I Really Needed This

“Okay sounds perfect. Thank you Namjoon.”, you said before hanging up the phone. The two of you were finalizing your plan. You wanted to set up a relaxing evening for your boyfriend Jungkook. Even though he tried to hide it, you knew he was overwhelmed and stressed and you wanted to make him feel better. Tomorrow Namjoon was going to distract him for a few hours with the suggestion to work on some music so that you could get things in place. You got ready for bed and placed a kiss on Jungkook’s cheek before sliding in under the covers.

The next morning you were sitting in the kitchen when Jungkook came in looking like something was definitely on his mind. “Something wrong babe?”, you asked even though you already knew. He sighed, “Umm well Namjoon just asked me to come to the studio for a few hours. I know today is supposed to be our day Y/N. I feel terrible. I can just tell him no.” You smiled, “I understand Kookie. It’s really okay. It’ll just be a few hours and then we can spend the rest of the day together.” He still looked unsure but nodded and gave you a kiss before heading towards the door. “Don’t work too hard.”, you said trying to hide a smile behind your coffee mug.

“What’s going on with you? You’ve been really distracted.”, Namjoon asked Jungkook. Running his hands over his face Jungkook replied, “I’ve just been so stressed. I feel like I’m ignoring Y/N and I’m starting to wonder if maybe we’re drifting apart.” Namjoon knowing what you’re currently planning at home is a little taken back. “Why would you think that? Y/N loves you so much.”, he asks. “I’m not home a lot and when I am I’m so tired and stressed so I know I’ve been short with her. The last couple weeks she keeps making phone calls that she ends as soon as I walk into the room and we we’re supposed to hang out today so I thought she’d be upset when I said I had to come here but she didn’t care at all. I’m starting to wonder if there’s someone else.” Namjoon almost chokes on the water he was taking a sip from. “Trust me. She’s not cheating on you.”, he says patting Jungkook’s shoulder.

While the two of them are finishing up at the studio you are at home putting the finishing touches on the perfect evening. Jungkook’s favorite meal is finishing up on the stove. You got the recipe directly from his mom. You have a big container of chocolate ice cream and all the toppings for dessert. Candles are lit throughout the apartment. Jungkook’s video game system is set up and ready so he can finally get some time to play and you’ve set up your own little nook next to him so you can still be together. All that’s left is to set up a hot bath for him and to get yourself ready.

Walking into your bedroom you straighten out the clothes you set out for him on the bed, his comfiest pair of sweats and his favorite hoodie. You get yourself changed into one of Jungkook’s favorite dresses. A black skater dress with a red bow on the waist. As you’re getting the bathtub ready you hear the front door open and close signaling that he was home.

Running downstairs you jump into his arms and wrap him in a hug. “You look very pretty Y/N.”, he says before giving you a kiss. “Thank you. I just wanted to dress up a little for you.”, you say while pulling him to the kitchen. He sits down and you place a plate of food in front of him encouraging him to eat. You smile up at him in adoration. He looks so happy and content. Once he’s done eating his dinner you make him the chocolate sundae of his dreams. When you set it in front of him he looks like a kid on Christmas. The two of you converse about your day while he playfully slaps your hand away when you try to get a bite of his sundae before he begins feeding you with his spoon.

After dinner you pull him to the living room, “Come on Kookie. I have a surprise for you.” Once there he sees the set up. His gaming system ready. All his favorite snacks and drinks are on the table. Big comfy pillows surround it. It looks like a great time. “I thought you deserved a night to relax and have fun. You can play and I have my own little set up next to you so I can keep myself occupied.”, you said squeezing his hand.

“Come on there’s more too.”, you said pulling him towards the bedroom. You show him his comfy clothes on the bed and then you pull him into the bathroom and show him the little set up in there. You start the water so it’s filling up the tub at the perfect temperature. “Go ahead and get in. Take your time and relax as long as you want. When you’re done I’ll be in the other room.”, you say starting to walk out but Jungkook grabs your wrist. “Y/N please stay with me.”, he says barely above a whisper.

You look up up at him and see that his eyes are glassy with tears threatening to fall. “Omg Jungkook what happened? Do you not like this?”, you ask concerned. He shakes his head the tears now freely falling, “No I love it Y/N. I just wasn’t expecting all of this and you have no idea how much this means to me.” You stand there and hug him for awhile trying to soothe him. Slowly you help him remove his clothes and he does the same with you. The two of you get in the warm tub instantly relaxing. You can still hear Jungkook sniffling behind you. You turn to face him, “Kookie why are you still so upset? I just wanted to do something nice and help you relax.” He nods his head and chuckles, “I know. I’ve just been so stressed out and I know we haven’t been spending a lot of time together. I was worried you had found someone else. Especially after this morning when you didn’t stop me from going to the studio.”

Giving him a kiss you wipe the few tears still sitting on his cheeks, “Aww babe there will never be anyone else. I promise. I didn’t stop you because I had asked Namjoon to distract you for a few hours. I knew he was going to ask you to do that.” He leaned into your embrace taking in the comfort from you.

The two of you soak in the warmth for a little while longer before deciding to get dressed. You help Jungkook into his comfy clothes and you throw on some pajamas yourself. Grabbing his hand you go to pull him to the living room but he stops you. Instead of following he picks you up bridal style and walks over to the bed gently laying you down before climbing in next to you pulling the blanket over you both. “Kookie what about playing video games?”, you ask.

Jungkook nuzzles his face in closer to your neck while wrapping himself around you,“Maybe later. I’d rather be doing this right now.” You smile at the little koala currently clinging to you. The two of you just lay there basking in each others comfort when you slowly start to drift off. Just before you finally fall asleep you hear Jungkook whisper, “I really needed this. I love you Y/N.” You smile before kissing his forehead, “I love you too Jungkook.”

Do you have any headcanons for dynamics between Ortho and the other first years?

Sorry for the late reply, Anon! I really love it when Ortho is grouped with the first years, I am still so happy that he is officially a student now lol

Here are some thoughts…

Ace performs card tricks for Ortho. Well, he does it for everyone whenever he feels like it, but Ortho is always very excited for those; but he kind of sees them as puzzles, as if he has to figure out how the trick works. Ace thinks it’s weird… still, he likes having an invested audience, so he doesn’t really mind. Ace is also quite curious about Ortho, his search system, his relationship with Idia, his purity (does he have one), so he asks a lot of questions, but Ortho just says it’s a “se~cret” most of the times. Oh, and Ortho is extremely good at seeing through Ace’s tricks.

Ortho helps Deuce out with homework sometimes! And if they are in the same classroom for some reason, he’ll be happy to give him a hint or even a cheat sheet, although Deuce doesn’t really like those. Still, Ortho loves both being useful and having to be stealthy about this thing just so he doesn’t get yelled at by the teacher. This is such a fun experience to him… But also, he asked Deuce for help once too. He didn’t really need it, but he really enjoyed listening to Deuce’s poor explanation. They also talk about bikes a lot (with both Deuce and Epel).

Ortho is excited to get along with everyone, but Jack is still a bit confused about how he is supposed to feel about Ortho. He is pretty neutral about him, but Ortho was eager to find common ground with him, and it was jogging. Ortho doesn’t get to use his running gear a lot, so running with Jack is a great excuse to develop and upgrade the gear further + befriend Jack! They also talk about siblings, and it’s funny because while Jack talks about taking care of his younger siblings, Ortho talks about how he makes sure Idia doesn’t forget to eat…

Ortho hangs out with Epel quite regularly actually due to being so close to Vil and the Film Research club. Maybe it’s because of the fact that both of them are small and a bit childish, but he is the most playful and mischievous with Epel; he teases him, but they also have a lot of mutual “>:3c” moments. So sometimes Epel feels like he actually got himself a sibling, but then he blinks and suddenly Ortho acts like Vil’s perfect little assistant. Epel doesn’t get how he can do both, I guess it’s because he is an AI…. (not really, Epel)

Ortho and Sebek don’t really interact all that much, but Ortho is still as intrigued by him as by any other student. Finding common ground with him also turned out to be the most difficult… but he did listen to his ode for Malleus once! He was very patient and stoic, and Sebek has enough of understanding of an AI to think that Ortho wouldn’t mind him talking for like 4 hours. He was very satisfied because Idia’s younger brother was a much more pleasant person to talk to! Even though Ortho didn’t really say much… but he learned a lot that day (Idia immediately told Ortho to delete all this data, it’s useless noise lol)

Whenever Grim can’t see something because of his height, Ortho grabs him and flies higher so both of them could watch that thing they couldn’t see… a couple of shorties.

They have gaming tournaments pretty much regularly! You know, with the gaming system they got as a gift for Yuu and Grim. And things gets bloody because the boys are competitive, and Ortho is one of the most competitive ones. He doesn’t care that he is a computer, the fact that no one can beat him is just skill issue lol

Scaramouche takes out the outfit to wear for the first day and places it on his bed. He quickly goes to take shower to wash out the alcohol that’s still in his system.

The cold water hits his head and he begins to shampoo himself. Very quiet but relaxing. Scaramouche’s mind wanders to you. He wants the days to go by quick so he can see you again. A small smile makes his way to his lips. He kind of wished he was sober when talking to you but it is what it is.

Scaramouche takes the time to remember last night. He recalls the details you’ve told him and he feels more awkward. Scaramouche closes his eyes tight to try and remember more. Suddenly, he opens his eyes. A memory appeared before he threw up. “I love you.” Those words replayed in his head. ‘I…I told Yn I loved them.’

Scaramouche stands there in shock. How come yn didn’t tell him anything about it? Were they embarrassed? Scaramouche bit his lip. Did he mess up again? Was yn not ready? But he thought they were doing well. Maybe he was rushing it? Scaramouche sighs as he turns off the water and gets out the tub.

A knock on his door, “Scaramouche, hurry so we can go practice.” Venti says and Scaramouche responds with an ok.

Scaramouche dries himself, puts on his clothes, and checks himself out in the mirror so that he looks appropriate. Scaramouche leaves his room and heads to the practice room. The boys are all in a tour bus and yet, they’re forced to walk to the practice room. How pitiful. DCKZ are located far away so that they don’t “cheat.” Scaramouche yawns as he entered the room and it was rather tense. He can tell that there was something going on between Heizou and Kazuha. He didn’t say anything about it though.

Venti notices as well but he doesn’t have time for relationship problems. “Okay, so,” Venti gathers the boys attention and puts on their playlist from his phone. “We’ll start off with our latest song and make our way to the oldest.” They nod and begin the dance rehearsal. It’s early but there isn’t much they can do about it. Venti instructs them to keep them in check.

Listening to him, Scaramouche remembers what the manager said about how Venti isn’t a fit leader. Scaramouche calls bullshit. They continue to practice and Kazuha and Heizou are now focused. ‘What a relief.’ The rest thinks.

Suddenly, their manager walks in. She doesn’t say anything but watch them. They all seem on edge by this but Venti is unfazed. He continues to guide them with the manager watching. She claps her hands, “Stop.” They do and face her. “What’s wrong?” Venti asks. “What’s wrong?” She scoffs. “You’re sloppy. That’s what’s wrong.” She scowls but Venti doesn’t react. “Seriously, what is this?” She grabs his phone and scrolls through the songs. “Ma’am-“ “You really think you’re going to wow the audience in this order?! Like, seriously, no one cares about the old stuff!”

Venti frowns, “Of course they do! Our fans love it!” “Back then. This is the FUTURE! Not the past.” She throws his phone at him and he, thankfully, catches it. “Venti, you’re horrible at this! You can’t do anything right! How are the leader when you don’t know what’s good and what’s not?!” Venti looks at his phone to clean the screen. However, the manager did not like that. She sprints towards him and grabs onto his phone. “Hey-!” “Listen to me when I’m talking!” “I am!” She tries to take his phone off his hands but Venti is stronger than he looks.

The boys make there way towards them to stop. Kazuha and Aether grabs onto the manager with the three others help Venti. “Please let go!” Kazuha says. “Venti didn’t mean any harm!” “Let go of me! How dare you treat me like this!” She lets go but now she’s aiming at Kazuha. She grabs his arms and shakes him. “You think just because I’m mad at Venti doesn’t mean you’re safe!” Kazuha squirms and Heizou rushes to them. “What the fuck?! Let him go!” He grabs onto her coat and pulls on it. Scaramouche doesn’t know what to do. He starts to hyperventilate and covers his ears. Venti goes to his aid to help him calm down.

Aether pulls on her arm. “Please let him go! We’re sorry! We’ll do it your way!” The manager lets go of Kazuha and slaps Aether across his face. “Enough! You’re all such children!” She shouts and Aether grabs his cheek while Kazuha holds him. Something snapped in Xiao. In a blink of an eye, he pushes the manager and starts yelling at her. “YOU BITCH! AFTER EVERYTHING WE’VE DONE FOR YOU!”

“Xiao stop!” Venti yells but Xiao didn’t listen. The manager growls and grabs Xiaos shirt. “YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT!” Everything was blurry for Scaramouche. The shouting was overwhelming for him. Everyone else wished they couldn’t see it but it happened anyway.

Xiao was fighting with the manager, pulling her hair while she hit his face. Venti kept telling him to stop but he just wouldn’t. Aether finally composed himself and shouted, “Xiao, stop!” Xiao froze and looks straight at Aether, who was pleading with tearful eyes. Xiao opens his mouth but couldn’t speak as he was thrown to the ground, followed by a crack.

Everyone froze and it was quiet. Nobody moved. Nobody moved until Xiao started to scream. They all huddled around him minus their manager and Scaramouche. There eyes widen in shock and gasped. Xiao has broken his leg.

Xiao continues to scream and cry. Aether quickly kneels next to him as he begins to cry too. “Its going to be okay, Xiao!” He grabs his hands as Xiao continues to scream in agony. Venti shakes as he tries to calm him down. He turns to his manage, “Call an ambulance!” She snaps out of it then analyzed the situation. “Right.” She pulls out her phone as she dials the number. “Hello, one of my clients broke his leg.” Scaramouche crouches down in a corner as he continues to cover his ears. He hates loud noises.

Kazuha notices him and he walks up to him, kneeling down. “Scaramouche, everything’s going to be okay.” His voice cracked but he had to stay strong. Scaramouche looks at him without a word. He didn’t know what he was saying but he understood that Kazuha was trying to comfort him. “I…” His voice his quiet and hoarse. “I want my mom…” Kazuha didn’t answer but pulled him into a hug. Scaramouche squeezes his eyes shut. “I want my mom.”

On the 15th of November 2022, my kids and my husband came to Peru for a holiday to visit our family because we have been living overseas in Australia for about 14 years (we are Australian citizens), and on that holiday, my husband and I were having a lot of problems, and thinking of possibly splitting up, he didn’t take it well, but we decided to “stay together” until we returned to Australia and see how we can sort things out. But when he knew we would end up splitting up, he didn’t want us to go back. When we were supposed to go back to Australia on the 15th of February 2023, while we were checking in at the airport my husband said that if we leave to Australia he wouldn’t go with us, grabbed his bags and abandoned me and my kids at the airport alone. I entered into a panic mode and didn’t know what to do. Eventually me and my kids never went back because we weren’t sure how we were going to make it without him since he was the one who worked, and I stayed home to take care of the kids. He ended up leaving to Australia without us and from that moment on, he started accusing me of cheating on him, made false reports in Peru and made me spend a night in a jail cell, he took my name off every property we owned in Peru and made sure I received no money. So since that moment I haven’t been able to get money because I can’t find a job and I have to kids I have to take care of. He only gives a small amount of money from child support but that’s only because I had to file a report on him. Life is very tough over in Peru and I just want to go back with my kids so I can give them a better life and so they can study, because my ex husband doesn’t want to pay for my daughters university here in Peru or for my sons school. Thanks to god I’ve been able to get my son into school but I don’t have enough money to get all his school supplies or get my daughter into university. He doesn’t want to give me any other money and we are struggling here. We really need your help, my kids deserve a better life and a good education system, they deserve to go back to their home where they used to live. Please help us go back, we are struggling so much here

Random and non cohesive HB thoughts, particularly season 2:

I don’t condone or support Stella’s actions, but I am very disappointed in how she is written. Im fine with her being a villain, and I’ll even let a lack of a backstory slide! My main issues with Stella are:

A) Being 1 dimensional. Please, give her traits outside of “bitch” and “angry at Stolas”. The majority of the fan base already is (somehow) in support of Stolitz, you don’t need another prop to keep your ship going. (subpoint to a): Also, not a fan of the “wife finds out that her husband is queer” trope, but whatever, she is a villain. Its pretty fucking basic though.

B) Her lines. My fucking gosh, her lines are so fucking flat and weightless. You’d think that something an abuser says would stick and sound intimidating, but no. We get “I LiKe ToRmEnTiNg YoU”. For fucks sake, what was that?! As someone who grew up with an abusive mother, I can confidently say that no one will say that. Its like they didnt respect their ADULT audience enough to figure things out and felt they had to have a giant ass neon sign screaming

“LOOK HERE, THIS IS ABUSIVE, SHE SAID SHE LIKES HURTING HIM! A-B-U-S-E! NOW GO AND FORGET ABOUT ANY TERRIBLY TOXIC THINGS STOLAS OR BLITZO HAVE DONE”

Clearly the show is meant for adult audiences. We don’t need to be told what is and isn’t abuse. Why not do a little something called “show vs tell”? Some alright examples they have previously done are the portraits usually having just Stolas and Octavia, or a pissed Stella. Or seeing how she threw a fucking imp butler across the room.

I got a bit off topic, but here are some ways id probably write her:

A narcissist. To the outside world, she is friendly Stella, who just likes to party and smile. She has a perfect family, and everyone loves her. But under the surface, in order to feel superior she puts Stolas down constantly, through verbal abuse and perhaps some physical. Her love for Octavia is conditional, she is only pleased as long as everyone is doing everything to her command. All this possibly stems from an inferiority complex that she desperately covers through a high ego, false confidence and making sure others feel lesser to her.

Some possible lines?:

“You are nothing without me. You think you can make it on your own without me? You cant even take care of Octavia, what makes you think you can handle yourself”

“You would choose a lowly imp over me? I guess I shouldn’t have expected more from someone as low as you”

“You don’t even deserve to have me, consider yourself lucky that I am willing to stay”

“You look so damn stupid like that, singing in your self pity. Had you stuck with me, you wouldn’t have been in that position.” That or someone else mentioned Blitzo and Stella being childhood friends, her being arranged with Stolas, and then having the cheating incident

whoever had that idea is a genius.

C: Why is her design so damn good? I love fancy pigeons and they made her a fancy pigeon. (this isn’t a complaint but a thought)

Moving on from Stella, lets get to S2 E2…

I was so excited to have an episode where it wasn’t the Stolitz shipping show. I got my hopes too high. The one positive thing Ill say is that I enjoyed the adoption flashback. Maybe I read too much into it but it feels kind of like a commentary in how shitty the adoption system is, especially to teenagers. Any kid really, as they’re treated like literal dogs, and then kicked out on the street.

Back to me complaining about shit:

For one, why did we spend so much fucking tome in that stupid ass sitcom? If Stolas is such a caring dad, shouldn’t he just leave and look for Octavia? So much character growth could have happened in that time.

I know that Loona didn’t just tell Octavia to just deal with her dad neglecting her just because “he’s trying”. Its HIS responsibility as a parent to take care of his kid, and Octavia has every right to be upset st him and her circumstances. Her parents have been unstable, but after a divorce, even more so. Her dad has straight up ignored her, in favor of arguing with Stella. She did nothing wrong and has nothing to apologize for. I got so excited when Stolas started to apologize, but then Octavia apologized.

Did I mention that there was 4 minutes of Octavia and Loona together at most? Despite the thumbnail? Yeah, that blowed.

Honestly the only reason I keep up anymore is because of the animation and the weak dying hope that it’ll get better.

EDIT: So Imma randomly add a brainbarf of thoughts here too, because I do not feel like organizing shit. My brain's thoughts just expand everywhere, so bare with me.

Another reason why Stella's abuse doesn't really land is because Stolas just... doesn't seem afraid of her at all? For someone who claims to love tormenting someone, she sure is doing a shitty job at it. The way that Stolas would just have the balls (or cloaca ig) to keep going out using Blitz, worry free despite his wife doesn't give the vibes of "Victim of Domestic violence, verbal and physical abuse" to me.

To continue on why her abuse doesn't land, it has to do with the nature of this show and how it portrays stuff. It gets very confusing. Loona assaulting Blitz, Blitz and Asmodeus (on separate occasions) touching Moxie's groin area (without consent) and Multiple characters using slurs against Moxie is supposedly "funny".

Personally I don't find it humorous, but I do get somewhat jaded and desensitized to stuff like that happening. Not to say that it's acceptable behavior, but you do kind of get used to it and take it a little less seriously in the context. In S1E2 Stella is seen screaming and throwing shit around. This *can* be seen as portrayal of abuse, but given that many characters do similar shit it can also be seen as another unfunny attempt at humor.

Fast forward to season 2, if you've lasted that long you should expect some edgy shit like that to be written in a way that tries to excuse it. But all of a sudden, we get "Actually, abuse is bad. Feel bad for Stolas because he is abused by his wife. Yeah, we constantly make our characters do abusive things too, but it's funny when they do it, just ignore it and feel bad for Sad Gay Owl Man."

What? The fuck? Is the deal with powers, especially human disguises? Initially I thought that maybe only Succubi and Incubi, as well has hellhounds had the power because some hellborns are more powerful than others. How would that work if Hellhounds are below Imps in the hierarchy though? By that logic, shouldn't Imps also get that power? So that idea doesn't work. I don't fucking know why or how any of this works. Theres no storybuilding or explanation for it. For something that appears so often, I think there should be. The purpose of a human disguise is to blend in among the human world, so I can see Succubi/Incubi having that power because I'd assume they're some of the only demons allowed to go to the human world. I wouldn't know why a hellhound would come to Earth, but I guess they just have the power too?

Speaking of rules about demons on Earth that weren't explained!

Stolas is able to summon himself in some big scary owl demon form without his book ANYWHERE near him in "Truth Seekers". Yet in S2E2 he can only conjure up a poorly designed human form because now his powers are attached to the book? HUH?! Where is the consistency?

Also, given that IMP is big enough to get a commercial, how have they not gotten in trouble for breaking what I assume is one of hell's only rules? We know that they aren't supposed to be there, and yet this seems to have no consequence? Having them have to try and fly below the radar in hell would raise stakes a lot more imo.

But whatever, fuck the rules, because there are none!

Unrelated rambles, but still kind of relevant and similar? I just don't want to make a separate post.

I don't like Andrealphus' design. It's way too bright and saturated and honestly has my eyes strain a lot, despite not being red. I kinda wanna redesign him. Also I feel like he's gonna be yet another gay stereotype, which is always fun to have /s.

Lucifer's design is underwhelming. Not necessarly because the design is bad on its own, but because of two things:

A) Too many characters look like that. We have too many skinny white Tumblr Sexyman Twinks. We have too many characters with that copy paste smile. Too many characters in suits. He just doesn't stand out. This leads me to my next point.

B) His design doesn't say "Lucifer, King and Ruler of Hell, Fallen Angel". It says "Generic Vivziepop Snarky Guy with a quirky interest". BEFORE SOME OF YALL START SAYING "B-but ackshually he pwobably haz a more dwemwonic fowm 🤓", respectfully, no. I feel that the leader of hell should have a default design that commands some kind of respect out of fear, it doesn't have to be crazy, but it should be intimidating, and stand out. What kind of king just blends into a crowd of his own people? Especially in a fantasy? This is fiction, and there is no reason to hold back and not try something new. In fact, 90% of the characters being skinny could actually be used as an advantage, because then you could just make Lucifer's bodyshape different from the default and he'd already stand out much more.

QSMP Elections

(Disclaimer, I am a Slimecicle main for the most part, I do watch other povs)

It’s interesting seeing everyone argue about what is the best policy but calling q!BBH, Gegg and q!Baghera naive for believing in revolution as opposed to fixing the system from the inside is failing to consider recent ideology promoted in leftist circles of the US about Law Enforcement. From a US perspective the idea of fixing the system from the inside could seem naive. If everyone in the federation is corrupt how could a single person fix the damage in a more effective way than a council? Also, it is very easy to point out the lack of official policies planned by Gegg, q!Baghera and q!BBH but this fails to account for the fact they (at least q!Baghera and q!BBH) only want things that people agree on. Say there was a mod they wanted to add but someone else doesn’t, they don’t know that until the council is assembled so that everyone can voice their concerns hence they can only say things they might do if agreed by the council, not what they definitely will do. For example, invisible armour (I don’t know what exact mod q!Cellbit is suggesting) might not be supported by people who enjoy duels like the q!Quackity and q!Slime one at the funeral as it gives a greater opportunity to cheat during these kind of duels. However it is the job of the candidates to make these kind of points during the debates to prevent any confusion so them not explaining a reason for not promoting a lot of their own ideas is a flaw.

Opinions on the candidates more specifically below:

Gegg/q!Slime has said that he thinks the election is rigged, which is likely a factor in him campaigning for revolution. He is also, from a meta perspective, highly likely to die and has expressed a desire to be a martyr. So him promoting this ideology allows him to continue lore if he dies too early in the electoral process. I love him as a funny little guy; even if he will likely die before the voting. Also, his stuff about burning everything is actually suspicious and I hope if he is elected he immediately becomes corrupt. If he doesn’t die and I can vote. I will probably vote for him.

I genuinely love the duo of q!Cellbit and q!Forever and I think they have a lot of great ideas, q!Cellbit acting as a shield for q!Forever is a genius strategy and they both care so much about this server and the people and eggs on it. But I don’t know why they necessarily think this is a good idea since q!Cellbit and q!Felps got close to the Federation and ended up kidnapped. Although, from a Meta perspective q!Forever is for sure a great choice. He greatly cares about the people on the server, he does so much for the community and is overall a great guy. But he also someone I don’t want anything bad to happen to. Richas has been through way too much at this point.

When thinking about q!BBH he is a great guy and friend to most of the server. I support the sharing of power. But there is one thing that worries me, this is probably a trap and q!Bad is a single parent. If this goes wrong, it is very much a concern for Dapper. But this would also be very angsty and I do like angst in moderation.

On q!Baghera, I think she is a great pick and would be a good choice. The council seems like a good idea and, much like Forever, Cellbit and BBH, she is on the server a lot and does a lot of RP. Something bad happening to her would be very angsty and there are other parents who can take care of Pomme if she ends up taken. I do think she needs to ask more people what they want if she hasn’t already due to her campaign being rooted in being a voice for the people.

I think q!Mike would also be a great choice from a Meta perspective and a lore perspective. Tazercraft having an increased access to things they might want to add to improve the server and make new events is genuinely great. It would be interesting to see how q!Mike would implement Communist ideology as well. His roleplaying is funny and I think if they went with a corruption arc he would be quite good at it. (I know I used the argument that Richas has been through enough, but I think q!Mike is more likely to be a corruption arc and do think what the Federation does with the winner will depend of which candidate wins, probably)

I think, taking into account that this whole thing is likely some kind of trap and/or rigged, q!Etoiles might actually be a good choice. He is strong and has a great desire to protect others. If this was some kind of trap then it would be greatly dramatic to have one of the strongest players be taken out or impressive to see him fight to escape. He also cares deeply about the other players and I do think he would give other players a voice while also, as president, being a target. I do think that whoever the president is (if not ElQuackity) will be a target for something.

When it comes to q!Foolish, I think he is the best choice if you want a revolution. He seems to be vaguely corrupt already and even tried to assassinate Gegg. It would be an interesting and funny arc but there would be the looming threat of q!Vegetta so the actual damage this could do might be higher than we might expect. He is also silly and already likes the Federation (or at least pretends too); so we might get funny Federation employee and q!Foolish interactions.

I don’t know a lot about q!Felps and his policies outside of the power of pasta (if I am remembering correctly) because he didn’t really get to speak much and my Wifi is pretty bad. I would love to hear more about him though and I think it would be funny if he won. I do really love pasta.

I do not want ElQuackity to win. It would probably be interesting lore wise. It would also likely lead to a revolution arc but he has less allies in terms of server members so it would be less conflict than if a revolution occurred under another candidate. Although, he is the closest to a guaranteed one if a revolution is a must.

Finished season 3 of 9-1-1! What an incredible season. I love how easy it is to love the characters in the 118. So much character growth for my favs :’)

Some notes & observations:

- Chim is SUCH a good character 😭 the halloween episode this season was one of my favorites because of how lighthearted it felt compared to other eps.

- Abby coming back in the last episode made me hurt so bad for Buck. I beg your finest pardon- she felt like if she came back for him, she’d go back to being what she was before? That’s such a cop-out excuse. I hated that. I get that she needed to get out of there, but never communicating with Buck about how she felt is horrible and he did NOT deserve that. Good riddance. (no forgiveness to the woman who made him feel unworthy and bad)

- The tsunami arc was SO GOOD. Deeply impressed by it, and have been filed under “favorite episodes” (an ever changing list atm)

- Buck and Eddie did reach the “best friendism” I was looking forward to in season 2, but just like season 2, there is so much queer coding in their friendship. There’s little moments where they’ll say/do something for each other that feels so romantic, and it makes it difficult to look at their friendship as the platonic one it was supposedly intended to be.

- continuation of the last point : when Eddie got trapped in the well system & was dreaming of Christopher (which ultimately gave him the motivation to keep going and survive…chef kiss for that), there was A WHOLE LOTTA BUCK in that montage!! It’s almost like Buck is coparenting his child! Anyway.

- I’m not a huge fan of cops, and this season kind of highlighted many of my reasons. I really like Athena and how she interacts and supports other characters, but her attitude towards the general public feels icky to me sometimes. Michael and her kids nearly getting hate-crimed was awful and made me so sick, but the way she reacted to it was so ????. It kind of tainted her character a little bit for me. (although her arc at the end with the rapist was really sad and I gained a bunch of respect back for her wanting to take care of that)

- Maddie + Chim are a top tier couple, and MADDIE IS PREGNANT?!? what???? I’ve seen several spoilers for this show but I knew nothing about this arc!! Nada! So I am very much looking forward to seeing what happens there 👀

- I don’t know if I was imagining it, but I felt like a lot of the emergencies that happened this season felt very personal to the 118. More so than the last two seasons.

- I wish Bobby was my dad :(

- And on my last point, I fucking adore Hen and Karen. I want more of their story. Hen is such a beautiful character to me, and I’ve loved seeing her growth. Her relationship with Karen is incredible too (which I’m glad about, the cheating storyline in S1 was awful). I want more of my mother lesbians ❤️

I’ve heard from several of you, as well as my lovely sister-in-law, that season four is…exciting…so wish me luck ✋🏼

Thai QL Favorites Tag Game

Tagged by @telomeke and @chickenstrangers - thank you for inviting me to play! I had to keep reminding myself this is for Thai shows only, because I kept trying to include Japanese bls, my beloveds. But I got it now and I wrote way too much, as I am wont to do. :)))

Favorite Thai QL: I was just talking with @waitmyturtles about the distinction between favorite and best in comparing two major Thai bls–I Told Sunset About You and Bad Buddy. For me, ITSAY is objectively the best Thai bl ever made, in terms of its quality, fidelity to its vision, and execution of its story and themes. But Bad Buddy is my favorite. It is not without its flaws, but it is peak storytelling and it does my absolute favorite thing in any romance–it gets the couple together early in the story and lets me live in their relationship and see how they would navigate the many challenges coming their way while protecting their relationship. I’m not sure any other Thai ql drama will ever top it for me (but please do keep trying, Thailand).

Favorite pairing: *steps on soap box, taps mic* The branded pairing system in Thai ql, while good for marketing and (sometimes) for actor relationships/chemistry and job security, is a hindrance to art and severely limits the storytelling capabilities of Thai dramas. I am not opposed to pairs who choose it working together across multiple projects, but I absolutely hate the real person shipping culture it encourages and the restrictions it places on some actors and productions. I have seen some positive signs of a loosening around these restrictions–like Earth and Mix both being allowed to play intimate scenes with other actors in Moonlight Chicken–but it still prevents actors from having more freedom to try different projects and often results in poor casting choices because everything has to be worked around a set pair instead of a more organic casting process.

Ahem. All of that said, I think if I had to name a pair I like best and am most comfortable with, it would be Off and Gun. They work well together, their shows only get better over time, they don’t do the performative shit where they pretend they might be dating, and they seem to have a strong friendship and comfortable dynamic that insulates them somewhat from the worst of the shipper nonsense. I am very much looking forward to Cooking Crush.

Most underrated actor: Fluke Pusit. If The Warp Effect and A Boss and a Babe didn’t convince GMMTV that this man is ready to headline his own drama, I don’t know what will!

Favorite main character: Teh, I Told Sunset About You and I Promised You the Moon. Yes, both shows, and before you all come yell at me: I SAID WHAT I SAID. As I’ve mentioned before, Teh is a masterpiece of mess. He loves deeply and obsessively, he is passionate and mercurial in the extreme, and he is just as likely to crush you as he is to make your heart soar. In the category of emotional intensity he is unbeatable. He is fascinating to watch, and he is both infuriating and entirely legible, because every thought, feeling, and impulse are right there on his sleeve for you to see. He’s a legendary character crafted by brilliant writers and portrayed by one of the most talented young actors in Thailand, and I love him!

Favorite side character: I am cheating and naming two: our favorite gay uncles Cheep and Dej from My Ride. I know @bengiyo feels me on this one. I love their relationship dynamic where they are constantly (lovingly) nagging at each other, I love the way they care for Mork, I love the delight they take in raising and guiding baby gays, and I even love their bad flashback wigs.

Favorite scene in a QL: Teh and Oh-aew, on the floor, end of episode 3 of ITSAY. You know the one. I will never forget the raw intensity of that scene or the way I literally stopped breathing the first time I saw it. Holy shit. Honorable mention to Bad Buddy rooftop kiss, but I figure almost everyone else is going to talk about that one.

Favorite line in a QL: Ya know, when I think about great lines of dialogue, my mind invariably goes to Japanese and Korean dramas. I think that’s mostly because of my own language limitations and translation issues - Thai to English is tough and we get a lot of awkward subs as a result. But one I will always remember is from Love Sick, when Noh says to Phun: “It’s a terrible feeling, not knowing where the line between us is, isn’t it?”

Because woof, yes Noh it is!

Most anticipated QL (& why): Joining the chorus for Only Friends, because I usually love Jojo’s shows and I am here for a good time. I am also really happy we’re finally getting some Thai historicals, and am very much hoping I Feel You Linger in the Air will be great.

Healthiest relationship in a QL: This is a tough one because these are romance dramas, which means most of the romances are unhealthy by design, because that’s what the plot is about! You mostly see healthy relationships in the sides who are there to impart their wisdom (like Three and Zo in A Boss and a Babe). I will use this excuse to give a shout out to Patts from La Pluie, however, for modeling honest communication through most of the show (which was not reciprocated, which is what made the relationship unhealthy and led to the big conflict). Listen to La Pluie and communicate with your partners, fam!

Most toxic relationship in a QL: I don’t know if it’s the most toxic, but I was just talking to @bengiyo @neuroticbookworm and @wen-kexing-apologist about how much I hate the relationship dynamic that @absolutebl calls “Tom and Jerry.” This is where one person relentlessly chases the other as they vocally resist, often via negging and bullying. This came up in our My Ride discussion about Toy and Boss, and it’s also the dynamic of the main couple in My Engineer, which is why I don’t really like that drama despite Ram and King. I HATE THE TOM AND JERRY DYNAMIC SO MUCH. I don’t think it’s cute, I don’t think it’s funny, and I don’t root for these couples.

Guilty pleasure series: I don’t feel guilty about my pleasures. :)

Most underrated series: Make it Right. I finally watched this recently thanks to @waitmyturtles and @bengiyo and it was so much better than I expected. I have written about both seasons and how much joy I got out of my watch despite the undeniable messiness of the show. This one deserves more respect as a Thai bl legacy show that paved the way for many others.

Ive Reading - July Edition

Note: Please keep in mind that you have to read this with a grain of salt. This is simply info I got on my reading, it doesn’t mean I am 100% right. Have fun !

Yunjin

Yunjin is currently in a relationship. They have been dating for three months now (a 4th gen idol), but they know each other since 7 months ago. Despite everything going very well for her, I still feel that this person has a strong influence over her life. Probably because it’s either her twin flame or a very strong soulmate. She is happy but their relationship need to be careful so it doesn’t become toxic

Recently she got into a heavy argument with a member of her group (and even staff) concerning their group work. Yunjin feels like she has been working her butt off but she isn’t being payed fairly compared to others. Some of her opportunities were taken back after these arguments.

Physical Health: She is overly okay Mental Health: She needs to adapt herself to her own emotional rhythm. She feels angry a lot lately and too easily; she also has a lot of inner doubts and she feels very lonely at times. She needs to take care of her mental health.

So Rei isn’t in a relationship however she sees someone often. They aren’t together because this person does not wish to have anything serious with her. They are a 3rd gen idol who isn’t in their group anymore (disband), and he isn’t very interested on her romantically. Their relationship doesn’t seem to be physical either, more like company. However she interprets his feelings wrongly. Their relationship is quiet discreet but despite not being official she is starting to get very dependent of this person

Her career seems to go very well, she will have the opportunity to write her own verses, her own songs, or anything related to that creative part of her. She is very happy with how things are right now

Physical Health: there’s definite something wrong with her body and physical health, something related to her bones, the spleen. The bones are also related to her knees, joints and ligaments in general. She has been losing a lot of her lately. Mental Health: She is overall okay but she thinks a lot about the difficulties she had when she was younger

Wonyoung`

Her history is just so complicated and I will try to sum up this. Basically she hasn’t the right to date anyone. There’s someone in the company that does whatever they want of her. Anyway, she is young, she fell in love, she got with someone secretly (non idol). However this higher up threaten this person, so her lover have broken her heart by cheating on her so she would break up (it’s like a whole drama ?). Anyway, things happened recently

Again, this higher up is very present in her life and he is the one giving everything to her. I see a lot of opportunities with her career and things are starting now. She has been destined to be very big and everything in her career path show success

Physical Health: she needs to be careful with her lungs and her breathing system because she has been having some difficulties in that area Mental Health: She is actually stronger than what she looks. It’s clear that she isn’t okay, but she works so much on herself to be a better person

Liz

Liz isn’t in a relationship at the moment but she had an interest on someone who is divorced. However this person won’t give her any opportunity due to their age gape, and simply because this person already has a life and a family set. She is a little disappointed, but it shall pass since she has other crushes.

I see that her career is going well, she knows what she has to do to achieve success, there’s new things coming for her but she needs to be careful how she will handle things in public so it doesn’t backfire to her

Physical Health: X Mental Health: X nothing either only that she has a good intuition at the moment

Leeseo

I didn’t really got anything about her love life, she is single and it shall stay that way at the moment. Leeseo is someone very sure of herself, she isn’t interested to open her heart at the moment and focus on her career only

There’s something that came to her, but Leeseo is still very immature to take care of things herself. She lacks strategy and understanding. I feel like sometimes she regrets being an idol but now she dreams big and she knows she has to work a lt and put order in her career

Physical Health: There’s something wrong going with her sexual system (it could be urinaty problems or her colon) There’s high changes it’s linked with her hormones. Mental Health: she is very vulnerable at the moment, she feels tired

Sure, you don’t have to shave, wear makeup, have long hair, or play the damsel because you’re nonbinary/trans, but what about the rest of the women you try so desperately to leave behind? And what if they all ceased to do those things? If societally imposed femininity ceased to exist, so would your perception of your own lack thereof by comparison. If you no longer were perceived as fundamentally incorrect as a women for simply existing as you are, wouldn’t it truly alleviate the discomfort caused by the pressure to conform? If womanhood signifies nothing besides biological sex, would that not open the door of possibility to everything you felt you couldn’t do or be, as a woman? Or is it that you need your snowflake complex so badly that you want other women to remain hindered and oppressed just so you can remain unique for feeling like you have cheated the system ? Worth considering.

What are you talking about?? Do you think I didn't consider any of that before I started transitioning? Do you think I stumbled drunk into a gender clinic on a whim and got injected with T without informed consent??

Being trans is not "leaving anyone behind".

If all women everywhere stopped doing feminine things, I would still be trans. I'm not trans because I "don't like feminine things" - feminine trans men exist! I'm trans because I'm trans.

No, it would not, because my discomfort doesn't just stem from a "pressure to conform" to femininity. My discomfort is a physical desire to masculinize my body. I would not be happy to "just be female" in a world with no gender indicators, because that wouldn't involve physical transition, which is what I desire.

I have in fact lived in a world with very few social gender indicators: I was in the Navy. Everyone wears the same uniform, everyone performs the same jobs. The Navy was actually a really important step in me acknowledging I was actually trans. I got to experience the relief of no longer having the social expectations of being a woman, and realized... I wanted more.

No, because again, I'm trans, and although I am female, I want to change my body to be more male. That's why I'm taking testosterone.

That's a fundamental aspect of being trans for me specifically. It's not just social expectations, it is my physical body I want to change. And it HAS changed! And I love it! I love my deeper voice, I love my facial hair and body hair, I love my bottom growth.

Uh, trans men can still be feminists, you realize that right? Like, I was a feminist before I transitioned and I'm still a feminist. Testosterone does not erase feminism from your brain.

Trans men are affected by misogyny, too, by the way. I am a feminist because I care about women (both cis and trans women) and because feminism helps me personally. Liberation for all women (both cis and trans) and all AFAB people is something I care about deeply. Trans men are very much in the same boat as cis women when it comes to needing feminism.

I didn't "escape misogyny" by transitioning - I'm still affected by it. Trans men are affected both socially in the way transphobes treat us like "stupid little girls who haven't considered things deeply enough", and through medical misogyny with limited access to abortion, birth control, and pap smears.

Oh and lastly, cis women have privilege over trans men. Trans men cannot gain male privilege. I've transitioned into a more oppressed place than I was as a cis women.

I haven't cheated the system, because I didn't gain privilege by doing this.

Yes, You Can Have Healing Potions in Your Novels

There is a thought that adding healing potions into your novel is cheating in a way. They say it removes the stakes by giving your character a quick fix.

I am here to argue against that. No, I am not saying you have to put healing potions in your novels, only that you should be able to if you want to.

One of the most common mistakes in fantasy novels is when the writer forgets about a characters injuries. The character gets beat up, but a scene or two later and they are walking normally again. If this is a problem you often face, introducing a healer or potions into your novels could help protect you from the embarrassment of forgetting.

To help get you started if this is the path you choose, here are some suggestions to think of, and some random ideas you are free to use.

1. Make them hard to get.

Healing potions have a long history in mythology, and they are nearly always hard to get. This is important, because you need to give a reason for why every citizen does not carry dozen in their pack. Which, I suppose you could do if you wanted, but that would make fights incredibly long.

Random Ideas:

The potions are very expensive, so that only the ultra rich can have them, and even they only have one on hand at a time.

The ingredients extremely dangerous to get, so only the most desperate try.

Only the enemy knows how to make them, so your hero will have to get one off them.

They can only be gifted by deities who don’t spend much time caring about humans.

2. Give Them Limits:

In video games, potions will pretty much work until you are dead, then there is no bringing you back from that. I suggest adding more limits than just that. Give it a limit so that if they are on the brink of death, there is still a chance the potion will not save them.

Random Ideas:

You could have the ingredients be time sensitive, so that they have to be consumed within a certain time limit after drinking it.

Perhaps the potion needs to be charged in the sun to work and wont work at night.

The potion only knits wounds back together, but will not work against other damage. Poisons, broken bones, and so on will not be fixed.

The potion has to be swallowed, and it takes time to be absorbed into your body then start working.

The potion will only heal wounds that cover *insert number here* percentage of body wounds, and you can pick what wounds. It could heal all your scratches and not your mortal injury.

The healing process can take hours, which could be too long for some injuries.

3. Give Them a Cost:

If you give them a cost, it would make taking the potion seem more like a risk. It could be as simple as something like “taking potions is seen as cowardly and will ruin your reputation,” or it could be more complex lasting effects.

Random Ideas:

Because it heals so fast, you have the risk of injuries being healed in a wrong way.

It is so painful, many people die from the pain, or go mad.

It builds up in your system until it causes a horrible reaction, and you turn to dust. To make it extra creepy, maybe you turn into the ingredient used in the potions…

It gives you a horrible fever. After, you may not have the energy to get out of bed.

They are addictive, and the more you take the more likely you are to get obsessed.

It will heal wounds, but also causes a permanent sickness.

I just saw that Michelle liked these two pics and I truly feel sick and disgusted. It's bad enough that she still follows her. But what do you mean you are liking a photo of your brother's abuser with the child she has from the guy she cheated on your brother with? At this point, it's either fans and the public who are interpreting the Emvan situation completely wrong and they indeed remained "friends", or Evan is really surrounded by enablers who invalidate his abuse, because there is no other explanation to this. If the latter is the case I feel truly horrible for Evan. Not only would he have suffered trauma and maybe even complex ptsd from that relationship itself, but he would also have to deal with the additional trauma of never having been validated from his support system, which is so essential for the healing process. How is he gonna heal when his support system and the people who should want to care for him and protect him, are completely blind to the fact that Evan was an abuse victim. Maybe i'm reading too much into it and maybe i'm wrong, but seeing Michelles online behavior was really like a kick in the gut for me, especially because i thought she is a decent person. Ryan's and Sarah's behavior was already a sign that his support system might not be the best, but having people within his close family show support for his abuser (or might not even perceive her as his abuser) is just disheartening. And now i just can't stop thinking about the fact that Evan might have never spoken to anybody about all the horrible things he went through (which i'm sure is a lot more worse than a bloody nose) and that he might feel like he has to deal with it on his own :( It really breaks me and i feel so helpless.

i don’t want to make any assumptions about how michelle truly feels based on IG likes, even though i have my own feelings about it… but with that said, i can attest from witnessing my own family do the same exact thing with another family member who experienced domestic violence, that this is unfortunately not uncommon at all. we take for granted sometimes how some people really just have a nonchalance about these things, even when it's happening to a loved one. a “live and let live” mentality that allows them to sit on the fence. especially since evan and emma were together for so long, and i assume his family wanted to stay on good terms. still, when i try and make sense of it, my brain hurts. i don't know how all people don't have a visceral reaction to these types of things. also, his family lives far away so i am sure there’s a ton of stuff, probably the majority of awful things they aren’t aware of. DV is already a very isolating thing. i highly doubt evan considered/considers himself a victim despite what he endured, but that's just my personal feelings. no way to know for sure.

I couldn’t handle Donna QwQ I couldn’t match her energy it’s very sad :( I feel like I would do the exact opposite of what the Doctor did for her in terms of bringing out her most amazing qualities. And I do really try to highlight and praise the qualities of people in my life!! I just don’t know if I could help her reach her full potential. Which sounds like one of those weird therapy-talk approaches to relationships but unfortunately sometimes when you really admire someone you actually do start thinking about things like “am I supporting her journey effectively” and all that. But this is just a date right so it can just be a casual thing. I feel like Donna is someone with whom I could straight up be like Hey so I was never socialized properly and your last relationship ended comically terribly so do you want to like try practicing dating with each other? I think it could be fun! And then eventually she could move on to find happiness with Mr. Temple :)

BJ Hunnicutt is the human equivalent of Disneyland. Everybody in the entire nation is absolutely obsessively feral over it it’s sooo beautiful it’s sooo fun you just HAVE to experience it it’s a quintessential expression of the American dream blah blah blah. But I will never attend this overpriced (constantly borrowing money) and overcrowded (too much competition from the rest of Mashblr) theme park. I do not care for its fastpass system (willingness to cheat on his partner) or its uninspiring coaster design (anger issues), and I am further offended to hear of the constant introduction of cost-cutting measures that harm visitor experience (growth of mustache). Not even the prospect of purchasing a fully functioning Cogsworth clock (chance to join the Punnihawk polycule) is enough to tempt me. It’s not happening. I am going to Dollywood (Maxwell Klinger).
