hey, everyone!

My name is Ley (pronounced like "Lee," she/they) and I'm a fiction writer/editor based in the PNW. I haven't done a proper writeblr intro in a while, so I figure the new year is a great time to reintroduce myself to the community!

— about me

An important thing to understand about me and the way I talk about writing is that this stuff is literally my entire life. Even outside of work, I don't think I have a single interest or hobby that doesn't relate back to storytelling in some capacity. I'm an avid media consumer and critic, and will hyperanalyze just about anything that catches my fancy for more than a minute.

I love science fiction and fantasy, and my goal as a writer is to take all the genres I loved growing up and create stories that are a little more diverse, inclusive, and queer.

I came to writeblr mostly to share my work, but also to find an active community where I can get excited with other writers and talk shop. Marketing is obviously a really important part of the publishing industry, but I get tired of having to filter every thought I have about my work and experiences through the lens of aesthetic micro-trends just to put it out in the world. Sometimes I just want to pop off about scenes I'm proud of, you know?

Above all else, I really just want to connect with more writers like myself, ones who got their start in fandom spaces and are working to take their writing from a hobby into a career. I see you, I am you, I love you, let's be friends!

— about my writing

I write a lot, though most of it is disconnected nonsense. Flash fiction and short stories are where I really thrive as a writer. I don't tend to commit to long-form projects, but I have a few projects that I'll occasionally share details about!

I like to describe my style as "earnest and character-forward," which is a fancy way of saying that I like driven protagonists who think too much and are emotional to the point of it being a character flaw.

My goal is to share more of my original writing moving forward, so hopefully you'll get to see all of this for yourself. If I'm totally honest, though, you'll probably see more of me discussing my work than actually writing it.

Here are the things you'll most likely see me posting about:

Agnomen: A sci-fi retelling of Hamlet and Coriolanus, currently in its very preliminary stages. It is literally my Roman Empire, except it's set on a moon of a planet that I'm calling Jupiter as a placeholder (but please note that it isn't actually Jupiter, as Jupiter is a gas giant and therefore a scientifically impossible setting for large sections of the plot).

Alter Ego: A superhero fic in which not-so-mild-mannered reporter Drew Derrick fights for mutant rights and can't seem to get his act together when it comes to keeping the complicated parts of his life separate.

Untitled Fantasy Project: The very first project I ever wrote, and the piece I return to every so often when writing is feeling more like a slog than a fun hobby. I set a lot of one-offs in this world and follow a few key characters around without them having a real plot.

D&D: I write a lot about Baz, my Wild Magic Barbarian. He's a regency noble with a lot of problems, and I care about him very much. I also have various other settings and characters, but he's my most active PC at the moment and therefore gets the most attention.

Short Stories: Sometimes I write these, and sometimes I like them enough to share!

My next post should be up in a few days, but while I'm working on that, I just want to share a couple blogs I've been obsessed with lately!

I go back to re-read her entire masterlist ALL THE TIME. I get so excited when she posts because I know my jaw is about to be on the floor. Also, her porn always has plot, which makes the build-up so much better and almost cathartic. I am on the edge of my seat.

It's hard to choose my favorite work of hers, but I think it's I Don't Need You (Don't Leave Me). The amount of work and thought that must have gone into this is truly incredible. Please go read it!

She's sooo good at writing dialogue. It feels so natural and flows very well with the rest of the story. Everything that Ellie says is in character and really pulls me into the story. For lack of a better term, her writing feels real. Also, her blog theme is adorable!

My favorite of hers is easy mode. Just read it and you'll understand why :)

For starters, we have the same name lol! But her writing is also just gorgeous. I'm not really an Abby girl, but that's how I initially found her blog, and her writing has really changed my opinion of the character. I love the way she portrays her as so gentle and loving. When I'm lacking inspiration, I'll read a few things from her masterlist to remember what good writing looks like.

My favorite of hers is Heaven is here if you want it. Sub!Abby yesyesyesyes I'm on my knees.

Last but not least is one of my first mutuals! She is so sweet and has the best music taste! The first time I read one of her works I was thinking about it for dayssss. Her dialogue is always great, and she has somehow figured out the secret to writing action without making it sound all clunky.

My favorite of hers is Her. One of my favorite Ellie fics ever!

Okay, that's it for now. I feel like it's so important to show other writers/creators appreciation. As a writer myself, getting a detailed compliment or even just a reblog means so much! I just want to spread some of the love!

Im so sorry to hear about the discourse surrounding it, I had absolutely no idea. It’s definitely one of the best works out there. I appreciate it really so much. All my friends are tired of me talking about it so much and everytime I pass a can of spam in the grocery store, I stop and grieve.

I understand that you might feel burned out from all the discourse and hate (which I don’t understand why it exists in the first place?) but I just wanted to let you know if u ever decide to pick it up again, I’d be here waiting for quite literally forever. I read it almost half a year ago on ao3, so I suppose I can live off the crumbs.

I am just so fascinated and impressed by how you write the whole deal about the aftermath of the Gun devil attack. The gymnasium, the rations, the orphanage, the caseworkers?? It is so detail that it quite literally blows my mind. I genuinely can’t put in words how much I love it.

So please if you do ever end up working on it, please let me know. In the meantime, I’ll be waiting and refreshing your blog ever so often for a silver of hope.

the discourse was so silly, it wasn't over bluebird specifically but just over dark content as a whole, which I have since gone back to writing anyway because I have deranged writing tendencies and I'm a glutton for punishment 💀 I guess I could just post chapter three this weekend since it's already written and I've been saying I would anyway. a lot of it is SUPER awkward because they're teenagers (lol), but I promise that toward the end it returns to that sweet traumatic worldbuilding 🫡 SO I'll try to get that up if I survive the work week!!

Scenery, setting, details. How to make things happen from point a to point b fluidly. I've patched those issues with lots of "time skip" sections.

I'm not opposed; but I don't know any other language than English. Google translate? Or asking a mutual how to construct sentences/phrases more naturally.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

The X-Files! (Juvenilia LOTR fics don't count, because they were childhood AUs and what was I thinking?)

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

Son of Egypt opened the floodgates for me (and got praise online and offline, so I'm thankful for that.) A fic that has the lowest? notes but I am super proud of is "Time Passing in Moments", so I'll throw that one a bone. To be honest, I'm really proud of all of them. :DDD

Hello. I'm sure you've noticed that I haven't been active in quite some time. Or, well, if you haven't, now you have. Sorry that I am only now returning and only to tell you that I will be “leaving” permanently.

I'm only here now to address something. Yes, it's regarding the situation with Wilbur Soot. I don't want to go into too much detail about it. If you know, you know. If you don't, sorry you had to find out this way. All I can say is, I'm no longer comfortable when it comes to things relating to him.

I wanted to come back to this blog, even coming up with an idea to write a fic for my return. I've really missed talking to my friends and my mutuals, you're all amazing and wonderful. But I've found that I don't really want to go back here, at least not in this blog. And now, with the terrible news about Wilbur, I'm starting to lean even more to the idea of not coming back here.

I've read and seen the things people are saying about him with my mutuals and people I followed. People are slowly leaving or taking a break from their blogs. It hurts seeing my friends get attacked for it and it hurts even more knowing that they're having a terrible time over this. This is meant to be a safe space.

And before you say anything or start attacking me in asks, in no way am I saying that the things people said about Wilbur are true. We do not know the identity of the person Shelby was talking about and we can't be sure until she's confirmed it herself, which she has every right not to if she could. Even so, I still want to be safe.

Wilbur had been a huge inspiration for me. He brought me comfort and joy, if it weren't for him, I wouldn't have made so many friends that I could share an interest with. But with everything that's been going on, whether it is true or not, I do not feel comfortable being associated with him anymore and this blog was created based on him, which makes me feel uncomfortable going back to.

I haven't been here for a long time so I can't say I've seen everything. But I just wanted to quickly say this before things take a worse turn. Plus, I've slowly grown out of my interest for Wilbur Soot (if you haven't already noticed by the huge lack of content last year).

So, I've decided. I'm going to start over. I've made a new blog that I've been running for a while (well, there's not really anything there yet) and I've been thinking of moving there permanently. Yes, it is the blog I was talking about in my introduction. Though, it's not just going to be a writing blog now, it's going to be filled with a bunch of other stuff.

The new blog is completely different. You will see a new side of me you haven't before. More fandoms, more content, more media and franchises. And less of MCYT. For the sake of myself and everyone's comfort, I won't be sharing my blog with you all right now. I'm only going to share them with SOME of my friends and mutuals. Maybe if I'm a little more comfortable with opening it up to all of you one day, I'll come back to announce it. Or maybe you'll end up finding it on your own. Who knows. Either way, if you ever find my new blog, please don't mention anything from this one. I would like to keep them totally separate.

I won't be deleting anything from here. I'm keeping it as an archive. I won't do anything to this blog other than state that I will no longer use it. Maybe I'll come back here one day just to completely change everything, but that is not a plan of mine right now.

If you specifically want to keep in touch, let me know! (I don't mind if you still create content with Wilbur, that's not a big deal for me) My DMs are open right now but they won't be for long. Keep in mind, I might not accept everyone (especially if you are a minor, I will decide very carefully about this). While my blog will still be SFW for the most of it, I can't promise that it will always stay that way in the future. Please practice viewer's discretion. I also have a Discord! This is only open for my friends and mutuals (sorry!!), but I might accept friends of friends!

I think that's all I really want to say. If I have more to add, I will. If you have any questions, send me an ask or DM me! Again, I might or might not leave this blog for good sooner than expected. WIP Wednesday

I am actually working on two things, this week we'll go with drawing...

80s party in Skyhold, I saw a picture of two models in the 80s and thought that they were Aisling and Radha. Stars were apparently in position to draw Radha for good, she's a wallflower (by choice. She'll stick to the wall and say nothing and listen to everything, by the end of the evening she'll know everything. Leliana adores her.). Aisling has blinded two people already with the bluest dress, I'm planning of trying some cangiant effect on it because... Why having one colour when you can have TWO. (the scrunchie may become orange)

A Dark Lady chilling out with her Witch-King, sipping tea and looking at the sunset. Running Mordor whilst looking that fabolous takes up a lot of energy, you see... They need some chill. I put some basic underpaint and coloured something, but I'm trying to figure out how to paint marble (of course the floor is marble. It's Dorian's private library, the moment he had funds to decorate you know he went for the bougiest options), and with colours it doesn't look much and details are lost. By the way the Dark Lady AU has its own fic now if you'd like.

In writing form, I'm working through another prompt, and slowly going on with some Dark Lady shenanigans that's giving me JOY. A lot of joy. hey guys haha i have a kind of announcement thingy... it is not sunshine and rainbows unfortunately orz

(there will be a tl;dr at the end if yall dont wanna read all my random thoughts lol)

i am going to just be completely honest. i don't really want to write anymore. at least not on this blog...

i know that i have requests but i really have been struggling with... everything!! i just graduated and that was like a punch in the face because everything that i've been feeling for months really became... real??? like i thought i had just been hallucinating all the really bad feelings but it was real!!!

i've been lacking motivation with writing, and every time ive sat down to write i feel bad and terrible and it really is an awful feeling and i'm sick of it... and even when im not writing my silly goof tickle fics those feelings somehow creep into my brain and it's been making it really hard for me to write anything that ive enjoyed.

so... i think what im trying to say... is that i'm going to stop writing for this blog. it isn't because of anyone, i think that its just because ive been doing it for so long that it's become a genuine stresser for me, and i think that by separating myself from this blog, it'll be much easier for me to... exist!

i could go into a LOT more details about how ive been feeling but i really dont want to go too crazy since i am... on the internet lolol but i think that it would be better for me to not write anymore.

so what does this mean for this blog???

i'm not going to be deactivating this blog, and i'll make sure that all my links and such are up to date before i officially leave. I'm not going to like... sign out, and i'll still be active every now and then, but if you'd like to get my discord for any contact, please let me know! i'm not super active on discord right now either though, so please be aware of that lol

this blog is essentially going to be an archive. i'll go through my masterlists and update all of my other important posts, but otherwise, there probably won't be any new content from me.

I probably won't be active on ao3 either, but if you'd like to give my old works a peek as well, you're more than welcome. the link is right here if you're interested!

there's still some stuff that i'm working out as well in my personal life and in cleaning up some loose ends on this blog, so if i take a little bit in responding to anyone, that's why. i'm sorry this is kind of a bleak little post, but i really can't do it anymore.

to everyone who sent in a request in the last round of prompts, thank you so much because it really did make me excited, but i'm not going to be able to complete them... i really appreciate every single one of you, and i hope you can forgive me orz

TL;DR

I'm really really tired and have had a lot of negative feelings for a really long time, and I think that leaving this blog in terms of writing will be best for me in the long run. There will be no more new content from me, but I might still remain active with communications if I can. I'll be updating my blog until it's good enough to leave, and then I will no longer be a content creator.

Warnings: Drinking, drunk, fem reader, mentions and acts of throwing up, (no heavy detail about it as a fellow emetophobia girly)

It was around two am when the painfully loud pitch of the phone rang, echoing through the large empty house. Cursing I stumbled towards my bedroom door, making my way down the stairs and to the kitchen catching the phone on it's last ring. "Hello?" I said voice cracking. I coughed into my hand.

"Steve you have to come get (Y/N)" A female voice barely came through the other end, loud music and shouting behind it.

"What?" I said rubbing a hand over my face. "Who is this?"

"It's Robin you dingus, just get here fast, it's the house at the end of derry road, you know it?" she said rushed.

"Yeah, yeah I know it"

"You might wanna hurry just a little extra please, she's wasted and I don't know how long I can try to keep her from taking off her clothes"

"Fuck" I muttered under my breath. (Y/N) and alcohol did not mix well, and assuming she was unattended for a minute too long, she's already had too much to drink. "Where's her boyfriend?" I asked.

"Fuck if I know Steve!" Robin yelled loudly. I had to pull my ear away from the receiver briefly. "I think they got into a fight or something, which has lead to this" I could hear (Y/N) yelling at robin to come dance with her in the background.

"Alright I'll be there in ten" I said widening my eyes and blinking a few extra times as if that would rid the sleep from my body.

"Okay I'll- No (Y/N) don't get on the table, oh my god-" The line cut.

Being (Y/N) best friend, picking her up from a party at two am wasn't something I was unfamiliar with. What I wasn't too keen on was that she never told me about this party in the first place. Annoyed I made my way to my car, not bothering to change into actual clothing sliding into the drivers seat, the cold leather against my bare back. "Testing my patience every goddamn day I swear" I said into the void of quietness of the car.

She sure as hell was a pain in my ass and as much as I complained I loved every minute of it. A year younger than me but you'd never be able to tell with how mature she could be. She was so cheerful, and optimistic, witty, smart, a little obnoxiously loud sometimes. She was someone who was always interested in what you had to say even if she had no idea what you were actually talking about. She just wanted to make sure someone heard you and that you felt heard. She was also painfully beautiful. I had a crush on her the minute I met her for the first time during recess back in elementary school, when she sat silently on the ground by herself, watching a tiny beetle make its way around the playground.

When I graduated I didn't want to leave her behind, and in many ways I didn't. I still see her almost everyday, and our routine sleepovers have never stopped since, but I felt a pang of guilt knowing I'd never walk those school halls with her, to protect her. Protect her from what? I don't know, but I hated not being there for her.

When she started dating Sean I expected something in her to change, but more hopeful for something in me to change. I was hoping all those bottled up feelings I had for her would disappear now that I really couldn't have her. It only made it worse. The more she talked about him, and how her face lit up when she told me about their dates, made me feel physically sick to my stomach. But I was happy for her because this is something she wanted. She always wanted to be loved the way she loved everyone else.

I wanted to be the one to love her so badly but I didn't want to ruin what we had as friends, and I think she knew I still felt the same as I did when I told her when I was fifteen. She always knew what was going on in my head, sometimes even before I did I swear. When I had finally told her about how I thought I liked her more than friends we didn't talk for two days. Two days of pure agony wondering if I was ever going to see her again, even if it was just as friends. Two days later she showed up on my doorstep. Bandaged knees, untied shoe laces, and her hair in some make shift pony tail that hung off the side of her head loosely, like it had come undone from the short bike ride over. She told me she loved me but not like that, and she wanted us to stay friends. She didn't want to lose me either. Although it hurt, I could live with her being my best friend if I couldn't be with her. We were fifteen and it seemed like centuries ago. But still as the time went on my crush never faded, I just got better at hiding it.

I dated Nancy in between those years, and I did love her. But I think we both knew that there was always something blocking us from giving our full love to each other, and I ended it after a drunken conversation with her in a bathroom at some stupid party.

And here I am, on my way to another stupid party, except I'm picking up the girl I love who is apparently drunk out of her mind.

I could hear the loud music from down the street before I got even remotely close to the house. Pulling up just outside of it I put my car in park before getting out.

"Steveeeeee!" I flinched as the loud yell of my name somehow echoed over the music. She stood on the front porch of the house leaning way to far over the railing with one hand outstretched towards me, while the other hand was held tightly by Robin, keeping her from falling completely over. "Robin Steves here!" She yelled again jumping up and down, wobbling lightly as I made my way up the drive way. She gasped dramatically and stumbled down the few steps, tripping into my arms. Catching her, just barely, before she could scuff her knees off the ground. "Look at this tall glass of milk" She cooed trailing a finger up my bare chest. Her pink long sleeve shirt hung loosely around her neck, one arm completely out, her black bra exposed to anyone who could notice.

"Milk?" I questioned. "I think it's supposed to be water, not milk" I laughed.

"Whatever is, is milk, milk is good for you right?" she asked tilting her head at me.

"I mean it's supposed to be. C'mon, let's get you home" I said shifting her so my arm was now wrapped around her waist. "I tried to keep her clothed" Robin said biting at the skin on her thumb.

"I know Robs" I said giving her a reassuring smile. "Go back and find your girlfriend, you're done babysitting for the night" I could see the blush creep up on her cheeks even in the dim light.

"I am very drunk" (Y/N) stated as I helped her towards my car and into the passenger seat.

"Yes you are" I pulled her forward in the seat tugging her arm back into her sleeve and pulling it back down to her waist, my hands lingered there a second too long but she didn't notice. Reaching for her seatbelt, I pulled it out a little extra and leaned over her, clipping it into place. While doing so she leaned forward biting me slightly on my shoulder. "Ow" I said flinching at the small nip.

She giggled softly, lifting her legs onto the seat and crossed them. "I don't know I just had to bite you" she said giggling again. "Cause you're naked"

God I wanted to kiss her so badly. Her hair was dishevelled, makeup smudged, eyes glassy, that lazy smile plastered across her face. It took me a moment to notice the tear stains down her face. "Were you crying?" I said concerned.

"Nope!" She said popping the 'p' and leaned back into the seat wit ha sigh. I didn't believe her.

Finally rounding the car back to the drivers side and began driving. It was unusually quiet and I could feel her staring at me.

"Take a picture it'll last longer" I said glancing at her.

"I don't have a camera" She mumbled.

A small laugh left my nose and I glanced at her again. Her hands fidgeting in her lap, her shoulders slumped, like she had flipped a switch, and that happy drunk girl was gone and replaced with someone else.

"Robin said something happened" I said quietly.

She sniffed loudly looking straight ahead. "Oh yeah" She said dramatically "He broke up with me" Still unmoving, and sitting up straight she looked at me. Her eyes watering, and she looked so sad, so... Heartbroken.

"Steve?" She said almost in a whisper.

"Yeah?"

"I think I'm gunna be sick"

Pulling over as quickly as I could and barely before the car fully stopped moving, she flung her seat belt off opening the door and vomiting into the quiet street around us. "Shit" I said putting the car in park and sliding over to get as close to her as I could. Pulling her hair back out of her face. She hiccuped and sobbed into her heaves as she continued to spew every ounce of alcohol she had in her onto the ground in front of her."I'm sorry" She cried. Tears and drool falling from her face. I wiped the snot and tears from her nose with the back of my hand. "Don't be, I've seen you do a lot worse" I said with a small laugh.

"Not for this" She huffed, still out of breath. "For not letting you love me"

The tight grip I had on her hair loosened slightly. Shocked by what she said. "I mean you could never stop me from loving you" I said tucking a few loose strands of hair behind her ears. She finally sat back up, wiping her face with her sleeves. "No" her brows furrowed as she turned slightly towards me.

"I've always loved you, I just didn't want to ruin the one good thing I had in my life, no one wants to stick around with me, but you did, and you do, I would have crumbled without you Steve" Her hands trembled in her lap and her shoulders shook as a small sob broke through her.

"Baby" I whispered. Tilting her face back up to look at me. Her watery eyes, waterfalls at this point. In all the time I've known her, all I wanted was to hear those words leave her mouth, and to kiss her. The words still warmed my heart but I knew she would want to say them sober, and not covered in snot, tears, and vomit.

"Lets get you home yeah?" I said while gently rubbing my thumb across her cheek. She sniffled again and hiccuped. "Take me to yours? I don't want to go home"

"Okay" I said smiling.

The rest of the car ride back to my place she laid on her side, her head in my lap, eyes closed while she traced lazy shapes on my thigh.

I carried her to my room, placing her gently on the floor of my room, steadying her as she wobbled. "Can I get you undressed?"

She nodded. Heavy lidded eyes watching me as I slid both of her arms gently out of the sleeves and pulling her top over her head. "Here, come sit" I said leading her into the bathroom, closing the lid to the toilet so she could sit there. She obliged humming in response. Taking a small wash cloth off the shelf I damped it with warm water before turning back to her. "I know this won't get rid of your makeup that well, but it'll help you feel better" I said tilting her face up towards me. She closed her eyes as I wiped her face 'clean' with the damp cloth. Paying extra attention to her nose and mouth, ridding her of whatever leftover vomit may have clung to her skin. I trailed the cloth down her neck and to the top of her chest just a little before returning it to the sink.

Standing her back up she groaned. "I know baby" I whispered. Reaching for the button of her jeans and popping it open I tugged them down her thighs, kneeling in front of her so she could hold onto my shoulders for support while she stepped out of them. Quickly stepping out of the bathroom to grab her one of my sweaters, when I returned she stood in the doorway of the bathroom and had removed her bra, scratching at the embedded lines it left behind. I could feel the heat rise to my cheeks but ignored it as I pulled my sweater over her head, helping her put her arms though the long sleeves.

"I don't feel good" She said quietly.

"You think you're going to be sick again?" I asked searching her face for an answer.

"I don't know" She said frowning. I took her hand gently and led her back into the bathroom. "Sit, I'll be back in a minute" I instructed and lifted the toilet seat back up which she leaned against on her arms.

I decided that we better be safe than sorry, so I grabbed two cups, one filled with cold water, the other with crushed up ice. I set them down next to her before grabbing the blanket from my bed and a few of the pillows. I placed one of the pillows behind her and she leaned back into it sighing.

I grabbed a few extra pillows and blankets and made a make shift bed for myself right outside the bathroom door, only because the bathroom was too small to fit both of us comfortably on the floor. I got as comfy as I could and reached out to hold one of her hands. "You don't have to do that" She mumbled. "Sleep in your bed"

"I'm fine right here" I said settling into my pillow.

"I'm sorry" She whispered again.

"Don't be"

"I love you Steve"

"I love you too"

Salutations! Welcome to my corner of the internet! I'm not new to tumblr, I've been around the block~ So here's what to expect from me:

Writing! Oc's! X Reader! This is a request blog! Send me your request, and I may or may not write it! I'm doing this for free, and will only have so many slots for requests.

This is an NSFW blog! If you are a minor, please do not interact with my NSFW or ask for it. You will not receive it.

Requests unspecified to be a: Drabble (short but sweet), Headcanon's, or a short story/scenario (full fics are not offered at this time, because that means 1000+ words and words are hard lol) will be randomly chosen by ~moi~ so if you want something specific, you MUST include it.

I only write x Male Reader or Gender Neutral for personal reasons. Besides.. There isn't enough Male Reader's out there. 😏

I'll have 5 slots open for requests.. Now, just straight up asking me a plain 'character x reader' is fine and dandy! but.. The more specific you are, the more I can write! Example: Kenpachi x Shy! Male reader going on a cute but embarrassing date (because Zaraki loves embarrassing him 💜) give's me more to work with since it gives me a set personality I can build around, instead of doing everything myself. Which I have no problems with!

You can request up to 9 character's max, but be aware that the writing will be shorter or vary in length.

It's acceptable to ask for:

-X reader (will be Male or Gender Neutral as a given.) Please specify if you want SFW or NSFW, and who's topping/bottoming in the NSFW scenario.

-Fluff, Angst, or Slice of Life.. Etc. If you have something you specifically want, make sure to include it or you might not get what you want.

-An emotinally traumatic event. Such as death of a loved one, still birth, loss of a body part, so on. If it's anything extreme/beyond that, I will ask you to send me a DM/ask detailing on how you want me to go about it. I love writing about heavy subject's!

Now everybody's least favorite- The things I won't do:

-Anything relating to Fem! Reader. I'm a gay man, and I love men. That is my preference, I don't have to write what I'm not comfortable with. If your unhappy about that, oh well! It's my blog, not yours. (I've written it for asks before, if your curious. Please do not ask for it.)

-Extreme/Gross fetishes. Meaning- anything to do with scat, watersports, diapers, de-aging.. You get the idea.

-ANYTHING, anything relating to sexual assult. I will absolutely not write about rape and never will. Everything I write is consensual. I will write a scenario where it's a agreed upon act between the character's and part of the foreplay. Consent is given and a relationship is established. There is no 'one party wants and the other doesn't.'

-I will not write about Minors in any sexual fashion, because no. Absolutely not.

-Abuse. I will not write physically abusing someone. They can do all the drugs they want, drink all they want, but they will not raise a hand against their lover. You can ask for past abuse, but I will not write present abuse.

-I will not kill a character just because You don't like them.

-Anything morally questionable, if the character isn't already so. If it's out of character, you must negotiate with me. (Being morally questionable, for someone like say, Kisuke, to murder someone. I need a reason why he would do such a thing.. But OOC is not something you need to negotiate with me, and can be asked for. Such an example, is cuddly Tokinada. That's fine.) Dead Dove content is not my thing, sorry.

i just reread chap 25 of DI and i just wanna say dreea this is my comfort story.attention to every detail,dysfunctional family,not a saviour lover,but a supportive lover,how support and love can save people ,such a lovely love, such a monumetal but a the same time simple but beautiful love story ,it healed me,it made me believe that someday i can have this too no matter how damaged i am and how damaged the other person is ,there is someone out there that will love me through everything , you reminded me of it and i can't thank you enough for that, but i just saw people's reaction to it recently in your blog and it truly breaks my heart cause i see so much of a person's emotions poured into it so whoever wrote al those criticism,remember that dreea wrote a very realistic story with trauma and sensitive issues ,she never said it was a fairytale,the way she's writng it ,thats how life is and when ur critisizing it you are ignoring that a lot of the emotions ,incidents,things that are happening in the story ,how the story is going could be reimaginations of the author's real life emotions,(maybe),but when your reading a realistic fiction/fanfiction you should know that nothing ends like a fairytale and when ur asking the writer to stop at somewhere when they put so much of themselves into the story ,its no longer feedback or criticism its just something very wrong.you're not only taking away a writers will to write but also invalidating the writer's heart that she poured into it thus ignoring her feeling AND also the feeling of the readers that relate to it.this might be a new perspective but a perspective nonetheless so please think hard before coming here and criticising cuz at the end of day an app like tumblr,and things like fanfiction ,writing /reading is for escapism people come here as an escape ,away from all the criticism not to drown more in it we have enough critics out there as it is let's not bring em here too how about that!

but alas could go on forever about this but im just gonna say dreea pls whater you do with DI i want you to do what you would've done initially ,what your heart wanted initially, not what others want because remember we,the ogs, loved the DI that you created from your heart not the one you will make just to satiate other's expecations of you.DI is your most lovely baby.i love you and i'll wait for you however long it takes for your heart to beat like it used to for DI again.love you soo much!!XD

i'm literally crying reading this. i finally feel like someone GETS IT. i feel whole again after reading this. i swear to god. i've had other ppl reassure me and send me love for DI and encouragement, but you worded it perfectly and i just-- i don't know how to thank you. like, i swear it healed me.

everything you wrote is 1000% correct, that's exactly how i feel about everything. y'all don't understand how much this fic means to me... and how much it's been killing me to feel like i was being told their story was wrong, invalid, irrelevant etc. even if those exact words were not used, that's what it felt like.

it was my story to tell, and people were slapping their palms over my mouth telling me to quit it with that nonsense. they didn't want that. they wanted the fairytale and i wasn't delivering!

it made me upset. but mostly, it made me so sad. this was always a story about two broken people finding eachother and healing themselves by being together. and now it felt like people were mad at me for not having them be perfect all of a sudden. "there's always something wrong, something bad is always happening to them, problems from the past haven't been solved yet and others are already being created etcetc". like-- yeah. because just because you're healing and found your soulmate (because this is what i think they are) doesn't mean life is just gonna be hunky-dory from there on out. life is still gonna throw shit at them. the real challenge now is to face obstacles together and not let them ever set them apart ever again. to prove their growth through the lessons they've learned the hard way.

i just felt like nobody was getting what i wanted to do with the story.

again, i'm generalizing because i know so many others have been there for me too, and i thank them also and have been amazing supporting me all throughout and ever since that happened. i'm not taking away from the importance of their presence here at all- please don't misunderstand me! but i'm just saying- this particular person that wrote this ask put it into words perfectly and it all just clicked within me. like it finally feels right again...?

i'm still crying. i'm so happy.

thank you from the bottom of my heart for this. i don't know who you are... but i'm forever indebted to you for reaching out and telling me this. i really needed to heart it. i can now finally finish telling their story the way i always intended to!

i truly don't know how to better express what i'm feeling. i'm so grateful to you. and to all of you who have stuck around ❤️❤️❤️❤️ it means the world to me.

Do you have any snippets of info or behind curtains lore that you're willing to share? Any Belos and/or Selena crumbs? 🥺🙏

HmmmMMM so it's very iffy on how much I can say and how much I want to remain a surprise for others, but I will try my best to blabber on here for ya :v

So it's no mystery that Belos and Selena are basically the somewhat more functional (and very much less violent) version of my own Priest and Salem, who have been a massive hyper-fixation since late 2019/early 2020. I talked before about how I instantly imprinted on Belos because he is so much of what I envisioned when I created Priest, they have a lot of characteristics they share and a lot of backstory elements that are super similar.

I have spoiled some stuff inadvertently on this blog, because at the time I was developing everything, I wasn't sure I was going to be writing a fic yet, so some things are less of a surprise than others

Now, as for more in detail, fun lore stuff for this, lets go under a read-more, because maybe some peeps don't want me spoiling stuff hehe.

Something that a lot of people have caught on, and I am very happy they did, was that Elsewhere and Elsewhen is gonna be real big for Selena and Belos. I did one fun comic on the topic, and I put the "time shenanigans" tag on the fic, but where people started catching on was around chapter four, after introducing grandma Isabella, and where two things were mentioned: That Belos had a very short infatuation with Isabella upon meeting her, and that, as Isabella puts it, "Selena looks more and more like her every day"

And it's one of the main plot points in the story which I planed very early, it's the reason for Belos' obsession in the first place, and I can't wait to write it all out. I have some bits and pieces already written out. I also plan to do a side-fic of his POV as well, around the time this part of the story finally comes around. And let me tell you, Philip is one fun, deluded guy to write for! A little spoilery snippet for ya:

Some other stuff I am so excited about:

The Oracle aspect of Selena coming more in to play. It has been mostly pushed to the side except for little snippets here and there, however oracle magic is gonna be much more significant. Especially the spirit sensitivity that comes with it, and even the way I plan to change the canon near the end of season 2.

I actually started planing out a very different way the story would progress when season 2 just ended, which I already scraped because it just wouldn't fit anymore. It was supposed to be a very heartwrenching betrayal, especially on Belos' part, because in this version, in an attempt to purge Selena of the "inherent evil of magic", he forced a specialized sigil on her that locked away all her magic. Then the finale happened, Selena was dragged to the human realm (she was there along with him because he had every intention of taking her with him now that she was "cured"), and she was forced to adapt to a life without magic, and without Belos.

I can share snippets of this, since this storyline is now completely scrapped (also Philip regained his human form here, we didn't know yet that he was stuck in goop form haha)

The only saving grace I did give him in this version is that he was afraid the sigil would fail and hurt her, and his failsafe was the guhya skin. So his redemption did come in the form of him letting her know this later on and removing it, letting her magic come back.

Ah...I don't know what much more I could share. If some specific little things interest you, I could focus on that if I can, but like my mind is too scattered haha.

So first of all, I did not know you had a tumblr??? Second It Will Not Obey You SLAPS. And third my question: How in god's name did you do so much research for your fic??? What is your secret. How do you go about organizing or even knowing where to start for that matter. I struggle with research cause I never know where to start or stop and often I'm really uncertain if the info I'm gathering is even needed or if it's extraneous. I am both stupid and a perfectionist HELP ME

Hi Anon, thank you so much! I always appreciate viewer support and I hope you're enjoying all the art on this blog that isn't in the fic. In any case, I don't know if this method will work for you, or if it's how other authors do research, but here's my process. It's pretty long, so I'll put it under a cut for you:

First, I start with a story. When I say story, I don't really mean a beginning-middle-end, this happens and then that happens; it's a little more vague than that. For me, a story is more like a feeling, some truth or impulse, and all the writing or plot structure or everything else is built around it. I don't generally bother with things like plot structures (which I think should be descriptive and not prescriptive anyway), and I do make outlines, but you'd be surprised by how barren they are. Here's the original from 2016, with some spoilers blacked out:

And as you can see, I threw about half of it away during the writing process, haha. A surprising amount remains, though!

Something that comes about from approaching the story as a single entity is that oftentimes, things just fall into place. A big fight taking place in the congo where most of the cryptids from the Kur flash-forwards get called up, or the gang getting shot down over the Amazon like in the first two episodes of the show - little coincidences like this happen all the time. I think it's because, while writing, my brain starts making connections that I'm not consciously aware of - I often go by what "feels correct," and I've rewritten whole chapters multiple times before to chase that feeling of "correct."

How that ties into research is twofold: first, I'm a naturally curious person, and I'm constantly reading about stuff like mythology or ancient history or science etc. on my own. I like to have an approximate knowledge of many things - that way, there's more for my brain to make connections to. For example, I already knew about the chinese five-element system (wuxing), and remembered mystic hotspots from the show, and Excalibur, and video games, so when I decided on a plot device to keep Zak and Francis together during the main story, it was fairly easy to land on the idea of a quest to power up a special weapon only Francis can wield by hitting up mystical hotspots, each one themed after one of the wuxing.

The second part of the process is this: I have the general vibe or concept of the story in my head, and now I've settled on something concrete plot-wise - the magic weapon wuxing powerup quest. That makes it really easy to start researching specific details. I know I need a magic weapon, and I know this magic weapon has to be tied to Sumerian mythology, so I start digging around in Sumerian mythology for magic weapons, and find Sharur, the talking mace wielded by the Sumerian god Ninurta. Then I do some more research into the wuxing and see that each element is attached to a color, so those are the colors Sharur changes into. Now, a big part of the original show was its globetrotting nature, so obviously, I need to make each of these hotspots a different part of the globe. (And incidentally, "mythic hotspot" doesn't really roll off the tongue, so I rooted around myths for power spots etc. and found the Quechuan word "huaca," which has a meaning very similar to what I'm trying to make each huaca out to be).

So I scatter the huacas out so they're all roughly equidistant to each other, and none are too similar in geography or concept, and we go back to existing connections: I want to have one in China, because 1) I'm Chinese, 2) there's plot reasons (Sharur uses the wuxing because it was enchanted by a Chinese guy), 3) China has a long history comparable to India, the latter of which already featured extensively in the show. So I root around for the "secret science" parts of Chinese history and stumble across this semi-mythical Xia dynasty with its emperor who may or may not exist. That feels very Secret Saturdays to me, so Yu the Great and his tomb are now the second huaca. Now, we know so little about Yu the Great that there's not too much to draw from for how his tomb looks, but I already know about the tomb of Qin Shi Huang - his tomb's excavation was put on pause because ancient records spoke of him having a scale mercury replica of China complete with flowing mercury rivers, and while these claims were initially considered massive exaggerations if not outright lies, they DID find a TON of mercury in the tomb, making them go "unless..."

Mercury obviously fits right in with this huaca being "metal"-themed, so it's a perfect reference. The idea of a scale replica of China was blown up into the idea of a magically-powered VR simulation of ancient China. Now I need a cryptid for this arc, and hey, howdy, turns out Yu the Great has a serpent-slaying myth, Xiangliu! And what's this? Xiangliu's blood was so virulently poisonous that after it was slain, when the floodwaters came, the land became barren! There is such a strong pro-environement and pro-taking care of animals even when they seem monstrous vibe in TSS that if this story is seen through the lens of TSS, it looks a lot like a cautionary tale for why you don't just murder rampaging animals - they're natural parts of their natural environments, and there are repercussions for messing too much with the food chain.

And hey, doesn't that sound like a lesson Francis should learn? The last huaca, we got as far as Francis going from "I don't want to be here" to "I guess I'm stuck here." This huaca, we need to highlight how different he and Zak are, and how shortsighted - and human - Francis's ideals are, where he repeats Yu the Great's mistake, and humanity's mistakes as a whole.

Again, a lot of these connections aren't necessarily being made consciously. In the moment, they just sort of "feel right," which I know is unhelpful, but I can't really explain it any other way.

For an arc that had more secondary research than already knowing things ahead of time, the arc in the Congo took the longest to write (there was a two-year hiatus between it and the previous arc), in large part because I had so little to go off of. Myths from the Congo area are fairly sparse on the ground (for many reasons), and the ones I did find didn't really feel very TSS or IWNOY. I knew that this was the arc where everything went to shit - that we'd been building to that for a while - but I didn't have in my notes exactly how things went to shit, or even what the huaca was going to be. I knew it would be wood-themed, but this being the Congo Rainforest, pretty much anything I did would count. I knew I wanted to do something with the origin of humanity and/or the lemurians, because Africa was where humans first evolved.

So, actually, I wound up doing research into pretty much everything - all the cryptids from the area, all the myths from the area I could find. Previously, in my research on lemurians when working out what their Deal would be, I found out that a lot of writings on lemurians came from occultists in the 1900s, who also had many (racist and misogynistic) writings about where THEY think the first humans come from, about mystical ancient societies that were hyper advanced, etc. etc., which fit with the way that the lemurians seemed to have a veritable magical paradise in Shangri-La before the nagas massacred them. I could at least use the names from these hippies, because I couldn't find comparable mythology from the actual area, but I stripped out the... less savory parts.

I wanted to use the eloko/biloko when I found them, because their myths give them magic bells that compel people who hear it to do what they want - much like how the lemurian's charisma was set up (this being one of those interesting little coincidences that happen when the story "feels right.") Doubly so when I found out that eloko/biloko sleep in trees, which - wood-themed huaca. But I still wasn't really... piecing anything together.

So I switched tracks and started looking into Gilgamesh, the man, the myth, the legend, at the center of this all. Read the Epic of Gilgamesh (or, re-read, rather), and found the myth regarding Utnapishtim and Gilgamesh's quest for eternal life. An old man gifted by immortality from the gods? Given that I already had in my notes that the lemurians struck a deal with the devil with Kur and became what they are, and the eloko/biloko were a failure as a result of the lemurians going "wait, not like this" halfway through, Utnapishtim sounded like he could fit in as a lemurian from this original hullabaloo. And in the original Gilgamesh myth, the plant Utnapishtim points Gilgamesh to, which would grant him all his youth and vitality back, gets stolen from him by a serpent. Hey, nagas!

Okay, so now I had the origin of the lemurians, Utnapishtim's character being involved, even a hook for the nagas, and thus Argost, but it still wasn't coming together. SO...

... I gave up and started looking at biblical stuff. I'm a sellout hack. BUT, at least you can argue that biblical stuff is always potentially relevant, because the Saturday line has biblical names (Zakariya/Zechariah, Solomon, Elijah, Samuel) and Zak is set up with a minor Jesus reference (sacrifices himself for the good of mankind, is dead for 3 (minutes) and is resurrected). Specifically, I started looking into the "secret science" part of biblical stuff - apocrypha, or non-canonical texts. There's tons of interesting stuff in there, but it turned out to be mostly useless, aside from the chapter titles, but it did help to form this idea of making deals and regretting them - and I'm realizing now as I'm writing this that this was another one of those unconscious connections - ch12 is literally named after the part in Goethe's Faust where Faust makes his deal with Mephistopheles ("Die Wette biet ich" - "the bet I offer").

So now that I'd been freed to do biblical stuff (which, hey, also fits in with the wood theme, because Garden of Eden, get it?), I had access to the imagery of the snake tempting eve with fruit. And suddenly, everything started to come together. Themes of trying to defy what you are by nature, the nagas as betrayers, Kur and its entourage as demons, getting what you wished for but at what cost, a fall into darkness as the major players fail to defy their natures (and the consequences that result) - once I started, I couldn't stop.

So it's a bit hard to answer your question because it's all so intuitive, but I guess if I really had to say, the real answer to where to start and where to end is to just pick a topic you like so much that you wouldn't mind doing tons of research on it, even if most of it winds up being unusable. I LOVE ancient history and mythology, so even if nothing I read is useful, I don't mind reading. And not minding the reading means I have so much already floating around in my head for when I need to write something new. If you forced me to write, say, a crime drama or sci-fi story - two fields I have much less interest and much less knowledge on - I would also be pretty lost! At that point, I'd have two options - either I write something by the numbers just to get it done, or I do enough reading on the topic that I find something about it to love and care about, and then write based on that.

I think more is always better. Anything you don't immediately use becomes a potential connection for something else down the line. I'd say a good 30% of weird little factoids featured in IWNOY are things I knew before I did research for it, and now, for other projects I'm doing, the stuff I learned for IWNOY sometimes becomes relevant.

And I would always try not to worry too much about overstuffing or making your first draft bad. The secret is, most of the actually good writing happens in the editing. Your first draft exists for the purpose of existing. It's fine if it's riddled with holes, if the dialogue sucks, if there's way too much exposition and "essay-style writing" (what I like to call it when you randomly infodump all the research you've done - I've done this sooooo many times), or if it's so bad you have to delete the whole thing and start over (this is a regular part of my writing process!). The point of draft 1 is to throw the damn spaghetti against the damn wall. Edits and revisions are where you tastefully arrange it so that it's good and an art piece, haha.

Hi hi, finally some time to write this! Due to recent events I've been getting some questions from various people and I also have some questions for you guys so I'll try to do this in 1 post 😸

My answers:

Are you really not planning to write fics anymore?

That's the plan *nodnod*, but you know me. There's always a 'but' and a clown mask ready in my storage to put on if I happen to go against my own words. But the intention is to stop posting fics here, I'm too tired of it now lol. I might post a fic or two on AO3 once in a while, maybe write a collab with Mia if I feel like it. It's just... how do I say it.. my motivation to write more fics basically got washed down the drain together with blog #1. Let us see for how long that motivation swims in the sewers...

Can you reupload [fic name]?

If it's on my AO3, I won't. If it's not, hmm.... I probably also won't. But! It depends on the fic. Always feel free to ask, but please don't get angry when I say no! ^^ For now I have an exception: commissions. More about this down below in my question to you guys.

Why won't you try to get your old blog back?

It would require filing an objection against the copyright claims against me with all the legal risks, submitting my personal info from home address to name, and consenting to USA legal law stuffs bluhblahblah... :") For me too much of a hassle. I don't think my blog is worth it. Even if I don't know the exact details, I'm sure they're not wrong. Whether it's fair or not, most fandom stuff has copyright issues in the end, so I can't protest against the claims with 100% certainty it won't get me in real trouble. More info about this soon in another post!

Did you have a commission that was on my blog and do you prefer if this is reposted or not?

Some people 'bought' fics back when I had a shady kofi shop running and those fics were posted both on my AO3 and Tumblr (+ were sent in PDF format if requested). Well... With the loss of my account there were more things that went lost than just my fics, such as asks that were still in my inbox, DMs, personal stories and more. I did not back up anything and have zero overview and my memory is shit. However please note that I am not planning to turn this blog into a copy of my previous one. If you submitted a fic to my old blog, I won't repost it here sadly (I hope you saved it). 𖤓 INTRODUCTION

Hello, and welcome to my blog! The name I use online is Esther, although I also go by Leigh or Vera. My main tag is Leigh's shenanigans ⟡.

I actually used to run a shifting account (my-reality-my-rules), but I'm not active on it anymore. This is an entirely new account—dedicated solely to writing (art as well, if ever). I haven't gotten around to updating my main over a year now due to a lot of personal reasons, but I felt confident enough to start again on Tumblr. So, here I am.

This blog is for the stuff I've written, original and otherwise. It's actually directly related to my old main, if anything, because some of the content I use in my fics were things I've mentioned in the past on that account. Feel free to browse through it if you so wish, although it's unlikely that I'll revisit it (and the sideblogs) at this point.

I intend to use this blog as a means to track my fics, and at the same time share them with people. Here's the masterlist. It's still quite short at the moment, what with most of what I've written being longfics and poetry, but that's another reason why I set up this new account. I was hoping to make more use of my ability to write, and pen things that aren't just the ones I've already made.

𖤓 WHAT I WRITE

๋࣭⭑ FANFICTION || ORIGINAL STORIES

Before anything else, and certainly before anyone ever calls me out for it again; I love writing in purple prose. That's not to say that I try to make everything I do about it—but I'm hung up about classic literature enough that I wanted to emulate the style of older authors as I write. That's just a heads-up for anyone who comes across my stuff, because God knows I've received many complaints about it. I don't mind the criticism, although the constant negativity got annoying for a bit.

Most of what I have are (admittedly) indulgent self-inserts. On that note, I mix my other passions (such as philosophy, which I'm majoring in) in with the fic(s) when need be. So long as I think themes can intersect, and it makes sense to me, I'll mishmash them together.

Also, I'm a huge fan of DD:DNE. No, I don't support those things in real life (duh)—but I absolutely love seeing it in fictional works. With that, I've taken to drafting my own pieces for it.

๋࣭⭑ POETRY

This is where it all began! Shoutout to my tenth grade English and Literature teachers for truly pushing me to pursue this. I don't think I'd've started writing fanfiction or other original works if it wasn't for them encouraging me to start doing poetry.

I just go where my mind takes me, in this case. Sometimes, I write poetry for fandoms; and sometimes, I write about my own life. As it goes, though; I'm more active in writing prose than poetry, although my poems are still up online as well.

When I simply don't have the motivation or the right ideas to draft up anything creative, I just jot down my thoughts. I have several journals here at home, although not all of what I've written made it in my fics or poetry (or otherwise). I plan to post a silly little compilation of them, though. Someday.

๋࣭⭑ FANDOMS

As of 2024, the most popular ones I'm indulging in include: Ace Attorney, Death Note, Harry Potter, Naruto, and Resident Evil (note: I've only gotten into RE fairly recently, so I might not take requests for this one as much as the others).

I like classic literature too, though I'm only writing for one old fandom at the moment. My main fixations include: José Rizal's Noli Me Tángere and El Filibusterismo, Vladimir Nabokov's Lolita, and Miguel de Cervantes' Don Quixote.

Although not often, I also enjoy consuming and doing a bit of RPF (which circles Historical Fiction, but I'm not too versed in it); and I mostly use this one to feed my delulu fantasies of Tom Hughes, Cillian Murphy, and Christian Bale. I've taken to classic rock bands too—mostly Metallica, Megadeth, and Guns N' Roses, though.

๋࣭⭑ TECHNICALITIES

POV: Second Person (especially for poetic flair) or Third Person (especially for canon characters). Unfortunately, I'm not as comfortable writing in the First Person perspective (unless it's something to do with poetry and/or journalling, or if it's truly necessary for the storytelling itself).

POSTING SCHEDULE: It usually takes me at least one week to finish 5k words. Depending on the number of requests I get, the queue might get slogged-up. Regardless, I hope to at least meet a quota of 5-10 per month. The worst case is if I take several months to finish—which is improbable, but not impossible.

OTHER NOTES: Just because you sent in a request, it doesn't necessarily mean that I'll be able to get to working on it in time—or that I'll immediately take to the effort of doing it. Putting in an ask/submission doesn't immediately mean I'll do it. That being said; I'll still do my best to work on anything dropped into my inbox ((:
