Hey, can you write a story about Evan Buckley and Reader announcing that she’s pregnant to the 118 at like a family gathering :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
🍄 Pairing: Evan Buckley x Reader
🍄 Genre: Fluff
🍄 Summary: At a 118 family gathering, Buck's overprotective nature reveals a little more than the two of you had planned.
🍄 Word Count: 1618
🍄 Abbreviations: N/A
🍄 Warnings: Pregnancy, implied pregnancy complications
🍄 Note: I really liked this request Anon! I hope this is what you were looking for. I thought about this scenario and I instantly imagined Buck accidentally announcing the pregnancy rather than planned. If you would rather a planned version, just pop in another request. A similar request came from @quinnstan247. Enjoy :)

You could feel the eyes following you closely as you slipped into the kitchen to refill your glass of orange cordial. Your overprotective, puppy-dog boyfriend remained outside in the garden of the Nash household along with the rest of the team as they stood around Bobby and the BBQ grill. You knew that Buck was searching for any reason he could to follow you inside, but you met his gaze through the windows and offered him a reassuring smile that seemed to subdue him for the minute.
Since the second you found out, Buck had been glued to your side. It had been three weeks since you took that test, since your doctor had confirmed it and in that time you had, had to convince him every single day that he could leave you and go to work. Every day he fought you, wanting the both of you to stay home so you could rest and he could wait on your every want and need, but you couldn’t do that. You were only thirteen weeks along and there was hardly any reason to be confined to the bed just yet. You knew that he was only concerned about the safety of you and the peach you currently carried in your womb. It was endearing and one of the sweetest things you’d ever seen, you hadn’t thought that Buck could get any sweeter, but here you were one act away from having a mouth full of cavities.
What hadn’t helped was that Buck had been responding to a number of pregnancy calls in the past few weeks a few resulting in sadder endings than anyone wanted. They had definitely struck a chord with Buck and had only made him hover all the more.
Adding the water to your cordial, you took a sip of the orange, a light buzz filling your taste-buds. You had become obsessed with anything orange flavoured since your pregnancy diagnosis. Whether it was orange skittles (which Buck had kindly sat and sorted out for you), or orange flavoured chocolate, or even the orange flavoured cupcakes you had found at the grocery store and ate within an hour of buying, anything orange and you were all for it.
Walking back into the garden, your entire body seemed to clench a little as you stepped back into the gaze of the sun. As much as you were enjoying this down time with the 118, it was so hot. The heatwave had only hit LA in the past few days but already it was in full swing and you were feeling every beam of it.
“Y/n,” you turned over to where Athena was sat with Hen and her daughter May. The three of them were stood around the mini bar that Athena had installed, in direct sunlight. Already hot, you fought down the urge to grimace as you moved to stand by them, the sun glaring on your skin. “We were just telling May about Buck and that kiddie ride at the mall. She doesn’t believe us.” Hen informed and a grin split across your lips, taking your mind off of the sweltering heat.
“Oh my, God. I have a photo, hang on,” You pulled your phone out of your shoulder bag and set your drink on the bar, thumb flicking through the many photos in your gallery in search of the one from the Saturday before. “He thought it was funny and I tried to tell him he wouldn’t fit but he insisted,” You giggled and turned your phone for May to see. “I honestly thought I’d have to call nine-one-one.”
Displayed across your screen was the photo that still had you giggling a week later. There sat Buck, who had squeezed his way into the small metal bus which was obviously aimed for children 7 and under. But Buck had twisted his body at all kinds of angles and had somehow managed to worm his way into the ride. His head was poked out of the door hole, his legs curled up against his chest, unable to stretch out in the tiny space that his body was occupying.
What Athena and the others didn’t know was that Buck wouldn’t have gotten into the ride if it wasn’t for you. That morning your hormones had been playing you like a fiddle and every little thing had upset you, the bin bag had broken when you were trying to change it out for a new one, somehow a red sock had slipped in with your whites and now everything you owned was slightly toned pink and they had shown that advert with the puppy sat in a box, in the rain, on the side of the street with people walking past ignoring it. It seemed, that morning, that everything was stacked against you. Buck had offered to come with you to the mall so you could pick up your clothing order from a store, you had ordered certain items that they didn’t have in stock and they had delivered into the store the day before. You were buzzing to see the new pair of pumps you had ordered. You knew that in a few months if not weeks, the shoes would probably be pressing against the sides of your feet and ankles because of the pregnancy swelling, but that hadn’t stopped you from ordering them in your size. However, like everything else that morning, even that didn’t go as planned. The shoes had been delivered in the wrong colour and in a size smaller than you wanted, making them impossible to wear. Buck had seen how disheartened you had been when you left the store, trying not to cry in frustration. He had wanted to do something to cheer you up and in a joking manner he had made a bet with you that he could fit inside the kiddie bus ride.
It had definitely succeeded in cheering you up, if not from how silly he looked, his large muscular frame curled up inside the ride, from when he got stuck and couldn’t get himself out straight away. You had done what you could to help him out, but you were giggling so hard your entire body went weak. When he had finally gotten out, the two of you had continued to giggle all the way home and your mood had been lifted for the rest of the day.
“Oh, my God,” May giggled. “That’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. Please send me that!” she begged.
“Of course,” you agreed with a laugh of your own. “I could never gate keep on a photo like this.”
“What made him get in there?”
“It’s Buck, does he need a reason?” Hen scoffed. As the ladies continued to giggle, the heat seemed to make it’s presence known as it glared down onto you. The side of your temples was beginning to throb and your skin was starting to get slick and sticky, sweat oozing from your pores. You raised a hand to swipe at your brow, glancing around the garden for the closest seat, your legs aching.
As you moved towards one of the sun loungers, your boyfriend’s eyes caught onto your movements, already on high alert.
“Y/n? What’s wrong?” he asked, abandoning his drink at the grill and rushing towards you, one arm slipping around your waist to help guide you to the seat.
“Buck, I’m-”
“Dammit, it’s too hot out here for you. We should’ve cancelled,” he began muttering to himself. “Are you dizzy? Do you need a drink of water? What about something to eat? Is your blood sugar low? What if you’re dehydrated?” The only thing making you dizzy was the hurricane of questions Buck was sending your way, not even leaving a chance for you to answer them. One of his hands instinctively came to rest on the front of your stomach.
“Babe? Baby?” You tried to pull Buck out of his panicked rant, his eyes not once meeting yours as he kept scanning you for any visible injuries. Not that there were any, but the paranoia was getting the best of him and the heat probably wasn’t helping.
“We should get you in the shade,” he decided. “Shit, you should’ve stayed inside. You’re carrying precious cargo now, baby. You and peach can’t take this heat. We shouldn’t have come. This is all my fault-”
“Buck!” You pressed your hands to the sides of his face, directing his eyes to yours so you could try and ground him. “Buck, baby, I’m fine. We’re fine. I’m just a little hot and tired that’s all. It’s normal.” He still seemed a little uncertain, and his eyes held a lifetime of worry for you and his unborn child. “We’re okay. I promise.” You offered him a reassuring smile, your thumb coming to brush against his bottom lip rhythmically, giving him something to focus on. His eyelids pressed shut as he breathed slowly for a second.
“Are you sure? ‘Cause we can go home-”
“We’re fine. I just need to sit for a minute that’s all.” You peeked over his shoulder. “While I’m sitting, we should probably talk to the people behind you, they seem a little shocked. You kind of let the cat out of the bag.” Buck twisted his head to look around at the team behind him, everyone stood, jaws dropped and eyes wide. Eddie was the most comical of the bunch, his glass halfway raised to his mouth ready to take a sip but frozen in time with the news that Buck had unintentionally shared.
“H-Hey, guys,” He chuckled awkwardly with a sheepish grin. “I guess we have some news to share.”

Hello can you make Maddie and Buck's little sister who is a teenager has an accident or is injured and she calls 911 to find her sister who sends the firefighter and her brother and in a panic with Maddie on the phone who is panicking too
Tumblr media
ᕚ---ᕘ
With a choked gasp, you startled and looked around in a halting darkness that human eyes could never adjust to. Cold, rough chunks of concrete that painfully buried you underneath did not let in any light. Not the slightest ray could stray through it.
Orientation in the blackness was almost impossible and the disorientation made you seem even more helpless than you already were. "Hello? Can someone hear me?" Struggling to lend strength to your dusty voice, you tried to straighten your torso, but a searing pain tore through the upper left quadrant of your abdomen prevented you.
The air was damp, musty and cold. Fine particles of the collapsed concrete still trickled onto your tear-streaked face, while your lungs filled with a teaspoon of dust with every breath you took.
You did not know if you were alone when the parking deck collapsed on itself, but the thought that someone else might be trapped in her, or possibly even dead, frightened you. "Please, is someone here?"
The vibrating of your phone pulled you back from your thoughts. Totally forgetting you had it with you and surprised to find it had still a transmission to the outside world, you were grateful.
Silently and cautiously, you pulled out your phone with shaky, wet hands and clung to the piece of plastic, trying to shed some light on your situation. It was only through the brightness of the screen that you had realized, you were in more trouble than you thought you were.
The liquid on your hands was nothing more than dark red blood stretching across your fingers and was trickling down your wrist. Your leg was buried below the knee under a steel beam, which is why you had long lost feeling in it while a small iron rod protruded from your torso and penetrated your lower ribs.
"Crap," you moaned disconcertingly and laid your head back down on the concrete slab that allowed and supported to keep your upper body upright. The chunks of gray stone that had embedded your body, shifted cruelly under your movements, some small pieces trickling down on you from above.
Covering your eyes protectively, you could not feel if new small wounds adorned your skin and you did not dare to move any further to check which put your heart in a more obvious state of panic, but you hardly felt the beating in your chest. It slowed down.
With the last ounce of your strength steadily oozing out with the blood from your wounds, you dialed 911 hoping the network would hold up this conversation. After all, you were buried under debris that could interfere with the signal. "911, what is your emergency?"
"Maddie," you groaned wearily, instantly recognizing your eldest sibling through the cracking line. Her voice was dulled and partially interrupted, yet you felt a deep sense of relief to hear it. You were not alone anymore. "I-I need help"
The brunettes breath caught in her throat as your faint and barely audible voice entered her ears. It had come as quite a shock to Maddie, when she unsuspectingly had you on the helpline and found a chilling story about your well-being. "Y/n, where are you? Are you okay? What happened?"
"T-the parking garage at Cherokee Avenue collapsed," like a second hand, sweat formed on your forehead, although the warmth had long left. Dizziness caught up with you, but with a lot of luck and willpower, you managed to escape it and searched for a spot to focus on in the slightly lit environment. "I am buried under the rubble"
"Oh my god, a-are you hurt?"
"My leg is crushed. A metal rod is sticking out of my stomach, it hurts terribly. I am losing an awful lot of blood," Maddie had to listen helplessly to the spectacle that was taking place in disbelief and bewilderment. Absentmindedly, she fiddled with the keyboard and at the same time played with her private phone to call and inform your brother.
Meanwhile, the air was becoming increasingly scarce. Under no circumstances should you breathe in too deeply, using the precious oxygen sparingly. "I can not breathe," it came hoarsely from your lips as tears streamed unabashedly down your face.
A fit of coughing shook you and an iron taste kindled in your mouth. You could hardly breathe, the oxygen supply was running out and your lungs were heavier by the minutes. Just as quickly, the fear of endless, terrifying darkness and the cold that towered over you.
"I do not want to die, Maddie," you sobbed into the phone, the optimism of getting out of her alive dwindling. Walled under concrete and buried under dust, you knew no way out and fear filled you more with every passing minute. "You will not, sweetheart. Buck is on the way, you just have to hold on. Hold on and listen to me while we wait together for your brother, okay?"
The familiarity of Maddie´s voice allowed you to remain calm, at least on the surface, while your soul rampaged around the stable like a panicked horse. And so you had begun to wait for the approaching help with the fear of death and the agony that awaited you.

The sun was already beginning to set and the clouds hung gray in the sky as the team around Bobby Nash drove up to the scene. Upon arrival, the remains of various building material and destroyed vehicles were scattered on the crumbling ground.
Cold, dusty air blew in the faces of the team and the feeling that was churning in them as they saw the collapsed building, knowing you were under there, stretched bitterly through their chest. With heavy strides, Evan Buckley ran up to the top of the rubble, his phone clutched tightly to his ear, frantically calling your name while following his sisters panicked statements.
With his right leg, he swept away the small chunks and bits of metal. "Y/n!" his voice sounded rough and scratchy, he could no longer think clearly when uncertainty and sadness overcame him. "Where are you?"
Huffing and distraught, tears welled up in his eyes as he watched his teammates pull some stones from the pile. Evan rushed and jumped down, desperate to get through to you with all of his accumulated power. "Maddie, I can not hear her, is she still there?" with a jerk, he thoughtfully scratched the back of his head while biting his bottom lip hard and tasting the stale taste of blood.
He felt like complete destruction.
"Call is ongoing, but she is not responding to me anymore!" Maddie answered. Hard, he pounded his fist against the stones until his knuckles were severely sore and bleeding, only to repeat the procedure in frustration. Evan Buckley possessed a mental strength that was admired by everyone. But when it came to his little sister, he lost all of the stability and raged through life like a tornado. "Come on, move. We have to get her out of here"
As they spent hours trying to dig their way out to you, you vacillated between consciousness and unconsciousness. The phone meanwhile had slipped out of your hand and was inaccessible, nevertheless your sister was still panicking on the receiver, calling your name several times unsuccessfully.
You had no strength, empty air escaped your mouth instead of simple words.
From afar, you heard murmuring voices gathering around you. They talked frantically and at once a while some of them screamed and interrupted the conversations. Everyone seemed so far away, that you hardly could understood their words. "Y/n, where are you?"
"I am here, please" you whispered in a low voice that was probably barely audible. A violent chill went through you as the voices slowly approached and called out to you. The ground beneath you vibrated, bits and pieces of thick stone clamped above you, whose pillar was preventing it from coming down and crushing you, rained down dust before moments later a faint, dirty light flooded your place through a small crack.
"We found her!"

Surprise Visits
Tumblr media
Pairing: Eddie Diaz x reader
Word count: 2400
Warnings: seizure, epileptic reader, possible inaccuracies
Summary: Eddie shows up unexpectedly. Reader is glad he did for more than one reason.
A/N: This is only my second time writing for Eddie and last time it was a co-write. I did a whole bunch of research and had some proof reading from the lovely @thatonewriter15 and @muchamusedaboutnothing. Hopefully this is a somewhat accurate representation... 🤞🏻
Trudging up the stairs towards her apartment, she cursed the elevators for being broken. All she wanted to do was collapse into her bed and sleep for two days. Unfortunately, that was impossible since it was only Wednesday and she had an important meeting first thing in the morning.
Passing the third floor, she considered if she was going to eat before she went to bed. She was starving, but cooking seemed like too much effort and time. Then she considered having something delivered but guessed that would take even longer than cooking. She decided to just eat a spoonful of peanut butter so that she wasn’t battling hunger while trying to fall asleep.
Finally reaching the fifth floor, she exited the stairwell and took the four steps to her door. It was a small victory for climbing the stairs— at least she didn’t have further to go once she got to her floor.
She unlocked the door and pushed it open. Immediately, she dumped her purse, jacket, and laptop case on the floor beside the door before pulling her shoes off one at a time to drop in the pile.
Rounding the corner into the living room, she gasped. Her favorite scented candle was lit on the coffee table next to several containers of Chinese take-out. Eddie stood from the couch as she approached.
“What are you doing here?” she asked as she let herself fall into his embrace.
He pecked a kiss to her temple as he pulled back to look at her. “You sounded a little overwhelmed when you called earlier. So I had Buck take Christopher for the night, and I brought you dinner.”
Tears welled in her eyes as she was overcome with emotions. “I love you. You are the best. I was about to eat some peanut butter because I’m too exhausted to cook or wait for delivery.”
“And let me guess, you’ve barely eaten anything all day?” he chastised.
She shrugged. “I had a bagel for breakfast.”
He pulled her over to sit on the couch. “I’m glad I came then.”
“I’m really glad you did.” She grabbed a fortune cookie while he started to open the other containers. “Are you staying all night?”
He nodded. “I’m all yours. Buck is taking Christopher to the zoo tomorrow.” He dumped some rice on the plates he’d gotten out of the kitchen. “Chicken, beef, or shrimp?”
“Some of each, please.” She set the fortune cookie back down as she stood. ”I’m gonna go change out of these work clothes. I’ll be right back.”
Before Eddie could even finish dishing up the food, she returned in sweats and a shirt she’d stolen from him.
As she sat back down, she picked up and opened the fortune cookie. She pulled out the piece of paper. “‘Life will soon become interesting,’” she read. “I think it’s already plenty interesting.”
Eddie chuckled. “Yeah, where’s the one that says we get a vacation soon?”
He finished adding everything to their plates as she flipped on the television and started an episode of How I Met Your Mother.
They ate in a comfortable silence and had finished before the twenty-minute episode had ended. He set the mostly-empty plates on the table, and she shifted to curl in against his side while he wrapped his arm snugly around her shoulder.
As the credits rolled, he asked, “Bed or another episode?”
She yawned. “One more. I’m probably going to fall asleep, but I’m comfy.”
He pressed a kiss to her forehead as the TV rolled over into a new episode on its own. “As you wish, mi amor.”
She had just started to doze off when, suddenly, she was overcome with a familiar, distinct, full-body tingling sensation along with intense nausea. She quickly shifted to leaning forward on the edge of her seat. “Oh, no. No, no, no.”
Eddie reached out and placed a tentative hand between her shoulder blades. “What’s wrong?”
She stood and moved over to the empty dining room, which she kept devoid of a table and other furniture precisely for this reason. “Seizure,” she stated as calmly as she could before lying down in the middle of the floor.
“Oh, uh, okay.” Eddie was surprised, but quickly stood. He grabbed a blanket from the recliner and moved to sit beside her. He knew about her epilepsy and the medications she took for it. However, in the eighteen months they’d been dating, she’d never had a seizure. He lifted her head to slide the folded blanket underneath.
She let out a quiet whimper before her eyelids fluttered closed.
“Okay. You’re okay. I got you.” He pulled out his phone, opened the timer, and set it on the floor. He continued to whisper soft reassurances to her and started the timer as soon as she started to seize.
Despite his training and having treated patients with seizures at work, he couldn’t help but notice the way his hands shook as he carefully kept her rolled on her side. “You’re okay,” he repeated, more to reassure himself than anything. He continued to repeat it several more times as he waited for her to stop.
He felt his anxiety spike again as he watched the timer hit four minutes. He thought about what time it was, trying to figure out which shift was manning the 118 currently. He knew if she hit five minutes, he would have to call 9-1-1. As the timer rolled past four and a half minutes, her movements finally began to slow. He breathed a sigh of relief and pushed some hair out of her face as she stilled. Next, he used the corner of the blanket to wipe the saliva that had dribbled out.
For his own peace of mind, he checked her pulse, satisfied that it was steady and only slightly tachy. Next, he counted her breaths, ensuring her breathing was also back to normal. Then he sat there, running his fingers gently through her hair, and waited for her to wake.
Finally, after several minutes of anxiously waiting, she groaned.
“Hey, sweetheart. You with me?”
Slowly, she cracked her eyes open and looked around for several moments before finally landing on his face. She was clearly confused and still disoriented.
“You’re okay. You just had a seizure,” he explained. “Do you remember feeling it coming on?”
She thought for a minute before finally nodding. Groaning again, she rolled onto her back and threw an arm over her face. “Trash,” she slurred.
Eddie shifted away to grab the trash can sitting in the corner and move it beside her. “Do you want to sit up?”
“Not yet.” She lied there, trying to regain her bearings.
He took her hand in his and ran his thumb softly over her knuckles. “Anything I can do?”
“Mmmm, make the jackhammer in my head stop? And the nausea, too.” She rolled back onto her side before starting to push herself into a sitting position and pulling the trash can between her knees. “This blows.”
Leaning forward, he placed a chaste kiss on her temple. “I know. I’m sorry. Do you want something for the headache?”
“Not yet. I don’t want to puke it right back up.”
She didn’t know how long she sat there, taking slow, deep breaths in an attempt to clear the nausea. All the while, Eddie rubbed soothing circles across her back. The soreness was already starting to settle in all her muscles. Eventually, she pushed away the trash can and leaned into him.
“Ya know, this isn’t the kind of interesting I was hoping for. Stupid fortune cookie,” she grumbled.
“Me either. You think you’re ready to move?” he asked as he wrapped his arms around her gently.
“Yeah.” She nodded. He stood, and she reached a hand out for him. “Help me up?”
Instead of pulling her up, he bent down and slid one arm under her knees and the other around her back and easily lifted her. He walked slowly towards her bedroom, cautious of making the nausea worse, then set her gently on the bed. “What do you need?”
“Uh, I will take that Tylenol now. Plus, water and some Advil for in the morning, and the trash can by the bed,” she listed, then, with a pout, added, “Please?”
“Okay, I’ll be right back.”
She laid back into her pillows as she waited for him to return. Next thing she knew, she was peeling her eyes open to find Eddie beside her, rubbing a hand across her head.
“Here, take these and then you can go to sleep.” He handed her the pills and then opened a bottle of water before offering that as well.
Once she’d swallowed them, she took a few deep breaths to clear the flare of nausea. “Thank you.”
“Of course.” He pressed another kiss to her hairline.
“As much as seizures suck, it’s really nice having you here to help. I’ve just slept on the floor in there so many times because I just didn’t have the energy to move.”
“I’m glad I was here. I hate that you’ve had to go through that alone.”
“I hate that I have to go through it at all.” She sighed. “And I just broke my longest streak. At least I didn’t try to take a chunk out of my tongue.”
“Ouch.”
She nodded. “Yeah, one time, I had to get stitches from biting it so bad.”
He cringed. “That sounds awful.”
“Mmhmm,” she hummed, eyes fluttering closed. “Work is really going to suck tomorrow.”
“No, it won’t.” Eddie argued. ”You’re taking the rest of the week off.”
“I can’t!’ she declared, opening her eyes and leaning forward. “I have too many things to get done and a meeting first thing that we’ve been working toward for three weeks.”
“You just had a seizure,” he pointed out the obvious. “For the first time in, what, two years? And a long one at that. You were about twenty seconds away from a trip to the hospital. You don’t think your stress levels had something to do with this?” His tone was one of frustration, but she could tell he was just worried.
She sighed, knowing he was right. “Maybe.”
Eddie climbed into the other side of the bed and settled nearly in the middle. “So take the long weekend. Just relax and get some rest. Doctor’s orders.”
Shifting to curl into his side, she giggled. “You’re not a doctor.”
He huffed. “Medic’s orders. Is that better? Or I can call a doctor.”
“Don’t you dare.”
Rolling impossibly closer to her, he pressed one more kiss to her forehead. “Good night, mi amor.”
When she opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was her alarm clock. She was surprised to find it was nearly ten already. Slowly, she shifted onto her back and turned her head to look at the other side of the bed. She found Eddie sitting on the bed, scrolling through his phone.
“Good morning,” he greeted as he noticed she was awake. “How’re you feeling?”
“I’m okay. Just a bit sore. Which is pretty much what I expected.” She took Eddie’s hand in hers. “And maybe a little grateful that I got to sleep in and I don’t have to get up and go to work.”
He lifted her hand to kiss her knuckles. “You needed it.”
“Oh, shit!” she panicked. “I didn’t call. I missed the meeting. I’m gonna get fired!”
Eddie shushed her. “I called. Just breathe. It’s okay. I called earlier and talked to your boss. He knows you’ll be out today and tomorrow and told me to tell you to take Monday also, if you need to.”
She took a deep breath and let herself relax. “Okay. Thank you.”
“Of course. How about some breakfast?”
“Mmm. Yes, please.”
Eddie let go of her hand and got up off the bed. “Stay there. I’ll be right back.”
He disappeared out of the room, and she could hear him moving around her kitchen. A few minutes later, he returned with a plate and set it on the bed in front of her.
She looked up at him, surprised. “Since when do you make omelettes?”
“Uhh, well, never?” He laughed. “I may have called in reinforcements. Bobby dropped it off earlier. I just reheated it according to his very direct instructions.”
“Eddie! I could have just had some cereal or something. You didn’t need to make him drive over here so early on his day off.” She reached over to grab her phone off the nightstand.
“I figured you could use real food. I was going to order delivery, but Bobby offered.”
“Why would he have offered?” She opened Bobby’s contact to send him a thank you text. “Oh. You told him about last night.”
“I couldn’t fall asleep. Then they were all texting in the group thread. So when they asked why I was still up, I told them. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have without asking you first.”
“No, it’s fine. It’s not like my epilepsy is a secret. They’re your—our— friends. I’m sure I would have told them anyway.”
He nodded. “Okay. Eat and then you can go back to sleep for a bit. If you want.”
She cut a piece off the omelette and ate it. As she chewed, she spoke, “Bobby says we’re invited over there for dinner if I’m feeling up to it. I told him we would let them know a little later today.”
“Sounds like a good plan to me.”
She took another bite of her food. “Aren’t you going to eat?”
Shaking his head, he explained, “I ate earlier.”
“Oh, right.” She glanced at the clock. “I forgot it was so late already.”
“Anything else I can get for you?”
She contemplated for a moment. “Umm, maybe a glass of apple juice?”
He disappeared from the room with a simple nod.
Soon after he returned, she finished her omelette and he took the plate into the kitchen.
“Did you want to go back to sleep?” he asked.
“How about a shower and then a movie on the couch?” she countered, throwing off the blankets she was still tucked under. As she stood, dizziness flared, causing her to sway slightly before sitting back down.
Eddie was in front of her instantly, steadying her. “How about a bath instead?”
“Sounds perfect.”

6. "I didn't think you'd find out." <3
Buck walked behind Eddie like a kid in trouble; with his hands behind his back and his head low. He glanced at the man ocasionally, waiting for him to say something first.
Eddie leaned against the counter, ignoring the comical realization of how often they fought in kitchens. "Imma need you to explain a little bit," he said, closing his eyes and squeezing the bridge of his nose with the tips of his fingers.
Buck could practically see the headache forming around Eddie's head, so he made it a purpose to be concise. “It’s not what you think.”
“It isn’t?” Eddie asked, turning his body towards Buck. “You didn’t buy lingerie for your girlfriend with my credit card?”
Buck opened and closed his mouth, unsure how to proceed. Yes, but also no. “Eddie, it’s not-”
“You know, it’s bad enough you were using my card,” he mumbled, dropping the arms that had been crossed over his chest and staring at him in the eyes. “But to buy presents for this… girl you’re seeing?”
Buck bit his bottom lip, analyzing every word in the English dictionary in search of a way to say what he wanted to say properly. He must’ve been quiet for too long.
“That’s so cheap.”
Eddie’s words were echoed with laughter that swayed between dramatic and disapproving, and Buck’s chest started feeling oh, too tight, for all these demons inside.
“It wasn’t-”
“There’s no denying it, Buck. I saw the receipt,” he said, looking at the outer corners of Buck’s eyes, so as to avoid his gaze. How wasn’t he embarrassed? “It was sent to my email.”
“Eddie, they’re for me!”
Buck’s voice resonated throughout the kitchen; it bounced from the cabinet to the fridge, then to the ceiling, landing back on the ground next to them.
By the time Eddie realized his jaw was on the floor, a tiny speck of drool was already formed in the corner of his mouth. He swallowed it, blinking up in shock. “For… you?”
Buck’s neck turned pink. He shifted where he stood, scratching the back of his head. It’s not like he had kept his own secret very safe. “Yes,” he admitted, “I’m the one who wears it.”
The addition was unnecessary, but there was a blinding feeling of shame running through his veins that was rendering him insane.
“With your-”
Buck shook his head violently, putting his hands up this time. He couldn’t take it anymore. “There’s no girlfriend, there’s no- not any woman. There’s no one, really.”
Eddie frowned. He tried to decided whether to lean forward or push himself off the counter, but ended up doing a weird mixture of both. He licked his lips, processing information that seemed way too relevant to hide under the rug. “You- you wear… panties?”
“Oh, god,” Buck mumbled, covering his face with his hands. This had to be the worse way he could’ve chosen to reveal a kink.
“Why would you buy them with my card, though?”
Buck uncovered his face slowly, letting himself see through the gaps of his fingers. He frowned. Eddie didn’t even seem preoccupied, he mostly looked confused. “I didn’t think you’d find out.”
The confession stung him somewhere in his body, like a phantom itch. It felt awfully familiar to digging himself a deeper grave.
He could’ve lied and said he had confused the cards - it was plausible enough now that they lived together -, but he didn’t feel like deceiving him. Go big or go home, he guessed, so he added “I can’t come without them.”
This time, Eddie's entire face changed. Buck could have sworn he saw a thunder strike his features with the strongest of wills. He felt himself turn small under his stare.
"Buck," Eddie called, this time supporting himself on his own two feet instead of the wood. "Are you being- are you serious?"
Not that he could change anything now. "Deadly," he whispered, as if he were cracking his heart open right here on the marble floor.
A few seconds passed. Buck started wondering which kind of apology he’d need to get out of this, but then Eddie’s voice drew him out from the pit. “Put them on,” he said, hoarse, and dark, and serious.
“I-,” Buck tried. He couldn’t possibly- “What?”
“Go put them on,” Eddie repeated, taking a step closer to Buck, making him infinitesimal. “Go put them on and I’ll make you come.”

"I can't believe you actually talked us into this." Eddie said with a sigh and shake of his head.
"Come on it'll be fun." Buck said cheerfully as he pulled flashlights out of his backpack and began passing them out.
"I don't know if I would classify walking around an old abandoned hospital as fun." Hen said as she leaned against the car.
"You all said you weren't really feeling the holiday spirit right? This'll help."
"Yeah, it'll help me have nightmares." You mumbled from beside Eddie, who smiled down at you in amusement.
You looked around the area, eyeing the tall trees scattered around. You had driven nearly thirty minutes out of the city to get here, and the sun was setting quicker than you liked.
"And you're certain we're not trespassing Buck?" Athena said with a pointed look at him.
You were surprised she even showed up, but you had an underlying feeling it was because she was worried something bad might happen.
He nodded his head "A friend owns the property, trust me, he said it was fine we were here tonight."
"Maybe Buck's right, we all need a little holiday spirit." Bobby spoke.
He was the obvious skeptic, but man, did that man love a team bonding exercise.
"Don't people usually say that about Christmas?" Chimney asked
Buck handed him a flashlight "You need Halloween spirit too. Okay, come on."
Turning on the flashlight Buck gave you as you all headed into the large building, you looped your arm through Eddie's.
Looking around the lobby of the building, it gave off an eerie feeling. Old chairs littered the room, some toppled over, some broken. It was cold, and dark, and every footstep echoed down the nearby hall.
"Creepy." You muttered as a chill ran down your spine.
As you walked past the lobby and into the old emergency room, you eyed an old hospital bed, sheet's still present, but covered in a dark rusty stain.
"Why did this place shut down again?" You asked softly, feeling goosebumps cover your arms.
"And when? This place looks ancient." Hen added on.
"It was shut down in the 50's due to a bunch of patients dying in odd circumstances. Also a lot of patients went missing."
"Excuse me?" Athena asked with raised interest "There better me more to that story."
"Oh yeah. Three doctors ended up confessing to murdering a bunch of patients. They did experiments on them and everything."
"What the-"
Hen's sentence was cut off as a loud bang sounded from the floor above you. You flinched, gripping your flashlight tightly in one hand, and Eddie's arm in the other.
"Okay guys, be careful, there could be squatters here." Bobby said, voice filled with concern.
"Or ghosts." Buck added.
"Don't worry, I've got my taser on me." Athena said
"How would that help with ghosts?" Buck looked over at her.
She rose her brow at him, and he shrugged "Seriously?"
"What?"
"It may not help with ghosts, but it'll sure as hell, help with some real madman who might attack us." She said with a tone that already said she was done with Buck.
"Oh, yeah. Right."
You scoffed in amusement, as you looked around. As your eyes cast over a nearby room, you jumped as you thought you saw something dart away from the door.
"What?" Eddie asked, causing the others to look over.
"I thought I saw something in there." You pointed your flashlight into the door, while speaking softly.
Athena walked over, quickly pushing open and the door and peaking in.
She looked at you and shook her head "Nothing."
"Or something." Evan said.
Yours and Athena's head snapped towards him as she shrugged "What? Could be!"
"You okay?" Eddie whispered to you.
You nodded as you tore our eyes away from the empty room, your heart pounding. "Yeah, it was probably just my shadow."
Eddie could hear the doubt in your tone, he squeezed your arm lightly as you continued to walk through the hospital.
Your whole group came to a sudden halt when you heard the clear sound of conversation coming from down the hall. As you stopped and listened the voices ceased.
"Those were definitely voices."
"Are you sure there aren't homeless people here?" Chimney asked as he and Hen clung to one another.
"My friend said they never get people in here anymore. It's too scary for even homeless people to stay in."
"That's comforting" You muttered.
Creeping closer, you approached the cafeteria, the room the voices came from.
As Buck peaked in, he looked back at you, clearly shaken. Pushing open the door, he spoke "There's no one in here."
As you all entered into the room, you looked around. A few tables and chairs remained, some papers and trash scattered on the floor.
"This is definitley where the voices were coming from." Bobby said, and you noted the uneasiness of his tone.
"Is anyone here with us?" Buck asked aloud.
"What are you doing?!" Hen asked with bewilderment.
Buck looked over at her and raised his arms "What? I'm communicating."
"Could you not?" Chimney said in a monotone voice.
"It's why we're here dude."
"You said we were gonna check out a creepy hospital, not go ghost hunting Buck." Eddie said.
Hearing shuffling footsteps coming from the hall, you all turned with surprise. Your breath hitched in your throat as you and Eddie stepped back, further away from the doors.
Athena stepped forward, shining her light through the window.
The footsteps got louder and louder before they stopped just outside the cafeteria doors. As Bobby and Athena pushed the doors open and looked down the hall they stared with clearly shocked faces.
"There's no one, right?" Buck asked, a small amount of smugness in his tone.
Athena and Bobby looked in at you all and you could tell from their faces, that Buck was right.
"I hate this." You said sotly.
Eddie nodded "Me too." He leaned down a bit "But I got you, okay?"
You nodded softly as he pressed a soft kiss to your temple.
"Okay, let's go." Buck said as he headed towards the hall.
"Where are you going now?" Eddie asked with obvious exasperation.
"Upstairs?"
You all sang out a chorus of no's, and no way's, and Buck pouted. "Come on guys! We came all the way out here."
Chimney sighed and shook his head "Fine, I'll go, but just because I know if no one does, you'll go by yourself."
"Yeah, okay, you two go have fun, we'll stay down here." Hen said with a determined voice.
"I'll go too, who knows what trouble you two might get into up there." Bobby said as he followed Chimney and Buck towards the staircase.
"Yeah, I'm staying right here." Hen said as she sat down at one of the tables.
You let out a along breath as you looked around the dark and creepy cafeteria.
"Come on." Eddie said as he lead you to sit down as well.
"What could lead doctors to do such horrible things to their patients?" You asked after a few moments of eerie silence.
Hen shook her head "Evil people who think they can become Gods."
Hearing a thud from the furthest side of the cafeteria, you all flinched, shining your lights around. Seeing nothing, you all let out breaths. You weren't sure if it was better to see something, or nothing, neither option was great.
You held onto Eddie's arm a little bit tighter as your eyes darted around the room.
After nearly twenty minutes, and too many unexplained noises, you all began to grow antsy.
"Alright, I'm gong to go get them, it's been too damn long." Athena said as she stood.
You all stood as well, knowing it was best you all went together. As you walked out into the hallway, you stopped and listening, hearing nothing.
"Its way too quiet in here." Hen mumbled.
As you all walked towards the staircase, your hand was tight in Eddie's. You felt your chest clenched tightly as your heart refused to slow down.
"AHHH"
You all yelled out in fear and surprise as Buck and Chimney jumped down from the staircase yelling.
After a chorus of insults and yelling, Buck and Chimney chuckled and rose up their hands "Sorry, sorry, couldn't help it."
Bobby came down from behind them, shaking his head, but clearly repressing a laugh. Athena have him a pointed look and he raised his hands up and shrugged.
"You guys wont believe what happened up there." Buck began.
"Oh my God, honestly it was so creepy."
"And I got it all on camera! Voices, banging, a door opened by itself. Even Bobby couldn't explain any of it."
You all looked at Bobby who shrugged "I honestly can't."
"That's great, I'm so happy for you, you had an experience. Can we leave now?" Hen said, with clear frustration.
"Aw come on, just a little longer" Buck asked.
As you all opened your mouths to protest, you all froze, hearing a loud squeaking coming from further down the hall. As all your heads turned, you looked down the darkened hallway, as the squeaking got louder.
From an open doorway, you all watched with bated breaths as an empty wheelchair rolled out into the hallway, turning to face you all, before stopping. All your mouths were agape, as your hearts were beating heavy and fast.
"Aw, hell no." Athena muttered. "What the fu-" Chimney began. "Nope." You said as you tugged Eddies arm.
Getting exactly what you wanted, he began backing away. Patting Buck on the arm, he nodded "Sorry Buck, you can stay if you want, but we're leaving."
"I second that."
"Yeah, screw this."
Buck watched as all of you began quickly rushing to leave before he glanced at the wheelchair one more time, before turning to follow all of you, yelling out "That was awesome!"

This Grandpa Bobby is unrelated to ‘Step by Step’ but thanks to a video I couldn’t get the thought out of my head, ft GiGi Athena and the fire fam kids
-for the sake of the story everyone just goes with the fact that they’re family, the kids are cousins no questions asked
-all the boys go to the same school (this may come into play later for a different story)
———————————————————————————-
Pumpkin Pancakes and Grandparent Sleepovers:
Bobby cracked open the door to Harry’s room noticing that all three of the older boys were sprawled out: Denny being half on the air mattress, half off and Harry’s hand somehow draped across Christopher’s face. He chuckled to himself before pulling the door closed, he had heard the tv still going around two am. Bobby doesn’t expect to see them for at least another hour.
He continued down the hall to what had been May’s room. Opening the door he was greeted with a smile out of the crib that sat in the corner, “good morning Jee, how my girl?”
“Pa,” her little voice whispered as she reached her arms up towards him.
After a quick change, Bobby moved into the kitchen. It was Saturday morning and he and Athena were on kid duty all weekend.
“What you thinking for breakfast, huh kid?”
The only response he got was the one year old snuggling deeper into his chest. Apparently this morning he was cooking one handed.
Kissing the top of her head, he pulled out ingredients for his pumpkin pancakes. It would pair with the fall morning outside and bonus points that it was Athena’s favorite.
He was caught up in the moment and swaying softly to the music coming from the record player in the corner, his arms still full of Jee, he missed Athena leaned against the counter.
He startled slightly when he turned around to see her there, “good morning darling,”
He walked around to give her a kiss before dropping the egg shells in the trash can.
“Want me to take her?”
“Nah, I’ve got it.” The sergeant smiled knowing how much her captain loved his kids.
“The boys are still sleeping, but I would expect them up once the bacon finishes cooking.” He said as he turned back towards the stove. Christopher Diaz could smell bacon from a mile away.
Athena enjoyed the view for a few more minutes before she got up to join her husband in moving around the kitchen. She poured a cup of coffee before moving to place it on the table, then returning for plates.
She smiled to herself as she heard the bedroom door open and looked up to meet the eyes of three very tired looking pre teen boys.
“Good morning my boys.”
She was met with grumbled responses as they fell into their chairs at the kitchen table.
She returned to her husbands side this time reaching for the toddler without asking. He willingly gave her up, and stretched his arms as he flipped the final pancake. He may feel it tomorrow but he would never tire of the snuggles.
He placed the pancakes, bacon, and fruit on the table and smiled as all three boys immediately perked up, “boys can you grab cups and the juice out of the fridge please?”
“I got the juice grandpa,” Denny said as he got up from the table
“I’ll get the cups,” Harry said before following his cousin.
Christopher followed before adding Jee’s sippy cup to her high chair positioned beside Athena.
“Captain did you make these pancakes just for me?” Athena asked as they passed the plates around the table.
“It may have been a determining factor,” he smiled a knowing smile in her direction
“Thanks for the bacon grandpa” Christopher added with his mouth full.
“What kind of grandpa would be if I didn’t know my kids favorite breakfast foods?” He smirked at them as he watched Denny dig into the fruit bowl in search of the kiwi Bobby had sliced up last night, and Harry with his own mouth full pancake because he was his momma son.
“So what’s on the agenda today kids?” Athena asked as she sipped her coffee
The boys all locked eyes with wide grins on their faces, “can we go to the zoo?” Harry asked for the group before Chris cut in
“They have new sea lions!”
Of course Denny followed in their rehearsed plea, “we’ve been learning about them in school Gigi!” Adding a little flair trying to rope in Athena.
The adults locked eyes before Bobby turned to Jee-Yun, “what do you think Jee?”
“Pa, zoo!” She smiled back as she smashed the blueberries Athena had put on her tray.
He locked eyes with his wife before returning his gaze to the boys, “Finish your breakfast and go get dressed.”
There was small chirps of excitement from the group before the boys started spouting animal facts at each other, no doubt most of which had come from Buck.
Bobby smiled again to himself as he bit into his own pancakes. How did he get so lucky?

Your last few years of high school were a miserable time in your life. Aside from the exams that you were just barely passing, the talk amongst your classmates about what they wanted to do after they graduated was a popular topic of discussion and it was one you could never participate in because you had absolutely no clue what you wanted to do. You spent your early 20's working part-time and studying a course you didn't even care to remember the name of but thankfully, it was because of that campus...or rather the fire that brought it down, that got you to where you are today.
In front of a firehouse.
You struggled a lot in becoming a firefighter...more than the others you were training with. You didn't think you'd make it this far, let alone still be this interested in the job but here you were and you couldn't be more proud of yourself.
"Hey, you two must be the probies." A voice spoke up and you turned to see a guy walking towards you and the girl who stood beside you.
Her name is Josie Campbell. She was one of the girls you had trained alongside in the academy. You two never got the chance to speak to each other but you heard a lot about her and how she practically had a one-up on everyone because her father was a Chief of a firehouse. This firehouse.
"Yes, that's us!" Josie spoke up. "We're supposed to be meeting with Captain Nash."
"Right, come along. He's just up there." The man nodded, turning and walking towards some stairs. Josie immediately began following the guy and so you did the same, picking at the skin around your nails anxiously.
As excited as you were to be starting a new chapter in your life, you didn't really enjoy the part where you'd have to interact with new people. People who'd be judging your every decision until the probationary period was over...if you even make it that far that is.
"Hey Cap', got some fresh meat here for ya'." You almost cringed at the introduction but you did your best to hide it and instead, you focused on the man that stood up from his seat with a warm smile.
"Welcome to the 118, I'm Captain Nash."
5 months later...
You huffed in annoyance, packing up the truck after a false alarm call had claimed that a child was stuck in a tree. The 'child' was a lady's cat and that same lady was being put into the back of a police car for wasting the 118's time and resources.
"You can't be mad at the lady, Mouse." Buck laughed, coming up beside you and packing his gear. Mouse was the nickname the firehouse gave you because you were so shy and quiet when you first started, they could barely get a word out of you unless you felt it was necessary to talk.
"I'm not mad at her." You muttered.
Buck paused, contemplating for a moment before he made a noise of realisation. "Is this about Josie?" Your lack of response only confirmed his beliefs. "I'm sure she didn't mean it like that."
You felt a rage burning up inside of you at his words. "Of course, you don't Buck, you're not the one being called incompetent."
You walked away from him, refusing to participate in the conversation any longer. Buck made you feel like you were crazy. You're sure the entirety of the 118 would make you feel the same way if you had confided in them the same way you did with Buck.
You and Buck's friendship was by far the most unusual of the 118. He was loud, obnoxious and extroverted and you were not. He approached you first which was quite a surprise considering you had made no move to befriend any of the firefighters. At first, it was just him making random comments and you simply nodding at them but slowly, you began to respond to them and those short responses eventually turned into long and meaningful conversations.
You would've considered Buck as an older brother if it wasn't for your stupid crush on him. You hated yourself for it sometimes. You really liked your friendship with him and you didn't want your feelings to ruin it. Thankfully, it was times like this that made you not want to be with the guy.
Josie was a problem for you. You tried so hard to like her but something about her put you off and you couldn't put your finger on it until recently.
You knew Josie wanted Buck. She wasn't very quiet about it and you think that her feelings for him were what made her treat you the way that she does.
She makes snide remarks and hurtful comments but Josie is smart. She does it in a way that only you'd be able to understand whereas everyone else would let it fly over their head.
You hated her. Not only for her comments, that was a small part of it. You hated her for making you look dumb and crazy. And as you jumped into the truck, trying to ignore her conversation with Buck, you couldn't help but fight back tears of frustration because with the probationary period coming to an end, her comments to you were getting worse.
She was trying to throw you off your game. She wanted you out of the 118 but she wanted to do so while remaining innocent in the eyes of the other firefighters.
"Mouse...hey Mouse? We're back." You looked up at Hen who was tapping your knee and smiled at her before climbing out of the truck.
Bobby was already on his way up the stairs, calling for all the firefighters to follow him up for dinner. By the time you made it up there, everyone had already found their place and there was just one spare seat beside Chim. You were right in front of Josie who was sitting between Buck and Eddie.
"Looks good as always Cap'." Eddie complimented, putting himself a plate of lasagna.
Hen took a bite and almost moaned at the taste of the food. "I'm so glad that wasn't a long call."
"I know, right? We didn't have to put in any effort, it was good for you, huh Mouse?" Josie added, smiling at you. You looked up at her in confusion.
"What does that even mean, Mouse didn't do anything?" Chim questioned. He was right. Buck had gone up to save the cat while the rest of you stood aside and watched.
"Well, I mean, the call didn't require a lot of brain power. That wouldn't have gone over well." Again, Josie made no sense to anyone and she could see it because of the confused looks being exchanged.
"I don't understand what that’s supposed to mean." You muttered, only for Josie to sigh in annoyance.
She mindlessly cut herself a piece of lasagna before looking up at you. "You're autistic, right? And you have ADHD? Plus other things too. I feel like you've been struggling recently in our calls. Like, I don't know, how do you even focus? Isn't it too hard trying to work with all of those things distracting you? I just don't want you to make a mistake and risk us or even you getting hurt."
You felt like throwing up. Everyone had stopped their eating and were looking between you and Josie.
No one knew those things about you. You had always kept that to yourself and it was because of this very reason. You didn't want it to be held against you. You didn't want to be blamed for things going wrong. You've always been insecure, ever since you got diagnosed.
"How do you know that?" Your voice came out in a whisper and you were surprised that anyone even heard you.
"It's in your records." Josie shrugged and your eyes widened.
"Those are classified." Buck chimed in. "Aren't they, Cap'?"
"They are." Bobby nodded, eyeing Josie in an almost judgemental way. "How did you access them?"
Josie rolled her eyes. "Come on guys, my dad is the Chief of this firehouse." As soon as the words left her mouth, her eyes widened. "Wait, n-not like that. I just happened to see it by accident when I was in his office."
"Why would he have Mouse's files out?" Eddie questioned, leaning back in his seat and crossing his arms over his chest.
You felt like crying. You were humiliated. Every time one of them looked at you, you felt like they were judging you. It was getting hard to breathe and you wanted to cry. You couldn't handle the conversation anymore so you simply got up and left.
You took leave from work as soon as you got home. Thankfully, it was approved and the entirety of the two weeks you weren't at work, your phone was blowing up with calls and texts from Buck, Eddie, Chim, Hen and even Bobby which you were surprised about but you couldn't bring yourself to look at them.
You thought they were going to be judging you. Telling you that you shouldn't have put them at risk by keeping your diagnosis to yourself. You thought you were going to cop it the worst from Bobby, with him being Captain and all. He has the right to know these things about his team and because you kept it from him, you thought he was going to be mad at you.
But a knock on your door proved you wrong.
You were surprised to see Buck there and even more surprised to see him sigh in relief at the sight of you. He was in uniform so either he was coming back from work or heading to work.
"I thought you died." He huffed, running a hand down his face. "Why didn't you answer our texts? Are you okay?"
You shrugged, feeling a tightness in your chest at the sight of the firefighter. You appreciated that he cared enough to show up at your door, even if you didn't want anyone to see you like this.
"What do you think, Buck?" You sighed, moving out of the way to let him in. "I'm sorry."
Buck shook his head as he followed you to your living room. "Don't be. I-I don't know how you're feeling but...but I wouldn't be okay either. Look, I just wanted you to know that Cap' isn't mad. No one is. If anything, we're mad at Josie. She's actually...well, Cap' has been arguing with the Chief."
Your eyes widened at that last bit of information. "About what?"
"Well, for one, Josie abused her power. Like, yeah her dad's the Chief but that doesn't mean she's allowed to have access to what he does. Cap' wants Josie transferred...or like, fired. He doesn't think she should be allowed to work when she uses people's personal things against them." Buck explained.
"Oh." You nodded, glad that something was being done. For some reason, you didn't expect anything to be done about it. You thought that because of her being the Chief's daughter, they would all let it slide for fear of getting in trouble.
"Um..." Buck started and you gave him a look, telling him to continue. "Why didn't you uh...tell me? Like, I get it, I know why you'd want to keep it to yourself...but...did you think I'd judge you? Because if so, I just want you to know that I would never do that. I get that people have their own personal issues and you're a great firefighter, you've never shown any signs of being bad at your job and clearly your...you know...like, the autism and stuff...it-it hasn't caused any problems for you or us."
"I know Buck. I know you won't judge me. " You confirmed, watching his shoulders drop as if you had taken the weight off of them. "I just thought everyone else would...plus I didn't think it was important, ya' know? If it wasn't causing any problems then I just didn't feel the need to bring it up."
Buck nodded, softly putting a hand on your shoulder. "You should come back, Mouse. It's not the same without you. We all want you back. I want you back."
At this, you blushed and looked down, trying to hide your shy smile. Buck laughed, reaching for your hand and holding it softly in his.
You didn't know what to say so you said the only thing that you could come up with. "Shut up."
This only made Buck laugh again. "So you'll come back? Please say you will! I'll do anything! I'll uh, get you ice cream? Take you to dinner? Buy you that book you keep talking about?"
You looked up at him, eyes widening slightly. "Take me to dinner? Like...a date?"
Buck smiled, "If you'd like to..."
"I'd love to." You nodded, giggling as Buck jumped up.
"Good, now put your uniform on! Bobby said you can start now if I could convince you to come!" Buck mentioned in excitement. "I'll wait here and I'll drive us there!"
You rolled your eyes but stood up. "Fine...but only 'cause I miss everyone.
"You missed me the most though, right?" Buck questioned and you rolled your eyes before walking towards your bedroom. "Right?"
You closed your bedroom door behind you and giggled to yourself. You hated that you let Josie get to you but you know the 118 has your back and after this, you know you'll never have to doubt it again.

Life Without You

A/N: I hope everyone enjoys this it was requested by the lovely @hdxhe
If you like my work please comment like and reblog it means a lot to see interactions on my work
Never in a million did you think your life was going to end up the way that it did. Life at home was rough
. When you told your parents you wanted to join the army with your best friend Eddie they basically disowned you for reasons you will never understand.
You thought they would have been proud of you. But they weren’t those kind of people at all.
All you had was Eddie at this point and it was hard because he had a family of his own to worry about.
After the army you decided to move on from Texas and start a brand new life. Maybe a clean state and be able to live life on your own terms. You joined the fire academy and became a paramedic. You loved being able to work with the public and give back to people.
After the academy you joined 118.
Everyone there was so nice and kind and you actually started at the same time as Buck. The two of you hit it off right away and you guys were instantly best friends.
Though you always had a crush on him and thought he was cute. But he had a girlfriend Taylor.
You never liked her and it wasn’t because you were jealous. It was because she seemed to only care about herself. She wanted to advance her career no matter who it hurt.
You tried to tell Buck about it but he only defended her. Which wasn’t surprising because they were dating. You just didn’t want him to get hurt.
After a year of being at the 118 you were surprised when Eddie joined. You had no idea that him and Chis were even moving to LA.
Eddie told you that he never planned on it but he had to get out of Texas fast. He then told you how he came to LA because he knew you were here.
When Eddie Joined the 118 everyone was surprised that he knew you. After Eddie joined it felt like the missing piece was finally here. You loved hanging out with Chris again, he had grown so big from the last time you seen him.
Buck and Eddie and even Chris hit it off together. You all kind of formed your own friend group together.
Anytime you guys weren’t at work you were always with each other. Mostly hanging out at Eddie’s apartment.
You were really good with Chris becoming like a second mom to him. Always taking him to school and helping him with his homework.
It didn’t go unnoticed though. Buck was always watching and he admired you for it. It brought out some weird feelings for him.
Like when ever he saw you Chris he would see this future and this life with you. You him and a bunch of kids running around the house.
He always felt bad about it. Thinking of another women like that when he had a girlfriend.
He couldn’t help it though he never had these feelings for Taylor but when it came to you it was different. He wanted this whole life with you he never thought was possible.
It caused some problems in his relationship with Taylor though. He felt himself becoming more distant and puling away. Everyone at work even noticed it to. Buck wasn’t being his normal self anymore.
Like for instance you all were at work now doing inventory. Buck was just looking at his clipboard and staring  into space.
You wanted to see him smile again. So you ran over to him and hugged him from behind.
Buck jumped in the air and you leaned over at him and whispered
“I thought we were over you touching a clipboard again” You said laughing,
You grabbed the clipboard and ran down the stairs with Buck chasing after you and laughing. Suddenly the bells go off and you throw the clipboard down and run to the truck.
Everyone gathered in and immediately took off. Buck was smiling in the back of the truck and everyone took notice.
“Hey Buck what got you smiling so hard” Hen said
“Oh me nothing I guess i’m just having a good day” Buck said
“Mhmm sure “ Bobby said making everyone laugh.
A few minutes later you all arrived at the scene. It was a pretty big fire and it got your heart racing from a combination of adrenaline and being scared.
“Okaye everyone be careful in there and team up to a person watch each other’s back in there” Bobby said
“Got it Cap” Everyone yelled.
You were paired with Buck and you both took off inside. You began clearing the hallways and rooms.  You heard noise coming out of one room and went in to double check.
“LAFD call out now” You said.
You went further into the room and saw a pregnant women laying on the ground. Your heart broke into a million pieces for her. Your instincts took over and you called out for help.
“May day May day I need help room 200 on the east side” You called into radio.
You took off your mask and placed it on her to help with her breathing. It seemed like back up took a while because the smoke filled your lungs.
You had trouble breathing and then suddenly everything went black.
You weren’t sure how long you were out or what happened. You started coming to and all you saw was a white light and for a moment you thought you were dead.
“Am In in heaven” You asked not wanting to open your eyes to find out.
“Your going to wish you were what the hell is wrong with you” Bobby asked
“What do you mean Cap” you asked
You opened your eyes to look at him and he was giving you that worried father look.
“You risked your life in their we almost lost you” Cap said
“she is a pregnant mother what on earth would of you of done different leave her in there then two people would of lost their life, they have everything to lose don’t start acting like I have anything to lose we both know my life” You said trying to justify what happened.
Little did you know Buck and the rest of the team were outside waiting for you. Buck couldn’t handle the wait to he snuck back to see you. Him hearing that broke your heart so bad.
Buck’s heart broke into a million pieces. Hearing you say that hurt because he couldn’t imagine a life without you. It hurts too bad just to think about it.
Buck was about to go in when Taylor ran up to him. He had mixed emotions seeing her. One part of it was nice seeing her and the other part was disappointed seeing her.
“Hey Taylor what are you doing here” Buck asked
“I heard Y/N saved a pregnant women’s life that is an amazing story” Taylor said
“Are you serious right now” Buck said getting loud
“Why are you so surprised” Taylor said
“Because your just using her for your own good that’s not right you didn’t even ask if she’s okay” Buck said
“look “ Taylor began to say
“No just forget about it okay just go” Buck said
He walked away and walked into your room. Bobby was sitting at the edge of your bed and you both looked at him when he walked in.
“Hey Bobby do you think I could have a moment” Buck said
“Of course” Cap said heading out.
Buck took Caps seat and you reached out and gave his hand a squeeze.
“Don’t ever scare me like that again” Buck said
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to  it was either me or her and” You were saying
Buck cut you off mid sentence
“No okay I don’t wanna life a live with you ever okay your way to important so what did you mean to Bobby I heard you” Buck asked
You looked down at your hands not want to answer. Buck lifted your head up to look at him.
“Look okay the truth is I don’t have family my parents disowned me when I joined the military with Eddie I haven’t talked to them in years so I don’t matter that Baby and Mom Matter more” You said
“Hey you look at me okay you matter I know what it’s like to have shitty parent’s okay but us here the 118 me you eddie and Chris were a family and I couldn’t imagine you not here okay I love you” Buck said
You snapped your head up and look surprised and taken back.  You weren’t sure if he meant like in love or I love you as a friend. Buck was realizing what he said too.
So you decided to test the waters.
“I love you to you know were friends and family always will be I appreciate you saying that” You said
Buck gave you kind of a sad look before speaking up
“I uh didn’t mean it like that I meant more of it as I am in love you type of thing” Buck said. You could tell he was nervous.
You didn’t even say anything you almost tackled him and kissed him. He was surprised at first but then he kissed you back.
The kiss was short and sweet. When it broke you looked up at Buck.
“I love you too in no a friend way” You said laughing.
“Please don’t scare me like that again or do anything reckless” Buck said
“I’ll try and promise you that but who knows I like to take risk” You said laughing.
“I’m gonna die of a heart attack I see” Buck said laughing.
“Good thing i’m also a trained paramedic” You said laughing.
The rest of the 118 came barreling in after that.
“Hey Buck stop hogging her” Eddie said running over to hug you.
“Don’t you dare do that again do you understand me” Eddie said
“Yes sir” You said making everyone laugh.
“Is just me or is anyone else sick of hospitals” Chim said
“Hell yeah we are all” Hen said
“Well this better be the last time the nurses personally know us by now” Cap said
Everyone started laughing after he said that. Maybe Buck Was right this was the only family you needed.
You could life with that it was all you ever wanted. Now this life was just perfect.

To warm the cold side of the pillow
When they were all sat for breakfast, Christopher was wiggling in his seat and avoiding eye-contact from both adults. Eddie glanced at Buck and just shrugged.
“Uh, Bud?” Buck tried, his voice soft. “Everything okay?”.
Please don’t let it be because he stayed the night, please don’t let-
“Can I have eggs instead of bacon?” Christopher asked, still looking down at his plate.
Buck let out a breath of relief that made him feel like he was dying and Eddie laughed into his orange juice.
“Sure thing,” Buck replied, ruffling his hair. “Eggs coming up!”.

you had just finished shutting the doors of the ambulance, giving it two loud bangs for them to drive before re-joining the crew.
"another great save guys, good job!" bobby says as he pats eddie on the back, walking over to ready the engine.
"god im hungry!" he blurted out and you just laugh, "what?"
"i just seriously don't understand how you're hungry after all of that," if anything you felt incredibly nauseous.
that's when you felt the sharp hot pain in your side, suddenly finding it hard to stand, it had become apparent that your adrenaline had worn off.
falling to your knees as you cried out in agony. your hands pressed to the hurt area, pulling it back to find your hand soaked in your own blood.
buck worriedly rushed to your side, his hands gently pushed your shoulders back so you laid out flat on the ground. only to find the cause of your discomfort was a large piece of glass was sticking out of your stomach through your jacket.
his first thought was to curse you as you had recklessly climbed through the windshield when you helped the young woman out of the recent car wreck, only for her to be okay and for you to get injured yourself.
he rummaged through his medical bag for something to stop the bleeding, struggling but finally found the right supplies. using his teeth to rip open the packaging before putting pressure around the glass making you groan out in pain.
"i know, i know sweetheart. you're gonna be okay." no words left you just sharp little breaths as you lightly gripped onto bucks arm, trying to give him some sort of reassurance.
he screamed out for the rest of the team, voice breaking as tears streamed down his face. the glass was deep like really deep, all evan could think about was you and if anything had been nicked internally.
bobby and eddie ran over to the two of you, you could hear one of them call for another ambulance as soon as possible. something about a firefighter down, but all you could focus on was how cold you had gotten.
"buck i don't feel s-so goo-d..." for the first time in a long time you were afraid.
"they're on their way, you gotta hold on for me, please!" he begged as he smoothed the hair that had fallen across your face with his spare shaking hand, the other still tightly pressed against your wound.
shakily you lifted your hand to brush his tears, your thumb very slowly caressing his cheek. "you'll be oka.."
the pain was all too much, it was too difficult to keep your eyes open. evan shook your face, "no. no you've got to stay awake! i can't lose you." he shouted, as eddie pulled him away from you. the paramedics put you on the gurney rushing you into the back of the vehicle immediately hooking you up to multiple medications.
bobby and buck shared a look, the captain gave him a swift nod, that's all it took for him to jump into the seat next to you. grabbing a hold of your hand, squeezing it tightly in his own as you made your way to the hospital.
Tumblr media
beep. beep. beep.
your vision was blurred as you opened your eyes, first seeing the heart monitor and the dark sky that peaked out from behind the wonky blinds. the hospital was quiet, a little too quiet for your liking.
you turned to your other side, finding a sleeping evan in what looked like the most uncomfortable chair with a blanket wrapped around his body.
a smile tugged at your lips, he stayed with you. your smile soon fell realising the last thing he saw of you conscious was you nearly bleeding out in his arms.
readjusting yourself was harder than you thought, grunting at the pain, holding your side.
buck woke up startled, jumping up to help you lay back down.
"that was one way to get your attention," you laugh before wincing.
"you've got to be careful, that glass got you good." he says as he straightened out your blanket.
he was trying to not show his worry, you had known him far too long to see through that. "buck, buckley!" you whisper yelled, grabbing his hand, pulling him close to you the best that you could.
everything fell still. his bigger hand intertwined with yours.
"i was so worried," his voice wobbled, it was only loud enough for you to hear.
"i should've stopped you, if i did you wouldn't be here right now."
you squeezed his hand, looking up at him. "you know you couldn't have stopped this, ev."
tugging on his hand to bring him closer to you, shuffling over in your bed, patting the small amount of space next to you. "hop in?" you questioned with a smile.
"there's no way there is enough room on that thing for the both of us!" he exclaimed
"well you better squeeze in then."
and so he did, your bodies pressed up against one another. only after buck extensively checked that he wasn't hurting you or laying on any tubes.
you were now both settled face-to-face, hearing nothing but each others breaths and the beating of your machine. your heart rate elevated when he leaned in closer to run his fingers through your hair.
feeling your face heat up, closing your eyes, embarrassed how a simple action could do that to you, let alone him being able to hear it. the sound of him chuckling worried you. but the feeling of him going back to gently brushing the stray hairs out of your face comforted you.
"i know we deal with close calls every single day, but i... god. all i could think about when they took you away was all the things i hadn't told you yet."
your eyebrows furrowed and eyes reopened, "what things?"
"uh, well things like 'i love you' and also to let you know that 'you stink'," he laughed as you playfully punched him in the arm.
"hey, ow!"
"took you long enough." you exaggeratedly sighed whilst trying to keep a straight face.
"you knew?!" he exclaimed as he sat up still looking for answers.
laughing at his reaction as you held your bandage, "no, you c'mere!"
he scooped you up in his arms, your arms wrapping around his shoulders, laughter now gone. he leaned in close, his lips brushed softly against yours. smiling into the kiss you pulled him closer to you.
you stayed like that for a while, cuddling, kissing and talking. that soon came to a stop when you fell asleep listening to evan's voice, he only realised this mid ramble. pulling the covers up over you, closing his eyes, slowly wrapping his arms around you. not before giving you a kiss on the forehead of course.

ᕚ---ᕘ
You stood nervously in the middle of a secluded examination room, your expression focused as you quickly put on the disposable gloves and prepared yourself for the task at hand. You were assigned an aggressive patient, tormented by pain and under the possible influence of drugs. His gaze is wide open between the gathering of nurses who are trying to hold him down on the stretcher, his pupils dilated and his movements uncontrolled while gesticulating wildly. The man seemed out of control and full of anger, sending a shiver of fear down your spine.
Various utensils were scattered on the floor, and the medical ultrasound machine lay overturned on the floor and yet you approached the patient with calm determination but caution, trying not to be intimidated by his aggression. A tense atmosphere filled the room as you struggled to take the necessary medical measures.
Drawing up a syringe with your shaky hands and keeping it ready to calm the patient down, you knew you had to proceed with caution to avoid escalating the situation as the man uttered unintelligible profanities and tries to break away. In a state of delirious rage, he vehemently resisted the touch and in a sudden rush of aggression, he reached for you and hit you with a powerful punch in the stomach. "Go away! Leave me alone!"
You stumbled back, feeling the sharp pain in your side, but despite the shock and injury, you remained calm and focused. With practiced hands you continued to try to treat the patient, still holding the syringe in your fist, while at the same time he tried to protect himself. "Please calm down, Mr. Johnson. We just want to help you." Another push from him made you fall violently into one of the standing cabinets, the needle of the syringe piercing your thigh.
“Damn,” you groaned, looking down. Luckily the sedative had not come loose due to the impact and was still completely in the syringe, so you had nothing to worry about. However, the relentless beeping of the machines near you worried you.  With a short scream, you quickly pulled the needle from your leg and threw the used syringe into the sink before standing up and looking at your colleagues. "Get the police in here. They should put the guy in chains, it is too dangerous for us.“
One of the male nurses nodded at you and let go of the guy on the lounger. He quickly ran out of the room and let the other sisters fight the man with all their might. Without further ado, he came back with two officers and surprisingly, you looked into the face of your girlfriend and her long-time partner, Officer Rodriquez. „Doctor, how can we support you?“ she asked professionally with a smile on her lips, and you breathed a sigh of relief as you pointed at the young man. A small grin appeared on your face too at the sight of her. She was wearing her uniform, the taser holster already open just in case while gloves were up to her wrists to intervene safely whenever you needed her. "He is very aggressive. We have to give him an injection, but he fights back with all his might."
It was only when you pushed yourself up from your leaning position and hobbled along to the syringes to put on a new one that she noticed that a blood stain had formed on your thigh; showing through your blue pants. "You are hurt, are you okay?" There was concern in her voice that you could clearly hear. Both Athena and her partner cautiously approached Mr. Johnson, trying to calm him down while you prepared the injection of a sedative. However, Athena's gaze was focused on you, demanding an answer. "I am okay, nothing happened."
The police officer was not really convinced by your answer, but would deal with you later and care for you. Officer Rodriguez spoke soothingly to the man, diverting his attention as he helped the nurses hold him on the gurney while you cautiously approached him behind Athena. With the help of the two police officers, you finally managed to calm him down and give the injection. Slowly, Mr. Johnson relaxed, twitching briefly before his anger subsided and his thrashing became weaker until he finally fell into a more peaceful sleep.
Your people exhale in relief as you continue to keep an eye on the patient, watching his heartbeat slow down. "One of you must remain here with the nurses to provide them with protection should he wake up again," you stated as you freed yourself from the utensils you had been using and successfully threw your gloves into the trash can. Before you left the room, you addressed your employees. "He needs to be monitored around the clock. Call me as soon as anything changes in his condition. Give him fluids, a liter of saline to start with."
The door closed behind you and you walked towards a free room to treat your wound. However, before you had even reached your destination, an arm sneaked around your waist as a kiss was planted on your temple. "Hey, 'thena." You whispered, giggling and leaning against her side. Supportively, she helped you into another room where she ordered you to sit down while you told her what you needed to patch yourself up. "How many times have I told you that once you get an aggressive patient, you do not do anything until you call the cops into the room?"
“Often enough,” you admitted, placing a hand over your furrowed brow before standing up and gently brushing your pants down your thigh. "But the work must be done, even under these extremely difficult circumstances." Her head shook several times as she walked towards you and placed the things you needed on the cupboard. Athena took a seat in the chair in front of you and began cleaning the wound with disinfectant.
You clenched your teeth, let out a painful hiss, and squeezed your eyes shut as the cotton pad dipped in alcohol glided over your skin. "'thena, you know that I am actually the doctor, right?" you muttered under you breath and clawed into the foam with all your strength. "Babe, but you know I do not care, right?"

summary: Turns out, Natalia does see Buck, though maybe not in the way he expected. In which Natalia realizes Buck's in love with Eddie and help him see it, too.

___
It’s a quiet evening, the only sounds in the loft are the TV playing some dumb reality show, and the sounds of chewing, as Buck and Natalia eat their take-out dinner. Buck’s hunched over the coffee table, constantly shifting on the uncomfortable couch, eyes glued to the TV, as he’s devouring his meal. He’s aware of Natalia curled up on the other side of the couch, poking at her food and staring off into nothing, deep in thought. He leaves her to it, if she wants to tell him what’s bothering her, she will. Or maybe he’ll ask later.
They haven’t spoken in what feels like hours, just sitting there silently, keeping each other company. It’s been happening more and more often, with Natalia getting lost in her thoughts, and Buck weirdly not being the one to break the silence. He doesn’t mind it with her. It’s nice, pleasant. He really likes spending time with her, even if it’s just this. It’s comfortable. This relationship, just being with Natalia, feels comfortable.
The silence is finally interrupted by Buck’s phone pinging with a text message. It’s laying on the coffee table and the screen lights up, so Buck peeks at it, and can feel an involuntary smile on his face when he sees Eddie’s name. He quickly picks up the phone to read the text and respond, when suddenly he hears Natalia speak up.
“Oh.” she whispers. He looks up at her, phone still in hand, thumb hovering over the text notification, chewing the last bite of his food, and she looks like she just had some sort of breakthrough. “Are you in love with Eddie?” she asks point blank, sounding curious, or like she already knows the answer, and Buck almost chokes on his food, coughing and dropping his phone back onto the table, reaching for his drink.
“Wh- what?” Buck manages to exclaim once he’s pretty sure he won’t die. “Shit, why- where did this even come from?” he asks incredulously.

Hi! Could I please request a 911 fic, please? Reader is Buck and Maddie’s little sister and is dating Eddie. She goes for a hike and falls, maybe just like a broken leg and concussion... but she has to call 911 and is freaking out a little and Maddie does her best to calm her down til the 118 gets there. Then lots of fluff with the guys. Maybe they show up at her apartment the next day to help her out with things and binge some tv with her. Thank you in advance!

summary: request
eddie diaz x buckley!reader
a/n: tysm for the request, hope you enjoy 💗
y/n thought it was common sense to not disturb the wildlife in the trail. there were signs everywhere, you had to be blind to miss them. blind or stupid, at least. she also knew that the group of teenage girls had ignored the sign, trying to run after the deer and scare them away.
it was her one day off. it wasn’t a huge day to go to the hiking paths, so she went when it wasn’t busy. however, the mob of juveniles came across like they were the only people to exist, shoving anyone and anything out of their way. y/n had fallen victim in their path of destruction. she had been firmly distracted on the panicked deer, being able to outrun their pictures and harassment.
stupidly, her food stumbled on a pit, twisting her ankle as she fell down the rocky hill. she felt the massive rock jab her head, leaving a pitchy ringing in her ears. the fall had turned her leg in ways that it shouldn’t turn. finally, after what felt like minutes of falling, she landed on her back on the dusty floor of the woods. she lay there panting for a few moments, hoping someone would have seen her fall, but there wasn’t anyone but the excited shouting of the girls. she basically had no other choice but to fish her phone out of her pocket. she was so discombobulated and facing pain that she could only manage to type the three numbers.
“9-1-1, what is your emergency?” the voice of y/n’s older sister came through the phone, making y/n’s heart race in relief.
“maddie! oh, jesus,” she groans. “so, funny story, i just fell on my hike and i bashed my head on a rock, and then my leg did a weird thing and now it hurts like a bitch so i don’t r-“
“y/n?” she could tell the panicked voice of her sister. “wha- ok, first, tell me what trail you’re on.”
“i’m on the northeast trail at brush canyon,” y/n informs, despite the throbbing ache in her skull.
“alright, i’m sending units to you now, but stay on the phone with me?”
“i will. god, those girls were just running like maniacs an-“
“hey, hey, calm down, y/n. you’re going to be fine, just don’t get too riled up, yeah? police and rescue are 3 minutes away from your location now.”
“thank you, maddie,” y/n says into the phone, starting to calm down and grow more tired.
“of course, that’s why i’m here. the police should pull up in a minute, i love you,”
“i love you too, maddie,” maddie hangs up the phone, leaving her to buck and eddie now. they came to check the safety of the trail after hearing about the pits, and the concerns of people tripping and tumbling down the hills. when buck saw his little sister on the ground, his heart stopped.
“y/n?” he shouted, sliding down the hill and next to y/n’s body.
“heyyy, buck,” she says, being given pain medicine by chimney. “oh, i fell by the way.”
“eddie!” he yells, calling for her boyfriend as he walks down to see her too.
“what the hell happened?” he asks, completely alarmed by her state on the ground. “hey, are you ok?”
“splendid. not the best hike, but i’ll just leave a bad review. and someone tell those bitches to stop running after the deer!”
“alright, she’s fine,” buck laughs, getting his sisters personality back as they lift her onto the stretcher. bobby allows buck and eddie to travel with her to the hospital, as her eyes close in the back.
“i’m not sleeping, i’m just resting my eyes.”
“y/n, you probably should sleep,” buck tells her.
“yeah, baby, you hit your head pretty good,” eddie adds. he smiles at y/n’s scrunched eyebrows and shut eyes as she just continues to fall asleep one minutes later.
the doctors had confirmed that she did fracture her patella, and would be limited in movement for a few weeks. she had a light concussion from the impact on her head, but she’d heal perfectly fine. it wasn’t really anything to worry about.
she returned back to her apartment with maddie, helping her carry her things back in with the crutches. “thanks, maddie.”
“don’t thank me, just please be careful now,” she begs. “i don’t want you to push yourself like evan did and get all worked up.”
“i’m fine, maddie, i swear.”
“ok,” she concludes. “i have to go to work, but if you need anything in the world, call me or buck or eddie and i’m sure someone will help you. are you sure you don’t need anything?”
“maddie, get out of my apartment and go to work. i am fine!”
“alright, i love you. i’ll see you soon,” she says, shutting the door behind her as y/n sits on the couch, leaning her new crutches against it. she finally gets settled watching some old random reruns from tlc, getting invested in it when she realizes that she has to eat something with her new medicine. she tries to figure out something, when she hears an abrupt knock on her door. she limps over with her crutches, revealing a grinning buck and eddie by her door with a bag of food.
“we come with food!” buck smiles. “your favorite! cheesecake factory!”
“you guys did not have to do this,” she says, letting them come in and placing a kiss on eddie’s lips.
“well, we wanted you to have anything you need,” eddie tells her.
“i appreciate, i really do.”
“good, so what do you need done?” eddie asks. y/n thinks about what she could get away with, and manages to make them clean her entire kitchen. they did it willingly, so it’s nothing but a win for her.
“perfect! now, come eat with me and watch this show i found,” she beams, crutching over to the couch and placing the bag of food in front of her on the coffee table.
“what are we watching?” buck asks, starting to crack open his takeout box.
“i’m not really sure, some guy making cakes in new jersey,” she presses the volume as the voice of the man comes through the speakers. she sits back with her plate of food, looking at her two favorite boys in the world.

When Buck saw Athena walk into the fire station by herself, he immediately knew something was wrong. You two were planning to come in together, to have dinner with the crew.
Walking up to Athena and Bobby, Buck felt a nervous knot in his stomach. "Hey Athena, where's Y/n?"
Facing him full on, Athena took a breath. "Now don't go worrying your big head into a panic. But-"
"But?" His heart started pounding. Too late, the panic started.
"On a call today, Y/n got hurt. I dropped them off at the hospital, it didn't look too bad, but they might keep Y/n over night."
Buck's eyes flicked between Athena and Bobby as his heart started pounding. "What happened?"
She let out a sigh. "Some drunk bastard with a baseball bat."
"Baseball bat?!"
"Buck, calm down. Just relax." Bobby began as he put his hands on Buck's shoulders. "We have plenty of crew in the house today to cover if a call comes in, go ahead and head to the hospital okay?"
Buck nodded, unable to speak as he ran out of the station. The whole drive was spent in nervous silence as his fingers impatiently tapped the steering wheel.
Rushing into the hospital and up to the desk, he inquired after you with rushed words.
"Oh they checked out."
"Checked out?"
"Yes, about twenty minutes ago. There was no need for them to stay over night."
"Oh, good, okay. Uh, thank you." Hastening out of the hospital, he began to drive to your apartment.
Slipping in through the door, he looked around, seeing your discarded shoes and bag, but you no where in sight, he called out. "Y/n? You here?!"
Only a second of silence passed before a response came. "Bedroom!" He felt the knot in his stomach recede at the sound of your voice.
Slowly opening the door, he peaked in, seeing you lying in the bed. You smiled at him, but it faltered when you saw the worried and shocked look on his face.
"Don't worry, it looks worse than it is."
Buck quickened to the bed as he looked over your face. You had a small cut on your lip, and a large bruise on your cheek bone. "Athena said some guy attacked you with a bat?"
"Yeah, he only got one hit in with the bat, bruised some ribs, but it's alright."
Sitting on the edge of the bed, he pulled off the covers, and you allowed him to lift your shirt. You saw him wince as he looked over the developing bruise along your side. You set your hand on his arm. "It's alright, it doesn't hurt too much."
He gave you a look that told you he didn't believe you, seeing right through the lie. "Yeah well it will hurt more later on, and I don't care how tough you are. Maybe I should take the day off tomorrow"
You smiled but shook your head. "There's no need Buck, I'm alright, I promise."
He let out a sigh as he pulled your shirt back own, his fingers playing with the hem. Even if you said h didn't need too, he already decided to ask Bobby or the day off.
His brow furrowed before a small smile played on his lips. "Is this my shirt?" He asked tugging lightly on it.
You look down at the shirt and smiled. "You mean our shirt?"
He let out a soft chuckle. "Oh, it's ours now is it?"
"Anything you leave at my place automatically becomes a shared possession. Same as the stuff I left at yours. Feel free to wear my clothes any time."
He laughed. "I don't think I could look nearly as good in them, as you look in mine." Leaning forward he pressed a gentle kiss to your lips.
You smiled at him, bringing your hand to his face. "You left the firehouse as soon as Athena showed up alone didn't you?"
He smiled and nodded. You sighed dramatically, laying your head back. "And I was so hoping you'd bring me some food back."
Buck's eyes widened a bit as he began to stand. "Do you want some? I can go back and get some if you want."
You let out a laugh as you grabbed his arm, pulling him back down, wincing a bit from the motion. "No, I'm kidding. Just stay. That's what I want." He smiled at you, taking your hand in his. "And maybe some order out." You added on with a grin.
He chuckled. "Anything you want."
"In a while though. Come here." You pulled him towards you, pressing a kiss to his lips, before you moved over in the bed.
As he lied down next to you, you laid your head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arm around you and pressed a kiss to your head.
"Are you sure you are okay?" He asked softly.
You nodded your head. "Yes. I'm more than alright now that you are here." You nestled your head into his neck and closed your eyes.
Leaning his head on top of yours, he pulled you a little closer, careful to not hurt you. Closing his eyes, he breathed in your familiar scent, settling his nerves, reining himself that you were safe and sound in his arms.
