of you were more.
~
"we're completely out of bacardi and we're running low on jager." nathan, one of your coworkers, popped up beside you as you bent down to grab a cider for a customer from the fridges under the bar.
now counting down until the end of your shift, you were endlessly grateful you weren't on close tonight. though things had begun to die down, the more rowdier of patrons beginning to be moved on by security, you knew there would be some that lingered long into the night.
"there's more downstairs, i'll go stock up before i finish so you don't need to worry about it. can you handle this for awhile?" you offered, the boy sighing in relief and nodding with an appreciative smile.
you untied your apron and tossed it under the counter, jumping over the small gate at the end of the bar and ducking around the corner where only staff were allowed.
busying yourself quickly checking your phone you hadn't noticed someone follow, someone whose eyes had been trained to you most of the night, who'd been relentlessly teased by her friends for exactly that.
"scuse me but has anyone ever told you your bum looks quite peachy in those shorts?" your eyes flickered up from your screen as the brunette grinned cheekily, taking a few steps toward you as you shook your head and slipped your phone into your pocket.
"just drunken creeps who i've had kicked out right afterwards." you smiled, katies hands finding their way to your hips as she gently pressed you into the wall, blue eyes twinkling mischievously.
"send them my way next time, i'll be sure to teach em some manners about how to treat a pretty girl." katies smile widened as her eyes flickered down toward your lips.
"i'm still on the clock here mccabe." you chuckled, pushing her off gently as you knew what would happen next if you didn't. "well then when do you get off?" she asked, pressing her body back into yours as you shook your head.
"in an hour." you revealed watching her lips curl into a smirk. "then i'll meet you out back by your car." the older girl spoke suggestively, face so close to yours you could feel the warm tickle of her breath against your lips but then just like that she was gone, striding off back into the public area seeking out her friends.
with a sigh and a shake of your head you straightened up, banishing the lust which clouded your mind and hurrying off downstairs to the dry store.
~
of course katie wound up in your bed that night, a chorus of moans of plesure and lips smacking together in sloppy kisses, crisp linen gripped in white knuckled fists with sweaty limbs tangled.
this was then once again followed by a cup of tea and soft conversations about your childhood pets, quite the contrast from your previous activites.
then things only became stranger that next morning.
sundays were always your day off so you'd never have alarms set, allowing your body to wake you up whenever it was ready, purposefully never setting up any plans or commitments you needed to arise early for.
so when your eyes fluttered open around eleven in the morning, your room still quite dark due to an overcast and cloudy day, nothing seemed out of sorts.
it wasn't until you shifted tiredly that you felt someone move beside you. your body was instantly jolted awake, and that's when you became aware of the warm arm draped lazily over your naked midsection, an arm that was not yours.
with a sharp intake of breath you slowly turned your head to the side, seeing a mop of brunette hair sprawled across the pillows, duvet only partially covering her half naked form, tanned back moving up and down as she slept soundly with her face smushed into the mattress, and your eyes widened at the sudden realisation that katie had slept over.
she never slept over, even spending a few hours chatting your ear off with a cup of tea she'd never stayed afterwards. you weren't sure if she could hear but your hate rate began to thunder in your ears, thumping like horses hooves against a track as your cheeks flushed scarlet red.
"i can feel your eyes burning a hole into the side of my head ya know." the irishwoman finally spoke, accent somehow thicker in her half awake state as she gently pushed herself up and flopped onto her side with a tired sigh.
your skin burned where her arm had been as she retracted it, running a hand through her hair and flicking it to one side of her head, blinking tiredly with a stretch as your eyes did their best not to fall directly down to her bare chest.
"you can look you know, certainly did last night." she grinned, immediately noticing your internal struggle as her own blue eyes shamelessly roamed your naked body with a hungry glint before you tucked yourself more into the duvet making her chuckle.
"you stayed over." was all you could manage to spit out, raising an eyebrow in surprise. "with observations like that you could give up bar tending for some detective work." katie smiled teasingly as you rolled over and grabbed your top off the floor.
slipping it over your head to somewhat cover up you tossed katie's at hers, the material smacking her in the face as you sat up, snatching your underwear off the floor and wiggling quickly into it.
"you've never stayed over." you made your point a little firmer, slipping out of the bed as katie now sat up, tugging her own shirt on.
"well we were talking in bed and i guess we both fell asleep." the irishwoman shrugged casually, grabbing her suit pants off the floor and slipping into them, buttoning them as she stood. you only hummed not really believing her as the action was so out of character, but you were too tired to argue as you tied your hair up into a messy bun.
"you should come to the game today, there's still tickets." katie spoke up again, sat on the end of the bed as she laced up her shoes. you choking on your own spit at the shock from her statement, the girl glancing over her shoulder with an amused smile before turning back round, not mentioning anything more than that.
you walked her to the front door wordlessly, cogs going into overdrive in your mind, almost in shock katie couldn't hear how loud your overthinking was right now.
"catch you later maybe kid." katie winked charmingly, pressing a kiss to your cheek and stepping out the front door. striding down your driveway without a single look back she slipped into an uber as you touched your cheek and slowly closed your front door.
oh you were down bad, and maybe it was time you started dealing with it.
~
and that exact thought was how you found yourself huddled among a small group of your friends, rain drizzling down on your head and body tucked into itself trying to utilise your body heat to warm up.
your friend mathew was doing his very best to keep you interested, explaining every little rule and tactic that he could as the match dragged on, desperate to try and up your enthusiasm of what was apparently a fantastic game being played.
the poor boy raised a die hard arsenal fan was over the moon when you'd loosely mentioned attending as the two of you caught up for brunch. within five minutes he'd somehow conjured you up a ticket, forced you into a jersey, talked your ear off the entire car ride and here you were.
you'd chosen not to mention that the girl you were so hung up who was in your bed at least twice a week nowadays was the katie mccabe, you'd not told any of your friends her actual name only referring to her as 'bar girl', and so the only ones who could have put two and two together were maybe your coworkers.
though all of you were generally so run off your feet most nights they hardly batted an eyelid into your personal life, too focused on making it home to their own beds rather than being hung up on who was sneaking into yours.
"oh they're doing a lap! come on i wanna get my shirt signed by viv if i can she's one of the only ones im missing." mathew eagerly grabbed your hand, practically yanking you out of your chair and away from the rest of your friends who you hastily waved goodbye to.
"you know if i just gave you my jersey one time-" "no matty, the answer will always be a no." you chuckled, despite not knowing of your late night visitors identity the boy did know the arsenal girls frequented your workplace, and he was forever pestering you about having them sign something
you'd held firm with a no, and would continue to.
one of the main reasons the girls continued to come back was that you all made sure to treat them like actual people, and despite being more than household names your regulars tended to leave them be most of the time as well, most of the time.
you hung by yourself away from the main crowd eagerly chatting to the players, leaning against the barrier and busying yourself organizing to cover a few vacant shifts next week.
trying to save to upgrade your car you would take any extra money you could get at the moment, now only a few thousand away from your goal.
"want me to sign that for ya?" your head lifted at the familiar accent, meeting her mischievous blue eyes as she gave you an alluringly cheeky smile.
"no thanks i'm waiting for a starter, not a bench warmer." you quipped back, slipping your phone into your pocket as katie feigned offence.
"how about a goal scorer then?" the brunette moved a little closer, leaning on the barrier with her hands as your eyes drifted down to her well toned arms before flickering back upwards, which didn't go unnoticed by the irishwoman.
"oh did you score? didn't see." you brushed it off with a shrug, katie opening her mouth to speak but falling silent as mathew appeared back by your side, slinging an arm over your shoulder.
at the sight katies stomach flipped a little and her jaw clenched, she watched the boys mouth move, words clearly directed toward her as she only hummed and sent him a polite smile, barely listening.
"well well well, look who it is. our favourite bartender!" the brunette snapped back out of it as jen appeared by her side with a smirk, closely followed by beth. "i thought you weren't a football fan." beth teased, and katie watched as you gestured to the boy beside you, blaming him for your attendance.
you picked up on katies lack of joining into the conversation, trying to catch her attention again but eventually having to excuse yourself and mathew as you had dinner plans. "oo a hot date is it?" beth teased, shooting katie a subtle side eye, the blonde also picking up on her lack of effort to join in.
"every sunday! she loves me for my roast dinners." mathew grinned, pressing a sloppy kiss to your cheek as you gagged sarcastically and pushed his face away.
"see you round then." you smiled, directing the comment more toward katie than anyone else, frowning a little as she blanked you and walked off without so much as a glance your way.
~
you didn't see or hear from katie for the next few days, which wasn't all that abnormal seeing as since the two of you were just casually sleeping around you hardly had a regular routine of meet ups.
however when you did finally see her again it wasn't under circumstances you expected.
you were covering the closing shift for nathan tonight as it was his 30th birthday. the seemingly quiet Wednesday not one of your normal rostered days it seemed to be a running joke among the regulars present.
yet no matter how many times you heard the same one liner you still faked a laugh and a grin, watching the tip jar fill up gradually as you did so with a satisfied smile.
given it wasn't all that busy you found yourself people watching in the odd pockets of free time which fell your way, a habit which was easily one of your favorite perks of the job. yourself and your coworkers often busied yourself dreaming up extravagant imaginary lives for the drunken strangers occupying the bar.
but that was how you spotted her, tucked away in a table toward the back and not by herself, an unfamilar blonde sat beside her and the two seemed quite cosy. you watched with a frown as katie mucked about with the blonde, kissing her on the cheek as the girl shoved her away with a grin.
you couldn't but feel as though you'd been punched in the stomach as you wrenched your eyes away, plastering a fake smile on your face and hurrying off to serve a patron.
thankfully you managed to avoid interacting with the irishwoman for the most part, katie too busy entertaining her date as the blonde came up a few times to grab them both drinks, and by some miracle she'd been served by someone else each time.
though of course that luck didn't last.
as the bar began to empty you busied yourself starting to pack down and clean glasses. but you watched on hopelessly as katie made her way over and with your coworker for the night already occupied with other patrons you knew you'd have no way of avoiding her.
"hey." was all the brunette said with a smile that you returned, handing her a rum and a coke like she always ordered and waiting for if she wanted anything else. "oh nah just a water for me i'm drivin, and a glass of house red please." you nodded and wordlessly prepared her drinks.
"just 8.40." you placed the eftpos machine up on the counter as katie tapped her card and hearing the beep you turned back to what you were doing. "hey, can i see you later?" you glanced up realizing she hadn't left yet, lingering at the counter with her drinks in hand and a hopeful look in her eyes.
"i'm on close tonight." you shook your head and katie frowned, unsure why you seemed so upset with her. "i just wanted to-" the brunette started but you cut her off with a scoff, in disbelief she was really trying to come onto you while out with another woman.
casual or not you had higher standards for yourself than that, and maybe your friends were right and it was time you started to treat yourself with a little more kindness.
"i'm working katie, just leave me alone." and with that you ducked out back before the irishwoman could even say another word, stunned at the somewhat aggressive tone which still lingered in the air after your abrupt exit.
~
since the frosty encounter katie had tried to call and message you but with no response and left on read she'd taken the hint and had backed off.
she'd still been around with her team mates over the weekend for dinner in the restaurant but didn't dare come to order a drink at the bar since you were on shift.
most of the girls gave up questioning her about what had happened, noticing that something had shifted between the two of you, and with a stern warning from the irishwoman hadn't dared to ask you about it either.
but ever persistent and hating to see the obvious discontent hidden behind her friends eyes that the others missed, leah continued to press her for an answer.
"oh for fuck sakes cause she's got a boyfriend leah!" katie eventually snapped and gave in as the blonde had once more cornered her for an interrogation. "what! are you sure? since when?" leah frowned, crossing her arms over her chest and leaning against the wall.
"i dunno! i met him at that game she came to, he's not even a good lookin fella." katie huffed with a roll of her eyes, sitting down at her locker and beginning to take off her boots. "i thought that she seemed quite into you?" leah sat down beside her as katie sighed deeply.
"i don't know i thought she was. we'd been talking a lot, getting to know each other better, it was starting to feel like more but i guess not. ever since i met him she's been blankin me so i guess whatever it was with us is over now." katie shrugged it off, not wanting to dwell on the subject as she brushed leah off to go for a shower.
"and please don't tell anyone leah!"
and leah tried not to, she really did. but when beth continued to pester katie and she could see the annoyance building, she figured she would be doing the girl a favour by filling the girl in.
"wait that was her boyfriend? i was only joking about the date thing." beth frowned, both girls having filled the other in over a coffee. "did they seem like they were? katie said she's ghosted her ever since so i guess it makes sense?" leahs eyebrows knitted together in confusion.
little did they both know just how wrong they were.
~
"oh! thats him, thats the boyfriend." beths eyes widened as she gripped leahs bicep, yanking her around to look where she pointed, mathew hanging around chatting to a few of their team mates.
"wait him? i've met that guy a bunch times he's here almost every match." leah realised, beth tightening her grip on her and marching the two of them in the boys direction.
"no personal bartender with you today then?" beth plastered a smile on her face, not wanting to go in with all guns blazing and scare the poor guy off. "oh her? please it took me almost twenty two years to get that girl to come to one game!" the boy laughed and re-introduced himself at beths subtle request.
"twenty two years?" leah frowned a little at the timeline, trying to piece it together. "yeah we go way back, grew up together since we were kids. pretty sure our parents were convinced we were gonna get married someday!" he joked with a grin, beth and leah exchanging a look.
"were?"
"well yeah, when they realised i liked boys and she liked girls that put a bit of a pin in their plans." mathew chuckled, leahs face paling as beth bit her lip to hide a smile at their obvious blunder. "so you two aren't..." beth gestured as the boys eyes widened and he laughed harder.
"please! god no. why, are one of you interested?" he winked, well aware of their ongoing presence at your workplace.
"but no she's very much so single. i've begged her to let me get her back into the dating scene but she's hopelessly hung up on some girl she's been sleeping with for months now-" the boy rolled his eyes, and had you been present you'd have smacked the living daylights out of him for oversharing, his favorite habit.
"-but this girl only wants something casual where as she wants more. so i've tried to get her to cut it off but she's convinced it doesn't hurt to keep it going, which i know her like the back of my hand and believe me, it's hurting her." mathew sighed with a shake of his head, eyes widening when he realized who he was actually talking to.
"but i am very very certain that she would kill me for sharing all of that so please if you see her at the bar don't mention it. i'd quite like to live to see next week i have tickets to next weekends match." the boy joked, glancing over his shoulder as a few of his friends called out for him.
"well fantastic game girls it was lovely speaking to you both. thank you for your time and i am very sorry for filling it with my own voice." he winced apologetically, flashing them a dazzling smile before hurrying off after his friends.
"find katie?" "find katie."
~
you looked over your shoulder in surprise as there was a knock at your door, a quick tap of your phone screen showing it was nearly half seven at night, hardly a time for a door to door salesmen to be coming round, and most of your friends knew where your spare key was and never hesitated to let themselves in.
pausing the episode of love island you were catching up on as you cooked, you tucked your phone into the pocket of your hoodie and padded over to the door, cautiously opening it as another knock sounded.
"we need to talk."
you stepped back as katie shot past you, a blur of red having just come from a video study debrief for the teams upcoming match against chelsea.
she knew you didn't work sundays so took a shot in the dark that you'd be home, grateful it paid off as you closed your door. "please, come in!" you scoffed at her abruptness, following after her into the kitchen.
"i'm not sleeping with you." you started firmly, crossing your arms over your chest as katie now scoffed, taking a seat at the kitchen bench. "when i said we needed to talk, i meant with our mouths and not with our tongues." the irishwoman quipped back causing a slight blush to creep over your cheeks.
"what's there to talk about katie?" you withheld a groan at the intrusion, ignoring her patting the seat beside her for you to sit down as if she was in her own home, instead you chose to stay standing a few feet away from her.
"why you're actin funny with me." the brunette folded her arms sternly and raised an eyebrow, now thanks to her faithful blonde friends she knew you didn't have a boyfriend she wanted answers as to why you'd been ignoring her.
"i've just been busy." you lied, turning your back to her and busying yourself resuming the chopping and prepping for your dinner, hoping with some minimal responses the brunette would grow tired and hopefully leave.
"bullshit, ya never ignore me entirely." katie held firm, and you could feel her eyes bore into the back of your head like lasers. "why do you even care? its not like we're dating or you can't get your needs met elsewhere." you added the last part a little bitterly, a pause of silence falling between the two of you.
"and what's that supposed to mean then?" katie scoffed, raising an eyebrow at the obvious change of tone. "you know what it means i'm not spelling it out for you." you shook your head, the only sound being your knife hitting the board as you chopped up the peppers.
"jesus would you stop that and actually talk to me?" katie snapped, standing to her feet with a frustrated huff. "okay. you want to do this? fine, lets do this." you also snapped, dropping the knife and spinning around to face the older girl.
"i thought that whatever we were doing was completely casual, a friends with benefits situation and i was fine with that." you started, crossing your arms over your chest. "but then you made it complicated." you accused, pointing at her as she made a face of both confusion and offence.
"i made it complicated? till yesterday i thought ya had a boyfriend you were using me to cheat on with!" katie defended making you now pull a face. "what on earth gave you that impression?" you asked, face scrunched up in both disgust and confusion at the mere thought.
"your boy mathew or whatever his name was!" katie rolled her eyes and you paused for a minute before letting out a loud sarcastic bark of laughter. "my best friend? jesus no he's not my boyfriend katie i'm a lesbian for god sakes!" you corrected now with a roll of your own eyes.
"and like you're one to talk about loyalty anyway. asking me to 'hang out' right after you're on a date with another girl and at my job of all places, you don't want to be used to cheat with? i don't like being a backup option when your first one isn't interested in rounding the bases with you." you spat, katie scoffing at the accusation.
"a date? when the hell did i go on a date? you're deluded!" she waved you off with a shake of her head, accent only getting thicker the more upset she became, still not understanding why everything had changed.
"don't you gaslight me! the blonde you took to dinner the other night, you two certainly seemed cosy." your nostrils flared angrily as you held your ground, not allowing what you'd seen to be dismissed. "the blonde what-" katie grimaced trying to think back, but then it clicked.
and she did quite possibly the worst thing she could have within that moment, grabbing her stomach and doubling over in laughter, which you assumed was at you.
"okay you know what? this conversation is over. get the hell out!" you ordered angrily, clearing the distance between the two of you in a few steps and shoving at her as the brunette barely stumbled backwards, still trying to catch her breath.
"you're quite gorgeous when you're jealous ya know." the irishwoman smirked cockily and your cheeks flushed red at the sudden shift in tone. "i repeat, get. out." you recovered quickly, pointing toward the front door as katies smirk only widened, advancing slowly toward you.
"katie-" you started to warn, backing up until you smacked into the counter, the brunette pressing her body against yours, hands flushed flat on the marble counter as she smiled smugly down at you. "say that again then, tell me to leave and i will."
you tried to tell her to get out, you really did, but as she lent down and brought her face closer to yours you were consumed by the alluringly comforting smell of her perfume, knees wobbly at her pearly white smile and the cheeky twinkle of her blue eyes.
but as your stomach fluttered and your heart leapt into your throat, you remembered that to her this was all just a game, it would never be anything more than this and for your own peace and protection, you couldn't give in.
"get out, please." you dropped your gaze right before her lips could touch softly to your own, gently pushing her off and quickly rounding the counter, trying to put as much distance between the two of you as you could.
"that wasn't a date ya know." you refused to turn around at her words, instead grabbing your knife again and resuming the chopping of your vegetables. "hey would you stop that, please." you hadn't heard her make your way over to you, her hand grabbing yours as you dropped the knife with a sigh.
"five minutes. just give me that to hear me out and then if you still want me to go i'm gone and ya won't hear from me again." she requested softly, you hesitated but after a quick glance at her pleading face you gave in with a sigh.
keeping a firm grip on your hand the irishwoman lead you over to the sofa, gently sitting you down before she took her own seat at the opposite end, purposefully giving you some space.
"that wasn't a date. that blonde lass you saw me with last week was one of my sisters, she came and stayed with me for a few days to see the game and catch up while she's on break from uni." katie started to explain as you felt your cheeks burn bright red in embarrassment, burying your face in your hands with a gentle groan.
"stop that, listen." katie lent forward, tugging your hands away and nudging you to sit up before she settled back and continued. "and the whole reason that i brought her to your work was so she could see ya, cause i might have talked her ear off about you." katies own cheeks now flushed a rosy pink as you frowned slightly.
"because if you'd have spoke with me that night, i was going to ask you on a date." katie revealed nervously, fidgeting a little in her spot. "you were?" was all you could manage to get out, positively overwhelmed at the thought.
"well actually i was going to ask for some clarification around the boyfriend thing, but then if we worked that out yeah i wanted to ask ya on a date." katie smiled awkwardly, rubbing her hands nervously on her thighs.
"but i don't-i thought you wanted things to be casual." you stammered out. "i thought you wanted things to be casual, i'd have asked you out after we first slept together until you brought up it being a one time thing." katie admitted as your eyes widened further.
"which is why i made sure i always left right after, didn't get to know ya, kept it casual. cause i guess you're alright in bed!" the girl teased cheekily, softening the somewhat awkward tension a little which you were grateful for.
"but then i couldn't help myself. i really wanted to get to know you more so i started hanging around a little, asking some stuff, testing the waters. then when you didn't immediately kick me out i thought maybe you might be into us being not so casual." katie admitted, the shy and nervous side of her she was revealing now not anything you'd ever seen from the brunette before.
"then mathew came into the picture and it threw me off!" katie rolled her eyes, a small smile curling into your lips as the puzzle pieces started to align in your head.
"so i guess that kind of brings us to now, and was really all i wanted to say." katie looked to you somewhat hopefully, awaiting to see what you would say next in return.
"i only said we should keep things casual after we slept together because i thought that's what you wanted, and i was fine with it too for awhile. but then you started to hang around and ask questions and seem interested, and then you slept over!" you paused for a moment to collect your thoughts as katie watched on, intently listening.
"well you made it complicated like i said and then i started to indulge myself into the delusions of what things would be like if we were something more. but i never thought you felt the same way and then you asked me to come to your game but you were being weird and quiet the whole time. then you came in with what i assumed was a date that really hit home for me that all we would ever be was casual." you revealed with a small wince at the obvious misunderstandings from the both of you.
"and i don't want that. my friends are all off having kids or getting engaged and i want something more than just casual sex, i want to mean something to someone which is why i brushed you off and sort of ghosted you i guess." you laid your own feelings down on the line somewhat hesitantly, scared for what it meant but unable to continue holding them back anymore.
"so you're telling me, that we could have been something more for the last few months if we just...talked about it." katie cracked a small smile which you returned with a slow nod, the two of you sharing a look before breaking out into a bout of soft laughter.
"jesus christ what a mess." katie sunk into the sofa with another laugh, dragging her hands down her face in disbelief. "do you want to stay for dinner?" you asked with a soft smile, head flopping against the back of the couch as you stared at the irishwoman a few feet away who perked up at the offer.
"i'd love to."
~
"no you chose last night! give it to me katie, now." you ordered with a huff, struggling to stay balanced as you straddled your girlfriends leg, craning for the remote which the taller girl held just out of your reach.
"i don't want to watch that reality crap you'll put on, can't we at least watch a movie?" katie held firm, pushing you away with her spare hand as you continued to fight her for the remote.
"no! you said that last night and then you fell asleep about ten minutes in." you rolled your eyes at the memory, squealing as a pair of strong arms wrapped around your waist, quickly pushing you down onto the lounge as she now sat on top of you.
"well here i am wide awake baby girl, so how about we ditch the tv all together and go to bed?" the footballer smiled suggestively, still holding the remote out of your reach. "sure." you smirked, grabbing her collar and pulling her down into a kiss.
"after we watch love island." you snatched the remote from her, taking advantage of her moment of weakness as you pushed her off of you, hastily sitting up and getting comfortable again as you navigated through to find the latest episode.
"are you serious? you would rather watch that crap than have sex with me right now?" katies chest heaved a little at the sudden passionate kiss which was rudely stolen from her, propping her body up on her elbows.
"i can get you in my bed any night of the week you're quite easy, love island is only on wednesdays." you grinned cheekily, clicking into the episode and patting the space beside you. "easy she says!" katie scoffed in disbelief, sitting upright but staying on the other side of the sofa, arms crossed with a frown embedded into her eyebrows.
with a roll of your eyes at her dramatics you shuffled down the lounge, forcefully uncrossing her arms and maneuvering your body to settle half on top of her, back wedged against the arm of the sofa while your legs draped across her lap, shaking out a blanket and settling it over the two of you.
"relax the face baby, at your age you'll get wrinkles." you teasingly rubbed your thumbs against her forehead as she scoffed. "my age! i'm only two years older than ya!" the bruntte shook her head, offence written all over her face as you grinned at how easy she was to wind up.
"you know i've always been into older women." you wiggled your eyebrows as the girls large hand came to cover your face, shoving your head away playfully. "shut up and watch your shit show."
though of course after ten minutes katie was fully invested, asking you all sorts of questions as you'd settled into her arms, her hands sliding under your top and resting on your stomach.
both of you content in the little bubble of domestic bliss you'd created, wrapped around one anothers fingers tightly and very much so smitten, not a single casual thing about any of it.

Making up SMUT
Leah Williamson x reader
Tumblr media
They say best sex is make up sex? They are absolutely right.
I would like to say that this is pretty much pure filth besides the little plot in the start
Warnings: SMUT, FILTH :) (some anal stuff in the end, dom/sub dynamics, mommy kink whups.)
Words: around 2k
"Can you just be quiet for a while" Leah said with an annoyed tone and even more annoyed expression on her face.
The day had been long and full of frustration. The reason behind all of the frustration and snarky comments was the fact that you were moving to a new place. You would think it's romantic but no, the reality was a lot of lifting, sweating, arguing and eye rolling.
"So I can't even breath and eat now without you complaining?" You snapped back with the same attitude.
"Yeah but can you just do it more quietly?"
"What the fuck Leah, how can I breathe more quie- Or you know whatever I'm gonna make the bed" You just said and left.
There wasn't a lot of things ready in the apartment but you decided that you would not sleep on a mattress on the floor. So you decided that the bed would be the one thing that would be all ready for the nigh, it only needed the blankets and pillows, everything else was ready.
It was already 21.30 and you just wanted the long day to end, you took you sweaty clothes off and grabbed some clean pillow cases to put on the pillows. You didn't get far though, you heard the sound of your girlfriend walking closer to you.
"I don't know what has been your problem today Leah but I'm so tired of-" you started while putting the pillow case on but didn't make it till the end of the sentence because Leah turned you around and kissed you roughly. It was all very unexpected so you gasped to the kiss which led Leah to dip her tongue in your mouth. You tried to dominate the kiss but both of you knew that it would be Leah who was controlling it.
You moaned to the kiss which was a mistake.
"You are such a slutty girl, even with being all annoyed at me and back talking to me, all you need is your pussy to be filled right? So fucking needy cunt you have huh?" Leah just smirked against your lips.
You rolled your eyes and tried to turn around but Leah's grip was stronger.
"Oh so now you are rolling your eyes at me again? Answer the question baby or you won't be getting anything else but denial today" Leah continued.
"Just fuck me already" You said and tried to kiss her again.
"Oh someone is feeling bratty today? Hmm, let's see what I can do about it" She simply said before pushing you to the bed.
It was easy to take your underwear off since you already didn't have any pants on.
Leah attacked your clit immediately. It was a surprise and you were right away overwhelmed with the pleasure. Leah was sucking hard and the moans that left your mouth were sinful.
"Feeling still bratty" Leah asked while stopping with her mouth, she instead brought her fingers to your opening and easily pushed two of them in.
"Shit Leah, harder" You moaned in a desperate need of an orgasm.
"Poor baby, you think you are the one making the calls here?" Leah laughed a little before pulling out of you.
Next her mouth was sucking on your clit once again, you were close in the matter of minutes from Leah pushing you to the bed but you knew that Leah was not gonna let you that easily off the hook.
Your moaning got louder as her sucking and flicking on your clit did. She was clearly on a mission but you did not know what her goal was. You just tried to enjoy the pleasure while it lasted.
"Leah can I cum?" You asked as you neared the edge.
"Do it but I will say that you will not enjoy this one" She answered you which you didn't even really register the last part.
You crossed the line and started coming but Leah just stop the second you did. You tried to bring your own hands back to where you needed them most but Leah denied it. It was the most unpleasant orgasm you had had in your entire life.
”Leah what?” You asked out of breath.
”I told you that you were not going to like it” She said casually and walked to one of the move in boxes on the floor. There was a little back that she took out. You already knew that it was going to be a strap but to your surprise it was a strap that also went inside Leah. It was weirdly shaped but all you wanted was to have that thing inside of you.
You were tired to think already with your fuzzy brain, all the brattines was slowly gone and you were ready to be anything Leah wanted you to be just to get another orgasm. And this time an actual orgasm.
"Hmm your pussy looks so pretty for me, already open and ready to take my strap. Wanna have this inside you baby?" Leah asked and you knew you didn't even have to give an answer because Leah was going to fuck you with the strap.
"Please" You pleaded for the first time of the night. It was quiet but that was all Leah needed.
Leah got on the bed and got rid of her own bottoms, throwing them somewhere in the room. Then she situated you closer to the wall and her fingers dove to your folds. You let out a moan but just like that Leah's fingers were gone.
You look at her and saw the gorgeous image of your girlfriend using your cum as a lube for herself to get her side of the dildo in. She slowly got it inside of her and toyed with it for awhile and you just sat there amazed. You couldn't take your eyes of off the sight of your girl fucking herself while using your arousal as lube. It drove you to another kind of submissive mode, one you had never felt before. All you wanted was to please Leah.
"Do you deserve my cock?" She asked you after she was all comfortable with her side if the dildo inside her.
"Yes please, need it so badly Lee, I need you please" You begged. It wasn't what Leah expected, she thought that the brattines was still there but she was happy to find out that she had (once again) turned you into a submissive mess. She did take a notice of how your entire demeanor changed so quickly and decided to keep an extra observant eye on you.
She had you on your back while she got the tip of the dildo teasing your folds. It already made you moan and whine.
"Please mommy" You pleaded. You didn't even realize the words slipping out of your mouth, as your brain was completely fuzzy.
Leah was surprised by the words but they brought another wave of wetness to her already wet heat. "Let mommy make you feel all better" She just went with it.
She lined the dildo to your whole, brought your legs to her shoulders and thrusted her hips all the way til they met your ass.
"Fuck, fuck mommy please" You moaned in pleasure. Her hips were slowly drawing moans and whimpers out of you.
"So pretty and good for me now, where was this girl earlier today?" She asked you while quickening her moves.
" 'm sorry mommy, just needed y- "You tried to start but one harder push of Leah's hips cut the sentence.
Leah just laughed and started pounding into you. You tried to say how good it feels but it all came out as blubbering mess. Your brain was working overtime trying to handle all the pleasure it was getting.
Somehow Leah was able to flip you around easily so you were on all fours. Ass in the air and ready to more pleasure. You now realized that Leah was full of surprises that day as you felt her fingers on your asshole. It made you jump a bit but it wasn't anything you hadn't had before.
"Shit I'm gonna strech this ass open and fuck you in both of your needy holes at the same time” Leah explained as she started to prop one lubed finger inside of your tight hole.
”God please” You moaned as you felt your tighter hole being stretched open.
“No god in this room baby, just me” You could hear the smirk in her voice. The stretch in your ass was everything you needed. You could feel the burn of her finger knuckle deep and another finger making its way in.
You were in another planet as Leah was opening your ass and pussy at the same time. It was all you needed, the burn in you ass as it was streched open, your cunt was filled so good and the moment Leah brought her finger to your already sensitive clit, you were a goner.
”Shit, shit, shit, shit” You kept moaning as one of the strongest orgasms took over your body. Leah knew that she was supposed to keep denying your orgasm but was just in awe to see you come so hardly with a strap in you pussy and her fingers in your ass.
”Keep coming baby, keep coming” Leah kept prolonging your orgasm. Her fingers were tired and she was also on the edge. Seeing you squirm and moan in pleasure was all she needed to be thrown over the edge.
She kept her fast pounding going to get the most pleasure out of the whole situation. She was in heaven as she saw you completely blissed out in front of her.
”Mhmm that was good”You mumbled to the mattress.
”You don’t think we are done yet? Oh no we have still a lot more to come, do you think I have forgotten how you told me about your little crush on McCabe? She might come over to see us and bring a little gift even” Leah said while once again turning you over after she removed her fingers and toy from inside of you. You saw the smirk on her face and were scared of what was to come.
”Look baby, you have made a mess on my cock” She said as she turned your face to see the strap that was still inside her. ”I think you should have to clean it because you just came without permission”
Your brain wasn’t working and you just stared at the dildo in front of you.
”I. said. clean. it” Leah said much more sternly now. Now your brain got the hint and lowered your face to the dildo. The taste of your own cum was salty but you didn’t care. You just kept bobbing your head up and down until you were gaggin on the toy.
”Mhmm so good but I think you still need a bit more to learn your lesson so you wont be snapping to me anymore” Leah smirked and as she said that there was a knock at the door.
”Mhmm baby. Maybe you should go open the door I think there might be someone for you” Leah said and helped you up from the bed.
Your brain was now working a bit better as you walked with your wobbly legs closer to the door. You were very conscious about the fact that you did not have any clothes on. Was this all along Leah's plan? Was she making you angry and annoyed to later bring someone else to the bed?
You shyly looked at Leah as you started opening the door. Leah gave you an encouraging smile and you unlocked the door, still naked, to the sight of Katie.
"Shit Leah what have you done already, I thought we were supposed to ruin her together" Katie said to Leah when she saw you already all fucked and a post orgasm smile on your face.
"She was getting all bratty so I had to teach her a little lesson before you come over" Leah said proudly.
You stepped out of the way to make Katie some room to get inside the apartment.
When you saw a bulge in Katie's pants, you knew it was going to be a long night.

You're Gonna Go Far || awfc x reader

prompt: requested!
warnings: none!
“Foord… will you please… tell your girlfriend to…. unhook her arm from… around my neck?” You struggled to breathe out because of the unworldly size of Katie’s bicep bulging straight into your windpipe. Katie had you stationed in a headlock in the middle of the changing room. You had jokingly called her ‘McCard’ after the Irishwoman had stolen the last piece of licorice out of your package before training. You felt the nickname was warranted but Katie playfully took offense and began to play wrestling with you.
“Babe, let the kid go.” Caitlin hummed out, not even looking up from her phone as she sat in her designated cubby. She was used to the antics the two of you would get up to, when the two of you were together, you both always seemed to find trouble. So today was no surprise.
Katie thankfully let go of your head as you stumble back and dramatically take several loud breaths out, even hurling over with your hands on your knees, acting as if you had just run 100 sprints to really up the show.
“Oh if football doesn’t work out, you have a career in acting.” Katie chuckled as she gently shoved your shoulder.
You mustered up your best Irish accent and said, “Of course missus, anything for you missus” pretending to be Katie, implying that she was an absolute simp for the Australian. Which was so incredibly true, but she wouldn’t be caught dead admitting it.
“GET BACK HERE” Katie screamed as she began chasing you around the room in circles. Running out the door as you ran straight into Leah. You quickly turn around and use her body to shield you away from an angry Katie McCabe, shifting her side to side as she tries to latch onto you from around Leah.
“Hey hey hey, leave me out of your battles!” Leah told you as she escaped from your grasp. A now more serious look on the defender’s face, “Also kid, the staff wants to speak with you before training.”
“Ooo you’re in trouble.” Kyra joked as she stood behind Leah, trying to get back into the changing room because she forgot her water bottle. You shot her a glare, “I’m bringing you down with me if so” you told her and stuck your tongue out as you left the changing room and headed towards the main office.
The Arsenal staff broke the news that you would be going out on loan to the London City Lionesses at the end of the week. They had made a massive bid for you and were excited about your arrival. You tried your best to contain your rocky emotions as you bid them farewell and headed out towards the pitch for training, wanting to escape the room as fast as you could.
Signing a professional contract was what every little kid dreamed of growing up and playing football. You were incredibly lucky to be able to have achieved your dreams, especially at a club with such a history like Arsenal. Growing up in the Arsenal youth academy, it was really all you knew. The Arsenal girls were at first mentors and role models and now you considered them family. You put in the work on and off the pitch and it had paid off. You signed your first contract at age 19 and each day in training you grew as a player.
When the ACL squad had gone out, you were able to get some professional experience on the pitch, but with many of the players returning and Arsenal leveling up during the transfer windows, you had been sidelined for the most part. But Arsenal was your home. The red and gold badge meant so much more to you.
North London is your home. Meadow Park is your home. The Emirates is your home.
Temporary.
Temporary.
Temporary.
It was the only thing running through your mind. The loan was temporary. You will eventually return back to Arsenal, return back home. You would prove to your parent club that you deserved to be here. That you deserved to play here.
“How come the kid can be late but when I’m late I have to run extra laps.” Katie joked and many of your teammates laughed as you ran onto the pitch a few minutes late after your meeting. You tried to fake a laugh, it was inherently funny, but you were focused on something much bigger. No one caught onto your act, or at least that is what you thought, trying to be extra convincing as you didn’t need the extra pestering at the moment. But Leah immediately saw through you. You had given her the same laugh when she would show you a TikTok that you saw 3 weeks ago, or when she would try and use ‘gen-z slang’ but fail terribly. It would then lead you to repeatedly call her an old woman although she was only a few years older than you. She decided to let it pass. She didn’t want to bring it up in the middle of training, but she made a mental note to ask you about it later.
At training, your mind was completely somewhere else. Your shots on goal were subpar and your passes were extremely inaccurate. All you could focus on was the impending loan and leaving your home.
“Watch out!” Beth yelled out as her ball narrowly missed your head by mere inches as you weren’t paying attention. You were physically present on the pitch, but mentally and emotionally you were so far gone.
Being on loan was never a good feeling, but it gave you the opportunity to grow your game and get solid minutes on the pitch. It was going to be beneficial to get match experience under your belt instead of warming the end of the bench, but that didn’t make it hurt any less.
It was ripping you away from where you belonged, where your teammates, who were now family, were.
“Kid, are you with us?” Viv's question takes you out of your trance. She can tell by the way your eyes were glazed over, or perhaps by the ball that almost sent your head clear off your shoulders. She saw your eyes the same way when you would watch Love Island on the coach to away games and she would try to talk to you, and you wouldn’t even realize.
“Yeah yeah, all good.” You lied, hoping the way your voice dropped would be unnoticed by the Dutch woman.
You belonged in Arsenal red. The Arsenal women are your family. You couldn’t even begin to fathom leaving or playing for another club.
Your answer seemed to suffice her as you ran off to get the ball Beth had sent way off the right side of the pitch. As you walked back, you surveyed the scene.
First, you saw Leah. You lived with Leah when she graciously opened her home to you when you first signed, not wanting you to be alone at such a young age yet. She told you that she ‘saw herself in you’ after she had come and watched one of the academy games that you had scored at and gave the small crowd a badge tap. She bled Arsenal through and through, and that mindset was passed down to you. You were a true Gooner deep down to your core.
Then you saw Kim. Kim was like a mother figure for you on and off the pitch. She captained you hard, but it was only because she knew you could measure up to her strict standards. She was the first one to congratulate you on a good training session or a solid game, but also the first to give you advice on how to improve your game.
Then it was Viv. Viv was always who you turned to for advice. She knew what it was like to sign a professional contract at a young age and knew how tough it could be. You had made a good name for yourself and there were several expectations put on you, both from the public but also yourself. She always managed to say the right thing and help you calm down from the stressful nature of the sport.
When you wanted to escape the serious part of professional football, you always found yourself goofing off with Kyra or Vic. Kyra, Vic, and you were designated the “annoying younger sisters” and the three of you gladly accepted the role. Hiding matchday kits, spraying teammates with water, or playing little pranks on the girls, it was always one of you three behind the action, or sometimes all three of you worked together to terrorize the girls.
You had made several strong connections with every single girl. They were your sisters/mothers/best friends. You couldn’t even begin to imagine leaving them. They were your family.
A new location, a new team, and new teammates, it was terrifying.
You had decided to keep the loan a secret for now, it was too much to think about right now, and you were both nervous and scared. The secret was kept for roughly 2 hours because at lunch, sat across from Alessia, she had asked you to go with her to a new restaurant next week that she had been dying to try.
“I’m uh going on loan” was merely breathed out in a hushed whisper. It was the first time you had said it out loud, suddenly becoming real. You were leaving.
“Sorry didn’t catch that, what?” Alessia asked, assuming she had simply just heard you wrong and you didn’t just say that you were going on loan.
“London City Lionesses, loan, next week.” You told her as you stared down at your food. You no longer felt like eating anymore. Bidding her goodbye before she could ask any more questions. Questions that you were not ready to answer. You didn’t want to think about the loan anymore. Walking back out to the pitch to work on a few shots on goal. Wanting to do something to clear your mind.
Your sudden exit did not go unnoticed by your teammates as they now hurled questions at Alessia. She was sure you hadn’t told the other girls yet by the mere way you could barely say the word ‘loan’. She now connected the dots that that was the reason for your meeting before training, the reason you had been late. She was at a crossroads, does she tell her teammates or wait for you to say something, I mean it was your secret to begin with.
“You guys will just have to ask her,” Alessia said as she shoved more food in her mouth to avoid spilling the secret, she was never good with keeping secrets.
Several head nods targeted toward the blonde striker as they finished their meals and made moves to begin going home for the day. Something stuck with Leah though.
The fake laugh at Katie’s joke, your lack of awareness at training, and the way you left during the middle of lunch, Leah was concerned for you.
Leah drove you every day to training and she was ready to finally go home, but she could not find you anywhere. She searched the changing room, the lunchroom, and the showers. She even interrogated Kyra and Vic thoroughly to see if they had something to do with your absence. You were nowhere to be found.
“Leah she’s on the training pitch. She has been out there since lunch. I think that is where she escaped off too.” Viv told Leah as she entered the changing room again when she started to recheck each location to see if you had suddenly appeared. Viv had caught sight of you out there as she finished up her cooldown exercises in the gym.
Back on the training pitch, you practiced over and over. Running through different dribbling drills and hitting specific targets on goals, you were dead tired. But your mind was incredibly active. What if you never returned back to Arsenal? What if Arsenal didn’t want you anymore? Maybe the loan was a way of sending you off to be someone else’s problem? Tears began to fall from your eyes, but you continued practicing. You needed to prove you belonged on this team. All of your shots were messy and ill-timed, but you continued to practice.
“I’ve been looking for you everywhere. Let’s go home, the car is already started.” Leah yelled out to you as she walked towards you. She was clearly unaware of what emotions you were currently going through, and the way tears fell freely down to your cheeks. “Hey, what’s wrong?” She asked as she took in your state, pulling you away from the goalpost and bringing you in for a hug, rubbing circles on your upper back as you sobbed into her chest.
For the next couple of minutes, you stood on the pitch in Leah’s arms, embracing her warm nature and comforting essence as you calmed down a bit. Breaking the silence after your breathing had returned to a normal pace and the tears had stopped, “Do you want to talk about it?” she asked. Now shifting the two of you to sit on the pitch next to each other, but she never let go of your hand, intertwining them as she sat.
“The staff meeting was about me going on loan to London City Lionesses at the end of the week. I’m just really scared Lee. I don’t want to leave Arsenal.” You wanted to sob again thinking about leaving, even the mention of it made your heart break even more.
Leah’s more serious face turned now soft as she brushed her thumb along the top of your hand, understanding now your odd character at training all day. “I know going on loan can be scary, but you are going to grow as a player, and you will return back to us kid. You are too vital for us to lose forever. The staff just wants you to get some more professional experience and then come back to us ready to score goals and dominate.” She spoke as if she meant every single sentence, and it was because she did, and you knew that.
“So you’re not mad?” Leah was Arsenal’s number one fan, you weren’t sure how she would take you leaving and playing for another club.
“Of course, I am not mad. You’re gonna go far kid, show London City your talents, and then eventually bring them back to Arsenal kid.” Bringing you upwards as she hugged you tightly.
“Let’s go home now yeah?” she asked as you simply nodded into her chest. Pulling you by your hand as she led you to the car.
Maybe going on loan would be a good thing. You would excel in a new environment, no matter how scary it was, and then return home. You would prove all the doubt in your head about not being a good enough player for Arsenal and show you could play for this team. Play in the Arsenal red.
On the way home, Leah sent a text message to a couple of the Arsenal girls about the situation and Leah requested a team movie night at her place. All of the girls were immediately on board and would be in attendance.
When you arrived home, you wanted to be alone. It was a long day and you needed to decompress a bit from the loan news and ultimately a bad day at training. You told Leah you would be up in your room if she needed anything and that you would be back down for dinner later.
A few hours later there was a soft knock at your door and assuming it was Leah, you told her to come in. Sat on your bed with your eyes closed, thinking about everything.
"Hey kid, Leah told me about the loan." Opening your eyes to find the Irishwoman standing in the middle of your bedroom. She made her way over to your bed and sat down horizontally next to you.
"I remember when I went on loan. It was scary, yes, but it made me really appreciate what I had here at Arsenal. I worked so hard and I was able to return. I have no doubt in my mind that you will come back to us, kid." She explained to you. You didn't feel the need to respond, instead pulling her in for a hug. "There are some people here downstairs for you too." She whispered in your ear.
Together you walked downstairs to the living room and were met with several of your teammate's family. A majority of them were dressed in comfy clothes, passing around snacks on the large couch that Leah had.
"Movie night," Leah told you as she came behind you and wrapped you in a hug.
You settled in between Alessia and Leah as everyone decided on a movie to watch. Beth advocated for a movie that really nobody wanted to watch as Viv tried to negotiate with her and chose a different film.
Finally settling on a Disney classic that Leah had suggested, knowing it was your favorite of all time, Tangled, and everyone agreed.
The movie night was relaxing and chill until about halfway through when Katie began to get bored and started throwing popcorn at you from her location opposite of you on the couch. Of course that gave you the right to start throwing small gummy bears back at the Irish. A couple of them were a bit misplaced as they now hit Kyra who immediately joined in throwing her own small chocolates.
A now full small food fight happening in the living room as teammates were getting hit with snacks and throwing back whatever was thrown. Katie had left her spot on the couch and hurdled towards you, jumping on you as she battled away your swinging arms.
"Let me go Mccabe!" you screamed laughing as she placed you in a similar headlock from the morning.
Leah just let everything happen, not caring how her once perfectly clean living room was now a mess with pieces of candy thrown everywhere, or how you and Katie fought on her couch. For the first time today, Leah saw and heard you laugh and after finding the sad news, it was all she wanted when she planned the movie night, to see you have some fun and laugh.

Loyalty and Love // Leah Williamson
Tumblr media
warnings: dead family member
Leah was a gooner through and through, never been seen in a different club jersey than the arsenals as she was Arsenals biggest fan.
She went through all the youth team stages until she reached the senior team. Her body was full of loyalty to the club while your career path was very different - something Leah did not like about you.
Your career started at your hometown club near Bavaria, Germany, until FC Bayern München became aware of you. You were the only girl in the league and still scored the most goals. So to be fair, your actual club career started at the FC Bayern academy. You started there at the age of 10 and played there until the age of 16.
At 16 years old, you said good bye to Germany and played for Ajax in the Netherlands. You played two years for them and enjoyed every second with the Ajax family, yet after those two years, you transferred to AS Roma. You had many transfer offers, inside the league and outside of it but even though, you had transferred a few times already, you had one rule: never play in the same league with a different club. Roma sent you on loan to Olympique Lyon where you won the champions league and the league, each time as a key player of the team. OL offered you a real contract which you gladly signed - winning the treble. After three years in France, where you had learned a lot technical stuff but also had developed further as a person, it was time for a new challenge. A new club and country.
Spain was calling, FC Barcelona to be exact. After a teary good bye, you left for good - it was time to shine at Barcelona.
Your talent was magical, you could score from every angle, no matter the position and the fans loved you.
You had been nominated for numerous awards, won many of them yet still you were the kindest person. You always made time for the fans, signed jerseys, took photos and chatted with them. You were down-to-earth.
Of course you had haters, people not liking your volatility but you didn‘t care. You had a mission and would continue it, no matter if you had no fan at all or a the whole woso community behind you. So while your job was to score goals, you only had one goal in mind.
You loved the Spanish weather, you loved the City, you loved the girls. They made Barcelona your home and more than that. Playing alongside Alexia, Mapi, CGH, Aitana and literally every one on the squad was amazing. It was the way they played and the mentality they had that fascinated you.
The first season at Barcelona was the season you won the Ballon D‘or, while still being so young. The combination of the playing style that you learned in the individual clubs in each country also made you Fifas the best. You were the best.
On the pitch, every opponent was afraid of you while off pitch they adored you. It broke your heart to leave Barcelona, the City you adored. So why did you leave? It was the thing you had to do. The thing you promised yourself at the age of 16 when you left Bayern - Arsenal would be your last stop ever. The thing you promised someone. Your retirement club, you would stay there forever - as long as they offered you a contract.
-
While everybody had greeted you with open arms at your arrival, the skipper kept her distance, only talking to you when necessary. Leah was skeptical to say at least, some things bothered her about you. She didn‘t appreciate your transfers nor respected them. Every country? Really? Why Arsenal? Her childhood club? How long did you want to play here before you stab the team in the back? When another country became interesting? Maybe the US? Sweden?
And then the tape. The strip of tape on your shoulder, it didn‘t make any sense to her. It didn‘t seem like you had problems with your shoulder nor an injury in the last few years (which she had obviously checked) so why the tape? She - well actually everyone, never saw you without. When it slowly started to look rancid, the next second it looked like new again. When you changed, even in the shower after playing it was always there. Were you hiding something?
Leah didn‘t like you, it was clear as the day but (even if she would never admit it out loud) you were a fantastic footballer. Your feet could do magic with the ball, from assisting to scoring to defending, everything you did on the pitch was faboulous. That, she had to appreciate, maybe you would help Arsenal to win the league.
This season. who knows how long you‘ll stay.
-
After your first month with the gunners, you knew for sure, your heart and brain realized it for the first time: after years, you had finally fulfilled your promise.
You felt peace, nothing more. Maybe you could forgive yourself someday.
-
Over time, Leah‘s dislike towards you turned into much more - hate. When you were near the blonde, she would glare at you or leave the room,
the moments you tried to talk to her, to get to know her, she ignored you and
she would rudely comment on the things you said.
After months of trying, you just stopped. If she doesn‘t want to talk to you that‘s okay. You didn’t have to be friends - colleagues, that‘s it.
-
"When I visited Greece-" you started to tell Lia about the beauty of the country when her work wife cut you off, "wow, Y/L/N, a country you didn‘t play in, really respectable" Leah spat, rolling her eyes. Lia smacked the back of her head, her behavior unbelievable.
It was no secret that the defender felt some sort of dislike towards you - noticeable for your team mates and especially for the swiss as she knew Leah like the back of her hand.
"Ignore her" the midfielder stated, asking you to continue your story.
"It‘s fine" not in the mood to tell the end of your Greece-story, you left the two LW‘s joining Vic as she juggled with the ball.
"You really need to stop that" the swiss international grumbled, "she‘s actually really nice"
"And her loyalty sucks! I won’t let her ruin this club"
The brunette watched the blonde march away, arms crossed.
-
Leah‘s behavior continued like that, rude comments sent your way, cut off mid sentence and ignorance accompanied you every single day. But your mindset was clear: you couldn’t be bothered by her.
You understood that Leah was skeptical of you, you‘re new and played for several clubs but on the pitch you played your absolute best each game. You deserved at least some respect.
-
"Where‘s hopper?" Leah asked - you’re never late. Her new nickname for you showed her antipathy towards you yet hiding it well enough, so other people outside of the team wouldn’t get suspicious.
"She‘s on her way home for a few days" Lia replied calmly, not wanting the blonde to explode.
You had texted Lia about your plans earlier this morning - she was your friend after all. Just because she was great friends with Leah, didn‘t mean you couldn’t be friends with her too. Like I said, you were friends with the whole team, just not with Leah. Besides you enjoyed talking to Wally as it was in your mother tongue, conversation flowing with an ease.
"What the fuck?! She does know we‘re playing a derby this weekend!" The England captain growled, marching out of the changing room, already calling you. Who do you think you were?
Her calls went straight to voicemail which only angered and frustrated her more. why were you so infuriating?
The defender was quick to approach to Jonas - what was the thinking letting you leave? Did he even know about this?
"Why did you let her leave?!" the woman asked loudly and harshly. You made her blood boil. "Is she playing on Saturday? You should kick her out of the squad! This behavior is unacceptable" she scolded.
Even though Leah knew the team would need you, she was too caught up in her anger.
"Who are you talking about?" the coach asked rather confused. Was he missing something?
"Your new signing" she huffed out frustrated, how can he be this clueless?
"She‘s not here. Apparently at home in Germany, did you know about this?"
"Oh! Yes, I know about this. It‘s in her contract"
"What do you mean? In her contract?"
"She‘s allowed to leave, no matter what day, at-" he looked at his watch, checking the date, "at the 20th of March for three days. One day to get there, one day to stay, one day to leave" he explained.
"Why?"
"I can’t tell you that"
-
On game day, you arrived on time at the stadium, your favourite defender already impatiently waiting for you in the locker room. When you entered the room, she was about to stomp over, telling you how your behavior was unacceptable and jeopardizing the team but something told her not to. Your shoulders were sagged, your eyes red and puffy as you had bags under them ad well - it looked like you had been crying for awhile and not sleeping either. You looked small and sad, but not the sadness-sad, somehow it looked like grieving-sad or guilty-sad. Leah didn't know if her analysis was correct, after all, she didn't know you as you weren’t friends - not even close to that - and to the others it seemed like you were your usual self.
As you walked past her to get to your cubby, she grabbed your hand. "Are you okay?" she asked, genuinely concerned about your well-being. Her stone cold persona towards you was gone for the moment, eyes scanning your face - what was wrong? How can she help you?
"I‘m fine, Leah"
Her hand had a firm grip on yours yet it was so gentle and soft - it was almost like you could feel her 'caring' about you.
But you knew, she only cared about the team and not about you.
"Thank you for asking, though" you smiled a bit, before leaving her touch and walking over to your cubby.
You didn't want to be rude to her because it seemed like she was dead serious about her question. Besides, if you wanted to have at least a somewhat normal work-relationship with her, this might was a step in the right direction.
However, you had to admit, the feeling of her holding your hand was quite nice and made you hope for eventually being friends one day.
-
The game started with you on the bench as agreed with Jonas. It was his decision if he wanted to put you in or not and you respected either way. You were thankful enough that he had shown so much understanding about your family situation, so you wouldn’t be the one to complain about not playing.
Next to you on the bench sat the one and only Leah Williamson, who watched the game very carefully, attentively and critically - the same as you did. In your heads, the two of you analyzed what happened on the field, every bad pass, every unused space or loss of the ball was noted while you tried to come up with solutions. While Leah stated her analysis to everyone at half time, you talked to the relevant person what they should pay particular attention to - most opponents had the same playing style, even if the tactics were changed. Overall, it wasn't the played game in general that mattered, but rather the individual players on the field. If you watched them long enough, it wasn't too difficult to outplay them and their team - Leah and you knew that.
Both of you got subbed on in the 74th minute, the defender doing her job brilliantly while you ran down the wing. The game seemed like it had shifted as soon as the two of you took in your positions. Chances were created, space was used, passed connected perfectly - in all honestly, Tottenham didn‘t have any control over the match anymore, thanks to Leah and your critical eyes.
The score changed when Leah sent a ball flying towards you. With one quick motion, you dribbled around the defender, firing a shot on goal - Tottenhams goalkeeper stood no chance.
That evening a special chemistry was born between your favourite defender and her favourite hopper.
-
If you were hoping that the 'how are you' question meant something, you were wrong.
Her arrogant attitude got worse, as did her mean behavior towards you. You thought that maybe, just maybe, the link up on the pitch earned you enough respect that she at least refrains from commenting. Yet she questioned everything you did and not only that: you were regularly asked whether you would leave the club at the end of the season or whether you would leave one season after that. At this point you felt helpless, you didn’t know what her problem was with you - she seemed like a nice person towards everyone else.
"Come on, Leah, leave me alone" you grumbled as she stood next to you in the locker room with her arms crossed. Especially today she was getting on your last nerve. You hadn‘t slept well the last few days and the bickering was getting more and more exhausting.
"You weren‘t concentrated today" she stated, "this isn‘t acceptable at Arsenal."
"Leah-" Wally tried to stop her but there was no chance. She wouldn’t hold back.
"No, she has to know. She‘s played at enough clubs to know that she has to give 100%!"
"As if you haven‘t had a bad day before"
"I can keep things professional"
"No you can‘t! If you could, you would leave me the fuck alone. You are all judgy but never played somewhere else than Arsenal, so get a fucking grip. At least I have the experience of other leagues"
The whole changing room gasped, Katie smirking, happy that you stood your ground. Leah’s behavior was ridiculous. And this time she took it too far.
On an emotional level, your week had been absolutely shitty.
It‘s like a haunted house, only you‘re the ghost.
On an physical level, you were exhausted.
So, neither emotionally nor physically you could deal with her at the moment.
"Watch your mouth-" the defender started before you cut her off.
"No, you will watch yours" your pointer finger angrily poked her chest, "Listen to me closely, I will not repeat myself. You, Leah Williamson, will stay away from me. I‘m not your friend, I’m not your mate, I’m your colleague, so treat me with damn respect" with that you grabbed your stuff and left.
Leah was breathing heavily, your anger awfully attractive.
"Why are you being like this?" McCabe asked, the girls in the room waiting for an answer. This couldn’t be just because you played for several clubs and she was questioning your loyalty - there had to be more.
"Because she‘s hiding something! I won‘t let her ruin this club" she growled, sitting down in her cubby.
"What should she be hiding?" Steph questioned, you seemed like an honest and truthful person.
"She literally left for three days out of nowhere!"
"She did that when we played at Barca together too" Laia added. She had never thought about that before. But Leah was right, it was unusual to not show up at training when you weren‘t injured or sick, especially since it was in the middle of the season.
"See!"
"I still don’t see the problem" Steph shrugged her shoulders, "she‘s a lovely person and you would know that if you gave her the chance to show it" with that the Australian left. You were such a lovely girl, at least someone had to defend you. Partly, Steph could understand where Leah was coming from - that girl was bleeding Arsenal red.
After Steph had left, the other girls started to leave too, Leah and Kim the only ones left.
Leah was sorting through her bag, checking if she had everything she needed when Kim broke the silence, "Her brother died when she was 16. The 21st of March is the day of his death"
Leah stopped her movements, "what?" she turned around, the colour leaving her face.
"That’s all I know"
Kim grabbed her bag, walking past the blonde, about to leave, "I’m disappointed in you, Leah. We're a family here, and you didn't show her that. Have you ever thought about why she played in every league? You’re criticizing but not questioning. You doubt her loyalty, but she hasn't transferred within the league - doesn't that show her respect for the club she‘s played at?"
"Kim-"
"Have a nice evening"
Alone in the changing room, Leah tried to process the information, now it made sense that you were at home for a few days. It was his anniversary.
She had been a complete ass to you without knowing your story - she still didn't. However, for the first time she felt something like interest. She wanted to get to know you. She wanted to know your story. But most of all she wanted to apologize. You seemed like a sweet girl.
Of course, most of her questions were still unanswered: the tape? Why did you transfer so much? You‘re young.. but for the first time she didn't care. She fucked up and was determined to start over.
I‘m disappointed in you, Leah.
-
At home, the defender sat on her couch, eating some food while the tv was showing her favourite show. This wasn’t right. She couldn’t wait till tomorrow. She had to talk to. Now.
Leaving her food on the table, the blonde called Lia, asking where you lived. The Swiss was hesitant to tell her as she wanted to protect you but Leah sounded genuinely upset about her own behavior.
"Please.. I- I‘m in the wrong here, I know that now. I don‘t want her to go to bed angry or feeling like she‘s not a part of the Arsenal family."
After that, the Swiss texted your address, the England captain already on her way.
When she arrived at her destination, she felt nervous. She rang the bell, hoping you wouldn’t open. She wasn‘t prepared at all - she didn’t know what to say or how to make things up with you.
In that moment, she realized maybe it was a hasty decision to just show up in front of your door and apologize. It wouldn’t be deserved to accept the apology straightaway.
"Leah?" you said surprised.
"Hopper" it was almost inaudible as you had knocked the air out of her lungs. You looked breathtaking. No, it wasn‘t something fancy - you wore an oversized shirt and some shorts while your hair was down but you looked naturally beautiful.
"What are you doing here? I told you to leave me alone"
"I- um.. I came to apologize?"
"Are you asking me that?"
"I came to apologize"
"Go home, Leah-"
"Give me a chance-"
"No. Look, I don’t know why you are here or what your problem is but I don‘t want to play your sick games" you stepped back, closing the door, leaving the defender dumbfounded in front of your home.
"I know about you brother!" she called, helpless on what do to. But as soon as the word 'brother' left her mouth, she regretted it.
The door was thrown open, "what did you just say?!" you were angrier than ever. Your family had always been a sensitive subject.
"I know about your brother" the audacity Leah had to repeat her words was unbelievable.
She squeezed herself inside, looking around.
"I swear to god, if you don‘t leave-"
"I‘m really sorry" she turned around, you didn‘t know if she was talking about your brother or how she had treated you and neither did she. Either way, it made you furios, you were balling your hands into fists, trying to stay calm.
"Is that him?" she asked, walking to the picture frame on your shelf, "what‘s his name?"
It was a picture of the two of you as kids, both of you wearing Germany jerseys as you grinned in the camera - one of your favourite pictures.
And that made you explode. How dare she come to your home, implying to apologize which she wasn‘t and then act nosy.
You marched over, grabbing her at the collar of her shirt and pushing her against the wall, "leave me alone" you weren’t shouting but you voice was loud, clear and firm, almost intimidating.
Her breath hitched, "I can‘t" you were so close to her. She could see all tiny freckles, those which only appeared when you were in the sun. She was intrigued by you. Her eyes darted around your features, the wrinkle between your brows slowly disappearing.
You didn‘t know what came over you, but in less than a second, you smashed your lips against hers. Teeth were clashing, all anger and frustration purred in, hands gripping and pulling as both of your minds went blank. Neither of you could think about anything else but each other.
-
The day she stood in front of your apartment, wasn’t brought up again yet you had to admit something shifted in your dynamic that night.
The chemistry you had on the pitch only grew, Leah assisted while you scored countless of goals.
Her behavior wasn‘t as bad as before anymore, she started to greet you, say good bye or other acts of kindness yet every once in a while a snarky comments left her mouth.
After Arsenal had won the conti cup against Chelsea, the celebrations were on the rise when you entered the club. You saw some girls dancing around, some lingering at the bar and others sitting at the table.
You joined the girls at the table, sitting down next to Stina. Lost in conversation with the Swede you didn‘t notice a blonde defender standing right behind you with her arms crossed and a pout on her face, "you‘re sitting on my seat, hopper" she grumbled, the pout increasing.
"Sit somewhere else" you replied, not looking up as you continued your conversation which had been rudely cut off by the English woman.
"There is no seat left"
This time you turned around, looking up from your seat as the defender glared at you.
It was the first time, you had seen her tonight and she looked absolutely gorgeous with the outfit she was wearing.
"I think you‘re old enough to deal with that, aren‘t you?" you smiled sarcastically at her, once again turning to Stina.
"I am" she stated, a smug smile plastered on her face. With the alcohol in her system, she simply sat on your lap, one arm going around your shoulders while she started her own conversation. Weirdly confused but somehow not minding, you let her be, your arms going around her waist to support her. No one said anything about, most of them not realizing what was happening or simply not caring - as long as you weren‘t fighting everything seemed fine.
The night continued like that, chatting, dancing and enjoying the time.
"Could you let me get up, please? I‘d like to have another drink" you asked the defender who immediately got up, "can you bring one for me too?"
"Sure"
She smiled shyly before you left, sitting back down, Lia looking at her with a 'tell me right now what‘s going on' expression.
"What?"
"Seriously? What‘s going on between the two of you?" the Swiss asked, Leah‘s eyes already back on you as you stood at the bar, ordering.
"Nothing"
The defender’s brows furrowed when a man approached you, standing way too close to you, her jaw clenching.
She saw you taking a step to the side, intending to signal the man that you were not interested. In responds, he only stepped closer.
Angrily, the blonde stood up, marching over, "is everything alright here?" her hands settled on your waist, pulling you protectively towards her.
"Everything‘s alright, mate" the man slurred, stepping forward, "I’m just getting to know your friend."
Leah was quick to step in front of you, her hand holding onto you to know you‘re safe, "leave my girlfriend alone or I will break your nose" she threatened.
The man held his hands in surrender before he left.
In an instant, she turned around, cupping your cheeks, checking if you were alright.
"I‘m okay" you stated. What just happened? Girlfriend? Weird man? Break his nose? Girlfriend?
"Here‘s your drink"
She took her drink, resting her hand on the small of your back, guiding you back to the table.
What‘s just happened?
Lia was the only one left at the table while the others had joined the dancers. You were about to sit down on an empty chair when the blonde pulled you on her lap - roles reversed.
Raising an brow, "There are enough empty seats this time"
"I don’t care, hopper"
"I‘ll join the rest on the dancing floor" Wally said, winking at Leah whose cheeks turned red.
"You‘re so beautiful, you know" the England captain said, cheeks turning a deeper shade of red.
"How many drinks did you have?" you giggled, your fingers absentmindedly tracing patterns along the back of neck. "Not enough to punch that guy" she growled.
You laughed, "you‘re cute when you‘re jealous" not so sober yourself.
She squeezed your hips in responds, resting her head on your shoulder.
Both of you enjoyed the silence that came over you, also enjoying the closeness you shared in that moment. Leah wasn‘t forgiven and she knew that yet she couldn’t stay away from you. Somehow you were addicting.
For once, it was nice not to argue with the blonde but to enjoy her company. She was cute, you couldn’t lie.
"I‘m very sorry for my behavior" she whispered, "I’d like to start over again" you turned towards her, eyes locking, "I’m not asking for your forgiveness, just for a chance to show you that I’m not an awful person. You are a part of the Arsenal family and I’m sorry for treating you otherwise"
You let her words sink in. She was right, she couldn’t ask for your forgiveness because too much had happened already but starting over seemed like an opportunity for the both of you.
"I’m Y/N"
-
The next weeks, Leah was the sweetest person to you. Each morning, she greeted you with the widest smile and when she left the facility, she always made sure to tell you good bye. She treated you with respect and listened to everything you had to say. She was amazed by the stuff you had to say. She couldn’t care less if it was something as simple as your favourite colour or an opinion on something. Everything you said was important to her.
Soon the small talks turned into longer conversations until they were endless.
In matches, when somebody fouled you Leah was the first to stick up for you, arguing with the opponent before she argued with the ref (of course after she had made sure you were okay.)
Slowly but surely, Leah earned your trust and appreciation.
She wasn‘t just anybody - she was Leah Williamson and once she had set her mind, you couldn’t stop her from doing it.
She wasn‘t the Leah you had met at your arrival - she changed for good. She was much more. She was funny, loving and caring, attentive and respectful - she was actually an amazing woman and your friend.
-
Standing in the kitchen of Leah’s apartment, you made dinner for the both of you while she sat on the counter watching you and eating the ingredients.
The atmosphere was tranquil and relaxed as music filled the background.
Peace.
"His name‘s Sebastian" you turned around, grabbing another ingredient out of the fridge while you avoided Leah‘s eyes, painful stings in your heart. You wouldn‘t cry, not now. "He‘s three years older than me" you inhaled sharply, trying to compose yourself as you continued to cook. "You would have loved him, he was a big Arsenal fan, watched every match" you chuckled, "but was the worst player of all time. He never really was a sports guy anyway, he was rather the calm type of person. He loved to cook - that‘s actually one of his favourite recipes" you nodded your head towards the food splayed out on the counter.
The dish you were making had brought you so much comfort after his death. It felt familiar. Sometimes, you imagined him standing in the kitchen, so concentrated that his brows would furrow as he cut the vegetables or when he seasoned - never a drop too much. He was very particular when it came to cooking, but rightly so, because when he did it, it always tasted absolutely perfect.
"He used to be my best friend"
Your heart broke into pieces saying it out loud. He wasn‘t just anybody - he was your brother, the only man you ever loved and him more than anyone.
The two of you had a special bond, you basically owed him your entire career. Because it was him who kicked the ball around with you for hours,
because it was him who drove with you to training when your parents had to work,
because it was him who always watched your matches,
because it was him who always believed in you, even when you were on the verge of giving up.
He was your biggest supporter, the person who believed you could be the best footballer in the world one day and the one person who made sure that you had a life outside of football.
And even though you would have never shared your charger with him, you would have given him your lungs, so he could breathe.
"What happened to him?" Leah asked, her voice gentle, testing the waters if it was okay to ask or too much.
"When-" you closed your eyes, holding back the tears that were about to fall, "I was at a birthday party. At some point during the night I asked him to pick me up because I wasn't feeling well. He did it without hesitation. On the way home we- we got hit by a car and crashed into a tree. Both of us were conscious but he was coughing and bleeding very badly. It looked very bad. I prayed to every god I knew that they should take me and not him- they didn‘t listen" tears were streaming down your face as you aggressively cut the remaining vegetables, "his last words were 'make me proud' and i remember shouting at him but it was too late. I told him I loved him- he took his last breath with a smile on his face"
Silence filled the room, small sniffles the only thing being heard. You grabbed a tissue, blowing your nose and another one to dry your tears, "I am- was blaming myself for what happened, so I left home as soon as I could"
Leah was listening carefully, her heart aching seeing you in pain and the pain you had been through.
"I always complained about others leagues, because they seemed so easy and everything" you chuckled at the memory, "and he always was like 'you can‘t complain if you haven‘t played there'" mocking him, the most german accent in your voice, "so that’s what I did. I have played in several leagues but I always knew Arsenal would be my last stop"
Everything made sense now, Leah‘s heart broke even more, realizing what an absolute ass she was while you only had one goal in mind - to make him proud.
It was never your plan to ruin Arsenal, you wanted to stay there to fulfill the promise you had made in the night that changed your life.
-
Leah saw you with different eyes now, her heart was beating for you in more than one way. She admired you - for the way you play, how strong you are and how hard life had been for you yet still smiling throughout it.
She had to protect the ray of sunshine and the feisty beast you could be. You weren‘t just anybody - you were Y/N Y/L/N, the best footballer in the world.
The defender was a 100% sure, your brother would be more than proud of you and the woman you became.
But she also knew what she had to do. You deserved an apology, even more than that - you deserved every good thing in the world. And if she could she would take all your pain away.
-
It was in the middle of the night, all lights turned off besides in the kitchen of the blonde defender. She sat at the kitchen table, one sheet of paper and a fountain pen in front of her.
Dear Sebastian,
I’m Leah, Leah Williamson.
I've been playing for Arsenal my whole life. I've had my best and worst moments at the club. All of my best moments had to do with my team, my friends, my family, whereas my worst moments had something to do with my performance or injuries. Unfortunately, because of my loyalty and love for the club, I was blinded from seeing the important things - your sister. I never understood why she had transferred so often - it seemed like she was volatile and didn't understand loyalty and love. But she does - she does that more than anyone else.
Her loyalty was only ever dedicated to you.
She is an incredible person and I’m so sorry for the way i treated her at her arrival (I will tell her that, this time when I’m fully sober and explain everything). But I’m writing you to tell you that I like your sister, more than I ever thought I would. To be honest, that‘s the first time I’m admitting it to someone, I didn‘t even admit it fully to myself - but I do. I like her. And I guess, this is me asking for your blessing.
A blessing that I can treat her right if she lets me,
a blessing that I can always support her,
a blessing for one chance with her.
I know, there is much too make up for and my behavior will never be excused - no apology could be strong enough for what I have done - but I want you to know that I will regret it till the rest of my life.
So while you may be her biggest fan from paradise, I want to be her biggest fan from earth.
I promise to do everything in my power to be the best person she deserves.
Sincerely,
Leah Williamson
With a lighter in her pocket and the letter in her hand, she went outside on the balcony. The night was chill and quiet, the perfect atmosphere as the moon shone brightly. Her nerves were calming down and her mind seemed to find rest as she looked up in the sky, "one chance" she whispered, burning the letter. She watched the ink and paper slowly disappear, the smoke rising into the night sky. She knew it was unrealistic to expect any sign of positive responds but was it wrong to hope? When the letter was fully burned, she waited till the smoke was completely gone before she went back inside, turning off the kitchen light and making her way to bed.
When the blonde woke up the next day, she made her way to kitchen immediately, needing her morning tea. She frowned and froze.
"Hello?" she called.
No response.
She had turned off the light last night, didn‘t she?
She sure did!
Was this her sign? Was this the sign that the letter arrived?
It was his blessing.
-
"Hey" the blonde greeted you with a wide smile when you entered the changing room.
Matching her smile, "good morning" you walked to your cubby.
"What are you doing tonight?" she followed you, the smile not leaving her features. Someone woke up in a good mood, you thought.
"Going home, eating, then sleeping" you replied.
"Do you want to watch the Arsenals men game tonight? With me?"
"Are you nervous?" you asked, the defender fidgeting with her fingers as her cheeks were slowly turning red, "I’d love to watch the match with you."
And if you thought her smile couldn’t have gotten wider, you were wrong - the smile she sent you was from ear to ear.
"Perfect" with excitement in her body, she pressed a peck to your cheek before she happily skipped out of the room, the other girls watching the interaction that just happened closely.
"Are you blushing?" Katie laughed loudly as you embarrassingly turned to your bag, in fact blushing.
-
Half an hour before kick-off you rang Leah‘s doorbell, takeout in your hands. You weren‘t in the mood for cooking and Leah‘s cooking skill were eh, e for effort?, also you had been craving Chinese all day long, so that‘s what you got.
"I brought food with me!" you grinned, pushing yourself inside as soon as the blonde had opened the door.
"What did I do to deserve this?" she asked chuckling at your eagerness as you walked in her kitchen to get some plates and cutlery.
Cheekily, you replied "Nothing, I was just hungry"
Serving the food on the plates, you sat down at the table with Leah, comfortable silence filling the air while the two of you ate dinner.
Something was bothering Leah though, you could tell. Every now and then it seemed like she wanted to say something yet she closed her mouth quickly after.
"I‘m sorry for my behavior" she mumbled, "when you arrived at Arsenal, I mean" you looked up from your plate, meeting her eyes for a brief second, "I was skeptical about your loyalty and it got out of hand" carefully she laid her hand on yours, hoping you wouldn’t pull away.
You didn‘t - you wanted to hear what she had to say.
"I‘m really sorry and I know we started over, but I need you to know how sorry I am, this time without any drink in my system. You’re the most loyal person I know, I just didn‘t notice it"
"Leah" you said gently, "look at me, please"
The defender raised her head, looking at you with unsure eyes, rapidly tapping her foot under the table.
"Thank you for telling me. I guess I would have been skeptical too if I had played for the gunners my whole life" you told her, "I’m not excusing your behavior because it wasn‘t nice or appropriate but I don‘t have any bad blood against you either. In fact, I enjoy your company" you pulled her hand from hers, only to put it against her side profile, softly caressing the apple of her cheek.
Subconsciously, she leaned into your touch, "I‘m very sorry"
"I know"
The unspoken 'why' barrier was finally removed.
-
"Arsenal will win, I can feel it!" the defender stated, flopping down on the couch. With a bowl of popcorn in your hand, you sat down next to her, somehow your thighs touching even though the couch was big enough. "Liverpool is a tough opponent"
"Oh stop it! None of that"
Making herself comfortable on the couch, she turned on the tv, ready to see Arsenal win.
Getting comfortable yourself, you pulled your legs on the couch, leaning towards the armrest on the other side which earned you a glare, "what do think you‘re doing?"
"Oh, sorry" in an instant your feet were on the ground.
"No, what are you doing over there? Come here" she nodded to the space between her legs, signaling you to cuddle her.
With red cheeks and a racing heart, you crawled over, settling between her legs as your body melted into hers, head resting on her chest while her arms wrapped around you.
Leah was sure you could hear her racing heart and even though she desperately tried to concentrate on the match, she just couldn’t. With you in her arms, she wouldn’t ever want to think about anything else. You looked so precious in her arms, eyes fully focused on the tv.
"You are so beautiful" she admired, looking at you with heart eyes.
"What?"
You prompted yourself up, looking at the blonde who was smiling dazedly at you, "you are just so gorgeous" her fingers started to play with your hair as she got lost in your eyes, "let me take you on a date"
It was crazy how the mood had changed - from apologies at dinner to cuddling on the couch to asking you out.
"Okay" you smiled shyly, cheeks crimson red as your skin tingled.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah"
You stared at each other, eyes shining with adoration and passion, both of you slowly leaning in.
When your lips met, the world seemed to stop spinning, fireworks exploding as you melted into each other and Arsenal getting themselves on the scoreboard. She kissed you so gentle and tender - the complete opposite of the kiss you had shared before.
Everything was perfect.
-
After many many dates, the blonde asked you to be her girlfriend. None of your friends surprised at this point - you had always been obsessed with each other.
The two of you had been caught kissing several times, not even trying to hide it. Leah loved kissing you but she also loved physical touch in general, always holding your hand, having her arm around your midsection or her hand on your thigh while driving. She couldn’t get enough of you.
-
"Come to bed" the blonde whined, waiting for you to join her under the covers. Weirdly, neither of you could sleep good at night without being in each others embrace, so it became your routine - either Leah would sleep at your home or the other way around - this night you were at Leah‘s, and obviously you had stolen a shirt from her wardrobe as your pajamas - which she liked very much. You looked so cute in her clothes.
When you joined her, her arms were immediately wrapped around your body as she pulled you close, pressing a good night kiss on your temple.
The next morning, you woke up with hair in your face and a head resting on your chest, the blonde defender still peacefully asleep. You stayed like that for awhile, your hand gently rubbing her back before you slipped out of bed, ready to make some breakfast and your much needed coffee.
Since it was the weekend and your day off, you decided to surprise the England captain with some self made pancakes - you knew she loved them.
While Leah woke up due the feeling of your absence which turned out to be correct, something she didn‘t like. Sleeping without you was awful already but waking up without you? absolutely horrible.
Grumpily, she made her way out of the bedroom, the smell of pancakes hitting her nostrils, lightening her mood in an instant. Following the smell, she found you in the kitchen, only wearing a sports bra and some of her old Arsenal shorts - you looked cute - booping your head to the non existing music, no doubt that you were humming some song. Silently, the defender walked up behind you, her arms smacking around your stomach, "gosh, you scared me!"
"Sorry, baby" apologetic, she pressed multiple kisses on the side of your neck, fingers tracing along your sides.
You inhaled sharply when she traced along the stripe of tape on your shoulder, she had never brought it up before, respecting whatever story was behind it.
"You- you can take it off" you whispered breathlessly, anxiety and fear creeping through your body.
"Are you sure?" her lips kissed the other side of your shoulder, trying to calm you down and ease your mind.
"Yes, just- be careful, please"
and that’s exactly what she was. All of her moves were gentle and careful - you weren’t afraid that it would hurt pulling the tape off but the story behind it.
After the tape was ripped off a big scar was displayed on your shoulder, "it‘s from the car crash" you said, pain shooting through the healed wound. It wasn‘t an injury pain rather the type of phantom pain - suddenly you were back in the car.
"It‘s a constant reminder of what had happened - something that‘s my fault" you admitted, fighting the tears, "I started to cover it up but make up didn‘t work, so the physio at Ajax taped it. And since that day, I do it all the time"
Leah‘s heart broke at the vulnerability she was seeing, your posture seemingly weak and exposed.
"Is this okay?" Her pointer finger traced over the scar..
"Yeah"
..not in a way that made you uncomfortable but in a way that made you feel like you didn’t have to be ashamed of it.
"What about this?" for a moment you didn‘t feel her touch at all before she pressed featherlight kisses over your scar.
"yes"
Tears were streaming down your face, all of your walls broken down now, Leah made you feel perfect the way you are - because you are.
"I‘m proud of you"
Everything came crashing down, a sob escaped your throat and within a second, you were in your girlfriends arms, crying into her shoulder. The tears that you had not allowed to shed in previous years, fell all at once now.
The England captain hugged you through it all, letting you cry as long as you needed - she wouldn‘t go anywhere.
She had promised your brother to do everything in her power to be the best person you deserve and that‘s what she did, does and will do.
She kept her promise and you did too.
Arsenal was always half but never whole, Leah‘s begun to feel like home.

Accidental | Leah Williamson x Chelsea!Reader
Summary: Where you accidentally injure your girlfriend.
Woso masterlist | Words: 2.1k
-----
A knock on your front door pulls you out of your focus on getting ready, you head to the door and open it. “Hi Lia, come in!” She enters your home and greets you with a hug. “I’ll be right back.” Back in your bedroom, you grab your training kit, and start changing. From the bathroom your girlfriend calls out for you, “Baby, I forgot to bring my clothes, can you please grab them for me?” You walk to her overnight bag, and pull out the Arsenal kit she packed.
In the bathroom Leah is waiting for you in a towel. “Here you go, my love. Though, I do think it’s the wrong colour, because London will be blue tonight.” Playing for rivalry teams could have been hard on your relationship, but in your relationship it had never been a big deal, and you could joke about things like this without hurting each other’s feelings. “Ah, so you are colour blind then, because it will definitely be red.” She jokes back. You peck her lips, “I’ll head down and keep Lia company.”
The big rivalry between the teams, and between some of the players within the teams had also been the reason that the two of you kept your relationship private. Lia knew of course, as well as both your family’s, but not your other teammates or the public. You were both happy with that, and it had worked for you for the past year.
When Leah got downstairs, she greeted her best friend with a hug. “Sorry to keep you waiting, y/n was trying to get me to wear a Chelsea kit.” The smirk on Leah’s face gave her away instantly. “That would have been so much better, I should do that next time!” The three of you share a laugh, before you have to head out. “See you at the stadium my love.” You kiss your girlfriend goodbye. “Good luck out there today!” You wave to the both of them and get into your car, while Leah and Lia get into Lia’s car.
The London Derby was well underway, and Arsenal had taken a 2-1 lead. Both teams were fighting hard, which came with a number of free kicks for both teams. Every time you moved up the left flank, you were challenged by Katie McCabe, one of the Arsenal players you always had a tussle with on the field. Both of you were quite aggressive in your playing styles, so on the field it was like you were each other’s enemies. Things like this had also been taken into consideration when you and Leah had decided to keep your relationship private. Right now, your mind was fully focussed on getting past McCabe, but with a rough pull on your arm you were taken to the ground. You were frustrated with her move and wanted to get right into her face about it, but Guro anticipated you being angry, and was already standing between you and McCabe to hold you back. Katie got a yellow card, and Chelsea got a free kick from just outside of the penalty area.
Lauren got in position to take the free kick, while you positioned yourself at the near post with Leah defending you. When the referee blew the whistle Lauren showed with her hands which one of the set pieces you had practised was the one she was going to deliver. She sent the ball flying in your direction, you jumped up and tried to turn your body mid air. Before your head connected with the ball, you felt your elbow crash into something, or rather someone. Your focus was off of the goal and the ball flew far over, as your girlfriend crashed to the ground from your arm hitting her in the face. “Are you alright?” You hold out your hand to help her up. “Yeah fine.” After helping her to her feet, you both run away from the goal again, like the rest of the players, but when Leah grabs her face, your hand is instantly on her back. “Are you sure you are okay, Lee?” Without answering you she falls to her knees and hands. You wave over the medics instantly, before you’re able to crouch down with her you feel a pair of hands push you backwards. “Don’t you think you’ve done enough, y/l/n?” Your eyes meet Katie’s angry one’s looking back at you, you raise your hands and back up, right now all that mattered was Leah’s well-being and fighting with her teammate wouldn’t help. Still you watched from a distance as the medical team was assessing her with the referee standing next to them. The referee signalled to the Arsenal staff that a substitution needed to be made, next she made her way to you, and gave you a yellow card. Usually you would fight it since it was accidental, but it was your girlfriend that was walked off of the pitch by the medics, and all you could think about was the fact that you had injured her.
Your focus was completely off the game, so it was to no surprise to you that you were subbed off soon after Leah was. You jogged to the sidelines where Maika was ready to come on for you, and gave her a quick hug before stepping off yourself. After taking your coat and your bottle from the staff, and shaking hands with the coaching staff and your teammates, you headed into the tunnel instead of taking a seat on the bench.
Determined to find Leah, you made your way through the halls of Emirates Stadium. With your next turn you saw Lia sitting opposite a closed physio room, “How is she?” Lia shakes her head, “I don’t know, they’re still checking her out, I haven’t heard anything yet.” You start pacing the hallway instantly. “She walked here herself, I’m sure she is going to be okay.” It was like you didn’t even hear Lia. “Y/n, why don’t you sit down?” She said putting her hands on your shoulders. “No, I can’t.” Lia knew there was no changing your mind, so she let you be as she sat down herself again. After a couple more minutes of you pacing around the hallway another figure comes around the corner, checking on her teammate. You were so out of it that you hadn’t noticed the person coming closer until you were pushed against a wall. “Who gave you the right to be here?” It took you a moment to realise what was happening, Katie had you pushed against the wall by your shoulders. “Katie, get off of her.” Lia tried but to no avail, Katie was full of anger. “What are you doing here?” She spat in your face. You push her off you, “I am checking on Leah, what does it look like I’m doing?” A slight annoyance in your tone.
Lia tried to come between the two of you again, now that Katie wasn’t at your throat. “Katie, please calm down.” Katie shook her head. “She’s the reason Leah is in there, why are you on her side?” She didn’t wait for an answer from Lia and turned back to you. “Why don’t you go home and wait for an update on Leah when it gets posted online?” You finally had enough of Katie’s antics, and exploded. “Because she is my girlfriend, McCabe. I fucking injured my girlfriend, and you are being a piece of shit to me, which isn’t helping. So, please just shut up, I feel bad enough as it is.” Katie is taken back by your sudden outburst, and the information shared within. She looked over to Lia for confirmation, who simply nodded her way. “Well, shit.” The Irish woman said and took a step back and sat down in one of the chairs.
You slide down against the wall, the interaction with Katie having one positive result, no more pacing the hallway for you. The three of you sit in silence, waiting for an update on Leah. When the medics come out they talk to Lia, but of course you and Katie hear them as well. A concussion, you gave your girlfriend a concussion. “Can we see her?” Lia asks. “Yes, just keep the volume down and don’t turn on the light.” She talks with the medics about the next steps, but you don’t hear them anymore. The words “She has a concussion.” Play over and over again in your mind. You were the reason that she would be out of the game for a couple of matches, what if she would hate you over it?
Katie realised that you were struggling and moved your way. “I’m sorry for being an ass to you. Leah clearly means a lot to you, so I am sure that you do to her as well, and that means she is going to need you in there.” You let your eyes meet Katie’s, the anger you saw in them earlier, replaced by a softness you couldn’t place yet. She reached out her hand to help you up, “What do you say we go see her?” You let her help you up and follow Lia into the room.
Leah’s eyes open slightly when the door opens, but she closes them as soon as the slightest bit of light enters the room. Katie quickly closes the door to keep the light from the hallway out. “Who’s there?” Lia starts by saying her name, Katie follows, and you follow them, “and y/n.” You could see Leah tense upon hearing that you and Katie were both there. “Relax love, she knows.” Her shoulders untense, and you walk to her side and grab her hand. “I am so sorry for hurting you.” Leah squeezes your hand, “It’s not your fault, it was an accident.”
The three of you sit in the room with Leah until the medics let you know that she can leave. You decided that Leah was going to stay with you during her recovery. Since Leah wasn’t feeling well, you didn’t feel comfortable driving her on your own, so Lia offered to drive the both of you back to your place. Katie offered to pick up some stuff at Leah’s place, and drive Lia back to get her car. With that plan in place, you headed home. Leah leaned into your side in the backseat, her head heavy and painful.
After almost a week Leah was starting to feel better, light wasn’t bothering her as much anymore, and her headaches were less present. The first few days had been rough, her head was pounding, and she was very nauseous most of the day. Luckily her symptoms got less day by day. You didn’t have many visitors, because that would be too much for Leah, but Lia and Katie had come by to bring you supplies every now and then.
You drop your phone on the bed in frustration, not realising that Leah had woken up already. “Hey baby, what’s wrong?” Your chest felt thigh, you didn’t want her to worry about this as she had too much going on already. “Nothing love, it’s fine.” She knew you were trying to hide what was bothering you, so she grabbed your phone that was still laying open on the bed. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing, the screen was filled with your Instagram notifications. Each one of them that she read worse than the other. People were sending hate your way for hurting Leah. “I am so sorry this is happening baby.” She pulled you closer to her and hugged you tight. “Why didn’t you say anything?” You shrug, “I didn’t want to bother you. You’ve had enough going on, I didn’t want to add to it.” She kisses your forehead. “You’ve been taking great care of me, but it’s okay if you need someone to take care of you too. I am always here for you, remember?” With a nod of your head you let her know that you know.
“I have an idea, but you need to tell me if you’re okay with it, because if you aren’t that’s okay too. I am just so angry at the people sending these kinds of messages your way.” Leah told you your plan, and you let her know that you were okay for it.
----- leahwilliamsonn just posted to her story

Of course the comments didn’t stop with that, but they lessened and were overruled by the nice comments people were sending both your ways now. The reasoning might not have been ideal, but you were both happy that you didn’t have to hide your relationship from the world anymore.

Mimic
McFoord x Baby!Reader
Summary: You're definitely Katie's child
Tumblr media
Hiding the pregnancy had been difficult.
Caitlin had picked up an ankle injury around the same time as she started to show so it was easy to write it off as long-term, hunkering down in the house like some kind of hermit.
Hiding you away for a year had been even harder.
Some fans were eagle-eyed and as a result, you were never posted on any social media. You didn't even come to training. You'd never met any of the Arsenal girls in person at all even though you were approaching eighteen months.
Which was why it was so shocking for everyone involved when Katie got out of the car for a home match against Manchester City with a child on a backpack leash.
As soon as you are on your feet, you attempt to escape but Katie tugs on your leash to stop you in your tracks.
You give her a foul look in return before you're plucked into Caitlin's arms.
The crowd watching the players arrive all scream out questions as they walk inside.
"It's nice to finally meet the little one," Kim says pointedly as the two of them arrive in the locker room.
"You've seen her before," Katie replies.
"Over the phone doesn't count," Kim says," She's a little cutie. You must be proud."
Caitlin watches you from the corner of her eye as you methodically rip everything out of her cubby and throw it on the floor. "Something like that."
"She's just like me!" Katie's been waiting for ages to be able to brag about you so she's lapping up all the attention.
"She has a bit of a temper," Caitlin confesses when Katie runs off to show you to everyone else in the changing room," Definitely gets that from Katie.
"We didn't expect to see her today..."
"Babysitter cancelled. There were no other options. We'll probably just tie her leash to a post and call it a day. She'll wander around otherwise."
"She's restless?"
Caitlin winces. "Feral might be the word. I love her but...Katie calls her a gremlin sometimes."
Kim looks past Caitlin to where you're now chewing on Katie's fingers, methodically biting down on each one as she introduces you to everyone.
"Well...she's certainly Katie's..."
Caitlin laughs. "Don't I know it."
You're being surprisingly tame today, for what it's worth, even as you try to make another break for it. You're yet again pulled back by your kiddie leash and Caitlin is left to marvel over just how steady you are on your feet.
It had been hard hiding you from the fans and even harder to not fold and continue to keep you away from their teammates. That second one wasn't even planned but you'd come out a little sickly and spent a few weeks in hospital.
It was enough to cause Katie to put the entire house on lockdown for months after your birth when getting chest infections became your norm.
By the time you were healthy and fit and coming into your own personality, it was too much of a risk to bring you to practice with all of the cameras around.
Either way, it's all ruined now because Caitlin knows the videos of you walking in on your kiddie leash are all over Twitter.
The cameras are all pointed towards you as Caitlin walks out onto the bench to start the game. Katie crouches down next to you, littering kisses all over your face as you giggle.
"I'll see you in a bit, gremlin," She says," You be good for your Mummy."
You garble out a few noises that Katie repeats back to you with a soft smile.
"You know," Steph laughs," Now that she's been spotted in the wild, you don't have an excuse for Sam and her kid to meet her. I hear her Chook's getting bored of waiting."
Caitlin sighs deeply as you slam two of your blocks together to show Leah the noise they make. "I don't think the world could take it if Sam's Chook and our Gremlin met. It's too much rough play for any pair."
"I think you underestimate Sam's Chook. I heard she's been very helpful and careful since Sam hurt her knee."
"It's not Chook I'm worried about." Caitlin tilts her head towards you where you've started to amuse yourself by kicking Leah's shin, giggling every time your little foot makes contact.
You head whips around as your watch your Mam get tripped nearby, landing with a thud.
You screech loudly and go to march towards her, grumbling and frowning as you go. You're stopped by a tug on your leash and a pointed look from your Mummy.
You recognise that look and point over at where your Mam is dusting herself off. "Fell," You say to Mummy," Mam fell."
Caitlin has to suppress her laughter. You've got a curious blend of hers and Katie's accents. Sometimes you sound fully Australian like Harper when you speak but other times it's like Caitlin gave birth to a mini Katie because your inflection is exactly the same as hers.
You sound like Katie now. You look like her too, hands on your hips and face like thunder.
"Your Mam did fall," Caitlin says as she pulls you closer," But she's gotten up now. She's fine."
You don't look convinced as you throw a nasty look over at the referee who did nothing against the clear foul.
"Do you remember my friend Steph? You met her on the phone before? Can you say hi?"
"Hi!" You chirp, giving her a beaming smile that shows off the teeth you have.
It's kind of funny to reconcile this beaming, happy version of you with the one that was screeching at the ref just minutes ago.
"Hi," Steph coos," It's very nice to meet you in person."
You're still smiling as you nod, bouncing on your feet as Caitlin digs around in your backpack. You seem to know what time it is because you turn that beaming smile from Steph to your Mummy.
"Bottle?" You ask hopefully and Mummy rewards you with a bottle full of milk that you hastily shove into your mouth.
You sit down at her feet as you chug your drink. Mummy runs a soft hand through your hair as you take a break and lean into her, wiggling back until you hit her legs.
You turn to smile at her and she smiles back.
Your drink is all empty in a little bit and you focus back on the football match in front of you. You clumsily climb to your feet in outrage when the referee shows your Mam a yellow rectangle.
You don't exactly know what it is but you know it's bad and you don't like it being shown to your Mam. You screech and throw your bottle, stamping your feet.
"No!" You say loudly and the bench behind you bursts into laughter," No! No! Bad! Bad referee!"
Caitlin buries her head in her hands as she tugs firmly on her leash when you attempt to run onto the field to give the ref a piece of your mind.
"She's definitely Katie's," Steph howls through her laughter.

y/n pulled up to her usual space, Leah already bending down to pick up the sign which said 'cherry's space' on it as she pulled in. y/n laughed at the blonde who waved at her as she waved back.
"Thanks for driving me." Kyra repeats for what felt like the hundredth time to y/n.
"Of course!" y/n smiles, leaning over to peck Kyra's cheek before getting out and running over to Leah to hug the blonde. Kyra follows, gaping dumbly as she holds her bag with shaky hands.
"You okay Kyra?" Leah asks the girl with a smirk. Kyra nods, rubbing her arms in the November wind.
"Are you cold?" y/n asks worriedly before tugging her jacket off and wrapping it around the Australian.
"I'm fine." Kyra promises but a raised brow from y/n has her blushing and shutting up.
"Ayy, cherry!" An Irish voice calls out, y/n suddenly being hoisted over Katie's shoulder as she carried her inside, Kyra watches with a laugh as Leah picks up y/n's discarded bag.
Caitlin follows Katie inside, shrieking when Kyra launched herself onto her back, groaning as the twenty-one year old clung onto her with a cheeky grin.
"I've brought her!" Katie yells as she kicks open the door and places y/n down, the girls in the locker room laughing as y/n spins and sends a wave.
"Bag." Leah warns as y/n moves to her locker.
"Oh, thanks Leah!" y/n grins, kissing the blonde on the cheek as Kyra follows her to their lockers, which happened to be next to each other.
The two changed quickly, talking and giggling as they did so, the team around them sending them knowing looks as y/n finally sat on the bench waiting for Kyra.
"Here!" y/n chimes, moving Kyra's foot onto her lap and tying the laces, before tapping the other thigh.
Kyra flushes pink, switching her feet to let y/n tie the other lace and once she has removes her foot all together from her lap. Caitlin watches from the doorway a smirk on her face.
"Thanks." Kyra smiles, y/n grins kissing her cheek before running over to Katie who wraps and arm around her shoulders and tugs her outside.
"Awww, kywa got a cwush." Caitlin teases as Kyra rolls her eyes and shoves her into the lockers. "Oi!" Caitlin yells, chasing after Kyra who runs away.
Katie and y/n turn to see Kyra waiting behind the tunnel as as Caitlin comes out, shouting her name, Kyra sticks her foot out, grinning widely as she watches Caitlin sprawl on the floor.
"Enjoy your trip!" Kyra calls before Caitlin scrambles up. "Uh oh." She realises before screeching and running from her angry friend.
Kyra moved quickly, barrelling into y/n who gasped as they sprawled out along the floor. y/n groaned as Leah stormed over, her and Steph gripping Kyra under the arms and pulling her to her feet.
"Careful!" Steph chides Kyra as Katie helps y/n onto her feet, the player wincing as she presses a hand to her ribs.
"y/n I'm so sorry." Kyra says but y/n just smiles at her kindly as she reassures her that it was okay.
"No it is not, we know how easily she gets injured." Leah chides. Katie moves and picks y/n up, the girl laughing and clinging to her like a koala, running her away from Kyra who pouts.
"Come on kid." Leah sighs, pulling Kyra into a walk to join the group.
The group finally start training, going through their stretches and runs up and down the pitch, warming their bodies up to get into a solid training session.
They are told to pair up and Kyra slides next to y/n, the two sharing a grin before Caitlin and Katie appear either side of them.
"Kyra, you're with Caitlin, Cherry you're with me." Katie warns.
"Aw. Okay!" y/n shrugs, taking Katie's hand and pulling here to get a ball.
"How'd you get stuck with me?" Kyra asked Caitlin who had glared at Katie.
"We played rock, paper, scissors." Caitlin huffed and Kyra sighed, looking over at y/n one more time, but the girl was too focused on the drill she was doing with Katie.
Caitlin and Kyra usually fought like sisters, Kyra was nothing short of complete chaos and it did Caitlin's head in to the upmost. However, Caitlin watched her younger teammate watch y/n.
The way her entire body had tensed while she watched her, arms floppy in front of her like she was mimicking a T-Rex. Her eyes glued tightly to y/n.
"You really like her, huh kid?" Caitlin asks Kyra who looks over at her with a defeated sigh.
"She's like my best friend. But she's so pretty." Kyra admits softly and Caitlin sighs, wrapping an arm around her and pulling her away.
"Come on, lets go kick some balls." Caitlin says and Kyra hums.
°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。
Eventually training came to a stop for lunch, the group of footballers all piling in to the cafeteria. Kyra looked around, trying to catch a wisp of y/n's hair as she grabbed her lunch.
"Kyra!" y/n called, already sat with Beth and Viv, she gestured the girl over and Kyra bounded, almost leaping into the seat next to her.
"Hey." Kyra breathed with a smile.
"Hi." y/n smiled. "I got you some strawberries, there weren't any left after this." She adds and Kyra flushes pink once again.
"Thanks Cherry." Kyra smiles, y/n flushing at the nickname.
Beth and Viv share an exasperated look, almost in shock of how oblivious the two idiots were as the continue to talk and giggle with one another.
As they ate, y/n found her ankle hooked around Kyra's, the girl's arm wrapped around her shoulder as she ate her strawberries with the other hand.
The four on the table were discussing Beth and Viv's new puppy, happily chatting away, unaware of the amount of team-members that were snapping photos of Kyra and y/n.
y/n's head leaned onto Kyra's shoulder as she continued to talk to Beth, Kyra's sweet smell infected y/n and she couldn't help but sink closer into Kyra's side.
"Comfy?" A voice asks, and suddenly Kyra and y/n are pulled apart, Leah pushing herself between the two and wrapping an arm around both of their shoulders.
"Yeah I was." y/n pouted, Kyra however rolled her eyes and pushed her elbow into Leah's side, the blonde yelping before turning to y/n.
"Come on munchkin, let's get to the gym for strength training." Leah says to y/n who nods and the two get up as Kyra watches.
"What did I do wrong?" Kyra asks Beth and Viv who both sigh.
"Leah is just protective of Cherry, has been for years." Viv explains kindly to Kyra.
"They grew up together, from the same place, trained together, and when Cherry made her first debut 4 years ago, take a wild guess who calmed her down from her panic attack." Beth says and Kyra sighs.
"It'll be fine." Viv promises Kyra. "Don't worry..." She begins.
"Be happy." Beth sings, interrupting her as she and Kyra start singing said song, both pointing at Viv to finish the chorus for them.
"I don't like it." Viv states, before getting up and walking off, leaving Beth and Kyra to finish the chorus together.

Once the gym session had finished and everyone was showered and ready to go home, Kyra had looked across at y/n hopefully, the girl not having seen y/n much in the past few hours due to Leah keeping y/n protectively close.
"Do you wanna come round for dinner tonight, munchkin?" Leah asks y/n who was trying to pull on a jumper.
"Um." y/n says, stuck in her sweater.
Kyra giggles and leans over, pulling the jumper over the red sports bra y/n had on and the girl grinned in thanks, Kyra sending her a smile back.
"I can't tonight, sorry Lee!" y/n smiles and Leah huffs. "I promised Kyra we'd have a movie night, we've already postponed twice." She adds.
"No junk food and not too many sweets, you have a game tomorrow." Kim calls. "Early night." She adds.
"Okay Kimmy!" y/n calls before Leah sighs and kisses y/n on the forehead.
"Okay, have fun." Leah says and y/n grins, yelling out a goodbye to everyone before grabbing Kyra's wrist and tugging her out of the room, Kyra yelping in shock.
Leah watches them go with narrowed eyes, arms folded as Kim comes over and pats her on the back, sending her a pointed look which made the blonde defender huff.
"I don't like it." Leah denies.
"Kyra's a good kid, and they are cute together." Kim chides.
"Still don't like it." Leah mutters.
In the car park, y/n and Kyra were now in her car, Kyra fixing on some music as y/n slowly pulled out the two driving toward their usual coffee spot which they went to.
"Sorry to take you from Leah." Kyra said sheepishly and y/n shrugs.
"I don't mind Ky, I spend two nights with her anyway." y/n giggles. "Besides, I like spending time with you." She adds, pink heating her cheeks up.
"I like spending time with you too." Kyra says quietly, smiling softly as y/n pulls up in the parking space. The two get out heading into the coffee shop to order their drinks which are quickly given to them.
"Smile!" y/n calls, taking a photo of Kyra sat on the bench, she glares and whips out her own phone, y/n screeching as she tries to hide her face. "Stop, stop!" y/n calls, almost beggingly.
"Why?" Kyra asks. "I think you beautiful." She adds as she pockets her phone and y/n looks up at her. "Not as beautiful as me of course." Kyra hums and y/n laughs, moving over to shove her.
"Dork." y/n laughs and Kyra smiles, y/n's laugh making her feel like mush. "Come on, let's go get our snacks. I've got our chicken pasta ingredients already." She hums.

The two had started movie nights a few months ago, making them a weekly thing after Kyra joined and y/n did her best to make her welcome.
The two had seen a creamy, chicken and spinach tagliatelle meal and made it that evening, the two making it every week together there after.
The plates now sat on the side, the two having completely licked them clean, and they sat close together, oversized hoodies on as they watched Friday Night Dinner, a TV show Kyra had found a lot of humour in.
y/n moved under the blanket, pushing herself closer to Kyra and onto the girl's shoulder, Kyra let out a breath and wrapped an arm around her pulling her closer.
"You're so warm." y/n hummed, as if she was a purring cat. Kyra giggled and lent back against the sofa arm, pulling y/n with her so the two were happily cuddling on the sofa.
"I really like this." Kyra said after a moment. y/n slides up slightly, so she could see her face, trying to decipher the words.
"Me too." She tells the Australian who watches her.
"I really like you." Kyra says after another moment. "Really like you." She adds and y/n smiles shyly.
"Really?" She asks and Kyra nods. "I really like you to." y/n hums, her fingers tucking a strand of Kyra's hair behind her ear. "Really like you." She adds.
Kyra grins, her eyes shining excitedly as she suddenly races forward, her forehead slightly bumping y/n's as she kissed her. y/n gasped, not expecting it but quickly sunk into the kiss. Ignoring the head bump from Kyra's enthusiasm.
The two held their lips together, hearts both beating nervously as they did so, their hands found each other and they held on tightly, pulling each other closer.
Kyra hummed happily into the kiss, having been waiting for it the moment she met y/n, and when they finally pulled away, Kyra couldn't help but run her fingers over y/n's lips.
"Cherry lip balm." Kyra whispers, y/n giggling softly.
"Thought it was appropriate when I first bought it." She admits and Kyra smiles, before gasping.
"Leah's going to kill me." She realises.
"Maybe." A voice says and the two turn to see Leah, spare key in hand and y/n's kit bag in the other.
"Oh shit." Kyra says.
"Definitely." Leah then says and Kyra screeches before throwing y/n back onto the sofa and sprinting toward her room.
"Leah no!" y/n tries but the blonde has already run after her.
"You break her I break you!"

It’s Always Been You (Leah Williamson x McCabe!Reader)
A/n: The reader in this story is the same reader from the Sister Sister series, only in this universe, she falls for Leah instead of Alessia.
Tumblr media
You and Katie had started becoming more well known in the football world. Katie had been making a name for herself in the WSL for 4 years, while you were just about to arrive in the league. Both of you played beside each other, well, when Katie was playing as a full back. You were a monster of a centre back and just gone 19 years of age. You’d made a few appearances already in the Irish senior international team, so clubs were practically throwing contracts into your hands for the upcoming season.
You settled on Arsenal, knowing that your sister was there and you wouldn’t be alone. Although, for someone who was only 19, you were extremely independent. You probably could have went anywhere and been fine. If anything, Katie needed your help with things more than you needed hers.
You’d tried your best over the years to become the best at something in your house. With 4 siblings older than you and 4 younger than you, someone always seemed to do something to take the limelight, and you never really got a look in. It was hard to blame anyone other than yourself for just never being good enough.
“What’s got you so happy?” Beth asked Katie who was bouncing on her toes at the main door of the training grounds.
“She’s waiting on her little sister” Jill chuckled.
“Oh, Mac is coming in today?” Beth smiled
“Yeah, first day” Katie added with a nod.
“Is she a little hot headed shite like you are?” Kim laughed as Katie playfully rolled her eyes.
You were much quieter than your older sister. Yeah, you were a tough player to play against, but you kept to yourself for the most part. You weren’t that talkative, but you were an overly nice person. You always put others over yourself.
You’d rejected moves on both sides of Manchester to be here. And now, pulling up to Coloney, you were happy with your choices.
“Mac” Katie shouted, running out and hugging you as soon as you stepped out of the car. “What’s the story?” She asked.
You’d been in London a few days, getting yourself in order with the move. You had things to do like sorting yourself with a new SIM card, opening a bank account, setting up WiFi in your house, getting a car, buying and building furniture. You know, all the things a typical 19 year old wouldn't dream of doing alone, without some type of adult supervision.
Katie and Ruesha had suggested for you to move in with them, but you instantly rejected their offer. You much preferred the idea of living alone. You'd never got the chance before to live by yourself, and you had craved that independence for years. Your house had always been loud and busy, so the peace you felt of having your own space was unmatched.
“Nothin'” You shrugged.
“Don’t be shy, come on. The girls are all dying to meet ye” she grinned, reaching up and pulling you by the shoulder and in through the main door.
For someone who was only 19, you were big. Far bigger than your older sister. You done nothing other than work out and play football. You also rarely drank, due to not having that many friends to go out with.
“Jesus Christ, what do they be feeding you in Ireland?” Kim laughed.
“Are you sure you’re only 19?” Beth chimed in. You nodded at the England winger.
“Mac, this is Kim, Beth and Jill” Katie introduced them as you have them a quick nod in greeting.
“Hi, nice to meet you” Kim smiled, again another nod.
“You’re sure you’re related Katie?” Jill teased your older sister.
“Piss off Jill” Katie playfully stuck her finger up at her Dutch teammate before walking off with the three of them. “Mac, will ye come on” Katie shouted as you stumbled to catch up with them.
“When I heard another McCabe was coming in, I thought we’d never get a minute of peace again” Kim laughed.
“Ah, she’ll warm up to ye. She’s just a young one of very few words” Katie shrugged.
“Arsenal Women sign 19 year old Irish rising star Y/N McCabe. The new defender will take her place beside her older sister, Katie, as the pair try to clinch some silverware with the Gunners this season”
“A new defender has landed in the league, and strikers, beware! It’s another McCabe 🫣”
“How does Arsenal plan to become the most carded team in the league? 🟨 Easy, sign McCabe jr.”
You’d seemed to have came with a bit of a reputation of being Katie’s sister, which didn’t really bother you at first. You knew you weren’t as hot headed as Katie was on or off the pitch. You were a clean defender, and a huge softie.
But after a few days had passed you came to the realisation that nobody on the team had really stopped to get to know who you were. It seemed like all they needed to know was that you were Katie’s sister, and that’s all the media and fans wanted to know too. It made it more entertaining to think of the McCabe’s being an intimidating duo that would scare off any threats to goal.
You trained harder and got stronger, to try to prove to people you were more than just Katie’s sister. But it was pointless, it was like people’s minds were made up. To them, your name meant you were stubborn and snappy, while your exterior made them see you as intimidating. Eventually, it was easier to just let people think it. They didn’t like you for you anyway, so you may as well be the person they thought you were. So you became intimidating, in and outside of football. You littered yourself with tattoos, and you got impossibly stronger.
Now, nobody would bother you with general conversations, not like they did before you adopted your new scary physique anyway. Anytime you’d be called to do media, you’d firstly reject until they’d remind you it was in your contract. After the first few where you maybe gave them 5 words across the whole thing, they eventually realised Katie would also have to come with you, so she would do all the talking.
You liked the dynamic of just going to and from training and chilling on your own in your house. Your teammates left you to your own devices for the most part. They soon realised you were not one to chat or joke around with. Different than your sister, who was always up for a laugh. Usually Katie would be the only person who would come to talk to you, because she’d be the only one who got a response. But you’d finally became the best at something. You were the best at scaring people away from you.
Due to injuries in the squad, you were straight into the starting XI and proving to at least the management staff that you were a quality player. You were never one to get riled up on the pitch, but you certainly riled up those you played against. You’d mastered the technique of putting in the worst possible fair challenges. One’s that wouldn’t draw a foul, or get you booked. But one’s that left them rolling around like a child, shouting at the referee to do something.
You’d started to become more confident every time you stepped out onto the pitch. You were learning so much playing at such a high level against such talented footballers. You had practically cemented a place in the starting XI. But almost in the blink of an eye, everything changed.
A certain England defender who had been out due to injury since you joined, came back to training today, and of course Katie decided now, at 8:03am, was the perfect time to introduce you to her.
“Leah, this is Mac” Katie laughed as you shoved a slice of toast into your mouth.
“Oh, I heard we got another McCabe” Leah playfully rolled her eyes. How did someone who hadn’t even met you already have an opinion of you?
“Don’t be rude, say hello you eejit” Katie frowned.
“Alright?” You greeted Leah, although she barely heard you with how low you spoke.
“Leah” Kim shouted and gestured the girl over who left Katie’s side quickly.
“Alright?” Katie teased, mimicking what you’d just said to Leah. You frowned at her, it was like your signature look that made someone know to either shut up or fuck off. “We have some photoshoot thing today” Katie informed you as she sat down across from you, taking food off your tray.
“Why?” You groaned.
“People just can’t get enough of us apparently” Katie smirked. “We’re just the best siblings to ever play in the WSL” she chuckled, grabbing another piece of food off your plate and jogging off in the opposite direction that Leah had walked away in.
It was continuous media with Katie since you joined. The last photoshoot you’d done they had you in an Arsenal sleeveless vest top displaying your tattooed covered arms and Katie in just a sports bra with a pair of boxing gloves on.
You were scrolling on your phone, and munching on your food when a voice pulled your eyes back up.
“Did you see where Katie went?” Leah asked. You stuck up your hand and pointed in the direction your sister had jogged off in, with half your breakfast. Leah had just began walking before she stopped herself. “You’re not really like Katie, are you?” She smiled as you shook your head. But that was that, Leah was the first one who showed an interest in you and not you, Katie’s sister. You, y/n.
“It’s y/n, by the way” you mumbled.
“What is?” Leah asked.
“Uh, my name” you stuttered. “Just she calls me Mac” you added.
“I thought it was just a weird Irish name” Leah laughed as you gave her back a brief one, before clearing your throat.
“Would you wanna jo-”
“Have you seen Katie?” Another voice shouted as Leah spun around with a smile, knowing exactly who it was. “Oh, you found baby McCabe” Jordan laughed.
“Yeah, we were just talking” Leah nodded.
“Mac was talking? As if” Jordan chuckled as you frowned at her, and by the looks of it, scared the shit out of her. “Come on then” Jordan stuttered, as she took Leah by the hand and the two of them left.
Jordan was good friends with your older sister. You were just unaware that she had been dating Leah for a few years now. The same Leah that had sent you back to the bench upon returning from injury. But watching her play, you could see exactly why you were pushed back to the bench. She was phenomenal. Every tackle, every pass, every movement was just always correct.
You were getting the odd few minutes here and there, usually towards the end of the game. You weren’t as reckless as your older sister. You rarely got booked or gave away fouls. But people seemed to view your aggression and strength as a negative attribute.
“Fucking McCabes”
“Learn how to win the ball”
“Takes after her sister”
That’s all anybody would say when you won the ball from them, or put in a hard challenge on them. It just fuelled you more to be better, to be better than Katie. It would rile up your sister more when a comment would be made. She would be straight over to get a word, or a push in.
You raised your eyebrows when you got into the dressing room the morning of your match against Bristol. Your name displayed on the team sheet, in the starting XI. There was no injuries in the team as it stood, so you’d clearly earned this on merit.
Katie was beside you in defence, and Leah to your other side.
You hadn’t really spoken to Leah since that day in the canteen. You’d tried once or twice, but backed out at the last minute. It was bad because, your eyes always seemed to find her at training or in the canteen. You liked the way her nose scrunched when she laughed, or how her eyes lit up when she smiled.
It took you a while to figure out you were into Leah, but you did nothing about it. She was happy with Jordan, and you couldn’t even find words to talk to her.
“Congratulations” Kim smiled at you and patted your shoulder. You gave her a quick nod and a brief smile. You respected Kim a lot, she didn’t push you into conversations or tease you. She got that you were quiet, but still would try to talk to you and offer you advice.
“You in the team?” Katie smirked as you nodded. “Get the fuck in” she smacked your head hard as you scrunched your neck in pain at the whack you just received.
You headed to your cubby to put your training gear on, followed by your boots.
“You happy?” Leah asked, scooting into the seat at locker beside your one and patting your knee.
“Uh, yeah” you nodded. Your eyes were fixated on her hand which was resting on your knee.
“You sure? You don’t look to happy?” She chuckled, removing her hand to punch you into the arm, playfully.
“I’m happy” you smiled and nodded.
“Come on then” she said as she stood up and placed her hand out for you to take to help you up. “You can warm up with me”
You jogged out onto the pitch, putting your all into the warm-up, to make sure nobody had any doubts as to why you would be starting. Anything that had to be done in pairs, you and Leah were together, which left Jordan to pair with Katie.
The smiles and laughing shared by the two of you didn’t go a miss by the entire team. All of them, apart from Katie, maybe, had never seen you smile. Some of them had never heard you talk, yet here you were, talking normally to Leah.
“Jordy, think you might have some competition” Beth teased as Katie began laughing loudly.
“As if” Jordan shook her head. Leah had hit a pass long over your head so you jogged over to get it. Some people were heading in from the warm up now. “Baby McCabe” Jordan said, as you got the ball and kicked it back towards Leah. “Watch your step” she warned.
“Fuckin eejit, you know Jordan and Leah are together. Don’t be flirtin’ with her” Katie grunted sending another smack to your head. How she managed to get the exact same place was unbelievable.
Goals were flying into the Bristol net. They barely had a shot on target the entire game and anytime they got close, you were there to stop it.
You’d usually be coming on the pitch when Leah was coming off, so you’d never gotten to play together before. She couldn’t get over just how good of a defender you were. You’d throw your body everywhere and anywhere to keep the ball from going anywhere near your goal. But any words of praise, or attempts for a high fave or a pat on the shoulder were dodged or ignored. You knew you had to leave Leah be. You weren’t afraid of Jordan, or even your sister. But Leah had a girlfriend, and you respected that.
You’d slid in on Gemma, the Bristol player, and won the ball fairly. The follow through had caught her ankle, but it wasn’t a foul, and the ref thought so too. Nonetheless, it did seem like it hurt, so you stuck your hand out and placed it on her shoulder.
“I’m sorry” you mumbled, knowing you’d hurt the girl.
“Fuck off McCabe, one of you was enough” another player shouted, shoving you off and knocking you back to the ground, thumping your head off of it.
“Oi, fuck off” Katie growled as she pushed the player now, that had just pushed you. You were back on your feet now, watching the chaos unfold.
There were several players now screaming and shouting at each other, but you just shook your head and walked back towards Gemma, who everyone had seemed to forgotten about.
“You alright?” You asked as you helped her up off the ground.
“Good tackle” she laughed.
“You’re alright, yeah?” You said, looking towards her ankle.
“All good” she patted your shoulder as the two of you walked off.
“You didn’t do anything wrong” Leah whispered to you as you walked back over to your position. “You never do anything wrong” she added. You shook your head and walked away from her.
The whistle blew and the game restarted. Arsenal winning 11-1 in the end, conceding when you’d been taken off.
You’d went back over to check on Gemma at the end of the game, she insisted that she was okay, again and again as you asked her a couple of times, just to be sure.
“You’re nice, you know, McCabe” she teased as you nodded. She kind of sensed that you were quiet, unlike your sister who was currently over shouting at the ref. “Text me sometime” she smiled, before walking off.
“What was that about?” Leah tutted, walking over towards you.
You’d barely even looked at Leah before Jordan had slid in between you both and cut across you. It was like you weren’t even there. You frowned at the smaller girl before walking off and into the changing room.
“Jords, that was rude” Leah huffed.
“It was hardly going to be an interesting conversation” Jordan shrugged with a laugh.
-
One thing you were not better at than Katie, that you could admit, was handling your drink, due to you not drinking much. When Katie had eventually dragged you out with the team to celebrate the first half of the season being over, you were rightly smashed by the end of the night.
You and Katie were heading back to Ireland in a few days to spend Christmas there with your family. So she had somehow persuaded you to use the little Christmas spirit that you had inside of you and come out and get smashed with the team.
You’d just gotten into the club, and the place was packed already. Katie had sent you straight off to the bar to get her a drink as she made her way over to the group. You were stood at the bar, waiting for the two drinks you’d just ordered, when you felt someone squeeze between you and the equally tall man next to you. You looked down to see a small, attractive blonde girl, practically tucked into your side.
“Sorry” she giggled. “I’ve been stood behind you two giants for 20 minutes”
“Sorry, love” The man chuckled, grabbing his drinks and heading away from the bar.
“You could at least get me a drink for blocking me from the bar, you know?” she teased, wriggling her eyebrows at you with a smirk.
“Oh, uh” you stuttered.
“Sorry, was that too harsh?” She asked as you shook your head. When the bar man came back with you and Katie’s drink, you gestured her to order hers. You held your card up so the bartender knew it was part of your order, so he quickly made her drink before you paid for all three.
“Thanks babe, have a nice night” she grinned, sipping from her drink and patting your face.
You’d been with a couple of girls at this stage. After the Bristol game you may or may not have ended up in a certain Welsh’s players DMs before she’d invited you over. The same Welsh girl whose ankle you almost broke during the game. But you weren’t overly great with girls, mostly due to the fact your lips were usually sealed for 23 hours and 59 minutes of the day.
“What took ye so bleedin’ long?” Katie grunted as you got back and handed her the drink and shrugged. “Were ye talkin to that bird?” Katie laughed as you huffed and tried to walk towards the couches, but Katie wasn’t letting you away that easy. She pulled you out and onto the dance floor where the rest of the crowd was.
“Oh look who came out” Leah laughed as she put her hand on your arm, but as quick as anything removed it, due to being pulled by a drunk Jordan into a kiss.
You didn’t even get a second to comprehend just how good Leah looked and how good her hand felt on your arm. You’d never been properly committed to someone before, you’d never even liked someone before, not properly anyway. Maybe that’s why you couldn’t understand the feeling in your stomach watching Jordan whisk her away.
“Why do you look so angry?” The same blonde from the bar asked. You weren’t hard to find in here, due to you towering over most people.
You shrugged at her as she pulled your hand and spun around, backing herself into you as your hands dropped to her waist. Leah and Jordan were forgotten about in that moment as you danced with the smaller girl. It wasn’t long until she smashed her lips against yours, and an even shorter time until you were being whisked over to the couches in your area, where you and the girl continued on.
You were beyond the stage of drunk now. You were far too drunk to get this girl safely to a house, but she was more than willing to let you try.
“Take me home” she whispered against you. You stumbled to your feet looking around for your jacket as the girl went off to tell her friends she was leaving.
“Katie, you can’t let her go like that” Jen pointed up towards you, as Katie frowned at the sight of you and headed up.
“Mac, ye alright?” She asked and you nodded. “Are ye going with that girl?” She was only met with a nod again. The girl had headed somewhere to tell her friends she was leaving with you. You stood up and Katie had to practically catch you to make sure you wouldn’t fall.
“Someone clearly can’t handle herself” Jordan laughed, but Leah pouted at the sight of you. Her pout just turned to a look of anger as Katie willingly handed you over to a blonde stranger that you were taking home.
“Katie, surely not” Kim shook her head.
“She’s an adult, if she wants to get drunk and ride a bird what’s that got to do with me?” Katie shrugged. All Leah could do was frown at your sister. She put her annoyance down to the fact Katie let you walk away so drunk, and not that you’d walked out of here with someone that wasn’t her.
That girl wasn’t the first since you’d gotten with since you moved to London, but she most certainly was the first girl you’d slept with after you realised you had feelings for Leah. It became more of a frequent thing for you, going out and getting drunk and sleeping with a girl.
Sometimes she’d be a footballer, and sometimes she’d be a random hook up. Either way, the mixture of some girl and the alcohol made you forget about the stupid feelings you had for Leah.
And that is how you had found yourself here, two years later. Still sleeping around with whichever girl looked interested in you that night. You’d become a bit of a heartbreaker in the league, going through girls like they were nothing. Because, they were. You didn’t feel anything for any of them like the way you still felt about Leah. But she was happy. Happy with football, with her friends and with Jordan. Or, so you thought. You hadn’t said a word to Leah for roughly 2 years, since that day you warmed up together at Bristol. That was the last day Leah heard you speak to her. She’d heard your voice in those last two years of course, usually it was just a brief one word answer or a mumble.
You and Katie hadn’t qualified for the Euros in England, but you went with her and Ruesha to watch a couple of the games. Other games you went alone, as you were meeting one of the players on the team afterwards back in their hotel.
Katie was invited to the England team hotel to meet up with some of the girls on the team, and brought you along. Mostly because she needed a lift due to her car getting fixed today and Ruesha was visiting her family.
In the last two years, you’d become an elite young player. Nobody would dare even look you in the eye at Arsenal or Ireland. You never, ever stopped training, always running or in the gym. You had more tattoos now, barely an inch of your body was untouched. You were utterly and physically terrifying. That didn’t stop the endless stream of girls sliding into your DMs or texts. But it did stop you having friends, of which you had none.
Katie instantly drifted off to her mates as you sat by the coffee dock in the hotel and did some work on your laptop. You were studying to get your coaching badges, and had no desire to talk to anybody.
“Y/n?” You heard from behind you as you spun around to meet eyes with the English captain. You gave her a quick wave but she took that as an invitation to come and talk to you. “What are you doing here?” She asked.
“Uh, Katie was meeting Beth” you shrugged. You noticed she looked sad. She never normally looked sad. You debated just flicking back to your laptop, but you couldn’t. You were still that softie who really liked her. “You alright?” You asked, with a look of genuine concern on your face that Leah was taken aback by.
“Yeah” she nodded unconvincingly. “Just, you know, you probably heard me and Jordan broke up and then coming straight into camp was tough” Leah pouted, looking like she was going to cry.
“I didn’t hear” you shook your head, closing your laptop and standing up. You’re not really sure why you hugged her, but she didn’t seem to mind. “Will I get you something?” You asked.
She’d asked you for a coffee as you rushed over to order one. You came back with one and a little treat, before you sat back down. Just to your surprise she sat opposite you. You never invited her to sit down, or told her to vent to you about all her problems, but you were more than happy to oblige.
You liked Leah. You liked Leah a lot. Since the day you met her you had a soft spot for her.
During her rambling, she dropped her key card and the ground and reached down to pick it up. You threw your hand on the edge of the table to cover the area where she would have possibly whacked her head if she moved too quickly. You always whacked your head off of everything, and knew she was a bit clumsy too.
“Sorry I’m just rambling on” Leah chuckled pathetically when she’d came to her senses.
“Take all the time you need to talk” you waved your hands, reassuring her it was for her to continue.
“Everyone is so wrong about you” Leah shook her head, and reached for the ring on your thumb. You didn’t move your hand away when she gripped it. “They think you’re terrifying or intimidating, when actually you’re a big softie” she chuckled with a light sob.
“I, uh, I think they have me figured out” you shrugged. Still trying to put on the facade of being intimidating.
“No” Leah shook her head in disagreement. “I don’t think so”.
Your face had a softer expression on it than it usually did, until you felt a pair of hands on the back of your shoulders.
“Come on, grumpy” Katie teased, squeezing your shoulders. “Sorry, am I interruptin’?” Katie asked.
You shook your head and stood up, not looking at Leah again and walked off towards the door.
“You alright?” Katie asked Leah who nodded and got up from the table now.
That was the last time you spoke to Leah again, not even texting her to say congratulations when she won the Euros. You were too busy sending off ‘commiserations’ and a ‘how long will you be in London?’ text to a certain German player who slipped away from the team hotel that night and over to your house.
When you got back to Arsenal after the Euros, the club had organised a night out for the team to celebrate the girls who had won. On the same night, Jordan announced she was moving to Villa for the upcoming season. You frowned at the smaller, older girl’s announcement. Tonight wasn’t about her, well it wasn’t meant to be.
Most girls seemed to be having a nice night, but not Leah. She was slumped against a pillar with a drink in her hand, clearly overly drunk. Everyone else seemed too drunk to notice the state she was in. You looked around to see if anybody else was going to move to check on her, but nobody was taking notice. You groaned as you pushed your way through people to get to her.
“Leah” you shouted over the music as you got infront of her. She smiled when she saw you, but it was a drunken smile. She was stumbling around as she pushed her back off the pillar. Your hands instantly found her waist to keep her on her feet.
“Take me back to yours” she slurred in a whispered tone, hands gripping the back of your neck tightly.
“Not tonight” you shook your head. There was no way in hell you were taking her back to your house while she was in this much of a state.
“I want you so bad” she smirked as she gripped your neck harder. You gently removed her hands from you before she was physically pulled away.
“Come dance” Jordan groaned, shooting you a look.
“Jords” Leah giggled and smashed her lips into hers. You knew Leah would regret that, but not as much as she would regret going home with you.
You stormed off, back towards where all your stuff was and began to pull your stuff together. You weren’t sober, but you were definitely the most with it person on the team. Nobody else could probably put together a coherent sentence right now.
Which is probably why she thought she could confide in you.
“Y/n” Lia whispered, you could tell she was crying. You looked at her funny, wondering why she was crying to you of all people. You’d never even said hello to each other before. She fell into your arms and you made sure she knew you didn’t mind, clearly she needed it. You looked over her head, to see Katie and Caitlin dancing very close. “Are you leaving? Can I go with you?” Lia asked.
You nodded at her and handed her your stuff. You told her you’d be out in a minute, as she walked outside the club. You brushed by Jordan and Leah trying to get to Katie.
“Fucking watch yourself” Jordan snapped.
“Yeah? Or what?” You pushed back your shoulders as you walked towards her.
“Oh you talk now do you? Thought it was just my girlfriend you talked to” Jordan laughed.
“Your ex girlfriend, you mean?” You rolled your eyes at her and walked off.
“Fucking moron” Jordan shouted. You stopped abruptly, turning back to stomp back towards her.
You ripped Jordan away from Leah, who instantly started shouting for Katie. You didn’t, unfortunately, get to hit Jordan because your sister never reacted so fast in her life to get you away.
“The fuck do you think you’re doing? I’ve told you to leave Leah out of your little” Katie screamed.
“What do I think I’m doing? What the fuck are you doing?” You shouted, cutting across her and pointing at Caitlin. “Ruesha is fucking waiting for you at your house”
Katie looked guilty, but you’d caught her with something that she couldn’t exactly argue back on. You took that as your opportunity to leave and got Lia safely into a taxi.
“Where to?” The taxi man shouted. You looked at Lia to call out her address first.
“Take me to yours” she whispered. You’d already fucked that with Leah so you weren’t going wreck it with Lia too. You gave the taxi man your address and he sped off. She wasn’t Leah, but that didn’t matter right now.
You and Lia were all over each other when you got to your house. She was barely giving you a second to ask her if she was okay with this. She was clearly just looking for you to take her mind off her now, ex girlfriend, cheating on her.
“Lia” you eventually got out as you pulled her away. “I don’t know” you shook your head.
“It’s not serious” she reassured you trying to lean in again.
“No it’s just” you sighed. “I really like Leah, as in Leah Leah” you admitted.
“You do?” She asked and you nodded. “Does she know?” You shook your head.
Despite the kiss being nice, it didn’t go further. You and Lia ended up on your couch talking all night about her being upset and your feelings for Leah.
“Do you need me to do anything? I could speak to Katie” you offered. But Lia didn’t want you to. She was fully done with Caitlin now.
You were there for her, through the entire break up. More so than you were there for Katie when her and Ruesha split up. You and Lia became friendly, much to the annoyance of your sister, Lia’s ex girlfriend and none other than Leah Williamson.
You would be over in her apartment or her in your house. Sometimes driving to and from training together. Leah and Lia were very close, but Lia never told her about your feelings for her. Well, she tried not too. She held onto the secret for a good few months.
Leah was over in Lia’s watching the Arsenal men’s match, hiding behind the cushion to cover her eyes from how bad they were playing. Lia didn’t seem too phased, just tapping away on her phone with a big grin on her face. You knew Lia had started seeing someone else, and she made Lia happy.
“Who you texting?” Leah frowned at her smirking friend.
“Nothing, nobody” Lia stuttered, closing her phone and putting it beside her.
“You can tell me you and y/n are seeing each other, it’s fine. It’s obvious” Leah shrugged, turning her attention back to the TV
“Me and y/n?” Lia laughed hysterically.
“Yeah, I mean” Leah tried to explain.
“If you must know everything, I’m texting my actual girlfriend” Lia snickered.
“You have a girlfriend?” Leah raised her eyebrows. “Do I know her?”
“It’s Mariona, that plays for Barcelona” Lia smiled and Leah smiled back at her, wrapping her into a hug.
“You deserve someone nice” Leah added before turning her attention back to the tv.
“So do you, Lee” Lia said softly rubbing her shoulder. “I did try with y/n” Lia admitted, which got Leah’s attention again.
“Oh yeah?” Leah asked, with a slight look of jealousy on her face that Lia noticed immediately.
“That night at the Euro’s party, she took me home and I kissed her. But she said she didn’t want it to go further” Lia said.
“She would fuck anything with a pulse” Leah groaned.
“Yeah but you know why that is” Lia laughed, but Leah only looked at her with a face of pure confusion. “Oh, shit” Lia whispered as she now realised, Leah still didn’t know you liked her.
“What?” Leah frowned. There was no going back now.
“The night we kissed, she told me she was really hung up on someone, but they were with someone else. But then that person got broken up with, but that night, she kissed her ex” Lia subtly tried to point out but noticed the look on Leah’s face indicated she wasn’t following. “Think harder” Lia groaned.
It took a couple more seconds, but it clicked in Leah’s head. You liked her.
“Me?” Leah gasped as Lia nodded.
“She’s liked you since she met you, but you were with Jordan and she didn’t want to move on so” Lia shrugged. “Wait, do you like her?” She asked, when she noticed Leah’s smile.
“I” Leah stuttered. “Yeah” she nodded as Lia squeezed her shoulders and squealed. “Oh for fuck sake” Lia shouted as Arsenal conceded.
Leah didn’t act right away, she had only split up with Jordan a few months at this stage and was still getting used to being single.
“You’re still coming later?” Lia asked, wriggling her eyebrows at you.
“For you, yes” you smirked. “But you know I don’t want to”.
You hadn’t been on a team night out since you had threatened to kill Jordan and Katie, your sister that you barely spoke to anymore.
You and Lia were dancing together, a bit drunk. You tended to stay with her a lot now, making sure she was okay. Mariona liked you too, she’d tried to set you up with multiple Barcelona girls but none really worked out. Not long term anyway.
“Can I steal her?” Leah asked as you nodded and walked away, presuming she was asking you about Lia. “Hey” Leah shouted, grabbing your wrist. “I meant you”
“Oh” you breathed out as Lia smirked at you, pointing at Leah and mouthing something you could only presume was her begging you to admit your feelings. “You okay?” You asked, letting your fingertips fall to her waist.
“Do you want to dance?” Leah shouted so you could hear her. She took your hand and pulled you into the dance floor. The two of you were dancing together, hands falling tightly on the other.
“Lee” you grumbled into her shoulder.
“Stop talking” she demanded. You barely talked anyway, so it wasn’t hard to grant her request. Your hands roamed her body as hers snaked up your neck. “Tell me, tell me what you told Lia” she slurred in your ear. “About me” she added, for context.
“I like you” you stated bluntly. She pulled your hand and took you out of the night club and into a taxi.
When you got back to hers, she leaned in to kiss you but you moved away.
“You’re sure you want this? I don’t want you to do anything you don’t feel comfortable with because you deserve” you tried to ramble on but she couldn’t take it anymore. She kissed you hard and you wrapped your hands around her thighs, pulling them around your waist and lifting her off the ground in the process.
“Where’s your bedroom?” You mumbled as she pointed to the door on the right in her apartment. You got both of you in there before placing her gently on the bed. “You’re sure?” You asked again.
“Just get in, you big softie” she snickered as you got onto the bed. You made quick work removing her clothes, as she pulled your top up and over your head. “I didn’t know you had this many” she traced along the tattoos on your chest and stomach.
“I like this one” you mumbled, placing your finger on the tattoo on her ribs.
“I like you” she said, kissing you again.
You woke the next morning with Leah sleeping soundly against you.
It was different with her, neither of you rushed out of bed when you’d both woken up.
“Was last night okay?” You asked as she looked at you with a frown.
“How do people actually find you intimidating?” She laughed, pressing a kiss to your lips as her hand cupped your cheek. “Last night was more than okay” she nodded.
“I don’t want it to be a one time thing” you said.
“It was never that for me” she reassured you.
“So you’re happy being my girlfriend then?” You asked as she smirked.
“As long as Lia doesn’t mind sharing you” she giggled as you rolled your eyes and kissed her again.
