So, an Idea, or AU I had regarding the good ol DPxDC.
I’m not sure what sort of disaster Amity’s ghost problem would be classified as, but think of what would happen if the local EMS (Emergency Services like Fire Departments, Law Enforcement, Emergency Medical, etc.) pretty much started jumping over the Mayor from the get-go? What if hard proof of these hijinx, for a brief time, were able to get out of Amity?
Well the Governor would probably have someone take a look, and once nonsense is confirmed (especially of its weird nonsense that looks a little to close to supers) they send in the National Guard, at first to keep an eye on the situation.
Then comes the Ghost Investigation Ward, and things go from moderately worrying to “WTF” real quick. And things start looking less Small Town USA and more Stalins Town USSR, at the height of Stalins Purges.
Admittedly it’s not immediate, and during the time between being put on “Indefinite Alert” and actually being relived this unit (I’m thinking a Battalion Sized force so about 1,200 soldiers/guardsmen total) ends up befriending the locals, and much to the Mayor, and GIWs, frustration, Phantom, as well as Red Huntress.
This leads to a standoff, the GIW can really only do what they want because of the Governments permission for them to do so, but engaging National Guard, who had not been federalized, may cause an issue or two. So they bring up the issue with someone who they think will back them up, their new boss Lex Luthor.
Now Lex isn’t a fool, but he figures out how the Justice League isn’t being called is due to a jammer the GIW set up and figures he can take a look around incognito like, or more accurately get trusted members of The Goonion, who he had Federally given approval to, to go take a look around.
When Alex gets the full story, and not just the GIWs original story but also updated info from the Doctors Fenton, who are now VERY worried, because they were wrong about Ghosts in more ways than they originally thought they may have been. Suffice to say, when Lex manages to get a copy of "The History of The Infinite Realms" and finds that Krypton's Afterlife is GONE, as in they did something similar to what the GIW is planning, he starts hitting the "Abort" Button with fury. Only to be told "Too late we're underway, we're going through a tunnel, what? What?" And now Lex decides Enough is Enough. Lex does two things, first he sends the GO order for the National Guard Battalion in Amity Park, then he starts trying to get a hold of the Justice League because "Listen I know you dislike me but I am willing to drop it all if you HELP WITH THIS BS THAT I JUST INHERITED!" Meanwhile back in Amity Things go from 0 to 100 faster than an Flash, that being the National Guard heard "GO" and immediatly started blasting. The Townfolks: Confused The Ghosts: Confused Team Phantom: Confused and Afraid The Ghost Hunters who are now studying Ghost Culture and the like: Very Confused and sorta getting Arrested. The GIW: Full of Bullet Holes, Screaming, and On Fire Meanwhile, The National Guard are waiting around two hours later with Phantom for any "Federal" News to come through: So the New President decided the Anti-Ecto Acts are BS, unfortunately they haven't been overturned yet so we're all most likely going to be marked as traitors. Mind if we hide out somewhere our bosses can't find us? Also the Justice League never actually knew any of the BS we've been going through, GIW Had some Jammer set up.
Phantom, Tired of all the damage and killing the GIW has caused in Amity Park: I'll try, but I'm not sure how much good it will do if the League shows up.
TLDR: Amity Park during it's entire run has a Battalion of US National Guard camped out in the outskirts/abandoned parts of town and they figure out most of the situation regarding Phantom not being the Villain Mayor Masters and the GIW Claim him to be. Following this logic they turned around and at the first opportunity attacked the GIW and pushed them out of Amity Park.

“You got anything to tell me about yesterday’s interview, Ponytail?”
Being cornered by one’s editor is rarely a good sign. Being cornered by a harried Snapper Carr one month into her tenure as a rookie reporter would be enough to give others nightmares for a month. Maybe ulcers. Kara, though, she’s been having a great week, and she’s not about to let anyone ruin it.
“Nope.” She pops the p a little. Something about Snapper’s moroseness always pushes her to be spitefully chipper.
“Nothing out of the ordinary?”
“Not at all.”
“Hm.” Snapper nurses the thought with that dour, toothachey look that Kara’s come to learn is directed at her just as much as it is a sign of his general displeasure with the world. He pulls out his phone, jabbing at the screen. “So do you mind explaining to me why my cub reporter is on the front page of every gossip rag from here to Metropolis as the Mystery Blonde Caught in Luthor’s Web?”
That can’t be right is immediately the tip of Kara’s tongue but it freezes there, along with the incredulous laugh threatening to burst out of her, because Snapper is shoving his phone in her face and–
“It’s not what it looks like,” she blurts out, instinctively, then winces at her own choice of words. Great save. “I was just being considerate.”
It’s true, really. She was only holding the door open for Lena as they left L-Corp (Lena was on the move the whole day, they did half of the interview in the back of her Range Rover, flitting between offices), and it only happened that Lena’s hand fell to her forearm, a completely innocent gesture, as innocent as Lena’s smile, as the way she swayed a little closer, saying thank you as she strode by. And sure, Kara may have felt mesmerized for a single, fleeting moment, suddenly so deeply flustered by the gentle weight of Lena’s hand that she almost cracked the door handle in two, but who wouldn’t? Lena Luthor just has a remarkable presence. Why are they letting paparazzi camp out at the L-Corp doorstep, anyways?
“I’ve never seen Luthor that affectionate with anyone.” Snapper eyes Kara suspiciously, his face screaming why you of all people, bumbling rookie who can barely even spell?. “I’ve never seen any of the Luthors affectionate with anyone at all.”
“Guess it’s just my natural charm, sir.” Kara flashes the most annoyingly innocent smile she can, then squares her shoulders. “Did you actually read my article?”
There’s a beat of silence, Snapper staring daggers at her. Then finally, finally, he lets out an annoyed huff.
“Of course I read it. It’s going out first thing tomorrow.” He pockets his phone, then rubs his face with a tired motion. “Make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
“You got it, boss.”
-
It happens again.
It happens again a bunch, really. (Kara at the L-Corp gala, at Lena’s table, the two of them in lively conversation, shoulders pressed together – she was telling me about L-Corp’s new green energy initiative, sir –, the fond smile and almost-teasing tone when Lena calls “yes, Miss Danvers?” at her press conference – she’s just nice! It’s not a crime! –, the candid of them on the CatCo balcony when Lena’s in house for her cover shoot, Kara gesturing excitedly and Lena leaning against the railing, hanging onto every word, a jacket two sizes too big wrapped around her shoulders – you know it gets cold out there. At least there’s no photos of her wrapping the jacket around Lena, their hands brushing together, the faint blush along the lines of Lena’s throat. That’d probably look pretty suspicious.) Snapper’s face takes on increasingly vivid shades of purplish red.
“Do we need to go over the meaning of journalistic integrity again, Danvers?”
Kara decides to take graduating from “Ponytail” as a win.
“We’re not– it’s not anything untoward,” she shoots back, arms crossed, only slightly blushing. In anger, certainly. “I’m doing my job. I grilled her on L-Corp still holding a contract with the government for anti-alien defense systems that Lex negotiated, just last week. There’s footage.”
“Yeah,” Snapper grinds his teeth so vehemently that Kara’s afraid he might crack a crown. “Footage of her hugging you in the hallway afterwards, too. What the hell were you doing?”
“She just thanked me, sir.” The vein on Snapper’s neck looks ready to burst. Kara makes a mental note to recommend meditation at a less belligerent time. “She said my question made it possible for her to make a public stance and really send a message.”
Snapper looks like he’s nearing an aneurysm.
“Hell, Danvers, that sounds even worse!”
It sounded pretty great, actually, Kara thinks, after the borderline unprofessional row they had in Lena’s office when Kara first broached the subject. It felt pretty great, too, not just Lena’s declaration, her renewed commitment to reject everything Lex and Lillian stand for, but the warmth of Lena’s pressed against her, her lips brushing against Kara’s cheek, the low murmur of “you’re such a wonderful friend” in her ear that gave her such a strange shiver. At least that much thankfully escaped the prying eyes and cameras.
“Either I don’t go near her, or CatCo continues to have the leading stories on one of National City’s most high-profile citizens.” She gives Snapper the steeliest look she can muster without letting her heat vision flare up. “And my covers are currently bringing in our biggest numbers. Sir.”
Snapper grinds his teeth again, but his shoulders sag just a touch, and Kara knows she’s won this round.
“You’re on thin ice, Danvers. Back to your desk.”
Kara complies with a grin and a thumbs up, and decides to take a break half an hour later, when Alex forwards her an article titled Bosom Buddies: Lena Luthor Out And About With CatCo Gal Pal with a subtle mix of skull, knife, and eyeroll emojis. She does save one of the photos, though, the one where Lena’s head’s thrown back in adorable, delightful laughter.
-
“Can you explain this one, Danvers?”
Snapper doesn’t look angry this time. No, he’s strangely calm, somewhat elated, even, slamming a whole bundle of newspapers down on her desk, jolting Kara out of her reverie. Half of them are National City publications, Kara vaguely notes, but there’s Metropolis and Gotham and Central City in the mix, too, as if it was the story of the century. Must be a slow news day.
“Of course, sir. I think the proper term is ‘first date’?”
To her greatest surprise, Snapper barks out a laugh, loud and gruff.
“You’re now barred from any future reporting on the Luthors or L-Corp,” he tells her, not without a touch of satisfaction. If Kara hadn’t been walking on sunshine for the past thirteen hours, twenty-eight minutes and forty-one seconds, since the first tentative press of Lena’s lips against her own, she might’ve felt a bit miffed. “Cat Grant’s setting aside a little time later in the afternoon to chew you out personally.”
Kara nods happily along. Withering tones and grim disapproval, the usual spiel, as if anything could dull that buzzing, electrifying feeling coursing through her body since last night, the weightless, feverish joy that grips her every time she thinks of Lena’s last text and everything can’t wait to see you again tonight could possibly entail.
“Yessir.”
“Congratulations, Danvers.” Snapper raps his knuckles against her desk. “Let’s spare each other the heartburn from now on.”
(Kara shows up with a hickey on her neck and the headlines of Lena Luthor Packs PDA With New Girlfriend the next day. Snapper refuses to look her in the eyes for the rest of the week.)

Submitted Prompts #158
Sorry if this isn’t the right place, I have only recently discovered this tumblr and am slowly working my way backwards through your dpxdc tag.  I think it might be an injoke here so uh, behold poor Yorick, totally not the human skull of Tchaikowsky fullfilling his actor dreams postmortem.
One of the posts in the tag was a dpxdc trope writing challenge. So I’m not sure if you’re interested in seeing blurb turned fic summary but here:
Nightwing learns of a travelling circus, Circus Gothica, that claims to have ‘The Real Flying Graysons performing from the beyond the grave’. Alternatively furious and hopeful he discretely goes to investigate, and finds himself overshadowed by one of Ringmaster Freakshows ghostly workers, stuck performing as an acrobat for the circus. As Nightwing struggles with his posession and reunion with seemingly the supposed ghosts of his parents, he finds an unlikely ally in Killer Croc/Waylon Jones, who had been kidnapped on his travels back to Gotham after having tried and failed to settle down in Swamp Things swamp.
Unfortunately the pairs cooperation ends shortly after freeing themselves and the completely unneccessary fight allows Freakshow and his assosciates to escape. Nightwing is determined to solve the case himself (and get justice for his dead parents and himself) causing tension between him and Batman who noted his disappearance.
Batman independently investigates, leading him to the Guys in White. Identifying them as an anti-meta group, he brings it to the attention of the Justice League in hopes of organising a legal solution - Superman takes it personally when one of the primary funders is revealed to be Lex Luthor.
Meanwhile Nightwing has tracked Freakshow to a bolthole/lair, where he comes across Val, a woman in a red jumpsuit, who had been following the trail of a different individual - a villain she calls Vlad Plasmius . The pair work together, Val freeing the ghosts in Freakshows control including the Greysons and Nightwing getting a cathartic takedown of both Freakshow and (with borrowed tech) Vlad.
Their partnership and the greater plot behind the villains actions goes over Nightwings head as he recognises 'not his circus, not his monkeys’ and opts to leave it to his new friend.
Meanwhile Clark Kent has discovered an odd exchange of info/money/tech between the GIW, Lex Luthor and a strange inventor who loudly proclaims that he is Technus. The end goal seems to be to create suits that will be secretly under Lex Luthors control capable of rivalling heroes, so as to supplant heroes as beloved protectors of the world, as a step in ridding the world of independent metas like superman and getting him his own private world army.
Also meanwhile Batman has continued to investigate GIW/Freakshow leading him to Amity Park, where he witnesses young adult Sam Manson inadvertently vitalise plants during a local eco protest. When persistent digging leads to learning about the overgrowth incident, Batman reaches out to Harley for her thoughts on how mentorhip might positively/negatively effect her struggling but mostly reformed partner Poison Ivy. Batman uses his Brucie Wayne persona to assist in organising an eco activism initiative (and plant meta power mentorship) with the Mansons, with Sam taking a guiding role.
Supermans battle against Lexs + Technus mediated ghost/meta power suits goes poorly and he calls in for rescue. Recognising the issues from his research in Amity, Batman 'borrows’ tech from the Fentonworks before going to the rescue.
With the day saved Batman returns to update his records on ghosts and store his new tech, finally leading to Nightwing explaining a bit of his experiences to add to the records.
The story ends on the cliffhanger of Danny getting screwed over by Batman’s improved antighost protections when he went to try track down and collect the stolen weapons.
I had fun with this : )

mel!!! your cat grant & max lord interlude ficlet got me to thinking - i was wondering if you had any thoughts on if they had kept maxwell lord in national city when lena luthor had arrived, what would that look like if he were a ‘tech industry’ foil instead of/in addition to morgan edge?
Oohhh yes!!! (Ficlet for reference.)
I honestly really liked Maxwell Lord’s character on the show. I was not digging the Max/Alex romance that seemed to be brewing (I just don’t think it’s possible for Alex to develop interest in someone with such clear disregard for her sister), but I really liked him being the tech foil. I think he makes a far better one than Morgan Edge, who was just a boring old out-for-himself psychopath.
Maxwell Lord, on the other hand, did feel driven by a mission. He had a deep distrust of the government due to his parents’ deaths, and I do genuinely believe that he wanted to do good in the world. But unlike Kara, he is much more cynical and practical in his approach. And much more willing to allow for collateral damage.
It kind of reminds me of the difference between Lex and Lillian. Lex is just power tripping (Jon Cryer absolutely kills it in this role, otherwise I’m not sure I’d like Lex nearly as much as I do). But Lillian is the much more interesting Luthor villain, because she genuinely thinks she’s doing good for the world - her view of the “world” is just very narrow, because it only focuses on humans, and she’s perfectly fine being a bigot. If we take it a step further with Lena’s villain era, she really served as an anti-villain - Lena’s cause was fundamentally good, but her methods were deeply misguided.
I’m trying to imagine how Max and Lena would’ve gotten along. I think, like with the Daxamite invasion where Lena and Lillian kind of team up, we could see reluctant teamups between this pair as well. But unlike Lillian, Max doesn’t really have a reason to hide the truth of Kara’s identity from Lena. Would she have figured it out sooner? Would he specifically have left clues that led Lena there?
He might even have walked in assuming that Lena knew, before realizing that she really didn’t. And from there, maybe he would’ve driven a very different type of wedge, maybe try to sow distrust. Canonically he starts out as a powerful business man, and eventually becomes involved in Cadmus...
Hear me out, but it might’ve been interesting to watch Maxwell Lord sliding into darker territories (working with Lillian, Cadmus, etc) and trying to take Lena with him. We know he’s attracted to powerful women (like Cat), and he’s smart enough that Lena might’ve found him initially interesting (like, let’s be real, this would’ve been a far more interesting romance arc than Lena/James… though in this case, I’m imagining more of an antagonistic FWB where Lena starts to see some of his points).
Lena would never join Cadmus, she’s not anti-alien. (Max might not be overtly anti-alien, but it's not important enough for him to avoid either.) But she has blind spots that it takes time for her to see (eg the alien detector), and maybe she feels more and more sympathetic to Max’s positions over time.
That puts Kara - who is more than a little in love with her best friend - in the tough spot of knowing that Max joined Cadmus, knowing he’s basically trying to seduce Lena into darkness (Kara is definitely not jealous about his other successful seduction nope nope nope it has nothing to do with that!!), and while she knows Lena would never set out to cause harm... she’s falling into a trap.
So what does Kara do? She tells Lena she’s Supergirl, and Lena now knows that both her best friend and her fuck-buddy-sometimes-romance have been lying to her all along.
I’m not imagining a villain era for Lena here, because I still think that was mostly prompted by Lena’s murder of Lex (you can see a clear delimination in my fics of when she is vs. isn’t angry about the secret, and when her anger is vs. isn’t leading to a villain era).
But she might try to go it alone, close up again and avoid people. She’d dive deep into her lab work, trying to cure cancer or something, improve humanity without interacting with anyone. The lab is safe. Science doesn’t betray you. Statistics don’t lie to you. (Statistics do lie, but she has character flaws.)
She’s content to live her life as a science-inventor-hermit…
Until Kara shows up bloodied at her door, and says “I need your help”.

So I’ve been having this ongoing conversation with my friends/family about the DC villains and rogues. Specifically, which ones would we be willing to have a drink/dinner with?
(Note: all of my opinions are based on the versions of them that I know, so it’s definitely not fully accurate and I don’t particularly care)
My list so far:
Joker:
ABSOLUTELY NOT. No, nada, nein, no way. Would rather chop off my own foot and feed it to Killer Croc.
Scarecrow:
Still absolutely not, don’t feel like seeing my worst nightmare and having a panic attack in the middle of a bar. Somehow, still prefer to Joker.
Killer Croc:
Depends on the version? If it’s the nice one who sponsored Roy at AA, maybe. If it’s the one who eats humans, probably not.
Mad Hatter:
NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT. As a young woman, hell no. Yet somehow still above the joker.
Hugo Strange:
He gives me the creeps.
Lex Luther:
Absolutely. Especially if he’s picking up the check. I’m not in his way, I’m not Superman, and he has no reason to harm me. It might actually be an interesting conversation.
Music Meister:
YES. I don’t even care if I get mind controlled, we are going to a karaoke bar and I am hearing Neil Patrick Harris sing.
Catwoman:
Really more of an antihero, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I’d get a drink or dinner with her, it’s not like I have anything worth stealing.
Harley Quinn:
Pre-breakup, hell no. Post-breakup, why not?
Poison Ivy:
Iffy, but I think I’d be fine. She might be fun to talk to.
Captain Cold:
Absolutely, and we’re gonna have a great time. I don’t think he’s hurt me, and it might actually be fun.
Riddler:
Yes! I think it’d be fun, and I’m thinking we turn his riddles into a drinking game.
Mr. Freeze:
Absolutely would. I’m not in his way, he has no reason to hurt me, I’ll be fine.
Red Hood:
Technically an anti-hero, but I don’t care cause I very much want to have dinner or a drink with Red Hood. He won’t hurt me because I am a woman who has done nothing wrong, and honestly I might bring him with me to meet all the others.
Ra’s Al Ghul:
I’d rather not? I don’t think he has any reason to hurt me but the guy gives me the creeps and I’d like to avoid him whenever possible.
Firefly:
Unsure? I also like fire, but I don’t know enough about his temperament to know how it’d go.
Scarface:
NO. ABSOLUTELY NOT. NO. (Still above Joker)
Two-Face:
Honestly, idk. Probably. It’s a coin toss whether it would go okay or really badly.
Penguin:
Yeah, why not? I haven’t given him any reason to hurt me, I have nothing he’d want, it’d probably just be an average dinner/drink.
I included some antiheroes on here because I want to. And I know that these aren’t all the villains or rogues in DC, but they’re the ones I had opinions on or discussed already.
Anyway, I’m kinda curious to hear other people’s opinions, or thoughts on other characters, or anything really.

I’ve read a lot of AUs where DAnny Fenton gets adopted by the Bats (actually what got me to watch Danny Phantom in the first place) but what if it was Dani who was taken in? This little ghost girl, who looks a lot younger than Danny, is flying around Gotham and has various encounters with the Bats, but keeps flying away or running away. They don’t realise at first that both her forms are one person. Jason looks out for the street kids in Gotham, and this one avoids all the gangs. She’s gone to Gotham to hide out from Vlad, because he’s afraid of going into Batman’s city.  She stays away from Batman herself as much as she can. She doesn’t want to be forced out of Gotham. Phantom (she uses that name still) is hardly seen, except at night committing very minor crimes (like for food, or mischief like breaking into an aquarium to see all the animals at night).  Dani is seen at homeless shelters and in the streets, always vanishing before anyone can approach her. Until she starts destabilising again.  It’s hard to get news from Amity in Gotham. A lot of things just don’t seem to get out. She tries to fly there, to get to Danny, but she’s destabilising and falls. One of the Batfam (I’m not sure who - Duke or Cass?) finds her and tries to help her.  “A kid, a meta I think, she’s almost dissolving and reforming-” They take her to the Justice League. They manage to use a form of stasis to keep her from destabilising completely, but are at a loss about how to save her.  Except for a theory that ectoplasm might be related to Lazarus water. She’s in stasis, but I would handwave it (like all comic books science) so she can talk but not move beyond that. She’s conscious but not able to use her powers. She and Damian have a combative relationship that becomes a grudging respect. I’m not sure how it would get to this point, but I have the idea of Damian stealing Lazarus water for her, believing it will help her. Bruce, during all this, would be looking for clues to her identity. Not to return her to a family she ran away from, but to find out if they know how to help her. He doesn’t find anything except a missing persons report for a Daniel Fenton, and some pleas broadcast on television funded by Vlad Masters (the most suspicious millionaire after Lex Luthor).  Dani is clearly not Danny, because she’s younger etc. But Bruce also finds records of a Danny Phantom. If he hadn’t seen Dani’s two forms, he wouldn’t have realised that Danny Phantom and Danny Fenton were the same. He has this time. And the two ghost hunters who were Danny Fenton’s parents must know something. Danny was identified as having ectoplasm in his body by the Guys in white, and he was carted off to be “cured” by them. Maddie did not approve. Jack did, because he’s a huge fan of them. During their attempted to “cure” him, they nearly kill him and cause him t come close to destabilising. He loses control of his powers and they discover he’s Danny Phantom. He lets loose with a ghostly wail and causes an ice storm through amity park. He, and other ghostly or “ecto-contaminated” prisoners make a break for the Ghost portal with help from Jazz, Sam and Tucker.  Once inside, Danny tells Jazz, Sam and Tucker they should leave, because he’s got to make sure the GIW can’t get in, and that no more ghosts can haunt Amity Park. They refuse. They’re pretty sure they’d be next on the list to be “cured”, anyway. Jazz had moved out at this point, having become 18. Danny uses all his remaining strength to help the others through the portal before turning back to destroy it. He nearly kills himself doing it, and falls into a deep unconsciousness. He spends nearly a year being cared for by Frostbite before he recovers enough to leave.
Danielle is not going to tell these superheroes or millionaires about ghosts or the ghost portal. She’s certain that if they know for sure she’s part ghost, she’ll be in big trouble because of the anti-ecto laws. She lets it slip to one of the other kids that it’s illegal for her to exist (Damian? Jon? I could set it in a different time and have it be a Titan?).  Bruce arranges a Bat-Burglary of Fentonworks. Jason sets off a Ghost Alarm. No one knows why. They can’t find anything that they think would work, but do find a weirdly encrypted set of files on the computer that had belonged to the missing Danny Fenton. They take them. The Fentons are woken by the alarm, but are restrained by whichever disguised Batfam member is there. Valerie also hears the alarm. Hoping it’s Danny (she knows his identity by this point), but fearing that someone’s managed to reopen the ghost portal, she heads towards there. After a complicated confrontation, she’s taken to see Dani. She explains how they helped her before. They treat her with the ecto-dejector, but they know now that it might only be a temporary fix. Dani is furious that Valerie has revealed she’s part ghost. Valerie’s like “They were searching Fentonworks, they already knew.” Valerie and Dani end up being pals. Dani and Valerie both end up joining whichever young superhero team is in place - the Teen Titans or Young Justice - and Bruce Wayne, Oliver Queen (if he’s still rich?) and Mento (can’t remember his real name) fund the repealing of the Anti-ecto laws. Tucker has figured out a way to, with help from the infinimap and clockwork, get signals from outside the ghost zone. Sam, Jazz and Tucker are all developing powers at this point due to the ongoing exposure to the Ghost zone, so know it’s not safe to leave. Possibly one of them actually died and became a ghost, and has really strong powers?
Danny finds out when he sees his “little cousin” on the news. The Fentons raise a fuss, saying that she’s a ghost, and the Justice League close ranks around her. Dani yells at them on live TV that they got Danny killed by the Guys in white, revealing his identity (she genuinely thinks he’s dead).  Danny is prepared to fly out and protect her with everything he’s got, but the Justice League are protecting her. WHen asked why they are breaking the Anti-ecto laws, they make a statement that those laws are unjust and that Danielle Phantom is a child, not a monster. The Fentons do not come across well. Danny doesn’t leave, doesn’t dare leave, until the Anti-Ecto laws are repealed. Even then, he’s scared it’s a trick.  He leaves, and tries to find a safe way to approach Dani. The Boo-merang finds him first. Not because it was set off on purpose, but because it’s still keyed to his ecto signature. While he was in the ghost zone, with no stable portals, it functioned like a normal boomerang. The Batkids (possibly Duke?) are messing around with it when it flies off in a bizarre direction. THey follow. They see Danny Phantom, a little dazed and rubbing his head but gearing up to fight. Dani runs past the others to hug him. Dani Wayne is the adopted child of Bruce Wayne, with a whole host of siblings. That doesn’t mean she isn’t delighted to have her “cousin” back.  Danny can’t do the secret identity thing anymore, after everything was revealed, and ends up splitting his time between one of the super teams and the Ghost Zone. Close on Frostbite whispering “Did anyone ever tell him that he’s the Ghost King?” I’ll probably never end up writing this, because I never have the spoons or time to write anymore, but writing out the idea was really fun. If anyone wants to “adopt” the idea let me know :D

How do you feel about Damien’s Mom Talia Al Ghul? Because some people said she’s a victim of bad racist writing and she’s had a bad portrayal in the animated movies. Is Talia really just victim of bad writing or she’s actually a horrible mother/person? I’m just confused because when I read the comics about Talia and the bad things she did and I just assumed that’s was part of her character because she’s a morally questionable villain of course she’s not a “good civilian person.” I knew DC is a dark adult comic book series and I already expected going in that the villain characters like Talia would committed terrible/horrible actions against the heroes. Like for example when she drugged Bruce and took advantage of him, I was slightly shocked but wasn’t surprised. Cuz to me this was the dark stuff DC was known for doing.
Alrighty, so the answer is a little bit of both!
TW for sexual assault mentions, miscarriage, parental abuse, etc.
There's a TL;DR ("too long, didn't read" summary) under the cut if you don't wanna read my report which is pretty awesome and was fun to write.
So, nobody seems to be able to agree on who Talia is at her core, and that's generally par for the course for a comic book character with multiple writers. She's been around since 1971, so that's already 52 years! And like Greek myth, there's just a lot of different interpretations of the character.
Let's get to the nitty gritty before we talk history. In 2006, writer Grant Morrison established that Talia drugged and raped Bruce, conceiving their son Damian (and also for some reason adding a whole unnecessary "artificial womb" thing? I don't get it either). However, this is based off the fact, which Morrison later admitted, that they misremembered the story they based the Batman and Son arc off of, and later comic arcs (in 2012 and 2014) would retcon the incident as consensual. Put a pin in this.
Talia was originally more of a damsel in distress slash prize for Bruce. Remember, this was the 70s. Her main deal is being the daughter of Ra's al Ghul and thus if Batman marries her, he becomes the heir, which Ra's wants. Despite not wanting to succeed Ra's, Bruce and Talia do share romantic attraction and Ra's considers them married. Then, later on, they do actually marry and she gets pregnant, and then Talia realizes that Bruce will always be in danger having to protect her and their child, so she fakes a miscarriage and they dissolve their marriage. She gives the child to an orphanage, and he is given the name Ibn al Xu'ffasch, or "son of the bat". This is the story arc Morrison adapted later.
Talia was kinda badass in the period before 2006, where she was sort of an anti-villain. She breaks out and starts having her own self after Ra's engages her to Bane whom she despises. She, under the name Talia Head, runs LexCorp as CEO while Lex Luthor is President of the United States, and basically not only tips Superman off about all his plans, but sells LexCorp's shares to Wayne Enterprises leaving Lex functionally penniless. Then she gets brainwashed and basically evil-fied by her half-sister Nyssa Raatko who literally kills her over and over, resurrecting her each time in the Lazarus Pit as an extreme form of torture and reprogramming. She usually does more evil shit after this like joining leagues of supervillains and such. However, her motives of helping Jason Todd recover and train are usually ascribed to her love for Bruce and not wanting Jason to kill him.
Then after 2006 she goes full tilt crazy ex girlfriend and murders people, trained Selina Kyle to resist any and all psychological coercion to reveal Bruce's identity, and PLANTS A DEVICE IN DAMIAN'S SPINE THAT LETS HER CONTROL HIS BODY, and reveals that she's started cloning him because she thinks he's too weak and disowns him.
Then comes the New 52 (the part where DC did a reboot to make everybody darker and "more realistic" that absolutely nobody liked, so it started in 2011 and then DC did another reboot in 2016 to make it better) and Talia is just off the wall completely evil. Genocide, cloning Damian, killing Damian, being resurrected, then fighting an ancient alien cult and claiming she's redeemed, then literally rejoining the League of Assassins moments later.
Incidentally, apparently Grant Morrison wrote Bruce, Talia, and Damian from their own experiences as a child of divorce, which is just... wow. Like... that's just a lot to unpack there, but we're just gonna step past it.
As of the DC Rebirth reboot, Talia is more or less sort of back to being anti-villain, still yes a killer, but also more emotionally open and supportive of her son and back to trying for true redemption.
Let's take, as I usually try to do, the sum total of these experiences and from other sources and try to average it out.
Unfortunately, despite the retconning, a lot of people now still see Talia's rape of Bruce as canon. I did too for the longest time, and honestly, although it makes Talia despicable and completely irredeemable in a very visceral way, it also does allow for interesting dynamics for Bruce and Damian, the batfam and Talia, Bruce in general, and allows there to be discussion for the tragically underconsidered circumstance for female-on-male sexual assault, and by having Batman, who is often used by hypermasculine dudebros for their weird ideals of stoic toxic masculinity be a victim, and be vulnerable, and go through this could be a deeply powerful arc that nobody in comics really wants to touch. It does however, deprive us of an interesting and nuanced Talia and instead catapults her right into mustache-twirling evil.
Ultimately, Talia is the daughter and heir of Ra's al Ghul. She sees no problem murdering people, and in fact she usually shares her father's genocidal ambitions of culling much of the human race to help preserve the planet. Ra's boils down to an ecoterrorist and genocidal maniac, and Talia his henchman, though when she does strike out on her own, I can't quite get a handle on her motivations. She does tout a desire for "equality and peace" but there's really no standard she gives for what this means, so I can't really see if she's just crazy or if she has good intentions.
I think, even at her best, Talia is a perfectionist and is very strict, intent on Damian being who she wants him to be. I think she has very little empathy or compassion for others, although parts of her, at her best, regret this and she tries to grow. At her worst, she is irredeemably evil, and at her best she is... morally shady to the point of never really being able to be thought of as a good guy.
I can't speak to whether or not racism plays a part in her portrayal either as mustache twirling villain or whatever. I don't know that it's necessarily bad writing because I don't know if Talia was ever intended to not be a horrible person or morally ambiguous, apart from the early days when she was mainly a figure to be pursued by Batman. When it comes down to it, adding sexual assault to her list of crimes is not going to change much because she's a mass murderer, an ecoterrorist, an abusive mother any way you slice it because she's training her child as an assassin, and generally just not great. A fascinating character, yes, but a terrible person.
TL;DR: Talia al Ghul is a terrible person in general, but the Big Incident you refer to has been retconned and is based off a poorly-remembered story. However, considering she's a mass murderer, assassin, eco-terrorist, and also let's face it classist villain, she's still not great even if you remove that from her rap sheet. She's done some cool stuff like putting Lex Luthor in his place and that one Elseworlds story where she left Bruce and gave her son to an orphanage to protect him, but otherwise, once she was made her own character and not just a love-interest-of-the-week, Talia has been morally ambiguous at best and irredeemable at worst. I can't say if it's racist or not because I don't know the motivations in her writing, but I don't know that it's necessarily bad writing to make her unsympathetically evil.

New To Superman?
*Swivels around in villain chair petting a cat
So, you just caught up with My Adventures with Superman and you want to know what to read or watch while you wait for new episodes? SAY NO MORE! Here’s a list of personal faves of mine!  Now some notes, different writers have different takes in different decades and the publishers can play it fast and lose with continuity. So going from one story to another, you might notice some changes. Like weather or not Clark’s parents are alive or if Lois dating Clark etcetera etcetera. Don’t worry about it, just roll with it.
Now lets get started with THE SUPER LIST!
Superman: Birthright
Tumblr media
A solid starting point graphic novel. It’s got everything ya need for his origin story and is a fantastic character study of Clark and his arch enemy Lex Luthor. The art is pretty good as well and does a great job of showing both sides of Clark’s character and power. If you love the show and want to see how the books handle the Man of Steel’s first run in Metropolis then you got yourself a fun book.
Next we’ll get into some movies! Now, you can watch most of these on hbomax so let’s all vote with our wallets and support the official release! That way studios don’t make us wait ANOTHER 20 years for a Superman cartoon.
Superman: Unbound
youtube
Superman faces a cosmic alien super computer named Brainiac! Braniac’s deal is he wants to put cities in small bottles and then blow up the rest of the planet he collects them from. It’s a cool conflict cuz it’s a villain Superman can’t just PUNCH into submission. As Braniac can just download into another body if he did. So Superman is gonna have to get super smart to out smart a super computer..... listen the movie’s writing is better than mine, trust me.
Superman Vs The Elite
youtube
Oh, here we GO! Okay so this full movie is based on ONE issues of the comics. ONE. Not a 6 part mini series arc collected into one trade paperback. ONE COMIC! It was THAT GOOD! Superman meets some new heroes on the block, THE ELITE. They’re GRITTY and DARK and SERIOUS ANTI HEROES who aren’t afraid to KILL the bad guys! They’re also here to try and force Superman to retire his wholesome way of saving the day. This movie has amazing action animation and phenomenal writing that shows why the core character of Clark being kind still resonates with audiences when given the chance. (You’ve probably seen the big speech from this movie passed around youtube a lot and rightly so. This is a good one, go watch it!) Now, Superman has one of the all time iconic origin stories, but how does his story end? Well lots of writers have tried their hands at it. A few of them are good but my personal fave is probably ALL STAR SUPERMAN
youtube
Lex Luthor finally finds a way to beat Superman, but Clark isn’t going down without a fight and without saving as many lives as he can. It’s a grand all star parade of all the wild and wacky pulp adventure camp that has built up around the legacy of the Last Son of Krypton. If you want a satisfying conclusion to Superman’s story then it’s hard to top this one. Heck the book is also pretty damn good too!
Tumblr media
There is... a LOT of Superman content. 80 years worth to be exact. This list is far from complete and is only meant to serve as a starting point for diving into all this Super Lore. I for one am glad My Adventures With Superman seems to have lit a fire under the fanbase and I’m happy to welcome all you new readers and watchers to one of my all time favorite Superheroes.  HONERABLE MENTIONS!
Tumblr media
SUPERMAN SMASHES THE KLAN! It’s exactly what the title says. Go read it! It’s inspired by the old school radio show (podcasts for your grandparents) that had REAL WORLD IMPACTS in the USA.
youtube
Finally, the 40′s Cartoons
youtube
These are a BIT dated and light on actual plot and character but there’s a retro charm to some of these.  Okay, That’s enough from me. What are YOUR top recommendations for new fans? Let me know in the reblogs!

this person is literally a fucking maniac I’m so sorry they did that shit to you??? It’s headcanons and you didn’t even mention anything remotely offensive or required whatever shit they were spitting. Fucking SUICIDE BAITING OVER WHAT?? Dios mío. (to get your mind off it if you would like, share with me your favourite punk percy headcanons)
RIGHT LIKE THAT NIGGA REALLY SHOWED ME NOOSE PICS OVER FUCKING PERCY JACKSON💀And said i was 'fetishizing' trans people as if i'm not trans myself and as if she's not a cis woman and probably straight too.Stop projecting come mierda♡
But tysm,i will and you choose a good time to ask because i've been finally continouing my punk history research!!
Always had the punk mindset as seen in canon since she's anti-authority,rebels against all corruption she sees and protects and is extremely loving towards younger minorities
But was too poor to afford the clothes and piercings and such.Didn't bother him though since he cared more about acting punk than looking it
Thalia was his first real experience with the subculture headon and that's why he admired and was lowkey jealous of her along with a bit of gender envy
Goes to protests and does charity work with Rachel
And she bought him a bunch of punk stuff(from punk bussiness ofc, otherwise what's the point)
Learned to diy so many things it's gonna be a running in my fics of her
Rrrrt girl and Mcr fan-Also not punk but loves Ice Spice and Megan Thee Stallion too ofc.Really likes Green Day too!!
The specific types of punk Percy is are afropunk(because i hc them as half afro-dominican and half black-greek),seapunk(NOT because of Poseidon but because of Sally)and either crustpunk or pastel punk depending on wether we're talking her as transfem bigender and a mix of masc and fem or her as a super femme trans woman. Not for gender roles reasons because that would be ridiculous but i think just that their lives would be significantly different so that leads to a few differences in their tastes
Persephone Amelia has comics!Starfire hair,Perseo Isadore has dreads
Straight edge
His autism definitely contributes to how he approches punkness
Their patches jacket has spikes and frills around the collar and the patches are the dominican and trans flags and a black mermaid to represent Sally,a skull and a yellow diamond to represent Nico and Hazel and he has a god handful of pins but his favorites are the Riptide one Lex made him and the cat one(Yes i'm including my Pjo self-insert in this because i couldn't help myself)
Goes on estrogen but only a light dosage and for a short time compared to full transitions and gets no surgeries.Wears makeup too and gets a tongue ring,an eyebrow piercing and forward helix on both ears
Radicalized Nico and Hazel, who are now goth punk and pastel goth punk
Exclusively buys video games and consoles secondhand because of being anti-capitalism
Killed Luke in TLO not only because of being the hero of the prophecy but also because no actual punk wouldn't unalive a fascist who's also a serial ped0phile the second they got the chance. He made sure it was extra painful too and even had Nico use his soul erasing power we saw in BOO on him
And eventually manages to kill Poseidon too-Idk about Perseo but Persephone exists in my Pjo x DC x Spiderverse crossover where she's got kryptonian heritage and i headcanon krytonians are on the same levels of gods in regards to power so that's how.Zeus is too scared of Percy afterwards to stop her from fixing the greek myths world system LMFAOOOOOO
And for a lil more Perlex because i am down horrendous, him and Lex punk4punk but Lex is pastel punk and solarpunk!!They go on punk themed dates like going to concerts in matching outfits and defacing public property together <3 Also Percy has the cocky flirt punk guy thing you usually see in male characters who are but it's a Lex exclusive

I loved Maggins Quora answers and how wholesome it was that redemption is always posible and that everybody in the canon of Superman had different religions and kinda got along despite it (plus I loved Superman being Jewish as Maggins and the original authors). But now Im kinda confused about Lex religion. In the current continuity is he supposed to be jewish or atheist or something else? I have not read any DC comic book since Forever Evil (tho I want to catch up with the lasts days of luthor) and I'm not too much into American supes to know how DC cannon realy works, asides the fact that there are like several authors and retcons, so I wanna really know what its the deal with lex religion. Sorry for sounding like if I have three braincells or I'm trying to offend Jewish or atheist people (I respect all faiths), I'm just very intrigued/confused. Also sorry for my ugly English I'm still trying to learn it ;_;
you’re good! the last time i can remember lex mentioning anything about religion was back in paul cornell’s action comics run, where lex self-identifies as an atheist. imo i don’t think anything from the last few decades has ever coded him as jewish.
pre-crisis on infinite earths, back in the silver/bronze age, lex’s character was fairly different than the lex in the comics now, though the lex in mark waid’s “the last days of lex luthor” is about as close to the bronze age lex luthor you’ll find in any modern comic book. originally he was a scientist, first and foremost. this is how elliot maggin wrote him, and is generally the era when you’ll see jewish coding applied to the character.
in 1987, after the crisis on infinite earths event, john byrne and marv wolfman rebooted superman and made a lot of changes to lex in particular, which was when he was reworked from a mad scientist to a corrupt billionaire ceo. john byrne’s luthor is a lot more overtly evil, and is primarily motivated by greed, compared to the silver/bronze age luthor, who more fueled by envy and insecurity.
i’m not sure if anyone in canon other than paul cornell ever referred to lex as an atheist in so many words post-crisis, but i would agree that is generally the vibe that most modern versions of lex give off. (paul cornell’s action comics specifically says that he is an atheist but still believes in hell, which to me very much implies he was raised christian.)
with the way that the character has evolved over the last few decades, i think making him textually jewish would probably read as playing into a lot of anti-semitic stereotypes, so it’s probably for the best it didn’t carry over into current continuity, but i do imagine it’s probably frustrating for maggin, given that, from what he’s said about him, he clearly put a lot of himself into his version of lex.
tl;dr: silver/bronze age lex was implied to be jewish, but in the modern comics he self-identifies as an atheist and was likely raised christian.

《 Chapter 11
》 Chapter 13
All chapters (Part 2) (Part 1)
Tumblr media
Explanation: Omega has fled from an unknown assailant and, now with the assistance of the Koriena Force, the Bad Batch must find her and get her back.
Tumblr media
The ladies of the Koriena Force ducked into another room of the Firestar estate where a large setup of computers Kimber recognized was set up. Irys went straight into the chair in front of the screens and everyone gathered around her. She tapped a few keys and the screens all started changing to different security cameras throughout the city. All of the ladies started carefully looking at each camera, their eyes peeled for Omega.
"There she is," stated Lex after a couple minutes, pointing at one of the screens.
All eyes shifted to where Lex was pointing and they did indeed see Omega running through a crowded street.
"It looks like she's down near the market," said Kida.
Suddenly, Omega skidded to a halt and made her way over to an opening in the ground.
"She's going into one of the maintenance tunnels," stated Irys, already pulling up schematics of the underground tunnel system.
"I think I see the woman who grabbed her," then said Rina, gesturing to something else on the camera.
They all looked and saw a tall woman dressed in black leather armor and wearing an orange helmet on her head, a long black braid flowing behind her. She was running the same direction as Omega and happened to stop and look at the tunnel entrance Omega had just slipped into.
"That outfit definitely screams bounty hunter," said Kida.
Kimber looked down at Irys and asked, "Can you find anything on that woman?"
However, she was surprised by Irys letting out a groan and saying, "Ugh, the one thing I can't get information on: bounty hunters."
"What? I thought you could get any information you want?" Kimber questioned.
"I can...unless it's anything involving the bounty hunters' guild," Irys replied. "Their files and information are locked down incredibly tight, even more so than the Empire's. I tried looking into them some time ago and my whole system nearly got fried by their anti-hacking protocols. You want information on a bounty hunter, then you need to be really lucky and know people who have inside informants in the guild."
That wasn't the answer Kimber was hoping for. "Blast it!" she cried, frustrated, and pounding her fist on the back of Irys's chair. Then she took out her comm and called Tech saying, "Tech, she's going down into the maintenance tunnels."
"Yes, we did see that. Wrecker is on his way there now," Tech replied to her.
“I recognize that tunnel entrance,” stated Kida. “It’s not that far from here. There’s another entryway to some connecting tunnels close by.” She pointed out the exact location on the schematics Irys had pulled up. “If you move fast, you might be able to intercept them.”
“Then let’s go,” Kimber stated. As Lex and Rina started for the front of the house, Kimber ordered Irys, “Irys, patch into my squad’s comm frequency. We’ve got both teams out looking for Omega and both you and Tech are going to need to keep us all informed. Coordinate with him, if you can.”
Irys simply gave an understanding nod in response.
As she went off to catch up with the other two at the speeder outside, Kimber spoke into her comm, “Lads, I’m with Lex and Rina. The tunnel entrance Omega went into is near our location and there’s another entrypoint to the tunnels close to the Firestar estate. We’re heading that way now. Tech, Irys is patching into our frequency. I need you to coordinate with her and make sure both squads out looking for Omega are kept informed.”
“Copy that, Kimber,” replied Tech.
The three ladies hopped into the speeder just as they heard Wrecker’s voice come through, “I’m with Omega. We’re on our way.”
“Way to go, big guy,” Rina commented aloud.
Kimber answered him, “We shouldn’t be too far from you, Wrecker. Keep going through the tunnels and we’ll come meet you.” As Lex urged the speeder forward and they zoomed down the street, Kimber turned to Rina in the back and told her, “Rina, you go down into the tunnels and find Wrecker. With your Force-sensitivity, you should have an easier time finding him.”
“You got it, boss lady,” Rina replied.
They continued further down the street for a couple minutes until Lex spotted the other maintenance tunnel entrance Kida had pointed out. They pulled up alongside the entrance and then Kimber and Rina hopped out to get the covering off.
Hunter’s voice came through on the comm, “Wrecker, where are you? Wrecker, do you copy?”
The ladies looked down into the tunnel and couldn’t see or hear any sign of Wrecker.
“I can’t sense him close by. I think something went wrong,” Rina commented.
“Get down there quick and find him,” Kimber told her.
With a nod, Rina jumped down into the tunnel.
"I do not see Wrecker, but Omega is hanging from a maintenance tower in the skyway," they then heard Tech say on the commlink.
“Hanging?!” Kimber repeated aloud, looking wide-eyed at Lex.
“Hanging?” they also heard Hunter repeat in disbelief on the comm.
"For now. I suggest you hurry," said Tech.
Then Kimber got on the comm and said, “Rina’s gone down into the tunnels to find Wrecker.”
After that, they heard Irys come through, saying, “With the commotion you caused, Sarge, you’re going to have the Pantoran police on your tail.”
Then Tech replied, “That will certainly be an inconvenience.”
“We can handle that,” said Lex to Kimber confidently.
Kimber repeated into the comm, “Lex and I will take care of the police. Hunter, you keep after Omega.”
"Irys, track the police force’s movements so Kimber and Lex know where to intercept them. I’ll continue monitoring the security cameras in Omega’s location for Hunter. He's commandeered a speederbike and is in pursuit," they heard Tech say.
"Roger that, hotshot," Irys’ voice responded.
Kimber and Lex both couldn’t help but snicker. They could picture Tech probably rolling his eyes right now at Irys’ comment.
“Hop in, princess! We got some police to stall,” called Lex, revving up the speeder.
Not needing to be told twice, Kimber jumped into the passenger’s side of the speeder and the two of them sped off, ready to catch the police before they could catch Hunter.
Tumblr media
Down in the maintenance tunnels, Rina was carefully making her way through the tunnel system, reaching out through the Force for any sign of Wrecker. He was still down there, she could feel it. Though, his presence was weak. Something had happened to him and her heart was racing rapidly. Had the bounty hunter gotten to him or had something else happened? Soon, she came around the corner and spotted Wrecker lying face down on the ground, white smoke emitting from a pipe above him.
“Wrecker!” she cried out in a panic, dashing to his side right away. She fell to her knees and started lightly shaking him. “Hey, big guy, wake up! Can you hear me? Come on!” Worry and concern were overtaking her quicker than she imagined it would. He wasn’t responding and she felt uncertain on what to do, which was a first. What had happened to him?
"Come on, Wrecker, don’t leave me now. Not like this," she pleaded in her mind as she kept trying to get him up.
Finally, Wrecker’s eyes snapped open and he groaned, bringing a hand up to his head. A quiet gasp of relief escaped Rina’s mouth at seeing Wrecker was okay.
He sat up and realized she was kneeling beside him. “Rina? What are you doing down here?”
“You never showed, so Boss Lady sent me down here to rescue you,” she replied, switching back to her normal, cocky self.
He chuckled. “I feel safer already,” he declared.
Rina’s face went warm pretty quickly.
Then Wrecker got a serious look on his face. “I gotta find Omega,” he told her urgently as he swiftly got up to his feet.
Following his example, Rina got to her feet and explained, “Sarge is already on the move. I overheard Tech tell him where she is when I came down here. What happened, by the way?”
He told her, “I found Omega and just as we were coming back, that woman chasing her appeared. I told Omega to head to the ship, went to attack the woman and she threw me into the wall, knocking me out.”
Rina’s fists clenched at her sides as she made a mental note in that moment to cave that woman’s face in if they ever came face to face.
“Let’s get you back to the Marauder,” she said afterwards. She turned around to begin walking, but then whipped back and punched Wrecker hard in the arm.
“Ow!” he bellowed, grabbing his arm where she hit it. “What the heck was that for?”
Standing her ground, she told him sternly, “Don’t ever scare me like that again, big guy! You hear me?”
He stared at her wide-eyed for a brief moment and then his expression softened. “Were you worried about me?” he inquired.
With her ears burning, Rina looked down and stammered, “Uh…well…n--no, I was just…I thought….” Then she groaned in exasperation. “Okay, yes, I was worried! You happy?”
“Yeah, I am. It’s cute that you care,” he said back, suddenly grasping her head in his hands, bending over and kissing the top of her head.
She waved her hands around, lightly pushing him away and stating in response, “Well, of course, I do…now, stop that and let’s get out of here.” With that, she turned on her heel and began jogging back down the tunnel, Wrecker following close behind her.
“Kimber, I’ve got Wrecker. Let the genius know we’re on our way back,” she informed Kimber over her comm as they ran.
“Roger that. I’ll let Tech know,” Kimber replied.
They got back to the tunnel entrance Rina had come in through and climbed back out that way. Once again feeling through the Force, she was able to pinpoint where the Marauder was in the spaceport, having still not gotten quite familiar with the city yet and still learning her way around. Once she knew where to go, she and Wrecker took off. They maneuvered through the streets as fast as they could to get back to the spaceport, but Wrecker was getting tired quicker than normal. It was probably from the blow he took to the head, Rina suspected.
“Come on, Wrecker, you can do this. Keep going,” she encouraged him as he stopped to catch his breath.
Though, just after they stopped, they could hear the wailing of sirens approaching and two police speeders zoomed by them.
Wrecker groaned and cried out in annoyance, “I’m missing all the action!”
Rina suspected the police were most likely heading to wherever Hunter and the bounty hunter were and knew they were only just going to get in the way of getting Omega back. There was one more police speeder coming their way and she thought of an idea: one that would both help stall the police so Hunter could do his thing and to give Wrecker a little bit of entertainment.
She pulled her rope dart out and let it slip down her hand slightly. “You want action? I’ll give you some action, big guy,” she told Wrecker though keeping her eyes on the incoming police vehicle.
As it flew by them, she threw her rope dart at the back of the speeder and it wrapped around a part of the back. Once she saw it secure, she gave a hard pull on the rope, causing the speeder to jolt backwards and the police officer went flying off of it. The speeder spun out of control and made contact with the side of a building, exploding on impact.
“Oh yeah!” Wrecker cheered through a hearty, satisfied cackle. Then he thought to himself, awestruck, as she turned around, her proud face and petite figure illuminated by the orange glow of the explosion and the flames behind her, "What a woman!"
With a nonchalant shrug of a shoulder, she just said to him, “No need to thank me.”
The distant wailing of the sirens started growing louder as they both turned back and saw the other officers were turning around and speeding back in their direction to investigate the explosion.
“That’s our cue to leg it, big guy,” Rina declared, rolling up her rope dart.
“You can say that again,” Wrecker replied.
With that, the two of them took off and resumed their way back to the Marauder.
Tumblr media
“So how exactly do you plan on stalling the police?” Kimber asked Lex as they were speeding through the air over the streets of the city.
As Lex steered the speeder around other transports whizzing past them, she answered, "I’ve got some smoke bombs under the backseat. We can use those to deter them for the time being."
"Got it!" said Kimber. Then she climbed into the back and pulled out a storage compartment underneath the back seat. Sure enough, there were a few smoke bombs and other artillery hidden in there. Why was she not surprised?
As she pulled out a couple of the bombs, her commlink beeped and Kida's voice came through, "Look alive, ladies. Sergeant Hunter, coming up on your left."
Kimber shot up and both her and Lex looked left just in time to see Hunter zoom by them on a speederbike, just like Tech had said.
“I see them!” then cried Lex, pointing ahead of them.
Looking in the direction Lex was pointing, Kimber saw the skyway up ahead and there was Omega hanging over the edge up top, being held by the woman that had been chasing her. Then seconds later, Omega suddenly dropped and was falling.
“No!” Kimber cried out in terror.
“It’s okay, she landed on a delivery transport, but the bounty hunter’s down there with her,” Lex told her as she veered the speeder to shadow Hunter from a distance.
“The police are coming up on your six,” they heard Irys inform them.
Kimber looked back to see the flashing lights of the police speeders coming up behind them. Right then, she heard blaster fire up ahead and realized the woman with Omega was shooting at Hunter. He was avoiding the shots just fine and Kimber knew in order to help him, she had to make sure the police stayed away from him.
“Releasing the smoke bombs,” Kimber announced as she activated one of the bombs and threw it towards the police. It went off and a large cloud of gray smoke appeared in front of them. However, they just continued right on through it. She then threw a second one that detonated in their path yet they still continued their pursuit. After releasing one more that proved ineffective, she figured the smoke bombs weren’t going to help.
“Blast it all!” she exclaimed, withdrawing her blaster. Instead, she shot at the front of their speeders, knowing if she hit certain spots, the speeders wouldn’t outright explode, but would be damaged enough to stop them. She fired two shots at each one and all the speeders began hurtling towards the ground. All the officers, at least, were able to jump off in time and survive before the speeders crashed.
Just as she turned back, Lex called out, “The bounty hunter fell off the supply transport, but Omega’s dangling on one of the ropes. Looks like Hunter’s got her.”
Kimber watched ahead as Omega was hanging on for dear life off one of the straps in the back of the transport. Hunter was coming up on her, his arm outstretched to catch her. All of a sudden, another speeder came up from below right behind him and, to Kimber’s horror, crashed into him and sent him and his speeder flying off over some of the buildings, disappearing from view.
“Hunter!” she shouted.
“Karabast, this woman is relentless!” shouted Lex, making Kimber notice that it was the bounty hunter driving the speeder that had crashed into Hunter.
“She’s not going to get away with this,” Kimber thought to herself. Then she ordered Lex, “Get us on top of that speeder. I’m going after her.”
In acknowledgement, Lex increased speed and they sped even faster on the tail of the bounty hunter’s speeder. They heard more police following them, but before Kimber and Lex could do anything, the bounty hunter put her speeder onto autopilot and shot at the officers, killing one of them and causing their speeder to crash into the other one. Just as that happened, Lex got the speeder right beside the bounty hunter’s. With an angry grunt, Kimber leapt from her speeder to the other one, tumbling into the bounty hunter.
“You picked the wrong squad to mess with!” Kimber exclaimed as she went to grab the controls.
“I won’t have you and your Clones messing up my score,” the bounty hunter warned her in a deep, authoritative voice as she bolted upright and put her arm around Kimber’s neck, yanking her back.
Kimber threw her elbow back into the woman’s helmet, disorienting her enough to make her slacken her hold, before whipping around and grabbing the woman’s shoulders, forcing her towards the edge of the speeder. However, the woman brought her leg up and kicked Kimber in the stomach, sending her sprawling backwards. Kimber’s back hit the edge of the seat and she flipped over it, rolling down the back of the large transport. Luckily for her, her hand found purchase on one of the ridges of the speeder and she held on tight to keep from falling off into the busy streets. When she raised her head and pulled herself up, she observed that the speeder was getting close to Omega, who was still hanging from the other transport.
She heard a familiar voice call out her name and when she looked, she saw Hunter coming up once again on his speederbike behind them. A wave of relief swept over her at seeing he was all right.
“Jump!” he shouted, pulling out his blaster and firing at the thrusters of the speeder.
Just as the first shot made contact and damaged one of the thrusters, the speeder jolted, causing Kimber to lose her balance and drop to a knee. Right then, Lex pulled up right next to her in her speeder.
“Come on!” Lex called out to her.
Seeing it was now time to retreat, Kimber got to her feet, ran to the edge and leapt towards the backseat of Lex’s speeder, landing on the seat and falling onto her side. Right away, she bolted upright and climbed into the passenger seat to watch what was unfolding in front of them. Hunter managed to damage the other rear thruster of the bounty hunter’s transport enough to where it slowed down and was losing momentum. Just as that happened, Omega’s grip on the rope was lost and she began to fall. Before Kimber could panic again, Hunter sped down towards her and managed to catch her by the hand before she could hit the ground. Kimber released a loud sigh of reprieve.
“He got her…oh, thank the stars!” she stated.
All of a sudden, she and Lex watched as Hunter’s speederbike sped in reverse past the bounty hunter’s transport and Hunter threw what appeared to be a pyro denton explosive at it. It made contact with the speeder and within seconds, exploded, but not before the bounty hunter saw it and managed to jump off just as the transport crashed to the ground.
As they saw Hunter fly past them in the opposite direction, Lex commented to Kimber with a pleased smirk, turning the speeder around to follow after him, “I always knew I liked him. You got a good one there, Kimber.”
Smiling pleasantly, Kimber replied, “Yeah, I really do.”
“You got the kid?” they heard Rina ask over the comms.
Kimber took out her commlink and spoke into it, informing everyone, “Yes, Hunter has Omega. The woman has been temporarily grounded, but I don’t know for how long. We’ll rendezvous back at the Marauder.”
“The ship’s been reassembled and is ready for launch. Awaiting your arrival,” she heard Echo respond.
Then she said, feeling guilty and her voice low, “Koriena Force…after everything that’s happened, the boys and I are going to have to bolt pretty quickly. I’m sorry we barely had any time.”
“Don’t worry, we understand,” answered Kida. “It was good to see you, even if it was brief.”
“You haven’t seen the last of us yet, boss lady. We’ll meet up again soon,” Rina added. “Just remember to let us know where you land this time.”
Grinning, Kimber replied, “I will. Thank you all for your help.”
Then Irys replied, “It was our pleasure. Safe travels.”
Kimber pocketed her commlink just as she saw Hunter pull over to the side of the airway up ahead and stop. Lex noticed this, too, and slowed their speeder down, coming to a stop beside Hunter.
Gesturing for her to come over, Hunter told Kimber, “We’ve gotta go, love. Hop on.”
She gave him a nod and then turned to Lex, putting a hand on her shoulder. “Thanks for the ride, Lex. Head back to Kida's and make sure the girls are okay.”
“I will. Though, I get the feeling, given the part we played in this, we won’t be staying here much longer,” said Lex.
“Whatever happens, stay safe,” Kimber told her.
Lex reached up and grasped Kimber’s hand on her shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze. “You better get going.”
Kimber turned back around to face Hunter, stealing a brief look at Omega seated in front of him. It relieved her to see that the kid was okay and didn’t appear to be hurt. Hunter reached out a hand to Kimber, which she took, and helped her keep her balance as she stepped off the speeder and onto the speederbike behind him. She sat down carefully and inched up as close to him as she could, putting her arms around his waist and nestling her face briefly into his back as if for a quick respite after everything that had happened.
Once Kimber was secure, Hunter revved up the speederbike and said, “Thank you, Lex.”
She gave him a two-fingered salute and said back, “No problem, Hunter.”
After that, now with the kid back in his care and his sweetheart along with him, the Sergeant pushed forward on the handlebars and sped off down the way to get back to their ship.
Before long, they could see the port which the Marauder was docked in and Hunter flew into the docking port, coming around by the entrance of the ship, where Tech was standing outside waiting.
“We need to go. Now,” Hunter said to Tech immediately.
Then Tech spoke into his comm as he, Hunter and Omega moved to go back into the ship, “Wrecker, pick up the pace. We don’t have all day.”
“I’m here!” they heard Wrecker cry out from the entrance to the docking bay as he came running in, stopping to take a breath, with Rina beside him.
Kimber stayed outside on the ramp to make sure Wrecker got on board.
“You gotta go, big guy,” Rina told Wrecker and, deciding to give him a hand and speed things up, she thrust out her hand in front of her and used the Force to push Wrecker through the air towards the Marauder, completely startling him as he cried out in alarm at suddenly flying towards the ship.
On the ramp, Kimber was also a little shocked to see Wrecker come suddenly hurtling towards her, but he landed right at the foot of the ramp, his eyes wide with slight panic. She stole a look back at Rina, who gave her a farewell salute, and she returned the gesture in kind.
Once Wrecker got over his initial shock from being Force-pushed, he straightened up, turned back and waved goodbye to Rina. She gave him a wave back and then he and Kimber ran onto the ship just as it was powering up to leave.
Rina stood in place and watched the ship lift off from the ground into the air. “May the Force be with you, Bad Batch,” she said quietly to herself before turning on her heel and running.
Tumblr media
As the Marauder fled Pantora and escaped far enough into the void of space, Hunter said to the others about the woman as Tech stopped the ship, “She has to be a bounty hunter.”
“The girls had the same assumption,” Kimber added, moving next to the chair Hunter was about to sit in.
“A what?” asked Omega as Hunter sat down in a seat by where she stood.
Echo explained to the kid, “Someone hired to retrieve targets.”
“And you appear to be the target,” Tech added.
A look of fear crossed Omega’s face. “Me?” she repeated.
“Hey, don’t scare the kid,” Wrecker warned the others, now getting concerned for Omega.
“We have to find out who she is and who hired her,” Hunter said to everyone.
Poor Omega stood between everyone with fear and almost guilt in her eyes as the Bad Batch all looked at her.
Kimber hated seeing the girl look so afraid, so she stepped forward, got down on one knee in front of her and laid her hands on her shoulders. “Don’t you worry, Omega. We may not know what’s going on, but we’re going to keep you safe. We’ll figure all this out, okay?”
Omega took a deep yet slightly shaky breath and exhaled slowly, trying to calm herself down. “Okay,” she said with a nod.
“Yeah, no bounty hunter’s gonna get you on our watch,” added Wrecker.
“Come on, let’s get you to bed. You need rest,” Kimber urged her.
Omega agreed and Kimber stood up, giving her a light touch on the back as they walked to the gunner’s mount at the back of the ship. Omega climbed up into the little nook and Kimber followed after her, sitting herself on the edge at the top of the ladder.
As she nestled into the corner with Lula, Omega asked Kimber, “What’s going to happen to me, Kimber…if the bounty hunter gets me?”
“We’re not going to find out because that’s never going to happen,” Kimber answered steadfastly. “The boys and I are going to figure this out and we’re going to protect you, you understand?”
Even though she nodded, Omega went on to say sadly, “I’m sorry I ran off and almost got taken.”
“You have nothing to be sorry for,” Kimber assured her. “You didn’t do anything wrong. It was just an unfortunate turn of events, but it all turned out okay. We got you back and you’re safe.”
“What about your friends?” asked Omega.
“Oh, don’t worry, those girls are fierce. They’ll be just fine. They can handle themselves,” said Kimber. She reached forward and ran a hand over Omega’s hair. “Lay your head down and rest. You’ve had quite the day.”
Omega gave her a nod, laid her head down and closed her eyes. With that, Kimber went back down the ladder and then closed the curtain in front of the gunner’s mount to give Omega some privacy.
“She okay?” she heard Hunter ask behind her as he approached.
“Just shaken up a bit, but she’ll be okay. Some rest should do her good,” she answered him. Then she reached up and laid her hands on his cheeks. “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” he said, his hands finding rest on her waist. “That woman was tough, I’ll admit, but I got through it.”
“Good,” she replied, lowering her hands to his chest.
He pulled her closer. “With this bounty hunter after Omega, it looks like we’ve got even more of a tough road ahead of us if we’re going to learn who she was.”
“We do, but it’s nothing we can’t handle,” she said to him. “We’ll keep Omega safe and we’ll figure everything out no matter what it takes. It’s what we do, after all.”
Hunter snickered and replied, “Spoken like the true Bad Batcher you are.”

I don't mean this is a rude way, but didn't Matt basically admit to covering up the assault ? Why would you support him after that ? /genq esp with all of lex's evidence
In his apology video he states he never tried to cover up the assault but it also wasn’t his experience to really bring to light. He didn’t want to say anything about it until Lex did, and wasn’t going to force her to come out and say it publicly. So ties were cut behind curtains. If you haven’t seen his video, I recommend watching it with a neutral view.
And to answer your other asks, I’m anti-Leighton. I believe Lex was sexually assaulted as a victim of SA myself. I believe SuperMega could have handled it better, but they were looking for guidance on how to help since they had never been in a situation like this before and they didn’t really get any.
I believe Leighton takes advantage of people in emotionally and mentally vulnerable states to push his agenda and it makes me fucking sick, especially knowing how he treated my close friends (I will not elaborate on that because their experiences are not mine to tell and I respect that) when they were in similar mental states.
At the end of the day, everyone is human. Humans make mistakes- and it’s in our nature to learn from those mistakes.

It is interesting that Lex Luther treats Conner like an employee despite enslaving him. He seems a lot more hands off then the other Light “mentors”. I’ve wondered what it means but I’m leaning towards Lex feels he owns his employees 😬
I mean we've touched on a few pieces here so I'll just skip to the end piece which is oh absolutely for sure Lex feels like he owns his employees.
I don't know the history myself but if you ask me it seems a lot like DC writers just kinda sat in a room and said 'we need a villain for Superman and they all said in unison 'capitalism' then nodded to each other very pleased for this decision and went to get coffee. I could be wrong but like. Who cares this is obviously the best origin story.
Luthor does everything with the motivation of how much more power he can get and he equates money with power. That's half the problem with Superman's existence is that he is not a symbol of power associated with money. There is no amount of money that beats Superman. There is just things he can do because he has money. But furthermore he can't buy Superman. And Superman himself is not motivated by power and money which makes Luthor even more antsy because he doesn't understand him.
The enemy of capitalism is people who don't care about/don't need money. And thats why Luthor and Clark are the dichotomy that they are.
Anyway, that aside. Luthor is a capitalist. Big daddy capitalism. Monopoly man but worse.
His employees are assets to him. This is absolutely the kind of guy who pays minimum wage and refuses to give you a more flexible work schedule so you can't get a second job to make up for your abysmal salary. This is the guy that says no to healthcare, maternity leave, dental because it'd 'cost too much' (false). This is the guy who forces all staff to use lexcorp branded stationery and equipment but doesn't supply it for free and instead takes it out of the employee's salary. This is that guy.
Do I have the basis in canon for this? No. Do I care? Still no. Because to me this is a fundamental part of Luthor's character. He can't be so blatantly anti-superman and also a good guy. One, because this is a type of fiction where good guy protagonist (Superman) is the moral back bone of the story and his trials and tribulations are an exploration of morality and ethics, because he's so overpowered it can't really be anything else. This is a character who's story is a metaphor for Jewish immigrants after the second world war. There is no way for these pieces to coalesce and allow for Luthor to be a good man. Not only because there are no ethical billionaires, but because he is actively a xenophobic man at the top of a capitalistic ladder stood atop bodies of the poor.
Ahem. Anyway whoops I kinda got a bit political there whoops. I didn't realise I had this many opinions on Lex Luthor. Wild.

Taxes, Taxes, Taxes-Chapter 24
Fandom: Supergirl
Characters: Kara Danvers, Clark Kent, Samantha Arias, Lena Luthor, Lillian Luthor, Ruby Arias, Oliver Queen, John Stewart, Diana Prince, Bruce Wayne, Barry Allen, J'onn J'onnz, Alfred Pennyworth, Lois Lane, Cat Grant, Lucy Lane, Damian Wayne, Felicity Smoak, Streaky the Supercat, Martha Kent, Selina Kyle, Talia Al Ghul, Lucius Fox, Maggie Sawyer, Alex Danvers, Jason Todd, Otis Graves, Lex Luthor
Summary: What if superheroes had to pay a property damage tax every time they had a fight in the city?
Lillian sighed as she watched the clock at Noonan’s gradually tick away the time. She felt a sudden squeeze of her hand. She looked to the seat next to her at the restaurant to see Martha smiling back at her.
“Everything is going to be okay. The worst that can happen is that Amanda won’t tell us anything and send us on our way.”
Lillian gave her a soft smile. She reached down and kissed Martha’s hand and said, “I’m more concerned that she will rat us out to Lex more so anything else.”
Martha raised an eyebrow and asked, “Is that why you suggested meeting at Noonan’s instead of the office?”
Lillian sighed and said, “Lex is lax with watching over me, but you can never be too careful. Both Amanda and I frequent this restaurant enough that it wouldn’t be unusual for us to bump into each other and have a few words.”
Martha looked at Lillian baffled and asked, “Wait? You guys see each other here often?”
Lillian leaned back in her chair and said, “Yes. Amanda and I are usually around here late morning or early afternoon. However, we tend to avoid each other.” Lillian shook her head and sighed. She continued, “Amanda and I used to be best friends in college. We came up with the idea of Cadmus during our senior year as a capstone project. We thought that there should not only be an organization that studies the extraterrestrial lifeforms that were already on Earth but also learn how to coexist with each other. I focused more on the business side of things whereas Amanda worked towards networking and getting funding. Everything went well until Zod came into the picture several years ago.”
Martha winced and said, “I hate that name with a passion.”
“You are not alone in that sentiment. It reshaped Amanda’s perception of aliens as a whole. She viewed every one of them as a threat and that they needed to be removed from Earth. Lex provided her with options to achieve that and in return, she provided him funding to support his research efforts on the subject. I objected to all of this, but she still pushed me out. Fortunately, enough people from Cadmus didn’t like Amanda’s new direction and decided to come with me as I formed my own company.”
“If you think she has so much hatred against aliens, why do you think she would talk to us.”
Lillian leaned her head back and stared up at the ceiling thoughtfully.
“There have been rumors of Leviathan changing direction for a while now. They have always been anti-alien, but their choices in political candidates have been interesting to say to least.”
Martha looked at her quizzically and asked, “How so?”
“Well, the candidates they have supported so far are pro-alien rights and making reforms to help aliens become citizens. It is a complete 180. Lex wasn’t willing to cooperate with their changes so he was cut off. Amanda has used funding from Leviathan in the past. I am curious to see if she followed the road Lex took in regards to them, or if she fell in line to their new policy. If she did, we may be able to get something out of her.”
Martha nodded and said, “I like that particular theory. Hopefully, it doesn’t take that long to get information out of her. I have so much to do to prepare for tonight.”
Lillian smirked and asked, “Worried about meeting the children I see?”
Martha pouted which caused Lillian to smile. She loved teasing Martha just a tiny bit.
Lillian caressed Martha’s face and said, “You don’t have to worry. Sam, Lena, and Ruby will adore you as much as I do.”
Martha looked down while twiddling her thumbs and said, “Well, Lena has kind of avoided me with everything with Clark. I just worried that she might…”
Lillian kissed Martha’s hand which caused her to blush.
“Lena is more than okay with everything. All three girls are happy that I have put myself back out there.”
Martha smiled and said, “Still, I want to make a good impression and make sure that everything goes smoothly.”
Lillian smiled and said, “It will darling. I am just as eager to meet Kara. I have never seen Lena this happy before. It is like she is floating on cloud nine everyday.”
Martha chuckled and said, “I am not surprised. Kara is a bundle of sunshine that will brighten anyone’s day. I just wished that some of that would rub off on Clark. He used to be so optimistic, but now….”
Lillian squeezed Martha’s hand and said, “Hopefully this stuff with Lex will give us insight into Clark. I don’t have any proof, but I am willing to bet money that Lex has something to do with Clark’s behavioral changes.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he did,” said a woman’s voice.
Lillian and Martha nearly jumped out of their seats. They turned to see a black woman of medium build and short black hair staring at them. She had on a blue business suit. Lillian quickly change her expression to surprise to passive.
The woman smirked and said, “You are losing your touch Lillian. It is nice to see that I can still take you by surprise.”
The woman pulled up a chair and sat down with them.
Lillian sighed and said, “It is nice to see you too, Amanda.”
Amanda smirked while she turned towards Martha and said, “I am assuming that since you brought Superman’s mother that you are wondering about if Lex had anything in store for him.”
Martha looked at her startled and asked, “How….”
Amanda chuckled and said, “Lex wasn’t very subtle about his infatuation with your son.”
Martha glared at the woman while gripping the table until her knuckles went white.
Martha growled, “Yet you help a mad man hurt my son over and over again.”
Amanda sighed  while leaning back in her chair and said, “Would you believe me if I told you it was never my attention that he got hurt?”
Martha scoffed and said, “Don’t insult my intelligence.”
Amanda chuckled and said, “Well, I did want your son neutralized after the events with Zod.”
Martha winced at that statement.
Amanda sighed and said, “And before you say anything, I realized that your son was being controlled by Zod. However, that fight between them caused over 200 people to die. Most had the nuance of separating Superman from that. He was drugged after all. However, your son isn’t normal. What if he is drugged or mind controlled again? Who is there to stop him. The Justice League was barely able to contain him the last time. We need measures in place for if that were to occur.”
