AN: I’m back on my bs again and here to feed everyone 😅 sorry it’s so sporadic but I hope this holds everyone over for a bit!

When I say you should be nominated for sainthood Yn, I mean it!

These guys are a lot to deal with

Honestly, you have no clue how they even functioned before you came along

I mean, the coach practically begged you to be their manager

Man’s is tired 😴

Anyways, it’s safe to say that practices are eventful

Despite’s Bokuto saying he’s “matured”, he hasn’t

“How come Hinata got more sets than I did?” Bokuto asks Atsumu

You 👉🏻😃 crap he noticed-

“It’s simple, Hinata was just on today and you weren’t,” Atsumu responses, walking away

Bokuto 👇🏻

Meanwhile, Yaku and Hakuba are arguing about something 🙄

“That’s block sucked man, stop moving your hands all over!” Yaku shouts

“I wasn’t moving my hands all over, I was setting up for a receive when I knew I couldn’t block!” Hakuba yells back

On top of that Iwaizumi is yelling at Kageyama for practicing too much

Sakusa is complaining about how everyone needs to schedule their flu shot

And Aran has just all but abandoned the gym because he’s just over it

Thankfully, when practice was over, you were able to go home and spend some time enjoying one of your favorite hobbies

Crafting ✂️ 🎨 🧶

You had tried a lot of different crafts and found that you were pretty good at them

Everything from painting to knitting, from sculpting to resin

You enjoyed the creativity that crafts provided

It could be stressful but definitely not as stressful as your day job

Nothing can ever beat that stress 🙄

Anyways, you’d managed to keep your hobby on the down low

It wasn’t that you weren’t proud, it was more like you just hadn’t found the opportunity to bring it up

I mean, it’s not like you’re busy or something 😐

It wasn’t until one fateful night when your happy little secret was finally discovered

You see, you were home, watching/listening to some show while trying to knit

It was a newer hobby you’d picked up, on top of jewelry making, crocheting, etc

A jack of all trades our sweet YN 💅

You are knee deep in ‘knit one purl two’ rhythm when the door bell rings

Now since you had very little life outside the team, you were wondering who it could possibly be

You didn’t want to lose your stitch so you stood up and made your way to the door

On the other side was none other then Hinata and Kageyama

Panicked you quickly opened the door and stared at them

🎶 when he looks at me, and I look at him and he looks at me and I LOOK AT HIMMM 🎶

Obviously, you are draped in yarn while dawning other comfy attire 💅

Arguably two of the most “chaotic” members of the team just stare at you

Literally 👉🏻👁️👄👁️

You look at them like “What? Can’t I have a life outside of being your caretaker?”

Of course Hinata probably thinks you just escaped some maniac who attempted to tie you up with yarn of all things��

“OMG YN WHERE YOU KIDNAPPED??” Hinata yells, grabbing onto your shoulders and shaking you rather violently

“I’m in my own house Shoyo…” you respond, brain trying to reconnect to reality

Leave it to Kageyama to help the situation

“HINATA BOKE YN ISNT KIDNAPPED, THEY ARE PRACTICING THEIR KNOT TYING SKILLS!” Kageyama screams, smacking Hinata in the back of the head

See… helping 😌

Sighing as the two dunces fight in front of you, you try to calmly correct their mistake

“I’m not kidnapped, nor am I practicing any nautical knot tying, I’m learning to knit,” you explain as the two cock an eyebrow in your direction.

Both of them look at each other and then back to you, confused 🫤

You 👉🏻😐🙄

“You know what, it’s really not important! What do you two need?” You question, wondering why you were interrupted in the first place

“Well now I can’t remember why we came here!” Hinata exclaims, “can you Kageyama?”

“Yeah not really,” Kageyama answers

You definitely deserve a pay raise Yn

“Ok well if you two could kindly go home and rest that would be much appreciated. You know how angry Hajime gets when you guys don’t get enough sleep,” you scold as the two men’s eyes widen

They quickly take off, racing each other to who knows where

As you close and lock your door, you think about how the next days practice with go

Will Hinata and Kageyama tell the other guys about your hobby?

Will Hinata and Kageyama even remember?

Honestly you figure brain cells are on your side since the two that just exited your apartment have a combined one on a good day

There’s no way they’d ever tell the guys about your knitting…

Sure… yeah… absolutely… it’s DEFINITELY fine : D

*12 hours later*

“YN I didn’t know you tied nautical knots on your days off? What a unique hobby!” Yaku says, first the next morning at practice

“I didn’t even know you fished Yn,” Hakuba adds

“Maybe YN just likes the art of knot making?” Aran suggests

You 👉🏻 🧍🙄

“I don’t tie knots guys, I knit… KNIT!” You shout as their eyes all pop open

“Knit? As in like what grandmas do?” Atsumu inputs

Please someone 👊🏻

“Atsumu shut up! Knitting is something alot of people do to relieve stress. And with a team filled with dummies like you, I’m sure YN needs all the stress relieve they can get!” Iwaizumi shouts

“Oh my god,” you whisper as the gym fills with chatter

“Why didn’t you tell us about your hobby Yn?” Ushijima asks as you just stare at him and gesture to the chaos that is currently unfolding

Ushijima just nods and quietly walks away to resume his practice

“So YN do you knit? Like scarves or port holders or something?” Suna questions as he walks with you to your office

“Well I’m just learning the art right now but I do a few other crafts in my spare time,” you say, still ignoring whatever is happening on the floor

“That’s cool, you should post some of your crafts online. I’m sure you could sell them or something? Maybe make a little extra money?”

You shrug, not really interested in extra funds and more excited to just do something you enjoy

Or should I say, the TEAM enjoys 😅

Because if you think you’re going to get away with not teaching one craft Yn, you are very mistaken

Hinata is sending you 5 minute craft videos every day

Bokuto wants to know if you can knit special pads for him for practice

Atsumu is asking for a custom “Atsumu” phone case 🙄

It literally doesn’t stop

So what do we do about this? Well there’s only one thing we CAN do 👀

🎉 CRAFT PARTY 🎉

That’s right, you gather all your craft supplies and haul them into the gym one Friday during practice

The guys all stare at you like you’ve walked into the wrong gym

“Uhh Yn you do know this is a volleyball gym right?” Yaku jokes as you set up your table on the side lines and nod

“Yep! But after practice it’s going to be a craft party!”

“Craft… PARTY???” The guys all shout in tones varying from excitement to pure confusion

“Yes since you all want me to make you crafts, I’m just going to show you how to do it instead!” You exclaim

“You made sure to get non-toxic glue right Yn? I don’t trust some of the idiots not to eat it,” Sakusa remarks, staring at a few members in particular

You roll you eyes and smile, “yes Sakusa, it’s all safe! And I have crafts for everyone.”

Surprisingly, the guys are rather good at crafts

Sakusa’s flexibility makes crocheting and knitting a piece of cake

Atsumu’s flamboyant nature makes him great at painting

Hinata and Kageyama have somehow turned bracelet making into a competition

Komori and Yaku are great with stencils!

And you? You are just happy to be able to share your hobby with your favorite people 🥰

Pandora!Kaito/Hakukai

Au idea: the events in Magic Kaito happens 30 years before Detective Conan. Kaito found pandora and was fatally shot by the og Black Org. Hakuba used Pandora to save Kaito but the stone merged with him and he became immortal. Kaito is forever 17 while everyone around him aged. To avoid people suspicion, Kaito travel around the world with Hakuba (the only other people that knows the truth were Chikage and Akako - the later knew without wither of them telling). First they stayed in England, where Hakuba finish his law degree and Kaito interned for a Museum with his Tokyo University's Museum Study degree. Then they moved to France, Hakuba consult for Interpol and Kaito works for the Lourve. A few years later they moved to Spain, then Hungary, then America... All the while Kaito research in museum archives on ways to undo Pandora. They had a peaceful 20 years; however, Hakuba constantly felt guilty because he faulted himself for making Kaito immortal, thus, dooming him to a future of eternal solitude. On the other hand, Kaito also felt guilty because he felt like Hakuba is not living a full life because of him (constantly moving around in fear of surrounding people noticing Kaito's unchanging nature, hiding Kaito from the Black Org, etc). Instead of talking about it, Hakuba just slowly push Kaito away. Kaito still have free rein of Hakuba's property, his houses, his credit cards, the man was just never there. And this in turn make Kaito felt abandoned.

Just as that happened, there is rumor of another pandora in Japan. Kaito went back to his home country and continued moonlighting as KID. This is where he met the cast of Conan. However, his reappearance also drew attention of the now-restructured Black Org... and despite their estranged relationship, Hakuba still had intel on and keep an eye on Kaito...

It's only a matter of time before they have a final showdown with the mysterious organization.

some doodles i did for the fic i’ve been writing set seven years post canon, one year after the BO takedown. the last two of which,,, don’t really make sense until the third part of the series, which...who knows when i’ll get to that when i haven’t even finished the first part.

hakuba left watson back in japan only to lose his will to live cause both akako and kaito just brought ALL OF THEIR BIRDS. WHICH IS A LOT. and they’re all very very tired. and on a bit of a wild goose chase. also akako has a cat cause she’s like a mishmash of witch stereotypes canonically so why not, you know. it just kind of turns up every now and then and they all have to deal with it.

uhhh second pic is the most tense post fake-shinichi-death road trip across america you will ever come across. none of them like or trust each other. they of course crosses paths with the ekoda gang wild goose chase.

gonna share a snippet for the first drawing cause i’m proud of it:

“A statue? Aren’t jewels his usual MO?”

“Yes,” Mitsuhiko says. “But recently he’s been branching out. A sculpture here, a scroll there. He even robbed a library last week.”

“Weird.”

“It’s not as weird as it seems. There’s a link between all of the things he’s been stealing - legends and rumours. Fake magic. Witchcraft. It all seems to come back to eternal life.”

“So what you’re saying is -” Hattori says, folding his arms behind his head. “- Kaitou KID is the kind of idiot who believes in magic.”

“Exactly,” Mitsuhiko says.

About the Kaito keeping his secret ID through Refuge In Audacity do you think Conan stuck with his first guess that KID was younger than 20 or later dismissed it as KID wearing a mask? (Ik this isn't relevant to the kuroba sitcom but I had Ditto in the brain haha)

I personally hc that he logicked it away as "he can't be THAT young, learning all those skills he has would take time" and then Kaito TOLD HIM his mom was Phantom Lady who did crazy gymnastics so she couldn't have been very old and dissappeared a scant 20 years ago and Conan went "welp"

Ik that Hakuba figured KID's age through DNA and then compared to highschool databases across the country, but first that's not how DNA tests work, the length that tells how old someone is changes from person to person, and second, I'm not familiar w Japanese laws regarding privacy and DNA databases but I'm fairly sure that what Hakuba did was like. Super illegal. Probably why Hakuba hauled ass back to London after that case actually, I bet he only got away with it bc nepotism (IT'S SURE ILLEGAL IN THE UK)

I still rlly want to know if Hakuba sat KID down w an optometrist board and an IQ test though, HOW did he get that data. Like I bet Toichi and Chikage never even got Kaito tested bc they thought it funnier to keep people guessing just HOW smart he was, plus Kaito wanted to share class with Aoko and Nakamori wanted her to be in a class where she could make friends her age, and that was the end of the topic

GREAT QUESTION I think conan kept it in mind, but became less sure of himself over time. conan/shinichi has a pretty skewed idea of what kids are capable of doing, and I think he knows this about himself, so it’s reasonable for him to think “...nah, it would be insane if a high schooler was doing all this… right?” and if he was basing his original age guess off of what he could see of kid’s face and body shape, well, he learned very quickly that kid can change any of those traits at any time. who’s to say that kid wasn’t wearing makeup/a mask/anything else that might change his silhouette? …left to his own devices for long enough, conan can become a victim of his own overthinking, lol.

aaaand then kaito dropped the Phantom Lady tidbit. that, if anything, seemed to me like a peace offering of some kind? possibly meant to even the playing field between them? as always, it’s hard to tell what shinichi and kaito actually Know in canon, though I’m of course personally a fan of them knowing the least amount of information possible while still being as intelligent as we know they are. because shenanigans >:D

if we want to have fun with it ;) , I think the phantom lady reveal only narrows down kid’s age to,,,,, younger than 30? ish? it mostly gives conan an upper limit, since he doesn’t know whether kid was born before or after her retirement, and she easily could’ve retired in her early 30s. what it Does confirm is that this kid isn’t the original one, but that only narrows his identity down to “probably a protege of kid #1.” from there, the biggest bit of provable evidence against kaito is that his father died right when the original kid disappeared, but that’s still a pretty big logic leap to make when you aren’t around kaito all the time (like hakuba is). and toichi had students, too! who knows who else he taught besides yukiko and sharon? who is more likely to be kaitou kid: an undercover protege of toichi’s, or his teenage son who has an alibi for multiple heists?

best I can tell from some brief research, in Japan, DNA collection isn’t regulated for law enforcement, but hakuba isn’t law enforcement, he’s a consultant at best. I think other DNA tests for ppl age 16+ require consent of the person, and 16 or younger require the consent of a parent. hakuba has NEITHER. hakuba was saved from being a juvenile criminal by nepotism and the fact that nakamori laughed in his face instead of charging him with obstruction of justice or something. and yeah, that’s Absolutely Not How DNA Tests Work adjfksjdj

FR THO!! now I’m imagining hakuba chasing kid through a museum yelling “WHAT NUMBER LOGICALLY FOLLOWS THE SERIES ACCORDING TO THE GIVEN PATTERN” while kid answers with, like, extremely confused perfect accuracy. “400 iq” honestly sounds more like something hakuba made up to explain the fact that kid could answer the iq test questions while rappelling down a skyscraper lol. and I totally agree, kaito’s probably never been officially tested—it’s important for kids to be with their peers, especially when you’re already likely to have child prodigy syndrome. also because kaito and aoko get along so well, they would run the risk of never making other friends (cough shinichi cough). plus, the kurobas probably like to avoid official records as much as possible, and scoring even in the 160+ range would gather attention that their family of internationally-wanted criminals does Not need

A while back, I remember Soma Cruz's page on the Castlevania wiki mentioning that he lived in the village of Hakuba, which is in Nagano Prefecture. I thought it was a bit weird that Mina Hakuba shared her surname with the town; was the implication that the town was named after the shrine?

Turns out it's a real place. It's a village surrounded by mountains, a real tourist and ski attraction, and they had the 1998 Winter Olympics there. Couldn't find much on it, but the pictures are beautiful. I love mountains.

It looks like a pretty rural place, so I was wondering about how the intro to Dawn of Sorrow shows Mina and Soma hanging around in a sprawling city surrounded by mountains. Either it got really built up over the years (it is the future, after all), or they're not in Hakuba at all. My interpretation is that they're in college in a different city entirely.

It also turns out that the village of Hakuba was created as a merger of two other villages in 1956, which brings up questions about the Hakuba Shrine and the Hakuba family. Was the new village named after the shrine? Or is it just a coincidence? Is it one of those things where peoples' surnames come from the village name; does Japan do that? Probably not important.

Since Hakuba hasn't been in canon for a while, (writers are cowards, put him back). I imagine he's living his best wild life. Man is living his best rich European holiday.

He's having the time of his life flirting with guys, being the rich pissy boy he is.

That's my hc. While others are busy dealing with shit in Japan, he's been asked to look a for a diamond ring lost by one of the rich ladies at the parties, he's searching for that ring while flirting with the lady's hot son.

Hakuba is doing self-care. He doesn't want grey hairs before 30. So he's taken a break from chasing about thieves.

Hakuba actually comes back to Japan purposefully for this case, stating later on the way to the crime that "If [Nightmare] is a black horse, then in chess that means that I, a [white horse], must move first."

I love that Aoko's referring to him as a horse, though! And Kaito's reaction just after this, when he realises who she means XD

What would you think - which characters should have more screentime in the series?

- DCMK Secret Santa

So my top pick for this is Eisuke Hondo, who I truly miss so so much. He had such a neat dynamic with Conan and his adjacency to the CIA and Black Org could have been used for so many more plots. I would really like to see his willingness to kill the person he thought killed his sister developed into an approach to justice that's different than Conan’s and allows for some discussion of morality. Also I think he should get to hang around Ran and remind Shinichi that he needs to put effort into actually staying close to his girlfriend instead of just pining after her. He should get to come back to Japan and get into trouble with the other DCMK teens.

On that note, I also want to see more of Hidemi Hondou. I feel like she's gotten a lot less screentime than the male NOCs but that her situation is absolutely rife with narrative potential. She had to kill her father, her brother nearly killed her, she is ridiculously competent and none of the murderers she works with really trust her. Also any case involving her becomes much more complicated just as a result of her presence.

Next up is Hakuba Saguru. I love him but he has not had a lot of development, and what exists is almost entirely built around his relationship to Kaito. I want to see him more in other contexts and learn more about why he's a detective. Also I love his and Heiji’s dynamic and wanna see them bicker more.

Also, I think we need more Nagano Trio cases, because every single one has slapped and also I love them all.

Ok, I managed to write SOMETHING for HakuKai Week. Woo! I have a little more for other days, but gosh I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to get anything considering how writing has been this year. Anyway, enjoy? They didn’t want to come out super shippy annoyingly enough, but it’s something -_-;;

Fitting a Role

Saguru, without a doubt, was not meant for the stage.

Kaito studied him critically as Saguru adjusted the sad-looking Holmes costume their classmates had cobbled together. Even the wannabe cosplay Saguru came to Japan in would have looked better. Plus, he was holding himself too stiffly. To think, here Saguru was getting to live his fanboy dream of being Holmes for a day and he wasn’t even having fun with it.

“Okay, stop,” Kaito said. “This is a travesty.”

Saguru glowered at him. “The costume,” he said stiffly, his shoulders forced too tight by poorly made sleeves, “doesn’t fit right.”

“That’s only part of the problem,” Kaito said. “You should be able to embody Holmes even wearing a paper bag. Why are you moving like the stage is full of land mines?”

“Acting is….different,” Saguru said. A lame excuse for a man that had the public eye on the regular. “There’s lines and an audience,” Saguru mumbled, unable to meet Kaito’s eyes.

“So? You deduct in front of people all the time.” Saguru treated solving a case like a stage in its own right with him performing a monologue. It really shouldn’t be this complicated.

Saguru shook his head, a pinched furrow in his brow. “But that isn’t acting.”

“It’s a role!” Kaito said rolling his eyes. “You’re a ‘detective’ so you act like one. Just be ‘Saguru the detective’ for a bit and add in some Holmes flair.”

“But—”

Kaito raised a hand. “Look. How would you enter this room if it was a case?” He watched expectantly as Saguru gave him a blank stare. An eyebrow lifted impatiently.

Hesitantly, Saguru walked to the edge of the stage. If this was a crime scene… He stepped forward, eyes sweeping the area like he would when searching for clues, back straight and ready for anything.

“Okay, good,” Kaito said. “Now how would Holmes enter the same room?”

“…Oh,” Saguru said like something was finally connecting.

“Exactly.” Took long enough. “The audience doesn’t exist. You’re here, you’re Holmes, and you have a case to solve and people to see through. Now give me that cape and hat thingy.” He made grabby hands in Saguru’s direction. “This is embarrassing.”

Saguru shrugged off his costume pieces, careful not to rip any seams. “You sew?” he asked as Kaito pulled out needle and thread, seemingly from nowhere.

“Yeah,” Kaito said, grabbing the cape first. “A bit. Enough to fix the fit of things. I can’t believe they gave the girls costuming just because they assumed they could sew.”

“Statistically speaking, they are more likely to know.”

“Okay but realistically speaking, most people these days do one tiny project in elementary school—if they’re lucky enough for that—and never pick up a needle again.”

“And yet,” Saguru said, sitting down across from Kaito with a searching look, “you know how to do a fair bit more than that.”

“It’s useful.” Kaito snipped a thread, mentally going through Saguru’s numbers for shoulder width and neck, readjusting plans. Hakuba’s eyes narrowed at him. Kaito could all but feel him skirting around accusing him of being Kid in his mind. “I’m a magician,” Kaito said, because it was true and he had legitimate reasons for learning to sew. “Sometimes you need to make pockets in things that don’t have pockets. And sometimes off-the-rack clothes fit like shit and you just want them to sit right.”

He was good at sewing fast, and even better at sewing fast for temporary things. It didn’t have to be perfect; it was a crappy stage play. It just had to fit better and stay in one piece for the whole play.

“Try that on,” Kaito said after a few silent minutes of work.

Saguru obliged, settling the silly-looking cape on his shoulders again. Not perfect, Kaito reflected, seeing all the tiny flaws in his work and the original stitching, but it was much better than before and Saguru could actually move his arms now without threatening to rip it.

“Great. Now the hat.” The hat was too big, so all Kaito had to do was take in the seams a bit and readjust the brim, which, ok, was basically taking the thing apart and remaking it all over again. Details.

“Why do you care if I have a fitting costume or can act?” Saguru asked bluntly.

Kaito glanced up from dismantling the hat, brows high. “One, you’re representing the class. Two, I’m acting too and I don’t want to hold it together if you choke.”

“I still can’t believe they cast you as Watson,” Saguru said, sounding tired. Kaito didn’t check his expression, the hat taking priority, but he could all but picture Saguru pinching the bridge of his nose.

“I can act,” Kaito said just as blunt. “They’re counting on me to carry the show if you trip up.”

“…Such a convenient array of skills you have,” Saguru said leadingly. “Acting, sleight of hand, making clothing fit, makeup…”

“What makes you think I know makeup?” Kaito asked.

“I overheard you giving tips about blending to Nakamori.”

Kaito sighed. “Stage makeup can be important, and if you’re going to learn stage makeup, might as well learn how to do regular makeup too. And stop implying I’m Kid. No matter how much you insinuate, I’m not going to confess.”

“Not confessing isn’t the same as not being Kid,” Saguru pointed out.

Kaito gave him a flat look before tossing the half-sewn hat in his face. “You know what? You can finish that yourself.”

Saguru blinked at him. “It’s genuinely annoying you to be accused.”

“It’s always annoyed me,” Kaito said sourly.

“You are generally tolerantly-annoyed. Or at least willing to argue.” He turned the hat pieces around in his lap. “I thought…”

“You thought what, Hakuba?”

“We had an… understanding? Dynamic?”

“I don’t mind some banter, but it gets tiring to be accused all the time. You make having a conversation into a minefield.”

“…Apologies,” Saguru said stiffly.

Kaito let him feel uncomfortable for a moment before holding out his hand with a heavy sigh. “I’ll finish the hat. Then you’re running through a scene with me until you can be Holmes to my Watson convincingly.”

Saguru handed the hat back slowly. Kaito pretended to not notice how he continued to stare a hole in Kaito’s head as Kaito bent back over his sewing. “Kuroba.”

“Hm?”

“Thank you.” Saguru sounded so stiff, Kaito could think he never thanked anyone before.

Kaito waved the thanks away. “I already said it’s not for you personally or anything.”

“All the same. You did not have to help, and you are helping.”

“Just act properly on stage and we’ll call it even,” Kaito said.

Hakuba actually smiled at him. A proper smile, not the smug ones he got when he thought he knew more than Kaito or that he had Kaito cornered with some stretch of logic. It was a lot nicer than the usual smiles. “I’ll do my best.”

Kaito finished up the hat as fast as possible. They would act. Saguru would get better at it. And they could go back to their usual circling each other like wary cats some other time. Kaito tried not to let the thought of returning to normal disappoint him.

“Your hat, Holmes,” Kaito said, affecting his Watson persona.

Saguru took it with more gravity than the action deserved. “Thank you, Watson.” As he put on the hat, Kaito could finally see a bit of Holmes in him.

It’s probably Keiko that tells Hakuba everything he missed (socially) when he was in England.

this one just put a really clear mental image of Hakuba coming back to Japan and asking the Ekoda group as a whole if he missed anything but then Kaito and Aoko breaking into a loud contrived argument about something and Keiko just calmly explaining the context of what they're arguing about.

Like maybe Kaito did a trick involving his doves, and feathers got everywhere, but Kaito disappeared before class was over so Aoko was left cleaning it up and is still a bit angy about it while Kaito's just all 'hey, I had to disappear it was part of the trick- you wouldn't want me to leave things incomplete would you?' And Keiko takes the role of neutral party that can talk about it all calmly....... something like that.

And then overtime she just became the one he started asking to avoid setting off social bombs.

When you interviewed for the job, you knew immediately you wouldn't get it

There were like 500 people interviewing!

Seriously the odds were not in your favor

Actually, come to think of it 🤔 you getting hired might have had a little something to do with a certain interaction you had by the bathrooms prior to your interview

You see, you were washing your hands when suddenly you heard a loud commotion coming from outside the hallway

You dried your hand and peeked out the door to see four large men arguing

"Keep it together will you!"- a tall, untoned blonde yelled

"Seriously Bokuto, what's wrong now? This is kind of important!"- a man with spikey hair said

"He's just upset because Kuroo teased him about not making the starting line up"- a red headed shorter man said

You figured you shouldn't interrupt their conversation so you wanted to quickly sneak out and head back to the interview

Unfortunately you opened the door and ran smack into the chest of the owl-haired man

"Oh my goodness, I apologize!"- You said, bowing to him a little

He was bigger than you but he was a professional volleyball player

The man looked at you, eyes wide and mouth open 😲

You 👉🏻👀😅😬 umm hi

The tall owl 👉🏻😳😳😳

"Bokuto for God's sakes! I'm really sorry about him! I'm Iwaizumi, the teams athletic trainer"- The spikey haired man said

"Damn you're hot"- the untoned blonde says as Iwaizumi turns, staring daggers at him

"I'm Hinata and this is Atsumu! I'm a wing spiker and hes our setter!"- the red headed man says joyfully

"And this is Bokuto, he's a wing-spiker as well"- Iwaizumi says, smacking Bokuto's back

Meanwhile Bokuto is still just standing there, mouth agape 😳😲

"It's very nice to meet you! Again I'm sorry for running into you, it was very nice meeting you all!"- You said, sliding past them and waving a little

Bokuto is still staring 😳

Literally, everyone starts walking away and Bokuto just stands there 🧍‍♂️ 😳

"Oh my god, come on ya idiot!"- Atsumu says finally dragging Bokuto the other way as you laugh a little

You head back to the waiting room just as your name is called

You interview, thanking everyone as you head out to leave

Suddenly Iwaizumi appears next to you

"How did it go?"- He asks as you stare up at him

"Umm I think it went well? I mean I have some experience. I use to play volleyball in high-school and college"- you say as Iwaizumi nodds

He opens up Kuroo's door, the Kuroo you just interviewed with and says "Kuroo we found our manager no need to do more interviews!"

"Thank God! I'm exhausted"- Kuroo says as you just stand there 🧍‍♀️

"Ummm what?"- You say looking at Iwaizumi 👁👄👁

"You will be a perfect fit YN, now come on let's go meet the team"- he says as you still stand there

Sir, YN is in shock you must help them

Iwaizumi 👉🏻🙄 come on YN let's go

And thats the story of how you ended up managing our precious Tean Japan 🥰

Wait, did I say precious? I meant demonic 🙃

Because YN, this job is not for the faint of heart

Seriously it's like managing a kindergarten classroom with the least cooperative kids

Kageyama and Atsumu are constantly fighting over who gets to be the starting setter 🙄

Sakusa always has a complaint

Yaku and Komori are always rolling around on the floor

Hinata and Hoshiumi have a daily battle of "who can jump the highest"

Hakuba and Hyakuzawa are constantly teasing Hinata and Hoshiumi

Aran and Iwaizumi are stressed

Ushijima literally has said hardly two words to you

And most of all, Bokuto has been hanging on you since day one 😅

Literally this man has clung to you like glue YN

The first day of practice, he dragged you everywhere just to show you around

Then you watched him shoot liners and cross court shots for what seemed like hours

"Bokuto you are so amazing! Those are some wicked hard shots to pull off!"- You, praising our owl angel 😇

Please Bokuto is already smitten with you YN lay off 😅

Literally this man is already in love with you YN and you've barely started working as the team's manager

Everyday, he runs up to you and greets you with a big hug 🥰

"Yeah! I want you to teach me that wicked cut shot you did last week!"- Hinata

Bokuto 👉🏻☹️🥺 ok 😔

Now, you've gotten a little use to Bokutos Emo modes, having seen one happen the week prior

However seeing Bokuto sad still hurt your feelings

"Come on YN! Let's go!"- Atsumu and Kageyama yell

"I'll be right there!"- You say running up to Bokuto, who is now standing in the center of the gym deflated

You literally run to him, and give him the biggest hug ever 🫂

You 👉🏻🥰 🫂

Bokuto 👉🏻☹️😐😳🥺 🫂

"I can help you with individual practice tonight Kotaro. How about that?"- You

Bokuto 👉🏻😳🤯 YN said my name 💀

"HEY HEY HEY!"- he shouts as he spins you around, you laugh and hug him back

Please Yn the team is so thankful for you

But honestly, you had no idea Bokutos love of you extended beyond that of friendship

The entire team could see it but you must have been completely clueless YN 😅

You actually become a topic in the locker room after practice 👀

"Bokuto! You need to stop hogging YN all the time!"- Atsumu yells

"I can't help that YN loves me more than they love you"- Bokuto 💅🏼

"No Bokuto, you just have a huge crush on YN and you only want them to help you"- Sakusa

The next few weeks continue, much like they normally do

Bokuto occupies 99.99997% of your time in and out of practice

He's taken to making sure you get home ok, having coffee dates and even having dinner

However it's one night when you have a movie date that you "accidently" fall asleep on Bokuto

Please YN, he's dying 😫

He's taking all the pictures and sending them to everyone he knows

Team Japan ✔️ Akaashi ✔️ his doctor ✔️ some random person he barely knows ✔️ ✔️

Bokuto is so in love YN 🥰

And what he doesn't know is that you are falling for him too 😍

That's right, as annoying as he might be, he's freaking adorable and WE LOVE HIM!

However you don't know how to tell a giant owl man you care for him

Like you don't know his reaction so it could go one of a few ways

1) he could literally just due on the spot

2) he could scream

3) he would cry

4) he would break you and/or himself

Literally the possibilities are endless

However it's a good thing you don't have to worry about confessing 👀

At a press even for the olympics, you are busy running around trying to keep all the boys on schedule

Thankfully Bokuto is busy with an interview right now so it's giving you time to catch up

The Eye of the Storm - part 1

My work for the KaiShinShi week by @kuroko99

Summary: Shiho and Shinichi attend a KID heist. Shinichi loves the challenge, Shiho is there for research purposes and Kaito just enjoys messing with people.

As a detective, Shinichi was naturally interested in a wide variety of subjects. After all, you never know what kind of knowledge you’re going to need to solve a particularly though case. His greatest idol – Sherlock Holmes – was infamous for not knowing the earth revolved around the sun. Shinichi refused to have this kind of gaps in his knowledge, so he educated himself nearly in every subject.

Shinichi’s obvious main interests were crime and crime fighting techniques. He knew all about human body’s anatomy, weapons, and poisons which made him interested in botany, which even led to the language of flowers!

In his down time, he played football and followed latest sports events. He loved cars, especially the classic ones. He couldn’t sing but he had perfect pitch and was learning to play violin.

Still, it came as a great surprise to nearly everyone when after his great comeback, he showed an interest in Kaitou KID heists.

Even before his disappearance, Shinichi has been famous for his expertise in murder cases. In his absence from the crime fighting scene of Beika, he managed to almost single-handedly take down an entire crime syndicate! [He had help from FBI, CIA and secret police, but those organizations didn’t want to have people know they were so involved in Japan’s business, so most of the credit fell on Shinichi.] He never showed any interest in theft!

But there were people who knew better, like Shiho or Ran who were involved in most of his adventures as Conan and saw the glint in his eyes whenever the nefarious international thief sent a heist notice.

Besides, Kaitou KID was not only a thief – first and foremost he was a magician. And detectives, once you think about it, need to know a lot about stage magic to be good at their job. What is reading people’s behaviour if not mentalism? Closed room cases use tricks magicians often use to make their grand escapes. Not to mention how often criminals use palming or misdirection to hide evidence. Of course, Shinichi needed to have knowledge on magic! And who is better to study, to learn from, than the world’s greatest magician?

So yes, KID’s heists were Shinichi’s special hobby – sue him! Even great detectives were allowed to have some fun!

Besides, he had a score to settle.

Standing in the main entrance door to the art museum, multiple police officers milling around mixed with KID’s special task force, Shinichi could taste to excitement filling the air. His own bones seemed to buzz as a nearly gleeful smile crept on his face.

It was the first KID heist in months! First once since Shinichi got his body back. First one since they defeated the organization. KID helped back then too. Probably more than Shinichi and the agents involved were made aware – some information seemed to fall into their hand way too easily.

Shinichi had not been worried about KID – he knew the thief could take care of himself. Still, it was a relief to see the heist note delivered to his doorstep.

Shinichi could see Hakuba conversing with Nakamori, probably going over security points and discussing KID’s possible route of entrance and escape. Other officers were guarding doors and windows with a large number of them around the exhibit with the emerald KID was going to steal. The emerald, called The Eye of the Storm, was resting peacefully on its place in the centre of the main exhibit hall. Nakamori and his crew learned by now that hiding the prize from the thief only made them look worse in the eyes of the public and, more importantly, it never worked.

There was a legend surrounding the emerald, because of course there was. Shinichi knew KID has been looking for something specific this whole time and the gems he stole always had complicated history. And heists always took place on or around full moon nights. Like tonight.

Shinichi crossed the entrance hall and headed towards the exhibition. He was allowed near the emerald only after showing his badge of junior inspector and after a compulsory check if he had a mask on his face. After all he could have been KID in disguise.

He wasn’t.

Obviously.

The emerald looked inconspicuous but, honestly, all gems seemed the same in Shinichi’s eyes. Maybe he should take up gemstone appraisal as his newest hobby to fully appreciate them and their value.

He wasn’t standing there long when another person joined him.

“Looks beautiful, doesn’t it?” Shiho asked, leaning over the pedestal.

“It looks like an average emerald necklace,” Shinichi replied to which Shiho rolled her eyes.

“Of course, you would say that. Look at that unique cut of the stone, at the beautiful artwork of the necklace itself – the delicate stars that hold the gem in its place. And this was made centuries ago before the jewellery makers had all the tools they use today. No wonder it’s worth millions.”

“It’s just a necklace,” Shinichi muttered very, very quietly.

He could never understand the value some people put into accessorizing.

“We better get ready, the heist is going to start in five minutes,” he said louder.

“So, how are you going to catch him?” Shiho asked.

Shinichi shrugged his shoulders.

“I’m not,” he said. Seeing her supersized expression, he explained. “Don’t get me wrong. I want to catch him. I have about a dozen plans on how to do that tonight but…” he hesitated. Would she understand? Of course, she would, it was Shiho. “He’s looking for something. And, at this point I feel pretty confident to say that I know KID. He wouldn’t be doing this without a reason. A very good reason. Maybe… we should just let him?”

Shiho still looked at him sceptically.

“And you’re alright just letting him go? A thief. Stealing a gem? A criminal?”

“I…” Shinichi hesitated. Now that she put it that way… “Okay, no, screw this. I’m going catch him! Or at least try to. He’s very clever, too clever for his own good. But I’m not going to make it easy for him. You just watch me!”

Shiho just smiled.

“That’s the Shinichi I know. Have fun.”

Shinichi smiled back. “I will!” And with that he run off towards Nakamori and Hakuba, leaving Shiho behind.

Hello, it's me! I wanted to ask about Lisa van Zieks. Could you tell me what her life was like before meeting Barok? Her family background and such. And I would love to know her personality, if you'd like to share that!

Well she is just a minor character so I don’t have a huge backstory.

She’s based off two characters I rather like from the Castlevania games. Lisa Tepes (the wife of Dracula) and Mina Hakuba (the love interest of Soma Cruz, Mina is based off of Mina Harker from Bram Stroker’s Dracula)

I thought it would be a fitting name for my OC since everyone makes Barok is Dracula jokes and Castlevania jokes and I quite enjoy the Castlevania games.

Her name was Lisa Harker before marrying Barok (my reference is obvious to the above I explained already).

Lisa is from an affluent aristocratic family in London, the Harker clan. Rumors even say her ancestors were vampire and monster slayers (another funny little reference I do to the Castlevania games, a little wink at the Belmont clan).

Lisa is very kind and patient. But she does have a teasing nature.

She was arranged to be married to Barok, to tie the two aristocratic families together. She was fine with this match as Barok was always a gentleman. Granted things became rough when his brother died. But Lisa remained ever kind and patient and gentle through it all. She didn’t make the pain go away, but at least gave him some comfort.

They did grow to fall in love gradually during their marriage. In my upcoming story they already have a young son named Adrian van Zieks (he’s like 3 and he’s based off Alucard, the son of Dracula and Lisa in the Castlevania games). They will have a second son born also not long after Ryunosuke left back for Japan that Ryunosuke will get to meet in this story.

This second son is named Drake van Zieks. Drake is a twofer little reference. First one of the meanings of the name of Dracula is Dragon, which Drake means Dragon. The other is in the meaning Dragon. Which the Ryu in Ryunosuke means dragon. Yes… in a roundabout way Barok is naming his son after Ryunosuke because how grateful he was for him and respects him. But don’t you dare ever get him to admit that lol.

Lisa and Dracula will go on to have a third child not long after Drake. A daughter, and her name will be Miriam van Zieks. She is loosely based on the protagonist of Bloodstained, an indie game that is a spiritual successor to Castlevania, and was even made by Iga, the brains behind Castlevania.

Routine, he knew, was a perfect was to ensure that your enemies would know where you were. Had he not, then perhaps he wouldn’t be in this exact situation, looking for an effective escape route for himself and Kuroba without trying to let the other know of the danger. He took the other’s hand. “I think it would be best if we left at this point, Kuroba.”

hakuba’s been tense for a while , kaito notes , looking at the other from the corner of his eyes. they’re sitting inside a cafe due to having to work on a project together for the fifth time this week , and while hakuba can be withdrawn , he’s never quite this ... again , tense , for the lack of a better word. it’s why it comes as a surprise that hakuba , of all people , reaches out and grabs his hand.

there’s a minute shift as kaito almost flinches from the surprise gesture , but his hand settles inside of hakuba’s hand regardless. he’s unsure if this was a way for them to stick together , or if looking as if they were together is going to help with whatever has got hakuba all messed up , but he’s not going to let go. he allows a little bit of kid’s focus to come out , inconspicuously glancing around them to see if hakuba’s noticed something he hadn’t.

... there was a pair of people who had walked in a few minutes ago that kaito hadn’t given a second glance to , obvious tourists. but , now that kaito was looking , the way they held themselves wasn’t quite normal , and the way the woman was gripping the camera didn’t make it feel like a camera. plus , he’s pretty sure they were hiding weapons on themselves.

‘ i think so too , ’ kaito says. judging by the fact that hakuba noticed something wrong first , ( maybe recognised the “ couple ” ? ) kaito has a feeling this might have nothing to do with him ( for once ). ‘ front door or bathroom ? ’ that might conveniently have a window that both of them could fit through that could give them easy access to a back alley or a roof. ( okay , so kaito highly vets any place that he goes to for escape routes. there’s a reason why he’s not dead or captured yet ).
