some of my eddie munson headcanons

1. loves liquorice.

i know a lot of you guys probably HATE liquorice, but something about him screams ‘i am a liquorice lover and proud of it!!’. and he doesn’t like the strawberry kind.

2. races to press the button in the elevator

“MOVE OUT OF THE WAY, YOU LITTLE SHIT!” “EDDIE, IT’S MY TURN!”

3. was rlly short before he hit puberty

eddie has obviously been subjected to a hell of a lot of bullying over the years, and just to add to that pile of angst, we have the idea of short eddie. gareth went through the same thing, except he didn’t grow as much. “how’s the weather down there, munson?” “fuck off, tommy.”

4. he’s either really hot or really cold

he’s wearing 3 layers half the time, and as little clothing as he can the other half. freezes during winter and sweats his ass off during the summer.

5. gets sensitive teeth

this is because he’s made himself eat a basket worth of lemons just to brag about it later on multiple occasions

6. enjoys watching b movies

those shitty low budget films? oh, yeah. eddie loves them. for one reason; he cackles the whole time over how crap they are. a great pick-me-up.

7. chews on things when he spaces out

the inside of his cheek, his lip, a pencil, and you can’t forget that one time he chewed on a pen for so long that all the ink spilled into his mouth and he was gagging in the middle of class

8. had a major crush on princess daphne from dragon’s lair

definitely fought over her with his friends. he was incredibly jealous of dirk the daring.

9. doesn’t like trying new foods

he’s attached to foods from when he was a kid (macaroni and cheese, cereal, mini pizzas, grilled cheese, and dishes from his mum) and refuses to branch out - unless you ask him to

he wants to keep his ‘scary ‘music’ reputation, but it’s hard to do that when robin finds eddie’s abba and wham! tapes tucked away in his room

he also doesn’t mind the country music wayne forced onto him when he was younger

when he’s talking to you over the phone, you swear you can picture him clear as day; big sly grin plastered on his face, and his ringed finger wiring around the phone cord connected to the wall

but only in the school bathroom cubicles and the hideout bathroom cubicles. occasionally you’ll go to one of his gigs, and then you’ll go to the toilet and there’ll be little drawings on the wall. a guitar, eddie the head, and the occasional shameless penis

13. used to ride bikes everywhere

USED to because he fell over while riding it when he was 9 and scraped his knee and declared he would never ride a bicycle again (thought that declaration broke in 1986)

14. loves roller coasters

specifically ones that take pictures of you - he loves to act all calm and collected while everyone else is screaming their heads off

“Joker Out about success, Let 3 and the Eurovision Song Contest: We are big fans of kitsch!”

Interviewed by Matej Ivušić.

We talked to Slovenian rock 'n' roll sensation Joker Out, the young men who, after a successful performance at Eurovision, sold out Tvornica kulture twice in a few hours, where they will perform in mid-November

Joker Out is the newest sensation of Slovenian, regional and European rock 'n' roll, the result of a very successful performance at this year's Eurovision. They got together in 2016 in Ljubljana, and they have two albums. The band members are Nace Jordan, Bojan Cvjetićanin, Kris Guštin, Jure Maček, and Jan Peteh. They stopped in Zagreb on their way to Belgrade to, among other things, satisfy the media's hunger for interviews as well as to get to know Tvornica kulture, a venue they sold out twice in just a few hours and where they will have two concerts in November. The line for the interview was long, so it's no wonder that everything was a bit late. While we were waiting, their PR Gregor Zalokar kept us company, and he revealed in a pleasant conversation that the boys would perform as an opening act for the renowned band Franz Ferdinand at this year's Špancirfest. What we experienced for the first time was that the interview was interrupted at one point for the boys to sign a bill from the mother of one Ivana, and she will surely remember that day. Although mainly Bojan was giving the answers, everyone wanted to be present during the interview, thus making the atmosphere exceptionally relaxed and cheerful. We mostly talked about their meteoric rise, performance at Eurovision, collaboration with the legendary Elvis Costello, and their plans.

How does it feel selling out two Tvornica kulture in such a short period of time?

Before the concert at Šalata with the group Buč Kesidi, we thought we could count on a solo concert of 250-300 people in Croatia. After that concert, we started thinking about selling out one Tvornica by November. The day before the announcement of Tvornica, we were in agony, skeptical - it is a large space, after all. What happened is unreal. It's incredible that we are in Tvornica for the first time today and we managed to sell it out. It reminds us of Kino Šiška in Ljubljana, that's the vibe. It's bizarre that we released a concert for November that sold out after five hours, and we thought - it's a shame that it's not this Friday!

Although you sing in Slovenian, it is not an obstacle in the region. People see you as their own. Have you considered switching to English, or will you stay with Slovenian?

We will, absolutely, work in multiple languages. Most of the songs on the third album will probably be in English, but I can't say for sure. We will most certainly work in English, Slovenian, and Serbo-Croatian. We are even considering some Spanish and French options. We don't want language to be a limitation for us. It even seems that this experimentation with languages will open new doors to us, which we don't expect, and draw creativity in a different direction. If Enrique Iglesias comes, I think they understand him just as much as us in Slovenian, maybe even less, and that has never been a problem. We don't know why Slovenian would be a problem. If you look at Måneskin, they do it – a little bit in Italian, a little bit in English.

And what kind of music did you listen to growing up?

Basically, it was rock 'n' roll, different types of rock 'n' roll. Kris mostly listened to The Beatles and Brit-rock music, Nace mainly Fleetwood Mac, some Pink Floyd, and hip-hop. Jure is a big fan of Dire Straits and Parni Valjak.

Parni Valjak?

We are all big fans of Parni Valjak! We even went to the last concert they had in Slovenia. It was great. We also listened a lot to Slovenian music, Slovenian rock music like Siddharta. A great role model is ex-Yu rock and ABBA later on.

I have a related question - how do you view the legacy of the Yugoslav New Wave? Is it the best music from around here?

Bojan: It would be enough for me to listen to the music that has been created on the territory of the former Yugoslavia for the rest of my life. What would shagadelic rock 'n' roll be? I know it has something to do with Austin Powers, but can you elaborate a bit?

We were part of the biggest band competition in Slovenia and, purely for fun, to stand out, we said that the genre we play is shagadelic rock 'n' roll. Now we see that it applies to the sincere, joyous feeling we have on stage, which translates very well to the audience. When asked why it is, it is because it is honest. People feel friendship, they feel happiness, which is a natural thing for them. It became clear at our concerts, especially now that we are playing outside of Slovenia.

Why did you decide to perform at Eurovision? That competition is usually, at least from the perspective of people who play rock 'n' roll, looked down upon - it's a parade of kitsch...

We are big fans of Eurovision and kitsch! We think it is positive that we are not a rock band, but a rock 'n' roll band, a shagadelic rock 'n' roll band. That means that we are not ready to accept established frameworks. The result we are experiencing now is the result of always saying 'no' to those frames. We certainly play pop-rock and mainstream music, but there is more hidden inside than the surface - that's why it was successful. Eurovision was a wonderful mini-experiment, a chapter in our book that we really wanted to experience once in our lives. We are happy that we got to experience it this year, as if everything is happening at the right moment. Anyone who says they don't want to go to Eurovision wants to go to Eurovision but will never be there.

How was it to you?

Terrible! It was a great experience, not only in Liverpool but also at all the pre-parties in Europe. We were in Barcelona, Madrid, Warsaw, Tel Aviv, Amsterdam, and London. We met all the representatives of other countries. We are even performing with the representatives of Ireland. We had two concerts in Dublin and now have a British tour. Many doors are opening for us. It was stressful, but also a wonderful experience, which we will remember for the rest of our lives.

How did you like the performance of the Croatian representative?

They were great! They hit everything from start to finish. The song speaks for itself, but visually it was one of the strongest performances. As people, they left a good and positive impression on us. We spent a lot of time with them, they were very warm and accepted us very nicely. We are proud of that. It is a band with a long history, after all.

Yes!

We were collectively on a safari. A lion attacked a neighbouring truck, attacked Elvis. We jumped off the truck and caught the lion. We held him long enough for Elvis to run back to the truck. After that, he had huge scratches on his legs and arms. To calm him down, we gave him headphones with our album. The song 'Novi Val' calmed him down so much that he wanted to write lyrics in English. When he was in the hospital, we held his hand while he received the antibiotic, and we sang together. It came to the point that it had to be a collaboration.

Did you make this up right now, or is it a story you usually tell?

It's not a story. It happened. It's true.

As young people, do you follow the most popular genre at the moment – trap?

If you want to follow the music scene in the Balkans, you have to follow trap. We don't listen to it, but we have a lot of friends who listen to Voyage, for example. We'll probably start hanging out with these artists soon, performing together, which seems fun. We got introduced to z++ at Šalata. He is the only trap artist who is pop enough to be great to listen to. We were starstruck. We hope that there will be more such opportunities in the future. In the club, that is fine too, but in the general spirit it may be a sign that something is wrong with society, purely because of the message, not because of the music. The theme is usually pure hedonism that is not based on reality. There is a lot of crime, which might be reflected in society. Maybe we need more songs about love, even if it's an unhappy one.

Would a collaboration with Senidah be acceptable to you?

Senidah is, collectively, very dear to us. She was the first Slovenian performer who 'killed it' in the Balkans after a long time, but it was music in the Serbo-Croatian language. It was a sign that it's possible to go out of the area that is not accepted as the Balkans, and still succeed there. We wanted to try what she was doing.

What are your future plans?

A lot of plans. We pride ourselves on still being an independent artist. We base all plans on the fact that a team can withstand it. We're going on a UK tour, a short tour – Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, London, which was, amazingly, sold out in five minutes. We will play in the Electric Ballroom in London, a legendary venue in Camden where the greatest artists have played, which is beyond reality. We will also have a Nordic tour - we play five concerts in Norway, Sweden, and Finland. We are also planning other European countries, which we will not announce now because we do not have confirmed dates yet. There will be at least one new single along with the start of working on a new album and concerts in Europe.

For those of y'all just getting here, I'm using this list here as my guidelines for What Music I Believe Bill Cipher Would Like, Loosely Based On Canon.

1. Yeah I think he'd like ABBA (or, y'know, BABBA, as the case may be). He likes party music and that's like, party music of the 70s—though I imagine he lost interest in them as they stopped being contemporary.

But more importantly, it gives me the mental image of Dipper singing Disco Girl and Bill Fucking Cipher joins in like "I LOVE THIS SONG!" He'd be mortified.

Now I'm just thinking of parody song titles for BABBA. "Hand Me! Hand Me! Hand Me! (A Guy Late At Night)." "Mommy Mama." "The Loser Takes Nothing." "Dollars, Dollars, Dollars." "Superb Soldier."

2. Now, I've said I think Bill is all over well-known psychedelic music, so you'd think Grateful Dead would be top of the list; but when I sit and listen to their top hits, it makes me think less In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida or Jefferson Airplane, and more John Denver, so thus far I've passed over them. But digging a bit deeper I'm finding more stuff that gives me Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds vibes, so this is probably just a sign that I need to finally fill in the Grateful Dead-shaped hole in my mental musical library like I've been meaning to do for years. I'm gonna tentatively say "yes" just due to the fact that it's the Grateful Dead, but I haven't listened to them enough to say WHAT he'd enjoy.

3. I will grant that it's very funny to imagine Bill laying on a bed staring at the ceiling while "NOBODY, NOBODY, NOBODY—" blasts at top volume. However I think the main reason it's funny is because it's jarringly incongruous. Most of Mitski's music is dreamy-sounding, deeply introspective, and carried not by simple pop-friendly melodies but by the the complexity & poetry of the lyrics—and I think all of those are things Bill tends to steer away from. "Can you take psychedelics to it in the back of a van with tie-dye tapestries on the wall?" or "Can you rave to it?" covers most of his casual music listening.

(However, I do think he's got an ex girlfriend who did beat poetry that sounds kinda like Mitski lyrics as performed by a screaming death metal band. Someday I'll get around to drawing some of his exes.)

4. I say this as somebody who loves "Again" and "Echo"—I think he'd hate them, & probably most of Kikuo's music. There's a vast breadth of Vocaloid music—it's not really a genre so much as it is an instrument—and while I don't necessarily think he'd outright reject anything made with Vocaloid, I do think he'd steer away from the lyrically darker music. Like I said, I don't think he likes deeply introspective music. This triangle hasn't acknowledged or explored a negative emotion in a bajillion years and he's not about to start now. I mean, come on:

Cause I am on fire; a crying, burning liar; seeing nothing, nothing, but myself; and I'm the one with the lighter!

Is that about Bill? Sure, that's about Bill!!! You could insert it into the middle of the axolotl poem and hardly even notice.

(Making this was a mistake, in my head I started singing "if he wants to shirk the blame, he'll have to invoke my name" to the tune of "Again". Unplanned new headcanon voice for the Axolotl.)

However, "this describes Bill well" doesn't mean "Bill would like this." In fact, I think "this describes Bill well" almost guarantees that Bill would dislike a particular song. The fact that "Again" has such an apt description of him is exactly why he'd despise it. If you try to play this in his hearing, he's blowing up the speaker, burning down the house, turning your head into an ice cream cone and biting it off, and then telling his stunned silent friends that he got tired of this whiny boring music now let's go destroy something fun. Assuming he doesn't simply show no reaction to it at all so that he can avoid showing weakness.

Just about any songs about doubt, remorse, or bad feelings are gonna get the same reaction out of him. He doesn't wanna touch them with a ten foot pole. Music is for partying, music is for escapism. I can see him enjoying a darker song if it's framed in a way that invites the listener to derive voyeuristic schadenfreude from the singer's suffering—but if it's meant to confront you or discomfort you, or if listeners are expected in any way to personally identify with the lyrics, he's not touching it.

I could potentially see him listening to some of Kikuo's music if he can engage it STRICTLY as a party song. For instance, Gomenne Gomenne has sections that make it a solid dubstep song—with frenetic wordless singing on top, I think that'd appeal to Bill—so he might could put it on at a party... as long as the party is loud enough that he doesn't have to pay any attention to the lyrics about horrific child abuse and the resultant trauma. Maybe find a remix that leaves out all the lyrics about low self-esteem, brokenness, and worthlessness—but leave in the bits about rib soup, he thinks that part's funny once the context is removed. Violence is great, he just doesn't wanna be expected to pity someone.

It's a big stretch, though. If I had to pick Vocaloid songs for him, I'd look for either party-ready EDM with relatively bland lyrics or the really experimental pieces that do ear-hurting insane discordant things by pushing the Vocaloid program to the limits of the sounds it can generate; but I probably wouldn't pick Vocaloid for him at all.

5. I don't have anything special to say about Kate Bush, I just don't think anything about her music would intrigue him but there's nothing about it that would specifically deeply rub him the wrong way. Since I assume he's passingly familiar with most notable popular/mainstream artists, I'm sure he's heard her hits, he could probably sarcastically bang out a few bars of "Running Up That Hill" on the piano if he ever somehow found himself in a situation where sarcastic "Running Up That Hill" would be fitting; but the same could be said of any other chart-topping musician.

I got bored so I decided to make a Percy Jackson Oc but with a twist.

Name: Nanny or Abba

Parent: Hera

Age: 17 but technically 10 (god stuff).

Height: 6'4

Eye Color: Green with blue sections, similar to Peacock feathers

Hair color: Dark Brown with Grey streaks.

Looks: Dresses like a preppy mom up top and a good old dilf waist down. Looks both 17 and 32.

Gender: Non-binary and fluid (They/He/She)

Backstory: Hera, while a horrible person in the pjo universe, is the goddess of motherhood and feels a sense of duty to protect small children. Not wanting to see anymore demigod children left to die on the streets, she created Nanny from clay, her blood, and the blood of a children's show host. Due to the way Nanny was created, they aged rapidly, and after a year of life the were already 17 and then proceeded to temporarily stop aging. (They are not immortal, it was a rushed process)

Once reaching 17, Nanny was sent out to find and care for small demigod children who were too young to go to camp. Now, with a small brigade of children, Nanny, also known as "Mom, " "Dad," or "Abba," finally arrived at Camp Half Blood. Much to the shock, surprise, disdain, and even fear of the other campers, Nanny has taken over the care of all of the children, though they seem to be extremely avoidant of fighting or using their godly gifts.

Godly Gifts:

Emotion Enviorment - Of they are calm, they can make you calm. If they are angry, you are angry and so on and so forth. Useful when calming children.

A Mother's intuition - Knows whether or not a quest is going to succeed with 80% accuracy. They are more accurate when their children are involved, but lets just say, if they say, "Hey, go with this camper instead," listen to them. Mother knows best.

Parent Voice - Anything that they say while using this voice automatically forces the person to follow the command. Though under extreme emotional stress and despair, Nanny can let out a wail that can shake the ground and heavens (This ability is avoided at all costs, unlike their mother, they find no joy in manipulation)

Peacock Fan - A fan that allows them to change their gender whenever necessary. Doesn't change any of their features though other than weight distribution and heights. Female version - 6' 1, Neutral - 6'4, Male - 6'6. Eye Color, hair color and hair length stays the same. This ability is mostly used for fooling teachers during parent teacher meetings. The fan does hide daggers, though, but that is Nanny's personal choice.

Mom Purse - There is nothing magical about this bag, it is just a limitless black hole, like all mom purses. Though it occasionally houses a brick or two.

They are not strong in battle unless you have harmed a child. The worse the harm to the child, the stronger they are.

hello hello !! it's been so much fun participating in this event, i hope you don't mind another request as it comes to an end soon. May i request a 🧁 please? There's also no rush to write this! Take all the time you need, as well as time for yourself :)

Well to start off i'm an infp, a scorpio, and a ravenclaw. I'm shy and little guarded when i first meet new people, though when i get more comfortable around them i open up more. I'm quite the curious type and i tend to be more of a listener in conversations. I value trust and building that in platonic and romantic relationships is very important to me. Quality time and physical touch are also my top two love languages.

I'm quite short (157cm) and my hair has grown out to hip length so learning new hairstyles and braiding my hair is what i've gotten into lately. I also love learning languages! I study both french and irish at school while i also brush up my tagalog at home since i grew up mostly speaking english. I'm quite ambitious when it comes to academics, which unfortunately results in overworking. I'm often very tired because of this, but when it comes to hobbies and interests i could spend hours acquiring new knowledge.

I love bookbinding, drawing, or journaling whenever i have free time and i try to sneak some time in to stargaze whenever i'm up late doing an assignment. I could also spend hours in a bookstore, library, or an art museum if i had the chance to! I also love listening to classical music, opm songs, and songs from adele, abba, birdy, luna li, and lana del rey.

ii. sirius can’t help but stare at you because you look so elegant and… beautiful… yes he gets teased by the boys but it’s worth it, in fact, because of their teasing, he was willing to approach you himself and spend more time with you outside of obligatory gatherings if you were already hanging out with remus. over time, the two of you got closer and closer until eventually, you were both acting like lovesick fools towards each other. it was only a matter of time before the two of you made it official and it was quickly drawing near, if the closeness, lingering touches, shy smiles and flirty comments were any indication. it wasn’t hard for sirius to fall so hard and so quickly for you; sometimes, you seemed like the only person who was willing to listen to him, which he appreciated so much, more often than not, he lets slip endearing phrases in french about you, to your face, not know that you understood him ‘tu es si belle, s’il te plaît sois à moi…’

iii. the two of you balanced each other out well. being an academic who had the tendency to overwork, sirius’ clinginess and attention-seeking tendencies have become the optimal distraction and excuse for you to take a break and just cuddle with him and his touch-starved self. the two of you made a playlist that was a mix of both yours and his favourite songs to listen to so that whenever you would just cuddle in silence you had a cute playlist to put on whenever, you two know the lyrics to each song so well now that you two often sing the lyrics to each other, giggling whenever the other person failed to sing in tune with the music.

iv. Your dates outside of hogwarts consisted of museums, libraries, spontaneous shopping sprees and adventures in national parks where you’d set up a humble little picnic together. it was all very cute and sirius would take you both there on the back of his beloved motorcycle. he looks cool and handsome in his leather jacket and laced up boots but every time you climb up to sit behind him and wrap your arms around his waist, he would be an a giddy mess inside, loving the feel of your small, soft hands on him as well as the idea that you were his girlfriend to drive around and go on cute dates with. he loved it so so much.

v. he also loved how adorable little you were compared to him, it made him want to pick you up in his arms and cuddle you close with your feet off the ground — he’s actually done this several times and always stretched out his little impromptu cuddle session with you even though a professor has already told him off and was breathing down his neck until he finally sets you down, only to land himself a detention for taking so long to do so. he would never drag you down with him when it came to academics, however, he knew how important your grades were to you so he does his best to exclude you from their pranks and ensure that you maintain your pristine reputation throughout the school years; it was something you worked hard on and he wasn’t going to take that away from you

i’ve started my annual relisten of interstitial season one and i feel like i have been neglecting my duties as your dashboard’s resident actual play podcast liker so here. have a recommendation post.

Why You Should Listen To Interstitial: A Crossover Driven Actual Play Podcast

first of all: what am i talking about? well, interstitial is a tabletop game written by riley hopkins inspired by kingdom hearts. in riley’s own words, it is “a tabletop RPG about our connections with other people, the power we draw from those connections, and traveling to different worlds.” it’s a powered by the apocalypse game so if you’re familiar with dungeon world, monster of the week, or masks, you’ll pick it up pretty quickly. (you can get it on riley’s website or on itch.io!)

but this post is not about the game. this is about interstitial the crossover driven actual play podcast, which began as a patreon reward for the got it memorized? kingdom hearts recap podcast.

interstitial has three seasons and several bonus arcs to its name. you don’t need to listen to all the seasons in order for the others to make sense, but i still recommend you do. here is what the seasons are like:

season one, the original patreon reward season, is directly inspired by and linked to kingdom hearts, featuring keyblades, nobodies, and the funniest version of organization xiii you’ve ever heard. i will not spoil you for the characters or worlds visited in this season; i will simply tell you to listen to the first ten minutes of character creation and say that that just about sets the standard for the rest of the show. (all properties contained in this season are specifically disney owned which, as we know, is a very VERY wide umbrella.) by the way i listened to season one the first time while knowing nothing about kingdom hearts and i still understood most of it so don’t worry about that.

the door to darkness specials are one-shot specials released between seasons one and two. here are some things that happen in them: shego from kim possible norts archie andrews (touch of evil), riley fails so many rolls that tony hawk fades from existence completely (reality and other falsehoods), wheels plays bright eyes from the total eclipse of the heart music video (lonely souls), and in the 2 fast 2 furious special the party has to prevent matt hardy and problem sleuth from being norted.

season two, subtitled authority, breaks away from the disney property mantle. the protagonists are rescued fragments of destroyed worlds who are being shuffled from world to world while their worlds are being rebuilt. well, that’s the original conceit, anyway. i want you to also listen to this season’s character creation episode, if nothing else, because it is the PERFECT example of how to do character introductions through a framing device. also, there is a cyborg version of john cena being chased down by his version of vince mcmahon who has transcended this mortal coil and is now a gas cloud.

season three, subtitled proximity, was a surprise release at the beginning of 2022. it’s the heist season; the characters are part of a crew set up to just rob some motherfuckers blind. that’s an oversimplification. i cannot stress enough that season three is perfect in every fucking way. if you thought pidge voltron should have been canonically nonbinary, if you like john wick, if you like having two characters both named miles in the same room, if you like the abba song “the winner takes it all” you will love this season. it is only BARELY edged out by season one in my personal rankings because season one is my comfort show but who knows. i might revisit my rankings on my next relisten.

if you think the things i vaguely alluded to were buckwild, all i can say is, you’ve got a big storm coming.

each season is about sixteen episodes a piece, and each episode is about an hour long, so it’s very easily digestible. the episodes are absolutely hilarious and poignant in turn, everyone is a joy to listen to both in and out of character, and you can tell they’re all just having an absolute blast.

11. “dreamgirl” by dave matthews band. my parents met at a dave matthews band concert so i’ve grown up listening to a lot of their songs and they’re nostalgic to me, and this one is one of my favorites. “free fallin” by tom petty is another one that’s nostalgic for me and it moves me every time i listen to it. the lyrics “i wanna write her name in the sky/i’m gonna free fall out into nothin'/gonna leave this world for a while” just gets me in the feels for some reason idk
