Might be a bit of a weird thing but I want to see Kai's sudden anger sprouts or emotional outbreaks to come back, or basically some aspects of pre S8 Kai.

I want to see Kai motherfucking smith be mad at anyone really.

The Merge just happened and fuck me his family is scattered again, they're probably just as worried and confused and scared as him and he's sick of everyone he cares about getting constantly in danger, intentionally or not.

And then he meets Lloyd, or Nya, and he's sorta relieved but at the same time, the others are still missing out there somewhere.

So he gets clingy onto them, "if I can't find the rest I have to keep the ones I have close me to safe."

Of course this comes from worrying over the others and their safety, and if the name "Imperium" and if their nindroids and Vehicles and genrals are anything to go off of, they're an absolute force to be wrecked with.

Doesn't help either that there's the responsibility now of ensuring Sora and Arin (and Riyu) are safe as well.

And the moment I want to see him have an anger or emotional outburst is in a scenario where Nya makes a one off comment about Kai being overbearing and protective of them.

And Kai just snaps at Nya.

He goes on a large fucking tangent about how he's always had to stay calm in clearly shitty situations, because they as a group just keep getting separated time and time and time again, danger around the corner at any given moment and he's tired of it.

And it would especially hurt him that the comment comes from Nya out of all people, because not too long ago she was still one with the sea, he had to sacrifice his entire childhood just to raise and protect her, and he knows to respect her boundaries and beliefs but in his mind the last time he went too soft it ended up with her sacrificing herself for them.

And he doesn't want to go soft nor can he because at any given moment, one of them could give their entire being just to save the others, and he's seen it way too many times, so he just can't.

Idk if this is a hot take but why is it always “Kai slaved away and worked his ass off to raise his sister” and never the other way round or them working hard together?

Like, I know he’s older but in the show, does he really… act older? Like if you think about Kai and Nya’s dynamic yknow? Because from my understanding:

When Kai and Nya are introduced we see Kai fail at making a sword and Nya being the one to chide him for it. Kai makes an overconfident statement about wanting to be a better blacksmith than his father. This suggests that one, Kai is rather rash as well as inexperienced (something that lines up with the rest of his character arc in the pots and also generally), with Nya being the more mature figure in contrast

Also just a note but in the shorts: “I can handle it!” “No you can’t, stupid”

Kai frequently being very good at neglecting people or things: leaving Lloyd at an arcade whilst being focused on finding samurai x, not even knowing samurai x was Nya or that she only did it because she felt left out by him, completely abandoning both Nya and Lloyd in s3 (and Ik he was going through it at the time, but in line with the fandom’s characterisation of him)

Kai in season 5: “After I lost my dad, I lost my way. But I was lucky to have my sister watch over me”

Generally, their dynamic isn’t one where Kai really provides for Nya at all. In fact, judging by the fact that Nya can make entire mechs and Kai struggled to make a sword, Nya was probably busting her ass to provide for Kai. And judging by the s5 quote, that’s probably true. I’m not saying Nya raised Kai, it just rubs me the wrong way when she’s treated like a decorative flourish to a narrative that paints Kai as a burnt out child who was forced to grow up too soon especially since that is such a mischaracterisation of him in the first place.

Ninjago - Ninjas When You're Being Protective

Kai

You guys were out on a date at a noodle parlor, just minding your business

You stepped away for a moment to refill your drink, and Kai managed to get himself in an argument with another customer while you were gone

To be fair, the other guy initiated it

He recognized the famous ninja and decided to be a degenerate

He was talking down to Kai pretty harshly, and Kai was struggling to defend his honor

It was getting more and more difficult to come up with comebacks as his anger rose and his pride deflated

You just about dropped your drink when you came back to see the two going at it

You stepped in immediately, barely stopping to think

"This your boyfriend? Way out of your league, fire boy-"

"Sorry, do we know you? I think I'd remember a stench like that—yeesh, by the way—but it'd be impolite not to at least ask."

Both Kai and his assailant's jaws dropped open

The guy turned bright red with anger, trying to stutter out a response before giving up with a frustrated grunt and storming off

You watched him leave, scowling bitterly

When he was finally gone, you turned to Kai to check on him

You expected him to be upset, but he was smiling

"Are you okay, Kai?"

"Am I okay? Are you kidding? That was awesome! Did you see his face?"

You blushed a little, joining in his hysterical laughter

Kai wrapped an arm around your shoulder and pulled you in to kiss your cheek, telling you how lucky he felt to have someone like you on his side

Jay

Jay had just finished fixing up a vintage motorcycle, a project he'd been working on for a long time

You didn't really trust the janky contraption; no matter how much Jay insisted that it was safe, you swore it looked like it was about to collapse

But you hated to stomp on his sandcastle, so you just watched while he poured gas into the tank for a test drive

Tapping your foot nervously, you decided that you couldn't just stand there

You wandered around the garage, gathering protective gear

You had a helmet, some shin guards, elbow pads, and a biking jacket when you approached Jay

He glanced at you once, then did a double-take when he saw what was in your arms

"Y/n, I am not wearing all that."

"And I am not letting you ride that timebomb without any protection."

Seeing that firm look in your eyes (which he not-so-secretly loved), Jay knew there was no winning

Though he'd never admit it, he actually liked when you were stern, even when it was directed at him

He sighed, letting you put the gear on him

You felt a lot better, but you still insisted on following behind on your own motorbike

As it turned out, you were right; you got about 100 feet out of the garage before the old bike's tire went flying, sending Jay straight to the asphalt

You ran to Jay's side, letting your own bike fall in your haste

He just smiled awkwardly up at you

"Uh... oops? Good thing you made me wear the gear, haha..."

You laughed, kissing the top of his head; you were just glad he was safe

And he was glad that you, like always, were looking out for him :)

Cole

This was way back when Cole still had a rough relationship with his dad

You managed to convince him to let you meet his father, though you could tell that he wasn't exactly excited

But you made sure to let him know how much you appreciated it

At first, you didn't see the problem

His dad seemed totally cordial and pleasant, if not a little rigid

The issue presented itself pretty quickly, however

You were sitting on the couch, catching up and getting to know each other

Cole was being weirdly cagey about his own life, so his father took the lead in the conversation

"You know, Cole used to be a really good dancer. Of course, there was a lot of room for improvement, haha! Oh, you should've seen his tumbling skills... the boy could hardly land a cartwheel."

You didn't like the way he was looking at Cole when he said it; you knew you had to do something, but you still wanted to respect Cole's privacy

"You don't know what you're talking about. Cole does flips, backflips, twists, turns—you should see him now."

Cole blinked at you, as did his father

The latter tried to laugh it off awkwardly, making some vague comment about Cole's continuance in dancing school

But, quite frankly, you'd seen enough

You ended the visit as politely as you could

Cole was still staring at you as you walked away

"What? I didn't like how he was talking about you, so I retaliated. Was that so wrong?"

Cole just smiled, draping an arm around you with a satisfied sigh

"No, it was actually kind of funny. And brave. I'm glad you said it."

He was more than glad; no way he would've stood up for himself in front of his father, so he was grateful that you were there

Zane

You guys were on a mission in an extremely remote town

The place barely had street lamps; needless to say, it was far from technologically advanced

You made a pit-stop for snacks at a run down little convenience store

You walked in first, looking ahead at the handful of aisles filled with dusty (probably expired) snacks you didn't recognize

You almost didn't notice the man at the counter by the door, but he spoke up rather loudly

He pointed to Zane, who was following close behind you

He said something about not serving "his kind"

That almost did it for you, but you decided to give him the benefit of the doubt

"What do you mean 'his kind'?"

"Robots, buddy. Beep-boops. You know, the things with no souls that take over every town and household they come into? Not. Welcome. Here."

You turned to face him, your expression hardening

Zane tried to stop you, insisting that he could just wait outside

"They're smart, I'll give 'em that. Say, while you're at it, why don't you go back to whatever evil over-industrialized decrepit city you came from!"

"Okay, that's it. I'm not going to stand here and let you insult a person who's got ten times more intellect and twenty times more soul than you'll ever have. Come on, Zane, our business is clearly not wanted here."

You held up the cash for him to see as you left, and the man behind the counter opened his mouth to try and get you to stay

Zane let you cool off a little, following silently while you stormed down the street

When you finally calmed down enough to ask if he was okay, he told you that he was just proud that you handled the situation civilly

He doesn't like violence, so he particularly admired your gentleness (he knew you could've been a lot meaner, and he's glad you weren't)

And that, though he hadn't really been offended, he found it endearing that you stood up for him

He squeezed your hand affectionately as you both continued down the dusty sidewalk

Lloyd

It was almost impossible to go anywhere with Lloyd without being stopped by a fan

You'd grown used to it; if anything, you were happy that so many people appreciated Lloyd

So you'd stand on the sidelines, smiling patiently while they got a photo and an autograph

But every now and again you'd get stopped by someone who wasn't a fan

You were just out for a walk when one such person stopped you

Actually, it was a group of men, hatred twinkling in their eyes

They came so close that the one at the front was just about nose-to-nose with Lloyd

"You think you're all that, huh? Just because you've got some fancy powers and you've 'saved the city,' you think you're so much better than everyone else?"

"Uh... no?"

"Tch, sure, play dumb. I miss the days when the police would take care of us. You didn't see us parading cops down the street and selling action figures of them! That's because they were humble!"

The men behind him were nodding aggressively, shouting their agreement and praise for cops

Your face twitched distastefully, and you wedged yourself between the front man and Lloyd

"I'd speak a little more respectfully to the guy who saved you from the literal personification of evil. Multiple times, mind you."

The guy's eyes narrowed; he clearly hadn't expected any pushback

He scoffed, making sure to step on your toe as he turned to storm off

Lloyd grabbed your shoulder groundingly, giving you a look that begged you to let them go

He thanked you for your support though, sliding his hand down your arm to hold your hand

He never really knew how to deal with haters, so he truly did appreciate you stepping in

(and he's lowkey hoping you will in the future too...)

Ive been reading Splinter in the Blind Mans Eye and ok. First of all, Lloyd has some serious issues. But we all knew that. What I came here to talk about today is one of those specific issues that is highlighted in this book.

His responsibility as the Green Ninja.

Listen, Lloyd has been feeling the heavy mantle of being the Green Ninja since he wore the gi for the first time. Hes been feeling the pressure on his shoulders from the ripe age of 9 years old, according to the book.

And the Ninja have been doing everything in their power to hold that away from him, to share the burden, to block him feom the full weight that could crush him. Theyve been doing that since day one, not letting him go on missions and expressing how upset and unfair it was during Childs Play when Lloyds fate accelerated.

And in the later seasons, when Lloyd takes on the mantle of being leader, they do their best to share that burden. But each time he disagrees, reminds him hes a leader, and takes on the full weight of being what Fate wants him to be.

The interesting thing is in the Wildbrain seasons, when Lloyd seems to change his mind, and let them help. While he might be making overall decisions, he tends to let Cole and Kai take over the emotional responsibility of being the leader. He allows himself to be babied sometimes. He lets his brothers and sister carry the weight of the world every once in a while.

And in SitBME we see why.

Lloyd was pushed to the edge in the MotO trilogy. He was put through things that messed him up and he’s slowly coming to terms with that. He put so much weight on himself as the Green Ninja that it was so easy for Harumi to get into his head, promise peace and understanding, and abuse him through it. He realized that his family was his strength, and while in SoG he was pushing them away constantly to go his own path, he now realized that he needs them.

The Green Gi may be a symbol to many, may be a source of strength, of responsibility. But the wearer is only a child, put through things unimaginable, sacrificing his life so that others can have theirs. Its unfair, he was paying a price that he didnt even understand, as the book says.

Lloyd realized he deserved more, in a sad way.

In Wildbrain he’s healing. Slowly, but surely. He puts trust in others, lets himself be a kid—something his siblings GREATLY encourage. He is broken, in a way. He is less trusting, and as he said himself—angrier. MotO took a toll on him, Hunted took a toll on him. But he is trying his best to heal. He is realizing that he is more than his gi, that he is a baby brother, a son, a nephew, a child. His whole purpose in life might be to be the savior of the world, but why cant he do that while playing videogames with Kai? While rambling about Starfarer to Jay? While eating candy with Cole? While learning to cook with Zane? While running with Nya?

He has fun more. He leans into his family. He accepts their hands and their swords by his side instead of behind him.

And that, my guys, is character growth.

Can we talk about Jay literally being psychotic and delusional at the beginning of Crystalized more

Like he LITERALLY fits the medical definitions of psychotic and delusional.

I’ve analyzed Jay’s mental stability before but there’s a reason his behavior is how it is at the beginning of Crystalized. Jay is literally the most mentally and emotionally unstable person on the ninja’s team. He needs to be around people to stay mentally and emotionally stable, and he lost that when he became a hermit.

In Jay’s case, mental and emotional instability leads to psychosis.

That psychosis is why he seemed to take Nya’s sacrifice worse than Kai. That psychosis is why he didn’t think anyone else cared that Nya was gone. That psychosis is why he was talking to glasses of water like they were Nya.

He was literally so detached from reality that he was experiencing delusions, and possibly hallucinations (specifically auditory ones in the form of hearing Nya speaking to him) to cope with losing Nya.

I can understand being upset with Jay’s behavior at the beginning of Crystalized, but I also don’t think it needs to be criticized from a writing standpoint. Jay’s mental health needs to be taken into account when we talk about how he grieves. He’s not mentally stable and frankly I don’t think he’s ever been whereas the rest of the team does pretty well staying grounded on their own, why is how Jay responded to Nya’s sacrifice so surprising? Because when you take Jay’s mental health into account it shouldn’t be surprising.

It’s even shown that once Jay regains some of that mental stability that requires he be around other people his grief is closer in exhibition to Kai’s.

But people still don’t acknowledge that the reason Jay acted like he was the only one who cared about Nya is because he was in a psychotic state, and I hate it. Jay’s psychosis in Crystalized NEEDS to be acknowledged more.

Also before someone brings up Tournament of Elements, Jay didn’t become a hermit in Tournament of Elements and thus was still around other people, which probably kept him sane and grounded. He literally retreated to the lighthouse prison and became a hermit after Seabound.

Dr pt2 spoiler warning

This was a fantastic set of episodes

• Kai and wyldfire are everything. Kai having to deal with someone who acts like he did in the earlier seasons is poetic justice and funny as hell.

• I also like how they kinda tried to explain why Kai seemed calm after sea bound and nyas seaifcation. I guess Kai meditating with wu would make him calmer. At least it confirms that Kai was upset (even if they didn’t show it)

•I am kinda upset that nothing from skybound was brought up with the Djinn. I personally don’t really like skybound but I still find that it could be used more than just oh yah that happened right wink wink. I mean we had to suffer through skybound for something right?

• I actually really liked sora and nyas whole plot with the Djinns curse. It was fun and had a nice conclusion.

• Coles return is great I love his little gang in the land of forgotten things. My favorite has to be the skeleton girl (I forgot her name probably cuz they only say it like 2 times) she’s funny.

• I do wish there was a scene where nyas like btw I found Cole and the other ninja react. I mean she does mention it at the end but no one except Zane has any real reaction.

• Beatrix going off the rails was really funny. It felt like someone gave a teen with daddy issues an insta death weapon.

• rapton switching sides kinda came out of left field for me. Like the guy isn’t the brightest bulb in the box I think it would be more likely for other characters to switch sides. Also how did he recover from being tased so quickly? Man was out cold and not two minutes later he was up and walking around.

• kinda felt that the whole being sucked into non existence should have had more lasting effects (totally not because I want to traumatize or brutally injure Kai no why would I want that /s) tho fake out deaths are pretty par for the course with ninjago, this one actually didn’t make me feel all that much cuz I knew the moment wyldfire got pulled in that this was a fake out. They wouldn’t kill one of there new characters that quickly.

•so wus just legitimately fudging dead. Never thought we would see the day when this old mad would just peace out. Also ghost wu legit looks like he’s slowly loosing his form or something cuz in the first half he appears with his full body but in the last scene he’s in he’s just a chest and a head. It might have just been a stylistic thing tho.

•I’m not mad jay only showed up for around 30 seconds (this just might be my bias tho cuz jays probably the ninja I care the least about, not that I hate him or anything he’s just not that interesting to me) it’s kinda refreshing for me cuz nya gets to be her own character for a bit and not be completely attached to Jay and Jay gets to take up less screen time (if I am being honest Jay had so much focus in the wild brain seasons it kinda got annoying to me personally) idk if he’s actually lost his memories or if that leak is wrong cuz it would make sense cuz he has not searched for the ninja (specifically nya cuz that man is a simp for his gf) Arin missing him by a second is hilarious to me.

•not sure about how I feel about Lloyd being the linchpin for the entire thing. Part of me thinks that it would have fit the shows themes better if all of them used their elemental powers or something else to power the cores to fix everything. But another part of me understands that Lloyd get main character privileges cuz he’s the son of ninjago god.

•still kinda frustrated that they are changing how elemental powers work. Originally they were from the first spinjitzu master, but the whole source dragon being the source (for lack of a better word) of the elemental powers, it completely retcons and nerfs the first spinjitzu master. It would have made more sense if they still came from the powers of the fsm and were gifted through the source dragons to people.

•the implication of the cursed realm merging with the rest of the realms brings up the question if the departed realm merged to? Does that mean no one can die??? Or is there some sort of force that still keeps the departed realm separated from the rest (like how the people in the land of the forgotten can’t leave) or can some dude just wander in to the departed realm and see like there dead grandma chilling with the fsm having tea or some crap like that.

Hellooooo!! Had to think about this for a bit; I really didn't give Jay too much mind when making this AU lol. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed getting to flesh out this AU further using your questions so thank you so much for asking! :D I made the AU for Libber and Ice but it's always fun to expand on other characters and how the changes the AU makes affects them.

This post turned out longer than I expected (oops. I love infodumping about my AUs, sorry lol) so the answers in their entirety are under the cut! Spoilers for Prime Empire and Dragons Rising (though nothing particularly about s2) are mentioned though.

The short answers are: Jay is still adopted, Libber left him at the Walkers' doorstep before dying. And yes, Jay has a wolf form like Libber does, but he can't access it until after the Merge.

The long answers:

The second question is easy - the comic on my other post initially had a third page that would've answered this but I found it difficult to get to flow well so I scrapped it. When the Walkers arrive home after coming across Libber, they find Jay on their doorstep. The idea is that she had left him at a safe place as a final act before succumbing to whatever killed her. (Much like in Wolf Children, I don't have a particular cause of death thought out.) Ed and Edna don't make the connection between the child on their doorstep and the wolf on the highway of course, because why would they?

As for whether Jay has an animal form... On one hand I find it very amusing when characters of non-human heritage turn out to be just normal humans, and Cliff Gordon is still completely human in this AU, but I also think it'd be boring to ignore his heritage completely for the sake of the bit. After mulling it over I've come up with this:

Jay grows up showing quirks that align with him being half raijū, but nothing that can't be explained by him being the elemental master of lightning or just a peculiar (and probably neurodivergent) child; these are things like a fascination of thunderstorms, abnormal resistance towards electrical shocks, hyperactivity, a tendency to chew on things...

He has no idea that his biological mother wasn't human until after the events of Prime Empire when Wu, now aware that Jay knows he's adopted as he used it to reason with Unagami, requests to speak to Jay privately. He explains that, if Jay has an animal form then he shouldn't feel like he has to hide it from the team as he is sure that they'd accept him, much like Libber's teammates accepted her. This is sweet and all, but Jay is very confused what he means about having an animal form. And thus begins the explanation of who or what exactly Libber was.

After learning that he isn't completely human, Jay isn't really upset - hell, Zane and Lloyd have both dealt with the same thing and it turned out fine - but he only talks about it with Nya. This is part of my general characterisation of Jay where I feel like he doesn't keep too many deliberate secrets, but does only mention certain things about himself on a need-to-know basis meaning that, while he doesn't care if the team knows he's adopted, only Nya, Zane, and Pixal know that he is (Zane and Pixal for being present at the end of Prime Empire). Nya 'needs to know' because she is his yang thank you very much. Nya helps him to research about raijū and they find out that they can come in a variety of forms. Jay thinks he'd look like a noble and mighty creature, maybe a lion or an eagle. Nya thinks he'd be a chihuahua.

Nonetheless, that seems to be the extent of it; Jay doesn't figure out if he has an animal form or how to use it, and all that's changed is that Nya has become a lot more aware of her yin's oddities. That is, until Dragons Rising.

I think after the Merge, Jay has no issues with accessing his animal form: much like his mother, he's a wolf-like canid. If you told him, he'd probably never believe that he had spent the first 20-or-so years of his life with no clue to his heritage and no abilities related to it when his natural state of self after getting amnesia is to flux between forms. Maybe it developed as one of the strange effects of the Merge, or maybe its a new ability as a result of his environment, much akin to Cole's rock golem. Nonetheless, it serves as a message to Nya that this isn't the same Jay she knew before the Merge. He flaunts his heritage to the team that he never told and has changed, both physically and as a person, without her there to see.

As for the P.S, I'm not entirely sure what scene you are talking about - there's quite a few where I imagine Yuki could be described as feral lol - but Libber is overall quite alike to Yuki in my mind, particularly when she is younger and less concerned with hiding her wolf side.

Aka, the lighthouse scene: Bad Ending

The heavy evening air came in warm and salty from the windows. They both knew a battle was imminent, but there was nothing left to do but wait.

“I want you to have this.” Jay gingerly handed the full teapot to his companion. “If anything happens to me, use the Traveler's Tea to get yourself out of here. He's convinced he's going to marry you. If that happens, nothing can stop him.”

Nya’s face soured, as she slumped back, hands gripping the strap which now held the tea to her body

Jay’s face puzzled to match her’s, trying to read her emotions. “Uh...um...you're upset. What did I say?”

Nya sighed. “It's nothing you said. It's just...both of you seem so convinced you see a future with me.”

Jay reached forward to place her hand on her shoulder. “Well, the good news is, we already know which one of us is right.”

Nya jerked herself away, groaning. “You really don’t see that as a problem?”

“What?!” Jay stood back defensively. “It’s not like I’m wrong!”

“Don’t you see how imposing you’re being?!” Nya pleaded with him.

“I’m not being imposing, I’m just stating the facts!” Jay stressed. “I don’t get what I’m doing wrong! Where is all this resistance still coming from?!”

Nya’s eyes narrowed, fiery adrenaline now rushing through her body. “Oh, you’re unsure why the girl you claim ownership of won’t stop resisting you?”

“I get it,” Jay sighed, rolling his eyes. “We had this whole blow out, and you couldn’t choose between me or Cole, you were confused, but it seems that decision is pretty easy to make now, isn’t it?”

“It was never about choosing between you two-”

“Then what was all of this for?!” Jay wave his hands around, his body tensing up again.

“Being able to choose!” Nya screamed back. “To be able to make a choice!”

“Well guess what, your choices are now pretty limited.” Jay narrowed his eyes as he leaned forward. “And I’m the only one you’ve got left, so I don’t know why you’re taking so long to decide.”

“I don’t have to choose you.” Nya folded her arms.

“I don’t think you’re getting it. There’s no point in delaying everything with this defiance period.” Jay continued, exasperated. “I saw the future! You were with me! It’s going to happen!”

“I know!” Nya yelled back, tears beginning to leave her eyes. “I know, I know already! I knew before you did!”

Jay paused, his anger still writhing. “What?”

Nya wiped away tears, her voice lowering. “I knew. I already knew.”

Jay’s face furrowed in confusion. “What do you mean ‘you knew’ you didn’t-”

“You think Zane’s the only one on the team getting visions?!” Nya cut him off. “The universe told me, a long time ago.” She turned her back to him, her shoulders hunching as she held herself. “The night I met you, I had the most vivid dream. So tangible, that I knew it had to be a premonition… and I was with you.”

Jay’s mind raced, struggling to process the new information. “So you knew, the whole time we’ve known each other? Through the dating, and the Cole situation…”

Nya turned back around, but her eyes still refused to look back at him, now swollen and drowning. “You couldn’t talk the day I met you,” she smiled. “So the first time I heard your voice was in that dream.” The tears started to slow as she recalled the memory. “I didn’t recognize where we were, or even really know what it was we were doing, but I remember feeling so happy.”

“That’s all I want.” Jay slowly moved forward, making an attempt to grab her hands. “I just want you to be happy.”

Nya ripped her arm back, wiping away more tears. “No you don’t, Jay.” She shook her head. “You want you to be happy. And you think you need me for that to happen.”

Jay thought for a moment, still uncertain what all of this meant. “You said you were happy in the dream. Doesn’t that mean you’d be happy with me?”

“You know what, maybe one day I would be, Jay,” she shrugged. “But even if I do end up with you eventually, and it does make me happy, you know what I know for sure?” her eyes narrowed as she looked up at him. “You don’t make me happy right now.”

“Nya-”

“I’m serious!” she snapped back, straightening up. “I don't care what the future holds, you're asking me to be in a relationship with you right now, and that is not something I want right now. I don't know how you can't get that through your head."

"And, what? I'm just supposed to wait around for you to change your mind someday for some undiscernible reason?"

"You're supposed to stop! I hate being around you when you’re all starstruck and pushy like this. I hate the way you look at me. I hate having to endure all your endless attempts to impress me, and I hate having to pretend like it didn’t happen, or be seen as the jerk for pointing it out! And I hate having to tell you no, repeatedly, constantly, in as many ways as I can think to, only for you to ignore it, and continue to treat me like a video game you just haven’t figured out how to win yet!” Nya’s rage faded, a few more tears falling down her cheeks. “I hate being around you, and as much as you might feel you need me, I do not want you.”

Jay stood there, unable to accept the words being thrown at him, but unable to rebuke them either.

“And you know what?” a strict confidence entered Nya’s voice as she moved closer. “The man I knew in the dream would have respected that. He would have stepped away a long time ago. So, if you can’t do that-” her finger pushed forward, resting on his chest as her eyes stared sharply down into his, delivering with them a certainty of her words. “Then you are not the man I marry.”

DR SEASON 2 PT 1 GENERAL THOUGHTS AND OPINIONS TIME

In vaguely chronological order (I have already forgotten half of what happened ✌️)

I definitely think the first half is kinda… weak? Somehow? The latter half tho. Oh that latter half. It just felt stronger when we had more stuff going on, I guess. It really started picking up once we met the dragon masters

Man I’m also curious about what got Egalt so emo about humans. Give me the elderly dragon emo backstory…. Give me the centuries old tea about what happened….

Dorama is just?? Hanging out in the desert I guess???? I wonder if we’ll ever get a follow up on that or if it’s just. Y’know. Also I wonder how he controls that puppet thing. Cuz it doesn’t have strings but also I feel like if it was a robot he would be like. Piloting it or something. Who knows.

Ras AND Lloyd have visions…. It’s makes me suspicious somehow. Especially since Ras’ master is kind of associated with gold/yellow. Is his master a source dragon? Like, an evil source dragon??? Cuz that’s the only being we’ve seen so far that can induce visions like that but idk…

When Ras put that shocker thing on the forbidden five guy’s neck, that was like, genuinely kinda scary/intimidating. Cuz like, the whole time, the forbidden five were like, spoken about all mysteriously n stuff. But then Ras just comes in like “ur working for me lol you do what I tell you to ✌️”. Like all the Blood Moon stuff made it seem like they’d be an unstoppable force once they were through that portal, but it turns out they were just another piece of some big evil plan. Crazy.

Now the REAL question is… how the tf is wyldfyre gonna get a boyfriend?? Is it just gonna be some guy she meets in pt 2? Like just some random ass dude????? Cuz there’s been zero (0) setup for that plot point in pt 1, so I have no idea how that’s gonna play out. I’m not upset abt it I’m just totally completely lost and confused if that makes sense. Like how do we even get there bro???

I think that most if not all of the Ninja are probably regressors.

I think that Kai, and Zane are probably flip's, regressor leaning

Jay and Nya are flips's caregiver leaning

Cole and Lloyd are mainly caregivers but will regress sometimes

Also I feel like Lloyd would totally hide his regression a lot more post-season 7 because he has to be the team leader now and doesn't feel like he's allowed to regress :( (But he is and the other Ninja help him feel comfortable with himself as much as they can)

Now for more organised ramblings

Kai:

When he regresses, he's very clingy, but at the same time, he doesn't like to be treated as helpless

He's more likely to take charge when little. He'll try to do everything himself. For example, Trying to shove his way past Zane to do the cooking, even if it is something he's completely unskilled at cooking

He uses his powers a lot more mainly because he has very little control over them, meaning with the last example if he is trying to help with cooking, it is very likely for the kitchen to just end up in flames.

He would spend most of his time with Nya because she's most familiar to him, not to say he wouldn't spend time with anyone else.

He can commonly be seen asking Cole for uppies, or piggyback rides

He may look like an endless ball of energy but once he burns out he basically cuddles up and sleeps like a cat

Can be very grumpy

He also gets overwhelmed very easily, even more so than when he's big so loud sounds or bad textures may very quickly lead to a meltdown

Zane can help with that though, his ice somehow always seems to calm him down

Jay:

Jay is constantly off the wall when regressed

Do not give him candy because if you do he will never sit still again

He's still very into his tinkering but to make sure he doesn't hurt himself he's mainly given more of those kids toys to take apart instead

Loves playing with those boxes where you put shapes into the holes

As a caregiver as much as Jay loves to look after other people he very much struggles with it

He finds it easier to caregiver for Zane or Nya (Sometimes) as they are more so at a pace he can manage

But with him zooming around constantly he surprisingly doesn't mesh well with littles who do act like him

He likes alphabet soup, idk why this is just my truth for little Jay

Zane:

Zane will regress more in public than he is comfortable with

You can tell he's regressed because he will become fidgety and more quite than normal

He is perfectly able to do things for himself because he's a robot

But he loves for people to help him doing things it makes him feel so much more loved and little

He loves being picked up and Kai, Nya, and Cole seem to be the only ones capable of doing so (metal is heavy)

He has good control over his powers but that does not mean he does not use it to get up to mischef

Nya:

She is the kind of little who does not have a filter on what she says and it makes for hilarious conversations with her caregivers.

She's very picky with her food like her brother and will be vocal about

If she and Kai are regressed at the same time they will destroy the area

Nya is very good at roping other people into her shenanigans

Child who bites but it's out of affection

But at the same time if someone upsets someone she cares about she will become absolutely silent to that person and you can just feel her glaring across the room even if you did it by accident

And with the upset person she will do her very best to cheer them up

She likes to chew on things and it helps her calm

Cole:

You will barely ever see him regress but when he does he is sooooo eepy

The eepiest guy ever

He will just lie on you and then you will never be able to get up again

Crushed

But he is warm like a hot water bottle

Lloyd:

He likes to hide away when he regresses, and seeing his door locked is an immediate tell.

He loves candy but unlike Jay it won't make him jump of the wall

Yuu and the Magical Power of Songs

Yuu Singer, Pomefiore (Rainbow Connection)

Yuu didn't know how to feel about the VDC/SDC result.

His friends had worked hard during practice, Epel greatly overcame his problems with Vil and managed to bring back the Pomefiore prefect after his OverBlot. Yuu believed that they would win.

But no, he had to win the Royal Sword Academy and ruin the happiness of the boys.

He had nothing against the RSA; he only knew a handful of that school, and he could only tell that his opinion of them was neutral.

The white-haired young man wished he could have participated, but the rules of the event prohibited any being with "the voice of the gods" from participating.

Schoenheit even told him that it was a shame he wasn't a member of the group as a singer, but he understood that the rule made the contest fairer.

Fortunately for Yuu, Crowley told him to do a solo show to close out the VDC/SDC.

Yuu agreed at that moment, he already had better control of his power and was excited to show it on TV…. Although he was regretting it a bit now, he was very nervous.

"Roi des chanteurs, what is the nervousness?". Rook asked Yuu. "Your gift for singing is exceptionnel." Said the hunter in a breath. "Rook is right! You have an incredible voice." Kalim exclaimed, Jamil next to him assented to that statement. "It's true Yuu. I really don't understand this silly fear, you've already sung in front of several people. Relax silly~". Said Ace with a somewhat mocking expression. Deuce hit him on the back of the neck. "Ace, don't tease." "Nya… the guys are right witty, trust your magic." Grimm told him.

Yuu smiled a little. "It's not that I don't trust my gift, the problem is that…" Yuu didn't even know what the problem was. Vil on the other hand did know. "Yuu, look at me." Yuu looked at the undisputed king of the beauty dorm. "You have a unique gift in singing and dancing, and I can tell you with complete sincerity that you are someone I aspire to be." He finished saying Schoenheit with a smile.

Everyone was shocked by that statement. Vil knew that reaction would occur, but he wasn't lying; Yuu would be the only one he would look up to and admit he was envious of him.

"Don't cry, you'll ruin the makeup." I scolded Vile at Yuu seeing the tears in his eyes. Yuu nodded determinedly. "Thank you, thank you everyone."

Everyone hugged Yuu; the young prefect couldn't feel happier. "Break yourself a leg buddy." Epel said.

That's when he decided that he would show the RSA what he was made of.

The NRC students were upset and saddened by the result. It seemed like either the universe hated them or the institution was cursed because they never won against the RSA.

Meanwhile the RSA students present were happy, they won. Some thought their rivals deserved to win and others felt smug to be able to rub their rivals in the face with another victory.

Everyone in the arena had their opinions, but they had to admit that it was a very close VDC/SDC. As they were about to leave to enjoy the tents set up on campus, Dire Crowley took the stage.

"Good afternoon everyone". He greeted the director of NRC. This confused many because they thought the event was over. The cameramen began filming again assuming that something juicy was coming due to the rivalry between the RSA and NRC. "This year's VDC has been unique in my opinion, but I feel like it's missing something to make it great and worth remembering." Dire was enjoying everyone's confusion. Yuu's performance had been a matter that had been discussed with the educational board and the event organizers to be kept strictly secret until the public chose the winner of the VDC. "I have the pleasure and honor to present to you a young man with a gift few possess… the voice of the gods." The public was shocked. Those of the RSA even more so, those who possessed the "voice of the gods" were usually invited to join their institution. There has never been one to sign up with the NRC until now. "Give a big round of applause to Yuu Ross!" Dire exclaimed before disappearing from the stage with a snap of her fingers. He appeared behind Yuu before he went to the stage. "Show them the greatness of Night Raven College." Yuu winked and left…

The audience erupted in applause when they saw a young man with dark skin, white hair and green eyes; He wore a black shirt under a turquoise floral-patterned vest, tight black pants, turquoise thick-heeled boots, and a gold crown with gem-studded flowers. In his hand was a wooden banjo.

Yuu put his nervousness aside, everything would be fine. He glanced at Malleus, who was watching him closely. He had to talk after this because of the revelations from a few hours ago, but nothing that changed their friendship. Malleus looked visibly more relaxed when Yuu sent him a smile; there were no recons.

Yuu took a deep breath and began to play the banjo…

~Why are there so many songs about rainbows~ ~And what's on the other side?~ ~Rainbows are visions, but only illusions~ ~And rainbows have nothing to hide~

The magic worked almost instantly; the stage floor was transformed into a beautiful green grass filled with wildflowers, the pillars were filled with vines and white roses, and the screens flickered with static until they showed videos of crystal clear lakes. At the Royal Sword Academy they were speechless when they saw a fairy tale prince who was somehow from NRC and not theirs… a feeling they didn't know began to fill the hearts of the most pampered and pretentious.

Yuu looked at Vil, who was watching with the other team members to the side of the stage. With a wave of his hand, he told him to come closer; Vil looked at him and could only see a phrase engraved in those green eyes. "It's time for you to go all the way, like one of the heroes." Pomefiore's guardian walked slowly as he followed Yuu's chant.

~So we've been told, and some choose to believe it~ Vile sang.

~I know they're wrong, wait and see~ Yuu sang to him.

The Ramshackle and Pomefiore prefects looked at each other, ready to show that even if they lost the VDC they would not surrender to anything and anyone.

Ace, Deuce, Kalim, Epel and Rook smiled knowingly before going to the stage. Jamil wasn't so sure until he felt a push on his foot. It was Grim. "Go silly!" He growled at the little monster. Jamil snorted before following the others with a smile. For the first time in its history, the NRC felt peace, the grudge against their rival school forgotten as they listened to a song so unique that it reminded them that they had not reached the end of the road yet.

~Who said that every wish would be heard and answered~ ~When wished on the morning star? ~ ~Somebody thought of that, and someone believed it~ ~Look what it's done so far~

Cater couldn't resist the urge and without anyone noticing he ran to the stage, he was going to give a touch with his guitar. Lilia also had the same idea, but he would go a little later and felt that it was not yet the time to include the sound of the drums.

~What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing~ ~And what do we think we might see? ~ ~Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection~ ~The lovers, the dreamers, and me~

Ambrose 63 was speechless. He never thought he would live to see the NRC students unite, putting aside the differences between his dormitories.

~All of us under its spell~ ~We know that it's probably magic~

"Your friend is certainly unique." He told Che'nya to Trey and Riddle. They nodded before beginning to clap to the rhythm of the song. Leona, who was somehow holding back tears, couldn't help but hug Ruggie around him shoulders. The hyena beastman returned the hug, also holding back tears. Jack for the first time didn't care that they saw his feelings and he shed tears at the moving meaning of the song.

Yuu's magic caused all of the NRC students to start chanting. They were aware of this and didn't care.

~Have you been half asleep, and have you heard voices? ~ ~I've heard them calling my name~

Neige was touched. He had the idea that his group and the NRC group would sing together to show unity, but this surprise performance was a thousand times better. "After so many years, you're finally you again." He thought seeing Vil so relaxed and carefree; He met that Vil, at an autograph signing and it was that meeting that motivated him to enter the world of acting. Although when the black haired one achieved his goal, the Vil he knew was gone. And now he was back. "Thank you Yuu-kun." He whispered before hugging his friends.

Cater arrived backstage a bit shaken, but ready for the song's climax. When Lilia felt Cater's presence behind the scenes, he looked at Malleus and seeing him happy with the show, he disappeared from her seat. Silver looked at the empty place of the old one of him-that is, Lilia, she raised an eyebrow in confusion.

~I've heard it too many times to ignore it~

When Lilia suddenly appeared sitting on the drum kit, Cater's heart nearly stopped in shock. "Wh-what." "fufufu~ No time, ready?" the fae asked his friend. Cater smiled with his acoustic guitar ready. "Always". And they started playing to Yuu's delight.

Dire Crowley couldn't be more proud of his students. Yuu had achieved something that in his years as an educator he had not been able to do … unite all of Night Raven College and give them the strength not to give up.

A beautiful rainbow formed over the arch of the stage and the sky turned various shades of orange and red, making for a perfect sunset.

The audience gave a standing ovation and applauded for such a fantastic end to the event. The NRC in its entirety, from students and teachers were made a sea of tears, even the most sullen. From his room, Idia Shroud hugged his little brother. "It was a nice song right nii-san." "Yes Ortho, yes it was." He said her feeling happiness and sadness for the song.

Vil looked at Yuu and when Yuu felt his gaze, he looked straight into his eyes. "Thank you, fellow prefect." Yuu smiled. "You're welcome Schoenheit-senpai." Yuu looked back at the audience. "Thank you all! It only remains for me to say, congratulations to the Royal Sword Academy." He said nodding to Neige. "As for the NRC…" he paused dramatically. "Remember there is still a long way to go, a round of applause to our representatives in this edition of the VDC for such a great effort." NRC students delivered; those in the group held hands and bowed to the audience.

The overbearing and pampered of the RSA finally realized what they felt… envy and fear. Envy because they had such an incredible person and fear because it seemed that said person held them together to the point that they could achieve anything, maybe beat them in their next competition...

In a small bar near the borders of Shaftlands, a old man was shocked by what he saw on television. The old man was fair-skinned, with violet-almost black iris eyes, black hair with gray almost hidden by a wool cap and wearing thick clothing due to the cold of the region. "Friend?". Asked a bartender behind the bar. "Y-yes? Sorry I was surprised by the show." The old man said, feigning emotion. "I imagine, Night Raven College really outdid itself." The waitress said before handing the man a bag. "That's 15 thaumarks/madols." The old man looked into the waitress's eyes and using his unique magic made her believe that she had already paid her. "Thanks for the food dear." The old man said before leaving. The waitress nodded a bit dazedly. The man walked along a path in the woods while he was thinking.

"Damn Nabila, and I thought you had died without giving birth." Thought the old man. Yuu Ross was the spitting image of the woman he married and lost his kingdom to. "So… Yuu, interesting name for my descendant." He whispered with a mischievous smile. "He will be mine and with his gift, my kingdom will rise again". In his hand, green magic sizzled in his hands. "Speciosus, formosus, praeclarus!". The instant he recited the incantation, his appearance changed. He was now a young man of 16, thin, with effeminate facial features and vibrant ebony hair. "It's time to go back to school." He said with a mischievous chuckle.

Overwhelmed(Vinny x Garmadon) Part 25

(Check out part 1-24 if you haven't already)

When Nya left Vinny was left alone with his thought thinking about what she said and what he told her, "Maybe telling her all that was a bad idea..." he thought to himself, "No I can trust her she's good at keeping secrets.....I'm just paranoid she wouldn't....". Vinny let out a sigh before sitting up and looking around, he wrapped a blanket around himself, it was surprisingly cold today. "Does he think I'm mad at him....he seemed sad when he left...." Vinny said to himself as he thought about Garmadon wondering if he took what he said the wrong way.

"God damnit....I can tell him when he gets here..." Vinny thought, he tried keeping himself from thinking about anything else knowing very well he'll begin to overthink about that. The cameraman let out a sigh before laying back down on the bed, he closed his eyes and what felt like an eternity but was actually 5 minutes later Garmadon came in, without Vinny knowing and sat down next to him. "Are you feeling alright?" The oni asked this caught Vinny of guard and made him jump slightly. "H-Holy...Garm don't scare me like that, you're gonna give me a heart attack" Vinny chuckled out.

Garmadon smiled, "So are you feeling better?" the oni asked as he stroked his hand through his lovers' hair. "Yea, that cream helped a lot" Vinny said as he smiled softly and nuzzled against Garmadon. The oni was being much more hesitant with his movements he didn't know if Vinny was mad at him. The cameraman noticed this, "Is something bothering you?" Vinny asked missing his lovers' affection. "Yes..." Garmadon responded. The smaller went closer to him, "Did I do something wrong?" Vinny asked hoping he didn't upset his lover. "W-what? No...of course not" Garmadon responded. "You're acting different did something happen? You can tell me" The cameraman said desperately wanting to know what was bothering his lover.

"D-Did I do something to make you upset or angry?" Garmadon hesitantly asked, "No, why would you think that?" Vinny responded, maybe Garmadon did take it the wrong way. "I-I....just you seemed a little irritated, because of me..." the oni said while avoiding eye contact. "Oh sweetheart...I'm not mad at you I promise, I'm just really tired" Vinny replied as he hugged Garmadon. "Okay...I just wanted to make sure.." the oni responded, Vinny let out a sigh before kissing Garmadons' face all over making him light up with blush.

"I can't be mad at you after the way you made me feel last night~" Vinny said in a flirty tone making Garmadon hide his face in embarrassment. Vinny chuckled before letting out a yawn, "Why don't you join to sleep?" the cameraman asked earning a enthusiastic nod from Garmadon. The two were still exhausted from last night for obvious reason and lied down together before drifting off to sleep.

"Awww they're so cute" Nya whispered as she was fangirling while peeking into the room with Lloyd who was traumatised and Master Wu who was snickering to himself.

The oni reader was initially a spy but over time grew feelings for one of the ninjas or Pixal. The ninja and pixal learn that they are an oni and was originally a spy by another oni who escaped from season 10 fight. I need Angst and Fluff.

Ninjago - Nya With an Oni Spy

You hastily adjusted your hair and clothing while you speed-walked through the forest. One of the downsides of shifting into your human form was that you always looked a mess right after.

When you first began your mission as a spy for the Oni, this annoyed you because you’d frequently change between your human form and your Oni form. While you gave your frequent reports to your Oni higher-ups, you’d be in Oni form. When you were with the ninjas, you’d be in human form.

Luckily this wasn’t much of a problem anymore. You’d been successful in distancing yourself from your Oni connections over time, coming up with clever excuses to avoid your meetings and offering scant information when you were forced to. This frustrated your commanders to no end, but they had other matters to worry about, so you got away with it. You smirked to yourself at the memory of the General’s face as you again reported that you found “nothing worth mentioning.” You imagined steam coming out of his ears and had to put your hand over your mouth to keep from laughing.

The Bounty was in view now. Climbing on deck, you didn’t see anyone. Strange, you thought. They should’ve finished patrols an hour ago.

A crashing noise from the cabin caught your attention. Following it, you pressed your ear to the door first, trying to discern who (or what) might’ve caused the noise.

Your heart shriveled and fell from your chest when you heard a familiarly gravelly voice say: “We have our ways of knowing things.”

It was the General. He must’ve been caught after your meeting! You burst into the room in your excitement, not bothering to think.

You locked eyes with the General. His glowing eyes were burning with indignation. After a moment he seemed to recognize your human form, and a sense of amusement overtook his expression.

“Speak of the little deviant,” he spat, nodding at you.

The eyes of all the ninjas were now on you. You found shock, disbelief, anger, and betrayal in their faces.

You scrambled to defend yourself. “Come on, guys, you can’t believe this guy! Do you really think I’m an Oni spy sent here to monitor your every move?”

Your words didn’t help at all. If anything, they solidified the upset looks in your friends’ faces. “We never said anything about a spy,” Kai said, crossing his arms.

You paled. Realizing that there was no way out of it now, you began: “Can you at least let me explain—”

Angry shouts silenced you.

“You filthy liar!” Jay pointed accusingly.

“Dude…” Cole just shook his head.

“I can’t believe I trusted you!” Kai took a step forward, as if to attack you, but was stopped by a hand on his shoulder.

The hand belonged to Nya. You looked into her dark eyes, struck with the thorough pain filling the dark brown pupils. Her lips were pressed into a thin line, and she turned her head away. Somehow, that was more painful than anything she could’ve said.

“Nya…” you breathed, shoulders slumping in devastation.

Kai, perceiving his sister’s anguish, grabbed her hand. “Don’t talk to her,” he spat protectively. “Don’t talk to any of us. Just get out of here!”

You looked at the others. Lloyd. Wu. Someone who might have a little more sense than to just throw you out on the spot. But you found no such person in the room. It was clear that they all wanted you gone.

As you turned to leave, you heard the dark cackling of the Oni General. You paused in the threshold, fists balling up. Your anger made you rigid; you found yourself frozen in place as each disgusting laugh stoked a fire in your chest.

After a few seconds, you whirled around, flying at the General. With four arms you came at him, knocking the chair to which he was tied over. In the commotion one of your claws snapped the rope, and the General sprang up, sending you sprawling to the side.

He might’ve been bigger than you (even in your Oni form), but you were younger, and faster. You seized his ankles, digging your claws in and pulling. He fell flat on his face, and while he was stunned you pounced on his back, pinning him down. You pressed your knee into the back of his neck.

“You traitor! I always knew you had a soft spot for humans! You are a disgrace to the Oni!”

“I don’t care. My loyalties lie nowhere near you monsters.”

The General gasped with difficulty. “You speak as if you are not one of us.”

“As far as I’m concerned,” a high voice piped up from the sidelines, “they’re not one of you.”

You whirled around, heart already soaring, to see Nya stepping forward. She smiled at you—smiled!—and placed a hand on your shoulder. You gazed into each other’s eyes for a long time. The General suddenly stopped squirming under you.

“Ack…” you stood up suddenly, awkwardly realizing that you’d just choked him unconscious. “Oops.”

Now that you were at your full height, Nya stepped closer. She looked up at you, eyes glancing over your devilish face. Your heart throbbed with anxiety, but there was acceptance in her face, and she reached to grab two of your hands as she looked over the rest of your body.

“Do you trust me?” You murmured, anxious to hear her response. In that moment, you didn’t even care what the others thought. So long as this beautiful gem before you believed that you’d never hurt them—never hurt her—you’d be satisfied.

She took a second to respond. Then, with a little smirk, she brought a hand to cup your cheek. “I knew it couldn’t be true.”

“I was a spy,” you blurted. “At first.” Her eyes narrowed, and you scrambled to continue. “But you… you changed the way I thought about you ninjas. I stopped giving information after a few weeks. If anything, I’d give them misinformation. I wanted to keep you safe.”

You brought a pair of arms to cup her face. “And I want to keep helping you. I don’t believe in the Oni anymore. I believe in you.” You looked up, sending devotional glances to everyone in the room. “More than that,” you returned your gaze to Nya, “I love you.”

Nya’s eyes sparkled. A huge grin curved her plump lips as she moved her hand to the back of your neck and pulled you down to kiss you.

When you pulled away, completely dazed with your heart thumping at a million miles an hour, she was still smiling. “I love you too. That’s why I knew you were on our side.”

You had forgotten about the others in the room. You jumped when Lloyd placed his hand on your shoulder and told you he was glad to have such an ally. The others echoed his sentiment, assuring you that they didn’t care what you were, they only cared what you were now, and that was their friend.

Nya shot you a mischievous look when they said that. “Maybe a little more than friends,” it seemed to say. You felt your cheeks darken again, and you returned the look with an eyebrow wiggle. That got the whole room laughing.

Looking at your friend’s faces, your only regret was not leaving the Oni sooner. Especially for her. “My flower,” you murmured under your breath, gaze lingering on the beautiful laughing girl.

Wojira's Ghost Season 5 Rewrite-ish

Plus the seasons before it, but whatevs-

So if you've been reading my Morrotober posts, you might remember my Day 6 prompt featuring my Wojira's Ghost AU. This is slightly inspired by someone's Storm Tether AU, which I can't find anymore.

Mostly follows canon until Season 5, but from Nya's perpective, of course with Ghost Morro being himself.

More Lloyd and Nya content, because while this is Wojira Duo centric, I love them too!

In season 3 and 4, Morro and Garmadon hang out, and it is revealed to Nya that they know each other and are quite close.

Morro acts... weird around Wu. Even the mention of the old man gets him into a mood.

This, of course, builds up tension between Morro and Nya.

At the end of Season 4, Morro and Nya get into a huge argument, and Morro leaves.

Now starting on Season 5's rewrite!

Wu and Misako (btw in this AU there's no romantic stuff between them, and the letter thing never happens) start up a tea shop together, having the Ninja help out with it when they can

Speaking of the Ninja, here's how they (and the Wojira Duo) are doing:

Kai is very happy Zane's back; he's quite clingy and protective of the titanium man. However, he also worries a lot about his younger siblings, who have been avoidant and down ever since Sensei Garmadon sacrificed himself.

Cole has been mostly hanging out with the other Main 4 and spending time with his dad. After Sensei Garmadon's sacrifice, he realizes how easy it is for his family to leave and has been more interactive with his loved ones since. He's worried about Lloyd and Nya, who have been distant.

Jay has been hanging out with Zane a bunch since he was found. He worries a lot about his girlfriend, who seems to be super upset about Sensei Garmadon's sacrifice, but Jay thinks there's something else going on. He tries his best to be there for Nya and Lloyd as they deal with what they're struggling through.

Zane has been happy, as he's with his family now and has Pixal back. He feels as if they are being a bit overprotective, though he doesn't really mind. He is concerned about Lloyd who is handling Sensei Garmadon's sacrifice rather badly. Nya is also upset about something she will not admit, so he will be patient with her nd be there when she needs him.

Lloyd has been burying himself in his Ninja duties, and when he's not on a mission or training he's in his room pouring over anything he can find about the Cursed Realm and realm travel. He mostly eats in the silence of his old room and often cries himself to sleep. He's noticed Nya's also sad about something, and sometimes they exist in the same room doing fheir own respective things in silent solidarity.

Nya spends most of her time avoiding people. The only person she's really around is Lloyd. She regrets her fight with Morro, and wishes she understood why he had an issue with Sensei Wu. She waits, hoping he might pop up and they can apologize.

Morro is no longer tied to Ninjago. By leaving Nya and abandoning his job of watching over her, he accidentally sent himself back to the Cursed Realm. He realized his mistake and regrets it immensely. The Preemminent recognizes that and preys on it, and essentially possesses Morro using his regret, lingering hatred of Lloyd getting the title of the Green Ninja, and left over, messy feelings about Wu (burnt out gifted kid-core).

So yeah, Lloyd, Morro, and Nya are not doing great...

But, Lloyd learns about something called the Realm Crystal, which can teleport you to any realm! He asks Wu about it, and Wu tells him that the Realm Crystal was in the FSM's tomb, but there was no message left behind to find it.

And, Nya discovered that she has the ability to control water! She asked Sensei Wu about it, and he confessed he didn't want to tell her, as she had already become Samurai X. They agree that her learning how to control her abilities does not have to change her being Samurai X, and she starts training.

Anyways, instead of Morro escaping, Wrayth escapes! He steals the Allied Armor of Azure, summons Bansha, Ghoultar, and Soul Archer, and show up at Wu and Misako's tea shop to steal Wu's staff. By some stroke of luck and a lot of teamwork, the ghosts get the staff and escape the Ninja.

Of course, the Ninja also had the symbols copied down, and they embark on their journey to get the Realm Crystal, both to stop Wrayth and co. and get Sensei Garmadon back (and Nya to get Morro back).

It bounces back and forth between the Ninja learning Airjitzu (CYCLONDO), getting the Sword of Sanctuary, and finding the tomb, and Garmadon and Morro in the Cursed Realm, with the last we see of them Morro becoming fully possessed by the Preeminent. Cole doesn't get turned into a ghost. Yet. Also all the stuff with Ronin happens.

The Ninja and the ghosts fight over the Realm Crystal in the tomb, and Lloyd gets taken hostage. Kai pulls the same trick he uses in canon Season 5, and Cole gets turned into a ghost by Wrayth's chain-blade-thing. The ghosts scamper off to Stiix and bring the Preeminent to Ninjago, with the grand reveal of...

Morro

Possessed, angry, violent Morro.

He's an almost complete contrast to the Morro that Nya knows, this one lashes out, yells a lot, and is very harsh. He is nothing like the soft-voiced, distantly caring ghost she grew up with. But, the weirdest part is how much he targeted Sensei.

Then, she looks over and sees Wu. Wu, who looks shocked, crestfallen, and remorseful. Wu, who knows Morro.

Wu hastily explains during the fight that Morro was his first student, which triggered a rage from Morro, who screamed about his past. The one thing he never told Nya.

The Ninja are all knocked down, save for Lloyd, who was tasked with getting the Realm Crystal and wasn't there. Wu is stuck in his head. Nya is the only one left. She talks with Morro. She apologizes. She apologizes again and again, relentless, as Morro seems to come to his senses.

Then, he screams, and a haunting, sickly sweet voice permeates the air from seemingly everywhere. It's the Preeminent. She tells Morro that Nya is lying, that no one cares for him, and that his destiny was stolen.

Nya is pissed off. She just wants her ghost friend back. So, she summons a big ass wave and drowns the tentacled horror, and Lloyd teleports back with his father in tow.

The Ninja ask how Nya knew Morro, and she explains that she grew up with Morro watching over her. Morro elaborates and tells them how Kai, as a kid, summoned and bound him to Nya. The Ninja also ask how Nya summoned that wave, because she and Wu never told them about her powers, and she tells them that she's the Elemental Master of Water, but is still Samurai X.

While the Ninja + Nya and Sensei Garmadon talk about that, Morro and Wu talk. Wu apologizes and tells Morro how he should never had made it seem like Morro needed to be the Green Ninja, and that he was already good enough just being himself. Wu also apologizes for not chasing after Morro, and that it was wrong of him as a teacher and father.

It ends with Morro meeting the Ninja and they all hang out as a big happy family

And that's how Season 5 goes in Wojira's Ghost! Let me know if you want me to elaborate on the other seasons in this AU, or character dynamics/relationships.

The ninja’s thoughts on Taylor Swift since I’m obsessed with TTPD plus I’m working on a whole post of the ninja’s favorite music artists and it’s becoming bigger than I thought and I need to split it up.

Kai - Kai is the only ninja who doesn’t like Taylor’s music. Now, he has no problem with her as a person, but he really doesn’t like any modern pop, and Taylor is no exception. However, since he’s the only ninja who feels that way, he will often give in and allow them to play it. The only song he might admit he doesn’t hate is Lover, as its somewhat similar to his more retro music taste. Therefor, his favorite album is Lover, although he tolerates Midnights as well.

Cole - Cole is fairly neutral on Taylor. Originally, he was completely neutral. He didn’t dislike her music like Kai does, but he didn’t like it either. However, he has to admit that he does enjoy Midnights and actually really like TTPD. Easily his favorite song is Fortnight, but the others on TTPD all are contenders. Kai really doesn’t like TTPD, though, mainly because its now 5-1, which is MUCH harder to win than 4-2. Favorite album, as mentioned, is easily THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. The chill beat plus devastating lyrics just vibe with him.

Zane - Zane enjoys Taylor. As you’ll read in his section, Zane’s music taste is oddly depressing, and he’ll casually listen to the most gut-wrenching music in the middle of the day like its nothing. So, albums like folklore, evermore, and TTPD fit perfectly into his tastes. Favorite songs are tolerate it, exile, The Archer, and, his all-time favorite, Clara Bow. As I said, not the kind of songs you’d like to listen to at 3 in the fucking afternoon, and yet there Zane is. Favorite album is probably either folklore or TTPD.

Jay - Jay is a semi-swiftie. He really likes Taylor Swift, but not as much as the person next. Jay is pretty much the opposite of Zane. Lyrics often go straight over Jay’s head, and he needs a fast-paced beat to keep his interest. In fact, he’s still upset that the vault tracks in 1989 (his 2nd favorite album) sound way more like Midnights/TTPD than the pop songs he likes. Favorite songs are Bejeweled, Gorgeous, New Romantics, Dancing with Our Hand Tied, Karma, and, his favorite, This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things. Favorite album is easily reputation. He’s OBSESSED with the crazy beats and upbeat lyrics.

Lloyd - Lloyd is a full-blown swifie. Like, collects all of the exclusive vinyls level swiftie. Like, knows every single lyric level swiftie. Like, knows every single thing about her and everyone she knows level swiftie. Jay introduced it to him when he was young and now Jay will openly admit he regrets that deeply. Lloyd might legit cry if you made him chose his favorite album and song, and he might not be able to. However, since I am an omniscient narrator, I can tell you what he doesn’t know. His favorite album is Lover, with 1989 and Speak Now in close second, although he’d never admit this to avoid seeming even more basic than he already does. His favorite song is Paper Rings, with I Can Do It With a Broken Heart in close second.

Nya - Nya likes Taylor about the same amount as Jay, but, unlike him, she’d rather DIE than admit that. She subtly sides with the others when it comes to if they are gonna listen to Taylor, saying things like ‘well, if everyone else wants to’ or ‘do you really want to deal with Lloyd without his emotional-support music?’ Her favorite album is Red simply because, as she told Lloyd, ‘the vibes are immaculate. As for her favorite song, it used to be a tie between All To Well and Holy Ground, although Florida!!! has now passed. Not only has it become her favorite because she just loves the sound, but she can now use the excuse of loving Florence + The Machine to explain why she wants to listen to it.
