Chihaya.

Chihayafuru is literally my favourite anime of all time and Chihaya my fav character (have her as a profile pic in everything). I dont know how and why i ended up drawing her now... but i did. It is so weird to draw your fav character because you want to do justice to the creator (Yuki Suetsugu) but you also wanna add that little something (art style/character).

I dont want to start talking about Chihayafuru (i have too much to say) but ill just say that it goes so much deeper than a heartfelt/sports-based story. It is a realistic portrayal of friendships/family dynamics, self-reflection( especially one's bad traits), maturing by transitioning/making decisions for the real-world (from high school/ being a teenager) etc. Watch it if you haven't (you wont regret it i promise)

i’m so sad about the fact that shoujo and josei anime adaptations have gone so scarce (to almost non-existent) when they provide such an important space for the female gaze... i just absolutely miss having stories like the ones i grew up with
