New Thought about season 2: Alina tells Aleksander that she doubts him when he says, "I know what you feel when you're with your tracker", and then later says that she will "never know another love" like the one she has with Mal... this really, really infantilizes her character, regressing her back to the teenager that she is in the books. Teenagers feel and believe such absolutes because it is literally the first time they are experiencing these major feelings and dealing with the harshness of reality, but Alina is chronologically no longer a child (in the show); she's been in the army since she was 18- so 2-3 years- yet she's still emoting and reacting as if she has gained no experience of her own of love and loss, of joys and pain. It also erases her own knowledge and experience of being a persecuted minority, as she shows no awareness that Grisha in general, and Aleksander in particular, have faced the exact same struggle (although this is a huge carry over from season 1, and a huge black hole on the plot/writing).

When Evan tries to take the leash out of Barty’s neck he pouts mockingly. “What if I wanna keep it? Reggie brought it just for me.” Evan smirks. “I packed you a nicer one, but if you don’t want it…” Barty took it off so fast James could only assume he regularly wore them. “Here,” he threw it at James. “I’m sure you can make proper use of it.” Evan scoffed. “Don’t give them that shit, they’re gonna hurt themselves. I can buy you a better one,” he took the chain out of where it had fallen on Regulus' thighs. “Oh, I don’t think we’re gonna-” James started at the same time as Regulus said, “Sure.” His gaze quickly found his boyfriends, he looked serious and slightly mischievous, not an ounce of playfulness in them. “Are you for real?” “Yep, I quite liked dragging Barty around like my little bitch.” James' eyebrows almost reached his hairline, perhaps he should’ve been jealous of that even if Regulus's tone had been teasing, but all he felt was desire settling deep in his core. “Any time, sweetheart.” Evan offered Regulus like Barty belonged to him and he was the one who ought to give him permission to play with his toy, James supposed he did in their own way. “I might take you up on that.” Regulus played along, they were such close friends that they didn’t mind teasing each other like that.

“Then prove it.” Barty pounces on him so fast James doesn’t even see him coming, suddenly his back is hitting a tree and Barty’s lips are on his. It’s as much of a violent attack as a caress from a long-lost lover. It’s everything James wanted and all he feared. Because his feelings were still there, the distance only made his heart grow fonder. And yet it’s an instinct to fight it because he had made up his mind that he’d never be able to feel this again. James pushes him and pulls him back in a matter of seconds, he’s not strong enough to make himself stop, not when he has Barty so firmly pressed against him. So he does the only thing he knows will keep him away. James grabs the stake he always keeps hidden in himself and presses it in front of Barty’s heart, not strong enough to pierce his skin, just enough for him to feel the pressure. Barty freezes, green eyes going wild. “I see you’ve been doing your homework.” “Let me go,” James begs, his glasses fogging up from the tears that were welling up in his eyes. “You don’t want that, sunshine.”

“I do,” he says strongly enough in hope that if he can't convince himself then the least he can do is make Barty believe in it. “That’s too bad because I can’t.” Barty rested his forehead against James, his breath so close to his mouth he could almost taste him. “You’ll have to kill me.” “Barty.” James protested. “Come on.” his eyes shine with a type of madness James hadn’t seen in him before. “Do it, I’ll make it easy for you.” And then Barty snarls, his teeth growing pointed and his eyes glowing red. “Is this what you wanted to see?” He asks savagely. “Is this the monster I needed to become in your eyes so that you could end me?” James's breathing gets even more shallow. Barty had never been more wrong, he doesn’t have the appearance of a monster. This is how he was always meant to look like. Divine. Barty looks like an otherworldly being that James was born to worship. “No, Barty-” But he doesn’t give him time to continue, mumbling through his pointed teeth. “It will be you or me, sweetheart,” then James feels an acute pain in his neck, a burning so strong spreading through his veins that his vision almost goes black.

My opinions on Marauders era ship names (my opinions no hate)

— Wolfstar - 7.5/10, I really like it it’s like a wolf howling to the moon but expect to a star, which is strange but beautiful. I’ve heard it sm it’s kinda normal for me idk, it doesn’t strike me that much. ~ Moonstar - 8.5/10, I love this also, I prefer this one tho. This one feels right and just seems more like engaging ig?

— Jily - 8/10, very cute name. Jily is the og name and I love it but.. ~ Flowerpot - 9.5/10 i love this name SM better, it sounds more iconic and rare idk, Flowerpot does different stuff to me. Gives me more love and home-y vides which fit them sm

— Pandalily - 9/10, it’s reminds me of a sunny day with rain: the perfect mix of warm and cooling down. It’s so cute ‘panda’ and ‘lily’ is such a cute mix and I love it

I don’t really like this ship but this name is amazing, I don’t why but this name reminds me of flames for no reason and I think it’s real fitting

+ It's not very clear where he came from, all that is known is that Bigpaw found him while patrolling one night and promptly adopted him as a little brother.

+ A very sweet not-little guy <3

+ Definitely a normal cat, there is absolutely nothing weird about him :) Don't ask why he can't retract his claws and why his eyes and skin glow and why his blood is silver and why the whites of his eyes are black :) (He doesn't know and neither does anybody else)

+ Very fluffy! Also, when he was little, he was completely black tabby, but the orange (and the white specks) started showing up as he grew.

Update on the survey I'm running! (thank you to everyone who has done it so far, you're all amazing. If you want to do it, the link is at the bottom)

Straight off the bat, the fandom seems to be mainly cis women. Gender queer people and trans mascs make up small portions and cis men and trans women seem to be very few and far between.

2. Trans mascs are more likely than anyone else to pick James over Severus when faced with the choice.

3. Lesbians are more likely to pick Jily as a preferred ship in both Doechaser and Jegulily

4. Cishet women are more likely to choose mlm ships over hetro presenting ones.

5. People choosing Princechaser will usually also choose Regulily (and in the golden era- Drarry)

6. People who love doechaser don't like jegulily and vice versa

7. People choose Snily over Princechaser and Regulily over Jily

8. Those who have been in the fandom for 10 or more years don't like either trio, and will choose dramione over drarry

9. Snily shippers prefer drarry over dramione. They're also more likely to choose Prongsfoot (out of prongsfoot, walphemia, party and darksun)

New Thought on Season 2 of Shadow and Bone (and resulting fan fics): I'm total behind OT3s if that's your thing, and I've read some interesting Darknikolina fic... maybe it's because I only read TGT, but Nikolai really feels like a Tabula Rasa character in the trio, where the writer/reader can project pretty much anything onto him and have it still be considered in character.

I have plenty!!

1. ‘Not Gonne Die’ by skillet inspired it: Regulus drowning in the cave and Sirius, James, Barty, and Evan show up to save him because Pandora sent them.

2. Married Jegulus. They don’t currently live together because they’re moving closer to Sirius but Regulus still has things to finish up before transferring with work or something. Haven’t put that much thought into it. So James is living with Sirius and Remus and no one in their friend group knows James is married until he’s in an accident and Regulus shows up at the hospital.

3. Darksun exes to lovers: Barty and James were together in high school until Barty left town and James after a pretty bad fight with his dad. Bartys now in a band (with Regulus, Evan, Pandora) and they meet back up when Sirius drags James to one of their shows.

That’s all I can think of at the moment. I’m constantly planning things I’ll never write 😂

MASS EXTINCTION EVENT: Flood, aka The IncidentTM

I was absolutely devastated when this happened. I wanted it to, obviously, or I would have turned the option off, but GOOD LORD was I not expecting it to be 1. THIS bad and 2. that FAST. It felt like no time at all between when I turned it on and when this happened, but I digress. Here is... what happened.

Amberstar lost his mate, so did Ashburn. Burdockquiver died right after becoming a warrior. SPORESTRIPE HAS BEEN HERE SINCE DAY ONE AND WAS ONE OF AMBERSTAR'S BASICALLY SURROGATE CHILDREN. Waspcry is gone, Darksun had JUST become a warrior... Shatterthorn and Maple left behind children...

Amberstar's is particularly brutal to me. He has outlived EVERYONE. He is the ORIGINAL LEADER OF WORMCLAN. The only other founder left at this point is Sorreldew, which is just... another thing.

Ivytail's hurt me, and they had a little crush on Sporestripe that never came to fruition either...

Not to mention Sorreldew has outlived nearly every child, AND their mate...

One of the few left behind...

BUT. if it is any consolation; now we are caught up. Now we can really go somewhere.
