The Favor
When Youngblood became a ghost he actually didn't think he would be so lonely. It was stressful and annoying, being so young, watching the years go by but never being able to move on or change. He was a child who died, and the only way for him to feel like a child again was to play.
But even then he felt invisible. That made his powers listen to his wishes and cause no adult to see him. And maybe that was for the better, adults were scary, adults could hurt you. They wouldn't understand.
Meeting the other ghosts was both a blessing and a curse. Everyone saw him as a kid, some thought he was annoying and others played with him. He was grateful to Ember for spending so much of her time being a pirate, but he didn't want to take up so much of her time. It made him feel guilty.
When Danny became King and the ghost kid heard that he was destined to help the other ghosts, Youngblood plucked up his courage and asked him for a favor: Find him a friend. One alive that wanted to play and never get bored of it.
Danny took the task very seriously, looking for all possible candidates, avoiding ghosts. Until he found a more or less suitable friend: Klarion. He was older than Youngblood but seemed to be just as bored. Clockwork looked at him in dismay at his solution to the problem but didn't stop him.
This led to the Justice League being defeated by Klarion, who had taken over the Watchtower and seemed to be happily talking to air. He was seconds away from destroying the earth or something similar with death ray, but there was nothing they could do about it.
Everyone froze when a portal opened next to the boy and someone came out asking "How are the new friends?" Before realizing the situation, the creature sighed in disappointment and destroyed the death ray with a snap of his fingers. A girl just like him came out of the portal excited ignoring everyone and began to talk to the air. Klarion seemed to be following the conversation.
Danny watched Youngblood talking to Dani and Klarion, he knew that his cousin could be good company, but he hadn't contacted her before due to her travels and status as a halfa (the probability of destroying the world was there too); well, now Youngblood had two friends (that solved the problem) but- how did he prevent them from ending the world? Or worse, from terrorize innocent cosplayers?

Fentons family's guide Section on being an evil assistant to a supervillain
_________________________________________
Fentons family's guide to being an evil assistant to a supervillain
Guide by Jazmin Fenton in case of employment with a supervillain.
Being an evil assistant or henchmen is surprisingly a very stable source of an income stream all things considered.
You just need to find a boss. A as in singular it's very important, who is pathetic and or stupid enough to constantly have their large scale plan failing even without the hero's Involvement.
And while their large scale plan for taking over the world with a weapon of mass destruction could be feasible if only they didn't think to actually use it. Using it to threaten the world leaders for sway is the correct way. It is the most unused method the one being used most is the method of actually using the weapon of mass destruction for mass destruction.
You as the evil assistant then have the responsibility to make sure that the villain doesn't/ can't use said device to destroy the world. The heroes can help. Later then take the blame for the failure absolving you of involvement.
Being a good evil assistant is babysitting the evil boss.
_________________________________pg 9___
"Oh man never thought I'd actually need to use the 'Fenton guide' Jazz made me." Danny mumbled quietly and heaved a sigh of relief when he had found it among his hastily packed together bag.
Jazz had been the one making both of their emergency bags when she had told him about the guide. He hadn't appreciated it then now he truly did now with everything going on.
God he missed Jazz so much. He wanted to see her so badly he wanted to hold her hand like when they were kids. He really wanted her hand to squeeze his back in reassurance that everything was going to be fine.
Danny tried holding back his sobs at the thought. He couldn't stop the mist in his eyes or his hands shaking holding the little booklet.
But he wanted her safe and far away from everything even more. He wanted his friends to be safe with his sister. It didn't matter if he had to be far away working getting those crystals every way he could think of. His friends and sister needed money to keep them safe, hidden and taken care of. They needed that money and crystals and if Danny had to choose between his morals and fright he would always choose his true family. Morals be damned.
• • •
He hadn't expected the costume to be so good in quality. That had surprised him the most the second being how easy it would be getting a job with villains. Turns out working as an "meta" henchmen who knew everything from fighting to logistics and machinery was a rarity in this dimension. Who would have guessed it with all the metas and enhanced humans going about? And omg they even have aliens in this dimension!
Getting the money for the crystals had been going surprisingly smoothly. Everything had been going so smoothly that of course it had to be ruined! The villain Danny was working for had gotten noticed and promptly got beat. Which meant he didn't have an employer anymore at least until a breakout was orchestrated. So no more job until then.
And Danny had finally managed his way to the middle hierarchy in that organization! Now he would need to go looking for evil henchmen positions again! It wasn't even a good season to go looking for openings in other organizations.
Damn it that bat furry in Gotham and his flock of birds. Don't they get how hard it is for a henchmen to find descant work!?
Maybe he should go with the duo villain and assistant type next time.
Thank you so much for reading I hope it was enjoyed!

Everything had to be perfect.
Not only because it was done by Evelynn herself, but because it was for Robin. And she'd stop nothing short of perfection for his birthday.
Perhaps she has grown a little too soft over the years. And yet she shoos such a thought aside to focus on much more important matters: his gift. After forgoing sleep the previous night to ensure it's arrival (much to the dismay of Akali, who likely tossed in turned in her absence).
The gift is simple, yet custom made from several countries over. In another time, long ago, they would have met around this area. Her hands carefully cradle the small box, afraid of her own destruction. Inside contains what seems to be a straightforward necklace; silver chained and accompanied with a singular gem and metal feather.
Sure, it may be cheesy, but often (as Evelynn has come to learn) it is the smaller things that makes a difference.
She waits until the day has passed, when he's been bombarded by everyone else, just as he did to her, to approach. Her lips curve into a gentle smile as she knocks at his apartment (and yes, knocks -- not barging in) door. The box is held clearly in her hand, and she's accompanied with a silly party hat (the band wouldn't let her leave without it). So when he opens the door, Evelynn's beaming and there's definitely pride that shines in her gaze.
"Happy birthday, Robin."
BIRTHDAY WISHES ═══ MODERN VERSE ═══
The assistant gazed at his reflection while Danny finished getting ready for their night out; his green eyes bright and well rested as he slicked his curls back. The lack of bangs framing his features brought a rather mature quality to his face, not old - but handsome rather than pretty. His gaze had now wandered down to his cufflinks and settled upon the beautiful ring adorning his finger, his lips curled back in a comfortable joy before he lifted his stare towards their bedroom. He half debated going back there and sweeping Danny into such a kiss they'd be sure to be late - although the knock caught his attention and he dropped the thought to answer the door.
He wasn't sure why his form tensed, why he didn't look out the peephole, and why his gaze turned into that of a waking, simmering hell; perhaps he had expected someone else to show up at his doorstep. Although that was quick to fall apart as he catches two sparkling eyes staring up at him, a strange softness in their metallic reflection of his own gaze. Robin noticed her smile next before wandering upwards to the cute party hat upon her head, a strangely innocent accessory for the type of woman she was.
'Happy birthday, Robin.'
His mind swiftly remarked the lack of voice messages left today, the lack of phonecalls from someone he might've once called mother and father, and somehow her words ignite his heart to bring warmth throughout his body. Why did it seem that around her and Danny his cheeks were always tinged pink with joy and an emotion he couldn't quite place...an emotion so outside of her palate for even Evelynn to consume. In one embarrassingly quick motion do his arms wrap around her form and pull her against his chest, one hand upon her back and the other cupping the back of her head as if she were his entire world; one he never wished to let go.
But he had to, and he does.
"Thank you--- good evening, Miss Evelynn, this is quite the surprise," but his tone held nothing but pure affection towards her as he is presented with the gift, "Ah....You didn't have to. But.." Robin chuckled as he began to unwrap it and when his eyes finally fall upon the jewelry he found a strange tug upon his heartstrings. Something beyond his time was calling to him, begging to be let out so it could embrace his boss. His hands tremble as he lifted the necklace towards the light, its sparkles brought a smile to his face, one filled with teeth as he quickly clipped the chain on the back of his neck.
It matched his attire quite well, the gems glistening the same beautiful shade of azure as the ones upon his ear; he reached up to caress the feather as he spoke once mroe, "Come come...We still have plenty of time before our reservation, I want to show Danny and talk with you a little while." And just like that his arm circled her waist to tug her close and pull her into the apartment; he had a new piece of daily jewelry now, he'd have to adjust his outfits around it.

Review: Danny Wright’s new pop-punk single ‘TRAIN WRECK’ embodies both high energy thrills and self-destructive tendencies
Tumblr media
Living up to his title as the ‘Prince of Pop Punk’, attributed by the BBC, British rising star Danny Wright is certainly making a name for himself in the new revival of the sound. Since his first release long ago in 2017, Danny has since amassed quite the platform online where not only does he share all his new musical announcements, but he places a strong focus upon discussing mental health and societal issues knowing his audience can learn from his own experiences and views. As he slowly nears 2,000 monthly Spotify listeners, it won’t be any surprise to us that after sharing his first single of the year, ‘TRAIN WRECK’, Danny should be well on his way to attracting a much larger audience.
Self-destructive and high-energy at it’s core, Danny’s newest release ‘TRAIN WRECK’ that debuted last month doesn’t hold back on it’s soundscape or lyrical mishmash of thoughts. From the grungy electric guitar that leads us into this bombastic concoction, it’s made clear from the opening moments that Danny’s anthemic riffs were made for the pop-punk genre. Progressing towards more electronic backing effects for the verses, these moments really allow Danny’s spoken-sung vocals to show their true rawness as he details every struggle for the world to see. Their hoarse tone adds another layer of intimacy within ‘TRAIN WRECK’, swiftly jumping into a high energy, fast-paced chorus that utterly devours your ears in the best way possible, and leaves your blood pumping in anticipation for what’s next. As the track closes, we see every instrumental element cohesively layered for quite the dramatic closure, bringing the volume and build sure to keep ‘TRAIN WRECK’ on repeat.
From the darker, pop-punk sound it’s probably no surprise that Danny’s lyricism is confessionally poignant, retelling the age old rockstar lifestyle in his own modern spin. Through his own self-destructive chaos, Danny rips apart self-help methods like ‘Close your eyes and manifest, the universe will fix your mess’, expressing his preference to drink and party for a sense of purpose that he can’t seem to find anywhere else. Although he makes no attempt to better himself or leave this downhill cycle, the track hardly romanticises such a lifestyle with the harsh realities peeking through: ‘I sleep with all these demons, when will it all make sense?’ Telling a bitter tale with complete rawness, ‘TRAIN WRECK’ does not hold back in sharing an authentic outlook, perhaps from Danny or from other inspirations, reminding listeners that these unhealthy habits will not fix their problems but ultimately they’re not alone in their struggles of trying to get off the seemingly never-ending train journey that is depression. Such a harsh, in your face narrative is not pretty and certainly not intended to be anything but that, with Danny’s diary-esque penmanship making it all the more difficult to ignore whilst still remaining quite the unapologetically catchy tune.
The track also comes alongside an incredibly fitting music video shot within a studio. Between minimalistic white shots and harsh pink and purple light, this wanna-be rockstar does a great job at selling the dream as he dances under pulsating light and aggressively strums his vibrant pink and checkerboard guitar with his drummer putting on quite the thundering performance in the background. Between these quickly changing shots and thrilling angles of their performance, we also see scenes of Danny singing down the new location of a corridor, sitting playing guitar on a well-fitting pink sofa, and an darkly lit scene as he screams into a lightbulb hanging from the ceiling. While the video doesn’t focus on much of the story at hand, it more than excels at painting the picture of youthful energy and determination as the pair put on quite the show that’s hard to look away from when paired with such a gripping new single.

If Danny’s newest single sounds like something you’d like to party to, or perhaps let yourself feel the weight of his words and find solace within them, then you can go put ‘TRAIN WRECK’ on repeat for yourself here!

10 best Nickelodeon cartoons
Tumblr media
Well, this is probably going to be my most controversial countdown but here we go! I love all cartoons, old and new (but I do have a preference for newer stuff), and I go to each cartoon for a different reason. This countdown is going to have lots of classic Nicktoons that people loved, and it will also have some of the newer stuff that I grew up with. I appreciate both types of cartoons and I come to both types for different reasons. Anyways, here’s my ten best Nickelodeon cartoons.
10. Glitch Techs
Tumblr media
I probably already surprised people with this one…you guys are probably wondering what’s so great about an obscure, short-lived Nicktoon with a pretty dead fandom. Well, regardless of its obscurity, I enjoyed Glitch Techs a lot. Running in 2020 for a total of 2 seasons and 19 episodes, Glitch Techs is about two teenagers named Hector and Miko who stop these video game characters that come to life, and essentially try to stop them from causing destruction across the real world. I really loved the premise on it’s own, but the characters and the unique artstyle added so much for me. I’d highly recommend it. You can watch Glitch Techs on Netflix!
9. The Legend of Korra
Tumblr media
I’m not sure if this take is controversial, but I have definitely seen quite a bit of hate on this show online, so I’d assume people would be surprised by this take as well, I personally loved The Legend of Korra! Sure, it wasn’t as good as the show it was following up, Avatar: The Last Airbender, but I still enjoyed it. With a total of 4 seasons and 52 episodes, The Legend of Korra take place 70 years after the new series where there is a new avatar by the name of Korra. Like the former series, Katara wishes to learn to master all four elements. At the start, she already knows earthbending, metalbending and firebending. However, she travels to Republic City to learn airbending with Aang’s son, Tenzin. However, she learns about a group called the Equalists who oppose bending. As the series goes on, we are introduced to more intense plot lines. I loved the character dynamics along with the darker tone and the intensity. While it is not as great as the original, it is indeed a great series.  You can watch The Legend of Korra on Netflix or on Amazon Prime Video!
8. The Fairly Odd Parents
Tumblr media
The Fairly OddParents was Nickelodeon’s second longest running show, and it’s definitely great enough to deserve that honor! The series had a total of 10 seasons and 172 episodes. It was about a ten year old boy named Timmy Turner who basically had a terrible life involving being neglected by his parents, having a terrible teacher, an abusive teacher, being an unpopular kid at school, you name it. Due to this miserable life he goes through, he is granted fairy god parents. The Fairly Odd Parents quickly became a show I grew to love on Nickelodeon. Some of my favorite aspects was the very fun concept, the characters and the designs and artstyle they went with. The Fairly Odd Parents was definitely a great series, and while I do not like the last two seasons, I did walk out with eight seasons of awesomeness! You can watch The Fairly OddParents on Paramount +, iTunes, Amazon or Vudu!
7. Rugrats
Tumblr media
From the three original Nicktoons, Rugrats was the longest lasting, and it’s no surprise to me! Rugrats was a series that ran from 1991 to 2004, consisting of 9 seasons and 172 episodes. Rugrats was about a group of babies, Tommy, Chuckie, Phil and Lil, and eventually Dil and Kimi, who get into all sorts of adventures that babies would get into. It was never a series that went out of the way to be weird, and it just showed life from a baby’s perspective which was really entertaining. Some aspects that made me like the show were the innocence of it, the perspective of how a baby interacts, and the fact that it was at times willing to tackle darker themes. You can watch Rugrats on Paramount + Amazon, iTunes and on Hulu!
6. Danny Phantom
Tumblr media
This may be surprising to see…many prefer The Fairly Odd Parents over Danny Phantom, but I guess this is just a little hot take of mine. Danny Phantom was about a boy named Danny Fenton, a 14 year old boy who lives with his two ghost hunter parents. Danny one day explores the Ghost Portal his parents created, and accidentally turns it on which turns him into a half-ghost. However, as his parents are ghost hunters, and as ghosts are not viewed in a positive light, Danny keeps his identity hidden. I loved this series. The animation was phenomenal, the character designs were really neat and the concept was amazing. Danny Phantom was truly amazing. You can watch Danny Phantom on Paramount +, iTunes or Amazon!
5. Rocko’s Modern Life
Tumblr media
This was another show that was ahead of my time…the only reason I know it exists is because I saw a rerun at midnight once when I was younger and fell in love. Spanning a total of 4 seasons and 52 episodes (along with a TV movie in 2019), Rocko’s Modern Life quickly became a classic. Rocko’s Modern Life revolved around an Australian wallaby named Rocko who is trying to live a normal life in O-Town. However, he does get into some pretty peculiar situations. Some other characters in the series are his steer friend Heffer, who often is the one that causes trouble (albeit accidentally) with his actions, Filburt, an awkward turtle, and his neighbor, Mr. Bighead, who hates him and Mr. Bighead’s wife who seems to have a crush on Rocko. With such an interesting set of characters, interesting adventures are definitely bound to happen. And they do! What I love about this show are the crazy situations the characters get themselves into, the fast pacing and the diverse set of characters! Rocko’s Modern Life is indeed a masterpiece, and one of the defining cartoons of the 90s. You can watch Rocko’s Modern Life on Vudu, Amazon or iTunes!
4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012)
Tumblr media
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a franchise I love, and the 2012 series was definitely my favorite series from the bunch. I’m sure most of you know the plot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - the story of four turtles who live in the sewers and fight crime. Well, this one does focus on that, but it takes a much darker approach. In this series, we learn much more about the origin of turtles, and their master, Splinter, the past relationship with Splinter and Shredder, and much more. We also go through an increasingly intense story as each season would top the last. I loved this series when it was airing and I still do. Some things that stand out to me are the darker tone, the characters (it’s the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so obviously I love the characters) and the very tightly driven story. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012) is definitely my favorite Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show from the bunch, and I cannot recommend it enough. You can watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on Amazon or iTunes!
3. Invader Zim
Tumblr media
While we are talking about more mature Nicktoons with a darker tone, I must bring up Invader Zim! Invader Zim was a series which ran from 2001 to 2006 and had a total of 27 episodes. It was about an alien named Zim who gets sent to Earth by the Irken race to get rid of him. Zim along with his brain dead robot assistant GIR attempt to conquer earth, and the only one aware of their plans is Zim’s classmate, Dib (Zim went to school to disguise as a normal kid). The plot points this series takes are truly amazing, and while some episodes are grotesque, they are never gross to the point where I wish to stop watching. Some highlights for me are the darker themes and humor, the pacing and the voice acting. This was definitely one of those shows that was ahead of its time. You can watch Invader Zim on Paramount+, Amazon or iTunes.
2. SpongeBob SquarePants
Tumblr media
Of course, I had to include what is probably not only Nickelodeon’s most iconic cartoon, but the most iconic cartoon in general. SpongeBob SquarePants is a currently ongoing series which started in 1999, and currently has 13 seasons of 270 episodes, along with 3 movies. SpongeBob SquarePants is about a sponge named SpongeBob who works as a fry cook at a local fast food restaurant known as the Krusty Krab. Outside of that, he is often jellyfishing with his starfish friend Patrick, doing karate with his squirrel friend Sandy or annoying his squid neighbor Squidward. The series is truly amazing. My favorite aspects are the fun and vibrant characters, the humor and the fact that it can have darker and emotional episodes. Despite some of the later episodes being mediocre (though it has gotten better again), SpongeBob SquarePants is awesome! You can watch SpongeBob SquarePants on Paramount +, Fubo TV, iTunes and Amazon!
1. Avatar: The Last Airbender
Tumblr media
While this is nowhere near as iconic as SpongeBob SquarePants, Avatar: The Last Airbender is definitely my favorite, and it was the show that introduced me to story-driven cartoons. The series ran from 2005 to 2009, and it had a total of 3 seasons and 61 episodes. The series takes place in a world where there are 4 divided nations: water, earth, fire and air. The four nations lived in peace until the fire nation attacked. Only the Avatar who can master all four elements can restore peace. The Avatar is a young boy named Aang who travels to different nations with his friends in order for him to learn the elements and defeat the fire lord. This show has a great story, an awesome anime-esque artstyle and characters that you can feel for. This is truly the best Nicktoon to me, and I am sure that like myself, most would rank it pretty high on a 10 best Nickelodeon cartoons list. You can watch Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix, Amazon, iTunes or Google Play.
These were the 10 best Nickelodeon cartoons to me! Definitely my most controversial list, but what do you guys think? Let me know what you agree and disagree with! And be sure to follow me for regular cartoon takes!

Time for some 'Oh, you havent heard?' angst train! ( Assuming the Fenton's havent been arrested yet.)
The Fenton's make an unveiling of their new invention(weapon) that could either incapacitate ghosts ( basically mortified, relieves their death and make them weak for days) or exorcist them out of existence ( basically humans and ghosts, he's half-dead so major injury that he cant self-heal and will leave a huge scar). Goal: Danny gets shot with said weapon.
Potentially leads the Fenton's to believe Danny's a full ghost since Danny's not only originally quirkless but also his quirk doesn't mach theirs and its supernatural.
Danny was on patrol with Present Mic when it happened. \
He had decided to choose and easy work study person. Who better than one of his parents? Not only that but he was good in the limelight and in the shadows like his other father. He was able to get the best of both worlds without Eraserhead's nagging.
The night had been cool and the wind low, and there hadn't been anything more major than a purse snatching all night long. It was no surprise that Phantom was able to talk Mic into getting some mid-patrol ice cream before they closed for the night.
And it's not like they stopped. No, once their ice cream was paid for, they walked right back outside to continue the patrol. They passed pedestrians who stopped Mic and Phantom both for photos and autographs, whish both of them were more than happy to provide.
It was supposed to be an easy night.
He hadn't seen them in almost three years.
This wasn't supposed to happen.
A few terrified screams came from around the corner as people were jumping off of the sidewalks and into the street or in whatever store was closest to them. And they didn't have to question why, because before they could even start running in the direction of the commotion, the commotion came to them.
Danny had an ice core, but he's pretty sure that's not what made his blood run cold. Not when an unfortunately familiar armored van fishtailed around the corner.
"Is that-"
"Yup!"
It was a quick conversation between the two as they quickly protected the civilians from the green energy beams racing towards them. Mic shielded one with his body while Danny threw up a bright green shield in front of a family. His hands were shaking, and there was a force stamping down on his chest making it harder and harder to breathe.
"Get out of my son, ghost boy!" Maddie Fenton yelled from the open window she was hanging out of. Danny moved, taking the family with them, and shoved them into the nearest store. Just as the shop door closed, a beam his his shield, breaking it in an instant. He was thrown back into the glass windows by the sheer force of it.
It was instinct alone that kept him from being shot. He moved before his brain could catch up. A scorch mark stained the walls where his head had just been moments before. His mother, it seemed, has been working on her aim.
They were obviously after him. He needed to lead them away from the civilians without getting hit. So going into the air was the obvious choice for him to make.
It was all he could do to dodge the blasts. Since they were made of ecto energy they worked on him even if he was intangible, and with the million sensors he knew they had in the van and his mom's infared goggles, there was no point in going invisible.
He led them back the way they came. The destruction was evident, so there wouldn't be much more damage, and the streets had cleared because of their crazy driving.
From where he was at he could see Present Mic and another hero who had joined the scene working on crowd control as he led them away. That was good. That meant that Mic wouldn't be hurt.
Danny yelped as the heat flew past his ear, just barely missing. He glared down at the armored van and his parents.
"Get out of my son, ghost scum!" She shouted, before firing off another blast. Danny dodged, and cupped his mouth so they could hear him.
"Not possessed!" He didn't get to say much more between the green rays still being shot at him. They weren't giving him any time to think. That was smart. It had been their biggest mistake in the past when they tried to catch him.
In the corner of his eye he could see Mic sprinting towards them. Eraserhead was at his heels. He must have been in the area. Danny swore.
Maddie must have seen who he was looking at, because for a brief, wonderful moment she stopped firing.
Only to point her gun at the two oncoming heroes.
Danny shot down to the ground like a rocket, making it just in time to throw up a shield in front of them. It broke as soon as the ectoray hit is, sending Danny back a few feet. He was about to throw up another one, when Maddie sent off a quick, second shot.
It hit Danny square in the chest, right where his core was. White hot pain immediately coursed through him. His knees buckled, and he fell to the ground, he knew that. But other than that he was dead to the world. The blood rushing in his ears and his vision turning white was deafening. In the distance he hard a scream that was sending shivers down his spine. It sounded awfully familiar. Was it him screaming? Maybe that would explain the extra pain in his throat.
It felt like his muscles were being torn apart, sinew snapping like wires. Fire and ice ran through his veins, begging to be let out. He couldn't speak, couldn't move, couldn't think-
His vision started to fade. White eventually to foggy figures looming over him, melting in far to quickly with the black that took him.
----------
"Eraserhead."
Shouta didn't need to lift his head up to know who was speaking. They had been working long enough now.
"Tsukauchi," he said. It was something to distract him from the heart monitor his son was hooked up to. It had been three days and he still hasn't woken up.
"I came to talk to you about what happened," he said. "I already got a statement from Mic."
Shouta closed his eyes. His leg was bouncing up and down uncontrollably, and he gripped his son's hand like his life depended on it.
He had been patrolling the area when he saw Danny flying around. He was quick to run to Mic and get a rundown on the situation as they ran for their son. He had jumped in front of them. He had protected them. He...He was a self-sacrificing dumbass and Shouta wished so, so much that Danny would have just let them be hit because seeing Danny hooked up to a million machines, weak and exhausted, made him want to vomit. He would take a thousand of those blasts if it meant he never had to hear Danny scream like that again.
After being hit, Danny had dropped to the ground, writhing in pain. He wasn't aware of his surroundings at all. He had Mic stay with him, and move him to safety while Shouta had gone after the older Fentons.
He doesn't remember all that happened. He was in a blind rage when he attacked them. He remembers incapacitating the woman quickly, but the large brute of a husband had gripped him by his throat and shook him around until Shouta managed to make them crash. He had come out on top, of course. When you let blind rage take over that tends to happen.
Danny had been screaming. Green lightning was covering every inch of his body, and he was seizing. HIs body was jerking around in unnatural angles, centering around chest where Shouta knew his ghost core was. He would have gone back to kick the shit out of Maddie more if Mic hadn't stopped him.
The rest was a blur. Danny eventually passed out from the pain and reverted back to his human self. They rushed him to a hospital and called Jazz to let her know what was happening. The Fentons had been arrested, but Jack was in a separate hospital right next to the prison for injuries Shouta had given him. He had beaten the man within an inch of his life, Tsukauchi had told him. He didn't regret it one bit.
How could he? He would do it thrice over if it meant that Danny could be awake, and smiling and joking. If it meant that there was no possible permanent damage to his ghost half or his human half. If it meant he didn't have another Lichtenburg figure spanning across his body centering around his core. It was another permanent reminder of the people who were supposed to be his parents failing him.
Shouta included.
He thought he had taught Danny to stop being so self sacrificial. He hadn't done a good enough job, it seemed.
Tsukauchi said there would be no punishment for Shouta this time. Excessive force from heroes wasn't something usually glossed over, but Tsukauchi understood better than most. Plus, he hadn't used his quirk to take down Jack Fenton. Just his bare, blood-stained fists.
The detective left not long after, wishing Danny a speedy recovery and a promise that the Fentons would be behind bars indefinitely. Shouta thanks him, and turns back to his son.
Danny was pale, and wrapped in bandages. To monitor it better, they had left his chest exposed for the world to see. Even in his human form it was glowing a bright, angry green, fading to black the closer it got to his core. He gripped Danny's hand tighter, bringing it up to his forehead as he let his elbows rest on the side of the bed.
His son was dying. He didn't need a specialist to tell him that. And there was nobody in this godforsaken hospital who could help him because nobody here knew how to take care of a ghost.
The tears came quickly, but for once Shouta wasn't surprised by them. He was just glad Hizashi and Jazz had left the room to go get food from the cafeteria when Tsukauchi had walked in.
After a few long minutes of private, silent crying, there was the sound of a door opening, and then clicking shut. He expected it to be Hizashi, or Jazz, but there were no footsteps coming closer, no comforting hand on his back. No doctor to tell him to let go of Danny so he could take his vitals again.
Instead, there was a deep, smooth voice that rang throughout the room.
Shouta shot up at the unfamiliar voice, snarling as he stood up. The chair he had been sitting in tipped backwards and onto the floor. The blue being in front of him was unfazed.
"Who are you?" He asked, barring his teeth. He gripped his scarf, ready for action if he needed to take it. The blue man just smiled at him softly, as if he had expected this from Shouta.
"Eraserhead," he said. "It's nice to finally meet you. My name is Clockwork."
Shouta had heard Danny talk about him a couple of times. The Master of Time, he had called him. It fit, considering the staff and the fact that his whole torso was a giant clock. He could see the future, or possible futures, but couldn't intervene.
"Why are you here?" He asked. He didn't flinch as the ghost changed from a young adult to an elderly man. But he did grip his scarf a little harder when he pulled out a small vial that had a snow-blue liquid swirling around in it.
"This should help him," he said. "Since his core was attacked he won't be able to heal himself with this injury. This solution was made specifically for Danny, however. It should mend his core enough to wake him up."
"What about after?" Shouta asked. He didn't relax, but the grip on his scarf did loosen.
"He'll still be able to transform and retain his powers. Though they might be weakened for a while, he will make a full recovery."
"Why are you helping us?" Shouta asked after a few moments. The ghost shifted into a child, though the serious look never wavered. Most ghosts hated Danny just for existing. So why was this one so different?
"Because I care for him," Clockwork eventually said. "I'm not supposed to intervene, but Danny has made quite an impression. And he's destined for greater things than dying in a hospital bed." He gave the vial to Shouta, who took it with a shaky hand. "As his guardian, I do have to ask you a favor."
"I should have known this was a catch," Shouta said, baring his teeth once more. Clockwork just gave a soft chuckle.
"No, there isn't. That's why it's a favor, not an ultimatum."
Shouta considered this for a moment, before finally nodding towards the ghost, who had shifted back into a young adult.
"Go on."
"I wish to train Daniel in the Ghost Zone," the ghost eventually said. Shouta opened his mouth to protest, but Clockwork held up a hand to silence him. "Not forever. Not even for a long time. But the boy needs training and he needs rest. The ectoplasmic atmosphere will speed up his healing, as well as a session or to with Frostbite, who is the one who made the medicine for him. All I'm asking for is one night a week at the very most."
"Why should I grant it to you?" Shouta asked.
"Because, he is the future of both worlds. The future is still unclear, but if it goes in the way I think it will, I want him to be prepared. He is the only one who will be able to join both ghosts and humans to fight off the threat looming over out futures. Plus, I think it's high time he have a positive ghost role model to show him the ropes."
"So you're going to groom him into being your ambassador? Your weapon?" Shouta scowled. Danny wasn't some tool to be used and thrown out when useless. He was a person with his own thoughts and feelings and ambitions. He wasn't going to let some fucking ghost get in the way of that. And Danny, he was too willing to do the right thing. If Clockwork told him he needed to jump to save the world, he'd ask how high. As his parent-his father, Shouta couldn't just let him go like that.
"As I said, the future is still unclear," the ghost replied. His calm tone was starting to piss Shouta off. "The threat may not come at all, and Danny will still be all the better for it. Whether the threat comes or not, he's still going to learn how the Zone and ghosts function. Beyond just befriending a few and getting aimlessly lost with the infi-map."
"Why should I believe anything you're saying right now?" Shouta asked.
"I have no reason to lie. And it'll benefit him in the long run. When he is older, and his human half fades, where do you think he will go? He has already been touched by the Zone. He will need to know all of this eventually, anyway. Plus, I will admit I've grown rather fond of the boy. He's the only one who comes to visit because he enjoys my company. Not because he needs something from me. Purely selfish, on my part, I know, but...He is going to be a hero. Both in this world and mine. I just wish to give him all the tools I can."
Shouta had to admit, the ghost made a pretty good argument. And he seemed genuinely sincere with his words. Still, he needed time to think. He would need to talk to Hizashi and Jazz, and Danny when he woke up. He told as much to Clockwork, who nodded with understanding.
"I will come when you call," he said. "Make sure he gets that, however. Ingesting it will work perfectly fine."
With that, he tapped his staff against the ground and left through the portal it made.
----
A week later Danny finally woke up. He looked a little worse for wear, and he had thinned out some, but it wasn't anything physical therapy couldn't take care of.
He had woken up with a joke, and a soft smile in his eyes.
Shouta, for the first time in nearly two weeks, slept a full night, in the dim light of the hospital with his son.

Here goes nothing, I was wondering if you could possibly write the "slasher reacting to you wanting to be hurt in bed" scenario with Danny Johnson as well 🥺👉👈?
By the way I really like the way you write him, idk if that's a weird thing to say, but yeah, I feel like your interpretation of him is the closest to mine out of all the slasher blogs I follow and obviously all the other interpretations are very fine but also the one closest to mine will obvi be my fav gszezshhshs.
AAA yo 🖤 not to play favorites but danny is the most fun to write outta everyone so absolutely
Tumblr media
DBD Killers' Reaction to: You Wanting to Be Hurt in Bed
Character(s): Danny 'Jed Olsen' Johnson
Tumblr media
Pre-Entity (1993):
"Are you sure?"
His eyes bored into yours. The dark and intense gaze was full of something you couldn't exactly put your finger on. If there was a way to read him, you doubt you'd be able to comprehend the meaning behind those eyes at this moment. Intent, maybe, that would be your best guess. But you'd never come quite close to guessing it correctly, Danny already knew you were sure.
He knew you'd eventually give in like he wanted you to, whether you were conditioned into it or not.
So far, you had let him desecrate you, whether you were aware of that or not. Now, you were a step closer to knowing he had. It was a possibly destructive situation to put yourself in all thing considered, especially willingly.
After all, his initial question wasn't raised just for consent. It was a subtle way of shifting the blame, not that you'd ever catch onto it, not for a long while if everything went according to plan. The tone had, clearly, implied You asked for it, remember that.
Seemingly oblivious or straight up careless, either way worked for him really, you nodded. "If that's okay."
You don't know the half of it, Danny was thinking. Now you were walking on thin ice, or, well, his knife, technically. Eventually, anyway.
That short conversation was all it took and Danny more than delivered.
He was a natural. Years of experience had helped the development of his skills too, of course, yet it was all the same to Danny.
It occurred to you a few times how suspiciously good at 'hurting' he was, but each time it quickly vanished as there was no way or room for you to question his abilities, which was how he preferred it.
"Shut up," Danny told you whenever you couldn't take it. Role-play as it was supposed to be, it felt deadly serious.
If you couldn't comply, he'd simply shut you up himself. A blackout was inevitable, or so it seemed. The worry was in vain as his hand would leave your throat right when your world around would start darkening. It was good, scary good. The pleasure could easily make one desensitized, depraved even, and it did just that.
Danny hadn't expected you to succumb to him as much as you had. It was a surprise when you put your hand over his when it was in the middle of choking you.
His face stayed still, but his grip loosened slightly, his primary instinct told him you were trying to make him stop. Then you gave a weak squeeze.
More.
You wanted more.
And how funny that was.
He wanted to kill you.
And you wanted him to kill you.
Danny nearly chuckled, but even as his chest heaved, it didn't take him off his thrusting game. He didn't necessarily want to end your life now.
It will happen, trust me on that. Maybe at some point, he guessed.
You were more eager than him, which could only be described as sick. Right up his alley.
It made his desire grew.
Danny wanted to push the limits of what he could do to you and what you could take before you simply stopped moving underneath him.
Despite the dark urges that threatened to take over him which got him closer to taking your life during rough intercourse, he was always nothing short of a sweetheart afterwards.
Going as far as to shower with you and help you wash off.
Although, he never seemed to do anything about the bruises. Danny enjoyed seeing them and had to admit that hurting you outside of bed was getting almost too easy. Not to mention more and more enjoyable, until it would reach its peak.
He'd be nice until he would get to break you again and again, until the very last time.
Tumblr media
Post-Entity (????):
As if you had to ask him anyway.
Still, Danny was pleased. You still wanted to feel his knife grazing you while he fucked you, and he'd have to be not himself to refuse that.
He didn't have to put up any acts anymore and being in control of you was ten times better now.
You cleaned his gloves better than he ever could that was for sure. Did he ever tell you how good you looked covered in blood?
Despite how much he enjoyed being in control, which was about most of the time, he nearly lost it seeing you lick his sharp silver weapon.
He no longer told you to shut up. Making you cry was a turn on, actually.
The very first time he noticed a single droplet rolling down your cheek, his tactical knife was almost too quick to catch it. Danny didn't really mean the act to come out as touching, that was obvious when the pointy item scraped down your cheek, tracing the natural route of your future sobs and leaving a vertical cut in its place.
Soon, satisfaction would mix in with the delicious sting as you embraced the pain and pleasure all the same. And never without a fail, Danny provided you both, often at once.

danny phantom, season 3, episodes 1-2 thoughts! I had to split up my season 3 watch awkwardly because the second part of it was too picture heavy and tumblr only wants you to have 10 pictures per post, per the No Fun Allowed Rule. :/ I was planning on just doing 1-6 then 7-13, but, it'll probably be split into 3 posts now... (along with a follow up thoughts post after I finish and think on it for a lil while...)
see prev episode thoughts in this tag <3
-vlad got a new mansion. and the guys in white IMMEDIATELY BREAKS IN AND STARTS SMASHING THE SHIT OUT OF EVERYTHING, DESTROYING HIS NEW MANSION KAJDFHSSKADJKJN. NEVER LAUGHED SO HARD IN MY LIFE. 'the greatest practical joke ever' TUCKER YOU ARE SOOO RIGHT.

MAYBE the naked on the news prank was pushing it because he WAS in a hotel just, minding his own business, but like, he stays bothering danny for no reason when danny is just minding his own business, too! its not right but there IS a sense of vindication here. yknow?
-...'at least now he's channeling his sociopathic lonely bachelor energy into something positive!' this is unironically an insult to actual sociopathic people. 'but he doesnt care about other people!' 'and thats why he'll make a great politician!' BRUTAL. but not untrue? I mean, this is not at ALL surprising. hes a billionaire via cheating and lying, and already a huge Slimeball. So yeah, politician is 100% right.
-but did vlad move to amity park? I might be wrong about this, or illinois laws might be different, but I kinda assumed if you're running for election for mayor in a town, that you had to live within the voting jurisdiction and be registered to vote there. I mean, he's temporarily in a hotel and technically displaced rn (...I thought for sure he'd have more vacation homes...) so I guess there's probably a grace period to find a permanent home in amity park?
-ME, CHEERING DANNY ON EVERY SINGLE TIME HE BEATS VLAD UP, BEING SO PROUD OF MY SON:
Tumblr media
-'hes overshadowing the voters!' why...are you surprised, danny???? election fraud is Nothing. did you forget he stole BILLIONS OF DOLLARS.
-ok the school uniforms are kinda cute tho lol.
-NO TEENAGERS ALLOWED IN THE NEW RESTURAUNT?? WHAT KIND OF BUISSNESS IS THAT,, SO PETTY. tucker straight up tearing off the security camera. king of property destruction
-vlad trying to make life hell. For a 14 year old. who is trying to genuinely apologize and offer a truce (despite all the creepy and fucked up things vlad has done to him and his family). what the fuck can I even say about this. I think i've said several times while watching 'what the fuck is wrong with you', i need a stronger statement.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
-Teens Against McMasters! Fries Not Lies! I want to see vlad get mauled by teens. I want them to start Throwing Rocks.
-vlad saying 'dudes' is the worst thing I've ever heard.
-danny overshadowing the clone was GENIUS AND MAKING HIMSELF LOOK INJURED. SO PROUD OF YOUUUU. USE HIS OWN TACTICS AGAINST HIM. GET HIS ASS.
-frostbite's design is really interesting. ghost...bones... incased in ice?? anyway im so glad danny is getting more hugs :)
Tumblr media
-oh, they basically worship(?) or put danny on a pedestal because he defeated pariah?? well IM happy for him having more ghosts that are friendly to him :) also, sam and tucker's lil snow jackets...super cute.
-more ghost lore!!! THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE IS A GHOST PORTAL. OF COURSE.
-VLAD ACTUALLY DID GET A CAT AWWW KITTY I WUV U KITTY. who he plays chess with...okay, you know what, thats so valid. and actually, pets are usually actually good for mental health, you have a lil guy to care for and they can give u a reason to try ur best so u can provide for them, and they are always good for comfort...good job, vlad!! next go to therapy. 'if anyone asks, you're my sister's cat!' so does he actually HAVE a sister? can she come beat him up
-sam is Right. they shouldve immediately taken the map back to frostbite! but I get it, exploring Can Be Fun
-'carnivorous canyon' in the ghost zone is just mystery flesh pit
-vlad is going to burn a 14 year old girl at the stake. you know, I half expected clockwork to come up and stop this, because they're fucking with time, BUT. nope. this is nbd, I guess.
-well, blood blossoms are terrifying. I know 'ive never eaten a vegetable in my life!' was tucker being hyperbolic, but this kid is going to get so many digestive problems if he doesnt Start Eating Healthier.
-...vlad wanted to go to rome and be a god?? I want to know where he self-inserted himself in their already established pantheon. what did he say he was the god of??
-VLAD SET THE ENTIRETY OF ROME ON FIRE. SO THEY PROBABLY ASSUME GOD OF DESTRUCTION. GOD OF ASSHOLERY.
-how embarrassing, to swordfight a 14 year old and struggle to win. lmfao they keep running vlad off every place he tries to take over
-'if i can destroy the first airplane, man will never fly and I will rule the air!' VLAD. DO YOU THINK. DO YOU THINK THE WRIGHT BROTHERS WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE TO THINK OF AND CONCEPTULIZE FLIGHT???! oh my god he is so dumb. people have always been trying to fly even before that, and even if you destroyed (1) plane its not like no one else could make one??? as if people hadn't already been making hot air balloons since the 1700s??? or coming up with concepts, and studying on how to make them work? starting to think vlad shouldve paid attention in college and not been so fixated on maddie. or, I dunno, read a book in his huge library...(I mean, I dunno what he majored in or studied in college, but it obviously wasnt history...)
-vlad getting his ass kicked by snow dogs and getting shidded on by a pigeon :)
-'hes got more in common with us than he realizes!' DANNY IS A YETI??? CONFIRMED (no,, but I hope that means we'll see more of the far frozen! I like them :)
-what in the world was this episode tho. like..okay?? vlads plans did not make ANY sense to me, like, was I missing something , or. WHY is he so fixated on Ruling all of the sudden...sure he might be power-hungry, feeling powerless can do that and I'm sure the accident/being abandoned made him feel that way, but its always felt like his real end goal was just to steal jack's family out of jealousy and spite, not to like. um,, rule rome I guess. ?? theres No Maddie In Rome, Vlad.

A New Normal
This is my Secret Santa/Christmas Truce gift for @junicane ! I decided to give my first PP-is-canon fic a shot with this ficlet. I hope you enjoy the fluffy new normal after PP ~
Read below the cut (1184 words)
For once, Christmas was perfect.
Well, as perfect as his least favorite holiday could be.
His parents’ squabbling was at an all-time low – the entire Fenton clan wanted their newest family member’s Christmas to be absolutely flawless. And it was.
Now, on December 26th, Danny’s cocoa tasted sweeter than it ever had. He was cozied on the couch, wearing a festive sweater he could never see himself wearing before. Five brand new stockings hung above the fireplace. The old four were worn out from over a decade of use, and Mom thought just one shiny new stocking would make the newest Fenton feel out of place. Danny and Jazz readily agreed to replace the Christmas socks – it’s not like they were particularly attached to the decorations, anyways.
The peace was helped by the fact that Dad finally accepted that Santa was fake when he hadn’t shown up to help stop the Disasteroid. According to him, “Santa wouldn’t have just sat around while the Earth was threatened. He would have used his Christmas magic to save everyone!”
It seemed like ever since the Disasteroid, Dad was even more boisterous and optimistic than normal. It probably helped that he wasn’t trying to destroy him anymore.
“No longer armed and dad-ly,” Danny said to himself, smiling at his pun and taking the last gulp of cocoa.
“What was that, sweetie?” Mom called from the kitchen. The amount of banging coming from that room meant she was either on the edge of a scientific breakthrough or really into the latest recipe.
“Nothing,” Danny called back, getting up and heading toward the kitchen to put his mug in the dishwasher.
He found his mom battling what appeared to be a mound of cookie dough infused with ecto-energy. The mound bore a cartoonish, angry face, with chocolate chips for teeth. She brandished a hand mixer in one hand and a lipstick blaster in the other.
“Mom!” Danny shouted, alarmed.
He shifted into his ghost form and flying at the pile of dough. He pushed into it with an audible squish, turning them both intangible and flying down to the lab. He heard Mom shout as he phased through the floor but couldn’t make out the words. The cookie dough gnawed on his arm ineffectively as they soared toward the portal, squishing chocolate into his suit.
“Hey!” Danny shouted. “Do you have any idea how hard it is to dry clean ghost clothes?”
The cookie dough continued to gnaw, smearing the chocolate further.
Danny flew up to the portal’s controls, using his thumb to unlock the door. He shot the dough a glare.
“You know, it’s ghosts like you that give ghosts like me a bad name.”
He chucked the cookie dough into the Ghost Zone, where it quickly disappeared into the green depths. Danny shifted back into human form and quickly closed the portal door before the ghostly dough came right back inside. Danny dusted his hands off theatrically.
“You’re just lucky I don’t have to worry about that anymore,” he said, thinking to the statues of himself that stood in every country in the world. Nobody could call him evil knowing that he’d saved the Earth from certain destruction.
“Danny!”
Danny turned toward the stairs to find his mom at the bottom, breathing heavily from her sprint downstairs.
“Oh, hey! Don’t worry, I took care of that ghost. After all, there’s nothing I wouldn’t dough for you, Mom.”
Mom sighed. “Sweetie, that was just a new cookie recipe. It would have been fine after I…” She trailed off, pinching the bridge of her nose. “What if someone in the Ghost Zone eats it? They could get salmonella poisoning.”
Danny wrinkled his nose. “Uh, Mom, it’s not like they…”
He paused. That was weird.
Why would I say “it’s not like they can die twice?’ Danny thought.
Everyone knew ghosts weren’t really dead like the movies, just monsters from another dimension. Sure, some seemed like people, but that was just because…
He wracked his brain. He couldn’t remember.
“Danny, sorry. Don’t worry about it. I’m sure it’ll be fine.” Mom turned back toward the door and began to ascend the staircase. “Could you get your sister? It’ll be dinnertime soon.”
“You got it,” Danny called as he transformed, brushing off his odd thoughts. He turned intangible and floated through the ceiling and outside into the snow. He scanned the empty street. He knew she had to be out here somewhere, she was supposed to be shoveling the driveway.
A burst of cold smashed into his ear. Danny fired an ecto-blast in that direction on impulse. Another freezing blast to his face, this time getting in his eyes, blinding him. He tried to wipe the substance out of his eyes, blowing air through his nose to get the freezing moisture out. Snow.
Giggles erupted from in front of him.
Found her.
Danny blindly shot a small ice beam in front of him, enough to sting but not truly injure anyone. His sister let out a scream, overdramatic as always.
“Hey! No fair,” she whined.
Danny laughed and blinked the rest of the snow out of his eyes. “You know, technically, we should be evenly matched. Same genes and all. Extremely fair.”
Dani crossed her arms. “You know I don’t have ice powers yet. Plus, I’m like, two years younger than you! More, depending on how you want to count my age.”
Theatrically, Danny pretended to count on his fingers slowly. He stared at his hand intensely for effect. “Add two, carry the one…”
Another snowball pelted him in the face.
Danny felt his eyes glow bright with intensity. “Oh, it’s so on.”
Dani screamed with joy and turned invisible, but the speed of her flight sent a trail of snow puffing up from the ground and into the air behind her. Danny used his ice powers to conjure a snowball in his hand, a perfect sphere. He tracked her until she got close, then unleashed the ball of snow. The ball exploded mid-air, chunks of frost hovering on Dani’s invisible form.
“No ice powers!” Dani shouted in mock-anger as she turned visible once again. But her words had no bite, and a smile danced on her lips.
Suddenly, she pulled her arm from behind her back and launched another snowball at him, smacking him in the chest.
Danny blinked a few times, surprised. “When did you even have the time to make that?”
Dani smiled triumphantly and crossed her arms. “I can’t just give you my strategy like that, cuz.”
He let out a laugh. Despite the cold, the joy of goofing around with Dani warmed him from the inside out. He reflected (not for the first time that Christmas season) on how happy he was that she could spend the holidays with her family instead of alone in the Ghost Zone.
Danny held up him hands in defeat, grinning. “Alright, alright. You win this round. But after dinner, I better see you out here for round 2.”
For once, Christmas was perfect.
Because for once, their entire family was together.

15 Badass Movies for a Fun Time at Home or with Friends
There is a buzz in the air as COVID-19 vaccines are rolling out and the hope of having a movie night with friends is again becoming a reality. Watching alone isn’t as fun because I want to talk to somebody about what I have just seen. A full theater does not agree with my introvert nature because somebody screaming or laughing or talking on their phone will ruin it for me. Watching with a fellow cinephile or two is perfect. But what to watch first? People have been stuck inside, so fantasy and alternative worlds have been overly popular. All I do is talk over zoom for a living. I think what I need most right now is a movie about realistic people with realistic skills that go into a situation and just wreck house. I need a badass movie. What is this “badass” movie you might say? Well, here are some basic criteria: 1) There must be a tough lead character who kicks butt while spouting one liners and doesn’t need superhuman powers (high levels of peak skill with speed, aim, or strength is OK if they are plausible in the real world), 2) most of the characters (good and bad) must be likable, admirable or at least memorable, 3) the lead must face and defeat overwhelming odds against them, and 4) extra points for memorable one liners. Also, I am only dealing with human protagonists (sorry Terminator), but slightly superhuman opposition is acceptable. This list is by no means exhaustive, it is just an example of some badass movies. So in no particular order:
Tumblr media
1) Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
To start off the list, I want to mention the most well known American badass. Indiana Jones is a smart guy with a gun and a whip. He is rugged and punches guys in the face. He has weaknesses but works through them to get the job done. Harrison Ford was in his early 40s for this role and had this tough-as-nails and seen the world kind of feel while still being young enough to fight hand to hand. Any of the first three films featuring Indiana Jones would work here, but this is the original and it started the fun. Easy to watch. Easy to cheer for. Great movie. You can’t really go wrong with any age or group with this one.
Tumblr media
2) 13 Assassins (2010)
This movie is extremely badass but not for everyone. This is one of the goriest films I have ever seen as 13 warriors kill off a couple of hundred soldiers and the evil leader that they guard. The movie was directed by Japanese extreme horror icon Takashi Miike if that means anything to you (hey made Audition and Ichi the Killer). The movie has gallons of blood, but also an amazing story of redemption and honor. There are tons of scenes of a single warrior taking on dozens of soldiers and managing to overcome. Not for everyone, but still very much a badass movie.
Tumblr media
3) The Raid (2011)
This is an Indonesian action thriller with the word action in bold. The film is directed by Gareth Evans and stars Iko Uwais as part of a small police force that tries to take down an old building that houses a drug lord and his violent gang. It has a lot of what I like in badass movies: one-on-one fights between the lead and almost superhuman villains, long well-choreographed scenes, a banging soundtrack, ridiculous weapons, and ridiculous gore. The fight scenes in tight places and the use of the environment for weaponry is amazing and the sound design makes sure you can feel every punch. The lead character should have no chance, but he makes up for it with skill and being a pure badass. This movie is one of the few that I would describe as having non-stop action.
Tumblr media
4) Jon Wick (2014)
When did Keanu Reeves become so cool? I grew up with him being part of the Bill and Ted duo. He decides to learn martial arts and play a god-like being in the Matrix movies and then becomes a one man wrecking crew? I guess he is a badass because he does it so well. Keanu plays a retired hitman who is wronged and decides to go back to work for vengeance. He just won’t stop coming and seems to constantly survive out of pure hatred alone. There are 3 films in the series and any one of them will impress. Pure fun too watch.
Tumblr media
5) Casino Royale (2006)
When I was asking around, there were many people who thought that James Bond was the ultimate badass. I disagree in that many of the older films show Bond as overconfident with the assistance of many people. In fact, Q is more of a badass in many ways than James Bond. However, when the series was taken back to its roots with the last book that had not been made into a serious film and made darker, it reached badass levels. From the parkour chase to a poisoning to an extreme torture scene, this was not like any James Bond movie before it. Roger Craig plays a much colder lead who gives no quarter, much more like what the greatest secret agent would have to be. Heavy on violence but light on gore, this film is more for all audiences than other films on this list.
Tumblr media
6) Desperado (1995)
What makes this movie is not all about Antonio Banderas and Selma Hayek. It is that every other character is memorable and badass as well. The street standoff with Bucho’s men versus El Mariachi, Quino, and Campo is iconic. El Mariachi murders everyone in a bar with precise skill. The rogue assassin Navajas with all the knives played by Danny Trejo. Nothing but extreme shoot outs and fight scenes with a ridiculous variety of guns and explosives. I think what makes this movie so amazing is that all these amazing assassins are incognito and, when they suddenly produce an arsenal out of nowhere, it is always a pleasant surprise. Quino and Campo are amazing when they bring their guitars.
Tumblr media
7) Pulp Fiction (1994)
Truly the role that made Samuel L. Jackson into the ultimate badass. He and his partner Vincent are hitman that keep running into the worst situations. The thing about the film is that everybody is so cool. The characters are cool, the music is cool, the dialogue is cool, hell even the diner featured in the movie is cool. The movie only spans a couple of days (in completely separate segments shown out of order) but packs in 7 distinct situations that are all berserk. From the mind of Quentin Tarantino, this movie is dripping with the best characters traveling through the best story. Highly recommend.
Tumblr media
8) Leon: The Professional (1994)
Also known simply as The Professional in the U.S., this film features the debut of Natalie Portman. It is directed by Luc Besson at his best period, right between La Femme Nakita and The Fifth Element. The lead is actually a quiet hitman who reluctantly takes a little 12-year-old girl on as an apprentice to become a paid assassin. Her parents were killed by a corrupt cop and she wants Leon to help her exact revenge. He is an absolute badass and somewhat of a caring surrogate father to the girl. Unlike a lot of the films on this list, the premise is not simply kicking butt in a bad situation. There is serious character growth. Apparently you can be a caring parent and a cold-blooded murderer...and that is badass.
Tumblr media
9) Kill Bill (2003)
Being a badass is not exclusive to men and The Bride is a prime example of this. She survives a shot to the head, kills deadly assassins, slaughters a gang, and takes on a crazy school girl bodyguard. She is tougher then any lead I can think of and she has the bad attitude and sense of vengeance that makes for a badass. Combine this with the soundtrack and beautiful cinematography associated with director Quentin Tarantino and you have a beautifully violent movie in which the hits keep coming. Even on this list, the fight scene between the bride and Gogo Yubari is insane. Also note the nod to Bruce Lee with the bright yellow motorcycle suit. Beautifully badass film.
Tumblr media
10) Aliens (1986)
In nature, there are few things more dangerous than a mother protecting their young. A mother will fight you to the death and make sure that, at the very least, you won’t be able to go after her kids. Now imagine an alien planet covered with hostile beings created in the mind of James Cameron and Stan Winston and you have a setting made to create a real badass. In the beginning, Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is just desperate to survive and barely knows how to use a weapon. She meets a little survivor named Newt and then has a real reason to become aggressive. She and a group of marines fight through a station filled with super destructive xenomorph aliens made straight from nightmares to save this kid. The transformation is truly amazing and culminates in a mech suit versus a giant queen alien and it is extremely badass.
Tumblr media
11) Army of Darkness (1992)
Far and away the funniest movie on this list, this is the third film stemming from Evil Dead and again stars Bruce Campbell taking on the deadites that were raised by reading from the Necronomicon. The opposition is the undead evil that faces the world which makes the violence very unrealistic. This was early work from Sam Raimi and features a variety of different shots done to the extreme. What really makes this film stand out is how Bruce Campbell is amazing at delivering a one liner. His classic quips have been used as fun Easter eggs in video games like Duke Nukem and World of Warcraft for decades. The quintessential horror comedy and a perfect example of a badass.
Tumblr media
12) Die Hard (1988)
Apparently, I am a big fan of single characters that need to work their way through a building of villains using mostly intelligence and the element of surprise. Throw in some one liners and I am all for it. That is exactly what this is with Bruce Willis crawling barefoot around a 40 story building and fighting off a gang of villains. The movie also has Alan Rickman as the main bad guy and he is chewing the scenery. This is a great example of being a badass, but it is too bad that the follow up sequels were so poor. Definitely stick to the original and let the rest pass by.
Tumblr media
13) The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly (1966)
An OG of the badass movie genre, this is some of the best of Sergio Leone and the spaghetti western. Instead of one badass, this movie has three different leads that are all amazing. You have the good, Clint Eastwood, who is an amazing shot and a heart of gold under a rough exterior. You have the bad, Lee Van Cleef, playing an conniving assassin that will kill anyone that he doesn’t have a use for. Finally, you have the ugly, Eli Wallach, as a desert rat that will do anything to survive. They all gain information about a gold stash and need to work together to get it, but this creates a vortex of cheating, undercutting, and straight up murder. Clint Eastwood is more of the classic badass with his cigar, hat, and poncho, It is an iconic look on an iconic character in an iconic movie. That is what I call badass.
Tumblr media
14) Ong-Bak (2003)
This less of a badass movie and more houses some of the most amazingly badass fight scenes that can only be described as badass. This movie introduced the great Tony Jaa to the western world and showed the high flying nature of Thai boxing and Muay Thai in general. The main character is entered into a street fighting tournament and the moves include a flying double knee drop and a full splits kick. If the whole movie was the tournament, it would be the best movie that ever existed. The variety of opponents makes the fighting even better and the cinematography is top notch. Tony Jaa is truly badass in this film.
Tumblr media
15) Dredd (2012)
Not the crappy version with Stallone, this movie is seriously badass. It features Karl Urban who is helmeted for the entire film (as Dredd would be) taking on a 200 story mega slum filled with residents that want to shoot him dead. There is a drug dealer high up in the building and she locks down the entire compound with instructions to kill Dredd, who only has his rookie partner to help. He takes on random resident mobs, groups of gang members, and even a trio of mini guns that have bullets that can rip through walls. He has a smart gun with a bunch of ammo that he uses judiciously to kill everybody. This movie was seriously underrated since it had not been that long since the garbage Judge Dredd came out in 1995. The 2012 is a far superior movie, being much more violent and dark instead of having Rob Schneider as the comedy relief (not badass).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know there will be a lot of opinions about what makes a badass film and what movies i didn’t add. Feel free to add your own movies or critique my choices. I will stand by my choices, however, and recommend any of these films for a night of cheers and badass action.

Weathering the Storm
Dannymay2020 day 23: Lightning (AO3)
It was odd to see Danny so clearly aggravated when not in class, shoulders hunched and arms crossed as if the world has personally offended him this morning. “I mean it, when I find Johnny I’m shoving his Shadow down his throat for this.”
“It’s just bad luck Danny, it can’t be that much trouble,” Tucker didn’t seem all that concerned about his mood, and it stuck the teacher as rather odd. The Fenton boy was a chronic work dodger and consistently late, but threatening people by name was new. He had dismissed the boy’s brush with destructive tendencies as a one off thing as the behaviour had not continued, but perhaps he had been too hasty. Even if the threat was ultimately nonsensical, the vehemence had sounded quite real.
The boy scowled at his friend, “I got struck by lig-” he broke off mid sentence as his eyes caught sight of Mr. Lancer. Was he afraid that his teacher was overhearing him? He had dropped his arms and somehow slouched more, doing his best to be as small and unnoticeable as possible. Had he done something to cause such fear in his student? He could think of a few incidents that would make the boy dislike him, certainly, but not fear him.
“Hi Mr. Lancer!” Tucker showed no such hesitation, moving as if to block his blue eyed friend from his sightline. “The report isn’t due until next Monday, right?”
“That’s correct Mr. Foley. If you have it completed by Friday I’d be happy to suggest improvements you could make over the weekend,” he answered, not that the boy would do that. He’d extended the offer several times, and the little trio didn’t seem all that interested in actually using it.
“Thanks, just had to check!”
Tucker had been acting as a distraction almost, seeing as Sam and Danny had slunk away as he’d taken up most of Mr. Lancer’s attention. It was odd. Did they really think they had to go to such lengths? Danny’s words had been a little concerning, but not something to think he’d be punished over. He would simply need to keep an eye on them today, if he was unintentionally causing fear he had a duty to correct that. The boy had enough trouble learning as it was.
Mr. Fenton was incredibly jumpy. Usually he’d slump at his desk to the point one could argue the lad did not even possess a spine. Today he seemed almost hyper alert, eyes darting and fingers constantly fiddling with a pencil or paper as the heavy rain battered against the windows. Yet whatever he was on such high alert for, it wasn’t what they were discussing, his answers just as lost and confused as they were when he was half asleep. He was starting to worry it was indeed his presence getting the child so distressed until a booming crack of thunder followed by a blinding flash of lightning from the storm outside painted a very different picture.
He’d practically slammed his head into his desk, hands over his head while looking as stiff as a board. Even when the moment passed the black haired boy was slow to uncurl, only doing so fully after getting some sort of affirmative nod from Tucker or Sam.
When had he gotten such a strong fear of thunderstorms? The last time such a storm had come to Amity Park he had been perfectly fine. Or at least, had not reacted this strongly. If he was struggling to focus because of the storm, he had to do something to help.
“Mr. Fenton, a word please?” he said as Danny attempted to slide out the door at the end of class.
“Yes?” his teeth were gritted, the rest of his body language still reading as terribly stiff, almost like an over-tightened string.
He waited a moment before responding, not wanting to embarrass him by having other students overhear the question. “Is it the sound or the light that bothers you?” Danny wasn’t one to answer questions at the best of times, so being direct was an unfortunate consequence.
“The-what?” His brow furrowed, fingers clenching around the backpack more tightly. He did seem genuinely confused, but it could just be his teenaged pride not wanting to admit he had a phobia.
“I do not wish to embarrass you Mr. Fenton, but your reactions to the thunderstorm outside have been rather noticeable,” the boy squirmed a little on the spot, eyes darting at the door as if wondering if he could make a run for it, “Would studying in a room without windows help with that?”
“I’m not afraid of thunderstorms.” he looked away, hand clutching at his shoulder. The rolling rumble of thunder warning that another bolt was coming made the boy visibly flinch, turning and darting out of the room without being dismissed.
He couldn’t force him to take offered help, but couldn’t understand who Danny thought he was fooling. People who were safely indoors did not usually run from thunderclaps. If he thought his friends would be more forthcoming he would consult with them, but they had proven to be just as stubborn. Still, there was plenty of school day left. The boy might change his mind.
-
“Why does he have to pay attention to me today of all days?” The half ghost moaned, face buried in his palms, lunch untouched.
“I told you not to break his motorcycle.”
“I’m going to shove it in a thermos and bury it next time,” his eyes flared a brilliant green, a helpful elbow from Tucker making him cover his face again.
“Is the bad luck making the flare ups worse?” Sam frowned at the muffled green light, eyes watching the rest of the noisy cafeteria.
“Sorta?” Danny managed to look up, returning to rubbing at his shoulder. “I got hit by lightning on the way here.”
Tucker winced in sympathy. “Owch.”
“Three times.”
“I’d wonder how you survived that but this is you we’re talking about.” Sam still looked concerned, fiddling with a wristband.
“My ectoplasm just loves it apparently. I don’t think I’ve been this wide awake in months,” he returned to bouncing his leg up and down, as if unable to keep still.
“You gonna eat that?”
He shook his head. “I’m not even close to hungry, go nuts.”
Tucker helped himself to the untouched meal “You feeling okay though? That still had to hurt.”
“Other than feeling like I’ve been chugging coffee all day, yeah.”
“Which is why you keep rubbing at your shoulder. Because you feel fine.” Sam scowled as the half ghost looked at the ceiling.
“I do, really. I can just. Feel the lightning coming and it throbs a bit. It’s more annoying than anything.”
“Creepy. The scars start showing up again?” Tucker leaned closer, eyes narrowing at his friend’s neck.
Danny snorted, batting his friend away. “They’re not green at least. Yet.”
“Maybe you should just put the sweater on now then? Unless you want someone to notice you have scars on your arms that weren’t there this morning.”
“It’s so hot in that thing! It’s in my backpack, don’t worry about it.” he stopped mid shrug, wincing seconds before a flash of lighting.
“Hair.”
The now white haired boy ducked down, muttering crossly as he fumbled with his bag.
“Good thing no one pays attention to the loser squad.” Tucker managed to keep back a laugh by confirming absolutely no one had noticed his friend's sudden dye job.
“No kidding.” Danny groused, reappearing with sweater in hand, hair back to it’s natural black. “If this keeps up I’m going to start falling through things again.”
Sam bit her lip. “Maybe you should just skip?”
“And go where? Outside and get struck some more? No thanks. With my luck I’d get mode locked or something.”
“You could just stay invisible.”
The hybrid considered it, but shook his head. “If I’m stuck here I might as well get credit for it.”
“Well if you start glowing, I don’t have any idea why,” Sam warned, earning a small chuckle from the both of them.
-
Danny’s anxious behaviour only seemed to intensify throughout the day. He stuck close to his two friends as usual, but was never completely still, always moving or jiggling, eyes always darting around as if he had to stay alert from an unknown threat. Just watching him was exhausting. For someone who insisted he was not frightened, he was grabbing on to Sam or Tucker with surprising regularity. The two of them didn’t seem to mind, almost as if they were used to this sort of thing. Strange. By the end of the day the boy was bundled up in some oversized sweater, which only made him look even more pale and stressed out. Perhaps he could suggest private study time for days like this to Jazz, he might listen to his elder sister.
Well, he probably wouldn’t, but not doing anything was giving him that terrible twisting guilt gut that did not care if he couldn’t force help upon people who refused it. He would suggest it tomorrow if this behaviour continued. The final bell was practically a blessing, the school quieting as teacher and student alike filed out into the dreadful weather, colourful umbrellas giving a small reprieve from all the grey. Usually he had to stay longer because of a detention, but the lousy weather seemed to curb any desire to skip out on class. Small blessings. With a folder snugly underarm and umbrella in hand he headed towards the exit closest to his car and froze.
Danny was still here? He could barely make the boy stay in class when it was in session, and here he was lurking near the exit like some sort of frightened cat.
“Mr. Fenton?”
The boy lept in surprise, back slamming against the wall as if he had to escape quickly. Yet he didn’t seem to be holding anything to cause trouble with. Just himself, the beat up backpack, and the sweater he was doing his best to melt into. “Mr. Lancer?” his voice was almost a squeak.
“Are you sure you’re alright? I notice you don’t have an umbrella.” Perhaps sticking to facts and not suggesting the boy was scared could convince him to take some help this time. He practically looked to be on the verge of a panic attack.
“Oh! Yeah! Forgot it, I’m fine.” he sputtered, but the speed of his breathing slowed. He’d been that startled?
“I have a spare if you need it. Do you plan to walk home?”
The pale boy squirmed under his gaze, eyes darting behind him occasionally. “I’m fine. Jazz can give me a ride.”
The teacher looked out the window and frowned. “I don’t see her car Mr. Fenton. Did you forget to ask her to wait?”
He swallowed, apparently not expecting to be caught in his lie. “Must have. It’s okay, she’ll come back.”
Lancer crossed his arms, trying not to sigh. Why did teenagers insist on being so bullheaded? “There’s no reason to force her to come back. I’ll give you a lift.”
Danny looked as if he’d offered to chop his head off rather than provide a dry way home. “No it’s okay! Thanks though. I’m good.”
“Are you too afraid to go outside right now?” The question was blunt, but it was only the two of them, and he wasn’t going to leave a terrified boy alone in a darkened school because he said he was ‘okay’.
“I’m not afraid!” he insisted, grabbing at his shoulder yet again. A tell to his lies? “Really, I’m fine and she’s already coming.”
“Then I suppose I’ll wait with you until she arrives.”
His wince was expected. “Y-you don’t need to do that.”
“Oh but I do Mr. Fenton. I will not leave a student unattended after hours, making sure you leave safely is in my job description.” That, and keeping him from causing trouble in the school unobserved was also part of the job.
“Could you like. Not do your job then? Please?” he slumped at Lancer’s significant stare. “Didn’t think so.”
“Do you plan to wait until the storm passes? It could go on all night Mr. Fenton.” To be so afraid as to not even walk to where a car would be waiting was incredibly severe, and it wasn’t sitting quite right with him. He almost seemed more afraid of being observed than anything. Did his parents discourage showing any kind of fear? No, everyone knew the boy was afraid of ghosts, so it didn’t add up.
“No. I’m just waiting for you to mind your own business.” he muttered into his sweater, arms crossed in his own little act of defiance.
“Unfortunately for you, your well being is my business while you’re here.”
“Unless Dash is involved, then I’m invisible.”
He could have sworn the boy’s eyes changed for a moment there, amplifying the bitterness in the child’s tone. “I was under the impression he had stopped, as you haven’t brought it up since.”
That got a laugh, though his eyes remained icy. “Nope.”
Too many students and not enough eyes. He couldn’t know everything, though it would explain why he wouldn’t be more open, if he was under the impression he would be ignored. “You can tell me about it now, and I can look into it.”
“No thanks.” he rubbed at the same shoulder, brow creased in what looked to be pain.
Always rejecting help. Well, he’d at least make sure he wasn’t alone until he chose to leave.
It was a good thing he had, too. The latest flash of lighting prompted a grunt from the teenager, who appeared to have tripped over his own feet. So badly that he couldn’t even see the foot that must have twisted, he might have broken something. He managed to catch him before he hit the floor, wondering how the boy felt so cold even when bundled up in the sweater. “‘The Metamorphosis’ Mr Fenton, are you alright?”
“I’m fine!” he squirmed out of his teacher’s outstretched arms, standing easily on a foot he could have sworn must have twisted too far to be uninjured. “I just tripped, sheesh!”
Yet in his speed to be on his own to feet the sweater had shifted, granting Lancer a glimpse of his arms. Angry green scars that seemed to glow with their own light made the boy’s fear of lightning suddenly very understandable.
After all, they knew there had been an accident, but not what it had entailed.
“You were electrocuted, Mr Fenton?”
The boy gulped, hastily hiding the scars as if it was some sort of dirty secret. “I’m fine, really.”
“You don’t have to be fine. ‘Great Expectations’ Danny, it is perfectly understandable to be frightened if you had a serious accident involving electricity.”
The boy blinked at him. “What. You-you’re not weirded out?”
Was he embarrassed because the scars were green? Honestly, teenagers. “I assume whatever accident you were in involved your family’s inventions. Considering I see ghosts every other day, ghostly electricity scars seem almost quaint, Mr Fenton.” Sure, he did question how it had happened, and had some serious concerns about his family’s safety practices, but it was more important to let him know he would not judge him over this little affliction. “I suppose they only show up in weather like this?”
“Mmhm. It’s no big deal, really.”
No big deal he says, while acting like a jackrabbit all day. “It does make your hesitation to go out with lightning striking understandable. However, it would be better if we could get you home. Would bringing the car closer help?”
The boy groaned again, rubbing at his forehead. “Sure. I guess.”
“I’ll be right back then.”
Which he was, pulling the car right to the curb was easy enough. Yet Danny had up and vanished. He probably should have expected that, the boy was incredibly slippery when he wanted to be. He hadn’t spotted him leaving, yet he could spot muddy footprints being washed away by the unyielding rain. Where had he snuck off to? Further pondering was lost to the sound of someone yelling in pain, and it felt uncomfortably familiar. The voice’s owner couldn’t be far, so he gripped his umbrella tight and went to check it out.
“Four times? Whoever said lighting doesn’t strike twice is a dirty liar, and I hate them.” Phantom was muttering furiously at the ground, sparks cracking around his white aura. “Stupid Shadow.”
Well, the ghost was a teenager. At least he seemed to be more annoyed than seriously hurt, the scream had been rather unpleasant. Probably best to leave the ghost alone. He seemed nice enough, but the constant warning from the Fentons did make one a bit wary. If his help was just an act, being alone with him was probably not the safest thing in the world. Yet as the ghost took flight something about him struck him as oddly familiar. Had there been glowing green scars on the ghost’s neck? No, the ghost was always glowing, and the idea was absurd. He must have been mistaken.

So, I've seen you reblogging some random My Hero Academia fanart lately, and I was wondering how much of it you know? Why? Because I'm curious if you have any idea about a possible crossover with Danny Phantom. (it's surprising how well DP can be crossover-ed with basically EVERYTHING and still make sense...)
I have seen the show. I...think?...I’m caught up on the show. I have not read a word of the manga.
For a crossover with DP, I like the idea of Danny falling into their world rather than the other way around; it’s just easier, even if you toss in a time travel/dimension kind of quirk thing gone wrong and rely on Clockwork to get them home again. Me, I’d do this one of two ways, depending on whether or not Danny ever has a chance of going home again. Or, perhaps more accurately, how slim that chance is, because he’d still have a chance.
Option 1: Danny’s stuck in their world. Forever. Or near enough. Because he was trapped in a thermos for years, longer than anyone would expect him to be alive, and his time doesn’t exist, it’s past, it’s gone, because it hasn’t just been a day, it hasn’t just been a month, not even a year, and every human he ever knew and loved is gone. He couldn’t even find his family if he tried. It’s been too long, the world’s changed, and there are these things called quirks now, and he just.... He holds onto the faint hope that Clockwork can get him back home, that Clockwork will agree to let him go back home, that this can just be a few extra days or weeks or whatever lived in his life but otherwise it’s fine and like he was never anywhere else, but the stable portals he knew are gone, he doesn’t know how to find and can’t create the natural ones, and ghosts like Wulf and Cujo wouldn’t even know he was back.
He can’t remember very well how he got into this mess. Maybe Vlad caught him and buried him on the other side of the world; maybe Vlad tossed him into the Ghost Zone, never really expecting Danny to get out. Everything is muddled, confused, coming back in pieces, and not like a moment frozen in time where he gets out and immediately remembers everything. It’s not like it normally is. But maybe it’s because he wasn’t released like he normally is, since he didn’t get out until the thermos degraded to the point that there was a hole he could slip through. Maybe it’s just because he was in there too long. He...he doesn’t know.
Option 2: AKA my old standby for DP crossovers to worlds that aren’t enough like his own, a door or portal in the Ghost Zone. Maybe Danny meant to go through, whether he was exploring or running from something with five sets of teeth that was faster than it had any right to be, or maybe it popped up in front of him and he was through before he could change course. He doesn’t have more hope of getting home in this scenario, exactly, but he’d be more hopeful, because this obviously isn’t the same world, it can’t be, so he can get back and get home and it’ll all be fine.
In both cases, you can ignore the language barrier--write it off as a ghostly ability Danny didn’t realize he had, though that logic fails a bit when Tucker understands Wulf the best, or maybe Danny hearing it for years while in the thermos and just sort of absorbing it--through osmosis, if you like. But if you acknowledge it. If you accept the fact that Danny suddenly finds himself in a world where he can’t speak the language, can’t read or understand or even be sure he recognizes the language--because what is that, Chinese, Japanese, Korean? He has no idea. It might not even be any of those if it’s been how many years since, what with evolution of language. He just knows he doesn’t know the alphabet at all--then you can easily force other characters to interact with him once he gets in trouble (as will happen; it’s Danny) and maybe bring in a convenient universal translator hero support prototype, initially designed to help heroes better communicate with victims who don’t speak the same tongue(s) with plans for further development outside of heroing if it’s successful. Such a device would also give Danny a convenient excuse for when he says something that receives blank stares, as he can pretend it glitched.
Now. Danny will be trying to get home. That might be his entire thing--that and potentially acceptance that he can’t go home, depending on how things pan out. If he came through a portal/doorway, then he might be keeping an ear to the ground to find out why if there’s some reason why he’s here, but if he was just stuck in a thermos, he’s going to assume he got out because of pure dumb luck/erosion and focus most of his energy on finding a way into the Ghost Zone, which may or may not come back to bite him later. Especially if he didn’t just get out by chance or is here for a reason and doesn’t know enough to understand what that reason is.
The obvious thing to consider is how quickly Danny realizes these guys only have one ‘quirk’, even if they can use it in multiple ways. If he gets any inkling at all from them that having more than one quirk is odd and potentially suspicious, you can bet he’d try to hide it. He’s used to that. He’s had to hide from so many people. He can hide from these people, too. Or at least try his best. Me and my penchant for misunderstandings would obviously choose to have him hide his multiple abilities and not just, y’know, tell or show them straight away.
I mean.
Say they saw Phantom before they ever saw Fenton. Flying. Phasing. Shooting ectoblasts. That’s not normal.
And if Danny saw something happen and jumped in to help without entirely understanding the situation? He might try to take down both heroes and bad guys because geez, those people almost got crushed when that building fell, and another bystander nearly got flambéed, and he knows he’s destructive when he’s trying to save people, but still. Giant Lady is a pretty good distraction if you need a distraction, and she could get away from the good guys fast enough, and that guy just walked through a brick wall, so there’s a good chance he’s overshadowed even if Danny’s too far away for his ghost sense to go off, and--
Point is, they (some) might mistakenly peg Phantom as a villain, at least until the next fight where they have time to talk. Danny, who very definitely Not Going Ghost until he figures out what the heck is going on, is found in the aftermath and assumed to be a victim--a tourist, probably, since they can’t understand him and he can’t understand them--and probably picks an ability to call a ‘quirk’ even if pretending to be quirkless would be smarter because he’s not convinced he might not do something almost on instinct, and then where would that get him?
Danny does not overhear the speculation that perhaps this Phantom is after him. He does not overhear the concern of the UA students who witnessed the fight. He does not know how many strings were pulled to get him released from the hospital--where he Very Obviously does Not want to be, but he can write off weird abnormalities as, say, part of his Ice Quirk powers; after all, sneaking away probably won’t do him any favours, even if he has to get out of there before they realize exactly how fast he’s healing--or how difficult it was to get him released into the protective custody of the good people at UA (or, more specifically, those who rallied for him to get the opportunity). Because he’s wary and spooked and confused but still ready to fight, and they can see that, and they want to help him. They’re not even sure how much training he’s had with his quirk, since even after extensive questioning and a subsequent exhaustive search, they can’t find any record of a hero named Frostbite.
They can’t even find a record of Daniel Fenton. Not someone with an Ice Quirk who matches his description, anyway.
Which makes some people wary, even when others are eagerly including him, because what if he’s a plant, a spy, otherwise not on their side even if he’s not working with any known villains, and--
Hogwash. Poppycock. Pick your old-fashioned word for it, but that’s pretty much how your thinking is going, someone else would say. Because the kid’s got a good heart, and anyone can see that. He wants to help people. He does, even when it hurts him. He’s got the heart of a hero.
With what they’ve seen of him, it’s enough to quiet the mutterings.
Until the day Danny forgets himself and displays another Quirk in a way that can’t be explained, especially in light of all the other incidents that were.

Another Night hidden within the Stars
(GN)yokai cop x Dastardly Danny
Hey yall! I've had the wonderful opportunity to collab with @greaser-wolf and man has it been a wonderful experience! You are truly a lovely person and thank you again for the drawing!! This was super fun to write, with Danny and how he talks he's a challenge that I loved taking on. Hope you all enjoy!!
This story is gender neutral, but with it being fancy I will be putting tux/dress so then you, the reader, can wear whatever you want on your date with Danny ( also suspenders will be in the tux category and dress suits will still be in dress, hopefully that is okay with everyone because I do want to put detail into your outfit).
⚠️WARNING⚠️: There are cuss words and also mention of sexual content along with yearning and making out!!!
Word Vocabulary:
FC- favorite color
Take a powder- Get lost or lay off
Crumb-A jerk, no fun
Eager Beaver- Someone who excited about something
Cut a rug- Dance with me
Dead Hopper- A bad dancer
Jive dancer- A talented dancer
You could feel yourself slowly growing impatient as you waited outside of the restaurant, your foot tapping against the concrete with a jittery rhythm. Dastardly Danny was never the late type, he would make the joke of being fashionably late whenever he and the rest of his crew had a runin with trouble, but you knew by now that he would make sure his schedule was clear the days you would meet up. Especially after the time he and his friends literally rode to the place you were meeting up in a snail cop car, a sheepish smile curling against his mouth.
You remember the awful paperwork for that one.
The night of the Hidden City glistened around you as you leaned against the building, your hands rubbing up against your arms to create some friction of warmth. Even with the outfit you had on, the nights were slowly getting chilly due to the change of seasons above.
The bag you held against your side started to vibrate and for a second you thought it was going to be that purple wearing rat, telling you that something had happened or that he was going to be fashionably late, but it was actually your boss from the police station. You cleared your throat before you clicked on the answer button.
“Yes, chief?”
“Hello Y/N, I was seeing if you would be free tonight to work an extra shift?”
You balled your empty hand into a fist as you jumped from your spot against the building, your eyes glaring to the side as if you could see your boss there, looming over you with a smile that practically said: “ If you don’t say yes to this then I will give you paperwork that is stacked so high that the humans above can see it.”
You let out a breathy sigh as you explained, “I’m sorry, chief, but I have plans tonight and I really cannot cancel them.” You turned on your heel so that your shoulder was leaning against the wall instead of your back.
You could hear the anger and frustration behind his voice, “Are you sure that whatever is so important cannot be rescheduled?”
“No, it cannot.”
You almost jumped right out of your body as a voice behind you answered for you. Your face started to blush against the amber lights of the restaurant as Danny was now leaning his head against your shoulder, a wicked grin on his face as he continued to talk.
“Sorry there, chief, but being a cop can be a real pain in the neck, so take a powder and let me and the dame have our night, alright?”
You opened your mouth to apologize to your boss, to say that your boyfriend had just had a little too much to drink and was now saying whatever came to mind, but the tall rat’s hot breath against your neck made you stiff as a board. You swallowed and suddenly you felt parched as Danny took the phone from your hand and hung up on the chief of police and placed the phone back into your bag.
“Ya know you can get lockjaw if ya keep that mouth open for too long,” he chirped as he took your hand into his.
“You’re….You’re late,” you stammered out, your mind foggy with the possible fear of losing your job and also how Danny’s suit was cleaner and seemed to cling to his body tighter than before.
He bent himself over and kissed your hand as he looked up at you with hooded eyes.
“Actually, love, I still have about two minutes. Would ya like me to walk away and come back and get ya flustered all over again?”
“Oh hush up, you could’ve gotten me fired and he could've figured out your voice,” you commented, your heart almost futtering out of your chest as his lips met your hand. Always so formal, strange how a gentleman could also be a thief.
Danny rolled his eyes and let out a ‘tch’ sound as he took in the sight of you. Your outfit was glistening against the fallen lights of the town, the color bringing out the color in your eyes. Danny was surprised that he still had his balance as he took a step back. No matter how many times he lays his eyes on you, you can always somehow leave him breathless.
He intertwined his arm with yours as he chuckled out, “Yer boss is a bloody crumb, darling, and if he could recognize my’ voice, toots, then there would be more criminals in yer holding cells.”
“You know I can just turn you three in and get that raise, right?”
“Ah but you would never do that to us, especially me, sweetheart,” he purred as took your chin gently into his hand and kissed you. All the stress that had built up within your body for the past few days melted away as he pulled you in closer to the kiss, your knees almost going weak as you felt him smile against your lips. His hand was careful against your cheek, as if his destructive and dangerous life would break you, even with you being a cop. His whiskers tickled your face and you couldn’t help but giggle into the kiss, causing Danny to bring you closer to him at the sound of your happiness.
After the kiss, he planted one against your cheek and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear.
“You look ravishing tonight, ” He purred as he led you over to the door, his arm already extending it to open it for you.
You let out a sigh as you pushed the fabric you were wearing down to wash out the wrinkles.
“You don’t think it’s too much?” You asked as Danny told the hostess the fake name he placed for the dinner reservation. As the hostess turned around to grab a few menus, Danny let go of your arm and ever so slowly danced his hand from the nap of your neck, down your spine until it planted itself onto your tailbone as he whispered into your ear, “Oh sweetheart, if we weren’t in this restaurant, I know exactly what I would be having for dinner instead.”
He smirked as a pretty shade of red crossed your face and even tinted the edge of your ears as the hostess turned back around and told you both to follow her. Danny had to practically drag you since your mind was nothing but a haze of embarrassment and desire.
The tall rat yokai pulled your chair for you and you thanked him as he pushed you closer to the table and took a seat himself.
You took in the sight of the restaurant with a look of awe. The eating house was colored with wine and gold and the building was buzzing with life of friends and family and lovers just like you and him. You both had made sure, with the help of a worker there, that no cop or detective had placed a reservation at the restaurant, so no more looking over your shoulder or horror stabbing you in the gut when you watched yokais whisper and look over at you.
Danny watched as you took it all in, an almost lovesick expression crossing his face. Everytime you both went out he would remember the first time you both met, with your pistol shoved into his face. Dating a cop was something that never crossed his mind, he always thought he would date a thief such as himself or maybe a regular citizen of the Hidden City. But, when you first chased him, screaming his name at the top of lungs, he knew it was love at first sight.
He did hate the secrecy though, even with the thrill of getting caught was something he got high off of, he did want to show you off to the world, he wanted to take you out everywhere without any of your coworkers finding you. At least you both got to do this, and he knew how to mark you as his.
The option of you quitting your job raged inside his head, the sheer thought of it made him mad. He would never let you give up your passion, how hard you’ve worked for your position at work, even though you said you would be fine with it, he wouldn’t be, and knew that you secretly wouldn’t be either.
“So, I heard about that heist you did a few days ago, how did it go?” You questioned as you laid your head in your hands, your elbows supporting your weight. Danny let out a gust of air as he also leaned in, taking in the breathtaking sight that was you.
“Don’t even get me started, sweetheart. Leonard is doing the chores for the rest of da month for the stunt he pulled during it,” the rat groaned and soon a waitress came up and Danny ordered one of their expensive wines, once she walked away, you raised an eyebrow at him.
“Wine, huh? That heist money really working itself off, isn’t it?” You played at him and he let out a low gruff as he smirked at you.
“Only using the money for good, right?”
“Oh and I’m considered good?”
Danny gave you a hungry look and for a moment you thought he was going to get out of the chair and eat you up in one bite, but all he did was bring his hands together  on the table as he leisurely spoke.
“Of course.”
Oh titans above how was I so lucky to land him.
You both ordered your meals and continued to have small talk. One thing you both decided to agree on was that Danny would talk about opposing gangs that were doing heists and robberies and then would tell you about them the next stop they were going to, with this you were given praise and extra cash at work and giving The Mud Dogs less competition in the playing field. It made Danny warm inside to see you have an interest in his job and it made you bashful when he would compliment you on your job.
In the background of your conversation was the beauty of musicians playing their hearts out for those who were out on the dancefloor, the restaurant was flooded with intoxicated laughter and the tapping of shoes against the wooden floor. The wine was slowly getting to you after the third glass and you couldn’t help but to start giggling after every word you said.
After the waitress took your plates and left the check, you and Danny had to fight over who would pay.
“You paid last time, I'll pay it,” you ordered as your fingers tried to swipe it from his hands, but he was a lot quicker than you and he let the bill twirl in between his fingers as he stared at you.
“Not a chance, eager beaver, the deal is that you bring your decked out self and I get to gawk at ya until I need to pay the bill,” he insisted and was about to pull out his credit card before he felt your fingers touch his and soon the bill was gone from his hands and all he could do was glare lovingly at you as you giggled in your seat, the piece of paper shoved under your hands.
“Yer not gonna give up, are ya?”
“Isn’t that what you like about me?”
His eyes traveled over your body slowly, hardly an ounce of urgency in them as he took in every inch of you. The curve of your waist, the way your outfit was flushed against your body like water to paper, how there were still love marks on your chest and barely above your neck from your last visit with each other. Desire was blazing through his eyes as they finally met yours.
“Oh sugar pop, there is a whole list of things I like about you,” he growled and he took pride in the way you squirmed in your seat.
He eyed the dancefloor and then back at you and gradually got himself out of his chair until he was next to you, his hand extended out.
“How about this: You cut a rug with me and you get to pay, deal?” He asked. You looked down at his extended hand and then back at his smug look, wondering if the wine had somehow gotten more to him then you.
“Oh please, you know I have two left feet. If we danced your feet would be sore for weeks from me stepping on them,” you joked out, but he didn't move.
“If ya were a dead hopper, I wouldn’t be askin. That or else I get to pay the bill,” he challenged. You didn’t know if it was the pride you held or from the extra glass of wine you swigged down, but you took his hand and let him lead you to the dancefloor.
The music buzzed through your ears as you held tighter to his hand. You had fought bad guys, you had been in blazing shootouts, you’ve seen life be taken away right in front of your eyes. But dancing seemed to be the hardest challenge to muster up courage to master. Danny gave your hand a reassuring squeeze as he took you both to the middle of the dancefloor.
He took the hand he was holding and extended your arm with his, while his other arm went around your waist, bringing you almost dangerously close. You could smell the alcohol on his breath and his cologne drained through your nose.
“Danny, what if we get caught? Everyone can see us,” you whispered. Many eyes were peering at you two, some just being distracted by the new movement you both caused and others eyeing the rat as if they recognized him. Fear started to snake itself around your body, almost trapping you once again in that constant fear of being discovered.
But, the love of your life gently tapped his nose against yours as he shushed you so quietly that you could barely hear it. His calming scent and even breaths washed over you and you felt yourself relax. No one has ever made you feel like this, no past lover, no family or friend, Danny wasn’t just a breath of fresh air to you, he was a whole new world to you.
“Hey, just let me show you off for just a few minutes, just this once, doll. Then we can go back to being Romeo and Juilet, I promise,” he purred and you silently nodded as he swept you off your feet. It almost seemed that the musicians took notice in the new lovebirds and the music picked up to match the tense and eager atmosphere, even the yokais around you took hints and their own moves started to change.
Both of your dance moves were slow at first, the rat yokai letting you get used to him taking the lead, with his quick feet and swirls and twirls, you were a little shocked at how well he was. He held onto you though, taking in your cautious swings and how your eyes were on your feet instead of up. Danny knew he was selfish for asking this out of you, he knew that you didn’t want to embarrass yourself in front of him. But the way you looked on the dancefloor was almost bewitching. Your tux/dress flew silently around you, the tone of your (FC) shined against the spotlight that twirled overhead, and your eyes almost seemed to glow in the scarlet and golden room, outshining and blinding anyone else around him.
He knew then he was deeply and terribly in love with you.
“My eyes are up here, toots.”
“So is that sarcastic mouth of yours.”
“You really do crack me up, dollface.”
He then let go of your waist and swept you away from him, the only thing connecting you two was the interlocking of your hands. Starlight seemed to bounce off you because he quickly brought you back to him, a little noise escaping your mouth as it felt as if you were dancing on air for how light he made you feel. He was behind you now, his mouth dangerous close to where your neck connected with your shoulder. His breath created goosebumps across your body as a feather kiss was placed against an old love mark he had given you days ago. Your heart seemed to go crazy within your ribcage as he twisted you around, your chests once again flushed against each other’s. Danny took several steps to your side and you quickly joined him, the wine and your wit gradually giving you confidence and soon you both were laughing, as if there was no one else in the restaurant, in the city, in the world.
He took notice in your new found bravely and he swiped his arm under your rump and lifted you up, his smile growing wider as a flood of giggles escaped your mouth as you looked down at him.
“Hey look! I’m finally taller than you!”
“Aye, don’t get used to it!”
He brought you back down and in one swope he dipped you, his strong hands holding you firmly as your back bent against him. It almost felt like a dream, a wondrous and unbelievable dream that you thought if you made one wrong move, you would fall out of bed and this would no longer be real. But the way he effortlessly pulled you back up and looked into your eyes with a lopsided grin, you knew that this wasn’t just a dream, it was a dream come true.
The song smoothly started to transition over to a much more tamed and kinder music that had everyone’s swaying hips go slower and closer. You were still giggling as Danny brought you against him and suddenly it was very cozy between you two.
You let the melody consume you as Danny lightly drifted you throughout the dancefloor, his face ever so slowly getting closer to yours. His hands were roaming your back as he brought you ever so closer to him to the point you both were barely missing each other’s toes. Suddenly it seemed like you both were spinning around each other until his lips barely slipped over yours.
“Look who’s become a jive dancer,” he said silently against your lips and a little groan escaped your lips at just hearing him talk to you like that, every word he ever whispered to you in private with no wondering eyes would burn you to your core.
“I had a good teacher,” you joked back as your hands wrapped around his neck, your nails every so slightly digging into his fur. You felt him lose his breath against your face and his own fingers dug into your lower back and suddenly it felt as if you both weren’t close enough. You both were never close enough.
“Have I mentioned how ravishing you look tonight?” He asked as he leisurely twirled you and brought you back to him.
“Maybe. But it's nice to hear it from such a dreamboat like you,” you said against his lips and he dipped you once again, but you barely made it pass his shoulder as he pushed his mouth against yours. A whirlwind of emotions surfaced throughout your body as your hand came up and caressed his face, your stomach dropping to the floor and your heart traveling up your throat.
He separated himself from you for just a second to bring you back up on your feet before attacking your lips again, one of his hands on the nap of your neck to tilt your head more up.
You were aware of the suspicious and judging eyes that fell upon you both, but for the first time, you didn’t care. He made you worry less, he gave you such an intoxication that not a single bottle of alcohol could ever get you as drunk as he did. The aftertaste of wine drifted onto your lips and you moaned into his mouth, grinning evilly as he shifted in his spot. His tail soon curled around your waist so that his other hand could go to the side of your face.
He detached himself from you for just a second to say, “ Ya better pay that bill before the only thing yer wearing is that smile.”
The world seemed to freeze before you as your hands slipped off of him and walked him over back to the table, the bill trembling in your hands as you paid for it, all while feeling Danny’s hand place itself lower than your back. You can feel sweat slowly start to build over your body as he opened the door for you and followed you out the door.
And before you knew it, you were back at your place, and once Danny closed the door behind you, he pounced, as if he wasn’t the rat, but the cat. His hands traveled over your outfit as if it burned his hands and couldn’t keep them in one spot and his kisses were slow and teasing, causing you to squirm under his touch. You couldn’t breath, you couldn’t hear anything, all you felt was the buzzing against your fingertips as they dug into his chest, your hands had already done the work to undo his tie and his undershirt.
The door met your back and Danny was panting against your lips, his mind had gone completely blank except for you, he only thought about you and this moment, how it might be days until he saw you again. The thought of not seeing you stabbed him in the gut, and he’s known that feeling before, and it’s not a good feeling. He missed hearing your laughter, he desired to see your glistening eyes look at him, he wanted to be with you. It drove him nuts, no, it drove him insane at the thought of it. That once he woke up from your bed, he would have to sneak out early so that no one would see him leave your home and would have to race back to his apartment instead of laying with you and getting to wake up with you in the morning. He’s never been here when you woke up, he’s never been able to see your eyes flutter open and for the first thing for you to see in the morning was him, he’s never been able to see the morning light shine against your features as if the sun was trying to capture your face. He’s never been able to share the first cup of coffee with you, to see his pjs shirt draped over you like a blanket as you watch the morning go by, as he would watch you with loving eyes. And that’s what drove him to kiss you harder, that’s what pushed him to pull your head back and for him to replace your old love marks with new ones, it’s what forced him to savor every second of this, to cherish what you give him tonight, he would cherish every damn second you gave to him in secret.

❝ The angry, the broken, the empty, the lonely. ❞
MEET…
Nicholas Sanchez
Age: 40
Birthday: December 11th, 1980
Gender/Pronouns: male, he & him
Hometown: Brooklyn, New York
Length of time in Salem: two years
Occupation: Contractor
Faceclaim: Danny Pino
HIS STORY
trigger warnings: mentions of alcoholism, mentions of drug addiction, child loss, mentions of cancer, mentions of leukemia
Nicholas Antonio Sanchez was born on December 11th back in 1974, to two parents who probably shouldn't have been. Peter and Gina Sanchez had met and fallen in love during their freshman year of high school. However, they had fallen within the wrong crowd and became addicted to both drugs and alcohol. During their Junior year of high school, both at their lowest point, Gina had surprised Peter by telling him she was pregnant with their first.
It was Gina’s choice to go along with the pregnancy, she didn’t want to become a mother but the young woman decided that maybe it was time to get a fresh start. In the beginning of her pregnancy, Gina and Peter were doing really well. The two stopped hanging out with the wrong people, and started to get their lives together a little. Being only eighteen, it was tough to change but they were doing it. Peter found a job as a mechanic, working on cars while getting his grades back up, while Gina found a job as receptionist at a hair salon.
The two had been doing really good, they were getting their life back on track to provide a happy, healthy and loving home for their first child. Sure Gina and Peter were terrified to become parents, but they were doing it, they were going to pull through. On December 11th back in 1974, the two had welcomed their first and only child. Together Peter and Gina had welcomed Nicholas Antonio Sanchez. He was their perfect little thing, and the moment Nicolas was placed in Gina’s arms, that was her snap back into reality. That was the moment Peter and Gina realized that loving alcohol and drugs wasn’t worth it. So they both gave it up for good.
It was for the better that Peter and Gina gave up their old ways, in all honesty it had helped Nicholas in the long run. He ended up having a good childhood, they worked hard and cherished him. They took care of him and provided him a happy and loving home which is what they only ever really wanted for their son. Growing up, Nicholas got good grades in school and from an early age he knew what he wanted to do in life. He enjoyed sports, and was on the basketball and baseball team.  Nicholas was an active student and was always on honor roll. He enjoyed being on the Yearbook Committee during his freshman year of high school, and even ran for class president. To say he was pretty much the golden boy of his grade was an understatement. Sure popularity was nice but it didn’t mean anything to him, his grades did however so he worked hard. He worked hard and it wasn’t until the summer going into his Junior year he realized he wanted to build homes for a living. Nicholas volunteered with a community program that helped build houses, and Nicholas realized that’s what he wanted to do. He wanted to help people and wanted to help build homes for those who didn’t have one.
Getting accepted into Michigan State, he said goodbye to his parents and started a new life in there. Loving every minute of college, the popularity seemed to follow him. Not only did he have an almost perfect grade point average, but he was the captain of their baseball team. Something that had always tuck with him.  Nick also contained another great group of friends, and continued to work hard with his grades. Graduating with a degree in business & engineering construction science, he was glad to make his parents proud.
Deciding not to move back to Brooklyn, he decided to live in Boston for quite some time after visiting on spring brake with some friends one year.  After graduating he found an apartment  pretty quickly, and a job right away. He was still in contact with his parents and friends, and made new ones along the way.  Things changed for the better for him when he had met and fallen in love with Isabella Ramirez. They were set up on a blind date by mutual friends and clicked instantly. He wasn’t looking for anything as he was focused on his job, but this was a good thing. Their relationship was a good thing. To him, Isabella was the most perfect woman in the World.  To him she was the love of his life. They dated for three years, and on their four year anniversary he proposed. To his surprise and excitement, Isabella said yes.
Being married for a couple of years, they found out that they were having trouble getting pregnant. They tried and tried and tried, and had no luck.  However, they had a miracle child.  At least  that’s what Nick liked to call her. Their miracle child she was beautiful and perfect. Violet Elizabeth Sanchez was born on October 10th. Life was perfect again for Nicholas and his little family. It was perfect up until Violet was eleven months old. They unfortunately found out she was diagnosed with Leukemia and she only had a short time to live due to being very sick. The news crushed Nicholas and Isabella and put a strain on their relationship. However with what little time they had left, the two decided to make the best of it. A few months after Violet’s first birthday, she had sadly passed. Their beautiful baby girl, their miracle baby had passed away and left Nicholas and Isabella ripped into shreds.
He struggled, and so did Isabella. They fought, and grieved and grieved and fought. It eventually lead them into a divorce. A divorce he didn’t want but thought it would be for the best. Deciding to pack up his things, Nick found himself back in Massachusetts. This time in Salem, trying to get back into the swing of things.

Hybrid Screaming about Rats for an HOUR
(Ft. Bonus dog symbolism as well)
I mean, this is going to be about Mummy and Tad(and Jeff). Buuut I am honestly taking it as an excuse to scream about rats. And their symbolism.
I'll also probably have an aside about Jeff as well, but honestly... Since @shields-and-depthgauges-oh-my done her wonderful art-- And I am not over how happy Mummy is to see rats, among other little details. Let's get to analysing!
Tumblr media
Sooooo--
First off, I'm going to talk about rats. Because here's the thing. I have fancies. And this is my TOPIC to scream about. No but seriously, back when I was writing WHMS/Winds Howl, Mountains Stand, I gathered an honestly ridiculous amount of symbolism and research for ratties. Which has ultimately kind of being left to the wayside, aside a small mention/use for my old Danny Phantom OC's revival.
Which yeah...
Tumblr media
We're not here to talk about Snitch though. As much as I do want to talk about them, the only thing they're relevant for right now is "why rats?" Which-- is only turgently connected to this. Because let me talk about the symbolism and how that impacts how I feel about rats, along with why I think that they're telling in terms of how each character reacted to them when first seeing them in the movie. Beyond the obvious of that one comic's view on things-- how you treat the lowest but--
Tumblr media
Which, I actually have some things to say about how Tad's less grossed out than one might think and his reaction is more to Tiffany's... but now is NOT the place.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Mummy's reaction-- yeah. "What's wrong with them anyway?". This is something that maybe would be better expanded on later, but-- that's the common associations at play. I'm sure if I just put down the word-- Rat a million negative things would race through your head.
Dirty, diseased, traitor, thief, liar, coward, spineless, bringer of death, disarray, destructive, vermin, pest, opportunistic-- etc.
BUT
Again, I own fancies. And I'm not alone in owning fancy rats. And if there is one truth I know that's probably universal. A rat's home is only as dirty as you let it be. And for a few of those prior descriptors-- they actually couldn't be further from the truth. Sure some are still certainly true-- but those are also not their problem as much as it's the issue of the world around and what it's given.
Rats are--
Some of the greatest little pets I've owned.
Tumblr media
They are loving, curious, inquisitive, creative, almost too creative when you're trying to keep them out of something and they keep getting around your obstacles. Loyal-- rats do not abandon those who're family. They come back--
Rats are fertile, and considering their hoarding behaviour-- well, they stock up, they prepare, they can be symbols of wealth, ambition, expansion, intelligence and resourcefulness. The underground world(which how relevant is that one to Mummy)  And yeah-- but then they have some-- rather surprising symbolism that I just... wish I could find the old sites I got this all from. But most of them seem to have vanished into the nether...
But you know one of the big ones I have on my list that I just-- wish I could source back.
Divine Retribution
Which, probably has something to do with the Black Death/Plague-- but I don't know really. Still!
Tumblr media
Rats-- NOW--
How does this all relate to Mummy and why did I want to mention that reaction? Circling back a little bit late but-- Misunderstandings.
And how that relates a bit to Autism, being on the spectrum, what we are-- how Mummy presents himself verses what his truth really is... Weeeell-- Rats actually have a lot of symbolism that I personally think is telling when we match Mummy up with them. Like-- he shows a lot of the same things that rats are associated with in terms of creativity, intelligence(although not in the same way that most people recognize, but the dead tongues, languages) And just generally-- there's a lot.
Like, I would also again, like to think about the loyalty Mummy shows and how he is. And there's something in the Sacrifice scene I'd love to grumble about here regarding that, and ever Tiffany there-- with how it looks like they've come closer in the interim-- not just Tad staying and I just--
But that's neither here nor there, because there's another main thing.
Secrets, Underground World, Stealth
Mummy. Also something about hiding in plain sight. I mean-- how often do you even get a glimpse-- of rats even when you know they're there. Or have an idea of it.
I mean, barring a few places... which as an aside, I want to talk back again to another rat role and place that I think we here in the West-English Countries don't appreciate or understand the MAGIC of quite enough-- India's Karni Mata Rat Temple.
Tumblr media
Rats are reincarnations. They're part of that, life, death, rebirth. Rats have their own sacredness. And considering in movie 2 we see them as I guess-- guardians in a way of a temple-- well yeah. But all of this stuff is more of an aside really to the main point and reason I am just-- delighted that rats are Mummy's implied favourites. Because yeah-- they're very misunderstood creatures that live such a short time BUT--
Yeah-- impact and there is a lot of symbolism he shares with them when you bother to look at ALL of it and not just full stop at the dirty side of things. Rats are secret keepers and just-- good beans. Also survival.
NOW--
Let's talk another side of things. In terms of all the animal companions for a moment, but more specifically I want to talk a little bit about how Tad and Mummy look to relate to animals verses humans.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Which-- I know personally-- with my Autism-- yeah, animals are much, much easier to deal with than humans in MANY ways. You don't have to try and work out what someone means when they say something, or any of the other puzzles. It's all really straight forwards. And no need to mask yourself at all. Something I'm sure both Tad and Mummy can appreciate--
Even if it does appear that Mummy is an extrovert, I mean, look how eager he is to get out, interact with people. Which that verses masking-- wouldn't blame him for befriending rats in that case since they always come in a group. Large clans/families-- which yeah-- Ratatouille got that RIGHT.
Meanwhile we have... Tad who's... rather more complicated, but at the same time not and really gets me screaming at him-- because he needs to TRAIN THAT DOG!
Tumblr media
LIKE HOW EXPENSIVE?!
I have-- a whole other rant on Jeff's poor to none training level. But-- it can actually be summed up in how Tad is with him in general. Which is... in terms of the psychology in his relationship with Jeff. Because listen here. I had dogs. I've had dogs, chickens, my rats. Befriended cats but never gotten the full honor of owning one.
But--
I actually have some things to say about this-- and it's almost a guilty admission really but... When it comes to dogs and training, I can almost kind of get it. Jeff's lack of training is probably twofold.
1) It's damn hard to train dogs when you can barely train yourself. And 2) it's got to do with how Tad seems to be with Jeff, seeing him as part of the family and as someone who gets him. Which as an oxymoron is a bit about respect--
Although, that's... well, also something to do with Autism and projecting and I should probably make a whole proper rant about that in its own time, along with the FULL "Train yer dog" rant. Which yeah... Sooo instead I'll tie this off with our favourite doggy symbolism and talk about that-- re Tadeo himself.
Tumblr media
Let's be obvious here-- Dogs are-- very often associated with dumb loyalty. Loyal but stupid. I mean, at least in American media-- which... not entirely wrong sometimes. Dogs are incredibly loyal. But stupid-- NAH--
Dogs are not as stupid as people see to like to portray them as. It's usually the people around them who're stupid and not paying attention or really working with the dog. Which-- I want to talk a little about Tad in regards to that, but it's kind of hard, since I am... not quite as enthused about it as with the rat rant and Mummy.
BUT--
Protection is the key theme here. His promise-- which leads to his assistance, loyalty resourcefulness... but for all the traits that Tad does have-- I feel like arguably his dog relations are in those lessons he has yet to learn from our favourite "man's best friend"
Communication, obedience, community. Stuff that Tad could arguably improve in. Also I do feel like, there's also some of his big heartedness and the empathy that could be improved, but that's less a lack of as much as he's kind of pushing that down-- and well-- a whole other issue.
Which--
Almost circles back to the mess of Jeff's lack of training.
Which-- dogs are boundless and seek things to keep them occupied. And they also seek leadership, which-- interestingly there's how I watch and view Tad-- and his relationships and he's very much a lost puppy when you look at how he follows around Sara-- which I have deeper analysis on that but--
Tad's... not really a leader as much as he tries to fashion himself as one and play the Hero.
AS A QUICK ASIDE--
Tumblr media
While I'm on dogs, I just want to quickly give a shout out to Freddy for making me think he really hits their high points in the small meaningful moments and hints to more beyond just "comic relief" ALSO, Shout out in general to these movies for allowing the "comic" to have their moments where you can glimpse more beyond just that.
Loyalty, protection, communication, sensory perception, assistance, resourcefulness--
In any case yeah!
BACK TO MY POINT--
...Animals are... much easier to relate to a lot of times in comparison to people... and we've repeatedly seen that Tadeo has issues with people. Which feels weird really when he's the protagonist. And while Mummy definitely speaks as an Extrovert.
Tumblr media
Like-- He's so eager to get out and be himself--
Tad is... a lot more complicated. Like, I am really, really this close to going back into my usual MBTI analysis rant for him, but-- Tad very much doesn't seem to actively ever really go out and talk to people outside their circle unless necessary. Which heeeey--
Again... Dogs are there to help you with communication, talking to people. Which makes me wonder about the pets and movie 3--
Which-- aside possibly nods to some of the deeper lore with Anubis. Which, let's not forget that he(they?!), also tended to the scales where Ammut is but--
DOGS are all about communication. Which is Tad's BIG issue. And it's not just in regards to how I point out the potential of him just taking the promise seriously and not communicating that. But-- Tad's... not good at communicating clearly with anyone. And we're not just talking in terms of people communication, bad listening and not trusting what people say--
And let's be real, still has a bit of lying issues-- but well... who in the modern world doesn't--
BUT
More, I want to return to Jeff and think about how generally one of the rules in Dogs, canine behaviour issues is... Dogs naturally want to have a pecking order/leadership to follow. And if there isn't a clear one they dictate that they are thus the leader.
Which indicates that Tadeo-- isn't really communicating clearly with Jeff and proving himself a leader... Which heeeey-- kind of hope this becomes more of an issue in movie 3, I really, really want something that forces him to come to terms with at least some of his issues.
COMMUNICATE DAMNIT, TRUST YOUR COMPANIONS.
Mummy, Sara, reign in Jeff and see that he needs you to be steady just as much as you seem to need him. And Tad does need Jeff.
FUNNILY ENOUGH
There are three characters who've proven they can gain some of Jeff's "oh leader" vibes.
Tumblr media
Belzoni-- who seems to be able to rally, or at least lead him around a bit, and is looked to by Jeff here-- like Jeff sticks by them...
Tumblr media
WHERE JEFF IS ON THE TRAIN FEELS TELLING AS WELL.
Like really?! Why is he not by Tad? But instead, he's following Freddy around on the train. And, minutely following scenes, still following and looking to him a bit. Which interesting.
Tumblr media
And most interestingly, from the Facebook shorts, teasers... I'd say for this, it's a walk that's starting "strong". Which indicates that Mummy is also slowly gaining ground with Jeff and communicating in terms of leadership(and no wonder, with his experience).
NOT THAT IT SURVIVED THE WHOLE WALK BUT--
Yeah.
Tumblr media
Please let movie 3 have Tad coming to confront this. Please. USE THE SYMBOLS YOU HAVE!

Writer’s Month 2020 - To Find A Way
Prompt No.6 - Ocean
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Chapter 3
Danny kicks the entrance door gently open. "Coming in!" He shouts into the room before he hesitantly steps in, guarded, and with perked ears. He still doesn't know what's up with Steve. He's definitely ex-military or special ops, definitely ex-elite. "Hey, Steve, give a sign so I know that you know I'm coming in. You gave me quite the show out there." He calls and listens but all he hears is irritated, half-loud breathing out from the left.
It's a funny building. The façade is a solid brick wall with windows but behind the door, space opens up into one big room. It's spacious, simple white walls which have seen better days. The wooden planks on the floor are worn and dusty but add a comfy touch to the atmosphere. The set-up in the single room is sparse: there's a large navy-blue couch with a few strewn pillows pushed against the wall, right under a big America flag that is pinned to the wall.
Steve watches him with certain alertness. "Weapon's on the table. I'm not going to shoot you. If I have wanted you off my ground you would be already on your way back where you came from. I wanted to scare you off. Didn't work. You're still here." Steve states calmly. "You know Kame and you've brought food. You've gained some credit to negotiate."
There's something in Steve's voice. Danny's heart answers to the silent undercurrent. Heat spreads over his torso. "Negotiate? About what? I'm the one with the food, smartass." Danny chuckles. "You know, that's not the best way to start a conversation with a guy you don't know." Steve doesn't answer.
Danny makes out about three dirty raincoats on a racket on the wall and several bags of potting soil piled up in the corner. "Play nice, Tarzan. I come in peace." Danny strolls into the big room and sees the makeshift kitchen built from a table at the other side. He spots an electric water jug, a tray with different sized mugs, a fridge and the stuff people need to eat and cook. "Do you live out here?" He asks.
"You ask too many questions for a guy who plays a delivery boy." Steve leans against a super long and old wooden table. He darts him a hot, dark look. Danny's sure Steve aims to be intimidating but all Danny could feel is more heat spreading further south.
"Touché." Danny grins and juts his chin out. "What are you doing with all the baby flowers? Planting? Dotting the jungle with colors? Creating a magic garden?" He points behind Steve where a heap of fresh soil sits in the middle of the table. Steve must have potted flowers. The chaos has an order and next to the small, empty flowerpots are a few plastic crates with a large variety of baby flowers. Danny sweats and the flutter of nervousness makes him run his mouth.
Steve has his feet crossed at the ankles and his hands rest on the rim of the wood table. "Why is it so difficult for an HPD Detective to imagine a man doing gardening, invested in the flora and fauna of Hawai'i?" Steve slips into a defensive mechanism and wears a harder streak around his mouth.
Danny knows he has to control his brain to mouth filter. "Hey, look, I'm sorry. I know, it's super impolite to ask prying questions but you held me at gunpoint. That was rude and I guess I've earned the right to go a bit off the rails with the rules of how a stranger behaves in a guy's private room." The lunch bags noisily land on the wooden surface of the smaller kitchen table.
Steve eyes him with high concentration and an unreadable face. "Has anyone ever told you that you talk too much?"
"Safes lives," Danny answers without batting an eye. He keeps his cool but feels Steve's tension like barely-there electricity. His hair on both arms feels sensitive to the unfamiliar vibes he tries to analyze. Danny gestures a bit bashfully into the direction of Steve's baby flower collection. "I was disrespectful. I'm sorry if I've offended you. I just wanted to break the ice, get the talk going, you know."
"I'm not offended, annoyed would come pretty close though. You talk a guy's head off and I'm hungry. I don't like to waste time. I have to finish my daily workload."
"Duly noted," Danny turns his head. "Got any plates?" He feels like the fifth wheel. Steve and his plants are a solid union and he's the intruder. He can't shake the feeling Steve would want him to leave. This dark, dangerous, super handsome man gets antsier the longer Danny stays in a close range.
"And they're called seedlings or offset, not baby flowers." Steve pushes off the rim of the table he has leaned against. His voice is defensive. "Wash your hands first. Hand sanitizer is over there." He orders and points to the corner with the sink.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to contaminate your private rooms. I can assure you I'm very cautious and I take the rules of the Lockdown very seriously. Do you want me to put my mask back on?" Danny walks over to the washbasin and turns the faucet on. The liquid soap squirts on his hand. He cocks his head and glances over his shoulder. "Do you need me to put my mask back on?" He asks again.
Steve's bleak expression quickly turns, he scowls. "No."
Danny nods and watches, lost in thoughts, how the water swirls before it vanishes down the drain. The sudden mood-drop takes him off-guard. The light banter hasn't breached the steel walls Steve seemed to draw up when Danny turns his eyes in his direction. He feels sad. The dull emptiness swashes in his stomach and steals his appetite. "Do you want me to leave?" He has no idea why he asks this. It's important to hear Steve's answer.
Steve takes his time to reply. Danny dries his hands with paper towels. He tries to find the waste bin. The longer Steve makes him wait for the answer the more determined Danny gets to stay. "Okay, big guy, I get it. You don't like visitors. You don't even like visitors who bring food. And I'll leave but you just have to say it. I'm not offended. I can eat my delicious shrimps somewhere on a rock, gazing over the ocean. I just thought you might enjoy the company."
Steve has his arms crossed over his chest. A sheen of sweat covers his upper body. Danny notices the way he balls his fists and how his biceps bulge. Steve is nervous. The realization hits Danny. He keeps Steve in his sight and steps toward the big, old wooden table. Steve's stance is wide. He seems to feel uncomfortable. "You can stay." He says flatly. The vibes he gives off make Danny's neck muscles tense.
"Okay, let's eat then and I'm out of your hair." Danny grabs the bags. He still hasn't found plates. It's not very stimulating to notice Steve's not supportive. Maybe the unexpected disappointment Danny senses on his tongue makes him act unwary. He spots the waste bin at the other end of the seedling station. Steve's wary gaze gets him clumsy. Danny steps forward to throw the paper ball into the waste bin but he bumps into the corner of the huge, old table.
Everything happens in slow motion. Danny watches how the impact makes the freshly repotted seedlings wobble before three pots tumble over the edge and start to fall. Danny hears the surprised and fearful gasp from Steve and he expects this athlete of a man to leap forward to catch his babies. Instead, Steve freezes and Danny has his hands full with the bags of shrimps and the paper towel. He's too slow. There's this split second where he watches how the pots get pulled down to the floor by gravity. He decides to hold on to the food and drops the paper towels. He tries to catch one of the pots, without success.
The loud noise of cracking clay pots seems to detonate in the utter silence. Danny feels the hard push of hands and he stumbles. Steve rudely shoves him aside. Danny hears Steve's harsh panting he sucks in air like a drowning man.
"I'm sorry, Steve. Shit, sorry man. I didn't mean to – "
"What have you done?" Steve crouches on the floor, hunched over the broken pots. His hands fly over the spilled baby-plants without coordination. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?" He yells.
Danny doesn't understand what's happening. He watches helplessly how Steve falls apart right before his eyes. "Steve, I'm sorry. Come on, let me help you." He drops the bag with lunch on the floor and squats down. His hand comes down to rest gently on Steve's shoulder.
Steve's wild. The angry jerk has Danny almost drop on his rear. His hand got swatted off aggressively. "Go away. Leave! You have to leave, I need – I can't," Steve's voice is a hoarse croak, laced with a fear Danny can't grasp but he’s more than willing to try to understand.
"Hey, buddy, let me help you."
"They're hurt, god, I have to – I have to," Steve murmurs to himself. Sweat runs down his temple and leaves a wet track in the smudge of dirt on his skin.
Nausea sets in the pit of Danny's stomach when he sees how Steve shakes. Within seconds he's covered in sweat and collapses slowly with his entire focus on the plants on the floor. His hands scoop up the flower dirt around the naked plants. The gentle, white baby-roots show and one of the young leaves is broken. Steve seems heartbroken. He cups them with both hands, his breathing ragged.
Danny can't move, too frightened by the shocking realization about what he's witnessing. Steve is caught in a world Danny can't see but he senses in what kind of horrible loop Steve has been sucked in. Battlefields. War zones. Destruction and death, agonizing memories Danny can't even start to fathom how unsettling those inner images must be. They seem to rule Steve's presence. The broken clay pots have flipped a switch.
"They'll make it. Yeah, you'll be fine, fine. I'm not giving up on you," Steve's eyes dart over to Danny.
The wild, helpless look on his face kicks Danny into motion. Steve must have lost friends in horrible fights, bled to death, nasty bullet wounds in impassable areas with no help to get them out alive. Danny has no idea if he's interpreting the situation correctly. Sever PTSD has many faces. And he's sure he stares in one of them now. Danny only knows he has to help Steve save the plants no matter how ridiculous this might seem. They're more to Steve than just plants. They're his friends who got killed in action. The ones Steve couldn't save.
Danny jumps to his feet. "I've got you, Steve. I'm here. We'll save your plants. Let's – " he walks over to this proud, brave man who's hunched over, unable to snap out of it. Danny empties one of the crates and is back at Steve's side in a second. "Put them in here. We'll pot them in new and bigger flower pots, okay? Here, lay them down, yes, just like that. They're strong. They're gonna make it."
Steve's hands shake uncontrollably. Danny tries not to stare at the strong arms and the helpless way Steve's experiences as a soldier let him crash completely. He's drowning in an ocean of bad memories that have messed so terribly with the emotional state he almost keens over baby-plants on the floor. "They're gonna be fine, yes," Steve mumbles and does as Danny says.
Danny wants to cry. The cruelty and the unfairness of the world cut through him like a glowing blade. He hands Steve the crate with the saved flower seedlings. "Let's get up. Come on. They need your care, new soil, and some water." Danny grunts when he pushes himself up. His knee screams with pain from kneeling for so long. He pushes the pain aside. "Steve?" He whispers.
Steve's hunched over and cleans the floor with his bare hands. Damp soil seems to be everywhere. He scoops the spilled soil to a smaller heap, totally caught up in this mundane action. Danny's eyes catch the tremor in his left hand. He bites his lips and waits a moment to collect his emotions that are all over the place. "Steve? Come on, buddy, get up." Danny touches Steve's shoulder once again, cautious and butterfly soft fingertips graze over Steve's bare shoulder. He waits and almost sobs when Steve twitches and shuffles to get up from kneeling on the floor but waits instead.
Danny doesn't know what to do. "I uh, look, I put the crate on the table. Your babies have enough earth. You take your time, okay? I'll, uhm, I'll go and make some coffee." Danny puts the box on the wooden table and turns his back to Steve. He washes his hands under the faucet. He bites his tongue and swallows the shock.
He listens with a wild beating heart when Steve gets up. Nothing. He hears nothing after that. He slowly turns around and holds his breath. Steve hugs his upper body, rocking back and forth. His breathing is labored and he still seems to be a prisoner of the relapse he experiences. His shirt is soaked in sweat. His skin glistens in the evening light. Steve looks lost.
Danny tosses the rag with which he has dried his hands in a corner of the makeshift kitchen. He knows from police training that people with an anxiety disorder need different tools to flip the switch, to get out of the loop. He has no idea if Steve has such a toolbox or if he needs something else. He has to try to get him out of the destructive undercurrent of the dark, dangerous ocean he has been sucked in. It's Danny's fault, Steve's such a mess. It's his fucking fault. He has to try!
"Steve," Danny whispers, scared to spook him with a too-loud voice, "what do you need?"
