seeing nightheart arguments again as with every asc release so once again, a reminder that when people say "nightheart's arc (or that of any other warrior cats character for that matter) is sexist", 99% of the time they are not calling the character, themselves, within the universe, a misogynist. nightheart in the books does not hate women. liking nightheart is not misogyny. what IS sexist there is the choices the authors make when they are writing a character. because at the end of the day, the characters themselves are not real.
in nightheart's case, at the start of his story almost every female character in his life (sparkpelt, finchlight, squirrelflight, lilyheart, myrtlebloom, etc) was written as being needlessly cruel to him, in spite of their own characters, and the male characters in his life (bramblestar, alderheart, bayshine) were written as far kinder or more reasonable towards him. the issue was not the FACT people were being mean to him, but the blatant trend and malicious gendered stereotypes going on with how it was handled.
"but they've been redeemed by Thunder! they're all being nicer to him now!" yeah, but isn't it super fucking weird that it was written like that in the first place? that finchlight changed personality like the weather when she should have been a prominent enough character to have an established one, that sparkpelt needs to redeem herself for absences in squirrelflight's hope and tbc that were unfairly out of her control and were not even considered an issue until now it's convienent to make her son sad, that squirrelflight was treated as antagonistic and cruel over asking her adult grandson to do some chores or whatever?
"but that's the author's fault, not the character's!" the character is not real though. he doesn't have feelings that can be hurt, what is there are the words on the page, and a lot of people will look at a character's arc rather than imagining them as a real person or making up headcanons to fill in gaps. there is also nothing wrong with people disliking a character you like. that is always going to happen forever.
"so are you saying i'm sexist because i like or relate to nightheart?" no, nobody is saying this. nightheart is an insecure angsty young adult protagonist in a tonally silly book series who has a complicated relationship with his family and gets into relationship drama, of course a bunch of people are going to latch on to him, and there's nothing wrong with that. i know a ton of nightheart fans. people criticising him is not a personal attack on you or anyone.
"you're looking into this too deeply" man this is warrior cats tumblr, what are any of us doing here. sometimes engaging critically with a text is fun. sometimes, texts have genuine flaws and harmful biases within their writing and it's useful to learn to identify and analyse them. warrior cats is not and never will be peak literature and i don't think anybody expects it to be but that doesn't mean people aren't allowed to take critical approaches to it on anything more than a surface level.

Can I ask your opinion on answer from this :
https://www.tumblr.com/gojuo/742796780522061824/is-satosugu-a-queerbaiting-ship?source=share?
Yes, you can!
The only thing I agree with the post is that SatoSugu isn't queerbaiting. Other than that, I don't particularly agree with anything else at all.
SatoSugu would have been queerbaiting if the ship had been promised to be canon and used as a marketing tool. Gege, from my knowledge, never said anything about making them an actual couple by the end of the series. At most, Gege wrote characters that do have this relationship that can be interpreted as romantic if one chooses. They do have a lot of romantic undertones, but it's more so for telling a story than just "I need readers".
And saying the fandom is queerbaiting using SatoSugu is... odd.
The fandom can't make the marketing decisions of what happens with JJK. Now, a person can lie and say "oh, SatoSugu kissed in episode whatever", but that doesn't mean they're queerbaiting. They're just lying.
Now, yes, we indeed have a lot of merchandise with Satoru and Suguru, but we gotta take in consideration as to what season we just finished.
The Hidden Inventory Arc which centers around the two and the Shibuya Incident Arc which most of what happened was because of those two. (Satoru getting locked up because he saw Suguru's face, MY GUY WAS TRICKED!!)
And it's not like we don't get merchandise of other characters.
Honestly, the answer of that ask just sounds mean-spirited. "(Majority) stsg shippers are just annoying as fuck because they genuinely believe their ship is canon, try to force their headcanons and misinterpretations of the material down everyone's throats, and send death threats to anyone who dares to ship Gojo with literally anyone else."
As done every other shipper, let's not kid ourselves now.
For anyone who seen my BNHA posts about ships, you know that I believe any shipper is capable of doing this. Now I don't doubt that a SatoSugu could do this. But there have been other shippers who have attacked SatoSugu shippers for the same reasons.
Hell, I just had someone try to make my NobaMaki and ShokoHime post about YutaMaki and I didn't mention his ass in that post. Like, damn, let the girls have the spotlight. Yuta ain't all that for you to throw him onto every single thing where he's not mentioned. (I like Yuta, folks, calm down.)
Also, I don't see a problem with a SatoSugu shippers believing their ship is canon. If they want to, let them. If you don't like it, skip along.
Another thing they said is how just because Gege doesn't do fanservice of his female characters doesn't mean he's above being misogynistic.
Okay, we got to stop throwing that word around.
I don't know how Gege personally and I won't say Gege (okay, has Gege actually confirmed their gender?) can't be misogynistic.
But using the writing material as an example is just kinda getting played out.
(I also dislike the JJK - Naruto comparison in general, it's gotten to the point that's a pet peeve of mine.)
The thing with the female characters here is that they feel like characters, not added accessories. Hell, some of the male characters actually feel more like an accessory to the story than some of the female ones.
Gege isn't afraid to write a complex character like Mei Mei. Nobara isn't written to be some generic love interest and chase some guy. Instead, she got her own morals, goals and even a whole backstory that we did get some insight on before Shibuya. We haven't see Nobara in a while, but remember what happened to her? Yeah, we probably won't see her for a while.
Hell, we haven't seen or heard anything about TODO AOI since Shibuya, but Nobara has been shown to be thought about by Yuji and Megumi.
Maki is more developed than Toge, a male character we haven't seen since when.
Uro was only in a few chapters but she was more entertaining during her fight against Ryu and Yuta than Ryu was. And she didn't die!
You know sometimes a fandom will say a creator is misogynistic for killing off a female character as if it's illegal for her to die because SHE IS STILL PART OF THE CAST and as if more male characters haven't been killed. And died in lame ways. And some of those male characters, again, didn't get the development female characters did.
No two female characters feel the same, that's just me.
The OP talked about how Shoko and how Gege should have developed her more. "Had he given Shoko the same care and love he's given to the boys, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. Because that would mean that the fujos would have to engage with her character and her dynamic with other characters in a meaningful way."
Shoko isn't like Suguru and Satoru though. Out if the three, she was the most "stable".
Also, the reason we didn't get a lot of her during that arc is because she was often isolated because of her technique. Shoko herself is a victim due to how things are ran. She was isolated from her friends very often and later years, we see she has eyebags. She barely is getting sleep.
And the thing is... Gege does acknowledge her relationship with the SatoSugu even later in the manga.
She herself comments that when Suguru left, Satoru wasn't alone. She was there.
Of course, Suguru and Satoru were closer. They had to spend a lot of time together. When they started to drift, that's when things definitely went downhill.
I have seen many SatoSugu shippers actually acknowledge Shoko's existence more than anyone else (besides actual Shoko fans). And they often include her being close to SatoSugu and even include her romantically with the two. (Here for it.) She'll sometimes be the one to give advice, expected, but sometimes in fics and whatnot she is written as a person than just a tool to push SatoSugu together. I have seen people draw fanart of her being involved with the situation with the Hasaba Twins.
I have yet to see a SatoSugu shipper actually hate her and deny her existence.
I'll tell you a person I often do see get ignored when it comes to SatoSugu. And that's Yaga. A male character. It's not all the time he gets ignored by the fandom, but he's more ignored than Shoko, I'll tell you that.
This is gonna sound mean, probably, but I don't think that question should be asked about anything pertaining to SatoSugu given the post is tagged "anti". Interesting as it is to see someone else's POV who doesn't ship SatoSugu, I just... eh...

What are you most controversial/unpopular OP opinions??? Sorry if it was answered before
You want me to get canceled so bad-- If I speak-- But idk, I guess I'll say the controversial opinions I can say publicly without a bunch of people coming at me!
Zo$an is a bit... Overrated? And by overrated I mean extremely/annoyingly overrated. I like the ship and its canon dynamic but I think at least 80% of the fandom portrays them in a very mischaracterized way. Not to say that... The ship is literally everywhere and the shippers always look for every little thing to prove they're canon, even if the "proof" has literally nothing to do with them. It's not that I don't enjoy the ship (although I must admit I prefer other dynamics a lot more) I just can't stand shippers that go to extremes. It's funny because I think Zo$an's dynamic is way more interesting and romantic in canon than it will ever be in the fandom. It's a bit sad, ngl. I liked them a lot at first but it got so tiring and now I am pretty exhausted from seeing it everywhere. The people force it to be more than it is when the canon is already pretty fucking great.
Adding to the Zo$san thing. I think that relationship would only work if Luffy is there somehow but it wouldn't last a day without him in the relationship. Unless there's like, a ton of character development most of these people don't make them go through.
One Piece Film Z is my worst enemy. It's such a boring movie. The only good thing is the soundtrack and maybe the suits but God watching that was torture.
Boa hate is uhhhh weird. I mean, I get why the joke about her being in love with Luffy might be annoying, but I think most of you need to learn to understand that Oda's sense of humor is sometimes a bit too exaggerated (and not funny) and it has basically nothing to do with the actual canon dynamics between characters. Boa likes Luffy because he's one of the first men who has ever treated her right, so of course she confuses that feeling with love. And of course, yeah, it isn't canon. Whatever. Just read between the lines, maybe? And also, stop using words like "pedo" to describe her because using that term so lightly about 1) a fictional character and 2) somebody who's clearly not a pedo is fucked up. Lmao. Do you even know what that word means???
Once again complaining about Pudding hate and saying that it's stupid. I won't overanalyze because I always do it with her, but the only reason people hate her is for misogynistic reasons and because they're babying Sanji. Evil male characters are okay and hot and very traumatized but the second it's a woman she's the most evilest person ever! Because God forbid they make mistakes! Suddenly their character development isn't valid because they hurt their babygirl!
Now that we're talking about my dearest Pudding. Not tagging anybody of course, but I saw this post with so many interactions of people agreeing about Sanji considering violence as a sign of love which??? Doesn't make sense at all?? OP said it was because he couldn't tell the difference between love/abuse because of his family, but that's just... Not accurate. That could only happen if they had manipulated him into thinking abuse is a type of love, but he had healthy love growing up. Even when he was with the Vinsmokes (Sora and Reiju, I love you). And yet OP said Sanji considered Pudding's behavior flirting (wrong) and that's why he let her attack him (nope) and that it was proof of Zo$an. And okay, it's not a hugely popular theory, but a lot of people agreed with it and it bothered me a lot because it's both out of character and also using Pudding (complex female character) once again to try and prove the canon of a ship (that doesn't have anything to do with WCI either???). It just bothers me. People can perceive the story however they want but... Y'know.
OPLA isn't that good. Or good at all? I only like it because I like the cast and it's funny seeing my blorbos irl. But the script is simple and dull and just stupid most of the time. The characters are either simplified, mischaracterized, or forgotten. And tbh most of the shots are very awful and could be a lot better. The directing is also nonexistent. It's 6/10 and 3 of those points are because both the Zolu and the cast.
Apparently this is a very common theory about Nami's origins, but, uh, I don't think we need to know? What else do you need to know about her? People say she's a lost princess or something like that as if we didn't have a lost princess already (Sanji ily). Repeating the same plot would be boring and underwhelming, but also? It'd be extremely useless for the plot and it'd go against everything about Nami's story and the way Luffy reacts to it.
Luffy isn't canon aroace. In fact, the reasoning people use for him being "coded" is the same Oda uses for Zoro too and Zoro is almost never portrayed as the "idiot who doesn't know what sex is" the way Luffy often is. If you're calling Luffy canon aroace for what Oda said about him being focused on adventures, the same goes for Zoro being focused on his dream. They could be coded arospec but there's nothing confirmed and the constant discourse about it is stupid. Attacking others because of their ships just because you don't agree with them and saying it's wrong using our identity to do it is very fucked up. Especially since most of the time people complaining aren't even aroace. The only reason people do it (attacking others saying they can't ship Luffy and that it's "weird" and "wrong") is that they infantilize Luffy/Don't want him getting in between their ships (<- aroace person writing this) (also, it's very ableist since people agree on Luffy also being neurodivergent coded and treating him like a kid bc of that but this isn't about that now).
Somehow this is very common. Some fucking how. I can't believe I have to say this. I'm tired of people blaming Usopp for what happened in Water 7. Or in general hating Usopp. Actually, he's one of the best-written characters in the whole show and he's so underappreciated it's so frustrating.
Sanji's perv jokes are annoying af and we all know that, but people who hate the character and consider him a red flag for that are missing the point completely. The point being "Oda exaggerates jokes to an annoying extent and most of the time they don't even reflect the character". I understand they can make you uncomfortable (same here tbh) but reducing Sanji to only those jokes is a waste of his character. You need to take jokes less seriously.
If I see one of these "red flag OP boys" TikToks adding Law/Ace/Zoro/Sanji next to fucking Doffy I will riot. Also, stop adding Crocodile there. He's a mafioso, there's NO way he won't be a sweetheart to his lover.
Baron Omatsuri's artstyle and animation is amazing and it fits the plot and aesthetic of the movie perfectly and people saying it's ugly will forever bother me.
"Usopp is suddenly hot after timeskip!" He has always been hot what the fuck are you talking about.
People reduce Nami to her "mean"/"sarcastic" personality a lot when she's quite literally one of the most kind-hearted characters of all. That being said, morally speaking she's probably one of the worst. I could explain how that works but I don't want to do it now, the point is-- Let the girl be sweet instead of making her mean all the time. And also, let her be mean and selfish without making it her entire personality. There's something called "balance".
Film Red was kind of bad. Like, the songs are amazing (thanks, Ado) but the ending is awful and the plot is very meh. I'm only here for Uta and Shanks but the rest of the characters are just useless. I do appreciate Sanji's hair in the movie, though.

Okay the worst part about what bones did? Like, regardless of romance, ships, whatever, this is just another example onto the PILE that already exists of people trying to treat mha like how every other shonen should act.
Shonen and shojo aren’t like… genres, but they are categories that generally follow a lot of the same tropes. The reason why I personally enjoy shojo more is because it lacks a lot of the fan service (usually) and imo is just better at adapting and evolving what it means to be apart of the category. Like madoka magica, which birthed the popularity of the psychological horror genre WITHIN shojo.
Shonen, however, has evolved a little bit, but not nearly as much. Generally, the same 10 tropes are used, no matter the anime/manga, (with some exceptions ofc okay, I’m not blind) and because of this expectation, it makes those like the director, I’m assuming, and the fandom, have certain expectations on what should happen in a shonen. When mha doesn’t follow that format, people either get mad about it, write it off, or, in bones’ case, completely change it.
Now I’m not saying they always alter things, or even that they are altering anything for season 6. I think it would upset everyone involved if they just randomly changed the writing.
What I am saying though is that they’re playing into the same toxic tropes shonen has been following for decades. Decades!
Boys can’t be vulnerable, and if they are, they are either a small child, it’s for a joke, or it’s for their female love interest. Usually the male “best friend” (or in bkg’s case closest person☺️) is only allowed to be vulnerable, touchy, outshine the female love interest intimately, etc when the female love interest either can’t, or they are helping the female love interest be intimate.
Because, god forbid we let boys cry! Toxic masculinity! I need to project onto this super strong male character, and that means they can’t be emotional OR gay!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When they did this, it wasn’t just about how Izuku is defining ochako’s character, it wasn’t just about how iida and Katsuki’s moments were completely glossed over.
It was about how we continue to let toxic masculinity define our characters and their relationships.
Ochako and her moments, her story, her character is being defined by the male main character. By her “accepting her feelings” completely dismisses her hero career, her story.
“Oh but she can learn she can be a wife AND a hero!” But does she want that? Has she actually EVER wanted that??? Or has someone defined that for her?
She’s just not the focal point of this arc, not in the slightest, and yet here we are. Here we fucking are. Is toga mentioned once in this intro? Hell no. Ofc she’s not. Because that would seem too suspicious.
Anime only’s, please just read the manga. It’s prettier, more accurate to canon, a different perspective on Katsuki, Izuku, Ochako, and Toga, and won’t pull this bullshit.

Yknow, dating sims sure do make up the wildest shit to justify you dating standard anime guys. Hey, do you want to date actual historical figures (Napoleon, Vincent Van Gogh) but as vampires? How about you get isekaied into the middle of a fantasy civil war with the warring armies representing different Alice in Wonderland characters and Wonderland is actually a generic fantasy kingdom and btw you are the reincarnation of Alice for some reason, oh hey you want to date these mafia guys in 1920s Italy but Mussolini is not mentioned (almost as if what’s the fucking point setting this game in Italy) Or what if you want to date modern Japanese cops? BUT DONT WORRY ALL COPS ARENT BAHHHD. Do you also want to discuss the inherent corruption in the police for- Hey, you wanna play as a time-travelling reporter who finds a wholesome found family with her studio-mandated male harem? Sure, but after we spend two hours failing to tackle drug trafficking and illegal immigration and using trauma for shock value. What about a game where you play a woman who suffered amnesia and is trying to piece back the fragments of her past with her chosen boyfriend and you have to rekindle your relationship with him? Nah, lets leave all her characterisation to a pixie flying in her head and make her harem consist of an abuser, a serial rapist, her math tutor and a terrorist. Theres one where you play as a librarian who got kidnapped and sent to the palace and is forced to sign a royal contract where you have to MONITOR 1 OUT OF 12 PRINCES to see which one should be the king cos the brothers are split into two parties on which one should be king and only the woman can choose cos apparently the contract need some pure hearted woman to be an unbiased party?? WHATT. There's a game where you play as a literal living doll with poisonous skin who's the clone of someone's long dead daughter being abducted by a fancy thief and now lives in steampunk London to start a new life BUT OOOHHH IT TURNS OUT YOU HAVE A SECRET LITTLE BROTHER WHO REVEALS YOU WERE THE 666TH CLONE EVER EXISTED AND IT TURNS OUT YOUR CREATOR DAD HATED YOU WOOOOOO SCARY!!! QUEEN VICTORIA IS THERE AND ALSO A TERRORIST WHO WANTS TO NUKE GREAT BRITAIN WITH THE MC'S POWERS AND A MAGIC TREE. (well at least they were accurate in Britain's vampiric levels of colonisation) OH AND APPARENTLY THE SOURCE OF YOUR POWERS COMES FROM A HEART SHAPED PHILOSOPHER'S STONE EMBEDDED IN YOUR CLEAVAGE.
BUT WAIT THERE'S STILL MORE
There's another game where you play as the female reincarnation of Cupid (So Aphrodite, then?) and you are sent to Earth to be a matchmaker and you would think someone whos a literal love goddess would be very worldly, snarky and doesnt fall for any traps men pull in dating BUT NOPE SHES JUST AS DAINTY AND NAIVE AS EVERY OTHER VISUAL NOVEL PROTAGONIST. WHAT ABOUT A GAME WHERE YOU PLAY AS A WOMAN WHO JUST TURNED 18 AND BECAUSE SHE IS THE LAST OF HER "WHITE" CLAN SHE HAS TO GET A HUSBAND AND EVERY TIME SHE DATES A PERSON FROM A DIFFERENT COLOURED CLAN HER HAIR GETS DIFFERENT HIGHLIGHTS AND ALSO THERES A RIGID CASTE SYSTEM IN THE WORLD BASED ON THE COLOUR OF YOUR CLAN AND THERE IS DISCRIMINATION AND PREJUDICES AGAINST THE CONSIDERED LOWER COLOURS, SO MUCH SO IF A HIGHER COLOUR CLAN PERSON DATES A LOWER COLOUR CLAN PERSON, THEY GET BANISHED INTO THE UNDERWORLD. COS THATS WHAT DATING SIMS NEED! CLASSISM, RACISM AND EUGENICS! THE WHOLE FUCKING NINE YARDS.
AND FINALLY IF THAT DOESNT SELL YOU, WHAT ABOUT:
A GAME WHERE YOU PLAY AS A DAUGHTER OF A PRIEST WHO HAS THE BLOOD OF EVE (my god XD) THAT MAKES HER IRRESISTABLE TO VAMPIRES AND SHE BECOMES A SEX SLAVE/CHEW TOY FOR EVERY ROMANCEABLE CHARACTER IN THE STORY. AND YET WE'RE SUPPOSED TO SYMPATHISE WITH THE RAPIST VAMPIRES BECAUSE THEY HAVE MOMMY ISSUES....THIS GAME BECAME A MULTIMEDIA FRANCHISE
...Whatever happened to games where we just date decent people?

Hello! Your blog is the first place I ever read that Zuko/Katara is a "feminist ship" and I am soooo confused, because
Their very first interaction* literally looks like "the female character is captured, helpless** and completely at mercy of the male character, who is the one holding her captive and is obviously trying to use her" - and some (many?) people watched this and thought: "mmm, I do really want this two to get together". And then they called it a feminist ship.
Like, WHAT?! This looks very much NOT feminist.
*every time before Zuko either didn't notice Katara or intentionally ignored her. Even earlier in the very same episode, when the pirate talks about Katara and Aang, because they were the ones who showed interest in the scroll - Zuko is only focused on Aang. They never had a single face-to-face scene before, I checked.
**Katara was tied to the tree until Momo helped her, so I guess she could not break free by herself
Oh, they don't just claim that Zuko and the entire Fire Nation are feminist (and that said feminism totally extendends to the women belonging to the nations they are invading, conquering and/or commiting genocide against) - they claim that the mere act of shipping Zutara is feminist and NOT shipping it is sexist because Zutara is "the female gaze" or whatever the fuck.
Some of them really went "I am a woman and I like this, therefore it is inherently a feminist thing, and anyone who dislikes this is womaning wrong."
Honestly, fandoms need to let go of this need to make everything feminist, or queer, or just generally "woke", and calling everyone who disagrees a right wing lunatic - and I'm saying this as a bisexual feminist that is related to a bunch of right wing lunatics that are still defending the guy that tried to become dictator of Brazil after losing the presidential elections.
Fiction doesn't have to be a mirror of our actual morals/political beliefs, and the romances in it don't need to be healthy. It should simply be about "What would be the most entertaining/coherent choice for the narrative and themes we are going for?"
No need to pretend there are no "problematic" aspects to things we like, or that everything we dislike has something inherently evil about it.
Zutara could have been the healthiest ship ever or the most unhealthy dynamic ever seen on screen - I wouldn't care about either possibility, I just want something that is both fun to watch and makes sense for the story. To me, Zutara doesn't fit either, therefore I don't like it.
It's as simple as that.

what do you mean by ""reylo dynamic""??
okay. first thing to understand is when i say "reylo dynamic" in a ship or pairing or style of writing romance it isnt unique to reylo. a lot of popular fandoms have some variation of "the reylo dynamic" its just reylo has popularized and kind of mass marketed what used to be a niche fandom ship dynamic so its what i call it as shorthand
The Reylo Dynamic™ usually has specific traits (note: it does not need to have all of these, just a significant amount). canon characterization does not matter either, all it comes down to is the fandom portrayal of the ship by and large (think dramoine and kacchako). the only hardline one is this:
>spunky female character (usually protag of the story) who is at least a little combative with the male lead, and a male lead who is otherwise grumpy/brooding/mysterious
for the common traits:
>female lead is usually brown haired, shorter, with emphasis on being petite and small. idk why even reylo stories they do this even tho daisy ridley isnt that short???
>male lead is usually dark haired and typically described as "unconventionally attractive" exactly
>female lead usually has to prove herself or feels like she has to prove herself. like. as a big thing. it can be one big moment or her constantly feeling like shes being condescended to for some perceived weakness (like: being a woman, being small, not knowing how to control magic powers, whatever). important thing to note is she will often not get over this until like the very end of the story if ever
>usually bc this dynamic can be hard to accommodate for and write around (bc the two romantic leads DONT WANT TO BE AROUND EACH OTHER) there is usually some kind of plot contrivance keeping them together. fated lovers, soul mates, class project, you name it. i feel this is usually a cop out bc i spend most of the plots feeling like they should just fuck and get it over with
>there is almost always miscommunication. and the annoying kind. every time i have tried to suffer thru a story with The Reylo Dynamic™ in novel format i find myself annoyed. bc i dont believe most of the time this is a real, normal, very human break down of communication. i constantly feel like one of them is being an unreasonable or frankly stupid brat in the situation purely for the sake of plot convenience. do you know how dumb it is to see a woman who has lost her job, her only friend, her boyfriend, and her mom get told by some hot guy "hey due to circumstances outside of ur control that i dont blame u for we have to get married also im rich and will take care of ur every need and im not asking for romance i just need magic powers back of mine that u technically have and if u dont marry me they'll also go out of control and kill you" and the woman. is mad and pissy abt it and deliberately makes problems for him. bitch u were at rock bottom and this guy is offering u free rent and food and answers to all the questions you had since chapter 1. and ur mad abt it. theres no moral objections she has to him she's just annoyed bc????????????? i guess she is being asked to do something????????? bc she doesnt wanna look weak?????????? bc shes cranky??????????????? i dont know. id cut her some slack to start with but she just keeps deliberately antagonizing him until they fuck. i gave up reading it was a slog
>lots of bickering and jabs at the other. depending on the rating of the story this will only be resolved with hatefucking. even then it usually wont fully be resolved. while i am a fan of hatefucking there is smth abt how much of a slog it is to watch it in the reylo dynamic bc of the next point:
>usually the author never commits to them having a real, genuine, non-imagined reason to being combative with each other or hating each other, NOR having a real, genuine, non-imagined reason to be together and make it work and be happy. they live in this limbo between dislike. a constant "will they wont they" but instead of the will they or wont they in question being hooking up its instead if they will break up or not. it's like watching a very incompatible couple refuse to work things out by talking and sorting through their own issues AND refusing to just break up and see other ppl more compatible. id rather there be genuine dislike or even hatred they have to sort thru and actually make progress in. dont half ass making a guy horrible. give me a reason why the mc hates him. or if it is imagined by the mc, show the mc processing it properly and working thru it and having proper character growth. but they dont bc the bickering is part of the appeal and making one or both of them genuinely bad ppl breaks the fantasy. or smth.

some thoughts on The Night Agent
Pros:
The real mix of male and female characters and their importance or roles within the narrative itself. It all felt so natural.
For the most part, even the ‘villainous’ characters have so many moments where you can appreciate their complexity and flaws, rather than just dismissing them as (boring) baddies with purely evil motivations.
The relationship between Peter and Rose is nice. Could the story have worked without the romantic love angle? Yes. Could we have done without the heavy petting / possibly-alluding-to-dance-with-no-pants scene on the boat right when the intensity of the story and the stakes were very high? Most definitely. (Sorry, I usually hate that in action stories bc okay, if you could die in the next hour then why not, but also you have bigger fish to fry right now, folks!!). It was still nice though. They work as a pair and the chemistry was great. There was a sweetness to them that I really appreciated.
Enough people croak that it feels realistic, even if you’re still rooting for those miraculous, lucky saves that would end up making you think “they wouldn’t all make it if this was real” for the characters you like.
Background hints are given and there is a world outside the story (especially important for an action, conspiracy, thrill, run-from-the-gov type pieces that have the potential to feel very isolating and insular). But none of it is detailed excessively or used as a weird, unfulfilled diversion for the plot. It adds authenticity and stakes beyond the main thrust of the plot.
I cannot stress this enough: Rose essentially being like “I can’t hack EVERYTHING Peter, that’s not how the world works” and still needing to do physical, analogue, paper research. Yes, yes, YES!
Love that they didn’t take the comfortable way out and make Peter Sr’s shit be a part of this / another conspiracy and didn’t make things easy for Peter Jr. as a reward for everything he accomplished by the end of the narrative.
Every. single. time. Rose attacks someone.
**Bonus:
Rose and the Rome Tome nuts’ wallets? Perfection. The show’s capacity for quiet humour despite the action shenanigans is good throughout, but my god that early moment is never topped.
The Canada Post truck that cruises by in one of the most obvious shots I have recently seen of that happening for a show set in the US. Gotta love Canadian filming locations!
Cons:
The almost forced-feeling cursing and some overdone dialogue in the first couple eps. I’m not sure if I just got more used to it after or if it really did improve as the episodes continued.
A full emergency / med kit in the boat but they needed to crack open the liquor to sterilise the wound? What the hell?!?
Whatever the fuck was going on with the assassins in that hotel room re: her riding his hand like a rodeo participant. The impotent thing is fine, it brings something interesting to their dynamic and his character as a whole (although we certainly don’t like the possible implication that this adds to his heinousness or whatever because fuck that noise, THAT’S not why he’s a monster!) but the sex scene itself felt unnecessary AF.
Umm, on that note, creepy-eyes assassin lady? Stealing a baby and raising it rather than conceiving and birthing and raising it would still make you parents, and the kid could easily still end up as fucked-up as you’re imagining, even if it doesn’t share your genes.
Disregard my earlier comment about the benefit of so many people being knocked off; Cisco was an unacceptable loss and I want him to be not dead.

Monster [Wendigo x Raeder]
DISCLAIMER!!! YOU CAN ONLY READ THIS BOOK ON WATTPAD AND AO3 UNDER @UrBigSocksSmell AND THE BOOK IS CALLED "Monster" UPDATES WON'T BE HAPPENING HERE ON TUMBLR ONLY THERE!!!
In your last moments before death, you make a deal with the Devil himself. To provide it with as much food as you can from your butcher job to save your life and the lives of everyone around you. Even if it knows the amount of food you can give it still won't be enough, it goes along with your plan for whatever reason of curiosity it has.
Monster [Male! Wendigo x Afab! Reader]
I update weekly on every Friday afternoon or Saturday morning/noon (CET time zone) depending on my schedule that week. I will inform you beforehand when I'm updating and if an update isn't happening that week.
You can read this book called "Monster" posted on the account @UrBigSocksSmell on different applications such as Wattpad, Ao3 and here on Tumblr. I recommend finding it on Wattpad since I'll update there before on any other platforms. It's my main hoe but don't snitch I'm cheating now, love♡
And special thanks to @a_non_ym_ous for inspiring me to write this. They wrote their own Wendigo book called "Heal me" which I highly advise you to read. It gave me motivation to write since it was such a cute monster romance. I'm only disappointed it had no smut in it but I'll probably include it in my own book. It might not be as good as you might think given I'm a fucking virgin but we'll see, we'll see.
Also, I made Y/N's parents their own characters. They aren't your real parents they are their characters in the story and you'll see why I mean that. If any of you have a problem with the uniqueness of what the have you can freely click off.
You are your own character and I do not own you(unless you're into that shit). I do not own any art used in this book, and possibly mentioned songs, places, or anything like that.
Please leave any sort of feedback. As a beginner author writing my first serious book it will help me a lot.
I don't know how to make a masterlist. You need a computer and mine is just dogshit trash so here is this.

this is going to be a wild ask... i'm reading comments on this silly twitter post ranking DC characters by misogyny( joker is in the " do not perceive women" category), and i wonder " is joker misogynistic???". he abuses women, but not because of their gender, right?? I AM NOT EXCUSING HIM GOD FORBID 😭 but are you misogynistic if you abuse everyone equally?( awful sentence) he will beat anyone to death, he does not care. sexual comments he makes regardless of gender as well. can you be an evil egalitarian 💀 i think he shapes his words and actions in a way that will hurt the most and for women characters it does mean some misogyny. but i don't think he uses it from a misogynistic stand, rather from 'convenient social tool for hurt' stand. his whole thing is valuing everyone else as worthless in the same way.
Alright, yeah, a bit of a wild ask :)) Sorry for the delay in response; I've sort of answered this already when addressing Joker's potential racism, so I will link you to that answer here.
The principle is pretty much the same. Yes, Joker is an "evil egalitarian" at his core; he uses whatever hurts the other person, no matter what it is, or how it comes across. He doesn't actually believe it-- he doesn't believe in anything. His whole schtick is the fact he thinks nothing has any inherent value. However... that's when he's written well. Like I mentioned in that post too, there are plenty of instances in which Joker is a vehicle for the writer's personal biases which can obviously include misogyny, or used as a Deus Ex Machina of evil ("Oh we need a horrible thing to happen! What's Joker doing nowadays"). But Joker's relationship with Harley is the biggest elephant in the room in this department. It was undoubtedly an abusive relationship, and Joker has been depicted as genuinely sexist especially in relation to Harley (and Barbara too), though perhaps even moreso since Harley's redemption arc began. In order to write stories that frame her as triumphing over her abuser, Joker had to become this particular type of horrible person, so her victory over him would be more impactful -- despite this not entirely connecting with previous characterizations. And yeah, you're right that Joker's abuse is canonically not limited by gender (though lmao, what a sentence). He's been shown to act in similar ways to male henchmen in comics like Joker: Year of the Villain or Harley Quinn: 30th Anniversary Special, as he did towards Harley. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter to him the gender of the person he's getting power over. He'll manipulate whoever he finds cracks in to his own advantage.
[sigh] However, the issue of sexism and misogyny in comics is such a big, insidious one. If you acknowledge that Joker is written with misogynist undertones, acknowledging everyone else is inevitable. Looking at the way Batman's character has been written certainly doesn't do him any favors either. His 'Brucie Wayne' playboy persona has treated women... less than ideal; and I'm not even getting into the whole "every woman he encounters is a love interest and wants to fuck him" thing. This is a famous and pervasive problem within DC comics (and not only)-- many writers are intentionally or unintentionally catering to a male power fantasy that a big segment of the fan demographic projects. You've got the skewering and inconsistent characterization of many female characters in the Batman universe over time (man, Poison Ivy suffered a lot), and the blatant oversexualization and "male gaze" problem in comic book art... to name a few. The issue of misogyny and sexism in comics has always been there, and is unfortunately a systemic one.

Im furious so i came here to vent and please dont take any of this personal, these words are not meant for you or kpop fandom
Im so fucking sick and tired of every OC in the fanfics who either doesnt wear skirts and dresses or always dresses in the most shortest revaeling clothes known to mankind. They are always the beer girls and the male OC always says they are the best and different because of that. She always either the tiniest skirts and shorts or the most form fitting craptops ever and the male OC is always either jealous of it or says they always look the best when they wear revaeling clothes which i find extremly sexist and fucking "writen by a man" but whatever because thats not my main point
I get that people are from different cpultures, different type of nations and everone can do, wear, drink, say, think whatever they want in their life but for fucks sake what is so wrong with "being like other girls"
In the story the author always "she wasnt like the other girls" "she wasnt like her pears" "she was different from people around her" in some ways, either they make the characters say these stuff about her or they just directly say it about her while introudicing her and its sickwning
WHY CANT WE BE A FUCKING WINE GIRL OR JUST ENJOY ROSES OR WEARING DRESSES THAT ARE NOT UNCOMFORTABLE WHILE SITTING
I repeat, i get that people like to wear stuff that are not "Christian" (i am NOT a Christian and im classified as a woc, im just using this as a term), they like to drink beer and stuff but do we have to be like them to be liked, loved, cared for by our choice of fictional man?
Like why cant we just be "normal" people who didnt had to go through some extremly traumatizing stuff that makes us stoic, cold and uncaring people, who just enjoys life without going extreme, who just likes both going to clubs and picnic at the outdoors with their friends but also reads some books before sleeping?
That was all over the place but to summerize, why the female ocs are always the same two or three storiotypes and they always have to be "different"?
That is one of the reasons why i turned back to reading kpop fanfiction because it has characters that are actually different than each other without being the sore thumb. And i dont say that making a sore thumb character is a bad thing, if the story needs a main character like that then of course we will read about it but it gets tiring and repetetive after reading the same character for hundred times who always acts the same way even tho the author changes and she doesnt have to say some either really rude stuff or "pick me" things
Thanks for reading, i hope this wasnt too offending to anyone because that wasnt my intentiın
Also again, you can read or do whatever you want, but if the characters keep doing the same thing, saying the same thing, have the same or so similar histories then it will get boring and as a reader who reads several different fics from different fandoms its more than irritating at this point
See you when i have thots for Vernon and Wonwoo (im still in vern brainrot)
TEA WAS SPILT OMFGGGG ☕️☕️☕️
no bc i was talking w my friend about this the other day. the overused “she’s not like other girls” trope actually makes me sick. (unless it’s written in a way that’s not cringe, but that’s rare af)
and i agree you can easily tell when it was written by a man or a pick me woman HANSJSJS
anyways idk i think it’s ok to write “normal” or “typical” characters once in a while bc people just exist. not everyone has a tragic backstory or goes out of their way to “not be like other girls/guys”
ever since i got into kpop and reading ff it’s really made me become picky w books and what i read bc it’s too much of the same thing every time.

Story: 5/5 Smut: 5/5
Y'all! This was book cover is incredibly deceptive lmao. I knew there was going to be spice based on the summary, but the spice was super spicy. I loved every second of it.
It might seem slow in the beginning for some, but I feel like the build-up was worth it. Especially since the male character has a daughter and the main female character slowly wins over the little girl.
It's a very entertaining read and I highly recommend it. Now enjoy my random thoughts about it as I was reading it.
* Booby cam lol
* Any guy with two different colored eyes is immediately hot. It’s the rules. I don’t make them.
* Aww. I love Wanda. Horny old lady makes me laugh.
* I’m so curious as to why she gave up OnlyFans. Did someone stalk her..?
* Oh my god. They’re so awkward around one another lol.
* I.. do not like Iris. Why do I have feel like she’s going to use Aiden working a lot against him and try to get custody of her niece?
* I love these little snippets that we’re getting from their OnlyFans days. Aiden had a filthy mouth. I love it.
* They boned! It was.. definitely hot. I’m just kind of bummed she didn’t tell him that they know each other from OnlyFans before she let him cum in her 😂
* Aiden, Aiden, Aiden. Why the fuck am I blushing? 🥵
* So Cassie scored some pointed with Iris, but why do I get the feeling everything is about to come crashing down? I don’t want them to be caught by Iris lol.
* “I want to watch you use me. Because after that… I’m going to fuck you, Cassie.” — Mr. Reid!
* Oh my. Aiden likes to fuck. And boy is he good at it 😏
* So Iris is okay with whatever happening between Aiden and Cassie so long as Sophie is kept his number one priority. I’m okay with that! Now Cassie needs to confess about OnlyFans!!!
* Oh my god. Wanda!! 🤣🤣🤣 — “Am I a horrible person?” // “For which part: sleeping with your boss, or not telling him he used to watch you diddle your skittle on camera?” — I’m fucking dying. I can’t with this woman.
* Oh fuck, oh fuck, oh fuck. He felt her scar!
* So with the way he fucked her, it’s safe to say he isn’t all that mad about her keeping OnlyFans a secret 👀😂
* They told his daughter they were dating! And she was okay with it 🤗 So okay, in fact, that she called on keeping Cassie as a nanny if they ever broke up 😂
* Wanda teasing Aiden is the best thing ever lol.
* Oh shit. She’s slipping back into her OnlyFans persona for him 😨 He bought her a toy 😏 Why is this so hot?!
* It was going so well. Poor Wanda. And now Iris is going to be on a rampage. I just know it.
* Cue the rampage. She even threatened to take Aiden to court!? What an asshole.
* Fuck, Cassie. Please don’t leave 🥺
* And now I’m crying. I hate this book.
* I like Iris and Cassie’s heart to heart, but I’m still heartbroken!!
* Sophie! She reunited them with her little disappearing act. I love this little girl.
* Oh my god. I need more of Aiden and Cassie! I love this book so much.

Since my city, town, whatever you consider where I live... Since where I live is a small area where most people actually know each other (in a bad way), I think we might be a poor area. A lot of those subjects that you mentioned are not in my school.. Like back when my parents had been in school, they had workshop classes but our generation did not have it. Mostly for safety reasons. But my younger cousin who lives in the next town over, her classes were completely different than mine - back when she was still in school too. And she was in more advanced class too. She was more intelligent for someone of her age and grade.
All I know about the Great Gatsby was whatever parody the had in so many shows. But I've never actually read the books so I can't actually comment about that. I need to start reading manga again though.
~
Now I'm getting annoyed. How is it that there are so many characters in the Alice In Wonderland stories. Yet I can't seem to pick any of their characters? And I don't know why! There's a possibility that one of my characters would be a female equivalent to Alice, as opposed to Arisu being the male Alice. That could be one character. Obviously there's a dormouse character.. I'm trying to avoid using the dormouse if I could be able to, but that doesn't seem likely though. I don't know. Unless.. I recreate my own versions of characters (like Alice, Hatter, Hare, every one else who's already taken by canon characters). And obviously I do know there are the talking flowers which could be potential character. And.. There is the crow! In general, I do have a male original character whose animal motif is crows (and ravens). Worst case scenario then, I could use him for Borderlands as a character. But I can't ever imagine him being shipped with anyone romantically, maybe platonically but I can't see him in any romantic ships though. So there's that. There's all these characters. But I can't seem to choose. I know there's Lily being White Queen's daughter, but that could change to Ann's sister. But I'd say that I wouldn't know what the romantic ship would be for her (so I would say that's the same as your problem). Unless she's not shipped in a romantic relationship. Mary Ann is Alice's doppelganger. And the other characters Dodo, Lory, Eaglet, Duck do not seem appealing for any of my characters. Same with the Mock Turtle. The Gryphon could be a potential character for me. Maybe. I don't know. There is also the Lizard too, but Tettsu (was that his name) was basically the lizard, so I don't know if that could be a character for someone. Obviously. There was the Jabberwocky, the Jubjub Bird, even the other characters too. I don't know which characters I would want to create. What the fuck.
If I ever do create a mouse (or rat) character, then they could really be the smallest character. One of the smallest characters. That's what I'd do. I can't blame you for that.. And I still don't know which face claims I would use either. So that's another problem for me. What the fuck.
I had plenty of ideas before! I don't know why I'm stuck on ideas now..
Wait! Usagi's actress was shorter than Nijiro? But then again, they are only together in like three scenes. And they're not standing together... And Heiya's character would be shorter than him but they have never had scenes together either. Poor Nijiro being stuck with taller women.
Well.. I found out disgusting trivia that I wish that I never knew of, this is when I was searching about dormice. Apparently in some countries throughout the world, eating dormice is considered a delicacy. So ew. This is exactly why I'm a vegetarian. I would rather eat people, instead of animals. Seriously. That's not a joke either. I can't eat animals at all.
But yes. I knew that dormice are a combination of mice and squirrels.
There are the flying squirrels. They're adorable baby faced squirrels in my opinion. And.. I remember one of my favorite musicians had those kangaroo rats as pets. Kangaroo rats are also really adorable to me.
I was just looking at pictures of kangaroo rats. Until that experience is ruined for me.. A snake eating a baby kangaroo rat. I'm hating snakes.
That ruined my day.
Anyway.
Sugar gliders are adorable too. That's even another animal you should research about. Little flying baby marsupials. They have baby faces.
I've always wanted an exotic pet. But I also knew that I could never be able to give them the proper care they need though for every reasons.
I still haven't worked on the games yet. Mostly because I haven't even had the chance to work on my characters yet.. I'm really stuck on that right now. And I don't know why I'm so stuck on that either. But I am.
Joker Hearts? Oh! Jack Of Hearts. I don't know why my mind went to Joker. I just woke up though. What was Jack Of Clubs again. Because my mind is blank at the moment. Have I told you have much I'd hated The Beach? Seriously! That's a whole dictatorship. I need my privacy.
The Ten Hearts makes sense since everyone at the Beach has to keep participating in that game. Until they died, or beat the game. Which is making sense for that game. I don't know about any other games yet.
I realized that everyone who has a dormouse character always named her Nezumi. Which.. I guess makes sense. Nezumi means mouse and rat. And most Borderland characters have names with some themes.
Oh! I've noticed throughout different versions of Alice In Wonderland, the mouse always has either insomnia or narcoleptic disorders for the sleeping disorders. If you still decide to have disorders for the mouse.
Well.. True. That depends on the model. Or modelling type. Because a fashion model has different shapes and sizes to them, and an athletic model would have muscles. Unless you're those celebrities who could work in other careers like acting and modelling; or even musician and modelling; sometimes actor, model and musician all at the same time too. Depends on the celebrity though. Because everyone's different in that way. About every model have different shapes and sizes to them.
That's right! I remember reading he became a psychologist but I have remembered thinking gamer designer would have made more sense.. Because of his love towards video games. And that, like Niragi, I think he should have also became gamer designer but he never did though.
~
"i wish i could just plug in and put my thoughts down on paper without having to actually write it, but nope. gotta use my brain to figure out words. struggles of being a writer i suppose." Not including the stupid artificial intelligence machines taking jobs (or even careers too) away from people. Because I will never use those machines at all.
~
Maybe the don might make it out alive? I don't know. Because it does seem like everything could happen now.. But the don should've really been intelligent enough to have changed the routes after firing others (like the drug dealer friend). Or should've had him killed. Because this proves that his drugs and money were taken from him, his emperor is basically gone now. So if he does live, who knows what would happen to him then. And he's back to thinking with his dick again. He's stupid about things. So why does he keep trying to ruin his life by doing this.
Oh! That may be a plot twist... The two cops, the husband and wife, is distrusting of each other at the moment. Maybe one dies or gets very severely injured protecting the other but possibly ends up living, after the ending wraps up. They confess their feelings, that they'll still trust them and love them until they die. Basically. Actually.. That is not that much of a plot twist. But still. I could see that happening. But the cop is in too deep. Like I could see that he had to kill someone for anyone, like the boss, to trust him. But killing that many people is not really so much a good thing. He might need therapy if he makes it out alive.
And now the cop has to kill his boss? So that means he'd have to kill a lot of the other guys, like the knife guy, before they even tell the don.
The semi-competent cop? Wait! What. What happened? I'm confused now. I might be losing track on some things again.. I don't know now.
Hopefully the gunshot was towards the drug dealer or knife guy since the whole situation is completely fucked for both sides now. So yeah..
- 💋
that’s why i went for the easy ones in the dormouse and the talking flower. the card soldiers were technically the whole militant faction, so he’s not that difficult either. tho technically i could make him the actual knave if i’m making aguni the hare. he already has a food tie-in (with the knave being accused of stealing the queen’s tarts), is a card soldier, and i could see him getting on mira’s nerves.
i think the mock turtle and the gryphon could make good duo characters. like karube and chota as the walrus and the carpenter, and those two beach girls are the tweedles.
tettsu? wait, tatta? tettsu is the h&l character.
i’m using havana rose liu as the dormouse, she already looks very petite so i dont think it’d be too unbelievable to make her a bit shorter than she actually is. don’t have to change yuki yamada’s height for the card soldier tho. him being very slightly shorter than both niragi and karube is exactly what i want for the character.
tao tsuchiya is 5’1 and nijiro is 5’6! so a couple inches shorter. and yea, heiya’s about 5’3 iirc? hence why she also worked for hinami since she’s shorter than takeshi.
bleugh. i had the same reaction when i found out people eat guinea pigs. like i know it’s a different culture thing, like eating bugs in other countries but it’s still icky to me and i don’t think i could do it.
sugar gliders are like The squirrels of australia since we don’t have any native squirrels ourselves. i think i’ve only seen one in real life, i’ve seen more possums. australian possums are so much cuter than american possums. bushtail possums are just. lil babies. i remember feeding them bananas when they came around my auntie’s farm.
i want to figure out a water based game for my dormouse. for the whole ‘hatter and hare stuffing the dormouse in a teapot’. i know heiya got one, but i want one too. there’s aquariums and public pools in shibuya. i dont have an idea yet tho.
the jack of clubs was a brief scene in the game montage, it was a rope climbing challenge where you had to knock the jack’s team off the ropes while not falling yourself.
i liked the beach for the set-up and the characters. not the whole rules of the situation and the swimwear thing and hatter arbitrarily adding in the ‘death to traitors’ rule because he was starting to lose his mind. the characters tho. thank u beach arc for all my favs.
my first dormouse was named nezumi, then her first name was changed and her surname became yamane (which means dormouse. but was also the name of one of the characters in the distance game, which i did not realise until i rewatched the episode). now her surname’s nezuo, meaning ‘rat tail’.
fun fact! koma’s name uses the kanji for ‘chess/game piece’!
~
i’d never use ai for writing. like i still want it to be my own words. i just want to be able to physically pull them out of my head and slap them into a word document without having to do the actual writing part.
~
last episode!!!
the knife guy shot the cop’s friend and figured out the cop was the rat in their gang!! meanwhile the bossman’s ex-friend came back and they’re all turning on each other! the gang’s falling apart! the boss’ two friends betrayed him to the semi-competent cops (not the main cop’s team)!! boss’ getting arrested - by the wrong people!! - and it’s only 10 minutes in!! and the wife saw!!!!! let my man go!!
the cop crashed into the car the boss was getting transported in!! because if he gets arrested by the wrong people than the cop’s whole investigation was for nothing!! don’t think he even for a second considered the fact that he just committed another crime by using his car like a battering ram against the two other cops in the car!!!!
the cop’s team are lying to him and telling him that his friend didn’t die after getting shot!!!! but that man is hella dead!!
the boss’ friends have taken over the gang, but the cops gave arrested all of their dealers so they can’t get the drugs out to sell then. the associate’s bodyguard showed up to get their money because they haven’t been paid yet and apparently he’s just been carrying a hatchet around with him??? because he whipped it out of his jacket to threaten the boss’ friends.
the associate met with the boss’ friends and she does not give a fuck. immediately calls them out for betraying their boss, and just wants her money. she’s still working with the cop and scheming with him!
the semi-competent cop knows the cop’s real identity!! AND HE TOLD THE ASSOCIATE!! she called the cop to try and find out if he had any genuine feelings towards her and he was still nice to her and warned her to not go back to where her father’s gang is (because he knows chinese cops are laying in wait to arrest them all).
SHE STILL CARES ABOUT HIM DESPITE THE LYING AND SHE STABBED THE SEMI-COMPETENT COP IN THE NECK WITH A STEAK KNIFE!! it’s so sweet how much her bodyguard cares about her. he warns her not to go back to china because her father will kill her for ‘messing up the drug deal’ (not her fault btw) and he wants her to survive.
the boss’ friends made the drug deal and got the money. and the cop’s team got the name of the ship that the drugs are getting transported on. AND THE COP HANDCUFFED THE BOSS TO THE STEERING WHEEL OF HIS CAR!! AND FOR SOME FUCKING REASON DIDNT TAKE THE KEYS????
the boss’ sad lil face :( :( everyone stop betraying my boy pleASE :( :( :(
the cop’s team rolled in to arrest the boss’ friends and the boss was freaking out in the car. BUT THE COP LEFT THE HANDCUFF KEY IN THE CAR TOO??!!! AND THE BOSS JUST DROVE AWAY!!? WHATS HAPPENING?!!
all the gangs across china, japan and korea arrested a bunch of their respective gang members, including the leaders - BUT NOT THE BOSS OR THE ASSOCIATE. THE ACTUAL BOSS IN KOREA WASNT EVEN MENTIONED AND HIS LAND DEVELOPMENT THING GOT CANCELLED BECAUSE HE LOST ALL HIS GD MONEY WHEN HIS FRIENDS FUCKED HIM OVER!!!
the cop and the wife are back together but they’re still. awkward.
THE BOSS WAS WAITING IN THEIR HOME!! WITH THEIR WEDDING PHOTO!!! HE LOOKED SO SAD AAAA HE POINTED A GUN AT THE COP AND THE WIFE TOLD HIM ‘NOT TO MAKE ANY MORE WRONG DECISIONS’! AND HE SAID THE ‘WRONG DECISION’ WAS ‘LETTING GO OF EVERYONE WHO WAS WITH HIM TO PROTECT THE TWO OF THEM’!!! HE REALLY TRUSTED AND CARED ABOUT THEM!! also ‘the two of them’. that’s like. a lil bisexual of u.
THE BOSS ASKED WHY THE COP LET HIM GO, AND IF THE WIFE WAS EVER GENUINE WITH HIM OR IF IT WAS JUST FOR THE CASE! BABY P L E A S E
‘i may be a sinner, but you used my trust to deceive me. isn’t that a sin too?’ G O D!!! HE REALLY DID CARE ABOUT AND TRUST THEM!
THE BOSS WAS GOING TO KILL HIMSELF BUT THE COP SHOT HIM FIRST! HE’S STILL WEARING THE NECKLACE THE WIFE GAVE HIM! THERE WAS A CLOSE UP OF IT COVERED IN BLOOD! THE COP WAS STILL WEARING THE WATCH THAT WAS A SYMBOL OF HIS CONNECTION TO THE BOSS - EVEN THO THE CASE WAS OVER!!! THERE WAS A SLOW ZOOM OF HIS WEDDING RING DOWN TO THE WATCH. INSANE.
the cop got his fucking promotion. whatever. was is fucking worth it, man? your cop friend is dead and your relationship with your wife is fucked. congrats.
THE BOSS FUCKING DIED. F U C K.
stop. no. what the fuck. he put his LITERAL ACTUAL FUCKING WEDDING RING on the boss’ GRAVE with the NECKLACE HIS WIFE HAD GIVEN THE BOSS. what in the bisexual hell is happening here.
THE MIDROLL CREDITS SCENE IS LITERALLY THE BOSS AND THE COP WALKING ALONGSIDE EACH OTHER AND SMOKING TOGETHER AND SMILING AT EACH OTHER. LITERALLY WHAT IN THE BISEXUAL HELL. they should’ve kissed wtf.
anyway. no season 2 ig since loverboy is dead, but wi ha joon was as excellent as expected.

I've just finished the fourth book of acotar, here's what I think of it. Spoilers obviously
Acotar as a series reads like a fanfic imo. feyre, which is a funny name because like most of the characters are fae, and feyre becomes fae so. It's a lil on the nose lmao. Anyway feyre is 19 at the start of this which I feel like is not nearly old enough.
She's real special, she gets a lil bit of every power of all the courts so she's like the avatar (atla not blue ppl). This irks me the wrong way because like, of course she'd be the avatar and she's married to the strongest man ever and she's super duper powerful and yadda yadda. I don't like her character arc. Like the first book sets her up as a girl who taught herself to hunt to survive and she's very strong and she's super swag, and then I feel like she just becomes like a Mary Sue. Like her figuring everything out under the mountain vs her just like, water bending and shit is such a contrast. She used to have to use her brain and now she can just "magic go" and it's over. She doesn't feel super complex once the whole mating business gets going.
Oh yeah, the mating business.
The most uncomfortable and awkward part of this whole series, the mating business. It's not quite omegaverse but good gods it's close. Everyone is now "males" and "females" which is just. Why?? I get they're not human but like "boy" and "girl" or "man" and "woman" is just. Idk, "male" and "female" is very Alpha Male Speak if u know what I mean.
So feyre is the mate of Rhysand (? these names are a nightmare) who is the aforementioned Most Powerful Man Ever, and they do sex like way more than they need to. And it's even worse because of the whole mating thing, gods I hate this whole concept so much.
The sex is not even that good, it's not very well written and for some reason the author doesn't say things like penis or vagina or pussy or dick or whatever, no no. It's, and I quote, "the length of him" and "the center of me" it's so silly. I'm violently asexual so maybe that's why I think the sex is so poorly written, but I've read better sex in fanfic I didn't read all the tags for, yk?
Anyway, moving on from the whole, mating sex thing, which is hard because feyre being Rhysand's mate is like a major plot point all of the time and I think that's silly, but anyway, the final battle was like, ok.
It was fine, it had like 8 climaxes, like what with the bone carver and his fam and the whatever was at the bottom of the library and the human ships and the other kingdoms and unleashing armen and going to the cauldron and ???? Idk it was not a very concise battle is all I'm saying.
Her sisters also become Powerful Fae which I suppose makes sense because of the whole dunking in the cauldron thing but it just feels cheap. Like they didn't earn that! At least feyre earned her avatar state, kinda, cause of under the mountain but these gals were a wrong place wrong time and now you're op situation which is just, so unsatisfying.
And the killing of the dad was odd too, cause like he was barely a character, he had like 4 lines I don't know why he had to die. I don't miss him is all I'm saying.
And then they all live happily ever after, or maybe not idk I don't have the fifth book yet.
It feels like a self insert story, like, "this is my character and she's so cool and powerful and all the boys love her and she's the only thing that can save the world"
It's a fine series, it's like a 5/10 for me. Too much sex, too much rape as a normalized thing that happens because "that's how it be idk what to tell u" and far too much like, just, yucky yucky stuff. Anything to do with mates just seems rapey to me, like the entitlement of it all, which is referenced and touched on in the book so I'm not making that up. And by the end of the fourth book feyre is 21, she can legally have a drink in the us, and she's fucking this guy who's like 500 years old which is GROSS!!!
It's Gross ok I said it.
The romance itself is sweet, I suppose, it was fine. I like Lucian as a character, I like Armen and Az and Cassian, Mor is fun too, and I like how Nesta keeps being an asshole, that's good, but at the end of the day, I suppose it's not my cup of tea.
I'll read the rest of the books when they're available to me but I'm not gonna be thinking about this story or it's characters much at all.

“After Fredrick, after Gaskell and then after Cameron” man they really did stack up on murderers for several years straight despite no one enjoying it. Fredrick ok that’s understandable if Americanised. Gaskell was ableist drama mongering that wasted a great actor and was afraid to go where it really wanted and needed to on multiple levels so stuck to superficial ooo scary crazy Frankenstein doctor crap. Cameron was totally inexcusable racist sexist duckers though and the straw that broke it all
They really did. 😩 The Fredrik storyline was very well done and I feel like it actually leaned into the fact that it was unrealistic and wouldn't happen - in-universe it was treated as a massive, shocking deal that nobody could have possibly expected and it was all over the news. You certainly can't say that for the next hospital shooting (the one when Jac left - and the fact that I feel the need to clarify that to jog people's memories it happened at all says a lot), and honestly you can't really say it of the current Casualty school shooting storyline either (I mean, sure, it's been treated as a shocking thing no one would expect, but only because Ollie and Rob were the shooters, not because there was a school shooting).
The Gaskell storyline aggravates me so much because it really could have been great if they'd actually just... addressed any of the stuff that needed addressing (John's background, whatever the fuck was going on with him and Henrik and Jac, Johnrik, etc.), and if they'd kept it at John taking the trial too far in a desperate attempt to save the daughter of someone important to him instead of throwing murder in there for no reason. If they'd kept it more similar to the Plastics Scandal than to the Fredrik storyline, it would've been fine.
Instead, we got needless sensationalism, the show reminding us "hey, psychotic people are scary and evil!" at the same time as having the fucking audacity to go around promoting how "aware of mental health" they were just because they happened to be doing a decent depression storyline with Sacha, and Henrik and John barely being allowed to even share scenes because the show was too scared of letting Henrik be recognised as bisexual. Oh, and don't forget the shoehorned "Roxanna never wanted David, it was Henrik she really loved!" stuff. :/ Just... ugh, fuck you Holby. There are only three reasons the Gaskell storyline had anything good or worthwhile in it at all: Paul McGann (who was trying his best to give John depth and complexity despite the awful scripts), Andy Bayliss (who was trying his best to give John depth and complexity when everyone else was just like "lol he's scary and crazy he doesn't need any personality beyond that"), and the Johnrik relationship (which was, somehow, incredibly complex and nuanced and fascinating despite the rest of the storyline being anything but).
Cameron... well, yeah, he killed the show. What is there to even be said about Cameron except for that? Holby fucking revolved around him for literally three entire years, and they kept bringing him up even after killing him off (the fact that the sixth-to-last ever episode of Holby still revolved around Cameron is just beyond words) - despite the fact that they pretended Gaskell never existed the minute his storyline was over, to the point of ignoring him, Henrik's original male love interest, during HENRIK'S COMING OUT STORYLINE. So many female characters (Chloe, Nicky, Skylar, I could go on) and male characters of colour (I miss you every day, Zav...) were sacrificed to Cameron, either being written out because of him or having all their storylines revolve around him. (It's still disgusting that Chloe's rape was nothing but a plot device to kickstart the serial killer Cameron story.) The Cameron storyline is very close to being the worst thing Holby ever did. The only reason it's not is because the Reyhan storyline, Jac's breakdown storyline, and the finale exist.
And all this just because they thought “hey, Group Animal was successful, obviously people want a million more murderous doctor storylines!!”. As though the reason Group Animal was successful was because it featured a doctor murdering people, when in fact it was so beloved because it was well-written, the storyline made sense and had been built up to, and the acting was brilliant.
