Lilia is just happy that you feel some sort of positive way to his family member (makes things easier when you are stuck in that cabin)

I mean, he did see Silver as a present from you, a child meant to bring him back to the light after being so long in the shadow of war

And now the three of you were together! How lovely!

Which would mean that you planned this all along. Dear Overseer, if you liked the idea of you being a family you could have just told him so

He will be the best partner to raise a child together you could dream of

And should someone dare to interrupt the perfect, peaceful life you three (plus two more) had, he wouldn't mind swinging that sword again

Are you sure you want him to be your son? Really?

Apparently he was not the only one surprised since he could hear the thud of his father falling to the ground behind him and Seek screaming somewhere behind him

After that he is glued to your side (even though you have to part sooner or later since he is not living in Ramshackle)

One morning you woke up to the guy standing there with some food being like "I made some food."

Like where the Heck did he even get the keys for the dorm? (He broke in through a hole in the ceiling)

Silver always comes running to you whenever he does something and wants praises

Once he was best in one of his classes and he stood there with the report like he could turn into a dog and get headpats from you any second

But, as I am sure you are aware of, this is a blog with yandere themes and we have to say goodbye to the fluff at some point

That sword training comes in handy is all I'm saying

I mean, he has probably enough strength to break someone's leg with his bare hands by simply applying some pressure

And that one Diasomnia student that tried to take his son-status away from him was found again in a not-so-compatible-state-with-life kind of situation

I'm letting you imagine what happened

Like Lilia he is ready to burn everyone who dares to interfere with your little family

The forests of his homeland are pretty though so no need to worry about the appearance of your surroundings once they bring you to your new home (who needs social interaction anyways?)

A second of silence

And then the screaming started

“OH HOW KIND OF OUR OVERSEER! TO SHOW A MORTAL THEIR KINDNESS AND CARING SIDE!”

Seek would be lying if he said that he wasn't surprised

That didn't mean he couldn't “help” you

Someone intruded on that dinner you had with Lilia and Silver?

Ouch… that punch must have hurt

Whenever Silver or his Father had to interfere because someone else came too close then they were some incredibly slick (looking at you Rook) or lucky person

Don't let his loud mouth fool you

This crocodile has done unmentionables in your name in order to make things easier for your new found family

Concept: Imagine if Altaïr had a habit of adopting birds of prey and stuff.

Ezio did the same thing except with cats (including a lion cub, if you know the reference to Da Vinci you'll get it)

Connor adopted canines constantly.

Desmond inherits all of these and takes in every single stray animal he finds. It doesn't matter if it's even safe to keep as a pet. He just adopts every single animal in sight.

In other words, through genetic manipulations, the Isus have created the ultimate savior of humanity:

A Disney Princess.

And it all started with Altaïr accidentally turning one of the towers in Masyaf as an aviary that only housed Birds of Prey.

No one knows how he did it.

They were pretty sure he started doing it after his father died and no one had the heart to tell a grieving child to stop adopting birds as a coping mechanism.

By the time Altaïr had been initiated, the aviary and its occupants have become just another staple in Masyaf.

Is it weird that they only listen to Altaïr?

Is it weird to hear Altaïr have a full blown conversation with them?

Very much so.

But it was Altaïr.

He was as weird as he was talented.

So people just left him be.

Time passed and Altaïr became a legend in the Brotherhood.

There were whispers that he could command any kind of birds of prey to do his bidding.

Perhaps he could.

Perhaps he could not.

No one found out the truth.

Ezio, on the other hand, was known as a hoarder of cats.

He gives food to even the dirtiest stray cats that could be found scurrying in the streets.

And they would follow him back to the Brotherhood’s hideout where some poor servant or recruit would have to bathe the cat, suffering the scratches and bites.

Only to be rewarded by the cat purring contently when it is presented to Ezio who holds it in his arms and calls it bella or bello.

And then… Ezio managed to get a hand on an illegally smuggled lion cub who grew up to be quite… large.

A very spoiled large cat who always loved it when Leonardo would come to visit because he would give the lion treats so it would let Leonardo study it.

Now, Ratonhnhaké:ton didn’t plan to adopt any animals. It just so happened that he joined a wolf pack in taking down preys once and now he was considered a… ‘kindred spirit’. They would join Ratonhnhaké:ton whenever he was off hunting and wouldn’t take his kills.

When he left the village, he saved a dog being mistreated by Red Coats and the dog just followed him to the homestead.

While he was sleeping the barn, he saw another dog, all skin and bones, rummaging the containers where the old man keeps the horses’ food for any scraps it might eat and he felt sorry for it so he would throw it a bit of the meat he would prepare for him and the first dog that kept following him.

By the time, Achilles finally agreed to train him, the wolf pack that he had hunted with near his village came to the homestead and… just followed him around.

Achilles thinks it’s a gift.

That there have been Assassins that had a close kinship with animals like Altaïr with his birds and Ezio with his cats.

The wolf pack stayed in the homestead when Ratonhnhaké:ton went with Achilles to Boston. The dog that Ratonhnhaké:ton fed also stayed because they learned that he was already quite an old dog.

Achilles didn’t say anything but the grief in his eyes made it clear that the old dog’s owner had been one of the many dead Assassins that Achilles knew.

When Ratonhnhaké:ton returned from Boston…

Not only was he accompanied by the first dog he adopted, he apparently adopted 3 more dogs along the way.

Achilles has himself to blame for that one.

And so, time moves on and Desmond Miles is born.

The window to his nursery was always close because birds and squirrels would come inside an open window and surround his cradle.

His mother had been worried that those squirrels and even some of the birds might carry something that would make a baby sick.

When he grew older, his friends were the animals in the woods surrounding the Farm and the guard dogs that Farm used.

The other children thought he was weird because of his affinity to animals.

Many adults found it to be a bit disturbing but also a sign of the greatness that Desmond would achieve.

Why else would he have the same ‘skill’ as Altaïr and Ezio, after all?

Then Desmond showed… to be lacking in training.

He wasn’t bad.

He was even better than a lot of the other kids.

The problem was…

Everyone expects him to be more than that.

And Desmond couldn’t take it.

So he ran away.

And the animals ran away with him.

And Desmond finds an abandoned farm where he finally carves out a place of happiness for himself and his friends.

… Desmond has no idea where the bear came from but he became docile after Desmond scolded him for destroying the trash bin and eating spoiled food.

So...

Mud Dogs actually adopted her by accident. One day their base was attacked by a pack of Krang's hounds. Almost everyone managed to escape in time, but Leonard was badly wounded and accidentally left behind.

He was just contemplating how much time he had left to live when he saw an unknown human child make its way to the wreckage of the base. It was a girl about ten years old. She was hoping to get some valuable resources that the yokai might have left behind in a hurry. She didn't find much. But she did find Leonard.

And they instantly realized that they didn't like each other, but she helped him anyway despite the "you stink" and "you stink more" dialogues.

Leonard was still hurt, so he promised her that if she helped him catch up with his friends, he would give her lots of food.

She agreed, and then they hiked across the wasteland for almost three days, constantly insulting each other like two kindergartners.

The rest of the story is simple. She came to the new Mud dog's base with Leonard. And kinda....stayed there

Wan Kindergarten!Chuuya

Bungo Stray Dogs Chuuya Nakahara & Gender Neutral + Osamu Dazai X Reader

Beginning Note: Initially, I wanted to include all the scenarios that were thought of, but I decided to make them separate. So, there will be a continuation of this. @kiwibeanv helped a lot with the scenarios, especially the future ones I’ll do.

Word Count: 2191

(Fluff/Little Crack)

Background:

At some point, you had decided you wanted to take care of a human child, but you didn’t have a significant other and you didn’t really want to go through all the trouble of the process in making it.

So, you went to an adoption center and looked around at all the children there. All different ages, appearances, personalities, etc.

One child caught your eye, a ginger haired boy with big, blue eyes. He was so adorable, and he didn’t seem to be troublesome.

You did all the paperwork and whatever else needed to be done and now had an adopted son whose name was Chuuya.

Initially, he didn’t want anything to do with you, just locking himself up in his room that you’d prepared. He only left it for necessities, but sped back as soon as possible.

You didn’t have much hope in the beginning, but he eventually started to trust you. He would start eating at the dinner table, say good morning to you, sit in the living room for a while.

As more time passed, he was comfortable with you. Chuuya finally saw you as a parental figure, and you couldn’t be happier. All the waiting for him had paid off.

He was such a good kid. If he ever had to say hi to someone, he would greet them politely and introduce himself. He cleaned up after himself, he wasn’t always too loud, sometimes he would yell out, but he quickly calmed down.

Chuuya then reached the age of attending school, so before the year started, you took him shopping for clothes. The ones he had were a little worn and he could use a wardrobe change.

“How’s this one?” You held up a blue shirt with a sheep on it. He took a quick glance before shaking his head.

“I don’t like that one.”

You sighed and placed it back. Of all the options there were, he didn’t like any of them. You turned to him and asked, “Well, do you have an idea of what you’d like? We can look for it.”

Chuuya thought about it before looking up at you. “Something dark. I don’t like bright colors.” He looked at another shelf and pointed at it. “Like those!”

You looked where he pointed at and saw that the clothing were mainly black, gray, white, navy blue, and other dark neutral colors. You raised an eyebrow. “Those are church clothes.”

Chuuya pouted, “But those are the only good ones.” He turned back to you with puppy eyes. “Now you don’t want me to get what I like?”

You decided to check them out so you walked over to the shelves. “I suppose it can’t hurt. But don’t blame me if you don’t like them anymore.” You browsed through them all, asking him what he thought, and he finally made his decision.

When you two returned home, you told him to try it on to make sure it fit. He walked out of his room wearing the new clothes and showed you his outfit.

You were silent for a few seconds before muttering, “You look like a Christian. Like you’re going to the church summer camp.”

Hearing your words, his jaw fell a bit and his eyebrows furrowed. He looked offended at what you said. “I do not!” He screeched. He fell silent and looked down at himself, beginning to quietly mutter to no one in particular.

You let out an airy chuckle and crouched down to his level and pet his head. “I didn’t necessarily say it was terrible.” You didn’t actually know what to think. It was goofy, but you’re not going to hurt his feelings.

He felt a little better and smiled at you. “Can we go get some ice cream? I was good today, right?” He bounced on the balls of his feet.

You couldn’t resist him, so you agreed.

Kindergarten:

The first day of school finally arrived, so you ensured that Chuuya had anything needed and that he wasn’t going to misbehave. The two of you got to the building and you escorted him to the front.

“I trust that you won’t cause trouble while you’re here?” You crouched down.

He sighed, “I’ll be good, I promise.” He was quiet for a few seconds before hesitantly taking a step closer to you and slowly raised his arms. He was asking for a hug.

You smiled and embraced him, caressing his head before planting a kiss on his temple. “Good boy. If you behave today, we’ll have whatever you want for dinner.” You pulled away, but kept your hands on his shoulders. “Sound good?”

His eyes lit up. “Yeah! That’s good!” His smile grew and he quickly hugged you again before skipping to the door. Before entering, he turned and waved to you, then went inside. You returned the gesture and stood up to make your way home.

Once the day ended, you went to pick him up. He was waiting at the front, looking around before his eyes landed on you and lit up at the sight. He ran to you and hugged your legs.

He told you all about his day and that he made a few friends. But he didn’t like his teacher and didn’t really tell you exactly why.

As the year went on, he seemed to have fun. He did complain about a few things, but it didn’t sound too terrible. You had met some of the staff and thought they were lovely.

Dazai, who seemed to be the main teacher, had come up to you at some point to whine about being threatened with bombs. And any time parents and teachers met up, he just says to you that Chuuya wasn’t nice with him.

He just complained about anything and everything, no matter how minor the “offense” was.

At the news of the bomb threats, you didn’t know how to react. You just stood there, thinking why a nice kid like Chuuya would throw out some bomb threats, to his teacher especially.

“I’ll talk to him when we get home,” you told Dazai before leading Chuuya away. And talk to him you did. He wasn’t happy about the lecture.

In general, Chuuya’s a very good child except for when he’s around Dazai, for some reason. He tries to be all mature, but you know that he loves all the children stuff.

He loves Odasaku Man and always plays the episodes when he gets home from school. At this point, you know the whole script of the show.

Doesn’t matter what meal he’s having, he wants milk as his drink. “I want to grow taller!” (Throughout all the years, he didn’t grow as much as he wanted)

The books he reads, he wants to read all the adult books (You never let him), but for bedtime stories, he goes with the picture books and fun plots.

You’ve also seen the other kids in his class, and you’re a little hesitant on the ones he’s best friends with. They might not be the best influence for later in life, but you’ll let him choose his friends. You’ll just make sure he knows how to take care of himself, but he’s still your little baby boy.

One of them is also wearing a strange outfit. He looks like a pilgrim and you feel like him and Chuuya could relate with the odd clothing. He seems cute. [Talking about Akutagawa]

You’re not even sure if Dazai is the best teacher. He’s gone onto his knees and pleaded with you to join him in a double suicide, and you’re skeptical. How was he approved to be teaching the class?

(Bonus) Romance with Dazai:

Despite your doubt concerning Dazai, you’ve somehow gained feelings for him. You never really acted upon them, just letting them exist. Sure, he may flutter your heart once or twice, but you’re not going to ask him out. If he were to somehow reciprocate, you’ll leave the confession to him.

And he did ask you out. Albeit, in a weird way. You still accepted, agreeing to go out with him. You had also befriended Yosano and Kouyou, so you left Chuuya under Kouyou’s care while you were out.

The two of you hit it off, so now you’re both in a relationship. You didn’t tell Chuuya because you knew he would throw a fit whenever Dazai was mentioned. You kinda regret not telling him, but oh well.

He noticed you and Dazai beginning to get closer, and he thought it was weird but shrugged it off as weird adult things. Then Dazai kissed your hand, which he’s kinda done before, but Chuuya was never used to it, so he just loudly gagged at the sight, letting his thoughts be known.

One time, you told Chuuya to wait for you at a specific spot because you wanted to talk with Dazai. He obeyed and started idly playing with the dirt for a while before looking in your direction, wondering why you were taking a bit. You seemed to be saying goodbye to his teacher, but Dazai planted a kiss? On your cheek?

His face morphed into a horrified expression as he let out a shocked sound. He ran up to you, tugging on your clothes and begging you to get away from Dazai.

Really, all he did was throw a tantrum. You excused yourself and took him home, where he locked himself in his room for the rest of the night.

You decided to let him do his thing for tonight, peeking into his room at midnight to see him sleeping in an awkward position on his bed. At least he put on his sleepwear before laying on the mattress.

You repositioned him, gently kissing his head, then left to your own room.

The next morning, he said good morning to you and apologized for his behavior. You forgave him, of course. It’s not his fault that his teacher and guardian got together and didn’t let him know.

Whenever he sees you and Dazai do anything that could be classified as romantic, he just gags and says “Disgusting!” Or “Ew!”

You had asked him to be as respectful as he could towards Dazai, but you didn’t really expect much from him. You just wanted them to at the very least tolerate each other.

He indeed did not act as nice as you wanted. Chuuya would still be the little rebellious kid he apparently was in the class, even more so with Dazai as his parental figure’s boyfriend.

Now, the brunette had two advantages in the power dynamic. Not only could he have the upperhand as Chuuya’s teacher, but also as his future dad. He poked fun at the boy and if Chuuya tried to retaliate in some way, Dazai would just complain to you.

With you, Chuuya is an absolute angel, always smiling at you, cuddling up to you, doing whatever you say, bringing you little gifts, and the like. With Dazai, he was the opposite.

That little demon, he would be louder, cause more trouble than usual, throw little fits, give Dazai weird looks, and more. It’s like Chuuya’s only goal when around Dazai was to make his life hell. And it kinda was.

One time, you had to run some errands, but couldn’t bring Chuuya along. Luckily, there was no school that day, so Dazai came over to babysit. It should be easy, right? Chuuya wouldn’t want to cause any trouble in his parent’s house, would he?

When you opened the door to your home, it was a mess. Furniture was out of place, the TV was on, there was food on the floor, and in the middle of it all, Dazai and Chuuya froze. The former holding the child away from him while Chuuya was biting Dazai’s wrist. They both looked roughed up.

“What happened here?” You slowly asked, closing the door behind you. You placed down whatever was in your arms and removed any articles of clothing, putting them in their proper place.

“Oh, my lovely significant other who I deeply cherish and wish to spend the rest of my life with! I was just handling your little demon!” Dazai’s smile was tight as he placed Chuuya onto the floor. The latter removed his teeth from where they were. “I know it looks terrible, but we were just bonding! Right, Chuuya?”

The boy flinched at his tone before running to you and jumping onto you. You held onto him as he buried his face in your neck. “Mom/Dad! Dazai was a big meanie! Why are you even with him? He tried to hurt me!”

Dazai scoffed, “I did not! You were biting me! And you saw it, (Name).” He sighed, going into the kitchen and wetting a paper towel. “I’ll start cleaning...”

Although the two of them were troublesome at times, you loved them both. You knew Chuuya would grow into a strong gentleman. It doesn’t matter what he will do for the rest of his life, he will always be your baby.

Honestly, when you first felt like taking care of someone, it was an impulsive decision. But you’re glad that you went through with it, otherwise you wouldn’t be with Chuuya.

End Note: When KiwiBean first watched Wan, they thought Chuuya had a Christian fit, while Akutagawa had a pilgrim one. So, thanks to them!

Honestly, it took a few months to convince them to watch BSD, and they watched a few out of context before seeing the first episode. A few days to continue watching, and now they’re hooked. [I kept repeating BSD until random thoughts of Dazai and Chuuya’s name just ran through their head. :)]

Burning a shapeshifter's skin

I came across this werewolf folktale from France, in which a man saves a strange woman from the werewolf curse by burning the skin she uses to transform:

A hunter from Montrond had returned to a cabin at a time when the people of the mountain had left their cabins. After a while he heard a loud noise; he hid in a corner and saw the door in the middle of the barn open, and a werewolf with a bear skin on its back came into the cabin. He shed his skin and a beautiful young girl emerged. She lit a fire in the hearth. She had beautiful big hair and she started combing and grooming herself. When he saw this, the man came out of his hiding place and grabbed the girl by the hair; she began to scream and struggle, but nothing helped: he held her with force and, with his other hand, he took her bearskin and set it on fire. When it was completely destroyed, she thanked him wholeheartedly for freeing her of that thing. (Collected from Philomène Sambuis by Joisten Charles in 1961)

Despite the presence of violence, the story frames this as an act of kindness. I'm rather glad it doesn't end with her marrying him, but it did make me wonder why I've never seen a folktale where the animal skin of a selkie or swan maiden is burned...

One the one hand it makes sense, because werewolves are generally seen as cursed humans while selkies and swan maidens are born shapeshifters. But on the other hand, while burning a werewolf's skin or belt is a common theme (Dutch examples), there are also tales about werewolves who scream and flee in rage or terror when their skins are burned (Het weerwolfsvel verbrand). And there are plenty of fairy tales who use this trope in various ways:

• In many variants of the Romanian tale "The Enchanted Pig" a prince is cursed to be a pig but can take his skin off at night to become a human. When his wife burns the skin he is furious and she has to redeem herself. Sometimes it is implied the curse would have lifted on its own if she had been patient, but in others he just seems angry she did it at all.

• The Russian tale "The Tsarevna Frog" is similar. The Tsarevitch who marries a cursed maiden burns her frog skin and has to suffer for it. Because instead of breaking her curse it turns her into a swan that flies away for him to rescue.

• In the some versions of "Hans my Hedgehog" burning the hedgehog skin is punished too, while in some it cures the shapeshifting (even while in some cases the hedgehog wasn't born to humans, but was an adopted animal, like in the Indian stories about a crab husband). But in the Grimm's version Hans specifically instructs to burn his animal skin so he can be human permanently.

• In the folktale "The Dog Bride" from the Santal Parganas in India a herdboy marries a dog after seeing it shed its dog skin and become a beautiful maiden. She only turns human when her husband is asleep, but one night he manages to catch her and burns her skin, leaving her permanently in her beautiful woman shape. The story does not say she was cursed.

• In the story "The Mouse Maiden" from Shri Lanka the princess does seem to have been cursed to shapeshift between a girl and a mouseling, but she weeps when her husband burns her mouse jacket at the advice of her mother.

• The girl in the Greek tale "The Goat Girl" seems just as upset. She is the goat child born to a woman, who can shapeshift at will, and tries to throw herself into the oven her groom burns her goatskin in. It isn't clear if this is a compulsion or an act of grief.

• And there's also the tale "The Little Donkey", collected by the Grimms, in which a queen gives birth to a donkey who is then married to a princess and only then starts to turn human at night. The father of the bride burns the donkey skin, but unlike the other shapeshifters on this list (except for the Mouse Maiden) the donkey prince does not even notice until the next morning. He is terrified and tries to flee, until the king begs him to stay.

All this to say, these folktales are very divided on whether burning a shapeshifter's animal skin is the right thing to do. And it does not always depend on whether you are dealing with a cursed human or a born shapeshifter either! So I really wonder if there really aren't any folktales about selkies or swan maidens that involve the (attempted) burning of their skin, or if I just haven't found them yet...

Prompt: Male s/o who doesn't want human children but animal children instead.

Kazutora Hanemiya [Cat]

Warnings: mentions of disliking small children, Kazutora gets into his head

It would be a sudden question from him

He was curious after hearing [Name] refer to the animals at the pet shop as his children

"Do you want children?"

He asks one night while cuddling

Kazutora was enjoying the random show playing on the TV, well, more so enjoying it as background noise as he was thinking about something he had noticed his boyfriend doing.

"Tora?" The familiar voice pulled him out of his thoughts, looking up at the male who was smiling softly, "I was asking if you wanted to watch something else, you don't seem too interested in this. We don't have to watch-"

"Do you want children? Like a family?" Kazutora asked suddenly, making [Name] stop mid-sentence. Of all the questions he was expecting from his boyfriend that was not one of them.

"Where did this question come from? I'm just curious since I thought that I made my dislike of small children pretty clear." [Name] asked, thinking aloud at the end.

"You call the animals at the store your children." Kazutora explained, [Name] trying not to laugh but failing and giggling. His boyfriend confused about his reaction.

"Tora, I love you but I don't want another human running around. I don't think either of us have the skills to take care of a human child either. Animals are a different form of children. You take care of them, you love them, and they are part of your family. I would love to adopt a kitten, one of the ones that Sushi just had at the store. They are all adorable." [Name] answered, the male feeling a bit dumb at not catching on sooner with his antics. He smiled softly and cuddled into him after a moment, humming.

"Baji will probably let us adopt one of them." Kazutora was glad that [Name] was in the same boat as him with children, opting to have a furry companion around instead.

After annoying Baji he gives in

Sushi had a litter of colourful kittens, no one sure who the father was but they didn't care.

One of the kittens loved both [Name] and Kazutora more than the others

She is the runt of the litter, being a mixed breed between a ragdoll and something else, mainly black with orange tints on her paws and cheeks.

She is very loud when she doesn't get attention and both males are happy to spoil her with toys and treats

Chifuyu Matsuno [Dog]

Warnings: Injured animal

It was just a normal closing at the pet store

[Name] and Chifuyu closing and locking the store up before going to their apartment and passing out

A whimper stopped their routine actions, both of them looking down the alleyway that the back door lead into

Using his phone as a light, [Name] exposed a small puppy that was covered in dirt

“Hey buddy, what happened?” [Name] asked as he went up to the animal, Chifuyu finishing up locking the store and following him.

“He’s injured. Let’s take him back home and we can help him.” Chifuyu spoke, watching his boyfriend pick up the hurt animal.

Once they were home and cleaned the puppy up, they could see that he had cuts and a broken paw

The two nursed it back to health and [Name] had grown attached to the animal

"He is our child now. His name is Lefty." [Name] spoke with no room for argument (as if Chifuyu wanted to argue with his lover).

"We are only having one child, no matter what species. So he is our child now." Chifuyu said as [Name] laughed. The black haired male wondered how he got so lucky to have such a pretty boyfriend

Mitsuya Takashi [Lizard]

Warnings: None

It was late at night when the two males were finishing up loading the car with the different clothes that were shown off at a fashion event.

They were about to get into the car when Mitsuya saw movement from the corner of his eye.

Investigating, he found a carboard box that was tipped over, trapping something underneath.

"Love?" [Name] called out as he watched his boyfriend go into the alleyway. He went towards him and saw him looking at a scooting box.

"Here, hold this." Mitsuya spoke as he handed his phone to the other, using it as a flashlight. With both hands free, he carefully lifted the box up and was shocked to see a lizard (not a wild one in their area) frozen in place with the sudden light.

"Aw, he's so cute!" [Name] cooed as he crouched down, offering a hand to the reptile. To both of their surprise, the animal scuttered onto his hand with no second thoughts and clung to him. [Name] handed the phone back and held the reptile with two hands, gently petting it.

"We'll take him to Baji's pet store in the morning, they'll have the proper supplies to take care of him." Mistuya spoke, the two heading home.

This was the intended plan but the universe didn't listen to Mitsuya's wishes.

They brought him to Baji's shop and the reptile got hostile when away from [Name]'s hold.

"Well, I guess you are the owner of a lizard now. I can give you guys the stuff to take care of the dude." Baji spoke with a grin as the reptile calmed down once [Name] held him.

"Taka, he's our child! What should we name him? Hm. How about, Boxy!" [Name] said with a large smile and Mitsuya chuckled, smiling softly.

"He's your child, he only likes you. Just don't let him get into my fabric and we'll be good."

Wakasa Imaushi [Arctic Fox]

Warnings: Mentions of animal abandonment

Note: Arctic foxes are actually legal to own in Japan, it's complicated but apparently it's legal

[Name] thought it was just a puppy or kitten when he first found the white/silver coated animal in a box outside his shady apartment building

It wasn't until the animal that he named 'Snowball' grew to be larger than normal dogs or cats and didn't eat the normal pet food that he looked into what animal this was

It was Kazutora who informed him of what animal he had taken in.

Now, this whole time [Name] had been keeping this from his boyfriend

Wakasa knew that his boyfriend was hiding something but didn't pry. He trusted him and figured that if it was important then he would let him know.

Though he hadn't been answering his messages so the male was paying a surprise visit to his house. As he got closer, a noise that he could only explain as bark but not quite normal for barks, was coming from the house

"Snowy! Hush! The old lady a few doors down has already threatened to call animal control on you." Wakasa heard as he was about to knock on the door. Doing the action, he heard an animal moving around and trying to jump at the door.

"Snowy, I will put you outside if you continue to be rude." [Name] scolded the animal as he gently held his collar, opening his door to be surprised by an amused boyfriend.

"This is what you've been hiding. Doesn't look like any dog I can think of." Wakasa spoke, letting the fox sniff his hand and the animal rubbed against him. He knew that smell.

After the two went inside and [Name] grabbed some drinks for the them and sat down, the fox climbing up and taking up half the couch while laying on the human.

"This is Snowball, or Snowy. She's an arctic fox. I found her in a box and thought she was just a puppy but found out after I got attached that she is not a dog." [Name] admitted and Wakasa could only be amused at his boyfriend's antics

Snowy grew attached to the male

Soon enough the two moved in together and Wakasa didn't consider the amount of fox hair that would be everywhere

He doesn't mind though, he loves Snowy and would die for her

Haitani Rindou [Raccoon]

Warnings: Not technically legal in Japan to own a raccoon as a pet {It is in the state I live in so uhhh, heck yea}

Dating the famous ex-gang member and club owner was busy

After being together for a bit, his boyfriend agreed to be in his social media posts.

The two of them don't care what random people say and sometimes takes the hate and make sappy posts just to piss them off (Rin's idea)

Rin had suddenly gotten busy with his brother and they were dealing with the crimes and gangs that were around their clubs, leaving [Name] to be by himself for a bit

Rin was glad that the drama was finally sorted out and he had been sleeping at the office or at Ran's. He was so glad to be back at the small house that he shared with [Name].

Well he was excited and had texted his lover that he was on his way home, only to be greeted with a nervous looking male blocking the entryway.

"Babe, I love you and I am excited to hear whatever you have to say but can we go inside?" Rin asked, feeling like something was up and he had confirmation when [Name] nervously laughed.

"Okay, but I need you to not be mad when we go inside. I might've done something without thinking and now we might have an extra mouth." [Name] stammered out and Rin wanted to scream, he was not about to have a child. He barely raised himself, he can't raise another human. He followed his boyfriend into the house, it seemed normal and there wasn't an extra pair of shoes so maybe it wasn't a child.

"Trash!" [Name] called out, Rin concerned about why he would be calling the new member 'trash'. He was still convinced that maybe it was a kid but he watched a chunky animal ran up to [Name].

"So this is Trash. I found him in the dumpster. Just look at him, I couldn't leave him!" [Name] said as he held the raccoon up and Rin looked at the cute chunky animal.

"Next time just say you got a raccoon. I honestly was thinking you brought home another human and I was going to have a break down." Rin said with a sigh in his voice, [Name] giggling as he held the animal like a small child.

Rin wasn't about to admit it but he was jealous of the new house member

[Name] would be playing with Trash and Rin would just take the male away, wanting his attention.

Trash warmed up to Rindou quickly

He slept on his chest and [Name] loved it.

Akashi 'Sanzu' Haruchiyo [Kittens]

Warnings: None?

Sanzu was particular about many things and pets was one of them

He never had time for them growing up and never understood why people had them

To him it was just another being that couldn't take care of themselves and provided nothing

He never brought up the topic of pets but never entertained the conversation either if it came up.

So when he got a text from his boyfriend, stating that Senju was the one to blame,

He was a bit confused and worried, finishing what he was doing with his friends right away and going home.

Sanzu entered the house to see his sister and boyfriend sitting on the floor with boxes around them.

"So what did my sister convince you to get?" Sanzu asked first thing as he took his shoes off.

"Haru-Nii! I had no say in this-" Senju started but [Name] hit her shoulder

"Don't listen to her, she played mind games and convinced me-" [Name] started but Sanzu was soon greeted by the topic that was being avoided.

A tiny black and white kitten ran up to him and tried to climb up his leg. Soon there were two more kittens that went to him as well and rubbed against him and yelled at him.

"Kittens?" Sanzu spoke as he watched them rub against his ankles.

He gave in after a few minutes

They are adorable and he can't deny it

Since there was three, they all named one

Sanzu named the black and white one, 'Cow'

Senju named the mainly black with two white spots where her eye's were, 'Klepto'

Then [Name] named the orange one 'Taiyaki'

How would the harbingers react to MC having a puppy? I have a three month old puppy rn who will literally eat anything he can get his teeth on and there’s no stopping him, hair, clothes, shoes, you name it he’s probably tried to eat it

(I'm going to start grouping Harbingers when I get an ask like this because I spent way too much time on the other one I did)

It would be a mixture of disgust, adoration and disappointment.

"What do you mean you got the mutt a couple of days ago? We've been here since last week! When did you have time to get that thing?"

Disgusted Harbingers: Sandrone, Pantalone, Signora

Adoration: Childe, Columbina

Disappointment: Pierro, Arlecchino, Dottore, Scaramouche

Unbothered: Pulcinella, Capitano

The Disgusted folk would just stay away from it. What do you mean you won't get rid of it? Just look at the amount of bacteria it has! Dottore would agree, wouldn't he? Dog's mouths are as dirty as a humans? Bullshit! They'd ask the other Harbingers to dispose of it because they don't want to associate themselves with it. When they refuse, the disgusted have decided to just ignore the creature. Maybe when they're left alone with the puppy they'll hesitantly interact with it, but they'll scrub their hands raw after before putting their gloves back on.

The Adoration folk would love to see another bright life bounce around the house! Plus, wouldn't playing with the puppy make you happy? They would love to sit down with you and play with the puppy together! What's its name? How old is it? Where did you get it from? They'll ask questions upon questions and never leave you alone! They find it funny when you complain about the puppy destroying your clothes, furniture, and even carpet! You're the owner, you have to clean the mess, not them! Whilst you're begrudgingly fixing and cleaning, they'll take care of the puppy don't worry! They're in good hands... Just make sure you make it clear they're still more important in your eyes, otherwise you might find the puppy in a dangerous situation.

The Disappointed folk would be disappointed for different reasons. Some would feel you definitely aren't ready, nor have the responsibility for the puppy. Some would feel you're fucking crazy for adopting a dog in your situation. Some would even feel that you getting a puppy is a stupid idea, why would you get a dog so young? You can't even tell it when to leave a room! How would you train it? However, all the people in this category would agree on one thing: the puppy is annoying as hell. The damned creature keeps chewing on their clothes and running away with their delusions in its mouth! They'll warn you to control your pet otherwise they'll kick it out the house. They quickly change their mind when they realise they don't own this house and you have every right as the owner to kick them out yourself, even if you'd never actually do that since you're too afraid of them.

The Unbothered folk wouldn't care. They'd acknowledge it and then move on with their day. Sure, they'll take care of feeding the puppy for you, but after that don't talk to them about doing favours for you when it comes to your pet. It belongs to you, so it's your responsibility. Well, they say that but when the puppy falls asleep on them they don't move it away from them at all. They lightly pet the sleeping puppy, tired from all the playing and running it's done around the house. You'll definitely take pictures and use it against them.

Skeleton is walking in the street when he hears a small child cry in an alley. The kid then explained their mom asked them to stay here long hours ago but never returned, and finds out soon later trying to get them to talk that the kid got abandoned like some dog.

Undertale Sans - Sans is not sure what to do about this. He stays calm and manages to cheer the kid with a few puns, but now what. He sits with them and makes a few phone calls, first to Undyne, who says is coming right away, then to Toriel because he really needs to talk to someone about this and she's better at taking care of kids than he is. After Undyne heard what the kid had to say, the three of them decided to let Toriel bring the child home so they could eat, sleep and so they can decide what to do next. They never found the mother, so after a few months, Toriel ended up adopting them. Sans is their godfather.

Undertale Papyrus - He's horrified someone could have done this. They are barely three years old! He tries to have faith in humanity, but this doesn't help. First, he takes them in a fast food so they can eat, then he gently tries to gather information about their situation. The kid quickly feels comfortable around him and gives him all he needs to know to make a quick report to Undyne, so she can start looking for their mother. In the meantime, Papyrus brings the kid to his home. In two hours, he knows he's already too attached and can't do anything against it. He ends up being their legal guardian a few weeks later, then their father for good. It was not planned, but that happened.

Underswap Sans - He tries to stay professional and not freak out as he realizes that kid got abandoned. He brings them to the police station and manages to make them talk a bit. He can't take them in though, as he works too much. He just calls social services so they can take care of them. However, he won't stop tracking down their mother, and will actually find them. She refuses to hear anything at first, but eventually, Blue makes her realize what she did was terrible. That's okay to not have the strength to take care of a child, but there's another way to ask for help than dumping them in the street. Blue still takes news of the kid once in a while.

Underswap Papyrus - He's devastated and gets instantly attached. He brings the kid to his home and gives them food, and warm clothes, and then he calls Blue for help. Blue doesn't want him to keep the child, because he fears Honey will get too involved, but uh, that's too late for this, you know. While Blue investigate, Honey becomes like a father to the kid, and he's quite distressed when Blue finds the mother and the kid has to go back with them. Eventually, the law will turn to his favor and he will get to be the kid's legal guardian, as the mother decided to give up their parenthood rights completely.

Underfell Sans - Shit. He has no idea what to do??? Why do these things always happen to him? Red can't exactly go to the police station as they will immediately assume the monster did it, so what? Oh. In the evening, Edge opens a gift box in the living room. The kid is locked in, playing with a game console lol. Here you go, it's not Red's problem anymore.

Underfell Papyrus - Ouch, touchy subject as it hits too much from home. Edge used to be an abandoned kid in the street, after his father's death, barely surviving with Sans. There is no way he's letting that kid in the streets. He takes them home and tries to figure out what to do, while stress cooking to feed the child. It's technically a kidnapping, but if he goes to the police, they will immediately assume he is a kidnapper anyway. Hum. He's going to call Toriel. He doesn't like her, but if there's someone who can be convincing enough to be a legal guardian for the kid, it's her. Toriel is not pleased about his call, but calms down once he says he has a kid for her lol.

Horrortale Sans and Papyrus - "OAK YOU CAN'T BRING HOME RANDOM STRAY KIDS YOU FOUND OUTSIDE, THAT'S KIDNAPPING!" "but they're hungry" "YES, I CAN SEE THAT BUT WHAT ARE WE DOING NOW?" "keep it" "NO, WE CAN'T! THEY HAVE A MOTHER" "but bro, look at them..." "STOP GIVING ME THAT LOOK WE'RE NOT KIDNAPPING CHILDREN AGAIN. I MEAN NOT THAT WE KIDNAPPED CHILDREN BEFORE... UH... URGH. FINE. WE'RE KEEPING THEM." At least until Toriel comes to visit and realizes that's not their child and that no one knows they're here... After lecturing both of them, she's going to find a solution so the brother can be their legal guardian. They're too attached to let them go anyway...

Swapfell Sans - He tries not to let his heart talk too much but he knows the second the kid tells their mom didn't return for a few hours they give up on them. Funny, eh. Same thing happened to him. She just left him in Snowdin, and said she would come back (then got dusted on the way). Nox is badly triggered and a bit panicking, but he knows that kid only relies on him right now, he can't let them down. He brings them home and asks his network for information about their mother. They found nothing. Nox told himself the kid would only stay for a while, then it turned into months, then one day the kid called him dad and Nox never let them go again lol.

Swapfell Papyrus - He decides to wait with the kid a few hours because he refuses to believe their mother would just abandon them, but as night starts to fall, he has to admit it's true. Rus is disgusted and angry someone would ever do that. Now, he would be a terrible guardian for that kid, but fortunately he knows a couple who is desperately trying to adopt a child. Not three weeks later, the kid is adopted by Undyne and Alphys.

Fellswap Gold Sans - The hell you want him to do? He's no charity. He wants the kid to go cry to someone else, but, uh, everyone is staring and it's bad for his reputation if he does nothing. He picks the kid by their sweater's hood like some kitten and holds them with his arms outstretched to the nearest police station. He dumps the kid in the entrance to the nearest officer and he's out of here lol. Now he needs to be mean to his Karen neighbor so people don't think he's nice.

• They honestly did not trust you when they first met you since you acted like Sin Mal, who they did not have a pleasant time with so Bronya was very overprotective of Seele and would always stand in between you and her, Bronya was acting like a whole guard dog-

• Well, Veliona was also behaving like that too- Bronya and Veliona were just waiting for you to make any mistake so they could go off on you and eliminate you, Seele wanted to trust you and get to know you but she was scared so she just normally stayed behind the both of them

An Izzy lives AU where Stede and Ed have still left.

Izzy is working through his shit and living his best life totally against his will. Him and Fang connect in a way that is totally new for them. Which makes Izzy look back on their shared history together and, with new understanding, feels guilty.

So he gets him a guilt puppy!

The crew help him plan the surprise, and It's all very cute with Izzy hiding the dog in a barrel then telling Fang to fetch something from it for him.

But Fang struggles to get excited and starts to say no even as he cuddles into it. Izzy being dramatic, swears his sword to her like a knight from a fairy tale.

"Now will you keep the fucking dog now?" Izzy: kneeling down in front of a weeping Fang who's just frantically nodding.

(The crew are watching like "Did they just get engaged over a dog?")

They settle into a nice routine with the puppy and continue to bond even more over co-dog-parenting. Fang uses Izzy's promise to rope him into their care, Izzy is too smitten with both of them to put up an opposition.

Optional: Before they get together, the dog gets turned into a human (age depending on the author). They can talk and still remember things from being a dog (i,e knows Fizzy as their dads) and is still very much dog in mannerisms and personality. So now their just straight-up co-parenting a feral goblin of a child/person.

I think they would relate to Xiao in one way or another. He's aware of what his Karmic Debt can and will do to him now and in the future. He knows how much it would hurt the humans around him, which is why he stays away from fragile living things.

They would slowly bond together, just like a mother to their child, and put Xiao under their wing to take care of and train. Add plus points if goddess! reader could temporarily take away his karmic debt for, let's say 6 hours per day.

Just like Zhongli, Xiao has great respect for you. He will silence and kill those who dare curse your name, often looking from afar once you settle with Zhongli in Liyue as "mortals".

oh gosh yes definitely!!! there were some replies about this too under the dragon hatchling hc, and i love to imagine that xiao is basically (one of) reader's and zhongli's adopted kids lol

reader and xiao's relationship would be very wholesome. they connect on a spiritual level and understand each other's fears. speaking about karmic debt, it got me thinking... xiao got them because of all the demons he fought and defeated, right? and since reader in this case is the god of war themselves, surely there must be repercussions for taking so many lives over thousands of years?

perhaps there would be a certain time in a year - maybe on the seventh month (the hungry ghost festival irl), where it is said that the souls of the dead are free to roam the lands of teyvat. on one particular day, the spirits whom you have killed with your hands come back for vengeance in a form similar to xiao's karmic debt, and maybe it renders you severely weakened and vulnerable? just for that one day, it would be very easy for the god of war themselves to die in the hand of the other gods.

this is a secret you guard with your whole life, even from morax at first. he knows nothing of it even after years into the relationship - but with how close you both are, and how perceptive he is, he'll connect the dots and figure out a hypothesis in the end. he doesn't force you to talk, but he takes it upon himself to always place himself somewhere nearby. not enough to breach your privacy but close enough for you to call upon him if you need to.

and xiao notices, of course. he notices the pattern of your disappearance, sees the 'festival' celebrated by your people, sees the way zhongli always lingers near your abode, and the tenseness of his lord's posture. he remembers the way your eyes hold sympathy and the way your lips curl into a bitter smile when you see him struggle with his karmic debt for the first time. and xiao too, start to have a suspicion about what's going on.

tldr; starting then you have two protective guard dogs who would be more than ready to throw hands if they spot any sort of danger or threat that might endanger you at this time of the year.

anyway, yeah, xiao and reader. overall, very wholesome parent-child kind of dynamic. zhongli loves seeing you both get along. you're one of the few people who can make the adeptus smile. 15/10 in the wholesomeness scale.

ps. morax calls him "little one" / "young one" and you call him "child" and no one can change my mind. the nickname never fails to render xiao into a blushing mess, and whenever you start pampering him like two overly doting grandparents he feels himself dying inside. still, he visits your home regularly. just to check on you both <3

For your Ronal/Tonowari adopted!spider, I can only imagine how the Sullys react to the 'loss' of another... let's not call it son, they didn't earn that. They are still grieving and I can imagine it hitting Tuk even harder rhan Kiri bc I don't think Tuk would understand that it is what is best for Spider. Kiri I'm sure would be sad but happy that Spider is so cared for and loved. (1/2)

I totally agree, they would feel like they lost another one of their family, because to them spider was like a family dog to them, they cared about him, but he wasn't an equal.

jake - he'd feel guilty, but partly in denial. I think his neglect came partly on his focus on his "real" family, so he'd want to hide from it I think part of him did love spider, he got used to being around, and did want to keep him around; but spider was never his son, he has no intention of truly treating him like a son, and that realization hits him hard and fast. he would want to argue, but I don't think he'd have much to really say.

neytiri - I think to have it laid out in front of her how much harm she caused a child, human or not, especially by another na'vi who had suffered so greatly at the sky peoples hands, would make her feel kinda bad. I think neytiri had a sort of dissconenect when it came to spider, she couldn't see a child, or a victim, she only saw his human body and it got in the way of everything else. she is pissed ronal put her down like that, and hurt on behalf of her children because she knows they're losing another brother, but deep within her, she's so relieved; it wasn't fair to either of them, they both hurt in eachothers presence. I also think spite would make her sort of against it, but at the end of the day, she knows that spider going with ronal is better for them all.

lo'ak - I agree that losing spider right after neteyam would probably make him flip out just a little, even if only in his head, cause he can't lose anyone else. he never really noticed the difference between himself and spider so I think he would be angry as well, angry that spider was leaving 'over nothing'. but I think as he grieve's and recover's as much as one can recover from that he starts to really notice how much happier spider is, not necessarily in the way that he's moved on from neteyam, but in the way that he looks healthier, less empty. he see's displays of affection between spider and his new adopted family he never saw spider receive before, and realizes that they were different, no matter how his mom and dad treated him, he had more then spider. I think their will always be a bitter ache in lo'ak after losing both his brothers so close together, but I think he'd come to realize its for the better. plus, its not like he never sees him again, like they're not brothers, its just a little different now.

tuk - tuk would be heartbroken. I know from the perspective of being a little kid and losing someone like this, you always find a way to twist it that you are to blame. she would think that somehow she's at least part of the reasons spider is leaving, and even when she's convinced otherwise, she still doesn't understand why he has to go, why they can't be family anymore. she makes sure to visit him everyday, and always asks him to come home before she leaves. both of them are broken over it. he can't bring himself to say anything against jake or neytrir, she doesn't need to know how they treated him, she doesn't need to understand, she's still young and innocent; but by not explaining, her little mind comes to every possible conclusion, and most of them are more painful then the truth.

kiri - she understands, though not nearly as badly, the disconnect between her and her adoptive parents. she saw the difference between her and spider, between them two and the 'real' sully's. life was complicated, feelings and love and family was complicated, she didn't necessarily blame her parents, nor spider, but she was saddened by the turn of events. she was angry, and anger weighed her down like a stone; she was angry that her parents never gave spider the love he deserved, mad that spider was leaving for another family after all they went through together, mad that everything was falling apart. but like lo'ak she saw how much happier spider was and couldn't hold it against him, he deserved this, he shouldn't suffer the fate of being loved like a pet and not a son.

I think everyone would be feeling all the feelings very quickly and it would be rough, but its better then they could all hope for. tonowari mediates, doesn't let ronal get too angry, keeps the peace as the kids meet in the middle of the conflict, and makes sure spider is always doing the best he can amongst the chaos.
