Prologue:

The protagonist, Kuro Baiorin, is the Ultimate Violinist, but instead of Hopes Peak this takes place in Nozomu Academy. And as all good protags do, she meets the cast and stuff like that. here we go

The class meets Monokuma and he’s like “yeah u homies r in a killing game prepare to die lol” and the class is like “no we wont die we wont kill we will hope!!!” but like in a mature way

Chapter One:

The morning of the first day— Kuro walks in on Arashi and Mizuki fighting. According to everyone else, Mizuki found entertainment in the idea of a killing game. Arashi understandably got pissed off by this and believed Mizuki was a freak, and the two got into a fight. Tama and Kuro get Arashi off Mizuki and Mizuki points out how this is an ultimate confinement and they need to kill eachother. Kuro gives a hope speech and everyone settles down. Also Mizuki is obsessed with Kuro so she listens to Kuro more willingly. Kuro is kinda creeped out by Mizuki’s

Toshiro cooks breakfast for everyone. He presents an excellently done dish that is much better than anyone else could cook, and acts very kindly. Kuro notices how Toshiro is like a “mom friend”, in a way. They continue to notice Toshiro’s kinder mannerisms in the way he resorts to calling everyone by their last name, and even allows Ryuto, who is an orphan to call him dad after Ryuto accidentally did so. Toshiro then brings up their killing game situation (although in a much more polite way) and the class unanimously agrees not to listen to Monokuma and not to kill (which obviously doesnt happen but yk). Also they start calling Toshiro ‘Shiro’ <33 Btw shiro is 6’4 so do what you will with that information

Nanako mentions how empty and plain the fitness room is, and tells everyone she’s going to redecorate it later at night. However, the class is worried after hearing Monokuma’s threat of a killing game, even after Nanako insists that she’ll be fine. Gin and Ryuto program an enforced security system around the fitness room and Tama is kept outside the entire time Nanako is painting to ensure that she won’t die.

Spoiler alert Nanako dies and everyone freaks out bc yk. she’s freaking dead man what do we DO

The class pulls it together and starts investigating and stuff and when trial time is announced, everyone is very much freaked out by dead portrait of Nanako

Kuro, Kei and Ryuto solve the murder as everyone else is basically useless and find out together that Okashi is the killer.

Okashi’s motive was actually rlly deep surprisingly?? His motive was that since he’s the Ultimate Memer his life purpose was making people smile and he was always happy whenever his memes made his sister laugh in particular. He killed because he would do anything to see his sister smile again . poor guy

Okashi tearfully accepts his death while reassuring Kuro that it wasn’t her fault (Kuro thinks Okashi now having to die is her fault), and then Okashi dies so uh. rip okashi

Kuro proceeds to pass out right after his execution and wakes up in the nurses office. Next to her is soup that Toshiro made, and as she cries over Okashi’s death and the guilt of feeling it was her fault because she was the one who discovered he was the killer, Ryuto and Mizuki assure her that without her they’d be dead and yk. words of encouragement yeah???

Also theres this thing called purgatory and all the dead people go there and Nanako forgives okashi for killing her and yay friendship

Chapter 2:

•Everyone gathers to eat breakfast that Shiro made, & thankfully it’s much calmer than the day before. The class noticed Akito and Hinami aren’t present, but before they can worry too much, and the two of them walk in with a stack of papers. They explain they are going to be hosting a play to cheer everyone up after the events that occurred the day before (Nanako & Okashi dying). Kuro is set to play the violin, Ichika’s the main character, Reina is the costume designer, Akito and Hinami are the writers and directors, so on and so forth. Also Akito is a theater kid and keeps freaking everyone out w Heathers refrences. Monokuma gives out the motive videos showing their deepest desire and everyone kinda just ignores them. Kuro watches hers, and it tells her that if she kills, she can stop being a violinist and instead just live normally. Kuro acknowledges that while she doesnt really hold any major interest toward the violin, seeing ppl smile bc of her performances makes it worth it or wtvr smth like that • Kuro, Ryuto & Mizuki then head off and the three see Kei in the library and he’s reading “History of Hopes Peak Academy ''. None of them know what Hopes Peak is, but the name sounds familiar to Kuro. They also unlock another floor of the school as the class trial reward

• Eventually, Kuro, Ryuto and Mizuki leave Kei in the library. After wandering around for a bit, they find the Ultimate Gardener’s lab. Haru’s not in there, but they notice a shed. Monokuma pops up and tells the two that the only way they can get in the shed is by going to Haru and getting the key from them. While the shed has useful garden stuff, it also has saws and axes and its a pretty good place to hide a dead body ngl

The trio go upstairs to a storage closet but discover from Haru that it can only be opened by people who’ve unlocked their Ultimate Lab (Haru, Gin, Akito, Hinami). The trios like “thanks 4 the info” and Harus like “yeah sure” and this is not important at all in future trials. They try to visit Hinamis Ult Lab, but she refuses to let them in. Mizuki offers to just break in when shes not there, but Kuro and Ryuto manage 2 convince her into respecting Hinamis privacy. At dinner, everyone confirms at least two people has seen everyones ultimate lab and they’ve all explored every part of the school they can, and everyone heads to bed.

Anyways its play day!!! Everything is going pretty smoothly and chill and the play is great. Reina is even being a little bit nicer awwwww 🥺🥺🥺 Then there’s some walking heel noises and everyone assumes thats just Ichika walking off stage but then when they open the curtains. Ohemgee Akito got crushed by the chandelier (rip theater kid)

The trial goes on and everyone thinks its Ichika bc of the heels, but then its revealed it was actually just Hinami wearing Ichika’s heels as a way to try and frame Ichika. They figure this out bc thanks 2 Gins autopsy, they manage to discover that Akito actually died of poisoned tea and not being crushed. The cast then realizes that Hinami is the culprit bc she had given Akito tea earlier

When asked her motive, its revealed that Hinami.is actually some girl named Arisu

uh so basically, the actual Hinami had died in a plane crash a few years earlier. Arisu happened to be a rlly big fan of Hinami and was devastated when she found out. Arisu tried pretending she was Hinami, and shockingly the public actually bought it. She was forced to live as Hinami for the rest of her life and leave behind her identity as Arisu (Arisus actual ultimate is identity thief btw!). Akito had discovered this and was going to reveal her identity and Arisu decided to kill him, not only bc she didnt want her identity revealed just yet, but also because her motive video told her that she would be able to stop pretending to be Hinami & finally be herself. Kei is all like “ur a bitch shame on you u r so bad” and everyone else is like “kei wtf” and then Arisu dies

Akito & Arisu meet in purgatory & they forgive eachother and yay happiness

I was brainstorming a beastars danganronpa au(as in beastars characters in danganronpa), and I made up a Haru execution. I'm not exactly thinking of writing this au(even then I don't know what Haru's role would be), this is just for fun.

btw, because it isn't obvious, this is from Legosi's perspective.

I couldn’t do anything as I watched Haru fall through the floor of the Trial Room.

The monitor switched on as the camera showed Haru falling, before eventually landing on her front in some grass, surrounded by giant weeds.

Haru was in some huge underground room, with the walls hastily painted to look like a blue sky on a sunny day with a few clouds. On a far wall, which was painted to look like the outside of a shed, was a door.

It opened up, and walking out was a big Monokuma holding a weed wacker appropriate for its own size.

Haru saw it, and immediately got up and started running away from it, while the camera showed that the weeds spelled out letters.

Haru and the Beanstalk

Ultimate Gardener Haru Yoshino’s Execution: Executed

The Monokuma gave chase, while wildly swinging its weed wacker to cut down the weeds.

It wasn’t exactly fast, but it was still faster than any of us were comfortable with. Slowly, yet surely, it was gaining distance on Haru.

Haru then stopped and craned her neck upwards as she was at the foot of a massive stalk with humongous leaves, and it was growing up and out of a large hatch in the ceiling of the room.

Haru had a way out!

However, it soon became apparent that not only was the hatch closing, the stalk was also sinking into the ground.

Haru’s eyes widened and her pupils shrank, as she was clearly intimidated. Then, her mood changed on a dime, with determined eyes and a furrowed brow. Clearly, she was filled with hope.

Using her strong rabbit legs, Haru jumped from leaf to leaf, which acted as platforms.

Haru not only jumped quickly, she jumped high, and her efforts were obviously beating the sinking stalk.

Haru would escape!

Just then, hatches in the parts of the wall that were painted like clouds opened up, and several Monokumas wielding chainsaws flew out, each riding on the backs of robotic golden geese.

The Monokumas would either try to swing their chainsaws at her, or cut off the leaf she was standing on.

Haru was nimble enough to dodge the chainsaws, and jump to the next leaf before the one she was standing on got cut off, but they were all close calls. Between getting several nicks and stumbling often, plus with the fact that the Monokumas were something to focus on other than just jumping, Haru’s efforts were greatly slowed.

Yet, Haru was almost there! She could still make it!

But the big Monokuma on the ground got to the foot of the stalk, and started cutting it down with its weed wacker at that same slow, yet uncomfortable pace.

The stalk started leaning, but Haru wasn’t giving up.

Just a few more jumps!

But the stalk started leaning too much. It was completely inside the room, and the hatch was almost too small for Haru to fit through.

With one last burst of energy, Haru jumped above the Monokumas with chainsaws, and sprang off the end of the stalk, just barely getting out before the hatch closed completely, and Haru breathed a sigh of relief.

We all cheered for Haru. She made it!

But our celebrations promptly stopped when we saw Haru’s expression shift from relief to shock to confusion to panic, all in such a short amount of time.

Haru frantically began looking around, because as it turned out, she was in a massive greenhouse with no visible exits.

Haru ran to the nearest wall and started pounding on it with her fist, hoping to do anything to break out.

The ground shook, and Haru looked over her shoulder to see an absolutely gargantuan Monokuma.

A look of pure terror took over Haru’s face, and she pounded on the glass wall harder. It was all for naught.

The Monokuma picked Haru up by the ears, and she could do nothing as the Monokuma opened up its mouth…

And bit Haru’s body off.

The Monokuma nonchalantly tossed Haru’s head into a compost box.

The camera focused on Haru’s bodyless head amidst the dried leaves, banana peels, apple cores, and other things in the compost box.

Haru Yoshino, The Ultimate Gardener, was dead.

Phantom Thieves having a crush headcanons

Ren Amamiya

He tends to lay it on thick

He won’t flat out confess, but he will say various things that are definitely not leaving much room for questions

He’ll use cheesy pick up lines as well as just as cheesy nicknames that are exclusive to s/o

To be fair to s/o if they don’t think he’s serious: he does playfully flirt with his friends. //cough Ryuji

He is the master at catching glances without being caught and he uses that to his advantage. No one will know he’s got his eyes on s/o

If s/o manages to catch him looking at them, he is a little bit caught off guard and his face may blush a little bit

Ren doesn’t really mind if any of his friends tease him about the crush. But honestly he isn’t going to really talk about his crush- at least, not that often. He just doesn’t see times to really mention it

Usually pretty calm and relaxed whenever he’s around to s/o. However, sometimes if s/o catches him off guard he could be left stuttering a bit. And by catching off guard is more so friendly, unexpected gestures or seeing how adorable s/o’s laugh is

Daydreams about the possibility of his crush reciprocating his affections. Honestly, he never really thinks on the possibility of rejection. That rarely, if ever, crosses his mind.

Ren starts to get really, genuinely nervous when it comes to giving an actual confession and/or s/o confessing. He kind of seems more shy-ish and blushy

Ryuji Sakamato

Oh no

Look its one thing to look at girls and think they are super cute, its another to actually find himself having feelings

He’s gonna be flustered about it like the sweet golden boy he is

Talking to them? Blushing. Seeing something that reminds him of them? Blushing. Thinking about them? Blushing. His friends teasing him about it? Look at that face, its adorable

He really badly wants to ask them out but just? can’t?

Its the fact that Ryuji seems to struggle finding the right words and is tripping over them to a point that a repeat of said words is necessary

His first assumption was this just meant he felt a surge of inspiration for his art

It's weird. Nothing really inherently changes with how he acts around his crush. If anything, he is just trying to be around them more now or is talking about how their beauty is unrivaled

Is really shameless whenever he looks at them and really isn’t trying to hide it

If they watch him do his art, or are just around, he finds it harder to focus and he feels a weird type of pressure now to do well-

Finds himself observing them and becomes keenly aware of some of their quirks

Yusuke is gonna daydream and someone is gonna need to snap this boy out of it

Will start trying to find excuses to touch s/o, whether he’s actually aware he’s doing that or not is up to you.

Feels kind of honored in a way whenever his crush compliments his art

Isn’t gonna confess right out the gate, mostly because he weirdly doesn’t see a reason to do it right away

Not even because of nerves necessarily

Like Ren, he seems pretty chill and relaxed. Which he is, s/o would have no idea he really is crushing on them

Makoto Niijima

O h.

Is super unsure how to approach it and it really doesn’t take much to get her blushing. S/o just looking her way and offering that smile to her will do it

Makoto finds herself often kind of "fleeing" the scene cause she just doesn't know what to do

And she isn't the best when it comes to being secretive when looking their way. Her face bursts to red if/when she is caught by her crush if she has a book handy her face is going right in there

Confides in Ann and is ultimately asking her for help

Has also for sure confided in Sae if she had any helpful advice

Someone please help her

She is pretty stiff when around her crush, even when sitting across from them

Uses school as a way to help her get closer to her crush. "Why don't we study together? That way we can help each other."

Sometimes worries she may be getting on her crush’s nerves

If they give her literally anything she grows a faint blush and is kind of not sure how to operate

Makoto kind of rather just watch from afar in a sense.

Futaba Sakura

Futaba would need someone to tell her how she’s feeling. Like, she kind of has a . . .guess of what it is she’s feeling. But she really isn’t gonna gonna grasp it

Futaba becomes a lot more talkative when it comes to her crush. A lot. Not only that but she will definitely talk with more nerdy lingo. {Someone smite her if they don't understand something she said}

While not super blushy, unless her crush touches her, she is VERY fidgety. Rocking on her heels, playing with her pockets, playing with her hands-

Stealing glances is 50/50. Sometimes she is as good as Ren, other times her skills are on the wavelength of Ryuji

May sometimes attempt to doll herself up for s/o. However, doing this is usually super subtle as well as rare

If she can, Futaba kind of prefers things like calling her crush. Because they can't see her and it helps the nerves. But the part she isn't a fan of is being unable to see them. Plus, hearing their voice over tech just isn’t the same as hearing it when they are standing next to one another

Like Ann, she would kind of prefer to take these feelings to the grave than say them outloud. It's embarrassing and she really doesn't want to feel what rejection feels like

That’s the part she’s feels the most uneasy about

Haru Okumura

She knows exactly what she is feeling. Now its more of a question of what it is she’s going to do with them

Will more often invite them to cafes or just quaint places in general

No real nervous ticks or anything, a lot like Ren and Yusuke honestly

She prefers not to confess, as she doesn't want to risk putting any kind of wedge in the friendship she has

Not like she can't though, but she will holdout against doing so for a while

Gets nervous if she learns someone flirted with her crush or her crush flirts with someone else, regardless if it's playful

May actually push her a bit more towards the idea of a confession if that happens

Offers to buy things for her crush sometimes. She can afford it and she would love nothing more than to see them smile even if its something typically expensive and they insist she doesn’t have to do that

Whenever s/o offers to help garden with her she’s already smiling so wide and sounding a little excited before she can really do anything about it

So everyone has their own portrayals/headcanons for Akiren’s personality and relationships when they create content with him, I decided to write out how I portray him! ☕️❤️⭐️✨

I love the name Ren Amamiya for him. It’s translation is pretty much Lotus flower in a Rain Palace (so cute!!).

I headcanon him as a trans boy! Pronouns are he/him! 🏳️‍⚧️ He’s gotten top surgery and trains his voice to be deep.

Ren is very shy, quiet and sweet when you first meet him, but once he’s comfortable around someone he becomes a bit more talkative, cheeky and a lil’ bratty.

Country Boy alert! This boy is SO in tune with nature. He loves plants so much, he started a tiny garden in his attic. He uses the herbs and flowers he grows to make spices and sugars for pastries! 🥖🥐🍰

He’s also fascinated with the stars. He likes to sit on the roof of Leblanc at night to stargaze. ⭐️✨

We all know Ren is a cat in a human’s body! He likes chilling in small spaces, cuddling soft things like pillows and plush toys, and taking naps! Number one way to buy his love? Head scritches!

His favorite things to eat (besides Leblanc curry lol) are donuts, bread, cotton candy, sushi, and ramen. He also loves strawberry milk but can’t drink too much or his tummy will hurt.

Ren has an oral fixation. Whenever he’s feeling nervous, stressed or on the verge of an anxiety attack he NEEDS something to chew or suck on. His go to is lollipops because his mother liked them too. If he doesn’t have a lollipop on hand, he’ll just suck his thumb.

Old fashioned boy, can’t figure out how to use today’s devices to save his life.

Only one he uses is a Nintendo Switch to play Animal Crossing and Cooking Mama! still needs help from Futaba sometimes lol

Bless his heart.

Ren is such a sweetie…

He never notices when someone is flirting with him. He can’t take a hint. Send him flowers? Oh nice, he’ll talk your ear off about flowers! Buy him sweets? Good, he was getting hungry! Compliment him? He’ll give you one too! Fr is anyone wants to date this boy they gotta grab him by the face and tell him to him straight.

At the same time, Ren is so sweet he never sees the bad in people. Which in turn makes it far too easy for him to be taken advantage of. He’s quick to blame himself for everything even if nothing was his fault.

Ren’s relationships with others! ❤️

Ryuji

Ryuji is his absolute best friend! Those two are inseparable. They hangout together the most!

Ren likes falling asleep in Ryuji’s lap and getting headpats from him.

Ryuji always knows when something is bothering his friend. The second he sees Ren pulling his hair and tapping his heel, he’s the first to pull him aside and ask him what’s wrong along with a feel better hug.

It’s not uncommon for Ryuji to always have an arm around Ren’s shoulder or waist just to keep him safe.

Ann

Besties!!

Ann thinks Ren is absolutely ADORABLE! Girl straight up pampers him like a baby brother. ❤️

She’s always taking Ren shopping for clothes. Once she discovered he likes pastels she went all out on finding the cutest outfits for him to wear.

Ann is always carrying sweets in her school bag, so whenever Ren is tugging on her sleeve and quietly asking for candies with his cute lil face she doesn’t hesitate to give him some. When she found out sucking on a lollipop calms Ren down, she made sure to always have a couple in her bag.

Morgana

Ren sees Morgana as the ultimate plush toy most of the time.

At first Mona didn’t enjoy constantly being picked up and cuddled half to death, but he accepted his fate after a while.

It’s actually nice to know he can provide Ren with comfort.

Morgana takes his job of being Ren’s cuddle buddy very seriously!

Yusuke

Something about the artist’s aura is incredibly soothing to Ren. He likes to be in Yusuke’s presence whenever he’s drawing or painting.

Whiiich often leads to Ren falling asleep and Yusuke having a stroke because GOD if Ren isn’t the most flawless prettiest thing he’s ever laid eyes on. Fr half his sketchbooks are full of drawings of Ren asleep.

They love going to the park and stargazing together!

Makoto

So you know how cats react to people they don’t like?

Yeah.

These two are not a good match

That brief time when Makoto was stalking him was extremely stressful for Ren and he didn’t like it. It doesn’t help that Makoto is still so strict and wants to be a police officer after everything Ren’s been through.

Futaba

SOS Ren has no idea what she’s saying most of the time

Futaba teases him for not knowing about basically anything modern and drags him to watch anime with her and talk his ear off. Sweet Ren still doesn’t get it but it’s nice to see Futaba so happy about something she loves!

Haru

Oh, she’s basically his mom.

Ren was having a panic attack once, so Haru pulled him to lay on her chest so she could stroke his hair and calm him down. He started sucking his thumb and that was the exact second she was like “this is my baby now, I’ve adopted him”.

Haru was excited when she saw Ren little garden and they trade gardening tips often! Sometimes they bring all the crops and herbs they grew separately and make delicious treats for their friends with them!

Goro

/deep breath/

DO I HAVE TO SAY IT?

Goro is Ren’s number one protector. Ren is the only person that can cuddle up to him and give him physical affection. Ren could spend an entire Phantom Thieves meeting sitting in Goro’s lap and playing with his hair and Goro wouldn’t bat an eye.

Similar to Ryuji, Goro always notices when something is up with Ren. Occasionally he’ll give Ren a little present like a plush toy, candy, or just shiny trinkets he knows Ren will love just to see him happy.

Whenever Ren is really stressed or upset about something, Goro is the one he’ll call.

Ren spends time at Goro’s apartment a lot where they have lots of movie nights with cuddles :3

Shoes Over Flowers

There are many pieces of symbolism in Extraordinary You, but two of the most important and frequently used ones are Shoes and Flowers. While their meanings are explicitly implied in scenes, there are also some scenes where their implicit symbolism is necessary to understand the subtext.

Shoes

To put it in the simplest terms, when shoes are gifted from one person to another, it is the representation of the givers love to the receiver, and when worn by someone a representation of the personality of the owner.

For the personality of the owner, take these shoes Ju Da usually wears-- they are old, worn, and in poor condition, in need of replacement. She is also bullied by her classmates and Nam Joo’s mother for wearing them. They represent the character of Ju Da in ‘Secret’, poor, worn-out, and in need of changing.

An example of it being symbolic of love, of course, is the heels Oh Nam Joo gifted Ju Da. They are beautiful, expensive, only pair in the world, shoes. But also when contrasted with the rest of Ju Da’s footwear in a subsequent shot, they are also impractical, and do not match with her usual lifestyle at all. This is also essentially, Nam Joo’s love for Ju Da-- beautiful yet impractical, expensive without thought to Ju Da’s own personality and way of life.

On the other hand, are the shoes Lee Do Hwa gifted Ju Da. They are beautiful, but more importantly, comfortable, and something she can wear easily and regularly. The butterfly Do Hwa draws on it represents change. Here, Do Hwa presents his love for Ju Da-- comfortable, thoughtful, and ultimately something that can be used to spur changes in the story.

Once she gets these, Ju Da starts wearing the sneakers in the shadow-- they represent a much newer and fresher side of her, one which will hopefully bring about change to the story.

An interesting scene with this subtext is the time when Ju Da is locked in once again by her bullies and throws the shoe at the door. Lee Do Hwa then runs in, assuming it was the bullies who threw the shoe when it really was Ju Da. This represents a shift in Ju Da’s character, and the frustration she had with her character in Secret-- her throwing the shoe is an attempt to discard the naive and gullible personality the writer has given her.

But the most important scene with the subtext of shoes, is this one. Like always, even the lectures teachers give students in the background have subtextual value in every scene they speak, this one especially.

“Look at these shoes. Do you think these are the artist’s or someone else’s?”

In this scene, applying the subtext, what is asked is ‘Do the character’s feelings and personality belong to them or the writer?’ This scene comes right around the time when Baek Kyung asks Dan Oh how she knows if her feelings are real, and how he feels as if the author knows more about his feelings then Kyung himself.

“I think its the artists. Had the artist not drawn the shoes, there wouldn’t have been a painting.”

The first possibility that is shown, is that the shoes (feelings) that the characters are feeling are given by the writer. Had the writer not created these characters, they wouldn’t feel anything.

“What do you mean? The shoes are real, but the painting isn’t.”

Another perspective argues that the characters are real, and so are their feelings in the shadow. Because the stage (painting) is not real and a mere farce. Who they are in the shadow is their real self.

“The painting is the real one. What we’re looking at right now is the painting, not the shoes.”

Another argument is that at the end of the day what will remain in existence are the characters the writer made them as. Their feelings in the shadow will be erased without a mark, while their stage selves will remain.

“A masterpiece like this goes beyond the shoes itself, it makes you contemplate about existence. (...) it can be interpreted in various ways.”

The final conclusion by the teacher is that this is the process of existence. Both the shadow and stage selves are real, because they’re both interpretations of the character-- how they’re viewed by the writer, and how they’re viewed by themselves.

Flowers

Flowers have various subtexts under different situations, but they all have the blanket symbolism of feelings and love.

The Trumpet Creeper’s flower symbolises the love of Dan Oh and Haru in the comic, and that they will wait for, and remember each other. It eventually becomes the means by which the two worlds are connected.

The flower keychain that Dan Oh bought in the stage also has the same flower, but which she gives to Baek Kyung who initially throws it away. It is borrowed love, in a way, because it does not belong to him, and symbolises Dan Oh’s love. He eventually picks it up and keeps it with him, hoping to gain back Dan Oh’s love, but it is too late. At the end of the show, he returns the keychain, whose flower is symbolic of Dan Oh and Haru’s love, to Haru, the rightful owner of Dan Oh’s love.

In this instance too, the pink flowers symbolise Baek Kyung’s love for Dan Oh. However, he never actually gets to give the flowers to her, symbolizing his unsaid and unrequited love.

Finally, an interesting scene where this comes into use is here.

“I’ve stopped tending to the flowers in the garden. No matter how much I care for and water them, they live and die as the writer wants.”

Applying the subtext here, we see that this is actually an insight into Ju Da’s attitude towards love. She does not see it worth her while to try and grow them, because the writer ultimately has control over it, just as she does not wish to fight for her and Lee Do Hwa’s love, as she believes that they cannot ultimately go against the writer’s wishes.

“Please, you have to hear me out—”

“I don’t have to do anything for you. Fuck, I don’t even know your real name!”

Hajime knew he was signing up for trouble the moment you gave him your name and placed his drink of choice in front of him. Seven months ago, he sought refuge at a hole-in-the-wall bar, one hidden in the shadows and away from the skyscrapers he was learning to detest. Your back had been turned towards him as he politely for a glass of whiskey, neat, but even the world of accomplished, beautiful heiresses couldn’t prepare him for the sight that was you. Hajime immediately believed that you weren’t supposed to be behind the polished wooden counter and underneath some poor lighting, that the uniform you donned was simply nothing more than a costume you were itching to get out of.

And idiotic, foolish him, stumbled and stuttered when you asked for a name to be put on the tab, and before he could stop from plunging into a world of inevitable pain, he replied, “Haru.”

So gripped by the fear of knowing that this bar was the last place he was supposed to be, so initially distrusting of your ability to keep secrets under wrap (an unspoken duty of bartenders), he lied through his teeth. And every Wednesday and Friday nights for the weeks following like clockwork, he would leave behind his custom Balenciaga suit jacket, replace it with a cheaper, itchier blazer stored in the closet of his office, take the train, and walk two and a half blocks to get to the alleyway where his asylum existed. He allowed you to subject him to any of your new concoctions, and whenever you let him stay as you closed up the bar (though mainly at his insistence because he always ended up being the last customer and wanted to make sure you could get to the station safely), it further emboldened his belief that he wanted nothing more than to be there by your side.

The guilt clawed through his chest day after day – it didn’t take half a brain to know that asking you out would be a bad idea in the long run, but he convinced himself that he would come clean with you some day. He was going to get out of this arranged marriage smoothly, deal with any damages that would ensue, and then unveil everything about his background in hopes that you would undoubtedly accept him and everything would be just fine.

But of course, karma would have it that he pays for his sins. He became too comfortable with the sneaking and the hiding, the lies about his job and role in the business world naturally spilling off his tongue. His world came crashing down when he least expected it – he had been waiting for you at your apartment in a t-shirt and sweatpants, answering work emails on his cellphone and ignoring some of Tooru’s nonsensical texts. Naturally, he perked up when he heard your key turn the bolt, already standing from the couch to greet you at the door and maybe help you with your things. Hajime was unaware of your rigid silence as you accepted his kiss on your cheek, letting him take the bags of groceries from your arms and bring them to the kitchen. It’s not until he sees the tabloid magazine haphazardly stashed next to the leeks and freezes at the two faces on the cover, two extremely, unsettling familiar faces.

In that moment, he could hear nothing but the dreadful pounding of his heart. He could feel your presence leaning against the sink and boring holes into his back, pleading, beseeching for some sort of explanation.

“It’s not what it looks like,” he trips over himself, finding the courage to turn around and face you. But what breaks him more than anything is how disappointed you look – he could take anger and tears right now, but the look of on your face that shows he has ultimately failed you crushes him.

“So what is it then?” You ask calmly, but the bitterness is scathing. “Because to me, it looks like the announcement of a marriage between two people who just so happen to be heirs to a couple of the largest companies in Japan.”

Hajime would like nothing more than the earth to open and swallow him whole, just so he has some time to gather up his excuses and do anything to keep you with him. It’s disgustingly selfish, but he can’t lose you. He just can’t.

“I don’t want it,” he says and reaches out tentatively, taking a single step until he’s right in front of you and lightly grasping your waist. You look over his shoulder defiantly, avoiding his gaze every time he tries to obstruct your vision. “I don’t want her, I just want you,” he spills.

“I always felt like something was off,” you quietly digress. “There were a couple of things that didn’t seem to line up, but I didn’t question it. I didn’t want to pry – I wanted you to open up whenever you felt comfortable. But I never imagined it to be something like this.”

“Please, you have to hear me out—”

“I don’t have to do anything for you. Fuck, I don’t even know your real name!”

It’s disturbing to know that the man you’ve been to bed with, the man that’s cooked for you on multiple occasions, the man that plagues your dreams from time to time in the last five months, goes by a different name. Takahiro Haru might have been just the average, run-of-the-mill, one of many financial analysts working over at Sony, and he was yours. But Iwaizumi Hajime, heir to one of the largest business corporations in Japan and an extremely eligible bachelor, could never be that.

“I’ll tell you everything,” he gulps, eyes frantic and searching for anything in your face and posture that says you’ll stay. “No more lies, but I’m doing my best to get out of this. For you, us. And—”

“I’m not the solution to getting out of your responsibilities, Haru. I know it’s 2020, but we’ve only been seeing each other for five months – your parents would be furious if they knew I was in the picture. Hajime moves to cradle your cheek, silently beckoning for you to lean into his palm. His thumb softly strokes your skin and you hate how comforting it is. You hate how easy it could be to just take his hand and jump into the deep end without a second though – that’s the control he has over you, and it’s incredibly frustrating.

“I don’t love her. Heir or not, I should be with someone I love, no?”

“But—”

“I love you,” and the way he says it like it’s the first time sends your heart to the clouds. “Nothing’s going to change that,” he tries to promise, using his free hand to lift one of yours to his lips and kissing the knuckles. And you want to believe him – you want to believe him so bad but it’s impossible. There are too many extraneous factors; going through with all this would thrust you into a world that you were completely unprepared for. Your life would be unceremoniously uprooted and haphazardly buried into a new garden.

Was it all worth it to be by this man’s side?

“I need time,” you whisper, moving away from Hajime’s hold on you. “I need time and space to think about this, but I can’t have you here to influence my decision.”

“…how long will that take?”

“As long as I need,” you firmly reply. Tears prick the corners of your eyes as you struggle to say the next sentence. “In the meantime…I need my spare key back.”

Even though Hajime already feels like he’s drowning in a pool of lava, the unmistakable chill of dread that runs through his veins is excruciating. Having your spare key meant unbridled access to you, only needing to give you a quick text whenever he was going to visit. But with this permission revoked, he wouldn’t be free to see you whenever he likes. He wouldn’t be able to escape into your calming embrace at the end of a long day and would have no other option but to return to his lonely, downtown penthouse. The realization is suffocating, like smoke entering his lungs and stealing away all his oxygen. He needs you so bad – this can’t be the end.

“No,” Hajime shakes his head stubbornly, making wide strides out of the kitchen and into your living room.

“Haru—”

“I’ll give you all the space for as long as you need, but don’t make me give you back the spare key—”

“Iwaizumi!” You cry out, teeth gnawing your bottom lip afterwards. He loathes the fact that the first time you call him by his real name is in the midst of the biggest storm he’s ever encountered – it’s full of raw pain and frustration, a complete antithesis to the loving tone you usually have when referring to him by his other name. It’s a whirlwind that only one can run from, and he knows it has to be him. After all, this was his monstrous creation.

Hajime does his best to the keep the trembling of his hands to a minimum as they fish out his keychain and start unwinding the most significant piece of metal on there. The closer it gets to the other end of the ring, the more he struggles to not toss it away and fight for himself. But he places the key in your awaiting palm and watches with a breaking heart as your fingers close around it, your nails digging into your own flesh.

“You need to leave,” you struggle to order.

“I didn’t mean for it to happen this way.”

“I know.”

You don’t stop him when he moves forward to give you one of the sweetest kisses you’ve ever experienced, relishing in these last moments of intimacy. Both of you itch for more, but now is not the time. You walk him to the door, heart sinking as he slides on his polished shoes. He gives you another once over and drinks in all the details he can, branding your image in his brain for the next possible agonizing weeks.

“I love you, (y/n),” he quietly declares for the nth time.

And he desperately clings onto the little hope that he has when you reply, “I love you too…Hajime.”

About the komahina kids death, its bebi isnt it :(? If you can spoil it howndoes the parents react to this?

:) it actually isn't bebi! as the "mastermind" of their respective killing game, it wouldn't serve for them to die prematurely,,before the ultimate showdown between hope and despair! as for komahina reaction,,,it's definitely hard. even knowing it's just the neo world program and that their child is (physically) ok,,, I feel like they'd both force themselves to watch. as penance, for letting this happen at all. nagito says after the fact that he "didn't want her to be alone". I think, they watch as much as they can but...they probably collapse onto each other, holding each other on the floor and sob...nagito's health had been worsening due to stress and hajime refused to let himself be vulnerable at all but watching their child die in such a brutal manner....they just let it all out. I wouldn't discount the notion of one or both of them being physically ill, either. they are probably dragged from the room and forced to stop watching and rest, but I doubt either of them would be able to sleep for a very, very long time. anyway, spoilers for this hypothetical killing game!

it is actually their little sister, kiko, who dies- or rather, is executed- during bebi's game. kiko would actually be the "protagonist" of this game and as their class size dwindles down, she becomes increasingly desperate to get her twin brother (haruki) home to their family (the twins have lost their memories of bebi- a cruelty of junko's design). truly her father's daughter, kiko designs a murder plot in which haruki would be the blackened by her murder set-up- much like chiaki with nagito. however...kiko isn't the ultimately lucky student. she messes up, she's the real killer, but the way she designed the murder, she doesn't know that. at the trial they're gonna convict haru (which would've been wrong and kiko would've survived! but she doesn't know that) and that's when kiko manipulates and convinces the class to convict her instead, thinking she's saving haru. but when she's voted and revealed the blackened....it's a shock to them all. haru is shocked and confused, tearing up as they take half of his soul away,,,but he turns to the side and sees bebi, this random kid who barely spoke to kiko, sobbing inconsolably. "kiki-nii, please, y-you can't leave! please don't leave me.." and kiko clenches her fists and smiles. "it'll be ok, kurakura-chan..it'll be over soon. you're crying harder than my own brother, haha. .....haruki. take care of bebi. you guys..need to get out of here. together. get back to papa, haru. we can't....he can't lose us both." she's still smiling at them when the collar cinches around her neck and she's dragged away. the music that plays while she's killed is an eerie rendition of a lullaby hajime used to sing to her. after she's died, with haruki standing there numb, dried tears on his face, and bebi crumpled on the ground, monokuma decides to instigate further tension between the remaining siblings (half of which don't know they're siblings) "you killed her." "I...killed kiko?" "you killed them all." "no, I..I didn't. I didn't. I wouldn't. it's not possible." "your father did the same. orchestrate a killing game." "you're ..lying...daddy never hurt anyone." "hinata didn't. but he's not your dad, is he?" "shut up.." "you wanted so desperately to show them the despair in your heart that you killed them all!" "shut up ..!" "what kind of monster kills their own sister?" "SHUT UP! I DIDNT..I DIDNT..my ..iko...I just wanted them to stay.." haruki just wipes his eyes. "what..are you talking about?" ":) I'll let your sibling explain!" "kiko is dead." he spits it out. "good thing you have an extra one!" "kamukura, what is he talking about?" "I..I.." "kamukura. my sister..she just...you have to tell me. please." "she was my sister too." "what?" "I'm. you're. you're my brother, haru."
