This week, the positive Israeli news is full of the achievements of Israeli women.   They include the discoverer of a treatment for a common eye disease.  Three women who developed a test for newborns at risk of disabilities.  The Oct 7 survivor who is back on her feet thanks to Israeli technology.  Technion’s first female dean of aerospace engineering. The winner of the “Nobel Prize” for Electrical Engineering. I may have taken an extended holiday recently, but Israel's innovators and high achievers certainly haven't. The 50 positive articles in my latest newsletter are some of the best, but only a small portion of the great news stories from Israel that were published in the last month.  My apologies if you sent me articles recently - I will try to catch up and include them in a future newsletter.  Meanwhile, I hope that you enjoy reading this selection.

The worst part about my grandmother having Alzheimer’s isn’t just about the constant stress I have for her safety(although that sucks too), it’s the fact that she’s not the same person who raised me. She’s not the person who went to all my school events when I was younger. She’s not the person who used to braid my hair when my mom was away at work, or cook dinner most nights, or walk me to the school bus stop everyday. She’s someone completely different. I mean she doesn’t even know who I am half the time

It’s like missing someone who’s never coming back. I miss my grandma so much, and she’s living in the room right next door to mine.

Sorry for sounding so sad, but this is kinda hard on me rn. Especially since I already have the stress of finals and my SAT coming up, it’s all been very difficult

my mom said my grandma repeatedly told her and my aunt how much she hates them today. Happy Mother’s Day from an Alzheimer’s patient

For a woman who was a distant mother and a drug abuser my grandma has no chill

At least she and I get along but mostly because I can bear having the same story told 50 times and some insults about my own mom thrown around. It’ll be interesting to see the progression after not visiting her for quite a while
