SLUT!
chapter eight: dying to see how this one ends
series masterlist
Tumblr media
Following the fight, Peter saw the back of a squad car for the first time. He was taken straight to the local police station while few officers stayed behind to get stories from witnesses in the gym.
At the station, Peter was put in a holding cell and given an ice pack for his busted knuckles. After half an hour of sitting alone, the door to the cell opened and Brad Davis was pushed inside. He had two tissues stuffed up his nose and a black eye forming on his right eye. The boys made eye contact but felt too defeated to fear the other.
“What are you doing here?” Peter asked when Brad plopped beside him on the bench.
“What do you think? The police showed up and one of the soccer girls showed them the video of me saying I slipped something in Y/n’s drink. I can’t believe it. Did you know that’s a felony?”
“Uh, yeah.” Peter said flatly. “You’re really not supposed to do that.”
“How was I supposed to know? I’ve never done it before.” Brad mumbled. “And I wouldn’t again.”
“Would you really never do it again?” Peter asked skeptically. Brad was quiet for a minute and stared off at the wall. Peter silently handed over his ice pack and Brad accepted it with a sarcastic smile. He put it on his black eye and sighed.
“I don’t know. I don’t know why I’m so angry all the time. Or why I let it ruin my friendship with Y/n. Have you ever wanted a girl so badly that you start to hate her?”
“No.” Peter said without hesitation.
“Oh.” Brad said and turned away from Peter.
Another 30 minutes went by and Peter was starting to spiral. He paced back and forth in the cell while chewing his nails.
“What’s taking them so long?” He whined.
“They’ll get you when they’re done booking you. Don’t freak out. It’s annoying.” Brad mumbled.
“Of course I’m freaking out. If I get convicted, I’m going to jail.”
“Relax. You’ll be fine. Assault is a misdemeanor. And I’m sure your scrawny ass is a first offender so you’ll get a fine at best.” Brad rolled his eyes.
“Woah. How’d you know that?” Peter stopped pacing and looking at Brad in surprise.
“Ive been arrested for misdemeanors before. My dad just bails me out.”
“Which I’m sure he’ll do this time.” Peter rolled his eyes and sat back down.
“No. I called him when they brought me in but my mom answered.” Brad said as he looked at the ground.
“What did she say?” Peter wondered when he saw how distant Brad sounded. Brad turned his face away from Peter and rubbed the back of his neck.
“She said her best friend in college killed herself after a boy told everyone she gave him an STD. She said she couldn’t handle the bullying.” Brad said quietly. Peter stared at him for a minute and debated making him feel worse. There was a lesson to be learned here and Peter needed to know Brad understood the gravity of his actions.
“You could’ve done the same to Y/n, you know.” Peter said in a soft voice. He wasn’t being accusatory, just honest.
“She never would’ve done that.” Brad scoffed but Peter could tell he didn’t believe himself.
“How do you know?” Peter asked. “You didn’t know her. And you didn’t let anyone know her either. You told everyone who she was and they believed you. You erased her. She very well could have hurt herself to take her name back.”
“I didn’t think it was that bad for her. It was just a joke.” Brad said after a long beat of silence.
“To you. To you, “slut” was just a word. To her, it was her entire identity. All because of you.” Peter told him, feeling angry again. He wasn’t worried about protecting Brads feelings anymore. Now, he wanted him to take some accountability. Brad was quiet for a minute as he thought about the way he treated you the past few years.
“The first time I called her a slut, I didn’t realize how easy it would be to do it a second time.” Brad admitted.
“Me either.” Peter realized and pictured your face the time he called you a slut. He blinked back tears as he replayed the night he lost you. Brad noticed Peter was tearing up and felt himself get emotional. He cleared his throat and tried to choke it down but he couldn’t stop the tears that threatened his eyes.
“I didn’t think I’d end up like this. I didn’t think I’d be this guy.” Brad said quietly.
“You don’t have to be this guy forever. You can change.” Peter told him.
“How?” Brad shrugged helplessly. “She’s never gonna forgive me.”
“She might not. But you can still apologize. And then be better to the next girl.”
“What if I can’t be better? What if this is all I am?”
“I don’t think is all you are. Y/n told me you used to be a good friend.”
“She said that?” Brad asked in surprise.
“Yeah. So I know you can be better. You just have to try.” Peter told him. While Brad thought about the conversation, Peter heard footsteps approaching the cell. He looked up and saw May walking up with an officer.
“Hey, jailbird.” May said while a tight, very sarcastic smile.
“May?” Peter got up and walked over to her.
“Come on. They said I can take you home. Isn’t that nice? I get to take my nephew home from jail.” She said sarcastically as a the officer unlocked the cell. Peter got out and immediately hugged May.
“May, I’m so sorry. I can explain everything.”
“You don’t have to. She already told me what happened.” May said and pointed through a window into the station lobby. Peter could see you sitting in one of the waiting room chairs and blinked in surprise.
“She’s here?” He asked May in disbelief.
“Yeah. She’s the one that called me. The cops told me she got here right after you did. That’s your girlfriend right?” May asked. Peter felt his heart sink when he realized he had yet to tell May that you had broken up.
“What did she tell you?” Peter asked to change the topic.
“She said you stood up for her when the boys were calling her a slut. But why do I feel like that’s now the whole story?” May asked skeptically. Peter looked her in the eyes and sighed knowing he was about to disappoint her.
“Because it’s not the whole story. I called her a slut too.” Peter admitted.
“My nephew called a woman a slut? Is that how I raised you?” May asked and folded her arms.
“No. It’s not.”
“Then why did you do that? I thought she was your girlfriend?”
“Because I was angry. And I wanted to hurt her the way she hurt me.”
“Hm. I see. And did you feel better after you called her that?” May asked him.
“No.” Peter sighed. “I felt worse.”
“I thought so. Go apologize. Now.” May turned him around and pushed him in your direction. Peter wiped his sweaty hands on his jeans before going out into the waiting room. When you saw him coming towards you, you stood up and nervously folded your arms.
“Hey.” He smiled weakly.
“Hi, Peter.” You nodded curtly.
“What are you doing here?” He asked you.
“I had to talk to the police to give my statement about Brads party.“ You explained and left out the party about wanting to make sure he was okay.
“My aunt said you told her what happened. Thank you for that. I don’t know how I would’ve explained to her what happened.”
“You’re welcome. And I should be thanking you too. You beat the shit out of Brad for me. I would’ve done it myself but I’m a little more of a kicker.” You halfheartedly joked, making Peter relax a little.
“You don’t have to thank me. I should’ve done it the first time I heard him call you a slut.” Peter replied. You shrugged in agreement as Peter thought back to that night at the party.
“And you should’ve beat me up when I called you one.” He added as he stared at the floor.
“Yeah. Maybe I should’ve.” You laughed softly. An awkward silence settled between you and neither of you knew what to say. Luckily, it didn’t last long as May came out into the waiting room and stood beside Peter.
“Ready to go home?” She asked him.
“I guess I don’t have any other choice since I am definitely not allowed back on campus.” Peter sighed.
“Actually, they were going to expel you but since I saw Brad throw the first punch, they lowered it to just a suspicion.“ You told him. Peter looked at you curiously and you smiled timidly.
“But Brad didn’t-“ Peter began.
“A lot of people saw him start the fight.” You shrugged. “The school understood that you were just acting in self defense. So don’t worry. Your scholarship is okay.”
“You covered for me?” Peter whispered in disbelief.
“Yeah, well. You covered me first.” You shrugged and avoided eye contact. Peter broke into a smile and you finally looked into his eyes to smile as well. The moment was interrupted by Brad shouting from his holding cell.
“Y/n!” He called to you. You gave Peter a confused look before motioning for him to follow you to where Brad was.
“What do you want?” You asked him.
“I wanted to tell you that I’m so sorry. About all of it.” Brad told you. You looked at Peter skeptically before looking back at Brad.
“You’re sorry?” You doubted.
“I am. I never meant for it to go this far. I don’t expect you to ever forgive me but I just need you to know how sorry I am.” Brad apologized. You smiled at the unexpected apology and nodded your head.
“I appreciate the apology, Brad. That’s not something I ever thought I’d hear from you.” You told him. Peter smiled as he watched the interaction and hoped what he had said to Brad is what inspired him to try to be better.
“Now that we’re cool, do you think you could tell them I didn’t actually slip something in your drink?” Brad asked. “I’ll get kicked out of school if they convict me and my parents already said they’re not bailing me out.”
Your smile dropped when you realized the apology was just a way to gain your trust so he could ask for a favor. He didn’t actually care and he definitely hadn’t changed. Peter shut his eyes in disappointment and hung his head in shame. He thought his conversation with Brad would’ve had some effect on him but it clearly didn’t.
“Oh. You want me to tell the police that you didn’t do something that we both know you actually did do?”
“Yes. Please?” Brad pleaded as he rested his cheek against one of the bars.
“Oh. I get it. Kinda like how you told people that I did things we both know I didn’t do?” You asked and tilted your head to the side. Peter folded his lips to hold back his laughter when he realized what you were doing. Unfortunately for Brad, he hadn’t caught on yet.
“Yeah. Like that.” Brad nodded eagerly. You laughed warmly and nudged Peter, prompting him to laugh as well. Brad was a little confused but laughed as well and assumed you were going to take his side. Your laughter came to an abrupt halt as you faced Brad.
“No.” You stated.
“What? But you have to. I could go to jail.” Brad said and shook the bars angrily.
“And I hope you do.” You said simply.
“What? Come on. Don’t do this to me. Peter already got his revenge.”
“That’s right. He did. But I didn’t.” You reminded him. “And personally, I think there are enough pathetic, predatory losers in New York. Serving some time might knock those worrisome traits of yours loose.”
“You need to really think about this. If I go to jail, I could lose everything.” Brad whispered harshly.
“I lost everything.” You shrugged. “My friends, my dignity, my name. Now it’s your turn.”
“Don’t do this. I’ll get kicked out of school. And it’s impossible to get a job when you have a conviction. Especially for something like this. You have to help me. This will ruin my reputation.”
“At least your reputation will be accurate. Mine never was.” You replied as you looked him right in the eyes. Brads face crumbled and he found himself at a loss for words.
“Goodbye, Brad.” You smiled tightly and walked away. Peter followed after you and joined up with May back in the waiting room.
“Would you like me to drive you back to campus?” May offered as you all walked out of the station together.
“Thank you. But I think I’m gonna wander around the city for a bit. Campus is a little…hostile right now. I think I want to avoid all the attention for a little bit.”
“Well you are welcome to join us for dinner if you’d like.” She smiled kindly.
“I don’t think she wants to do that, May.” Peter mumbled. You made eye contact with him and exchanged polite smiles.
“Thank you again, but I think it’s for the best if I don’t. I would like to talk, though.” You said to Peter.
“Yeah. Of course.” Peter nodded. May got into the car to give the two of you some privacy. You and Peter stood facing each other but didn’t make eye contact. Peter didn’t know what to say, so he got straight to the point.
“Look, I can’t tell you how sorry I am that I called you a slut. And that I didn’t believe you at the party. There is no excuse for what I said and did. I was angry so I called you exactly what I knew would hurt you. I guess that I’m not as good of a guy as either of us thought. You deserve a gentleman. And I’m sorry I couldn’t be that for you.”
“It’s not okay that you called me that. But I forgive you.” You told him.
“You do?” Peter smiled in surprise.
“I do. If you hadn’t gotten Brad and his friends to admit what they had done, I never would’ve gotten my name back. I had people I’ve never even seen before apologizing to me. So if you can risk your scholarship to get my reputation back, I can forgive you.”
“I’d do anything for you.” He told you as he stared into your eyes. You could see how guilty he felt when you looked into his eyes but you couldn’t get him using that word out of his head.
“Where do we go from here?” He asked after a beat of silence. You put a smile on your face and patted Peters shoulders.
“From here, you’re gonna go eat dinner with your aunt. I’m gonna go get some food with my friends, since I actually have them now. And we’re gonna see each other on Thursday in class.”
“Oh. Right. Okay. I’ll see you in class then.” Peter smiled tightly and hoped it didn’t let his disappointment show. He started walking to his car when he heard your voice again.
“Hey Peter?” You called and he turned around.
“Yeah?”
“Thanks for getting your knuckles bloody for me.” You smiled at him.
“Anytime.” He smiled back. He got into the passenger seat of Mays car and waited until he couldn’t see you in the side view mirror before breaking down. May rubbed his back and said nothing as Peter cried in his hands.
“I love her. And I ruined it. I fucked it all up.” He cried.
“You don’t know that.” May said kindly. “You might still get a chance to make things right.”
“I don’t think so. She just wants to be friends.“
“I’m sorry, honey.”
“It’s okay. She could’ve written me out of her life entirely. At least we get to be friends now.” Peter said as he wiped his face. May frowned and cupped his chin.
“Let’s go home, honey.” May said. “It’ll be better in the morning.
In the morning, Peter woke up to an email confirming his suspension. He was allowed to return to campus a week later and when he did, he had everyone’s eyes on him. He kept his head down and made his way to the chemistry class he had with you. You exchanged friendly smiles with each other but that was it. Your relationship stayed in a sorta friends but sorta strangers area until the end of the semester. With one week until finals, you finally talked again.
“Hey.” You said as you caught up to him after class. Peter looked around the hallway for who you might be talking to and found no one.
“Me?” He asked.
“Yeah, you. I wanted to show you something.” You smiled coyly and handed him the test you had just gotten back in class. Peter saw a big “96” written on the top in red ink, your highest score yet.
“Woah, 96? That’s really awesome. Great job. I knew you could do it.” Peter smiled proudly and handed it back to you.
“Thank you. I never thought I’d actually pass this class. Turns out I just needed a tutor.” You said with a small shrug. Peter smiled fondly at you and nodded his head. He didn’t know why you were suddenly talking to him, but he didn’t mind it.
“You were always smart.” He insisted. “You just needed someone to explain it in a new way. I’m proud of you. That should go up on the tiny fridge in your dorm.”
“If I had a magnet or even knew where to get one, I would.” You joked. Peter laughed before a comfortable silence settled between you. You looked at each other for a moment before you took a deep breath and looked down at the test.
“So, uh, we have our final coming up soon so I was wondering if you were free to study together sometime? Maybe in the library?” You asked him.
“Oh, sure. I can definitely help you.” He nodded enthusiastically.
“Great, thanks. And maybe we can get some food after.” You suggested.
“Yeah. Totally.” He agreed.
“Like a date.” You added. Peters eyes lit up as he processed what you had said.
“You want to go on a date? With me?”
“I’ve been thinking.” You began. “You were the first person at this school who took the time to get to know me. And in that time, I got to know you too. I know you’re not a mean person. I know you aren’t like the guys who used to make fun of me. And I know I’ve said plenty of things in moments of anger that I wished I could take back. So I have a proposition for you.”
“Which is?” Peter wondered.
“If you ever call me that word again, we’re done for good. No second chances. But since I believe you’re sorry and wouldn’t do it again, I would like to give us another shot. What do you think?”
“I would also like that very much please.” Peter said immediately. You laughed at his quick answer and held out your hand. Peter took it and you walked down the hallway together. He walked you to your next class, just like old times, and stopped outside the door. You were about to say goodbye when he pulled you into a hug. You melted into his arms and hugged him back, closing all the distance that had grown between you.
“Thank you for giving me a second chance.” He said for just you to hear.
“I had too. I missed you too much for that to have been our end.”
“I missed you too.” He said as he pulled out of the hug but kept his arms around you. You looked into his eyes for a minute and smiled softly.
“For the record, I loved you too.” You told him. Peter gasped a little before breaking into a cool and collected smile.
“For the record, I was all in from the moment you borrowed my pen. Not that it’s a competition or anything.” He shrugged, making you laugh a little.
“You know, I still have that pen. It’s really good, too. Is that your thing? You give helpless girls pens and hope they’ll fall in love with you?” You teased him.
“That’s exactly what I do. You’re just the first it’s ever worked on.” He humored you.
“Oh yeah? And just how many girls have you given pens too?a rough estimate would be nice. I’d like to know who my competition is.”
“Oh, jeez. That’s hard to say. It’s gotta be hundreds of girls. Maybe even thousands. I’ve given a pen to more girls than you could ever imagine.“
“Wow. Thats a lot of girls to give pens too. I didn’t realize you were such a busy boy. Are you some kind of slut or something?” You asked with a slight gasp to poke fun at the reputation that used to weigh you down.
“I think I might be actually, yeah.” He sighed and shrugged his shoulder.
“I see.” You chuckled. “That must be why we get along so well.
“Wait, why?” Peter wondered and no longer followed the joke.
“Because.” You playfully rolled your eyes. “Takes one to know one.”

AITA for asking my parents to pay my tuition for the semester, lying about how I lost my scholarship, and then planning on lying to my dad regarding his requirements in exchange for him paying the tuition?
My (20X) college has a scholarship for offspring of faculty members, and I was lucky enough to have my application accepted by the college that my dad (53M) works at. This means that I get a full ride scholarship; if I graduate within 4 years, I won't have to pay a single penny to my college (books and supplies not included, of course).
Unfortunately, the scholarship does have two requirements; I need to have taken at least a certain amount of credits semester before (not a ridiculous number), and for that semester, I need to have gotten over a 2.0/4.3 GPA. Easy enough, right? Who can't get a GPA over 2.0?
Well. I suffered a mental health downfall the past semester and I ended up failing half my classes. I was unable to sit my finals. I know this wasn't smart of me, and I think I should've done something about my academic situation other than just wait for the semester to be over, but I had quit a semester due to my mental health decline previously and I didn't want a repeat of that. In any case, I got a GPA of about 1.6. I'm not on probation but I did receive a warning.
Fortunately, this doesn't mean I lost my scholarship for good. I just need to fulfill those requirements in the upcoming semester and I get it back.
I realized I did need to pay my tuition this semester two days before tuition fee acceptance closes and I debated telling only one of my parents. My mom wants me to finish college no matter what, and my dad has told me that he does not care anymore as long as I don't stress him out. He's also told me he no longer has any expectations for me whatsoever. I did also consider talking about it with my brother and borrowing money from him to put together the tuition fee.
I figured I'd bite the bullet and just told my dad, who I know has been stressed about my future and how badly I'm doing in college. I just casually dropped it as I was making breakfast for myself and then we had a lengthy conversation that my mother (51F) joined when she got back home.
I don't remember much of the conversation (I may have memory problems) but the AITA mentioned part is that I lied to my parents and told them I did sit all my finals and try my best. I didn't. I tried that for mid term exams but I had nothing to write, so for finals I didn't sit them at all. This happened with three of the classes I was taking. I just didn't take my finals. My dad was suspicious of my claim; he said that as a professor himself he wouldn't fail students who at least submitted homework and sat their exams to write anything at all, but I maintained that I tried.
The conclusion was that my dad would be willing to pay my tuition if I got my shit together and also deleted my social media, which he thinks is a drain on my time and energy. He's not wrong. I deleted my Twitter accounts immediately afterwards (which my parents don't know about) because I've been thinking about it, but I can't really bring myself to get rid of Discord, where so many of my friends are. People I've met while studying internationally, long-term friends who moved to other countries; Discord is the only way to contact these people.
This is the AITA part; if my dad follows up on that particular requirement to check if I deleted Discord, which he particularly dislikes (he has previously confiscated the electronics I bought with my own money that I earned, after he saw me on muted call at night with some friends), I plan on deleting the app/program on my devices but using it anyway as a website. This would be a betrayal of my dad's trust in me, but there's no love lost between us anyway. He's already told me he doesn't love me unconditionally. (Yes, I'm his biological child and he did raise me.)
I also feel like an asshole because I could've settled this with the help of my brother; I'd pick up a job during the winter break to pay him back, but it would have been done eventually. Or I could've just gone to my mom. She works her own job, and we could've figured it out together without telling my dad. I told my dad anyway, wanting him to pay the tuition, even though I knew that talking about having to spend money on his kids stresses him out deeply.
My mom also told my dad to go to therapy (in detail, so I know it wasn't just something she said as a throwaway thing) during the conversation. It did get heated. I don't disagree, but I don't know if that'd be okay; mental health is stigmatized where I am, and my dad as a grown adult man and a respected professor if seen going to therapy could have his reputation kind of effected. It wouldn't have happened if I just brought up this whole situation quietly up to my mom, or just my brother.
So I lost my scholarship, I lied to my parents about the technicalities of how that happened, and I'm asking for some amount of money from my parents but also planning on lying to them in regards to the terms they set out. AITA?
What are these acronyms?

Keeping Up With The Barzals
mat barzal x model!fem!reader
a visceral in doses fic (editorial edition)
warnings: mentions being parents, having insecurities, mentions vibrators, early issues in a relationship, hints at sex, and I think that’s all… let me know if I missed something. ALSO: this takes place in 2027, so they only have Nolan!
Tumblr media
Appealing, show stopping, the symbol that love doesn’t have to fizzle out with the pressures of success, or the responsibilities of true adulthood. I get the opportunity to interview the most famous couple to ever grace our social media feed. Y/n and Mat open up about their lives in the limelight.
Tumblr media
A very pristine woman who isn’t afraid to change things up and dirty her clothes, that’s Y/n (soon-to-be) Barzal. From dominating the catwalks to being the best mom she can be, Y/n is a layered masterpiece. Y/n will go to the ends of the earth for her family. If that means she’s helping organize charity events for her husband's hockey team, or turning away jobs to be present for her son, she’ll do it. When asked about it, she said it’s a major privilege to be able to turn away jobs for her kid’s sake and to be able to help raise money for the Islanders.
As a model who is this generation’s icon, she’s awfully real. There’s no hiding or pretending when it comes to Y/n. In my opinion, that’s what makes her so inspiring and likable to everyone. However, don’t confuse her privacy for lying. There’s been many instances when Y/n had to keep aspects of her life private to protect those she loves. Times when the audience wasn’t too kind about her choice.
“There was a time when many people thought I was never around Nolan when he was an infant. It seemed that everyone got used to me posting little updates on my Instagram story, so when it stopped people were confused. People thought that I just hired a nanny and was never around my son. It hurt to hear those speculations, especially because they were so far from the truth. Nolan got really sick. He was only 6, almost 7 months and he got really sick. Mat and I had no clue how he contracted his sickness, but it was scary for a little while. I stopped working for that time frame, and I followed Mat, with Nolan of course. Mat had to continue working, but I just couldn’t be without him while our baby was going through what he was going through, so I traveled to each location he traveled to. I of course posted Instagram stories and posts, because not all my days were bad, but I didn’t and wasn’t going to post anything about Nolan until he was 100% better.” Y/n goes into detail about one of those incidents where she went quiet about certain things in her life.
“So many people think it’s so easy to be productive and encouraged all the time. I go from personality to personality with each photo shoot I work on. Not because I’m trying to be fake about who I am, but because sometimes photo shoots require you to step out of the person you are, and it’s not always a bad thing, but lines do get blurry and your mind gets foggy. It’s actually easier to get lost in emptiness, trying to get your feet to touch the ground. I think that’s why I try so hard to be open with my supporters. I’m holding myself accountable all at the same time. Becoming a mother definitely helped me with some of the fog. Becoming a mother made me stronger. I’m always being my best self for my son. I am also always being my best self for my husband. They’re everything to me.” Y/n gives us a little insight on what it’s like to experience the not so glamorous side of a fast paced lifestyle.
Aside from being a mother and a model, Y/n is the person who is determined. No one has to write a story about her, because she’s already writing it herself. I’ve never come face to face with someone with such confidence that’s still so humble. Y/n knows how to cook, knows how to style any piece of clothing, knows how to love herself and others selflessly, and most importantly, she can write. If you’re asking why it’s important that she writes when just about anyone can write, I mean Y/n really knows how to write. I am lucky enough to have received early access to the first draft of her very first manuscript. The words this woman can write are amazing. That’s just putting it lightly. It’s important that Y/n is such a phenomenal writer, because she has the chance to share her wisdom and thoughts. I happen to think her thoughts can change, if not the world, at least one person’s life.
“Don’t make me seem like I’m all work and no play. I can be loose around all my edges.” Y/n states as we near the end of our interview. As I said, she’s continuously writing her own story even when my pen stops. After hearing her out, I’ve come to the conclusion that she is the life of the party that every 20-something year olds wants to be. She blazes a fierce trail of being true to her indulgences. If she’s craving an ounce of music to fill her veins, she’ll gather her best pals and partake in a night of clubbing. If she craves a big, private party, she’ll rent a huge yacht and let her girlfriends go wild. There’s no barrier that will contain Y/n. She breaks any bounds because for her, living life isn’t about being uniform or perfect. Being a mom, a role model, or just someone who is responsible won’t stop her from being who she truly is. That’s not to say that Y/n is a big time party girl, or that she doesn’t care about herself or her surroundings. She does care, she just knows when not to.
Tumblr media
Before kids, Mat and Y/n had one word to describe their relationship. “Sex.” They both splutter with laughter when they see the shocked look on my face. They assure me that “sex” isn’t the word they’d use, but I don’t think that sex is a lie to get a reaction out of me. It’s easy to see just how strongly they feel about each other. They’re playful and very teasing with one another. It’s all very sensual, though. You can feel the heat they radiate when their eyes connect with each other.
“Our relationship is chaotic. The type of chaos that makes you run in circles, pulling on your hair. The type of chaos that you search for when life loses meaning. The type of chaos that is unexpected, but welcomed and makes you feel alive. It’s scary, but only because it makes you feel so much. ‘Chaos.’ It causes pain and happiness, but the happiness is always there. The chaos makes us strive to be better. It makes our love timeless.” Y/n and Mat answer the question with a sureness that’s rare.
Speaking of being timeless, the envious pair are set to get hitched at the end of May. You may have noticed that they’re already referring to each other as husband and wife.
If you’re looking for tips on keeping things fresh, continue reading.
“We don’t force sexual activity. We also don’t plan it, we just let our feelings do what they do best. I don’t know if that’s because our connection is too strong, or for whatever reason we are usually in sync. Maybe it’s our constant teasing. We never go a day without teasing each other. It makes our touches, our kisses, more intense.” Mat explains.
“We also kiss a lot. We will never not kiss each other if that’s what we feel we should do. Lately, people have gotten used to hiding their affection, but they shouldn’t hide it. Embrace it, unless it really does make you uncomfortable. It’s actually so funny because I know Mat wasn’t really the type of person to be into PDA, but it changed when we got together.” Y/n chimes in.
“Yeah, that’s true. I never cared for PDA, but like Y/n said, when you feel it, you feel it.”
It’s honestly crazy that these two only have one child. When I told them that, they both laughed. Y/n was the first one to tell me that their baby boy would be their only baby for a while. Mat was unsure of her words, but nonetheless agreed with her.
The baby talk sidetracked our initial conversation of intimacy, but this type of intimacy between the small family is actually beautiful. They both went on and on about the throes and joys of parenthood. They were both surprised at the fact they were having a baby so early on in their relationship, but they told me it genuinely made their bond unbreakable.
Looking at the way their eyes always gravitate back towards the other’s, and their lingering touches that soothe their anxieties, it’s easy to see why they’re so desirable. It’s not about Mat being an attractive athlete, or Y/n being the most beautiful model, it’s the way they portray the feelings of love and passion.
Here’s their last relationship tip: “Don’t focus on finding the perfect person, or being the perfect person. Be yourself. I know it’s cliche, but be yourself. If you find THE one, they’ll always love you for who you are. Your passion and affection will never dim. If you’re feeling lonely, don’t settle for someone who doesn’t deserve you, just buy a vibrator.”
Tumblr media
The so-called ladies man who turns into a puddle at the sight of his wife, Mat Barzal isn’t who you think he is.
As an athlete whose privacy is a bit more respected than the average celebrity, we needed to do a deep dive on New York’s finest hockey player.
Rising to early stardom, the young hockey player was perceived way before he got the chance to grow up. Different outlets vaguely recalling Mat as the playboy, or even a wasted talent. They had no clue who they were writing about, that much is clear. Mat is wise, something he says he learned from Y/n, and he’s not some egotistical man, looking for power. Sure, he’s confident in who he is, but that doesn’t make him conceited. He’s actually smart, despite what stigmas have been formed on hockey’s best. He’s not a one track man.
“Hockey has always been a big thing for me. It’s probably one of my biggest accomplishments, winning the cup and just having outstanding numbers, but my accomplishments don’t stop there. I’m proud of the man I’ve become and the father I’ve become. It’s taken a lot to not get crushed under the words and expectations of people on the outside. I still struggle with ignoring the unnecessary noise. Sometimes it seems like no one’s realized that I’ve grown up. To them I’m still a young boy who received too much too fast. I just want to say that I’m not denying that part of me, but that part of me is also stagnant. I’m not a young boy. I’m a man, a man with a wife and son. I know I’m still young in age, but certainly not my actions. Don’t get me wrong I’m not some grandpa. I get out, I drink and I sometimes act wild. I also know when to be responsible because I do have a son and a wife, whose reputation can easily be reflected off my own reputation.”
Mat Barzal is someone to be proud of. He’s also someone who many want to be friends with; I don’t blame them.
“My party days? I don’t know if my party days will ever be over. My wife, who’s younger than me, is a smoke show. I want to take her everywhere, show her off. She’s the love of my life, why wouldn’t I want to, you know. She’s also keeping me young and active. She usually doesn’t like to go to parties alone, so I’ve become accustomed to attending them with her. Plus, my teammates know how to throw a party, too. I love going to those and so does Y/n. Ever since having a son, it’s been a little harder to party. If it’s a get together, we’ll most likely bring Nolan along because we know there will be other kids there. And no, we’re not drinking or driving with our son around, or in general. If we have Nolan with us, I won’t drink, just simply enjoy the vibes and get drunk off my wife and see her enjoy herself. If it’s just Y/n and me, it’s a whole different story. We will get drunk together, but we will make sure we have a safe ride home through our car service.”
An all-around easy going guy with a great sense of humor, and an undying love for his wife and son. Hockey does not define this man.
Tumblr media
For someone (Y/n) who’s so public about a lot of things, it really throws people for a loop when they’re out of the conversation about their relationship. I don’t even have to ask them about it, I see it all the time on Twitter. There are always questions about what’s going on, or if they’re even still together. The biggest speculation I’ve seen is that their relationship is all PR.
I honestly don’t understand the need for people to immediately demote a relationship to a PR one. It’s actually offensive, to the couple at least. I'm going to say it once, and once only, Y/n and Mat are not a publicity stunt. I feel that most people know that by now that they have a kid together, but if you didn’t know, now you do.
“We never thought our relationship would be such a big deal to many people, but anytime I’m not wearing islanders gear or pictured with barzy in the span of 1 minute, magazines are popping out new headlines by the minute. ‘Y/n and Mat: The Breakup of the Century,’ ‘Y/n no longer engaged to the hockey heartthrob.’ People live for us to say that our relationship is perfect. It’s not. That’s a fact. We’ve had so many issues in our relationship, not that we’d share all of them, but it’d just make everyone go ballistic if they knew. Something as complicated and beautiful as a relationship shouldn’t be dictated or have an opinion formed by people who know nothing about the couple and their history. Mat and I aren’t perfect; a big portion of our relationship has been built on our issues.”
Just because they’re a powerhouse couple, doesn’t mean they don’t have their insecurities. Talking with the couple, I learned a lot about how they feel like they have to hide their true feelings due to being perceived certain ways.
“A lot of fans expect us to be indestructible, yet they’re usually the ones tearing us down. I hate to admit it, but a lot of our fights have stemmed from actions of those watching us online. It’s not that we necessarily believe what they’re saying, but some of it lingers in the back of our minds. We then start to pull away and not talk about the way we feel. It’s going to surprise people when I say that Y/n and I have gone to couple’s therapy so early on in our relationship. It was a hard time that I wouldn’t change because it showed each other that we were in it no matter what. Thick and thin.”
“People might be bothered about what I’m about to admit, but I don’t really care. In the nicest way possible. Anytime I see someone talking negatively about OUR relationship, I post pictures of us. We can be doing the most mundane tasks, or out and about, I will post it to rub it in their face. Is it immature? Sure, to some. In all honesty, who wouldn’t show off their man if they’re as wonderful as barzy is. Sorry that y’all didn’t get to him first,” Y/n states, walking over to her husband and laying a passionate kiss on his lips. They’re clearly not bothered by the presence of others when indulging in each other.
a/n: This was something different for me to write, but I loved it and I hope y’all do too!!

consequences / neymar jr
pairing : neymar x reader
Tumblr media
When I said yes to Neymar after he asked me be his girlfriend , I didn’t realize all the criticism it would come with.
We met at my job - a jewelry store. He had went in looking to buy a birthday gift for his mom , I just happened to be the only available employee.
I didn’t know who he was at first , until after he had asked for my number and left. My co-worker basically screamed once I told her and she revealed to me who he was.
And after that everything was history between us. He was the best boyfriend I could ever ask for , the best partner I could ever have.
He had his own way of loving , and it’s one of the main things that made fall for him so quickly.
He’s easily a charmer.
On our first couple of dates he would always surprise me with small gestures - flowers , books that I had mentioned I wanted, small jewelry pieces , and much more.
I would always protest and insist how he didn’t have to buy me any of that stuff - that those weren’t the reasons why I accepted to going out with him but he would always brush me off , saying how he wanted to give me all these things.
He showers me with compliments any chance he gets , making me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world.
I also deeply enjoy his touchy side. Kisses everywhere - no matter where we are or what we’re doing. His hands somewhere on me at all times when we were together. He claims he can’t sleep properly through the night if I’m not there next to him - or wrapped in his arms.
But all that aside - he’s very attentive to me and my feelings.
He always makes my feelings valid , he always insists on talking everything out with me. I don’t think there was ever a time where he’s been unthoughtful towards me.
I was iffy at first - to open up to him about everything but he made me feel so welcome in his embrace , and I easily was able to tell him anything that would be wrong with me.
But today - that all changed. I had never dealt with hatred towards me like this before.
When me and Ney started our relationship I made it clear to him I still wanted to have a normal life - I didn’t want him to expose me to the media.
Sure he would post pictures of us , but none ever showing my face.
We thought we were safe up until 2 weeks ago when the paparazzi took a clear picture of me and ney outside his house.
I tried covering my face once I noticed the paparazzi but it was too late.
The media soon found out who I was through Neymars following - I made the stupid decision of not making my account private.
My co-worker had tagged me in a photo of a work party we had - also tagging the location. I’m guessing that’s how Ney’s die hard fans found my job.
Every day since then it was a lot more busy , people specifically requesting me to take their orders.
When the pictures got out to the public , Ney insisted I quit my job and just let him work for the both us - something he’s been trying to make me do for moths.
But me being me - I told him nothing about his fans going to my job and acted as if the paparazzi spotting us changed nothing in my life.
I now realize that was a stupid mistake.
Earlier today I was helping two girls who had walked in and came straight to me for assistance. One blonde and another brunette , both seeming to be around 16 or 17.
It was all going swell until the questions started.
“So Y/N - how did you manage to snatch Neymar all for yourself ?” The brunette asks.
“I don’t discuss my personal life with customers.” I tried to remain as calm as possible , giving them a small fake smile. This was the first time anyone had actually mentioned our relationship to me.
The brunette looks at her friend , turns back to me and laughs.
“No seriously - are you like a you know service girl of some sorts ?” The blonde asks me now, whispering the last part.
Is this what people think of me?
“Excuse me? I am not!” I fight back , trying to hold back any tears. I have no idea what to do or say.
“Come on , Neymar couldn’t have seriously chosen you for no reason - I mean just look at you. You don’t have much to offer.” The blonde continues , her eyes raking down my figure , gaze filled with disgust.
I shamefully look down. My hands start to shake and no words come out of my mouth.
The girls start to snicker to each other. I can’t make out all the words that their saying because of their low tone but I do hear the words -
“If I knew Neymar went for the first hooker he saw on the street I’d been on that street months ago.”
“Security ! Please escort there two girls out.” I finally get the courage to speak.
“What ? We haven’t done anything! We’re simply shopping for a pair of earrings.” The blonde says , putting on a fake voice.
I look up at our security - Marcus , me and him get along very well and he’s been very aware of all the fans coming in and out of the store.
I mouth a “please” to him , just wanting these girls gone as soon as possible.
“Ladies please do not make me drag you out of the store. The exit is that way.” Marcus firmly says.
The two girls look at me and roll their eyes before walking out of the store.
I grab all of my stuff from the back room and clock out , not caring to warn anyone about me leaving.
I get into my car and rush home. As soon as I step into the house I burst into tears , letting myself fall on the floor.
When I left the store I didn’t even check the time - 5 pm.
The exact time Neymar gets home from practice.
My mind was so fogged with everything that had just occurred I didn’t even have time to notice Neymar on the couch.
His eyes look up and meet mine. He rushes up off the couch and comes to my side.
“Amor what’s wrong ? Por que minha linda garota está chorando?” He softly says holding me in his arms. [why is my pretty girl crying ?]
I’m so dumb. I should have went to my friends house or something instead of coming here. The last thing I wanted was to tell Neymar about the humiliating things they told me at work.
I bring my hands up to my face and wipe my tears off , trying to get out of his tight grasp.
“It’s nothing Ney , I’m fine.”
“Y/N everything is obviously not fine. I’m not letting you go until you tell me what is wrong.”
“I’m serious querido , everything is fine.” I try to get the words out and put a smile on my face but my tears betray me.
My thoughts going back to what those girls said of me , making me cry ever harder.
“Look at me” he whispers.
I look up into his eyes , my vision blurry with tears.
“Take your time amor. I’ll wait here for you to tell me what is wrong , you know I am always here for you. What ever it is you are going thru I won’t leave your side.”
He won’t budge , and it’s no use to keep it in , im sure those girls will upload the conversation we had to the media and Ney will find out one way or another.
“These - these -” I try to get out but more tears end up falling.
“Breathe amor breathe , I’m here for you , I’m right here.” He whispers , kissing my temple.
I take in a deep breath and finally calm myself. Ready to tell Neymar everything that had been happening.
“Ever since the pictures got leaked there’s been more and more customers coming into the store , specifically requesting me to take their orders - I’m sure you can figure out why. Everything was fine tho , no one asked any questions just eyed me a lot and looked very excited to be assisted by me. Until today - these two girls came in and told me the most horrible things.”
I can tell he’s bothered by me not telling him about the customers coming in but I continue before he has a chance to scold me about that.
“They asked me -”
“God. They asked me if I was your whore. They said I had to be a worker in that department of some sort because there’s no way you’d choose me out of thousands of girls.”
“Y/N -”
“Before you get mad at me for not telling you about all the people coming into my job , I’m sorry I really am - I should have spoked up earlier. I now see you are right about the whole quitting my job thing.”
“Meu amor I could never be mad at you , specially over something like that.” He begins
“What those girls said is no where near true and we both know it. You know why I chose you-”
“Do I really know why tho? Why did you chose me Neymar? You could have any woman you want.” I interrupt , a wave of insecurity going over me.
He drops his arms from around me and helps me to stand up , walking me over to the couch. He sits down and grabs my arms causing me to straddle his lap ,bringing one of his hands up to the side of my neck and letting the other rest on the outside of my thigh. Reaching up he gives my forehead , cheeks , and lips a small kiss before speaking -
“I chose you because when I walked into that jewelry store my eyes went straight to you. I could not take my mind off of you for the next week after that. I had to make you mines. I found any stupid excuse to go back there and just speak to you.”
“You have changed my life im so many unexplainable ways Y/N. There’s no other woman that I could ever dream of when I have you right here - all for me. You are the light of my life. I love and adore every single thing about you , you have bewitched me mind and soul.”
“I like to believe you were made just for me because there is no other woman on this earth that can make me go crazy like you. I will continue to show you-”
He leans forward laying gentle kisses on my neck.
“Every single day-”
His hand on my thigh starts slowly finding its way to my clothed center.
All my thoughts from what those girls told me earlier completely vanished , my focus now being on Neymar’s words and his hands making every inch of my body hot with desire.
I can tell he’s doing this to take my mind off things and it’s definitely working.
“That you are -”
I can feel his hard on under me so I decide to move forward - just a bit to tease him.
“The most utterly breathtaking-”
His hand at my neck now making its way to my behind , giving it a tight squeeze , causing me to roll my hips forward onto him again.
“And perfect woman for me.”
His face comes up from my neck before he smashes his lips on mine , i kiss him back immediately with everything in me.
I pull away to look him in the eyes and wrap my hands around his neck.
“I’m tired of us hiding linda. Eu te amo , e você merece ser mostrada como a beleza que você é.” [I love you and you deserve to be shown of like the beauty you are]
“Eu te amo mais.” I say back pecking his lips.
“And okay amor you win. But I’m really going to miss our privacy time together.” I add.
His hand leaves my center and comes up to my behind , giving me a squeeze before picking me up , causing me to squeal.
“We can have privacy time all the time princesa, just give me a heads up , the answer is always yes.” He says smirking before carrying me up the stairs while ripping off all my clothes.
“You’re crazy Ney.”
“Only for you meu amor.”

How Does He Know Your Name? Matt Sturniolo x Reader One Shot
Summary: You go to the Let’s Trip tour and Matt knows who you are.
Word Count: 1236 words
Tumblr media
You and your best friend got to the venue early but, there were already 50 people ahead of you in line. You both had your Fresh Love sweats on and decided to take a selfie to remember this moment.
As the doors opened, you could feel your heart begin to race. You and your bestie had been waiting for this moment for months. You had Matt's name written all over your textbooks and he even followed you on Instagram. The Sturniolo Triplets had been a safe escape from reality for you and you couldn't wait to meet them - even just for a minute or two.
As you waited in line, slowly making your way toward the front, you could feel the excitement in the air. "I can't believe we're here", you whispered. "I'm going to pass out", your bestie replied.
It was about an hour wait and you got to talking with the people in line beside you. One girl had flown out from Utah, another from New York. You could imagine being friends with all of them if they lived here too.
There was a girl, maybe 9 years old, ahead of you in the line. She was with her Mom and you could tell that she was freaking out. She hadn't even met them yet and she was crying. "Are you excited to meet them?", you asked.
"I'm so excited," she said with tears streaming down her face. Her mom pulled her into a hug, reassuring her. Her name was Perrie and she was so adorable.
As you made your way around the corner you could see them standing, taking pictures against the tour-branded backdrop.
Perrie clapped her hands over her mouth and you were worried she was about to faint. She was next and she made her way over, bursting into tears.
You and your bestie were at the front of the line. You take a moment to take a deep breath and check your appearance on your phone camera - it'll do.
As Perrie left and you were both called forward, she waved back at you. A grin spread across her face and you couldn't help but smile too.
"Y/n?", Matt said. You froze on the spot. How did he know your name? He followed so many fan accounts, how come he knew you?
"Who's that?", Chris teased.
"Oh my god, is that y/n?", Nick asked, shocked. He seemed like he knew something everyone else didn't but, now was not the time to read into that.
Your bestie looked from you to Matt, and back to you. She was struggling to play it cool as she took your hand and you both approached the boys.
Chris was first, he opened his arms to you both and gave you a big hug. "You smell nice", he said to you. "I like your jacket", you replied.
Nick gave you a hug and as he pulled away he pointed at your Fresh Love sweats. "The green looks good on you", he said. The compliment felt natural and you began to blush.
You turned to Matt. "Y/n, come here," he said, and he pulled you into a hug. He swayed you from side to side, you could feel a smile spread across his face as his cheek pressed against yours.
"This is crazy", he said as he pulled away and gave your bestie a hug too.
You all got into position to take the photo. Your bestie stood between Nick and Chris. Matt pulled you against his side and wrapped his arm around your waist. With the click of a camera, that was it and you were being ushered away. You thought you heard Matt call out but, you couldn't be sure.
You and your friend found somewhere to sit while you waited for the show to start. In the back of the old venue, you found two chairs and sat in the dark whispering excitedly about what just happened.
"I can't believe he knew your name", your bestie whispered. "Did you see the way Chris looked at you?", you asked.
In that moment, you got an insta notification on your phone that read, "[matthew.sturniolo: Thanks for coming. It was great to meet you :)]".
Your heart stopped. You felt silly, you knew he was just being nice. Two notifications followed, "chris (christophersturniolo) started following you" and "Nicolas Sturniolo (nicolassturniolo) started following you".
You showed your bestie the notifications on your phone and she clutched your arm in shock. "Oh. My. God." was all she could manage to say.
As you were trying to process what just happened, a group of 3 girls walked over. They looked a little younger and you could remember them from behind you in the line.
"Are you y/n?", the brunette asked.
Confused, you nodded. "I am. How do you know that?", you asked.
The blonde one stepped forward and jutted out her phone. "Look how Matt was looking at you!".
You took the phone to get a better look. She was showing you a video she had taken of Matt staring at you with a giant grin on his face as you were walking away. Nick and Chris were making fun of how giddy he was.
"Do you know them?", the girl with long dark hair asked.
You returned the phone and shook your head. "Not really. I mean, Matt follows me on Instagram but, we don't DM or anything".
"You're so lucky", says the blonde. "I'm so jealous", says the brunette.
You forced an awkward smile as they walked away. "We have to leave", you demanded as you started to grab your things.
"What? We can't go-" your friend replied. You grabbed her hand and started dragging her to the back exit. The room was full now and you could tell the meet and greet was over.
As you pushed the back door to the exit and ran down the stairs to the street, you could feel your heart beating so fast. You rounded the corner and felt like you hit a wall. As you stumbled back, your bestie caught you.
"Y/n," you heard, "are you leaving?" You looked up and it was Nick. Behind him stood Matt, Chris, and a 300-pound security guard.
"No," you lied, "we were just... hungry."
"We're going to McDonald's if you want to come," said Nick.
He smiled at you and winked. How was this happening? Of all the beautiful girls inside waiting for them, how were you the one they were asking to go to McDonald's with them? Would they have asked anyone else who was trying to run away and forget today ever happened?
"Come on," Matt said, "it'll be fun".
Your bestie linked her arm through yours as you both walked side by side with Nick. He was telling you all about the funniest fan encounters and asked about how long you had been watching their content.
You could feel Matt's eyes burning a hole in the back of your head. You turned to get a quick glimpse but, played it off as having heard a noise behind you. He was staring right at you, biting his bottom lip. He smiled when your eyes met but, you turned back around pretending not to see.
When you got to McDonald's, you all ordered and found a booth in the back corner. You squeezed in from the right, and Matt from the left, and ended up sitting next to each other. Your hand brushed against his and you felt butterflies swarm in your stomach.
You looked up and your eyes met his. "I'm super glad you're here", he said. "Me too", you replied.

"You couldn’t behave just this once? You had to embarrass me infront of my colleagues," Bucky mumbled, as slumping down on the couch.
You recently started working with your father, as an intern of course. You were still in college but it was summer, and unfortunately your summer plans got cancelled. As a birthday present, your mum had bought a trip to Paris. Just for the two of you.
Unfortunately, before the end of the semester, she got into a car accident. When you got to the hospital, she was in surgery. You and Bucky waited there for hours. Steve came by to try to get you both to go home but neither of you moved. Finally, the doctor walked over to you guys. The pitiful look on his face already making you queasy as he said the words that changed your life in an instant. She passed away, she didn’t make it.
Bucky thought that maybe working with him this summer could help you take your mind off of things. At first, it was actually nice to have work as a distraction. But lately, the workload has been more than usual. It’s been tiring and hard but you’ve been trying your best. Today, however, someone else made a mistake and you got blamed for it. You tried to stand up for yourself but no one would listen to you. You looked to your dad for help but Bucky just shook his head and apologized on your behalf.
“I didn't even do anything! Why do you always have to argue with me" You yelled once again, as you threw your bag on the couch.
"I don’t want to argue with you, but you messed up and you need to learn how to take accountability for your actions!" Bucky yelled back, no longer caring about keeping his voice down.
You scoffed in response, "I wish Mom was still here, she wouldn't do this to me. She would stand up for me, she wouldn't believe some other kid over me."
"Fuck I wish she was here so she could see you right now, she'd be nothing but disappointed in you. Thank fucking god she's not here to see you like this, she'd be so fucking ashamed." Bucky instantly regretted what he said, but it was too late. The harsh words already left his mouth, and there was no taking them back now.
You both stood there like that until the sound of the front door pulled you out of your thoughts. You noticed Steve had walked in with takeout in his hand. You completely forgot he was coming over for dinner tonight. You looked back at Bucky before running upstairs to your room.
"Wait sweethear-" Bucky got cut off as you slammed your bedroom door shut. He quickly got up to follow you but Steve stopped him.
"Just let me go talk to her first.” Steve said, knowing you’d be too upset to see Bucky right now.
“I didn’t mean to say that… I just felt guilty when she said what she said…I didn’t mean to h-hurt her, fuck please just go check on her.” Bucky quickly wiped the tears away, knowing there was a chance you wouldn’t be able to forgive him for what he said.
Steve patted his back, before making his way upstairs to your room. His heart broke listening to the quiet sobs coming from your room. He lightly knocked on the door, “Angel, are you in here?”
“Go ‘way, don’t wanna talk…” You mumbled, putting the covers over your head.
“Come on, angel, you don’t have to talk it’s okay, I just wanna make sure you’re okay.” Steve waited for a few minutes, hoping you’ll let him in soon. He sighed before turning the doorknob, surprised to find it unlocked, and walking in.
He walked over to you, and sat down on the bed before carefully moving the blankets down. You looked up at him, with your tear-stained face, still sobbing quietly as you kept thinking about what Bucky said.
“Oh baby, look at you. All these tears don’t look good on my angel, come on let’s dry these up.” Steve carefully wiped away all your tears with his sleeve before pulling you closer to him to let you lay your head on his lap.
“H-he said that…” You couldn’t even finish the sentence. You wanted to tell Steve the harsh words you’d heard earlier. You didn't know that he already heard them as soon as he walked in. It took everything in him to not beat the shit out of Bucky at the time but he knew you needed him more though.
“Shh shh, it’s okay, he didn’t mean it. You know how much he loves you. He didn’t mean what he said, I promise. And I know for a fact that she’d be nothing but proud of you if she was still here.” He quickly shushed you, not wanting you to cry again. He tried his best to soothe you with his sweet words. It helped a little but you couldn’t help but wonder if Bucky was right. Would she be disappointed?
“Do you think she’d be disappointed in me? If she ever found out about us? Actually, do you think he’ll be disappointed in me if I ever told him about us?” You mumbled.
Steve thought about it for a second before replying, “Maybe at first, but I’m sure he'll come around. He'll will have to come around, angel, because I’m never letting you go.” He mumbled, burying his face in your neck, making you giggle a bit.
“I miss her alot…” You mumbled, as you could already feel the tears making their way back.
“I know, angel, I know. We all do…” Steve laid there with you until you fell asleep. Stroking your hair, and rubbing your back every now and then. All he wanted to do was take your pain away. You didn’t deserve to feel this way. You were his angel, all he wanted to do was protect you.

Summary: The girls want to play Safari with Khan and Nori. Nori thinks that she would play as the beast like every other round, only for the roles to be reversed. (Or in which Khan gets to be it for a change and gets revenge on Nori.)

It was a typical day at the Doorman house. Khan was currently working on blueprints for a new door while Nori was reading on the couch. All was peaceful until two dronelings walked through the front door.
“Mom! Dad! We’re home!” Their daughter, Uzi, shouted
Next to her stood her cousin Doll, who eagerly accompanied Uzi to hang their backpacks by the door. Nori glanced over and noticed them approaching the hooks, where they proceeded to hang their backpacks on the wall. With a smile, she stood up to greet the two.
“Welcome back girls! How was school?” Nori asked
“It was good! We learned about the steam engine today in history!” Doll gushed
“Yeah! But Doll couldn’t stop talking about it all day!” Uzi yawned out of boredom
“I was not!” Doll retorted
Nori couldn't help but smile. Earlier that day, the solver holder had received a call from her sister, who informed her that she and Yuri needed to attend to some important matters to discuss with their leader later on. She asked Nori if she could look after their daughter until they returned, as they didn't have a babysitter. Of course, Nori agreed to take care of Doll for the day. Hence, that's why she was with Uzi.
“Doll, you’re gonna be staying with us for the time being. Your parents have important business to attend.” Nori informed
Doll’s face lit up at the news, no longer upset at Uzi’s comment.
“Cool! That means we can hang out even longer Uzi!” Doll said excitedly
“Let’s go play in my room!” Uzi grinned as she rushes out of the living room to her room
Doll soon follows her into her room, leaving Nori alone in the room. She chuckles as she walked back to the couch and picked up her book to continue reading. A few seconds later Khan walked out of his office to join Nori, wiping his visor as he plopped down beside her with a tired groan.
“The kids are back?” Khan asked
“Mhm.” Nori responded not looking up from her book
“Best to get as much rest am I right?”
“Yeah…”
-In Uzi’s room-
The two lay on the carpeted floor, looking up at the ceiling, having just finished playing with the purple-clad droneling's toy cars.
"That was fun! What should we play?" Uzi asked, turning to face Doll.
The other droneling sat up, pondering the games they had created to satisfy their boredom.
"Well, we could play police and robbers, heroes and villains. Oh! And tickle bugs!" Doll suggested, but it seemed that Uzi wasn't interested in either of them.
“Eh, we’ve played those games like a quadrillion times already.” Uzi replied turning back to the ceiling
"Then what should we play? We can't just lie down and look at the ceiling forever," Doll said.
Uzi hummed in response as it was now her turn to come up with something for the two of them to play. At first, her thoughts were hazy, but then she recalled the game they used to enjoy. Suddenly, she gasped with excitement, sitting up straight as she remembered the game they had played long ago.
"I got it! How about Safari?" Uzi suggested.
"Oh yeah! I remember that one! But..." Doll hesitated.
"But?" Uzi repeated.
"What if your dad says no? You know how the game goes," Doll remarked.
It was true, Khan didn't really like the game since he gets caught most of the time, but Uzi thought this out. She placed her arm around Doll before smirking.
"Oh, he won't say no this time."
-Back in the living room-
Khan played with Nori's hair as she continued to read her book. It had been a while since Uzi and Doll had gone to her room to play. Normally, they would rush out and greet the couple with a dozen questions about everything that came across their minds within a short amount of time, but it didn't happen,  much to Khan's relief.
He sighed contentedly as he lays on Nori's shoulder, gently touching the sleeve of her navy blue shirt before gazing at her shoulder.
"You know, it's been an hour since those rascals came home and didn't bother us," Khan said.
"And?" Nori asked, looking up from her book and at her husband.
"I have a gut feeling that at any moment, they're going to run up here and either ask the most bizarre question or if we could play a game," Khan stated.
"Well, maybe not this time, Khan," Nori replied.
"Trust me, Nori, gut feelings are never wrong."
Just as Khan said that sentence, Uzi and Doll ran out of Uzi's room and towards the couch, excited smiles greeting the two adults as they stopped right in front of them. Khan gave Nori a 'told you so' look before focusing on the girls.
"Hey Dad?" Uzi began.
"Yes, my little machine gun?" Khan asked.
"Can we play Safari?"
The male worker halted abruptly when his daughter brought up that game. Although he liked playing it, Nori always ended up being "it" in the game. The worse part of it was that the kids were the ones who decided who would be the “Beast”. He looks at Nori, who had a wide grin on her face, knowing what’s to come.
"Uh, well sweetie, I don't think we should-" Khan started, but was cut off by Uzi.
"You can be the beast this time." Uzi deadpanned.
"Wait what?" Nori asked.
Nori's grin flattened as Uzi made his statement. Meanwhile, Khan was surprised as he had never been the beast before. Nori looked at her husband, hoping that he would decline, but it seemed that luck was not on her side today.
"Deal," Khan grinned.
"Khan!" Nori exclaimed.
The girls whooped in victory before rushing to Uzi's room to gather the necessary items for the game, giggling as they did so.
"You're with us, Mom! And you already know the rules!" Uzi smiled as she pointed at her, before disappearing into her room once more to get their safari outfits ready.
The adults were once again left alone in the living room. Khan stood up from the couch and went to where the starting position was. As he did so, he smirked at Nori, who still had a dumbfounded expression, and affectionately patted her head.
"Heh, don't worry, honey. I'll take it easy on you. After all, it is your first time not being the Beast. Rawr," Khan playfully teased, only to receive a smack on his arm.
"Bite me!" Nori shouted.
Later on…
Uzi, Doll, and Nori were sitting inside a cardboard box, using it as a makeshift vehicle to drive into the dense forest and vines. Eventually, they arrived at their destination, as Uzi made a horrible screeching noise to announce that the vehicle “stopped”.
"Okay, we're here. Remember to be quiet around these parts. We don't want to attract any wild animals," Uzi instructed.
"Or the Beast," Doll added.
The trio got out of the cardboard box and started to creep around the furniture, crawling on all fours as they hoped not to attract any attention. Uzi led the group, while Doll took "pictures" with the toy camera she had packed. She sometimes pointed out toy animals that they had placed all over the house, giggling as they did so.
Nori was a bit nervous. She knew how Safari worked, and it didn't end well, according to Khan at least. The "beast" would stalk the trio until it was time to pounce and eat one of them, and the other two would have to stop it. The problem was that she didn't know when or where the attack would happen.
As the group continued their journey, they made their way towards the kitchen, which they fondly called the "Twin water falls" in their small world. They crawled under one of the aisles, and Nori felt grateful for wearing shorts as the floor was damp, likely due to a sink leakage. She made a mental note to tell her husband later.
Thud!
Something was directly above them.
The group froze instantly as they continued to hear the faint taps on the table. Suddenly, it ceased, and the group collectively exhaled a breath they hadn't realized they were holding.
Nori's false sense of security was shattered when a hand abruptly seized her leg and yanked her out from beneath the table. A yelp escaped her lips as she was forcefully dragged away from Uzi and Doll.
"Mom!" Uzi shouted as Nori was being dragged away.
"Doll! We have to go after her!" Uzi exclaimed as she emerged from under the table, accompanied by her cousin.
"Way ahead of you!" Doll replied.
Both girls take out toy guns and run after Nori. The beast took many sharp turns as they pursue it, the worst thing was that it was almost too fast to keep up. Eventually, Uzi and Doll lost their track. The two try to regain their breaths as they stop to rest.
"Dang it! We lost her!" Uzi exclaimed angrily.
"What do we do now?" Doll asked, uncertain.
-In the office den-
The beast had taken its prey back into its cave. It gently threw Nori onto a pile of pillows, causing her to let out an "oof!" as she landed on the soft surface. Once the solver bearer regained her composure, she nervously glanced at Khan, fully aware of what would happen next.
"K-Khan, come on, we don't have to do this," Nori said with a nervous grin, extending her hand to create some distance between herself and Khan, who continued to advance. Each step he took only heightened her anticipation.
"Sorry, Nori, but you know the rules. Besides, you never backed down when you were the beast," Khan stated as he approached.
Nori gulped, knowing that Khan would show her no mercy. She tried to mentally prepare herself for the worst that was about to come. However, deep down, she knew she could never truly be ready.
That was when he suddenly pounced on her, pinning her down and began nibbling at her neck. Nori couldn't help but giggle and shriek as he playfully nuzzled her neck, his mustache making the ticklish sensations ten times worse. Oh, dear robot-god, why did she ever encourage him to get that mustache?
"Nahahahahaha! Kahahahan!" Nori giggled as she attempted to push his head away from the side of her neck.
"Khan isn't here anymore, only the beast! Rawr!" Khan chuckled as he persisted in tickling her neck.
“No! Ahahahahaha! Somebody hehehelp mehehe!” Nori pleaded as she continued to struggle
Meanwhile, Uzi and Doll continued their search for Nori, but despite their efforts, they always found themselves back at square one.
“Where could she be? We looked everywhere for her!” Doll exclaimed
“I dunno, but she couldn’t have gone that far.” Uzi replied
Suddenly, the dronelings heard laughter coming from Khan's office.
“Is that..?”
“I think so, let’s go Doll!”
They follow the sound of laughter and make their way to the beast's cave, peeking inside to see the beast "eating" Nori as she kicks her legs from the tickles.
“Aunt Nori-!” Doll whispered before Uzi covered her mouth, silencing her.
“Shh, he’ll hear you.” Uzi warned
The girls glanced up to ensure that the Beast hadn't noticed them. Fortunately, he was still occupied with Nori. They exchanged another look.
"Okay, here's the plan..." Uzi started, leaning closer to Doll's audio receptors.
The dronelings move slowly and quietly towards the beast. Nori spots the girls but remains silent to avoid alerting him. However, Khan senses that something isn't right and abruptly stops the tickly attack, allowing Nori to regain composure. Realizing that Khan has stopped, the girls swiftly take cover behind the boxes in the corner. Fortunately, he doesn't turn around in time to spot them.
“Hm, I could’ve sworn I heard something.” Khan says to himself as he looks around
Nori panicked. If he finds the girls they'll all lose the game. She can't let that happen, unless…
"Actually, I wasn't a fan of your designs for the new door," Nori complained.
Khan turned his head back to Nori, surprised by her comment.
Seeing an opportunity, she continued, "Seriously, a plain white door? That's so boring. You can do better than that."
"I'm willing to bet that Heap can come up with a better design," Nori teased.
She waits for his reaction, hoping that he would take the bait. Khan stares at her in disbelief. He never expected her to say something like this, let alone taunt about his door designs.
His surprised expression soon turned into a mischievous one as he pinned Nori’s arms to her sides, earning a surprised yelp from her.
“Oh ho ho that’s it! You have been a pain on my side for quite some time! And speaking of sides, I think it’s time for me to eat those too! Along with your belly!”
…Maybe the taunt worked too well.
“W-wait I didn’t mean it like that. Khan pleHEHEAHEHAHAHA!!” But before she could finish her sentence, she burst into laughter as Khan continued tickling her, this time targeting her stomach.
She squirmed and flailed, caught off guard by his sudden raspberries. She couldn't predict when or where he would strike next.
"AHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA! NOHOHOHOHO! STAHAHAHA!" Nori's laughter echoed through the room.
Unbeknownst to Khan, Uzi and Doll had silently crept up behind him, seizing the perfect moment to strike.
“Surprise attack!”
“Huh? Ack—!”
The girls both tackled Khan from the side, freeing Nori. She sat back up only to see Uzi and Doll wrestling with Khan before they were finally able to create an opening.
"His back is exposed, Uzi! Shoot him!" Doll shouted.
"Your days of terror are over, beast!" Uzi declared, aiming the toy gun at his target.
And with that, Uzi fired at Khan's back with the toy gun. The projectile bounced off the man, but the impact was immediate as Khan yelped and writhed on the floor in "pain".
"Argh! Nooo! I'm dying! My life is flashing before my eyes! It's over! Aah!" Khan exclaimed, putting on a very overdramatic act before flopping onto the floor. The beast had finally been slain.
Finally recovering from the tickles, Nori sat up and opened her arms to congratulate the girls for saving her.
"You saved me! My little heroines!" Nori praised as she hugged them tightly.
The dronelings giggled and returned the hug.
"All in a day's work," Doll said, tipping her hat.
"Yeah! We saved the day!" Uzi cheered.
Khan got up from the floor and walked towards the group, placing a hand on Uzi's hair and ruffling it.
"Haha, yes you did, my little machine gun! Now, who wants to watch a movie?"
Uzi and Doll both perked up at the question, jumping up and down and raising their hands like the excited children they were.
"Me!" "Me!" "Me!"
"Alright! Go ahead and pick one in the living room! We'll be there in a minute!"
The kids sprinted to the living room, leaving Nori and Khan behind. Just as Nori was about to leave, she suddenly felt a pair of hands gripping her sides.
"And where do you think you're going?" Khan asked.
"T-to the living room where the kids are-" Nori couldn't finish her sentence as Khan pulled her into a hug.
"Oh, I'm not finished with you yet, honey. Not after that comment you made," Khan grinned, tightening the hug so that his wife couldn't escape.
"Wait! Come on, Khan, it was a joke! It was only to distract you from the—Ahahahahaha! Nohohoho nohohot agahahahihin!"
Nori spent the next couple of minutes regretting ever making fun of Khan's doors.

Ruby Gillman, A Lesson on Earning Moments (Spoilers)
So, I recently watched Ruby Gillman: Teenage Kraken. Overall, it was… well… it wasn’t particularly great. It had potential, but I would most likely prefer the fix fics that people either have written, are writing, or will write.
Now, I could say what everyone else has already said, or I could go on a tangent, but how about I just try taking one writing lesson away from the movie instead?
Today’s lesson is on earning your moments, with Ruby Gillman standing as an anti-example.
You see, when I saw the scene where Brill talks Ruby out of her obligatory “My actions made everything worse, so I’ll start moping before the final battle” moment, I flipped out.
Looking back at the scene, what he said to Ruby word-for-word was, “I could never understand why [Agatha] chose to leave the ocean. Until, I saw the awesome life she created on land. And I realized, your mom chose her own path. She chose you.”
Now, this sound like something that should come out of the tail end of a character arc. It contains an admittance of bad understanding, acknowledgement of a transformative moment, and a declaration of new ideals following said moment. Overall, it’s a summation of somebody’s character development.
You see where I’m going with this? My problem is that Brill is acting like he’s just conquered his character arc, when most of his time in the movie has been:
This
Tumblr media
This
Tumblr media
And… you get it by now
Tumblr media
My point is that with Brill’s comic relief antics dominating his character, he had no arc! So getting to say, “I didn’t get it at first, but I do now” isn’t earned in the slightest!
It wouldn’t have taken a lot to earn this moment either! He may be a dumb marshmallow, but he’s a well-meaning marshmallow! All we’d need is to have some moment which fits his character and still progresses him to the “I get it” moment that would justify his speech!
The solution would be either bonding with Agatha, or bonding with Ruby. I could see how either of those would be structured too!
For Agatha, all Brill has to do is express any emotion beyond “happy puppy” when he’s with her.
Seriously! She left home without an explanation and he makes it clear that he looks up to her! All he would need is a moment to say, “I missed you” and the conversation could take off from there!
Such a moment would force Agatha to respond and that could give Brill a chance to understand why she left. Heck, it would benefit Agatha too! Being confronted with the idea that her choices have harmed her family would force her to reflect on her actions! She could either go out of her way to justify her choices, or show some remorse at having hurt her brother’s feelings. It would be a revelatory moment that would show us how to see her character.
Sorry about the tangent, I’ll get back on topic.
The alternative to get Brill to his “I get it” moment would be to have him bond with Ruby.
What I’m thinking in particular is for him to act as a firsthand witness to Ruby and Grandmamah’s relationship. Grandmamah’s ideas of making Ruby the heir to a warrior kingdom is shown to make Ruby uncomfortable. If Brill was shown reacting to this, and if he took into account any accusations Agatha had about Grandmamah being a controlling mother, then it would have helped him have a “So this is why Agatha left” moment. That would validate a later claim that he understands that Agatha only wanted what was best for Ruby.
Overall, what I’m saying is that an emotional revelation should have emotional buildup. It makes the character’s actions flow in a logical manner, and it gives us a chance to determine their natures. But when you have the emotional revelation without the buildup, it’s jarring. If we can’t see how it happened, then it doesn’t make sense to us why it happened at all!
To sum up the lesson, take your time to give characters moments to have emotions and react to the events and ideas they’re exposed to. It’ll give moments to develop their relationships, character traits, ideologies, and most importantly, their character arcs.
If you give characters the time to become who you want them to be, we’ll get to enjoy watching it happen.

been watching chicago med and i’m either on s3 or s4 BUT i am starting to absolutely despise natalie manning and her character (ill put it under a readmore because i got a lot of words and she absolutely disgusts me)
First off, I know that she's an ER doc specializing in peds (though, maybe its because of how fast I watched everything but I never saw any epi specifically say that but its there whatever).
My disgust comes from how 1)she approaches people that aren't physically/mentally/emotionally prepared to have children and 2)how hypocritical she is. So lets get into it:
Her approach to her patients with children: I appreciate her dedication to childcare– whether this be giving the child the best of care or advocating for their rights when the guardian/parent(s) aren't listening. The thing... some of the things she's done or said are so surface-level, that they don't account for what happens after they leave the ER. Take the epi where she accidentally got a mother and her baby separated because she suspected child abuse due to a stained hematoma from child birth. Her medicine was sound, of course— anyone would suspect child abuse in that scenario. What I didn't like, and this patient (abbrev. pt) rightfully called out, was her judgemental ass. Like listen, I've worked in the medical field for years and even if you are judgemental towards something, you should NEVER let it affect how you treat/care for pt. Nat says she judged teh mom for being a single mother raising her child but... babygirl, you're a GD doctor. Your mother-in-law literally watches your kid FOR FREE. Your husband died from war– you know exactly who he is! That single mother was literally working two jobs just to support her and her baby. She even said that she doesn't know who the dad is so clearly she can't just "drop" the kid off at grandma's. People literally do the best that they can in the situation that they're in, whether purposeful or accidental. Whether or not they make sense is a wholedifferent thing. Like the other epi where the pt's older brother was a sociopath and the parents decided not to institutionalize him. As outsiders, ofc we'd be on Nat's side about taking him away from hurting his brother. But that's the thing– we are outsiders!! Nat's saying all this stuff yet if put in the same situation, she'd likely do the same thing as what those parents did and continue to keep him around. The decision to have kids is already an unfortunately loaded question but what about after? She has little to no care of her pts past the exit. This can get longwinded so if anyone wants more lmk otherwise imma stop here for this.
Hypocrisy: She's a straightup hypocrite. Early seasons, she followed most of the rules. She wasn't Will, ya know? But what got to me was how the show writes her cases. Ex. she had changed a treatment plan that Will was against because she didn't think it was that. Mind you, Will's under fire from that DNR incident. Before the autopsy, Will is rightfully angry that she switched treatment plans, despite her trying to justify it. Never change a treatment plan! Even with disagreements, shit will happen. There are contraindications, there are escalations, there's a bunch of different things that can happen even if the change is small. Not only was Will trying to be a good doctor, he was also trying to be a law-abiding, rule-following doctor. What about the time when she fought tooth and nail to use an experimental, not FDA-approved (not even a multi-stage study) drug to treat a cancer pt. Ofc, Will is furious that she's adamant on the switch and lo-behold, the pt dies. Now, this concoction could've worsen the cancer right? Except, rather than writing it so it either didn't have an effect or had a miniscule effect, the autopsy revealed that her concoction actually shrank it a few cms. Aint no fucking way that it did that-- mainly because there were no clinical trials documenting it. I mean, GIRL, WHAT ABOUT THE SIDE EFFECTS? Medicine isnt a magic potion unforunately. The time when she went off on that skivvy priest and his 14-year old wife is also on my list. She yells at Will or whatever doctor about professionalism but her attitude towards him (though RIGHTFULLY SO) was peak unprofessionalism. I mean there is a lot of bureaucracy in almost any institution, whether profit or nonprofit, but when anyone else breaks it, they get serious consequences. When Nat does it, its just a damn warning. Hell! What about when they induced a death-appearing coma to the guy that was abusing his wife? Shittt son, I'm surprised Will agreed to that given his DNR incident. God forbid that pt actally fucking died-- they both would've lost theirmedical licenses.
I just have so much to say! She gives me 'popular in HS' vibes since she is "always" right, rarely gets any true punishment/consequences and yaps of unprofessionalism to other people when she literally does the same thing. What crossed it for me and its the reason why I'm writing this now is when she snapped at Dr. Charles when she cut the dosage in half for a bipolar pregnant mother. You mean to tell me that YOU were in the right because you don't have time to keep up with every new psych journal? You literally specialize in peds– youre supposed to keep up with any and everything child-related, including pregnancies! Chief! God forbid there's new research and because you dont have fucking time to do some research (or at least keep up with medical literature), you end up killing a pt due to ignorance.
Maybe its how the writers are writing her but she's just... DISGUSTING. As a self-identifying female, I'm all about feminine/female power but this? Nah chief– Maggie is better written than she is and she's "just a charge nurse"!

I wanted to make another post last week, but when I saw the preview for Episode 5, I figured that I should talk about Episodes 4 and 5 together since it looked like they were gonna be parallels (and I was right!). So continuing from my post about Episodes 1 and 2, here are my stray thoughts and ramblings about Our Dining Table's third, fourth, and fifth episodes.
(Once again, this has some spoilers for people who haven't read the manga, so proceed with caution.)
As much as I want to endlessly gush about Yutaka and Minoru and their 11/10 dynamic, my first bullet point goes to gushing about a fantastic new addition to the series who's (technically) show-exclusive: Ohata, one of Yutaka's co-workers. I said in my previous post that I was looking forward to seeing how they expound on Yutaka's work life with the show, and Episodes 3 and 5 were pretty much everything I could've asked for in that regard. As early as the first episode, we see Ohata as the one who makes the effort to include Yutaka in the conversation, even if he's closed himself off from the rest of his officemates. So it's nice to see that she's the one who first witnesses the changes in Yutaka's demeanor, and it's great to see how genuinely happy Ohata is to see her officemate break out of his shell.
I also want to emphasize that Yutaka's dynamic with Ohata was only made possible by his dynamic with the Ueda family. The show presents this pretty directly - Yutaka asking for help from Ohata was because he wanted to impress Tane and Minoru with his nonexistent bento-making skills, after all - but Ohata herself brings up that not only is this the first time Yutaka's asked anyone in the office for help, but also how Yutaka really cares about the person he's making this bento for.
That last part becomes especially more poignant once we get to Episode 4 and it's revealed just how scarring Yutaka's childhood was, especially when it came to sharing meals. No wonder he volunteers to make a bento for Tane even if he didn't know how to make one - Yutaka's now in a position to make sure that this child he cares about gets to experience meals in the best way possible. In other words, he wants to make sure that Tane never experiences what he did in his childhood, and if that means pain-stakingly perfecting how to turn sausages into octopi over the course of several weeks, then so be it.
I'll reserve my comments for how messed up Yutaka's adoptive family is in a later episode, as I'm pretty sure that there'll be a scene that goes even deeper into this (assuming they follow the manga), but let me just say: Wow what a horrible family. I don't blame Yutaka for closing himself up to the world at all, and it makes his breakthroughs with the Uedas all the more impressive.
Yutaka isn't the only one experiencing these breakthroughs - we see in Episode 5 that Minoru is also healing from his past thanks to his meals with Yutaka. That scene with his old college classmate was repurposed from how it was presented in the manga - it was part of a flashback in a much later chapter in the manga but was brought forward here - but it makes a lot of sense to do so as, like I said in my previous post, they're bringing Minoru's conflict to the spotlight a lot earlier, and I think that's a very good decision for the narrative. He is clearly still dealing with a lot of baggage from losing his mom and having to take on the mantle of being a second parent to Tane, and I'm sure how that old college classmate reacted to Tane's antics was par for the course for him. So to see Yutaka not only take these antics in stride, but also prioritize Tane's well-being over his own feelings about the situation - I'm sure Minoru feels overwhelmed.
And that's not even taking into account Minoru's attraction to Yutaka - which, yes, it is a major factor, and the actor is doing a fantastic job in conveying this pining. But, really, with how Yutaka already treats Tane like his own little brother, how could Minoru not fall in love with him?
That shot in Episode 2 with the shoes is still my favorite (it's become a wallpaper lol), but that sequence in Episode 5 with Minoru making ramen fried rice and being paralleled with a memory with his mom is definitely up there. What an absolutely heartbreaking sequence.
I get how frustrating it seems that Minoru and Yutaka don't seem to be getting the opportunity to talk about the latter's encounter with his brother, but if they're doing what I think they're doing, I really think the build-up to this conversation is worth it. The manga had a similar build-up to this reveal (though it was slightly shorter) so I'm hoping it pays off in a future episode.
We were robbed of Minoru saying that Yutaka's brother was a looker but wasn't his type. Absolutely my biggest complaint about the show so far as that line is Top 3 for the manga. (I have a tiny sliver of hope that it'll come up in a later episode in a different context but I might as well say this now lol.)
(Okay but my actual biggest complaint about the show so far is how there's a pretty heavy use of flashbacks to previous scenes already seen in the show. I'm told that this is actually normal for dramas, but still, there are so many interesting extra scenes they could use to fill the space instead. Give me more of the Minoru-and-his-boss-in-the-ramen-shop dynamic or the Yutaka-and-his-officemates dynamic instead please and thank you)
To those who have read the manga: On a scale of 1 to Minoru at the park in Episode 4, how excited are you for next week's Christmas episode? That is by far my favorite chapter of the manga and I am so, so looking forward to seeing how they tackle it here.
I admit that I was initially worried about the adaptation as I love the manga so much so I had sky-high expectations, but it is such a delight to watch every time. Everything they've added to the story so far makes a lot of sense and only elevates the narrative. And since we're getting into the meat of the story, I can only see it getting better from here.

Underrated Real Time Fandub Lines: Sonic Adventure 2
“Za Warudo!”
“I’ll make you eat those words!”
Sonic trades barbs faster than his mind can process them.
“THAT’S RIGHT, SONIC! I’M TAKING IT FROM THE oh wait, Sonic isn’t here. Knuckles, I’m taking your emerald.”
Eggman fails to account for the Master Emerald’s guardian.
“SHADOW.”
“Thanks, I forgot who this was! Did we ever establish our names? Hi, I’m Sonic!”
All said in the same angry tone of voice.
“F*** you, moon! You never had the cheese I wanted!”
Doctor Ivo Robotnik, IQ of 300.
“I’m sorry, did you not consent to me saving your life? I’ll put you back down, I’m sorry!”
Knuckles knows not to push his boundaries.
“And now I will control the universe! AND EVERYONE WILL BE ABLE TO WATCH splatoon2letsplays BY EGGMAN! NOW GET IN THE F***ING ROOM!”
I feel like it would’ve been easier to put it on the news while you were taking everyone’s Best Buys, but you do you, buddy.
“THANKS, JESUS!”
Knuckles and the big man upstairs go way back.
“You know I’ve seen my fair share of piss rocks~”
“…You said that really sensually!”
I quote Sonic’s response constantly.
“What you see is what you get! Just a guy who loves piss rocks…and adventure. I’m gonna run now.”
“What the f***.”
From Shadow, that kinda hurts.
“It’s been seventeen days…”
Cut to later…
“THREE YEARS! I’VE BEEN IN HERE FOR THREE YEARS!”
How much time passed between those fades?
“Please stop, Ivo.”
“Uh…HOW DID YOU KNOW MY MIDDLE NAME?”
This can go one of three ways. Either Eggman’s lying to cover his tracks, his full name is Ivo Ivo Robotnik (his actual name is pronounced “Eee-Voh”), or hes just named “Doctor”.
“I put hot sauce on everything-”
“No.”
Alfred immediately catches on to what Ryan’s going for.
“WOOP! WOOP! THAT’S THE SOUND OF THE POLICE!”
“That rap! It reminds me of her!”
I really want to know what the heck crimes Maria committed.
“I’m here to show you what Ninten can do…and what Za WaruDON’T!”
“That doesn’t even make any sense.”
Shadow as he prepares his epic Earthbound Beginnings/Jojo crossover fanfiction.
“My follower base!”
“And yet they still can’t figure out how to get nazis off their site.”
In which Shadow utterly scorches the entire platform.
“As long as I get my weed back, I don’t really care.”
“I don’t have a character motive.”
The best part is that since Shadow’s been shot down to Earth for reasons completely unrelated to G.U.N., he really doesn’t have a character motive other than being a troll.
“Are you my mom?”
“No? What? The f***?”
Amy the Hedgehog to Tails, who is a boy, a fox, and far younger than her.
“Yes, Rouge. Thank you for listening to my insane ramblings about peeing in a Hot Topic.”
You can just hear the realization hit him.
“NOW GET OUT OF MY F***ING FACE! BEFORE I PISS ON YOU TOO.”
Odd as it may be to put a line from the moon rant in an “underrated lines” compilation, nobody talks about how brilliant a conclusion this is.
“I can’t believe he came to his intervention drunk.”
Really? Because it sounds just like him.
“Here comes the WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!”
DJ Inexplicable Talking Gemstone’s new hit rock song.
“Wait, I know you! I saw your dick on Twitter!”
That’s one heck of a way to introduce yourself, Amy.
“When I see you, it is ON SIGHT! IT IS ON! SIGHT-”
“Yeah, piss off.”
The Ultimate Life Form cares not for your threats.
“What the f***, you Hot Topic hot sauce motherf***er, why would you even say anything!?”
“There’s nothing hotter than hot sauce, Rouge.”
That’s not even remotely an answer to the question she asked you!
“But I wanted the last thing I breathe to be pot!”
I always used to mishear it as “pie”.
“I NEVER LEARNED HOW TO REEEAD!”
“That’s not really a surprise!”
Amy’s line was golden as is. Tails’ barely audible snapback is just icing.
“And that is why I! Am the true owner of the world! That’s right! All that you see before you? Everything the piss touches? That is your kingdom! And you, my son, shall go forth and inherit it!”
…what?
“MAN, THOSE BALLS SURE ARE SHAKING.”
Yes, thank you, Knuckles.
“Ah gave birth.”
Another great throwaway line.
“As we know, my dick is on my hand.”
This guy’s about to jack off…
“If I gave Shadow fifteen apples…and then Amy gave Shadow another sixTEEEN…and then Tails took away three…my question is…what is the total mass of the sun?”
“As Obama told me, it’s THREE!”
“YOU FIGURED IT OOOOUUUUUUUUuuuuuuu…ah.”
“Why does it sound like he’s getting further away-this is stupid.”
I think this is the beginning of a beautiful binge watch.
“Wait, that’s no moon, that’s a space station!”
“Nice reference. I also love Star Trek.”
Oh, Shadow.
“Shadow didn’t deserve to die for his piss-”
“Yeah he did!”
“-but here we are.”
She’s not wrong.
“My shoes-my shoes in my reflection are opaque, bye!”
Again, she’s not wrong.
“I’m not understanding any of this, but here’s a gloog.”
We all need a gloog in our life.
“So if we were to all drink piss, does that make you or me?”
“It makes us both avid piss drinkers.”
This explains so much.
“Can I ask you, um-”
“No. Make sure to like, comment and subs-”
No is one of the greatest words in the English language.
“This is a Big McIntosh…”
“Eeyup.”
It took me years to catch that reference.
“This is wagyu steak. Named after the dog, because wagyu tail?”
“WHAT?”
…I got hit by a “deez nuts” joke.
“I’m gonna get a paper towel.” (Grabs a jar of pickles)
Eh, close enough.
“Don’t worry, this one literally has gold on it, so you will die if you eat it.”
“Good, that was the goal.”
Talk about a rich flavor.
“You hit me in my nose! That’s the spot where I don’t like being hit!”
“Well then that’s where I’ll hit you on repeated instances!”
Sonic being a menace to society.
“Hey, that’s some good bars man, y’know I’m coming to kill you right now.”
“…Can you not do that?”
“Uhhh, for how long?”
“Give me at least…y’know fifteen, sixteen…years.”
Followed shortly by Eggman trying to gaslight Sonic into thinking he destroyed the world.
“If they did make a prune juice cocktail, like half prune juice, half vodka, that would be called the ‘factory reset’.”
I have no idea how they started talking about prune juice, but whatever.
“I HAVE…REEFER MADNESS!”
The Dark Story version of Rouge and Knuckles’ encounter is…strange to say the least.
“Hey that’s…”
“Hey, that’s…”
“Hey, that’s…”
“Hey, that’s!”
I think Shadow’s the fake hedgehog around here.
“I’m gonna kill you, and I’m sober now, ‘cause I went to my own intervention!”
Sometimes it just be like that.
“That was completely unnecessary. My back hurts now.”
Screaming for three consecutive years finally caught up with him.
“I diagnose you with DEAD, Wazowski!”
The entire Roz sequence came out of nowhere, and I love it for that.
“IS THIS WHAT HOT TOPIC IS NOW?!”
Not pictured: the epilogue to the Piss Saga.

Apology Beer
The pilots with rio's went first today. That meant tomorrow it would be me, Hangman, Rooster, and Coyote. I was beyond nervous, seeing how defeated the other pilots looked while coming back.
My entire pilot life has led up to this moment. The moment where I got to fly against one of the best.
For now, I sat in my bed with the red envelope in my hand. I wiped my thumb across my mothers beautiful cursive handwriting. I missed her more than anything right now. It took everything in me not to rip open the letter and read it. I had to know what she needed to tell Pete Mitchell so badly.
I sighed and looked towards my suitcase. From the bottom of my bag, I dug out my stuffed wolf toy from when I was a child. I know, it's pretty embarrassing carrying around your childhood stuffed animal as an adult now. Somehow, having it made me feel more connected to my mom, like she was there with me.
I took the toy out and set it down on the desk. I sat down in the black rolling chair and leaned my head down on the wooden desk, becoming eye level with the toy. "Tell me something mom." I whispered, taking the small toys paw in between my fingers.
My phone buzzed, I picked it up looking at an unknown number. It was Phoenix. I smiled while adding her to my phone and responding.
Tumblr media
Just as I hit send a knock sounded from my door. I was confused, I had just sent the message. Was she here already?
"Phoenix, I thought you said 8?" I opened the door to reveal a shocked Maverick. I was equally as surprised, immediately standing in a respective position, straightening my posture.
"Captain Mitchell-"
"No please, just call me Maverick."
"Maverick. What do I owe the pleasure?"
He looked awkward, like he wasn't sure what to say. "I, um, I don't know what you know about me, if you know anything at all. I, Uh- I'm sorry. This is weird, let me start over."
We both shared an awkward chuckle. I didn't know what to think of where this conversation could be going.
"I was told your mother is Charolette Blackwood. I was just wondering, how is she?"
My heart fell a little. He looked so eager to hear what I was about to say. I frowned a little. Though it had happened years ago, thinking about my mothers death still hurt me. "She, Um, she was good. She lost my dad, had me, got married, she enjoyed her job in DC."
There was a silence between us when I reached the end of my short story. I could tell that there was something in his face that might have put two and two together. "She..." I continued, mustering up the courage. "She got cancer. Stage four tumor spread across her spine. She passed away 6... almost 7 years ago now."
I could see the hurt that slowly spread across his face. His fingers fell to his front as he twiddled his thumbs around. "Oh, I'm so sorry."
"It's okay. She actually left me with this to give to you." I stepped into my room and took the envelope from off my desk and returned to my door. I gave him a weak smile as I handed the small letter to him. He looked down at it and took it gently in his hands.
Maverick looked up at me, I could almost see the glossiness in his eyes as he swallowed hard. "Thank you, this is great."
"She told me not to open it, that I would know when the time was right. So let me know what it says, yeah?" I couldn't help but feel a weight in my chest, like somehow I was betrayed by not getting to know what was in that letter. On the other hand, it wasn't my business. It was between my mom and Maverick.
"Hey y/n, let's get going! Oh, Mav, what's up?" Phoenix chirped, catching me off guard by the appearance of a new person. "Hey Um, I was just leaving. Thank you for passing along the message, Wolf." With that, he was gone.
Phoenix linked arms with me as she began to walk us down the hallway. I couldn't help but look over my shoulder to watch Maverick walk down the hall. I hoped that he would tell me soon what was in the letter.
I offered to take my car we we drive to The Hard Deck. This seemed to be the most popular hang-out place for this crew of pilots. She eagerly encouraged us to run down to the beach where I saw a small fire pit came into view.
"Aye Phoenix and wolf, glad you could make it!" Payback encouraged us to come over with the wave of his arm.
"Sorry we're late guys, I had to shower and Wolf was talking to Mav."
I widened my eyes a little bit, worried that someone might take that out of context. Giving him the letter was a personal matter.
"Talking to Mav?" Rooster questioned, looking up at me from his seat on the sand.
"I was just introducing myself." I tried to recover quickly. "You guys have had time to get acquainted with him, it's my first time meeting him. Just wanted to start off on the right foot."
"Oh come on, wolf. Mav's gonna love you. Especially after he sees you fly." Fanboy encouraged me, standing up to bring me an opened beer bottle. I gratefully took it, looking for a place to sit down around the fire.
I found one, between Rooster and Bob. Bob looked at me and waved. I waved back at him kindly. He turned around for a moment before resurfacing with a bag of marshmallows and a roasting stick, a goofy smile on his face.
Gratefully, I took the delicious snack and popped one on the Stick, putting it over the fire. "So, what did we miss?" I asked the group, getting cozy by the fire. Being by the ocean made the wind cold, so any part of my body that wasn't facing the fire received chills. I thought to put on sweatpants but only a naval academy t-shirt on for a top. If I get cold I'll just have to suffer.
"Fanboy and Payback were just explaining what happened today, Pheonix and Bob are gonna go next." Hangman responded to my question and then Gestured towards the pair.
"Well I think we did a pretty good job holding our own. But you know Maverick, he comes In from the bottom, and the front, then does the fly by break thing, there's just so many tricks that he knows. It's hard to maneuver around them." Phoenix explained in between bites of marshmallow.
This information was good, Great even. I could figure out what I needed to do to possibly beat Maverick tomorrow.
"He really gets you with that stopping thing." Bob huffed, checking his marshmallow that was roasting.
"Wait what's the stopping thing?" I asked, looking around the group.
"He pulls it whenever you're behind him and right as you get on missile lock he hits the breaks and pulls up, causing the plane to glide over the top of whoever is behind him." Rooster explained. His voice was flat, hardly even looking my direction as he talked.
I nodded, thinking for a minute. "Have you anticipated it? Breaking at the same time he does?"
"It's dangerous and stupid but you could try it if you have a death wish." Roosters mouth dripped with venom as he practically spat the words out of his mouth. he spoke as though he were talking to a toddler asking a stupid and obvious question. I was taken back by how hatful he seemed, surprised how in under one day we could be having a friendly conversation, and now this.
I looked around the group, they seemed to all be just as confused. Even Hangman gave rooster a sideways look. "Hey Bradley, don't be a dick." Hangman snapped at him.
The two men had a stare off before Rooster aggressively stood up and walked away. I hummed in wonder as I brought the beer bottle to my mouth, finishing it off. I took my marshmallow off the fire and then popped it into my mouth. "I'll be back." I mumbled.
Pushing myself off the cold sand, I jogged out towards the ocean where Rooster decided to storm off too. "Hey, Bradshaw." I announced as I slowed my jog down, the cold wind of the night getting to me.
I rubbed my arms gently to keep them warm as I looked up at him. "Look I'm sorry if I did something to upset you. It wasn't my intention."
He stayed silent, his eyes fixed on the ocean waves that were calmly lapping at the cold sand beneath us. "Rooster, did you hear me?"
Once again, nothing. He brought his beer bottle to his mouth and took a long swig. He brought the bottle down, grunting out a sigh.
"Bradley-"
"I have a jacket."
I stopped, surprised by his off topic comment while I was giving quite the heartfelt apology if I do say so myself. "I'm sorry, what?"
"I have a jacket in my car if your cold. I could go get it for you."
I didn't know what to say, or how to respond to it. It was a kind gesture, but poorly timed.
"This is my way of apologizing for snapping at you. I'm not very good at it." Rooster admitted, swirling the liquid around in his bottle.
"Boy I'd say." I huffed in astonishment. "What was that all about? I get that I'm the new guy but we're in this together, Bradley."
We turned on heel to walk back to where our cars were parked at the back of the bar. I spotted the blue Bronco instantly and walked towards it.
"I know, I'm sorry. I don't have an excuse. Just personal stuff." He mumbled the last part, finishing off the last of his beer as we approached his car.
All I did was nod while watching him go to the back seat and pull out a crew neck sweatshirt. It was deep forest green with white lettering of "Air Force" across the top of it. I took it from him gratefully, slipping it on my head. I couldn't help but notice the smell. A musk of pine and amber. A forestry yet subtle sweet aroma that I could curl up and bask in forever.
"Thank you."
"Here, I've got something else to sweeten the apology." Rooster smirked, moving to the bed of the car and pulling open a cooler lid. He pulled out a bottle of beer and handed it to me. "Local, craft, IPA."
"An apology beer?" I chuckled, Taking the bottle from Roosters hand and twisting the top off with my hand.
"Hope you like it, it's my favorite. You can get the sweatshirt back to me whenever." With that, he walked back over to the crowd, not another word from his mouth. I leaned against the back of his car, taking a sip of the beer. It was good, deep citrus flavor with bitter, woody notes in it.
I savored the unique beer flavor. Bradley had good taste, this was a good beer. Besides the faint wafting smell of beer going into my nose, his sweatshirt smell was overwhelming. I hated to say, it made me smile. No matter how moody he may be, (and it seems that he's pretty moody) I couldn't deny his attractiveness.
There was something about Bradley that made me want to know more about him. I heard plenty about him from the last mission. It's no secret he had become somewhat of a legend in the navy, along side Maverick. Maybe my attraction was coming from curiosity, wanting to know what made Bradley, Rooster. I already know what makes Jake Hangman; cockiness, skill, and ego. But I knew nothing about Bradley.
Four weeks. Four weeks with these pilots to figure out what makes them tick, their strengths and weaknesses. We would use those to push each other and help ourselves. All up until the moment we would be sent to fight to our deaths, the best of the best.

Hi, So I just saw your post. You know what. What about ussop and jinbei. They barely get screentime together, and I would like what you think of their duo. (Ps keep doing what you are doing)
Alright I love a challenge!
Because these characters don’t have a lot of screen time together we’re gonna have to go off what we already know about the characters personalities and histories to best analyze the minimal interactions we’ve seen between them.
Starting off with Usopp…what’s there to say about the world bestest boy? A lot. Too much, honestly. I’ll try to keep it short.
Usopp is the strawhat’s ‘normal’ guy on the crew. He’s got a reasonable amount of concern, worry, and fear for a 17 year old who has to fight zombies, warlords, and god. He’s a teenage boy with a pretty normal childhood (I mean comparatively to the rest of the traumatized freaks) who likes doing little chemistry and chasing bugs with his best friends! As the story progresses he’s used almost as an anchor for strawhat insanity as the other strawhats just get crazier and crazier. He never stops finding Luffy’s antics buttfuck insane, Sanji’s womanizing annoying, Zoro and Robin’s bloodlust unnerving, and Nami’s greed perverse. While he starts to relent as the show progresses in regards to putting up a direct fight, he never stops being, at the very least, exasperated. He’s tired, but he’s grown a thick skin to the crazy due to his lived experience.
When we talk about lived experience though, he gotta talk about Jimbei. From soldier, to pirate, to warlord, to pirate captain and now back to pirate subordinate…Jimbei by all accounts has lived much more of a life than most, if not all, of the strawhats. He’s used to routine and is bound by loyalty and justice. He’s got a well defined moral compass (shown through his interactions with Koala) and is incredibly honorable (any of impel down or Marineford as an example). He even takes the time to officially retire from the Big Mom pirates even after she directly threatens his life. His life has taught him unwavering faith, and so he joins the crew of those whose faith in Luffy and his dream is similarly unwavering…
Except for Usopp. Not to question the boy’s loyalties after Enies Lobby because he earned back his respect with that tearful apology man but he was the first and only crew mate that went against his captain because of his own volition. He fought Luffy. He tried to actually beat Luffy. He went against a direct order from his captain and fought him. To Jimbei this would be unheard of. Jimbei has disagreed with King Neptune, or Fisher King (he never really took orders from the marines as a warlord so I’m not counting Marineford), but has never gone directly against their actions or direct orders.
This is, I think, due to their age/level of maturity. Jimbei’s experience has led him to accept that the people in charge of him are older, wiser, and therefore better at making decisions….which in his case has been accurate. Usopp on the other hand has only experienced one ‘leader’ in his life and it’s the resident dipshit. He was within his rights to question the judgment of Luffy within the context of who they both are. Luffy’s never had to make a complicated captain decision before and because of that there is no precedent for Usopp to fall back on for how well those turn out. Not to mention Usopp might have subconsciously believed that, to a certain degree, they were playing pirates. Luffy was his best friend before he was ever his captain so who’s he to say what they can and can not do? (Think about when you had to work on a project or something with your friend and you had to ‘get serious’ and it made them defensive…people don’t like being told what to do by their friends and peers).
Jimbei’s subordination is tied to his respect for those he follows (insert quote he said to Ace in Impel down that I’m too tired to go find). Usopp’s seems to be, at the beginning, to be whether or not things were going the way he wanted them to go. After Enies Lobby, Usopp now has some of that lived experience, some precedent for Luffy’s more serious captain choices. He’s even better at rolling off the punches because he’s known forever that his captain is crazy (something a normal pirate would need a very long time to adjust to) but now he knows that he can also rely on Luffy to make the right choices if need be.
Jimbei on the other hand is a fishman outta water. In his experience, good leaders are an entire league of their own. Built from stern expressions and hard decisions and years of discipline….which doesn’t even attempt to describe Luffy. Jimbei is always shocked and in object horror at the mockery of fighting that Luffy does, at the insanity of his crew, and everyone’s seemingly disregard for the way people do things! Jimbei thought his age and experience might put him on the metaphorical council for the Strawhat captain, because there’s no way he just does whatever he wants without confronting his crew to discuss the best course of action, right? RIGHT?!
Usopp’s never going to stop sighing his heavy sigh and vocalizing his general discomfort with the path Luffy has taken (typically the path of most resistance) but he’s gonna just roll with the punches and trust Luffy’s gonna get it all done right because he always does. Jimbei is gonna looked shocked but then he’s gonna laugh. He’s going to laugh at the differences between his other leaders. He’s gonna laugh because what a great leader he’s found to follow. He’s gonna laugh because Ace was right, his little brother really is something!
(Thanks for the ask! Feel free to add any additional thoughts you may have had!)

I'm very tempted, now that someone has mentioned the idea of parodying Lily, to do a parody of TSR wherein everything Aliana does is mocked and retold in a more accurate way. Nothing sexual or gross, but we shove in an OC who looks back at the audience and goes, "Kylo Ren never expressed any sexual desires in the original trilogy. Now he wants Rey and Aliana to be his concubines. Gee, who was it that said authors only put violence against women in fiction if they get off to it? Billy Smorchard? Lillian Orchestra? Something like that." Just TSR, but Aliana is stuck with a character who can see beyond the fourth wall who will not stop mocking the bad writing. He asks Rey how she fell in love with Aliana and she says, "Oh, we talked." "That's it?!" "We had things in common." "I have things in common with you, her, Luke Skywalker, BB8 and my cat, that doesn't mean I'm in love with them!" The entire story ends up with a running gag where he refers to Aliana's mom as "The Noble Black Slaver" and she wants to murder him but his two superpowers are being aware of things beyond the fourth wall and being immune to Force abilities so she's just forced to deal with his existing without ever being able to choke, maim, murder, electrocute, etc. him, which are her only means of problem-solving. I really want to do a lengthy parody thing where we start out following the plot of TSR but eventually this dude's continual interference in Aliana's bullshit totally derails her attempts to take over the galaxy.
Specifically I want to do this parody fic with comments set to logged-in users only and see what she ends up doing when she realizes she can't threaten my life without getting banned from AO3. She can't bully me off of social media, because I don't have that. Her viewers can't scream at me without death threats and suicide bait getting them banned off of AO3 for TOS violations.
Imagine how mad she would be. Imagine the glorious indignation, the swearing, the inevitable trying to frame me as [buzzwords here] and not being able to control someone enough to make them stop because she has no power. And the best part is, I could make it so, so queer and make it majority non-white and make the fourth-wall breaking OC Jewish just to piss her off. "But Judaism doesn't exist in Star Wars!" someone in the comments will say, to which I can simply reply, "Black people selling white kids doesn't exist in Star Wars and every black character having a connection to slavery didn't exist in Star Wars but y'all were fine with those additions. You'll survive this one."
I have a spare AO3 account. I could do this. Someone either needs to stop me or give me a title because that's always the hardest part to come up with. I'm thinking I want to retain TSR as initials...
you should, anon, why not? LO has officially left alaina free for the taken. if someone can grab her and do something actually interesting with her then they should.
