I have been on so many yo-yo and strange diets in my time. But finally, eating a pescatarian whole food plan has really been working for me. The idea is to completely change my style of eating and work on my portion control. Cooking from scratch is time consuming but, overall it is healthier for me. I'm tired of starting over and hoping that this "new" diet will help me lose weight and decrease my pain 😢. Now, I'm just in it to decrease pain and live a healthier lifestyle. 💔 the spoonie in me wants to cry because I can remember those few hours years ago when I was pain and headache free, which seemed so long ago. GOALS, I have no other social media, so I will be using this as my journal to follow along with my progress. We shall see how this goes.
It’s been over a year since I last had a seizure and this morning I woke up with a purple inside of my mouth and a vague recollection of “shit goin down” aka having a seizure. It’d been a very glitchy day - in and out of consciousness a few times and trying to carry on as normal. So I start the grief process again. Every time. Over the years the process got speedier. Instead of hitting me 2 days later like a tonne of bricks it became a slowly creeping entity that came to rest beside me after a few hours. We are slightly more comfortable with each other now. Now that the general shape of my life and dreams has morphed considerably. I call her over with a guided mediation and we sit in the quiet together and sigh. It is so confusing. Invisible illness screams to be seen to “feel validated” at times - and yet when it is here, rearing it’s terrifying head, there is a sickly concoction of grief and validation that sits uncomfortably on my chest and crushes me. Are you meant to feel guilt for sympathy you receive for something out of your control? This morning my Dad says “oh, you were doing so well”.
Epilepsy is a brain disorder that causes people to have recurring seizures. A seizure is a sudden burst of electrical activity in the brain. Seizures can cause a variety of symptoms, including loss of consciousness, muscle spasms, and strange sensations or behaviors.
Join us in celebrating #PurpleDay and spreading awareness about #Epilepsy. Together, we can show our strength and support those affected by this condition.
Purple Day is an annual event dedicated to raising awareness about epilepsy. It was founded in 2008 by Cassidy Megan, a young Canadian girl who has epilepsy herself, with the aim of encouraging people to learn more about the condition and to support those living with it.
On Purple Day, which falls on March 26th each year, people worldwide wear purple clothing and accessories as a sign of solidarity with those affected by epilepsy. Buildings and landmarks may also be lit up in purple to raise awareness.
The color purple was chosen because it represents both the sadness often associated with epilepsy, as well as the hope for a brighter future through increased awareness, understanding, and support for individuals with epilepsy.
During Purple Day, various events and activities take place globally, including educational seminars, fundraising events, social media campaigns, and community outreach efforts.

"Epilepsy doesn't define a person; their strength and resilience do. Today, we celebrate the warriors facing seizures with courage and grace. Your journey inspires us all."
In 1986 I had my first gran mal seizure. It lead to many tests to figure out why. In my right frontal lobe, an AVM was found. It had bled causing the seizure. I had brain surgery in January of 1987. The AVM was resected. I have a walnut sized piece of brain missing. After many years of not seeing a neurologist, I started having major migraines, again. This led to my primary sending me to a new neurologist. He found 4 more AVMs in my right frontal lobe. It was decided to leave them alone. I have to keep my blood pressure in check, I cannot lift heavy objects, as any kind of strain can cause 1 or all to rupture and cause me to stroke out.
Epilepsy-Does your road end here? How do you see where you’re at? Are you discouraged with what life has handed you? Or, have you been able to cope with your circumstance? You might say, “Ya but…” I get it. That’s what I, too, said for decades. It's time to see everything with different perspective. It’s time to shed some light in the whole situation and not just your own. I'm not saying that you should just put everything you've gone through aside. What I am saying is that you have the ability to see greatness despite your demise. Don't allow your darkness to overshadow your light. All you need is a shift in the way you think. What if you had family and friends who surrounded you? What if you had the ability to go for a walk and admire Mother Nature’s beauty? Look beyond your situation and you will find abundance. P.S. Want to learn more about seizure control? ***Join me for a free Masterclass.*** You will learn of holistic practices that allow me and many to be in control of their seizures. On Thursday March 9th. If you live with epilepsy, it will touch you directly. Email me to attend at [email protected] The Masterclass will be on Thursday March 9th at 3pm Pacific Standard Time (6pm EST).
