I say "Main Home" here because they do have multiple homes, at least one in each mate's home country (pretty hugeass ones in St. Petersburg and outskirts of Bangkok), but this is their "home base" so to speak.
It's located in Hasetsu, and without researching too much into Karatsu's actual layout in rl, I'm placing it somewhere within long but manageable jogging distance to both the Ice Castle and Yuuri's parents' inn. A lot of Japanese rural towns (including my own hometown) have slowly been losing their traditional single storey homes and ricefields and have been turning them into apartment complexes to maximize money yield. In this AU, I HC that Victor and Phichit bought one of these lots and turned it into a huge ass fancy mansion for their family. Again, in this AU those two are filthy rich (though Minami also comes from money), and given the very rural location of their home, the location should be comparatively affordable. Given their family's fame and the amount of frequent travel they do, I figure it's okay for them to want their main home away from big cities and in a place harder for fans/paparazzi to stalk them.
In general, their home is modern but homey, more cream and natural wood colors over pure white, with areas that are more traditional Japanese. Each personal area is customized to its inhabitant’s liking.
While I think most of the rooms are pretty self-explanatory/I haven't thought that much about them myself, here's a floor by floor breakdown of some of the important rooms and what they're used for.
F1 (G) - Ground Floor
Main Entryway - Is traditional Japanese style, very large area where people can take off shoes, big ass shoe cubies on both sides where both family and guests can store their shoes. Inside the home, in general no shoes except in the basement floors.
Living Area - Main area to entertain guests/chill. Tons of couches, super plush carpets to roll around in, huge ass glass doors with a great view of the back yard to watch kids through. Small movie theater screen can descend from the ceiling in front of said glass doors.
Kitchen - Pretty big but manageable domain, everyone considers it Phichit's domain whenever he's home but Yurio spends a lot of time in there too. Also has a small corner for kids to watch parents cook/help if it's a task that requires some extra table space.
Bar - Victor and Chris especially like chilling here, another great guest entertaining spot. Tons of alcohol beneath counter.
Dining Area - Has a huge round table that can fit all of their main family members and a few guests. Because it's so large and therefore impossible to reach around, it's Chinese dim sum table style, with a center that can rotate. It's fantastic because plenty of room for everyone, but it can also be pretty lonely when a lot of people are away, in which case the present family members may choose to dine in another area.
Chill Area/Music Area - Another place with lovely carpet and nice couches, also a grand piano bc every Rich House needs one of those right AHAHAH (of the kids, Arisa plays most).
Study Room/Library - Has lots of tables and computers and books in every language. A good place to chill, but also where Minami likes to tutor the kids. Sitting at the tables gives a great view of the back yard.
Back 2nd building (with kitchen/dining/living) - Second entirely unnecessary smaller building in the back, most important feature is the elevator, which goes through all the floors.
Back yard - Lots of pretty lawn and nice cobbled paths. Is completely enclosed by a stone wall high enough to discourage trespassers but low enough to not feel cut off from the rest of the world (and allow in neighborhood cats, but keep the dogs safely in when they're romping free). Yurio is half-assedly attempting a vegetable garden in the corner with varying levels of success. They like having barbecue parties in the summer, followed by mini fireworks <3 Victor and Chris like skinny dipping in the pool in the middle of winter, Yuuri and the others will watch from the balconies thanks. There's also an area in the back that has a retractable cover, which can look down into the giant communal bath in basement 1.
F2 - 2nd Floor
The "Parents' Floor," also has open areas that look down into the 1st floor and up into the 3rd floor, makes the ceiling feel super tall in those areas :'D
Nest - The biggest main feature of this floor. A huge room with an enormous round bed, it's heavily padded and shaped a bit like a very shallow and plush bowl filled with blankets and pillows. Any of the family can sleep there, and it's usually the favorite place to sleep. Can fit all the main family members including the kids when they're a bit older comfortably. Also has some nice lil tables and desks and a huge veranda overlooking the backyard if people just want to chill. Absolutely no sex allowed in this room because kids can come in at any time.
Other Communal Sleep Room - Also known as "The Icky Room" by the kids, aka the communal room for when the adults are feeling frisky >.>; If people are doing stuff in that room, it's okay for the other adults to assume it's an open invitation to join. Also has a very big bed that can comfortably fit most of the adults at once, and also a very large jacuzzi bath for cleanup...The kids have all had their own Experiences TM, but in general have learned to steer clear if they hear Noises.
Yuuri's Room - All bedrooms are the private domains of the individual, and everyone needs to knock and get permission to enter. Most of the time people prefer to sleep in the Nest, but it's important to have a private space too. Also holds personal belongings, personal closet, etc.
Yuuri doesn't have as many belongings as some of his mates (other than merch of Victor which he absolutely won't get rid of HAHA) and has a relatively small closet as someone who doesn't particularly care for fashion. That being said, he's the most likely to invite a husband or more to come join him, so his private bed is the biggest.
Phichit's Room - While he can't be at home as much of the others especially when he's younger, he needs access to all of his work when he happens to be home, so has a decently sized office attached to his room. Has a big walk in closet and shares a bathroom and veranda with Yuuri, reliving their good ol days as roommates. Also has 3 enormous glass tanks for his hamsters, which Yuuri and the kids take care of when he's away.
Victor's Room + Yurio's Room - These two honestly don't spend that much time in their own rooms except to access their huge ass wardrobes, but again having a private place to retreat to when needing space is important. They share a bathroom and veranda.
Minami's Room - While he assumed he was a guest, he intentionally asked for a room close to the nursery so he could sprint in to take care of the kids before they bothered their parents. He, like Yuuri, has comparatively little in personal belongings (except for Yuuri merch, which he also stubbornly refuses to let go of). Has his own private bathroom, which is nice because he frequently stains it with hair dye...
Chris's Room + Otabek's Room - While technically "guest rooms,” they stay so frequently and for so long that they more or less naturally became "their" rooms. They're across the wing from Victor and Yurio and mirror their rooms in most ways.
Nursery - Easily accessible to both Yuuri and Minami, though the kids weren't there often as they often sleep next to their parents in the Nest or their respective rooms. Also partially taken over by cats, who think the cribs make excellent cat beds...
F3 - 3rd Floor
The "Kids' Floor," pretty much has the same cut outs looking down into the first floor as the 2nd floor.
Big Chill Area - Directly above the Nest and is very open, with a veranda that overlooks the veranda of the Nest. Good place to chill and roll around in. Also connects to several other pretty big rooms for specialized activities for the kids.
The Twins' Rooms - Were offered separate rooms but they asked that the wall be torn down so they could share the space. They have a hugeass walk-in closet honestly bigger than any of their parents' because they haven't learned moderation. They also like having their beds pressed together into one larger bed. Their veranda overlooks Phichit + Yuuri's. Share a bathroom with Arisa and Yuuji.
Arisa + Yuuji's Rooms - Relatively moderate rooms, Yuuji has to go through Arisa’s room to access the bathroom but they don't mind.
Play Room + Study Room - More places for the kids to chill, though adults are in there sometimes too.
2nd Kitchen/Dining Room - Because sometimes the main kitchen is occupied and it's easier to go up a floor? Arisa also likes experimenting with baking here.
Corner Chill Area - 'Nuff said, why you rich people need so much space, gods.
Big Guest Rooms - Some nicer bigger guest rooms, including a fancy one with access to a jacuzzi bath. For Important Guests like Yakov and Lilia.
Window Glass Hall - Big hall with all glass walls that goes over the back yard. A refreshing place to practice dancing, but if anyone wants to do anything there they generally have to shoo off the occupying mass of sunbathing cats.
R - Rooftop
Rooftop Ice Rink - Because of course they freakin' have one. Generally only iced during the winter, and they can skate right up to the edge where they can look down on the back yard and also Hasetsu and probably the ocean. In the summer is a nice flat field for other things.
Track - "Go run some laps on the track," Victor can command and they don't even need to leave the house...
Living Area - Another nice place to chill.
Dining Area - How much do these people eat...
Misc Room - Why do rich people have so much space.
B1 - Basement 1
Aka, Exercise Floor
Ice Rink - The indoor one, available all year round because of course they have one. Not nearly as big as a full size rink, but large enough for some decent solo practice, is great for when weather sucks and they don't want to go out to the Ice Castle. Yuuri especially loves going to it at bizarre times of night when he can't sleep and wants to meditate on the ice.
Weights/Mat Room - 'Nuff said, gym at home keep those muscles ripped yo.
Cardio Room - All them runnin' machines. Also has access to a multi-stall bathroom.
Dance Studio - Pretty darn big, honestly bigger and nicer than Minako's ballet studio. So Minako teaches the kids here. Walls can change between mirror mode or multiple solid color modes, and door seams are near invisible. Also has drop down poles.
Sound Proof Practice Rooms - For all your deafening screaming and instrument shrieking needs...
Communal Bath - Because apparently being jogging distance to an actual free onsen wasn't enough. Big ass bathing area, sure most of the bathrooms come with baths but why bother when you have this masterpiece in the basement. Has a changing room and multi-stall bathroom for after various exercise, opens into a cleansing/shower area, and then nice big private communal bath. The main bath area has a section of the ceiling that can roll back so they can bathe beneath the open sky/let the snow fall on them which is honestly the best type of onsen experience. Even has a small waterfall that Victor can sit under in comfort however long he wants. On the other side, there's a small area with even hotter water and a sauna, along with a pretty lil rock garden.
*Note, while some people wear shoes on this floor because of the various exercise rooms, they all have pairs of shoes that they only use here. In other words, it's relatively clean, no outside dirt, and people generally also feel comfortable padding around barefoot or with slippers only.
Heat Room/Emergency Room - Where Yuuri goes when his heats are strong and he wants more privacy than the 2nd floor rooms. Is separate from the rest of the house and has multiple pheromone blocking doors that keeps his scent mostly inside. Has a big bed, a fridge, and a bathroom for his mates to care for him. They clean up really well after each heat, and because of how isolated the room is, how well equipped it is with sustenance and a bathroom, and how sturdy the walls are, it can double as an "emergency room" in case of threat. Built so it can survive a bombing, and the hall door can close seamless. Helps that only family members know this room even exists, as heat rooms aren't usually openly talked about ^ ^;
EDIT, added: Washing/Drying Machines Room - BECAUSE IT WAS DRIVING ME INSANE that I forgot to add one in the first time round because yes it's a small detail but NECESSARY. It's a big room that has a ton of machines so everyone can do their loads separately, with plenty of counter space for folding and racks for things that can be air dried indoors. It's Japan though so they like to dry their things outside when it's nice out. Located conveniently right next to the elevator.
B2 (P) - Parking/Garage
Ramp - Leads down from the ground floor, is very wide and can comfortably fit 2 large cars side by side.
Parking Lot - Can hold all the family cars (Victor's hot pink convertible, Yurio's custom tiger-print Jaguar convertible, Phichit's cutesy hamster-themed Volkswagen, Minami's painfully plain but honestly most useful family van, Yuuri's also very normal energy efficient car, and a handful of motorcycles courtesy of Otabek and Yurio's growing collection) plus that of guests.
Basement Recreation Room - Called that, but honestly mostly a garage/tinkering area. Generally considered to be Otabek's domain when he's around, he likes bringing in bikes and sometimes cars through the big ass doors they can drive through so he can fiddle with them. Nice couch area for people to watch.
Boiler Room - Bc every bigass house needs a bigass one right? *squints* IDK ARCHITECTURE MAN, just say it works 'kay...
~~
Aaaaand that’s it folks! Thanks for reading ^ ^ I may or may not draw how it looks externally bc I freakin’ HATE drawing buildings but eh, this should be a decent enough reference for now imagining where they live ^ ^

“Y/N-chan!!!”
You cringe in embarrassment as soon as you hear that awfully familiar and cheerful voice, you could barely remember this man and the events that transpired the night before but here he was, acting like your new best friend. You weren’t even sure if you wanted to go here but you needed clarity. Surely you didn’t just legally marry a man at an Izakaya out of all places last night?
“Oh, you actually did marry him.” Gojo Satoru proclaims as soon as you take a seat across him, he gestures around his face, “I could tell by your whole, ‘I hope this guy is messing with me’ face. You have it, signed and sealed. Even got the cute matchy rings that I had one of my assistants delivered.”
You pale at the thought of his assistant coming in with a silver ring. Wasn’t he sober? How could he not have stopped you two from doing something as reckless and stupid as this? Weren’t older men supposed to be more responsible than this?
“Why the hell didn’t you stop us?” You groaned, burying your face in your hands, embarrassment painted all over your features.
“I was just as drunk as you two.” He confessed, scratching his head, “probably even more drunk but anyways back to the topic in hand, I only remembered it when the same assistant came in and congratulated me about it. It’s good I had your number on my phone before you two bailed.”
“So you don’t really remember?”
“Bits and pieces.” Gojo grinned, this guy was a maniac, how did the serious man you met just this morning have friends like this? You probably wouldn’t even last long, “I did call Nanami-”
He’s cut off by the rough sound of someone pulling a chair out, you immediately jump on your seat when you realize it’s Nanami Kento, the guy from this morning. The man you had recklessly married!
“This better be some prank you’re pulling, Satoru.” His voice was anything but kind that you almost wanted to hide behind Gojo’s back.
“Hey, hey.” Gojo raises his hands, “Don’t look at me. I didn’t force you into anything and stop scaring your poor little partner.”
Nanami snaps his gaze towards you and you notice how his eyes soften just a bit when he sees your red ears and your eyes looking away from him, “You better call Geto and fucking fix this, I refuse to bother this young-”
“It’s fine.” You cut him off, still shy and red, “It’s...fine...I just…Please don’t think I’m burdened by it. It was technically my fault for even agreeing immediately.”
Nanami clenches his jaw and turns away, “Nevertheless. L/N-san’s young. I hope to not be such an uncouth man like you.” he retorts, voice sharp as he eyes the white-haired businessman up and down. Gojo, seemingly used to it, rolls his eyes behind his dark shades.
“Maybe you guys should try it out.”
The blonde man looks like he’s about to smite the white-haired man out of existence yet Satoru remains oblivious to his friend’s gaze, “Don’t ya think so? It will take a while for those divorce papers to settle in so why don’t you two go out and get to know each other? Who knows…” he sing-songs the last part and Nanami is so close to chunking his briefcase towards the tall businessman, not even caring
“Ah, he’s not exactly wrong, Nanami-san.” you try to calm him down, placing a small hand on his broad shoulder.
“Don’t tell me you’re actually listening to this idiot’s idea.” Nanami replied, gaze narrowing.
“Not really but you have some problems I can help you out on and I have problems that you can help me out on...Of course, the last say is on you...”
“Told you I actually had a brain.” Satoru piped in.
“Shut up, Satoru.” he quips, then turns to you, “I’m thirteen years older than you, L/N-san. I have two high school kids that could pass off as your siblings, and-”
“Well, I technically did marry you.”
“You were drunk.”
“Doesn’t exactly really excuse it.” You laugh nervously, “The whole divorce process usually lasts up to a few months, some even takes a whole year. I could help you out with the boys and I can use you to ward my family off from moving back home.”
Nanami is quiet for a moment, actually thinking about it. Weighing the pros and the cons, not only would you be able to help him out but you’d also be able to get Gojo and blind-dating out of his back.
There really wasn’t anything he could loose, really.
“Or you two might fall in love.” Satoru teases, making Nanami throw him another side-eye, as if saying ‘I dare you to say another word.’

It’s a Thursday today and Sukuna absolutely loathed Thursdays     apparently because it reminded him of Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. They all were far from the weekend     Everyone seems to be happier than usual though. Maybe it was because you were there teaching some basic shit at the board or something.
“...and if we transfer this here and change the positive to a negative, you’ll end up having five as your answer.” You smile, placing your chalk down, “Does anyone have any questions?”
Echoes of no’s resonated throughout the room.
“Alright then, let’s end the lesson here so you guys can have an early lunch. I don’t think an assignment is in order since many of you were able to get a perfect score in the activity awhile ago.” You winked. A couple of whoops resonated throughout the whole class right after.
As the kids shuffle out of the room of the class, Sukuna remains behind. The ojisan had cooked them something delicious this morning and he wanted to eat it in peace without that pesky Nobara grabbing a share from his bento and Yuuji’s annoying babbles about horror movies with his best friend Junpei (the only one who was really bearable was Megumi, really)
“Sukuna-kun?” you called out, snapping him out of his small trance,  “Are you alright?”
He notices a glint of worry in your eyes, he had to admit since his transfer here last Monday, you were the least annoying teacher in the academy     the blue-haired professor in Japanese literature was absolute shit since he loved to tease him a lot and that bald-headed teacher in science who looked a lot like Mike Wazowski was an annoying twerp who loved dawdling in him and Yuuji’s business     and you were kind of good at your job. Not only did his idiot of a brother stop coming to him and their ojisan for help in math but he could actually do the worksheets right and get an actual decent grade at it.
“Yeah.” he roughly replies.
“That’s good.” You smiled, he watched as you bind their worksheets together and clip them in utmost delicacy, “You should head to the cafeteria now, I heard they’re serving milk bread today.”
Without saying anything more, you left the room, leaving him there in the silence.
Well, the Christmas tree idiot was right.
You kind of had a motherly aura on you and it didn’t even look forced.
No wonder, everyone in this room was whipped for you despite your subject being a pain in the ass.
Tumblr media
“You look like an idiot.” You mumbled as you slapped Mahito’s hand away in annoyance, your workmate wiggling his eyebrows like the little shit he is.
You completely forgot you did have someone like Gojo Satoru in your life and it was one of your co-workers, Mahito, a Japanese literature teacher who was too nosy for his own good.
“You’ve got a ring on your ring finger and a mailman comes in and gives you an invite for Zen’in Toji’s fortieth birthday.” he whistles, “Even Jogo-sensei gossiped by the water cooler awhile ago, saying that you had eloped with the man. Not that I’m judging you or anything...”
You choke on your saliva, clearly thrown off by the backhanded comment. That darn bald-headed fool that looked like the green eyed monster from the DreamWorks cartoon, he sure needed to lay off the gossip and actually focus on his job as the head of the science department, “You’re not denying it.” Mahito stated, narrowing his eyes in suspicion, “Why aren’t you denying it?”
“I’m not dating Megumi-kun’s father.” You grumbled, finishing up your paperwork, “That man is off limits.”
“Right,” he drawls on sarcastically, “...because you have a strict rule against dating hot older men with money.”
“I also teach his kids and his cousin…” You deadpan.
“We don’t even have a rule against that.” He retorts, rolling his eyes, “If we did, Hanami-sensei would’ve been fired a long time ago.”
“You’re an asshole.”
“And you’re so secretive. If it isn’t Toji Zen’in, who’d ask you out?”
“Hey, I do have a man.” You huffed, “and he’s very kind and considerate...”
The image of the tall and lean man sleeping next to you slowly wormed its way back from your memory and you feel your cheeks start to flush. Good god, what were you? twelve? How embarrassing.
You needed to get that image off of your head, it wasn’t right.
It was all temporary, anyways and he doesn’t even see you in that sort of way-
“Yes, I’m Sukuna and Yuuji Itadori’s guardian…” a very familiar stoic voice could be heard from the nearby table, cutting your thoughts short. Wait, were you so head over heels for the man that you started imagining him here? Yuuji and Sukuna’s guardian? Wait a minute.
All color drained from your face as you snap your head behind you to find the same man you were imagining.
Oh no.
Oh no, indeed.
There stood Nanami Kento in all his glory;  crisp suit, stoic face, and eyes laced with mild worry.
“...L/N-sensei is Sukuna-kun’s adviser, by the way. It would be best to discuss this with them.” Akari somberly informed the man, turning to your direction. You don’t miss the shift of expressions when he sees you standing there.
Your mouth parts and you know you look like gawking fish trapped in a small aquarium.
“Akari-sensei’s looking at you with the new hot daddy.” Mahito mumbles next to you, eyeing him up and down, “Definitely wonder where all these old men come from these days.”
You were only half-listening to your co-worker because your head was all over the place, just what were the odds that he was the guardian of the new transferee’s? Just how awkward would everything be? Why did it even have to be at this school out of all places?
Never ending questions pop out of your head as you approached them, “Good afternoon, Nanami-san.” Your smile comes out very stiff and awkward while you hold your hand out for him to shake, clearly there was no memo on how you were suppose to act around your sort-of-fake-husband-whos-kids-you-actually-taught.
Nanami reverts back to his stoic expression as he clears his throat, “Yes, good afternoon to you too, L/N-sensei.” he greets, maintaining a straight-laced tone.
“Akari-sensei says that Sukuna has been quite...rude...in class…” you try to rack your brains up to describe his kid.
“Your son literally pointed out that the history lesson I was teaching was fake and that I should study again so he could get his tuition’s worth.” Akari looks clearly perplexed and ready to throttle the boy if it was legal. You had to admit, Sukuna went overboard with that insult.
You knew how passionate Nitta was about her job and what Sukuna just said to her was like a big ‘fuck you, you suck.’ to her.
“I’ll be sure to talk to him about this,” he sighs, bowing down, “I’d like to ask for forgiveness for that, the boy is a good and smart student-”
“Nanami-san, the school not only cares about grades but character as well.” Akari Nitta sighed, cutting him off, “I’ll let this slide once, if he does that again, it goes on the record.”
You internally bit your cheek, still trying to process everything that was going on.
“I understand. Thank you for that.”
“I’ll walk him out, sensei.” You immediately say soon after, wanting to have some alone time with him, “Let’s go, Nanami-san.”
You walk right next to him silently, some students peerlessly glancing at the tall blonde next to you but you were too immersed in thought to notice the stares, “Nanami-san?” you ask softly as soon as you reach the exit.
Nanami Kento looks at you, his eyes still laced with a bit of worry, “It’s okay.” you silently comforted him, “Just talk to him calmly.”
“That’s not the problem.” he sighed, “I just didn’t expect that the person I married would be the boy’s teacher.”
You sweat drop, “Aren’t you worried about talking to Sukuna? I mean, he literally just disrespected a teacher and you said that he and you weren’t in good-”
“It’s easier to talk to him about that rather than…” he paused, showing his ring, “this.”
You blinked.
Seemed like Nanami knew what to say about the little attitude problem his son had, “So you must be used to this?” you asked, “Him disrespecting the teacher?”
You notice the shift of expressions on his face, you had only known this man for a few days so far but he was starting to get easier to read. His eyes shed more emotion than his face, no wonder he likes wearing those funny sunglasses a lot.
“It’s something I’ve scolded him over a couple of times,” he gruffed, trying to dance around the subject, it seemed like he had such a soft spot to the point where he had a problem with disciplining them, “At times I believe it’s just because he’s way too smart for his age. The boy has read history books for fun when he was a kid and solved quadratic equations to prove that he’s better than me when he was ten.”
“It still doesn’t give him the free pass to say things like that to a teacher”
“I know,” he acknowledged, “I’ll be sure to give him a better scolding-”
“No, you see. This is why he thinks he can get away with it. He isn’t afraid of you. You’ll only probably tell him that you can’t do that.” you frown, crossing your arms, “You do know that not all sensei’s are as nice as Akari-sensei and he could get in trouble for that even more in the future, right?”
Silence lingered between you two for a moment and suddenly you realize that you must’ve said something way off the rails.
“I..” you turn red, embarrassed by the sudden outburst, “That was too much, wasn’t it?”
You look at him directly in the eye, the worry-filled ones are now replaced with a softer gaze. God, he really needed to stop looking at you like a kid. It would only make this set-up more awkward!
“No,” he mumbles, “It...It wasn't too much…”
“Oh.” you cleared your throat, flustered and looking away from his face, “Well, okay then goodbye then Nanami-sa-”
You needed to get out of this conversation quick.
“Kento.”
Your gaze snaps directly towards him, clearly taken aback by the correction.
“What?”
“We’re technically married now, right?” he softly corrected, “Call me Kento.”
“Oh,” You uttered again, this time softly. You looked down on your shoes, it seemed like the floor looked really interesting now, “Then bye-bye, Kento.”
“Bye Y/N.”
He leaves you standing there, cursing yourself because of your erratic heartbeat at the way he says your name in that voice. First name basis? okay, totally normal for sort-of lovers, right?

@iaal oh god I have so much more. a continuation of this post, so the posts don’t get absurdly long on people’s dashes lmao
I’m just gonna continue chronologically which means nothing good happens for a while after the bike saga but.
we get to wednesday, my third day at the job.
in the semi-rural town I was in, there were two high schools: an all-boys “non-academic” school and an all-gender “low-academic” school. basically, none of these students were expected to go to college, because we were “just” a farming and manufacturing hub. (huge note here that these kids were all brilliant, bright, and cool as fuck even at these “less advanced” campuses.) my school was the all-gender school, not the all-boys school.
...lol.
anyway, third day on the job, my supervisor stomped over to my desk. he said in English, “are you kidding me? come on.” (that will be burned into my brain for the rest of my life, btw, because this man almost never spoke English to me, and hearing him use a semi-casual English phrase THREW me.) in Japanese, he continued: “you’re supposed to be at your other school today.”
yeah, so. I was the assistant english teacher at the all-boys school, too.
and I was late, because I went to my low-academic school like I thought I was meant to. I was horrified. here’s a fun fact about the JET program: they tell you about your school MONTHS before you move to japan. and nowhere, not on ANY document, was this other school mentioned. nonetheless, my supervisor just started SHOUTING the other school name at me. just, repeatedly screaming it, to the point where other teachers in the work room ran over to defuse/understand the situation.
somehow I figured out what was going on; that I was meant to be at my “second school” and I was making him look bad by fucking up my schedule.
I pulled out my map, because I literally never traveled without it thanks, and found the other school. I hopped on my bike. I got there as the baseball team finished their morning routine outside and they all ran over to me like OOOHHHH NEW TEACHERRR WHERE ARE YOU FROM? PLEASE TEACH ME ENGLISH DO YOU LIKE BASEBALL? lmao it was absolutely amazing ;__;
and it was actually kind of good fortune that we collided because their coach was able to guide me straight to the secretary, rather than me wandering around half-lost on the campus, which saved me some time. I was only about 30 minutes late, all told, which wasn’t great, but not the end of the world? still, I met the secretary and she seemed really put off. like, we walked over to these lockers, she showed me my locker, and when it was empty, she did a double take. and she said since I didn’t have indoor shoes with me, I’d have to borrow the school’s designated slippers for delinquent boys who also forgot their indoor shoes.
a second fun fact for today’s story: I wear a US women’s size 5. my feet. are tiny. I shuffled around that school all day like a fuckin slapstick ass clown in the men’s-sized spare slipper and when I tell you my shins were BRUISED from falling over and over... LMFAO
anyway. when I finally left school that day, my bike. was not. where I left it. I was lowkey losing my mind because that bike was the only good thing in my life at that point. I tearfully retreated back into the school after circling the WHOLE campus looking for it, and asked the secretary if she could drive me home, and she was like, “I don’t think your bike will fit in my car” and I said “yeah...my bike’s gone.” and she was like “isn’t it in the teacher’s bike parking across the street?”
at some point, someone moved my bike from guest parking to teacher parking, in its own building across the street. she realized then, when I was just staring at her like, “tf is teacher’s parking?” that I didn’t get a tour of the campus like she thought I had during my arrival to the town a few days prior. you see, on my first day in town, my supervisor was meant to drive me to the grocery store. the bank. the bikeshop. and my two fucking campuses. he didn’t. i was supposed to have already BEEN to this campus. I should have already known about my locker, I should have left spare indoor shoes!!! we both realized the fuckup at the same time, the secretary and me.
up until that point, she thought I was just a typical selfish American moron who usually leaves bikes in the wrong place, shows up late to work, and didn’t know Japanese people wore different shoes inside schools. she apologized to me, like, really sincerely, and then offered to drive me home so I could avoid the storm outside. I could get my bike back another time. I told her I was ok; I’d honestly gotten used to being out in the rain by now.
on my way back to my apartment, I started to cry. I mean, I’d held it together pretty well the last few days, but having someone else recognize that maybe I was being set up to fail hit me at that point. I stopped to get off my bike because I legit started sobbing and couldn’t see straight. I just crouched down next to a rice field and cried in the rain.
when I stood up a few minutes later, I took a photo.
Tumblr media
I was in the middle of nowhere, sopping wet, but man. look how pretty. and that mountain... the photo didn’t capture it quite right but I remember it exactly. I loved that mountain.

Mid-Millennium Inception : Chapter 1
Charlotte, NC USA   October 2, 2019
“Mom…. Mawmaw…… I’ll be fine,” you say while unloading the car.  Your eyes roll in the back of your head, the slightest annoyance hidden in your voice, while a caring smirk forms on your face.
You, a short slightly thick brunette, rolls her luggage into the airport.  Wearing your favorite worn black low top converses, black Adidas track pants, oversized light purple hoodie and black baseball cap that says coffee.  Right before parting ways, your mom starts to cry.  Your grandmother, one of the strongest people you know, looks at you with glassy eyes but not a tear drops, at least not in front of you.
“Guys, why are you looking at me like that?  Do you want me to stay here forever with you?” you laugh while you hug your mom first.  “No and yes,” she chuckles, “I know, I’m just going to miss you.”
“I’m going to miss you too.  Both of you. But I’ve put this off too long.”
“I know, just be careful. Okay!!  You’re my only baby,” You look at your grandmother now, instead of tears you see exasperation in her eyes towards her only daughter being dramatic.
After your last farewells, you head to your gate to wait for boarding…
. . . . . . . . . . .
Seoul, South Korea
Twenty two hours later and with the worst sinus headache ever, you’re finally off the plane.  After collecting your luggage, you head to the exit to meet the driver.  The airport isn’t that crowded today, thank god.  As you come out, you see your name on a piece of cardboard and wave at the driver. “Hello” you both greet each other.
This is your first time out of the country.  You know the language from self-studying, but that’s it.  You know no one here….. AT ALL!!  But that doesn’t scare you as much as never leaving your small town.  Finally, after years of slaving and being patient, you are in Korea.  There’s been some bumps in the road, but that never stopped you.  You started to become interested in Korean food when you worked at a Japanese/Korean fusion restaurant.  You found a company, in Korea, who’s willing to take you in and teach you.
You’re heading to Gangnam, to the restaurant and where you’ll be staying.   Dropped off in front of Kim’s Village, an eight story tall apartment building, you meet an assiduous looking man.  He looks to be in his forties.   “Hello, Genevieve Ainsley, correct? I’m Mr. Lee,” he bows.
“Yes sir.  Hello Mr. Lee, it’s nice to meet you. You can call me Eve though for short,” you smile.
“Of course.  I’m here to help you get settled into your new place and answer any questions you may have and also make sure all paperwork gets handled correctly.  So let me help you with your luggage and head up.” He grabs the two large suitcases, rolling them around and heads inside after pressing the code.  As Eve walks in with her carry-on and back-pack, she looks around the start of a small corridor that leads through the other side of the building.  There is the first floor of apartments, which is about 6 in total it seems, mailboxes and 2 sets of stairs, one on each side of the building.
Mr. Lee lifts the two suitcases up to take up the stairs.  “Oh,.. Mr. Lee, wait! What floor are we going to? Give me one of those or at least let me help,” Eve pleads as she goes to grab one of the cases.  But he’s already going up the stairs, carrying them like they weigh nothing and not full of clothes and small kitchenware.
“We are heading to the 8th floor.  There is only one apartment available right now for you to be housed in,” he explains, no strain in his voice as he carries over a hundred pounds up the staircase.  You stand there gawking for a second.
At the top, you’re huffing a little.  You’re not fat per say, curvy with some small love handles, but you aren’t that fit either.  Maybe I should start working out, you think to yourself, while Mr. Lee is standing there with not even a drop of sweat or alteration in his breathing.  Damn he’s fitter than I thought he’d be. I need to figure out his routine.
There’s a door right in front of the stairway with the number 802 on it.  With the way Mr. Lee is standing in front of it, Eve assumes it’s her new place.  He starts to open the door, but gets a call and answers it first.  “Yes Mr. Kim,” he answers. .  Kim Kwanjoon, CEO of KJ Inc., owns multiple buildings and businesses in almost every industry, including the restaurant that you’ll be working at.  They talk for a few minutes and hang up.
“Mrs. Ainsley,” he voices, while opening the door to the apartment, “there seems to be a problem at the restaurant.  As you know the chef isn’t back until Monday, which is when you are supposed to start.  But our sous chef called in just now.  So we actually need you to come in tonight. We seem to be short staffed.  Is that a problem for you?” He takes his shoes off at the entry.
“Of course not. I’ll try to help as much as I can,” slightly exasperated. Hopefully he didn’t hear that.
“I’ll let them know.  I can’t stay now, because I need to go to the restaurant.  Can you be there in the next 2 hours? The restaurant is only two blocks away from this apartment, so it’ll not take long to get there.”
“Yes sir, I can do that.”  He brings your luggage into the living room and hands you a packet of information.
“I apologize I can’t go over this with you right now. I’ll come back tomorrow to explain more.  The first page is things you will need today,” he opens it to show you quickly, “If you’ve any questions call me, my card with my number is at the top.  Do you have a cell phone?”
“Yes, I got a temporary at the airport, until I receive my registration card.”
“I’m impressed.  Most foreigners don’t think of those things when they come to work here,” looking at his watch. “Be there by 4pm, the front door and I’ll let you in.”
“Yes sir”
“Goodbye Mrs. Ainsley.  I’ll see you a couple hours.”
“Goodbye Mr. Lee”
You stand in the living room, staring at the door for a few minutes.  Dazed with what’s happening.  OMG!?! I thought I’d have time to rest and unpack today and this weekend.  My head is still killing me, I slept like 2 hours on the plane.  What am I going to do?  You look at your phone and see its 2:23 and then start to move.  You roll your largest suitcase down the short hall to the bedroom at the end.  No time to really look around, you get the things you need out and pop 2 pills for your headache.  And then head back to the bathroom.
After a steaming hot 30 min shower, to hopefully get rid of your headache and get the 24 hours of plane grime off of you, you get ready for work.  Black non-slip kitchen Vanes with white soles, light gray cargo chef jogger pants, black tank top with a dark purple chef jacket (Eve’s favorite) over top, hair parted on the right with tapered side bangs in a tight bun in the back.  With minimal makeup applied, you double, triple check you have everything.  Grab a light jacket and walk out the door at 3:30 with knife kit in hand.
You’re standing at the front already when Mr. Lee walks up. “Early. Great.” You bow to greet him.  He takes you straight to the kitchen, since it's Friday afternoon.  The décor of the restaurant is very upscale café style with a Korean architectural influence to it.  There are three floors to it, the top floor being outside seating.  With no time to really chat, he shows you around. The kitchen is very well organized and clean.  With the dish pit to your right and the start of the server station to your left, the kitchen has a U shape to it, with in and out doors for the servers.  If you keep walking straight from the IN door, you will have the dish pit along the right wall with the clean dishes at the end, then storage and the back exit.  To the left is the space for servers to walk and grab food to go out the other side and the hot line. On the left wall, on the other side of the OUT door, is the cold station.
Everyone is getting ready for the busy Friday night.  He takes you to the first station you will be working at, the hot station.  Being familiar with grills and stove, he put you there first to observe and help.  “Hello, I’m Youngjae,” a new face gushed.
“I’m Eve. It’s nice to meet you,” you reply.  He goes over the station with you and some of the dishes.  After a while, orders start to come.  You watch for a little, but then Youngjae starts to get overwhelmed.  Your instincts kick in, just by watching him you’ve picked most of the dishes.  You start to help him out.
When it comes to cooking and creating dishes, you could say you’re otherworldly.  It’s like magic comes out of your hands.  You picked up on cooking quickly in school and in the industry.  You remember everything that you’ve learned, like the back of your hand.  But you still don’t consider yourself that great.  You’ve had limited chances to explore different foods, so you don’t consider your skills impeccable.
Youngjae is impressed though, “Wow, Eve. You catch on quick. How long have you been cooking?”
“I’ve been cooking for about 10 years.”
“Seriously.  You are only a cook. Shouldn’t you be a chef?”
“I was a sous chef back home but I want to be a master chef.  So I need to learn different cuisines and I wanted to travel, so here I am,” you beam shyly towards him.
“You must have started young.  You look younger than me.”  He laughs.
And there it is, your first insecurity.  You don’t look it, but you’re 30 years old.  Everyone usually thinks you’re anywhere between 22 and 26.  But you keep your mouth shut.  You started late on your dream, not realizing it until you were already in college for 3 years.  You had to start over pretty much and go to culinary school for another 3 years. During all that, you worked 2 jobs and also helped support your family.  While in college your dad became a drunk and quit his job, killing himself slowly.  You knew why, but also couldn’t accept why he was doing this.  Especially since he taught you to be stronger than that.  Why couldn’t he?  Finely he did die. You were sad, of course. You were a daddy’s girl until he changed.  But you were also relieved.  Because you felt it was holding you back.  You couldn’t leave your mom and mawmaw to deal with him.   So after a few years, you finally stabilized the financial situation with your mom and yourself, almost going into extreme debt because of your dad (and yourself trying to cope with all of it – online shopping).
Now here you are.  Living the dream you never gave up on.  Pushing the little insecurity down, you and Youngjae keep talking when able.  Finding out he’s like third in command, the Lead Line Cook.  He is 26, blonde hair, blue eyes with the help of contacts and a head taller than you, with a lanky build.  While talking to one of the dishwashers comes along to put clean dishes away and take dirty ones to the pit.   He comes up to talk to Youngjae.
“Hey man, what’s up? Who’s the new girl?” The dark chestnut haired boy says.  He looks young with his dark brown doe eyes with flakes of gold, bright with curiosity.  With his bunny smile, his cheeks bunched up and out to make cute crinkles at the sides of his eyes.  He looks even younger and innocent now.
“Oh!!!  Hello, I’m Genevieve, but you can call me Eve.”
“Cool, I’m Jungkook.”
They go through normal pleasantries.  Jungkook is 22 and wants to work in the restaurant industry.  He is starting as a dishwasher and working his way up.
The night finally ends and cleaning is almost over.  You and Jungkook have become fast friends in just one day.  All the boys in the kitchen have come to like you.  They even ask if you want to come out for drinks that night.  You would love to, but you are just too exhausted.  They understand and say maybe next time.
Everyone grabs their things and heads out the door.  You start walking towards your new apartment.  The guys head the same direction and talk with you on the way.  Jungkook waits a little to  make sure you get into the building before following the rest.
You get inside, shower and finally relax in the bed.  You thought this was going to be a bad day, but actually turned out decent.
. . . . . . . . . . .
On top of Building 63, with the lit city underneath.  He stands on the edge looking out at the beautiful place that has grown so much.
“Hello, Hyung.  I was wondering when you would show up.” Taemin spouts.
“When did you finally get back?” Kia asks.
“I just returned today.  I figured it was time to come back and stay this time.”
“Father will be happy to hear that.”
“I’m sure he will.” Taemin says with indifference in his voice.

My Experience Working in Japan
Tumblr media
Fear not--it’s not all gloom and doom.
Today I thought I’d talk a bit about what it’s been like working in Japan for half a decade. I imagine that my experience is probably different from someone who lives in a more metropolitan area like Tokyo.
Why did you choose Hokkaido?
Hokkaido is the northernmost island/prefecture of Japan. It’s the biggest prefecture and plays a huge role in Japan’s agriculture. Since it’s a separate island from Honshu (the island with Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and pretty much everywhere else of note), not too many foreigners choose to live here. However, there is a small but ever-growing community of winter sports lovers who move here long-term.
I studied abroad in Hokkaido when I was in uni and fell in love with it. What can I say? I grew up on a farm in a county that had a grand total of three traffic lights, and I just hate the hustle and bustle and endless concrete of big cities. I’d go crazy if I had to live somewhere like Tokyo. I need to see green, I need to hear birds instead of sirens.
What was your first job, and how did you get it?
Tumblr media
I knew by about my third or fourth year of uni that I wanted to go to Japan for a while, so I double majored in the two areas that I knew would help get me a decent job there: Japanese, and English with a focus on linguistics, second language acquisition, and English as a Second Language (ESL). I also obtained a CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from Cambridge. There are many different TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificates out there, but the CELTA is the most esteemed and recognized worldwide, so that was what I got.
I ended up looking for teaching jobs in Sapporo, even though it was a much bigger city than I wanted to live in. It has a population of 2 million, and the city I had my eyes on was less than 1/4 of Sapporo’s size. But I couldn’t find any teaching jobs in the smaller city. The job-hunting was difficult, because unless you have a spousal visa or something, the employer has to be able to sponsor a work visa. But sponsoring work visas is very expensive for the company, so many smaller businesses can’t give you a work visa.
There are many 英会話 (Eikaiwa) English Conversation schools in Japan. Basically, the entire English education curriculum and its implementation in Japanese public schools is...atrocious. Absolutely worthless. The vast majority of students study English for all 6 years of middle and high school and can’t have a simple conversation by the end of it, though they can read and write it somewhat decently. So the Eikaiwa industry was born, and these schools promise parents that their children can have native-like pronunciation and get jobs in fields where English is necessary if they pay outrageous costs for weekly 50-minute lessons.
There are many big-name Eikaiwas in operation throughout the country, but many of these are so-called ブラック企業 (black kigyou, a.k.a. black businesses) which means that they commit various labor law violations. Most foreigners they hire don’t speak Japanese and aren’t aware of their legal rights, or what they can do when they are violated. A quick google search will show you tons of horror stories from foreigners hired by eikaiwas who didn’t receive pay, were screamed at for calling in sick to work, etc. Basically, most corporate eikaiwas don’t care who is teaching the kids, as long as they are white. You are a piece of meat to them.
So I avoided all the big-name places and found a small, privately owned Eikaiwa in Sapporo, run by a fellow foreigner. I had a skype interview with her from my living room in America, she hired me, and I moved to Sapporo. I worked there for three years. Despite having a fellow ex-pat as a boss, I was still subjected to the mistreatment of the corporate eikaiwas. No matter how sick I was, despite the fact that we were forbidden from wearing masks (kids need to see our mouths for pronunciation), and despite the fact that I was constantly around infants, I was ordered to “take an aspirin and get to work.” I was under the impression I was enrolled in the Japanese pension, but after two years of working there I learned that we were not, in fact, enrolled in the pension. This is illegal, and I was forced to pay about $4,000 USD in backpay to the pension. My employers refused to provide assistance paying this even though by law the employer is required to pay 50% of an employee’s pension.
So yeah. Not too fun really. The kids were really cute, though, and I didn’t hate teaching English. But after 3 years, I was ready to move on.
What’s your current job, and how did you get it?
Tumblr media
The three years I worked at the Eikaiwa, I studied Japanese at least one hour every night, and at least 8-10 hours on the weekends. I had the conversation and grammar down, but my kanji and vocabulary was lacking so all I did was read, read, read. Thanks to that, I passed the JLPT N1 and my Japanese reached a level that I could survive in a Japanese workplace.
Fed up with my current job and jaded of teaching, I looked for translation jobs in companies in Hokkaido. But there were absolutely zilch. I realized that (in Hokkaido), there were no jobs for foreigners other than teaching English. The situation was so hopeless that I actually looked for jobs back in the United States and applied for a couple. Moving back home after only 3 years of living abroad felt like defeat and I didn’t want to leave Japan, but I just couldn’t take the eikaiwa industry anymore, and I knew that I would only spiral further into depression in a metropolis like Tokyo.
In June of 2017, I sent out some applications and applied to headhunting agencies in America. And in August, a friend here in Hokkaido called me with some incredible news. A student of hers was working as a temp translator for a company in the city I had originally wanted to live in. He needed a replacement, and would I be interested?
I couldn’t believe it. Translation was my dream job, and it was in my dream city. I immediately called to find out more, and I looked up how to make a Japanese resume. Did you know that resumes are printed on A3 paper and hand written?! Good lord, I spent about 9 hours writing and re-writing it because I don’t have good handwriting in Japanese. I went in for an interview. They said they would match the pay of my current job and then some, that I would have business trips to Tokyo, that there was a very likely chance I would get to see other parts of Japan due to this job, that I would be able to build experience in multiple fields at once, that they would give me all the benefits that they are legally obligated to give (lol), and they would let me go home to America for extended periods as long as I took my work laptop and didn’t mind doing a bit of work while I was there. It was everything I dreamed of, so of course I accepted the position.
And the cherry on top? The guy who gave me the interview had a very unusual last name, which I’ll say is K___. At the end of the interview, he asked, “By the way, do you know anyone else named K___?”
Me: “Well, actually I do have a student whose last name is K___.”
And he smiles and says, “Yeah, that’s my daughter.”
In a city of 2 million people, about 700 children aged 0-18 were enrolled in my Eikaiwa. Out of those 700, I taught about 120. And out of all of those kids, one of them turned out to be the daughter of the man who gave me my interview and would become my boss! WHAT ARE THE CHANCES?! It still blows my mind to think about.
Later, after I was hired and we went for drinks after work, he told me that the moment he had seen my resume and the name of the Eikaiwa, he had gone to his daughter and asked, “Hey, do you know omoi-no-hoka-sensei? What’s she like?” His daughter said a bunch of really nice things about me, and he decided that if his daughter liked me, then I must be a good addition to the company. Before the interview he had already decided to hire me.
It just goes to show that you should always be your best because you never know who’s watching!
So yeah, I quit my job at the eikaiwa, moved to my dream city, and started my dream job two years ago. My coworkers are all really, really nice. My bosses are all great. I’m the only person in my whole office that speaks English though, so sometimes I get a bit lonely in that regard. But because I’m the only one who speaks English and this is a global company with headquarters in America, I get asked to do a bunch of miscellaneous tasks, so I’m never bored! Sometimes this means I have a lot of overtime, though. It’s not uncommon to have a 12 hour work-day. But in my downtime between translation requests, I make most of these Tumblr posts.

I'm really tired. Everyone was very surprised I came to work today was how badly injured I am. Honestly I probably could have stayed home but it's not like I didn't have a good time at work. It was a really good day. I am tired.
I slept good last night. I woke up once but I wasn't as freaked out and sleeping with the eye mask on definitely helps. I got up with my alarm at 7:30 and got dressed and felt very cute. I love my outfit today. It was only like 75 degrees out so I actually could wear sleeves and that was nice. It also helped protect my arm a little bit. The one. My elbow is pretty raw. And it hurts to bend and pick up stuff but we survived.
I had waffles for breakfast and then I headed to work. Kenneth set up tables and I unfold a chair since I couldn't pick anything up really. Honestly doing the chairs kind of hurt my arm but I was okay. The Cannery was fun but we had a big stressful moment because the person who was supposed to be doing the printmaking was an hour late. So nothing was set up and we didn't realize until right as the kids were getting there and I really shouldn't have moving to process so I had to do my best but then I got upset because I was in pain and I yelled down and somebody had to come up and do it because I was just so frustrated.
The Cannery went good. The kids were really sweet. And I stumble on my words a few times during The Company Store but mostly it was very good.
I got a half hour break. I eat my rice and chilled. And then I gave my door. There was a little bit of a problem because we ran into the neighborhood tour but it all worked out. Again I had some trouble talking because are being distracted and being in pain but at the end of the parent on my tour said that she liked it a lot and then I did a really great job and she just kept telling me how nice it was. I love giving Forest there. Just good because I have two in a row tomorrow.
I left there at 12:30 and just missed the bus as I was coming up the hill. A sweet old man was sitting on the bench and he told me he was mostly blind and asked if I could tell him when the 80 bus came. And I said of course and we talked about how nice the weather was and then his bus came. And thankfully mine came just a couple minutes after. I was texting chelsi that would be late and she told me I shouldn't even come because she was worried about me. But honestly I wanted to go see the school nurse. I don't know when you need to go to the doctor. I feel like no one ever taught me that and I just feel like I'm bothering people or it's a waste of time. When I was a kid we never went to the doctor unless we were dying. My dad didn't go until after he was done having shingles. I don't have good references for this. So I got to school and I went to the school nurse and she told me that it looks bad but it's going to keep spreading. But the blood vessels are going to spread out and then lighten. She said if it gets really bad in the next couple days like it swells up or I get a hard knot somewhere else on my leg that I should be concerned and then go to the doctor. But she said that it doesn't look that bad All Things Considered. She said it looks bad. And everyone else agreed. Because all day and that's all I had to hear. I told the story what happened like 75 times today. But I was good.
I picked up the kids and I got lots of hugs which is really what I wanted today. I was talking to Marcus and joking about that. Everyone kept saying that they would have stayed home if they were made but for real what was I going to do. Lay here and be sad. I'd rather be at work and be safe. We spend the kids will come and give me hugs and that's always nice.
We made mosaics today. Every day this week, which is just tomorrow and Wednesday, will introduce a different project that the kids have requested. So it was nice to be able to kind of come together and have options and tomorrow add more options to the board of what they can make and it's just going to be good.
We had a nice time at recess and dinner was fine. There was some conflict with one of the staff members because she thought we were taking up too many tables and kept trying to tell her this is where we always sit and she disagreed with us and I just didn't even get into it with her I'd let Chelsea handle it. I just couldn't deal with that today.
But art was really fun and I was very proud of the kids. And it was a fairly quick day. At the end of the day I ended up staying behind because one of my students parents was just really concerned. She was really worried about how they're communication is with her daughter and she doesn't know what to do. Apparently they live in a neighborhood where the girl can sleep through anything until there's gunshots. And then she freaks out and can't sleep. I don't blame her. But she doesn't feel like they can talk to each other. So I suggested they do a mommy and me Journal where they can talk to each other through that. Where it's a judgement free zone and they can get things out. Maybe it'll help. I felt really bad and I wish there was something I could have done more for them. I really like the girl. But I understand where mother is coming from and it's really hard. For everybody.
When I got outside I had to run for the bus. But he didn't make me pay for it so that was cool. And then I got back to my bike and went up to James's place.
He made me a pizza bagel. And we hung out until all of the D&D people got there. First time in almost three months! It's been too long since I've seen all of them. But it was nice to be around other people for a bit. I got to try fancy Japanese Kit Kats because one of them had just gotten back from Japan. It was really fun.
As their game got started though I headed out. Said goodbye to everyone. Tentatively told Jordan that we may still be able to go to his birthday. But I'm not sure if we're going back to Philly for Father's Day and now so who knows what's going on there. And then I came back home.
Where I became crazy angry because again the new people next door locked the back gate. So I couldn't get into my Ally. So I couldn't get into my apartment. I had to go all the way around the block to the front drag my bike in through the door where it does not fit. And go back into my apartment. I went outside and I kicked the fuck out of that gate. I broke that lock right off which is what I told them I was going to do. I gave them a warning that if they locked me out of my apartment again I would remove the lock and I was serious. If they do it again I will remove the door. I cannot wait to not live in this apartment anymore because those people next door have ruined it for me. Besides any issue I had in this apartment as soon as they moved and they have made everything around here miserable. They put trash in the alleyway they let their dog shit everywhere and they lock me out of the place I live. They do not own that public shared space. And it is ridiculous that I have to continue to ask not to be locked out. I told them to put on a type of gate where you can open it from both sides they didn't listen. I had my dad fix the gate so that it would stay closed when that broke I fixed it. And then when it broke again their maintenance people fixed it and out of the second one that broke her most immediately. The spring is still whole and that should be good enough. If it is not you guys can then put on a different piece I am not fixing it again. It is so crazy to me that they think that they can lock that gate when I live here. They know they're not the only ones that can get through that gate and it is insanity. I will not put up with it anymore.
But after I did that I calm down. They will not lock me out again so there's that. So I felt better. I brought Sweet Pea inside and I went and took a shower. My new dress came that I got on eBay it fits me great and I feel super cute in it. And basically the rest of my day has been great. I'm very sleepy. I'm going to go have a snack and then I'm going to brush my teeth and go to bed. I have double doors tomorrow and then teaching at the school. I think it's going to be an excellent day. James has his second interview and I'm very excited for him. I hate that it's on the phone for him because that sounds horrible but I hope that it goes well. He's such a good boy and he deserves to get this job. And I hope you all have a great night tonight. Sleep well everyone. Be safe out there.

7.9.19
Class. Felt a bit jipped since I was placed with lower level people so the exercise ended quite early.
Was planning to head to Lentils but Lorraine texted me after class (she had been sent downstairs with Dave so I thought she already left) and asked if I wanted to chill. I had to jump off the train since she wasn’t even at the station and waited for her. She asked what I wanted to do and I said I was hungry so she said we should go to Town Hall. She asked if I had anything going on later and I said nothing so she teased me for being a loner. On the train she gave me shit for wearing sunglasses since I looked like a douche but I told her my eyes are sensitive to light and I pointed out the old Asian people wearing sunglasses so she said I look like a FOB which I said is fine but I’m still not a douche. We discussed class since she went down with David and his teaching style but also talked about Libby. We said that she’s pretty nice but she is pretty insecure and doesn’t seem to realize it. When we got off at Town Hall I mentioned to her how Libby one time asked if I knew what’s been going on with her the past few months and when I said yes, she asked how I knew and I said that she always mentions it in her circs.
Lorraine suggested some food places including Pepper Lunch but we ended up going to the udon place that I ate at with Mina and Hyejin.  While walking there she mentioned how Libby likes someone at the Pulse but she wouldn’t say who although she gave me his initials C.C. which I thought was Chris Combes especially when I asked if he’s a dancer.
She asked me how long I planned to stay at the Pulse and I had to fess up to her that this would likely be my last term. She seemed visibly upset about it and asked if there were any alternatives and I told her the deal with the farm work and trying to get a sponsored job. I also told her about how I had no idea what I’m going to do back in the US and explained to her how I can’t just hold a part time job in the US like I did here in Australia. I also was telling her how I was scared I would end up like my cousins who are single and not really going anywhere but she reminded me that I am not like them because I don’t want to live comfortably and I want do something more. I started telling her how I think a lot of what is holding me down lately is just being exhausted and being tired of trying so hard all the time only for me to fail like my struggles with engineering and relationships.
She asked me if I wanted to head to Tomntoms coffee and chill there. It was like a Korean starbucks from what she told me so I said I’m down, I’m always down. I think we started talking about people dating each other at the Pulse and I mentioned Zac and how he mentioned there was something going on with another girl. I said he never told me who it is and she asked me who I think it is and since I didn’t know her initials I just said she was in today’s class and she immediately guessed Courtney. I asked her why she though Courtney and she said that Courtney just has that personality that she thinks guys would like. I also brought up how Anna said something along the lines of “I want you Chris, I haven’t had you in so long” and how nobody seemed to be laughing at that except me but Lorraine said her and Amandine were trying to keep their laughter in.
After ordering coffee, Lorraine said she was going to use the bathroom and I realized Yuna had called me to my surprise. She apologized for bailing on me last night and she sounded sincere but I told her if I knew she was working so long, I would’ve picked another day. She was asking if I was free that night. I was having a bit of trouble hearing her so I stepped outside but went back in. She said she had some training to do but would be free later so she’d text me when she finished. Lorraine was laughing at me and said I was talking with an accent and asked if I was speaking another language.
When we settled in a little bit, she told me she was going through some things too. She said she had been second guessing her relationship because she doesn’t really put priority into it since she’s always busy with work or acting. She often gets home late. I asked her if this is because she’s just so busy and she wants to put in effort or if she just really doesn’t see him as a priority and she said it’s the latter. She doesn't really put in any effort to see him and said that he loves her more than she loves him and actually said she loves him but isn’t in love with him. But she did tell me she could see herself marrying him and that he was perfect in the sense that he was very accommodating in that he’s patient in letting her follow her dreams and that he would be willing to move to the US in 2-3 years like she wants. She told me James said it sounded like she’s breaking up with him but she said that she was just voicing how she thought and that she didn’t think it was fair to him. He told her she should talk to her high school friends about it since they knew her best. So she was planning to meet up with them later but she said she knew what they were going to say. I told her how I felt, especially about being with someone out of convenience.
She told me she shouldn’t been in a relationship because she’s selfish and she’s used to having things go her way. I asked her if she didn’t want to be in relationship but she said she did.
We eneded up bitching about the Pulse like the prices and how unstructured it is and how they make us figure out a lot of things for ourselves. Not only does it waste our time, it’s misdirectional and we’re wasting money. We talked about Tony’s activity earlier that day and how he had no idea what he was doing to make a good activity and yet he had already done a few yet still didn’t know what he needed to do. Not only that when Chris was questioning him about it, it didn’t seem like Tony really understand the point Chris was trying to make.
Yuna texted me and called saying she finished but I missed her call so I called her back. She asked where I was and when I said at a cafe near Town Hall she said she could be there in about 30 minutes so she would text me when she arrives.
Lorraine and I talked more for a bit but then she started fighting with her boyfriend over text so we didn’t talk so much after that. Yuna called me to tell me she’s in front of the woolies so I went to meet her. When I went to say goodbye to Lorraine, she hugged me tighter and longer than usual.
I saw Yuna sitting down waiting for me. She was facing towards the Woolies so she didn’t see me come from behind. She was quite excited to see me and gave me a big hug. She asked if I was hungry (I wasn’t that hungry because of the coffee but I could eat) and so we went to get food. I asked her what kind of training she had to do at work and she said crime training against robberies which surprised me. We passed by the hotel where Clara and I had drinks so I mentioned that place has a good happy hour so she said let’s go afterwards. I noticed while we were walking she would stay fairly close to me and our hands would brush up against each other sometimes. She wanted Japanese food so we eneded up going to the rice bowl place next to Marukame udon. She got a teriyaki chicken bowl while I got a curry plate (I realized I accidentally ordered one without meat). She gave me some of her food and I let her try my curry as well. She likes spicy food and added more spice to her food. I got her some water and showed her some pics from Hawaii and the wedding. She seemed a little bit reserved when we were eating at first but started to open up a little more as we kept eating. She asked about where I work and I showed her Kintaro’s work location. Yuna also asked if US was cheaper or Australia and I said living and working in Australia is more expensive. I asked if she missed Misaki and she said of course and I said she lost her cooking partner and she showed me some of the food she made in her apartment with Misaki and some of their classmates. She asked me if I had to exchange money when I came to Australia and I said I did and she asked why since we both used dollars. She asked what color and I said green, everything green. She asked if even the coins are green and I said no, silver except for pennies which are copper but she didn't know what that is.
Afterwards, we went to the Albion Hotel although we passed it. We ended up buying a pitcher of Sapporo and she was so excited to see Japanese beer that she took a picture. It was the first time she saw Japanese beer in an Australian pub. She said it was better to share and I know she can drink quite a lot so I knew we should get a pitcher. She said she’d get the next round. We ended up sitting at the same place Clara and I sat.
I asked if she likes sake but she said not really. I told her I started to like sake after working at Kintaro and told her about junmai, ginjo and daiginjo but she just started laughing because I knew more about it than her.
I told her that in the US we need to drive and showed her a picture of my car which she found cool. She didn’t have a car in Kanagawa but her parents did.
Vaguely remember talking to her about pasta and showing her ravioli. She likes Attack on Titan like me. Her favorite is Levi and Mikasa and I agreed but I told her I like Sasha because she’s so funny.
I told her about how we call raccoons trash pandas and how Aussies call the ibis, bin chickens, which she found amusing. I showed her the pet birds I had.
I asked if she did any sports and she said yes and showed me pictures of a skiing trip she went on here in Australia with her classmates.
I taught her a bit of english since she told me about the difficulty she had with lashes and rashes. She showed me some of the beer they have at the pub. I asked if she worked as a bartender before but she hadn’t. She asked me if there’s any words she can use besides cute and I told her adorable (I also said Yuna is adorable as an example). At some point I also told her how certain English words mean different things like tension, which is a good thing in Japanese (excitement) but is generally bad in English unless it is something like sexual tension.
At one point, she showed me some pictures from when she visited Hawaii and I was actually surprised since the picture of her looked quite different from how she looks now. I said she she is still cute but in Japanese which I guess sounded weird so I had to tell her in English that she looks pretty in both pictures. She also showed me a picture of her parents. Her dad is quite tall, even taller than me by but 1 or 2 cm.
She showed me the screenshots she took of her crime training and was saying how she didn’t understand it and asked if I understood but I said I didn’t without the background info. Her phone wallpaper was some Japanese model. She also told me that when she was younger she wanted to either work with animals or learn English but learning English was more practical so she picked that. She also showed me her dog. Her favorite animals are dogs and dolphins and we talked about how smart dolphins are. She told me the cafe she works at, Komma, is fairly new but all the employees are Asian. She said they’re nice but she likes working at the bar more because they’re Australian so she can work on her English.
She had to go to the toilet many times which surprised me since it’s usually me that needs to go. She bought some Carlton Draught for us to try and we liked it.
Yuna was craving ice cream so we walked over to Regent’s place. We saw some cheesecake at Uncle Tetsu’s so Yuna asked if I wanted to share so she bought one and we tried a chocolate one which was pretty good. Afterwards, we went to Matcha and shared the green tea and black sesame. Yuna really liked it because earlier I asked her if she likes dessert and she said she likes ice cream but doesn’t like cake or really sweet things. She kept mentioning how much she loved the dessert. When we sat down to eat it, she actually took a spoonful and fed me so I did the same with her. When we finished, I asked if she wanted to walk around so we went near Mooi and she looked at the earrings. She showed me which ones she liked but said they were expensive. We also tried on some sunnies, some hats, and some headbands with the LINE characters. She was shy about me taking pictures of her.
We walked around more Regent’s like looking at the doriyaki and were going to check out Daiso but it was closed. There was a picture of deer in Nara and I asked if she had been there and she said yes. I asked if she liked deer but she said not as much as dolphins or dogs. I remarked how everything in Australia closes early and how Daiso is expensive there which she agreed. We also checked out the restaurants nearby which I think she had gone to a few. We didn’t know what to do afterwards so we just walked around aimlessly. I asked what she will do tomorrow and she said she will go to a BBQ and invited me but I said I have to work. We passed by a bar she had been to and she said it was nice. I asked if it was expensive and she said not too expensive. We were going to grab just one drink but I got turned away because I was too red. We talked about how crazy that is. In Japan she said everyone is blush and drunk but nobody gets turned away. She asked if I miss the US and I said some things I miss like not being turned away at a bar. I asked if she misses Japan and she said only her family and friends. She also told me that in Australia it is easy to find Japanese food compared to when she lived in Malta. We also passed by her cafe and I told her I would visit her there but she said to visit her when she’s getting off so we can hang out afterwards.
When we passed by a conbini she asked if I like any of the candy there so I said yes and pointed out the sour patch kids and said they have it in the US also. I said they are sour and sweet but not too sweet. She offered to pay for it but I said it was ok. When we opened the bag she took one and fed it to me so I fed some to her too. She really liked them. We were heading towards Darling Harbor and saw a club nearby. She had never been to that club before so we decided to go. On the escalator ride I told her I wanted to try her cooking and she said she would make me a bento and asked what I like. I said anything is fine and she asked what kind of meat I like. When we were trying to find the next escalator we grabbed each others hands and started holding them. On the way down I held her and “Yuna, hontou ni kirei” and she smiled and said thank you. We stood in line for the club and she was trying to hear the music. We took out our IDs but she was shy to show me her passport. When we got in, the cover charge was $25 so we left since it was too expensive. She was really shocked about how expensive it was. When we left, Despacito was playing and she said she liked that song and started singing it. She had a really lovely voice. We mentioned going to karaoke.
We ended up walking around Darling Harbor a bit  and held hands at some points and sitting and talking while feeding each other candy. We looked at the flavors and there was blackcurrant which we don’t have in the US and is apparently illegal. I asked if she liked coffee and she said she did so I said if she goes to Lentils in the daytime, I’ll make her coffee. She asked about Lentils since she forgot the name and said how vegan food is so healthy. We also talked about Thai food and I showed her my favorite, pad see ew. I told her how I get paid tomorrow for the floor manager so she said no wonder I work there. She asked if I’m busy next week and I said just Monday and Wednesday and when she asked why I said I have class. She asked what kind of class and I said acting so she was quite surprised. I asked her what season is her favorite and she said fall (she told me how people in Malta were confused cause Brits call it autumn) because she likes the fall colors and her birthday is in fall. She said she wants to go the beach but when it’s warm so she can wear a bikini and I said let’s go (I really want to see her in a bikini).
We walked back afterwards to the bridge but I told her I would walk her home. At times she would hold my arm and I put my arm around her to keep her warm. She showed me the bar where she works. I commented on how I was surprised that hotels here are bars. There was also the Pyrmont hotel we passed by and she said she had gone there with her roommates a few times and it was a pretty standard bar. We also talked about rent prices and her apartment where she lives on the 9th floor. She asked about renting a car and said she wanted to go to the beach so I said let’s go sometime. When we got to her place, she hugged me tight and thanked me so much and told me to text her and to tell her when I get home. Before I left I asked if I could kiss her and she pulled me against the wall so the guy couldn’t see us and we kissed each other a bit. I wasn’t sure how into me she was but she did kiss me on her own before I left.

Forgiveness, Thankfulness and Remembrance: Chapter 3 - Homeroom Thoughts
From my Quotev.
-❄❄❄ September 6, 2017. 9:01 AM  ❄❄❄-
I look up from my phone as a cute, somewhat short male student with silky, light brown hair and beautiful brown eyes passes me. Oh, isn't he the second guy who passed us in the hallway? He gives me a brief, small smile as we make eye contact. He quickly reaches the fifth and final row to sit in the desk near the window. Ah, so this is our main protagonist.
"Uh, good morning, Baekhyun." Mrs. Mok says, making a slight face as she turns on the SMARTboard behind her. Is this not his usual morning behavior?
He turns to her from looking outside for a moment. "Hi, Mrs. Mok."
"Are you feeling OK today? You usually sit in the front, right beside where Eunju is sitting."
Baekhyun catches my eyes that paced between him and Mrs. Mok. "Your name is Eunju?"
"Yes, I transferred here from Canada for my last year. It's nice to meet you, Baekhyun."
Baekhyun's chest slowly sinks as he exhales. "It's nice to meet you, too." He gives another little smile, but his expression reflects anguish. Should I... ask?
As I open my mouth, Mrs. Mok takes my place. "Baekhyun, are you feeling alright?"
"Yes, I'm fine." His tone doesn't make it seem that way. Just as Baekhyun finishes his sentence, more students file in, filling the seats. I guess it's not my business to ask what's wrong, but I still can't help but wonder if his mood has something to do with the student he was walking with, this morning. The bell chimes again, then shuffling comes from the speaker on the ceiling's corner to the left of the door.
"Good morning, SGHS." Oh, this is the secretary's morning announcement. "Welcome back from summer vacation, we hope you all had fun. Today's block rotation is 1-2-2-3-4 after homeroom. As a reminder, you only have to be in homeroom before the first block for the first week for attendance."
"The first dance of the year is on the last Friday of this month, the 29th. The theme is Fall Fair, so dress in denim and plaid if you want to. As always, there is a small prize draw, and admission is ₩8200." That equals about $10 CAD. "You can preorder your copy of the yearbook starting October 1st by the office."
"They are ₩45, 600 until December 1st, then they will then be ₩53, 900." That equals around $55 and $65 CAD. Ugh, my other high school had overpriced yearbooks, too. "That is all for today's announcements. This has been Seo Jeonghae, your secretary in the office. Have a wonderful day."
There's a bit more shuffling as Jeonghae ends the announcement, then Mrs. Mok rises from her seat. "Alright, good morning class, I'm Mrs. Mok." She begins to write her name in Hangul on the SMARTboard with the black pen. "As Jeonghae said, welcome to the 2017 school year." Mrs. Mok adds her name in Hànzì underneath.
"Mr. Jeup and I teach Korean, Japanese, English and Mandarin, so we collaborate our classes." She writes her name in Hiragana and English, then sets down the pen and puts her hands at her sides. "Our students often share one language and wish to learn another that a peer knows. It's a trade that has shown to be enjoyable and educational for everyone. Language has helped people communicate for generations, and it's my job to help you communicate wherever you go."
"How many people here are looking to learn English?" A good half of the class raises their hands, and everyone looks around like curious puppies to see each other. I notice that Baekhyun is one of these people. "Ah, a big number, like always." Mrs. Mok smiles.
"Good, very good. Who is here to learn Korean?" A small portion of the class raises their hands. "Mm, good. How about Japanese?" Another small portion raises their hands. "And, Mandarin?" I raise my left hand with a third small portion of the class.
"Excellent, everyone here is looking to learn something different. Mr. Jeup and I enjoy posting videos of students talking to each other in their newly learned languages on our school's YouTube page. We have a collection of playlists that has been growing since 2012. We will teach you through various games, exercises, and activities. At the end of every week, you will be tested by talking with me using what you learned that week. If everyone does well, you all get ice cream. Does that sound good?"
We cheer and applaud collectively, laughing at ourselves. "Now, may our new student come to the front and introduce herself, please?" I rise from my seat and walk to Mrs. Mok's left side. She gives me little nod and smile. "When you're ready."
I huff, nodding firmly, then turn to the class. "Hello, my name is Young Eunju, I'm in this class to learn Mandarin. I am in twelfth grade. I am a transfer from Canada on two scholarships. I enjoy writing and can make friends easily because of my personality. I look forward to knowing you all; please treat me well." I bow to finish my speech, and the class gives me a warm applause, Baekhyun included, who looks a little interested and a little relieved of stress.
"Thank you, Eunju. You may return to your seat, now." Mrs. Mok says, and I nod in response, doing so. "Now, let's go over the course assignments and begin the first assignment." Mrs. Mok picks up the keyboard on her desk and closes the application, Word 2017 beneath it.
She puts down her keyboard and hands a stack of booklets to the leftmost student in the front row. "Please take one and pass it on." After everyone had taken one, Mrs. Mok proceeds to go over the assignments for the course. Our first assignment was to create a poster in our chosen language, with help from Mrs. Mok, of a small self-introduction. We would present them to the class on Thursday, then they would be posted to the bulletin board outside for a week.
We began to work on our projects, making rough drafts on lined paper about what we wanted to put down. I met Hyejae, who's in twelfth grade, during the class's Q&A time featuring me. She was adorable and idol-image-material with big, dark eyes and short, black hair. We clicked right after I mentioned we were both lactose intolerant, knowing the struggles of not being able to find vegan ice cream so easily.  She turned out to be vegan as I am, and she cosplays as Kagamine Rin, so we got excited about Vocaloid, too.
I received many questions from students about my home country and town, which is Vanderhoof, located in the geographical heart of British Columbia, scholarships, dwarfism, and the way I walk. Of course, this lead to a brief explanation of my knees for the upteenth time. I discussed my other interests, starting with Pokemon and my preference of Water and Fairy types and favoritism of Mudkip and Sylveon, and Project Diva, and that I like music and can sing but wouldn't sing then and there. I talked about Minecraft and why I don't play online or Story Mode, cosplaying, and that I don't own a maid outfit and sew the costumes myself, and how I play Magic: The Gathering casually and attend Friday Night Magic.
Everyone who asked me questions and listened seemed thrilled to meet someone as unique as me. It didn't surprise me because I knew my appearance alone would raise questions. I noticed that Baekhyun was among the intent listeners, quietly working and smiling a little when I talked about how I adore Miku and all of her possibilities, and why I'm not a great Magic player: unlucky decisions. After everyone had asked their burning questions, I thought about Baekhyun and the student I saw him with. Baekhyun's face was red, and the way the other person was holding his wrist was a clue that something was happening.
Maybe someone did something to anger the other person, like try to... take... Baekhyun away. Oh my God, I think they might be a couple. Pretty fucking sure that guys don't hold each other like that unless they're gay. The latter being totally fine to me, I mean, hell, gay and lesbian etc. people can be just as wonderful as straight people. They probably went somewhere more private than a bathroom, they missed two of them by the time I stopped looking their way and missed if they turned the right corner or went down the stairs at the end of the hall.
I think the former option is most likely because Haeun told me that the door to the fenced school rooftop is always unlocked. The door follows the Information Technology and Law classrooms, on the right, and the third set of stairs, on the left, at the end of the hallway after the turn. The History, Social Studies, and Planning classrooms are on the left wall as well. They might have went there and had a talk. Oh geezums, now I'm curious and worried, when it's none of my business.
I quietly sigh, looking to Baekhyun from the protection of my hair over my desk. I hope everything's OK, he seems to . Also pretty sure that if I asked someone about the two, I'd get some raised eyebrows. Or, maybe I wouldn't. Hm, I'll observe people in the school a little more, see if I can spot Baekhyun with anyone. Or, maybe I'll meet someone who knows Baekhyun and what's going on, and they'll tell me. I... I fucking hate being an author, I overthink things way too easily. Eh, at least I've got a plan.
I feel like a fucking cool-ass teen detective too, like Nancy Drew, but with brown hair and green eyes. Even though I'm naturally a dark blonde, so there's that, too. After everyone was working for fifteen minutes, the bell rang. "Alright, I'll see you tomorrow for the double block." Mrs. Mok says, standing from a helping a student at their desk while everyone hastily packs up.
I wait for everyone to file out so I don't get run-over, insisting to Hyejae and a few other students that I was sure of my choice. Yeah, I'd say this is going pretty well. Mom's gonna be glad to hear about this. I look over my left shoulder as I watch Baekhyun approach me. "Hi, Eunju."
"Hi, Baekhyun. Did you need something?"
"No, I was just wondering what your next class is."
"Oh!" Not a question I expected from him. "After ASWM, I have Visual Arts."
"Really?" Baekhyun gives a light huff. "I have those courses, too. Do you wanna go to math, together?"
"Sure, I wouldn't mind." Baekhyun nods, then we take a right to the staircase that way.
"So, ASWM, huh? You're not good with math, either?" I chuckle.
"No, I'm not very bright in math or science." He lowers his shoulders. Oh, something's telling me his parents may have high expectations for him.
        "Are you good at art?"
"I'm not bad at scenery painting." Baekhyun answers as we descend the staircase. "I'm good with people and gardening, too. I might go into social work, or my parent's business at the greenhouse." I give an 'mm' in reply. "What are you going into, Eunju?"
"Something with writing, if I'm lucky. I have a business certificate, and I've worked at a bank before, so I could work in an office, too. Something where I'm not up on my feet all day." Baekhyun nods a little in understanding. "By the way, what grade are you in, Baekhyun?"
"I'm in twelfth grade, too." He answers, waiting for me at the bottom of the first set of stairs. "So, your knee incident actually happened?"
"Yeah," I answer, starting the final set. "I'm wearing black pantihose to help hide my scar. I mean, I shave, but I had a habit of scratching at mosquito bites as a kid, so I have circular scars all over my arms and legs. That's why I chose to wear the long sleeved uniform." Baekhyun gives a low 'mm' in understanding.
When I was a little more than halfway down the stairs, the student that Baekhyun was with this morning halts in front of the opening into the hallway from the right. I never realized how tall he was until now, and his face is kind of baby-like, his eyes are very dark, piercing brown. "There you are, Baek. Are you coming?" Whoa, that’s a deep voice, if I ever heard one.
"Chanyeol, you still have to go to class, after homeroom." Baekhyun replies, reaching the bottom. "We have to wait until break to..." He pauses, then shakes his head a little as I finish descending. "...To talk on the roof."
"Just for a minute, come on..." Chanyeol whines.
"Nope, we're going to class." Baekhyun replies, taking Chanyeol's left hand and pulling him along as we go to the math classrooms down the hallway. Chanyeol's face holds this bewildered, judging and pleading expression, telling me that they're a couple, and that Chanyeol is the masculine figure who is currently confused at his partner's actions. He's also judging me because he may think I have something to do with it, and pleading to be released from Baekhyun's hand so he can recapture it and away with Baekhyun. Just... just fuck my analyzing brain; I'm thinking too much, and I have math, next.
-Forgiveness, Thankfulness and Remembrance-
WE: 2260 words, yes, very good. To clarify, if an idol is born before '95, they are in tenth grade. '95 liners are in eleventh grade, and '94-'90 liners are in twelfth grade. There are many exceptions for the sake of ship-relevancy for idols who are in twelfth grade. Yep, you heard that right. Ship-relevancy. Thanks for reading!

i’m so frustrated i want to scream.
i had a dream about high school. i was hanging out with a japanese girl. i couldn’t understand anything she said and i was trying to figure out a good system to communicate but i couldn’t remember anything or focus on how my hands were moving. i have never had this much trouble with a language barrier and i could not figure out what she wanted.
that was just the start of the day though.
there was that thing with dad, of course. and i’ve been feeling crummy and sore all day. it has never let up. there was a period of about an hour where it hurt so bad i couldn’t move this evening. i felt so sick i couldn’t even feel restless. it was like all my limbs died.
i have had pms symptoms worse than this, of course, but never while actively on birth control. and definitely not when it’s not even the right week yet. i still have two more days before the pill schedule says i’m actually supposed to start. at least i caught it right away and that was, er, uneventful. i do so dislike bathroom adventures.
gotta... set up an appointment with my doctor. again. try something else.
walking wiley was pretty miserable. i had no energy and every time he pulled on the leash my whole upper body ached. thankfully he didn’t seem to find anything especially interesting on our usual route today so i could focus on just moving forward. i think some kids wanted me to stop so they could pet wiley but i just waved at them and kept going because i didn’t want to deal with people. their parents didn’t look too enthusiastic about me coming over at least.
tomorrow i gotta get up an hour early for therapy. so i am writing a little early. after therapy dad wants to go to his mom’s house. i haven’t seen her since, like, before she killed her dog i think? i have never volunteered to go with dad. i think my dad knows i don’t care for her company. then we are picking up asher to start studying for the gre a little bit.
i was completely unable to focus all day despite not moving too much. i didn’t start looking at math gre materials until like twenty minutes ago. i’ve got a couple things bookmarked now... hopefully spending some time on khan academy will help boost his confidence. that’s mostly what the gre is about. not letting it psyche you out. the general gre doesn’t really cover anything over high school, or freshman year of college level. i took it without studying at all and i did way better than i did on the subject test despite spending five months pretty religiously studying.
the worst part about standardized tests is how soul crushing they are. you still feel like you’re bad at it even when you score in the 80th percentile. or you feel like you did pretty good and get 40th percentile. just like my grades!!!
i was hoping maybe since i didn’t have to go to school this semester i could relax a little more. but here i am with my head in my hands worrying about my grades and my lost opportunity and how rusty i’m getting with numbers. i can’t... find higher level physics material to practice with on the internet. where do i go to just, do quantum physics problems every day?? and i gave my quantum book to hogan, so he could keep up with the material... maybe i’ll ask for it back... i’ll have to go back to flag at some point anyway.
i’m too ashamed to even log into facebook because maybe i’ll have gotten a notification from someone i know. or maybe someone will see me online and try to talk to me and they’ll figure out how much of a useless bum i am. i’ve forgotten to even change my skype status from “away” for several days now. i don’t talk in the discord channels...
that feeling of “i feel like a total loser” never went away. i think having to miss another semester of school broke me. it’s hard to motivate myself to even do little things. like send emails. or look at the physics stuff that i ASKED MY PROFESSOR TO SEND ME AND HE KINDLY DID. or heck, even watching tv is a chore! sitting and reading for too long makes me feel sick. i should really be wearing my reading glasses, that might be the problem with the reading. but whenever i think about doing anything i just want to cry.
i feel stupid even talking about anything but work on my tumblr, where i go to talk about how i’m feeling. it’s great. like, i could say i played a lot of pokemon and got extremely frustrated with the luck i was having at the battle tree, but i play pokemon every day. mom and dad judge me pretty hard.
it’s hard to find anything to enjoy when i know that if it’s not work related my parents are going to complain that i don’t do anything useful. i can’t get any fun out of things i used to have a great time doing. i don’t really sit and think in the shower any more, i just kind of stand there and stare at the wall and yell at myself to wash my hair already. i can’t write or draw. well, technically i physically could do those things, but i can’t... put the paper down in front of myself. when i think about it, i just don’t do it. i guess it’s hard because making art again would mean i am trying to take steps to feel better. but i wouldn’t be feeling better fast enough and mom and dad would be like “why did you draw when you could be applying for jobs” and then i would feel even worse.
i can’t start new books or tv shows and i have trouble even picking up new short stories/fanfiction because i would spend time and energy thinking about and talking about that stuff when i could be applying for jobs!!!
i can’t even crawl out of my depression hole good enough. it would be easier for everyone if i was dead. then at least my parents wouldn’t have to spend so much money on me. and my friends wouldn’t have to watch me complain about nothing all the time. and i wouldn’t have to sit here and be myself all day.
haha, the dream i had... i was singing a song and i mixed up the lyrics. it reminded me of last may when i went to comicon and i liked someone’s cosplay and tried to point it out to taylor and i got the character mixed up with a different one right in front of everyone in the elevator. i bet i looked like a real fake gamer girl!!!
not only that, but it was an undertale cosplay, and i know how... intense the fans can be. i wanted to melt into my dress and through the floor.
i hate the way my body looks and it’s so hard for me to cosplay. i get judgmental looks when i try to play along in character a little bit because i don’t commit enough, or i commit too much, or i get disappointed looks when i don’t play along because i’m too nervous. i’m lucky if one person asks to take a picture with me. i should really make my own costumes... i could probably put in just a little more effort and maybe people would like my costumes. but i can’t sew and mom never taught me how to do anything i could use to take care of myself.
everything i learned about how to take care of myself i had to teach myself... i don’t even know how to put on makeup. i have never even once done it myself.
mostly because it’s bad for my skin and i hate the way it feels on my face, but also because i was afraid of doing it wrong and having to wear it that way all day.
i guess, i got so used to doing things wrong on purpose, like playing video games just badly enough or getting pop culture references wrong to look just the right level of Not That Nerdy, and Letting the Guys Be Right, that when i actually put in effort and tried to win i couldn’t any more. the only thing i can do on purpose is lose. and i guess... losing on purpose gives me some control over whether i won or not. since i’m gonna lose anyway, may as well let myself down easy, you know?
but i keep trying for some reason. because i’m stupid i guess. dedication and stubbornness are the same thing.
actually one time it was kind of funny. i was just starting high school and wanted to not look like an unapproachable hermit. so i was talking about tv shows with a guy. i think it was long hair jake. he brought up dragonball z. i have seen the show before, and i had only the most tenuous grasp of the plot, but i liked some of the characters enough to be familiar with their names and personalities. i watched toonami a lot in grade school. but i was so afraid of looking like a nerd, because he was so cool, you see, that i deliberately “forgot” all the characters’ names and basic things about the show. getting it wrong on purpose and letting people judge me for that is easier than trying earnestly and getting it wrong anyway without even noticing. at least when i do something on purpose i have some say in what people think of me, because i did for sure act a certain way.
i ended up being an unapproachable hermit anyway and during my second year i actually got yelled at by the dean of students for being “too egotistical to spend time with my classmates.”
honestly i think that actually truly damaged my self esteem. here i had clearly established myself as the worst student, and was too afraid to hang out with literally anyone, and everyone thought i thought myself too high and mighty for those lowly mortals! gaze upon me and despair.
man, i hate me. i hate having to deal with me. i hate listening to myself all day. i hate the way i keep getting up and trying again even when there is clearly nothing to be gained. i wish i could just die already.
and yet... i appreciate the way eve keeps going like there’s nothing wrong even though she is clearly aware of how old she is. i appreciate that she still asks to go on walks even though she’s always sore and tired afterward. that she still wants to spend time with me despite everything.
haha i’m crying again, good night everybody, i’ll be here all week. i can’t see again, my eyes burn so bad. god it hurts.
i am just a little early tonight. but i have to get up to go to the bathroom so often every night that i’ll probably end up not getting enough sleep anyway. it wasn’t as bad last night, so maybe the medication is finally starting to help.

okay so apparently my school just never lets alts in the photos because the old alts always left in april? which is irrelevant as im clearly staying so fuck them tbh
it honestly wouldnt be bad if people had asked, or you know, NOT given me all the info about the photos (minus the date) which then showed my name not being on it. way to rub it in. a few people were confused as to why i wasnt involved (and became uncomfortable when they realised i wasnt included) and one dude was like ‘its fine youre wearing pink its cherry blossom themed lol’ and that was cool
but then the chick next to me (50s+), who i thought was super cool, when everyone was heading to the photo shes like ‘youre gonna be alone now. alone. we’re gonna take photos so you’ll be alone. bye!’
how fucking unnecessary is that?
(i dont think she meant it badly, i think she was trying to inform me that i could stay at my desk but in a really awful way)
to add to it, i can see them taking photos from my desk and hear them laughing, so yeah, great
(my head jte came back and asked why i wasnt involved and i told her i didnt know and she felt bad because she thought it was her responsibility and i felt bad because i clearly wasnt asked to join in in the first place so it isnt her fault)
tried to explain to my supervisor and ended up crying while another alt was talking to some other dudes about cool stuff he gets to do at his school. so four people got to see me cry. nice
theres shit happening at home so that sucks and i almost got hit by a bike today. also an old couple literally stopped their car in the middle of the road to gawk at me like im a fucking zoo animal
also, because its graduation season all the high schoolers have gone to get their license. im an april arrival so my international license is expired meaning i need to walk everywhere. my closest work is 30 minutes up a mountain. itd be nice if someone offered a lift but everyones just like ‘wow, isn’t it hard?’ and then laugh when i say yes :))))
this means i cant go to enkais, the rare occasion when i get invited. also, nobody ever invites me to nijikais and we always eat the same fucking food which is usually stuff im not keen on so idk if ill even go to enkais (not like anyone wants to talk to me)
i dont think im super unsociable or awful. so it kinda sucks how people act toward me
especially when one of them confesses to you and you remember he has a wife and kid and he says he ‘hasnt spoken to them in six months’ and ‘cheating is fine’ and ‘what if i say bye bye to my wife? will you date me then?’. this is about three hours after he mentions he was being transferred to a different island so its clear that he was just after one night
im also low key positive the other alts hate me. im pretty sure its my anxiety talking, but im not sure if it is or not. everyone else lives in the same building and they always hang out. we recently discussed getting board games (my idea) and its nice to see theyve gone and got them and played without me. cool. (yes, im a bit jealous and possessive of my ideas and i do get annoyed when people say theyll do stuff with me, but then do it with someone else and then dont want to it with me)
just sick of being second place or the one constantly not invited. and one alt pretty much puts words in my mouth all the time and basically says my opinions are redundant because i dont like kids. i dont hate kids. i have no desire to have kids. i like kids a lot more due to being an alt than i did beforehand because i had practically no exposure to kids. my opinions are still valid. and if anything, they bring a different perspective.
all of my friends live in osaka/tokyo/fukuoka. id love to live near one of those places. im never going to be anyones ‘’’best friend’’’ but at least i can be with people who genuinely want to hang out with me (some japanese people do here but they live in neighbouring prefectures so it isnt easy)
at the moment, theres really nothing good about my placement. im generally a pretty strong person who can just keep on going, but im at my limit. my town is gross, and smells bad daily due to being a factory town. im gawked at all the time and people feel like they can be rude/in your face just because im foreign (have never had this happen in big cities, i used to live in osaka). my neighbours are super fucking rude (see me and walk back inside). theres nothing in town. or the neighbouring towns. im tired of being second fiddle to the other female alt and having other alts only contact me when they need help.
i want my staff to explain things to me. i missed so many events last year because i wasnt invited. for example, bunkasai. i told kids id come and i wanted to come, but nobody told me dates or anything. i asked about sports day and i was told teachers need to be there by 7, but that didnt apply to me. so i asked when i should come. nobody knew. im honestly so envious of people with decent placements. the best thing i have is my supervisor and she low key hates her job.
im also worried since it looks like last years 3nen sei teacher at N JHS is still teaching 3 nensei. which means ill never see those kids and i had such an amazing time with them. nice.
i apologise for the negativity, but i dont think i have anyone i can talk to this about. and this tag shouldnt just be positivity, especially with new jets walking into the job soon.

I know I have the potential to be great, and I choose the path of the weak every time. via /r/selfimprovement
I know I have the potential to be great, and I choose the path of the weak every time.
Im so shitty. I dont even know why im writing this. Honestly I see other people post and I wonder if this actually helps. I'm at a point where If there's even a chance it could help, I should try it. Im 29, skinny black guy. I literally weigh about 130 lbs. Live with a roommate and brother. Other brother moving here in bout a week. Im older than all of them. Somehow I've got to this point in my life dropping out of every school endeavor i ever embarked on. Dropped out of High School, got my GED got into college then dropped out of that. Was too busy smoking weed, playing fighting games...just being a fool. Never been in a serious relationship at any point in my life. My love-life is non-existent. My only working background is in grocery stores and call center. I legitimately want to just stop everything. If I have to take calls for another few months that really might be it for me. I'm at the complete end of my lane. Im not here to discuss where my thoughts have gone, but I know for certain I cant keep doing this type of work for the rest of my life...I don't think I'll last to the middle of 2019 before I quit and look for another job. Speaking of that, my last 5 years of work history is just me bouncing between jobs. I got a job at software company doing customer support, but i threw that away too. They wanted to send me to Ireland, a real chance to start over and for some reason i threw it away. I just feel inadequate as hell in comparison to my brothers (one who has graduated college, the other who is going to Lincoln Tech now). I don't have problems talking to women casually, but I dont have it in me to discuss anything romantic with a woman. I wouldn't date me. If I was a woman I wouldn't even talk to me lol, let alone date me. I see my laziness, my apathy, my lack of empathy toward other people, and I know it's' shitty. I hate it, I hate myself and I absolutely must improve. I know that I can, when I actually put my mind to something I excel.
But you know what I hate more than anything? People who look for sympathy, people who want others to feel bad for them, and worst of all people who don't fucking work. So as I make this post, I don't want anyone to feel sorry for me. If anything insult me, because well thats what I deserve and probably what I would do to someone else.
So since im literally at the end of my fucking rope, I've been trying to rewrite my life as hard as possible. Dedicating literally every minute of every day to improvement. Literally every --single---minute of every ---single--- day. As i write this now im at work, im doing quite a few things inbetween calls, and decided to visit this reddit because I made this account and subscribed to it a few weeks ago.
I probably sound like an idiot going into detail on this, but as embarrassing as it is I will. I made a plan for myself for the next 5 years. The plan includes my goals and ways to achieve them day by day. It also includes checkpoints every so often for me to check In and make sure im actually focusing on my goals. I need these checkpoints because in the past when I tried to do things like this I would lose focus eventually and fall into loads of weed use and alcohol abuse. My goals are listed below in no particular order:
Improve my overall Health - this multi-part goal. It includes both physical and mental health. I weigh 130 lbs pretty much on the dot. I'm not sure what my ideal weight would be (I don't know how I'd look at lets say 170 lbs for me to call that my ideal weight), but the first milestone is 150lbs. I want to hit this in 6 months, or atleast check in at that time. In terms of how I plan to do that, I've detailed a complete workout regime for me. Of course, I could go into detail on that, but the most important step, more important than working out is just eating more. The hardest part of course is always sticking to the regime, but atleast i've wrote down what I need to do. I don't know why but for some reason I just have trouble getting myself to eat. Even when i'm hungry, i'll smoke or go for a walk or go to sleep or just game - I'll do anything but eat. As of today, I'm changing that. For my mental health, I plan to read recreationally more especially when on public transit which Im on for about 2 hours a day. Why reading? I need to stay away from my phone. I spend so much time on discord, losing myself in non-stop content online through youtube or twitch or whatever. I need to get back in touch with me, and not be scared to be in my own thoughts. As a kid i use to read a lot, I was a creative kid. I think somewhere in the weed use I lost that, I want it back. After doing some research I've also started journalling. I Journal twice a day, once in the morning once at night. I try to spend 30 minutes a day total (15 minutes per night/day) writing down my thoughts from the previous day and goals for that day in the morning, and what I actually accomplished and thoughts for the day that night. After reading what I've wrote for just a few days, turns out I'm actually a very bitter person. Maybe not bitter, but definitely angry and intense. I'm also trying to meditate, but Im not really good at this. What I do is just sit down in my room, light a candle, make some tea, close my eyes and think for 10 or so minutes. Any thought that comes in I try to analyze where it came from and if it's a negative thought or stemming from a negative. Im not good at this yet honestly. Its important to know these things aren't something I want to add in only for a limited time. I think I need to do this for the rest of my life, otherwise I spiral fast. My mom has suggested therapy but, I completely refuse. If I can't fix myself I won't get fixed. I'm not scared to ask for help, but therapy is out of the question until I've done absolutely everything I can to fix myself.
Develop a Skill. Particularly I want to program. I've taught myself abit of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. Honestly I'm a complete beginner, but I've dabbled abit. I've made steps to already begin teaching myself in my routine. I've been using codeacademy pro for about a month now and I'm working on deploying my own site (my first project will just be my resume on a responsive one page site, got the idea from a friend). This comes from, I have to develop some type of skill in order to move out of Customer Service. I don't know what else to even do, though IT support comes to mind but I don't want to support anymore I want to create and develop. I'm not trying to avoid work, I just want to avoid working with the general public, and I want to avoid my job being to educate others or fix mistakes they've made. Even though I think that still happens in development, I atleast want a career that pushes me mentally and forces me to improve my skillset in order to stay relevant. Most importantly, I want a job I can be proud of. A job that I myself can be proud of. Even though Customer Service/Call Centers are important for alot of companies, I cannot stand this line of work. It is so mind numbingly tedious and repetitive, and I feel like I am wasting my life and my potential handling these minor inquiries when I know I can use my mind to accomplish and work on something much greater. I don't care how arrogant or fucked up it sounds. It's not that I think i'm better than anyone, I just KNOW that i can achieve more than this. I know that im here because of how shitty of a human i've been. I'm tired of it, I have to change it.
Learn another language. The only other language I've had real interest in is Japanese. Honestly I've been at odds even with myself on this for a long time. Is it bad that I enjoy that type of culture? I'm not trying to be a "weeb" or just say it to sound cool. I've spent time learning to recognize some hiragana/katakana just on my own in the past. I don't think it's a perfect culture or anything, but its the only one that legitimate has always interested me for as long as I can remember. So i've decided to pursue it and fuck it, if I look stupid or like a weeb or whatever I guess I just have to accept that. Again I have my own routine I've detailed for myself for learning, and I have a few people I can actually practice with. I somehow got a friend of mine a job in Japan as a english teacher...but I havent done anything myself to move toward that and I know god damn well I could.
I want to become better at interacting with people. Last few months I've lost myself in just complete self indulgence. I won't go super into detail, but I think we all know what this means. Drug use, alcohol use, long nights on the internet avoiding sleep exploring the most degenerate shit man. The worst is after nights like that you can't look people in the eye, or have normal conversations. It just eats at you knowing youre not only wasting time but spending it on something so shitty and useless. Putting time off with family/friends to stay at home and waste time, I won't do shit like this anymore. When you fall into a rut like this, or whatever it is, all your relationships around you start to crumble. Then I wonder why I havent been in a relationship, lol. Well im done and hopefully by writing this It gives me strength to not fall back into that dark place and keep me on the right path. I will show I can support my family and I can receive their support as well. It will take time to repair these relationships, but If i dont start now I feel like they really will crumble forever.
This is basically my current mental state. I don't know if this even fits this subreddit but I hope it does and if not feel free to inform me. The purpose of this is to show that, I am on the path to self improvement, its all I care about right now. Being better than I've been in the past month. Better than I was yesterday, because if I dont change my life now I'm legitimately scared what I will do or where I will be 5 years from now. If you actually read all this, thanks. If you have any thoughts, please let me know. If I sound stupid, let me know. If I sound like all im doing is crying and complaining, please inform me. You have any videos I can watch on improvement, including mentalities/mindsets/meditation please let me know. Im open to anything. It took me about 2 hours to write this in between calls. As I hit post I'm going back to coding and planning on working on my first project immediately tonight. Guess i'm saying this more for myself than anyone.
Thanks for reading.

Some Aizawa Story: We’ll Meet in the Stars
Okay, so I love love LOOOOOVE Aizawa, & since I finally finished my last semester at the community college I thought that I should try & give it a shot at writing again. Its been a while, so I’m really sorry if this isn’t that great. (¤﹏¤) But I hope it’s at least alright. Anyways, on with the show!
Chapter 1
The warmth of the sun was welcomed as the cool breeze graced my face. I hugged my pea coat tighter around my body as I made my way up the steps of Yuuei High School. Today was my first day as a teacher for the General Department. When I heard from All Might that a position opened at Yuuei I immediately called about the job and how to apply. After many interviews, background checks, and taking an assessment test for my quirk, I finally got the job. All Might wanted to put in a good word for me, but I told him not to, I needed to get this job on my own without anyone else’s help.
Nezu had already given me a tour of the campus the other day, since I memorized my way around before I was able to find the staff room. There was a teacher sitting at his desk as I walked in, the man whose body was made of cement. I believe his name is Cementoss.
“Good morning, you must be Miss Valencia,” he said as he got up from his seat and bowed.
Reminding myself of Japanese customs, I did the same.
“Good morning, you’re Cementoss, correct?” I asked.
He nodded and at the same time principal Nezu came in.
“Ah, Miss Valencia, good morning! I hope it wasn’t too much trouble finding your way in here,” Nezu said.
I shook my head and smiled, “Not at all,”
“Splendid. Please don’t be shy to ask for directions or for any other concern you might have. You know where to find me if you need anything. I have matters to attend to, so I’ll leave you to it,” and just like that, the bear or dog or mouse, was gone.
“Don’t worry miss, you’ll get used to him,” Cementoss stated.
I went to my desk, which Nezu informed me of the other day, and set my bag down as I took off my peacoat. As the start of school was getting closer more pro heroes/teachers came in. I met Power Loader, Ectoplasm, Snipe, Thirteen, and Vlad King, which to be honest I was nervous of meeting since they were all great heroes. In general, I was nervous of meeting all the heroes. Then All Might came in, finally a familiar face. He and I greeted each other like usual old friends, hugging and making sure everything was going well for the other. I still wasn’t used to seeing him in his normal form, it was such a vast difference from his hero form. He looked rather tired in this form, which concerned me.
               “Is everything okay?” I asked.
All Might gave me a small smile, “Yeah, just working hard on being a great teacher now that I’m no longer the number one hero,”
“I know you’re a great teacher. And hey, I know I wasn’t around when everything happened, so if you ever want to talk about it you can talk to me,”
Patting my head and softly smiling down at me, he said, “I know,”
As we struck up a conversation of how things were back in the States, a loud voice from down the hall reached the staff room. We both turned to look at the door.
“All I’m sayin’ is that you could’ve killed it!” A male voice yelled.
“Jeez, Mic, stop crying already. It was only on you for like a second,” another voice said, this time a female.
“I don’t care, you guys know I don’t like spiders!” The loud man continued to yell as I now heard their footsteps, they’re getting closer.
Feeling confused, I looked up at All Might as he sighed and looked down at me.
“It’s Present Mic, he doesn’t like bugs,” was all he said.
Just then three people came in, two men and one woman. The woman was dressed in a dominatrix-type of outfit, with long black hair and crazy blue eyes. A blonde man with cockatoo hair was dressed in all black leather, and since he was still complaining it was easy to surmise that he’s Present Mic. The last man looked extremely tired, with shoulder-length black hair and a scarf that was hiding the bottom half of his face.
The woman instantly noticed All Might and smiled, “Hey All Might, how’s it going?” she asked. Her eyes glanced down to me and they widened, the smile on her face grew. “Is this the new teacher?” She asked excitedly.
“Yeah, this is Valencia Camilla. Cam, this is Midnight, Present Mic, and Eraserhead,” All Might introduced.
I was about to bow when Midnight rushed at me, hooking her finger under my chin to lift my face.
“Oh my, you are a beauty! It’s nice to have another woman around here! I’m Kayama Nemuri,” Midnight beamed.
Even though her comment made me blush, I still gave her a once over and smiled at her.
“Hello and thank you, you’re quite lovely, too,” I said.
“Ooh, I’m tingling all over,” she purred.
My eyebrows rose as I sniggered. Wow, she sure likes putting it out there.
“Easy, Midnight, you’re going to scare her off,” Present Mic said as he pulled Midnight away. He extended his arm and took my hand in his to shake. Hard. “Good morning, listener! I’m Yamada Hizashi, the English teacher here at Yuuei!” He yelled. (Technically everyone in this story is speaking Japanese, but whenever a character, like Camilla or Present Mic, speaks in English I’ll italicize it)
“Holy crap, you’re loud,” I said.
He threw his head back and laughed, our hands still shaking vigorously.
“Well, that’s my quirk! And I’m also a radio show host so don’t forget to tune in and listen! It’s called ‘Put Your Hands Up’ and I play music nonstop every Friday night from 1am to 5am, so check it out on Hero FM!”
Pulling my hand from his I nodded, “Will do, good sir,”
Looking at the last of the three, the man named Eraserhead just gave a nod.
“Eraser’s not really a verbal person, but so you’re not confused he’s saying hello,” Present Mic said.
That comment earned him an elbow to the stomach by Eraserhead.
“I’m Aizawa Shouta, I don’t care if you call me Eraserhead or Aizawa,” was all he said as he made his way to his desk, which was across from mine.
I looked at All Might and gave him half a smile, “A man of few words, I like that,”
Everyone went to their desks, All Might sitting a desk away from me on my left, Eraserhead across from me and Present Mic on his right. Midnight sat a few desks away from Present Mic, which sucked because I wanted to get to know her more.
As I pulled out my binder of lesson plans I could feel my heart beating a bit faster. Oh boy, try to calm down Cammy. Even though I’ve taught before this was my first time to actually teach at a high ranked school. A hero school non-the less. I just hope that I can be what the students need to help them out with their studies as well as with their quirks. General Department students don’t get to do enough hero work like the heroic classes, but Nezu said it was okay for them to do a lesson here and there that focuses on their quirk. I shouldn’t worry, I know if I have any trouble I can count on All Might to help.
Seeing as there was fifteen minutes before school started I decided to head to the classroom. I gathered all the paperwork I needed, and when I looked up I noticed a few teachers were already gone. The only teachers left were All Might, Eraserhead, and Thirteen.
All Might glanced up from his computer and gave me a reassuring smile, “You’ll be fine, the students here are great,”
Returning the smile, I stood from my chair and pushed it in, “I bet, they’re all pretty extraordinary if they go here,”
“Do you know your way around?” Eraserhead suddenly asked.
Surprised, I turned towards him, but he was looking down at the papers he was grading, “Uh, yeah. Nezu gave me a tour the other day,”
His response was a small grunt. I looked at All Might to explain, “He means ‘got it’,”
“Oh, okay,” was all I said. Making sure I had everything I needed, I headed to the General Department classroom for my first day of teaching. Before I exited the room, I looked back at All Might, but his eyes were glued to his computer screen, then involuntarily my eyes settled on Eraserhead. His eyes were on me, and I instantly gave him a small smile. He looked down and went back to grading his papers, most of his face hidden behind his scarf. Turning back around I left the room. My cheeks suddenly felt warm.
