Reasons I despise Shadow and Bone

• Inej Ghafa in the books was an SA survivor and a girl who despite all that she went through, held hope close to her chest. Book Inej was so scared of the menagerie, she couldn't walk past it without the fear of being recaptured. She finally moved on from this fear when she choked Heleen at the Ice Court, stole her diamond choker and ran, calling her silks feathers. And finally believing that she was free after facing her fear, her abuser head on. So seeing the show Inej casually walk into the menagerie as well as merely shrugging upon hearing of Heleen's death this season, was not just extremely ooc but disrespectful and had zero depth.

• Kaz Brekker's disability was basically neglected this entire season and his cane treated like an accessory. Not only that they butchered the entire Kaz-Nikolai meeting in CK. Kaz would've immediately recognized Nikolai, like that was such a downgrade. Not to mention Nikolai threatening Kaz (and Jesper). Kaz wouldn't be threatened. Instead he'd make negotiations with Nikolai on his terms. Oh and most importantly, his entire backstory was rushed and played off like it was nothing serious. That intensity of two innocent small-town boys being tricked by an adult with agency and power, I couldn't feel it as much as I felt reading the books.

• Jesper Fahey's backstory is very emotional and beautiful. The memories with his mother and his coversations later on with his father, all lead up to him slowly accepting his grisha side more and embracing it. Embracing being a zowa. The show speed-ran through it and well, it lost its depth.

More importantly none of the backstory material makes much sense and lacks so much depth because there was nothing that lead to that development. The books, whatever transpires in SoC is what leads to and triggers their individual character developments. So any backstories stuffed in the show made no sense.

• Nina Zenik's bisexuality is completely erased by the show. Its like netflix is allergic to sapphics 😭

• Now Kanej! We got so much Kanej content we should be happy right? I agree. The scenes did give me a momentary high because those are some of my favorite parts of the books and its a blessing to be able to see them adapted on screen. Except, none of those scenes made sense, especially since season 1 barely hinted about some chemistry between the two and then season suddenly escalated all that slow burn into significant moments badly stashed into the show plot. I mean ofc we got the chapel scene and all but.. The whole wound patching-up scene was a pivotal moment in their relationship and it was completely downplayed in the show. And then there was also Kaz getting mad at Inej freeing some children from slavers? Like ofcourse even book Kaz would be slightly miffed but he wouldn't outright reprimand Inej and tell her she's off the team due to it, but thats what show Kaz did. And then after everything that happens, the sudden drop of “how will you have me” and the “without armor” dialogue completely did dirty to that moment. Like ofc she says “gloves on, fully clothed, head turned away so our lips never meet”. But in the books, Inej utters those words because of all the secrecy and lack of effort for pursuing a proper relationship between them. The “no armor” Inej says is addressed towards wanting him to be more open about himself (since Kaz knows basically everything about her, from her full name to how she was captured and ended up in Ketterdam) but Inej knows nothing about him, not even if Kaz Brekker is his real name. But the show made the “no armor” dialogue so bad. Its made Inej look so shallow as if she is merely speaking in terms of her physical wants.

Ohh and I did mention this in another post but everybody fucking knowing about Kaz's backstory? Everyone but Inej? The only person he actually tells in the books. Him even telling the fraction of stuff he tells Inej spoke volumes about their bond and how he trusted her enough to reveal this truth about himself. Show Kaz's past is revealed to Nina and Jesper casually walking in and listening??? WTF was that? And no Inej in thaf moment. Call it nitpicking but it was WRONG.

• Wesper has been reduced to the token gay couple of the show. Their sweet first encounter has been completely eradicated and they're turned into this typical trope of people who had a one night stand and accidentally met again. Their romance is so sexualised in the show, as many tend to do with queer ships (which is extremely disgusting imo). More importantly, we'll most likely never see the “no, not just girls” in that possible spin-off 🙂

• Ketterdam: the show has given no proper insight on Ketterdam. I bet most of the show only people don't understand much about the city and the gangs. I wonder if many even know whats a Dime Lion. And Pekka randomly having the stadwatch in cahoots with him was so shitty writing?

And these are just a few that i can remember right now. Also i don't want this post to get too long.

CHAPTER ✨145✨

First up. I love how unbothered the Fairies and Giants are by this.

They're like "Ohhh what's going on?" "Invaders huh? Well, it's their funeral" lol 😆 Like they know it's gonna be alright.

Then we have Killbeggan over here just spewing probably just to rile up Mertyl even more. Which yeah ended up happening.

But like dude, this must hurt him a lot you know, cause Mertyl's in there, we know this based from last chapter when King heard Mertyl's thoughts. My boy completely lost control over his body and he can't do anything but watch himself hurt his family 😭

Just to point it out, this is a really nice moment between King and Sixtus. Like Sixtus is obviously still upset but despite that Sixtus still has trust, care and respect for his dad that he would do what King asked him to do. Sixtus knows that his dad knows what he's doing, he knows that there are reasons for everything that is happening. Sixtus may not understand it fully but he trusts his dad and it's all that matters.

We got to finally see what the other kids can do too. Obviously they're holding back cause it's their brother they're facing. Then we have Belte being Belte. Like honestly, I love how calm and chill he is, he even wagged his finger like honestly dude he's so cute.

Then we have Nasiens and Diane stepping into action. Awesome, everybody gets to have a moment.

I lowkey like it when these Chaos Knights thinks they have a chance on even landing a hit on the Sins. Like buddy calm down, you already dug your own grave the moment you screwed up Mertyl.

Also, I find it funny how tiny the speech bubble is when he said "Die Fairy King" like yeah sure that'll kill him 😂 even the manga itself doesn't believe you lol 😆

Also, King could be referring to Merlin here. Interesting that he still views her as a friend. Regardless of that...

You know King is just toying with you when he gets this cocky. Killbeggan is dead King is just playing with him at this point lol.

Then, our boy Sixtus shows up to absolutely wreak these mofos. Honestly, I called it right from the very beginning. Sixtus gives Lancelot vibes and I'm living for it. I can't wait for them to meet up cause they're besties for sure.

I'm also very curious on what and who these hooded people are cause I counted there are like 10 of them and there must be a plan right? Like they must have some way to get the Drug of Yore on their own cause it's a little too wild for them to show up like that only to get beat. Unless, that's their actual purpose lol.

Also, I love how Sixtus gets to have his solo moment here like Nakaba really is establishing Sixtus as a character that will be relevant in the future. I'm smelling Lancelot Platoon 😆

Here it is at last, the much-requested sequel featuring our holy trifecta of soft bois!

I’ll admit I struggle with writing for Amit and Garreth (it’s why I’m often procrastinating on requests for them, sorry loves 😭) but this turned out surprisingly well I think!

Also, Imelda has been excluded because I’m doing a separate requested fic with a similar premise for her.

Sebastian Sallow 🐍

You honestly still find yourself a little amazed at all the things Sebastian’s hands seem to be capable of sometimes. As far as you can recall, there hasn’t been a single time between the sheets that didn’t end with you as a tangled sweaty mess, sculpted like clay under his experienced fingertips. Right now, for example, he’s fingering you so good that it’s slightly surprising you’ve only had five orgasms so far.

As you come down from your euphoric high and Sebastian settles down next to you, you notice the pensive look on his face. You reach out to touch his hand. “Anything the matter?”

You frown at the unexpected question. “Of course I trust you. Why, did I do anything to suggest otherwise?”

But every time we are having sex these days, it feels like there’s a… barrier between us. You’re holding back, for some reason, and I can’t help but think… is it me?”

You quickly sit up, your eyes widening. “No, Sebastian, I – no, of course not!”

“Then what is it?” His brown eyes are worried, full of tender concern. You know he would never judge you, and yet you‘ve never found it in you to be truly open with him.

“I…” You avert your gaze, inadvertently looking down at your torso. “It’s not you, it’s me.”

His hands find yours, fingers intertwining. “Tell me, then.”

Perhaps it’s the slightly commanding tone in his voice, or the way he’s touching you, providing you a sense of comfort you find hard to ignore. Either way, you draw a deep breath.

“I –“ Your voice shudders, the words sounding hopelessly pathetic as you speak them, “I don’t think I’m pretty.”

There’s a silence in the room as Sebastian considers the meaning of your confession. You’d expect him to laugh, or to tell you that you’re mad. Though if he’s thinking any of those things, his face isn’t showing it.

“Really?” he then asks, sounding more surprised than anything.

You nod feebly. You can’t help it. Ever since you were marked by the battles you’ve fought a long time ago, you were so afraid to be with anyone that meeting Sebastian seemed like a gift from heaven. You never wanted to risk losing him, even if it meant obscuring the truth.

He shifts so that he’s more or less sitting opposite you, catching your gaze even as you try to look away. “You said you trusted me, didn’t you?”

You just nod again, too shy to say anything. You freeze up as his fingers slide under your sweater, nails grazing lightly across your skin.

“Lift your arms for me?” He sounds so kind, so warm, like a glow enveloping you like a blanket, safe from the world. You comply, feeling your skin being exposed inch by inch.

“Easy,” he coos. “Slow breaths. Keep your eyes on me.”

And then your sweater is gone, and you sit there, perfectly bare. You cross your arms across your chest in a futile gesture, a dark flush spreading down from your face as you feel Sebastian observing you, seeing you.

He’s surprisingly quiet. No words of surprise, no jokes. He’s simply sitting there, letting his eyes wander. Then he reaches out.

“May I?” he inquires, looking up at you for your approval as he places a hand on your arm. You allow him to uncross your arms, closing your eyes and turning your head away as the anxiety becomes to heavy to bear. Surely he must be disappointed. He’s just too kind to show it.

Then you suddenly feel a hand cupping your cheek. He kisses your jawline, slowly, provoking a sigh as you feel part of your tenseness leaving you. He gently lays you back on the bed, finally causing you to open your eyes, met by the sight of his warm smile.

“Dear,” he says, in a half-chuckle that sends a shiver down your spine, “you are beautiful.”

And then his lips are on your collarbone, and your response is lost in a moan as he begins exploring you, nursing every bare inch. He kisses every scar, tracing the crude lines down your chest, your abdomen, your nether region. As he inches ever so closer to your sensitive spot, your fingers finding their way into his messy hair, you realise something.

You feel pretty. And it’s the last clear thought you have before you close your eyes and give yourself away to the waves of your shared pleasure.

Amit Thakkar 🦅

“May I kiss you?”

He’s sitting opposite you on the bed, his voice slightly high-pitched, trembling with anticipation. Even though you have always been good at projecting confidence at the very least, your skill seems to fail you today as you nod shyly, feeling your heart swell in your chest as his lips approach yours.

The kiss is… surprisingly adequate. Nothing special, though certainly not the disaster you had been anticipating. If anything, it’s even a little… arousing, the way he tenderly moves his tongue, using it to part your lips and seek contact with yours. Sure, it’s not like you haven’t kissed before, but even so he seems far more in control of his movements than you are. A sudden thought crosses your mind as you move slowly on the rhythm of your kiss; that somehow, Amit is more ready for this than you are.

It feels… odd, to say the least. Normally you are the assertive one, always taking charge while Amit is content with following you around. That he is the one guiding you now in these most vulnerable of moments is one you definitely didn’t see coming.

You separate, the both of you blushing. “Was that… good?” Amit asks.

You nod. “Yeah… yeah, it was.”

His face lights up, almost eliciting a chuckle from you. He’s always happy to receive great marks.

“So… can I touch you now?”

It takes a little longer for you to give your approval than when he asked to kiss you. It’s not the first time you have put your hands on each other either, though that was always with your clothes on. You want to be able to go all the way with him this time… and that thought terrifies you more than anything.

His hands move gently and deliberately, following the curves of your body. He may seem as shy as you are, but it’s obvious that he wants you. It causes you to momentarily drop your guard as you sigh deeply, letting your head crane back ever so slightly as he feels you in all the right places.

Then he moves to lift your blouse, and you snap back to reality.

His eyes find yours as you grab his wrist to stop him. You blush, immediately trying to explain yourself. “Amit, eh, perhaps –”

But words fail you. You’d spent so long building up to this moment that you feel bad backing out now.

There’s a momentary pause, and then Amit takes both of your hands into his. You’re surprised to see him… smiling.

“My dear,” he says, “I understand. You’re always so brave, so unyielding, that it must be a strange thing for you to be vulnerable like this. We don’t have to keep going if you don’t want to. But… I am ready to do this with you, if you are.”

Great, now you feel bad. Telling yourself to get your act together, you let out a shivering sigh. “I… I want this too. But let’s take it slow, all right?”

“Of course,” he nods, before seemingly getting a thought. “I may have an idea – turn around for me?”

Frowning, you turn your back to him. You feel his arms wrap around you and then he’s suddenly embracing you from behind, his warmth pressing up against you as his mouth hovers close to your ear. “Better?”

You nod. It does feel good. Though what makes it even better are his lips on your neck, gently suckling on that sensitive piece of skin that has your heart thumping within minutes.

Your breath grows heavier, more ragged, and you’re so lost in the moment that you don’t even feel the thin fabric sliding down your shoulders. Though you do sense it when he pulls back, and you suddenly realise your back is exposed.

He doesn’t say anything, at least, not at first. You can feel his eyes bore into you, his fingers reaching out to examine your scars with almost scientific curiosity. Your mind is rushing with thoughts, seeking the words to explain, to justify, but then your breathing stops at the sound of his chuckling. Oh Merlin, he’s chuckling.

“They look like constellations,” he says. You furrow your brow, slightly turning your head. “What?”

“Your scars. Look,” He traces a line near your left shoulder blade. “Corvus,”

He trails further down, finding a mark on your lower back, “Capricornus,”

And finally, his hand rests on a spot toward your right side. “Lacerta.”

You keep frowning, though you are unable to resist a smile at the enthusiastic tone in his voice. “You… you don’t mind them?”

“Not at all. I think they look… pretty.” He leans forward to kiss you on your cheek. “Was this what you were so nervous about?”

“I… I suppose I was.” It sounds almost comical now, the way your worries amounted to nothing. He starts peppering your shoulders with little kisses once more, drawing a sigh from your lips.

“I want to study them,” he coos between kisses. “To chart them, to map every detail of your exquisite body.”

You chuckle, your nerves finally loosening. “You want to study me?”

“Why not? I know for a fact you would make for a truly… fascinating subject.”

As intriguing as the thought sounds, you feel you have a better idea. With the initial apprehension and shame having melted away, you are suddenly rather eager to completely cede yourself to your lover. You move back, pressing your butt up against his pelvis, Amit rewarding you with a shocked gasp. There’s no doubt about it, all that talk about constellations and your body has made him hard as hell.

“Nice instrument you have there,” you say, voice thick with lust, “care for a demonstration?”

The heaviness of his breathing is only drawn out by the sound of his trousers being loosened. A delicious shiver ripples through you as his length presses up against your bottom, warm and throbbing. You are both nervous, anxious about the bond you are about to seal, though it’s like none of that matters anymore as he finally enters you, stretching you to your limits.

“Come again?”

The Gryffindor perches up from his seat, looking at you over the many bottles spewing out coloured puffs of smoke. You instantly realise this was a bad idea. Nevertheless, you repeat your query, letting out a sigh as you cross your arms. “I was asking if, hypothetically speaking, there was a potion that could make scars disappear.”

He cocks an eyebrow, obviously not having expected the question. At least, not from you.

“Well uh,” he says, scratching behind his ear, “I suppose it depends on the size, and the kind, things like that. Why do you ask, did I leave a hickey last time?”

You roll your eyes. “No. I didn’t even say it was for me.”

“Well, that much is a given. You’re the only one who’s so self-conscious about their image they need about fifty different charms every morning.”

That does it. “You know what, forget I asked,” you bristle, turning on your heels to stamp out of the classroom. Before you are able to leave, though, Garreth quickly steps around the table, blocking your path. “Hey, hey, I’m sorry – that was uncalled for.”

“You’d think?” you snarl, though your gaze is already softening. You’ve never really been able to get truly mad at the Gryffindor, knowing that most of the time he’s simply a goof with a habit of running his mouth.

“Look, err,” he says hesitatingly, “there’s no way I can say this without sounding at least moderately offensive. But – I’ve seen you knock down trolls thrice your size. Why of all things is this the thing you choose to be insecure about?”

You flash him a look. “If it were a choice, I wouldn’t be standing here right now.”

“Right, but still.” He takes a step closer to you. “I think you’re pretty as you are. Doesn’t that count for something?”

“Of course it does, but…” You sigh. “You’ve never actually seen me.”

It’s true, he hasn’t. Even though the two of you have been taking it steadily for a couple of months now, you’ve never gotten much intimate beyond making out sessions or quick handjobs in the bathroom. Part of you is grateful for his patience, for his lack of questions about your odd habit of always wearing long sleeved sweaters, though he’s never been really good at hiding his eagerness to see more of you. And obviously you’ve felt the urge too, though…

“Show me, then.”

You blink, thinking you misheard. “What?”

Garreth smiles at you. “Come on, think of it as another challenge. I’m sure, at the end of this, you realise it’s all in your head.”

You want to tell him off, but… you can’t. As much as the thought frightens you, perhaps taking this one step is all you need to finally get over your fear.

“You mean… in here?” you ask, looking around the Potions classroom. It’s isolated at the moment, though you don’t find the possibility of anyone walking in at you much appealing.

Garreth thinks for a moment. “I have an idea. Follow me,”

He walks over to a door in the corridor and swiftly unlocks it with a charm. As soon as you’ve both stepped inside, he turns around and locks it again. You look around you and see a desk and shelves stacked with all kinds of potion ingredients.

“Sharp’s office?” you snap at him in a whisper.

“He won’t be back for a good while,” Garreth says, shrugging. “Black’s got him running some inane errand again. Besides, the forbiddenness of it all is rather exciting, don’t you think?”

You shake your head. Silly goof. Garreth leans back against the desk, crossing his arms. “Right, then. Let’s see what all the fuss is about.”

You thought you could do it, but now that you’re standing here with the Weasley boy looking at you, you suddenly feel shy again. You simply fidget a bit, not really feeling inclined to take any action.

Garreth cocks an eyebrow. “Still nervous? Darling, you’re looking at a fellow whose mug looks like this –” he points at his own face with a funny gesture – “and you honestly feel you have a right to complain?”

You chuckle, slightly harder than you’d meant to because of the nerves. You appreciate his meagre attempt at humour, even though it’s doing little to encourage you, which he seems to be realising as well.

“Still nothing?” he asks. “All right, tell you what, why don’t I go first?”

You are about to ask what he means when he suddenly pulls his shirt over his head. You can’t help but stare as you take in his well-defined torso, every inch of skin covered in light freckles.

“Weasley family curse,” he says with a grin. “And you thought you had it bad.”

There’s a beat as you stand there, looking like you’ve been struck by lightning. Maybe you would never admit it openly, but he does look like quite the snack. It has you involuntarily growing red in the face.

Trembling like a leaf, you start pulling at your sweater, lifting the garment ever so slowly. Garreth’s eyes linger as you bare yourself to him, tongue slipping past his lips to wet them. You don’t know what he’s thinking. You’re not sure you even want to know. All you can do is look away and desperately wish you’ll spontaneously turn invisible as you bunch your sweater up around your chest, nothing but air shrouding your scarred waist from his hungry gaze.

Before you can proceed any further, he suddenly steps forward, kneeling in front of you. You’re too shocked to say anything as he grabs your hips and moves his head toward your abdomen. There’s a slightly tickling sensation as you feel him blowing – actually blowing – on your stomach.

“What are you doing?” you ask, not knowing whether to sound amused or confused.

“Isn’t it obvious?” he asks, pausing just a moment to look up at you with joy-filled eyes. “I’m blowing the scars away.”

You’re genuinely lost for words. He doesn’t seem to care. He simply continues to blow on the pink markings, causing the little hairs on your skin to stand up in titillated delight.

“You’re a fool,” you finally chuckle, your trepidation breaking under his boyish charm.

“I know,” comes the reply from underneath the mess of red curls. “And you love me for it.”

His lips advance, touching your skin. Wet, soft. A sigh escapes your lips as you feel him trail down, kissing, loving.

He’s right, and you know it.

I'm gonna write my favorite Darkling quotes 'cause a) I'm bored b) I love him and miss him so much.

Anyways I'm not gonna rate them cause every one of them is fucking iconic (as he is).

Let's get into this!

These might be my most favorite quotes of his. His last words. 'Cause with his last breath he showed that he was only human after all. Cruel and damaged, yes. But still human.

There is no safe place. There is no haven. Not for us. There will be, he promised in the darkness, new words written upon his heart. I will make one.

I ADORE these lines. Less than 24 hours ago two Grisha tried to kill him (one of them a supposed friend) and what did he tried to do after that? Create a safe space for his kind in order for them not to go through what they went through. If he's the villain for this then I wish we had this kind of villain in our world.

‌"All men can be made fools."

OKAY OKAY LISTEN. I love this line for two reasons. Firstly, cause it's true. Every person can be made a fool. BUT! Secondly and most importantly, he hints to Mal and Alina (Alina actually cause Mal didn't know he was there) that he was made a fool too because of Alina. He fell in love with her and felt hope for the first time after centuries that this new person would be like him, live with him and spend eternities together. He would no longer be alone. And she seemed that she wanted him too as far as he could tell. And then what happened? She run off, found Mal and turned her back on him and their country. That mostly disappointed him, I think. In a large degree. And he must have thought what a fool he was to trust her and fall for her. Hence that amazing line.

Let me make a mark on this world before I leave it.

And boy did he not make it? Years after his death in R&R and people still talk about him. He made a mark not only on the world but on people too (no pun intended for Genya I swear. I love her😭). He made a huge impact and even antis have to admit that. Actually more than the actual protagonist but anyways *coughthe fact that the villain made bigger impact than the heroes in the storycough*

You fucking iconic legend with your fucking iconic lines. And yes, I believe him. No matter how many decades Alina would fight him, he would be unmovable.

That line is so true. The more you care, the more you get hurt. I'm sorry but a quality that people often overlook about the Darkling is his wisdom. I would sit and listen for hours to him talking about life, love, death and people. After so many centuries he's so knowledgeable.

Also, this line makes me wonder how many people he had loved, lost and mourned. Because obviously he talks from experience. *Sigh* I would die to read a book about his whole life before Alina.

He only wished that it wasn't winter. He wanted to turn his face to the sun and feel it warm him. He'd been a long time in the dark.

Yeah he's cruel and manipulative and the villain and blah, blah, blah. But again this line proves his humanity. He loves the sun (how much are you willing to bet people that his favourite season is Summer😏), he loves the sunlight, its warmth and light (another clue that Alina is his soulmate dc what anyone says). Our baby was resurrected and first things first he wanted his wife beside him and the sun to hit his face (priorities people🥹😍).

"Then I'd be alone too."

(*whispering*don't cry, don't cry, don't cry)

So. Heh. I may have a soft spot for fictional characters that suffer from loneliness. Probably because I have suffered from it too most of my life (🫠). I'm sorry but you can hate him all you want alright? No one can stop you. But people that don't feel an ounce of sympathy or pity for him and what he has gone through are just useless to talk to. Most of all he wants someone to make him company to this endless sea of eternity.

Deep blue like the True Sea. Red like the roofs of the Shu temples. The pure, buttery color of sunlight—not really yellow or gold, what would you call it? All the colors you couldn't see in the dark.

Baby shadow summoner can control the dark and its blackness and yet he loves all colors that are bright. But most of all the sunlight.

Ah, yes. The cult classic one. Honestly, this line makes me feel bad for him. Cause he has tried the peaceful solution so many times (not with just Alina but generally). At this point he's like: "Fuck it. If I have to become a monster then so be it." They leave him no choice and furthermore he's obviously grown tired of trying diplomacy.

I froze the first time I read this line but now I laugh every time I do. Here he shows how petty he can be and how much shame he doesn't have (in your face Mal😚).

Mostly I love this line cause it just sounds cool. But after I read the book for a second time I realized that it could tie with the "Demon in the Woods" book. It's a nice little nod. If you get it, you get it😉.

A nice (though bittersweet) little way to end this post. 🥹

With Alina he felt human again. That part that was buried deep beneath him and rarely if not ever got out. Do you remember how she made him laugh with her honest remarks on "Shadow and Bone"? How his eyes closed and his breath stopped when she reached to stroke his cheek on R&R? How he broadly smiled when she laughed about how common his name was? That was Aleksander Morozova (especially that last part). The boy that grew up forcefully and was thrown to a cruel world too soon, too violently. They were these 400+ years that made him cruel. It was eternity that broke him. Loneliness and pain that made him withdraw. Until Alina came. And she could bring to the surface that buried, broken boy. And it felt good to him (although inconvenient too). She made him feel vulnerable. And when he was resurrected he seeked her out to feel that way again. Human.

*sigh*

I had a fremellei brainrot I need to share with someone (I WOULD JOIN THE DISCORD BUT IT WOULDN'T LET ME FOR SOME GOD FORSAKEN REASON😭)

So, I doubt Collei would be able to swim. Maybe Tighnari tried to teach her but it just didn't work out. So while visiting fontaine, she mentions this to Freminet and she talks about how she'd like to be able to dive and look at all the sea creatures and explore. And she says it with this longing in her eyes that Freminet just MELTS for. And he nervously says-

"Well....I could teach you how to swim.....if you wanted..."

(I think this would happen after Collei gets a bit more comfortable with touch)

Collei just lights up at the idea and gets really excited. Not only because she'd finally learn how to swim, but also because she would have an excuse to spend time with Freminet!!

So Freminet starts giving Collei swimming lessons, going step by step to make sure she's comfortable. I think this would also be Collei getting to see just how passionate Freminet is about diving, and that would like- make her even more attracted to the sweet boy🥺

Finally, the day comes where Collei is finally able to start diving. Freminet is with her the entire time, and makes sure nothing bad happens to her. While Freminet is keeping watch for her, Collei is just having the time of her life. Looking at all the sea creatures, getting close to them (stressing out Freminet I'm sure lol). And Freminet just looks in her eyes, seeing the wonder and curiosity she has. And just that look, makes him fall for her even harder

Eventually the pull up and take a breather. They sit near the water and talk about the experience. Collei is just talking about how she's so excited to show Cyno, Amber, and Tighnari that she can swim, and also tell them about the cool stuff she saw. And she's saying all this Freminet's looking at her with pure adoration in his eyes. Thinking about how pretty she looks when she's all excited. And at that moment, all his self consciousness just kinda goes away, and he gets lost in Collei's presence

Collei eventually realize she was rambling and gets embarrassed and apologizes. Freminet reassures her that it's okay and laughs

"....that was amazing for your first time diving Collei.."

"Ah...was it really??? I'm glad!! I felt a little nervous at first but I knew I was safe because you were with me Freminet!!"

Freminet smiles and continues to look at Collei adoringly

"....you're amazing, Collei..."

And somehow, his body acts without him thinking and he gives her a kiss on the cheek. Collei is stunned by the sudden action and just freezes in place, face flushing with red and brain just short circuiting. Freminet soon realizes what he did and just thinks "oh shit I messed up- what if she hates me now?? I should've gotten consent, did I just ruin our friendship?? oh no, oh no, oh no-"

He clears his throat and stands up, trying to compose himself, telling Collei that they should head back now before it gets dark, swiftly trying to change the subject. And Collei's mind is racing, and she feels like she should say or do something. As Freminet begins to starts walking away, she stands up and grabs him arm

"Freminet-!"

"Hm-?"

And she pulls him back a bit, and returns the kiss on the cheek. They just .....stare at each other for a little while before both clearing their throats and being like "um yeah so we should go back now"

And they are both left internally SCREAMING after that incident. And I think that would be the turning point in their relationship where they realize they both have feelings for each other.

Thoughts on The Bad Batch Episode 6 - Infiltration - A Discussion Post

This week's two episodes really took us through another rollercoaster. Let's look back on all the details that got us excited!

(SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE EPISODES YET! all screencaps from cap-that.com! https://www.cap-that.com/starwars/the-bad-batch/306/)

Rex makes his return by delivering Senator Avi Singh and his droid GS-8 to Senator Riyo Chuchi on Pantora, who continues to recruit people for fighting against the Empire. I was surprised to see Senator Singh again; every episode that's happened in the series really had a good purpose for the story.

Howzer also appeared, and I'm so happy he's back!

One of the Clone X troopers had appeared, sneaking around and attempting to attack the senators. Rex and the others try to attack the trooper, and Howzer manages to stun him. The trooper ends up being another unidentified clone, and the boys take him into custody.

We arrive at the monastery on Teth, which had first appeared in the Clone Wars movie. Rex and the other clones have built themselves a base here, where they are safe and far away from the Empire.

Rex and Howzer go to see the CX trooper they took into custody, as they had the shocker removed from their teeth, learning from the scenario that happened last season. Rex tries to reason with the trooper, who refuses to talk.

Fireball had looked through the device that they found with the CX trooper, and Omega was shown on that device. Rex decides to contact Echo and Hunter, calling them here to talk to them about the situation. Everyone's after the poor girl, and none of the clones are able to catch a break.

The CX trooper that we've all got our eyes glued to appears once again on-screen, asking "Why have I been activated?" We finally get to hear this trooper talk, and his voice is very hidden by the helmet. He is given a mission to track down the CX trooper that went missing, and we go on to pay close attention to him throughout the episodes. When I tell you my heart was racing every time he appeared on screen, I was really trying to think hard and connect the dots. I'm a Tech believer, but with the new theories emerging on this trooper potentially being other clones as well, every theory is so intriguing.

While on the way to Rex's base, Omega copying Crosshair was the cutest thing ever. She went from copying Hunter in Season 1, copying Phee in Season 2, and now this in Season 3. (Hunter's definitely having flashbacks.) Girl's growing up too fast for me 😭

Can we just take a second and look at Wrecker's smile here? It was so heartwarming to see him smile like this while he was petting Batcher. He's so cute.

The crew arrives, and Howzer keeps his eyes locked on Crosshair. The little nod Rex and Omega shared was so adorable. Howzer speaks up to talk to Crosshair, who stays silent. He reminds him of Ryloth and what happened, and he has good reason to be upset.

Not gonna lie, I was expecting Rex to look at Batcher and be like when did y'all get a dog 🤨

Before leaving to go pick up Gregor (wherever he is), Echo gives Omega a new crossbow, replacing the Zygerrian crossbow she used to have before being taken to Tantiss. I still wonder what happened to that weapon, it was just completely lost. Omega loves her new gift and thanks Echo, and I can't wait to see her use it.

Rex and Howzer show Hunter and Crosshair the information they got so far from the device they obtained from the CX trooper they have, and Crosshair starts to open up about what he went through on Tantiss, talking about Hemlock's conditioning. Howzer continues to suspect anything Crosshair says, and Hunter gets protective for his brother. The boys decide to ask Omega about why they wanted her on Tantiss, and she says that it was so Nala Se could work for them.

I feel like I could tell that Omega does not want to talk about anything she went through on Tantiss and whatever she experienced. She looks so hurt at times ever since she became reunited with her family, and she wasn't even eating in this episode. She always keeps giving Batcher her food. Omega mentions "M-count", which Rex has heard of before, but doesn't know what it means. I wonder when they'll learn what it means and how they'll try to figure out why Omega is needed for this.

Meanwhile, the CX trooper sent from Tantiss had arrived on Teth and located the clones' base, and had snuck in without ANYONE noticing. Batcher's senses felt something was around, but she shrugged it off and continued eating. Not even Hunter's enhanced senses had felt something was around. I felt like maybe these troopers were designed to avoid those kinds of things, and maybe Hemlock learned about Hunter's abilities and attempted to avoid them.

Anyway, he looks around and spots Omega, immediately running out and contacting someone.

When Crosshair found out they have one of the CX troopers in custody, he goes with Rex, Howzer, and Hunter to see him. The second he lays eyes on the trooper, there is genuine fear in his eyes. What did he go through on Tantiss?

The CX trooper recognizes Crosshair and begins to talk, and knows the Empire is coming for them. Crosshair insists they leave, while the others keep wanting information, and Howzer gets more suspicious.

Right outside, the bombs CX-2 planted around the base are set off, triggering multiple explosions. He re-enters the base, firing shots, as everyone hurries to protect the base. The trooper manages to shoot the CX trooper they have in custody, making them unable to get further information. The fight continues until the base is wrecked, causing the CX trooper to be crushed under rubble, and the others get locked in the place they kept the trooper in custody after the rubble blocks their way out.

RIP to Fireball 😭

Wolffe finally makes his appearance! He continues to be a soldier of the Empire, but he definitely is no longer under the influence of the chip. The episode ends here, and I was screaming the entire time Wolffe appeared. Someone go summon the force ghost of Plo Koon so he can knock some sense into his son.

This episode was full of context, but there's still so much mystery behind everything. The next episode was full of even more action, and I had my eyes glued to the screen.

I feel like hesh has only had 2 or 3 short-term girlfriends in the past, and each time he legit thought they were going to spend the rest of their life together, but they just ended up cheating on him or using him. and so when he met you he was very standoffish, and did not trust you for a while. because he thought you were like the others, so when you showed him that you only wanted HIM! When I tell you this man fell head over heels for you... It's like as if someone put the world in his hands. Because well.... in his eyes, they really did.

the very first person he introduced you to when you guys got together was Riley. This man was so nervous to introduce you to his goddamn dog, it was adorable. and when Riley liked you it was a weight lifted off his shoulders.

Since hesh's family is very VERY! important to him, it's important for them to like you too. So when he realized that you were the only one for him. he practically ran to his dad's house with you In his arms to introduce you to anybody. And when his dad/brother actually ended up liking you a lot. it just made him so madly in love with you.

out of all the guys when he's not working. he is the most sweetest, and genuine person ever! Which surprises a lot of people.

Since he grew up in San Diego he obviously is a big surfer. so if you're into surfing as well that is major bonus points for you. but if you're not, don't worry. he'll teach you, he'll definitely try to show you some tricks. And OHHH BOY! if Logan comes along, you might as well forget learning. cuz it's going to be a competition between those 2 on who can do better.

Slow dances with you in the kitchen. (although It's more like holding you in his arms and just standing there)

Since it's pretty obvious that hesh is a major Hot Head. (I mean just look at all the times he's blown up at everybody) so before he met you, he had quite the temper. And after y'all have been together for a while. you've noticed how much he's calmed down, like his temper is nowhere near as bad. To the point that even Merrick has said something about it "oh damn it looks like we're losing our boy. what has that woman done to you?" Merrick jokingly says, but he low-key grateful he's not as hot-headed anymore.

Now when it comes to day to day life he's a little... dumb. Like he's always calling his dad asking him if the difference between laundry detergent is the reason why his work-clothes have holes in them/asking if he should go to the emergency room because he's SOMEHOW sliced his leg open. so when you came into the picture just know you made Elias's blood pressure go down so much. you saved him from a heart attack.

I'm sorry but this MAN has a major sweet tooth. especially on the nights he can't sleep, so you'll often find him in the kitchen eating candy or some sugary shit. and then he complain on why he doesn't have abs later that week.

Hesh is a low-key hopeless romantic. Although he sucks ass at being romantic, but he tries his hardest. give our boy a break!

We know that hesh has PTSD but he certainly doesn't let it show. He's probably one of the very few guys that has it somewhat under control. But that doesn't mean he doesn't get the occasional panic attacks/nightmares. And when he does he usually goes very quiet, which is unlike him. That's when you know he's having a rough time, and your sign to step back and let him come to you when he's ready.

Now that doesn't mean he doesn't want your help, it's just 1 time in a past when you were trying to calm him down during one of his panic attacks, he absolutely snapped at you, and went off, It was the most angriest you've ever seen him. ever since then he keeps his distance when he is going through something like that, because he doesn't want to take it out on you. And hurt you. He still really hasn't forgiven himself from the last time. so he tries his best to protect you from it.

Secretly has a candy stash in his barracks room when he's deployed.

And lastly he CANNOT! be trusted to be in the kitchen when you're cooking..... By the time whatever you're making is done, half of it's already gone. You know those 5-year-olds that get excited when you have like brownie batter or something like that. yeah that's him, and he manages to get it all over his face in the process. The man is somehow a 5-year-old in a 27 year old body. you often question how Elias made it all these years.

Love language. Quality time, and words of affirmation. (I'm sorry but you cannot tell me this man's knees go WEAK when you tell him you're proud of him.)

It will always be so funny to me (in a hahahaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!😭😭😭😭 kind of way) that j*ss wh*don, a man famous for ensuring Buffy suffers literally as much as humanly possible, watched Veronica Mars, a show where in just the pilot we learn:

A girl and her dad are social pariahs, who were abandoned by her alcoholic mother. Her best friend has been murdered. They lost their home after her dad was fired because of said murder. Her ex boyfriend basically ghosted her while still going to the same school - just ZERO words or explanation as to why or that they were even broken up. Her first sexual experience is SA that isn’t taken seriously and MOCKED by law enforcement and she can’t even tell her dad because she’s worried what he’ll do. Her dead best friend’s boyfriend, who used to be her friend too, has now made it his life mission to make her miserable. She lost her entire friend group, and she has to work as a PI seeing the worst of the worst of human behavior to help pay the bills that often puts her in danger.

And wh*don went:

“Now THAT is television!!!”

So much so he made reference to Veronica Mars season 2 in the comics and he did a guest star appearance 💀

Don’t get me wrong I love Veronica Mars but I just KNOW it’s for completely different reasons than j*ss does.

I am just so sure he was absolutely THRILLED by all the horrors and pain they were able to dump on a young girl in one fell swoop (like I can literally picture him cackling like a supervillain like he did after writing the angel to angelus storyline, at the evil genius-ness of it all) when it took him many seasons for all the trauma and hardships to really pile up on Buffy. It’s just so obscenely on brand for him it becomes comical in a “I have to laugh so I don’t cry” kind of way while also pointing to the larger issue of how most male writers and directors use their female characters and more specifically - their pain and trauma - to move a story along

This is made even worse if the woman is a person of color which is a whole other conversation that I as a white woman don’t really feel it’s my place to delve into the history of the exploitation of racial based trauma by a predominantly white run hollywood because that would be just another white person talking about an experience that isn’t mine but it felt important to acknowledge that this post is about two white women characters and I know it is so much worse for women of color which we even see examples of in both shows.

Seeing our own pain reflected in media is important and valuable in many ways but so is seeing joy and love and I didn’t realize how bad things were until I watched the movie “Ibiza: Love Drunk” several years ago and the entire time I was holding my breath waiting for someone to get kidnapped/sa’d/tricked by a fuck boy/fight amongst the group of girlfriends - because it was about a group of girls traveling, having fun partying, and meetings boys and hooking up with them and that literally ALWAYS ends badly in media!! And it didn’t this time and I didn’t realize how much I needed it and how RARE it was until that point 😭😭😭 which no surprise it was written by a woman who’s goal was to show women’s JOY in media and that bad things don’t always happen when we live our lives and have fun.

I've ALWAYS loved and wanted to play guitar and it's literally one of my life goals to be able to play guitar (acoustic and electric specifically) Every. Single. Time. this man does/shows us his passion and love for music suddenly I'm reminded of the burning passion inside me to accomplish my goals and strive for the life I want to live.

Cause I always forget whenever life starts getting rough. yeah, it's easy to forget when you're at your lowest. but the best part is to have people like him in your life, that reminds you to don't loose focus of your aspirations, and try to achieve a life where you feel at ease, where nothing is forced upon you, where you have enough to live for. and i'm sure and i'm glad that our lost boys give us that comfort we all need so bad 🥺

Trigun Stampede Episode 1 Reaction

Ok here goes. Idk how entertaining I'll be but... you know. This is mostly because I am having a weird time of things rn. Also, I have no background knowledge of this series whatsoever asides from that it might be a western and there was a 90s series and manga also, so if you're an og fan and this is painful... I am sorry lol.

But without further ado, let's go!

Aaaand that's a wrap on that! I'm intrigued and I feel like this episode answered absolutely nothing but raised a whole lot of questions, which is, well, what a first episode should do. The animation is really sharp geez. I generally prefer 2D animation but there's a lot of character to the expressions and motions - I think they really pulled it off!

And At Last I See The Light - A SebeSil Tangled AU

Had this AU stuck in my head for awhile

Where Silver as Rapunzel

Sebek as Flynn Rider/Eugene

Lilia as Mother Gothel

And Malleus as Pascal (I don't regret this at the same time I want him to feel included too)

!! Giving you guys a little heads up but long post up ahead !!

So we start off with the basic plot of Tangled where a magical flower that heals people sprouts out, which will be used by Lilia to stay young, but the flower gets taken because it was used as a cure for the ill Queen (who also happened to be pregnant). After that, the Queen gives birth to a baby with silver hair (number one reason for this au: imagining silver with long hair), which possesses the same healing powers as the flower. Lilia discovers this while sneaking into the castle one night, but it loses its powers once cut off (look i don't wanna make it lose its color like the original okay I like Silver's hair color 😭). Of course, we don't forget what happens where Mother Gothel kidnaps Rapunzel and takes her to a tower, to raise as her own. Which Lilia does to Silver as well (come on this might be possible with chapter 7 yknow 👀). The Royal Family was devastated with the disappearance of their son, so every year on Silver's birthday, they release sky lanterns in hopes for him to see and use it as a way to find his way home.

While Lilia wasn't a bad parent (except for his cooking, in which the birds have to sneak some berries to Silver so that he has something to eat), he is very protective of his son, but that doesn't stop Silver's curiousity from rising about the lights that always appear during his birthday . Since his 18th birthday was approaching, he decided to ask his father if they can see the lights in person. But Lilia refuses, saying that the outside world is too dangerous for someone like Silver (oh boy the amount of gaslighting in the original), which discourages him at first, but he gets comforted by Malleus (I've been giggling over Malleus as Pascal I'm sorry ya'll it's just too funny not to pass up). Later, we are introduced to Zigvolt (there is a reason for this just trust the process), a thief who works under Azul and was tasked to steal the lost prince's crown together with the Leech twins (yes I am bringing the fish mafia here because why not). It was a success but the guards found out which caused Zigvolt to separate from the twins, with the crown in hand, and seek refuge in the tower. Silver knocks him out though, hides Zigvolt in the closet in which he shows to Lilia as proof that he can take care of himself. But Lilia won't budge at all, so Silver decided to send his father on a trip to find the perfect gift for him.

Once Lilia was away, Zigvolt awakens tied to a chair with Silver's hair. This is where the bickering between the two starts (of course SebeSil won't be complete without the fighting), save Malleus from their fighting. But they come up with a compromise, Zigvolt will get the crown if he takes Silver to see the lanterns. They both escape the tower and start their little adventure in the outside world. They first visit a small pub, where thugs try to get Zigvolt caught (ya'll know those scenes where Eugene sees his wanted posters, but they keep fucking up his nose, yeah do that with Sebek but fuck up his eyebrows) but Silver's Disney Princess TM charms come to the rescue, since he ends up unintentionally charming them into helping them escape once the guards came in. But what they didn't know is that Lilia came back early, with a gift in tow, but the tower was empty and soon he finds the hidden crown. It doesn't take long for Lilia to notice what was going on, so he goes out to find Silver and along the way he teams up with the Leech twins.

Back to our main boys, they get into more trouble with the guards once again, which leads them to nearly drowning in a flooding cave. Thinking that he was going to die, Zigvolt reveals his first name to Silver, which is Sebek (see what I did there). But Silver reveals that his powers could help them find an exit. After nearly escaping death, they reside in the forest for the night, but Sebek was injured while making their escape.Silver then wraps his hair around Sebek's wound, sings the incantation and boom it's now healed, which scares Sebek once again cuz holy shit we got hair that glows and heals people. I just want that part to be the start of Sebek falling for Silver, but he doesn't realize it yet.

After that, they actually start talking about their lives (omg no bickering for once), how Silver's been stuck in the tower all his life with only Lilia and Malleus as his companions and Sebek's family being ridiculed due to his parent's marriage which lead to him stealing for a living. Of course, Sebek asks Silver as to why he keeps his hair obnoxiously long, Silver then explains about the magic of his hair, how the incantation he sang earlier was a way to trigger it, and cutting his hair off makes him lose the power. After hearing about Sebek's story, Silver's only way of comforting is by hugging him, reassuring him that even though he has no idea on how to comfort someone, he's willing to listen (causing Sebek's feelings to act up). But good things don't last long as Lilia overheard everything, but only appeared when Sebek was away, he then hands the crown to Silver telling him to use it as a way to test Sebek's loyalty.

Fast forward to morning, Sebek wakes up first to see a breathtaking sight of Silver sleeping with animals surrounding him. Not wanting to wake up the sleeping beauty just yet he leaves the area to find food, in which he gets caught by one of the guard's hunting wolves, Jack (and yes the wolf boy shall now become Maximus in this au). Silver then wakes up to the commotion (let's just imagine that Silver doesn't have his sleeping curse in this au, but he's still a deep sleeper) , and once again the Disney Princess charms go into action as it stops Jack from trying to eat Sebek and just go to Silver for some headpats. Jack then joins them on their journey (under the condition that he'll get headpats if he wont send Sebek to jail) as they encounter more people all the way to the kingdom (use this as an opportunity for our two main leads to fall in love with one another). As soon as they reached the festival, they had a blast. Hanging out with the townsfolk, braiding Silver's hair to make it at least shorter and Sebek talking to fellow men, and the moment Sebek sees Silver playing with the children, that's when he knew, it was love. When Sebek and Silver dance together with the townsfolk, Silver starts falling for him too (just seeing the guy being himself made him fall even deeper). As they were going to see the lanterns they encounter a painting of the royal family, in which feels familiar to Silver, especially the baby looks a lot like him. They get on a boat (leaving Jack and Malleus behind, but I have a reason for Malleus) and sail to see the lights.

And now let's go to my favorite scene in the original movie which gives us the iconic song "I See The Light". LIKE JUST IMAGINE THE TWO OF THEM DUETING THIS SONG IT'S JUST SO 💘💘💘💘, and maybe throw in a little kiss in the end, which leaves the two of them flustered. But that brings them to confess their love for one another (with a lot of screaming from Sebek of course), the two stay in the shore for awhile, just savoring the moment. Once they got back on land, Silver gives back the crown as part of their agreement. While Sebek was trying to return the boat back, he encounters his colleagues, the twins. Sebek tries to negotiate with them by offering the crown, but they beat him up and tied him to the boat to get him arrested and make Silver think that he left him. They also try to capture Silver as well, but Lilia comes to the "rescue" and drags him back to the tower.

The way the townsfolk looked at him like he was familiar and the baby in the painting all made sense now, Silver now realizes that he was the "missing prince" the kingdom was looking for. Silver then confronts Lilia about this discovery, which made his father come clean, about using him to simply stay young forever. This leads to the two of them fighting, with Lilia succeeding easily. Meanwhile with Sebek, he was able to escape from the boat with the help of Malleus, Jack and Silver's animal friends as he rushes back to the tower. Upon reaching the tower, he finds Silver bounded and gagged which gave Lilia the opportunity for him to stab Sebek from behind (a fatal one too can't forget that). While Sebek is slowly dying, Lilia tries to drag his son to a new hiding place but Silver keeps fighting him off, saying that he will willingly go if he heals Sebek first. Lilia reluctantly agrees as Silver immediately rushes to his aid, crying how he didn't mean for all this to happen. While healing him, Sebek realizes that Silver has to be kept prisoner due to his powers, he uses the opportunity to say his (supposedly) last words as he cuts off Silver's hair. This causes Lilia to start aging rapidly as he doesn't have any powers to feast on anymore, and turns into dust while falling off the tower.

Silver starts crying even more because he wasn't able to save Sebek, but his one of his tears still held the healing power, which landed on Sebek's wound, saving his life. They once again savor the moment with a kiss and reunite with their two animal friends. Silver also reunites with his real parents in the kingdom, but a lot of begging had to be done to pardon Sebek from his crimes. But hey at least they got their happy ending now ✨.

I am so mad at you right now. A canon event?? A canon event? You kill Arthur in every universe? Why? WHY??😭😭 My cute little sunshine boy deserves the world! And, suicide? Drug overdose? What happened to those realities, that made sweet Arthur so depressed that he killed himself and used drugs to the point of dying that Max and David didn't see? Didn't successfully prevent? That was not cool. So I've come up with two theories.

I believe that Other Hermes and Other Max knew that the moment Hermes figured out it was Max that took the blood and gave it to Kyle he would be taking Max's magic. Which means that Other Max will lose his magic too. I sincerely don't believe that Max would be willing to give up his magic (unless he is dying earlier that I thought? Or he is not dying at all?) So I think they figured out a solution to this. Like Other Max will leave something to Hermes, a message from other Hermes that lets him know what Other Max/Max did was with permission. Was a necessity. I really hope that's the case because if Max loses his magic, he will be truly, truly lost. Like, worse than David lost. And no one can afford Max to become lost to the world like in IALS. No one, and especially me,please stop hurting our Max😭

From the moment you said what kind of a clusterfuck changing a canon event can be, I believed that someone would change it. I don't know who, but I'm ready to bet someone will. And at first I thought that would be a very bad decision, like preventing Mallory/Lucifer from hurting Lance, it wasn't worth it because there is a way to deal with the consequences. Even in LBAF and IALS were those consequences hit the hardest, there was a way to deal and even be happy for the Mavid family. And then you made ARTHUR'S death a CANON EVENT. So I'm team David, screw the universe and screw Other Max. I vote they pull an Umbrella Academy and restart the universe because as Five put it, maybe the universe needs a reseting. A universe that makes Arthur's death a canon event definately needs a reseting.

(This man, let this man in LBAF for five minutes, he'll make sure everything is fixed, look at him he has an axe, let him throw it at Lucifer)

Unpopular opinion: The reason I really didn't like Other Max was because I thought he was tearing apart the universe just to be with David. It was an incredibly selfish thing to do and it also hurt Max a lot. Made him do things and feel things he normally wouldn't. It of course helped David, but mostly he just took the support Max would've given him from someone else. I completely appreciate Other Max fixing a bunch of stuff for Mavid and thank God he did, but dealing with those things together would've brought them closer and not doing it tore them apart. Killing Arthur and helping to create the guy who kills Lance, with the intention of killing Lance is also very fucked up and makes me want to fight him.

BUT, the pain and the things he has lost to willingly do those things. To lie, to allow Arthur and to help hurt Lance, for Max to reach that point. I just can't picture it and I really don't want to know. The way he always hesitates when it's Magnus just the implication of whatever happened to the rest of his family, to the rest of the world. We hear demons everywhere but until you describe it, until we go to the Other timeline and get a full description of the chaos, I don't think we can judge Other Max. Because it's still Max we're talking about.

I am aware I am always a little less hash with Max and a little too hash with anyone that hates him, which is not fair. But I relate to David a lot as a character, so you can not blame me for that, it's like a requirement you need to have so you can relate to David.

This sound/aesthetic gave me huge Other Max/Lance vibes, and I fell in love with it

I'm drowning in feelings and pain and I'm being delusional to survive it, Dani LBAF 6 escalated really really fast! And we still have LBAF 7 and Lucifer showed up like once? What even? Also, Kyle and Madeleine have been around for years and did so many bad things. And then that asshole shows up ONCE and MURDERS ARTHUR? I don't care how hot he is, I kinda want God to send him back to hell for another 5 thousand years or so. Please and thank you🤗🌼

About the Other Hermes and Other Max Theory - you're basically going to find out a lot of things (if not everything) that went down in the Other Timeline during the interlude. So, you can see for yourself if you are right or wrong :)

We 10000% need to let Number Five into the LBAF universe. Excellent idea! I fully support it!

I appreciate you giving Other Max the benefit of the doubt, I am EXTREMELY curious to see how everyone will feel about him after the interlude (not that the point of the interlude is to change opinion ha, this outline was written ages ago).

And you are so right. Lucifer only showed up once, for like 5 minutes, and look what has happened already. That's real power. ASMODEUS AND BELIAL COULD NEVER.

Buddy Daddies Predictions (Ep.11-13)

I literally can't wait anymore :')))

At this point I expect everything from this show

Ep. 11

I don't think that Rei and Kazuki will meet Miri again in this episode

I feel like we'll see both of them fall back into their own old habits, such as how Rei sleeps in the bathtub and smokes and Kazuki feeling empty again

I also feel like they most likely won't talk about their feelings or try to comfort each other at all (boy istg TALK ABOUT YOUR GODDAMN FEELINGS)

The focus in this episode won't be on miri and Misaki either, we'll probably see a few scenes of them but that's it

For some reason I can see it happening that miri constantly asks for her papa's and when they will return to pick her up 🥲 her mother wouldn't know how to answer and either ignores her daughters question or tells her she doesn't know

This is just the calm before the actual storm

Rei's dad definitely will play a HUGE part the last few episodes

I think he'll call his son again to his office and gives him the offer to become the heir of the suwa family business one last time

Sry not sry but I can't see that rei would ever have the guts to blatantly tell his dad no

fucking donkey 😡

He'll probably come up with the "give me more time pls" shit again and his dad will snap, telling him that if he won't decide soon, Kazuki will be out of the picture

The thing is, Rei KNOWS who is family is, he KNOWS what he wants. He just can't voice it out of fear from the business and rejection

Kazuki and Rei will also start to have a fight cuz Rei stopped cleaning for himself again and Kazuki is just too tired to do anything

I think it'll end with this threat from his father, Rei trying to distance himself from Kazuki and Kazuki completely dying on the inside and looking at their family picture

Ep. 12

It is too soon for miris mom to die, so I can't really imagine her dying in the show cuz of her cancer

I feel like, even tho she has changed (😒) she'll be quite overwhelmed with suddenly taking care of miri again

Listen I love our shortcake miri but she's a pain in the ass hands down

Her mother wasn't the best caretaker before, I mean she even said herself that she literally did not care at all for her before

On top of that, she just lost her job and most likely has no income yet. A child costs an fortune

When she first saw the room Kazuki and Rei had for miri she was shook because she KNOWS she can't afford that for miri as of now

I also feel like, since miri is quite stubborn, she won't stop asking about her papa's

Her mother will realize in this episode how much of a family they have become and I can imagine her starting to feel really bad about taking them away from each other

She'll probably have tons of guilt and I think miri will just get more stubborn each minute because her dad's won't show up

Her daycares Christmas event most likely will also play an big part in this episode. I think miri will imagine herself singing with her friends while her papa's and her mum are watching

I also think we will finally get to see Kazukis real rage after he finds out who's fault it is that his wife died

Remember that creep of a guy who writes people's last words into his notebook? Yes him

I hate this man so much

either in this episode or even in the episode before (11), miri will run away to search for her papa's on her own. Probably taking the train again, but this time she will either get kidnapped or get lost again in a completely different city

It will end with Misaki realizing her daughter went missing and her either calling Kazuki or directly showing up at their house

Ep. 13

It's canon, the authors and directors of buddy daddies already confirmed that it will end realistically. (as realistic as this show can get ig 🥲) they also stated that the last few episodes are more serious and we all know that this show has no problem with angsty themes :')))

So according to this, it would be stupid to think that Rei, Kazuki and Miri will live happily ever after

One of them will probably get shot, my bet is on Kazuki since it would be stupid to try and kill your own heir

Miri most likely will also have been kidnapped by someone from the agency

Usually she was pretty dense whenever she was in danger before (for example when her biological dad held a gun to her head and she wasn't scared, or when she saw rei shooting someone)

But i think this time, miri will actually realize the importance of the situation and will be terrified 😭

I also think that Kazuki will kill the man that was responsible for his wife's death

For some reason I really can't think of any ending besides Rei and Kazuki leaving the business but how would they do that??

They can't just walk off and say that they quit xddd

They also aren't strong enough to kill the whole agency

Instead I think that one of them will kill Rei's dad, setting an end to this once and for all

HOW COOL WOULD IT BE IF REI IS THE ONE TO KILL HIS OWN DAD??!

Remember that scene in the intro where Rei's dad is standing infront of a car?? That could be the scene where they start a fight

I don't think that miri will start to live with Kazuki and Rei after that tho

Most likely they will Co parent or sum shit like that and tbh I don't like this idea very much

But it's better than nothing I assume

It would also make the most sense cuz after all since Kazuki and rei wouldn't be assassins anymore, they would have no income, which means both of them have to find real jobs

Finding your place in this world can be scary. Especially if you are not used to it

For some reason I think this show will end with Kazuki and Rei showing up at Miri's daycare Christmas performance, watching her from a distance and she'll notice them, running off the stage, straight into their arms cuz she missed her papa's so much 🥺🥺

Maybe we'll even get a scene where we see all of them in the future together ✨ imagine them trying to enroll miri into school 😂 or her getting into her first relationship xddd

Also I'm sry to disappoint any shippers but I don't think that Kazuki and Rei will become canonly a couple 😭😭😭 I think they will just stay queer coded 😭

However I still hope that they will grow as people in the next few episodes

Summary:

Representation:

This will be an own voices review since I’m coming from an Asian American & queer perspective, but we are not a monolith and not everyone will agree with my interpretation.

To be honest, I had really high expectations for this book. It had been in my TBR ever since I heard it was coming out, and I was super excited to read about two queer PoC falling in love (not to mention the enemies to lovers and food!!) but it ended up falling short in a lot of ways.

For representation, Theo Mori is Japanese and Chinese (if I remember correctly) and Gabi Moreno is Puerto Rican. While Theo is gay and out, Gabi is very much in the closet and struggles with his father’s machismo expectations.

I will say that while this is the author’s own experience growing up in these cultures, the book’s impact depended on the readers. For white readers, the book would appear to reinforce negative stereotypes like Asian parents pushing for perfect grades, and Latinx parents being machismo and sexist.

It’s one of those things that for Asian kids, we know that sometimes our parents can be strict, but it’s not something that applies to all Asian parents. I would have liked to see some of those stereotypes challenged in this book instead of reinforced.

That being said, the book did a really good job of showing the struggles of being in the closet, especially with a homophobic family.

What I Liked:

I liked the plot and how it flowed - nothing seemed choppy or didn’t make sense. There was always a reason the characters were doing what they did, and even if you didn’t agree with it you understood their motivations.

I needed a good beach read when I picked this up, and it did not disappoint. I also love love love when romance books have switching perspectives - it adds a lot of dimension to the characters.

Why I couldn’t give it a 10:

Sadly, this book ended up falling into a lot of unfortunate stereotypes that I felt readers from other backgrounds wouldn’t recognize as such. I discussed this a bit already, but it was to the extent that I had to put the book down at times. I also didn’t really like how the “enemies to lovers” aspect was basic - they genuinely had little reason to hate each other and it was mostly one sided. This is later acknowledged so that they can have a romance, but it fell flat for me. I prefer when characters have complex motivations, especially for a plot line that propels so much of the book.

Ultimately, I’m grateful for the representation this book brings to the table and I hope it can make people feel seen, I just didn’t enjoy the writing as much as I wanted to. For a debut novel, it’s not bad!

I can’t think of any recommendations like this book at the moment (because this is a months-old draft) but I’ll keep an eye out!
