My favorite character right out the gate lets go!!

(Ok wow this got sooo long I am sorry)

Starting with my personal takes & headcanons Trent is so nonbinary to me. They give such vibes of being like “idk man I’m just existing” as well as at first thinking they just really didn’t care about gendered stuff bc society is stupid about it but then realized just how deep those feelings were. I also love just any headcanon of Trent not being cis in general. The gender queer vibes are so strong with that one. In terms of sexuality I’m really not sure? I think they’re to multiple genders but idk in what way. Bi, Pan, and Unlabeled are the ones I’m stuck between.

On a slightly more analytical note in I think in Island they are well showcased as a nice chill person but also having the capacity to stand their ground and be intimidating (that one scene with Cody).

I don’t think they’re really good with social queues and may be a bit gullible seeing how things went down with Heather. On the outside has that mysterious energy but can be a real goober when you get to know them. Insane silliness potential that was wasted in my opinion.

Crossing into the semi-headcanon but also canon implied type stuff is their neurodivergence. In TDA it’s obvious that Trent has some neurodivergent tendencies. I personally think OCD and autism. I hate the way it was handled, not because they gave Trent these traits in the first place but how they framed them as a crazy person. That treatment was definitely very damaging to Trent and most likely made them go to heavily masking, even more so than before. Being pitied so much also felt incredibly frustrating to them.

The way that Trent was launched into fame right after a messy breakup on international television definitely made things worse. They seemed like they were thriving while the band was together but in reality they were only being seen for their music and not who they really are, pointedly ignoring their neurodivergence, flaws or any wrongdoing on their part. It hurt seeing how they were treated so horribly when it came to their mental health but as soon as they started singing they were suddenly this sweet, emotional, amazing guy.

And in terms of my headcanon they were also dealing with a ton of dysphoria being seen a guy in the Drama Brothers because they were closeted. I personally think that they had only found out a couple of months before Island so they weren’t comfortable telling anybody yet. They felt like they could tell someone close like Gwen eventually but didn’t want to come out on tv so they said nothing. I think in the days between the finale and TDA Trent became afraid again not wanting to ruin things with Gwen in fear of her being upset that they wouldn’t be the cool talented boyfriend that she expected. On the Aftermath they didn’t really have anyone truly there for them only having those who pitied them or who thought they were an awful person, leaving them isolated not just about dysphoria but just their existence in general.

I do believe that between TDA and WT as well as onwards that Trent was able to build a genuine friendship with Justin, Harold, and Cody despite how messy things got with the band at times. Unintentionally they started unmasking a bit around them closer to when WT started and when they weren’t met with judgement (maybe a bit that was just genuine misunderstanding that got corrected but still) Trent was starting to more and more feel like they could be themself. (Back to more headcanony for a sec) After WT Trent came out to the three of them and was met with acceptance! From there Trent is able to progressively come out more and more from their shell and from the closet to more people!

Also hopefully patching things up and becoming friends with Gwen eventually but that’s just like a wish I have

I think I just unintentionally typed out a whole outline of what I think their life is instead of just my opinion on them in general but yeah.

Some random headcanons!!:

- (Stolen from Courtney-deserved-better) A lot of people think that Trent looks so cool and mysterious but in actuality they are usually just zoned out

- Biggest sensory issues are with sound. They’d go insane without headphones/earbuds bc the music is nice and their noise as opposed to how horribly loud life can be (Kinda projecting on this one but it makes sense for them so shhh)

- Listens to most genres but especially the ones within the general indie/alternative umbrella. A good amount of ppl think that they only listen to mainstream pop type stuff so when they’re with Trent and some darker/depressing type shit like CSH comes on from one of Trent’s playlists they are so surprised.

- Likes some of what the Drama Brothers made but a lot of their brand was pushed into them by producers and the whole band kinda hated how fake things felt at times. After WT they manage to get away from that company and the band gets a lot more creative freedom making what they want. (Also changing the band name eventually bc of Trent if we’re talking in a world with my nb headcanon. Not sure when or if Trent would publicly come out but if not before the name change then they all just make something up about rebranding)

About ships! - I personally love tons of td ships being a massive multi shipper, especially with characters that are my faves (With an exception of Raj I don’t rlly see him with anyone but Bowie). Gwent was the first ship I ever got into with Total Drama and it has a special place in my heart. It’s not my absolute favorite but I still love seeing them together and au’s where they actually work things out healthily during Action or where Action and or TD didn’t happen. I love a lot of other ones too like Trustin and Trody and a lot more! I think my favorite Trent ship may actually be Trenoah, it’s really my favorite rare pair. Ik they didn’t really interact but the POTENTIAL!! They would play off of each other so well and ahhh dude I think I’d need to make a separate post just taking about those two

And that’s the basics of my thoughts on Trent! (well maybe not the basics but trust me it’s not all that I have to say about them).

I think in the future I’ll make a post about what I think their potential backstory is bc I got carried away and didn’t rlly cover that here. @ashyjingles if you want me to @ you in that just let me know!

(Plastering an obligatory I AM A LESBIAN here.) (also, in retrospect this feels like soapboxing and if you feel uncomfortable in any way with me ranting about petty drama related to the harassment that you went through feel free to delete this ask)

Calling you lesbiphobic for not liking Minthara made me do a huge double take??

YES lesbiphobia is a problem, and people assigning lesbiphobia to not liking a character on the grounds that a lot of their friends who like her are lesbians only takes away from the actual severity of the word.

You can’t just wave words around. Is Minthara, as a character, a symbolization or statement about lesbianism in a way that critique or dislike of her character would imply some kind of inextricable problem with it?

Or has the way she’s seen or adopted in the fandom lead to her being inseparable from such subtext? And I don’t mean being liked by many lesbians simply because we think she’s neat or a cool character-

Is she known to be liked because we feel she represents something significant about lesbianism? Does the fact that many lesbians like her mean or present something notable about the lesbian experience, to the point where it’s a dialogue that can’t in good faith be ignored in discussions about her?

No. She’s openly sapphic, but she’s one of the many bisexual women companions, and while her queerness is an important facet of her character, the writing doesn’t linger on it- That is to say, it’s not a central theme to her character and story. She’s not seen as some grand statement or character symbolizing something about lesbianism in the fandom, either. A lot of us simply.. like her. (And that’s completely fine!!)

On top of that, she’s explicitly (EXPLICITLY) a EVIL character to boot. She’s a horrible person- she was THE evil route companion. (And, again, her evilness has nothing to do with her being a sapphic woman.) And that’s great! I like her because she’s an apologetically horrible woman who’s allowed to be unapologetically horrible And a woman without being punished specifically for that.

But somebody disliking her- as a character- as a fictional, made of pixels, not real character- BECAUSE of the numerous horrible evil things she does- isn’t lesbiphobia. And even if it was, that wouldn’t be grounds the harass them for it.

Thank you anon- and don't worry. I'm going to start taking things as discourse so those who don't want to see anymore don't have to because I feel like I've put enough sadness on their pages, but I definitely wanted to respond to this.

Yeah, it really is wild that not liking HER of all characters got me called that. But I guess, like... thanks for being so transparent, I guess??? Like it literally was never about any issue they pretended it was, it was literally that I didn't like their Drow Dommy Mommy.

Your point is totally correct, but I do have the feeling that if you asked them, they WOULD say that Minthara represents something "inherently lesbian" (I guess the lesbian quality of... being a terrible person who supports slavery? It's lesbiphobic to not support slavery I guess) such that rejecting her is rejecting lesbianism itself. And it's worth noting that this group of people are INCREDIBLY biphobic- they hate when you say Minthara is bi, as well as Shadowheart, and they say shipping SH with men is "icky." Which tells you all you need to know really.

They deny she's evil. Straight up. They literally ask what she did that was evil, feigning ignorance, or say it was sweet and romantic etc. The way they accuse others of not being able to tell fantasy from reality is because they themselves can't do it.

Do u have any trans masc Max Mayfield headcanons?

I haven’t thought much about it but now I have so MANY thoughts!

-Max hasn’t had a lot of positive relationships with the men in his life, so it takes a long while for the “hm I don’t feel quite right” to click. He doesn’t feel super comfortable as a girl, but he looks at his step-dad and Billy and is like “well I don’t want to be anything like that, so this has to be okay.”

-He definitely knows more about gender/sexuality stuff than the others because of growing up in California. So he’s thought a lot about it over the years, but just kept coming to the conclusion that he’s a tomboy (again, no positive relationships with men.)

-It’s actually because of Lucas (and the rest of the Party, by extension) that he really starts to get more comfortable with the idea. Because Lucas is sweet, and he’s gentle, and so unlike any of the other men he’s been around. Lucas is the first person that kind of cracks his view on gender roles and what exactly defines a man.

-He butts heads with Mike a lot at first just because of how insistent Mike is about him being a girl, how he’s different and unwelcome because of it, but (if this is also transmasc Mike) they realize they’re actually really similar and grow closer because of it, or (if this isn’t transmasc Mike) Max realizes that it isn’t the “girl” thing that bothers him, it’s the fear of replacing El.

-If it’s both transmasc Max and transmasc Mike, Mike comes out WAY earlier than he would’ve on his own.

-The boys are all really supportive when he comes out (which would probably be around the season 3 era). They don’t really get it at first, but he’s their friend, and they’ve always been very vocal about how they’d kill for a friend if needed. And really, seeing Max as a boy isn’t all that different from what they were doing already, so it’s an easy adjustment.

-In a similar fashion to Max teaching El about being a girl in the show, the guys take him out on a “boys only” night. It isn’t really any different than their usual hangouts- they go to the movies, play video games, eat way too much junk food, but the boys only title makes Max feel all fuzzy and warm inside.

-He comes out to Billy while he’s dying. He didn’t ever really plan on doing it at all, but his step-brother is dying in his arms and he needs to get it off his chest before it’s too late. Billy is a lot of the reason it took so long for him to feel comfortable as himself, and he thinks Billy knows that once it’s out in the air. Unfortunately, Billy’s dead before he can really give much of a reaction, just a weak little “I’m sorry.” And that’s nowhere near enough to make up for everything.

-He comes out to his family that night in a screaming match with his step-dad. Neil is an asshole about it, but it doesn’t really matter because the whole argument starts because he’s gonna leave them. Susan is incredibly supportive, and she turns around and kicks Neil out even though she’d been begging him to stay moments before. Gives Max one of those big, therapeutic hugs where Max just sobs into her shirt.

-Max cuts his hair off after Billy’s death. He’s never had a problem with his hair, he actually likes it long, but he’s messed up over everything that happened. He leans a lot more into the stereotypes he hated as a kid, acts rougher and more stand-offish. He breaks up with Lucas, stops hanging out with the rest of his friends. He feels awful, because this is the first time in his life that he’s only surrounded by people that support and love him, but he feels like he doesn’t deserve it.

-(Vecna has a field day with all that)

-Post canon, he does grow his hair back out again. Lucas dramatically informs him that men with long hair are hot (bi king), to which Max shoots back that that would mean Mike was hot. Lucas gives Mike a quick once over and is like I mean, yeah.

-Lucas likes to greet people and go hi, yes, this is my boyfriend Max. He’s so cool. He pretty much single-handedly saved Hawkins that one time. And Max stands there with his face bright red in his hands like oh my god shut up

-Lumax and Byler double dates with an obnoxious amount of homo, striking fear into the hearts of conservative smalltown Indiana

My Ripp Grunt headcanons

It was about time I put them all in one place because as you can tell I’m obsessed with him and have a lot😭 Some of them might make no sense whatsoever or sound weird or are probably me just projecting but who cares lol. If I forget any or think of more I’ll add them later. Also it’s going to be really long…

Anyway… “So Kai, how much do you like Ripp???”

Me:

Birthday

I have come up with a birthday for Ripp. December 13, 1988. (Yes I know December 13 is the same date as Taylor Swift lol.) He is a Sagittarius (that’s canon but that’s why I picked that birthday). I see sims 2 Strangetown as starting in 2005 and he was age 16-17 back then. He’s a year and several months younger than Tank and 4 years older than Buck.

Height

Kind of short for a guy, about 5.5. Tank and Johnny are significantly taller and he hates it.

Identity

He is bisexual and transmasculine. Maybe non binary too, specifically a non binary man (like a demiboy or something.)

Ripp has always been attracted to all genders. He doesn’t really care about that (can fit pansexual too.) He is open to seeing multiple people at once so is polyamorous too. Which can be one way of explaining the romance aspiration. And yes, he has a crush on both Ophelia and Johnny.

He is transgender and knew something was up from an early age. Like a lot of transmasc people he went down the “tomboy” to trans pipeline. He didn’t fully realise what being trans meant and that that was what he was until he was about 14 though. Ripp chose his name himself, idc. He thought it was cool.

Johnny and Ophelia were very supportive of him being trans. He had them at school when the bullies found something new to pick on. As was his mum Lyla who he is very close to. Buck didn’t fully understand at first because of being really young but is still very supportive. (Also Buck ended up becoming Rebecca and is transfem herself but that’s another character headcanon lol) Lyla helped him start HRT.

General Buzz though… I don’t see General Buzz as entirely transphobic. I think he’s the kind of person to prefer having sons, but is still weird about Ripp being trans. He is kind of against it at first but gets used to it. He would also want Ripp to be a man in the “right” way (based on a Tumblr post I saw.) He messes up pronouns sometimes but at least tries. He still thinks Ripp is a fucking lazy ass disappointment overall though 😭 “yeah you are trans or bi, whatever, but you are still my worst son ever.” I think he would be more concerned if any guy Ripp dated was an alien over the fact they were a guy (oops, he already has a crush on Johnny Smith.) General Buzz’s conflicting views about Ripp with Lyla also contributed to those two’s strained relationship. He sees a lot of Lyla in Ripp, in both appearance and personality and he hates being reminded of her.

Tank was in a similar position of getting used to it over time. Didn’t mean he stopped wanting to beat his ass all the time though. He had some internalised stuff he had to deal with himself though (being his own person with his own wishes and also, gay.)

Ripp took Lyla disappearing very hard, especially since she was the one helping with his transition. He was on his own. Things got complicated because General Buzz was still kind of unsupportive. Ripp snuck out for several days to get top surgery by himself and General Buzz was very angry about that.

Personality

He’s a very sweet person overall. He’s friendly with almost everyone and hates conflict, but if he is confronted he loves taking the piss out of them. He’s very positive most of the time despite his terrible life. Very talkative and can go on and on. Tries to make a joke and lighten the mood with just about everything, including himself, even if he does go too far sometimes (which he instantly feels bad about if he makes someone sad.) Definitely swears a lot which his father hates, but he loves annoying his father.

Relationships

I don’t think he has a bad relationship with his father and Tank forever. They make up at one point and maybe they don’t become really close but they at least get along somewhat again (no horrible PSP ending in my sims game.)

He was very close with Lyla, probably the most out of all three of Lyla’s sons so he was devastated when she left, and even more so when he found out she died. One of the few supportive people in his life and she was gone.

Him and Buck (or Rebecca later) are very close due to them both having a strained relationship with General Buzz. Rebecca looks up to Ripp a lot. Also they end up both being transgender which they make a joke out of later. “I can’t believe we’re both Grunts and trans.)

He’s been friends with Ophelia and Johnny since middle school. He hangs out with them a lot and prefers being with them to being at home. He loves being an idiot with Johnny but is sweet with Ophelia. He fell in love with Ophelia first then Johnny.

He met Lilith after she also ran away from home. The two became close because of that. They love poking fun at each other. He’s afraid Lilith will make fun of him if he tells her he likes her (but Lilith likes him too.)

Self insert time, he’s really sweet around Lana. Ripp talks a lot and Lana barely talks at all due to their extreme shyness but he doesn’t mind. He cares for them a lot. He is the most calm and gentle to them and loves listening to them ramble about their interests. He might want to marry her.

Music Career

Ripp was always interested in music, mostly rock music but he is open to other genres as well. I see him as being very into Nirvana. He started playing guitar at school with Johnny Smith, covering their favourite songs. Lyla got him own guitar, and he also started writing his own songs, uploading them to MySpace or something.

At one point he runs away from home and gets a trailer for himself. Away from his father, he has a lot more freedom to do what he wants with his life. He’s still working at the gas station and going to a lot of music labels and he eventually gets signed to one. He has his first major song released through them.

Ripp is the lead singer and guitarist in a band as well as a soloist, with Johnny Smith, Lilith Pleasant and Mercutio Monty, the last two he meets and befriends at one point. (Idk what to name this band yet lol.) Johnny also plays guitar, Lilith is the bassist and Mercutio plays the drums.

His music style is very diverse. And I’m also going to base them off Lana Del Rey albums and songs because why not. His very early work is very acoustic. The first ep and debut album he releases has influences of grunge, surf rock and psychedelic rock. A lot of guitar sounds. And whatever sounds come out of AKA Lizzy Grant.

He goes through some tough things in life which is why he takes a break between his debut and his second album. The sound of this album is quite different. Still guitar heavy but also very slowed, dark and psychedelic. Probably some of his most depressing songs ever. Definitely has a song calling out General Buzz. His Ultraviolence era. It’s a little bit of a concept album too, there’s some sort of storyline throughout. He wears black eyeliner on stage.

The next album is experimental, a little bit of the style of his first album back with the guitar but also some trap beats in there. If I could describe it in a Lana Del Rey song it would be Freak Like Me Demo. Also the most horny album. Bisexual anthem in there though.

The latest album I’ve imagined for Ripp (idk why I’ve imagined all these albums for a sims 2 premade, please help) he explores pop. Lust for Life era (I’m still drawing that, I have a vision.) It’s a lot more uplifting than his previous work and it changes the world. Also somewhat of a horny album too. He dies the ends of his hair purple.

Ripp moves to Del Sol Valley at one point when he becomes a celebrity and gets a house in the pinnacles.

He is definitely very popular in terms of being attractive. There are people making thirst TikToks of him and writing self insert fanfiction and everything. (Couldn’t be me. /s) Some fans are really obsessed with him. To the point they would leak his unreleased music and post it everywhere which is unfortunate but some of them are so good (I’m writing a fic based on this.)

He also does campaigns and advertisements and things as part of being a celebrity, there’s a billboard or magazine cover somewhere where he’s modelling underwear 🙏 And he also hopes it annoys his dad if he sees it and recognises his face lol

His social medias would be hilarious and he would also own terrible people.

Other random hcs

I think Ripp was an unplanned child. Lyla was happy to have him but General Buzz not so much, he kind of hated Ripp from day 1.

He was a “problem child” at least in General Buzz’s eyes and also the schools he went to where he had behaviour issues and struggled to focus. His dad made him see a psychologist. He’s autistic (or aspergers back in the late 90s-early 2000s, also I don’t think General Buzz is the most up to date) and has ADHD. I don’t think this helped with General Buzz already seeing him as a disappointment. Ripp gets really fixated on music (both certain artists and creating it) or certain tv shows or very unconventional things that are kind of uncomfortable for some people. Like literally just the subject of woohoo interests him and he wants to know everything about it lol. I think he fixates on philosophical stuff too like death and the purpose of life (another thing that can lead to some uncomfortable conversations.) Very unlike the stereotype of autism because he’s really outgoing and social too, but it is a spectrum.

I think he shows a lot of affection through touch.

Really dark hc but… 😭 Although he pretends it doesn’t, I think the terrible relationship he has with General Buzz and Tank, as well as Lyla disappearing and dying did really affect him. Has depression and some self esteem and emotional issues and fears abandonment. He has considered *unaliving* before. Also a weird relationship with food. Although he has max interest in food, and he eats a lot of food (but mostly junk food) he grew up with the pressure to remain thin. The dark period of his life between his first two albums involved that and he may have abused substances too. I’m a terrible person, I’m sorry 😭. The romance sim part of him might have spawned from craving the love he didn’t get at home. He feels undeserving of a real relationship but deep down that’s what he actually wants.

I am sorry to him for giving him all these traumatising hcs but I can’t help myself. He was bullied in his school years 🥲 The psp secret of him being afraid of toilets from “one too many swirlies as a child” is to do with this. Tank was involved too maybe, but I don’t believe it was all down to him and he’s a terrible person. With the trans headcanon, I think he was picked on by both boys and girls. Girls didn’t like him for being “weird” and boys would go out of their way to hurt him for trying to fit in with them.

Due to General Buzz being in the millitary, he travelled to a lot of places and moved around a lot prior to going back to middle school in Strangetown. I think he would become interested in different cultures and pick up some words of different languages. He lived in Tomerang at one point.

Ripp is kind of feminine. He isn’t afraid to like “feminine” things and he loves jewellery and painting his nails.

He has a brow piercing and a septum.

He gets a sleeve tattoo.

Has rarely ever cut his hair in his life, he lets it grow really long and he doesn’t care. He would hate for all of his hair to just be chopped off (and that’s also what his father wants)

Smokes, both cigarettes and weed. Tries to stop smoking the cigarettes later on though. Him, Johnny and Ophelia get stoned together and sometimes Lana if she’s willing.

He’s quite arty (his canonical one true hobby is set to arts and crafts.) Spends a lot of his time drawing anything from animals to horny “anatomy” pictures because why not. He takes art when he attends college.

Ripp is a great father. Idc about that romance aspiration, just because he has that doesn’t mean he’s a deadbeat father 😭 Like I’ve said before, that sounds like Don Lothario but not Ripp. His nice points are too high for that. Also being like his own dad would be the last thing he wants to be. He really cares for any kids he has, and the people pregnant with the kids. He would be a really fun dad, maybe a little permissive. Basically the opposite of General Buzz (and also how I think Lyla was.) He also cares for people in general instead of just wanting woohoo out of them.

Ripp is left handed. Sims 4 actually set him up as left handed for me lol. Left handed guitars are unavailable to him to start with so he’s forced to learn right handed 😰 But later on he gets a left handed guitar and plays amazing.

He has a tooth gap.

Cat person. General Buzz, Tank and Rebecca are all drawn to dogs but Ripp is the only cat lover 😭 He gets a havana or a maine coon (or both.)

I think Ripp fits the pleasure aspiration more than the romance aspiration to be honest. An aspiration that involves some romance but also not being a total sleaze and wanting to relax and have fun sounds more like him. It fits Lyla too (another reason why they were so close is that they had very similar personalities.) Another aspiration that fits is popularity, he’s just a very friendly person who loves making friends.

Marie….NooOOOOOOOO. (I literally screamed seeing her knees) tho it make me wonder, marries can fully speak with her head off. Can clone just, not die? Is this just silly cartoon logic, or can clone can lose body parts and keep going? If that’s the case then thats a major reason why Joan’s mom want to clones to be leaders, they could be physically be un-killable.

fujiko: where lupin puts a label on it, fujiko simply makes a coy little face and shrugs her shoulders. changes the answer a little each time she really thinks about it. bi, pan, unlabeled, questioning? she’s scratched off the last one at least. she’s pretty damn sure she’ll bang any sane consenting adult with enough money. but that does bring us to another thing that i haven’t brought up with anyone yet: i’m a firm believer in demiromantic fujiko. that’s what that’d be called right? the romantic version of demisexual? fujiko just cannot form a romantic attachment to anyone unless there are years, like YEARS of consistent, honest trust and understanding in there. it’s not even an option in her mind until she’s known someone 3 years minimum, and even then that’s only when it BECOMES a SUGGESTION. sexual attraction is easy, romantic attraction is a sidequest altogether. it’s not just a mental mindset thing it’s like. her chemical makeup dude. but veering back on course, she’s got the same solidity in gender that jigen has, just in the Pink direction, so the same general reading of “is she a trans woman or does she just Get it” hits for me

goemon: goemon really hasn’t thought about his sexuality too much. he sees it as more of a person by person basis rather than a potentially gender specific attraction? if he finds a woman attractive, he finds a woman attractive, if he finds a man attractive, he finds a man attractive, if he finds a person who is attractiDo you get the general gist here? at best i could say he has a slight skew towards women, but it doesn’t like ERASE the rest of the options here. goemon views gender similarly, almost like an outsider looking in. it’s not some deep psychological perspective where he’s like, intentionally distancing himself to best study it, it’s just that he doesn’t feel a huge need to label himself in that sense. a foot in the nonbinary door. any pronouns, any terms of address, it’s no biggie to goemon! i do think he’d be somewhat interested to hear others’ perspectives on it, but he knows who he is. the one with the kickass sword lmao

As a fellow Aquarius, I can definitely understand the limits of your social battery, and I think Azriel would as well. He himself, with all the love he has for friends and family, gets tired and needs time to himself.

Mor on the other hand, would help you plan the party of a century. I think that bubbly, chaotic energy may even rub off on you and make you want to socialise longer, but I don’t think she’d blame you if you snuck away for some peace and quiet.

I can see both Mor and Azriel stepping up beside you to protect your friends. After all, they’ve both come from traumatic familial backgrounds, and loyalty to those they love is extremely important to them.

As far as timeliness goes, I feel like both Mor and Azriel are not morning birds, for two very different reasons. Mor loves to party, so late nights and even later mornings. Azriel because Rhys’ tasks for him are never ending. So there’s definitely a balance there.

I think it’s inspiring that you’ve adopted the role of step-mom, and I think both Mor and Azriel would agree. Mor, like you, has a fear of childbirth stemming from her own childhood in the Court of Nightmares, so I feel she would acclimate to that role with your guidance. As for Azriel, I just think he loves kids, whether they are his or not.

Sorry, I am not calling names, you can go to any "bi lesbian positivity" blog and find plenty.

That being said, the post that I tried to use as a block list was about how "lgbts are trying to persuade lesbians into fucking men" is a transmisogynistic dogwhistle.

Honestly, that's not very PC of me, but it feels like there is an actual war over this line. Some of the popular lesbian bloggers are all about "trans women are cool" and then go on talking about how transitioning is misogynistic, how badly they want to fuck trans men, organize hate campaigns on trans women and only on trans women (I saw one post accusing a trans girl of fetishizing black people, went to her blog, and turns out that she leaves sexual remarks on every fucking post. Not saying that it's cool, but it's definitely a different thing, and of course notes were full with transmisogyny) and so on.

And the entire circle of transmisogyny bloggers seems to embrace the idea that excluding men from lesbianism is a TERF thing. Like, they say that "of course it's lesbophobic to imply that lesbians are TERFs" and then proceed to talk only about cis lesbians being transphobic or "transphobic". I am already blocked by some popular ones probably for disagreeing with one "bi lesbian".

Yeah it do be like that. "Bi lesbians" are not yet a thing where I live, but a) they will be soon, b) it's still full of bullshit. I don't ever want to go into irl spaces

You know what’s ironic? That 99% of “bi lesbians” also believe in transandrophobia and usually don’t care at all about transfems. They’re obviously only using transmisogyny to attack lesbians somehow.

Seriously people need to start being more clever. A lot of people see terms that involve any prejudice and they instantly believe the person who’s talking about that. “Lesbians not being attracted to men is transphobic” and they genuinely believe that without questions. This is not only frustrating, but also sad. It’s ironic because the mindset of “I’ll fully believe something without any explanation or proof” is such a conservative thing to do…

You ask them to explain why they think what they think and suddenly they have no arguments, at least no logical ones.

I think those lesbian blogs you’re talking about are mostly not owned by lesbians. If they’re attracted to men they either aren’t lesbians or they don’t see trans men as men.

If you try asking any of those people about why they think it’s terf rhetoric to exclude men from lesbianism prepare yourself for either the most stupid shit you will ever see or for absolute silence lol

Most of the time whenever I comer across either terf blogs, “bi lesbian” blogs or any of those kind of people I usually just block them because it’s worthless wasting your time with someone who clearly doesn’t want to actually listen, they just want attention and by wasting your time with them you’re giving them exactly what they want.

That’s why I usually only block them and move on by still posting the things I like to talk about and fight against prejudice in other ways besides joining discourses.

One of my biggest complaints about lesbianism on this site is that I haven’t seen a remote whisper of similar discourse surrounding gay men.

Heads up, a lot of this is ranting/venting so im probably gonna repeat stuff or not make a ton of sense in some places:

Like, a man was married with kids before realizing he’s gay. Okay, cool. You’re still gay dude. A man dates a boygirl person. Still gay who cares. He thinks a female celebrity is stunning. Duh! Look at her! But the second a lesbian is inserted into those exact scenarios, its a race to micro label and argue over what she can call herself.

Previously married with kids, dating a boygirl, thinks a male celebrity is hot, all of these are used against the lesbian identity and can be boiled down to elementary “eww you have BOY cooties” which leads into terf territory. Its a rehash of gold star lesbianism and ultimately shames lesbians who were unsure of their identity or found themselves in comphet relationships for safety/lack of support. Hell, its shaming lesbians for even thinking a random person is objectively hot bc they ID as a man.

Moving on, a similar thing happens when someone who previously ID’d as gay/lesbian realizes they’re attracted to multiple genders. Even if its just romantic for one and sexual for the other, the gay person is ultimately seen as bisexual. No further questions. The lesbian? Once again, its a race to label and argue.

This is where “bi” lesbian loses me. I don’t see anyone calling gay men bi gays for being in those previous scenarios I listed. A bi guy who only dates women and sleeps with men is bi. End of story. Not a peep about being a bi gay. I have, however, seen multiple definitions of bi lesbianism that include those exact examples. A lesbian got exposed to BOY COOTIES so now they can’t call themself a lesbian.

Or, rather, a woman only likes men romantically but since she isn’t dropping her panties for him, she’s still a lesbian. Is she only bisexual if she has sex with men? What if she only dates girls and sleeps with guys? Does that make her a bi straight? Once again, the second a woman enters the equation, everything goes out the door and we have to argue about Person Who Doesn’t Have Sex With ____. Why is being bisexual regardless of how it presents a bad thing? I haven’t seen anyone give a solid reason other than “i dont wanna be bi” or parroting some kind of terf rhetoric.

Adding to that, in a lot of the discourse, it honestly feels like bigender/multigender people are being used as a gotcha. Like I said before, a gay guy dating a boygirl is just a gay guy dating a boygirl. A lesbian dating the same person? “They identify as a boy!!! You clearly like men!!” which, ultimately, ignores the full scope of that person’s identity. They aren’t just a boy in the same way they aren’t just a girl. I guarantee no one would jump down a gay guy’s throat and say “ummm ACTUALLY she says she’s a girl so she makes you not gay”.

The same gotcha issue comes about with trans people. It’s as if saying “I’m not attracted to men” equals not calling a trans woman a woman. I only ever see terf accusations float around when a lesbian makes that statement. Never when a gay guy says he isn’t attracted to women. If your first thought when hearing that is “well they MUST be talking about trans people” then you have a problem, and anyone who actually refuses to date someone bc they’re trans is the actual exclusionist.

Gay and lesbian have a region of gender identity that falls out of bounds. A lot of people do. Yet the level of discourse over everything I mentioned is drastically different between them. God forbid a lesbian say “oh I dated a gay once but realized I wasn’t attracted to men”. They’ll get called a terf, an exclusionist, and every name under the sun. If a gay guy said the same about a woman? Two notes and its gone.

Idk i just think lily is such and interesting characterrr,, like. her original goals and motives r good, she simply wants to stop cookies from dying so easily, similar to pv. and all her actions *as* lily do stem from a want to do good, she just ends up focusing so hard on her one goal that she doesn’t realize she’s taking it way too far until it’s too late,, ignoring her friends warnings (most notably pv) and not realizing she’s gone too far until the last second. like do I think lily is a good person? debatable, but she’s also not *evil* like I see a lot of people portray her as. she should be held accountable for her actions, but also I feel like it makes sense from her perspective why she’d continue her research despite mishap after mishap. the damage caused doesn’t matter *that* much if the end result is longer and happier lives for everyone, right? and her research was for a very good purpose! she wanted to stop cookies from crumbling so easily, and to find a way to find out how to create cookies who didn’t crumble, who didn’t have to suffer through the lives of being as fragile as well, a cookie. and so, the way I like to see lily is not as an evil character, but more tragic. she could’ve indeed done things differently, listened to her friends warnings, maybe go down a path similar to pv. but also, it’s true that she genuinely *did* want to help, and it’s by focusing in so much on her desire to help and create the ‘perfect’ cookie does it lead to her being partially oblivious to how far things have gotten. also, my opinions on the whole de thing: while it isn’t confirmed exactly *what* fully happened during the night of the witches, as it is hinted at that there’s more to the story than we know at this point, I like to see de and lily as at least partially separate. I don’t think lily would’ve liked what de is doing in the story currently if she was to somehow see what she was doing. I think lily wouldn’t be too far gone to think that de’s actions are in the right or are okay. actually, I heard someone else say something along the lines of de being an exaggerated from of all of lily’s worst traits, and I kind of like that idea. Lily’s mindset of ‘a mishap here or there doesn’t matter if the end result will be so good and beneficial for everyone that it makes up for it’ turns into ‘it doesn’t matter how many people get hurt or how much gets destroyed, as long as I can reach my goals and create the world I desire it doesn’t matter’ in that sense, while there’s still a bit of lily *in* de, they aren’t the exact same. but even if de is a *lot* worse than lily, and even if I separate the two, I do also believe that lily is DEFINITELY not perfect and that her want to do good still doesn’t fully defend her actions, though they do make them a lot more understandable and easier to sympathize with. It’s a curiosity killed the cat type situation: lily let her curiosity and goals blind her. and also also: I do think purelily probablyyyy devolves into a toxic mess as the night of the witches ultimate dough thing nears closer and closer. I just also think that lily deserves to be un-de-ified learn her lesson and b allowed 2 make out with pv sloppy in the end. that or. I think pv killing de in the end and learning 2 let go would b fun (user skybristle’s idea but I’m stealing it) but also my purelily shipper heart wants pv n lily 2 have a happy endinggg so. shrugs.

you make really good points with white lily!!! i explain my ideas better in this post but to summarize, i think White Lily needs to have a little bit of evil put in her, and Dark Enchantress needs a little bit of good put in her in return. i don’t really like the idea of DE being this completely different person, and that white lily is this innocent being that’s trapped inside her. i definitely believe she’s been pushed over the edge, and since she was rebaked she could fully embrace her goals; knowledge and doing things for the greater good (whatever her opinion of that is). DE is not completely evil, and WL is not completely good. it’s all morally gray! DE is an extension of herself that has no boundaries or chains. she takes it too far, and i actually believe she KNOWS it, it’s just no use mellowing out unless she’s forced.

for my opinions on PureLily, i wouldn’t say it’s 100% one sided, but PV definitely loved her with all his heart. White Lily might’ve loved him too but in a different way. she appreciates how he gives her attention, she loves how he understands her. she loves how he loves her, but i don’t think she fully returned that love. and even if she did, she did become someone else, someone that wont just…go away with encouraging words or a kiss. i like to think PV would have to go through an arc where he learns to love again, and as much as it hurts him, he would have to put White Lily in the past. as for Dark Enchantress, she would have to realize that PV’s love in the past was real, and she was cared for by her friends. she turned it all away and it was her fault, but she has the opportunity to realize she can still love; even if it isn’t a romantic relationship with PV. there’s still love in her heart for the world. she can still be curious and craving knowledge, but she doesn’t have to hurt others or herself to achieve it. they both will have to heal. would i say it’s toxic? not really, i think WL and PV were young and desperate to do something good for the world, they had a lot of pressure on them. they were young

hey so I saw your post about helping a friend with their identity and I was wondering if you could help me with mine

So I present as pansexual but sometimes my brain says that I’m just straight because the only people that I’ve found that are also supportive are only girls (my sex is male) and I’m starting to wonder if it’s true. I can’t remember if it’s something like imposter syndrome or what it is, but I just wanted to ask about it.

I mean I want to be in a queer relationship but then my brain is like “you’re just saying you’re gay to look cool” or “you say you’re gay but you’re just an ally”

And I feel the same way about my gender identity, I present as non-binary and want to get non-binary gender affirming surgery and other procedures, but my brain’s like “you just want the surgery to have more sex” and I don’t know what to believe.

Thanks if you can help and sorry for “trauma (if that’s the right word)” dumping.

so first off, you are valid as hell. you dont need to fully know who you are yet, it takes forever to figure this stuff out. like i only recently came to terms with my gender and am still figuring out my attraction. no matter where you are in your journey you are valid as hell.

with that out of the way, i can't tell you how you're meant to be attracted towards peoples. you could be omnisexual, you could be romantically/sexually attracted to girls only but different attraction types such as alterous for other genders, you could be abrosexual (like genderfluid but for sexuality), or something else entirely.

however i have two bits of advice for you, both in the form of quotes.

"but what if that little queer crush is completely insignificant in my life now and I've basically forgotten it???" i hear you say. well now i have a quote from a book called Imogen, Obviously, where main character Imogen is having a bisexual crisis over a girl, and is talking to her sister Edith about it.

one of them is from onetopicatatime from youtube (i highly reccomend for some chill but also educational content about lgbtqia+ things), who i remember saying once "if you think you're faking it, you're probably not." if you relate to queer experiences, or you think you might have had a queer crush at one point, then dont disregard that!! this community is more than large enough for you, and all of your experiences are valid, no matter what.

Even if you and another pan person on the internet both identify as pan, and that person has been hooking up with literally anybody they find mildly hot at a bar, and you've had a few small crushes on small selections of people who happen to all be the same gender, that doesnt mean you're less valid. maybe they're older than you and have had more time to be attracted to people. maybe theres no cute/hot boykissers at your school/work/etc.

i'm not pan, but the definition describes the potential for being attracted to people regardless of gender identity. i dont see anything there telling you that you have to be attracted to every. single. person you see. maybe its a coincidence, or (and I say this as an aromantic person who always thinks that im just weird for not wanting to date people) maybe you just haven't found people you really connect with yet.

being scared of not being queer "enough" or faking your identity is essentially a hallmark of the queer experience at this point, and I think it really just takes time to feel comfortable in your identity. it sucks but I think that's just how it goes.

part 2 - gender wowie

i think it's good to think about what are your reasons you want to get gender affirming procedures. like do you want them to stop dysphoria? to wear clothes that fit your gender better? to feel more attractive to yourself, and better about yourself when others are attracted to you?

if you think it's the right pathway for you, go for it. but remember you're valid as trans, or enby, or anything, no matter if you physically transition or not. however, you don't have to decide NOW NOW NOW NOW. like for example maybe you're multigender and one part of you really wants to look like your assigned gender, but the other half wants to be the opposite or in between. or maybe you're genderfluid and you feel too much like your AGAB too often to be sure you wanna transition.

final takeaway is that its gonna take time to feel sure about being queer and your place among the community. also, maybe do the aroace thing of categorising every person you know and seeing if you would be attracted to them or not, cause at least you get closure then, if not then you get queer attraction instead. also, if you have the means to, maybe try dressing as the opposite to your assigned gender (ask for Visa gift vouchers if your parents / guardians aren't supportive and you don't have an income / credit card)

Final thoughts I like all the characters so far. Not a fan of the male gaze. I’m absolutely a Harry/Marcone shipper thanks to @jadedragoness. Let’s see how far the Bi Harry counter can go. “He wanted to take a peek at my soul. He wanted to see what sort of man I was” Has interesting implications in that Marcone seems to know what a soul gaze is and he knows about magic. Not sure if I’m reading too much into it. Not a fan of Morgan he needs to take a chill pill and stop being such a Knight Templar. I’m pretty sure Bianca killed Rachel which isn’t great. Like lady you could have stopped before you drained Rachel dry. Bianca isn’t the smartest person around. I didn’t realize that the Beckett’s were all the way back in book 1. He Who Walks Behind is differently coming back. Like you don’t have a name like that and not be important. The fight scenes were cool. I thought there would be more spell slinging. Overall I liked it.

This is just a random thought that popped into my head but what if... and I know this will sounds crazy but... what if... The pool scene is only KP's second time doing anal (the first was obviously the scene in ep 4)? Idk, I just feel like their second time would hold a lot of significance, given that their first was a bit murky (with Porsche being drugged and therefore experiencing it differently than he would have had he been sober), so this would be their first time doing it while both of them are completely of sound mind.

Btw, I realise this is highly unlikely because lord knows those two are horny af. This is probably just me wishing that we got to actually see them both experience it when sober for the first time instead of it happening offscreen. But hey, I can dream. 💁🏻‍♀️

I mean….maybe? But I honestly don’t think so. (I mean, the way Porsche sat down in ep 9…girl.)

Also not saying this is where your head’s at anon, I don’t think you were necessarily implying this, but I just generally would like to push back on this perception I see floating around, not even specifically in this community but just fandom as a whole, that anal is some kind of, idk pinnacle of mlm sex. Non-penetrative sex isn’t somehow “less” in terms of pleasure or intimacy or emotional impact. That’s one reason why I love that bathroom scene in ep 7 so much, because it portrays a queer sex act that we hardly ever see onscreen, and drives home that what they’re doing is just as much “making love” as any other type of sex. It feels very much like queer love through a queer lens, and it just really means a lot that this scene is such a key turning point in their relationship.

I think this idea that penetrative sex is, like, the sex is pretty common. I mean, I have a friend (who’s bi!) who told me she didn’t consider giving her bf a handjob sex. Only dick-in-hole penetration “counted” to her. And I was like ???? Petal then my sex life is dry af by that metric bc “hand stuff” is like a solid 40% of what me and my gf do 😂

So I guess my point is, sure there can definitely be specific, like, aspects of certain kinds of sex that have some kind of emotional weight to them. But I just hesitate to uphold one particular sex act as especially significant when to me, it’s less about where your hands/dick/pussy/mouth are and more about where you are mentally and emotionally, if that makes sense. Maybe Kinn and Porsche do assign some additional significance or intimacy to anal which is totally cool and valid! But I haven’t really seen much indication of that personally so I’m inclined to think that’s not why the pool scene is special to them.

(Also if it IS their first time doing anal since ep 4, I will be giving some heavy side-eye at Kinn for choosing a fking POOL to do it in. Is it possible to fuck in a pool? Technically I guess. Is it a good idea? NO. Don’t fucking do it bestie. Porsche has a magic asshole or smth, don’t let the Cinema™️ fool you.)

Another few things about rewrite!jervis.

- that tea party shit? Hell yeah he still has those but hypnotizing people? Using hypnosis on people to force them to do stuff?? Making them do stuff against their will??????? HELL no, he already feels uncomfortable about the hats he has to make, why would he want to make people do his bidding for some friggin tea party????? He’s just goofing around with friends!!!! Friends who actually WANT to be there!!!!! No hypnosis necessary!!!! He is a nice fucking person ok

- Joker initially tried to do his makeup, (yes, he does wear makeup when he’s “on business”), and Jervis tolerated it the first few times, but Harley noticed that he was looking really really uncomfortable and nervous, so she offered to take over for Joker, and has been helping him out with it ever since.

- Jervis didn’t start out acting “mad”. He was only acting that way, at first, and was doing so on Joker’s orders.

…at first.

- When he was just starting out, he didn’t make the actual hats themselves, he just put the components and wiring and stuff in hats he’d buy or find, and maybe give them a bit of a touch-up if they seemed like they needed it. As he got more familiar with the way they were made, his engineering mind started trying to figure out how he might be able to make them himself, and so he began gradually moving away from modifying store-bought hats and started making his own custom ones.

- He’s probably been in Arkham on only a few occasions. And he only turned himself in on one of those occasions… which wound up being the worst experience of his life. They barely helped him, and really just wound up traumatizing him instead of improving his mental state. He managed to escape, thanks to a few friends he’d made in the “asylum”, and made absolutely sure he’d never have to stay there for longer than half a week if he ever went back there again.

- REFUSES to use knives and certain other weapons. Honestly prefers to punch people if he can lol

- Oh my god oh my god oh my goD OK SO he has that cool thing where he was born with a handful of pigment-less patches on his skin, and it makes it so that he has a natural white streak and a few little white hairs here and there in his hair, he’s SO cool, even one of his eyebrows has a big bit of white in it cause there are a few spots around his eye that don’t have pigment- it’s really hard to see the actual spots on his skin, but if you look closely you can see that there are spots where the hairs are completely white- it’s so cool- (I don’t think it’s vitiligo, I’m pretty sure vitiligo is something completely different and doesn’t actually allow hair to grow from it..? But I could be completely wrong.)

- His nose has been broken a couple times.

- He’s never used his pocketwatch to hypnotize someone without good reason, except when Joker was his “boss” and told him he had to.

- worst nightmare? Initially, he’d say being trapped. After whatever makes him snap makes him snap, and once he starts mentally recovering from it and regaining his sanity, however… it would definitely have to be “losing his head” all over again.
