#I saw an interview where Joss said he didn't expect fans to be so upset over Tara's death#so I feel like the Kennedy relationship#was just him attempting to throw a replacement ship into the show thinking all fans wanted was more girl on girl action#it was even played up in a more male gaze way than twillow had been#it simply wasn't a well crafted story#and I think that's because the motivation behind it didn't come from the right place (via @aphony-cree)

I think I would dislike willow and kennedy's relationship less if Tara didn't die if that makes sense? Like her death set off the series of events for the finale. It's obviously a big deal in the show. Willow killed two people and was ready to end it all for everybody over this woman. She went full villain. I think with a reaction as explosive as that I expected more fallout. Sure there was that one episode when she turned into Warren and the episode she first comes back to sunnydale. But both of those felt more about her guilt at having killed and hurt people than her grief over Tara. I think if Tara had somehow survived and her and Willow just broke up, But Willow and kennedy's relationship and the episodes I mentioned were left as is, The relationship might have gone over better for me.

Fully on Anya’s side about her being able to run the shop alone while Giles is gone. She’s been working for Giles full time since the day the shop opened. We see her do more work in the shop than Giles does. And he can’t trust her to watch the place for one week? “People requires a certain finesse” Well she already runs the counter, and I’m sure she’s capable of making and receiving inventory orders. Beyond that, what sort of people interaction are you imagining going on that couldn’t also wait a week?

Also, rude af of Willow to jump in over Anya and reassure Giles she’ll help look after everything. Like, who the fuck are you? You’re not another shop employee, you’re sure as hell not Anya’s minder, you’re not even Anya’s friend. What gives you the right to jump and assume authority of the situation?
