i was about to rb this really pretty shb art and then remembered i'm trying to avoid rbing spoilers <//3 anyways i love shb sm. love that it's an mmorpg but shb is literally one of the best jrpg experiences i (and many others) have had

Don't mind me, just have trolls brain rot. Here are some of my headcanons

Jd and Floyd are both left handed, clay is right handed, Bruce and Branch could either way for me.

Clay was an absolutely FERAL child. No filter, bad ideas left and right, a little chaos gremlin. Boy should have been put on a leash.

Clay was also a creepy kid. Hed stare into JD and Bruce's souls in the middle of the night.

It probably goes without saying but Floyd was a crybaby. Especially when he was a baby.

Jd knows how to do magic tricks. It was a dumb skill that he learned to entertain his lil bros. But when they got older they started to think it was lame so he stopped. He still uses it when he encountered a kid on his travels

Clay once pulled one of Floyd's baby teeth out to get the quarter that the tooth fairy would leave

Until the band broke up, JD was the only one who knew how to cook.

Clay is great at math (thus why he's a CPA). So when they were still in school, Bruce and JD tried to get clay to do their math hw for them.

There were times when JD and Bruce ganged up on the younger ones and told them lies. Some of which being: they have a long lost brother, anything to do with Santa,the tooth fairy, or monsters and that you can buy babies from a special store (clay was on sale)

Johns go to greeting now that they're older is a smack on the butt for his bros

John still tries to pick up his brothers despite the fact that they are grown ass adults. Floyd's the easiest to pick up, then Branch then clay then Bruce.

Before branch, Floyd was closest to john

Jd and Bruce knew Floyd was gay before Floyd knew he was gay. They made jokes about it that went over the younger twos heads

When Floyd got into makeup, he looked like every little girl who got into her mom's makeup. Bruce caught him and helped him out the best he could despite the fact he had no idea what he was doing

Clay and Floyd also ganged up on the older two. Pranks and generally annoying younger sibling stuff.

Brandy is an only child, Bruce is not. So when their kids do something that their father did as a child, he knows what's up. Example: one or more of them put on a "show" to distract their parents while the others steal cookies out of the cookie jar. Bruce immediately knew something was up and called them out on it

Normally I'd agree many Final Fantasy games have rather young protagonists. It's because they're usually single-player JRPGs made with the assumption of younger players, and like most Young Adult media, create characters that cater to that, even if it ends up with teens running the world and fighting in wars. And for many players, the first time playing these games is in childhood/adolescence/very young adulthood. So it's YA anime.

Final Fantasy XIV does not fall into that same mold, despite the "Teen" rating for legal and distribution purposes.

The majority of the FF14 cast, including the bulk of the main characters, are between 20 and 40 years old (the Scion Archons, Ishgard Elf Husbands). Many other characters are between 40 and 80 (Ishgard's Counts are all late middle aged to elder dads/grandpas, Gaius is mid 50s, Jehantel and Ran'jit are elderly, all still active). The younger characters (especially with any authority or special position) like the Leveilleur twins, are actually outliers. And the youth of the characters between 16 and 20 years old tends to be plot relevant, where that inexperience and naivety causes problems and drives story (Nanamo's arc at the end of ARR into HW, Alphinaud and the Crystal Braves, Ryne's determination of self in ShB, etc).

Characters have a variety of appearances; some characters in the same age ranges look very different. Varis is only 4 years older than X'rhun but Varis's model shows the stress and disagreeableness of his life a lot more than the RDM trainer's. Cid's in his mid-30s but with the beard looks older--and without it he has a baby face (hair color doesn't matter, cuz they do keep the anime trope of "everyone's got white or silver hair"). Lalafell are designed to be anime-cute halflings so it's hard to tell their adult ages even if they've got facial hair like grandfatherly Papashan. The pad'jal of course look like kids, but the youngest main pad'jal is A-Ruhn in his late teens; all the others are adults stuck in adolescent bodies. E-Sumi is a few hundred years old. Kan-E uses various methods to look older so other leaders and people from outside Gridania will take her seriously as an adult. The padjal introduced in the StB WHM quests is a child, and that's the plot; she's not in charge of anything, or has any particularly advanced-for-her-age skills. She's just a kid having a really rough time.

This inability to determine age by looking and assuming isn't just due to limits of the game engine and character creation options; it reflects real life. I met my work team for the first time in person recently; one person looked older than I know them to be, thanks to months of stress and health issues. While all of them were shocked to remember I'm in my 40s as according to them, I "look much younger". Most people are actually pretty bad at guesstimating ages based on appearance, due to the variety of folks' lives.

Speaking of kid characters, many of the children we interact with, like the Doman Adventurers, are between 12 and 14 and act much younger. Khloe has this going on too, with her age "corrected" to 13 (when previously listed as 10), but she acts way younger to me. Most of the actual child characters are treated like children, and it's not until they get to 14-16 (Honoroit, Leveva) that we start to see them treated like maturing adolescents and having some rsponsibilities, but still young and prone to the kind of choices one expects of less experienced and more emotional youth.

As a MMO, FF14's primary audience is actually adults; teens do play the game, but also age up with it if they keep playing. If a 15 year old began playing with ARR's release, they're in their mid-20s now. Having a primarily adult cast, and treating child characters like children, and adolescents like young people figuring out how young adulthood works, makes sense for this game.

FF14's time bubble is also part of the issue; a developer tool to keep it so they don't have to worry too much about character ages, new models so often, or how long things take in game. Timelines are then intentionally left malleable for the players' benefits, to create our own stories and determine how long things take for our WoLs and their tales. Some folks have their stories pass in real time, some compress it to a year per expac, some expand it out even longer. So the ages the characters have listed in the lorebooks and rarely in game (which is then reflected in online resources), is a starting baseline. Personal headcanons as always should be applied (including changing around some character ages to fit one's own story if necessary).

Also, FF16, made by the same team, has a brief prologue/tutorial section where the main trio is between 10 and 15, guided/trained by adult characters, experience the inciting incident trauma--and then we spend the majority of the game with the main cast in their 20s and 30s. The game also has a mature rating, featuring some sexual situations, lots of violence, and stronger language than other FF games. It's made for adults, and its cast reflects that.

So it is a matter of audience expectations; for a MMO, you're going to have an older and aging player base, and the varied ages of the cast reflect that, as do their varied appearances and experiences as adults. The young characters are treated closer to how their youth should be; still with respect for those in positions like Nanamo, but also prone to errors due to inexperience that drive story. In other FF titles, which were made to be more YA-focused, a teen and young 20s cast were treated much differently. But even in the single-player FF titles, if they are made with adult players in mind, their cast and stories likewise reflect that.

“Reg, can you just focus on the assignment! We have to get it done because McGonagall will murder us if it’s not done today, we already got an extra week!” She says annoyed and he rolls his eyes.

“Merlins balls, I really regret partnering up with you out of all people.” She grumbled, folding her arms over each other. “Should’ve just chosen Evan.” She mumbled, but he heard and he couldn’t help but grit his teeth and silently curse the blonde boy.

“Oh, of course, Evan would be a much better pick then ‘always starting fights Regulus Black’ maybe he would just rip the work in half in a fit of rage, or curse at you for doing something wrong!” He started another kind of fight and her head snapped towards him.

“Hey! Evan wouldn’t do that! What is wrong with you?” She took multiple steps his way and he stayed rooted in his place.

This smirk didn’t go unnoticed by Regulus and he squeezed her wrist bit. “Maybe I would’ve been better of doing the project with Marcella.” He snarled and her eyes traveled towards his and he saw the storm raging in them.

If there was someone is Slytherin house Y/n hated, it was Marcella, always one upping people, a huge pick me, and she was always over Regulus, talking to him, hugging him almost sitting on his lap.

She knew he was trying to make her jealous, and for Merlin’s sake, it worked.

ty for the ask! i'm not a law student, so this is gonna be more general uni advice that i hope can apply for you. best of luck in your journey, you're gonna do amazing things!!

step no. 1: plan, plan, plan!

for me, being organized & prepping ahead of time has been so helpful. even if things get a bit hectic or tough, having a routine to fall back on is key. here's how i do it!

google calendar

as soon as i have my class schedule, i input all my class meeting times on google calendar. then, based on whatever free space is left over, i allocate time for schoolwork and studying. here's the schedule i designed for this upcoming term:

make sure your study/ classwork time accounts for whatever online courses you're taking too. you should also include blocks for work, club meetings, etc. if they're recurring. i have google calendar linked to my phone so i get notifs for each time block.

planner

i recommend having a good planner. whether this is online or physical, depending on your preference, a weekly planner of your own is helpful for staying on top of work & having peace of mind.

the planner i use is the moleskine weekly planner. here is what it looks like inside:

on the left side i write all the tasks i have on each weekday (similar to the google calendar). on the right side, i list all the tasks i have to complete during that given week - i open the syllabi for all my classes and input whatever hw, assignments, projects, etc. are upcoming. i write them down in a checklist along with the date they're due. then, during my study blocks, i can check this page & decide what to work on!

note-taking & classwork

you should also have supplies for note-taking. some ppl prefer to take digital notes, so this means using your laptop or a tablet & stylus. personally, i like to take handwritten notes, so i bring loose-leaf lined paper & pencils to my lectures. i write the class name & date as the header for each page. when i'm done taking notes, i write the key topics in the top left-hand corner of the pager (in "no-man's land") so i can easily find the notes on specific topics when i'm flipping through them.

in terms of classwork, i recommend having a folder for each of your classes where you can store notes, assignments, tests, etc. i know some people use one big binder for all classes, but if you have a separate folder for each, you don't have to carry them all around on days when you only have two or three classes. i like the brand five star bc the folders are very durable and i've had the same ones all throughout uni!

for me, i've never been a huge notebook person b/c i like to keep my subjects separate so i rarely fill up an entire notebook. you can buy one to start with, and see once school starts if you think you need more!

other supplies

in terms of supplies, i'm honestly pretty minimalistic. the necessities for me are my planner, a folder & loose-leaf paper, and a pencil pouch with plenty of pens & pencils. i also bring my laptop & charger with me to school bc i use that for my online classes.

i do enjoy having cute supplies! i have a cute pink pencil pouch, glittery mechanical pencils, and fun pens. i also put stickers all over my laptop to give it a personal touch. i did a bit of embroidery on my backpack as well. you don't need to spend tons of money on aesthetic supplies, especially if it's something you won't have for long. but, finding simple ways to add a personal touch to your items can be fun & motivating!

step no. 2: make an action plan

i feel like it's easy to tell yourself you wanna do certain things or be a certain person during school. for example, i always want to be super studious, outgoing, & involved, but i used to struggle sm to actually do that. instead of only thinking of how you want to be, create actual steps/ tasks for yourself. here are my action items for inspo:

sit in the front row of every class - this can be daunting, but in my uni experience, wherever you sit in the first week becomes your (un)official assigned seat. get to class early, take a deep breath, and sit yourself down at the front! you'll be forcing yourself to stay at the front, but i promise it's fine! i really prefer this b/c if you & the prof get to class early you can chat a bit. also, when i wanna participate, i can speak at my regular volume & they'll hear me (rather than if i'm in the back row and had to scream). if nothing else, you'll become a familiar face!

attend office hours for each class at least once - i sometimes felt nervous/ anxious to go to office hours and talk to the professors & ta. but when you do it once, you realize they truly just want to help! getting to know the ppl who grade your assignments can be super useful. they might give you advice or info you don't get in lectures. plus, they are super knowledgeable!

raise your hand once per week - this forces you to be engaged with the content. i used to have such horrible social anxiety & the thought of speaking up in class & getting an answer wrong was my worst nightmare. and when i set this rule & began forcing myself to participate, i did make mistakes. but guess what... everyone moves on immediately. you might feel like the world is ending. it haunted me for weeks after 😢 but no one else cares! in the end, ppl will only remember that you were confident enough to raise your hand & speak up, not what you said. pls don't let your education suffer just b/c you're afraid some classmates might judge you! if raising your hand to answer problems is too daunting, start with asking clarifying questions & slowly build up to whatever you're able to do.

start a conversation with a classmate - having classmates that you're friendly with is so important. if you miss a lecture, need help on a concept, etc. you'll have someone you can turn to. and that's the least of it - you can end up making long-lasting friends! yes, it's scary to talk to a stranger. so, force yourself to do it as early as possible in the semester. an easy one - if you see someone sitting by an empty seat, ask if that seat is taken. if not, yay! it's go time 😊 sit by them and find something else to talk about - give them a (genuine & non-creepy) compliment, ask them if they've seen the syllabus, ask if they know the prof, etc. just something to get the convo started!! figure out their name, major, and other stuff too. once you've talked with them long enough to feel like you're getting along (whether that's after one class or multiple) ask for their number/ discord/ whatever so you can keep in touch! if they share your major, you should keep in contact with them b/c you might have other classes together in the future. but, again, in the best-case scenario, you have a new friend!

wear a cute outfit once per week - sometimes i would get a bit embarrassed or self-conscious to dress up for class. i forced myself to do it once per week, starting the first week of class, to set a precedent for myself. slowly i eased my way into wearing cute, fun outfits every day! no one is judging you as much as you are judging yourself, so have fun & be true to you.

step no. 3: study smarter, not harder

attending class is one thing, but you've got to put in the effort to study if you truly want to succeed. but, not all study methods will work for every single person. figure out how to study so you don't waste time with methods that don't work for you.

determine your learning style(s)

there are a few widely accepted learning styles. you've probably tried all of them throughout your time at school, so think back on which learning experiences have been most and least successful for you. then, connect them back to these learning styles to figure out ways you can most effectively study.

visual:  if you learn by seeing info visually, such as with maps, graphs, diagrams, charts, etc.

auditory: if you learn by getting info in auditory form, aka when it's heard or spoken

kinesthetic: aka hands-on, if you learn by doing & applying

reading/writing: if you learn info best when it’s in words, aka by writing it down or reading it

you might find that multiple of these learning styles are effective for you, maybe there's one that sticks out as the most similar to your style of learning, or maybe one that just doesn't work for you. now, you don't need to assign yourself one and forego the rest, but you can adjust the time you spend on various study methods based on how well they work for you.

for me, i've realized over time that i am NOT a reading learner. in high school i would diligently read all the textbook assignments, spending hours getting through the chapters, only to retain none of it & do poorly on assignments & tests.

on the other hand, i respond really well to kinesthetic learning - when applying concepts hands-on, such as with practice problems, i have a much better understanding of concepts & retention.

fast forward to college - i spend very little time on assigned readings. in fact, sometimes i skip them all together 🫢 b/c if i spend an hour reading the textbook but retain none of it, that's an hour wasted. especially if the content from the textbook is going to line up with the lecture, i'm much better off paying attention & taking good notes in class, and then spending my study time doing practice problems. if i really do need to read the textbook, i have to make it interactive for myself - i answer the questions at the end of the chapter, take notes, quiz myself, etc.

now, my advice here isn't to skip textbook readings!! that's not something i recommend b/c for so many people, it IS effective and helpful! when it comes to studying, play on your strengths. don't try to force yourself to learn in a way that doesn't work for your brain. make modifications & prioritize your learning! here is an awesome guide to different methods that work for the various learning styles.

find your ideal study environment

you can also maximize the effectiveness of your studying based on the environment you're in. if you can decide what factors help or hinder your studying abilities, it will help you decide where you should make your go-to study spot!

at home or in public? sometimes, studying in a public place can be unproductive. it might make you feel more stressed (like the sensation of having your teacher look over your shoulder during a test 🫣) or distracted. for me, studying in public is actually useful b/c i'm less likely to get disctracted. if i'm in my room i might get tempted to open up tumblr or pinterest, but in public i feel like ppl might see me get off topic which deters me LOL. however, studying at home is nice b/c you're in the comfort of your own personal space - you can change into pjs, cuddle your pet, grab a snack, etc. i do a mix of studying in public & at home b/c i feel like they both have their benefits

quiet or noisy? do you study better in a silent environment, or do you like some sound/ white noise? personally, i cannot deal with ANY noise when i'm trying to study, it totally breaks my focus 😭but some people like the ambient/ white noise of a coffee shop

music or silence? similar to the last one, does having music help you stay focused, or distract you? i know ppl will swear by different things - classical music, upbeat music, songs in different languages, etc. again, i personally cannot handle any sounds 😅 but if music keeps you alert, plan accordingly - have earbuds or go to a coffee shop that has a playlist going

nature or indoors? maybe you find it stuffy to be indoors all day & studying out in the open air helps you stay grounded and calm. on the flipside, being exposed to the elements might just make you more distracted. if you like studying outdoors, try public parks with benches, and also see if your campus has outdoor seating areas. some libraries do too. for a happy medium, you can study someplace with large windows/ nice view.

independent or collaborative? do you study better on your own or in groups? you can join a study group or go to office hours to get a sense of studying in a group setting vs. alone. group studying can help hold you accountable, make it more interactive, and keep you focused. that being said, i def prefer studying independently. i like to go at my own pace, and tbh i get easily distracted w/ others and will begin to just chit chat

based on how you answer those questions, you can decide what your ideal study environment is & pick a go-to place! for me, based on my preferences, my most effective study environment going to the library alone or studying in my room.

that's all for this post! i feel it got very long but i had so many tips to share. there's no "one size fits all" guide to navigating uni life. but i think everyone can benefit from prepping in advance & being mentally prepared. knowing your own strengths + having a plan of attack will guide you in stressful/ uncertain times!

overall, take the time to get to know yourself & figure out how you can be at your very best. apply whichever bits of advice resonate, and ignore anything that's not gonna serve you. this is YOUR journey!

Here are some of my favorites -- I tried to pick ones that I haven't seen mentioned in recent lists that have been in my tumblr stream. Whether they're new to you, or just a reminder to re-visit faves, enjoy!!! ❄️ [In order of the year they were published.] ........................................................... 1. I'm Not His Date [2014] by objetpetita [ 17,029 words / T ] :: It all starts in a Boston coffee shop, where English professor Sherlock Holmes upends a visiting John Watson in a clever and fun "meet cute" (or "meet irritating-pompous-insufferable") in a whirlwind of Sherlockian proportions, and we're off to the races. There is a snowfight on the Common, Death Driving Miss Daisy: Lacan and Popular Culture, a Harry & Clara Christmas Eve wedding, witches, and a very boozy department party. It's as adorable as my favorite Christmas rom-com film, The Holiday. And it starts off with a corker of a first sentence: "It was morning, it was zero bloody degrees, everything around him was unfamiliar and American and cold, and John Watson was right on that inhuman precipice between still drunk and terribly hung over."

2. 5,687 (Approximately) [2015] by prettysailorsoldier [ 6,771 words / T ] :: Just a few years post-uni, Sherlock is enduring the agonies of a long-distance relationship with his boyfriend, who is on deployment in Afghanistan. During those times when John's on leave, the last people Sherlock wants to see are the idiots at the Met, so they've never caught sight of John and think he is a figment of Sherlock's imagination -- especially since he can't get home that Christmas. The set-up is sketched out with delightful fic flair, and the ending is not only sweet, but satisfyingly punitive [ c/o a very bamf John ]. The text messaging is some of my favorite writing in the Sherlock fandom -- their relationship in all of its multi-dimensionality comes through beautifully.

3. The 12 Truths of Christmas [2016] by @breath4soul [ 3,321 words / T ] :: This is a fic that has at its core the surfacing of unspoken emotional attraction betweenJohn and Sherlock via a very fun concept: “In place of some appalling or imbecilic gift inflicted upon me in the name of tradition on Christmas day, I propose that you provide me with one previously unknown fact about you for each day leading up to Christmas. 12 in total, John.” #9 has all the feels, and is a tour de force -- every time I re-read it it makes me break out in a smile, even though I know what's coming. Sherlock breaks out somewhat more: "Sherlock feels a flood of heat in several places at once. He stands up quickly and walks to his violin. He plays wild, erratic snaps of quick-paced music." The author has a whimsical and entirely understandable note to add: "You may fall in love with John reading this - I did." 4. The Romance Was There [2017] by @apliddell [ 4,011 words / G ] :: The author deserves an award for this being one of the best uses of Harry Watson in a fic, and of HW by Sherlock in a fic :-) 221B has never been cozier, Sherlock has never been more winsome, and John is a species type model of John in all of his clueless Johnness. The narrative dances along and sparkles and shines as seduction evolves, and Sherlock's rogueish charm is on full display. There's a poignant and endearing confessional letter, plus there's a Sherlock/Jeremy Brett reference that is absolute perfection in serving its role in helping the narrative quickstep the night away. 5. The Man in Aisle Ten [2020] by @blogstandbygo [ 1395 words / G ] :: Sherlock has several mysteries to unravel in the midst of Harrod's on Christmas Eve: what is the perfect gift for John? why is he having so much trouble identifying the perfect gift for John? and, incidentally, along the way to solving those, a local one. Luckily, Sherlock has Moira, master department store sleuth, to lead him to the solution. This fic is a small, perfect gift -- rather like the story's denouement --and is as witty as all of SBG's fics are. This is a veritable Peppermint Schnapps Hot Chocolate of a fic, warm, rich, sweet, delicious, tingly, and you'll find you reach the last bit much too fast, immediately requiring a refill. [ And there's a splendid podfic by @podfixx ! ]

he wouldn’t leave you alone, he refuses to. any time he sees you he's dropping whatever it is he's doing, ignoring whoever he may be having a conversation with, to go talk to you instead. you can shy away from him or run away from him as much as you want, you can even try to tell him to leave you alone outright, but mikey will still get all up in your space. he’ll talk to you, pester you to answer him and get super whiney and pouty if you don’t, he’ll follow you around and cling to you.

but mikey isn't a patient person at all, and he can only take so much of things not going his way. if you keep ignoring him even after so long of him being around, then he’ll just resort to cornering you and forcing you tell him why the hell you're being like this. why won't you just fucking talk to him. he knows you're not just busy or too tired, he wants the real reason, and you better give it to him or else he'll flip. honestly, he's so pushy about it that it might cause you to have a little break down wherever he corners you. you'll sob and tell him through hiccups that he just scares you, you're scared to talk to people in general, but him most of all 'cause he's loud and attracts a lot of attention everywhere he goes, which you don't like in the least bit. you don’t like attention and you don’t like loud things. you just want to be left alone.

that still doesn't stop him from bothering you though, but he will change his approach because he does care about your comfort. he quiets down for you, talks in a gentle voice that's soothing enough for you to ease up at least a little bit whenever he's around. he also always tries to be with you alone, tells his friends and pretty much everyone else not to fuck with you or else he's gonna have a fucking problem with them, and he's not afraid to start a fight with anyone that doesn't listen to him for fuck whatever reason. he goes so far as to get in your classmates face even if they're just asking for help on the hw or for a pencil. mikey will not let anyone talk to you. he gets so riled up about you that can’t help but beat the shit out of anyone that gets too close, for both the reason that you're socially anxious and because he likes having you all to himself. mikey loves having you to himself.

mikey doesn't think that your discomfort applies with him, he doesn't get that it's not just the attention that he gets that makes you feel overwhelmed, it's the attention he gives you too. and he he gives you a shit ton of attention. he doesn't shy away from calling you cute nicknames, he doesn't shy away from telling you how fucking cute he thinks you are, doesn't gonna shy away from sprawling himself all over you, wrapping his arms around you, putting his chin on your shoulder, lay down in your lap, being as touchy with you as you'll allow him to be without breaking down. mikey might even steal a few kisses from you here and there. he can't keep his hands to himself, and he just has to be touching you, even if you tell him that you don't want to be touched at the moment.

so yeah! mikey is clingy as fuck regardless of if his darling is socially anxious or not.

baji : we all know baji won't leave you alone, and we know he also won't get it right away that you're socially anxious, but he does get it faster than mikey does. baji though, unlike mikey, doesn't mind that you don't want to talk to him. as long as he gets to be near you, he's fine. he would like to at least touch you too, sp he might get a little grumpy if you're having one of those day where you just don't wanna talk and don't wanna be touched either, but he won't be like mikey and throw a fit about it.

baji will always wanna be around you. he'll follow you everywhere, pick you up and walks you to school, walk you to your classes and sometimes he'll sit in your class with you if he's feeling particularly attached to you, he'll eat lunch with you and stays with you during your clubs (if you have any), then he'll walk you home. sometimes he even invites himself in and stays over too just cause he loves being around you, and he loves getting to cuddle with you while you sleep. if you have plans on the weekend and baji finds out, he wants to go too. he calls you and facetimes you, texts you, everything. baji just will not let you breathe even for a second, he has to know what you're doing and where you are at all times because he likes knowing if you're okay. and if you're not, then he already knows what's up and he can get there to take care of it for you.

he gets super super protective of you once he realizes you have social anxiety, i mean he was before, but he just becomes so intune with you and what you need that you won't even have to tell him. he knows when something is wrong with you, and he immediately takes care of it. a person is getting too close to you? baji is all up in their space growling at them to back the fuck off or else he'll start throwing fists (if he has the patience for that, which most of the time he won't). you're getting tired and your social batter is draining? baji will just hold you in his arms and do everything for you, or he'll just take you home so you can rest. he always orders for you at restaurants and does all the talking around new, unfamiliar people. he's just- he knows you so well because your comfort is his priority, and he has to know all the things you don't like and all of your little ques so he can get to work on making you comfortable again.

honestly with how protective of you he is, you can probably use him as a scary dog because he keeps people away from you, even when you don't outright ask him to. he growls and glares, wraps his arms around you and keeps you in a protective hold so people don't just drag you away from him and into a situation you don't wanna be in. baji can honestly get scary for other people when you are involved, and you don't wanna be. he really does take your social anxiety seriously and he will learn quickly exactly how to comfort you on your really bad days.

wakasa : of the three of them, waka is the only one that understands you have social anxiety right way, and he at least tries to approach you comfortably from the start, give you some space to not overwhelm you so much, talk with you in a way that doesn't make you feel trapped by a conversation, that stuff. but the thing about waka is that he makes it clear that he's not going anywhere even when he's not physically there with you.

not for a second will he let you think that he'll leave you alone after a while because that's never gonna happen babes. part of the reason he does this is because he just wants to speed up how comfortable you are with him by familiarizing you with his presence, but the other reason is because he doesn't want you to think he's only here to mess around with you. he is a playboy, so he knows that it would be too easy for you to think he just wants to fuck and then be done with it, but that's not the case so he's gonna make sure you know he's gonna stay with you even if he does get you in his bed (which he will eventually, trust).

waka will text you at all hours of the day to check in with you, ask how you are and if you need him to come pick you up because you're having bad anxiety or for whatever other reason. he'll come over to where you live and hang out, then when he leaves, he'll make sure to tell you he'll be back either later that night or in the next few days. he'll ask you on dates all the time or to come over to his place just to spend time with you, and he won't make any moves on you, aside from maybe kissing you and calling you little nicknames like angel, baby, sweetheart (but he does that anyway so). waka just makes sure you understand he wants you for mor than sex and that he's not going anywhere.

once you're comfortable with him he starts to get a bit more invasive to your space. he'll give you kisses more often, pull you into him, hold your hand in public, all that good stuff. but waka will also be very reassuring with you and make sure that you're comfortable, and if you aren't, then he's gonna fix that. if you wanna go home, he'll take you home, if you don't wanna talk, then he won't make you, nor will he let anyone else make you. waka will wrap a protective arm around you and nuzzle you into his shoulder while growling and telling someone to fuck off if they bother you. he just gets very attentive and protective of you.

buttt, i think that waka would use your social anxiety to make you more dependant on him. he'll encourage you, tell you that you only need to talk to him, only stay close to him, nobody eles matters if he's already here for you. and honestly, you're easily swayed because you think he's helping you with your anxiety when really, he's just enforcing it and making you depend on him because of it. waka will make it so you can’t function around other people without him, maybe even take it so far that you freak out if he’s not with you whenever other people are around, and only will you be calmed if you can get to him, which he’ll let you cling to him, and he will absolutely bask in the way you need him so desperately. he loves it when his cute little darling depends on him.

Just a quick heads up, I feel like my high school experience was probably a bit different than most people's, because I took a health/medical career center. Basically, I only had three core classes at the end of the day with the morning ones all being taken up by my health/medical class. So, because I am basing this off of my experience (due to it being all I know), it might be a bit strange to most who didn't take a career center!

📖 You better hope that they don't find any of your anatomy or biology homework or textbooks. The thought of them asking absolutely ANYTHING involving those topics is humiliating on its own! You don't want to end up explaining the human body to a small little puppet. Or big dog puppet. Or ANY puppet!

📖 Once, Wally had asked you what "these" were while pointing to a picture in your medical book that showed the organ systems. When you explained, halfheartedly, about how they kept you alive and were inside of your body, his pupils just dilated. 📖 Frank will be interested in your science books, especially if they include stuff about ecosystems. He knows butterflies are in there, somewhere, because some of the pictures include them. Mostly very low on some big chain. When you explain about how that is a food chain, you are shocked to see him cry for the first time about how his butterflies are being eaten. Apparently the books in Welcome Home never told him that. Then again, the show never included any animals besides insects and the animal neighbors as far as you remember.

📖 Sally wants to know more about this "Shakespeare" guy your English class keeps talking about. He made plays, right? He must be a pretty swell guy! Can she meet him? Oh! And can you teach her more about the planets and solar system?

📖 Basically, every neighbor will have a specific subject they show interest in. Sally, Barnaby, and Eddie will love English. Howdy would like math, simply because he has no idea how this "money stuff" works or why it is so important. Poppy and Julie will like home economics, Poppy for the food science and Julie for the clothing. Home would also like home economics because they are literally a Home. Frank likes science, specifically for the animals and butterflies. Wally would love anatomy and any medical classes because he wants to learn more about YOU.

SYNCED and whbagjjg i miss doing content like that synced in df bcs other than content being less Yeah after a new expac, materia is still. small </3 it’s all either people catching up still or those at endgame T_____T

In Darling's defense, Italian-American Italian and actual European Italian is so different in terms of pronunciation lmao. Like you go to Italy and ask for a cannoli, they're giving you multiples because in Italian, cannoli is the pural for the dessert. Cannolo is the singular, but in Italian-American Italian it's different: cannoli is singular and cannolis is plural.

As a member of the Pizza Pasta Force I can tell you that the episode of The Sopranos where the gang goes to Italy and Paulie cannot speak or understand any more than like 20% of any conversation in Italian is pretty spot on. My Zia studied Italian at college in Italy so she was fine, but my dad gave up and just started speaking Spanish in an Italian accent and it somehow fucking worked better than him trying to actually speak Italian to locals

So Roman would probably give up and decide the best way to learn is the way most people in his community learn--surrounding yourself with the neighborhood nonnas all the time. They'll teach you to cook and you'll get free lessons because they refuse to speak English unless they have to like with the cops or something...though to be fair, they only use three words with them and then refuse to say anything else: "No warrant? Go."

It warms my heart that T and Z have such strong support around them both individually and as a couple. Like, Z has her parents and siblings who protected her fiercely growing up, she has the most loyal friend in Darnell, Law who took care of her from the start, etc. And T has his family who allowed him to spread his wings and gave him a safe, quiet place to come home to, Tuwaine and Harrison who gave him stability and familiarity at a time when things were changing so quickly and drastically for him, etc.

Not to mention the hoardes of people they've worked with who protected their secret during 1.0 (not looking at you, skai jackson's mom), and the people who only ever have good things to say about them. It's just nice to see good people have other good people around them, especially knowing how easy it is to go astray in the industry they're in, especially as former child actors.

Yeah and I actually think that support system also helped them being the way they are in that HW industry, so glad they found each other too
