Is This (Truly) My Reflection..? : A Post on Imposter Syndrome [Master Guide]

" Did well on a test? Must be luck. They think im smart? Man, i must've tricked them because im not. My condition is bad? Well it could be even worser than this. Im struggling? Must be a minor thing, plus everyone struggles worser right..? "

If these words hits close to home, take a moment to look in the mirror. What do you notice? Maybe you fear lots of things, having horrible self-esteem, or being a perfectionist and overthinking everything?

Fear not! They're just blotches obscuring your true reflection, let's finally clean your mirror, shall we? So let's get on with the post;

How did go dusty?

Materialistically speaking, we all know that objects also need regular maintenance to keep it's best quality and lifetime,, mirrors are one of them, especially glasses because magical smudges spawns in once in a while, pretty annoying to see with when things are not clear isn't it?

I think the imposter image also clouds you the same way, it doesn't change the facts, but it does change the way you perceive them.

But, how did they spawn in your vision? It doesn't just pop out, maybe we didn't see it coming when it's small, dust and smears are more visible when they cluster together. What this means is how criticism, out-of-reach demands, and unrealistic expectations you hear most often gets accumulated, slowly obscuring you. Make sense right?

Since the things you hear the most echoes through your chamber harder than the less frequent ones, and that nobody hear's the same thing/words automatically means there are different forms of this syndrome's manifestation, i'll list them down: (bare in mind this is read in a pov of talking to oneself)

Perfectionist - "It all has to be right" You must do it perfect, everything must go smooth, if it doesn't go like how you planned you could've done better in many ways because why can't you see it coming before? That's impossible and unforgivable, there's no toleration for mistakes. Makes you look like you're not as good enough as others.

Expert - "Until then, i may be competent" There's a lot to master or learn, only then you can call yourself worthy of a title. Because the greatest ones must know everything, they don't have any weaknesses--since that's what an expert is! What are you, who learnt most things it has to give, but still missing a lot of little gaps? Once it is all flawless and understood you can call yourself that.

Natural Genius - "I am great, as long i can wing it" Everything must be an easy feat, you must be able to do things right on first try, if not, you might be no other than an average person. Geniuses are fast learning--and they can do everything right where people least expect it. Only then you can truly be smart or intelligent, wrong deductions are associated with less bright people! So if you just make one mistake out of anything, You are just the same as them, you don't have such talent!!

Lone wolf - "It's not real effort if it's intervened" A status or level means nothing if someone helps you, because thats cheating! You should start from scratch like everyone else, asking for help will equate to not being competent or worthy. You will never be able to asses your competence or abilities if it was assisted by someone else, you need to prove being worthy by doing it all yourself!

Hardest Worker - "I should perform as the best" Only if you work the most, the hardest, diligently and with no rest, is only when you can settle down and claim your achievements. What are you if you are not as special? You are nothing but a fraud if you're not the hardest working person ever, you also don't deserve to take a break until you reach to a higher level than others! You are nothing if you are not productive, or didn't achieve any amazing outcome.

Each types has its own fixations and areas where self-doubt comes around, you might even be a mix of these 5 (pick the dominant one if can), the manifestations are endless. Note that the main theme it all has are fear of being fake/inadequate and, or causing extreme doubt, one way or another.

If you need more assurance, i have prepared links for two short quizzes to figure out if you are showing signs of the imposter syndrome! They're already tested by me, so give these two a try.

How should i clean it??

Good question, but before that, i want to mention that this inner critic is a common automatic second voice where it's created in a place of potential abuse or mistreatment for many kinds of victims. Just like how you wipe your stuffs clean can go dirty in a few days despite leaving it be, this is the same. But the more you take care of your glass, the harder the specks will stick on it. That's our goal right there: Make the critics bother you less and more weak the more we deflect them.

Now to the main point, its a tough one here, because depending on what type you have, has it's own root of cause that needs to be tackled accordingly. This post is how to specifically tackle the sense of fraud in being a system, but you can apply this to any other general things the syndrome is causing you problems at.

Dear Perfectionist, here's how you can clean your mirror:

Understand that CDDs have no 'right' way of how it'll present the symptoms to you. Like, for someone to have a cold who have a sore throat for the early onset, while you're having runny nose,, does not mean you are the odd one out for not being the same as other's manifestation.

Nothing is constant, or the same, in frequency or intensity. You don't have to suffer 24/7 to finally accept you have a CDD or anything else. Just like for those with chronic pain, who doesn't experience pain for a day, does not mean they are cured of, or not having it. One minute of feeling okay still can happen to those with illnesses.

Perfectionism seeks outward assurance to fit whatever it finds 'right' or it's prime example as reference, which is the opposite of what you truly need: Acceptance. Comparison can be helpful, but oftentimes it causes counterproductive results. Your experiences are already real and it uniquely belongs to you, no amount of external validation will fill you, accept as how you are.

Dear Expert, here's how you can clean your mirror:

Having CDD means having a very covert disorder, it is not that you're a fraud for not knowing, or have proof of what caused you to be one, or know every parts and places in the innerworld, or need a perfect book filled with documentation on anything you can find. You do not need to 'master' or understand how your disorder truly works in order to feel like you have it--because guess what, you do have despite it, buddy.

You cannot rush things! Take things slow and steady, a microwaved meal may not taste good but it sure gets served in a mere minute, but gourmet are made from long and tedious work that trusts the process instead of the final result. Many systems rush to develop a better communication without fully learning what type of communication they have, like communicating with vibes instead of the stereotypical type for example.

Nobody ever figure things out by a 100%, so ease back and embrace uncertainty and the unknown. If the greatest researchers still can't make sense of how our galaxy works, then you should not be guilty or feel incompetent for not being able to figure it out, we are not perfect ofcourse, there are limitations to what we can know of our CDD.

Dear Natural Genius, here's how you can clean your mirror:

Having a disorder does not mean you immediately know what it does, will do, or how it'll turn out. Never feel bad about learning from scratch, you also don't have to get things right first try because it might be a new topic you're unfamiliar with. If you once think you have DID, but turns out to be Polyfragmented the longer you learn and research, it is a very natural thing to experience as CDD's have many similarities between each other.

You can't keep relying on being unprepared, but expect to do it perfect. It is not a negative thing to always recap, or learn it again, and whenever you do get things wrong, it is a valuable information to learn from, it's not your enemy. The lightbulb isn't invented at first try, but after hundreds and thousands of tries, and the worth still never gets devalued.

Dear Lone Wolf, here's how you can clean your mirror:

It is never cheating to ask for help, or get insight from another person. It never means you are not competent if you need some external help, rather like how you cannot see crumbs in your face until someone points it out. One can do an okay amount of progress, but if with many, it can progress even better and faster.

You must dismantle whatever makes you think of this way, things like hyper-independence are caused by a deeper root, you must delve and explore why are you only deemed worth, or feel okay, if you do everything yourself. We grow better when we surround ourselves with many other things.

Dear Hardest Worker, here's how you can clean your mirror:

healing is a journey, i understand that you want to get over with the whole CDD's symptoms and it's problems and start getting into final fusion/functional system, that the fluctuation with everyday's progress may frustrate you, but everyday doesn't have to be succeeding something or have an eureka, progress is never linear. You will still get there one day, don't fret on it too much okay?

Worries may not leave you alone fully, and just so you know, your worth or validation isn't tied with productivity. Whatever guilt or doubt you have that is causing this, i hope you can incorporate more self-compassion. For the alter with role jobs, you all deserve to have a break and have fun outside of those jobs, and rely with other parts for help. You're doing enough.

Why does it happen? Where's the takeaway?

Well, imposter syndrome relies on many biases/distortions and possible fallacies, i'll tell you some in hopes of helping you get out of its grip better than your previous attempts after learning the awful trick of theirs:

Confirmation bias: When you take a part of a fact to confirm your current image of you have, whilst downplaying contradicting and or disregarding other pov to maintain it.

Mental filter: Fixated on the negative aspects or flaws while missing out on the bigger picture or contextual information it has. Leading to false judgement of one's situation/ability.

Overgeneralization: Where a person assumes an experience from one event will apply to another different event. Or base an answer from a limited evidence or current failures. For example, interpreting a single mistake or setback as evidence that they are incompetent or unworthy, despite having a track record of success in other areas.

False consensus bias: Believing that others share the same negative opinions or doubts about oneself, even when there is little evidence to support this assumption. For example, one may believe that everyone in their workplace or academic environment is highly competent and confident, leading them to feel even more out of place and undeserving.

Fundamental attribution error: Where one underemphasize situational and environmental factors for the behavior of itself/someone else while overemphasizing dispositional or personality factors. For example, people who cut lines in traffic is a jerk, but if you cut traffic it's because there's something important. The pure opposite can be true in this specific example: Sarah receives praise from her supervisor for completing a project ahead of schedule and with excellent quality. However, instead of attributing her success to hard work, skills, and knowledge, she discounts the positive feedback by attributing the outcome to external factors. Saying "I just got lucky this time," or "My team members helped me a lot, so it wasn't all my effort." instead.

So there a hecking ton of information i put here.. But these things are very important to learn about, because the imposter syndrome is a multifaceted problem that has to be addressed in more than one angle.

I hope, everything that is written from start to end, can be used as your chemical cleaner, wiping cloth, along with your handy guide on how to take care of your mirror professionally,

I was trying to keep this short enough for a reply because my last one was so long, but…

First, let me say that Giddy Up and Footloose was so much fun!

It was after the bowling dress that I said to myself, "watch she win," but it was more like an upset during the playoffs, like coming from behind kind of win. But this? This is an upset in it's own right. I don't think most readers thought that her braggadocious attitude could come off as charismatic, and yet… I would be surprised if their bars weren't halfway in the green.

I thought he had chemistry with Noemy, but this is off the charts in comparison, even considering that they didn't really flirt. Of course I didn't know what the date was going to be like, but I knew it wasn't going to be dressage or a mountainside rescue, so it could only be something playful. And that underscored for me that Yasmine's date wasn't structured like the others in terms of flow.

But even with that, I think that these last two dates were actually the most fruitful in terms of Quinton seeing, not quite to the heart of them, exactly, a bit too early for that, but at least being able to see… wait for it… what they're made of.😉

So, I'm not recanting, but I believe the juxtaposition does offer a different perspective on the outcome of Yasmine's date. I have other thoughts about this that are tethered to a couple things, including, something you said in response to my previous ask and, that, rather than a romantic relationship, the date would seem more like the start of a mentorship, but I'll hold off on those until later if they're still relevant when later comes.

And Chanel was the first to ask about his kids! I was not surprised that it was her, but I was surprised that I forgot that Noemy didn't. I remember thinking (assuming, really) the convo Quinton and Noemy had on the plane would lead to her reciprocating the question in someway, but it never happened. Well, it did, but it was about his late wife and they never made it to the kids. I'm not keeping score because I'm actually only rooting for Quinton at this point, but I know that he is, so that had to earn Chanel some points.

I think the main thing this date represents to me is the beginning of a solid friendship, which is sooooooooooooo important in the long run. Having the hots for each other is all well and good, but for most sex-favorable couples, sex happens in between everything else. So, knowing you can vibe with them during everything else is a great foundation. Though, I suppose that vibe won't matter as far as endgame goes if their pink bar stays low, because, again, they didn't really flirt, at least not in a way that the game recognizes.

Up to this point, save for Lucy, who I like personality-wise, I've been indifferent about the rest, just observing, but this date has definitely moved Chanel into the like column. And that's all thanks to the way you're choosing to translate their traits and bio info into personalities in action; it's what I'm enjoying the most.

Me reading this ask. I love you and thank you for your feedback.

Now below the cut.

I can honestly say Chanel surprised me as well. I came into this with one or two sims who had backstories that truly tugged at me. Now, after a weekend of playing these sims, I am all over the place. I just knew Quinton and Chanel would end up with a negative bar. She's in the negative with two of her housemates. However, I was surprised at how Quinton's mood was around Yasmine. Especially since they hit it off so great at the bowling alley, but I guess that's why one on ones are important. Giddy Up and Footloose was really Andraya's date but she reacted negatively towards the horse. So, I went to look at her likes and dislikes and saw dislikes animals. Then re-read her bio and same thing. I don't know how I missed that. So yes, the execs (meaning me) messed up. So nosey and persistent Chanel came in handy because was not about to build another venue. She literally came outside and interrupted their interaction. It's just funny how everybody eventually showed up at the bar while she was having her date with Quinton. Even Dani but she was barefoot for some reason, so I sent her home. It takes all my strength to not cheat or intervene when these sims act unfavorably or against my interest. I have one possibly two sims I'd like to see win but since these sims have been surprising me in ways, I could not have imagined I'm going to let the chips fall where they land. The story has been literally writing itself. I do take some liberties with posing because sims don't do certain things like walk and holds hands. Also, they move too much when sitting or standing while talking so I will use conversation poses after I've done the game play interactions. Saying all that to say it is 85% organic and that's more than what USDA and FDA can say about our organic food.

can’t stop thinking of what it would be like if we went out together for dinner or something and someone started flirting with me and i smiled back at them maybe a little too much for it to be considered mere politeness.

Mmm, well I mean how could that person resist flirting with you, no doubt you look ever so pretty on our date ;3

Well, I do have a possessive side, and so I at first lean around our table with one hand moving under the table so no one else sees that it's resting on your inner thigh as I obviously whisper into your ear, all while making eye contact with whoever had caught your attention. I would ask how much they had interested you, if you wanted to go play with them, and if you knew what would happen later on, with you only being able to nod or shake your head.

If you didn't want to go and play, I would run my other hand slowly up your spine while describing how much I am going to own you that evening once we are home, describing every way I am going to both worship and defile your body from simply kissing and running hands over all those sweet spots you enjoy, to the bites on your neck I will leave to remind others of my darlings partner whenever they look you over. I would check just how worked up you are darling, and once I feel you are flustered enough, I will slide back while smirking at the other person, and say we have to finish our meal first just to make you wait that little bit longer and squirm in your seat as we do so.

If you want to go play with the other person though, I will bite at your ear and tell you to go have fun in the bathroom while I wait for you. Of course you know I won't be able to wait and I will be coming to find you once I know the other person has followed you and you will have made sure the door isn't locked. I will come in and watch as my darling makes out and gets used by this other person, counting just how many times they thrust into you/ make you moan/ kiss you, and once they have finished with you, I will then have my turn and make sure they stay to watch. I will make sure I touch all the spots I know you love, make sure to elicit all those sweet sounds from you, leave a trail of lovebites along your neck to mark you as mine, make you say my name, and ensure that as you cum for me, I am staring at the other person so they truly understand who owns your body and soul. Not some mere mortal but this fox spirit who will now take you home as you are too blissed out now from all this stimulation.

In terms of punishing you, well it depends what my darling is into and if you want to be punished. I am more than happy to bring out the riding crop and make sure that I use it just as many times as I counted the person thrusting into you/ kissing you/ making you moan. Or I am also happy to have you tied up and denied any release for a while since you already had more than enough for now and you will just be denied pleasure until the number of days has passed the same amount of minutes you spent with that other person.

All's Fair In Love & War- Nobunaga Ch. 24

Chapter 24

I had been rather pleasantly surprised when I’d told Nobunaga of my origins and he’d accepted it. It had warmed my heart when what appeared was a concern was that he was afraid I would go back. He truly didn’t want me to leave him…I felt the same.

Of course, what I had not been prepared for was how curious Nobunaga would be about the future. Seeing my old cell phone had apparently piqued his curiosity. When we weren’t busy making love, he was asking me questions about the future.

We were currently laying in the futon, cuddled up and he was asking me questions. “What was your life like there?” He asked.

“My life specifically?” I replied. “Well, when I left I was still considered a kid. I was still under the care of the girls’ home I had grown up in and still in school.”

“Girls’ home?” Nobunaga asked. “And is the school like the temple schools?”

“A girls' home is a place where they take in orphaned girls and care for them until they reach adulthood.” I explained. “The schools…I guess the temple schools are the closest thing you’ll find in this era. But the schools from my time are open for all and they teach all the basics, reading, writing, math, science. Then when you finish school, you can either immediately join the workforce or go into further schooling to train for a specific job. There are also still some jobs where you can be an apprentice to learn them.”

“Interesting.” Nobunaga replied. “So, you did not finish your schooling?”

I shook my head. “No…my grades weren’t always the best anyways.”

“Grades?”

“Kind of a ranking system of how well one completes their school work.” I explained. “We had assignments we had to do as we learned new material and we also had tests to find out how well we learned the material.”

“Interesting.” Nobunaga replied. “What are other advancements in technology in your time?”

I explained more about computers, cars, trains, airplanes…that one really got him.

“Flight is possible in your time then?” He asked, his eyes wide and full of curiosity.

“Yeah. Though I was never personally on one. I never had a reason to fly anywhere else.” I answered. “But it’s very common for international travel. The fastest mode of transportation for that.”

“Truly intriguing.” Nobunaga replied.

I couldn’t help but to smile at his almost childlike curiosity about my original world. It was actually kind of adorable.

“Why are you smiling like that?” Nobunaga asked, looking at me curiously. “Does it make you happy to think of your original home?”

“Not particularly.” I replied. “I honestly didn’t really fit in. It honestly never really truly felt like home. Not like I have here.”

“Then why do you look like that?”

I giggled. “I just didn’t expect you to be so curious. I mean if our roles were reversed, I’m not sure I’d be able to resist asking about things that are supposed to happen in this time.”

“I need not know those things.” Nobunaga replied. “I know I will succeed in my ambition.”

“I see.” I replied.

“However, I am fascinated by new technology and ideals.” He further explained. “I have spent a lot of time talking to the Portuguese missionaries and traders. I’ve learned many things about the way the rest of the world works. The advancements other countries are making. I find it all fascinating.”

“Is that part of what makes you see what this country could be?” I asked, curious.

Nobunaga nodded. “Yes. Once we stop the fighting and unite everyone, then we can join the rest of the world…which from what you have told me, by the time you are originally from happens, we have.”

“That is true.” I replied. “Really it’s probably a good thing you don’t want me to tell you about outcomes of battles or anything…I was a terrible student and only vaguely remember little tidbits from my history classes in the modern day.”

Nobunaga chuckled. “You say you were a terrible student in your time, but you seemed to do well under your father’s tutelage.”

“Different lessons and different styles of teaching.” I replied. “Sword Fighting is definitely more interesting than complicated equations…learning about battles in the pages of a history book is much different than actually living through them.”

Nobunaga was smiling at me. “You prefer a more hands-on approach then?”

I grinned at him. “I find it’s the best way to learn anything…definitely been the best way to learn about you.”

“I have to agree.” Nobunaga replied, his hands trailing over my curves. “I definitely enjoy getting my hands on you.”

I shivered in delight under his touch. I started running my hands over his body in turn. “I love you, Nobunaga.”

“I love you, Ava.” Nobunaga replied before pulling me close once again and kissing me deeply. It was going to be a long and pleasurable rest of our time at the hot springs.

Days later…

We had finished our stay in the hot springs and had packed up to head back to my castle. “Thank you for staying with us, my lords.” Akane’s granddaughter said, bowing to us. “Please come again.”

“Yes, you need to visit more, Ava…but please be quieter next time.” Akane said.

I felt my cheeks heating up a bit, but I smiled and stood my ground. “I’ll make sure we come and we’re even louder next time.”

Nobunaga was chuckling beside me. “That wasn’t the top of your voice?”

I gave Nobunaga a challenging look. “You’ll just have to find out, won’t you?”

“Not in my hot spring.” Akane said. “Now get out…and maybe don’t come back. I miss the days you came with Sato. I could put up with your girlish giggles, but not this.”

“Oba-san.” Her granddaughter scolded.

Nobunaga and I were both laughing. I gave a polite bow to Akance. “Thank you for allowing us to stay and I apologize for keeping you up. I will have a bottle of your favorite sake sent as an apology.”

“Well…I guess I can accept that.” Akane replied. “Be well, Ava.”

“You be well Akane.” I replied.

Akane was then looking at Nobunaga, her eyes cold as steel. “And you…keep her happy. She deserves that.”

“I intend to.” Nobunaga replied.

We were then heading out. Nobunaga mounted up on his horse and then offered me his hand, pulling my up as I placed my hand in his. He snapped the reins and we were off. Nobunaga kissed the nape of my neck as we rode back towards my castle, causing a shiver to run down my spine.

“You really can’t get enough of me, can you?” I teased. “You can’t seem to keep your hands or lips off of me.”

“You are far too delicious.” Nobunaga replied. “And intoxicating.”

“Hmm…I guess I could say the same thing about you.” I replied, turning my head to grin at him.

“You guess?” He asked, a challenging note to his voice. “You seemed to not be able to get enough of me either. You were just as active a participant as I was.”

“Hmm, but I can’t just admit it.” I replied. “Then you might start getting an even bigger ego than the one you already have.”

Nobunaga chuckled in my ear. He was moving the reins to hold them in one hand, as he wrapped his free arm around my waist, pulling me close. “You enjoy challenging me.”

“Oh, that’s one of the things you love most about me.” I replied.

“If I admit that, it will make your ego bigger than it already is.” Nobunaga replied, turning my own words against me.

I giggled, turning my head to kiss his cheek. “We are two of a kind, then.”

We teased, joked, flirted, shared kisses, and caresses as we continued our ride back to my castle. It was fun being with Nobunaga. No matter what we were doing… just being with him, it just made me so happy.

“I am looking forward to finishing my ambition with you at my side.” Nobunaga told me, as we drew closer to my castle.

“You are rather close, aren’t you?” I replied.

“Very.” Nobunaga agreed. “I believe this year, 1582, will be the end. We will conquer this land and remake it into something better. And once we have done this, I want to leave these islands and see all this world has to offer…with you at my side.”

I smiled. “I like the sound of that.” I said. Though, there was something nagging at my brain. As if there was something important I needed to remember from my history lessons. Something about Nobunaga and the year 1582…and something in the pit of my stomach told me it was something bad. I pushed it down. Until I could remember, I wanted to push that feeling down. I didn’t want to cause Nobunaga or anyone else to worry.

You Will Never Understand (Jay Halstead x Female reader)

Summary:A long time childhood friend of Jays comes back into his life,while being involved in a case in the worst way possible,a way Jay wishes never would be true.

Jays heart shattered and he wanted to break everything in the world,seeing his childhood best friend being one of the few able to be in the questioning room.The case they were working on was to take down a very well known drug slinger who he knew also killed a teenage girl while he used to work with the Chicago Justice before transferring to the Intelligence Unit at the 21st District.

“Fuck it,y’all don’t get it.y’all can never fucking understand how it feels to be a women stuck under a fucking man crying and you fighting,you can’t even fucking move his hands.Laying there crying until he’s done with his fucking demands.” You tell Voight unaware Jay was on the other side of the glass.

“An all I can really say,is fuck this government and its politics.We can’t have abortions now because some dam man thinks he knows better,an thinks it’s okay to tell Women what we can and can’t do with our bodies.They will ban abortions but they don’t ban guns that have a higher statistic kill rate” spitting angrily even though it wasn’t Voight who did anything wrong.

“If it came to it,would you be willing to testify.” Voight’s voice was surprisingly calm and gentle. “You are only one of very few,who are alive to be able to stand up”.

You felt like your body collapsed into him,for the first time in a long time you genuinely felt safe,feeling tears form in your eyes though while still trying to see like you were fine.

“Please understand I’m trying my hardest,my head is a mess but I’m trying regardless.Anxiety is one hell of a problem,the what’s if’s latch on and drown you into a pit of darkness” you feel your voice crack and your body tremble against his.

Jay would see and be apart of it all,the good and bad days,the nightmares and the smiles.He was the best person you could ever ask for and the best boyfriend.He was always there no matter what without judgement,he was trying so hard to get you clean,he knew you didn’t know he knew but he did,he was a detective after all he knew all the signs of usage.

Jay watched as you fell asleep on his arms,he thought about every single moment with you from kids to now,from the good times to bad.To watching you put tons of cigarettes in your mouth and then up your nose trying to laugh and joke about it,he didn’t know what it was but he knew there was something different then other girls when it came to you.

But the worst day of Jays life would come that next morning when he found you cuddled into his side,overdosed and not breathing.

this post appeared and stole all my brainworms because it is SO fundamentally tol tonicore like i NEED to talk about what about it makes my brain whirl so madly -

like, the elder toni has a lot of issues yes, but her main issue is that she never quite processed her grief over the tragedies of her personal life. yes, she seems like she has well and adjusted to everything, to her circumstances - and to an extent she has! but in truth, she hasn’t finished mourning it all.

her world is gone, her home is gone, her family is gone, her aspirations and her reasons for living are gone. the only thing she kept in the aftermath of the world’s end is herself, her life, and she has repurposed it for the sake of the irminsul—which due to the duties involved, means she has to cede her own self to an extent at times. she has nearly nothing. the closest thing to a desire is the satisfaction she feels on knowing that when everything ends, the irminsul will record it all. she will record it all, in her own memory.

which, in a sense, means that nothing is truly gone. so, logically, all that she has lost so far isn’t gone either. while vanished from reality, at least, at so very least, an ephemeral but true record of them exists. the memory of what she loves remains.

and for someone with nothing, something is better than nothing.

but as such, this line of thinking has become her coping mechanism. her one, untouchable fact that allows her to deny that she’s lost everything completely, permanently. this allows her to maintain a sense of mental stability after the harrowing things she’s been through - but it won’t change the fact that if that foundation crumbles, she will go through a deep mental breakdown otherwise

put through the stages of grief - if the little toni constantly cycles between Anger and Bargaining and Depression, then the elder toni has been firmly sitting on Denial for millennia.

a part of her though likely realises this, and this is why she always watches the world through the leylines attentively. she awaits the one cycle of the world where it doesn’t end in war and fire and ash, in enduring peace and happiness for all that she cares for in every version of reality. she watches for new decisions, different outcomes. once she sees that, she will be able to rest easier with the new knowledge that a better future does exist and, most likely, will have the strength to withstand any future threats that endanger all those beloved.

but until then, she will remain, forever - to speak for the dead, to remember them. because until there is no one left to remember their existence, then they aren’t lost. they are still here, with her:

Kuro 2 Review – Interview Style Part 1

A while ago I finished Kuro 2 with the Englisch Fan-Translation-Patch. (That I am really grateful for. Guys, I am also stull grateful for the Spreadsheet that allowed me to play Hajimari and Kuro 1 in advance but it is so much easier with a Patch instead… I loved it! Thanks to whoever made it!) Which means it is now time for my final review of the game.

[Just for your information: I legally bought the game on Steam]

(As per usual, I might write another Review or add something to this one, after the official English translation is out, but we will see if it is really necessary.)

Obviously, SPOILER! (Possible not just for Kuro 1 and 2 bus also for the rest of the Trails Saga.) YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Once again, the review will be done Interview Style

1. You’ve watched a lets play of the game in Japanese first, what was your first impression after you finished watching it?

My first impression was that the game wasn’t really good and had some rather annoying time-reset-shenanigan that we could have really lived without and lots of meaningless and emotionless deaths. Plus, it was obviously a filler game that did basically nothing for the plot. It was honestly not a game I was looking forward to very much.

2. How did your first impression change, now that you had the chance to play the game yourself?

The good news is, that I really think that the game isn’t as bad as it felt like when I was just watching it. But the bad news is that a lot of my criticism still stands.

3. Lets talk about your criticism first then, but in a bit more detail. What did you dislike the most about the game?

The resets were immensely annoying. They could have been an amazing feature, if they had used it a bit less and a bit differently. A lot of the dead-ends weren’t that shocking at all and a lot of them didn’t have any emotional impact in you as the player and that was the mistake. The first one, were Elaine dies and then Van was a total shocker, but we didn’t have much time to have any emotional reaction to this, because while Agnes was screaming the reset already happened and both Van and Elaine were alive again, before you truly got to feel anything. Also… in Maxims Story, it took us 3 tries to finally fix the problem and it was getting annoying at some point. Yes, it was supposed to be the big plottwist that all along Maxim was the problem, but after the second reset I kind of got sick of it. And then, there is no true system behind the reset. When Towa died, we got a reset, but when the guy died that had worked with Almata before and wanted to turn himself in to some day finally be able to return to his family, the time did not reset. Why? It was later explained that the time would reset until the outcome was the desired one. But why do we desire the death of that man but when Towa dies we turn back time? The whole reset thing was a hot mess that did more damage to the game then it did good. There were also a lot of moments in the game were the character were totally OOC or where their actions didn’t fit their previous actions or were they doubted someone they’ve know and trusted (and sometimes even loved – be it as a friend or otherwise) for years in a way that made me shake my head. Like…. Elaine had to fight against Van, the man she loves, the guy she knows since her childhood and trusted enough to not one moment assume he was the red Grendel, to find out that he had good reasons to work with the Oathbreaker? WTF?! Ashens mind was so twisted that she believed that her childhood friend Aaron killed Cao and that devastated her so much that she thought killing Aaron was the right thing to do? Swin would leave Nadia behind to be with Ace without even trying to get Nadia to join them? And he really felt the need to go with an Ace that obviously did things the real Ace would have never done to begin with? Bullshit! Märchengarten was a nice way to train your people and get your hands on some useful stuff, but it ruined the Pacing and I honestly have no freaking idea why we had to go through level 9 after already beating the Garden Master, who had been the reason for the anomaly to begin with? Chapter 3 was a never-ending nightmare. We ran from one catastrophe into the next and it far overstayed its welcome. Not to mention that getting crushed by a falling airplane was a bit too much, even for a game where we got poisoned and affected by a deadly virus and obliterated by an Angel. (And all that in itself already sounds ridiculous.)

4. Okay, but since you said the game wasn’t as bad as you first thought, what were the good things?

Something I liked about the game is that many of the missions, side- or main missions alike, had some twist and turns that made them really interesting. The thing with Maxi for example was surprising. They should have kept that one a bit shorter, but yes, that was something that I didn’t see coming at all. Or the one with the Graffiti, where the guy was wanting to use the girl to make money with her art, while pretending to only want her to clean the Graffiti off his boat. Or did anyone foresee Halle blowing us up? The twists and turns made it really interesting, even when the slowed down pacing got you a bit tired. This game was a filler, yes, but it showed you why it was necessary anyway very well. It gave you more time with the characters, more time for the development of relationships and showing us certain places and situations a bit more closely. A lot of things that were placed in this game will do part 3 good, but would likely not have fit into it. For example, Quatres story and its consequences or the first half of Ninas true Identity. Even rounding up Dingos story by giving us a chance to properly say goodbye to him and mourn his loss and the “what could have been” when Marielle showed up, was an important part of the story that was really necessary (I talk more about this in the next question) and would likely not have found a place in the third game. The game also payed close attention to making sure we get the time to learn to like Shizuna and our two new Gralsritter-Friends, as one of the most important parts of the Trails-Series is the connection between you the player and the characters in the game. And once again, we will likely not have time for that in the next game. And I think it is a good thing, that a filler fulfills more purpose then just filling in a gap.

Regarding Future Charity Streams

I started doing 24-hour. charity streams back in late October of last year, and have just finished my 3rd one this past weekend. As of right now, we have successfully raised $1,054.99. ($534.99 for Jazz Hands for Autism, $300 for The Trevor Project, and $220 for the Autism Society of America).

I wish to thank everyone that has contributed to these charities during the events. Each of these organizations mean a lot to me. However, as I look back on what transpired during the Autism Society of America, I know that I performed much worse than usual.

While it is true that each following charity stream has earned less than the last, I never wish to blame others for the outcome of each event. I acknowledge that people may not be able to contribute anything due to hard financial times. I always make it a priority to notify others, regardless if it's subs, bits, and donations to either myself or a charity I'm hosting for, to save their money if they're needing to pay rent, bills, utilities, groceries, or other necessities. The blame rests solely on me.

With this in mind, if I do plan to host any future charity streams on my streaming platform, I need to make some changes to hopefully lead to better results. These are what I have in mind.

1. Cut down from 24-hr to 12-hr charity streams: What I noticed during the last charity event is that no one donated money during the latter half of the charity streams unless it was in the early hours (9 pm-10 pm CDT). This means that I have been keeping myself awake during the nocturnal hours, where my energy is depleted and my attention isn't as aware as in the early phase, for mainly nothing. I have also noticed that my break periods were also much longer than necessary during this time. For the sake of my sleep schedule and taking the contributions into consideration, I have decided to cut down to 12-hr charity streams going forward. There's no reason for me to stay up longer than expected only to not get any donations during that time period. Hopefully, this will lead to better content from me as I will be more energized and less lethargic and unattentive during these big events.

2. Get rid of donation incentives: For the past 2 charity streams that I have done, both solo efforts by myself, none of my donation incentives were met. Honestly, I don't feel like I have the internet presence or vast community to truly warrant having donation goals going forward. Therefore, I will be eliminating any future donation incentives from my charity streams until I feel I have earned an audience big enough to undertake those objectives. However, I will be keeping the Video Messages to all Donators, Top Donators incentives, and Charity Wheel spins for every $25 earned during each campaign. Those won't be going away anytime soon, as I still wish to personally thank everyone who spent their hard-earned money on such worthy causes.

3. Regarding retweets on social media: In the past, I have messaged friends/mutuals of mine to possibly retweet my charity announcement whenever they go up on my Twitter or Tumblr account. Even if I do mention that it's entirely optional, I do feel like I'm taking advantage of my friends' communities. This was brought up by someone that I did ask prior to the event, who I will leave anonymous. Since the last charity stream did perform the weakest of the 3, with fewer viewers and contributions overall compared to the others, I don't think I feel comfortable asking others to share my donation events going forward. I no longer want to exploit my friends'/mutual's communities, as I truly want to earn it in the long run. It just seems to lead to false engagement overall, especially given this past stream's overall numbers. This will be daunting, especially since I am not a Twitter Blue member and don't wish to pay for a monthly service that doesn't have any truly noteworthy benefits to pledge my money for it. My posts could get left unnoticed, so I hope those that do follow my content are able to promote it whenever they do go live. I will also post any updates over on my private Discord server dedicated to charity streams, so if anyone in there wishes to retweet the posts when they go live, it would truly mean a lot going forward. If anyone knows of ways to better highlight upcoming events on Twitter and other social media, I am always willing to listen.

Overall, I am saddened that I wasn't able to provide my absolute best during the Autism Society of America Charity stream, especially when it meant so much to me. I just need to realize that I don't have a big following yet, and might have future charity streams wane in interest unless I make these changes. If you have any suggestions to make to perhaps help with future donation drives, you're more than welcome to provide them.

Until then, I will be taking this week off from streaming in order to get the top donator rewards taken care of, find out which games the winners of the Charity Wheel have picked, and reflect on where to go from here.

I'm curious about what i will be experiencing this summer (especially curious about love lol) Now the important part, my offering - if you don't like feel free to ignore my question, but I'm offering you my spotless and outstandingly health(i haven't been sick in ages, and the last time has probably been a sore throat cuz I've slept with the covers off😂) and my reason for this - i simply have the belief i don't get sick. Well, it seems like the ruling theme of this summer for you will be "possession". Whether it's good or bad you will see for yourself, but take heed and protect what you truly love and need, and what you don't, it's okay to let go of.

In general, this summer will be a little not so refreshing for you. You might feel like things get a little out of balance, and that you're not quite comfortable on the ground you stand. As if you wanted to go away/somewhere else, you might feel a little thrown out of your element so even if you try to rest as much as you can you might still be left sort of restless. On the other hand, I don't know if you tend to nap to avoid negative feelings or reality, but if you do, this won't help your summer to be better at all. It is of utmost importance that you take care of your mental health during this summer, because while you feel okay and not so bad exhaustion and restlessness might suddenly slam their way down on you.

At this point, I can tell that it seems like you will lose something that you truly want/love, but don't really value in the proper way. Though at the same time, it seems like this is necessary, mostly because it no longer serves a purpose in your life or hinders you. It's not necessarily about the loss itself, rather, the feeling of loss.

I'm inclined to feel this loss will regard a family member or other relationship of sorts that you feel like you can't reject; but it feels like this outcome has been building up over time and this will push you to move on. Another possibility: if you don't lose someone else, you might feel like you spiral into a loss of control that also make you feel like you're losing yourself to any situations in your life that may arise and influence you.

I hope I'm way wrong with this, but things point out to you leaving a place of residence or being kicked out of where you currently live/stay. It almost seems like all that will be left when things happen, will be you and your belongings. Whoever, the cards signal that is not true loss, but the start of a journey in your life.

As for love... I assumed you hoped for romance so here's what I got: things are still in the brewing and your "fate" is not set on stone as of yet, so romance is still not entirely in the question, at least not for now. However, rejoice for romance will see its beginnings this summer but you won't be able to see or notice it. It will come from a bond that you strengthen after a hard period of time, mostly after a choice. Then, when you move on in your personal life, romance will slowly build up with every step you take until eventually you find yourself where you want to be.

To summarize on the love thing, you won't find romance yet, but you will open way to it.

Quite the negative reading, hopefully I'm wrong, but if I'm not, then I can assure you things will be for the best in the long run even if they give you a hard time.

Okay, your person seems to be pretty straightforward with their feelings, but it’s more of because they wear their heart out on their sleeve and is just super transparent with how they feel about you. If I’m being honest, I can’t see the event of the confession per se, but I do see the circumstances that surround it or are related to it.
