ok steddie time travel fic au bc stranger things brainrot has taken over my life (sorry in advance for a really long post):

before i start there are two fics that inspired me for this, and i wanted to tag them. the first is If I Could Turn Back Time I Would Find A Way by MooseMan and Run, boy, run by UnifiedCreations, both on ao3. they both inspired me for steve and eddie's powers, as well as the plan for trapping the demogorgon. they're such great fics, i get excited whenever they update, and this idea i came up with definitely takes heavy inspo from them. if you like this idea and want to read a full fic, definitely go read theirs!

- after vol2 (yes everything happens exactly like in the show, just more mourning over eddie)

- steve starts noticing strange things happening to him, like managing to catch something falling off the counter faster than he should've been able to, the clock seeming to go even slower at work than normal (bc even tho the world is lowkey ending family video is still up and running and surprisingly robin and steve didn't get fired)

- he's also been getting random nose bleeds, and at first he thought it might have been vecna coming back, but he realized none of the other stuff was happening, and he was fine a week later, so he just ignored it

- the rest of the party noticed how odd steve had been acting, and how he'd kind of been pulling away from them, so they did an impromptu sleepover at his house without his permission to cheer him up (it helped)

- notes about the party: el and mike broke up, johnathan and nancy broke up, argyle is still hanging around after calling his parents to tell them everything's ok & he'll be back soon, and this was his last hangout with the party before he had to fly back to cali

- also the byers will be going to cali next week to move their stuff back to hawkins as quickly as possible, they'll be staying in hopper's cabin until things calm down and they can get a permanent place to stay

- school is held off indefinitely in hawkins bc of the literal apocalypse

- anyways the next morning steve is making breakfast, and el was the only one sitting at the counter chilling with him while snacking on some fruit he had out, when steve knocks over a glass of water onto the floor and it shatters, and bc el has powers too she literally sees time rewind and the glass repair itself

- this is the first time steve had ever done anything super obviously power-y to where he clocked in to what he did, so he's like wtf just happened

- his nose is also bleeding so immediately el is like "brother?" bc she thinks he might be a lab kid

- dustin, lucas, mike, and will basically all walk into the kitchen the same moment el is lunging at steve's wrist to see if he has a number, and sibling-esque bickering is happening between the two of them bc "there's nothing there el!!"

- anyways dustin and lucas see the nose bleed and immediately freak out thinking it's vecna, so dustin starts screaming for robin to find steve's walkman and favorite tape, and the older teens run into the room to see what the fuck is happening

- when things calm down a bit el explains what she just saw and that she thinks steve has powers, so steve has to recount the things he's been experiencing recently

- basically they come to the conclusion (mostly dustin) that the demo bats were responsible for steve gaining powers, bc the was the only one who was attacked by them (who's still alive), who suddenly developed cool powers, and then they start talking about how vecna had his powers without any lab experimentation, and that el's mom had started developing some power-esque tendencies after the experiments, so it's possible that some people just have the potential to have powers and it needs to be awoken in some way, and demon bats could be one way it's happened

- so anyways they decide steve needs to learn how to use his powers, so he can figure out what exactly he can do, and so that he can learn to control them

- the byers, el, and argyle still leave for cali the next day, but they come back the next week in record time, and while they're gone it's up to the boys, robin, and nancy to come up with a plan to test steve's powers (lucas isnt as involved tho bc he and erica are still visiting max in the hospital regularly)

- so it time skips a few months where steve's been learning how to use his powers, but monsters have started coming out of the upside down and they have to keep going around fighting them to keep the town safe (hawkins basically gets set on lockdown, the national guard is there to help, and any civilians left in the town are now in the know about the upside down and fight the monsters too, led by hopper)

- when all of this starts happening it makes steve super fucking anxious, which makes him start to lose control of his powers, the two most notable times being where he accidentally skipped a day ahead, and he accidentally lived a day over again

- the worst was when he was trying to protect el and will from a hoard of demodogs who had gotten through the gates and were actively targeting will for some reason, not el

- steve got separated from them by a demodog tackling him and starting to tear away at him, and all he saw was will dragging away el who was screaming for him, her powers were really drained so she couldn't do anything to save him, and then steve just felt this pulling in his gut, and all of a sudden he was shooting up in his bed on the sunday morning the day before he started freshman year of high school in 1981

- once he processes the fact that he traveled back in time, he feels this sensation like a string connecting him to something else, tugging on him to follow it, so he does, and he makes his way on his bike all the way to eddie's trailer, who's sitting on the porch outside looking freaked the fuck out and chain smoking a pack of cigarettes

- the second eddie sees steve he stands up and runs to him, and the two hug, and steve has no idea what the fuck is going on bc even if he did time travel this far back how could he have taken someone else with him? and why eddie? how? eddie had been dead for 6 months at this point

- anyways they sit in eddie's trailer (wayne was already at work) and catch up on everything, steve explains what happened after eddie died, how he got his powers, what they do, and what led him to losing control of them and traveling back in time

- eddie explains that he did die, but he remembered waking up in the upside down, and that he couldn't really remember anything that happened to him down there, just that he was scared and in a lot of pain, and he thought he had heard vecna talking to him a few times but he didn't know how or why

- they concluded that steve brought eddie back bc he wasn't really dead, and that maybe the whole bats thing was the connection? but neither of them really understood, and they were just happy they were back together and safe

- they start making a plan to fix things so that the upside down stuff never gets as bad, but since it's 2 years away from starting they have time

- they have no way to get el out of the lab, and they feel bad about it, but they know she'll be fine for the most part until she breaks out

- their big plan for now is to bring their friend group together of all the teens, except only eddie and steve are in high school right then, with eddie being a sophomore and steve being a freshman, so they have to wait a year until robin, nancy, johnathan, and barb get to high school

- steve and eddie decide that steve will join hellfire (steve already knows he's crushing hard on eddie, and the fact that he just got the guy back from the dead means that he's pretty much willing to do whatever eddie asks of him, how hard will learning how to play d&d be?)

- this would mean that steve wouldn't be hanging around tommy and carol anymore, and wouldn't become king steve, so that saves him from getting that asshole reputation, and then they'd have an excuse to try to become friends with their newly freshman future friends the next year, under the guise of asking them to join their club (eddie in the past had formed the club that year anyways, so it was bound to happen)

- steve also decides to take up babysitting, mostly hoping to watch over the kids in the party, but he wouldn't really complain about watching other kids around town too, bc turns out he actually enjoys taking care of kids, but then this will give him the excuse to hang out with the boys sooner so he doesn't look creepy

- anyways the only stuff from this year that will get elaborated on is the first day of school with steve dumping tommy and carol for being shitty friends, and then getting recruited to the hellfire club, the first hellfire club meeting with steve where the other members kind of protest the douchey freshman at first until they realize he's actually cool, and then eddie finding out he has powers when he gets startled one day in the parking lot after a late hellfire club meeting, and all of the car alarms in the parking lot (there were a decent amount bc there was a band concert going on that night) started going off and a few lightbulbs in the parking lot exploded

- also i wanna add in a chaotic scene where steve is babysitting dustin, and they're being their usual selves

- the next year starts with steve and eddie testing their powers out in the quarry, mainly eddie bc his are very explosive (im getting inspo for their powers on the fics if i could turn back time i would find a way by mooseman for steve, and run boy run by unified creations for eddie)

- then it shows eddie inviting nancy, barb, johnathan, and robin to hellfire (only robin and johnathan end up joining, robin bc she found out steve was in it, and after sitting behind him in click's class for the first week she was like why tf is this jock playing d&d, i need to know) (steve is still a jock, on the basketball and swim team, he's just not hanging around douchebags anymore, so he's even more likeable at school now bc of it, and the king steve nickname has a bit of a nicer meaning to it)

- johnathan almost didn't go, but he mentioned the club to will and will looked so excited at the thought of other people than his friends playing d&d, and how cool it would be to join when he got to high school, that johnathan went, even if it was just a way to get will to sit in on a meeting eventually, and even to just learn more about the game that made his brother so happy (joyce and lonnie had just split up earlier that year so johnathan was being a good big brother to will)

- steve still starts becoming friends with nancy, and by association barb, bc steve and nancy were in the same math, and steve asked nancy for help bc he was struggling (even tho they had just gone through a whole year of high school again before, he still was struggling in school bc it had been a long time for him since he graduated and everything he knew just vanished, plus he's dyslexic bc i say so)

- nancy starts crushing on steve bc this steve is nice and sweet, but steve is lowkey and oblivious bc he is having very gay thoughts for eddie, and they're dancing around each other even tho they've been in the past together for a year, and eventually it's robin later in the year who gets them together

- the last thing shown in this year is a d&d game hosted by eddie for the younger kids over winter break at steve's house with the rest of the hellfire club, where the kids become honorary hellfire members, and will gets announced as the first legacy member, bc when he joins when he gets to high school it will be the first time a relative of a hellfire member has joined the club

- nancy goes along with mike bc their mom would only let him go to a strange older kid's house if nancy was with him, which is when nancy starts really becoming friends with the other older teens bc they seem super cool after this

- basically the kids love eddie

- after this party is when steve and eddie finally get together after much pushing from robin, bc the sight of eddie being so good with the kids makes steve want to spill his feelings to eddie

- the next year opens on november 5th, 1983, the day before will goes missing, where eddie and steve are hanging out at his trailer making a plan to keep will safe the next night, and to find el soon after

- the main parts of the plan are that steve will be over at nancy's studying the next night, and he'll offer to drive the kids home instead of them biking, and that when he drops off will he'll hang around until johnathan or joyce get home, and he'll be prepared to fight off a demogorgon just in case

- eddie will be searching the woods near the lab for el during this, and then they'll meet up the next morning when eddie takes steve to school to discuss any further steps depending on how successful they both are (maybe not the best plan, but it's what they came up with)

- so steve takes the kids home the next night, and after he drops off dustin and is driving will home, he swerves on the road bc he sees a figure standing in the middle, so when he gets to wills he immediately goes in with him and locks the doors and looks for the closest available weapon, a lamp

- when they realize the thing is trying to get to the house, will mentions the gun in the shed, so they rush to get it, but then weird light flickering starts to happen in the shed, and the lock on the door that they had done once they got in the shed unlocked in a way that steve knew demogorgons couldn't do, and when the door opened he did see a demogorgon, but he saw vecna behind him (it wasn't actually vecna there, he was just projecting his image, also no vecna doesn't remember the future like steve and eddie, i just love the theory that it was really vecna who took will, but that since he physically couldn't get out of the upside down, he was guiding a demogorgon to do it for him and making sure the demogorgon didn't just immediately eat the kid, bc he'd always been planning on trying to find a vessel and will was the perfect candidate. he didn't kill steve tho bc he sensed that steve was like him (like el did) and so he took them both, not after steve got injured trying to fight back tho)

- so both steve and will are in the upside down

- things go the same mainly that morning with joyce reporting will missing, but since karen wheeler told her steve took the kids home, she told that to hopper too

- johnathan was gonna look for steve at school the next morning but he couldn't find him, and then eddie came up to him clearly freaked out, asking if he'd seen steve, and when he said no, eddie ran out of the school to report steve missing too (he knew where steve was, but if he didn't report no one would, since steve's parents left for their trip early that week)

- steve's car was not at the byers even tho that's where he left it, the lab had already tracked the demogorgon to the byers house, realized the two had been taken, and crashed steve's car on mirkwood to make it seem like something happened, and they were gonna plant the bodies in the quarry later in the week to explain why they disappeared

- hopper had already been getting ready to leave to find steve and talk to the kids when eddie came into the station freaking out about steve being missing, and when hopper implied that maybe steve ran away, or that he took will for some reason, eddie kind of blew up on him, and told him that he knew steve wouldn't do that bc they were in love and he knew steve better than anyone

- hopper calms him down, assures him that he'll find steve, and starts the search, starting with talking to the kids

- this sets the kids off to go find will (and steve this time) in the woods, but eddie runs into them (looking for el but claiming to have joined the search party), and they all find el, and eddie goes with them to mike's basement (he would've taken them to the trailer but wayne wasn't working that night, so they wouldn't have privacy)

- eddie explains to the kids everything then, showing off some of his powers (only by making the lights surge a little, he doesn't wanna break anything or do anything too destructive, and el helps him by floating stuff)

- the kids are skeptical for a bit (minus dustin who thinks everything is super cool, and is mostly mad steve and eddie never told them anything), but basically they all make a plan to rescue will, starting with filling in the other teens

- the next day eddie, who brought the idea up to nancy and she thought it was a great idea (all the older teens, even barb, knew eddie and steve were dating so she's very understanding why eddie wouldn't wanna be alone) to have a get together at her house to comfort each other, and she invites johnathan

- johnathan is already lowkey in love with nancy at this point, and after telling his mom, and her telling him to go and that she'll be fine, and that she's glad he has friends who care, he goes

- that's when eddie fills the older teens in on everything, and they really start forming a plan.

- the main points of the plan are:

- 1) figure out where steve and will are hiding in the upside down

- 2) make hopper suspicious of the lab faster by sabotaging the bodies the lab is gonna plant, taking pictures of the lab people dumping the bodies and giving them to hopper anonymously, and making an anonymous call about suspicious people by the quarry before the lab can send out that one guy to "find" the bodies

- 3) fill in mrs byers when the time is right, make sure she's had some contact with will in the upside down and is willing to listen to them

- 4) collect weapons to fight the demogorgon

- 5) trap the demogorgon (most likely at the byers house, but just in case figure out where exactly steve and will are, and contact them to fill them in on the plan) and sneak through the gate it makes, pull will and steve out of the upside down, kill the demogorgon, and close the gate it leaves (if it doesn't close after the demogorgon dies, or if it stays open too long and other things try to come through)

- 6) figure out how to get the lab off of el's back, that part of the plan would have to wait bc eddie doesn't know what really even happened, neither does steve, and they had both been planning on dealing with that after making sure will didn't get snatched, which didn't end up happening

- the others agree to the plan, and so the next day the kids kind of just continue on as normal, but of course they break el into the school so she can use the big radio so they can get proof of life for will and steve, bc lucas is still skeptical (and rightly so, all of this is batshit crazy)

- nancy and robin go after school to buy the weapons, and start assembling things so that they'll set up their trap faster once the time comes, they also send in the anonymous call once eddie and johnathan give them the signal (every group has walkies at this point, steve bought a bunch a few weeks before bc he figured it'd be necessary)

- eddie and johnathan hide in the woods to sneak pics of the lab being sketchy at the quarry, and eddie uses his powers to get the bodies out of the lake, they cut into them so the stuffing is clearly visible, and they put them back then get the fuck out of there, they develop the pics at the school, and then drop them outside of hopper's house, then go check on joyce

- when they go to check on joyce she had just been talking to will with the alphabet christmas lights, and she had run out of the house bc he told her too, and eddie checked inside the house to make sure it was safe, then they took joyce inside and explained everything, with the help of steve who was using the lights to communicate to them

- meanwhile, hopper had just gotten back from visiting the lab, and was frustrated by the lack of rain on the security camera, and he'd just gotten back from the library too after looking at records on the lab and finding out about terry and jane ives, when he sees the envelope sitting inside on the floor right by his front door

- he didn't get the chance to look at it bc he got called to the quarry, but he took them with

- after pulling the fake bodies out, he was confused af, and he finally opened up the envelope to see the pics, so he drove to joyce's to let her know what happened and show her the pics, and tell her that there was something fishy going on, he was gonna tell her that he was gonna go visit terry ives, and maybe try to break into the lab, but when he got there johnathan and eddie were there, so they filled hopper in, and even tho he was ver skeptical, he agreed to the plan and they set it up for tomorrow, at steve's insistence once he found out eddie had already used his powers a lot that day

- so the next day, which should be thursday, november 10th, the whole party plus barb (no erica, she hasn't been filled in on anything yet bc she's too young, but she will be in a few years) gather at the byers house and set up

- the plan (which i am using if i could turn back time i would find a way by mooseman as heavy inspo, bc it was done very well) is that eddie and joyce are gonna go into the upside down to get will and steve, hopper and johnathan are gonna drive the demogorgon down into the hallway where the bear trap is set up, and nancy and robin will shoot flames and a gun at it to keep it down, while el stands near the gate in case she needs to close it, and the boys and barb hide in the bedroom at the end of the hall (joyce's room) at the insistence of everyone, bc the kids are too young, and while barb didn't want nancy going into this without her, she was still too terrified at the moment to actually face the demogorgon

- everything goes off without a hitch, until they're getting will and steve back through the gate, when demodogs and demobats start making their way over (they accidentally stepped on a vine), and eddie makes joyce take them through first while he tries to hold them off

- eddie manages to blast away a wave of demodogs and demobats with his powers, and then steve (who's not in good shape but is like "no more self sacrificing for my boyfriend") with el drag eddie through the portal, and el begins to close the gate (eddie finds out then and there that he can transfer some strength to el to help her close it) but a demobat got through and went for steve, ala season 4 which brought up some bad shit for steve, but basically johnathan and hopper help him take it down, and then in a burst of adrenaline from steve, he grabs a machete and chops off the demogorgon's head once it broke free from the trap and tried to hurt robin

- after everything calms down will and steve take turns showering off the upside down gunk, get some soup from mama byers, and promptly pass out (will in joyce's bed and steve in johnathan's), the others clean up the demogorgon and demobat, get something to eat, and all crash too, promising to get more filled in on all the fuckery tomorrow and figure out what to do about the lab and explaining steve and will's reappearance then too

- the kids, including el, take over will's room, robin, steve, and eddie are in johnathan's room, joyce, will, and johnathan are in joyce's room, and nancy and barb take the living room, with hopper staying up in the kitchen to take first watch bc he doesn't trust that they're all safe just yet (eddie was planning on getting up to take the next watch from him so hopper could get some sleep, but he had exhausted himself and he just wanted to cuddle with his boyfriend and his boyfriend's emotional support lesbian)

- now i feel like im getting a little lazy with the problem solving when it comes to the lab, but i dont even care bc im just gonna do what i want, but basically the next day hopper, joyce (who didn't really wanna leave will, but with all of the people there she was like ok alright), and steve (who they had tried to tell him no bc he was going mama bear mode and he was gonna take that lab down), they all go to the lab to threaten brenner to call off the search for el, let her live with hopper and be a normal kid, cover up for will and steve disappearing, provide everyone involved (but especially will and steve) with some seriously needed therapy

- brenner declines and tries to kick them out, but owens comes in & gets brenner removed, and is like "yknow what, fuck it, i never liked the whole child experimentation thing anyways, we'll just fake "eleven's" death and we'll get some documents set up so hopper can officially adopt her in a few months while everything settles"

- he comes up with a story to explain will and steve's disappearance, and basically makes up some crazy murderer escaping from pennhurst and stumbling upon will and steve in the road, and taking them to some abandoned cabin in the woods to eventually kill them so they don't go to the police and get him locked up again, and the thing the cops pulled out of the quarry were the guy's shitty attempts at dumping fake bodies of them to throw off the police, but hopper got suspicious and found them, but steve had already knocked the guy out bc he'd been about to hurt will, and so hopper arrested the guy and took will and steve to the hospital, and then when the guy got locked up again he committed suicide (a batshit wild cover up, but i thought steve being a town hero would be fun after all of this, and honestly it made the rest of everything ive planned flow in a way that i liked)

- so basically after the story breaks the news steve's mom finally comes home, hopper had been trying to get a hold of his parents the whole time but they weren't getting the messages

- and it's just steve's mom bc his dad is a bastard, but im gonna make his mom try to be a bit better after this than she has been

- so she's all happy steve's ok, and giving him some much needed attention from his actual mother

- and when his dad finally gets home he doesn't really give a shit, but he keeps up appearances that he's proud of his son

- and it makes things awkward bc for the first time since he was 12, his parents invite his extended family to thanksgiving, which there's family beef so they haven't gotten together in like 5 years

- steve hates all of his extended family, he just sort of vaguely remembers his aunt on his dad's side being pretty chill

- when they all get there tho he realizes she's definitely a lesbian and that's why she's so cool (she's living with her roommate in a big town, no kids, no love interests, and has been for years), so she immediately likes her (last time he saw her was in the first timeline when he actually was 12 so it had been a while, and he had a shit gaydar at that point so he didn't know)

- but steve's trying to deflect his family's intrusive questions about his kidnapping, and trying to make his younger cousins feel more comfortable bc this event is very stuffy, but he does have a heart to heart with his aunt, who's spending the long weekend in the guest room, about eddie and she's like "if my brother ever kicks you out for being gay you are more than welcome to come to my house, and then i'll go kick his ass"

- then the story flashes forward to a week before christmas, where steve's parents throw a flashy christmas party to show off how grateful they are that their son is home, and they actually invite the byers which they'd have never done before, as well as a bunch of other rich families (so nancy and mike and their family are there), and basically it just shows some shenanigans between the present party members hiding from the party in steve's basement and playing board games and being besties

- then it shows steve the day after christmas being dropped of at the byers house by his mom (he had broken his arm in the upside down and it was still not 100% healed so he can't drive himself, plus she wanted to give gifts to the byers and hopper) for a christmas party for everyone involved with the upside down

- and basically while his mom's there it's awkward bc she's making some lowkey backhanded compliments, and her gifts are money for them while making comments about how they need it, so the whole thing is awkward

- but then she sees eddie and goes over and hugs him and thanks him for reporting steve missing and for looking out for him, which is wild bc even tho eddie doesn't have as bad of a reputation in this timeline as before, it's still not great, so mrs harrington willingly breathing in his direction is a shock to anyone

- and it makes steve a bit emotional bc even tho his mom has no idea they're dating, it's still his mom showing some approval of his boyfriend and all he's ever wanted is for his mom to be accepting of him

- but anyways so they all have a nice christmas and they all sleep over, minus hopper and el who go home (el has a short social battery at this point and she's like, i love you but i wanna go sleep in my own bed, which same)

- so then that's it for 1983, and in 1984 it speeds up to the day before max gets to hawkins, which is sometime in late october, and it shows max entering hawkins with her family in the car, and she seems a little anxious, and when they've emptied the move in truck, she tells her mom that she's gonna skateboard around and explore town a bit before she unpacks, and since they showed up on a weekend her mom's like "sure kid go nuts, be home before dinner" bc they don't know about what happened in hawkins last year, so no caution

- so then she skateboards off, immediately heads for steve's house

- steve and eddie were hanging out there, since steve's parents were gone for the weekend (his mom only hovered around him til mid february before she started joining his dad on his business trips again, so they were barely ever home once again, and steve was taking the empty house as an opportunity to spend the whole weekend with his boyfriend)

- and he'd lowkey been feeling weird since that morning, just a weird feeling in his stomach, and when the door knocks he answers it and it's max, and she remembers everything

- she explains to them that she's woken up in california in 1981 with the last thing she remembered being losing her fight with vecna (she has no memories of the hospital), and at first she thought she died and was reliving some memories, but turns out she traveled back in time. she hasn't immediately rushed to hawkins bc she had no idea if anyone would remember her, so she just vibed in california (and put billy in his place so he wasn't being as much of a dick to her), and she figured when she got to hawkins she'd start meddling to make sure no bad shit happened, but when she entered the town she felt a tug that she was compelled to follow, and she followed it to steve's house

- eddie and steve were super happy to see her, but now they were even more confused on how steve had brought her back in time with them, and they figured they'd bring dustin up to speed and bounce theories off with him, but since it wasn't urgent at the time there wasn't a reason to

- as far as steve was aware there hadn't been any signs of upside down bullshit yet, though he was antsy bc if it was gonna happen then it was coming soon, but for now their plan was to get max integrated into the younger kid friend group before explaining to them all who max was and what to possibly expect next, and they were planning on taking it slow bc billy was still an asshole so they had to be careful

- the last thing i thought up for this was a scene where max introduces herself in her science class with dustin, and dustin is like "holy shit she's cute" and max is like "ah yes dumbass number 2, good to see you again bud", and then another scene of steve driving the kids (el included bc she's now started at hawkins middle, going as jane hopper) to the arcade and dustin asking steve questions on if they ever found out who mad max was in the future, and if it was the cute new girl who showed up in his class, and steve was like "please stop asking me questions about the future just so you can find out who's kicking your asses at dig dug"

Look at me, not being on time for my April Immersion Overview as is the usual. (・w・;

First, little blog updates to get out of the way:

I reached 100 followers! Got an influx of people checking out my 1 year update post, and got plenty of nice compliments on my data collection.

For those of you wondering just why I keep up with so much data, it's mostly because it can get really hard to notice how much you're improving in a language especially with something like immersion learning that for people who don't get it feels like a waste of time or a time sink.

Graphs showing consistency, improvement in reading speed, increasing vocabulary counts, and generally just seeing numbers grow turns language learning more fun and motivating for me, and if as a bonus, it encourages someone to try immersion learning then that would be cool!

With that said, whether you're here as a fellow language learner, graphs enthusiast (笑), or just want some Japanese media recommendations, ようこそ!

Also, made a tiny DP change - it’s チト from 少女週末旅行. Pretty sure it’s the first manga series I ever finished in Japanese (not the first one I started since ちはやふる is still ongoing), and I always felt a bit of a ☆connection☆ with her - between her book-loving personality and being a no-nonsense kind of person, there was no way for me not to enjoy her character. Great beginner anime/manga if you’re not into most beginner recommendations.

April has been a pretty good immersion month, as I was able to dip my toes in a variety of media. A bit competitive, too! The club I joined has been pulling all the stops to get to the Top 20 Immersion Leaderboard in it’s first month. I was able to snag the 9th spot among a bunch of people of different comprehension levels (the majority being N1+ since they’re able to comprehend much more and in turn stand longer immersion hours). Lots of tiny complaints though of potential “whitenoising” content (”listening” and “reading” but not comprehending very well just to get a large number to post), but really what can you do? People lie all the time on the internet. Besides, it’s internet points that doesn’t do anything beyond being a little shiny I guess.

Enough about that, let’s get into the nitty-gritty details you came here for!

ANIME

フルーツバスケット

Might need to rewatch this one. Felt like I didn’t connect with the characters the way the rest of its fandom has. I’m kinda sad about it, since I normally love Slice of Life and Fantasy, and I know this is one of my friend’s diehard shows.

ラブライブ! School Idol Project S2

A filler anime to watch tbh. Nice and easy enough to follow for beginners. Pretty good songs. With regards to it being a show about music and moe, I still 100% prefer K-On! if I’m going to be honest, but for a show about non-toxic idols, it’s good!

魔法少女まどか☆マギカ

First read this as English translated manga when I was 13 or something. Mistakes were made. Let’s all just agree to throw キュウベえ into a pit of fire and never talk about it again. Great ending and a show that really reworked the magical girl genre. But seriously, I was traumatized by マミ’s death then and now, help.

四月は君の嘘

Already knew what was going to happen even before watching this so I didn’t ugly cry like I was expecting. Still got that awful sinking feeling though. 10/10 would recommend for a good cry. Also, I’m planning to read the manga, might enjoy that more, because I’ve always liked it more than anime actually. *shocked pikachu face*

ホリミヤ

Watched before I even finished the manga which felt like a mistake at first until I realized that it perfectly stops where I stopped reading. Nice and comfy anime, the kind I would have loved as a teen. Fun animation too, making parts very dramatic even though it wasn’t really that deep of an issue even in the manga. Just teens feeling feelings. Still salty that we lose bad boy styled 宮村, but I get why it had to happen.

AUDIOBOOKS

氷菓

Second re-listen. I understand it fine, but it’s very easy to drift off when you can’t catch all the words so I had to replay often. Will have to mine more from the anime/book.

君の名は

I mined from the anime, and was really pleased to be able to follow all 6 hours of this audiobook perfectly fine. Will need to read the book, because I realized just how seamless reading it would be after listening to it with hardly any issue.

Still trudging on with this one. It’s not a bad story, it’s pretty well written actually, I just made the mistake of watching both the anime and live adaptation first, so I know exactly what’s going to happen and it’s killing my motivation to keep reading. I guess reading the book first before watching the movie still applies in any language with me. Really need to 頑張れ and finish so I can move on.

��日間の幸福

Started reading towards the end of the month, mostly because I realized that every chapter is only 5000-15000 characters long, and I was able to read up to 40k in a day with Island most days. Only two chapters read so far though because I got distracted by manga, but it’s shaping up to be a really good plot and potentially a really sad one, too, so I’m interested.

DRAMA

花ざかりの君たちへイケメンパラダイス

Heard this was a classic so I gave it a try. Loved 生田斗真’s character in this one the most especially all his internal dialogue acted out. Also, 小栗旬 in anything is bound to be a good watch. Simple and fun watch. They dragged the ending so much though lmao

ごくせん

Look, I see 松本潤, I click. Definitely the kind of show you should watch for some great life advice. Planning to watch the 2nd and 3rd seasons even if there is a terrible lack of 松本潤, because I love my strong female protagonists, and man, ヤンクミ is such a great character. Need to read the manga, too, if I can find it.

極主夫道

Oof, this was kind of hard. The yakuza talk was throwing me off, but the rest of it was enjoyable. Not really plot heavy as I thought it was going to be. The comedy side of it was fun and predictable after the first few episodes. Overall, pretty good slice of life, family story with a twist.

MANGA

Read a bunch of manga this month, mostly because I am struggling to find the next vn to read.

おやすみプンプン

Read a couple of volumes (6-7). This manga is so good, but it’s so depressing I need to stop to take a breather every once in a while. Please don’t leave any spoilers. The club has been reacting to me reading this, and it has mostly been a lot of crying emotes. It’s both been enjoyable to see and really worrying. 笑

チェンソーマン

Club recommendation. Only read the 1st volume so far. I really need to get into more 少年 anime/manga. That’s currently my 苦手 genre which is awful because literally all the top anime/manga is 少年 help. I just can’t enjoy it much still even though it’s comprehensible to me.

ちはやふる中学生編

Read Vol. 1, chill read to me at this point after reading 45 volumes of the regular manga. Look, it’s my favorite 幼馴染 manga in baby format, of course I’m going to read this! 太一 has been a flake way before season 3 confirmed. Don’t come at me たいちはや stans bc I also like his character.

約束のネバーランド

Volume 7. I’m taking my sweet time with this one, because I heard the anime for season 2 sucked, so I’m avoiding it like the plague. This is 少年 how am I enjoying this and not everything else what.

ヲタクに恋は難しい

Enjoyed the anime hated the movie why did they make it a musical that sucked (ps i normally love musicals hated this one)

The オタク jargon is kinda hard to read suprisingly but I do enjoy this ship very much. It’s a lighthearted take to otaku culture which is great because seriously it’s scary out there.

ツバサ -RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE-

It’s my childhood ship, obviously I will read this again (read in English several years ago). Still as plot twisty as I remember it being (now at a bonus hard level reading it in Japanese 笑). Really enjoyed reading this one (I finished it this May).

I’m starting to really dislike furigana in manga. It was a great help as a beginner, but now it’s like training wheels that you can’t take off. I feel like the gains I’m getting from manga is much lower than it was when I first started which makes me both proud of how far I’ve come, but also sad because I love manga. Sad that I might have to start choose VNs over it, because it’s not going to challenge me as much going forward. I mean it didn’t stop me from reading a lot of it this month, but you get the picture.

ファタモルガーナの館

Picked up this VN and finished two doors (15 hours) before stopping. On the fence about it, because it has been kind of predictable so far, and I don’t particularly enjoy the horror genre. That said, this is more psychological than anything, so it’s probably not that that’s putting me off. The language is not exactly difficult, too - maybe some oddly specific words because it is after all historical fiction (which is one of my favorite genres, btw), and 敬語 is definitely interesting to read for once after encountering so many お嬢様 characters in anime/drama so far.

I think maybe it’s the conversations that are kind of dull - dots (silence) every few clicks that keeps breaking the flow of reading. Probably judging it really harshly too early, because it’s rated so high everywhere, and I just have high expectations. Definitely not dropping it yet though, just taking a break and testing a couple of other VNs before I settle with whatever I end up choosing. It is, after all, going to be another 50+ hour read, and I just don’t want to not enjoy the process, because having fun with the process is a huge part of immersion learning.

okie nobody can deny that our main boy over here is a loud soul, however, he can also carry a damn good beat that compliments his band mates’ music really well. Tbh, he sucked at music to begin with and had trouble matching rhythms and listening to his band mates when they played, however he eventually became a really good rhythm maker.

Sasuke

-Guitar (lead)

He’d be assigned to the same band as Naruto, and that’s how they met. This boy is a damn good guitarist y’all, but has attitude problems™, and used to not be able to deal with Naruto’s haphazard beat making, thus perpetuating a rivalry between the two. He constantly feels overshadowed by his elder brother Itachi, a piano major.

Sakura

- Dance

Ya girl fucking demolishes every single dance routine. Initially starting out with a focus on ballet (pre-shippuden in canon), our pink headed queen soon realized that she wasn’t getting the full experience of what it meant to dance. Her point shoes were her loves, however they hurt and nipped in places not just physical. She realized that she didn’t want to be pigeonholed into a genre of which she would be inhibited by standard, and rather to dance so as to forget technical perfection. Thus, what would partner with post-shippuden Sakura in canon, Art School AU Sakura got into hip-hop. And bitch, she goes hard. A lot of the other girls who she used to dance ballet with admire her for her absolutely BODYING her dance routines, but also for never sacrificing her femininity to dance and not taking BS for being a girl who goes so hard in a male-dominated genre. (Some people believe that hip-hop is heavy hitting and a little metaphorically “dark” so to speak, which Sakura is not. So obviously I expect a little disagreement regarding this, however if you look at people like Delaney Glazer or Kaycee Rice, that is how Sakura would dance).

Hinata

- Creative Writing

Shy and bookworm-like, Hinata can write the best poetry, romance and adventure pieces out of all the creative-writing majors. She’s especially good at writing character relationships and development, and has such a subtle sense of intelligent wit in her writing, that if you blinked you would miss it. However should you catch it, you’re sure to chuckle. Her only struggle is that she tends to drag on in important scenes, stretching them against the regular flow of the rest of her writing. Needs validation for her writing through an IV drip.

Kiba

- Drums OR Photography

Drums for obvious reasons (loud and obnoxious), although ruff boi looks good with a camera, too. Great at landscapes and street photography.

Shino

- Creative Writing OR Photography

I could definitely see Shino having fucking beautiful handwriting, and being a beast at writing anything within the sci-fi realm. I could also see him doing some journalism, and writing for the school paper. He’s very good at the logic of his sci-fi books and coming up with logical but enrapturing stories, that intermingle knowledge and mystery. He’s a very specific type of read, however, and may not appeal to all, however if you enjoy anything similar to Star Wars or Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, then Shino is your author. If this doesn’t float your boat, though, try photography-major Shino. He can get the best angles of bugs he sees, and has an extensive portfolio with entomology-related snapshots.

Ino

- Dance

Like Sakura, she, too, began with a focus on ballet, however began to branch out into contemporary ballet a little later than Sakura. This is another reason why Sakura switched her focuses, as she and Ino had always had a fierce rivalry for dieting (ballet dancers are pressured to be as thin as possible) as well as battling for technical perfection when they were ballet focused. As the two grew, Ino focused more so on contemporary, but can certainly do some hip-hop with Sakura every now and then, just as Sakura occasionally takes a contemporary class with her. The two still have a rivalry, however, just not to the previous extent as when they were actively competing against each other. They’re more like sisters.

Shikamaru

- Guitar (bass) OR Creative Writing OR Architecture

Smart boy’s a tricky one. He would either be a bassist, a mystery and historical fiction writer, or, of his school offers it, be great at architecture. Idrk.

Choji

- ermmmmm….. maybe graphic design? Tech theatre (props)? Vocal???

Choji is hARD dwnccnpc (that’s what she said). I could see him behind a computer screen, animating and designing games/covers/posters or whatever. He could also do something in theatre, but I don’t think he would do anything up on stage. Something like props would suit him. He might do something in music, tho???? Can he sing???? Help???

UPDATE: Choji is a band kid. He plays tuba or some shit. Big boy got big lungs.

Tenten

- Dance

Always has been, and always will be a hip-hop dancer. She wanted to be like Tsunade, a legendary dancer and followed in her footsteps, taking up hip-hop. (that’s why Sakura focused on hip-hop, too, because Tsunade mentored her and taught a few of her classes, too). Tenten is fast and can keep up with any beat. Not only is she a great dancer, but she’s also athletic, and does track and field (cross country), football, and softball at another school too, since the arts schools doesn’t offer it. Overall great dancer with styl. She’s really looked up to by some of her underclassmen for her cheery, but badass style and skill.

Lee

- DANCE (hip-hop, too)

It’s sweat. It’s burn. It’s energy. It’s Lee.

Neji

- Violin

First chair violinist in his freshman year for the school’s philharmonic orchestra. He be extra like that.

Gaara

- Guitar (bass)

He had a lonely childhood with neglectful/abusive parents, and rock music really helped him with that. Emo music is emo and often made fun of, but the songs have messages and Gaara related, so self-taught himself the bass guitar to help cope, and bring him closer to the music that salvaged him.

Kankuro

Specifically sculpting. For obvious reasons.

Temari

- Acting

Girl can make you cry with some of her monologues. Total lead. Has a seriousness in her acting that makes her believable, however can falter on the less-serious roles. She may also double-major in whatever Shikamaru does. And she’s better at it than him.

Itachi

-Piano

Boy could play any etude at age 7. Performed at Carnegie Hall when he was 10. And no, he didn’t pay to play there. The hall invited him. Began composing at 9. Has perfect pitch. Owns international awards. If he’s not at school it’s because he’s traveling to play for crowds. He excels at classical and baroque, however has an ear for romantic, and enjoys playing/composing pieces either written or inspired by romantic pieces. Enjoys Schumann, Debussy, and Tchaikovsky. Hates modern classical music, though. Can only take cinematic pieces composed by people like Williams, however can’t stand Prokofiev at all. He does like modern music, though, so long as it’s outside of the orchestral/classical music realm. He likes R&B. He would have liked to do film with Shisui, particularly producing, however his parents pressure him with piano, so he helps Shisui with student films and projects outside of school (will probably pursue film after graduating, tho).

Shisui

- FILM / VIDEO PRODUCTION

Fight me on this!!! THIS BOY IS SO GOOD AT CINEMATOGRAPHY MY FILMMAKING ASS CAN’T EVEN. AS SOMEONE WHO IS IN LOVE WITH FILMOGRAPHY, TRUST ME, SHISUI HAS IT™. THE IT™. HE’S GOOD AT EVERYTHING. Also a piano god. The uchihas breed them. Hates being accompanist for Tobirama. They’re secretly best friends though, don’t tell anyone.

Idk why. Probably started out with props and made her way up to TD (technical director) in senior year.

Used to play cello because of his parents, but loves to play guitar. Can sing but his voice is raspy from smoking.

Used to major in lead guitar. Sucked at first. Probably has a couple, casual Grammy Awards (they’re actually not that hard to be awarded with, The Recording Academy award many people outside of mainstream media. My school has a few). Now teachers as head of the Band department at this school.

Legendary dancer. Probably toured with a few famous people. Now teaches. Mentored Sakura, and mentored Ino but for a shorter time.

Definitely a wood wind. Flute maybe??? Teaches now but no one knows what he does. Pedophile. Has a thing for Sasuke.

I put it off bc to date I’ve only published two stories over on Wattpad. So doing the first lines from the last twenty projects is somehow...easier? I suppose?

I’ll be putting the opening paragraph or so of each piece, and will only be using WIPs that I actually started at the beginning. Anything that doesn’t start at the actual beginning will be skipped.

Remnants

Radka had been a seamstress in a previous life. Trained from childhood on the most delicate stitches, the most intricate embellishments. She had worked for royalty, sewing crystals and spun gold into skirts for the biggest social events of the year. Her steady hand and attention to detail had earned her a job in the palace by fourteen, and a spot on the queen’s personal seamstress team by fifteen. But that was years in the past. The girl she had been then, demure and innocent, wouldn’t recognize the woman she had grown up to be.

Open Seas

Theresia Bowen sat in the back of one of her family carriages, forehead pressed against the window as she watched the countryside fly past. The sky stretched on forever above her, interrupted only by the occasional wispy white clouds, and the spring sun had melted the snow from the hills to her left. The grass was still struggling to grow but was scattered in patches across the mud. To her right, the sea rolled and waved to the horizon. Ships dotted the deep blue, their sails bright and full with wind. Most were trading ships, a few navy, and the smallest of them all were pleasure ships. It was how she knew they were close to her destination.

Indigo Wars

Violet Colby sat cross-legged on her narrow bed in the room she shared with her two sisters at Osbrick Estate. The name was a holdover from the property’s previous life as a stately home, though not much else had carried over. The walled compound was nestled in the eastern sands of Edristan, less than two kilometres west of the capital city, with sun-bleached buildings that housed several dozen orphans and foundlings.

Pine Hollow

It was a miserable Monday morning, with dark, heavy clouds masking the rising sun and a steady rain pounding the town of Pine Hollow and the surrounding area. The dirt trails through the dense forest were slick with mud, the tire ruts becoming puddles and the puddles becoming proper ponds. It was as far from ideal body hunting conditions as possible without snow, but Virginia Crane had a job to do and she wasn’t about to let some adverse weather stop her.

Rochester WIP

The wedding was supposed to begin in five minutes and the bride was nowhere to be found.

Evelyn Rochester, for her part, was not surprised. Her sister Dorothea had claimed a headache a week earlier to get out of a family outing and had been gone by the time they’d returned. A small chest and a collection of her clothing had been gone as well. Their parents had made inquiries to some family friends but no one had seen Dottie, and at twenty-six she was allowed to do as she pleased, so they’d been left to wait to see if she’d return.

Just Jane

Jane rolled over in the narrow bed, pressing her face into the pillow as though it would make it any easier to sleep. Even as she breathed in the warm, sweet scent of the bed owner’s favourite perfume—myrrh, rose, styrax, and marjoram—a new sound made her ears prick to attention.

UNSS Spectre

The spacecraft glided through the void, following its prey silently. It was using its minimum operating power, leaving the two inside to perform their duties without overhead or emergency lighting. Only the glow of their instruments illuminated the interior of the craft.

“Cloaking device operating as normal,” Ensign Graecyn Ramsey said. She didn’t need to provide verbal updates since Captain Mezei could see everything that she could see and there was no one else aboard the tiny stealth class craft, but it was habit and she couldn’t seem to stop herself.

Fissures

Katherine Delacroix was seething. It was hard enough trying to get a gaggle of thirteen to eighteen year old girls to focus under normal circumstances but having the #1 most eligible bachelor of the school just hanging out at the back of the auditorium was making it nearly impossible. To make matters worse, the attention paid to the blond was bruising the egos of the boys in the group and she was painfully aware of how desperately the musical needed them not to quit. They already had a female Cogsworth and Le Fou; they didn't have enough girls with deep voices to play Gaston or Lumiere or, god forbid, Beast.

Snapshots

“Are you still looking for a roommate?” Misha asked, voice muffled slightly by whatever she was doing on the opposite end of the phone.

“You mean since you stole my last one? Yes,” Micah replied. He was stuck in traffic on his commute home from work, something his twin sister Misha knew, which was why she’d called when he had no excuse not to talk to her. It wasn’t that he didn’t like talking to her, he just wasn’t much of a talker.

“You’re gonna have to get over that,” she said.

The Tournament

The coin spun in lazy circles on the table, defying every law of physics. Izora Graham watched it with one hand held in a claw-like position over it. She didn't need to but it made it easier to cover the coin should anyone watch it too closely. The bar was still fairly empty so early in the evening and she was tucked away in the back booth away from the few early birds sitting at the counter, however any displays of magic would bring unwanted attention. Especially something that could be useful to any of the Upper Houses like her telekinesis.

Noyama Contest

Earthens had spread across dozens of galaxies once they’d perfected faster-than-light travel, and hundreds of solar systems within those galaxies. PT-759 was one of the galaxies they’d colonized only to find that it was already inhabited. It had ended up working out alright though, as the native species had radically different planetary needs and also happened to find Earthens downright adorable.

Naetov was a smaller planet at the edge of Federation-controlled space in PT-759. It had a few key cities where government funding was funneled to keep them perfect for non-Earthen tourists. Those cities were clean and friendly, open spaces and carefully maintained flora making up the downtown cores, streamlined designs and shiny surfaces giving the impression of a planet on the cusp of significance.

Gossamer Girl

It was the first day of winter and things were already looking bad. Even though the cold weather had held off for an extra two weeks, the harvest had been poor. A mold had festered in their southern field during the wet spring and had spread quickly. They’d razed the infected sections as soon as the fungus had been discovered but it had already destroyed a large swath of plants. They’d lost nearly a quarter of their usual yield and the troubles had only spiralled from there.

Knotted Strings

The room was just a bit too cold to be comfortable. The walls were wood panelled with some sort of reddish wood that matched the flooring. Rows of chairs with collapsible desks filled most of the lecture hall, with the front of the room dominated by a whiteboard and a table. The professor, hawkish in appearance, was perched on a bar stool facing the students and overlooking the table.

Tess lounged in her seat at the table at the front of the room, notebook open on the table in front of her and pen moving deftly across the page. She watched her competition critically as he spoke. His argument was solid enough to cast reasonable doubt on her case, or it would have been had he bothered to address a small piece of evidence she found to be damning. He finished his conclusion to a spatter of applause and returned to his seat across from her.

“Well done, Mr. Wynn. Miss Kinney, would you like a few moments to prepare your rebuttal?” the professor asked.

“No, I’m good,” Tess replied. She sat up, scribbled a note in her book, and then pushed the book across the table.

Oh, Ophelia

Alexis lounged in the shade next to the pool, sipping a daiquiri and considering her next move. She’d been using the same identity for nearly fifteen years and the neighbours were starting to get suspicious. With all the new beauty products and surgeries available to people of her wealth it was easier to convince people she was nearing forty when she was in the body of a twenty-three year old, but now she had to deal with people asking for her skincare routines and her doctors and the identity wasn’t worth all of the research she was having to do. She was getting sick of Malibu anyways, what with the yearly forest fires that got closer each year. She missed the deep-rooted history of Europe, the memories she had in all of the major cities, the people like her who were still living in their castles and manors pretending like the world hadn’t left them behind.

Bloodlines

Ten of Wands. The Tower. Two of Swords.

Morrigan Keeling sat on the floor of her bedroom, chewing the end of a pen and staring intently at the tarot cards spread in front of her. It was a simple three card spread to indicate how her day was going to go: a card to describe herself, one to indicate what was going to greet her, and another to show the outcome of the situation. She’d gotten into the habit of doing it every day while living at home, and even five years after moving out she found it a relaxing routine to start the day.

The day’s cards, however, were not very relaxing.

PerDeA

The backseat of the car was dark, only illuminated for short intervals by the orange glow of the streetlights. Two figures sat across from each other in the shifting light. In the backwards-facing seat on the driver’s side was PerDeA. Her dark hair was pulled tightly into a ponytail, lips slightly parted as she stared unblinking out the back window. Shoulders square, back straight, chin up, hands folded neatly in her lap, her breathing perfectly rhythmic; she would have looked human if not for the faintly glowing cybernetic blue rings superimposed over her black eyes.

Westhaven

Her eyes were open but she couldn’t see anything. There were mechanical sounds ‒ beeping, whirring ‒ all around her, and voices too far away for her to understand. The sharp smell of antiseptic and the softer detergent scent beneath it.

“Initiate optical system,” a muted female voice instructed. Between one breath and the next she started processing visual information: bright white lights above her, the featureless ceiling beyond, her own nose and eyelashes. She couldn’t move her head to see much else. Walls that matched the ceiling so well it was hard to tell where one became the other, bits of the bed she was on with its bleachable white sheets and side rails.

“Increase tactile responsivity by fifty percent and disengage the motion inhibitors.”

Pro Patria Mori

She sat on the narrow bed with her packed suitcase next to her. Her blonde hair was pinned back, her blue eyes fixed on a spot next to the door, her hands folded neatly in her lap. The winter chill clung like burrs to the house, helped by the heavy spring rain that beat against the window in a staccato rhythm. Outside, trees bowed under the charcoal sky. The old house creaked and groaned around her, the wind whistling and wailing as the storm continued to batter the country estate. She waited.

At any moment there would be a knock on the main door of the house. Godfrey, the aged and shuffling butler, would answer. Standing on the other side would be some men in crisp uniforms, holding up her picture and asking if he knew her. She had seen them in town the evening before, and it wouldn’t take more than a day before someone pointed them in the right direction. They looked like military men but there was something different in their manner, something sharper. Godfrey would lead them up, and up, and up, until they reached her third floor apartment. The butler would introduce them, she would smile politely, and she would leave with them without a fight.

The Clocktower

Astra hated Capperham. The way it sprawled its squalor from border to border, from the sea in the west to the battlements in the other three directions. The harbour reeked of dead fish and unwashed human, the slums of sickness and stale beer. Even the neighbourhoods of rich merchants and factory owners lay under the thick smog of black soot the mines and mills spat out day and night. The grit and dirt was part of everything, so deeply ingrained that even the most rigorous scrubbing couldn’t make something clean.

Stars Incline Us

The Christmas gala was in full swing. The entire ballroom was full of people Pippa didn’t know, all wearing fancy clothes that probably cost more than her rent. Her own dress was aubergine and a simple V-neck, form-fitting enough to be attractive but loose enough to not draw too much attention.

She and another girl who didn’t seem to know anyone at the event were chatting with Antero and Mr. Rabinoff near the edge of the dance floor. Antero was already antsy to leave despite the dinner having just ended, but Mr. Rabinoff had trapped him in a debate he was too proud to back down from. The other girl was from legal and either found them hilarious or had had a little too much to drink because she kept giggling, leaving Pippa no choice but to laugh along while adding the occasional remark to the back and forth between the men.

That brings us all the way back to October 2016. Which tells me that I need to start at the beginning of more stories haha. If anyone has questions about any of these, please feel free to ask. Also, if you read all of that, you are a saint and a hero and have my eternal friendship.

BITTERSWEET AF,,, sort of just treading the line of ‘hopeful’ and ‘hopeless’ at all times to fully portray the feeling of being at your lowest, but with that classic tss ‘silver linings just around the corner’ kind of undertone

i actually have a short list of what i somewhat consider to be the story arcs in my notes !! mostly just for organization and obvs i wont list the future ones but so far we’ve seen the kushtaka arc, the enki arc, and now we’re in what i call ‘the annunaki’ arc.

🎢- Were there any scenes you were nervous about? For audience reception or otherwise?

ALL OF IT JSHDJSKD, but again a lot of the enki scenes i was worried would be too edgy TM, and the whole annunaki plot as well i was worried might be too ‘out there’ for ppl, but it takes the story exactly where i always wanted it and lines everything up perfectly so i went for it lol. i was also ofc worried if people would like ila or not bc oc but most ppl love her actually which is so 😭❤️

Yes !! i have HVH insp part 1, Part 2, and an extra one for all those songs that have the vibes but just dont fit enough to make sense in a playlist

probably ! ive learned i definitely like the edgy/darker and emotionally driven stories with ongoing plot, so that trend will almost definitely continue. idk if ill write a dystopia again anytime soon, but i think my future stuff will at least retain that long and heavy vibe

💁- Did readers influence/change any part of this story?

oh yEA like basically i was ready to quit after the very first chapter before it was even written and kinda just got it all out on a whim of motivation but was expecting to flake on it like i tend to do with projects, but the invested response to it was just so uplifting that its what ive been riding on all ten chapters and im so grateful for it :’)))

✏️-Would you go back and change anything if you could?

hHHHHHHH yes and ok this is terrible but i actually tend to avoid re-reading my older chapters until i hAVe to bc i suffer from that sO much ,,, , its just little things like tiny words i wanna change or bits i wanna take out/put in and once or twice ive even caught a mistake or plot hole/smth i forgot to add that i rly do have to go back and edit and i just turn to dust every tim e

⭐- What’s a scene/paragraph you’re proud of?

i really liked the northern lights scene!! it was meant to be a pivotal moment of that ‘bittersweetness’ vibe i was talking abt and it was another one of those scenes i had been planning for a while;;;

“ I think of how much the rest of the family would love this. This isn’t like the moon and the sun, where I can see it and know that even if it looks different, they’ll see the same one soon enough, wherever they are. This reminds me only that I am not with them. It stings. It seems unnatural for something so gentle and natural to appear before us as if we aren’t in complete, total fucking chaos. After all we’ve been through, and the sky still dances. “

isdfhSDF YEs, part of my hesitation to write came from this thing where i always just assumed there was a wildly high standard of writing in fandom spaces like in original literature spaces, where you had to have like 10+ sentences to a paragraph and you had to describe every tiny detail of a setting and you had to follow every single grammar rule or it was unreadable but like. genuinely its like sculpting with words as long as you have a shape ppl get the idea which is such a weight off my shoulders lol, its still a lot of work but so much fun to know i can to an extent do what i want and ppl actually like it like that. i also learned that like most other writers i have to cause my favs emotional and physical pain,

🎁- Any writing advice for people who want to write something like this?

hhHHHH 1. please do it its so fun just give in to the edge my guy , 2. try to get comfortable re-reading your chapters, for me its like when ppl listen to themselves sing/act but im trying to do better bc its so much more consistent when i keep it fresh in my mind and it also boosts confidence when u can pick out the things u like instead of the things u dont, 3. trying to have at least one scene in mind for each chapter that ur excited to write so u can have motivation to update faster! for me it doesnt have to be smth i think would excite the audience either like it could be the most basic thing but just having an idea of it and knowing i want to see it come to life rly helps me stay on top of it all

there’s a pretty distinct difference between the version of himself that much of his dedicated fanbase perceptions are based on, and the Real Him. in the media he’s gradually becoming more of a household name for being a musician with a mostly positive message, an inclusive fanbase, a charming personality and being an all around humble, approachable, likable young guy

in his personal life, things are a bit,, different. he’s a hedonist, through and through, in that his pursuit of pleasure ranks far above everything else on his priority list. he’s also extremely sybaritic meaning crazy self indulgent when it comes to luxury, and in his late teens when he had the world at his fingertips, it was all about having the Best everything (mini bars, expensive cars, the good champagne, n private planes- ok i’ll shut up now no one needs my bad 1d references rn)

so basically he spent ages 17-19 as a touring musician after forming a backing band built of some his closest friends from high school, all the while earning his associates in arts in music through an online program; balancing social media as a full time job, getting to perform live in any kind of larger capacity, and still doing well in college posed quite a challenge, especially as he became more focused on the rockstar lifestyle and less on school

still, he never stopped wanting to learn as much as he possibly could about music, determined to become a master of his craft, so he earned his degree and kept hungry for knowledge. after a near-overdose the summer after he turned 19 however, his parents and their what felt to him like faux-concern at the time eventually talked him into putting touring and gaining celebrity status on the back burner for a while

in exchange for a proposed change in habits and lifestyle, they offered to pay for him to apply for and attend the prestigious university of his choice so he could get his bachelor’s degree in music theory, something he agreed to after heavy deliberation, and only after he had a personal realization about just how much the limelight was getting to him, the brighter it became did he decide it was for the best that he stepped back from it to focus on school

choosing college over touring / growing the band’s popularity cost him a few members of his backing band / friends who had no interest in ‘waiting around for him to finish getting some stupid degree’ and went on to pursue other projects, which meant he no longer had the same support system in that group of friends that he’d become so used to, and that lead him to seek out a new one almost as soon as he was enrolled at northridge as a freshman: he immediately pledged omega pi (bc we all know what a frat boy harry looked like at 19, hello, i’m not passing that up), finding that he fit right in with its reputation for being full of guys who were heavily focused on partying, and now that he’s a junior he’s in charge of marketing & recruitment :~)

his appetite for pleasure & luxury coupled with still considering himself a rich, successful musician and just being an incredibly sexually fueled person in general makes for a really delicious and dangerous mix ngl and so far in his 21 short years he’s lived a pretty Wildt life, even while at college

he hasn’t released anything music-wise for the couple of years he’s been at university, but he wants 22 (he turns that soon hi he’s an aquarius ass bitch) to be the year that changes, where he delves back into it and truly becomes the artist he was ~destined to be~ or whateva

frequently considers whether or not he made the right choice in essentially choosing college over being an artist / celebrity for the time being, and wonders if dropping out would be the better option (esp bc he thinks he only has so much Time anyway, more info below), but always talks himself out of it

is Firmly Set on the idea he’s going to be part of the 27 club (my boi is already almost 22 like :/ excuse u sir, snap out of that? someone give him a reason to live lmfao no i’m kidding i promise)

has an underlying hopelessly romantic side / has had a lot of either toxic or very intense relationships / has hurt & been hurt by a lot of people, so he has an extreme aversion to emotional attachment and falling in love / prefers casual sex / thinks he’ll never have a long term relationship again (yikes ik like hi get some therapy babe)

he’s reckless, impulsive, can be incredibly domineering, drinks too much, fucks too much (if that’s possible), and (drugs tw) does way too much coke for fun and too much adderall for studying, definitely every bit the ~tortured artist~ even though most of his issues are rooted in like, mommy/daddy issues and (homophobia tw) knowing his parents wouldn’t accept or support him any longer if they knew that he was bisexual

to sum it all up, he’s here for a good time, not a long time, and while he is here, he wants to learn all that he possibly can about music because to him it’s basically the meaning of life ok

that’s?? pretty much all i have for now, i will probably update this again at some point but i don’t want to make it too long because i definitely want to develop him within this group as i go along and besides it was just TIME for me to get something up

At school, one of the classes I take is Heavy Duty Mechanics, and it’s my last class of the day, so I take all the stuff I’m going to take home with me to the heavy duty shop. There are lockers there. I share one of them with the only other girl in my heavy duty class. She wasn’t at school today, and she’s done cleaning up her workspace before I am everyday, so she leaves our locker unlocked for me at the end of class.

Today at the beginning of class, I put my stuff in the locker and left it unlocked so I couldn’t spend 10 minutes messing up the combination and miss my bus. I have an iPod from 2 years ago, and an iPhone SE that I got as a gift from a friend for Christmas, which I use a lot more bc the screen on my iPod is very cracked, and my phone’s screen is very not.

I put my iPod on top of my phone on the top shelf of the locker before class, grabbed my safety glasses from that shelf, and I put the lock on the locker without locking it. I went to class, and everything was fine. Right? Wrong!

After class ended, I washed the grease and oil off of my hands from the project I’m doing. I went to my locker and noticed that the lock was on backwards, which I definitely DID NOT do. I opened the locker, and my iPod was NEXT TO my phone, which I also did not do. Nothing was stolen, so and everyone else had already left, so I didn’t think much of it, planning to bitch at everyone tomorrow in class.

Time skip to my bus ride home. I had finished reading my book, and I dont have any games, so I was hella bored. I decided to go through the photos on my phone and find all the photos that were actually taken and not just screenshots of memes. I opened the photos app ang guess what was there????? 8. 8 FUCKING PHOTOS of some DIPSHIT fucking VAPING IN THE CLASSROOM AREA OF THE HEAVY DUTY SHOP!!!!! Just because the teacher’s in the actual shop doesn’t mean you can just gO TGROYGB SOMEONE ELSE’S LOCKER AND TAKE INCRIMINATING PHOTOS OF SOMEONE ELSE!!!! i am LIVID!!

When I got home off the bus, I told my mom about it. I told her about the photos, but not that the kid in them was vaping, but still. All she said was that I should’ve never ever left my locker unlocked. I explained that my bus leaves ten minutes after class ends, and that it takes time to wash the grease off my hands so I don’t get it all over my shit AND change out of my shop jeans and steeltoe boots and THEN struggle to get my binder out of the top shelf of the locker AND get my backpack out of the too-skinny locker before the bus FUCKING LEAVES ME THERE AND TGEN SHE BITCHES AT ME FOR MISSING THE FUCKING BUS!! Someone WENT THROUGH MY STUFF, which is illegal, most likely, and my mom doesn’t even take MY side. And she wonders why I don’t fucking go to her with my problems!! She always brushes me off like I’m never going to be important enough to even fucking talk to her, and she has the NERVE to make me feel like shit as if I TOLD some bitchass dickwad to go through my stuff????? I just went to her for support because I’m VISIBLY DISTRESSED because of this and she just brushed me off like I’m not important and I did this on purpose.

I’ll update y’all fuckers on what happens tomorrow after I find out who fucking did it

Total word count on AO3 : 60634 ( and this is with the 3/4 of my fics still not updated since being posted. i’m not sure how it’s this much already, the word count, that is. the most amount of words i’ve written - for a total fic - was about 5k words; then it went up to 16k+ after the food fair entry . just think of how big my total word count could be when i get my writing muse back! )

How often I write: I used to update regularly, back in about 2015. Every day, I would have a new chapter for my fics (on Wattpad, because that was my first main writing platform, but Wattpad’s dead now so we’re here.)

In fact, I used to have a full writing plan; I had about ten hp fics on my account. I picked out the top ones I had the most muse for - which was three, two drarry and one wolfstar - and told myself I would update those fics whenever I felt inspired to.

In the end, I ended up updating those fics three times every week for a good two months, and I had about 24ish chapters for the drarry fics, and close to 20ish chapters for the wolfstar ( I started that fic at a later time than the other two. )

I kept this pattern up, and made sure that everyday after school, I would clear a writing space for myself on my bed so I could write. That helped me a lot and I had so many creative juices...it was insane how much I wrote.

Now, however, I write only whenever I feel inspired to and have enough time + energy ( aka, when I don’t pass out from exhausation and not working on too many things in school - I had and still have a lot of /art/ projects. )

I try my best to write all of my ideas down, but I usually don’t have much inspiration to turn them into longer fics, or anything beyond a simple idea, so most of those get chucked and forgotten.

The ones I do manage to keep around, I usually scribble down the idea on a piece of paper, and write a starter line and/or paragraph to see how it would look if I were to continue it as an actual fic, then determine what I do with it when I get home.

There’s no true definition as to how much I write. I would just say I write depending on my current mood and situation.

Writing Routine:

It used to start in either a swivel chair in the corner of my room, or at the wooden dining room table with a hot mug of fruit-flavored tea. ( It now varies from sitting upright on my bed with music blasting out of my headphones, on the living room couch with the low murmur of the t.v. in the background, or laid sprawled out on the floor with a Kubz Scouts video in the background. )

I try to take a few minutes to write the beginning paragraph on paper, or at least attempt to outline the story ( this usually lasts for about five minutes because I CANNOT sit still, and I’ll fidget a lot if I’m required to sit still for a while. )

I’ll usually look up fics of the similarity to whatever I’m writing, and get further story inspiration from them ( I’ll usually keep those fics up in a seperate tab to read back over when I need help and/or a burst of writing inspiration )

If it’s something I‘m not quite sure about, or something I’m not properly educated on, I ALWAYS do a good bit of research before even remotely writing about it. ( This is something I do NOT skip over, like at all. )

I’m almost always blasting music or video audio through my headphones whenever I write ( I search and listen to music when I write, depending on the theme and the feel of the story. If I’m writing fluff, you’ll probably catch me listening to beautiful piano music. If it’s a dark story - gods, I love dark stories - I’ll be listening to dark music, be it dark piano versions of songs, ambient horror music. And lastly, if I’m writing something emotional, I’ll usually stop by songs that made me cry and sad as child, or that cause me to zone out of reality in present day. )

I try to set a timer whenever I write. ( While it intimidates me, it also pushes me to write more because me eyes are constantly flicker over to the timer, and the closer I see it move down to zero, the faster I write and edit. I kick in about a good twenty words at the very start of the countdown. )

( And unless you wanna hear me rant about how much I get off task and procrasinate writing whenever I can’t figure out how to make a scene work or something of the sort, then this is pretty much it. Oh, and I do a few read-overs and editing when I’m done with the first rough draft. )

Kinks in Fics:

I really like a good ‘ol leather kink in a fic ( specifically when the second half of the pairing, *cough, cough* draco in a drarry fic* is pulling on and stretching on leather gloves, and I blame @mzuul for that because the minute I saw her Draco Malfoy Bad Boy series art, that kink was developed and I’ve loved it since. )

Another one, this is gonna sound really gross + suprising for those that know me, but watersport kink. ( This was first developed when I read my very first fanfictions, and I found a few good drarry fics with this in them so this kink is here to stay )

Hair pulling kink. ( It started out with reading fics fics where Draco would either accidentally or deliberately tug on Harry’s hair, and Harry ended up loving it - but now, I read fics were both Draco and Harry have this kink because it’s actually really good. )

Praise Kink ( Started out with only Harry, but I also like fics where Draco has this kink. I blame @goldentruth813 entirely )

Hung! Harry ( Hung! Like! A Horntail! - this, this fic, is all i’m going to say..)

It’s a Draco Malfoy redemption fic I began writing earlier this year ( and yes, it was inspired/influenced by the P!ATD song. )

I mean, I haven’t updated it since I posted it - I began writing it on old Wattpad before I left that hellsite, then I later posted it to my ao3.

It’s my favorite because I really got to explore and go more in depth with Draco’s character, unlike J.K. R*wling.

And I basically filled in all the pieces that led up to the part of Draco’s life we witness ( well, y’all, bc I never read it, ha ) in C*rsed Ch*ld

I basically combined in every post-war Draco headcanon I ever thought of into one whole fic and while it takes you into his mind and shows you just how much the war has changed him, it is actually wholesome. I mean, we’ve got angst, hurt/comfort, finding love, and I even had a few scenes that were so fluffy and pure that I was crying as I wrote - which is why I haven’t updated. Other than dealing with shit irl, this story gets me really emotional and I just love it so much..

What I don’t like about my writing:

I really don’t like how I transition from scene to scene in my fics. I feel like they’re extremely sloppy and really ruin the story; especially if I had a really good idea/path for the story. ( I also don’t like how I constantly compare my writing, then try and force to change my writing style so it sounds half as good as the author’s writing style of the story that I’m reading )

What I DO like about my writing:

Um, I really like how I start most of my fics off with dialogue. I like how I have a lot on the page, but it still blends in well to get its point across. And also, if it’s a one shot, I like how I have a beginning, middle, and end for the story.

Beginning: Introducing the prompt, and what’s going on with it

Middle: What the characters actions lead to, kinda showing you where it’s going to be heading soon

End : the general idea of the ending/aftermath of it + something like an epilogue, wraps things up in a way.

2021′s Group Project Rant

Ignore this one if school and rants are not your thing.

Big school one, but I really dislike group projects. Here's this year's reason why. Got 155/180 on a 20% of my grade, Biology Infographic. I'd be happy with the score if I knew it was entirely my fault to blame for making it too text heavy... But clearly, I was doing it last minute and alone, much as the others claimed they would do it too, "so don't worry about it too much and leave us something to do." All of them could edit and show up; I made sure they could once. But the boys always texted asking about updates or saying they were going to show up at such and such time, only to flake and eventually ride off my coat tails. The other member, a girl was busy most of the time and gave valid reasons why, but always made sure to tell me what she did, suggested ideas, and gave me help. Sure, she turned it in with the wrong link and I didn't double check with her for the 3 diff links, but she worked on the thing along side me for a part of the time. We eventually got it in with me turning in the final link, so we wouldn't get a zero but still. For a project that depended on our collaboration and we were given a month + a week, I sure as heck saw where it was going from the first week. Other than communication via text, there never was much foreseeable commitment. We shared schedules and stuff, but the guys took off and the girl wasn't there on her free time mainly bc of work/other class stuff. I wanted to do it all by myself to get it over with and knowing I had the skill, but then it would be a lot of work on me to research, format, and create. Turns out, that's exactly that happened. I didn't space time for it because every moment I did something and updated, the team congratulated me and said sorry, saying they'd be on, so please "don't do it yourself". I gave time, updates, and freaking effort. By the time, it got to the last week, I was going ham on it every spare moment. UGH, it hurts so bad to know that I could have done it better had it not been for the impeding guilt of doing it alone or knowing that others would get good grades off me. And there's no petitioning this because my Bio prof is a piece of crap. Why is my Bio prof crap? Other than what I've written about before, she said if you can't get the team to collaborate with you, it's on you and not on her to keep track. I’m quite sure the professor is why my TA almost cried during discussion one class as someone forgot to present and the prof went ham on her for not getting the students to be on time/prepared. Anyways, as for the infographic, I tried getting my TA to help boost them to doing something, causing them to rush to me, saying that the TA was hot on their tails and that they were going to help, just give them time. Oh poor you... don't you dare say it time and time again when it's all lies. Could I have done it for my grade? Sure, but I'd've gone down feeling like I'll rot in my grave. I am going to do my missing Bio hw and just try to relax after.

My class is doing a mini research conference and my professor said that we would be graded on the questions we asked the presenter and how well they were answered. I'm worried because I've always been really bad at thinking critically and figuring out questions to ask, I was wondering if you had any advice or tips?

Hey there!

This is such a coincidence bc i just came back from my weekly program seminar and we’re graded on asking at least 3 questions to the presenters every semester. And it’s tough to think of something critical esp if one doesn’t know too much about the subject and if there are a bunch of other experts in the room aka professors, other grad students, etc. It’s intimidating and even though this is my 4th year doing this my heart still wants to gallop screaming out of my chest when i raise my hand.

But i think i’ve picked up a few things that have worked for me, so lets see if they sound doable for you :)

Take notes. I always jot down major points during the talk, and sometimes as I’m doing so, questions pop up. Sometimes they get answered by the presenter on their next slide, but sometimes they go untouched, and I’ll ask those. Taking notes also gives you something to refer back to if you’re afraid you’ll ask something that was already stated, or if you forget what an acronym is.

Relate everything back to what you know, and think about how it would work in that setting. That helps put things in context of something you understand, so may help your thought process. This is also how lots of professors and researchers think during seminars–not only are they learning new things and getting updates in their field (or outside their field), but they’re searching for new ways to tackle their own research problem.

If part of the anxiety revolves around asking a question in front of lots of people, write down your question word for word. I did this in the beginning so I wouldn’t trip over my words and get even more flustered. I’ve even seen professors do this at large international conferences and they just read directly off their notepad.

Be curious. I’m pretty sure your prof isn’t making you all do this bc they’re being mean; they want to give you the chance to practice thinking curiously. Relax your mind and let it wonder. Remember: the speaker (and the audience) knows that the presenter is the #1 expert on that subject in the room right now, and is the only person who is expected to know everything about it. So if you have a “So I’m just wondering…” question, go for it. Sometimes those turn out to be the most provocative, especially coming from a student, because we oldies who have spent years with our head in the same box sometimes forget to think about things with a fresh mindset. Some of the best, most tantalizing questions I’ve ever gotten were from undergrads and high school students.

And be selfish with your curiosity. Don’t know something? Ask it! Who cares what everyone else in the audience thinks. This is your chance to pick the mind of an expert, so take advantage of it. Unless it’s regarding a fact explicitly stated by the presenter, there is no such thing as a stupid question. And think about the whole process as more of having a conversation with the presenter. Imagine if it was just you two at a cafe.

And it does get easier with time as you learn more about your field and become more comfortable asking questions in a public setting. My 1st semester i reallllly had to work my noggin at coming up with a question; now, as long as I’m taking notes and actively thinking, I can pretty much come up with a question per slide. All it took was almost 4 years of practice :P

Here are some sample general questions that you may ask if the opportunity arises: (it’s biology heavy bc that’s what I’m familiar with):

“How do you hope your findings be implemented in the clinic/workplace/environment/etc etc?” Basically, what’s the real-world-application or significance of their project? This is especially good when the presentation is about something really “niche” and focused.

Related, if the data presented are in vitro, ask about if there are any plans to move in vivo. If the data are in vivo, ask about if any clinical trials are in the future. Think about what their next step should be, and then ask if they’ve started, and/or what they predict will happen.

“Why did you choose to use this model/cell line/protocol/etc over other alternative models/cell lines/protocols/etc?” In order to run a well controlled experiment, the model we use has lots of limitations. So everyone should have a justification for why they chose one particular model over another.

Related, if the model they chose is missing a component (eg. an immunocompromised mouse model), ask them what they think that missing component’s role could be (eg. the immune system in said mouse model). Identify a missing puzzle piece, and ask if what would happen if it was added back.

“Have you looked at whether your protein of interest/etc is involved in other signaling pathways?” (or vice versa). This is particularly applicable to biology where redundancy is the name of the game. The researcher may have only looked at one pathway or maybe only presented on one, but in reality there are always cross-talk and unexpected results.

Particularly during seminars related to the abnormal (eg. diseases, environmental extremes, etc), think about the “normal”. For example, if a researcher is presenting a pathway that’s involved in cancer, you can ask them what role that pathway usually plays in normal physiology.

And, how one abnormal relates to another abnormal. For example, “does osteoporosis increase the risk of bone metastases?”. Particularly relevant in biology and human disease bc patients will oftentimes have multiple illnesses.

Always be on the look-out for correlation studies, and questioning whether there’s any causation.

Related, given one result, think about what other factors may play into it. Kind of like a lawyer or detective solving a crime. Was it really Suspect A with Weapon A? How about Suspect B with Weapon X? Did the researcher really control for every possible variable (the answer is usually no bc it’s darn impossible to), and if not, what do they predict the role of that variable to be on their studies?

Anyway, those definitely aren’t alll the questions you could possibly think of (especially if you’re in a field unrelated to biology), but they could give you a launching point of things to think about during the talk.

yun hyeran, a daegu native with an older and younger brother, an ambivert and an all around baby

tbh i don’t have much of her bg figured out, that’s always the last thing i get to so rip

buT she became involved in music through her father, who studied it in uni and ended up becoming a music instructor with a focus on piano, flute and vocals

her and her mom.. also her older brother, didn’t have the best relationship when she grew older, which seemed to die altogether when her parents divorced and her mom left. but her and her brother’s still exists, it’s just that he’s a bit of a toxic influence on her and she tends to distance herself from him

went to uni in seoul to pursue music like her father ( a daddy’s girl too like ) and found her way into the world of production !! by junior year, she’d transferred out of her original program and majored in that instead and has loved it ever since; she recently graduated

moved to jeju island bc an aunt lived there when she was young and she LOVED to visit, made a few friends there and would always whine abt the next time they could all go see her aunt again. so it made sense for her to live, at least for a little while, in one of her favourite places

she also adores said aunt, her dad’s sister and the maternal figure she Deserves, so she came partially to see her more often

for the time being, she works full-time as a barista at the café just a block from her cute little studio apartment while looking into internships at record labels for her to take on a little further down the line ( no rush bc it’s already quite competitive and she’d rather enjoy what she has going now )

she’s also making something of an income as the creator of an acct on youtube and soundcloud for her music, something she’s had for abt two years now

she’s not even close to making it big yet, and she doesn’t mind if she never works for a moderately to highly popular label — though she should if she wants to get by

among the aesthetic, lo-fi music crowd ( one of those yt accts with a livestream for certain playlists that go on for hours, rip ) where for the most part, it’s personal faves mixed with her own works, and has a substantial following as of now. but has an interest in experimenting, with mashups ( as a lover of them ?? i couldn’t help myself sgflkdsjg ) for example, with a small fear of how that change would be received

this is so short iK, it’s a little infuriating if you ask me ljkgdfjls

in terms of her personality and other things:

she’s a very loyal person, v e r y. while like i said, her relationship with her brother is Not Great, she hasn’t completely given up on him. maybe for the time being, but her being someone who’s open to the idea of people changing for the better somewhere down the line, leaves a bit of room for her to possibly change her mind if he does enough to allow her to consider it

so she can be a bit of a doormat in some cases, it all depends on how she sees the person that determines if that’s the case, but she generally won’t let you off if you’re being dumb/an ass to someone or if she gets advantageous vibes from you for example ( given she can.. be a little naive and is a p gentle soul ) so.. idk fgklsj good luck to the 99% ig ??

she does have a slight dependency on others despite her thinking all signs point to the opposite, and even though her and her mom never rly had a good relationship she still reels from the neglect/abandonment some days so handle her with Care if she deems you a close pal,

spontaneous tbh, moving to jeju was a little last minute on her part, for one

she’s a little reclusive when focused on something, if she tells you she’s working on a track, it’s essentially a head’s up that you might not see her for a couple of days depending on how soon she gets it done — lowkey that bitch™ who makes up an illness to her boss, so she wouldn’t even show up for work if it’s more than just her fucking around

bc admittedly, a lot of what she posts is fucking around and liking it, her more thought-out and effort packed projects are hidden away on her laptop

a bit insecure with her work and just her general disposition ?? those first few points above mess with her a lot and leave her disheartened so.. my poor child

v strong overall, takes people’s shit and if it gets to her, she gets over it p fast. doesn’t dwell on much and will be courteous to you even if she’s declared you too toxic to stick around 24/7

isn’t exactly one to get angry ?? she’s basically just disappointed or annoyed at best 99% of the time, it takes a lot to get her beyond that
