It's her husband, King Theodore. Emi has been reincarnated into the body of Princess Emilia, Theodore's first wife. Emi crawls out of her coffin. Theodore picks her up, and he decides to use her. In this world reincarnated people are a sign of disaster. Emi will be burned to death by a mob if the truth comes out. She has to be a good wife or else...

Wait...Emilia is still alive...kinda. Emi got the body, but the spirit of Emilia is floating around her. Ok, so what does this mean? Emilia's spirit is a side effect. It's what happens when a foreign spirit like Emi steals a body. Emilia could turn into an evil spirit, and bring forth calamity. Theodore wants to destroy her, but Emi befriends her instead.

Theodore isn't a very romantic guy. He's a practical, workaholic king. His reincarnated wife is interesting, so he lets her live...for now.

Theodore softens up pretty fast, but he still isn't very romantic until like chapter 4. I wasn't sure if he was a yandere for a while. He's very childish around Emi. Emi is willing to be a good Queen in order to live a comfortable life, but that doesn't mean love is on the table. Emilia and Theodore were in a loveless marriage. Emi does not pursue Theodore. He eventually comes after her.

Sidenote. Theodore is the strongest magician. He has a ton of scary powers, but he's overworked. He will die if he doesn't learn how to let his guard down. Emi is pretty nice, and she can also see that Theodore is an effective King. She doesn't want him to die, and she doesn't want Emilia to become an evil spirit.

Emilia becomes her best friend by the way. It's kinda weird, but cute...Emilia is a brat though. I roll my eyes when she rants about men and romance.

There's a lot of culture shock in this. King Theodore rules over a polygamous kingdom. Emilia didn't have to be by his side. She actually wanted him to bring in another princess. Emi is more traditional. She never wants to fall for Theodore, because she doesn't want to share the one she loves.

(She is willing to be one of the queens and enjoy a wealthy life though lol...)

Theodore proposes once more after he promises to be faithful.

After the proposal Theodore becomes very jealous. He hates Emilia. He wants Emi to care about him. No one else. He even gets jealous when she compliments the servants.

It's easy to see why Theodore is a yandere. Emi is his friend. Possibly the first friend he has ever had fun with. He is a work machine, but Emi is able to break down his barriers. She knows how bad overworking is, and her earnest attempts to help him are pretty cute. Theodore also isn't an overly toxic yandere... mostly...they are married...and he kind of has a point...

Emi makes up a ton of excuses, but Theodore thinks a loving royal marriage will bring happiness and prosperity to the whole country.

...he's absolutely right. Emilia was a total brat content to hide in her personal castle. Emi is a dutiful queen. A love match with her husband can only be a good thing...but sigh...ugh...Emi is insecure because her previous life sucked etc.

This is pretty complex for a reincarnation story, and the yandere isn't a boring cookie-cutter villain.

They intend to make the monster hunter share their pain, but the hunter is so much more ragged and tired then they remember. It seems they’ve become broken and scarred all on their own.

8. Knowing that planet earth is about to be destroyed, a group of aliens breaks protocol and abducts a few hundred humans in order to preserve the race. However, the humans, whether uninformed or wracked with grief are none too happy about this development. The ship’s captain tries to keep them isolated to one area of the ship, believing it will be easier to them adjust to one factor at a time, but one of the humans is always escaping, and searching the captain out. The captain is still only semi-fluent in human, but their addresses usually involve a lot of shrieking and spitting.

9. Vampires are merciless, bloodthirsty monsters; the vampire Hunter knows this from much experience. So why are they having such a hard time finishing this one? Pretty hair and a sunshiny attitude are not reason enough!

10. The detective is the only thing standing in the way of the criminal’s success and freedom. They should take this chance, catching the detective helpless and off guard, to get rid of them permanently. But…the detective has also been the only constant in their life for years. 12. After kidnapping Sidekick multiple times as leverage, it is Villain’s turn to be a hostage. In all their captures, Sidekick discovered a familial connection between Villain and Supervillain, and with Supervillain on the verge of mass destruction, Sidekick is going to exploit it. Surrender or Villain will be killed. Except Sidekick has no experience with hostages and is relying on all of Villain’s advice on how to keep them secure. Endless- Maul, Old Guard AU

Maul is killed on Naboo and wakes up whole and alive. Most of the prequels stuff stays the same, but Maul is, for a while, convinced he's some kind of god. When he meets up with Savage he's convinced his brother is just like him, so when Savage dies and stays dead, it shatters something in him he didn't know he had. He's also captured by Palpatine and tortured/experimented upon because immortality is absolutely something that withered bastard wants.

Maul still isn't able to defeat Palps, which is another big mark against the "I'm a god" theory, but he does finally escape and goes off to lick his wounds and try to recover.

The Jedi are still wiped out, but while at first this seems like a good thing to him, there is an emptiness to existence that wasn't there before. Palpatine being in charge of the galaxy galls, and worse, he's doing a bad job of it, in Maul's opinion. It doesn't help that when Empire troopers see him they assume he's a Jedi and try to kill him. Sometimes succeeding.

One of the reasons Maul never got a chance at bettering himself is because he was too consumed with his own grievances to see past the end of his nose, but now he has an eternity to learn and eventually... he does.

Sure, part of it is still fueled by his anger at the universe, but over time he finds he likes helping others. It's strange and off-putting to encounter people who are kind to him and who don't fear him. Once upon a time he'd have been insulted, but now it's... nice. Ish.

He still backslides a lot because, well, he's Maul, but also backsliding is part of moving forward. He helps the Rebellion here and there because anyone who wants to destroy Palpatine is welcome, as far as he's concerned. If he meets the twins, he definitely favors Leia over Luke.

By the time the Sequels happen, Maul has been on the "good" end of the spectrum for a while. Maybe the lower end of it, but still good. He's absolutely not putting up with this First Order bullshit.

Lots of stuff is still the same, but I'll say Maul was fucking around on the Deth Star X-treme! so the attempt to wipe out Hosnia system partially failed. Still lots of death and destruction, but enough of the central government survives that they're forced to realize they may have made a mistake with all their waffling. Maybe.

Maul kills Snoke and is killed in return. While some underlings drag the bodies off to the incinerators, Kylo and Hux are in a standoff over who's in charge.

Maul wakes up and knocks out the troopers carrying him and Snoke, then stashes them in a room without any means of communication. See? He can learn not to kill everyone. Plus, if Fin could rebel maybe these guys will, too. Snoke burns, and Maul heads off to the reactor thingy in time to see Han talking to Kylo.

It's very important for me to note here that there is absolutely no way to excuse Kylo's choice to kill his father: with Snoke dead it is absolutely his own choice to put a saber through Han's chest. Except thanks to some timely intervention from Maul, Han is only grievously wounded instead because fuck you, Harrison Ford.

Maul taunts Kylo, saying that he's met Anakin Skywalker and can confirm that Kylo is just like him: a sniveling, spoiled brat with more hair than sense. He also says Kylo doesn't deserve the name Ben because Obi-Wan, at least, was a worthy opponent.

They fight, giving our plucky heroes time to drag Han to the safety of the ship. Kylo is all you don't understaaand, but Maul is very been there, done that, don't even have the scars to prove it.

Is there a chance Kylo could someday learn to be a better person? Maybe, but it took Maul seventy-odd years and a lot of deaths to unstubborn himself and he really isn't in the mood to take that chance.

Now. At this point it could go one of two ways: the fast solution is Maul kills Kylo and then it's just a matter of wiping out Hux and Phasma and getting Fin to help "deprogram" the troopers and dismantle the Order. OR Kylo could kill Maul and go off to have the big fight in the snow with Rey and Fin while Maul, who isn't recovering as fast as he used to, struggles to get back to the ship and trusts his apprentice(s) to handle it.

With the former the Resistance is going to realize that a First Order without Darksiders mucking things up is actually a lot more dangerous and harder to kill, though it still gets done in the end.

With the latter, the drama lasts longer and it'll be Rey who winds up killing Kylo only to get killed, herself. ...And wake up.

Either way, the trip to Luke's Sooper Seekrit Hideout includes Maul. Because I can play god with this, I'll say that Luke isn't sulking out his entire life on Ahch-To, but rather went there for Important Reasons and got stuck. He and Maul can be bickering co-Masters to Rey's training (and eventually Fin's). Maul teaches her how to create mental shields so Kylo can't intrude on her thoughts (if he's still alive).

The baddies are eventually defeated. Maul & Rey have a lot to talk about re: near-immortality. Han, Leia, Luke, and Chewie are reunited and happy to retire for good, maybe with Lando. Fin & Poe are tasked with trying to return the dozens of children saved from First Order training camps, but it's likely they're going to be raising a lot of them themselves.

Maul is finally comfortable and satisfied with the person he's become. He may not be able to change the past, but he can help shape the future. And he can try to prepare Rey for whatever may be coming next.

(Maul isn't the only immortal, just the only one relevant to this particular story)

Coord Breakdown: July 1st, 2023

Now that I've got a dedicated lolita blog, I'll be posting and discussing some of my coords, starting with a few from the past. This one's one of my personal favorites, and very meaningful to me.

This coord is a big milestone for me. It's my first handmade JSK (not counting a failed attempt from years earlier), and my first time using my own custom fabric!

I designed the fabric in the summer of 2022, and had it printed via Spoonflower. It's themed around Castlevania, a favorite game series of mine (and one that has quite the interesting history with lolita! Did you know Mana composed a ringtone to promote Harmony of Dissonance that is now lost media?). Each of the stained glass windows depicts one of the subweapons used throughout the games (plus wall chicken), which are also repeated as a motif inside the stripes. If you look closely, you can also see the modern and retro Castlevania logo incorporated into the surrounding glass. Beneath the windows are gravestone-like blocks, each with the name of a game's protagonists and the year the game takes place. At the hem is a quote that has been attributed to a number of people, including Winston Churchill, but is notably said by Alucard and Richter at the end of Symphony of the Night. Finally, above the border print is a pair of wall-mounted candles, which can be found throughout Castlevania and destroyed to gain ammo or other upgrades. According to IGA, these candles contain the restless spirits of Dracula's victims, who drop upgrades as thanks for freeing them from the castle.

Here are some closeups, one of which is in the black colorway! I've got four different colorways available on Spoonflower, each inspired by a different character (Richter, Alucard, Juste, and Maria). You can find them here. The fabric I chose for my JSK is poly crepe de chine.

The cut of the JSK is based on Bodyline's Skull in Wonderland JSK, which I've owned for years now; It's simple and fits me well, so I figured using it as a template would be the most effective way to make a good JSK for myself without too much hassle. Making clothes based on existing garments you own is a tried-and-true method in fashion design and home sewing.

I actually debuted the JSK about a month earlier while on vacation, with a different coord:

However, I couldn't help feeling that it was a bit lackluster. After much thought and advice from friends, I decided to spruce things up and give it another try at the then-upcoming renfaire.

This time I used one of my summer blouses, an offbrand peasant top I got at Rainbow forever ago- I think the brand is Ambiance? I also bought a set of bracelets (also from Rainbow, and they've now become a staple of my wardrobe), and a pair of black lace-topped OTKs in place of the plain black tights I'd worn before. For the rest of the jewelry, I wore a glittery purple bat necklace I'd bought from a renfaire vendor years ago (I wish I knew the name!! If anyone recognizes it please let me know!), and a scrap of black lace with a small safety pin through the back as a choker.

Finally, the remaining accessories. I made a wired headbow out of leftover fabric from the dress, with a beaded chain in front. I wore this over a veil from Fanplusfriend. As for the waist cincher, I made it out of stretch pleather and lace, along with black fabric to tie in the back. I used gold acrylic paint to add a nice patina to the leather, and hand-painted our pal Simon Belmont in a coordinating color scheme. My parents said it looks like a wrestling belt, lol.

Regarding the boots, I know damn well that the renfaire grounds are muddy and uneven, so I wore a pair of riding boots I originally bought for a Joseph Joestar cosplay way back in the day. Sometimes you gotta sacrifice a little bit for practicality's sake.

All in all, I'm very proud of how this coord came out. It was really amazing seeing something I designed come to life, and working hard to make it truly beautiful. I hope this inspires other folks to try their hand at designing and making lolita!

Just some stuff I noticed, from small to serious.

旦那 (dan'na)

K so I found it funny Black Sperm calls Saitama “dan'na” bc the term can mean different by its context, eg. an honorific for husband, patron, or master, etc. I believe it's translated to English as “Boss” which is most fit but when I first read it I automatically associated it with “master” of the more softer nuances and not the rougher casual “hey boss” sort of vibe, so I was surprised like, huh BS is unusually deferential to Saitama, esp. bc the rest of his speech pattern is fairly casual. But, makes sense bc he's seen enough to know. Also makes sense bc on one hand, rn he has to pretend to be a benign, goofy “monkey” …idk how ppl see a black teletubby n just believe it's monkey but s'ok, story logic… to get by heroes, hence the casual goofy monkey speech, but on the other, he absolutely does not want to cross Saitama, so he chooses to refer to him politely.

husband​: can be used to refer to your own, or smb else's husband (add honorifics). Some other ways of address: 夫 otto, 主人 shujin,

sir; boss; master; governor​: used to address a male patron, customer, or person of high status

As you can see, a non-exhaustive list of what it can mean. With automatic association to house -hold and patronage nuances, my mental image got mildly confused for a moment. Like can you really see an obeisant, nice little BS who humbly serves Saitama with utmost formality??

Also it was good to see him ask about Manako, but I do want to know if she's alive and safe.

^after the scene when Forte got hit, Fubuki told Saitama to go with her and said:

あなたの住処を破壊した張本人に会わせてあげる

Basically the reason she gave for their excursion was, “I'll let you meet the person responsible for the destruction of your residence.”

Whom I thought was Psykos bc at the moment, we saw parallel scenes of Tsukuyomi guy at her cell and Tatsumaki had not arrived, but Saitama doesn't know Psykos yet, so when Fubuki made her speech, Saitama confused without so much as context to who all the ppl on scene are, then Tatsumaki arrives most destructively, he must have thought it could be absolutely no other than the “chibi” who threw Genos on a wall.

Which is why Saitama went “I see, the one who destroyed my home was…(Tatsumaki) ಠ ◡ ಠ##”

But I had to wonder who did Fubuki really mean to refer to with “the person who destroyed your place”? If Fubuki meant Psykos how would Saitama react?

Fortress Haven or Death Maze?

Well it's good to see Max and Shadow on break, but an emergency call cuts it short, and amidst the commotion, one of them (I assume it's Max) laments the place is so big it's easy to get lost.

What can I say, it's almost like the new HQ, with its concentrated yet puzzled pyramid structure, complete with a moat of self-isolation, remotely omniscient surveillance, a manufactured façade of paradise with luxury security atop seven hells of hidden disasters eager to be released, and so on…almost like it's a direct visual representation of HA's operation hierarchy: centralized system of power and economic monopoly, yet rife with office politics, factions at tension, dysfunctional management, corrupt unstable foundation, and unsavoury secrets to hide.

Cohesively staffed, an impregnable fortress. Yet improperly managed, an exit-less death maze.

And I say it bc the place is not only complicated and spacious but also uniform. Its grand Jenga-Lego stack of cluster structures look so similar, if not literally the same, from every angle, if you rotated it on a turntable, I couldn't tell the sides from each other nor which faced NESW at first.

Of course, part of why they got lost is, it's newly built, heroes just moved to residency, obviously, it's not out of expectation for heroes, or anyone who's never step foot there for the matter, to be unfamiliar with exact floor plan details of such a vast, complex structure, its design sleek at best and dystopian at worst.

But I must wonder, for I feel like it will become a problem later, HQ's isolated vast complexity… If it doesn't fall apart from its core first, what with overpowered resident, destructive visitors, and let's not forget the basement full of a nasty little monstrosity of pets the corrupt executives keep for cash flow they don't use to pay heroes.

While Forte is eager to get out of bed and make a quick work of the noisy monsters who disturb his already bad day, blow off convenient steam, it looks like Air can't even emote natural, human facial expressions, and it unsettles me so!

If you look long enough it almost looks like he is controlled like a puppet Σ(-᷅_-᷄⁉︎)

As for BlueFire, I can't tell if it's an empty sleeve or a prosthetic arm but hopefully he got an arm with extra spicy flamethrower fingers so he can be extra terribly efficient. He'd probably max his specs to roast evildoers out of spite. I sense one step to Genos. Same age, similar personality.

We can agree that the tonal dissonance is the worst part yes because why did they come out of that good ass smoke confront yourself scene with Ruby making a hilarious meme face at us 😭 can they decide if they want serious or slapstick or at least make said slapstick feel more cruel/surreal, like go for a tone where the characters are suffering but the inherently ridiculous world is constantly fucking with them. Nah don't worry about it, anon. Idk how to really explain it, but for me a "bad" show isn't necessarily a "slog" show. I like waking up Saturday morning to watch RWBY, knowing I'll get to write a recap later, engage with other fans throughout the week, etc. It could feel overwhelming at times given the previous one day pace I had set, but not a slog (no matter how much it might sound that way in recaps because, as established, there's A Lot of problems to cover that obviously color my tone). But the moment this project actually becomes an uninspiring slog I'd just... drop it? I mean, no offense to anyone here who likes keeping up with these posts, but I'm not a Content Creator℠ in the sense of this being a job. Tumblr doesn't pay me lol. Whenever/if ever it's no longer enjoyable, it's no longer something I'll do. Simple as that.

Anyway, YEAH. Tone. I had the same sort of, "Wait, huh?" reaction to Ruby's exaggerated panic over losing the Cat (complete with more stylized, manga-esque animation cues) immediately after she's reminded that Salem is two steps away from destroying the whole world and they have no plan to stop her. It's truly jarring. You know what I was thinking about the other day though? How although it's obviously weird, frustrating, and sometimes dangerous, Ever After should also be beautiful. Creative. Inspiring. An astounding, impossible experience! We got a little bit of that with Ruby walking through the garden, but leaning into the girls' amazement could be a good way of lightening the otherwise dark Volume. I mean, they haven't just landed in a fairy tale, but a beloved childhood classic complete with favorite characters, gorgeous scenery, unlimited magic where before they've only seen bits in combat... Do you have any idea how fucking STOKED I would be if I suddenly found myself in Narnia? The Shire? Hogwarts? Or yeah, Wonderland? Even if I knew that there was danger here and even if I had something traumatically important to get back to in the real world, there would still be a part of myself simply giddy at the prospect of exploring my favorite story. If Blake spent more time gushing over meeting her favorite characters, if Weiss stood in awe at the architecture, if Yang was Ooo-ing over the cool creatures here, if Ruby took a breather to look at sentient toys and go, "That's awesome" we could add a lot of lightheartedness without interrupting the primary tone. Right now, the girls' attitude is primarily "Wow, this world is the worst" rather than "Wow, this world is a wonderland." And true, that is (mostly) accurate to Alice's experiences, but it's not helping me enjoy the setting when the girls so clearly hate being there.

I was about to type here that I am having lunch in this triggering place without a single fear and feeling utterly relaxed. Which was entirely true. I felt so at peace and calm. As soon as I typed out the date above in this post.. my abuser appeared, ha! What are the odds. (Quite high to be fair, which is why this location is triggering and I do exposure at it) I have chosen to sit differently today to challenge myself for more exposure which means I am facing the direction he is about to be seated. This will be interesting.

I am nervous and shaking. Breathing faster. I'm going to face this moment head on though. I will attempt to sit here until I approach a more relaxed state of mind. I must say I am afraid to look up now since I am looking down at my phone to type this. I am quite terrified to make eye contact with him.

I just looked up and he has chosen to sit with his back facing me. This is a nice development. Does this indicate he is also afraid to be confronted with me staring at him? Does he not want me to see him? He did choose a seat near me though. Perhaps he wants to be close yet stealthily. I could see him approach the building because I have a window seat and in my peripheral vision I noticed he stopped to look at me before entering the building. I wonder if he was deciding whether or not to still have lunch here.

I am starting to slowly shake less. I really don't want him to see me shaking. I want to appear completely unaffected by his presence. Like he means nothing to me at all. As if I have forgotten him and don't even know who he is. As if I would have to say: 'excuse me, I don't know who you are? Have we met before?' I want him to feel insignificant in my life.

To be honest it is quite weird to be seated in a lunch room in close proximity to a person who has attempted to completely destroy your life. I did EMDR about this person yesterday. How strange that they can just be seated there. It's almost laughable. Monsters really just walk among us don't they. I just noticed my shirt has an angry dog on it who is holding a knife in its mouth, haha. It shows not to mess with me I guess.

I take joy from the fact he is seated alone. He might be thinking the same in reverse. If only he could see me sitting here with a friend. Although being seated here alone shows my bravery and strength. I am glad he is not sitting there with another potential victim. I don't trust him to treat anyone right.

I take small glimpses at him sometimes but I am avoiding looking up from my phone. It scares me to think of him looking around into my eyes. His eyes scare me a lot I think. Having eye contact also means acknowledging each others presence. Right now I can just pretend to not be aware he is even here. I like to keep pretending. I also feel pretty much physically unable to make my head face his direction. This must just be the fear. I am breathing more calm and shaking even less. Yet I feel frozen to keep looking down at my phone. I want to challenge myself and look his direction but it's hard. It brings a lot of fear.

I looked. I'm proud of myself. It was scary so my heartbeat went up again. I like how this is real time live blogging my exposure. I just feel it would be very interesting for me to read back in the future.

It is also my goal to calm down enough to feel at peace right now. Even with him in close proximity. I want my body to know that his presence is not dangerous in this public setting. He can't hurt me because there is too many people around.

My fear is still pretty high. I'm not shaking as much though. I wonder if I can make myself look again. I did. Apparently in this meantime he has put on a beanie, lol. I wonder if he is as distressed as me. I'd almost want to stare at him and observe him. I have the upper hand in terms of being able to observe him from behind. Him turning around is too frightening of a prospect though.

I might just leave. I don't want to get a parking ticket, lol. I'll have to walk right past him to get to the exit. I hope I don't drop my plate with nerves, hahaha. Fear is for sure rising at the thought of passing him by but he can't do shit. He is just a pathetic guy. Sitting at a lunch table. He can't hurt me now. I must believe in this.

part 2, written same day once home

I was able to leave the place feeling pretty strong. He followed me out which is weird cause he also did that last time. I wonder if it's truly coincidence or if he waited for it (I'm very much thinking the latter, but who knows). I didn't feel afraid of it though because I felt he was weak. I took a diversion which made it so I was behind him instead and then went to my car. He didn't follow me there so all was good.

Part of me wonders if he enjoys being able to sit in my proximity and have a look at me. Especially considering his previous stalking behaviour. I am curious whether he thinks I notice him or not. I don't care if he enjoys it tbh. I am just using these opportunities to realize he isn't dangerous in public settings and I can freely do as I please without him harassing me.

First of all thank you!! The fandom may be small but it's made of some very stubborn people like me lol

Now for the headcanons! (Long train of thought alert)

The story would follow the plot from Before Ever After and the first episode of the show

Until bam! Jack shows up from a portal and apparently he comes from the future?? Also this is Jack after the events of his movie

People can see him bc magic is a thing here (spoiler: his timeline is the same of Tangled, just a few centuries after) (Merida Raps and Hiccup's are from the exact same time period because Tangled said fuck historical accuracy and so do I)

Merida arrives after running away feom her marriage issue, basically instead of the witch she follows the wisps all the way to Corona

Hiccup is there for some dragon research, set between httyd 1 and 2

(yes I have conflicting feelings about The Hidden World and yes this is a way to cope with said feelings) (same for Brave)

Jack sticks around to find a way home since his apparition involved the black rocks and staying with Raps seems a good way to solve the thing

Hiccup stays to escape from his own chief problems for a while, Merida is just stocked about the adventure

Varian and Hiccup become close after they bond over their wanna-make-dad-proud-but-also-other-people situation and their interest for science. I think Hiccup would be the first to really Listen To Him you know?

Meanwhile Merida finds a mentor and a friend in Cass, they train a lot together and have fun

The Queen for a Day events happen and while Hiccup does follow Varian to his dad, Rapunzel isn't able to and Varian Doesn't Like That. The final episodes of s1 follow this

Except when the path of rocks shows up Cass immediatly goes "ok bye losers I'm gonna get myself some power and prove I matter". She isn't really mad at anyone in particular (ok maybe to her dad) but her actions escalate during s2 and s3

It doesn't help that she kidnaps Toothless to get a ride to the Dark Kingdom, needless to say Hiccup is emotionally destroyed after this (but it's a nice chance for a character arc so he can realize he's worthy even without a dragon!)

Which brings us to s2: this time the party is only made of The Four, Lance and Eugene. Sorry Hookfoot and Shorty

It becomes apparent that Jack has some connection to the rocks, but it's another mystery. Hiccup is Sad. Merida is having the time of her life

S2 finale: we get back Toothless but Merida gets convinced by Cass to get the moonstone shard that Rapunzel broke. Merida accepts to ~change her destiny~ (evil arc? evil arc.)

In all this Eugene is going through his personal Identity Crisis with the Dark Kingdom stuff

This is where I haven't thought about plot: at some point in s3 Merida gets a redemption,

Jack discovers that he owns the moonstone from the future (his present) and fixes his broken stuff (you should buy some glue for that thing Jack). He was sent to the past in case the Past!Moonstone gets destroyed or something. Not cool, Sun and Moon, not cool

After an emotional fight with the Four Cass finally regrets her recent life choices and helps Rapunzel defeat Zan Thiri

Character arcs get resolved, people are happy and can go home and they all lived happily ever after!

To be honest, as someone who enjoys both Knight/Queen and Doomed guy alive/Corrupted woman, their chemistry and their potential in the og novel is so delicious :P

i kinda talked myself into liking it and while i still find a bit farfetched in canon, fanon is a completely different beast. yes i do see the fandom being big on og javier and tyrant alicia.

this is a fandom that most certainly thrives on seeing their blorbo suffer through the Horrors™, they wouldn't be able to resist such an angsty ship.

also i'm obsessed with the dynamic you gave them. corrupted woman trying to destroy everything in her path and man doomed to live though the tragedies. forever locked in battle. unstoppable force meets immovable object. it is very compelling when you put it like that.

the issue would be getting those two to not kill each other on first sight but fandom has concocted weirder premises. they could figure it out.

personally i'm thinking of a twist of the yi city arc from mdzs, with an injured alicia being separated from her troops for some reason and javier helping her without being aware of just who he is taking care of. seeing as we never get confirmation these two even met in person in the novel, we can handwave away javier not recognizing the tyrant queen as him either never seeing a good portrait of the queen or her changing so much in the years after her descend into madness that she looks nothing like what he'd expect of her.

alicia would bristle at the idea of having to relay on a stranger, a vagrant knight at that, for help, her paranoia and distrust not allowing her to accept javier's aid easily, always being on edge waiting for him to stab her in the back. only to slowly realize that no, there's no hidden motive, javier is just,,, like that. to everyone who needs his help. she's not special, she's not important, she's not anyone of interest to him. and he's still helping her because it's the right thing to do. i think that would break through her insanity a little bit, realizing that she's not,,, someone javier would have any interest on betraying because as far as he knows he has nothing to gain from it.

the relief of finally for the first time in years being allowed to lower her guard because there's no threats around her would allow her mind to regain some of the clarity she'd lost in the midst of her feelings of betrayal and pain.

javier treating her like a person would make her be alicia again and not just the tyrant queen.

meanwhile javier is just. really glad there's been no attacks by the queen recently, cause he really doesn't want to let the injured woman he found on the side of the road all by herself again. she's clearly not well and has been hurt a lot in the past and he wants to make sure she's okay before they go separate ways.

and it's nice. to not be so alone. most of the people he helps have homes and families to go back to and he doesn't begrudge them for that but it does make it all the more lonely to constantly move from one place to another, knowing he has nowhere to go back to.

the woman isn't nice, her words are biting and full with suspicions and threats, she won't even tell him her name but when he asked if there was anywhere safe she could go to, friends or family she could turn to for help, her silence spoke for her.

it's selfish of him. but he's glad they get to have one another, if only for a little while. he knows it won't last, the queen or lupellan or another threat will rise up once again and he'll leave to protect the people that need it. but for now. it's nice.

5. Do you respond to comments?

I do! Sometimes it can take a long time because most of the time between university, work, language courses, immigrant problems, care for my flat and pets I'm partially dead, but I'll always answer. Though sometimes when I'm too tired I ignore really short ones (from five or so words) because I don't know what can I answer for that.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

pyrrhic victory (kaisagi). I still feel sorry for Isagi when I think about it. It's kinda OOC because of the circumstances I build there, but I still think that that's a quite possible acting for Isagi in that situation. He's just seventeen, after all.

As for kainess, then directly it's house of cards, and indirectly float: major spoiler below, skip italics block if you plan to read 'float'.

Because while Ness believes that "rules" (Ness is useful = Kaiser is not leaving him) which he and Kaiser have will grant him control… actually they mean nothing. The whole scene with spirits (when Kaiser brags about them foolishly thinking that he'll follow long-gone rules about human and gods) along with the loneliness theme is a huge metaphor for that. Kaiser will destroy everything on his path if he'd want to, just of pure boredom, and no rules will ever stop him. And, of course, one day this "everything" will include Ness.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

"sigh" probably Birds and Wings. I'm still occasionally thinking about orphaning it, but I won't do it since my friend will behead me in instant if I'll do that haha In my defense at that time it still wasn't clear how bad are kainess problems - they looked like two silly plushes, so Kaiser is much softer there, and Ness is in his mentally-stable era. Like, Kaiser still uses Isagi a bit, but also helps him a lot of course. This is explained by the injury that put his career under the threat and after which Kaiser is kind of reevaluating his life a bit, but of course now I realise it doesn't work that way with him haha. It's pure romance, basically. I still feel my teeth getting rotten when I think about the epilogue. As you may see, I don't really like it.

Through this was the fic because of which I've met one of the best persons in my life, so of course I'm also quite grateful to it!

8. Do you get hate on fics?

From myself lol Through I've never got anything bad from my commenters, everyone is always so sweet and nice.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I try to avoid it as much as I can haha. Don't like to write it. Through actually there's a lot of feelings and relationship aspects which can be shown through the sex, so it's kind of sad - I'd liked to be better with that. If I write then I try to finish it as fast as possible haha so usually they're rated M and have a really non-graphic smut. Sometimes that really affects atmosphere of the writing (in bad way), so for example I think it's visible in charity project (kaisagi), which just can't be written without a smut scene

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Nope, and not that I want to - maybe I did when I was younger, but I almost don't remember that time. Though I've mentioned Esperion from Ao Ashi in Birds and Wings!

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Nope, at least I don't know about that.

12. What's the longest you've ever spent working on one fic? And the shortest?

Longest - it's really hard to tell, since there are a lot of fics which I write quite fast but I think for months about the idea, settings and thoughts I want to show. Maybe it was Pilgrims (kainessagi), took so long for both research and writing. I've rewritten it multiple times, and at some point I had 12k words in my cut-out document and 2k in final one.

Shortest - I don't know, probably cyclicity (kainess) or summer in your eyes (tabiori). I wrote both of them in span of 3-4 hours. But again, it also involved a lot of thinking before haha

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Nope, never. This may be interesting but it involves too high level of trust and organization between writers to do that

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

Oikage once and forever.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have so much of them. I think "electrical dreams" for academic rivals kaisagi without existence of Blue Lock - I've been thinking about it since March or April. Isagi gets in German university in the last attempt to continue playing football, and Kaiser have lost both football and Ness because of his own overconfidence. They meet, but for both of them this moment is almost the worst in which they could have. Also there are awesome background tabiori. But it includes so much smut (⁠╥⁠﹏⁠╥⁠) And drama haha I've started it multiple times, but it just doesn't sounds right. Not sure if I'd be able to write it the way I want.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Oh… Not a good question to answer for me with all of my self-esteem issues haha But if I'd say about myself, most of all I love how I'm determining the central theme of the work and then build the whole story around it. I have few works where I allowed myself to be silly or simply writing angst of course haha, but mostly I take this part of writing really seriously, especially in the long works. The central point of my writings usually is absolute acceptance, and when I write it this way I really start to feel some hope towards myself as well.

For example, Kurana (Snuffy & Lorenzo if they met a few times before) is about how you never may know how your impulse act of kindness towards less-fortunate can affect one's life. How you can give someone hope and will to live by simply being a human. Birds and Wings are about how a single person, who finally believes in you can change your life in an instant, and how much of hope and self-esteem this can grant. How all of us are becoming better near the person who trusts us. And Pilgrims are about total acceptance of yourself, including all the bad and good and gray parts. That in the world so huge sooner or later of course you'll meet someone who'll understand you as no one else does, even if their experience is slightly different. That even in a world where you're alone one day you won't be.

Also my planning skills! I always write a plan before starting a long work, even with small one sometimes. Sometimes it changes in the process of writing, of course, but it's still nice to have a base like that. And I also write down there parts of dialog or small acts which I want to add. This can take weeks or months sometimes, but in result works becomes better than it may have been and much fuller.

And maybe the fact that I can force myself to write even if I don't want too or too tired, because else I won't write a single word in months :D

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Oh, I can rumble a lot about it haha. Sorry if it sounds kind of pathetic. But in short, I think it's either a weak English or the fact that in the end there's almost nothing which can be said about my works. I see that works with the same or lesser amount of kudos get 2-3 times more comments, and of course I'm jealous a bit of it because of my perfectionism, but most of all I'd just like to know why my works don't create similar wish to share the thoughts which appeared throughout the reading. What do they lack, what should I improve - I'd like to know that to become better. Maybe I'd like for a beta reader to read and criticize some of my works so I'd know where to dig, but again this requires a high level of trust.

I also think that characterization variety is my weak point - I'd say I have canon-like understandings of them, of course, which is shown for example in charity project or sacrifice (kainess), but I write a lot about same characters. And it will quickly get boring if I'd explore them from the same side. So my works often have entirely different characterizations, which especially visible with my kainess fics.

And the fact that I'm always trying to jump over my head in everything, and sometimes this badly affects the resulting work.

Also probably the fact that I don't read now as much as I did when I was younger, and of course this limits me in my writings. But usually I'm too tired to process normal literature. Through nevertheless I've almost finished Hesse's Steppenwolf and "The Orange Balloon Dog" of Don Thompson (through it's about art). Hope I'd had more time at the break between semesters.

I'm also almost unable to write something short just for fun (because I want to ✨show✨ something, but usually I don't have much to lol), and this really limits me. I have ~120 ideas in my drafts, but I would never write them because I know they will turn out too empty for my taste, and I'll dislike it the way I dislike some of my both posted and unposted works. Also it's hard for me to write works with more than 30k words, since I'm too laconic and can't make myself to add more scenes when I criticize myself that its 'unneeded' - even if it's purpose is to show development of characters relationships. The fact that I prefer to finish work first and only then publish it chapter by chapter because I'll afraid than else I would abandon it and disappoint someone just adds to it. Too short for maxi fics, too long for drabbles, the drama of my life.

But in the end of the day my main reader is me, and most of time I'm satisfied with my works! Of course there's a directions in which I want to evolve, but still the way I write now is the style I've always adored in other's authors works while I grew.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I know only two languages aside of the English (and basics of Czech and French which I've almost forgotten), and they can't be used in bllk fics. Once I tried to add something like that in German (when my friend who knows it a bit helped me) to Kaleidoscope, but this was a mistake haha

Through I know plenty of programming languages 🫡 One day I'll write Sae analyzing his famous statistics data in R and it will be the end for y'all.

Oh, I don't remember, this was so long ago. Probably Once Upon a Time or BSD.

20. Favourite fic you've written?

sun compression for sure - it gives me so much hope when I think about it. Love this feeling of soft calm wind filled with the sun after the storm - the feeling of serenity, if you get me. The feeling of recovering and starting a new life, leaving all the bad behind, finally looking into the future with hope. Still can't believe I've written something this beautiful. And I really love setting of Baden and kaisagi which I've written there.

Hey! First off i really love your art, it has so much expression and personality❤️💕

I saw your post critisizing Kataras look in season 3 and how they don’t let her show her weaker and more tired self, and tend to pretty her up compared to the rest to make her “more favourable to aang” I don’t really agree on that point and want to add my own two cents.

-

Both Aang and Katara have seen each other at their best and worst, mentally, physically, emotionally and totally wrecked from exhaustion and have supported each other through it.

Examples at the top of my head for katara:

-in the waterbending master when fighting pakku her hair gets messy and breathing becomea rigid and at no point lets go of her (fierce and justified) anger towards him, aang watches them and cheers for her through it (“Go Katara!”) Also not forgetting how he doesn’t want to be taught by pakku if he won’t teach her.

-in the chase all the gaang are exhausted beyond point and katara snaps multiple times, when trying to confront toph, aang attempts calming her down but she has her “IM COMPLETELY CALM” reaction and aang decides to back away. I see it as him respecting her anger and frustration and understanding she needs space atm.

-the desert all the gaang are not themselves and katara takes over as the leader in that situation, aang is incredibly distraught and furious about losing appa and it’s katara that manages to get everyone back on track, esprcially aang.

- this leads to the serpent’s pass where aang in return regrets his outburst at the sand benders and understand and appreciates kataras effort for what she did back there for all of them, esprcially him in his pure rage.

-the puppet master, katara forcibly learns bloodbending and is distraught over this fact. It’s a very brief moment in the last few seconds but she breaks down and aang and sokka comfort her without any words said and let katara hurt in that moment without any pressure to get it together.

-the southern raiders we see her at her possible worst and aang sees it too. He fully understand her anger and that she needs this journey to heal but doesn’t want her to lose herself by killing the man because it would destroy her to take a life even if he deserved it. Aang empathsizes with her and he is happy she was able to come to her own conclusion despite the pain thr both felt (her going through all these emotions and him seeing her not being herself at that moment before)

-

I also think the show lets her be messy and not “perfect” in scenes without aang too (hakoda and her in S3EP1) but i know that wasnt ur og point.

I totally think the show can be critisized with certain designs tho tbf i don’t blame aang personally for blushing at her when she is really pretty, it is his crush and he is a boy in puberty. He loves her at her best looking times and messiest times (whether thats her emotional or physical state) and always shows it through words and other means of affection.

To end this needlessly long ask I agree with some of what u said but i wanted to add my own thoughts because i couldn’t get myself to agree on others. Sorry for any spelling or grammatical mistakes!

I want to say right away: no one is obliged to agree with me for the simple reason that each of us has his own interpretation of this series. It's too ambiguous to have only one true reading, and therefore the difference in points of view complements each other. It's IMPORTANT for us to have different opinions and help each other see different sides of interpretation :3

The phrase itself from the series is wonderfully suitable here, I can’t say it better:

It is important to draw wisdom from many different places. If we take it from only one place, it becomes rigid and stale. Understanding others, the other elements, and the other nations, will help you become whole... It can make you more powerful.

Regarding Katara’s fatigue, I said in hashtags here that it was only shown in two episodes: “The Desert” and “The Southern Raiders.” As you can see, @leanniera gave a few more examples, and I just want to leave them on my wall as part of the theme.

While Farah was always my favorite character by far, I was also very interested in the golden trio, Rosalind and Andreas as well. Their past, their personalities, the relationships between all of them (and between Sky and his 2 dads) were fascinating to me.

Season 2 didn't really deliver on those fronts; I never let myself forget that the adults were not the focus of the show but I'd say they still had a fair amount of screentime in s1, and what we got of them was very good. S2 was focused on the teens a lot more than s1 imo and it's a pity because the older characters had a lot of potential. Maybe they didn't have enough time to explore them while trying to tell the story, after all 7 episodes isn't much, but I'm still sad about it.

Random thoughts and takeaways after just finishing the season:

Ben: I expected him to do Rosalind's bidding for the sake of his kids but something about the way he alerted her of Saul being at the school felt weird to me. IIRC Roz didn't know that Saul was there at all, could he have gotten in and out without her knowing if it wasn't for Ben? Did Ben help Saul get inside the school just to turn him over to Roz? It felt more like a betrayal than a situation where Ben had no choice but it also seemed like Saul understood 🤷🏻‍♀️ and then Ben left, even though it meant leaving Terra behind with a headmistress he'd been trying to protect her from.

Andreas: he was as much of an asshole as I thought he'd be lol. Dissapointed we didn't see a confrontation between him and Saul. I saw people theorizing Sky would kill his dad in s2, maybe in a fit of rage, maybe to protect Silva, maybe because mind control was involved... they were right for the most part 😂 I didn't feel like much happened between Andreas and Sky before they killed Andreas off. Sky said a couple of times that he was getting somewhere with his dad but all I saw was a proud look ONCE and that was it. Andreas definitely cared for Beatrix, but he seemed to have no interest in Sky. I think he knew the people of Aster Dell were BW but maybe he thought it wouldn't make a difference if he told Saul because he'd still try to stop Roz. Was Bea really from AD? Or did Andreas lie to her about it?

Rosalind: so she was a total zealot trying to start a war with the BW by stealing the Dragon Flame and destroying AD. I liked this Rosalind more than s1 Roz, idk if it was the writing or the actress but it worked better for me. The scene in front of Andreas' grave was interesting and at first I thought she really cared for him but by the end of the scene I had the impression she cared in the way she would for a possesion, something that was of use to her. And was obviously sorry when she lost it before she was done with it, which is how she feels about Bloom. It was a shock to see her die so soon, but I loved that Luna used her death to justify going to war and getting people to agree with it. There's probably more to say about her but after 7 hours of staring at a screen, is all I can remember now

Saul: funnily enough this is how the show disappointed me the most I think? He just didn't feel like an actual character to me. He's the only one of the adults who is still alive and around at the end but he feels almost 2dimensional. He wasn't allowed to react to anything or it felt a bit superficial. I was laughing by the end of the season: 1) no resolution with Andreas, 2) loved the conflict with Sky but it was kind of forgotten after Andreas' death (it would've been nice to see the immediate aftermath of that for Saul and Sky) and the one scene where they discuss it Saul says some things that sounded weird, but I can't explain why, 3) Saul and Farah seemed close in s1 and yet if you told me that s2 Saul didn't know her I'd have believed it. It was hilarious to see that Saul never asked about her, probably thought she was actually on the run, didn't seem slightly concerned that Sebastian might be telling the truth about her death, etc. I love silrah no matter the nature of their relationship so maybe I'm biased? it seems Bloom told him she saw Farah again, yet it didn't seem to affect him at all. He seems unaffected after losing both Andreas and Farah. I guess it was weird to see him like that all season, almost like he was going through the motions.

Farah: I was fully prepared for anything the writers decided to do with her, so I'm not surprised. I thought I might feel sad but it actually felt like a hole opened up in my chest and sucked in all emotions. So I guess it's a good thing in a way but it also feels empty. The way she died just leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, it was really stupid. While I agree that the rules of life and death can't be broken at all or at least not without consequences, this show is not known for making sensible choices in terms of storytelling, but they had to pick this hill to die on 🙄 I'd have happily waited until s3 to bring her back if it meant she could stay but whatever. There's also the possibility that Eve couldn't or didn't want to come back.

I'm kind of mad that they gave us these characters and then took them away like this but I've always enjoyed fanfic and fan theories more than the show itself anyway. This is what I get for getting attached to the adult (side) characters on a show about teenagers 🤦🏻‍♀️
