after his plans for the Fentons fell through, Vlad put all his energy into his cat, Maddie. soon, cats took over his personal life and he had a small army of furry companions. but since there were only so many cats he could take care of himself, he started funding animal shelters. and the most underfunded shelters happened to be in one Gotham city.

He didn’t plan on the Wayne child also volunteering undercover at shelters, or beginning to see him as more of a son. Maybe it just took someone just as bad at dealing with people as him to start feeling human again.

Wiffle bat whack attempt 5: Cal meeting Din before he has Grogu. Din reaching out to Cal for a place to lie low after he re-rescues Grogu and escapes Nevarro. Grogu and Cal [spider-man meme].

It turned out swamp water was not the greatest thing for his armor. It oozed past his helmet’s filters and tried to worm its way up his nose. Din swore faintly. This was not how he meant for his day to go. First, his bounty had given him the slip, and then he had somehow tripped over his own feet. There was no reason for what had happened. It had felt like the ground had heaved up out of nowhere when he had been trying to track his bounty. Din struggled to push himself out of the clingy water. His feet and hands just couldn't seem to grab onto anything that allowed him to pull himself free. He grumbled faintly and brought an arm down in annoyance on top of the swamp. Lilypads and sludge went flying. Then, out of nowhere, he felt odd. He lurched forward out of the muck with a loud pop. He was left beyond baffled. Had he finally managed to find something to push his weight off of under the surface? It hadn’t felt like it. It had actually almost felt like invisible hands had grabbed him and yanked. His stomach was still churning from the sensation or from the swamp water he may have swallowed. He stumbled up onto the bank less than gracefully, all while doing his best to ignore his unease. Slime and plant life trailed off of him. His flight suit was laden with water that clearly belonged to the swamp. It took him a second of peeling weeds from his arm for him to sense it, but he finally realized someone was watching him.

He slowly raised his visor with a plant caught between his fingers and froze.

Red hair, a scarred face, and a faint glimmer of amusement in knowing eyes. They didn't look that much older than him, maybe the same age? Not Mandalorian judging by the lack of armor.

“You take a tumble there?” the stranger asked. A small droid chortled from the stranger's shoulder. Din had to fight the urge not to shoot the droid off the person’s back.

Gorgug only interacted with Mary Ann in passing despite them both being on the Owlbears. Fabian noped out of chatting up Ivy once she crossed a line with Mazey. Riz was so busy that he truly had no time to engage with Kipperlilly even though she's obsessed with him. Kristen interacted a bit with Buddy but spent way more time verbally sparring with Kipperlilly. And Adaine was somewhat interested in Oisin but never overtly acted on it.

But Fig?

She's in Ruben's WALLS. She's in his DREAMS. She's faking her alter emo's death. She's got the Fantasy FBI after her. She's SO SO tiny. No one is doing it like Fig's doing it.

I think the reason so many LOTR ripoffs fail is because they make their Aragorn analogue the main character, when the entire point of Aragorn is that he’s “the person the villains think is the main character, but is Not.”

Aragorn seems like a traditional King Arthur style hero— he has huge Main Character Energy because he’s supported by destiny, by bloodline, by all these magic artifacts and prophecies, and etc etc. Frodo and Sam are Just Some Guys. Aragorn recognizes that Sauron understandably thinks he’s the main hero of this story ….and he pretends to believe it too, spending the entire series using himself as a diversion to prevent Sauron from seeing Frodo and Sam.

Aragorn’s whole thing is that knows he seems like the Main Hero of this legend to people who don’t know better —- but he also knows that he isn’t, and that his role is just to keep Sauron’s eye on him in order to protect the people around him.

And it works! Sauron is so fixated on defeating his Legendary Destined Archenemy with Extreme Main Character Energy that he completely overlooks the two ordinary little guys who were the real threat to him all along.

I was hanging out at the karaoke bar, chatting with a beautiful woman, and we were really hitting it off. I threw a couple of flirtatious comments her way. She giggled nervously, but abruptly stopped and looked at the floor.

She told me that she was too nervous to hit on people because she's trans and worries that people will view her as a predator and that she might get hurt.

My heart sank. I let her know that she could hit on me in whatever way she wanted and I would LOVE it. We spent the rest of the night hanging out and flirting. We ended up making out. It was great.

But I can't stop thinking about how that wasn't the first time a trans woman has said that to me. About how unsafe it is for some women that they feel the need to give out fucking disclaimers to have normal interactions with people.

We have GOT to make the world a safer place for trans women. It pisses me off that there are men at the bar who are openly predatory towards me without fear of consequence, yet a trans woman is too scared to even fucking call me pretty. And that's because she IS more likely to face worse consequences for lesser things! Like what the fuck!

You need to always check on your internalized biases. Being queer yourself doesn't absolve you of transmisogynistic thoughts and behaviors. Being bi/pansexual doesn't mean you don't hold those biases either! If you feel differently about a trans woman hitting on you than you feel about a cis woman or a man hitting on you, you need to evaluate that.

Trans women, I love you so fucking much. You should be able to express attraction and love as freely as everyone else. I hope you can always feel safe around me. And I'll never stop fighting until you can feel safe period.
