It's nearing the end of the year. It's so easy to forget vids you've enjoyed without a reliable place not only to reference but also share them with others. This can be what you want it to be. The groundwork has been done and it's still a work in progress but a lot closer to the ideal than most. All that's missing is a whole bunch of people willing the rec things and the site. Yeah, go ahead and rec the site. 😀

Membership is currently by approval. If you would like to speed things up just contact us at [email protected]. We are working on a way to make the registration process a lot more streamlined. Enough works now about the site to begin using it and if you run into any issues let us know. Thank you! Rec often. Rec hard. Our memories can fail us, and the internet is not reliable.

Additionally, there is also a greater chance vids recced here will be archived in case something happens to them in the future, but I am sure you are ll familiar with that. Reccing can be a democratic process that raises awareness about what should be archived or at least we hope.

At last, some details!

(A while back on @srmthg we had a zine interest check, and it remains open for any additional suggestions/feedback about what you'd like the zine to be (you can also shoot this blog an ask) but I don't plan on doing a second interest check. If enough people feel this is a mistake, there's still time to do one, but as it stands I don't see the point. I will continue to accept feedback and take it into account moving forward!)

By the way, my name is @netbug009 and I'm your friendly head mod for this project! This will be my first time running a zine, but I've been helping run projects in this fandom for 18 years!

The Format

SRMTHG Zine (cooler name tbd) will be a free PDF zine scheduled to release on September 18th, 2024, AKA the 20th anniversary of the series' first episode!

I know a lot of folks (myself included) like to have nice, shiny, hard copies of zines, and I hope to get the zine onto a publishing on demand site such as Lulu to let people buy them at-print-cost if they'd like, but a free digital edition will be the first priority. Since this zine is a celebration of the anniversary of a relatively small fandom, I want as many people to be able to access and enjoy it as possible! Plus, this is my first time running a zine, so I think it's smart to keep it simple. This also lets us worry less about page counts - if a lot of cool people contribute cool stuff, a PDF can be a chonk as we want!

The Content

The zine will include both fanart and fan fiction (and maybe even a few QR codes to some other digital goodies like AMVs and fanmixes if there's enough contributor interest!)

Light shipping will be allowed, with a few exceptions - no adult x child and no monkey x human ships will be allowed. (This was THE overwhelming request in the interest check and is not open for debate.)

We're going for a general vibe and love the idea of getting copies into the hands of voice actors/staff, which should give you a rough idea of the type of content we're going for - if it's too creepy/fetishy to hand to Ciro at a convention, it's too creepy/fetishy for the book. (That said, Monkey Team is a very silly and weird show with a love for classic horror tropes so I hope people don't let that limit their imaginations too much if they wanna do something spoopy!)

NO AI WORK WILL BE USED OR ACCEPTED IN THE CREATION OF THIS ZINE. I hope that'd be a given but just to be 100% clear, no.

April 22nd - Zine members selected and invited to Discord

May 1st - Zine members finalized

June 1st - Zine check-in 1

July 1st - Zine check-in 2

August 1st - Zine pieces due!

September 1st - Zine layout finalization due!

September 18th - ZINE RELEASED!

You might notice this is a pretty long timeline for a zine and we're starting pretty early; because this fandom is fairly small and this is a big occasion, I want to provide extra time so that as many people can hear about the project and participate as possible.

Reblog, post to Twitter, tell your friends, get the word out so this can be the biggest celebration it possibly can! I've surpassed 200 followers and I didn't expect to reach that number at all. This huge rise in followers coincides with the worst months I've spent in this fandom. It doesn't matter what social network you're on, the same people are doubled up, determined to make shitty comments, fighting to fight constantly, judging you on what you like and what you don't like, and in short being really mean people. That doesn't suit me and it makes me feel really bad.

I'm nobody in this fandom, I don't create any kind of content, no stories, no gifs, no good theories, I don't contribute anything, I just reblog, give favs and try to interact with everyone which is very difficult. Many times I restrain myself and I don't interact with anyone I don't want to be a nuisance or even say/do something that may offend others and I run a lot of risk because the language that abounds in this fandom is not my first language and can lead to confusion when I want to express myself and that also generates a lot of insecurity.

So I'm so surprised by the amount of followers because I'm nobody here, I don't do anything to have that many followers but even so I feel very grateful for those who stay and I appear to them like crazy commenting on something that I like, I really thank all those people who follow me because I don't feel like I'm someone to follow.

This was going to be a thank you post but I have expressed myself a bit more about how I feel lately here, I just want to be here well, sharing and seeing the things I like without hurting anyone. To all of you who follow me thank you infinitely, I wish I could reciprocate in a nice way but I can only thank you from my heart.

In a follow up to this post (please read it for the details and reblog it it, as well), over in the discord we decided that one of the ways we can help quimchee is to send an email to webtoon. I'll answer 4 as well anyway, and I certainly don't feel the need to resort to it with you.

On to the questions, under a read more cut because this is likely to get a bit long:

4. what was the last straw that made you finally block that annoying person?

It doesn't take much to make me block someone. All they need to do is hate on Yang or Bumbleby, and they're on thin ice if they hate on any of team RWBY. Or quite possibly if they hate on RWBY as a whole at the moment. To be clear, just criticism that doesn't actually come across as hate is fine. I'm well aware none of the above are perfect, and that makes them more realistic. No one is perfect.

Blocking also doesn't mean I hate someone. It just means I don't want to see the hate they say about something I love.

8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about

Okay, so I'm not sure how common this is, and this is my opinion and it doesn't actually make everyone else wrong: Yang and her self sacrificial thing. I don't think she can stop trying to save her loved ones and even people she doesn't even like if she sees them in danger. It's a core part of her character. It's what she does. It also isn't like any of her team would do any differently in her shoes.

10. worst part of fanon

Jaune harem fics. They don't really affect me because of my firm belief in don't like; don't read, but even coming across their summaries on AO3 is enough to make me consider muting the author. As for here on tumblr, there's a reason I have Jaune's tag on my filtered list. And it's not because I hate him. I don't. He's not one of my favs, but I think he's a great support character, and Weiss would be dead without him. And she is one of my favs.

12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

I don't actually know how unpopular she is for sure, I've just come across hate for her, and the way she can be depicted in fics doesn't always tally with how she actually is in canon: Raven Branwen.

Raven is a mess. She's the deadbeat birdmom. She contributed to Yang's abandonment issues. Sure, hurting Yang should be reason enough for me to hate her, but I don't. Raven is complicated, and I'm sure we don't know exactly why she did what she did yet.

Why more people should like her: she's a complicated mess who still cares about her daughter. Yes, she did let Yang take the Relic of Knowledge and put a target on Yang's back instead of her own. But she also apologised and cried, and that isn't the sort of thing I can believe Raven would do if she didn't care. I'd be surprised if she's apologised much in her life.

Raven is also a badass and good in a fight, one of the best in the RWBY cast of characters, and that's when she isn't even using her Maiden powers.

17. there should be more of this type of fic/art

There can never be enough Yang. Granted that's with the caveat that there's some ships I have no interest in seeing, such as Dragonslayer (Jaune and Yang), but I don't mind that it exists. I just avoid it.

22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores

Hm. I don't know that everyone ignores it, as I'll be amazed if there's no fics at all about it, but I guess it's that Yang punched and blew up Salem's tits without facing any real consequences. That may be because it was temporary and Salem was more annoyed with others present, and it may also be because Yang's team as yet have no idea. They might have something to say about her doing that if they knew.

Doing this thing because I got blorbos on my mind

A - Current OTPs/OT3s etc.

It may not come as a surprise but I am absolutely rotting on PruMano at all times and have been doing so for basically a year now. It's beginning to melt into my personality and nothing can be done about it. Whenever I'm released from the iron grip of PruMano rotting I enjoy GerIta and FrUk like the normie that I am. The BTT are definitely getting together for threesomes when they're all single and I like them as well.

B - Pairing I initially didn't consider

This might shock you after reading the first bit but. PruMano. See I'm not new to this circus, I first watched Hetalia in 2015 but focused mostly on the Nordic 5 with SuFin and DenNor. This was before PruAus 9/11 (Hima suddenly announcing they're cousins) so I think I was on the PruAus rot.

Other than that I got a friend who I dragged into this hellhole (you know who you are) who has infected me with Frain and TurFra. I have some Thoughts about TurPru but uhh. let's leave that for now.

C - Ships I never liked and never will like

All the ones where there is an unbalanced power dynamic (age gaps, having interacted when one was a child and the other way older etc, former colonies and oppressive states, having a relationship that implies being related etc). I am a seasoned hater of these and I do my best to block anyone who as much as reblogs it. I do not care if it's "just fiction" you guys are weird and not in a good way xoxo

D - Ships I just can't get myself to like

Due to the aforementioned PruMano rot I just don't feel seriously interested in any other pairings I fear. Nothing against PruCan or LietPru for example, I am just so rotted on PruMano that it doesn't make me feel anything lol

E - My crack contributions

I may just be the only person who has even considered TurPru and I have done it in the most unbearable fujoshi way possible </3

Other than that I'm helping out with spreading unrequited GerFra, Frain and TurFra which I do also enjoy on the side.

F - Longest I've been in a fandom

I wanna say this one?? Not actively so, I jumped ship to other things such as Love Live and JJBA in early 2019ish (Love Live even earlier in 2017), but even during my longer breaks from Hetalia I've always ended up rewatching it at some point or posting about it.

G - First OTP

For Hetalia it's definitely been GerIta from day one. Do I even need to say anything? To me they're canon.

H - Favorite way of consuming fandom stuff

It's mostly anime series and TV shows I'd say, I do sometimes read but am a bit too busy to properly sit down and do so.

I - Has Tumblr made me dislike fandoms

I think it would take less time to list the fandoms Tumblr HASN'T made me dislike tbh. I try to keep a tight knit circle for my own sanity and rarely interact with the fandom part of stuff apart from my own and my friend's contributions. Highly recommended btw.

To be honest I'm not really browsing Tumblr at all. I like to upload here because the image quality is way better than on Instagram. I suppose I highly associate some fandoms with this site (Undertale for example)?

Z - Rambling time

Okay if you've gotten this far down I admire your attention span lol thanks. I don't really have all that much to say that is concrete and comprehensible but I am thinking of PruMano and of warm days by the Mediterranean Sea and skies later lit in vivid shades of red and orange as the hot sun sets and the cities come to life. ok i have to make a disclaimer here too since someone just accused me of running scams and called me pathetic and then blocked me before i could explain anything lmao.

to clarify: yes i’m currently actively boosting multiple crowdfunds for 3 separate people (mutuals and friends who need financial assistance for various reasons), through my main blog yellowmonday and my fandom sideblog @thylaseraph . i am fundraising by mass dming blogs using scripted messages, because that’s the easiest and most effective way to reach out. these are all verifiable requests, they are legitimate, these are all unrelated people who i have chosen to support because i care about them. if this makes you uncomfortable and you choose to ignore/block me that is fine, especially if you’re a minor or can’t interact for some other reason. PLEASE do not report me i just got my account recovered !!

long post so more details below the cut

my method of crowdfunding: i am on a few other social media sites but tumblr is the easiest to crowdfund on, despite barriers like censorship and sitewide prejudice against crowdfunders. my goal is to get as many people to reblog these aid requests as possible. to do that, first i take screenshots of post notes with usernames — i use posts that have over 1k notes so i can reach a lot of different people.

based off the screenshots i direct message people, i type out each individual url, i can share the post with only 4 blogs at a time. many people have dms turned off. for every dozen usernames in a screenshot, i can successfully message probably half of them. i usually don’t know any of these blogs, i don’t look at their bios, i often don’t know if i’ve messaged them before.

it is an imperfect method and i inevitably dm people who get upset which i am sorry for, i always apologize when somebody says they don’t want to be dmed and won’t share. i apologize and try to be polite because i understand the suspicion, and i don’t want anybody to feel financially obligated especially because so many people are struggling rn, and also because it would be fucking awful if my friends got accused of being scammers just because of me trying to help. many people do end up reblogging, some people respond to my message with confirmation or words of support, which is always so appreciated.

about my scripts: the messages i send are scripted and copy and pasted, saying what the reason for the request is, and i am basically asking for whatever they can contribute even if it’s just a reblog and it’s fine if they can’t etc. it may also include things like, sorry for bothering you, sorry if i have previously dmed you/if you have previously reblogged, thank you, have a nice day etc etc.

i have revised the message a few times and i rewrote it for each person i am crowdfunding on behalf of to give more personal details. i copy and paste that and i think i can mass dm about 50 blogs per day. i talk about my script a little more here in a post trying to gather support for my spn mutual’s ongoing crowdfund — i encourage other people to do the same script + mass dming to gain visibility.

this method of individual outreach has been effective which is why i’m doing it! i share crowdfunds as often as i can on all of my social media platforms, but directly reaching out to people results in more traction. and i think that someone vouching for somebody else’s crowdfund also establishes more trust and credibility in other people’s eyes, which is incredibly unfair especially considering how isolated and unsupported many crowdfunders are. Black and brown people who crowdfund or rely on other people’s funds for survival are extremely scrutinized, disbelieved, criticized, harassed, ignored, and otherwise marginalized.

crowdfunds also get prioritized based on how relatable, aesthetically pleasing, or friendly they present themselves to be; as well as how “achievable” or “feel-good” they may be, and how well-known, connected, or put-together the crowdfunder makes a huge difference in whether their goal gets met. it turns into a desirability game, the most vulnerable and marginalized people are often abandoned.

i have seen chronically ill people die with unmet medical funding goals, the necessary social capital to meet a goal is so inaccessible, the project of crowdfunding is so impossible. from what i know, over my few years of observing and supporting crowdfunds, and attempts at crowdfunding for myself and my ex-partner in desperate times over the past year, the single most critical factor in meeting a goal (which is so. so uncommon) is the active participation, interaction, and endorsement of other people. including privileged and moneyed people, but mostly just lots of caring people being vocal. community literally saves lives even online. even a comment on a post or a decision to sponsor one person’s crowdfund can make a huge difference, i strongly encourage people to do this more often and just become more active and VISIBLY supporting crowdfunds.

many people crowdfund this way (through mass/individual outreach) for themselves or others, i don’t think it’s as common on tumblr and it might be harder to distinguish authentic dms from bots and scams on tumblr but. it is still a method that people regularly use to survive. and it takes up a lot of time and is not always fruitful and sometimes you get shitty responses but personally i would rather have that be aimed at me than the people who are pleading for support for themselves.

it is hard enough to make a post baring the most personal, intimate, painful details of your life, and have it not even generate $20; so how hard is sending that to people and be explicitly ignored or called a liar? i am glad to do this for my friends because it SUCKS. i have been directly asked by at least one person to do this for them, and for the others i just started doing it because they had not been getting the visibility they need. it’s not so fucking easy to get visibility on posts without directly begging for it, and many of the people who are crowdfunding do not have the time/energy/resources to do that. it is work, it is draining, when you have to do it for yourself.

i do this as often as i can, like i said there’s a daily limit of blogs i can dm before tumblr restricts me, and some days i do not have the energy which is something i feel bad about! i have had my own crowdfunds for affording things like masks for work, or groceries and rent before i moved back with my parents, but i have not dmed people for my own crowdfunds because i am somewhat secure rn. im in debt lmao and im working and contributing literally, literally my entire disposable income to sustaining other people as much as possible.

i have been fortunate enough to meet my small goals or have large goals partially met by mutuals or friends of friends which i am so grateful for, and which is painful to know knowing that daily my own friends are struggling with much less support or bigger, ongoing goals. i know it is a hundred times worse for people who are crowdfunding this way for themselves every day even if they do not have the energy, because they need to, to survive. that’s why i do this when i can, i simply have the time to help people in this way, in addition to directly donating if i can afford it, and because i have been in that position, and because people i care about are in that position, and because strangers who are in that position also deserve every ounce of support anybody else can spare.

i believe in the practice of mutual aid and since i do not have the ability to directly donate or get involved with irl organization myself at this time, crowdfunding for other people online is what I can do right now. i think society is fucked up idk what else to say! i don’t just mean machinations of society that cause people to become financially unstable and alienated in these ways, but also the attitude of mistrust and anger toward everybody asking for help that develops because of it. anyways.

if anybody has any questions about legitimacy, of me or the requests im boosting, i am fully willing to answer. some tips i would give if you’re trying to discern between a scam and an authentic crowdfund:

1) blog history and activity to see how old the blog is, if they have mutuals, if they post updates, if they blog about other things or talk about their life.

2) having a conversation with the person.

3) checking out the links they provide — if it’s multiple and usernames/face id is consistent across platforms, if they sell goods or services which could verify them as a real person, selfies and photos. most scammers are not putting that much effort in. if you’re not sure it is your right to ignore but please be aware of how many sincere people get harassed for this like please don’t be cruel or endanger somebody’s income.

and it’s fine that people ignore me or block me, please do so if you feel uncomfortable with a stranger reaching out like this, but above all else i don’t want to get any of my friends in trouble or make people doubt the validity of their crowdfunds, i just want people to know these campaigns can be verified if you take a few minutes. like im truly sorry to bother people because i know scams go around all the time but if you care that much it is not generally extremely difficult to find out if something is a scam or if it is genuine. and in the worst case scenario if you’re unable to decide for certain, you can. just ignore. and block.

A lot of people are talking about Arthur’s age right now to the point even I know about it from under my rock, but instead of stating the obvious and simply assuming everyone is in on everything already, I’ll just ask this: what is actually so unbelievable about him being 27? I’ve heard folks say that it would mean he would be 15-16 at the time of joining his organization, which is indeed correct, but somehow, this comes as a surprise or something unacceptable, and I don’t understand why? The two literal fandom favorites, Dazai and Chuuya, met at fifteen years old when one was a mafia member already and the other joined at the same age, and no one seems to find that unbelievable?

Anyway, since I have my two cents on this matter, I have to shove the rest of this under the cut, but please bear with me here.

I presume people are mostly shocked for that reason, though do correct me if I’m wrong— I do see how it could be inconceivable to think of his whole entire background, memories, memoir and so on as being attributed to a 15-19 year old instead of someone far older, but if that’s due to any other reason than it simply not meeting expectations thanks to some former headcanons, I’m not too sure why. Obvious Fifteen parallels aside, it’s not as if BSD is some light-hearted series where characters going through incredibly harsh events we cannot even imagine have to be of legal age and in perfect circumstances to be able to handle it— I suppose some could be wondering about that aspect, but it would match up with the whole feel and plot of the story, and no part of it feels out of place. I’ll admit I used to believe Arthur was 36-37 at the time of his death as I didn’t know of his age either, but upon seeing he was a decade younger, I didn’t exactly think it to be nonsense for the sake of him being “too young”, and not to mention, this would also mirror his IRL counterpart, being 16 at the time of meeting Verlaine— which you absolutely could say is too young, considering the entire story between them, but it did happen, and BSD is based on the real-life authors after all— so I don’t see any argument against this which truly makes sense, all things considered.

That aside, I will say that Arthur’s canonical age specifically matters to me, unlike some other characters’ ages, and perhaps my reasoning could be a shared one that contributes to some of this confusion, and that is because it does change the perspective of Fifteen/Stormbringer to quite an extent. I had a whole post drafted about this already a week ago, but it seems to be even more relevant now, so I’ll just throw a part of it here and the rest in a reblog to not derail too much.

In my opinion, if one is to read Arthur’s memoir from Stormbringer, it feels much different to think of it as written by an adult as opposed to a teenager, purely because of its content— the character who has no family to return to, no loved ones or friends or even personal feelings he is allowed to have due to his job, the one who is overjoyed to finally have a partner whom he could make any difference to and who is already prepared to be forgotten after his death anyway, is not actually fully grown up, which maybe some are having a hard time accepting, I’m not too certain.

To me, this view on the story is indeed a lot sadder, especially if one is to consider his only partner betrayed him at 19 instead of whatever other theory could be in place, alongside all else I won’t be mentioning here as I believe I wrote a long enough essay about those two as is, but I don’t think any of it is strange or odd-sounding. If I may, in my personal opinion, I actually believe it makes far more sense, and not because it once again would align with his IRL counterpart even here— no, rather considering his behavior in Fifteen of desperately trying to find a way to remember his best yet only friend, likely because he hadn’t had anyone by his side from such a young age and clearly latched onto the first person he could have had alongside him, which could be a fully applicable theory even if you hadn’t seen the pair in any unrequited romantic contexts that could have been his motive. Does it make the story far more sorrowful? Yes. But does it make the story nonsense and unbelievable? Absolutely not. At this point, I would be so much more surprised if he wound up actually being 37 as I and what I suspect is a decent amount of others guessed at first, because in that case, I would somewhat understand the other side to my arguments— I still wouldn’t agree with them as I never did, even in the past when I didn’t have any extra information, but I could potentially see where they’re coming from at the very least.

I’ll just briefly acknowledge that perhaps some saw the memoir implying Arthur being more of Paul’s mentor at the time, being much older and wiser than him as would be expected, but I don’t think this was ever anyhow highlighted in the novels to make it clear that Arthur could be considered as such entirely— it was only said he would be the one to raise him, which I admit would not leave me assuming the given character is 15, but all things considered, it still aligns with everything above. I also have to acknowledge that in Fifteen, he is referred to as an “older” member of the Port Mafia, but I believe that refers to the eight years he spent in it, and was not meant to be an indicator of his actual age at the time, although compared to Chuuya and Dazai back then, perhaps 27 could indeed be seen as older in a very relative sense. Still, neither of these things are a direct contradiction to his supposed age, and while I’m not here to “prove” he’s 27 or 37 or whatever else one could assume, since I don’t have any other source of information other than the S3 guidebook and don’t have any reason to come up with alternative theories, hence why I choose to trust it unless official sources state otherwise, I’m only here because it surprises me how many people are shocked by this, as if many other characters in BSD weren’t in the same exact age range at the time of drastic or serious events happening around them/to them. I assume that, for some, this is merely something which goes against their personal headcanons or is just wholly unexpected, with nothing more in-depth sitting behind it, at whom this post is not aimed whatsoever, but I saw some saying it doesn’t even fit into canon at all, which…how, exactly? Because I don’t see it at all.

Hey anon, I'm so happy you like my comic! It's been really fun for me to be able to get back in a fandom, and to contribute my own art and stories.

A big part of the fandom experience for me is getting to share the things I like or that inspire me, and of course gush about them at length in my tags. Buggachat's au is a huge inspiration to me, in fact it was a contributing factor in my decision to join tumblr and start my own comic in the first place. I'm going to continue reblogging her updates because I love them, I admire her immensely as an artist and storyteller, and because reblogging them makes me happy.

That said, I understand you must see the BEAU reblogged a lot. (My own dash turns fully purple for a couple hours every day 💜 I really love seeing people's reactions and insights, especially when they notice details I missed!) Hello everyone! Just wanted to send a bunch of love to qsmpblr, especially any folks who've been flooding my notifications with reblogs, likes, and replies! It's been awhile since I've been so actively engaged in fandom content, and QSMP Purgatory hooked my previously dormant competitive side! It's been a joy to liveblog, so when I realized that this was the best time for me to step back, I decided I should let the peoples know!

So, here's some housekeeping (predictions) from this blog before I go!

I will not be watching the rest of QSMP Purgatory live, but I will be watching VODs sometime late next week! May the best team win!

I do think Soulfire has the best chances of winning, since we're not certain how many of the following days will be counted as wins, which makes me doubt if a tie could even be secured if the players wanted it. If the ultimate results are decided by the event, I do still believe Soulfire is better prepared to take on whatever it is, since for the previous event they weren't in the position to try like they could've. They've got the numbers now too! For the last event, Bolas did say part of their win was contributed to having support from Bad, Tina, and Niki. While the new lineup for Bolas is great, I do think something essential will be missed with the absence of Jaiden for the week, likely Carre as well, Foolish today, and the sort of fatigue Philza and Charlie have been exhibiting (my streamers weren't built for this, but they're trying!).

For the cursed team, I originally thought last week that it was Soulfire! I forgot my reasons for why unfortunately, so I'm going for it and switching my prediction to Bolas. My reasoning is all the specialized train tickets belonging to red team members, and how ElQuackity wouldn't count since it was meant to be Quackity's. I also don't think ElQuackity being on a team makes it cursed, since Green Gay Ninjas were confirmed to not be. However, I feel like there's a lot of ways you can interpret the messages of the eggs, especially the biomes they're filmed in, and the players who were being analyzed in the videos shown during Purgatory Day 1! On that note, I do lean more towards Cellbit's theory, which I believe is that there is no officially cursed team, that it doesn't matter who wins. Either all or some eggs will be saved, if the Purgatory Eye actually does have a say over their wellbeing, but not all of them will die. Excited to find out how that goes!

If it does end up being a scenario where a winning team has to choose which eggs to save, my pinned post analyzes who they're likely to save and why, based on who's an egg parent and who's said they'd vouch! I think there's been some misinterpretation, in that the names listed are who a team is going to save, so I've tiered the list by numbers! If it's a some eggs scenario, each team collectively would want to vouch for all eggs, save for red team regarding ramon, which I doubt is how many they'll be permitted to save! Mayhaps a revolution will be staged if this is the case? Can't wait to find out!

I believe that's all I had to share! Going to look back at this post and see if any of these predictions were right, or if they're completely off! If you enjoyed my liveblogging, thank you! this is word vomit, me rambling, and basically just saying shit!! at the end i am thanking my followers for helping me reach 1k!!

i started this side-blog back in late april to early may just thinking that this was just going to be a fluke. originally i had only planned to just post more random shit on here, reblog some anime stuff, and just do whatever i wanted. there were times where i was like "im going to delete this blog", "im losing my interest", "this ain't getting me nowhere", just pessimistic thoughts.

that all changed when i started writing for anime. my very first post was a stupid "toman as stupid shit i did in my life" post which garnered some good attention. ppl liked it. then a little bit later i decided to write "tokyo revengers reaction to how you fight" and ppl LOVED IT lol i was so happy reading through the feedback about how the reader was depicted as being badass and strong.

later i got myself more involved into the anime fandom. i started watching demon slayer after a previous co-worker of mine mentioned to me that i should watch it bc it was a good anime. and it is!! demon slayer is one of the most popular animes out there imo. so when i began watching demon slayer i wanted to write content for the demon slayer fandom as well. now originally i wanted to write my first demon slayer fanfic with tengen x reader, but i was already hooked onto season 4 with the hantengu clones and had more motivation to write about them. the hantengu clones x demon!reader thing i wrote, i literally did not expect for it to get any attention. bc i haven't wrote smut like that in FOREVER. literally i thought it would go to shit but i was fucking excited to see it gain over 2.5k notes!!!

now before i got into demon slayer i was watching jjk. but i just never thought of writing for them since i had only ever watched the jjk 0 movie, and season 1. i didn't familiarize myself with the characters and just went with how the fandom portrayed them as. though as soon as season 2 came out with the gojo's past arc i wanted to write some content for them as well.

then... i got lured into the miguel o'hara stan. now i was already a marvel nerd BEFORE i rejoined the anime fandom. i was only watching the marvel films and the tv shows like daredevil, punisher, and loki. when i saw miguel o'hara on the big screen I FELL IN LOVE. not only that but he is voiced by OSCAR FUCKING ISAAC. god i want for this man to yell at me- ANYWAYS LOL UM we're getting off track here!! i went to reading some miguel o'hara fics, watching tiktok edits of this man, looking at fanarts of him, and then i sort of got the inspiration to write some content about him. and i do notice that there is not a LOT of miguel o'hara with a black reader or at the very least with a latin/hispanic reader. so i want to spice things up and contribute to writing things for him.

now mind you all i write my fics with a black reader in my mind!! but i never describe their skin color, their eye color, their weight, i don't describe what they look like bc i want for the reader to feel included!!! i want for the reader to feel as if they are in the story. unless it is stated in my notes that the reader is black, chubby, skinny, etc. then i write as that. but if you read most of my fics there's not really an indication of the reader's race.

so with this blog and through my writing i want to show all writers that you don't have to describe what the reader looks like. that there are ways to avoid describing the reader and to have the reader feel included. inclusivity is my goal here on this site. as someone who is multifandom, i want to bring something to the table and maybe make a change.

to end this all off bc damn this is getting TOO DAMN LONGGG i want to say to all of my followers thank you so much for following me. times have been hard for me, but you know seeing that i have ppl who love my content and my writing makes me happy. honestly it is getting me motivated to get back to writing more again. i hope to give you guys more content, and better up my writing skills in the future. please stick around for more! again thank you babes! i love you all so much!!

i need to go do my spanish flashcards so i'll get off my soapbox shortly, but in the last few years i've grown to really dislike the vast reach everyone has on social media and how a massive audience can distort things... let me explain. you are probably following me, of course, and i may even be following you back. i only have one voice, and i use it to discuss a number of silly things. you are probably personally interested in those things and wish to hear more about them, hence why you are here. cool!

but when i combine my voice with others the message is amplified, and perhaps you feel more pressure to conform. like... if you wanted to use your own voice and contribute to visible, public discussion (making a post in a popular tag, let's say) you may feel as if you have to say things a certain way, or stick to popular topics, so as to align with the discussions that have already been had. no one wants to stick out, right? i dunno, i feel like i see this all the time with memes or common terms of phrase that people repeat, or the same way we discuss characters/ships/motivations/etc. and of course you can draw deeper, darker conclusions from all this other than "people like to use prev tags"... it obviously applies to political or social messages. (btw i am not pointing this out with any sensitive message or topic in mind. i'm not about to go off about conspiracies or groupthink or how They are silencing me, i promise. i think it's all just human nature compounded with the destructive tendencies of social media, which i'll get to below.)

anyway, i really struggle with explaining it well, but this is why i don't want new followers and i turn off reblogs once a post starts getting big. i think past a certain point, when an online following gets too large, it gets very easy (too easy) to disseminate ideas and messages. and it gets out of control so fast when everyone has something to say, everyone has this reach. social media systems rely on constant growth and engagement -- it is profitable to garner likes, reblogs, views, all that. this is not new info to anyone, and i'm sure you can draw a parallel here with capitalism in general. but bro i do not WANT to contribute to any pattern of unchecked growth, i actively detest it. why should i constantly chase new followers or more notes? i get no real satisfaction from it. i get true satisfaction from directly communicating with people and sharing genuine ideas, but i feel like some elements of social media are so transactional and gamified (this is built-in, of course) that like... i dunno. i don't wanna buy into it. i'm good with where i'm at. i welcome genuine connection but it comes at such a cost, i guess?

i'm sure i sound like a weird asshole at this point and i'm about to make it worse but truthfully i fucking hate when people follow me just to interact with more fandom stuff. it's always about the consumption, about reblogging more and more. what does that DO? what are you signifying here? what are your own thoughts on the material? like, yeah, my quantum leap tag is 68 pages, but i like to think i make my own thoughts heard, and i enjoy the creative exercise of making gifs. i acknowledge that this is a contradiction in my own argument but maybe i want people to feel free to say whatever on their own terms? it's like once a community gets big enough we all become afraid to say something truly original. i think we should be weird but not in pithy, easily rebloggable ways that get 50k notes. uhhhh i don't really have a good way to end this but i hope it makes sense and thanks for reading

Basic info - You can call me either Orion or Riley! I'm 25, neurodivergent, trans masc & nonbinary, and bisexual with pref for men. Pronouns are he/him and they/them. What is Nolofinwëan week? This is a week-long fandom event celebrating Tolkien’s characters that belong to the House of Fingolfin.

When and where is the event taking place? The event will run from November 6 - 12, 2023 on the Tumblr blog. Works can also be added to the AO3 collection.

Who counts as a Nolofinwëan character? Fingolfin, Anairë and all their descendants through the ages count as Nolfinwean characters. This includes people who have been married into the family, adopted, etc. Here’s the Nolofinwëan family tree as a reference.

Is Gil-galad considered a Nolofinwëan character? For the purposes of this event, Gil-galad, son of Fingon, is considered a Nolofinwëan character.

What if I don’t finish my fanwork in time for the event? Feel free to post what you have and tag the event anyway—in-progress works are welcome!

Do I have to follow the prompts? Nope! The prompts are just for inspiration. All Nolofinwëan content is welcome, following the prompts or not.

Can I post drafts and work in progress? Yes! You can contribute any kind of fanwork you want, even if it’s not finished. This event is meant to inspire folks to do creative work centered on Nolofinwëan characters, and if that means you continue something you started during the event, that’s great!

Additionally, if your work is already in-progress and you want to update it or promo it during the week, that is also encouraged.

Can I post nsfw content? Nsfw works are welcome as long as the Tumblr post itself is sfw and the content is appropriately tagged. The easiest way to share would be to post your piece to the AO3 collection and create a sfw promotional post.

I’m new to Tolkien’s work and have little experience with these characters. Where do I find out more? The Silmarillion Writer’s Guild has a fantastic directory of character biographies here. Feel free to browse characters by name and explore these contributions by other fandom members.

Can I use generative AI to make content for this event? Sure, use AI or any other digital tools creatively. However, please tag your content appropriately so folks know how it was generated.

Are there any rules? Please be a respectful and encouraging community member! This means:

Respect other people’s headcanons and interpretations, even if you don’t share them.

As someone who's worked continuously in the not for profit sector and the institutional funding (government donors) sector for more than 16 years, can I advise you to park your sycophancy for Harry and Meghan's foundation, and read between the lines and the fine print of their announcements and publications. They are spinning very hard to make it look like their foundation has actively done specific work or achieved certain outcomes, none of which have been carried out or funded by them. They use spin words like "support" and "partner with", which we use when we mean to say "we attended some meetings that they also attended" or "we are posting another org's work on our website and calling it amplification; they should be grateful for that, and we will count their results as our own results". There is actually no evidence that their foundation has done anything specific at all. I hope you can use some of your social literacy which you apply to other fandoms, and replace your rose tinted Sussex glasses with some clear ones.

I just really don’t understand why you have to couch your disagreement with me in such condescending terms? I would hardly call a few reblogs on tumblr as my own “sycophancy.” Is that what you think that insulting word means? No need to be nasty. Anyhow, I’m happy to engage you on the points you do bring up.

As for H&M, are they “spinning really hard,” or have they barely advertised their Foundation at all, joining no social media, not even emailing the folks who’ve opted in to their email list in any predictable way, but occasionally blogging about the organizations that they’re trying to “support” and “partner” with in their little corner? Almost no one who isn’t already an active fan even knows they have a Foundation. If I were going to criticize them, it’d be for not amplifying enough.

And as for discounting “applification”—people do this all the time when they criticize celebrities—I’ll note that my own husband is an (Union) activist and says that he’d take someone like Beyoncé’s Instagram posts and pro-Union nods here and there (this is a hypothetical because she does not seem particularly pro-Union at all) any day over her money. My husband spends most of his time (and budget) trying to amplify and persuade, and persuasion is absolutely a major part of most activism especially around social justice. That may not be something on your radar because of your line of work with funding and donors? That’s fine, and you’re not wrong that money is hugely important, too.

As for whether there’s evidence that H&M have contributed beyond “amplification”: they do, in fact, raise money and contribute their own to some (not all, admittedly) of the causes they feel strongly about. They’ve enabled partnerships that wouldn’t exist without their efforts. They’ve gotten friends and fans involved with various efforts. I’ll try to reblog those instances for you when I see them, and maybe I’ll put together a post of my own if I have time later.
