“You seem… okay.”

You looked at Meredith who was staring at you with a concerned expression. You shrugged, spitting the toothpaste from your mouth into the sink.

“Why wouldn’t I be?” You asked, grabbing a towel and wiping your face from any minty residue.

Meredith narrowed her eyes on you. “Well,” she said, entering the bathroom fully. “Avery dumped you.”

Your heart sank at the mention of him. You shook your head, forcing a smile. “So? It’s not the end of the world. He’s literally just a guy and I dumped him.”

Alex entered the bathroom, pushing past you to get to the sink. You locked eyes in the mirror and he shook his head.

“Pretty boy was not just a guy,” he grumbled, grabbing his razor. “He was like your person or twin or whatever it was you called him.”

Meredith hummed in agreement, sitting on the toilet with her eyes fixed on you. “He wasn’t just a guy, he was your guy.”

You sighed, running a hand through your hair. Your stomach twisting like a wet rag at the topic of conversation. It had been two weeks since Jackson decided to end things after months and months of the stupid will they, won’t they dance. It wasn’t even a viable reason, he needed to focus on plastics and you needed to focus on cardio. It wasn’t you, it was him. After the boards things were going to be different.

Blah blah blah.

“I’m fine,” you said in a failed attempt to convince both of them and maybe even yourself.

Because you were the complete opposite of fine. You were completely ruined. They were right. Jackson wasn’t just a guy, he was the love of your life. Your best friend and one random fight escalated to the point where you turned back to strangers.

Derek popped his head in the bathroom, catching your eye with a sympathetic smile. “Hey,” he said softly. “You okay?”

“I’m fine!” you exclaimed, pushing past him to get to your room. “Perfectly, fine.”

“You gotta fake it, till you make it,” Arizona said as she masterfully dissected a burst appendix. “Break ups suck. The important thing is though that you win, you have higher ground.”

You had the faking part down, now making it? That’s a whole different story.

“I’m fine,” you repeated, your eyes on the cavity in front of you. That seemed to be your new phrase lately, it had variations but fine was becoming your old faithful.

For some reason, you decided to look up at the gallery. Your eyes meet green ones. So green yet so blue at the same time. Like a watercolor painting of a beach paradise. You swallowed the lump that blocked your throat. Knowing the intercom was turned on by the red light, you decided to prove it once and for all.

“I actually have a date,” you lied, your eyes darting back to Arizona’s hand as she finished sewing up the kid.

She looked up at the gallery with wide eyes before landing her eyes on you. “A date? With who?”

“Um…” you racked your brain trying to come up with a convincing answer, your eyes briefly meeting Jackson’s. “A lawyer…yeah.”

Arizona dropped the subject when the monitor started beeping wildly, the attention shifting towards the patient. You look up at the gallery again. He was gone.

You’re fine.

“He said he’d loved me all his life,” you sobbed one into your arm one night at Joe’s. Lexie rubbed your back sympathetically. “He lied.”

She sighed, passing you another napkin. “You are going to be just fine,” she said, taking your drink away. “No more tequila for you though.”

You shook your head, wiping the tears from your cheeks. “I’m fine,” you said, forcing a smile. “I can handle this, this is nothing.”

“It’s kind of ironic,” Alex said one day, watching you repair an aortic aneurysm in the gallery. “She wants to fix hearts for a living but can’t get her own shit together.”

Cristina mumbled an agreement, her eyes focused on the surgery. April shook her head, feeling sad for her friend.

Meredith shrugged. “She says she’s fine,” she said, taking a bite of her apple. “If that was me, I would’ve drowned myself in the bathtub by now.”

Cristina raised an eyebrow, turning back to look at her. “That was you and you did almost drowned.”

“She’s on the verge of a mental breakdown,” Lexie said, her eyes focused on a medical journal. “It’s a matter of time.”

“Avery is a dumbass,” Alex stated, earning a chorus of agreement from the rest of the residents.

All of them were blissfully unaware that Jackson was standing at the entrance of the library. His eyes focused on you as you performed your magic. The way you laughed as you bantered with Altman. His heart sank.

He really was a dumbass for letting you go.

You sat in the gallery with the rest of the group, your eyes focused on the surgery below. You mentally took notes. You hadn’t slept in days, food would not stay down no matter how much you tried.

The anxiety ate away at you constantly. The emptiness follows you everywhere you go. The hospital became your home as you dreaded going to bed alone.

Jackson entered the gallery, causing the hairs on the back of your neck to stand up. You still couldn’t be in the same room as him, no matter how cool you tried to play it. With a curt nod, you stood up.

As the tension mounted within you, a sudden wave of dizziness washed over, causing you to sway slightly in your place at the gallery. Cristina, noticing your unsteadiness, reached out a hand to steady you.

"Hey, you okay?" she asked, concern etched in her voice.

You forced a smile, nodding weakly. "Yeah, just a little tired," you replied, though the lie tasted bitter on your tongue.

Lexie glanced up, furrowing her brow at your demeanor. "Are you sure?" she remarked, her voice tinged with worry.

Before you could respond, Meredith interjected, concern evident in her eyes as she set her half-eaten apple aside. "Maybe you should take a break, get some fresh air," she suggested, her tone gentle yet firm.

“I just need to leave,” you whispered, hurrying out of the cramped room.

You’re fine.

“Hey.”

You looked up from your study notes. Jackson stood in front of you, shifting from one leg to the other. His hand gripping the strap of his backpack tightly.

Your heart was pounding. “Yeah?” You cautiously asked, closing your notebook.

“I just wanted to check in on you,” he admitted, taking a step closer. “You looked rough in the gallery earlier.”

Your heart skipped a beat at his words, a mixture of emotions swirling within you. Anger, hurt, longing—each fighting for dominance as you struggled to maintain your composure.

"I'm fine," you replied, the words coming out more sharply than you intended. "Just a rough day."

Jackson's expression softened, his eyes searching yours for a hint of the turmoil raging within. "You know you can talk to me, right?" he said softly, his voice filled with genuine concern. “I know you. I know you haven’t been eating or sleeping. Meredith told me you barely go home nowadays.”

A bitter laugh escaped your lips, surprising even yourself. "Talk?" you scoffed, the words dripping with sarcasm. "About what, exactly? How you broke my heart?"

His eyes widened, a pained expression crossing his features. "I never meant to hurt you," he said, his voice barely above a whisper. "I thought I was doing what was best for both of us."

"Best for both of us?" you repeated, incredulous. "How is dumping me, without a single good explanation, the best for me?"

Tears welled up in your eyes, threatening to spill over. You blinked them back, refusing to let him see your pain. "You don't get to waltz back into my life and act like everything's okay," you said, your voice trembling with emotion. "I'm not your consolation prize, Jackson."

He reached out a hand, as if to touch you, but you flinched away, the pain of his betrayal still too fresh. "I'm sorry," he whispered, his voice breaking. "I never meant to hurt you. I just... I thought it would be easier this way."

"Easier for who?" you shot back, your anger simmering just below the surface. "Not for me, that's for sure."

With a heavy sigh, Jackson took a step back, his shoulders slumping in defeat. "Fine. I'll leave you alone," he said, his voice filled with resignation. "But just know that I'm here if you ever need me."

As he turned to walk away, you felt a pang of regret, a part of you longing for the comfort of his presence. But you pushed it aside, steeling yourself against the pain. You had survived his absence once; you could do it again.

You’re good. You can do it with a broken heart.

hello my pile 1 people <3 You guys are surely very earthy but inside you there is fiery passion. You are stable and secure or at least that’s what you’re working towards. You are independant and quite resourceful. You value material things and it’s also something you need to feel emotionally better. You like to be generous to other people and provide for others. But for that you need to be in a stable position, right? Also, I’m sure you dislike sudden or unexpected things - it might trigger you in some way. You are maybe the type who takes a bit longer to finish certain things because you wanna make sure that everythings is done correctly and ‘perfectly’. And ofc it’s ok to not hurry yourself especially on this manifestation journey but don't let your need for control get too you head. I feel like your surroundings might be a little chaotic, so try to create your own calm place in the center of this chaotic energy. It also seems like you are a fair and just person who likes to protect others and yourself. Your energy is very expanding and I also think you’ve been quite lucky in your life even though you might not see it that way. Often, you want to understand the bigger picture of life and that’s also why you might be into spirituality and have great faith. Surely, you've been hurt and betrayed in the past and even though you just wanna escape all of it as fast as possible you gotta realize that you or rather your higher self/consciousness chosed all these situations to help you grow and transform and for you to realize who you are and what you really need and want in your life. You’ve been prepared to make the decision for what kind of life you really want and what kind of person you really want to be. If you still have ‘childhood trauma’ (even if it seems small to you), you should think about where it stems from and how you can let go of it. Of course it won’t be easy but let me tell you YOU ARE STRONG ENOUGH! Don’t let other people and their past deeds hold you back. You don’t need that! You are so powerful! Don’t overthink things. You tend to doubt your skills and power. Please don’t do that - You are a queen/king! All this overthinking, these doubts and the old patterns from your childhood hold you back. It makes your mind infertile! I want you to put yourself on top of everything, you are your own main priority. Please nourish yourself! A healthy mind and body will help you. You might have already heard that before but try to ignore the 3D if it’s as shitty as it feels! Don’t mind it! You should make yourself feel loved and proud - that is important! Trust yourself and in your power! Everything will work out perfectly! Just stay committed to what you want and what you definitely deserve !! You’re being called upon to claim your personal power! Feel confident about yourself and this journey! Your angels/guides/spirits (whatever you believe in) will give you strength to say no when it’s the right thing to do for yourself. On a side note, your struggle may actually stem from an unresolved inner conflict, rather than a conflict with others. So, try to resolve this. Work on your mindset - like tell yourself how much you value yourself with all your quirks etc. and that you deserve everything - guilt has no place here! Your past is over - you’ve learned from it - so it’s done. Close this chapter. Your new journey/life can begin now - so claim your power! hello my pile 2 people <3 You guys - let me tell you - are beautiful inside out !! You are the type who often undergoes great change and transformation. You seem very versatile. Tho it’s totally fine to let solid friends and activities (you enjoy) support you during those times. There is some inner resistance - you are blocking the peace and the fulfillment that you yearn for, and yet it seems like you feel like you must deny yourself. Please do not think like that! hello pile three :D You seem like the type who has lots of responsibilities going on. But you also demand respect. I think that’s important to you. You are protective especially of your close family/friends. You might also be quite humanitarian and might like helping people through teaching or advising them/sharing your knowledge and experiences. You are really reliable. You have a brave and almost fearless side to you. It might be hard for you when people close to you don’t share the same opinion or values as you - especially when it’s about something that is really important to you. Why are you abusing your own body? :( Don’t put anything in your body that is not worthy of your god/goddess status!! Quality over quantity is the key at this time - awaken to your sacred self. Meditating and listening to ‘god state’ subliminals might help you as well as lots of selfcare! Also, you should be selective about who you let into your space. Ask yourself what is and what isn’t worthy of yourself. You deserve being treated in an honorable and respectful way not just by others but by yourself too. Furthermore, you seem to overthink things too much. I got the message “Friction and resistance in the circuits of your brain have now confused you into thinking the pain and tension is in the world around you when, really, it’s all in your head.” That was a clear message lmao. Free yourself from other people's opinions and take this time to be quiet and to reflect.The only thing standing in your way is you. The light of a busy mind can be beautiful, but in order to reveal its best achievements, times of darkness and rest are essential. Let go of your worries and fears for a while and let the world/your reality balance itself around you.Your inside is infinite, and your physical form is the gateway. I think traveling or creating art might lift your mood in those times. Also, I think your mood changes quite often and randomly. I feel like you struggle with being authentic. You might avoid having to deal with your darker side and your subconscious issues- I feel like you try to ignore them or just avoid facing them. Take some time out, make yourself comfortable and have some deep talk with yourself OR just be in silence with yourself and let your thoughts flow and observe them if talking to yourself is too hard for you. Or you could write it all down, burn it (please stay safe lol) and affirm you new beliefs - especially regarding your void concept. I feel like that might help you alot. Also, it seems like you may have recently experienced a crushing failure or betrayal/back-stabbing that brought you to your knees. However, you should be mindful of not making yourself into a martyr because of it. Release any kind of victim mindset. Just know that you might have hit rock bottom - but from here on out there’s nowhere else to go but up. I can tell you from the messages I got for you that even though it feels like a waiting game for you at this time, opportunities/manifestations are lining up around you. I want you to merge with the flow of life, trust it in all its light and dark times on your journey. They have brought you to this point. Maybe unbeknownst to you, you are perfectly ready for this - trust your efforts and recognise the signs of serendipity occuring around you. You are where you are meant to be, doing what you are meant to be doing. You are growing in abundance and opportunity - you awakened fresh potential. Your circumstances (energetically) seem to be really good at this time! Use this chance no matter what! The planning period is over, it’s time to put your plans into action. Open the doors of opportunity to broaden your scope. Start thinking long term and be ready to embrace change!!

A/N - G’day guys, I just wanna start by thanking you for all the likes, reblogs and follows since my last post, I really appreciate it. I hope you like this one too. Beware though, this one is a little longer than usual – I got a little carried away as I had a particular episode in mind that I wanted to rewrite for this situation. The GIF below is a major hint at what we're diving into. Until next week, enjoy!

Meanwhile in Sioux Falls…

“I don’t know what to do, Bobby. I don’t know how to help her feel better when I don’t know how to shut off the pain myself. She’s a shell of herself…I just want to see her smile again. She would’ve been an amazing mother, you know.”

“For a start, you don’t shut it off. You share it. You confide in your girl. Let her confide in you. ‘Cause you’re no better. Sam said it’s like living in a morgue and now I can see for myself what he means. You will both be great parents when the time is right. Neither of you is the type to give up on anything when it comes to helping others, you just need to apply that same passion to yourselves and each other.”

“How?”

“You love her and you let her love you. In the meantime though let’s go see what Jody claims is so urgent.”

They gear up and get into the Impala and drive 20 minutes to a cafe in Hartford, where Jody had said to meet her.

“Howdy boys, thanks for meeting me.”

“Anything for you, Sheriff,” Bobby says as he exits the car.

“Hey, Jody.”

“Hey Dean, glad to see you’re holding up okay. If you and Y/N ever need a home-cooked meal or company be sure to drop in. I’m here for both of you.”

“Thanks, I’ll be sure to let her know when I get home. So, what’s the case?”

“This is a small town. Only crime to speak of being the occasional cow tipping. Then last week...four people go missing.”

“All right, so, what makes you think this is our kind of weird?” Dean asks

“I've got a witness who says he saw someone lift an S.U.V. to nab a girl last night. Now, normally, if somebody would tell me that one guy lifted an S.U.V., I'd tell him to take a flying leap, but after what I've seen…”

“Nothing's impossible,” Bobby says.

“Uh-huh.”

“And this matches up with the other missing how?” Dean asks.

“Well, four abductions, strong evidence left at every scene -- literally,” Jody says as she pulls out a folder full of photos and case reports and spreads them out on the table between them.

“So, the first vic was a pastor?” Bobby confirms.

“Yeah. The door of his study was punched in. And then, the next two…an engaged couple.”

“Locked bedroom window was ripped open,” Dean reads out.

“Mm-hmm. And then we have our waitress here with the topsy-turvy ride.”

“Any other connection among them?” Bobby asks.

“Yeah. They were all members of Good Faith church here. My, uh, my church group back in Sioux Falls was in a tizzy over it.”

Dean gives her an inquisitive look and says, “I didn't peg you for churchy.”

“Yeah. You know… all this stuff I’ve seen recently kind of makes a higher power seem relevant.”

“Okay, so, we have, uh, missing church folk and super strength. Maybe angels harvesting vessels? Could be a Buddy Boyle type thing,” Bobby says.

“Wh-- angels? You're joking.”

“Don't get your pants on fire. They suck,” Dean says, “you said there was a witness?”

“Yeah, well...more or less.”

“We’ll be needing to meet him,” Bobby states.

Jody scribbles an address down on a napkin and slides it across the table to Bobby, “This is where you’ll find him. Not sure how reliable he’ll be. Anyway, I’ve gotta get back to work. Good luck, and keep me updated,” she says as she gets up and makes her way out of the cafe.

Dean and Bobby tidy up the files and head back out to the Impala and drive to the address Jody gave them. They walk up to an alley filled with makeshift tents and trolleys full. They walk around the back of a restaurant and find a messy-looking man sitting on the ground leaning against the brick wall. They clear their throat and flash their fake FBI badges at him.

Dean takes a seat on the couch the man led them to and says, “So, tell us about this missing girl you reported.”

“Honor. Her name was Honor. Nice girl. Always left me meatloaf.”

“Why don't you tell us what you saw that night?” Dean says.

“I heard a big noise, got woke, and there's somebody over there lifting a car up.”

“And did you happen to see who it was?” Dean asks.

“I was too far. But I saw a light go off.”

“A white light?” Bobby asks

“Blue. Blue like fire. But not. Then she was…she wasn't there.”

“Could you think of anything else?” Bobby asks.

“No.”

“Okay. Well...thank you for your time,” they both say as they stand up and see themselves out.

As they get into the Impala Bobby says, “Okay. So, no white light.”

“No angel. So Jody said that they were all part of the same church?”

“Yeah.”

“Ready to get your worship on?” With that, Dean pulls out into the street and speeds off towards Good Faith Church in the centre of town. He pulls into a park in front of the large religious building. They take in the multicoloured stained glass windows showcasing stories of the bible as they walk through the heavy wooden doors. A short lady with shoulder-length blonde hair welcomes them.

“Welcome to Good Faith Church, I haven’t seen you at our services. Are you new to town?”

“Something like that,” Bobby says as he shakes her hand.

“Well then, can I interest you in a tour?”

“Sure,” Dean says with a nod.

They follow her around the halls of the chapel and listen as she tells them stories of their faith. At the end of the tour, she leads them into an office and offers them to take a seat. “We hope you enjoyed the tour. Any questions before we get you boys registered?”

“Uh, yeah, look, Ms Futchko,” Bobby says.

“Oh, please... Bonnie will do just fine.”

“Bonnie. Okay, we...love the church. We do. But...Well, we've heard that a few members have gone missing, and, to be honest...that kind of scares us.”

“Let me assure you, with our increased security, Good Faith has never been safer. And those people who have gone missing, well, they are front and centre in our prayers.”

“What a relief. Now, you must have been, uh, close to them,” Dean cuts in.

“Well, we do share the A.P.U. bond.”

“The A.P.U.?” Dean asks.

“Our chastity group...‘Abstinence Purifies Us.’”

“Oh. W-wow. You mind if we sit in on that, maybe see if it's for us?” Bobby asks.

“I'm afraid it's members only. I'm sorry, but it can get pretty personal.”

“Then count us in,” Bobby says.

“Well. I'll be a squirrel in a skirt. I'll be back in a jiff with the papers.” Bonnie walks out of the office to collect the papers, leaving Dean and Bobby sitting alone.

“A chastity group?” Dean asks.

“Dean, listen, if all the members were in A.P.U., then maybe whatever took them is stalking virgins.”

“And that Slim guy said he thought he saw fire. So, what are you thinking, dragons?”

Bonnie returns with two clipboards interrupting them. “All righty. You can just sign there, and your purification can begin.”

“Purity pledge?” Bobby reads out.

“It's a commitment to your virginity.”

“I don't think we can really un-ring that bell. You know what I mean?” Dean states with a smirk.

“Oh. I see. Well... If you just ask for God's forgiveness for your sins and make a new vow of chastity, well, then, you'll be born again as a virgin in his eyes.”

“So, you just hit the "virginity do-over" button, and all is good with the man upstairs?” Dean asks.

“It's not a button. And...this isn't just a piece of paper. I mean, this is your clean slate, your chance to be a virgin until marriage.”

“You know what, I’ve had my shot. Been married and all that, so I’m out. But you’re recently engaged, might be the perfect time for you. Sure your girl would be thrilled with the prospect of a pure white wedding,” Bobby says handing back the clipboard unsigned.

“Well, you had me at clean slate. Let's do this,” Dean says as he signs his name and hands back the clipboard.

“Congratulations, Dean Winchester. You are now a virgin.”

Dean gives her a tight smile and glances at Bobby. Bonnie takes the clipboards and leaves to start setting up the session.

“You think Y/N will forgive me for this?”

“Depends…you planning on honouring your pledge?”

“As you said, it might be just what we need right now. Gives me more incentive to get her in that white dress already. Clean slate, new plan, the start of a happy future for us.”

“Alright. Well, you go get pure. I’m gonna hit the library.”

Dean hands Bobby the keys to the Impala and makes his way to the room Bonnie had shown them earlier where the meetings are held. When he enters the room he sees a group of women setting up folding chairs in a circle and laying out trays of food and coolers on a couple of folding tables along one wall. He helps set up the chairs before they all take a seat.

One of the ladies claps her hands and looks around the circle smiling. “Good afternoon, everyone. I'm Suzy. I thought we'd begin with a silent prayer for our missing friends.”

Everyone closes their eyes in a silent prayer except for Dean who is still watching everyone. After a moment he joins in and ducks his head quietly.

“Amen. Now, does anyone have anything that they would like to share?” Suzy asks. “Why don't we hear from our new friend? Dean, what brought you here to reclaim your virginity?”

“Uh, hard to say, exactly. Yeah. Sex has always felt, I don't know, good, you know? I mean, really, really good. But, uh...Sometimes, it just makes you feel bad, you know? But, you know, when you get down to it, what's the big deal, right? I mean, sure, there's the touching and the feeling all of each other, my hands everywhere, tracing every inch of her body, the two of us moving together, pressing and pulling...Grinding. Then you hit that sweet spot, and everything just builds and builds and builds until it all just...Yeah. Uh...But the whole thing was just a little too, uh...sticky. So, uh, I got my V card back. The end.”

The meeting continues with an air of discomfort after Dean’s confession. Dean watches everyone intently for the rest of the meeting. Once it’s over he helps tidy up the chairs and create small talk with some of the ladies to search for leads.

He makes his way over to the leader, Suzy and says, “Hey, Suzy right? Great meeting. But I uh, I gotta say you look so familiar.”

“Yeah, I-I'm pretty sure we've never met, Dean.”

“Alright.”

“Wait, you're new in town, right?”

“Uh, yeah. New to town. New to this whole chastity thing.”

“Well, I provide individual counselling. If you ever need to talk.”

“So, everybody in the group, they dish to you?”

“They confide. Abstinence is – it's really rough without support and education. Hey, you know what? I have some great books on the vow that really helped me. I-I live close. I'll just go grab them.”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. With a, uh, with a kidnapper on the loose?”

“No, I'll be fine.”

“Tell you what, why don't I walk with you just to be safe, okay?”

“Alright, if you insist.”

They walk side-by-side back to her apartment. When she opens the door for them she says, “Make yourself comfortable.”

Dean watches as she takes off her hoodie leaving her just wearing a camisole. She sits down on her couch with her back to Dean. His cell phone rings, but he declines it quickly. He approaches Suzy on the couch and notices that she is crying.

“I can't stop thinking about my friends. I'm so scared for them. Will you pray with me, Dean?”

“Sure.” She takes his hand in her own and bows her head. Dean lightly squeezes her hand and awkwardly bows his head in response.

After a while, she gains her composure and stands up abruptly. “Well, I’ll get you those books. Just give me one minute.”

Dean gives her a soft, awkward smile and stands up. He looks around the room. He sees a drawer slightly cracked open. He opens the drawer wider and in shock pulls out two Casa Erotica DVDs. His phone rings again, and when he sees the caller ID he’s quick to answer.

“Hey, sorry I left without saying anything, I had to come help Bobby with something.”

“I know, it’s fine. I just need to ask you something,” Y/N says over the phone.

“Shoot,” Dean says as he places the DVDs on the cabinet and makes his way into the hall.

“Is there more to our relationship than sex?”

“What makes you ask that?”

“Just tell me the truth, Dean.”

“Of course. You make me feel safe, happy, and hopeful. All feelings I haven’t felt since I was four. You make me want to be a better man. You give me a reason to live and fight harder to get to the other side of this dangerous, messy life we lead. You make me believe there is a way out. I don’t tell you every day, even though I should, but I love you.” He looks back at the door briefly, the images from the DVDs filtering through his mind distracting him. “I just…since you lost the baby…I guess I’ve felt lost. Like maybe there isn’t a way out or a future for us.”

“Dean…don’t say that.”

“You wanted the truth…I knew I never should have got my hopes up. You let me believe and then you let me down, again.”

“Don’t you dare blame me! I wasn’t sure either, and you’re the one that convinced me! You’re the one that told me it would be okay. I know you’re hurting, Dean, but so am I.”

“Hunters just aren’t meant to have relationships or families or futures.”

“Dean, baby, please. That’s not true.”

“Look around, sweetheart, it is.”

When the line goes silent he puts his phone away and goes back into Suzy’s apartment.

The trainee.

Note: this is the first shift from content. I hope you guys like. I kinda threw this together, so it’s short.

Graduating from training was easy enough, but finding a higher power to work under was even harder. She had been searching ever since she graduated from her training, which was more or less 5 hours. Her feet ached and pulsed as the cold concrete ground touched her bare feet, shivers running up her spine. Only being alive for a few days in Heaven made unused to the coldness as she trailed down the endless hallway. She did ask aziraphale, a brief professor of hers in her flight training, if she could possibly be his little apprentice, but he was helping design humans for a new planet, thus being too busy to even train her right now. He did point her in the direction of Heaven's most prized possession, saying they would very much appreciate the help with the creation of Earth;

Raphael, the starmaker.

She just had to find where he worked. Let's see... "follow the light trail to the beam path and you will be able to fly right into the room." aziraphale had explained to the newer angel and then watched as she shuffled away awkwardly. The young angel followed the slater's words carefully and ended up in a light trail that she hoped led to the angel that would accept her assistance.

A wave of a cold and slightly suffocating air smacked her out the beam of light, into a realm of light. She lets out a small whimper, rubbing at her arms. "Raphael!" she called into the empty space, floating around a bit, slightly off balance. The air was thinner and less stable for her to be able to stand on. She took a shaky step, immediately falling. It felt like she was floating, before a hand grabbed her hand in their cold ones. "Gotta use your wings, newbie. There isn't gravity in here." he wore a warm smile as he pulls the angel upwards towards him. "You do know how to use them, right?"

He still wore that warm smile as his cold hands squeezed hers with the intention of reassurance incase the younger angel didn’t know how to produce her wings. Thank the almighty that she did or she might embarrass herself in front of the higher up. She produced her wings, skinnier and smaller then the angel in front of her. "Now, why have you come to visit me in the middle of a workload?" he questioned, his eyes shining brighter then the stars he created. The starmaker was an elder angel, but a kinder one, like aziraphale. He seemed naturally curious and innocent, making him popular among the younger angels. At least, this angel in front of him believed so. She unconsciously messed with the sleeves of the older angel's robe trying to remember why she was here.

"Oh... a job.. I was wondering if I could train under you for experience for my assignments?" her voice was soft and her eyes widen when he gave a quick nod.

"Of course!" he exclaimed, bringing the angel into his side and taking her along. " I do need to show you all the basics, but I would appreciate some help around here!"

So, the younger angel worked under the starmaker, quickly becoming rather close to Raphael. She talked about him all the time with some of her friends. Raphael took her everywhere with him and the trainee followed him like a little pet, obeying his space. She had earned all his respect by the time he disappeared and the galaxy was closed down from any other angel entering it. She remembered being interrogated intensely about her Faith in the Almighty’s great plan and her wings be inspected thoroughly for any impurities. She retained her innocence, worrying for her boss's safety. She was transferred to Aziraphale’s training program, not being promoted with the rest of her friends and having her put under restrictions. The higher ups claimed it was her’s and Heaven's safety, but she has been Aziraphale's trainee for 6,000 years.

She never knew why this happened or where her former boss was currently.

To be honest, it might break the poor angel's heart. Don't cha think?

Honestly with the way the Goethals act in general it could be safe to say most of them go down the line of “Anyone I perceive as lower than me I treat like shit” with a few accepting members like Stolas

But speaking of Stolas, if you feel more comfortable going off of what is canon, then maybe the idea could spin off of him? We know him to be respectful and to have enough pull to get meetings with a Sin so it wouldn’t be too far off to say Ozzy asked Stolas to check out the hotel to sponsor it. Maybe during introductions he only bows to Lucifer, the Sins, and Vox and everyone is confused?

Just spitballing with the other anons idea! Whatever you go with will be amazing regardless!

Also just a small question cause I’m curious of what you have planned but how many prompts are you planning on writing/is in your Que? I have like a shit ton of prompts in my inbox and need filtering advice if you’re willing 😭

I don't mind canon or going off canon. My Alastor and Vox are very ooc after all, but I know the fandom tends to hold Helluva Boss in a higher standard. I never really liked it that much. I've watched it- but I'm Striker. Why does everything gotta be a sex thing? The two season finales were my favourite of Helluva Boss, which ironically included little to no Stolas

I could definitely see Stella and her brother treating the sinners and overlords are faith on their shoes while Stolas and Octavia hold the sins and Vox in higher regard

Ozzie would definitely be pulling the strings to get Stolas to visit the Hazbin Hotel if I go that route.

I like working off of your guy's ideas. It's very fun and helps me world build 🙏

Ahahaha my ask box is also full of different prompts. I have omega-verse, the Vee's joining the battle, and injured Alastor are three I can name off the top of my head (because I'm writing them right now) but I think I have like 10 or 11 in there. One is also a beauty and the beast ay which I'm mulling over

As for how I filter them out- prompts are things I want to be able to enjoy writing. Some of my prompts have been quite large- and while I don't mind the large ones, it gives me a lot less freedom with them because I feel like I have to rewrite a whole story that was just in the my box. I never deleted any, though. I just put them in their in tag just in case I feel like writing them later- but ones I am writing right now/want to write sit in my box so I can shuffle through them. It keeps it organized

I haven't encountered any rude people yet- so I haven't had to reject anyone for demanding things from me (which like I'm always ready for a debate on the internet, I find them funny) and with how nice everyone is, I usually feel bad for denying them. It's way I take so long to deny people. I want to make sure this is actually something I don't plan on writing in the near future

My way to filter out prompts is

- I need creative freedom to write so I don't feel miserable writing. This is one of the main ones. My brain is very hectic and I find myself tapping out if I can't bring my own ideas to the table. It's also why none of my works are exactly like the prompts im given

- I have enough context to write a fic on it

- I would actually enjoy writing it

- it's a world/au I'm aware of or contributed to. Nothing is worse than being handed a fully built universe and being asked to write for it with little to no explanation on how the universe works

- the people are nice to me.

- I know I make a few jokes here and there, but I like to keep in mind that I'm making free work for people. I'm not being paid to do this, and people aren't paying me to write out the prompts. I love writing fanfiction and it's a great hobby, but if you're genuinely just not interested in doing something- you don't have too. Writing it meant to be fun and inspiration is a fickle thing. You don't want to push it too hard or it's going to shove back. I've learnt that the hard way

- bonus way to do it- sometimes people leave comments, and I find them funny, and I get creative with them. I censored a whole chapter of month in rut because someone told me to let the characters swear. I'm also a very petty person

This is just personal, but I keep my prompts 1k-3.5k words just so it's decently sized, but not overly large

One Piece - Episode One

Yo Ho Ho yall (fuck that's cheesy lol) Well the Live Action One Piece came out a few weeks ago and I've only just started to watch it. I love One Piece. I 100% believe that One Piece is Classical Literature and Classical Story Telling. Like it will stand the test of time it is that good. And since I'm in love with the anime and watching the new series, I've decided to give like a mini review of each episode I watch.

Major Spoilers Ahead: I haven't caught up with the anime (like holy shit no I haven't) but I have rewatched the beginning seasons/arcs many many times. So this is honestly might be more of a comparison between the adaptation and the original source material. So I'm going to go over a lot of plot points of, well, everything.

Here we go!

Overview: Episode One follows Monkey D. Luffy on the start of his journey to become the King Of The Pirates on the open ocean. He faces against The Alvida Pirates and takes rescues the Cabin Boy Koby from her iron clutches. There they travel together to a nearby Marine Base to take find a map of the Grand Line, and we get the introduction of Zoro the Pirate Bounty Hunter and Nami the Thief and Catburgler. Shenanigans force the group together where they face off against Marine Captain Axe-Hand Morgan and retrieve the map together. Leaving Koby behind to follow his own dream, the trio sets off on a stolen boat and sails onto the next episode.

Initial Thoughts: I feel like I have to break up my review into so many categories because My God, they cram packed SO many things into this episode. Every minute there's anyone easter egg, another name drop, another scene where I go "Oh! It's That Part from the Anime!" I don't think it's going to be possible for me to look at it strictly on it's own merit, because a lot of what I like about it is going to be colored by the anime. Specifically what they kept, changed, and adapted to fit a live action setting. Because honestly, I'm blown away. They did an insanely good job with this series.

Plot:

I have to start with some of the plot here. Not just the overview I mean like a Deep Dive into how this is a lot of people's first introduction to One Piece.

I like how they have the first scene be the Gol D. Rodgers backstory. His death and final words, as stated in every episode, "drove countless souls to the sea." His legacy is the driving point for the show, so having it at the beginning is a great way to set up the exposition and expectation for the series. This is Pirates. Government vs Pirates. The King Of Pirates Treasure created more Pirates.

I also like how at every Pirate's Introduction we see a wanted poster fly by and cover his face. The bounties are used as a "power level" marker in a way. Higher Bounty = More Dangerous. It's a nice visual cue to show they are key players.

They also kept a lot of the iconic scenes and moments from the anime too. Nami drifting in the boat. Shanks getting beer smashed onto him by the bandits. They actually kept in some manga only moments too: Luffy stabbing himself in the eye for example and the reveal of his Gum Gum Powers. Not shown in the anime. So the Live Action series is faithful to both anime and manga.

Then the show even expands on some moments that were sort of glanced over. It actually shows Zoro being recruited for Baroque Works instead of Zoro mentioning it one that happened off screen. Which was a really cool badass visual to show rather than tell why Zoro is epic. Leave the myth/legacy/stories for Gol D. Rodgers. If the guy is on our crew, we gotta see why he's cool enough to be on the crew.

They also added in a lot of new mashups in here too. It makes since, Episode One covers about the first 5ish episodes of the anime. So you have to smash what you can when you can. Nami never interacted with Luffy or Zoro until the next island. They never were all together in a bar/tavern (which, ha, classic bar meet up). And there were new combinations of how other characters interact with each other. Morgan and Zoro never met prior to Luffy's bullshit. But damn, that was a pretty interesting interaction to just flex on their characters.

Speaking of...

Characters:

I'll get into main cast specifics afterwards, but I have to say that the show is perfect with capturing the essence of each character. No matter what actions they take or how the story changed, the show stayed true to the core of the characters. Luffy's childlike wonder went everywhere he went asking questions about everything. Zoro's sassy to everyone and honorable in battle. Nami self-reliant and sneaky and can handle her own. Morgan's self importance was shown with self-portraits. And this is for Everyone. Even the background mooks and randos. The crowd immediately going to sea as soon as Rodgers gives his Pirate Blessing for his treasure. Nothing is missed. Everything is well, exactly how and why we love these characters.

Luffy, well, I wasn't sure if I could like at first. It's the voice. I have a thing where if I know a character for a while, sometimes I can't vibe with another iteration because I am too invested in the first version. The voice was still high pitch and casual, but it just felt different. Between that and just how calm he was acting I wasn't sure if I liked Luffy. But the more I saw him the more perfect he was. He is happy, go-lucky, a gentle airy voice with a tinge of excitement. Terrible liar, a little bit more clever perhaps but still a well rounded dumbass. He's really the perfect Luffy.

Zoro was a bit of the same way too. I don't know if it was just the monotone but he was a bit like the same with Luffy. But then he opened his mouth and was just as so flipping sassy and snarky. Then we see him fight and kill a man on screen which yeah, he does that. And wow he's still super bad ass. I'm just sort of waiting to see more of his flaws in the next episode, and I'm actually surprised that Zoro had embraced the "Pirate Hunter" moniker when he couldn't give less of a shit is still serious and stoic, can't tell if he's more competent or not just yet.

A little surprise that Zoro wasn't on the crew yet. But I think they changed it so it would feel more like Zoro was willing to join rather than a "choose: join up or you'll get killed"

Nami was also as badass as I hoped. We see her on the job. On the clock. Taking one problem at a time. She would give Lupin a run for his money. Like her scoping out marines in the bar to steal the clothes, that was a brilliant move! A lot better to show the lengths she would go than just tricking some rando pirates. And we get her animosity immediately with Luffy. She really is super clever.

Shanks actually feels more parental here. Like a dedicated dad type. He felt easy going, but more in a mature adult way. He still cared for luffy in the anime don't get me wrong. But Anime Shanks absolutely laughed and teased Luffy. For example: Live Action Shanks was concerned and worried when Luffy showed his devil fruit powers for the first time. Anime Shanks was worried and called Luffy a dumbass for doing a stupid thing like eating random fruit. I get why they wanted him to be a more serious parental figure in the live action, just a bit different.

It actually is interesting because there is a distinctive change with Shanks and Buggy. Shanks as noted above went a cool older cousin to a parental figure. Buggy is cloaked in insanity and danger. He is menacing, which is important. He's the first major main antagonist. But his goofiness has been pulled back a bit and turned into crazy. He's still ruthless but it's more like Joker Crazy instead of just wacky clown. Granted he's only just introduced at the end of the show so there was no time to flesh it out. So we might have more silly wackiness coming our way. But it isn't a bad change.

Setting:

I can't believe how accurate the setting is to One Piece. Like, first they kept all of the weirdo gadgets like the Transponder Snails and those goofy looking seagulls. And yeah the CGI isn't like technically the best or detailed, but it feels like it was pulled straight from the manga.

Speaking of being pulled straight from the manga, the costumes are insane. How long did the costume department just stare into the anime and just bring it to life. Everyone's outfits are colorful, iconic, it perfectly fits the character and their designs. Same with the island, the ships, every location it just felt so real. So vibrant. It just breathes life!

And there's Violence! Honest to god Violence! In One Piece! Oh sure we have fights and battles and deaths in the show and manga. And it isn't shied away from at all. But now there's Blood. There's actual Canon Death. Point Blank from the beginning this is the Pirate Era and they are Ruthless by just killing a man off screen and forcing the wimpy boy to clean the mace. The show is not playing around.

Vibes: It's weird to say but overall, the vibes I got from the Live Action One Piece is the same as a Bollywood Movie. Bollywood is Big, Bombastic. It's silly and exaggerated but open and honest with everything. No matter how crazy or ludicrous it is, it's played straight in the movie. There is no lampshading or "jk" moments. The story is earnest in what it's doing.

That vibe 100% fits perfectly with the One Piece World. EVERYONE is a weirdo! That's the point of how the characters are introduced or treated or act. If they were written as weird, then they are more memorable by the audience. Not only that but everything is played straight no matter how goofy it is. Luffy's Rubber Devil Fruit is a useful power to have! He also can stretch his face and dodge like a 1920s cartoon. It's weird but it works. Mr. 7 and Buggy the Clown are dressed like madmen crazy people. But they are still set up as dangerous. Their villainy is still threatening no matter what the getup is. And it works because the show doesn't make fun of them for it. It isn't trying to wink at the camera and go "Take a look at this clown boy am I right?". We aren't taken out of that immersion of the world to mock the characters regardless of how ridiculous they are.

But importantly, it captures the central themes of One Piece: Adventure, Freedom, Dreams. The show doesn't try to tone down these things, it embellishes it. It is honest with the determination of the cast, their dreams and plans. I keep coming back to the word earnest because it fits so well with One Piece and Bollywood. No matter what happens, they both keep the sincerity of these themes and that's why it works. It is faithful not just in storytelling and plot points, but in spirit too.

Overall I really need to stop gushing over this one episode lol. Because it was just ONE Episode. I still have 7 more to go! What the Shit! This show is just already amazing. It's faithful to the source material. Faithful to the characters, the plot, the story. It puts in future plot points for the live action audience to pick up on that doesn't feel rushed or forced. It's just, a wholesome adventure story when it comes down to it. 100% 10/10 will watch everything

(PART 2) So things I've noted down. RE: The Hawkie-Talkie

Who do you think wants to hear that? Stain maybe?" Strike one for implying the heroes are trying to please the guy culling corrupt heroes instantly making the room go silent. Yeah wouldn't wanna come off that way right, from what it may imply about yourself? I remember you saying the anime added the Stain bit, but it actually was in the manga! Just super tiny light colored text next to Edgeshot.

Everything he said was a direct response to what Ryuku, Crust, and Yoroi Musha said. As for the part where he goes, "Today's a turning point, so what I don't wanna hear-" which is made more obvious in another translation, "they're calling this a critical juncture, so why is it that you people-" which is a direct response to what the HPSC President said, and I just love the call-out. This and that time in 192 is the most we're getting out of him.

"I just hate holding back how I feel." Ironic statement of the century. Is that why 245 Endeavor was all, "A grinning braggart with his heart on his sleeve, that's who I thought you were. At least around me, you were always playing the fool." Oh Endy, I love how Prohero!Arc Persona Hawks was the only guy you ever knew. For the main time at least. It almost sounds like he's questioning if that Hawks was real, but he did think he was real because believing that is what made him think serious!Hawks was off in some way, unlike him. Nothing amuses me more than these two's relationship. Please Hawks, you gotta make people's heads spin more with how rapidly you change multiple games nobody realizes they're playing. I know he's got a thing for foresight, but I don't think this was placing down cards RE: Endeavor's impression of him in case it was needed, but he def wanted to come off a certain way back then, it just seems to have continued to be useful. MVA book too maybe, which I love how only him and Shigaraki take note of it.

"You wanna talk public support? Best Jeanist would be Number One if that was all that mattered thanks to the boost he's gotten during his leave of absence." Strike two for essentially saying 'public support is fickle.' When it's the main thing the hero system runs on, what made vigilantes "heroes" instead of villains, why Endeavor could never beat All Might, the thing heroes love to chase after or take advantage of, that popularity (like Mt. Lady to get out of paying for food, though it's a minor example) that don't matter, none of it.So I always get miffed when people say Hawks cares about popularity when his whole intro was a call-out for it. Lol at how it kinda sounds like a jab too, that Jeanist got pity-voted up the charts.

"Sure...it matters more than anything else now, but c'mon..." Because what did Dabi say? "That loss of faith will spread like wildfire." Sure matters to the HPSC a lot since they're putting up this ceremony, at a time with no All Might, the people desperately need to trust in their heroes. And here they are!! Saying things like, "Yeah um, I have a lot of regrets, wish I could've done more, I don't deserve this ranking, sorry about that." So reassuring you guys. I feel so confident things are going to work out.

"Jeanist would be number one, I'd be second, Edgeshot'd be third, Endeavor forth and so on."

Bringing up Jeanist tells us a few things. Someone who hasn't been doing any work ranked higher than you, he's the most popular hero, knowing that, is that still what you want to focus on? If that was all that mattered, go ahead, go take a break too.

But it isn't all that matters, you have to put in the work. Endeavor has the most solved cases out of any hero, yet a ranking system relying on approval would put him at 4th, so what's more important, the work we put in or the adoration we chase? And that angry glare Endeavor gives at his "new ranking" laying it all out like this could be a subtle way to encourage him to be a bit more likeable, seeing as that's the other reason Hawks was doing all this. A few things going on. 1) Prep Endeavor for the Nomu fight in two days, 2) Give people a new Leader to believe in (not a new All Might, we don't need Symbols) 3) Keep up the Hawks Persona all while doing it to keep your real intentions hidden since nobody thinks deeper about you when you're like that + without putting your mission at risk since Dabi is likely watching 4) That whole speech was improvised on the spot after hearing what everyone else said. He was making faces while thinking of what to say and how to act so people would think that was all he was doing, it's whats shown outwards after all. 5) Slight jab at the HPSC President because why the hell not, what are they gonna do, complain when he gets results later? It's also kinda funny to me that he keeps himself at No.2 when the other thing he says is, "what I don't wanna hear, from the guys and gals below me." it's like he's saying he's the only one out of them who actually deserves his position, popularity and work in balance huh instead of popularity shifting it? "please speak more like real heroes" instead of people-pleasers because the HPSC wants a nice, proper formal event showing how shiny everything is despite calling it a "critical turning point" if that's the case, then why do we still cling to the old ways? funny coming from the guys who sounded sooo regretful about their old ways in the meeting in chapter 95.

"Dude with a lower approval rating than me." Lol, ok forgot about this for a sec, so maybe that "listing everyone's ranking" really was a subtle jab here because he wants Endy to work on being better, and he does it while being so annoying. But Endeavor buys it hook-line-and-sinker. Acts all mature like "after that novice stirred the flames like that" you wanna contrast your personalities as the more reliable adulty-leader huh? A strong and steady guy? Exactly what Hawks wanted, he knows your character. Best make that roughness look reliable since his back isn't broad enough to put the people at ease, and you've never been good at fluffy P.R interviews and talkshows.

I think you have me confused with someone else, I've never said this. When I have analyzed the scene, it's more on how Hawks is shown to be a master manipulator in this scene and as he responds to each hero. Why I don't have an individual meta on it, I'm pretty sure I broke it down years ago in Thyandra's asks as an anon and then deanon-ed rbing it here. But this was like ....October/November 2018. Don't remember if I ever did a more fine-toothed breakdown that didn't focus on how Hawks plays Endeavor like a fiddle.

I think Hawks is both aware of the necessity of public opinion and also fairly inwardly derisive of it. He's a "charismatic" hero, more like All Might than Endeavor in that regard, but he's not a fan of it, it seems. I do think he was very much taking his fellow heroes to task for the absolute milquetoast and apologetic responses they had in front of the cameras.

Anyway, the important thing is he actually set the stage for Endeavor not to fail.

Exactly. His whole goal was to make sure the only thing Endeavor could say after all that 1. had the most impact than anyone else 2. was minimal as possible. No apologies, no excuses, no promises to do better - just watch me. Gruff, to the point, etc - no chance to misconstrue his meaning. The best way to handle Endeavor.

Hook, line, sinker. Hawks played those awards, also came off as maverick for Dabi's purposes, bolstered himself (good for the HPSC), took a few potshots at the old system (where the HPSC can't complain much because he has 'reasons'), told the heroes under him to get their shit together and stop groveling for approval, and also made sure that Endeavor would have a reason to not storm home and approach him (and ofc set a stage up to get his ranking solid because we were told a few times that people were nervous about Enji becoming no. 1).

What are your favorite songs that describe your OCs?

OKAY THIS TOOK A WHILE TO ANSWER CUZ I HAD TO... REALLY THINK ON IT.

And like... I'm gonna do specific OCs and the overall story (that I'm consistently rewriting and all the lore I posted so far is outdated so I gotta DELETE-) rq so uh

First things first! I really do genuinely associate Helvegen and Voluspa by Wardruna with the first three major arcs of the story, essentially the Ragnarök/Norse mythos focused arc and the two introductory arcs leading up to it.

Helvegen translates to Path to Hel, one of the major afterlifes in Norse mythos. While many people interpret it as akin to Hell due to similar naming conventions, but it's much more akin to Asphodel from Greco-Roman mythology! It resembles every day life for mortals and it's where you go if you don't die in battle and go to Fólkvangr or Valhalla. Hel is also where Baldr's soul goes after he is accidentally slain by his twin Hoðr, and where the messenger Hermoðr goes to plead with Hela for Baldr's return.

The song, to me, is about loyalty and accepting one's death, with one of the lyrics being "I will follow you over the Bridge of Gjöll with my song." and another being "You will be free from the binds that bind you/you are free from the binds that bound you."

Other lyrics that stick out to me are; "Day's end or beginning/Only the Raven knows when I'll fall" - it's just MMMMMM. The song also ends with an old poem about death (which was also quoted in GoW:R and when that happened I SCREAMED) and just... AUYUGH.

The third arc of the story is focused on the prophecy of Ragnarök and how Odin and Loki are abusing others to warp the prophecy to their own individual advantages after Fimbulwinter swept through the lands early. Leading up to the eventual reveal in arc 4 regarding the concept of Fate as they know it. Remember when I said the Fates were kind of distant/uninvolved? That's not the case anymore :)) wink wink.

As for the song Voluspa? It's based on the best known poem from the Poetic Edda of the same name (Völuspá) that goes over the creation of the world, its end, and rebirth. So, really, I'm taking someone singing a poem about Norse mythology and applying it to my Norse mythos OCs. But like... the way it's performed gets me emotional, okay? Listen to Wardruna, please. They're a huge comfort band.

OKAY TIME FOR INDIVIDUAL OCS!!!! YIPPEEEEEE!!!!

New Year's Eve by Mal Blum is a Tyr song. I don't know how to explain it but the degrading relationship and emotions described in the song just... goes so well with Tyr's own feelings before his confrontation with Odin and before he and Fenrir disappeared from Asgard and Midgard. Before his disappearance, Tyr often defended his younger brothers from Odin and the other older gods (who were much more jaded than the younger youth), and once he was gone Asgard become a much for unhealthy place as its walls (metaphorical and literal) grew higher and thicker, more suffocating for the gods living there. Especially when Odin, the supposedly all knowing Allfather, began freaking out at, ya know, Fimbulwinter defying Fate. Yk, Fate, prophecy, something that the gods believe is concrete and unwavering. Uh oh.

Hoðr has Fish Inside a Bird Cage for his early life pre-Tyr-Be-Gone as he has a LOT of faith in his older siblings, until Stuff Happens :^))))

Kvitravn by Wardruna fits his main story arc, where he's begging and bartering for some kind of renewed faith in his family and the natural order of the world. Hoðr is a good guy, I swear I won't hurt him... much. (Lying)

Ravens are very important in Norse mythos, with Odin himself having two ravens (Huginn and Muninn) and being associated with the animals. Also I like corvids and I like Hoðr.

Shut Eye by Stealing Sheep and Little Dark Age by MGMT are Dionysus songs. I feel like it's just self explanatory. Also my life changed when I saw a classical Latin cover of Little Dark Age and Smells Like Teen Spirit.

You're Gonna Go Far, Kid has early story Macaque vibes. :^) pre-healing arc... hehe. My man would listen to edgy rock music like that, cmon.

Man on the Moon by Zella Day has Hypnos vibes. I love Zella Day...

Uhhhhhhhhh

The Garden by The Crane Wives is a song I associate with Ares for some reason, i dunno. Ask the animatic in my head lmao

Answered, but I will gladly take any opportunity to talk about my characters bc I'm a narcissist.

So I will be approaching this question from a different angle now and talk about not what inspired me to create the character, but what inspires me in where the character is at.

But in truth, nothing inspires me in the moment I just make stuff and connect dots later. Sometimes years later. Took me years to realize that Nexus was a superhero story. ANYWAY.

The American Dream. Malcolm is the pinnacle of the American dream. Average guy from a rural upbringing works hard goes to college works hard some more and works his way up a corporate ladder and boom! Success story! Pulling yourself up by your bootstraps! And that's a good thing. But this is also his villain origin story.

See, his father rightly wanted him to be independent, so he raised him telling him that "no one will pick you up but yourself, no one will help you make good YOU have to make good. You've gotta stand on your own two feet because no one will be there when you fall." and this is a good lesson (and to be clear, was not used as justification for neglecting young boy Malcolm he was well taken care of his parents were awesome) the problem is that being raised in this mindset Malcolm's worldview developed into one of "there is no altruism, generosity, or truly good people." Not exactly in a cynical way, but in a very neutral way. He doesn't believe there is any grand cosmic force ruling the universe so all we have are the days under the sun and no one is really going to spend that time caring about other people we've all just gotta get as far as we can go.

And truly, there's nothing really bad about his worldview. I mean, I'm a Christian so I disagree in a very fundamental way, but it's not like he's some twisted individual. He's a very normal guy, actually. But when you believe that nothing really matters outside of life, and that right and wrong are defined on an individual basis save for a handful of rules we all agree on to function civilly, why shouldn't he partake in shady deals? Sell weapons to people who maybe shouldn't have them. Fund research that may not be entirely ethical. Steal information from other studies. After all, it's just business, and what good does integrity actually do in a world where there is no higher power watching?

And then enter Arely, who's worldview is entirely different, and she acts on it. And she gets herself in trouble simply because she has enough faith to give people the chance over and over again. to give Malcolm the chance over and over again.

Malcolm is equally interested in Arely as a person and as a interesting topic of scientific study. His world is so different from hers, and yet, hers cannot be dampened for anything. And the weird part is that he comes to see that she's right. Because people do risk their lives to protect each other, and people do go out of their way to care for each other, and people do pick her up when she falls. And it takes him a long time to admit it, but his worldview is wrong.

Nexus isn't really a story about a teenage girl with cool superpowers and an unbreakable spirit. It's about a average man who believes there are no good people in the world, and it's about the Korean family who can't really understand her but could tell that Arely was in danger and took her in. It's about Joe, who keeps paying her because he knows that she's just trying to support her friends but can't reliably work. It's about Xander, who learned that his dad was a criminal and vowed to be better. It's about Quinn, who cared so much about the world's first superhero that he'd put everything he had into a doomed case to protect her. And it's about a mugger who accidentally fired a gun and never wanted to hurt anybody.

Channeling before I did the rest of the reading:

That term about being weird/delulu (I do this this too) that’s you invalidating and judging your own emotions. Gotta cut that out because it undermines your self trust. For example if you say you’re going to do something a lot and you don’t follow through, that is you breaking trust with yourself.

Lack of self trust is what leads to fear, it also can lead us to looking to others to define us. Your relationship with yourself is truly a relationship between two parts of you, your wounded self and your higher self. Anyway, you break the trust of your higher self when you don’t follow through, that’s why it can be so hard to connect to divine at times. Working out is part of building self trust because it’s you training your body to take care of you, for example you will feel more capable of hiking or running long distances when you train and practice hiking or running long distances.

Does that make sense? It helps heal the trust issue because you know you’re training your body to do things you want or may need to do. Hope that makes sense!

Can’t an attraction like this be one-sided?

It can sometimes be one-sided. So test it. Try sending a telepathic message to him and see if he says it out loud. I know that sounds a little crazy, but it can happen. It’s happened to me. And also see if he keeps randomly showing up in your life. I think that will let you know more that it’s not one sided. The more strange synchronistic things that happen between you, the more spiritual you know it is. At least, that’s my advice.

Anime Update V2 47

Wolf’s Rain - After taking a week off from this show I got to watch the extra four episodes that make up its true finale as a sort of Easter special. And I gotta say that I don’t think I have that many words that can do it justice. It’s everything you could’ve asked for a conclusion to this anime story to be and even exceeds what you might’ve been expecting to see. It’s uncompromisingly bleak, brutal, and dark, with emotional character deaths one after another the likes of which hadn’t been seen since Sailor Moon. But it’s all for the purpose of strengthening the story’s message about faith in a higher spiritual calling and how we all seek our own Paradise even in the face of all life’s challenges. And the very end of the final episode was beautiful.

Hunter x Hunter - After being unable to defeat Razor and his crew at the sports challenge event, the main party ditches some members and looks for new ones to do it over with now that they know the nature of the game. Then an unexpected plot twist that the opening totally spoiled would happen ahead of time: Hisoka joins the party! Which leads to intrigue with Killua knowing that Hisoka’s lying about stuff and withholding some critical information about the Spiders and why he’s really here, but Hisoka knows he knows and is already well prepared to erase his digital prints and throw the kids off his trail. And Bisky is feigning having a crush on Hisoka? Damn, that’s wacky!

Fruits Basket - As was set up, Shigure finally got to play Dad for Tohru in the parent-teacher conference, and he was as awful at it as you’d expect. But the real focus went to Yuki and (in another surprise entrance) Ayame taking on their abusive mother. It wasn’t very pleasant. Having to put up with the mother and her demeaning of Yuki, self-aggrandizing and playing the victim was excruciating, though that’s by design of the writing. And thankfully, this series doesn’t do what Assassination Classroom did and hastily rewrite the abuser and how she and her child interact so soon after they’d established the abuse story, or Heaven forbid what Your Lie In April did regarding its abusive mother-abused son relationship - it takes a more mature direction with Yuki, after finding the courage to speak his mind and defy his mother to her face, starting to realize how small, fragile, and ultimately not too threatening or significant his mom now seems to him and truly always was, and it’s made clear that the mom’s love for her sons is very much in there but it would not be easy to bring it out to the forefront and magically make her a better person, and so Yuki doesn’t try, focusing on himself instead.

Date A Live S4 - Surprisingly uneventful episode for the most part, with the Spirits making Valentines chocolates for Shido and testing his heart so that he isn’t won over by Kurumi’s alluring tactics. Except for one part where, out of nowhere, Nibelcolle, the clone-creating girl from DEM, shows up at Shido’s window and...kills him, I guess? But then he wakes up like nothing happened. It’s never even spoken of afterwards! Did Kurumi do some off-screen time meddling here!?

Re:ZERO - Finishing Arc 2 made one thing very clear to me - I’m lowkey in love with this series and really not even due to the Isekai elements even if those are better handled than most Isekai. It’s due to these characters. I adore Subaru, he’s gotten legit laughs out of me more times than I can count. Emilia and Puck were super likable and endearing from the get-go, I eagerly await seeing more of Reinhart, Felt, and Old Man Rom, and now with this arc we’ve added Rem, Ram, Beatrice and Roswaal to the fold. Put these guys in any situation and I’d follow them anywhere. And thus my watch goes on!

Symphogear G - Best way to describe this one is Hibiki VS Miku. A lot of other action and fighting went on as well, but the fight between the two dear gal pals was the main draw. Poor Kirika and Shirabe seem at a loss for where to take their very lives at this point, Maria’s going semi-mad while Nastassja is dying, and Dr. Ver continues to be a hamtastic menace who’s now made the Abyssal Ruins rise from the sea so he can summon the Three Great Powers or some shit. And in response, Chris readies to make a desperate play. Chris, no!

MAR - Next match was Jack VS Candace, who was already revealed to be more perky and lovestruck than she seemed to be when she had her mask on but now makes clear that she’s a straight up sadomasochist! I think this was the first truly good fight for Jack, as the way he pulled victory from the jaws of certain defeat was very impressive and even if he didn’t win per say (it was a double KO, a draw), he proved he really has become more capable than before.

Gintama - Another double story episode. The first segment about the Kappa-like Amantu was pretty meh, but the second one about Gin’s search for a fan and how he randomly gets caught in the crossfire of some big, action-packed fight between two factions over a “FAN” (I dare not spoil what it really is) had me howling over its total lunacy.

AND

Moriarty The Patriot - Early into the “The Two Detectives” two-parter, a thought struck me: I would gladly watch a whole show about this version of Sherlock Holmes AND a whole show about this version of Professor Moriarty, and this anime is generous enough to kind of give me both in a single package. The episodes themselves were excellent, being your traditional “Murder On The ___ Express” setup, including the famous “catch me if you can, Mr. Holmes” scene, and showing us Sherlock and Liam working together to solve a case and prove Watson’s innocence (between The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles and this, why are modern Japanese adaptations of Sherlock Holmes so mean to Watson?) How Liam ultimately enables the guilty party to be caught was surprising in how bastardly and underhanded it was, but his reasoning for doing it even when he didn’t need to got an “aaaww” out of me. And then not only is the Holmes-Watson team back together, but we end with the Queen herself tasking one of her agents to a case: f**king Mycroft Holmes!
