#I don't think they interact often (why would they) but he could have a distant but courteous relationship with Ludovica's partner

Note
I imagine Vasco and Ludovica have a big painting (portrait but with two people) in Vasco's house (probably his father insisted of getting one of these, people used to do it in the old days, especially wealthy ones). While it's very serious and formal, in the way all these portraits were, it is also very intimate (at least it's implications). I imagine Machete just staring at it sometimes, feeling small while looking at the big painting. And sad, maybe jealous but I don't think he'd resent Ludovica. He, most of all, understands.

Lucifer x Reader HCs
(In which your relationship is romantic and you both live in the hotel.)
WC is 1741
(A/N: I love Lucifer so much. What a man. That being said, he's probably really OOC in this: we've only seen his character in a select few situations, none of which demonstrate how he treats his romantic partner or bonds with people he doesn't know, and I haven't read enough fics about him to decide what I like. Additionally, I'm not the best at writing romance at this point, so hopefully nothing is too off lol! With the disclaimers out of the way, please enjoy and lmk what you think! :))
Tumblr media
-He isn't very fond of sinners, and while his perspective on them has changed since joining the hotel, his opinion certainly hasn't flipped 180 degrees. How could it have? Good deeds never made the news in Hell, and the dead he was forced to interact with were powerful. Powerful sinners were never innocent; no one becomes an overlord by accident. Centuries upon centuries of talking to the powerful, witnessing only violence and hatred, will not be undone by a single moment of comradery in war — a battle where he couldn't know if the sinners were acting solely in their own self-interest.
-This is why, when you first arrive at the hotel, he's fairly aloof. He'll be polite, of course; he has no reason not to be (especially while lowkey still trying to win over his daughter), but will hold himself distant.
-Despite this, he admits you're kinda cute....
-You don't see him often, which doesn't help with his distance — he isn't used to being around so many people, and while he's pretty charismatic and extroverted, he's also still depressed and has a habit of self-isolating when he's going through it (which is often). He only really comes out for his daughter's sake.
-To get to know him faster than his changing perspective and mental challenges would otherwise allow, you could: one, approach him directly! Be friendly, open, and interested in his hobbies. This only works if you do the same for the others, though. If you don't, he might see your advances as manipulation. Two, you could develop a relationship with Charlie. Support her, believe in her cause, and have her back. He'll see you helping his daughter and will want to understand you further. Three, you could talk about ducks. That'll get him. He'll approach you eventually and strike up a conversation.
-If you don't do any of these things, that's fine; he'll just get to know you at the same pace that he gets to know the others. He'll slowly open up to the idea that not all sinners are violent psychopaths, become more comfortable with the rest of the crew, and realize how well he connects with you over a period of several months.
- Lucifer catches feelings pretty fast once you start hanging out for real. He's enamored with you: not only are you cute as fuck, but his daughter loves you, and you're the nicest sinner he's ever met (while kindest of the damned is not a hard-earned title, it's one he appreciates nonetheless).
-Once he realizes he's caught feelings, he'll ask Charlie for permission to ask you out. He doesn't want to pursue you if she isn't comfortable with it; she's already got familial issues, and he doesn't want a sudden shift in the family dynamic to hurt her further. If she says yes (which, if she likes you, she probably will), he'll ask you out to dinner.
-Prepare for the first date to be really awkward. Even if you've known him for a while at this point, he's incredibly nervous — he hasn't done anything romantic in a good while, and the last time he tried a relationship, it didn't work out. The whole time, he's fumbling over his words and cringing at himself, saying things he doesn't mean to while trying to be suave. When he escorts you back home after a very bumpy evening, he'll be downtrodden. He messed things up, just as he knew he would, and now you probably hate him; thoughts of self-loathing and regret swirl in his mind until you say you'll pay him back next time (he blinks up at you owlishly. "Next time? Like...another date?" You confirm his thoughts. "Oh--- oh! Yes, absolutely! I mean, no, no need to pay me back; of course not, but next time sounds good! How does this Saturday at 3 sound?").
-A couple of dates in, and he's feeling more confident, which reflects in his now far more self-assured demeanor and smooth language. He's a silver-tongued devil, after all, and he has to live up to his name.
-If all goes well, after about a month, he realizes he wants you to be his partner. He, once again, gets Charlie's permission and brainstorms with some of your friends about how to pop the question. Initially, he wants to impress you, pulling out the big guns and whisking you off your feet on the balcony of a lavish black-tie restaurant rented for just the two of you. After some discussion among your peers and deliberation of his own, though, he decides to do something else. He invites you to his tower, where he's prepared a handmade dinner with candles and soft music in the background. The food isn't particularly good (he can't cook very well and enlisted Vaggie and Nifty's help to make his dish edible), and the smoke from the candles stopped being pleasant about a half an hour in, but regardless, you both have a wonderful time, laughing about his lack of culinary skills and the excessively warm room. He asks if you would like to be his lover at the end of the evening, nervous but somehow also self-assured, and is overjoyed when you say yes. The next day, he parades you around the hotel, bragging that you said yes and talking about you to anyone who'd listen.
-If he wasn't big on physical affection before he got so lonely, he is now. While his hands might not constantly be on you, they've come close to that, especially if he's going through a hard time. Expect lots of hand-holding, arm-looping, cuddling, and kissing. He likes resting his head on yours (or your shoulder, depending on how tall you are) while he wraps his arms around you (or the reverse — he loves being cradled), you both sitting together on the couch. He also has a habit of rubbing his thumb in circles over the back of your hand while holding it.
-Smother his face with kisses, his cartoony heart-eyes expression will look a tenth lovestruck as he feels.
-You receive frequent duck memes, duck-themed gifts, and duck dissertations. He doesn't go around parading his interest, but if he trusts you, he can't keep himself from wanting to share everything about his hyperfixation. He's concerned about being annoying, though, and while you could try to curb his insecurity by telling him he's not, the best reassurance is to match his energy: talk about your own obsessions and be just as weird about them as he is. Not only does he feel better about himself, but he gets to talk with you for extended periods of time, your eyes alight and grin large. He'll probably try to get into whatever you talk about, wanting to connect with you further.
-He likes giving you gifts in general. Especially those that show you're in a relationship with him, like wearable apple or goat paraphernalia. While he does enjoy gift-giving for its own sake, he's insecure and doesn't want anyone to think they can cross him by taking you. If you give him anything duck-themed, handmade, or (heavens help him) both, especially without reason? He will melt. He loves it; he can feel the thought and effort you put in for him and feels known and loved.
- He’s kinda clingy; he likes being around you as often as possible and gets nervous if you're gone too long; if you leave for more than a day, he's like a koala when you return. It's comforting to him to know where you are, but it’s even more comforting when you tell him how much you love him before you go. His self-esteem isn't at a record low, but it certainly isn't high, and he has huge abandonment issues. Every once in a while, because of this, he'll grow distant; his thoughts of being undeserving or theories about how you're going to leave him become too much, and he semi-subconsciously pulls away to protect himself. Be patient with him during these times; show him how much you care and how you would never leave. Tell him you love him as he is. The first time you say so, he'll cry in your arms and snuggle you for hours.
-He'll become less clingy and insecure as your relationship goes on, but will always rather be with you than alone.
- He's majorly protective. He knows what it's like in Hell, and he knows that by dating you, he's put a target on your back, which only adds to your lack of safety. He will pull all the strings he has in order to keep you safe, whether that means accompanying you when you're out and about, actively keeping you away from overlords, or tracking your phone without your knowledge. He feels bad about some of his less savory means of protection, but not bad enough to stop. The thought of your death haunts him too much to let you be.
-Similarly, though he won't ever admit it, your redemption keeps him up at night. If you're redeemed and go up to heaven, he can't see you anymore — maybe ever. He knows you want to better yourself and tries his best to support you in your improvement, but sometimes his fear gets to be too much. In those moments, he has to spend some time alone before he tries to sabotage your progress in any way — any more than he already has.
-It's hard to tell what his love language is because he uses all of them. He wants to spend time with you (though he will give you a break if you need one; he understands needing to be alone, even if it makes him nervous), give you gifts, be touchy, do things for you, and tell you how wonderful he thinks you are. He wants you to know just how much he cares in every way he can and will be receptive to any form of love in return.
-He doesn't use as many pet names as some of the rest of the cast would, but he does use them! He likes calling you sweetheart and angel-eyes the most.
-Overall, he has a lot of insecurities and mental health problems to work through, but tries his best to be the best partner he can be for you. It's hard work to improve himself, but if you'll have him, he'll stay by your side forever.

Hii! Can I request Heartsteel Kayn having a big crush on reader (who is really close friends with all of them and helping Alune with managing them) and thinking the feeling is one sided when it’s not? If you don’t want to write this I totally understand and respect your decision!! Have a lovely day/night<3
✿ Prompt: Kayn feels his crush on you is one sided ✿
♡ champion focus: kayn ♡ tw: npd ♡ Gender-neutral reader
Author’s Note: Hi! Thanks for your request ૮₍。´ᴖ ˔ ᴖ`。₎ა I tried to give this one more headcanons with other HEARTSTEEL members to play a bit into Kayn's jealousy. This will also be a bit of a shorter request. I tried my best with it! Hope you like it! (ㅅ´ ˘ `)
Tumblr media
Kayn doesn't have a problem with you being well-acquainted and close with the people in his band. Sure, Ezreal could be a bit annoying to deal with, especially when he throws those cheeky, flirtatious comments your way. Kayn has never taken it to heart before. He knows you don't like Ezreal that way... So why is it bothering him so much now?
You'd often help Alune out with band management: Making sure everyone was doing their parts behind the scenes, assuring the band was always prepared for any occasion to pop up, and making sure all of the boys were well packed whenever you'd all hit the road to go to the next city.
But that didn't stop you from helping out the other boys! You served as Aphelios' sign language interpreter and sometimes gave your opinions on outfits K'Sante designed. You'd point out minor flaws to ensembles Sett sewed so the boys can always look their best, and even would allow Yone to vent his frustrations to you while you made him cold brew. These were all minor things Kayn overlooked and had no issues with.
What got to Kayn was seeing how you interacted with Ezreal. The way you two would share jokes with one another made Kayn sick to his stomach. What could Ezreal be saying that was so funny anyways? Kayn was ten times more clever than him! You should be laughing at his jokes!
Sometimes, Kayn feels like he is in the shadows, watching you from the outside. It was expected for you to help out the others, yes, but in a way, Kayn felt like he deserved more attention.
You should be looking his way, but instead, you turn your attention to everyone other than him. It makes Kayn feel like his admiration for you was one-sided, which can hurt someone who believes firmly that everyone likes him!
In a way, it's Kayn's fault. He never made an effort to get close to you. It was his fault for being so broody and distant. It was his fault for never reaching out for help, let alone your attention.
It's when Kayn decided that he had to be a little selfish if he wanted to get anywhere with you. While he still believed you should have been looking his way from the beginning with adoration and starstruck eyes, he supposed he could make an effort to get you to see how hot and amazing he was!
It will come as a pleasant surprise to you when Kayn slowly becomes more forthcoming! While he sometimes comes off as a jerk, interrupting your time with others in order to have you all to himself, you knew he had good intentions and just wanted to get closer to you- As a friend, of course~
Even though you won't immediately reciprocate Kayn's feelings, that won't stop him from trying to win you over. He can accept things as they are for a while longer. And if anything, it will only make him more desperate with time!
So long as you reserve that sweet smile for him, he'll keep doting over you until you grow to love him on your own terms.

midnight ๋࣭ ⭑ chocol
gayoung and you share a dorm room, but you can't help but wonder why she always arrives late and leaves early each morning
| wc: 3.7 k 🫶
The clock struck midnight, and you were doing your homework. However, you could not concentrate as your mind drifted to  your mysterious roommate, Gayoung. Over the course of nearly a semester, Gayoung and you have shared a dorm, and despite your now limited interactions, you always appreciated her—nevertheless, she seems to have a completely changed her schedule from yours, often arriving late when you are asleep and leaving too early in the morning—your occasional conversations would happen during afternoons when she is in the dorm or when you cannot sleep. Despite this, Gayoung was a great roommate, as her side of the room is consistently tidy, she is never noisy, and she always leaves some ready-to-eat breakfast for you.
Every interaction with her left you with a sense of curiosity—there was no doubt that she was chatty, but most of the time, she now seemed nervous around you. It was as if she would rather not be present when you were there. Gayoung was not always like this, you clearly remember the joy she found in your company. Recalling how your favorite shared activity was grocery shopping—it was something both of you were fond of, always joking around about how you resembled a married couple. Yet, in contrast to those moments, the present reality felt distant.
Speculations crept into your thoughts—maybe she wanted to change dorms and was patiently waiting for the semester to end before making the request? The uncertainty lingered as you mechanically typed away on your Google document, the words on the screen blurring into a nonsensical mess rather than an essay—thinking about Gayoung made it impossible to focus on anything else.
Frustrated and needing a break, you considered leaving your laptop on the desk and watching something on the television. Just as you were about to surrender to the distraction, you heard a particular sound—keys rattling on the other side of the door; Gayoung had arrived. You turned your chair around and watched as she entered the dorm, and her immediate reaction spoke volumes—she clearly did not expect to see you awake. The door shut behind her, locking it, and then she leaned casually against the wall.
"Hi, Chocol." You greeted, using her nickname. "How's it going?" You turned back to your homework, pretending to pay attention to it. Perhaps, you supposed, avoiding direct eye contact would help ease her evident nervousness in your presence.
"I'm doing alright." She replied, the audible click of her keys finding their place on the holder. "And you? Why are you staying up so late?"
"Homework." You complained, adopting an annoyed tone. "Mr. Parra seems to hate us. I have to do an essay on English morphosyntax, and I don't know shit."
Gayoung let out a dry chuckle. "Classic Parra move. I had him last semester." She said, settling onto her desk, situated next to yours. "Need a hand with that?"
As you directed your gaze toward her, she promptly shifted her attention to turning on her computer. "No, it’s okay." You said, softly smiling. "Besides, what if he thinks I plagiarized it?"
"He won't even check it. Just throw in some references following APA, he’ll think you did the research." She reassured you. "Send me the document, and I'll help you."
A light giggle escaped your lips. "I accept, but just a bit of help, though. I'm not asking you to write the whole thing for me."
"What have you written so far?" Gayoung asked.
"I've done the introduction and about two pages of just laying out basic definitions and the significance of delving into the roots of words." You explained, scanning through the document. “That’s it, basically.”
Gayoung wheeled her chair closer to yours, positioning herself to inspect the document firsthand. She reached for your laptop and began typing, fully immersed in the essay; she effortlessly began writing.
"Chocol, there's something I've been wanting to ask you." You said, recognizing the rare opportunity that she was there.
Gayoung stopped typing momentarily, her fingers hovering over the keyboard before turning to you and giving a nod. "Mhm, tell me."
"Why are you never here? I've noticed you always show up late and leave before I even wake up." You asked, following up with a little joke. "It's almost like you're avoiding me."
Gayoung chuckled, adjusting her chair to face you directly, and for the first time in what seemed like forever, she managed to maintain eye contact for more than just a few seconds. A quietness enveloped the room as she hesitated to respond, however, the atmosphere, rather than uncomfortable, was tense, as if she was about to confess that she found you annoying or that you were a terrible roommate.
She nervously ran her fingers through her orange hair, letting out a small sigh as she poked her tongue out. "Nothing, in particular, I guess." She responded, her demeanor subtly uneasy.
Watching her, you could not ignore that there was more to this. "Are you sure? I mean, it seems like basically avoiding me is more than just 'nothing.'"
"I just enjoy driving around at night." Gayoung explained, her words having a hint of defensiveness. "And I don't want to bother you, so I come back late. It's just that... I guess." She trailed off, revealing she could not find the proper words to form her sentence.
"Bother me?" You questioned, perplexed by what she said. "Why would you bother me? I like being around you. I wish we could interact more often—now we hardly talk in person, and our texts are usually just you saying 'left you oatmeal for breakfast' or simple things. I miss you." You took a deep breath. “I miss how close we were, Gayoung. I miss how we were before.”
Gayoung remained silent, her eyes fixed on you, lost in thoughts. As you continued to look at her, details about her appearance that had previously escaped you became apparent: like how pretty the delicate moles beneath her eye were, the slightly messy eyeliner, and how deep her eye color was.
You pressed on. "Ch... Gayoung, it's been almost five months since we lived together, and this is probably the most we've spoken in the past three weeks. When we first met, I thought by now we'd be inseparable. I remember how we giggled and chatted as we rearranged the entire place, and you helped me unpack my stuff, or the first time we went grocery shopping."
She was not the same as when you first became roommates, the warmth and closeness was long gone.
The memories washed over you, tinged with nostalgia despite their recent occurrence. However, Gayoung rolled her eyes and averted her gaze as she sighed, making you realize that—she might genuinely not want you around.
"Sorry for talking so much, I just wish we were closer. I'll leave you alone." You concluded.
You stood up from your desk, grabbing your phone and keys. Gayoung remained silent, still not uttering a single word as you left the dorm, firmly shutting the door behind you. As you left the building, you sought comfort in the night—the campus was quiet, with nothing open at this hour. Sitting on a bench, you drew your legs up to your chest, attempting to gather your thoughts amid the silence. The thought of returning to the dorm weighed heavily on your mind, you could not stay outside forever, and the uncertainty of how Gayoung would react upon your return made you nervous. The possibility crossed your mind that she might have left already or did not want to sleep there anymore, deepening the whole situation.
In a whisper to yourself, you could not help but acknowledge what awaited you. "Oh my god, it's going to be so awkward now. I definitely fucked this up."
Despite Gayoung's insistence that there was nothing wrong, the lack of clarity on her part only made you worry. If, for some reason, your presence was so undesirable, you could not understand why she would not be honest rather than resort to avoiding you.
The sound of your phone getting a notification disrupted the silence. You chose to ignore it and did not check your phone—however, as the notifications continued, you thought that perhaps it was something important. Surrendering to the constant texts, you checked your phone, unlocking it to reveal it was Gayoung.

As you made your way to the dorm, each step made you more nervous—you wondered what awaited you or what Gayoung wanted to say. Upon reaching the dorm, you hesitated, taking a deep breath before unlocking the door. As you got inside, Gayoung sat in the same spot, her head nestled between her hands.
You got close to her, extending your hand and placing it gently on her back, tracing soft circles. "Chocol, I apologize for bringing that up. It's alright—I just hope things won't be weird between us now."
"No." She said abruptly, her response leaving you perplexed.
Suddenly, Gayoung grasped a handful of her hair, an action that showed the intensity of her emotions—you remained still, confused, but ready to offer her your support. Gayoung got up abruptly and stood in front of you, biting the inside of her cheek before trying to speak. She was anxious, it was evident—her hands trembled, and you could hear how heavy she was breathing.
"Cho-" You began, trying to calm her, but she cut you off.
"Things were, and will always be, weird between us." She admitted through gritted teeth, a raw honesty emphasizing her words. “Always.”
"Huh?" You muttered immediately. "But it was never awkward or anything like that." Your mind raced as you attempted to remember every interaction with Gayoung. Besides her nervousness and odd schedule, you could not pinpoint a moment that actually felt awkward.
"For you." Gayoung responded.
Rendered speechless, you were looking into the depth of her eyes, full of an indescribable emotion. Gayoung bit her lip and adjusted her glasses before opening her mouth as if she was going to speak—nevertheless, she took a step forward. The realization dawned on you that Gayoung wanted to leave. It seemed like a paradox—she had messaged you because she wanted to talk, yet, before any conversation happened, she was already trying to leave. She slipped her hands into her pockets and began walking—in an attempt to not let her leave, you instinctively reached out, placing your hands gently on her shoulders.
"Gayoung." You pleaded, maintaining your grip on her shoulders. "You can't just leave."
“Why?” She said sharply. “Give me a valid reason, and I'll stay.”
"I simply asked you a question. It's strange how defensive you are. Is my presence truly that irritating to you? If it is, we can maintain the same routine, but just be honest with me." You expressed. "Chocol, just tell me the truth, I promise I won't be upset."
“You don't irritate me." She mumbled almost under her breath.
"It confuses me." You admitted, realizing you had been unintentionally squeezing her shoulders, and you stopped applying pressure. "You still help me with my homework and make me breakfast, yet you seem so distant—what's so wrong about me that you don't want to see me?" You stopped looking at Gayoung, as now you were feeling vulnerable. “What changed?”
Gayoung delicately laid her hands on top of yours, fingers intertwining, causing a subtle pressure on her shoulders. As you stared at your and Gayoung's hands, a wave of emotions hit you, and at that moment, it felt as though your roles had reversed, and now, you were the one needing to avoid her. She held her silence for a moment, and in that pause, your attention shifted to the cool touch of her rings and the way her gaze lingered upon you, a subtle and slightly crooked smile appearing on her lips. The combination overwhelmed you—this was too much.
"Should I tell you the truth?" She asked, not bothering to wait for your response before continuing. "Now that I think about it, if that's what you want, I'll be honest, pretty." Despite the sharpness in her words, the use of that nickname caught you off guard. It had been so long since she last called you that, but it still had the same effect on you.
As she spoke, memories clouded your mind—memories when she was not anxious around you, when she could make you feel nervous in an entirely different way. Initially, when you first met her, she was playful, making you laugh with her jokes and comments, and her flirty and overconfident personality created a distinct dynamic. Right now, it was as if Gayoung was reverting to the person you first met.
"Gayoung." You called out her name. "Be honest, then."
She gently squeezed your hands before letting them go. As a response, you released your grip on her shoulders, taking a step back, your back meeting your dresser as you gave her some space. Gayoung did the same, maintaining a small distance between you.
"First, let me apologize." She began. "I didn't want to be mean—I was just frustrated."
"Don't apologize." You whispered, a subtle worry settling in your stomach. Apologies seemed insignificant compared to the desire to hear what Gayoung had to say. "Please, just say it." You pleaded. "Why are you avoiding me?"
Her eyes fixed on you. "Well, I suppose I've got nothing to lose in telling you." She let out a dry chuckle—before tucking a strand of your hair behind your ear.
Her hands found their place on your waist, Gayoung’s fingertips barely touching the skin your crop top revealed—an involuntary smile appeared on your lips, as a response to the unexpected affection. Perhaps, at this moment, the words you had dreamed to hear from her were on the brink of being spoken. Only a few minutes had passed, yet an overwhelming silence surrounded the space—it was as if Gayoung was playing a deliberate game, making you wait before talking—every passing second felt like an eternity.
Her eyes continued analyzing you, studying every subtle reaction you made. "The moment we met, I too, believed we'd be inseparable." She revealed. "And that was my mistake."
Your brows furrowed as you tried to understand the ambiguity of the term 'her mistake.' Without saying a word, you allowed her to lead the conversation, recognizing her perceptiveness—it did not take long for her to answer the unspoken question lingering in the air.
"I called it a mistake because every moment spent with you made me want to give you all my time, all my attention, everything." Gayoung confessed, smiling. "I thought of you every second, eagerly expecting to come here just to see you, accompanying you everywhere, buying you your favorite treats, and listening to every word you said."
As she expressed these feelings, a flood of memories came to your mind, making you want to go back to the past to relive the experiences now missed. Her pause carried a certain vulnerability, evident in the slight glistening of her now softer eyes.
She took a deep breath. "I realized I was falling for you the night we were supposed to stay up all night watching movies."
Your gaze met hers, the revelation was not entirely shocking, yet hearing her say it aloud and not in your dreams, made it surreal.
"I remember it clearly. You picked the movie excitedly, midway through, you placed your head on my shoulder, and I wrapped my arm around you. I was so nervous you'd notice my heartbeat." Gayoung recalled. "Then, I noticed you had fallen asleep. I didn't want to move, fearing you might wake up. I hesitated even to lie down on your bed; in my mind, it felt too weird for two friends. My mind raced with questions like 'What if you woke up and found me practically cuddling with you?'"
Drawing closer, Gayoung gently squeezed your waist, and your gaze softened as you looked at her. She seemed entangled in the uncertainties of 'what ifs' and you only wished she had told you how she felt that day.
"I couldn’t sleep that night. I remember when you woke up, mentioning I was up early. I hadn’t even fucking slept." Gayoung chuckled at her remembering the situation. "Throughout the night, I couldn't stop thinking about how much I fucking liked you, how pretty you looked every time, especially when you wore my clothes, and how considerate and caring you are. I began contemplating how I would even tell you."
"Chocol, why didn't you tell me?" You asked, now placing a hand on her back.
"Because I was, and am, stupid." She spoke. "I was scared, so afraid you'd reject me or not want to live with someone who had feelings for you."
As she melted into your touch, it became obvious how much she needed the comfort of your embrace. "Hey, don't say you're stupid." You reassured Gayoung.
"I started avoiding you on a day when I couldn't stop thinking about how much I craved your touch. When I got to the dorm, you hugged me, saying how much you had missed me, and I lazily hugged you back. Remember?" Gayoung said, and you nodded. "It broke my heart because I felt too much for you, and I couldn't confess it. So, I started arriving late every day—I didn't even drive around the city; I just stayed at the library until they kicked me out or in the parking lot, and every time I opened the door and saw you asleep, my heart raced, and I felt guilty."
Gayoung held you even closer, and you moved your hand to her hair, letting it lose itself in her orange locks.
"I feel stupid because I made you feel bad. You obviously noticed I was avoiding you. I couldn't keep it up anymore, so I still left your breakfast ready because it was the only way I could show you I still cared for you without direct contact." Gayoung confessed. "The moment you asked me why I was never in the dorm, it weighed me down because I knew I couldn't lie to you for long."
"Chocol, look at me." You insisted, and she slightly pulled away, just enough to see you. "You should have just told me."
"I couldn't be-" She began, but you cut her off this time.
"I like you too, silly." You admitted with a smile. "The moment I met you for the first time, I almost screamed, I had no idea how I was going to survive being your roommate. Gayoung, you were always attentive, attractive, caring, and sweet- of course, I was going to fall for you too."
Gayoung felt a bit foolish. As it suddenly became very obvious that, of course, you liked her too. How could you not?
"How didn't you notice? I always craved your touch too. I wanted to hold your hand, hug you, and be as close to you as I could. Remember how nervous I got when I had to sit on your lap at Yeni's party?" You giggled.
"Now I've noticed." Gayoung admitted with a laugh. "Just now. Yeni always told me she knew you liked me too, but I never believed her. Damn, I should have listened."
She tenderly placed her hand on your cheek, gently tracing circles before tilting her head enough to make direct eye contact. Your mind was captivated by her pretty lips, and it was evident that she, too, was fixated on yours.
Gayoung got closer, her warmth enveloping you. "Can I?" She asked.
"Can you?" You playfully responded, and she laughed. "Of course you can."
Gayoung closed the gap between you, drawing close to your lips. Her lips barely brushed against yours—she wanted to savor the moment. The kiss was soft and slow, it perfectly reflected Gayoung's feelings. At that moment, held in her embrace, you realized how much you wanted this.
She pulled back, smiling, revealing the happiness that rushed within her. She gave you a quick kiss before hugging you. "Fuck, I adore you so much." Gayoung whispered in your ear.
"Then, kiss me again." You said. "Kiss me every time you think of me."
"If I did that, I would never stop." She replied before kissing you again. The way she held you, made you feel like she viewed you as a porcelain doll, Gayoung was so careful. "Maybe I want you to kiss me when you think of me too." She teased.
"I'm grateful we could clear this up." You whispered.
"Me too." Gayoung said, giving you a small peck on the forehead. "Oh, and by the way..." She chuckled.
"What happened?" You curiously asked.
"Mr. Parra is going to give you a 100." She said. "I hope at least."
"Huh?" You muttered, confused. What did Mr. Parra have to do with you and Gayoung? Why did that old man matter right now?
"I finished your essay for you when you left me alone." Gayoung admitted, and you jokingly slapped her shoulder.
"So, while I was nearly having an existential crisis outside, you were writing my essay?" You laughed. "You're crazy."
"I just wanted to help you with that, and I needed to occupy my mind while I thought about how I was going to speak to you." She confessed.
You gave her a kiss on the cheek, then separated from her, walking to sit at your desk. Gayoung placed her hands on your shoulders and leaned down to rest her head atop yours.
"I'm going to double-check it, thank you." You said, reading where you had stopped writing.
You couldn't see her, but she was smiling. "You're welcome, pretty."
"Gayoung, just one more thing." You muttered. "Promise me that when I wake up, you're going to be here, please."
She let her head fall on your shoulder, leaning against your ear. "Of course, my doll." She whispered. "But, you won't have to worry about that—my arms will be wrapped around you all night until we wake up."

A Comparison of No Longer Human's Yozo and Bungou Stray Dogs' Dazai, Part 1
Disclaimer: I'm just a person with a keyboard, a book and a passion for stories, I don't have a degree, I'm just having fun and making connections where I see them. If you don't agree that's fine, but don't come for me.
An exploration of what I think are shared themes, symbols and character roles surrounding Yozo's life in No Longer Human and Dazai's in Bungou Stray Dogs.
Spoilers for BSD main timeline, Fifteen and Dark Era. And Spoilers for No Longer Human
Yozo’s Childhood and Dazai Disconnect From People
For the most part Dazai’s childhood is completely unknown in BSD, so we can’t directly compare Dazai’s and Yozo’s childhood experiences, but Yozo’s childhood could help explain some of Dazai’s mentality when interacting with other people.
In No Longer Human we learn that Yozo has felt emotionally disconnected from the people around him for as long as he can remember, that disconnect formed a constant fear of others, of making them angry with him and of the idea they would hurt him. He copes with this by becoming a ‘clown’, making himself laughable and therefore not suspicious in hopes of being accepted.
‘This was how I happened to invent my clowning. It was the last quest for love I was to direct at human beings.’ - Yozo, No Longer Human ‘I thought, “As long as I can make them laugh, it doesn’t matter how, I’ll be alright. If I succeed in that, the human beings probably won’t mind it too much if I remain outside their lives.’ - Yozo, No Longer Human
In the early manga/anime of Bungou Stray Dogs, though we don’t see Dazai express specifically a fear of other people, we see he uses humour as a way to compensate, telling jokes that often feel out of place because he doesn’t know how else to express himself. He makes light of situations not because he doesn’t care, but it’s how he connects.
Tumblr media
In his attempts to help Atsushi, who has no money to buy his own food, Dazai offers to buy him whatever he wants, but he makes a joke about Atsushi's choice. He's clowning here because he doesn't know how to simply offer earnest help.
Although, unlike Yozo who is terrified of people being angry with him, Dazai has no problem using his humour to agitate and get under people's skin, like the way he is constantly poking fun at Kunikida. I still think this one of Dazai's unfortunate ways of connecting with people as he is mostly shown messing with people close to him and engages less in such behaviours with people he doesn't.
When Dazai doesn’t know how to make light of the situation he goes quiet, often getting a serious look on his face. Like in the warehouse scene when Atsushi is talking about himself negatively, Dazai reacts by not reacting. He clearly wants to say something to him, but doesn't know how. He’s processing, he wants to bridge that gap but he doesn’t know what to do, at least not in the beginning of the manga/anime.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dazai also react similarly to this when Nikolai is mourning Fyodor. Him listening without commenting is how he shows sympathy
We see him slowly evolve from his terrible attempt to comfort Atsushi after dispelling Q’s ability, to him eventually making Sigma believe in both him and the Agency. He's still learning how to connect with people throughout the story.
This comedic act could also hint at why Dazai left his home as a child. In NLH Yozo’s high school is situated away from his hometown and family, he lives with a distant relative whilst attending it. He finds himself more at ease there because strangers more naturally believe his clowning and lies. Unless we are given an actual backstory we may never know why Dazai was so depressed when he met Mori or why he willingly went with him, but being able to essentially reinvent himself and having his lies more easily believed may have fed into it.
It something he also does when he joins the Agency. He doesn't want to acknowledge his past if he can help it.
Family is something Yozo feared and perhaps it was for Dazai too.
‘An actor dreads most the audience in his home town; I imagine the greatest actor in the world would be quite paralyzed in a room where all his family and relatives were gathered to watch him.’ - Yozo, No Longer Human
We do get to witness Dazai’s fear of others later in the manga through his present day relationship with Ango. The betrayal he experienced through Ango has left him emotionally scarred to the point he holds back when forming new friendships, keeping everyone at far more of a distance than he did Ango or Oda. It’s a betrayal he can neither come to terms with or walk away from. He still takes his pain out on Ango, but then creates scenarios where he’s dependent on him too. He simultaneously fears losing Ango for good and being open enough to get hurt by him again (and others as well).
Tumblr media
Dazai is relying on his connection with Ango for this plan. It's shown in BSD that Fukuzawa has connections that could have helped them here, but Dazai wanted to go to Ango, he wanted to create a scenario where they needed each other.
Kyouka’s entrance exam and Dazai’s connection to the outside world in Meursault are both plans that wouldn’t have worked without Ango. He’s still someone Dazai feels strongly about and respects.
Though, a respected man isn’t something to be admired or envied in Yozo’s eyes. They are a clever liar who has succeeded in tricking their audience and gaining their trust. Someone to be exposed and weary of becoming. Someone who will betray you, just like Ango did to Dazai. The plans Dazai involves Ango in usually require him to lie to/manipulate/or betray his current organization. Dazai still sees him as inherently deceitful, he just uses it to his advantage now.
‘My definition of a “respected” man was one who had succeeded almost completely in hoodwinking people, but who was finally seen through by some omniscient, omnipotent person who ruined him and made him suffer a shame worse than death.’ - Yozo, No Longer Human ‘What would be the wrath and vengeance of those who realised how they had been tricked!’ - Yozo, No Longer Human.
Tumblr media
It is heavily implied Dazai is the reason Ango's air bag didn't work. Just one part of his vengeance upon the respected man who betrayed him.
This definition of a respected man might also be why Dazai slacks off so much around work. Yozo, whilst being the smartest student in his class, fears that reputation and uses his clownery to maintain popularity amongst his peers and his unassuming appearance. He doesn’t want to stand out as a respected individual and neither does Dazai. He actively seems to discourage Atsushi from thinking that way about him by fooling around, even though it doesn’t work because Atsushi still greatly admires him.
The other pivotal experience that relates to Dazai from Yozo’s childhood is his friend, Takeichi.
Takeichi is an interesting character because he starts out as someone Yozo is afraid of. He’s a student who sees through Yozo’s class clown act and calls him out on it. Yozo then proceeds to essentially stalk Takeichi out of fear of being exposed as a fraud, only to end up inviting Takeichi to his home and spending time together. They become friends, he’s the only person Yozo actually opens up to, in a meaningful way. Takeichi symbolises a genuine human connection for Yozo, a way into the regular world, but as they grow older they are separated and Yozo grows distant from people again.
Takeichi for me is both Oda and Ango.
Oda and Ango are Dazai’s first friends. Dazai forming his connection with them his first step into the light, into connecting with other people rather than sitting on the outside. As Children Takeichi and Yozo discover their love of impressionist art. Yozo starts to paint self-portraits inspired by Van Gogh, they are a glimpse of his innermost self, which he shows to solely Takeichi. This mirrors how Oda and Ango create that safe space for Dazai to be himself in the Lupin Bar. That bar is their canvas where they are free to paint their souls without fear. They don’t judge and shun Dazai the way the rest of the world seems to have.
‘The pictures I drew were so heart-rending as to stupefy even myself. Here was the true self I had so desperately hidden. I had smiled cheerfully; I had made others laugh; but this was the harrowing reality.’ - Yozo, No Longer Human ‘Naturally I did not show my pictures to anyone except Takeichi. I disliked the thought that I might suddenly be subjected to [other people’s] suspicious vigilance … On the other hand I was equally afraid that they might not recognise my true self when they saw it’ - Yozo, No Longer Human ‘To Takeichi (and to him alone) I could display my easily wounded sensibilities, and I did not hesitate to show him my self-portraits.’ - Yozo, No Longer Human
In fact when Dazai leans too hard into his clowning act Ango is the one trying to discourage him from it. There's a genuine care for Dazai's mental health and safety shown in these moments.
Though just like Yozo and Takeichi in NLH, Dazai, Oda and Ango are separated. For Dazai it doesn’t symbolise a descent back into the darkness, but perhaps a journey cut short. Instead of the three of them coming into the light at their own pace, Dazai is thrust ahead, ill prepared and alone. Oda is dead and he can’t rely on Ango because of his betrayal. Dazai is stuck in a liminal space with no one to guide him on how to become 'more human'.
Before Takeichi and Yozo are separated, Takeichi makes what Yozo refers to as prophecies about Yozo’s life. That he’ll be popular with girls and a great artist. To some extent both of these end up true, Yozo has many girlfriends and he does become a paid cartoonist, but his relationships are chaotic and unhealthy, and his job is unreliable and he hates it. The prophecies are also curses. This to me, is like Oda’s last request of Dazai, he tells Dazai to be a good man and to help people. He does this in an attempt to save Dazai from his own spiraling and give his life some future meaning. Dazai chooses to live by these words, we constantly see him struggle to do so, Oda’s words haunt him as much as they guide him. His promise and his curse.
And that's it for Part 1! If you read all this way then thank you very much for your time, I hope you enjoyed it! I don't know when Part 2 will be out because I'm making notes as I re-read through NLH, but hopefully it won't be too long!

Hello.... What do you think are Fushiguro and Itadori’s greatest personality strengths and weaknesses? Why? What do you love about their dynamic? Thanks if you want to answer....
Hello! Sorry for the delay in responding.
That's a good question, thanks for submitting it.
Well, I'll start with Yuji. I think his strong point (which was currently pointed out even by Sukuna) is his unshakable humanity. He is always willing to be a stronger version of himself, to evolve as a sorcerer and a person, to protect those he loves. No matter how many times Yuji falls, he will always get up and fight again to protect those he loves most. His willpower is impressive and one of the reasons why he hasn't lost control of his emotions yet, something Nanamin and Todo pointed out as being useless as a sorcerer (I felt like a proud mother seeing him fighting Sukuna so seriously, no. letting the memory of Nanami and Higuruma's "death" affect him, something that would have happened in his times in Shibuya.) I think this is what makes his character to the general public so good and easy to love.
Now, his weak point is certainly the great empathy he feels for people. Don't get me wrong, empathetic and kind characters are my favorites in any media, but Yuji takes it to a very high level. He feels guilty about things that are often not his fault directly (such as the large flow of curses that arose after he ate Sukuna's finger or the deaths caused in Shibuya). The empathy he feels for people makes him forget about saving his own skin (as happened in juvie, as Yuji sacrificed himself to save Megumi and Nobara and only managed to make things worse by, well, leaving sukuna free to kill him and cause harm to Megumi) and consequently puts her friends in danger. This is so real that even external characters have to state that he is not to blame, like Panda saying that Yaga died post-shibuya and Yuta hiding that Toge lost his arm when Sukuna expanded the domain, although it is pointless since Yuji is so trapped in the request from his grandfather who cannot bear to be responsible - directly and indirectly - for the deaths of innocent people.
In Megumi's case, I think his strong point is his wit and maturity. He is a very focused sorcerer who quickly analyzes situations and draws up logical plans to win. Even though she seems cold and distant, Megumi always thinks of others when he makes a plan and puts the safety of others above his own - something very similar to Yuji. His intelligence is what makes a character trustworthy, so much so that he was already going out on missions alone, he was praised by Nanami and Nobara and Yuji trust him a lot when it comes to having a plan. However, his weak point is, as Gojo said, his mentality. Megumi has serious self-esteem issues that end up affecting how he interacts with the other characters, remaining distant and stoic, and how he fights - always saving Mahoraga as a last resort because we know what happens when he summons him. He cannot see himself as powerful, so he does not fight much when facing a powerful enemy, using Mahoraga to secure a victory. He doesn't consider himself important to others, so much so that, despite thinking about Yuji when he's about to die in Shibuya, he doesn't regret his decision. This is Megumi's weakest point and it is for this reason that he still cannot suppress Sukuna like Yuji did. Megumi gave up everything when Tsumiki died (which is understandable) and is now just waiting for someone to kill Sukuna (I doubt he's waiting for salvation and I believe a "there's nothing left to be saved" moment could happen soon)
When it comes to dynamics, I love how Yuji and Megumi complement each other perfectly, which reflects in their fighting style. Megumi is a long-range fighter, while Yuji is a melee opponent. Yuji is muscular and Megumi is intelligent. And they're also a lot of fun to follow, both in battle and in their interactions. Going further, I really like how Yuji always claims that Megumi is someone who is smart, kind and trustworthy, valuing those little details that Megumi doesn't seem to notice (in fact, I really believe that Yuji is much more observant than most people he thinks, because that alone explains how he noticed Osawa's cute handwriting and the way she eats fish; my boy may be slow, but he's not a complete idiot). I also really like how Megumi always takes care of Yuji, whether it's making sure he's okay and thinking of ways so they don't have to kill in the slaughter game, and giving Yuji meaning to continue living ("so start by saving me, Itadori ", a real glue to repair the crack in Yuji's conviction and humanity).
Anyway, I think that's it. I'm a little tired because I woke up early lmao. Thanks again for submitting this question. It was fun and I love talking about my boys.

What's ur pov on the burning of birka and why this single elf burned the whole village after getting rejection from a single human women. At last I didn't know that any male elves find human women pretty enough for dating.
Ah, but it's a bit of question mark whether male elves are, indeed, averse to human women, isn't it? The incredibly high rate of mixing between Aen Seidhe and humans by the 1200s would not hold up otherwise.
Tumblr media
I believe we hear about this topic for the first time in the Last Wish. In Geralt's view, pure-blooded elves are not known for admiring human women for their beauty; i.e. the reader is led to infer that male elves don't find human women attractive enough to have sex with, much less to pursue a romantic relationship with.
But Geralt is already, how to put it, compromised. He has met Yennefer. He is wont to wishful thinking, including dismissing any signals of Chireadan harbouring romantic feelings toward Yen. Geralt is likely looking for rationalisations to deny this possibility (besides, he likes Chireadan). Alas, Chireadan - a male elf - is very much infatuated with Yennefer of Vengeberg - a human sorceress.
Okay, but doesn't Yennefer have elven ancestry? Probably.
Tumblr media
I wouldn't put too much faith in the words of any man who pulls any variation of the "tainted womb" argument with the woman they slept with, but then again this is the Witcher & I am partial to an elf who exploded the cousin of that line of argumentation onto the level of foreign and domestic policy, so whatever. It's always the women who are at fault anyway, am I right? Yennefer is born a hunchback; an elven changeling if there ever was one to dear pa, Janka. And it's only because of her vague and distant elven ancestry (and sorceresses' enchantments) that Chireadan could be taken with Yen in the first place, surely. What would that make elven males then? Bloodhounds? Because it's the elven women, who were blood traitors, surely, not elven men.
Ah. Well.
'Unbridled lust never leaves you, sex totally governs you; it’s a drive more powerful even than the survival instinct. To die? Why not, if one can fuck around beforehand. That is your entire philosophy.’ Geralt didn’t interrupt or comment, although he felt a strong desire to. ‘And what suddenly happens?’ Avallac’h continued. ‘Elves, bored by she-elves, court the always-willing human females. Bored she-elves give themselves, out of perverse curiosity, to human males, always full of vigour and verve.' - Avallac'h Tower of the Swallow
Avallac'h is pretty unambiguous - humans are easy and elves are ever so often looking for something that would keep them from turning into their precious Amell marble statues.
The entire discourse is an ethnic conflict classic in how it treats women's bodies, to be honest, but that's a longer story; I recently wrote about the political underpinnings of elven sexual relations. The realism of Sapkowski's fantastical races desires is sufficiently proven though, I think, in the very nature of the problems they are made to face. And not only long-lived elven women crave novelty (or intensity of emotion), and not only elven women should get the blame for it.
(Obvs blame game here is inherently fucked up in the first place, and a symptom.)
Male elves are not somehow biologically coded not to desire human women. Their contribution to the shared human-elf gene pool had to be pretty significant for it to have become hard at present day to find any human who would not have a dash of Seidhe Ichaer in their veins. In fact, the view Geralt parrots in the 1200s - when the Aen Seidhe have become a de facto ethnic minority - is probably more reflective of elven nationalist views adopted AFTER the experiment with coexistence and cooperation took a turn for the usual - ideological poisoning and resurgence of Them vs Us, persecution, cleansing & genocide.
Okay, sure. But what if it's just sex then? Romance is still laughable. Because did you read Auberon's & Ciri's interactions??? I did. One too many times, trust me.
But I don't think Aen Elle give definite proof. The reasons for all three rejecting Ciri 'the woman' on various levels - even while trying to get her with child as a matter of course - are pretty complex; not to forget that Ciri is not a grown woman yet and that this is - overall - her nightmarish becoming-of-age story, the loss of innocence, etc.
(For Auberon, romance is likely out of the question since Ciri's eyes remind him of his dead daughter - Lara - but sex might be achievable due to equal resemblance to Shiadhal, Lara's mother; and ends justify the means. There is also the deep-seated hatred for humanity as a whole, for humans cost Auberon his daughter's life & his ambitions which were installed within that life.
For Avallac'h, romantic notions are very much present in his idealization of the Swallow, Lara's daughter, but at the time Ciri offers herself to him, sex is still unacceptable; the humiliation too evident, the anger too deeply entrenched in ennobled suffering (even against the temptation of taking petty revenge), and the threat ever-present - of having the source of the projection of his romantic notions be over-written and erased in the course of the act, resulting in total loss of control over the narrative-Lara and narrative-Crevan Avallac'h has never let go of in his thoughts and forever-loving heart; like a true necromancer.
For Eredin, the notion of a storybook-worthy romance is veilled in a kind of wistful melancholy, irony, and indifference; because ultimately the notion is Ciri's projection, which he sees through and uses to further the elves' ends. They are both tools in the greater scheme of things - which orders them about - and while sex is not unacceptable, it is just unnecessary given the parts they presently have to play and, insofar, remains uninteresting. Ciri is Death and Eredin a corpse; a corpse can create nothing but itself through communion with Death. And that's not in the Plan of things.)
Elves are, by nature, a "not so rational" species; soundbite courtesy of Ida Emean. "Neither our race nor our power draws its strength from rationality. In spite of that it has endured for tens of thousands of years." Fey folk can be famously mercurial and temperamental, and, as we have learned, value beauty, novelty, and memory of life's particularity.
Bringing us to what happened at Birka, or the later Flaming Jealousy.
Tumblr media
First of all - an elven farmer. Elves don't farm. So you have a mature elf who has tried to integrate, or a young elf who has been born into the current world order where elves are either giving up or losing their culture, magic (connected to land, which integrates them), and position in the society. Definitely not elven elite here, and we have already seen what elven elite can get involved in. However, upbringing matters in regulating expressed behaviour and in this instance we probably have an elf who is trying to go with the flow despite the difficulties; indeed, why not even entertain him a supporter of the co-existence and co-operation - khm, commingling, khm - ideals? In fact, would not pursuing a miller's daughter advance our elven farmer in the new social structure better than remaining isolationist along with his fellow elves? To then have this denied to you in the aforedescribed fashion is like the entire human society spitting in your face.
Secondly, nobody likes having their feelings mocked, especially if said feelings are deep and true.
Thirdly, it is said the elf exploded somewhat untypically for his race. That's what humans think due to elven haughtiness. Yet, if we take another explosion - Avallac'h at Ciri - then I cannot help but wonder how "untypical" it really was; if deeply personal matters are concerned (matters which give way for foundational memories in a long-lived species)? Especially given that jealousy and dramatic outcomes accompanied the Crevan-Lara-Cregennan triangle as well, and who knows how blind was Crevan's love or what was Lara's attitude to everything.
There is also the option that the story blames the miller's daughter. A culprit is needed, after all; a village was burned down! It better be that the cause for such tragedy is sufficiently dramatic and understandably horrible. A woman who slept around - with her relatives even! - just to spite an elf could serve as a solid wicked witch; co-existence advocates can blame her, while humans can blame the hotheaded, unreliable elf. Win-win. Given that we are given this information in Tower of the Swallow - the same book that provides a scene where Avallac'h says something eerily similar in effect about Lara's choices and their tragic consequences - the possibility of historical revisionism remains.
So I think the burning down of Birka can serve as great insight into how deeply and strongly elves - those cool and distant-seeming creatures - can feel, and how partial they can become once they have made their mind up about something or someone, especially if spurred on by a strong emotion. (Consider how elves, who value life inherently, genocided and subjected humans to servitude in their new homeworld; how it all could have happened after Lara's death or as a result of developments between Aen Seidhe and humanity.) But I also think it can show us how unexpectedly drastic can be the results of male jealousy, and how retroactively told stories can always find a reason and an ultimate culprit.
Personal feelings drive most of the Witcher's tragedy - beneath all the great Plans and machinations - and so, too, here.

I find pre-canon Kabru's Crew interactions rather intriguing. Kabru and Rin growing up in a household of orphans managed by one mildly freaky (if loving) ex-death squad commander. Holm In Elf Jail. Mickbell lowkey terrified of the kobold who would gnaw off a man's face for him and yet increasingly attached to because he's the one person he has in the world (having had a rough upbringing Mick is hesitant to call Kuro family... yet), and Kuro feeling protective even if their partnership seems odd.
YES!! Anon you get it. I'm glad we got some extra comics of Kabru and Milsiril but ngl I would have loved some more Rin backstory. I don't think Rin grew-up with Milsiril though, but maybe eventually she got moved into that house??? And also she practices Eastern Magic but how did she hone it?? Is she just an excellent self study (probably)?? I need to know more!!!!
Tumblr media
No wonder Rin loves Kabru he was the only beacon of hope after being traumatized and then after just days of this....
Tumblr media
Poor baby girl no..........
Holm is wild I think the only real mistake that is so, SO tiny about the anime that I'm kind of miffed about but I really will get over is that they had him eat meat when he doesn't like to eat meat (and he doesn't drink) for religious reasons. But also it's such a tiny little detail that I can forgive them, I really can, it's very much such a tiny detail in this tiny little side character. But also when did he become religious was he always like "I gotta respect the spirits" or did he double down in the elf prison tenfold? Why is he studying ancient spirit magic?? I need to know more, but it is a mystery and will probably always be a mystery.
I love Mickbell and Kuro I talk about them often but I really think it's kind of wild that they both have the "Wow, I gotta look out for this guy, he seems like he could get into a lot of trouble, good thing I know more about the world than he does" thought going on with each other. Incredible. 10/10 dynamic. Love these two.
Also you didn't mention her but I think Daya is really interesting, it seems like she has a lot going on under the surface. But also like speaking of pre-canon excuse me, what do you mean the Shadow Lord of the island is her distant cousin and also introduced her and Kabru? Huh? I? I'm flabbergasted. I think it's neat that she's also one of the only characters in a canonical romantic relationship.
Kabru undoubtedly gets the most development of anyone of his party and rightfully so, and I just love his development in the manga and how he never really strays far from his strengths either. He never does a 180 on his personality, he just adapts (because he's good at that!!)
I know these guys are the most side characters of side characters, but still. I love Kabru's party!!!

hey hey! first of all I want to say I love your writing and thank you for your hard work!! <3 I'd like to ask if you could do Claude (wmmap) x sorcerer!reader? it can be either m!r or gn!r. The reader having a more flirty/playful personality but looking distant/almost sad whenever no one was looking;;; How would he be like with a person like that and how he'd fall in love with the reader? it can be headcanons or an imagine! you decide! once again thank you and have a good day/night!!! ^__^
| | Claude falling for a flirty sorcerer who gets distant and sad when alone | |
Tumblr media
Character(s): Claude de Alger obelia
TW: Allusions to trauma and threats
Notes: Male MC || Male reader?! I never get to write for a male reader!! :DD
Tumblr media
Claude starts off finding you to be one of the most frustrating people he's ever interacted with particularly because you're flirtatious nature reminds him of Anastacius and it bothers him to no end
He's used to women being flirtatious because he's emperor and it's in theory within their best interests to try and get as close to him as possible, but men being flirtatious irks him all too much more because you would think that you'd have a more important role to fill rather than going around and ‘seducing people' as he would put it
However, he does something akin to forcing himself to put up with you because, as a sorcerer, your magical prowess, even if you don't have as much mana as him, far surpasses his as it being your life's work and it's not advisable for the emperor to be on bad terms with someone with significant magical knowledge
He does, however, make it plainly clear to you that he does not want you within 20 feet of him. Preferably more though you simply don't listen to him when he tells you to step back and decide to get further into his space until he's forced to threaten you
Unfortunately he's serious about his threats and the only thing stopping him a large amount of the time is Felix's intervention
He only gets further annoyed by your presence when you start staying in the palace for some diplomatic reason or another to keep up relations between the empire and magic tower (he doesn't see the point with Lucas already staying but he knows that he can't convince you otherwise)
When day time work melds into the night, he'll find himself going to your chambers and entering (naturally, without knocking)
When he finds you sitting by the window, too caught up in your thoughts with an expression that he recognises on himself to hear him, he just leaves
It never really leave his mind but he avoids trying to find you when he knows that you would be alone. It feels too familiar to him and he doesn't like it. He's seen many that he would consider competent men fall to their thoughts and he doesn't like the idea of you 'lying' to him and hiding other feelings
Your incessant attempts to bother him for not meeting you so often only push him further down that road. What he doesn't realise is that this need to find out why you would dare lie to him becomes a need to make you honest to him in every way possible
He wants to know why you look so melancholy, yes, but with it comes him wanting to know why you're so flirty, why you're so playful, how he can make your facade of a smirk into an actual smile. Though of course he certainly isn't going to make that process easy for you
He still needs to get back at you for any times that you had successfully flustered him. They're far and few, yes, but he's certainly going to make them out to be much bigger than they are

Gotchard is really picking up the pace lately, I'm enjoying the show so far. So what do you think about the most recent episode so far and what are your speculations for the next one?
As for my opinions so far, I still think Spanner is arguably the weakest major character in the show, but he's grown on me a fair bit to be somewhat get behind him to an extent. I find his backstory to be interesting and I think his dynamic with Kyoka is solid. Considering how Spanner is pretty much mostly distant from the rest of the cast, he's more of a loner for the most part, it kinda makes sense for there to be at least ONE person (that also seems to be distant from the rest of the Academy) he confides with that we're unaware of and of course the person is the one. Other than that, I still don't quite fully get how Spanner believes that the chemies should be used as tools. I do somewhat understand why Spanner acts the way he is, even if him being a condescending dick was uncalled for when he interacted with Houtaro. Man, Kyoka did not raise him to be way in that department...even if she does seem like the more neutral type that wants Spanner to realize his path on his own. Speaking of who, I actually have a strange feeling (this is just speculation, mind you) that Kyoka (who's seems to be there to tie in with Spanner's character and contribute to his development into a rider. So far, in terms of the writing, I think they do a fine job at it. That and I like her being a supporting mechanic) would just get killed off next episode for example, which I don't necessarily know how to feel about the idea unless it's a way to have Spanner interact and maybe start to open up with the Ichinose Kitchen Alliance more but even then. Of course, we'll just have to wait and see if what we would predict ends up getting proven wrong *virtual shrug*
Gotchard has me in its grip []~( ̄▽ ̄)~* I've actually started watching episodes unsubbed, that's how much I look forward to it every week!
As for speculations... Well poor Spanner's still in the wringer next ep, and judging from the preview it looks like Kyoka would be in danger as Houtaro and Rinne are seen defending the lab from the Angel Malgam. I do think Kyoka would get hurt, maybe even by Spanner himself still on a rampage (though if he does I think seeing her hurt because of him will snap him out of it). But Kyoka would probably finish the Driver before she has to be taken away for safety or what have you. I'm a bit iffy on her dying but we'll see.
Though, either way the lab is now compromised, so it's likely that Kyoka and Spanner will be seen more often at the restaurant if they don't outright join the Ichinose Kitchen Alliance. Kyoka could serve as a foil for Minato and be an alternative mentor for the kids.

So a post popped onto my timeline due to the Fandaniel tag, and it reminded me that a vast swath of the fandom hates Hermes. They hate him for being depressed, for living in a society that he doesn't fit into, for being unable to conform, and for causing the Final Days (I assume). So I've decided to write it. I've decided to say why I love Hermes, and why I still love him as Amon and Fandaniel. This is going to be long, and contain personal comparisons to support why I feel such a strong attachment. Obviously this is very personal, so if you don't want brief insights into a stranger's mind, just keep on scrolling. It really is a lot to take in.
First of all, and I believe this is my first time saying it on this blog, but I'm autistic. As such, I live in a society I don't fit into. I have a lot of trouble with face to face interactions. I have a lot of difficulty maintaining eye contact and reading body cues and tone, and this has only gotten worse since the start of the pandemic due to avoiding people as much as possible to avoid getting sick. I don't see Hermes as autistic, but the fact he feels differently than those around him, the fact that he has such high empathy for the creations of Elpis, definitely causes him to be isolated. Whether they actually push him away, or he just has trouble connecting because they can't understand his point of view, it's pretty clear to me that he's quite lonely.
His short story told me that it was probably more of the second thing. They don't seem to reject him, but they can't understand his feelings, so he withdraws. When he decides to make Meteion, his fellows in Elpis apparently go to great lengths to help him create her. They want to help him, they want him to be happy. There's simply a gap they cannot bridge. Unlike in real society, those around him are compassionate toward him despite his differences.
But, through no fault of their own, this compassion also hurts him. He worries that he is an aberration. Because no one around him feels as he does, he thinks of himself as a freak, as someone different and it bothers him. He withdraws further. How often has this man removed his mask to have an earnest conversation with someone? I feel like when he's talking to the WoL it may be the first time he's done so, at least in his adult life. If he had even one friend, or person he considered a friend, might he have broken so easily? Or would that one tether have been enough to give him pause? It's hard to say, since in that moment it was so so very clear that he wasn't in his right mind. He had heard Meteion tell him horrible things, and he felt he needed to subject himself to all of it.
Yet, remember his question at the end of Ktisis Hyperboreia? Even though Meteion was telling him previously that all the Meteia found was death and murder and pain, he still asks her 'was there happiness in those distant stars? Was there a reason for living?'. He still hopes for good news. He still wants to hear that things can be okay. Meteion does not give him good news though. She tells him more of the same, more suffering, more pain and death. She snaps completely, overcome by the agonies of her sisters, and Hermes falls to despair. If this is the whole of the universe, then this must be what Etheirys also deserves and if they can prove themselves better than the whole rest of the universe, only then will they be able to survive, whether they deserve to live or not.
The fact that much of the fandom seems to hate him for this decision is troubling, to say the least. They slap the 'bad guy' tag on him without any further thought. They don't consider why he makes this decision, they don't see him as a man at the end of his rope, who sees no other choice he can make. As it turns out, he could have stopped the Meteia right then and there. His staff can apparently communicate with them, so he could probably have ordered them to return like Emet-Selch told him to. But his sympathies do not lie with mankind, not in that moment. He sees the Meteia as being the ones in the right, as of course they must be as creations that sense emotions. Even though he asked a flawed question, he isn't thinking straight. He was a man with depression, and having been pushed to the brink, he makes a decision that in the moment seems like the correct one.
From the perspective of those around him who obviously aren't privy to his thoughts, of course this seems an evil act. From that perspective, of course they would hate him. But we the player have seen him struggle. So why do so many hate him for this decision when they must surely know that the circumstances that brought it about were unusual? Did they forget that not long before they were chasing Meteion because she very much did not want to give her report, knowing it would hurt Hermes? Did they forget that just before she began her report, she was expressing that she was sorry to Hermes? Did they forget that she had been fighting against the will of her sisters to give that report? She knows this man, her creator, better than anybody. She knew what this news would do to him. If anyone is the villain here, it's us for forcing her to give her report. But only Meteion must know how this is going to go, or at least she has the best guess, and we can only do as the game dictates. The ending was a foregone conclusion, and it's one we already know. But why do so many hate him when they know more about his pain than presumably anyone aside from Meteion?
But that's just Hermes. Why do the players hate Fandaniel? Because he's flamboyant? Because he's annoying? Because he's weird? Because he's an utter nihilist? Maybe it's that last one. If you don't have depression, without knowing why he feels this way in the moment it's presented, it's easy enough to go 'what the hell?' and hate him for wanting to destroy everything. But why continue to hate him afterward? With the context of Amon and the things he saw? The player knowing he suffered for five millennia (he states ten when dying as Zodiark, which I still find curious) and found nothing good. He was a man who was forced to help kill entire worlds on top of the belief he already had in Allag that it should all end simply because his Emperor willed it so.
Now, to be perfectly honest, as something of a nihilist myself, I admit I might have a leg up on understanding him here. I see the atrocities around me and think how much better it would be if humanity just stopped existing. But I also make a point of seeking proof of the opposite, just as Hermes did. Maybe Amon's problem is that, like Hermes, he was isolated. Given current evidence, it seems like Noah was his only confidant in Allag and she stated that he was dour and serious until he succeeded in bringing back Xande, and he may not have tried to gain friendships among the Ascians. With that assumption, it's hard to want to find the good in mankind. He certainly wouldn't have been encouraged to find it.
But why not hate Emet-Selch, who created the Empire that broke Amon in the first place? Who had, by his own admission, created many Empires, all of them presumably as horrible as Allag and Garlemald. Why is he so popular? Because, also by his own admission, he kept trying to find a connection to us? Because he sees what he's doing as a step toward restoring what was lost, something the player can more easily relate to? Which even the Scions admit sounds logical from a certain point of view? Do they hate Fandaniel because he has no wish for anything better, but rather an end to everything?
I like Emet-Selch, but I have no idea why others like him, only why I do. Just as I can only guess why others hate Fandaniel, Amon, and Hermes. If I was given a big red button to kill all of humanity, would I press it? The answer may surprise you. I wouldn't. I wouldn't because I have people I care about, because I own pets specifically to keep me from killing myself when my depression would otherwise overwhelm me to the point even my friends wouldn't be enough. Hermes, Amon, Fandaniel....they don't seem to have had those things. By all indications, they were very alone and while Noah seemed to have a greater insight into Amon than any of Hermes' colleagues did, even she could only tell us so much.
Hermes had Meteion, but then she brought him multitudes of misery, a whole universe of it. His only tether had told him it essentially wasn't worth it and Amon states he dreamed the memories Kairos had supposedly erased until he was given the seat and memories of Fandaniel, giving him context. But he was plagued with these dreams supposedly his whole life. He dismissed them as dreams at first, but to see such things night after night probably didn't do his mental health any good and then he finds out these aren't dreams, but memories. He knew about the true cause of the Final Days, and then he's given no reason to believe in the good of man when he's basically made to foster the opposite. Is it really any wonder he was so manic at the end? His goal was finally coming to fruition. His suffering would finally be over.
Maybe that's why so many people like Emet-Selch. He's a bastard and a mass-murderer sure, but he's been doing all of this for a cause he believes in. Twisted as it may be, it's relatable; he just wants his loved ones back. This is a story told all throughout history, of people doing whatever it took just to get their loved one (usually their lover) back. The man is a walking Greek Tragedy. Fandaniel on the other hand wants everyone, including himself, to die. Not just die, but suffer on the way. Most people won't stop to think about his reasons, even when he outright hands them to you. It really does show how experiences shape you. If you haven't experienced things in life to make you feel the way he does, it can be hard to see why he'd think this way.
When Kairos does its work and we see Hermes outside Ktisis, he's obviously still injured and no one knows why other than Hermes' 'vague memories' of what he decided he would believe had happened to Meteion. He gave himself an ending that would ensure he never looked for her, never tried to use his staff to call out to the Meteia again. He was wounded physically, but emotionally he was shattered. He calls himself a murderer in Hythlodaeus' short story, after all. he is depicted as a man who throws himself obsessively into his work to the point of self-neglect, most likely to punish himself and also to distract himself.
When the Final Days came, how did he hold it together? How did he not fall to despair to be consumed by his own aether creating a monstrosity? Did the Meteia consciously spare him? No, I don't think so. Meteion offers him oblivion before she flees. She sees this as a mercy he has denied. She loves him, she would not want him to keep suffering. In this I can't guess how he managed not to be consumed. Maybe he suspected the true cause, or at least a part of it, and as he'd said, he would be working against the Meteia. He seems to very much be a man of his word, at least. Even to his own detriment. One cannot deny one's nature.
But yes, I both understand and don't why so much of the fandom seems to hate Hermes and his reincarnation, but if you've made it this far, you definitely deserve accolades. This was a lot, but I found I could no longer leave it unsaid. It was an unpacking of myself, the character(s) and an attempt to figure out why those who dislike them do so.
Of course, there is a difference between empathy and mimicry. Most of us have a healthy separation of fiction and reality. He's just like me fr, but that doesn't mean I'd want to do what he does if I had the power to do it. He's a fictional character with fictional pain that just happens to reflect a mindset I can understand. But it seems many can't understand or relate. They just see a man with an incomprehensible viewpoint and they don't even try to understand his thinking. I think I can understand why they don't understand, but at the same time it really just proves his own point, doesn't it? No one tries to understand people who are different than them, it seems. Not if they're the majority. At least the people in Hermes' life were apparently kind in their interactions with him, misguided as he saw their attempts.

When Ashley insinuates that she wants to become an agent and be Leon's partner "saving the US from all threats", she is doing so as a way of telling him she wants to spend more time with him, right? So does Leon get that or does he seriously think she wants to be an agent like him? His response to her was just evasive.
I obsess over this exchange a lot, because it's such a weird fucking interaction that's made even weirder by the fact that it's unskippable. You can actually skip the conversation on the lift with Luis, but you can't skip this one with Ashley. I keep trying to figure out what the purpose of it is thematically, and I'm almost to the point of wondering if it's something that'll come up in Separate Ways, because right now my best guess is that it's like
a botched attempt at drawing a parallel between and shining a light on Leon's trauma?
Like. Okay, let me answer your question and then I'll explain what I mean by this.
Yes - I think Ashley's just trying to tell Leon "it doesn't matter that we're in a fucked up situation, I love being with you, I don't want to lose that when we get home, and I kind of want to see what your reaction will be to a suggestion of me being with you more often" without being a complete and total creep about it.
But when it comes to Leon's response -- I don't think it's a matter of whether he gets it or doesn't get it. I don't think it goes that far. I don't think he even tries to contemplate what she means, because I think he's immediately triggered by the question itself.
Leon didn't have a choice. He's not a federal agent because he wanted to be. It wasn't something that he aspired to or worked towards, and this isn't what he wanted for his life. If given the choice, he wouldn't even be there with her at that moment. It would've been some other agent, and he would still just be a city cop. But that wasn't how things worked out for him.
And so for Ashley to suggest that she's going to follow in his footsteps because she wants to -- it's almost like a slap in the face. It's like, "Hey, Leon? This life that you hate, that you're a prisoner in, that makes you miserable? That person that you never wanted to be? What if I did it, too, but like, just for fun?"
Leon's detached, distant "Is that right?" was probably the only thing that he could think to say to keep himself from snapping at her. And his "Well, either way..." remark is such an awkward way to respond to what she says that I kind of got the sense that he just tuned her out and stopped listening all together, because he was going to lose it if he actually engaged.
Of course, Ashley has no way of knowing any of this. She's not trying to hurt him or be a dick in that moment; she just went with a suggestion that she honestly thought was harmless. He knows this, which is why he detaches.
But like. Then the narrative never actually follows up on this or calls back to it later at any point? I thought maybe the Krauser fight might bring this up somehow, but then it didn't?? It just fucking disappears??? So it's just like
Okay, why did we have a mandatory conversation of Leon getting triggered, then? Was there a point to this?
Anyone?
Hewwo???

Hi! I read that post about Ohm/Nanon and the uneasiness you are feeling about the Pat/Pran episodes. Could you fill me in? What happened between them? I am also a huge bad buddy fan. I also have high hopes for the bb episodes of Our Skyy 2. Reading your post made me a tiny bit worried. Thanks!
First up; I'm sorry for making you worry! Nothing is official and it's best to just wait till the episodes come out and be happy or angry then. The worrying before is always such a pain..
But to answer your question:
Idk how much you know about Ohmnanon but they were really good friends even before bbs and also after bbs you could often see them hanging out (it was even a meme that they see each other literally everyday) and it was all nice and fun. When you had the bbs boxset or watched P'Aofs reaction videos you could hear/ see how many scenes they actually improvised since they just knew Patpran perfectly (for example the whole phone call scene, the breakfast in bed scene, the scene where Pat stood behind Pran to play the instrument, the kisses when they officially got together, Ohms tear during the Ep 5 kiss; the way Ohm played Pat in general - Pat wasn't supposed to be in love with Pran right from the start subconsciously, it was Ohm who said he couldn't play Pat NOT in love with Pran, which is why you can see Pat being so flirty and staring at Pran so much even before they got together [the best example is the bus stop scene for that.] The list could go on but I'm gonna stop it here). During the bts you could also see how comfortable Ohmnanon were with each other, they were always kissing or hugging or playing with one another; so it got clear how they managed to get their characters dynamic so good.
And now.. well. Our Skyy 2 is supposed to be filmed now. And Ohmnanon are, let's say, not well. In the beginning of this year Ohm had a scandal (which I won't explain further right now) and it changed a lot of stuff. The fandom changed, picked sides. Many didn't want to support Ohm any longer and also didn't want Nanon to still be associated with Ohm. I would say this was the time everything changed.. The fandom turned into the ones who stayed with Ohm and the ones who stayed with Nanon and somehow every 2 business days they argue. It's a lot about protection I think and everyone feeling like their bias doesn't get as much love as the other (very kpop like). An example would be during Hi-Touch: both Ohm and Nanon had a fan ignore them during a hi-touch. And both times the stans accused the other of being at fault, threw hate towards the one who didn't get ignored or said stuff like "if it were the other way around.." which was bs, since both happened and fans reacted the same way but yeah; that's kinda how the fandom got.
And to top it all off; Ohmnanon stopped interacting. They grew very distant towards one another. Atp they don't even look at each other. They definitely don't interact. During lives they only talk to the interviewer or ppl behind the camera, never even towards one another. They don't whisper or hug or whatever else like they did before. You never see them together anymore, if they are at the same location they won't be with one another; instead they'll be with others or alone even. I think the biggest "official" indicator that everything DEFINITELY changed and isn't just paranoia was Nanons birthday wish to Ohm in march. The last 4 years (? I'm not quite sure if its 3 or 4 yrs) Ohm always got a feed post with hbd wishes and all that. This year Nanon was the only one from all GMMTV colleagues who just reposted the official GMMTV birthday wish in his story to congratulate Ohm. Everyone else posted a private pic from Ohm, a pic with Ohm or at least a pic Ohm himself made and posted; So Nanon really stood out with the official GMMTV wish, especially since he never did that with others either. And we all know how many pics ON have together bc of the whole cp thing.. so it was weird. Aka after that, many fans got the message that ON definitely are not like before; you could already see it but that was one of the things that officially kinda sealed the deal? Since it was such a drastic change to before.
Why everything changed; nobody knows. It just gets clearer that the ON cp is definitely breaking up. Maybe they had a fight. Maybe it has to do with the scandal. Maybe it's fake. Some people say it's gmmtvs stragegy to break up cps who don't wanna do another bl together and to do that they shouldn't interact publicly. But they're all just theories. What actually happened is between ON but it's still heartbreaking to see.
And with everything changing so drastically I get a little scared about the OurSkyy 2 Episodes haha.
PLUS; It seems like they want to do a mash up with ATOTS which is quite devastating.
NOW I TALKED A LOT OOPS

How emotionally/socially guarded do you think Izuku is as a character? I've been analyzing him and for some reason, even before the wars he always came across as emotionally guarded to me. Not because he fails to express his emotions or acts mean, but because he often seems...cut off from other characters in a sense. Similar to how All Might is kind, but doesn't seem to be close to anyone in particular. Deku's always kind and protective of others, but with the exception of Todoroki and Katsuki, his relationships seem strangely distant.
To me, it made sense that someone who was socially isolated as a kid the way he was would probably find it hard to be close to others. I've noticed that Deku seems to connect to people easier if they initially disliked him. It dawned on me that since he only gained friends after getting a quirk, subconsciously it would probably be easier to trust people who initially disliked him because he knows they like who he actually is. To me, this helped explain why he's so nice to his friends like Tsuyu and Uraraka but is rarely shown bonding as much with them. Todoroki disliked him heavily at first, and Deku in turn...actually seemed much more receptive to bonding with Shouto as a person. Or at least he is shown hanging out and having more relaxed moments with Shouto. I was wondering what you thought since I care a lot about characterization as a writer and you are good at analyzing things. I've often thought he and Bakugo have far more similarities than people realize, and admittedly Deku being emotionally guarded seemed like a fun parallel to me. I haven't seen many posts that said similarly though, so I wanted to know what someone else thought. Again I could be wrong, but I wasn't sure because people don't tend to analyze Deku as heavily due to his character being more subtle than many others. I've seen people claim Deku is a vanilla character, but to me both he and all might seem like they are walling people out emotionally/socially, which makes them pretty interesting in my eyes. Sorry for the long question!
You’re fine with the long question! And I completely agree with how people don’t really like to analyze Izuku as a character (without having it have to do with either ships or another characters interactions) because of his subtly! I’m probably going to post an absolute monster sized meta just about him in the next few days (hopefully lol) that I’ve been working on for almost a month now.
Anyway, I think the reason he seems so emotionally and socially cut off from other characters is for a few reasons. One, that Izuku hates being vulnerable, two, that Izuku subconsciously isolates himself due to it being his normal, and three, it’s a purposeful writing choice from horikoshi to you.
We’ll start with Izuku’s problems with vulnerability. He absolutely fucking HATES being vulnerable, and it’s probably due to a few things. Quirklessness is a definitive case, because it almost seems like he’s been actively defiant of both his old quirkless identity, and the identity people assigned to him when he was quirkless. He was weak, needed to stay out of the way, and he wasn’t ALLOWED to fulfill his dream.
He was made to feel small in nearly every interaction he had. When Uraraka redefined what his nickname meant it created a separate identity. Suddenly, the “deku that could do nothing” was a person the “deku that does his best” could fall back into again. If he slipped up even once he was a failure. Once again, the deku that could nothing.
It’s both petty and insecurity. He wants to not be anything Katsuki or anyone else ever said he was or would be. He has to be the absolute perfect image of what all might was, and if he isn’t then he’s useless once again.
I also think that Izuku is closer to todoroki because he relates to him a lot more. You know that funny scene where todoroki asks if Izuku is all mights secret love child? Yeah, that was tongue and cheek with how Izuku views himself and all might. It’s also why Izuku is literally screaming at him in their match at the sports festival that it’s “your power not his” because it was 100% projection. Izuku wants to be his own hero and person, but is guarded by his pettiness to become exactly what he said he would be as a kid. Just to prove everyone wrong.
Izuku and Katsuki both have subtle flaws that actually show a lot more into their character. Katsuki is nosy and likes to listen into other peoples business because he wants to be prepared for any outcome. Like if they have blackmail on him, well, he has the same. It’s also SPECIFICALLY with deku like, 90% of the time too so, that says a lot more than I could ever say lmao.
Izuku is emotionally immature and petty due to trauma and defiance. It’s great!
Now, onto the other point, Izuku isolating himself. To be frank, this comes down to Izuku’s vulnerability again, but it really is just not being used to having friends. Everyone in UA is super nice, but changing environment does not change the trauma you experienced.
To be honest with you, I think he actually isolates from everyone. Todoroki, all might, and Katsuki are people he’s slightly more comfortable with (though less so with todoroki compared to Katsuki and all might) but that doesn’t change that izuku has never truly had a support system. He’s had Katsuki and their neighborhood friends when he was younger, along with his mom, but until all might showed up he never really… had anyone. That’s why I really don’t think quirkless Izuku as a hero would’ve worked unless Katsuki was this super supportive person or Izuku had friends. (Like their beta versions) At the very least he would have needed his mom to believe in him.
So, TL;DR, Izuku went through trauma that makes him feel most okay and content when he is mostly alone.
And finally, number three, horikoshi never wanted you to know! Okay, if you’re gonna make a queer story that relies on not looking like a queer story, then it needs a barrier of some kind for a couple of things. MC and the actual love interests thoughts and feelings (Katsuki and Izuku’s thoughts and feelings on each other) and possible vague feelings from the MC and the beard love interest. (Ochako and izuku)
But these all rely on a carefully built, specifically worded, and attentively written ways of tip toeing around the L word. “Closest person” instead of “best friend” or “I just talked to a girl!” And never “I just talked to Uraraka!” It’s never actually personal. Katsuki though? It’s ALWAYS personal. Childhood friend instead of friend, win to save and save to win, etc.
So, the reason why you think Izuku is so separated from his peers emotionally is because, well, he is, but he’s also separated from you, the reader. Which is a phenomenal way of breaking what makes shonen, well, shonen!
I love characterization so so much and I especially love when you can just TELL how much love was put into a character. I definitely think horikoshi at the very least knew a solid amount into psychology and trauma to be able to write him and his other characters (im so sad I didn’t get into all might but maybe I will one day lol)

Opposites Attract, Eventually
rhysand x f!oc
next part (will have a link when it's up)
a/n: i know this is short but its an intro to their situation together. (feyre doesnt exist, so this is pretty non-canon complaint obviously lol), also I decided to write this in alternating povs
please enjoy :) interact with this post if you like it
series content: arranged-ish marriage, chronic illness (i made up an illness bc fucking faeries), cursed character, angst/hurt, eventual comfort, slowburn, enemies to lovers, fae court politics (eye roll)
After the fall of Amarantha's reign, the High Lords have been pressuring Rhysand to find a High Lady.
Rhysand's POV
They won't leave me alone. The High Lords are all pressuring me to marry, for "strength" or "alliance" or whatever. I am sure they each have ulterior motives. But all I can think is that none of the prospects will be my mate. I haven't found one within my life, and I have no hope to find one now. How annoying. After Amarantha... I have no hope in love or mates. But it seems I must placate them. After all, I could quickly lose footing in this political chess game if I constantly go against their wishes.
Fine. I will find a wife. But she will be my wife only in name, in practice, only an acquaintance.
The Summer High Lord suggested a lady of the Winter Court. I wonder why he would do such a thing. Regardless, I will look into her. I don't have any other options, it seems. The High Fae women I have met thus far are quite... bothersome.
3 months later, Victoria's POV
My father informed me that I am betrothed. How dreadful. And to the High Lord of the Night Court, no less. I have heard whispers of his arrogance, and his charm. His territories are ruled by chaos. But I will not fall for it. I know what the courts say of me. They say I am evil, or I must be, with my cold, soulless eyes, and my past. I'll show this High Lord that the rumors are true. Then maybe I'll be free. I am supposed to meet him tonight. I'll be perfectly cordial, but distant. Just like I always am.
I am dressed for the occasion in a fitted blue dress made of thin silk, so I don't get warm. I often grow quite tired of this illness, where I have to find ways to stay cool at all time, even when I live in the Winter Court. The maids notify me that the High Lord is waiting in a courtyard and I am taken to the door.
Deep breaths. You can do this. I open the door, calming my nerves.

Translation:
Hello, I wanted to know if you agreed to do a story request on Crimson (ragna crimson): it would be a reader who works with Crimson and has feelings for him but he remains distant for the moment before becoming jealous because of the Ragna's rapprochement towards this one (the two of them are just friends but seeing Crimson jealous is amusing) and decides to confess his feelings to this one in his own way ^^ (I hope I was able to explain well ^^) (in any case I loved all your other stories)
Yes I'll do it! Yes you explained it well and thank you for loving my stories <3 I'm seeing a severe lack of male reader, so I'm doing that

Jealousy Of A Magician
You and Crimson haven't been working together long, about a hundred years or so. You were free spirited and often roamed without a goal, no one to guide you. It was doomed to be this way considering you are part of the Bloodline of Claws.
Joining Crimson was done completely on a whim. It gave you time to burn in this world until you found someone capable of killing you.
What you didn't expect was to develop feelings for the dragon. You never acted on them, though. You didn't think your mental or physical health would be able to take the stress of confession. Crimson was also clearly goal oriented and didn't have time for frivolous things like feelings and a relationship.
The magician, however, felt very strongly towards you. But you couldn't know that, no one could. Crimson needs to stay focused on killing the Dragon God, and he doesn't need to start putting effort into making his subjects view you differently.
That all changed when Ragna started begging to join you two. He was strong, that was obvious, and Crimson knew he would make a useful tool.
But Ragna was also perfect for you, not just as an enemy but a partner as well. With his abilities Ragna could easily kill you, but instead he chose to grow stronger with you instead.
You two got along so easily, bonding over the strength you had compared to peers, never having one place to call home, and especially the social anxiety.
Your close friendship with Ragna started to make Crimson angry, it should be him you're spending time with, not some lowly human! Alas, such emotions can't be shown, not if any progress must be made.
The pressure became too much, however, and Crimson caved into the burning feeling in his chest. He had to tell you something, anything to make you dislike Ragna.
So he did, Ragna was out on a 'mission' with Slime when he came to you, "we need to talk about a few things." Your heart raced immediately.
What could you have done to anger Crimson? "Whatever it was, I apologize! Please, please forgive me." You begged the dragon, you can't handle being thrown out of another 'home.'
"I will forgive you once you bother with that irritating human less," he didn't look angry, but it could be heard in his tone. This was what baffled you, though. Crimson was angry...for interacting with Ragna?
"May I ask why..?" You were curious, this wasn't like the magician at all.
Crimson looked irritated at your question, "I don't need you being in a relationship with a pathetic human! If anything it should be me, not him." You could've swore Crimson was about to throw a fit over this.
While you dare not laugh, you had to cover your smile at the reasoning, "Crimson, I see Ragna as more of a son than a lover. But I accept your sentiment."
"You speak not a word of this to anyone," he said, turning around and walking away in hopes you didn't see the red on his face.
